Restaurant
Machneyuda is a renowned market restaurant in Jerusalem, owned by three acclaimed chefs who bring the best market goods directly to the kitchen and then to diners' plates. It's incredibly popular, so booking weeks in advance is highly recommended. The restaurant is part of the MachneYuda Group, which has gained international acclaim with its other ventures.
Amazing place. You get all of Israel, Balagan and all.. in one room. The love, care, expertise, amazing service, recommendations, and more. The food is by far the best in all of Israel. This restaurant deserves multiple Michelin stars in my opinion. Definitely sit so you can see the kitchen. You’ll fall in love with Israel here… and you may not want to leave.

The place is packed and had a wonderful atmosphere. The hostess was kind and even accommodated us about 15 minutes earlier than our reservation. Food: Starters were great, really both delecisous and well presented. So highly recommend them as all we ordered was good. Sadly this doesn't follow through to the main courses which were a mess. Fish was extremely salted to a point that all you could taste was saltiness and not the fish. Spicy pasta was oily and greasy. The flavour was heavily overshadowed by oil taste. The brisket was the only main course which was nice. And probably worth a taste. Drinks: Cocktails and the G&T were simply bad. Even when asking to use higher tier of Gin the end result was not great. Service: The service was bad not because the waiters weren't helpful, but simply due to the fact there were like only 3 of them for a whole 2 floors. Which causes long wait times, missed orders and various mischiefs. To their credits the waiters tried their best. I guess we just expected a bit better from what supposed to be the best food in town.

Not only couldn’t hear each other talk we couldn’t hear ourselves think When we asked waitress to lower music we were told that the noise is part of the concept. So I might just be a grumpy old man but we were there with our 27 year old son and 25 year old partner. They suffered just as much as myself and my partner. I just don’t get the concept and that’s such a pity because the food was really good
Sheldon D — Google review
We were there 6 years ago. Extremely great athmosphere, service, music, food, everything. And now we visited it again, end of shift. Awuful experience, cold food, everyone is busy to handover duties to next shift. It could be amazing experience to involve us, but no, silence and waiting us to go out, not to be a problem. Thanks Asaf, good shift. If I am wrong, please let me know.
Eshkol A — Google review
We came with great expectations and ordered a table about a month ago. Overall the service was professional and welcoming, the atmosphere was live and happy, the products were fresh and wel taken care of, BUT not very tasty and fulfilling for the sole and stomach. Also very noisy to the point that it was impossible to say a word without shouting it for several times. We set at the upper floor and the tables were almost one above each other so it was uncomfortable. we almost shared our table with the one behind us. I expected more than this.
Yasmin N — Google review
We had the salad with herbs, grapes, croutons and labneh followed by the mackerel, the chicken liver on mashed potatoes and finally the honey cake with toffee and ice cream. Food was very good but the best part was the service. We sat at the bar and were welcomed by two super friendly bartenders who gave us free shots (they were drinking with us too). They also played my song on request. Fun atmosphere.
Leonardo F — Google review
As someone who grew up in Jerusalem and lived there half her life, it's amazing to me to see how my beloved shuk (farmers market) advanced and elevated in the area of fine dining. Machneyuda is a wonderful gourmet restaurant in the shuk. The food is fantastic. The service is quick and friendly. They have their own delicious beer. The prices are very high, as expected, but they're worth it. Great atmosphere, music, and colorful decor. The seabass was yummy, just too plain for my partner (in comparison to his bold dish of interior parts), and the baked starters were really good. It's a very "happening" place, so if you want to sit and talk - go somewhere else. Overall, a great experience!
Ronnie R — Google review
Machneyuda is great! It’s noisy, informal, slightly chaotic, and absolutely a good time. For me it hits exactly the right point on the food spectrum between refined and delicious - not fussy, not too focused on presentation, just very tasty. The tasting menu is good value at 295 shekels: not cheap, but worth it (and seriously generous). My best eating experience in Israel.

Perched atop the luxurious Mamilla hotel, Rooftop offers a high-quality dining experience with breathtaking views of downtown Jerusalem. The restaurant provides a sophisticated menu featuring dishes like duck in a blanket, foie gras, sashimi, roasted goose breast, and mushroom risotto for vegetarians. Additionally, it is known for its lavish cocktails and extensive wine list.
First the hotel is worth seeing in itself. As for Rooftop, it has a cool vibe, satisfactorily service and inspired food / cocktails. Great layout and views. It was warm enough despite a cool evening and the background EDM music set the tone. The starting bread was an instant winner and the Salmon was the best plate we tried. Judah Hill cocktail was on point as was the lemon olive oil cake.
Chris N — Google review
I don’t even know what happened. We used to come to the rooftop a lot and last night we went with a big group since I recommended the place. I ordered the shashimi salmon/ and got an avocado shashimi in a bath of teriyaki sauce. It was very heavy . Totally not what I was expecting. The duck for main was actually very good but then when we ordered the malabi for dessert it was like eating butter instead of a light dessert that’s malabi is supposed to be. We had a bite of the lemon cake, you expect it to be lemony sour/ it was more like a puffy shortcake with some sweet lemon on it. What happened to the chef? Bring him back!!! Other then that, I found the service to be pleasant and quick and great. And the view is spectacular. I will come back again, but only because if past expiriance not because of this last time. Cocktails were also very good.
Yehudit T — Google review
While it is advertised as a “chef” restaurant unfortunately it does not present as such. The flavor profile of the food was below average and the presentation at times was disappointingly messy and without any refinement. Much better to go to a typical Israeli grill restaurant and eat good food at 1/5 th the price. This would not be true if it were a true chef restaurant. We spent 980 NIS for two people, which would have been fine if the food was up to par. Maybe nice for drinks due to the amazing view.
Eliyahu H — Google review
Well, I start with the end. When asking our waitress for the bill I presented her my cellphone for payment, Told her to add 15% for the tip. She then asked me without any hesitation if I could pay the tip in cash…. Well, for a five star hotel roof top restaurant, maybe they have a black money cash box only for the waitresses? The saviche was fine and well presented but the salad wasn’t tasty at all, just a large bowl of salad and vegetables plus a few pieces of fruits. The dressing was out of a bottle taste like… Ordered a strong cappuccino, got a vanilla tasting coffee instead from an automatic coffee dispenser, like you have in the airports… Expensive, not tasty food, terrible service. Ah the view! Yes the view is amazing :)
Freddy F — Google review
Extremely disappointing experience. We are guests of the hotel and had a reservation at the Rooftop Restaurant. We requested a specific table, but were seated somewhere cramped while a group without a reservation got a much better spot. When we asked to move, the staff were visibly annoyed and made us feel uncomfortable. Service was very poor — no smiles, no patience, no recommendations, and everything took ages. We had to ask four times just to get the check, and at the end they even asked if we could pay in cash, which was shocking for a place of this level. The food was surprisingly excellent, and the view is beautiful, but the atmosphere is very different (and not worth it) when the terrace is closed in “winter” (October). Sadly, even as hotel guests, we won’t be coming back.
Lea S — Google review
The restaurant is located on the 8th floor in the luxury mamila hotel. When I made the reservation I asked to sit by the window, and the view of Jerusalem was breathtaking. The food was good, worth the price. I was a bit disappointed when no waiter came to take our order and we had to call someone and it took too long for the main course to arrive after the appetizers. AND THE MOST unprofessional thing was that we were not able to leave a tip with the credit card. It was only cash OR "bit" which is like "venmo" or a direct deposit to the waiters bank account, for me it felt a bit sketchy and I did not expect this from a place like this!
Heleny H — Google review
This was so bad it was insulting. The roast beef sandwich was a HUGE piece of dry and untoasted challah with two thin - and I mean thin - strips of roast beef in them. I respectfully tried to tell the waitress that I do not blame her but it was not good as it was slapped together untoasted bread with very little meat. The sandwich was 90 something shekels… The waitress instead of taking constructive criticism fought with me and said the bread is not toasted because it’s Shabbat. I didn’t say this to her but IF ITS SHABBAT YOU WOULDNT BE OPEN TAKING MONEY. So hypocritical and frankly untrue to say bread was untoasted because of Shabbat. She then came back and rudely slapped a small plate on the table with a small heap of cold roast beef, assuming because I said there was almost no meat in there. The meal was so expensive for nothing. My wife and I went out for another meal directly after at an Arab establishment who gave proper service and real food. I am Jewish and the service from Israelis is usually sub par - but this was on another level of bad. Incredibly disappointing and they should truly be ashamed. The view was good but could not save this for us.
Daniel M — Google review
The Rooftop restaurant on top of the Mamilla Hotel in Jerusalem offers some fantastic views over the New and Old Cities but, with the exception of some delicious roasted bone marrow I found the food to be unexceptional and the service very poor indeed. Having waited a very long time to be given a menu or offered a drink we hijacked a passing young waiter who did his very best to help and give us what we needed, despite being very busy and working in a completely different section of the restaurant. Without his initiative we would certainly have made a complaint or indeed left. Here are a few photographs of some of the food at Rooftop and a few other places in Jerusalem.

The Eucalyptus, a renowned restaurant in Jerusalem, is led by Chef Moshe Basson and his son Ronny. The restaurant is celebrated for its revival of Biblical cuisine, using recipes, spices, and herbs that were nearly forgotten for centuries. Located near the Old City and surrounded by the Judean Hills, the restaurant offers a unique culinary experience with a menu that changes seasonally based on Chef Basson's daily foraging trips in the region.
It is more like 4.4 as rating for me. Food was really good, service and drinks as well. Outside tables are nice but inside is very basic and not so great. Table cloths and furniture inside also needs refreshing. Prices are very high so a bit more attention to details will be good in order from good food to go to a good overall experience place. P.S. There were several pregnant cats around, a sterilization campaign with the respective authorities would be nice.

Great restaurant and highly recommended. The place is a beautiful alleyway where artists have their studios. Eat outside if you can The food was fantastic. There is a spicy sauces appetizer with is not too hot so very tolerable and delicious. The airee was so nice, she brought us another one and also gave us a roasted cauliflower with a terrific tahini sauce on the house We ordered a short rib and lamb and both were wonderful. They came with vegetables that were very tasty. Possibly the best place we have eaten at in Jerusalem They have a full bar

The meal, service, drinks (Turkish coffee, Jerusalem Mule and tea) were all incredible. Eating on the patio in the cool evening made for a beautiful setting. Our favorite dishes were the roasted cauliflower, bread with dipping sauces, candied pear dessert. We also got the eggplant appetizer and the lamb. Servers were kind, helpful and funny. Lovely date night or group outing.

The waiter kept on bringing out free delicious food. The rice dishes, vegetarian and chicken were cooked to perfection

One of the best restaurants I know. The food is delicious, and the Jerusalem atmosphere is great. I recommend the tasting menus all of the dishes were amazing. The chef goes around and talks with diners witch upgrades the experience.

Everything here was delightful. My significant other has been wanting to come here for a few years, and we finally did. We had the Queen of Sheba tasting menu, which I would highly recommend. I’m a bit less adventurous than he is, so some of my plates my boyfriend ate, but nonetheless, the meal was amazing, and the staff was fantastic.

