Ok, it does look a little bit dated. But the food, the service and the staff are beyond amazing!! It was a busy night, but we didn't need to wait too long for drinks, and each course. The menu is varied, the food was absolutely first class! Delicious homemade bread too!Prices are very reasonable too. I will definitely be returning!

Good Value for money, particularly recommend the Spinsch off the sides. Staff were all very friendly and attentive. I would’ve hoped for a bit more toppings on my main (I had pasta) but that is the only thing. I liked how they brought bits to snack on upon arrival.

Amazing authentic Italian restaurant. We come here often as always amazing food and service. This time we were in a group of 11 for and 18th birthday and once again all had a lovely meal, prompt and friendly service and sensible prices.

Fantastic food! Flavours so well balanced, good sized portions, lots of option. We can't wait to come back and try it all! The atmosphere was so warm, welcoming and relaxing. Staff are so friendly and the place was kept so clean an tidy. I can't say enough good things about it. Don't both with zizzi, go to Ciao Amore!

Wow where do I start! An incredible barbecue type dinner. We had the combo for one and and the Bare Grill burger. Everything was perfectly cooked and tasted incredible. Highly recommend the ribs and the milkshakes were amazing too :)
Sam B — Google review
Very popular smoke house and justifiably so. Huge portions. We had the sharers option for two, and there was enough for four. Sadly, neither of us could finish the meal because there was so much food. It was delicious. All of it. We'll definitely be going back.
Martin T — Google review
Food was alight, but it tasted overcooked, like it was sitting about for a couple hours. Took a while to order the food but once ordered it wasn't long until it came out, probably because it was microwaved. nearby parking it pretty much impossible to come by. Food portions were tiny compared till the last time we went there. (see pictures) Shrinkflation, overpriced crap. One picture is from last year, one picture is from a couple days ago.
Portal2System — Google review
Booked in advance ahead of the Quo concert. Glad I did because even at 5pm they had to turn people away. Been to numerous such restaurants across the UK but this one is amongst the best. Food was reasonably priced - especially for the portion size you end up with. And it tasted amazing. The burger I ordered was sublime. Service was speedy, friendly and excellent. This place is a little gem. So if you happen to find yourself in town - highly recommend.
Jon O — Google review
Excellent experience, the food quality and service was superb, atmosphere felt very western which was a welcome escape. I will happily go back again, the beef burnt ends for me were the stars of the show, in what was already a rollercoaster of flavours. Top notch. Thank you.
R J — Google review
I tried the Kinder Bueno shake, which was delightful, and the pulled pork with dirty fries - an absolute winner. The food was mouthwatering and left me thoroughly satisfied. To top it off, the staff were brilliant, making the whole experience even better. Highly recommended for anyone craving delicious comfort food and great service!

Came in on a Saturday evening without a booking and they luckily managed to get us a table. Weren't waiting too long on the food which was delicious. Burgers cooked to perfection. Milkshakes super tasty too. I look forward to returning.
Tom M — Google review
Visited on a fairly busy Saturday evening but not rammed. Disappointed with my visit this time when every other time I visited it was great. On this visit I ordered the T Bone Steak, it was both under and over cooked, incredibly smoky to the point it tasted bitter and without the peppercorn sauce that I ordered but was conveniently on my bill and not on my plate. In addition towards the end of the night I asked a waitress for another drink. She never came back with it and all 3 waitresses were chatting and talking conveniently drinking the exact drink I had ordered, how ironic! Service was very poor and then a service charge is added to your bill to boot. Not happy. Better drinks service at the Perkin afterwards...

Amazing place and an authentic experience. Only 3 items on the menu for dinner but this makes it a lot more simple. We had butter chicken which was delicious. Everything served in small dishes so you can make it up yourself depending on what you want. Highly recommend this place but make sure you book!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Guddi & Gikki and it was an unforgettable experience! The food was absolutely amazing – bursting with authentic Indian flavors and cooked to perfection. Boom boom koli dish was literally amazing The staff were attentive and made us feel so welcome, and the open kitchen gave a unique glimpse into the cooking process. If you’re looking for a place with delicious food and a great atmosphere, this is a must-try! Highly recommended! 🌟

I recently dined at this fantastic Indian restaurant in Taunton and was thoroughly impressed. Authentic Indian cuisine, crafted by a talented chef, had a perfect balance of spices. I especially loved the homemade pickles, which were full of flavors, with the pineapple pickle being an absolute standout. The concept of serving Thali fascinated me and portion size is great. We enjoyed lamb curry for the main course and Maachi Amritsari for starters, would highly recommended it. The dessert menu was heavenly, and my partner thoroughly relished the Gulab Jamun served with ice cream. The ambience was wonderful, complemented by a lovely Bollywood music playlist. The friendly and kind staff made the experience even better. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner, and this is the best Indian restaurant we’ve found in Taunton so far.
Anushka P — Google review
This was something a bit different from my usual experience of an Indian restaurant, in every sense, the decor the presentation, the food. But overall I thought it was really good. And it was good to try something that was a bit different.

This is out of the ordinary.beautifully cooked food. Each main dish comes with three sides - this is a great way to do it. Each dish very distinct with amazing flavours and just the right amount of spicing. Did I say the mixed starters were superb? We had a wonderful time last Wednesday night. Busy enough to have a hum of conversation of people clearly having a great time. Terrific service - just the right amount of attention.

Indians can be tough critics about their own food in general and Guddi and Gikki did not disappoint. We travelled all the way from the US for our kid’s cricket tournament in King’s College and had delicious Punjabi Food that reminded us of a Dhaba style cuisine with a modern twist! This is a must visit restaurant if you are visiting Taunton.

The whole experience was grand. Extremely polite staff, amazing atmosphere. Food was out of this world and they use locally sourced ingredients for all their food. Highly recommend to anyone who wants to experience fine dining at a very reasonable cost.

We had a lovely time. Atmosphere was great and the staff were very attentive. We had the sample fixed 3 course menu which was a great portion of food. All courses were AMAZING and were great value for money. We’d definitely go back.
Joshua D — Google review
We celebrated our wedding anniversary here, following a recommendation from friends. We were delighted that it lived up to its fine reputation! Service, food/drinks offerings and ambience were all top notch, but with a laid-back bistro style of operation. We both chose the same dishes (been married too long!) - scallops followed by monkfish. I indulged in a beautiful custard tart with rhubarb, but purely for research purposes of course! I only have one very tiny observation, and that is I felt it was a shame they use paper napkins - the same ones as offered in the WC to dry one's hands! Linen would have completed a perfect picture. That said, we both loved it and it will be our place of choice for future celebrations 🍾.
Sally M — Google review
Augustus is tucked away in a little side street but well worth tracking down. The menu is of classic French style with little modern twists. My wife and l ate here they had no problem dealing with my wife coeliac disease GF. We were looked after by Cedric, Henry and Erin all very knowledgeable and professional nothing to much trouble. We had Asparagus with a crispy soft egg followed by crown of pigeon my wife had faggots. All were beautifully prepared and cooked to perfection, all in all if you’re in Taunton do hunt it out you won’t regret it.
James T — Google review
My partner and I visited Augusta’s on Saturday night for the first time for dinner. Service was exceptional - polite and attentive staff, wine topped up regularly throughout the night. We are both lactose intolerant and Cedric was able to advise on dishes which would be suitable and changes they can make to dishes to cater for us which was amazing and appeared no hassle! Food was delicious, great quality and a good portion size. Lovely atmosphere and clean. We were given the option of where to sit and chose the conservatory which was lovely. Fair price for the quality of food and drink. Great location in Taunton town - tucked away but a hidden gem! We will be back!

Lovely Restaurant, Nugget and the team very professional and attentive 👍 highly recommend sirloin steak and the custard tart, the best in town. My greatest compliments to the chefs especially chef Elliott.

As usual we had an amazingly good meal. Cedric and his team are so warmly welcoming. The atmosphere is relaxed but the attitude to the quality of the food is anything but! The whole meal was wonderful but special mention for the custard tart with blackcurrant compote. Outstanding. Thanks to all.

I can’t recommend this enough. Lovely place and great food and knowledgeable about wines. The staff really provide the best service and pride themselves in doing so to a very high standard. Restaurant
Nestled along Bridge Street, Skewer House Taunton is a charming family-owned eatery that invites you to indulge in the rich flavors of Madeiran cuisine. With its rustic decor and vibrant colors, this vintage-style restaurant creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere perfect for intimate gatherings with loved ones. The highlight of the menu is undoubtedly the barbecued espetada skewers, which showcase traditional Portuguese cooking techniques while also incorporating innovative twists.
Went here for a special occasion and overall had a fab time! The skewers were absolutely delicious and the service throughout was friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, they were out of beef and forgot the sparkler we'd asked for to celebrate, which was a bit disappointing. The only real downside was a staff member loudly shouting about closing near the end which kind of killed the vibe. That said, the rest of the experience was great and we’d still recommend it for a tasty night out.
Jessica C — Google review
Had the most amazing meal here last night. Every single thing we ate was delicious. The bread was amazing along with the meats and the side dishes. All washed down with a jug of the best strawberry Sangria I have ever had. Cannot rate the whole experience high enough. We will certainly be back ! 😀
Amanda H — Google review
Went for a date with my boyfriend. As a portuguese, it felt like I was back home 💙 we were immediately seated and food came really fast too. We shared a skewer house set with the garlic bolo do caco, chouriço assado, lamb skewer, spicy rice, saute potatoes and veggies, plus an extra skewer of king prawns and squid. And the lemon curd blueberry cheesecake slice. Everything was really tasty, just the lamb was a bit too salty and we were both drinking water for the rest of the evening which was a bit annoying. The staff was really friendly, but we both thought that it was a bit too loud. Will recommend :) obrigada!
Sofia H — Google review
What can I say except wow! The staff couldn't be more helpful, smiling continuously! If they don't like their jobs they are good actors/actresses. The food was absolutely amazing,.. the best sweet potato fries I have ever had the honour to eat and I love my sweet potato fries 😋 all I can say is if you haven't been to this restaurant, you definitely have a small piece of your life's missing! This was our first time at Skewers and we are already planning the next 😍
Matt K — Google review
First time visiting here with friends. Not only is the food and atmosphere amazing but the whole evening is an experience. A skewer of halloumi over flaming ouzo was so fun! As a vegetarian there was lots on offer. The house special is a great deal and plenty of food for 2 to share! The halloumi was so nice with the roasted vegetables. The cheesecake was a huge slice and 2 of us couldn’t finish it! Will definitely return!
Alex T — Google review
Genuinely fantastic food and service. Great menu. Everything we ordered was worth trying, and we can't wait to go back. Took my partner there for a birthday meal and they hung a little birthday banner up at the table which was a nice touch! All the staff were friendly and offered a really nice service so thank you to them all.
Ben P — Google review
You wouldn’t believe you are in little Taunton, this restaurant is a gem. You go through the door and you are teleported in one of those Portuguese distinct taverns from the streets of Porto. The atmosphere is great, Portuguese music playing in the background, busy waiters bringing all types of delicious food, small tables full of customers that seem they are enjoying themselves. The food was spot on, the skewers of various meat types are the main meal that you can build you dinner, and the “pièce de résistance” is the desert, various glorious cheesecakes. The staff were also great, always ready to serve and accommodate any request, happy and polite.
Andrei N — Google review
5 years later the place doesn't disappoint. Everything is the same, atmosphere, music and food. Only 4 stars for food because it cools down too quickly and the grilled courgettes were raw. However, you are up for a lovely meat dinner!

