Cafe
La Puerta Falsa Restaurant, a 200-year-old establishment located near Plaza de Bolivar, is a beloved spot for locals and visitors alike. This cozy cafe has been frequented by well-known figures such as writers, actors, and ex-presidents. The menu features traditional Bogotano home-cooked meals including Ajiaco and Chocolate Completo.
It is the most famous place to have Sancochos and Tomales for a reason. It is claimed to be the oldest restaurant in Bogota to serve these culturally iconic dishes and it does not betray the expectations. Worth the wait and you will probably have to wait up to 30 minutes before you get in but I still highly recommend it. The staff is friendly and the place is cosy.
Simo C — Google review
What can I say… it was worth the wait! The food was delicious and the service was great, even though some people seemed to have their doubts :( The place is small, so a little patience is needed — but totally worth it. Great flavor!!! Highly recommended!
Art — Google review
I want to really give a shout out to the patient, friendly staff here. This place is so famous and so busy that it would be easy to be bored or irritable. But true to Colombian culture, everyone really treated me as an individual and wanted to make sure I got what I needed and had a positive experience. Wait time was around 15 min and then I was seated at the bar area. I ordered the classics, chocolate completo and the tamale. I’d describe it as good, solid comfort food (and generous portions). The tamale tasted very fresh and the chicken meat inside was still on the bone. My bill came to COL 28,000. Sat next to a woman from Bogotá who came for the tamale (an enthusiastic repeat customer) and loved the place for the food and the rich history, so it’s interesting to see that the appeal is not just for tourists.
Isaac L — Google review
Just stopped in to grab some dessert. Had the milk flan and the sweet curd. Both were good. The place fills up quickly and there are not a lot of places to sit…so get there early or be ready to wait. The service was quick.
Team T — Google review
After a city bike ride, a few of us ducked into this crowded institution — Colombia’s oldest restaurant, or so they say. Big queues, packed tables, no-frills service. You come here for tradition, not innovation. • The Chicken Soup: I’m not a soup guy, but this one? It had soul. Comforting. No bold spices, just warmth. • The Tamale: Possibly the best I’ve had in South America. Hearty, tender, wrapped in flavor. • Atmosphere: Noisy, rushed, authentic. Feels like grandma’s place, if your grandma ran a war-time kitchen. • Locals: Everywhere. Drinking coffee, tea, or grabbing a quick bite. • Scores: • Food: 8.5/10 • Atmosphere: 9/10 • Value: 7.5/10 • Worth it? Definitely — come early or wait long.
Nuwan A — Google review
This restaurant, one of the oldest in Bogota, is a must-visit for breakfast. Their tamal with hot chocolate is a must-try. For lunch, we had the Ajiaco, which was amazing. Their menu is authentic and delicious, and everything is worth trying. There’s limited seating, so there’s often a line, but tables rotate quickly, so you don’t have to wait too long. Definitely worth the wait.
Carolina B — Google review
What an unforgettable cultural experience! Located just steps away from Plaza Bolívar, El Palacio de Justicia, and La Catedral, La Puerta Falsa offers a true taste of Colombian tradition. The hot chocolate with cheese and fresh bread was absolutely delicious, comforting and rich with authentic flavor. The ajiaco was incredible, perfectly seasoned and hearty. From the warm service to the cozy, historic ambiance, everything felt like a step back in time. A must-visit spot for anyone wanting to savor the heart of Bogotá! 🇨🇴🍫🍲✨
Ricardo R — Google review
Tamales were great! The chocolate con queso was not. They make it with water instead of milk so I would suggest you get that somewhere else. Besides that, it’s in a great location, in a very historic building and I loved the ambience. Extremely fast-paced and buzzing.

Fine dining restaurant
Restaurant
Leo, the flagship restaurant of Basque World Culinary Prize winner Leonor Espinosa, is a top dining destination in Colombia. The restaurant is renowned for its sustainable approach to gastronomy through the Funleo foundation, which supports rural Colombian communities. Leo's CYCLE-BIOME menu, created in collaboration with Leonor's daughter and sommelier Laura Hernandez-Espinosa, showcases 20-plus courses inspired by Colombian biodiversity.