Ben-Sira Hummus is a renowned restaurant in Jerusalem, Israel that takes hummus to the next level. Unlike the store-bought versions found elsewhere, the warm and creamy chickpea-based dip here is a true Middle Eastern delight. The restaurant offers a variety of options to pair with their delectable hummus, such as crunchy falafel, spiced ground beef, fresh-baked pita, and Israeli salads.
Great find! Friendly and humorous service, great selection of dishes and lively atmosphere. We ordered a selection of hummus; beef, mushroom, cauliflower and chickpea. All great flavours and very filling. Falafel was also great. Highly recommend.

Amazing place. No idea why it hasn’t 5.0 stars 🤩 great hummus, very smooth. Amazing Falafel. The Shakshuka is okay, not the best, but still good. Everything is fresh and plenty and you get your money’s worth.
Marcel K — Google review
Fantastic food. There’s really nothing else I can say to describe it. Ordered delivery a bit late, so some items weren’t available, totally my fault. Meat hummus was FANTASTIC and a gracious helping. Chicken and fries also amazing. Falafels have a slickness my son didn’t like but he ate the chicken and I ate the falafel, problem solved. Recommend highly, making it a regular spot.
Gabe U — Google review
As my first restaurant in Jerusalem I was very impressed. The falafel was quite good, hummus was good and prices weren’t too expensive. One thing I was confused about was the whole ordering and sitting down thing. So how it works is you order first then sit wherever you want and they bring the food out to you.
Allen L — Google review
Got to this location by foot because of a job we were doing nearby. Went here to get falafel and were surprised by the nice-boutique feeling of this small establishment. Got a falafel sandwich for each of us. 22nis each, on the high side price wise. The sandwich was great. Ben-sira, you got great balls! They had a crunchy exterior and a moist interior. I’m not sure if they do, but they tasted like they had fried onions in them. Hummus and tahini were phenomenal. And were made on location (note if you’re pregnant…). The pitta was soft and fresh. The veggies were in nice big chunks and had a fresh crunch to them. All in all, I liked this place. And I thank The Lord that I found this hole-in-the-wall. This location doesn’t seem to have Glatt meat. No close parking to this restaurant. —kosher rabbinate Jerusalem —

Best hummus I had in my Jordan/Israel trip! I ordered cauliflower and it tastes so good. The fried cauliflower adds more flavours into the plain hummus, it is just a great combination. (Also a vegetarian choice!) If I had more time I would’ve tried all the favours here! Heard the beef one is also good. There is just too much good food in Jerusalem.
Ngan E — Google review
Not sure how this place gets good ratings... It was pretty busy, tables were dirty, we were all cramped on each other when ordering at the register with people speaking over each other and the waitor squeezing in to get orders. My order was messed up 3 times because the girl just didn't listen. The hummus didn't taste good. I guess the only good thing was that my partner liked his food, which he describes as fast food. 75₪ for two hummus, one falafel order and a tea ... Seems way too expensive.

Adom, which means "Red" in Hebrew, is a popular restaurant located in the historic train station area of Jerusalem, now known as The First Station complex. Situated in the vibrant German Colony neighborhood, Adom offers a stylish and tasty menu along with an extensive wine collection. It has been recognized as one of Israel's top ten restaurants.
This is our third time at Adom restaurant. The first time was really amazing and we declared that the burger should probably go into Israel's top 5! The second time was so disappointing, and we avoided returning for a couple of years. This visit, for us, was an attempt to find the magic again. And actually, we kind of did... The food was very tasty; hamburgers and side dishes were delicious. The service was amazingly attentive and personal (thanks Shachar!). We enjoyed very much our visit, and would probably come back again.
Ronny O — Google review
It is really cool place located at the first train station. It has not a big one but nice menu, very friendly staff and usually great dishes. This time at the bar the guys were a bit forgetting orders, had to be reminded several times for water, drinks and wine, but overall was a good experience and definitely will be back.
Kris T — Google review
Good food, even better than what expected from a restaurant in a heavily commercialized area. There were a couple of service mistakes but not too bad, and were taken care and corrected quite fast. The Sabich was awesome, so was the artichoke risotto. The desserts were nice, but could be slightly better...
Yuval S — Google review
A non-kosher restaurant located in the renovated Ottoman-era First Train Station. The seasonally changing chef menu is still among the best in town, specializing in seafood and fresh fish, chef’s dishes from Italy and France Mediterranean fusion and a selection of high quality wines. Every dish we ordered was excellent! Standouts to look for include a heavenly gnocchi with porcini and chestnuts; pasta and calamari in curry and apple sauce; seaweed risotto with calamari and split blue crab. In winter, the palate-warming chestnut soup appetizer reappears on the menu and must be tried. After 10pm, when Adom becomes more of a wine bar and pick-up spot, a menu of tapas-style dishes and half-portions becomes available. The bar is excellent, as are desserts.
Apple M — Google review
We had a large group come here for lunch. While the tables were a little small the food was great and the staff did a lot to accommodate all the guests requests. The restaurant is located in the middle of the old trail station with lots of interesting thing to look at.

Beautiful restaurant, great service. Little pricey though. Chicken Cordon Bleu was little mild but had good crispiness. Ceviche was delicious and refreshing. Pasta was little chewy.

Fine dining restaurant
Chakra is a modern restaurant located in Jerusalem, offering a rotating Mediterranean menu with Israeli wines. Established in 2000, it has become one of the city's leading dining establishments. The venue, under the direction of chef Eran Peretz, serves prime cuts of meat, fish, and pasta dishes that celebrate Israeli and Mediterranean cuisine.
Great place for dinner. The food is very precise and tasty. If you are looking for a mid range restaurant with great money for value this is a good place to consider. We had mainly fish dishes - both raw and cooked. They all were excellent. The cucumbers and basil cocktail was really good. If you are visiting at the autumn/spring the outside tables have fresh air and park view.

Chakra delivers an exceptional dining experience in Jerusalem. The food is fresh, creative, and beautifully presented, with flavors that truly stand out. Service is attentive and professional, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Prices are high but absolutely worth it for the quality and overall experience.

I love this place for years, when they were on the corner of Shlomzion aMalka, and now. interesting and delicious menu , great atmosphere, good service. A pretty expensive, however it's almost ideal for the celebration. I love to sit on the bar, to see the open kitchen.

Piccolino is a sophisticated, upscale restaurant situated in the charming alleyways of Nachalat Shiv'a neighborhood at Kikar HaMuzika. The kosher mehadrin dairy menu curated by Chef Moshe Abdiel offers an array of delectable dishes, including chestnut and nutmeg omelets for breakfast and a unique white pizza topped with mascarpone, mozzarella, and parmesan cheese.
This is my favorite classy dairy restaurant in Jerusalem. The ambiance is like none other. Although this is an upscale dining experience the food comes out in a very timely manner. The service was outstanding. The place is very crowded however you still have your own space. The live outdoor music is very unique and most enjoyable as the songs being played are all oldies but goodies. The food is exceptional and presentation is lovely. I give this a very enthusiastic two thumbs up.

The pasta was perfectly cooked, seasoned and plated. I recommend the pappardelle with mushrooms and the mushroom ravioli. The cheese platter was delicious, but I think it could’ve used more variation in flavor. Having live music was definitely a plus and the hostess and service staff were friendly and outgoing. My absolutely favorite place to dine in Jerusalem. The food is always delicious. Only the freshest ingredients. Be sure to order dessert .Service is impeccable! Fabulous music every night.

I was here with a group of friends for volunteering and for dinner we visited this place. Great service, people are so humble and welcoming. The food is really tasty as Italian food in Jerusalem, you would wonder but it was a classic one. We ordered red and white wine and delicious food raviolis, a bunch of salads, vegetables, cheese pizza and desserts. It's located in an excellent location and has very beautiful interiors. I will definitely recommend this place.

Amazing food. Great service. Live music. Beautiful setting. Hard to ask for anything more. We were accompanying a family looking for a venue for a bar mitzvah party dinner and I was blown away by this gem of a restaurant. Keep in mind it can get crowded. Make reservations. We ate relatively early on a Monday, school night, evening and the place was full by the time we left . Dairy restaurant, pizzas, salads, pastas . Ask for the chef special of the day.

Another wondefull evening here. Outside dining under the stars with such talented musicians for live entertainment. Service was so attentive and the food was great. Thank you Rivka our server for making our evening so special with her great suggestions. Was Brazilian jazz night. Like a dream. Thanks for a memorable evening. 🥰❤️🇮🇱

Azura is a beloved restaurant located within the bustling Mahane Yehuda Market in Jerusalem. The eatery offers a relaxed atmosphere and serves up traditional Israeli home-cooked meals, with influences from Turkish, Mediterranean, Iraqi, and North African cuisines. The menu features slow-cooked comfort food such as hearty stews and signature dishes like aubergine stuffed with cinnamon-scented minced beef and pine nuts. Visitors can enjoy the homestyle cooking while taking in the vibrant market surroundings.
A great authentic local restaurant. Amazing dishes with original and unique combination of ingredients. If you want to feel and taste and original Jerusalem flavour, so this is a must visit place to eat. Great for lunch and will recommend to book in advance, as the place is overloaded in rush hour. Enjoy 🙂
Jonathan G — Google review
Azura has a cozy atmosphere and the food tastes homemade. Most of the food is already cooked so the wait time is minimal. The food is very traditional and authentic to the Iraqi Kurdish cuisine. The Azura was tasty and had a combination of flavors. It consisted of an eggplant, ground meat, pine nuts and cinnamon. The portion was a bit small and I was not a huge fan of the cinnamon but overall it had a great texture. The Kubbe in the soup was delicious and probably my favorite thing I tasted. Keep in mind that this soup is a bit sour since it is made with lemon. For those that like something spicy ask for their schug, it’s great! Also the staff is very friendly and makes you feel welcome. (They also have English menus)

Why 5 stars? The Food. Great taste, good portions, relaxed family atmosphere. Everything about this place is right. Family run, super busy, classic dishes. Price is on the high side, but the value is there. Shimon Peres, former President and Prime minister of Israel used to hang around this place. Not a bad recommendation!

A tasty good old restaurant. Their stovetops are full of pots brimming with hearty delights like Kibbe and other stews The service is good, the prices are reasonable and the food comes VERY fast due to the fact it's mostly long cooked and prepared. I had beetroot kibbeh (קובה) soup which was good but a bit too soft and too oily for my tasting.

This place has truly amazing food. However, be prepared to either get there early or wait for a long time as it gets very busy during peak times. We went on Friday lunch and had to wait for at least 30 mins to get a seat. We went again on Wednesday before lunch and got a seat without waiting. We had the beet soup, bean soup, beef head, moussaka, rice with beans and hummus - all of which were amazing together with warm bread.

Tala Hummus and Falafel is a popular spot in Jerusalem's Old City, offering a modern take on traditional Middle Eastern street food. The restaurant specializes in falafel, a beloved dish made from ground chickpeas and spices, formed into crispy balls and deep-fried. This versatile food can be enjoyed as a snack or as part of a full meal, often served in warm pita bread with various toppings like pickles, tahini, and spicy dips.
Delicious and fresh, would absolutely recommend this place. As an added benefit they were open on Shabbat so that some poor hungry tourists could still have something to eat.