Italian restaurant
Nestled in the vibrant Orchard Shopping Centre, Little Italy Restaurant is a gem that captures the essence of authentic Italian dining. Renowned for its delightful cuisine and exceptional service, this eatery has garnered a loyal following among locals and visitors alike. Diners rave about the generous portions and flavorful dishes that transport them straight to Italy. The warm ambiance complements the culinary experience, making it an ideal spot for both casual meals and special occasions.
A gorgeous Italian lunch sat outside in their courtyard 👌🏻 The food was delicious. They were rushed off their feet with only one chef and one waiter, however the service was impeccable. The waiter kept coming over to keep us updated, apologising that they were short staffed so things were taking a little longer than normal. So many restaurants need to take note of this. Just a little communication to explain why things are slower goes a LONG way. We were really impressed. I will definitely be back.
Alexandra B — Google review
The food was superb. Absolute quality. We did need to wait a while for to be served the food but it's cooked fresh to order and was without doubt worth the wait. We had the meatballs special and a pizza. Portions looked small but filled both up. The waiting staff were great, very attentive. Only issue we encountered was that inside was boiling hot on a hot day, and the drinks (lemonade and diet coke) were warm when they were served. The toilet had Aircon but the eating area did not.
Lewis P — Google review
Another FANTASTIC home cooked Italian lunch at Little Italy. This is the 3rd time we have eaten here and every dish has been great. Attentive and prompt service, great atmosphere and the deserts are also superb. Nobody in Somerset should go to a chain Italian whilst this place is open, great value with real flavour! Currently my favourite restaurant in the SW.

Probably the most authentic Italian food in town, extremely tasty and fairly priced. The service is excellent and the atmosphere is very friendly and cosy. If you have the chance to eat here, make sure to save some space for gelato! Their ice-cream is unreal!

This was a little tucked away, but they were welcoming on arrival. Food was excellent - 3 pizzas and 2 calzone's, followed by 2 huge ice cream sundae style puddings. Would definitely return next time we're in Taunton.

Finally Stopped In… and So Glad I Did! I have taken far too long to write this review, and I am sorry, Little Italy. You absolutely deserve it. A couple of weeks ago, after a long and exhausting morning at work, I needed something comforting for lunch. I have walked past Little Italy so many times without stopping, and that day I finally decided it was time to give it a try. I did not have much time, so I planned to grab a pizza to take away. Unfortunately, they had just run out of takeaway boxes. The chef kindly offered to cut the pizza and fit it into smaller boxes, which honestly would have worked fine, but I took it as a sign from the universe to try something else. Reading the specials board made it nearly impossible to choose because everything sounded delicious. I finally settled on the Risotto Boscaiola (still to take away, as work waits for no one). The lovely lady behind the counter asked if I wanted Parmigiano and black pepper on top, and really, who could say no to that? Back at my desk, I took the first bite, and oh my goodness. Absolute perfection. Creamy, rich, perfectly balanced flavours. I might have actually shed a tear of joy. It was that good. Little Italy, you have gained a new regular. Next time, I am eating in, and definitely having that pizza too.

Best italian in Taunton with a welcoming atmosphere and staff. We ordered 2 pizzas a d they were so good that as a dessert we ordered a third one. Very nice people run the restaurant making you feel welcome. The place has a nice homely country village feel to it, well decorated. The food is excellent as well. Mixed started spring rolls/dumplings were crisp and not oily at all. Main was pork Larb, Id tried this at home myself. There was only chicken or beef on the menu but as everything is made from scratch using pork wasnt a problem for them. Generous portion with plenty of mint, coriander and chili.

Breakfast restaurant
Harvester Griffin Taunton is a family-friendly restaurant that offers a range of grilled meats, salads, pasta, and seafood. It is advisable to make a reservation in advance to avoid disappointment as they can get busy. The staff are friendly and efficient, taking orders promptly and catering to any dietary requirements or allergies. The food is delicious and well-prepared, with the salad bar offering fresh options and the mains being both visually appealing and tasty.
Initially I was unsure as I had mentioned in the booking we had 2 disabled guests and the table that we were directed to was some way from the entrance and difficult to get to. However, when the objection to this was noted staff were happy to direct us to a table near the door. The waitress initially was over quickly for drinks and was bright, bubbly and chatty but then was gone for a long time and despite knowing what we wanted to order it took at least 5-10 minutes before we could get her attention and place the order, she was though still bright and efficient though clearly very busy. The food did not take long to come and I think we were all impressed. We ordered a pork and chorizo skewer and the chunks of pork were larger than expected and we were impressed. The Chicken waffles, which were complimented. I want to say seared chicken but I am not sure it was that but definitely chicken and that was good and I had a classic burger or mighty burger I am not sure but the waitress suggested doubling the patty, I did and I was impressed but I think in future I would go with a single patty. Overall we were very impressed with the quantity and quality of food, certainly for the price. I would happily recommend The Griffin to friends and family.

Absolutely horrendous. Food was absolutely disgusting and came out literally black and rock solid, took nearly an hour to come to the table. The service is absolutely appalling I’ve never known a restaurant to have such ignorant staff. If possible I wouldn’t even rate 1 star as it doesn’t even deserve that. My one year old had veg sticks and the carrots came with literal mud on them. Disgusting avoid at all cost

Let down by the servers. I’ve brought my family to this restaurant for years, especially for my dad’s birthday, but today’s experience was so poor it’s changed how I feel about ever coming back. From the start, service was unwelcoming and unprofessional. The two girls in plaid shirts (one in Santa hat) who dealt with us set the tone. We came 20 minutes early for our booking. They spoke in front of us about being too early and complaining as if we weren’t there. No greeting, no smile — they looked like they just didn’t want to be there. I kindly said we’re more than happy to go somewhere else to wait but they told us to wait at the bar and that we could order breakfast if we wanted to as we wait for our main table instead. No one brought us menus or checked in. By 11:40 they were still at the bar chatting and laughing with each other, ignoring us. My partner stood at the front trying to get help while one of the plaid-shirted (Santa hat) servers walked past him multiple times without stopping — again, no smile, no offer of help. When we were finally seated, the table was dirty — crumbs, salt and pepper everywhere — and the restaurant wasn’t even busy ( only had 4 people seated with foods already). I asked for it to be cleaned and one of the girls in a plaid shirt wearing a Santa hat came over. She started with looking annoyed and asked which part of the table does she need to clean. My mum politely said the whole table please. She wiped only half the table and tried to leave. When I politely asked her to finish the rest, she sighed and told us to leave the table so she could clean — even though none of us were sitting there (just a bag on the table). She reluctantly did a bit more and still left two places dirty. Still no smile. Still no care. Just quite unprofessional and rude. What really alarmed us: we then realised the BBQ sauce bottle on our table were out of date. For years we’ve trusted this place for family celebrations. After today — with some staffs showing rudeness, indifference and poor standards — I don’t feel comfortable bringing my family back to celebrate. Honestly, so disappointed during a special day for my father.

We came in for linner , the food was okay, but waiting time was a bit long considering the place was very empty, burger could have done with more than a quarter teaspoon of mayo! Cameron, our waiter was very pleasant and welcoming, he was friendly and attentive. Cameron wasn’t the problem, unfortunately the food was. #bigupcammy

We've been coming here for many years now but unfortunately it seems the service has been getting worse almost every time. This time we booked a table for a Monday evening, and waited for just over 20 minutes for our salad bowls, which isn't a problem really but when we did eventually receive them and wondered over to the salad bar most of the salad cart was empty along with no white rolls, but had brown which wasn't an issue for me but most children prefer white. They had also ran out of the small plates and all of the salad dressings too and hadn't replenished the cart in the one hour and twenty minutes we had to wait for our mains to turn up! It's a real shame as the Harvesters usually offer great service with good food and isn't silly money for all the family.

Good food let down by the servers . We had a table booked for 5pm on a Sunday night . It was steady but definitely not rush hour as there were a fair few empty tables . Our server seated us . I didn’t get her name but she had long dark hair and she did not look remotely interested. Our food took about 45 minutes to arrive which we felt was a little long as the restaurant wasn’t overly busy . Once we had finished our mains we were planning on ordering desserts however after waiting for 25 minutes for someone to even clear our plates we decided against this . Our server walked past our table multiple times and could see we were waiting patiently for our plates to be cleared however she chose to instead clean the same empty table multiple times . We finally after 40 minutes of waiting managed to flag another server down for the bill. This then took another 10 minutes for her to actually bring over the card machine . The food however was very tasty so I’d recommend going to a harvester for food I just personally wouldn’t recommend this one due to the servers

Well after my poor review of 1 star only a year ago we headed back to the harvester Taunton on Monday for my wife 50th celebration. But nothing has changed and in truth it's got worse, my food in the photo was returned after we had a 45 min to get out food. On arrival the chicken was disgusting and warm and the chips where very very lucky warm disgusting all presented in a prison looking metal tin. How any one can agree that a small tin of chips and a tiny piece of chicken chicken in a roll and a few chips is worth £14.99 is beyond me complete utter rip off and exclude the salad the meals are ridiculously overpriced and you don't get quality. I can think of many other restaurants were price and quality are reasonable and great. The salad cart omg awful, food contaminateing warrare, dirty other salad bins being contaminated with salad. salad bins left fully empty not topped up or removed. I had to asked for 5 different salad bins to be topped up including the bread rolls. Food hygiene would off closed that salad cart down due to cross contamination. 2 of the salad dressing empty and dried up sauce. Why is the refills for drink such a rip off. We spent just under £80 for 4 meals and my wife halloumi was the biggest rip off I have ever witnessed £18 for a tiny small meal honestly we felt absolutely ripped off but I did not want to spoil my wife birthday meal. Harvester will be the big chain we see close down. They were so brilliant years again and now it's greed greed greed. Staff lovely can not complain

Went to spend some time in while I was waiting for my bus, so had an hour or so to kill and felt a bit hungry. Had a brunch item - pancakes with bacon and maple syrup - and it was really nice. Just enough and the bacon was crispy which is hugely important! Staff were lovely, very friendly and attentive, and the wait for food was minimal. The only thing I felt was lacking was the loo which was quite a small cubicle but I did have a big bag with me. Overall, I'd recommend it!

Nestled in the picturesque countryside of West Monkton, Silvers Pantry is a delightful cafe that offers a cozy atmosphere and an inviting outdoor dining area overlooking a working farm. Although it closes at 2:30 PM, this charming spot has garnered rave reviews for its hearty breakfasts and scrumptious lunches. Guests can indulge in homemade frittatas paired with fresh salads or enjoy comforting classics like fish finger sandwiches. The cafe also caters to vegetarians with an impressive selection of dishes.
One of our favourite places to eat. Staff are very welcoming and friendly, and food is absolutely top notch. We have some dietary needs in our family and Silvers has always been really accommodating of these. Children are welcomed, and mine have always loved seeing the animals outside. A relaxed gem of a place that deserves its excellent reputation!

Quaint little place with sheltered seating to bring your dogs. The staff were exceptionally friendly and swift to serve. We had the eggs royale, which were excellent. Would recommend. We stopped off on our way northbound on the M5.

My boyfriend and I visited silvers pantry on a busy morning and found the staff were accommodating and friendly! We both ordered the silvers breakfast at a reasonable price and it was delightful. Thick cut bacon, beautifully seasoned sausage and fresh creamy scrambled egg being the highlights. The coffee was delicious along with refreshing Sicilian orange juice.

I'd only ever heard good things about silvers pantry so I built up high expectations, which it definitely exceeded! I booked a table for lunch with Mum. We ordered the most delicious homemade frittatas with a super fresh & creative salad. Portions were epic as well. We also took a slice of the carrot cake and chocolate brownie home. Mum described the carrot cake as the BEST she had ever eaten. For Mum to make this claim, it is a huge deal 😂😍 The cafe is set on a working farm with the cutest little clothing boutique for you to browse before lunch. Definitely book a table as it's a popular spot.