An outstanding experience end to end. I tried the 12-course menu and the non-alcoholic pairing, and except for two of the uncountably many drinks, everything was simply perfect. In most of these experiences there is something that doesn't work, or that doesn't impress; at Leo everything kept me interested, engaged, and pleased. The food was delicious, the non-alcoholic drinks were complex and varied, the ingredients were very interesting. I would hand down be happy to get any of the courses again, or as a main meal. What they've done is amazing.
Javier K — Google review
Overall a fantastic meal. I slightly preferred ElCielo in Medellín and Celele in Cartagena, but Leo is still unmissable in Bogotá. (Did the lunch tasting menu on a Friday in early June 2025; easy to book last minute) Food 🟢 Most dishes were delicious, beautifully presented, and made with rare ingredients sourced from all around Colombia. Loved that they served 8 incredible amuses bouches. The creamy seafood rice, the pacu cooked 3 ways, and the heart of palm dessert were unreal. 🟡 They served only one dessert — disappointing for a tasting menu of this caliber. 🟡 The portions were particularly small and we walked out hungry — the only fine dining restaurant we tried in Colombia this happened. 🔴 One of the most gorgeous dishes of my life (the cheese & flower dish) was so floral & salty it was difficult to eat — very rare at a top restaurant. Cocktails 🔴 Our first cocktails tasted so offputting that we had to return them (El Maíz and Río Magdalena) and the others were mediocre at best (Bougainvillea & Azulón Amazónico). Overall the cocktails were very unbalanced and just tasted… bad. Very surprising considering their award-winning cocktail bar is next door. Service/Ambiance 🟢 The service was very good. Most servers didn’t speak great English but I’ll never forget the general manager. His presence alone made the meal memorable and I wish I remembered his name. 🟡 With its high ceiling and tables far apart, the ambiance felt a little cold. 🟡 We asked for extra bread, which they kindly baked just for us, but didn’t warn us it would take an extra hour. If we had known, we wouldn’t have ordered.
Mathias A — Google review
A very polished experience. The tasting menu weaves Colombian biodiversity into each dish, with ingredients sourced from indigenous communities and ecosystems across the country. It feels like a story told through flavors, textures, and even unexpected elements (think ants, Amazonian fruits, and native herbs). The cocktails are a standout - they have a sister cocktail bar/restaurant if you’re looking for a more casual dining experience. Overall would recommend!
Elaine ( — Google review
I support Leo’s philosophy, the fact that they prioritize ingredient sourcing above all else, and their avant-garde approach to cuisine; in fact, it’s what drew me to invest in a dining experience here. Tasting esoteric Colombian ingredients was certainly a highlight. Aside from this, however, I found the food extremely disappointing. As someone who cooks every day in a kitchen, to me it seems like their cooks are not tasting/quality-checking the food they’re putting out. Both my partner and I (and I tend to season on the aggressive side) found almost every bite to be too heavily salted in a way that overtook the nuances of the very ingredients they intended to highlight. Their risotto came out way shy of al dente, and also extremely salty. I really couldn’t believe it. Their quail bone broth, which we were instructed to savor alone with a special straw, had the flavor of a muddy onion stock that boiled too hard and didn’t get skimmed properly. Many of the hot dishes we received were room temperature by the time they were served. If it were any other restaurant, you would simply send these dishes back, have them corrected, and move on with your night; for an experience like this, however, it feels rude and interrupts the flow of the evening to do this. When you’re paying this much though, these things should never happen in the first place. We enjoyed the dessert courses the most, so I have those pictured here. Many thanks to the pastry chef. I don’t generally support negative reviews because I understand how hard it can be to make people happy and because I know what it’s like to be on the receiving end of them. At the same time, however, in this case both potential diners and the restaurant itself should both be made aware of these issues which is why I felt the need to share my experience indiscriminately.
Hannah B — Google review
Had the 8 course meal. Focus was on ingredients that average Americans (like us) can't pronounce. Sourced from locations that the average Americans can't find on a map. Presented through a lens of cultural intersectionality that the average Americans can't de-politicize. So... Colombian all around and spectacular at that. Flavor, texture, plating, presentation, and pacing are all excellent. Playful, innovative, and authentically local. Service, without the white table cloth formality, was professional hospitality at its best: amiable and comfortable. Especially appreciated the accommodation for an "insect free" dietary restriction.