Best foul, hummus, falafel, chicken shawarma, and baklava of my life! Shawarma was crispy and well seasoned, falafel was fresh and soft in the middle, and hummus with roasted pine nuts with olive oil was a great balance for the saltier dishes. I was stuffed and wanted to try one baklava, ended up ordering two more! And they take credit card as a payment

The Austrian Hospice is a charming guesthouse located in an 1850s building, offering a variety of accommodations including rooms, suites, and dorms. It also features a Viennese cafe where visitors can indulge in apple strudel while enjoying the incredible rooftop view of the city. Situated in Jerusalem's Old City, it provides a perfect spot to relax and take in the surroundings.
Kind and helpful staff. You can visit the rooftop by paying 5 shekels at the automatic gate on the roof. Only 20 shekel notes and coins are accepted, but the staff at reception can give you change if you need it. There are also toilets located near reception that are very clean—a better option than the ones located around the old town.

The view from the roof is awesome. Coffee's alright, but the food and service? Not so much. I'd just check out the view and the roof. Skip the food and drinks.

A bit tricky to find, small island of peace, tranquility and traditional Austrian apple strudel in the Christian quarter of the Old City. The roof (pay with a 5NIS coin for access, or pay at reception) has a beautiful view of the Old City, but there’s no shade or seats up there, so it’s only a viewing platform. They also have a nicely decorated room for piano recitals.

A fantastic spot to recharge in the midst of the Old City of Jerusalem. It's great to enjoy a cold beer, Sachertorte, apple strudel, or other cakes and snacks with your coffee. The view from the rooftop is breathtaking! Have 5 nis coin for the rooftop's entry.

We have been here several times and had good memories and of course for christians the location is unique. However this time the service was a disaster. When checking in (After a long and eventful journey) we were told we had pay up front (This was not the case perviously) Then however it showed they could not get the bill correct. They tried to split it between me and my wife? then needed to transport it between her and me? After a long waiting time and several attempts from my side to make life easier for them we concluded we wanted to go to our room and would pay after they had solved the problem. Some time later they called and we went down to pay, but they could not get the creditcard machine to work correctly causing me to enter my pincode several times in hebrew, without any confirmation that it was canceled. So we did not know how many times we had payed. Then we had dinner and really wanted to have a coffee After dinner which they refused since the had already cleaned the coffee machine. Note it was 20:05 while the information said it was a Wiener kaffee and was opened until 22:00...

Nestled in the vibrant Machane Yehuda market, Hachapuria is a delightful Georgian eatery that transports you straight to the Caucasus with its authentic flavors. Founded by Tango Sharvit, a Georgian Jew eager to share his culinary heritage, this cozy family-run spot has become a beloved fixture in Jerusalem. Each hachapuri—stuffed bread—is crafted fresh daily, ensuring every bite is an explosion of cheesy goodness.
Delicious food. The simplicity and freshness of it is so good. The bread is perfection. There are other places in Jerusalem that serve Khachapuri but this has got to be the best! Would highly recommend it either dining in or through Wolt. They are also big enough to possibly split between two people.

Must go! It’s the restaurant with the best hygiene we’ve experienced in Israel (and we are comparing this to some of the top high end restaurants in Tel Aviv). Order the Georgian “pizza”, which is a freshly baked bread with cheese/spinach/mushroom topped with an egg. The bread is fluffy and crisp AND it doesn’t get soggy in the bottom even with the fillings! Also try the salad. So so fresh with a delicious homemade dressing. Eat here!! (Expect a queue but they’re so popular with the locals)
Catherine C — Google review
You can only order something at a big tablet like mc Donald’s self service. But instead of cheap prices, the food costs the same as in a service restaurant. It takes round about 20min until the food is ready and your name or number is called. We had the egg in a bread with spinach and cheese inside. The taste was really good and there are sauces as side dish. It was good, but I wouldn’t come here again because of the high price (55 Scheckel for one piece)

Authentic Georgian food with Israeli twist. Just few meters from Mahane Yehuda open market. Ideal for quick bites, groups and tourists. Very tasty, quick and good service!! Expect to pay 35-40 NIS for a dish. Pretty big serves. Recommend!

Great food. Good Beer. Cool people. We came here for dinner. It was our first Georgian meal and it was a great experience. The service was super nice and the food was already done in a few minutes. Maybe it's possible in the future to save some plastics and serve the sauces in little glasses or bowls and replace the plastic forks with reusables - at least for the people who eat there. 💪

FIVE STARS must eat here. Georgian (the country lol) dough baked in a special oven, made fresh to order. We got the one with the Spinach and cheese and the fried egg on top. INSTRUCTIONS TO EAT - if it’s your 1st time here, follow the server’s direction on how to eat it. Not with a fork. Use your hands and rip the dough. crack the egg yolk and twirl it around. And we also got the fried one, mind blown! 🤯

Megruli with spinach was very nice. The other dish was interesting, but too heavy. Be prepared as they don’t have a menu in English. But one of the servers speaks English. However, might be difficult during busy hours.

Additionally, the restaurant boasts a section dedicated to indulgent snacks like truffle oil french fries and panko crusted onion rings.
The chicken sandwich was moist and delicious. The nachos filled a craving I longed for from the states, however they were the “Best Nachos Ever”. The waitress was a as excellent. Steak was juicy and secular. Sandwiches was full of flavor.

If, like me, you stopped eating cheeseburgers at your Bar-Mitzvah, then let me tell you, the meat itself tastes WAY better than what I remember and the "cheese" makes it creamy like I'll never forget. And if somehow you've worked through all the burgers, the specials are Insane! Oh, and the beer selection is only topped by wait staff who bring such good vibes!

Fried foods were greasy and for the most part unseasoned. Chicken was dry. Salad tasteless and beyond oily. Extremely disappointed. Mostly American patrons who don't recognize good Israeli street food. To top it off Hechsher questionable.
Helen D — Google review
1-The burgers are awful, the sauce had an unrecognisable taste, the meat had no flavour and the bun was mediocre. The side dish (sweet potato chips) arrived 20 minutes before the burger. They were greasy and smelled like they had been fried three times. 2-There were at least five waitresses, and none of them were competent. The service was very, very slow. 3-It was dirty, very dirty, both the outdoor tables and chairs and the indoor dining area. The toilets looked like a prison and were filthy...

Big Apple Pizza is a family-owned local chain that offers New York-style pizza, pasta, and subs in a simple setting. The pizza has a perfect crisp base with just the right bite, flavorful sauce, and delicious cheese. While it may be a bit pricey for some, the taste makes it worth trying. The restaurant also offers indoor and outdoor seating options.
I went quite late so it was not that busy. Pizza typical New York style. Got a plain slice to try, perfect crisp base. Just the right bite, the sauce actually tasted of something other than just tomatoes. I added oregano so I am guessing the rest was just basil and garlic. The cheese was perfect. I will try and sneak another couple of slice in the next day. My hotel is literally across the main street.

We had a difficult experience ,my young child urgently needed the restroom and at first we were told it’s only for customers. With kids, compassion should come first. Jewish law teaches that kavod habriyot (human dignity) takes precedence, and no child should be put in that situation.

The owner (or whoever was the older person setting up the trays), is extremely rude. I already paid for the pizza, otherwise I would have left the place when he literally ripped a napkin I took out of my hands while shouting at me in the local language. The four of us stood together with their parents at the age of 15 minutes right in front of the chef, they just wanted to take a can of hummus to go, but nothing happened. In Hebrew, I told them that we want, they did not pay any attention to us and did not serve us. At the same time, during the time that we stood in the hope that they would pay attention to us and give us a can of hummus, they made probably 30 plates for their Arab friends, who continued to come right from behind us, grabbed their food and ran into the bowels of the market. I do not recommend to anyone, although once a friend treated me to hummus from them - it was delicious

Note that reservations are recommended as the restaurant can be quite busy!
Was looking for someplace to eat dinner last night in Mamilla. They accommodated us late without a problem. We were seated and served with minimal wait time. Food was incredibly delicious! Every dish was perfect. The dessert was amazing and the waiters were professional, caring and sweet. The only thing that could use a little tweaking was the mojito drink. It was missing flavor. It also bothered me that waiters rely on tips and do not get paid a fare wage.

It is a bit far from Italian restaurant. Several Italian drinks are missing, cappuccino you can get only in clear glasses, it is not enough just to have pasta and pizza and to be Italian restaurant. Service was good as well as the interior of the place. Food is tasty and good, portions as well are good size. It is nice place to be but it needs a bit more attention to details and ensure better overall experience.

Well, I sat with a friend who doesn't eat gluten. We ordered a gluten-free salad and a gluten-free pizza. It was really delicious. The prices are a bit expensive, but not too much. Overall, it was a great experience.

food was pretty good. service terrible. no waters, delivered dirty dishes 3 times before finally giving clean ones. blasting music, turned down at request then immediately turned back up. forgot part of order.

Very good and very Italian. It did take a while till they seated us but once seated most of the food came out pretty fast (our reservation for 20 was also with a preordered menu). It is not the very best kosher Italian restaurant I've been to but the food was all decent to very good. It is quite expensive....

With a very nice ambiance this dairy kosher restaurant offers an Italian menu. We had the business lunch options. There were average with a higher than average price tag. Nothing remarkable, unfortunately.

If you don't have a reservation you will likely wait an hour. We were there are around 2pm. Staff was super friendly. We ordered mushroom risotto, Fettuccini, and Margarita pizza. Once we ordered the food was very quick to arrive. The risotto came with a spoonful of parmesan cheese in order for the waiters to serve more clients i guess. The risotto lacked some flavour. I've had better. All else was pretty good. Prices were a little high than Italian I've had in the past but all good. When the bill came I asked about an additional charge. It took about 10 minutes to pay as the waiter had other tables. They advised it was an automatic tip, 34 shekels. This wasn't advertised anywhere and I wondered if it was legit. I paid anyway.

Luciana is a dairy Italian restaurant located in Jerusalem. I have been to Luciana several times and have always had a pleasant experience. Their staff is pleasant, their prices are reasonable and they keep it clean. I love the restaurants decor and the food is really good. Their presentation of the dishes is nice and the food is fresh and tasty. They have a variety of cocktails and an excellent wine selection. This time I didn't have a cocktail or dessert so I guess I will have to come back again 😋 *Good idea to make a reservation before going as the restaurant was pretty full. Sea Dolphin is an old and loved seafood restaurant located in the heart of Jerusalem. It offers professional service and comfortable seating, with a menu that catered to modern tastes and uses fresh fish and seafood as its main ingredients. The restaurant is popular with locals for its delicious food, affordable prices, and welcoming atmosphere.
Anna was our waitress, she is simply wonderful! 😊 Smiley, kind, and attentive, she made the atmosphere light and fun. She also recommended the best dish, and she’s just an awesome waitress. A huge thank you for the service!

Went for a dinner. The restaurant has good price range, you can have a meal that will cost you less than 120 shekels and you can also have 2000 shekels bottle of wine. The food was extremely tasty, the chicken and the fish were perfect done, the fries as well. The staff is very friendly and polite, a 5 stars service, food and environment. I definitely recommend this place and once I come back to Jerusalém, I’ll come back to eat here.

Food was amazing, the fish is so fresh. The greens were super uplifted and everything we ate was great. Except the dessert, we ordered pistachio creme brulee, after we ordered she said someone told you it's not pistachio, we said no but we tried it anyways. It didn't come with any berries or accompaniments like the menu said and it was coconut, no one told us any of this. The service was great, starters and mains came out fast but the dessert took double as long to order and serve (we definitely would have passed if we knew how underwhelming it was going to be.) They have so many other exciting options on the menu we would have chosen instead. It would have been a perfect meal but as people walked in without reservations they seemed to be caught off guard juggling everything and the service was bad. They also messed up the bill but swiftly went to fix it. Overall food was incredible non the less.