With its inviting wood-filled interiors and an outdoor terrace, it’s the perfect spot for anyone visiting Taunton or seeking a cozy Sunday lunch. Guests rave about the stunning features like inglenook fireplaces and stone mullion windows that create an authentic atmosphere.
Lovely pub, nice and cosy inside. Was a little bit apprehensive as it was quiet and initially felt like the staff would rather not have punters! However, service was excellent. My husband and I both had steak and it was cooked to perfection, lovely bit of steak, melt in the mouth. Good sized portion too. Would recommend.

Did not know about this place, as we are not locals, but glad we discovered it. Looks good on the outside and was impressed with the interior. The food ordered was very good and flavoursome with my wife's caesar salad very plentiful. Just marked down slightly for the staff being indifferent and unsure.

Have given 4 stars as I believe they were understaffed when I visited as staff all looked stressed and grumpy,no smiles seen and no thank you for coming or hope you enjoyed your meal. The roast beef was lovely but the rest of the food wasn't as good as I'd hoped with some food burnt on top and some burnt underneath, soggy roasted vegetables, the burger were burnt on one side and near raw on the other,no sauces were offered. We didn't raise the food issue with the staff as they looked miserable enough already,we ate what we liked, paid and left

Went in and asked the guys at the bar how long food would be they said “it depends what you order?” So I asked for one of their specials which was described as “foot long hot dog with onions and chips £14.00” and they said “oh that won’t be long” so I went ahead and ordered, knowing that some people had raved about the quality of the food and how nice it was. I made it clear to them when I ordered I didn’t have much time, so I began waiting eagerly for my food to come, when I ordered I had 35 minutes on my timer for my lunch break, by the time the food arrived I had 2 minutes left. Only to be greeted by a pound-shop hot dog bun burnt within an inch of its life, a cremated sausage, and specifically 5 pieces of onion fried and plopped on top, the chips that came with it were rock hard and barely cooked and it all had to be hurriedly crammed into a takeaway box because it took so long to come out.. beer and cider is always good here but I wouldn’t have the food again.

Lovely pub! Staff were really helpful and couldn't do enough for you. Food was absolutely lovely. None of this microwave ping stuff. 2 of us had burgers and the other had the fish and chips. The burger was freshly made too which was to die for. The piece of fish was huge and had chunky chips and looked really tasty.

We visited the Hank ridge arms on our way back from a holiday break away, we were looking for a pitstop to have an evening meal, they accommodate dogs which was what we were looking for, we were greated with a friendly reception and upon arrival of our food we had ordered we were shocked with how big the portions were! They were not only big but the food was also delicious and well presented! A little bit more on the expensive side but worth every penny, the chefs nailed it! They also had games that you could play whilst you waited for your food which helped you pass the time, If we didn't live so far away we would return for sure!

Visited as staying nearby, noticed a lot of restaurants closed on a Monday evening. Its a Luvly building from the outside, nice beer garden area outside, inside bright and spacious, loads of pictures, and beautiful lights, a welcoming atmosphere. Friendly server showed us to our table, looking onto the street. We ordered a couple of beers, a Buttermilk Chicken and a Chicken Curry with a Iraqi Laffa (bread) all our food was tasty, freshly made and well presented. We njoyed our evening. Worth a visit :)

Nice place, bad food, had a vegan burger that was £17… to call your self a chef or a cook and sending this out was outrageous. This is something you’d get served in a cell. Patties over cooked and not even sure what they were made of, no taste, burned to crisp with tarmac texture, the “salad” inside was browned and old, the brioche buns had clearly been sitting out for the last couple of days as they were absolutely stale. Vegan cheese looked like it was pick up from behind the fridge after a few weeks of maturing. Luckily the waitress walked past a few times and didn’t even ask how it was. Luckily got a refund with a very sympathetic “sorry to hear that, if you don’t like the taste, you don’t like the taste”.

I recently enjoyed a bottomless brunch at this place and it was a real treat! The food was absolutely delicious, especially the Sticky Asian Chicken Salad, and the cocktails were spot on. I do wish the drinks came a bit faster, as I was hoping for more frequent check-ins from the staff. That said, the service was fantastic overall, with Hayley being super helpful from the get-go. Clean, friendly, and a great atmosphere made for a lovely gathering with friends!

Bottomless Brunch lunch! Went yesterday for some food, had the garden brunch - consisting of scrambled egg, halloumi, potato waffles and some veggies, and the drinks followed. It's an extra 25 quid for unlimited prosecco based drinks on top of the food, which I thought was a good deal. Tried all the cocktails on the menu and highly recommend the lemoncello spritz. Service was good and it was a nice venue. Great atmosphere, staff were attentive and area was clean. Highly recommend.

The Ring Of Bells is a renowned pub and restaurant in Compton Martin, Somerset. It offers an English menu with a variety of local ales and ciders. This lowlit establishment has become a local legend throughout the area. It hosts secret live music gigs by famous pop artists such as Kylie Minogue, Paul Weller, and Coldplay. Despite its popularity, it maintains its traditional country gastropub atmosphere. The pub features a beautiful beer garden and a kids play area.
Not five stars for the service, I'm thinking more like six. Fantastic staff. As soon as I walk in, I received a warm welcome and was chatting to the bar staff like friends. I love going to places like this. The menu has an interesting selection and the food is very tasty. The beer is very good too. Keep doing what you're doing Ring of Bells because it's beautiful just the way it is. Thank you for the way you made me feel very welcome.

A cracking pub with top quality cask beers and so handy for the County Cricket ground as well. A large area is allocated for diners and even drinkers are shown to a table where table service ensues. The waiters are friendly and knowledgeable about the beers on sale and probably provide a service faster than the more conventional way. Do try to visit whilst it is quiet - the 🏏 memorabilia is well worth looking at.

In Taunton town centre, next to the cricket ground. Amazing Sunday roasts. Large portions, great beef and Yorkshire pudding, with plenty of nice roast potatoes and veg. A bonus for cricket fans, Somerset games are shown live on T V if they are playing.

Called in by chance on a day out in Taunton as the menu looked nice and, we were incredibly surprised how good it was. The welcome, service, food and drink was top notch. Even advised us to order fairly quickly as they were expecting a large influx from the cricket so didn't have to wait long. Really friendly staff but not overbearing. Food (slow cooked beef cheek for me, gnocchi for my friend ), cooling large Pimms and a red wine - all went down a treat. Worth every penny, great quality and great value. Wish I lived nearer!

I work in hospitality and thos is the best meal I've had in some time, the staff are extremely attentive without being overbearing and the vibe of the restaurant is 10 out of 10. Big thanks to Ash we’ll definitely be back!

It's a traditional pub with a beer garden. Ordering drinks at the bar is not encouraged, so it's necessary to look at a menu to determine what beers are available. Waiters take drink orders and deliver to the table, talking card payments. Hence, prices seem to be a bit more than average. Food is generally good. Nice atmosphere.

Mei's Restaurant offers a delightful and cost-effective buffet with limited options for vegetarians. The establishment provides comfortable seating in their booths, enhancing the overall experience. Diners can indulge in a diverse selection of dishes and desserts, except for the deep-fried ribs which were oily, undercooked, and unappetizing. It is not recommended to try this particular dish. Quite honestly the best pan-Asian (and more) restaurant there is. I've never had a bad plate there. The food is either cooked for you or turned over quickly to keep it fresh, there's crazy amounts of choice. £21 isn't cheap but then you're easily getting a 3 course meal, if not 6 course! Food choice was good with lots to choose from and the variety was also excellent. We did find that although the dishes were refreshed often, there were some dishes that were a little on the dry side, especially the spare ribs. That said, we couldn't fault anything else other than that. i was too slow to get to the dessert section, and my selection had run out. We took our grandchildren to Mei's as a treat, and they loved it. It was not too expensive and we were there until all were full to the brim without breaking the bank! Always good!. The restaurant was clean and tidy with all the amenities you would expect, and there was soap and hot water in the toilets, which is always a good sign. We definately would recommend this restaurant but please beware that the evening sittings are more for adults and it's more expensive. Thank you for an enjoyable experience

The restaurant is always lively, with plenty of people and lots of chatter about, but quiet enough that it doesn't disturb your conversation. They have a wide range of food to pick from, which changes based on lunch or dinner which keeps it interesting. The dessert section is a little underwhelming when compared to the rest of the restaurant though. Even though it's always lively, the restaurant is large enough that you don't have to wait long (if at all) for a table. The area is kept generally clean and staff are always quite prompt when taking used plates. Friendly staff and good food makes for a nice dining experience.

When it comes to hosting guests or celebrating special occasions, @Tristans in Taunton is the ultimate destination. Renowned for its exceptional cuisine and attentive service, this restaurant goes above and beyond to accommodate dietary restrictions—just give them a heads-up about any allergies! During my recent visit, I savored their mouthwatering 16oz T-bone steak, which was cooked flawlessly and paired with an impressive onion ring. Each bite was a testament to their mastery of flavor and tenderness.
We booked after reading reviews on Google and we were not disappointed! We booked an early dinner shortly after opening and we found service was attentive but not overbearing throughout our meal even as other diners were seated and the restaurant was getting into the swing of a Saturday evening service. There is a great selection of drinks to choose from that would suit all tastes. We liked the menu which we could see having read online is rotated. Our choices today were Grilled Brie & Thai Yellow Curry to start the latter was offered as both a veggie option and a main course. For the main event it was Confit Duck and a local TBone Steak (£10 supp) although there were so many other options that sounded tempting. Both dishes were well cooked and full of flavour. To round off our meal we opted for Chocolate Orange Crème Brûlée and Bread & Butter Pudding with Sultanas & Apricot Jam served with Custard. Will we be back - Definitely but who will we share this gem with…? Sadly no dessert pics (too busy munching!).

Had dinner here at the end of March (sorry, forgot to review!) and the team were FANTASTIC. My partner is gluten free coeliac, which I added to the notes when booking online. The next day I received an email from Georgie with a colour coded menu, of everything that was either already gluten free as standard, could be made gluten free (either by preorder or on the night - a great sign of proficient and flexible chefs) or not gluten free. Almost everything on the menu was either already gluten free or could be made gluten free, my partner couldn't believe how much choice he had. Georgie was quick to respond via email and when we arrived for our meal she already had a gluten free menu ready for my partner. Everyone's service was fantastic and each time our meals were brought over, it didn't matter who by, they confirmed to my partner it was gluten free without having to be prompted. This was so reassuring for him as someone with an intolerance/allergy, as eating out can feel a bit stressful otherwise. Not only was the service brilliant, the food was delicious too! The arancini starter and pork belly main I had were perfect! They change their menu regularly (again, another sign of skilled, creative chefs) so we will definitely be back, thank you so much!

My recent visit to Tristans in Taunton left me with an unforgettable dining experience, especially with their 16oz T-bone steak. Cooked to perfection and accompanied by a massive onion ring, this carnivore's dream surpassed all expectations. The steak's balance of tenderness and flavour was simply remarkable, making every bite a true delight. Tristans certainly knows how to please steak enthusiasts with this dish. What caught my attention next was the unique presentation of the cheesecake in a glass. Despite initial reservations, I couldn't resist trying it, and I'm glad I did. The taste was absolutely delicious, proving that appearances can be deceiving. Tristans' innovative approach to dessert left me impressed and satisfied.

lovely place. Great service and beautifully prepared locally produced food... £38 for 3 courses may seem pricey but it's worth it not just to support locals but because the food is delicious 😋

The work Christmas meal 🎄 A pre-ordered dinner for 14 of us. I absolutely loved how this wasn't your average set Christmas menu. Some really quirky dishes on offer. (Swipe for a glance at the menu). I ordered the risotto, which was missing the egg, but the enormous bhaji made up for it 😍 it was very tasty. The crème brulé for pud was also 👌, however I'm not sure why it came with some shop bought meringue 🤔 The order: 2 courses for £26 3 courses for £33 📅 Visited in December 2023

First class bistro. Went here with friends and we all had a fabulous evening. Food was cooked to perfection, staff friendly and attentive without being intrusive and prices very reasonable especially for the quality of food. Highly recommend and will definitely be going back

Tristan's is our go to place when entertaining guests or celebrating our anniversary and birthdays. The food is always exceptional and the service brilliant. They are fantastic with allergies, if you let them know beforehand then they tell you what dishes are suitable for you. Highly recommended to everyone.