Tyler C — Google review
Leo is the best restaurant in Colombia. Its chef has truly earned her reputation. The tasting menu is incredible, each dish is beautifully presented, and both the appetisers and wine pairings are perfectly thought out. They use Colombian ingredients to create gourmet level cuisine.
Angela M — Google review
⭐☆☆☆☆ “I visited LEO with high expectations. While the concept of showcasing Colombia’s biomes is interesting, the execution was disappointing. The dishes were overwhelmingly salty — in fact, the only element that truly stayed with me was the salt, while the intended effect of the biomes was lost along the way. The service and welcome felt less attentive than expected for a restaurant of this level, and even the reservation and information messages came across in a rather rude tone. As visitors to Colombia, we are not familiar with the country’s geography. The whole story of the biomes should have been explained with a map or visual guidance, but there was nothing of the sort. On a positive note, the fermented beverages were generally well done. Overall, it was an experience that did not meet my expectations. Such a pity.”
Mo A — Google review
A Culinary Odyssey at Leo: Where Colombian Biodiversity Becomes Art A meal at Leo is not merely dinner; it is a profound journey through Colombia's soul, an expedition into its vibrant, diverse ecosystems, and an experience that firmly cements its place on the global culinary map. Helmed by the brilliant mother-daughter duo of Chef Leonor Espinosa and Sommelier Laura Hernández, this restaurant delivers a stunning blend of high-level execution, artistic presentation, and a narrative that is both educational and delicious. ✨ An Experience of Unmatched Creativity From the moment you step into the chic, modern space, the atmosphere buzzes with the promise of something extraordinary. The tasting menu, a "Ciclo-Biome" journey, is a meticulously curated exploration of little-known ingredients sourced from the Amazon, the Andean highlands, and the Pacific coastline, celebrating the country's rich, ancestral heritage. Every dish is a masterpiece, a work of art on the table. The technical precision is evident in every bite, transforming ingredients like "big-bottomed" ants (hormigas culonas), mojojoy worms, and smoked caiman into sophisticated, innovative haute cuisine. The flavors are surprising, and harmoniously balanced, creating a symphony for the senses. The Perfect Pairing of Art and Science The beverage pairing, orchestrated by Laura Hernández-Espinosa, is a revelation in itself. Eschewing the usual all-wine route, it incorporates unique Colombian distillates, fermented drinks, and herbal infusions that perfectly complement the narrative of the food, elevating the entire experience. The synchronicity between the kitchen and the bar is flawless, a testament to the seamless mother-daughter collaboration that makes Leo so special. 🌟 World-Class Service and Accolades The service operates with the grace and precision of a choreographed dance. The staff are knowledgeable, bilingual, and genuinely passionate about guiding diners through the stories behind each ingredient and region, adding a deeply personal touch to the experience. It is no surprise that Leo is consistently recognized on The World's 50 Best Restaurants list, currently holding a prestigious rank. This recognition is well-deserved; it is a destination restaurant that transcends expectations and is well worth any effort to visit. For an adventurous and open-minded eater, this highly creative and deeply personal experience is simply unmissable. We are chefs, and restaurant owners, so this opinion expresses an insider view from us as seasoned diners/travelers.

Prudencia, a beloved restaurant in Bogota's historic center La Candelaria, is the creation of owners Mario Rosero and Meghan Flanigan. The restaurant exudes love and dedication in every aspect, from its architecture blending local bamboo with recycled materials to its freshly baked wood-oven bread and homemade spice blends. The sunlit dining room, once a colonial-style home, offers a rustic ambiance filled with the aroma of baking bread.
Absolutely mind blown by this gem of a restaurant! Everything was perfect. The place is so beautifully set and the atmosphere is great. The chef is a true genius. Each dish is so balanced and full of flavours and emotions. Its on the top of my experiences in latin America!

If you’re looking for an elevated dining experience, this is your place! It’s a coursed meal with wine or NA drink pairings in a beautiful dining room with one course up in their “garden area” by the smoker. The food and wine was spectacular and the service was exceptional. It felt like a Michelin star experience. I highly recommend!