We had an absolutely lovely early evening meal outside! The fish and chips is crunchy and delicious, with very good french fries. The lamb kebabs were gluten free and excellent, the sea bass was very tasty, and the green vegetables were a hit. 2 Goldstar Unfiltered draft beers went really well with our fish and chips. Excellent service, pleasant surroundings, overall a big hit!

Awsome restaurant in downtown Jerusalem. Our CEO dropped us of here and referred to it as one of the best restaurants around. He did not promise to much, the food been simply amazing and staff was just perfect. However I have to take one star off since the red wine had a way to high temperature. But apart from that, this place is must go to when you are in Jerusalem.

Mona is a high-end restaurant located in Ein Rafa, just 10 km from Jerusalem, offering a stylish ambiance and creative cuisine. The restaurant, situated in the stone building named the Artists House, features a leafy terrace and modern Israeli cooking. Chef Rashta's menu is inspired by local produce and traditional Arabic food, paying homage to the culinary roots of the region. The elegant eatery provides an intimate dining experience with delightful service and a good selection of wine.
Wonderful food. Pretty much the best fine dining experience in Jerusalem. Very expensive as it is a chef restaurant. Everything is very rich and buttery. The place is reservation only and reservations require a deposit

Perfect place. A combination of great service, delicious food, attentive personnel and gastronomic delight is hardly found in Jerusalem. Accidentally got here while walking in the heart of the city and were amazed by the atmosphere. It’s not that the interior is something unique or unbelievable but the people that work at Mona fill the restaurant with kindness and professional care. This place is authentic chef restaurant providing gastronomic masterpieces inventing something new almost every evening. How pleasant it was when we received very tasty dish on the basis of corn as a compliment. We wish that this place would be open also in the mornings and be more accommodated for families with children. Definitely worthy of 5 star 🏅evaluation!!

The food is good, but not great. The service was bad, really bad. It’s a small place with low ceilings and therefore it’s very loud when full. The service was like a neighbourhood eatery. Food comes out of the kitchen when it comes. There is no order and the staff states this is the system. The place is clearly understaffed. What a mess. Some of us finished eating when others were still waiting for food. The staff was overwhelmed and did not clear plates and glasses. They have good intentions but this is far from professional. The Chef maybe a good cook but a lousy manager. While I enjoyed the food, visit was disappointing.

Said to be one of the best and most romantic restaurants in Jerusalem. We started with the sourdough bread. My favorite were the corn agnolotti, the steak and the brocomini. We also had the barkanit farm cheese, cod croquette, sweet bread, barzaula, spinach salad, fish sashimi, vegetarian linguini and lemon linguini. Everything was excellent. For dessert we had the cheesecake, cream chocolate and the fruit salad. Below are photos of what we had for reference. Non-kosher.

Nestled in the heart of Jerusalem, Iwo's Meatburger stands out as the city's sole non-kosher burger haven, making it a unique culinary destination. This beloved eatery is renowned for its mouthwatering burgers, crafted from expertly grilled patties that are made to order. With an array of toppings available—ranging from crispy bacon and cheddar cheese to sunny-side-up eggs and grilled onions—there’s something for everyone at Iwo's.
Delicious hamburger—indeed the best I have had in Jerusalem. 250 grams of tasty perfectly cooked beef. Very good service. 5-7 minute walk from Jaffa Gate. I am coming again.

I was looking for gluten free food on Wolt and found this place. I had a lamb burger with a gluten free bun. The bun was good, couldn’t tell it was gluten free. The lamb burger flavour had too strong a lamb flavour. I ordered a side salad and it was a decently large size.
Jane N — Google review
It is a basic burger place. The good side is that is not kosher so you can have cheeseburger but then one slice of cheese is 9 shekels. Burgers are good. The regular ones the meat is rather small. Cheese fries were a bit tasteless, the fried onions in the burger where actually burnt onions. Overall was ok, but too expensive for what they offer as overall experience.

First after I ordered my burger and found out that it's too big for me, I asked the server to have it wrapped so it can be cut in halves. I am Happy smiling. Fries are a must. Meat tasted like pure beef. What a pleasure. 1-2-3 that's it. They also serve Burgers in a Plate without bun. Chicken Nuggets we're a Side dish, soakef with tobasco, garnished with chilli sauce and Mayo Like a Candy.

This was a very good burger, the meat was super juicy, the toppings great. I did not like the bun; however i am not marking down for this as this type of brioche bun is the "in" bread right now. I had the potato wedges as my side. --fantastic They have the electronic menu ordering system, however the counter person took my order verbally along with explaining any options. If you looking for a burger this no frills joint is just the place!

We got to the restaurant to have breakfast. We were told there was one table in front of us. They didn’t have the ability to estimate a wait time. After the table ahead of us was seated being told we were next. They changed their mind and decided someone else had priority. 25 minutes of waiting and we left.

Highly unsatisfactory experience and not worth the waiting line. After a week time of close to 40 minutes we sat down to a breakfast for two. I asked about gluten free options and the waitresses said there were non, but promised to keep the bread separate from the meal. The meal arrived with crackers on the cheese and when asked to replace it with a cheese plate that crackers had not touched, they returned the plate covered in crumbs. (They had clearly just removed the crackers). We had to wait a long time between each request, and the waitress was indifferent and unhelpful.

There's usually quite a wait during lunch. The food is great though. Got a feel of authentic French to it. They specialize in pastries so be sure to eat as many of those. I think the croque madam dish was a bit disappointing. The goat cheese croasone toast was great however. They also have great deserts that you can choose from the cabinet. Generally highly recommended, especially off peak busy hour
אייר ל — Google review
Arrived around 10AM on Friday and the place was super busy so had to get in line. My number was 26 so I decided to take a stroll around the area and see some shops and other stuff (which turned out to be a good decision since it took a whole hour and 15 minutes to get our table). After the waiting was over and finally sat down, everything turned out for the best. There’s quite a big variety of breakfast options on the menu so you can find anything g from the classical breakfast, croissants, salads, toasts and more. We took two dishes with some fresh juice and it was very good and fresh. Later we decided that there’s no way we don’t try something sweet and here I implore you to go inside and see what catches your eyes (for me it was almost everything) and get some recommendations from the staff. Everything was delicious and so good that we already decided to come back again ASAP. Some tips: Try to come early in the morning and be prepared to queue up. The good thing is that they work with an app that shows you your turn in line live. Take a stroll around (get water as it’s hot), see some shops and boutiques and random artists and musicians. Be patient with the waitresses as they are under huge pressure and it can be seen they lack some more employees (we had to wait about 10 minutes for someone to take our order and then another 10 for the bill). Overall I remember the good experience, amazing food and yummy sweets.

The Falafel restaurant Moshiko Falafel is a great place to get tasty falafel. The flat breads are big and filling, and it's also convenient to order take out. There is a small shop with a few stools inside, as well as outside on the pedestrian street for you to enjoy your meal.
Shawarma was delicious. Great quick and hearty bite. I ordered the shawarma laffa (flat bread) and it was a huge portion for me 36NIS. If you are petite, a half portion would be perfect. Ask for everything on it, and enjoy! :) The shop is small, mostly for take out. They shop has a few stools inside and 4-6 tables on the pedestrian street for you to sit and enjoy your meal. They conveniently have a sink for washing hands, but no toilet.

The falafel place to visit in Jerusalem. Great food and interesting street full of colorful characters and people from all over the world stopping by to grab a falafel. Cant go wrong with Moshiko!

I love Moshiko. First, the staff are great. While you're waiting for your order, or sometimes are just queueing up, they'll hand out delicious falafel balls fresh out the fryer. It's enough to wet your appetite for the best schwarma in town. I always visit there. I love it. And so will you! It's incredibly reasonably priced too.
Bose A — Google review
Good falafels, very friendly staff, low prices (starting from 18NIS for falafel in pita, 35NIS for falafel on a plate). Very good pita and laffa bread. They have some tables, so it's possible to sit down and eat while enjoying the view of a very alive street. Sometimes there's a line, mostly of tourists as Moshiko has their menu in English - most of the places around, with similar street food, have their menus in Hebrew only, so they don't catch that much attention of a hungry tourist. Cons - they don't have toilet; they don't serve tap water (only water in plastic bottles - what bothers my ecological conscience - for 7NIS), they serve food only on plastic plates.
Aneta M — Google review
As touristy as this place is, there's a good reason for it. Their fries stuffed pita and laffa is to Israel what a California burrito is to California. Delicious.

I visited on a Friday and had a really excellent experience! My "Jerusalem Mixed Griil" was prepared super quickly and honestly, it was one of the tastiest I've had in Israel. My only thought is that it felt a bit pricey for just one pita with a can of Coke, coming in at 72 NIS.
Daniel B — Google review
We visited this old restaurant on Agripas Street near the entrance to Mahane Yehuda Market, known since the 1970s for its “Jerusalem Mixed Grill.” Four of us sat down, and the table was quickly filled with salads, mezze, and laffa bread. We each ordered the house specialty – the Jerusalem Mixed Grill. Unfortunately, the dish was a big disappointment. The portion was very small, the meat was extremely dry, and none of us enjoyed it (all four agreed, so it wasn’t a matter of taste). The plate was just a pita with 3–4 spoons of meat on top – far from a proper main dish. Then came the bill: 538 NIS before tip for 4 mains, 2 beers, and 2 Cokes. That’s about 150 NIS per person for a tiny, dry portion – absolutely unreasonable. Service was also poor: waitresses avoided eye contact and didn’t check on us, so we had to chase after them for anything. In the past, I had tried their takeaway pita from the window, which was tasty and much more reasonable. But now, with prices of ~80+ NIS even for a pita with fries and a drink, the value is just not there.
ERAN K — Google review
I’m embarrassed to say I never been to Hatzot until tonight.. The atmosphere was beautiful & genuine, the service was attentive & fast, and the food…. After ordering, an large assortment of salads & pita bread arrived with our drinks, followed by the appetizer dishes, and later the large portion, sizzling hot, main dishes. We struggled to finish the food, interrupted by the smiley waitresses asking us if everything was alright.. In addition to being stuffed and barely able to fit more food in our stomachs, the gestures and smiles made the night. I’d give this place 7 stars out of 5, and can’t wait to be back, and being the family over for an authentic Israeli cosine experience.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ If you're searching for the best מעורב ירושלמי in Jerusalem – look no further! This place absolutely blew us away. The מעורב was flavorful, juicy, and cooked to perfection, with that signature Jerusalem-style spice that hits just right. But that’s just the beginning — we were served 16 kinds of fresh, delicious salads along with generous sides like crispy French fries, comforting mejadra, fluffy rice and beans, and a hearty bama. It felt like a feast made for royalty — so much abundance and variety! If you’re hosting someone from out of town and want to leave an unforgettable impression, this is the spot. The food, the flavors, the hospitality — truly a celebration of Israeli cuisine at its best. Highly recommended!