ASK Italian is a contemporary chain of Italian restaurants known for its long, stone-baked pizzas and classic pasta dishes. The restaurant offers attentive and responsive service, with special experiences like Easter egg painting and accommodating large groups even during busy times like Valentine's Day. The staff are friendly and helpful, providing recommendations based on preferences and catering to allergies and dietary requirements.
Me and my boyfriend came here for our anniversary meal.Gus was amazing (if i remember correctly that was his name). super polite and welcoming and was working well under pressure due to a shortage of staff. He handled disruption and rude customers so perfectly in a professional manner and didn’t let that affect his presentation towards other customers. super smiley and happy to help. super lucky to have him there because thanks to him we’ll be back!! the food was hot fresh and so yummy. They offered a fresh lemonade shot which was such a nice touch too. Will definitely be coming again. super clean and spacious. They also have accessibility for those in wheelchairs! Thanks for making this nice for us! Oscar and Amilie x

Attended tonight with family to celebrate a birthday and we were looked after by Kyle. If I could give more than 5 stars I absolutely would. Service from arrival to paying the bill was absolutely top notch, Kyle was super friendly, engaged with us and made us feel very welcome! An absolute credit to the team! Thank you Kyle! And thank you to the rest of the staff for a superb service and meal! Couldn’t fault anything :)

This is the second time I’ve been here. In my opinion it’s one of the better Ask restaurants. Good manager and good chefs, both times service was attentive and responsive. Last night we did the Easter egg painting experience which came with a reduction off the food bill afterwards. I’d really recommend it, my friends and I enjoyed the creative aspect and the meal was fab too. Great initiative and a good choice if you want to do something different with your mates. More please!

Nestled in a charming locale, the Stonegallows Inn is renowned for its generous plate specials and an impressive selection of beverages. The inviting atmosphere makes it a perfect spot to unwind after exploring nearby attractions like Hemyock Castle and The Museum of Somerset & Willows. Guests rave about the friendly staff, particularly Harrison and Laura, who create a welcoming environment that feels like home.
Really nice place and lovely atmosphere. Food was very good and we all enjoyed our meals. Staff were great and very chatty, Elisha, Tayla and Cara were so friendly, the service was really good. It really makes a difference when the people treat you in such a nice manner. Well done.

Weekday visit at 1pm, four adults. Clearly running on minimum staffing levels so as a result there was a 45 minute wait for our food. The tables were noticeably sticky. Fortunately we were not in a hurry and had plenty to chat about. Despite this, the food was excellent and well priced. - around £30 for four drinks and four main meals. note that they currently accept Blue Light discount cards. It was well cooked, tasty and hot. I personally had the Burger Sizzler Combo. I was full with everything that came with it and took the burger home to have later!

We went for lunch on a Saturday at the Stonegallows and had a good meal at a good price. As with all Hungry Horse pubs you get what you pay for and that’s no bad thing. The pub was clean and tidy. The staff were polite and friendly. The food was a little slow to be served especially as the pub was not busy. Otherwise it was an enjoyable meal and we would come again.

we come to the stone gallows today for a family meal, the food was hot and delivered in a decent time , we came here a few weeks ago and waited a hour for food. but today was very different, we was served by a girl called Paige and she was very polite and helpful, we will defiantly be visiting again
Sarah W — Google review
Really nice place, food was decent, but chips could off been hotter but were still warm enough, Greeted by a nice member of staff with red hair, and spoke to a woman named Taylor which I remember as was really welcoming and friendly. a member of staff who dealt with me that let my experience down so much , because I could barely see there name tag as they brought food out and slammed it down with no care at all and disappeared very quickly but remember her name was Paris or Paige but I’m not sure. I have visited this venue many times and never had any problems but this time I was disappointed with the way my food was presented as throwing my food onto table is far from what I expected! I love coming to stonegallows but would rather not have the attitude of not caring when a new member of staff doesn’t want to show any effort while we are there and not make us feel as welcome as before

I'm finding hard to put into words what was wrong with the Stonegallows Inn. Underwhelmed? The food was no better or worse than every outlet like this. Quite good value for money and tasting fine, hot - just what you'd expect. Everything else was just dreadful. The venue is horribly tired and in need of a serious refit, no part of the property was in acceptable repair and the toilets were a serious plunge into the depths of poor hygiene. Service left pretty much everything to be desired, every effort was spared. The one highlight was a nice smile from, I presume, the manager, but it wasn't enough to salvage a visit that will discourage me from visiting a hungry horse again for many years.

Indian takeaway
Restaurant
Maliha & Taj is a cozy restaurant known for its impeccable service and exceptional Bangladeshi and Indian cuisine. Guests highly recommend trying their signature dishes for an unforgettable dining experience. The ambiance is welcoming, and the food is brought to the table promptly after ordering. Diners rave about the succulent meat in the balti special and the flavorful special fried rice. The restaurant also offers smooth takeaway service with delicious food and good portion sizes.
Absolutely wonderful! The nicest Indian meal we’ve ever had! We’ve been on holiday in Devon and Cornwall and stopped off for a final night in Taunton to break up the journey before heading home. We really fancied an Indian for our final night and spent a lot of time researching where to go. There are a few Indian restaurants locally and all sounded good so it was a hard choice but Maliha and Taj was the one which initially grabbed us and the menu and food looked excellent so after a lot of deliberation we booked a table the night before and spent the day looking forward to it. When we arrived at the restaurant we were warmly welcomed and given a lovely table near the window. We hadn’t realised before we arrived but there was a banquet meal night running (Sunday to Thursday) which was phenomenal value - 3 courses for £19.99 - a starter, a main and rice or naan! We were given complimentary poppadoms and pickle tray and the pickles were something out of this world! Every one was beautiful and extra special to the normal ones you get. I’m not sure what the red one was but it was absolutely beautiful! A great start to the meal. We’ve ordered starters and mains for share as we couldn’t decide. The Chicken Aloo Chat was amazing, so flavoursome and a great quantity. The other starter we shared was the Flying Purple Pakoras and this was something really different but equally wonderful. It started well with the pickles and just got even better! For our mains we got the Chicken Moris and the South Indian Green. Now both of these dishes were just phenomenal. We eat a lot of Indian food but these were both really special. Great sized portions and lots of lovely, fresh, delicious chicken. Both of them were excellent but the South Indian Green was very special indeed. Out of this world flavours. So rich, spicy and just delicious. The vegetable rice was also excellent, full of vegetables and flavour and the Peshwari Naan was one of the best, if not the best, we’ve ever had. Everything was presented beautifully and the service was wonderful. We were so happy we chose to eat here. When you put it all together; the amazing food, the service and the ambience, it genuinely was the best Indian meal we’ve ever had! I just wish it wasn’t 300 miles from our home in Durham! The service was perfect. We were welcomed and treated so well from start to finish. Everyone we spoke to was top class and we really enjoyed chatting to them all. Lovely people every single one of them. The price for the banquet night was amazing too. £52 for 2 starters, 2 mains, rice and a naan, 2 big bottles of Cobra and poppadoms and pickles too! Amazing value for top class food and service. Everything about the meal was perfect. Wish we were here another night, as we’d definitely come back tomorrow! Thank you to everyone At Maliha and Taj for making our final holiday night so special and just perfect. Hopefully we can come back again on our holiday next year as we’ll be talking about this meal for a long time. Perfection in every way.

I've been in Taunton on holiday and discovered this restaurant from the aroma of the food from outside. It smelt delicious and the food did not disappoint. I ended up going nearly every night of my stay. The staff are accommodating of me visiting with an assistance dog. Food wise, there's an excellent choice of dishes you don't find in many restaurants nationwide. All absolutely delicious.

I visited last night, July 4th, to celebrate my birthday with friends and family and the food, atmosphere, everything about this restaurant is amazing! We were very well looked after by Mo and the team. We all left feeling very full and very happy! I booked the table through Mo, when booking I told him it was my birthday and I was surprised with flowers, a card and a bottle of wine. (It helps we are ex co-workers). But despite that, I was absolutely blown away by the generosity from Mo and his team. I never expected to receive any form of gifts when booking the table. I will always 100% recommend this restaurant to anyone. Thank you so much Mo & the team 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

The bartender tells me this Spoons has just lost the record as the longest Spoons in the estate! If the cask choice is not to your liking, there are craft can deals and cider options. Good busy pub, the staff are good some of the best. The food is always good and it's hot, the disabled access is good and I like the way the outside areas are separated for smokers and none smokers just how it should be. To say that it is a big place sometimes you can struggle to get a table. 1 of the best

Always walked passed this restaurant and saw lots of people eating in there so we’ve decided to come for breakfast today and it was excellent. Small breakfast for £3.99 and it came with a good portion that is enough to fill you up, the food was also not bad and for £1.71, you get refillable coffee and hot chocolate. Service was also great, food was delivered quickly and politely and staffs were also friendly. This is a nice restaurant, if you are in town and looking for somewhere to eat, you can come and try their food here.

Have been here quite a few times as we visit the area when away in our caravan. On this occasion the food was barely aired the plate was cold and the staff on this occasion (other visits staff have been absolutely fine) seemed like they just couldn't be bothered and came across quite blasé. Having said this we probably will go back when we're in that area again but if the food and service is the same as this visit then I will definitely complain.

Nestled in the heart of Taunton, "Eat the Bird" is a charming eatery that has transformed from its street food origins into a beloved destination for chicken lovers. This laid-back spot specializes in innovative chicken burgers and offers an impressive array of buffalo wings, which are often hailed as some of the best around. The atmosphere is welcoming, with staff going above and beyond to ensure guests feel valued—even during busy times.
Eat. The. Bird. What a surprise and I understand why my friend highly recommended it. High points - Cheeky Names, Design choices. Mix of sass, retro feel, in your face boldness. Food - great flavors and so much of it sounded good, great options for a burger/chicken joint. Service was pleasant, location clean. Casual vibe, added to enjoyment. Cocktail options/happy hours. Cons - There were some elements in design lacking fitting with the rest. Some retro elements on the wall - but like 2 for such major floor space felt lost. Price, a little on the high end but worth it enough to get over.

I have, we have eaten here before, many times, but as well all know, we judge based on our last visit or from someone we know who has been recently. The greeting was good, a smile and a hello. I was out with one of my daughters, and both were hungry. Things are looking a bit tatty now, chair covers broken, cleaning not great that kind of thing. The service has always been relaxed and chilled here, but tonight, it was almost sub zero. Painful really. The food was alright. We both had the plant based chicktator burger and shared a cheesy louisianna fries. The fries seem to have got smaller and smaller portions as visits progress. It's like the whole waggon wheel thing as kids!! Have I got bigger, or has the waggon wheel got smaller? And why oh why is there so little attention to detail when it comes to making the veggy/vegan options? Looking around us, everyone else's burgers looked tall and dare I say sexy, ours looked squished and definitely not sexy, they did though, taste really nice. Put as much attention into the alternative as the main would be my point, I think. I did have a chat when paying about my observations, and the chap listened and agreed. I hope he took this to the managers? Yes, we will go back again. We like Eat the bird, and as an independent, we need to support them. Attention to detail.