Leslie D — Google review
Prudencia was a really good experience for some fine dining with local flavours. They serve a fixed daily menu ensuring the most fresh dishes. The staff was really kind and knowledgeable. We got 7 dishes which were all very delicious. Some were inside and some outside with the cooks preparing it on the open fire in your sight. If you’re looking for a food experience in Bogota, this is a must visit.
Gaabje — Google review
OMG this is our favourite meal in Bogotá so far! What makes them stand out is how deeply it’s anchored in wood fire and fermentation. Every dish carries a subtle smokiness or brightness that feels both primal and refined. The owners have built their menu around showcasing unique ingredients from small farmers and producers, and that sense of care really comes through on the plate 🫶 Meals are served in both the indoor dining room and the outdoor space. Our favourite being the tree hut-like terrace, which feels almost magical. The environment is casual and welcoming, more like dining at a friend’s house. They’re only open for lunch, and it’s worth planning your day around it. Prudencia is thoughtful, generous, and god damn delicious. They go by a set menu which changes frequently.
Elaine ( — Google review
We had the most fantastic lunch here. The staff were amazing and the drink pairing was 10/10 - we did half alcoholic and half non-alcoholic and both were great. Such a memorable experience!
Heather D — Google review
Such an interesting experience. The exterior is clean and super discreet, hiding a very well decorated space where food is the main star. We really enjoyed our experience, the food was great and the staff was professional but not uptight. It's a fixed-menu restaurant, so have that in mind.
Frederico F — Google review
We had the 7 course tasting menu at Prudencia to celebrate my husband’s master’s degree, and it was absolutely worth it. Every dish felt thoughtful, beautifully presented, and full of flavour. The chef is incredibly talented, you can tell there’s real creativity and technique behind each plate. The whole experience felt special from start to finish. A place to remember for important moments, and one I’d return to without hesitation.
Angela M — Google review
Thank you for such a joyful and deeply satisfying meal. The intentionality behind the menu, the quiet care of the servers, and the way your vision translated so beautifully into each dish did not go unnoticed. The atmosphere you’ve created is more than just welcoming—it’s alive with warmth and meaning. What stood out most was the bond among your team. It’s rare to witness a group that works with such ease, respect, and connection. It was clear to me that you’re more than colleagues—you’re like family. It was an honour to celebrate my 50th and my final weekend in Bogotá with you. Thank you for making it memorable in all the right ways.

Restaurant
Colombian restaurant
El Chato is a cozy and intimate restaurant in Bogota, known for its creative dishes made with seasonal Colombian produce. The chef, Alvaro Clavijo, has honed his skills at renowned international establishments before returning home to showcase his culinary magic. The restaurant offers technique-driven plates such as squid and mushroom tartare, crabmeat and squid ink rice chips, and a unique Colombian pound cake made with coca flour.
El Chato is dining on a different level. Its frequent ranking as one of the best restaurants in the world is well-deserved. I cannot recommend it highly enough, this is a must-go if you’re into fine dining and are visiting Bogota. We opted for the tasting menu, which is served in two shifts every night. The tasting menu guests are seated on the second floor, while the a la carte restaurant is on the first floor. The design of the second floor lovely, with half of the space taken up by the open, stainless steel kitchen, and the other half taken up by the guest area, with about 6 tables. The atmosphere is intimate, and though the floor is bustling with activity from kitchen staff and servers, it doesn’t feel too busy. The 12-course tasting menu was one of the best we’ve ever had. El Chato uses almost exclusively Colombian products, and uncommon products as that (two particularly interesting dishes were the beef heart tacos and the chocolate mousse dessert with powder from coca leaves). The flavors are novel, beautifully balanced, and there isn’t a dull moment in the menu. It’s some of the best food we’ve ever had, getting close our favorite restaurant ever, De Librije. We both had the non-alcoholic pairing, which rivals some of the best pairings in Europe: homemade teas, kombuchas, cocktails, generally fitting the dishes very well. The staff were friendly enough to give us refills on some of our favorites! What’s not advertised enough by El Chato is their vegetarian tasting menu. It is put together with at least as much thought as the regular tasting menu, and is truly exceptional. Beautiful flavors, novel dishes, and incredible ingredients. Again, it’s one of the best vegetarian tasting menus we’ve ever had (topped only by Encanto in Lisbon). The service was excellent as well. Our server and the sommelier were super friendly, knowledgeable, professional yet not distant, and just lovely to interact with. The same goes for the chef and other kitchen staff we interacted with. El Chato is perfection. It produces some of the best food in the world. An absolute gem. My only recommendation to them would be that they start advertising their phenomenal vegetarian tasting menu more.