The walls of the restaurant are covered with photos of many famous people who have dined there over the years. The service was great and the food was plentiful. Excellent food, good vibe, lovely people. I need to come back soon to try all dishes from the menu :D The menu is not updated online but I still got the lovely soft polenta. The black truffle oil is super aromatic and goes well with the mushroom. The polenta itself is creamy and fluffy, yet not heavy at all. For the main, the fish filet came as two pieces of sea bass with surprisingly beautiful crispy skin :> The agnolotti is perfectly made and cooked, and I very much enjoyed the thick pinched slightly chewy parts. I was warned about the sourness of lemon butter, but as someone who eats lemon and drinks vinegar, I loved how it lightened the fatty fish and fatty. The roasted garlic clove is sweet and melts in mouth. I don’t usually touch garlics but I couldn’t resist finishing that one. The Spanish songs in the background is lovely and relaxing. The wine list looks impressive. The staff are super friendly and attentive.

We visited this establishment in Jerusalem for breakfast, and were shocked by how poorly we were treated. Despite at least eight empty tables in full view, we were told there was no available seating and were denied breakfast service. The reason given didn’t make any sense — and frankly, it felt like unjustified discrimination. It’s incredibly disappointing when a venue treats paying guests this way: having empty tables yet refusing to seat people is unacceptable. The policy is baffling and makes one wonder if some guests are being unfairly treated compared to others. We expected fair and courteous service, but instead we left feeling unwelcome. Could you please clarify where we can submit a formal complaint about this incident?

TL;DR Great food in a small but very nice place It's located on the street level of the Jerusalem theater. It took us some time to find it since the google maps announced we were there when we stood on the theater plaza which is the restaurant roof. The place is small with just a few tables but it offers a nice warm  space to dine in, not crowded or noisy so you can enjoy the excellent food that is served there. We got a table of 8 for a late lunch and took all you can eat/drink when they just get several firsts and mains out of the menu and you can order more of what you like. We liked them all. The food was really good there, the wine was also good and with good company it turned out to be a perfect event. We got Appetizers: - Polenta - Green salad - Za'atar coated calamari - Asparagus - Tomatoes in garlic - Shrimps - Pate en croute - Some mushroom dish Mains: -  Beef cuts -  Risotto - Sous vide chicken breast - Some other but I don't remember Desserts: - Lemon cake - Almond cake - Ice cream Everything was really good. I especially liked - Pate en croute - Beef cuts - Lemon cake Price was really good for the food we got. Parking is hard to find on the surrounding streets - we had to park a few min walk that is less present in the Jerusalem winter even with the hot sangria we got on the way out.

Finally we have something good to eat at The Jerusalem Theater! Good service, clean, cozy, spacious and most important - delicious!!! My personal suggestion - good Aperol Spritz would be just perfect at sunny afternoon (you should add it to the menu)

We love this restaurant, one of our favorites in Jerusalem for any special occasion. The atmosphere is calm and pleasant, not too loud and not over crowded. The food is very good, I dont think we ever disappointed from a dish here. The pastas are homemade and they ate terrific. The sea food is fresh and cooked to perfection. Tastes are delicate but rich and combining very well. They have a nice wine selection. The only problem with this restaurant is the parking. Not a lot of parking available near by, especially when there's an event in the nearby theatre. Luckily on Fridays and Sauterday this is not a problem at all.

High quality food and very nice decoration and atmosphere The location is also great - situated underneath the entrance plateau to the Jerusalem theater. Prices are not that steep. Only issue was the service which was incredibly slow and they forgot some of our orders (bit they did provide them free of charge as it was their fault)

Angelica is a beloved addition to the kosher fine dining scene, located in the King David's Crown residential project. Chefs Erez Mergi and Marcos Gershkowitz have successfully combined classical fine dining with a contemporary culinary approach, emphasizing seasonal menus with fresh local ingredients. The restaurant offers an excellent daily menu, an extensive wine selection with sommelier service, as well as options for business lunches and group menus.
Overall great experience! It’s a laid back atmosphere with high quality food. All the dishes were great but the goose breast was (in my opinion) the best dish I’ve had in Jerusalem. For any tourist wondering what to wear, I saw people wearing summer travel clothes while others were wearing date night attire.

I have been to Jerusalem a few times and have my favorites, but I couldn’t get into the 2 restaurants that I wanted so I took the suggestion of the front desk at Mamilla Hotel. He recommended Angelica. Looked at the pictures and was impressed. I gave it 3 stars because of the service not the food. I cleaned my plate. Food is great. Well seasoned and nicely plated. Service kinda sucked. It took awhile to get our drink orders when they took it the wine came out quick but I was one of 2 that orders a Coke Zero. It took forever to get my coke and I had to follow up. Next the waitress was rude to my sister’s boyfriend. He wanted medium rare burger. She insisted medium even medium well. It was really her attitude though. How she answered him. A little disappointed for such a nice restaurant.

The private room and the service were good, i think that for the expense and the expectations we were expecting a little more, we enjoyed the private room it was a little hot with the lights that heat, a simple switch to LED would help reduce the heat in the little room, the service remembered a lot of details but the small requests were forgotten, great food and options atmosphere was great! The sound in the private room could have been dealt with to accommodate the room more

My heart (stomach?) is broken. This used to be one of the best places to eat. It's just awful and expensive. The service was ok (no refilling of water) and an unwilingness to open a bottle of merlot to serve a glass. But the food was just terrible. The ceviche was too sweet with some passion fruit coulis that provided some color but did not allow any fish to be flavored. The carpachio wasn't that - but rather made to look to ceviche and was tasteless. The minute steaks were awful - tough and tasteless (the fries were excellent - although less good because the bad meat was slathered over them making them less crispt). There were no vegetables at all on any of the dishes! They were shades of yellow, orange and brown... nothing green... nothing that spoke of the connection of food to nature. The lemon mousse was fine and I enjoyed that... but the chocolate souffle was not cooked! How hard can a chocolate molten cake be to do right? There is a severe lack of vision... gone are the days of beautiful colors and interesting connections between dishes - a fusion of foods that made sense. This was poor quality mess. What a shame.

Angelica has not just remained consistently outstanding in terms of food and service - it has even improved which I didn’t think was possible as it was already amazing. With its perfect central location and food that will make your mouth water and will leave the most difficult diners with a smile and happy stomach - Angelica remains my favorite fine dining restaurant in Jerusalem and very possibly in the country. Very nice and testy! The food was great, and the service was very good. For the first dish we ordered the Chicken Liver Pate and Roast beef Bruschetta, both were full of great flavors and very good! For the main course we ordered the Grilled Beef Fillet which was well made and had many great and cool add-ons on the plate. Highly recommend.

Cafe
Cafe Yehoshua is a popular spot located on the border of Rechavia and Talbia neighborhoods in Jerusalem. It's known for its relaxed atmosphere, sidewalk seating, and diverse menu. In the morning, it operates as a typical cafe serving breakfast staples and sweet treats. As the day progresses, it transforms into a restaurant offering Israeli-American fusion cuisine and later transitions into a bar at night. The menu features dishes like tahini pancakes, shakshuka, and spaghetti with shrimp.
A great menu with a big variety of food types and an extensive drinks menu too. Service is excellent. The team are on the run non-stop. I recommend sitting at the bar just to see how they work. And the bar stools have very good foot rests.

Very nice place with tasty food, good selection of wines and pleasant vibe. We got salmon and beef tartare, beef tenderloins and beet and camembert salad. Everything was amazing, however, I personally would go easy on parsley for salmon tartare. One minor minus — gin & tonic comes mixed. Most places in Israel serve gin on ice and a bottle of tonic on the side — that way you control how strong your drink is. We’ll be back for sure!

Excellent! Tasty food, great service and cozy atmosphere. We were a party of 7 (about the limit for same table here...) and everyone enjoyed their breakfasts. Thanks for a wonderful experience!

The perfect place. I was in charge of finding the night’s fare in Jerusalem and was looking for a light menu with drinks….Cafe Yehoshua more than delivered! Inventive and delicious cocktails (Pink Lady which is on the dry side & Spicy Margarita-both fabulous!), shrimp in a garlic broth with vibrant tomatoes for an entree, veggie bowl and the chicken schnitzel. All delivered by lovely staff in a warm venue. This is a neighborhood gem as evidenced by the eclectic mix of patrons that streamed in over time. I was drawn by a review that mentioned a light menu but they left out the decadent desserts….bring more friends or enjoy alone with stretchy pants🤭 but don’t miss out on this incredible cafe!

One word: Shakshuka. If the rest of the menu is anywhere near as good as the shakshuka was, you are in for a treat! Cafe Yehoshua staff were great. I was enjoying the shakshuka so much I was worried I was making noises similar to the ones Meg Ryan was making in When Harry met Sally! Cafe Yehoshua gets multiple stars, or whatever the scale is!

Their passover food is the best I've tasted for a long time. Queues were enormous and there were not enough staff helping people in the shop. We didn't sit in to eat.

Friendly service. However the cappuccino was quite bland and watery. Maybe they can't do proper coffee. The salmon bagel was quite chewy. Overall disappointing. Nice location though.

Victoria — Google review
Great location and view... normal kitchen ... The place is located on a very beautiful street, where there are many shops, several cafes and restaurants, and many different small sculptures. Some of the tables are located outside and, due to the high position of that part of the street, on an elevation with a good view of a part of the city. Normal staff who can help you with an order. But the condition of the bathroom was very disappointing(the floor with puddles, the door handle of one of the cabins was almost broken, a broken seat mat). About the kitchen: I ordered one of the special dishes (seemingly thick big toast bread with tuna and omelettes on it and vegetable salad as a side dish), my wife ordered fried fish with the same salad, and my mother - ice cream and coffee. They drank red and white wine and a craft beer for me. I tried everything except coffee and ice cream and everything was very tasty, so I liked the food and drinks, except one thing, the tuna was salted more than necessary.
Alexandr O — Google review
Coffee was good. Food is interesting.... I ordered from the specials: mediterranean sea fish with tahini souce and salad. Would I come for seconds? Definitely not! Food was either over seasoned or bland. Dessert was just ok. Roladin didn't justify its reputation. Service same as food: some servers are attentive and some moseyltly ignore you. Tables are not cleaned between guests. New guests are being sitted when a table is vacated without being wiped clean. I've noticed this happening repeatedly with four different tables. (Yuck!) View is amazingly, but that's Jerusalem, not the place....

We’ve ordered a breakfast for two but shared it for 3 people, because the portions are rather generous. Various toppings and dips to eat with bread are nice, and it was a good experience overall, but some of the dips just too spicy, and some things included to this breakfast are strange, as, for example, sweet potato, which was cold and not really tasty, and omelette wasn’t fluffy. The tea I’ve ordered (chai) wasn’t flavored enough

One of my favorite brunches of our entire trip. The platters with the sauces are where this place shines. There are many types so be sure to choose wisely. Guests praise the attentive service and accommodating staff who cater to dietary restrictions with patience and expertise.
All dishes were amazing! We ordered several starters: the focaccia with sun dried tomatoes dip, pesto and plenty of olive oil (and garlic), the risotto balls in tomato sauce and the salad with blue cheese, walnuts, arugula, apple... The main dishes were also delicious. Everybody ordered another pasta dish (I forgot the names, but the caramelised onions were amazing🫣). The staff was very friendly and helpful 😁Dining here was lovely!