The staff is incredible and so welcoming. But the food is terrible. We left within 10 minutes of receiving the food. Didn’t finish it. The chips although’home made’ are very oily, the chicken was also oily.. the wings were cold on the outside like if they were warmed up in the microwave… the place has a lot of potential if the menu and food got a few major changes.. unfortunately won’t be back.. the staff is lovely though, would be a shame if the place had to close down.. it needs major renovation especially the toilets..

Hub Box Taunton is a delightful spot that has made its way from Cornwall to serve up some seriously delicious burgers. Known for their boozy brunch, you can indulge in bottomless drinks when you order any main or breakfast item. The atmosphere is welcoming, with attentive staff eager to ensure your experience is enjoyable. While the burgers are tasty and satisfying, they may be on the smaller side compared to other places.
It's a nice place to eat, with quick service, nice rustic/retro setting and plenty of seating. The food is good, comes quickly and is hot. There are lunch specials too which is a bonus, although the menu for this is much more restricted than the full menu.
Matt M — Google review
We stopped in for an early dinner but after a long day of travel and cold weather. This is probably the reason the service element weighed so heavy on this review. For a time that was pre dinner rush (5pm) on a Saturday and to see there only a handful of other tables, the staff seemed preoccupied with social conversations or other things and nearly every process that involved them returning took longer than desired. They were always helpful and kind however. Upon observing it looks like perhaps they were prioritizing preparing for the bigger rush or what might have been a large group sitting. As for the food, cocktails, the flavors were great. Got the loaded tater tots and the big kahuna burger. The amount of food and its kick was delightful. After a long day, it hit the spot and really set us up ready for bed haha the atmosphere and price were agreeable - good mix of hip and fresh, but also warm inviting cozy vibes. One drawback for me personally however is the space was drafty, after a cold wet day it was a point against y'all because it was counter to the hot food you had going on. Most likely would revisit to try other bits as overall positive experience.

First time here and the service was fantastic and welcoming, was offered a choice of where to sit but the chair was very small and unstable but coped. Milkshake was the best we’ve ever had so top marks there. Burger itself, for the price very tasty but on the small side compared to other outlets. Dirty fries hand cut apparently had so many black ends and were like warm so left most of them , onion rings nice but very greasy so left most of them, the ranch chipotle dip was awesome. Wouldn’t go again but overall a reasonable place to eat.

From the moment we walked in, we felt welcomed and relaxed. The ambiance strikes the perfect balance of modern charm and cozy comfort. My wife and I have visited three times now—once with a large group from work, and twice just this month. Every single visit, the food has been absolutely bangin’ and perfectly cooked. Each bite is packed with flavor. My wife has ordered the same burger every time (she’s hooked!), and I’ve fallen in love with the Big Dipper burger, which comes with a side of bone marrow gravy—next-level stuff. We’ve mixed up the sides with each visit and haven’t been disappointed once. I’d highly recommend the skinny fries and onion rings with garlic mayo—both are top-notch. Service has been consistently excellent. Courtney was impeccable—attentive without being intrusive—and our other server impressed us with great knowledge of their beer offerings. This wasn’t just a meal; it was an experience. Highly recommend to anyone looking for top-tier food and flawless hospitality. We’ll definitely be back!

Dog friendly, and the staff kindly bought out a burger with a candle for a birthday. 1 star down in service as drinks too a good time to be served and had to ask twice for water. Otherwise nice.

Came here as a breakfast treat with our daughter who has a dairy allergy. Looking online at the menu we saw that the pancake is listed as "vegan option is available". This is apparently not true at all. When we asked about it on arrival, the waitress was surprised this was the case. She left to go check with the kitchen, and returned to tell us that the pancakes were being made from scratch and this was not available. Very unimpressed and disappointed. We did order other food since we were there anyway. Food took ages to come and was passable but considering the wait, it was not worth it. Won't be returning, and can't recommend for people who have allergies.

Terrible food. The "goat's cheese" was a blend of cream cheese with a tiny bit of goat's cheese in it (allegedly). It just tasted like cream cheese. NO goat detectable. The monkfish was on a bed of BLAND boiled potatoes that weren't even salted. The sticky toffee pudding was like a (bad) microwave pudding from a supermarket. I left it after one bite. Waiters didn't notice or care. So BAD service too. RIPPED OFF!!!

I have been to Miller & Carter in Taunton multiple times and the service has always been excellent. The staff are friendly and accommodating, and the food arrives at a reasonable speed once ordered. The restaurant is clean, tidy, and provides a calm and relaxing atmosphere. I have noticed that prices have increased, which is expected given the current circumstances. Due to this, I may not visit again for some time. On my first visit, I had an amazing experience.
A Sunday lunch outing for a birthday. Had the Sunday Share board, consisting of lamb, beef steak and chicken, mash, roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding and veg. Others had the steak & the fish. Great food, great service and great atmosphere. Would highly recommend for Sunday lunch.

Any question she answered & when I asked about the fish she found the information out, where it comes from and how sourced what a wonderful member of your team & a mind of information🤩 - You have, you see how hard she is working on a busy night nothing was a problem. We were asked by different staff if everything was all right & did we require anything else. All very attentive - lots of choice of food & different days to choose from - will definitely go back. Thank you 😃

The atmosphere at Shepherd's Rest pub is welcoming and the staff and regulars make you feel at home. It has a local vibe, with a great ambiance and a spacious outdoor area equipped with a large screen. Families would find it ideal, as it offers a pleasant environment for everyone. The menu is relatively simple but the food looks delicious and reasonably priced. A visit to try their dishes is definitely recommended. The service provided by the friendly, helpful, and polite staff is exceptional.
A lovely lunch with my mother and daughter today (1st June). Really friendly team, lovely food and so helpful. Great car park too. Will definitely return when we visit mother in Taunton again. Amazing value for money too plus accepted my Defence Forces Discount card too.

Amazing food and nice staff. Disappointed that they advertise Sunday Roast but apparently don’t serve roast on a Sunday. When asked about the kids menu roast told we don’t do that, we showed the menu and was told we never do that. It was unfortunately just a bit odd and weird response when asked about it. But the food we did have was amazing! Perfect cheap and cheerful pub food

Reserved a table for 3 adults, 2 children and a dog. Such good friendly attentive service and that included to our Labrador with a bowl of water served to him! Shared starter for two was generous and the sausage roll particularly very tasty, all well cooked too. My son thought he had got the wrong burger served and they offered to change it, he then realised it was his mistake and yet they still offered to change it but he declined as it was his fault, quite but what a generous offer to make. I thought the Korean belly was very tasty and my wife's fish had a nice light crispy batter too, and the two grandchildren vacuumed up their chicken nuggets. No plans to visit Taunton again yet at the moment but would definitely pop in here again for food. Great value for money. Even a couple of local customers were friendly chatty and took a shine to our Lab. Nice pint of Abbott's here too, just a shame they ran out. Shame we couldn't stay for the quiz night. Some of Greene King's pubs we have gone off lately and avoid but this one as part of Hive group (I think) was something GK should aspire too as shown by the owners of Fisherman's Rest.

We received a very warm welcome at the Rest as we came into the bar late lunchtime and were delighted to learn that they were still serving food until 3pm. We took advantage of their Friday fish and chip offer which was excellent value for money, a generous portion and very tasty including a free drink. With a full and seniors menu on offer, what is there not to like about this charming local public house.

Our favorite local pub for fish and chips. Be sure to go on a Friday to make the most of their Friday fish & chip special which includes a drink and peas. I brought my family from South Africa to the pub to try their fish and chips and they declared that it was “the best fish & chips in England!”. I am inclined to agree. The fish is fresh, light and crispy batter and not too oily. My husband and I visit for their specials regularly.

Went to Monkton Elm for coffee today and the service was terrible. Went up to the counter to order 3 members of staff stood there 2 young girls looked at me and ignored me I can except that maybe it wasn’t their job but a good morning would of been nice eventually an older lady served me. To top it all this is what we were served.☹️ If this is what you call service I was not impressed. Uh Thank you for your reply but I didn’t mention about having to wait it was about manners and being respectful I would never have worked anywhere and totally ignored a customer just a simple smile or a good morning or to be told someone will be with you in a while would be acceptable not to be totally blanked . Also you never mentioned the state of the coffee we were served did you think that was okay at least bring a napkin to mop it up or replace it. I wish you luck with teaching your new staff how to be polite to the customers I would have thought that would be common sense .

Just popped in for some food. 11:25 at the till to order, having a dog with us my partner went to order but wasn't sure of the table number, was assured we could still order breakfast at that time. By the time she confirmed the table it was 11.32 and was told we couldn't order breakfast. Looking at the menu the next main menu states 12:00 onwards. Can't be bothered with poor politics you have just lost my custom and will ensure I shop elsewhere in the future

Very disappointed with everything we ordered The chutneys with poppadoms were just liquid, except lime pickle that was too chunky. Onion & bits came in plastic bag and very sweaty Mixed tandoori grill was very dry, veg rice very oily and pashwati nan was tasteless Have enjoyed food from here in the past but will not be ordering from here again
Vince C — Google review
At nearly closing time in a town where there aren't oodles of vegan-friendly options, Pink Garlic came though with plenty of dishes to choose from and very helpful friendly staff. They were also kind enough to throw in a free beverage and a vegetable bhaji. The food was on the oily and average side of things with only one of the Aloo dishes standing out as especially tasty and the aubergine and okra trending towards the undercooked and underwhelming side of the spectrum.

Lovely Pizza Express restaurant located in Taunton. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The Food was great. I visited midweek and so the restaurant wasn't overly busy and it was a very pleasant experience. I had a double pepperoni pizza and asked for my pepperoni to be cooked crispy. Well presented, bright, clean and tidy inside. We were served by Ben who was lovely, personable and had a bit of charisma and humour about him. The food was lovely. We had the doughballs and buttermilk chicken goujons and they were delicious. Then we had pizza and asked for the garlic butter to dip the pizza in. Pizza itself was lovely, nicely cooked and tasted good. Ben was really great, kept coming to check we were happy and overall made the experience much better! Thank you Ben 😊

The Plough Inn is a charming free house known for its relaxed country feel and excellent food and drink selection. With 8 ciders on tap, including the locally brewed Butcombe Bitter, and an extensive wine list, there's something for everyone. The cozy space features leather armchairs, a brick fireplace, real log fires for winter nights, and ample outdoor seating for the summer. This three-story establishment also boasts a secret bookcase door and is famous for its traditional pie and mash.
This was a fantastic pub for drinking, with many ciders on tap as expected in Somerset! The design is beautiful from the vintage features and Taunton frames on wall, counter is well-presented also. Staff were friendly and entering is done through a vintage door too, having both upstairs and downstairs in contrast! I enjoyed a Raspberry and Blackcurrant cider as well as traditional Apple cider, sitting comfortably upstairs.

Predominantly a cider pub but there are a couple of cask ales poured straight from the barrel. The bar staff are fantastic and will assist if in doubt. Multi-roomed set on varying levels so can accommodate groups of all sizes. Clientele are super friendly - you will have a great time here!

Cider pub (15 box ciders on the day we were there), 2 ales from the local brewery served straight from the cask on the back of the bar. Long narrow bar, couple of quirky rooms at the back, look for the secret door in bookcase

We stopped here (11 of us) for a stop off whilst waiting for the train back to London. As a group of all ages, we decided to get some food and a few drinks. Oh my gosh! How amazing is this place?! There were so many options on the menu, and each and every one of them were superb. Our expectations weren't too high initially, however we were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food that we received. The service was top notch (thanks Nemo), the prices were very reasonable and the garden is beautiful too. I would definitely recommend this place for either a quick drink or a full on night out with a meal. Also want to give a shout out to 'dude' the cat! Massive thanks to the whole team! Hopefully we will be back soon x

The new management / owners have really brought the ambience and community back to the Plough. It had lost it's way for a while - but the band and quiz nights have really brought the fun back! Looking forward to some food being served (don't forget vegan options) and would love Magpyes or Pieminister being back on the menu (pie and a pint night)?

Enormous pub in Taunton, first time we went in it was fairly rough with a lot of people hanging around outside shouting and messing about, but they weren't necessarily anything to do with the pub, the pub is in a bit of town where there is the opportunity for folk to congregate, and it was a Friday night. The second time was a Monday night, and it was much quieter. The lady behind the bar was lovely and we had a good blether with her, a couple of games of pool and a couple of beers and off we went.

Terrible night on 25/7/25! Normally a recent customer, I went to the toilet and came back and the bartender started mouthing towards my brothers partner discriminating shouting his in face and getting the whole pub on him! As I walked out my brother was hit and he just wanted to leave to avoid conflict ! This staff needs to be fired as she coursed to much drama in past and clearly has problem shouting at my brother! Soon as my brother went outside he got whacked again! His glasses was thrown at him twice! Security was pathetic! Staff was pathetic didn’t care as they stated!! I’m standing by my staff didn’t care about amount of blood didn’t care about nothing! Security didn’t even try hold him untill the police was there! Avoid this place! it’s getting worse and worse! Disgrace! Now his suffering with trauma and broken nose ! None stop bleeding even today!

Cafe Expresso is a coffee shop that impressed many visitors on a Bank Holiday Monday. The location, food, drinks, and staff were all highly praised. There was also an appreciation for the quick service and great value of the food and cake. The coffee was described as awesome, and the staff were friendly, helpful, and accommodating to groups. Clearing tables was done gratefully by the staff. The husband often frequents this place for breakfast and believes it to be his favorite in town.
Been in Taunton working for 4 weeks, only just found this place and it’s easily the best coffee I’ve ever had. I had the eggs Benedict, couldn’t fault it 10/10. Staff were very friendly too, nice atmosphere and outdoor seating with large window spots to sit too.

This gem of an Indian restaurant offers a delightful array of authentic dishes that are sure to tantalize your taste buds. The menu features a variety of flavorful curries and generous portions, including poppadoms served with an impressive selection of dips—six in total!
A Peerless Triumph of Taste and Trade: A Review of Rare Distinction In an era beleaguered by homogenised commerce and the sterile uniformity of corporate dominion, it is an exquisite rarity—nay, a civilisational necessity—to encounter a purveyor of such authentic excellence as this. With the finesse of a Renaissance craftsman and the spirit of a bucolic rebel, this enterprise restores dignity to the marketplace and flavour to the table. Every interaction, from the charming presentation of goods to the subtle, almost literary cadence of the seller’s pitch, is steeped in intentionality. The wares themselves—be they comestibles, curios, or crafted ephemera—are not mere items of trade, but artefacts of a vanishing sincerity. Here, provenance is not affectation, but oath. Each product seems to carry its own mythos, whispered through tradition and preserved against the tides of mediocrity. Indeed, one leaves this stall not merely having purchased, but having partaken—of story, of heritage, of unrepentant quality. It is, in every sense, a triumph of ethos over expediency. If the modern market is a tempest, then this establishment is its steadfast lighthouse—illuminating the path not only to better goods, but to a better way of living.

well this one was one of the first indian restaurants I had which was very good, the food was very nice, luckely I didn't take 2 peppers as a dinner, 1 pepper to indicate whether it's spicy or not was more than enough. staff is great. in the winter time they should do something on closing the doors , it made it too chilly sometimes

Went here with my son early summer, wasn't sure if it was that great. Son had Butter chicken looked like a load of cream was on it. My son mentioned at the time it wasn't good really... Went back with a friend, on a Tuesday night, we have been into all of the Indians in Taunton now, this was our last one....! In short there are way better around than this one! Booked and waited to be seated, plenty of spare tablets but seemed to want to clear one on the window. We both think there are better places than this one, and better menus elsewhere. Didn't seem busy at all, waited a while to be seat, and waited to be asked if we wanted a drink or poppadoms, not usually the case in a Indian. The menu seems more set for take away. Pretty standard dishes really. Once ordered the food didn't come out together, waited for naan bread and side order. Potoes are hard, like boiled ones with some sauce on. At the end they took the plates didn't offer to take any left overs home. Didn't bring any hand towel. Service wasn't great. Atmosphere - hard to explain.- lacks one really.. The price overall was expensive for what we had, two guys, both fairly hungry £100 done easily. Probably won't return, wouldn't recommend and will go to the various others previous visited.

Just about average. There was only one waiter serving the entire restaurant, which I can understand on a slow weekday evening but this was a Saturday night at 7.30pm. In truth we just felt ignored all evening; as only the absolute bare minimum was done in terms of service -being seated, drinks order taken, food order taken (after a while), food served, then having to ask for the bill after a very long of being ignored. Just was lacklustre and nothing special. Food was average and although we asked for table water at the start of the meal, we were never served anything but the drinks we could be charged for.

I couldn't figure out how to leave a review in-app but I picked up a coffee and a raspberry croissant yesterday morning and was met by Codie and Morgan, both were absolutely delightful, I have a severe nut and tree nut allergy and when I informed Codie, they asked if I preferred if they handled my order with so much care which is something that gave me so much peace of mind which I don't feel in many places nowadays! With two good sized toilets with a large lobby outside toilets, there is no need to budge-up when queuing It is very accessible for wheelchairs accesable . Children are welcome in this cafe, as well as assistance dogs.

They do a decent flat white and the cake selection is good - plenty of vegan options and the biggest teacakes I think I've ever seen!

It is now one of my most favourite coffee shops, especially since they have opened up more space and having wifi on offer. There is a great selection of coffees available (different roasts and flavours). mY favourite drink is either the Minty Mocha or Minty Hot Chocolate!!
Morne E — Google review
Went there for the first time with my future daughter-in-law for a snack. She chose a panini with tomato, pesto and mozzarella in it. I had a large tea cake served with 4 pats of butter. Both were warmed up. Both had tap water for a drink. Arrived at the coffee shop, ordered the food and gave us a wooden spoon in a glass bottle for order id no. Went and sat down and bought the food over to us.

Costa Coffee is a popular counter-service coffee chain known for its variety of hot drinks, iced coolers, sweet snacks, and sandwiches. Customers have noted that the food items are often offered at discounted prices. The service is generally quick and efficient, with friendly staff members who maintain a clean and recently refurbished cafe environment. While some locations may experience slower service due to new staff training or busier periods, the quality of the drinks remains consistently high.
Took my dog for a walk and a coffee, This Costa is dog friendly so was nice to take her in, we sat outside once I had my order to be respectful to other customers who may not like dogs. Coffee was amazing cake was tasty and the lady that served me was brilliant. Young lady if you read this I was the man with the blue staffy puppy 😁

Just went here about 15 minutes ago through the drive through. Was served on the speaker by a lovely girl who was extremely polite and joyful. And then to top it off, we were served by a man who had such an uplifting spirit (I heard the name Darren but I’m not sure if this is correct!) his positivity was infectious and I have left with my fab breakfast in a great mood. These guys are a credit to the Taunton store! Sorry I didn’t catch your guys’ names but thanks for making mine and my partners morning! ☺️🙏🏼 Hope you guys get all of the credit you deserve!

A medium-sized Costa next to The Range and a few other shops. There’s also a drive-thru for those who enjoy coffee but don’t have time to sit down and drink it. Friendly staff and a pleasant atmosphere.

There is a good seating area inside with large windows that provide good lighting. There is also outside seating with large umbrellas to protect from the sun. I had a Biscoff cheesecake which was solid enough to eat with a fork - I enjoyed it so much I forgot to take a photo!

Nestled in the vibrant independent quarter of Taunton, The Little Wine Shop & Social is a charming boutique bottle shop and tapas bar that has captured the hearts of locals. Visitors have praised the warm welcome, attentive staff, and delightful selection of food and wine. Whether it's for a casual evening with friends or a wine tasting experience led by knowledgeable sommeliers, this establishment offers an inviting atmosphere to savor Spanish-inspired tapas alongside an extensive array of wines.
First time here been meaning to go for a while booked a table for a double birthday. Staff were lovely. The food was delicious! Ordered the tapas sharer for 4 it came on 2 identical boards there was enough food per person for a small lunch. The quality and presentation of the tapas was great! We also ordered the cheese fondue (must preorder) it was so yummy very rich! You got a lot of bread and salad with it we'd happily trade some of the bread and salad for something to cut through the richness of the delicious cheese fondue like pickles maybe? Great selection of wines to choose from with your food. No faults at all with the atmosphere food or staff thank you. There's also a small deli counter selling cheeses and cures meats as well and a very good selection of wines and premium spirits also Best of all it's dog friendly!

We had a fantastic evening at The Little Wine Shop! Four of us visited last night and were absolutely blown away by the food and overall experience. The tapas boards were beautifully presented and packed with flavour—everything from the croquettes to the scallops and padron peppers was cooked to perfection. The wine list is fabulous, with plenty of choice and some really interesting finds. The ambience was spot on—relaxed, welcoming, and stylish without being pretentious. Chef Olivier and his team deserve a big shout-out for creating such a memorable experience. Service was warm and attentive throughout. Highly recommend this hidden gem—will definitely be back soon!

This is a very charming elegant tapas bar offering a wide range of superb wines and food nibbles. We just had cheese and it was some of the best selection of choices we have tried. Service was perfectly on point too. A must go to venue.

What a little local gem. Great quality food, wonderful friendly service and wonderful atmosphere. Genuinely worth the money and will definitely be back. Had the tapas sharing board, where everything was handcooked to perfection and clearly well executed

What a great little Tapas bar and restaurant. Enjoyed the food so much, I forgot to take loads of photos. The steak and chimchurri sauce was good, as was the pork belly and honey roasted Chorizo. Big shout to Laney who served and looked after us so well.

We had a wine tasting afternoon with tapas buffet style, for 22, after we had a civil partnership ceremony in Taunton Registry Office. Phillipe is a very experienced and knowledgeable sommelier, and he and his team provided a number of excellent wines to taste, in amongst the tapas, then cheese course, followed by coffee/tea at the end. We had booked the first floor for the afternoon- the room itself was set out perfectly for our party. Set at the front of the venue, two sets of bi-fold windows were opened, creating a welcome through draft. We preferred this than to being seated on the outdoor terrace, as it was cool and ‘outside’ without actually being outside and at the mercy of the unpredictable summer weather. We were there for the entire afternoon, midday til just after 4, but we could have stayed a little longer. The team were present in the background and very attentive. Phillipe introduced 5 wines for us to taste, just adding to our day rather than interrupting the proceedings. We had a few of our party that didn’t drink alcohol, or indeed drink wine, but they had non-alcohol your soft drinks without any fuss, and were very much part of the tasting experience. Thank you for a perfect afternoon.
Lisa — Google review
Overall a very disappointing and incredibly overpriced experience. Tiny portions of underseasoned food served on plates two sizes too big for such small tables. 10%-ish service fee is automatically added to your bill at the end of your stay - what an absurd and arrogant thing to do! Definitely not worth returning to 👎
Martin H — Google review
I would highly recommend this place, and look forward to returning again when in the area. We had a superb lunch here, a selection of great tapas (both Spanish and Far Eastern style) and a lovely bottle of wine. The owner was very friendly, and service was very efficient, with a calm atmosphere.