Cozy restaurant, nice waiters. We had the Sea fish bruschetta for starter, which was amazing, and shared the "Mushroom & Truffle Tortellini" with "Red tuna" pizza. The prices are on the expansive side (relative to other restaurants in Jerusalem), but we got a free antipasti salad. Overall, great restaurant, worth paying a visit.

We had dinner at Al Dente, and it wasn't bad, but I don't think we are going back. It's a very small and cozy place, so it's best to make a reservation. Their menu looked pretty good. We ordered for two people a starter (arancini: good but nothing special) and 2 pasta dishes (chestnut ravioli: not good at all, and tagliatelle Verde: good but very heavy). We paid 215nis. Prices are ok, but food promised to be better, we were a little disappointed...

Nestled in the bustling City Center of Jerusalem, Harvey's Smokehouse is a delightful haven for barbecue enthusiasts. This easygoing eatery specializes in an array of grilled steaks, sausages, tacos, and chicken wings, all infused with authentic American barbecue flair. As the first wood smoker in the area and one of the few across Israel, Harvey's takes pride in its slow-smoked meats that are prepared using traditional techniques over 12 to 18 hours.
A really great place for the red meat lovers! I had the lamb with yam fries and house salad. The Shapira IPA is fantastic go big on this one. The lamb was perfectly cooked and is well worth the price. I recommend sticking with the 450g because it will be plenty. It is so flavorful you won't want to waste a single bite so maybe only bring the fries home. The salad was extremely fresh. The staff was wonderful and attentive. At night, it's great ambiance with the music and local crowd. They do take reservations so if you can, reserve one of the three tables right outside the entrance for the best experience!!
Kevin K — Google review
Harvey? Are you the owner? You should give Texas style BBQ a shot. I have not eaten here or ever been to Israel. I wish I could visit. Smoke with an oak or pecan, use ONLY salt and pepper very liberally. Smoke at 225-250f to an internal temp of 208-210f. THEN wrap in butcher paper and stand that beautiful brisket a few hours at 150 f. You will have the most tender juiciest brisket ever that will hold for hours but when word gets out you will be lined out the door and down the road. ;) with love from Texas
Jerrald M — Google review
Overall good experience, probably the best smokehouse in jerusalem, but here are some issues with my experience: - on lunch time they didn’t have any beers - the brisket was ok but dry - we got a good service but they can improve it by being more professional and showing that they care about the customer more. The rest of the food was delicious and well prepared. I would recommend trying the popcorn chicken, chorizo sausages, pulled beef, even the pulled lamb was very good. A bit overpriced.
Daniel D — Google review
The waiter didn’t even ask how to cook the meat, then we had to wait 40 minutes for 3 burgers and the place was pretty empty. They really cheap out on the fries. And the prices are expensive!! YOU SHOULD AVOID THIS PLACE.
CarHeadUnit — Google review
Paper dirty menu pitcher of water dirty cups most of the meat's thay didn't have Takes long for the food to come the waiters don't know how to describe the food for example I ordered an extra fries he didn't tell me that my dish that I ordered it really comes with one I asked for some bread or crackers they charged me 22 shackle for them That's way overpriced after I drop down there more than 1,200 ILS
Yossi G — Google review
Really good food and the staff was friendly. Just pay attention that the meat prices are per 100g and not for a full portion. It seems cheap but it’s not. The meat was super tasty, the shoulder is a great option and also the chorizo. The chicken balls are amazing

Wow! When you crave BBQ - this is the place! If we had more time, we would have gone back. After three weeks of delicious Mediterranean cuisine, our taste buds were ready. Harvey's delivered! Thank you! Every item was delicious and plentiful! Burnt ends were my favorite. But can't go wrong with any that we ordered.

Awesome smoked everything and then some! We were visiting from Jamaica and getting a little tired of the typical Middle Eastern flavors so we decided to try this spot. Everything was awesome. Top notch service. Our waitress was super and so were the chefs. You can tell they enjoy their work experience. Burnt ends were the best and the serving is definitely entree size. Shared with my friend and we could barely get through it along with our main meals. Chimichanga was also delicious and large. Smoked meats were good. Creme brûlée was great. Zero complaints. Wonderful all-round.

The popular Iraqi Jewish dish Aricha Sabich is available at this kosher restaurant. It consists of fried eggplant, hard-boiled eggs, salad and tahini sauce inside a pita. The restaurant is popular with locals and tourists alike.
First time trying sabich and absolutely love it. It is so tasty and hearty. After ordering at the counter, the sabich is freshly made in front of you. The pita bread is soft and is stuffed with a generous amount of eggplants, soft boiled eggs, salad, herbs and delicious tahini sauce. It is so good that we went back immediately the day after. There are a few tables both inside and outside the place.
Jubee C — Google review
Located at the edge of Mahane Yehuda market, Arica Sabich offers just one thing: sabich, the combination of fried eggplant, slow-cooked egg, amba, chili sauce, tahini, hummus, and salads (cucumber, tomato, onions, pickles, herbs) in a freshly-baked pita or on a plate. The sabich here was traditional and rustically assembled. The slow-cooked egg was sliced and crushed, so it had a nice creamy consistency in the sandwich, and the highlight was the soft, chewy pita that held all the ingredients together.
David K — Google review
Omg the best! We come here twice a day because it's so fresh and only about $6. Very satisfying mix of 8 hour cooked hard boiled egg, hummus, fresh veggies, and various magical sauces combined to make an explosive taste sensation that will have you coming back as a daily pilgrimage.

The pita is fresh from the oven, the ingredients are delicious and perfectly balanced, and the staff are courteous and lightning-fast. A note of caution: no matter how hard you try to eat neatly, you’ll still get tahini all over you… but it’s definitely worth it!

Fantastic kosher hamburgers for good prices. The value meal is very good. For 55 shekels you get a main dish, a side dish and a drink. I chose the Mexican burger, 240 grams of a good, spicy burger, accompanied by the house's fries. Both were very tasty and satisfying. You can add many toppings to the hamburgers as well, including duck liver and more.

Great take on burgers as an American. Spices match the descriptions and were a complement to the burgers for sure, not a distraction or novelty. Lovely service despite the hectic pace as it was packed. Definitely recommend after a tough evening shopping at the market!

Very good burgers, fries, and onion rings. The service was excellent considering it was crowded and busy.

Superb burger, great atmosphere and service. will definitely come back. I had the spicy burger (cant recall its name..) and it was great.. and really spicy. We were three of us - one ordered the burger with tahini which he said was great and the vegan friend ordered a vegan burger which was also very good. As a side order I took the sweet potatoes fries - I didn't really like it - too oily.

Mexican restaurant
Tacos Luis is a delightful gem nestled in the heart of downtown Jerusalem, where the vibrant flavors of Mexico come alive. This kosher Mexican meat restaurant, founded by Luis Cruz Salinas Hernandez from Oaxaca, offers an array of mouthwatering dishes that include tacos al pastor, nachos, churros, and more.
Delicious food! Absolutely would recommend. Very nice staff. The tables are quite small and it's crowded (no wonder with the good food they have), so its better for casual meet- ups and not meetings or dates.
Leonard D — Google review
For being in Jerusalem, this taco spot does a decent job with what they have. The tacos aren’t exactly authentic Mexican, but they capture the general idea pretty well with fresh ingredients and good flavor. That said, the portions were on the smaller side. I ordered 4 tacos, and it cost around 70 shekels (roughly $21 USD). For that price, I expected either more food or something a bit more filling. Still, if you’re craving tacos while in Jerusalem and you’re not expecting true Mexican street food, this place is worth a visit. Just know you’re paying a bit more for the novelty and location.
Tc P — Google review
No joke or exaggeration, The best tacos I’ve ever had in my life. The service is amazing. The place looks good but these freaking tacos are just amazing. I had a mix of two chicken and one beef and I cannot wait to come back to Israel for more!!!!
Jonny J — Google review
One of the few authentic Mexican spots in Israel. It’s a small location and the lines can be long depending on the day and season, but that shows how much people enjoy it!
Avi H — Google review
Excellent! Just wanting something a little different than the usual fare we decided to check this gem out. Super friendly service and probably the best tacos I’ve had from around the world. I was skeptical being so far from Latin America but they did not disappoint. The tortillas are amazing and so not fall apart. It’s a treat watching them make them. I won’t say if it’s expensive or cheap as that’s subjective to each person. However we did find good value for the price. Even busy the food comes quick. So if your Hangry this might be a great choice if your in the area. In the end I highly recommend this taco joint. Beautiful area for a stroll after or before dinner as well.

Very authentic Mexican Street food, made and served by real Mexicans in the heart of Jerusalem. I come here a lot and always have a great meal. Recommend choosing one of the colourful drinks (I'm not going to try and remember the names) and the churros as a desert.

Delicious tacos, loved the chicken option!! Super flavourful and spiced with fresh lime and veggies on the side. The workers were really kind and gave me their recommendations as well. Highly recommend!

Good place for Mexican food, tacos mainly. We took the 2 kinds of chicken and 2 kinds of meat, which were served nicely and were tasty. The dish is small and the price per unit is good. (About 16Nis. per unit)

Bar
Nestled in the vibrant heart of Machane Yehuda, Hatch is a must-visit spot for food and drink enthusiasts. This lively kosher bar has emerged as a beacon of culinary creativity within Jerusalem's bustling open-air market, which has undergone an impressive transformation in recent years. Once known for its modest eateries, the shuk now boasts an eclectic mix of gourmet cafes and trendy dining establishments.
This just was one of the best beers I have ever had! The ember ale, was so great, and has a little bitter aftertaste, which I love. The sandwich was also great. Tasteful an crunchy. Thanks, I'll come back for sure!
Paz L — Google review
The food was good, I’ll give them that, but the service…Shameful. I stumbled upon the place in the Shuk, and it looked solid so I ordered a small bite, after waiting for a while I approached the cashier to ask how long it would take, and mentioned that I’d be waiting half an hour, he not only was not accommodating but audaciously “corrected me” saying it had only been 28 minutes. I proceeded to wait an additional 32 minutes before receiving my sandwich, it was delicious but honestly the attitude of the staff, and the waiting time, made it an experience I would not wholeheartedly recommend.
Ava A — Google review
Fun place to stop at in the shuk for finger licking good wings!!! I have never had such good wings, they were perfectly done. Such a good crispy exterior and amazing sauces. I loved the Chipotle Maple and my boys loved the Classic Buffalo 🔥🔥🔥 Really friendly service, definitely a place you’ll want to hit if you’re in Machane Yehuda.

Wow! I heard about it and I finally went. I’m glad I did! The service was friendly and quick. The food was delicious!!! The beer was amazing and the froze is definitely unique. Not much seating area so you might wanna come at an empty hour. Can’t wait to come back and try more wings!

Finding a place around the market could be sometimes very chaotice. Beautiful place place, local beer, I am not into beers, so of course I have my classic Gin&Tonic, the food portions where perfect both in presentation and flavours and off course the customer service superb.