Chinatown in Ottawa is a vibrant neighborhood that offers a delightful blend of culture and cuisine. Known for its bustling atmosphere, this area is home to an array of restaurants serving authentic Asian dishes. Visitors can explore various eateries, from those specializing in traditional dim sum to others offering unique takes on classic favorites like orange chicken. While some dishes may surprise with their sweetness or flavor profiles, the generous portions ensure that diners leave satisfied.
Cannot doubt the food absolutely lovely we always go into store and order. But when you order online and the order is a hour late and you ring 10+ times you would expect them to answer one of the calls… eventually we had to go there as we had no communication and no idea where our food was they told us it was on its way and to leave so we left for the delivery guy to tell us as soon as we left the shop he was handed it?!?! . Everytime we have been in everybody has been absolutely lovely, Just would not recommend ordering online and pick up instead.

Would give 0 if possible as food never arrived. Waited over an hour for the delivery, rang up to ask how much longer it would be, they said 1 hour and then hung up on me straight away. I called straight back up and they said, your order is cancelled, bye and hung up again. Awful staff. Very rude!! I would advise to order anywhere else.

The cafe culture in this area is thriving, with a small and welcoming independent coffee shop located on Taunton High Street. The cafe offers a variety of food and drink options, including delicious gluten-free delicacies. It is wheelchair accessible and provides outdoor seating for warmer days. Visitors praise the generous portion sizes of their drinks and the quality of their freshly cooked meals. The friendly staff contribute to the warm atmosphere, making it a popular spot for locals and visitors alike.
A varied menu. Good portion sizes and prices. I ordered an adult portion of chicken nuggets, chips and beans. Rest of my party had full English breakfast and Sausage, egg bacon and beans sharing chips portion. Friendly service. A great cake selection too, though too full to partake then.

So many combinations and extras on the breakfast menu and all freshly cooked to order. Additional space and toilets upstairs. The friendly staff help contribute to the good vibes here. This cafe is very popular so be prepared to wait at peak times.

We’ve passed this cafe many times but never ventured in until today. We have 2 double breakfasts with a large latte and a tea. Both drinks were very generous and the breakfast although it took a little while it was definitely worth the wait and again piping hot so was cooked to order which I like! Good quality sausages and bacon, real butter on the toast - prefect! Tables were squeaky clean and the girls was very attentive. I think there were 3 girls working and it was lovely to hear their laughter, they obviously really enjoy their work. We’ll be in again for sure!

This is a very quaint little cafe situated on the high street. Staff were very friendly. Sign of good cafe was that it was very busy. Good selection of meals and drinks and all at reasonable prices. Myself and wife ordered the all day breakfast and service was pretty quick. Food was cooked to a good standard and thoroughly enjoyed it. Will visit again next time in town.

we were upstairs as a group of people. we probably made more noise than others (sorry). it was a nice place for us. the food and drinks are fine, not surprising but the price is fair. so, no complaints.
Tingting H — Google review
Not a bad little cafe and we would come back again I suppose if we had enough time on our hands. Service was friendly and not deserving of a complaint, however it was incredibly slow. Side note - How many Cafe Culture employees does it take to make a messy hot chocolate? Not sure but if there are 3 it'll take them a long while. We received a very messy hot chocolate and were told that that is actually how it's meant to look - Pic attached. Not sure which culture of cafe they practice but Perhaps they're wrong in this instance.

Have ordered from here for years but never again. After waiting an hour for my just eat order I rang up to find out where it was and was told no driver has been sent and my food was just sat waiting. Nobody called me to tell me this prior and the app just said prepairing food. The staff then told me to pay extra money for delivery or to come and collect it myself which is the opposite of ordering for delivery. The lady on the phone was extremely rude to me and hung up on me twice after I had asked to speak to the manager. Because of this wait my food is cold and I will never order from here again because of the rude staff. Not acceptable.

I’ve ordered food from Sabeez many times and usually enjoy it. However, today’s full platter was disappointing. The chicken had a bad smell and didn’t taste right, which made us feel it might not have been fresh. Nestled conveniently near the cricket ground, The Ale House is a charming spot for those looking to enjoy a refreshing pint before catching a match. Its prime location makes it an ideal pit stop for anyone heading into town. During my visit to Taunton, I was delighted by the warm hospitality of the staff and the inviting atmosphere filled with nostalgic 80s tunes. The breakfast I ordered was nothing short of spectacular—hot, fresh, and generously portioned at an excellent price point.
I often choose this place as somewhere to go when I feel like a homecooked meal. The portions are huge, the prices are reasonable, and they taste fantastic. It's a small pub so not much seating, and I imagine it would get busy of a weekend. Definitely try one of the pies, they are a speciality here!

Papa Johns Pizza is a popular pizza take-out and delivery chain known for its classic and specialty pizzas, as well as wings, sides, and desserts. Customers appreciate the excellent food quality and service. The staff is often described as friendly and helpful. Many enjoy the delicious pizzas with options like Cheesy Bites crust, pepperoni deep pan, Garden party filled with toppings, and hotter veggie pizza. Side orders such as cheesy garlic sticks and chicken poppers are also praised.
🍕 Friendly & Positive (General Customer Review): “Papa John’s never disappoints! The pizza is always hot, fresh, and loaded with toppings. Love the garlic sauce and that perfectly baked crust. Great service and fast delivery too!”
Tharindu L — Google review
My last order from Papa John's. Made an order for delivery. The first issue was that it took well over a hour to be delivered thus the food was tepid the tracker showed that it had been cooked and was sitting at the store for quite a while. The worst thing is I ordered a potato tots and nuggets combo box at £10.99 for my toddler. When it arrived there were no nuggets to be seen. They had run out of stock so replaced them with a small amout of cooked chicken. As you can imagine my tiddler wasn't best pleased. I can't understand why you wouldn't call a customer to see if there is something other they would like if you are out of stock. After calling to complain I'm told that they can't offer a partial refund and that they will get a manager to call me. Sadly this call has not happened. Very poor customer service!
Owen M — Google review
Its fine offering £12 pizzas but atleast put the toppings on. Get better value from aldi ** free replacement order offered, let's hope they stick to it looking at other reviews. Why has this place gone downhill so much? Everyone saying the same, hardly any toppings?! Head office seriously need to look into this store
Alan B — Google review
Ordered 2 hours in advance. Need it to chase it 20 minutes after scheduled delivery time. Store manager was offered me a free side after my complaint. Of course tracking system was saying my order was delivered long time ago. At the end hour later I was received same pizzas, both burned and probably reheated in this hour, I can't see other option for burn it so hard. Absolutely rubbish, avoid it!
Paweł S — Google review
Very fast delivery~ 20 mins for 2 large pizzas. Ordered 2 spicy Mexican pizzas. Unfortunately the amount of toppings were poor with some slices with no beef and the amount of cheese was sparse. It was mainly bread and sauce. Still enjoyed the pizza to some extent but will not be ordering again.
Healthy P — Google review
Normally get delivery and even recently they have been messing up my orders, went in to collect today all the staff were at the back of the kitchen and blanked me and walked off out the back door. I love Papa Johns but probably won’t be using the Taunton store anytime soon.
Phantom A — Google review
Took over 30 minutes to deliver to a location less than 15 minutes away and there was little to no traffic (sunday evening). They confirmed "delivered" before it was even delivered. Called store and was told to "just wait longer" when it finally got delivered it was cold.

Today's experience was the worst I have ever had with any takeaway. So bad in fact that I don't wish to relive it by writing a review, I have never in my life experienced customer service skills so poorly presented all because they get an order wrong. I have spoken to a lady from Head office and she was very nice. Hopefully she will look into this issue further, I don't want free pizza, or looking for something for free, I just ant to order and for them to get it right with zero fuss.

What a delightful discovery! Seeking shelter from the rain, I stumbled upon a dog-friendly establishment called Shoreditch White. This charming café offers an array of delectable treats, including cakes and freshly baked sausage rolls. I sampled their poached eggs accompanied by mouthwatering black pudding, which proved to be absolutely scrumptious. The coffee they serve is exceptional, made even more enjoyable by their use of oatly barista oat milk.
Shoreditch is the best independent cafe in Taunton. The food is lovely. Coffee is amazing. In some places the decaf coffee tastes like coffee flavoured milk, here it is a proper coffee. Great atmosphere , friendly staff, clean and comfortable - with a range of seating styles. I love it and can’t recommend it enough.

Great food, great service, great people. Best coffee I’ve had in a long time made by a people who take care and cherish every cup. I can only recommend this place as the go to coffee shop into Taunton!

Coffee was okay, ordered a caramel latte. Have serious doubts weather any caramel was actually in it. Also was served in a cappuccino mug which is just poor presentation. Service was quite poor. What do you want. Brought it down. Nothing else. You’d expect some level of customer service at an independent coffee shop. Lovely cafe tho very nice inside. The staff member seemed shocked when we didn’t leave a tip, however I don’t know what they expect when their service is nothing more than just taking and order and bringing the food. Would have expected an “enjoy” or something along those lines.

A lovely little place on station road, looks are quite deceiving as it looks like every other Chinese takeaway. Ordered online and was ready to collect within 25 mins. Food stayed hot. Food was very healthy and good quality, price very reasonable for the amount you get! Great options on the menu and I look forward to trying more! Thanks!

Wow, where do I start… Firstly I’d like to say what a lovely town chefs kitchen is situated in and after trying many similar takeaways I can say chefs kitchen by far takes the lead with their perfectly cooked delicious food and amazing service every time. There’s many dishes I can’t speak for because I’m addicted to the lamb curry! The dishes I have tried were Devine. Meal prices are pretty standard but the size of the meals are next level. I highly recommend and I can’t wait to enjoy the food again soon, many thanks, Kyle.

Finally found a really good Chinese in Taunton! Good quality meat, (not cheap spongy chicken). Could not fault! Brilliant. Will definately be my go to now.

Perhaps the most underrated Asian food spot in town. Food is great quality, and tasty! Had no problems whatsoever. The staff were very polite.

First time ordering from here, absolutely amazing! Great menu range, portion sizes and fresh hot food, lovely friendly staff and service, will definitely be returning. 10/10 best Chinese I've ever had. 😁

Tasty food. Generous portions. Great ability to order online for pick up - which worked seamlessly.

First time trying after seeing it's reviews, it lives up to them. The salt & pepper squid was bursting with flavour and spices. Chow mein seems to be the most difficult dish for Chinese takeaways to get right but Chefs Kitchen's is definitely in the top 3. Complimentary prawn crackers too! Definitely recommend

What a great find! Loved this place for a cosy brunch. The staff are really welcoming and such tasty food, fully recommend this one!
Hilary L — Google review
We visited Dough today for lunch and we're disappointed from what we expected from the outside. Our table was still dirty when we sat with dried tea stains and sugar grains all over, and we observed two tables become free whilst we were dining and did not get wiped clean before new diners sat down. We had the focaccia with courgette, peas and cream cheese sandwich which I was pretty tasteless and we didn't overly enjoy. We may pop in again for cakes and hot drinks as a pit stop whilst in town but weren't overly impressed on today's first visit.
Christopher G — Google review
I regularly get my bread from here but tried lunch for the first time today - delicious! The menu is much more extensive than the one shown on their website. I had a chai latte, Turkish eggs and a peach and passionfruit crumble traybake. Cake was fresh and yummy as always. Will definitely be coming back for more eat in lunches! They have about 4 small tables downstairs, as well as some stools along the side, but there's also more tables upstairs.

It seems that the bread is not fresh from the day. The crust was completely soft. Not something I expect at this price point for a bakery.