We took a walk over to the Machane Yehuda market and discovered this gem in the middle of the highly sensory overloaded experience. Over the past few years, the market has been turned into this fantastic night life, we had check out the market where people of every race, colour and creed sit together. Now let’s discuss Hatch. We walked into this tiny kiosk like space, turned into a hip cafe. They were blasting hits from the 90s. Everything seemed so intentionally designed with the Post-Millennial in mind. We opted for the the Beer Tasting. We had four incredible beers. The sour ale was by far the best sour beer I had ever tasted. It was not too sour and didn’t leave an after taste that makes everything taste sour for the next 3 days. There was a nice smooth finish that wasn’t bitter like other sours I’ve had. Beer the call the Pizza Beer was fun alternative. The other two beers the Pilsner and lager were creative and open. Loved it. The beer is all made right there. The beer maker “Mendy” was there while this little joint was hopping with people. Really liked that were served an reusable and paper. No plastic is used there... an Israeli first for me. I must mention the kosher certification. It’s a great certification and they are proud of it. They even had the Mashgiachs number listed one the menu. Will definitely be back before we leave Jerusalem.

Cafe Bastet, located just a short walk from Zion Square in the City Center, is an LGBTQ-friendly vegetarian cafe that serves creative variations of classic Israeli dishes. The menu includes vegan shakshuka, black lentil hummus, and vegan hot chocolate. This cozy spot offers breakfast all day and changes its specials regularly. It's also known for its vegan takes on Middle Eastern street food like shawarma and pita sandwiches.
Street corner Cafe with indoor and outdoor seating. Very welcoming staff. Vegetarian and vegan friendly. Open during the Shabbat. I had their special, which was a stew with tomatoes, onions, chickpeas, spinach and tofu "fish". Accompanied by bread and mint chutney. The food was excellent. And not too expensive. Highly recommend!
Shankar V — Google review
A really cute little cafe. The service was friendly and given with a genuine smile. There’s seating room inside and outside. We ordered lattes and vegan sandwiches: one with artichokes and the other with cashew cheese. They were tasty, but needed a little more flavor for my palate. The latte was real good, though. The barista knows what she’s doing. The prices are a little high. Two large lattes and two sandwiches for ₪86 seems to put this cute cafe on the more expensive side. Might as well eat in Tel Aviv. The service was friendly and courteous. Tel Aviv should take a lesson. One issue is that the outside seating area (street) is on a slope, and the owners should find a way to make the table and chairs level. The bathroom was quite clean, but I like a bathroom that is spotless and completely hygienic and that smells good. Perhaps offer those paper toilet seat covers. But this one has a window, which helps a lot to keep it aired out. The clientele seemed cool and intelligent. All in all - a very nice experience.

JahnunBar is a Yemenite sandwich place known for its signature dish, the jahnun, but visitors rave about the malawich. The malawich features freshly cooked flaky flatbread topped with delicious sauces, a hard-boiled egg, and veggies. It's described as a saucy, flaky, and greasy marvel that's perfect for curing a hangover.
The owner is here during the day and he makes an UNFORGETTABLE wrap. Ask him to make it the way he likes if you’re not too picky and indulge in the best shakshuka wrap of your life!!!!! The evening staff is good as well but the owner’s personality is a really fun part of the experience!
Daphne R — Google review
The guys at the counter are very actively showing off but it is fun to watch. The malawach is great here indeed, the pastry is buttery and crispy, and you can choose the fillings including sauces, spreads, fresh veggies, hard boiled eggs etc. It costs 30 NIS, and it is pretty sizeable, best place to eat the the market.
Viktor L — Google review
8.27.17 - fast and fresh. I'm not sure if this is a chain, but we ordered the memulawach and it was darn good. The bread is flaky, light, and chewy. The filling is flavorful and filling. Awesome fast food with really nice service.
A L — Google review
The shakshuka is okay, but not nearly as good as homemade. Too much tomato paste and canned crushed tomatoes being used instead of fresh, so it's a little sour. Very little red pepper or other vegetables in the sauce. The eggs were cooked well however (half done yolk) and the grilled garlic bread was tasty. Enough for two people to share for breakfast for 35 shekels.
Lu X — Google review
I still have dreams about the shakshuka wrap. Last time I was in Israel I took a day trip from tel Aviv to Jerusalem just to go to Jahnun bar. Everything here is so good wow.
Tyler T — Google review
The best jachnun!!!! Easy to find but no seating inside, however there’s a little park area across the seat with benches. Not much choice here so luckily the only real thing to think about is whether or not you want an egg in it. Do it. You won’t regret it. It’s a malawah wrap with egg and other goodies inside. Fresh and made to order
Mitchell G — Google review
Lovely little vegetarian bistro serving delicious middle eastern cuisine. Friendly staff, reasonable prices and explosion of tastes these meals bring onto your palate. There are couple of tables outside, make sure you watch the preparation, it is quite a show ;-)
Jan C — Google review
The main dishes here are jahhnun and melawwahh. The place has a kosher certificate. I had the melawwahh. It is somewhat like a moist thick fried pancake, filled with your choice of delicious dairy and vegetarian toppings, and folded up. It filled me up for only 25 NIS. The workers show off a bit, flipping the melawwahh high in the air. ADDED: Now during coronavirus, these are things you can eat conveniently standing up or walking. The price hasn't gone up, and the taste, if anything, has gotten even better!

If you're on the hunt for an exceptional pizza experience, look no further than Craft Pizza. This gem is renowned for its meticulously crafted sourdough crust, which takes a remarkable three days to prepare! Located in the vibrant Shuk Machne Yehuda, Craft Pizza serves up slices that are bursting with flavor and creativity. From classic toppings to unique options like grilled zucchini and kalamata olives, there's something to satisfy every palate.
I had the pleasure of trying Pizza Craft recently, and I have to say, it was one of the best pizzas I've ever had! The crust was perfectly crispy and the toppings were fresh and flavorful. The staff was also very friendly and helpful. The only downside was that it was a bit expensive, but in my opinion, it was worth it for the high quality of the food. Overall, I highly recommend Pizza Craft for anyone looking for an excellent pizza experience.

Excellent pizza and well priced! I split a cheese pizza with a friend and we both really enjoyed it. It was hot, cheesy, and perfectly cooked in the oven. I think my only real complaint is that we took it to go because the place got a bit smoky from the oven! Definitely recommend.

Craft Pizza: A Legendary Spot for Late Nights Looking for an unforgettable late Thursday or Saturday night? Look no further than Craft Pizza – a legendary place that is truly one-of-a-kind. Brace yourself for a potentially long line, but count your lucky stars if you secure a table in this sought-after venue. Trust us, it's worth it! Their pizza is nothing short of legendary, with flavors and toppings that will transport your taste buds to new heights. Personally, I went with the mushroom and plain slice and was quite satisfied. And let's not forget their incredible dipping sauce, although sharing it may not always be their strong suit. But fear not, because the pizza alone is enough to satisfy your cravings. The laid-back vibe at Craft Pizza adds to the overall experience, making it the perfect spot to unwind. Now, let's talk drinks. While the drink menu may be limited, they do offer a refreshing selection of seltzer, coke and diet coke in glass bottles. If you're in need of water, you can conveniently find it next door. But don't let that deter you; the flavors, quality, and ambiance at Craft Pizza more than make up for it. So, why wait? Plan your visit to Craft Pizza and embark on a culinary journey that will leave you craving more. Don't miss out on this extraordinary Pizza Shuk experience!

Taboon & Wine is a delightful culinary gem nestled just inside the New Gate, where you can indulge in the unique flavors of Levantine cuisine. The star of the show is Taboon, a traditional flatbread baked in a clay oven that boasts a bubbly texture and serves as an ideal wrap for delicious fillings like falafel, hummus, or savory meats. This charming spot offers not only mouthwatering dishes but also an impressive selection of local wines by the glass and bottle.
This place serves Armenian dishes along with a limited wine menu. The food is wonderful; the wine good. We especially enjoyed the Armenian Jajekh Salad, the (generous) Aubergine with Tahini, and the Za'atar & White cheese in Taboon. Pretty much all the tables were full while we were there; there's no obvious way to make a reservation on the web site. But it's worth a wait, if you decide to go.
John W — Google review
There are nice wines and variety. We took an argentinean malbec which price was around 70% more than in wine shops which is normal. The waiter brought the wine with the cork half out, opened next to me and just left... It is a wine bar so I was a little shocked that he didn't pour me to taste. Anyway the wine was excellent. The pizza burrata is very good, focaccias are very good. Plates of cheese and charcuterie are not worth the price in my opinion. There was no desserts.
Sofia C — Google review
Cosy small friendly venue, local wines as well as from the rest of the world. The daily dessert was a Kenafa, perfectly baked with just the right amount of sugar not to cover the cheese and pistachio. The manouches were super good and the Nadim Bitouni wine aged 2019 was a nice discovery. A place to stop by, with friends in a small group (max 6 people). Typical dishes with fresh ingredients. Smiley professional and super fast staff: you can get a bottle as well as a glass of wine, plenty of choice from the shelves.
Alessia B — Google review
Really good food and local wine with friendly service. A lovely place just inside the New Gate to grab a glass or two of local wine and have some delicious food. Friendly staff, nice selection of wines by the glass as well as by the bottle. We've eaten there twice now and tried lots of different dishes (and all of their wines by the glass) and each one was a treat in its own way, you just can't go wrong here. The house read Cabernet from Monte was a big hit with me as was the Jascala Rose for my wife. The burrata is off-the-hook good and a special treat for sure.

Nestled within the labyrinthine streets of East Jerusalem's Old City lies Al-Baghdadi Restaurant, a culinary treasure steeped in history. The restaurant's roots trace back to Baghdad, where the owner honed his craft of creating mouthwatering kebabs from scratch. Using a unique technique involving a curved sword for mixing minced lamb with fresh herbs and spices, each dish is prepared right before your eyes.
You cannot miss this place! This place is run by super nice and humble family. There is no menu - owner will let you know what he got and what can be served. We’ve also met some locals there. The food was super delicious and we payed really reasonable price. Reccomend!

The best beef kebab, grilled chicken, hummus and Arabic salad in the Old City 🙌🏼 the flavors are so incredible and everything made fresh. Bonus: the owner is so kind and welcoming. We ate here 4 times during our stay- great value and unbeatable flavor. It’s a must try! Do not miss this hidden gem. For 4 skewers, hummus, Arabic salad and all the pita, it cost us approximately 100 NIS

Surprised that there are so few reviews after that Mark Weins exposure. I was looking forward to this place for a long time...and it didn't disappoint. It nearly did though as we showed up twice on a day when they weren't open. Thankfully, they were opened later in the week because it's not a straightforward restaurant to locate. Refer to the GPS coordinates posted in an earlier comment. The uncle is now in his mid 80s and no longer cooks, but his son has taken over. The best hummus and kebabs we tasted in Jerusalem! It's a small restaurant and the variety is small, but whatever they have, is EXCELLENT! Value priced too.

This restaurant is like eating at home : 3 tables, no menu. Choose between kebab (40nis), chicken skewers (40) and lamb (60). Hummus&salad (10) are really good . Choose and let the magic happen!