Had to wait ONE HOUR AND A HALF for our food on a WEDNESDAY EVENING but the food was amazing. If they improve service then 5 stars..
The A — Google review
To be honest, didn't get to try the food. I was staying in the town overnight on the way to Cornwall. Google checked for local food. Found this place. I went inside to place the order and was told the card machine wasn't working and I needed to go online and order and pay on the website. I did, however and when I paid I was charged extra. I questioned the additional charge with the young lady behind the counter. It was 50p. At first she didn't know. Then she said it was an admin charge for ordering online. I then said " so, I've come into the shop, told to order online because your card machine doesn't work, then I'm charged for the privilege". WOW!! All hell broke loose. She shouted i had offended her by questioning the charge, that it was only 50p and I should shut up or she wouldn't serve me. I dont mean she said, she SCREAMED!!! Even when another customer came into the shop she was screaming how I'd offended her and she felt hurt. I tried explaining that a heads up on the charge would be nice. But she continued screaming. In the end just said, " cancel the order I'm not eating your food now" still she screamed. She got a colleague from the back, he just stood there dead staring me. 45 minutes I had to wait for my money back. I wasn't eating from somewhere I'd had a disagreement. Not a chance!! Honestly, I thought I'd need a rabies shot. But I wasn't apologising for asking, what i believe to be a reasonable question. I think that made her worse. Sorry, but as a nation we've become too tolerant in accepting poor or substandard service, then being charged for the service. She also admitted that the machine had been broken for a while and no one else had dared raise the question. To be fair, the customers who came in just collected orders. I assume they were ordered online, paid for and then collected. Which is generally what I do at home. So, if you do visit this place. Be careful of the guard dog. Next time it may bite.
Andrew R — Google review
Honestly how anyone can give more than 1 star is beyond me. The WORST food I have ever eaten. Tried it once when we moved to the area a little over a year ago and it was terrible. Tried them again yesterday and so disappointed. Didn’t taste of anything.

Probably the best Chinese takeaway food we have had, consistently excellent from ordering to delivery and to the ingredients and flavours. We have tried lots of dishes and have never been disappointed. All made fresh and delivered hot! Very generous portions as we can never quite finish it and generally save some for the next day. Our faves are the dry special fried rice, the ribs, the mixed starter is amazing! Super speedy from order to delivery too 😁 there is parking if you would rather pickup
Andrea S — Google review
The food is great here, friendly staff too! 🙂

20 minutes for a medium portion of chips. Absolutely ridiculous… another woman in there had been waiting 30 minutes for her order. If you want quick service this is not the place to go. I understand it’s done order by order however surely you can cook the smaller orders while your bigger orders are in cooking. I think your system of serving needs reviewing…

If you're on the hunt for an authentic Thai culinary adventure, Baan Thai in Taunton is a must-visit. This delightful family-run establishment immerses you in the vibrant essence of Thailand from the moment you walk through its doors. The charming decor sets a warm and inviting tone, making it feel like you've stepped into another world.
If you're seeking an unforgettable Thai dining experience, look no further than this charming, family-run gem. From the moment you step inside, you're transported straight to the vibrant streets of Thailand. The authentic décor creates an inviting atmosphere that feels worlds away from the typical restaurant scene. The food? Absolutely spectacular. Each dish bursts with authentic flavors—perfectly balanced between sweet, spicy, salty, and tangy notes. The Tom Yum soup delivers a satisfying kick, while the Pad Thai is a comforting classic done right. The Green Curry is rich, fragrant, and undeniably delicious. A standout on the menu is the Penang Curry. Slightly spicier than your average curry, it offers a delightful heat that’s balanced by its creamy sauce. The bold flavors meld beautifully with tender pieces of meat or perfectly cooked vegetables, making each bite a memorable experience. What makes this place even more special is the hospitality. The staff are incredibly warm and attentive, making you feel like part of the family. They’re more than happy to recommend dishes or customize spice levels to suit your taste. Perhaps the best part? The prices are refreshingly affordable, proving that incredible food doesn’t need to come with a hefty bill. It’s clear that this isn’t a corporate chain but a labor of love by a family passionate about sharing their culinary heritage. If you appreciate authentic flavors, friendly service, and great value, this Thai restaurant is a must-visit. You'll leave with a full stomach, a happy heart, and a craving to come back for more

We had a lovely dinner at Baan Thai. The food was enjoyable — especially the green curry with bamboo, which was full of flavour. What really made the evening stand out was the excellent service. The staff were incredibly warm, attentive, and welcoming, which made us feel very well looked after. You can really feel the care they put into hosting their guests. Thank you for a lovely evening — we appreciate the effort, and it was definitely worth the trip!

Delicious authentic Thai food run by a husband and wife team. Popped in for lunch and had vegetarian spring rolls and chicken with ginger cooked to order. Lovely and a good price! They also do takeaway and are on the apps, plus they do Marshfield ice cream inside. There's also a Porcelain and Collectables shop attached at the back of the Baan Thai dining area.

Having returned from south east Asia a few months ago, my partner and I were craving Thai food, and this place did not disappoint. The food is fresh, as tasty as it is in Thailand and very fairly priced. Absolutely amazing, highly recommended 🤩

Very nice little place. Food was very very good. Reasonable prices as well. Loved the menu with the pictures, makes it easier to make a choice, especially when you not really familiar with Thai cuisine. Place is very clean and cutlery is spotless. Definitely coming back to try more dishes. Thank you, we enjoyed it very much 😊

Popped in for some lunch as I’ve been craving Thai food and it was absolutely delicious. The green curry packs some heat and hit the spot!! My partner loved the satay chicken. We’ll be back! (So I can try the pad Thai and pork skewers!)
Natalie W — Google review
Wildly overpriced tasteless food. Portion sizes pathetic £15 for half a small plastic tub with 5 bits of meat in. £7 for spring rolls that are smaller than frozen ones at the supermarket. £5 “ice cream milkshakes” with no ice cream in them that are literally some milk with some Nesquik powder in. Awful.

If you're in Taunton and craving a delicious meal, look no further than Ocean Fish Bar. This charming fish and chips shop has garnered a reputation for its exceptional food and friendly service. The staff are not only welcoming but also efficient, ensuring that your order is prepared quickly with a smile. Diners rave about the quality of the fish, which boasts large flakes enveloped in flavorful batter that strikes the perfect balance between crispy on the outside while remaining tender inside.
Only been to this fish and chip shop a couple of times but have always found the food good quality. The fish was very nice, large flakes of fish and the batter was very nice. Not the normal super crispy batter but it held all the flavour in and didn't destroy your mouth. We all found the batter was very nice, it was crispy on the outside and held lots of flavour on the inside of the batter. The chips were good and what you would expect from a fish and chip shop. Service was good and was just a simple place your order and wait for the food. The place is cash only so make sure you withdraw money before going in, there is a Co-op up the road (couple minute walk) where you can withdraw money if needed. We would be going back again. We ordered two cod and chips and mushy peas. The two cod and chips fed my wife, daughter and myself, leaving us all full up. I would say it's good quality good for a decent price.

A very good fish and chip shop located on the outside of town. The prices went up a little recently, but you still get a lot of value for money with the size of the portions, and the people running the shop are welcoming and friendly. Highly recommended.

I personally think that this place IS the best chip shop in Taunton. I have tried many many chip shops in our town over the past 47 years and have found no others that even come close. The people who run the shop are friendly, quick and good at what they do. The service is fast and comes with a smile. Their chips a superior to any others I have tried and the half a roast chicken is sublime. I highly recommend buying your take away from here whenever you're hungry or in the area.

Molly Malones is a popular local pub with a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The staff are known for their warm smiles even during busy times, and the outdoor area provides a good space for enjoying drinks. Live music performances add to the lively ambiance, although it can get quite crowded on Saturdays. Despite this, the pub remains a favorite spot for locals and visitors alike. The clean facilities and friendly patrons make it an enjoyable place to relax and have a drink during the week as well.
A proper down to earth pub. Good beer, mainly the St Austell beer. Can't go wrong there. A big beer garden. Good music. Good service at the bar and a lovely cat called Milly.

A great place to have as a local I would say, we popped in for a few drinks on Saturday evening and were met with smiles. Friendly staff even under busy times even their cat is friendly 😊 There is a good sized outdoor area with tables. The night we were in there they had a live singer on who was fantastic, he got mostly everyone up having a boogie. There was an altercation near the bar but was quickly dealt with so it didn't impact on everyones evening. All in all nice place for a drink and a boogie on a Saturday night.

Such a friendly pub, clientele and bar staff. Great for playing pool, playing darts and listening to the jukebox through the week, then on Saturdays they have great live bands playing most weeks and show the big sports events. Dog friendly to well behaved dogs with a really lovely substantial beer garden. Many a good night had here and many more to be had! Always popular and often meet new friends there.

If you're on the lookout for a delightful dining experience, Somerset Buffet is definitely worth considering. Recently, my family and I decided to venture out and explore new culinary horizons, ultimately landing at this gem known for its diverse array of global cuisines. Upon arrival around 5:30 PM, we were immediately charmed by the warm and inviting atmosphere that enveloped us as soon as we stepped inside. The restaurant's tasteful decor exudes a subtle elegance that sets the perfect backdrop for a relaxed meal.
Absolutely excellent. Staying at a hotel nearby, it is so worth the small drive to this place for your dinner instead. Good car park. Head past cinema, all the way to the end, you'll find it. Food is fantastic. It's £20 a head for buffet. So much choice and great quality, not watered down stuff. Very impressed, highly recommend.

A Delightful Evening at Somerset Buffet Today (Saturday), my family and I decided to dine out and explore something new. After reading positive reviews online, we chose to visit Somerset Buffet, known for its wide selection of global cuisines. We arrived as a group of five at around 5:30 PM and were pleasantly surprised by the overall experience. The ambience of the restaurant was warm and inviting. The interiors were tastefully done, with a subtle elegance that created a relaxed dining atmosphere. The space was clean, well-lit, and comfortable—ideal for both casual and special outings. Another practical highlight was the ample parking space, which made our arrival smooth and stress-free, even on a weekend evening. We opted for their classic buffet, which offered a generous variety of dishes spanning multiple cuisines. The Indian selection was particularly well-executed, with familiar favourites prepared with care and authentic flavours. The Thai and Japanese offerings also stood out—especially the sushi, which was fresh and artfully presented. However, one thing I was looking forward to but didn’t come across as much as I expected was the Mexican cuisine that had been mentioned on their website. It’s possible that I may have overlooked some of it, or perhaps some wasn’t included in the lineup that day. That said, the breadth and quality of what was available more than made up for this minor detail. The service throughout the evening was exceptional. Staff members were courteous, attentive, and proactive, ensuring that tables were promptly cleared and requests were quickly addressed. It’s clear that the team at Somerset Buffet takes hospitality seriously, and that made a significant difference in our overall experience. In summary, Somerset Buffet provided a satisfying and memorable dining experience. From the thoughtful layout and well-curated menu to the attentive service, every aspect contributed to a thoroughly enjoyable evening. I would certainly consider returning and would recommend it to anyone looking to enjoy a broad range of flavours in a refined setting.

Lovely place we tried getting into 3 places that where fully booked and ended up going here even though we weren’t all that hungry but as soon as we walked through them doors we were welcomed and got a table strait away and definitely got our moneys worth , after finishing at lest 3/4 plates of food each the workers cooked us a spicy curry for us to try fresh and brought it to the table. I would recomend this place any day and will be going down today for the second day in a row .

Lovely clean place. Amazing food. Quite a large selection of dishes to choose from. Everything was cooked fresh. Staff and owner were very polite. The owner even came to our table to ask how our food was/if we required anything else. Will definitely be visiting again. (Pic is of my 2nd plate of mains. I'd already polished off the starters, so no pic). Sorry