Hidden jewel in old Jerusalem; It's not very easy to find this tiny restaurant, but definitely worth it! Handmade kebabs and hummus, prepared just after order - fresh and tasty. The most affordable and tasty place to eat within the walls. The beef kabab prepared fresh right before eyes and grilled over coal fire, is simply heavenly! The humus and the finely chopped veg gies salad in a creamy dressing is simply fantastic! When you are in Jerusalem, Al-Baghdadi is a must try place! You cannot leave Jerusalem w/o having eaten at Al-Baghdadi Restaurant. It's open 7 days a week from 9am - 8pm. Now a days they have changed schedule and on Mondays they remain open, When planning to visit on Monday do inquire first on their number +972 2-627-6812 How to reach: As the Bab Hutta St is not to be found anywhere on Google, simply enter the Lions Gate and walk straight. It is not somewhere you would stumble across - you will find the small restaurant off the Lions Gate road, towards the gate itself, with a sign directing you 200m down towards the restaurant. The owner was extremely friendly and kind, and the kebab (lamb, beef or chicken) was the best we have ever tried, along with the hummus and bread. Also incredibly reasonably priced compared to the rest of the city. Highly recommended!
Sofia B — Google review
This was a cozy and intimate restaurant with limited seating. I visited this restaurant during lunchtime with two other companions, and we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of food and service. The standout dish for us was the hummus, which we all agreed was the best we had tasted in Jerusalem. The food was not only delicious but also affordable compared to other restaurants we visited during our trip. One thing to note is that they only accept cash payments, no credit cards. However, this shouldn't deter you from trying out this gem of a restaurant! Overall, if you're in Jerusalem and looking for a tasty and budget-friendly meal, I would definitely recommend giving Al-Baghdadi Restaurant a visit.

Nestled in the vibrant Malcha Technology Park, Tamara Cafe offers a delightful escape with its serene ambiance and stunning views of Jerusalem's mountains. This charming cafe and restaurant specializes in high-quality Italian cuisine, featuring an array of delectable dishes such as chestnut pizza, crispy salmon, and banana brulee for dessert. With a menu that caters to both casual diners and those seeking unique culinary experiences, Tamara Cafe is perfect for lunch or dinner.
My friend and I had a delicious pizza and gnocchi, and other options looked fantastic as well. Service was great, very polite and food was served quickly. Prices are not cheap, but reasonable when considering the high level of the dishes and the location. The place was packed but it didn't feel as horrible as you would expect, it was not awfully noisy, so the acoustics are probably good.
Sunny S — Google review
Sat there a few times for a coffee or dinner. They have a variety of sitting options inside/outside, a versatile menu, and good food. However, in contrast to what's very common in Israel, they have hardly anything vegan; when I asked for a vegan dish, the waiter looked at me as if I had just arrived from the moon. It's high time also for more religious people (most of the workers and the hosts there are religious) to understand the strong linkage between Judaism and ecological awareness and animal rights.
Itamar C — Google review
Cozy place, very warm and welcoming. There's a place to sit inside and outside(for the smokers among us). excellent and fast service. Food is tasty, served in big plates. Can easily be enough for 2 ppl. Definitely worth the price. Not my first time here nor my last :))
Lola D — Google review
A stunning cafe with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, and free parking, which is rare in the city. This is pretty much it for the positives. I will now move on to the negatives; The menu is extremely basic, ever so boring. It should also be noted that they offer electronic menus (tablets) which is not to my liking, since it gives a cheap, chain-restaurant vibe, though that is a personal preference. The food was awful for the high pricing. The cauliflower was just horrible. We couldn't even finish half. My sandwich was half empty and uneven, and the toast was... fine. Nothing special. As for the service, it was not welcoming. The staff behaved as if they were sick of the job and forced to be there. Altogether, it was a disappointing, expensive experience. I probably won't visit again.
Reema G — Google review
Busy and contemporary but depending on the table might not be the best for talking ir meeting. Good for practical and tasty meals.
Etas S — Google review
The service was great! Seating inside or outside. Part view of the grass and trees and other side mountain with property developments at work. The menu is big so my guess is its pre prepared and not fresh from scratch. Taste is ok. Prices are ok
S. A — Google review
was so bad I didn't felt welcomed, the welcoming was so bad he didn't smile and it felt like he looked down on us and didn't want me to be there, they put pressure and I felt neglected, the food was alright but made want to vomit from how unbalanced the cheese was. even at the end they told us to leave twenty percent without our concern and took a lot of money from us. the atmosphere was hard to breath, it smelled and I was uncomfortable. never going there again.

Aka is a Turkish kebab restaurant located near Shuk Machane Yehuda, offering a unique twist on traditional shawarma. Their veal and pistachio kebab served in Lavash Flatbread with optional parev yogurt has garnered praise for its outstanding flavor. The menu also features goose leg confit sandwiches and goose fat roasted potatoes. While the prices are considered a bit high, many find the culinary experience to be well worth it.
This shawarma is so different and better than regular shawarmas, that other shawarmas seem to me a waste of my time and money
Rami S — Google review
Good taste, different than I used too(vegan yogurt and cashew) but it was nice. The only reason for 3 stars is because the portion isn't big enough, no fries included with the meal, and for the price of 64 shekels it's not worth it.
Daniel — Google review
Excellent doner place in the most famous market in JLM. They take the laffa (or wrap) which is very thin and rub it against the meat to absorb all the flavor, add some almond- garlic paste (scordilia), tomatoes, red onion and yoghurt. A bit pricy imo but delicious 🔥
Yaniv B — Google review
Great place for a good meal, I visited with a group for quick snack. Was tasty. No parking.
Eyal T — Google review
I had veal shawarma wrap. The salt flavour was a bit overpowering in my opinion, but it was nice with kicks of pistachio paste and mango sauce. English menu was available
Natsumi O — Google review
איכות לפנים! טעים וטרי מומלץ מאוד! One of the best shawarmas I have ever had although this is a bit different from the more common shawarma has more quality to it, this is real veal meat with pistachios
Gil C — Google review
The perfect bite- with every bite! The only downside is the ridiculously high price for a pretty small dish.

Nestled on the bustling Ben Yehuda Street, Katsefet Ice Cream is a must-visit for anyone with a sweet tooth. This charming shop offers an impressive selection of ice cream flavors, from beloved classics to innovative local specialties. Not only do they serve delightful ice cream, but their crepes and Belgian waffles are also crowd favorites. The vibrant atmosphere attracts both locals and tourists alike, making it an ideal stop while exploring the city.
One of my favorite ice cream spots in Jerusalem. They have the most amazing crepes and Belgium waffles. There’s a ton of flavor options and everything is always delicious and fresh.
Teveria2020 — Google review
Delicious ice cream, frozen yogurt, and hot crepes and waffles. Many different yummy flavors to choose from! Always worth it to stop by. Was pretty busy .
Elisheva S — Google review
Ice cream, shakes, fro yo joint. Clearly already very popular on gmaps. Any way saw some amazing looking fro-yo so had to get me some. Perfect base yoghurt good enough to eat on its own. I went for fruits only. Shame as they had no Mango, so berries and passion fruit for the win.
Fasih R — Google review
While we waited for our hotdogs from next door, we decided to grab a small family pack to take with us. For 58 shekels, we got four flavors (abt 1-2 scoops each), 4 cones, four containers of sprinkles and cups. The sorbet was delicious (as was the bubblegum ice cream). They were friendly and it was easy to order. They had lots of flavors.

Goldy's | גולדיס' - בית ישראל אוכל מוכן ובייקרי is a unique establishment in Jerusalem that offers an unparalleled variety of food options. Their assortment of Latkes is unmatched, and they have introduced innovative flavors like "Netanyahu," lemon meringue, cotton candy, praline, and caramel popcorn doughnuts for 2022.
Goldy’s Restaurant Review Our family recently traveled to Israel to celebrate a Bar Mitzvah, and we entrusted Goldy’s for the catering of our special event. To say they exceeded our expectations would be an understatement. The food was simply outstanding – every dish was bursting with flavor and beautifully prepared. However, what truly set Goldy’s apart was the level of care, guidance, and attention to detail they provided throughout the entire process. From the moment we first reached out to them, their team made us feel confident and cared for, ensuring that everything would be perfect for our occasion. Even though we opted for a take-out option, the presentation of the food was impeccable. It was clear they took great pride in their work, and every element was thoughtfully designed to add to the joy of our celebration. We’ve already decided that Goldy’s is our go-to for any future needs, whether for another big event or just to enjoy their incredible food again. If you're in Israel and looking for top-tier cuisine paired with unmatched service, Goldy’s is the place to call. Highly recommended!

Avoid this place! walked over 20 minutes to Goldies for Shabbos food. I arrived literally two minutes after the posted closing time, but everything was still open inside, and people were still buying. I could clearly see staff serving others, yet they refused to let me in after such a long walk. Very frustrating and disappointing. Terrible customer service - no flexibility or consideration. I would strongly recommend avoiding this place. If I could give less than one star, I would. I went back the next day their prices are crazy expensive and the food issue so good!
Family 1 — Google review
If I would be able to put less than 1 star for service, would do that. Ordered food online for dinner it took 3 hours to receive delivery and got it cold as in cold from fridge! It was never warmed up. (when ordered specified it should be hot) French fries cold, anyone? Common sense, why would they think someone would eat for dinner cold French fries. Called in, they offered to resend food warm. After 20 minutes got it... food was still slightly cold and was not tasty. Anyway, who needs dinner at 11:30.... food went straight to the garbage.

It's good. But it's blown out of proportion... Overrated Average meal 80 shekel

This is a Kosher restaurant located inside a well known "Takeout" establishment. The food is terrific, fresh and inexpensive. We had a whole chicken meal for two for under $10 US. They also have catering halls upstairs which we have successfully used in the past. We ate sesame chicken, 3 types of schnitzel, spaghetti, and my wife had Musaka.

Nestled away from the hustle and bustle, Primitivo offers a delightful escape with its cozy and informal atmosphere. While the menu may not be extensive, it focuses on quality dishes crafted from seasonal ingredients. Standout options include the beef carpaccio and cappellacci, which are sure to impress. The restaurant's design creates a lovely ambiance complemented by soft music that allows for easy conversation. Although wine enthusiasts might appreciate their selection more than others, it's worth noting that there’s no tap beer available.
one of my best Burgers i hade. Really delicious fresh food. Amazing food we got free alcohol shoots. You have to try it. The taste still in my mouth. I can tell it’s recommended from my side
Louie F — Google review
Very good food. Short menu but very well designed. We ordered 2 tapas and one main dish for two people. No drinks. It was 200NIS. The steak was good, the risotto however not great. The calamari and beef tartar tapas were really good! Small cozy nice place!

Primitovo it's a very hight quality restaurant, is open on saturday and the food is delicious, we came with a baby and it was fantastic, the staff are very kind and we felt there is a very good service there, there is music there but its not hight and you can feel free to talk normaly. The only problem is the parking but on saturday there is no problem with that. We will visit there again soon for sure.

Really great place. The food is really good, great service. I loved the design of the place, music and overall mood is really nice. Not too expensive, I'd say very good value for money. We came with our month old baby, the staff were very helpful with finding a suitable table and made sure we were comfortable. I'd highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice, non-kosher place in Jerusalem.
Avishay W — Google review
This is a nice little place, hidden away from public by it's location. Since I'm not a wine enthusiast, I can't really appreciate their wine card, but with such a nice bar they have here, it's a real pity there are no quality tap beers. While the menu isn't very wide, the food is tasty. Some dishes are quite special, while others aren't surprising. The hamburger, for instance, is very mainstream, though not a bad one. The carpaccio could use a bit of balsamic vinegar to my taste, and wasn't as thin as expected. The service is good, and the bartender is funny. The music isn't loud, and it looks child-friendly in general.