Charles C — Google review
El Chato is one of Bogotá’s culinary gems. The cuisine is outstanding, with every dish crafted to highlight fresh ingredients and bold flavors. Their cocktail list is equally impressive, especially their signature cocktail, which truly elevates the dining experience. It’s no surprise that El Chato has earned its place among the 50 Best. If I had to suggest an improvement, it would be to have a dedicated server for each table to ensure an even smoother service. That said, the team was impeccable in timing and in making us feel genuinely welcomed. I will definitely return if I come back to Bogotá — highly recommended!
Antonio F — Google review
I had high expectations going into El Chato, and it absolutely delivered. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt elevated but still relaxed — a perfect mix of fine dining and warm hospitality. The service was attentive without being overbearing. Our server was happy to explain ingredients and give pairing suggestions, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Prices are on the higher end (about COP 100,000+ per dish), but honestly, for the quality and creativity, it's worth every peso. Definitely a must-visit if you're looking for an elevated Colombian culinary experience in Bogotá.
Axel — Google review
The atmosphere is totally unique and lovely. The spices on the walls makes you get curious about each one. The service is super good, cordial, nice and with great manners. The food is totally amazing they make you lose your mind and they have interesting twists on everyday ingredients and the flavours and presentations are good. The soup made from "pepino melon" is insanely good. The only unfortunate part on my experience was an iron shaving they use to clean the pots that happened to be in my dish. They have amazing wines and great infusions.
Alice G — Google review
Every single dish on the tasting menu was excellent! Fantastic food and the best presentation I’ve seen. The presentation of the ingredients used on the dish was exquisite. I did not enjoy the open kitchen, which I usually enjoy because it was extremely busy. It seems they were also preparing items for the a la carte part of the restaurant that is on the floor below. That made the atmosphere rushed. As we were the last seating they started washing the kitchen while we were still eating. That was not nice at all. Regardless they get the five stars from me for the impeccable everything else
C D — Google review
Wow……. I had nearly given up trying to find flavor I loved in Columbia. But this restaurant is one of the reasons I will come back. From the outside at night you would drive right past and not even bat an eye. Your visual senses are overwhelmed as soon as you walk in the door by jars of ingredients and a kitchen on display to see the passion in making the food. The wine pairings are well thought out. All of your senses will be stimulated here. Every dish just gets better than the last. I don’t know how they do it. You would be crazy to not try this place when visiting Columbia. This is one of the best food experiences I’ve had.(Period) Yes they will meet your dietary restrictions. Yes you will enjoy this food. Don’t ask just make reservations.
Logan H — Google review
Extraordinary. A restaurant experience to savour - the degustation is art, with techniques and ingredients that attest to the world class cuisine El Chato is renowned for. The reputation is well founded with the service, ambience and not least the food itself amongst the very best. This place is a Colombian institution. Bravo!
Mario T — Google review
From the moment we walked in to the moment we left, everything about El Chato was exceptional. The ambiance strikes the perfect balance between elegant and relaxed, and the service was outstanding. Our server took the time to thoughtfully explain each dish we ordered and even recommended a few that turned out to be some of the highlights of our meal. Every plate was beautifully presented and full of bold, unique flavors that showcased the creativity of the kitchen. If you’re in Bogotá and looking for a culinary experience that goes beyond just a good meal, I highly recommend checking out El Chato. It’s a place that truly stands out.

Abasto is a popular restaurant in Usaquen known for its modern bistro-style dishes made with locally sourced ingredients. The place is especially crowded during Sunday brunch, but their in-house baked goods make the wait worthwhile. Additionally, they offer the option to grab coffee and pastries to go if there's no available table. The restaurant also has a venue in Quinta Camacho where you can enjoy lunch with your pet.
I had breakfast at this restaurant twice during my stay in Bogotá, so this review is all about their breakfast offerings: Absolutely delicious, freshly prepared food with a focus on local Colombian cuisine — simply wonderful. Great value for money, too. The atmosphere is lovely, and the neighborhood feels safe and welcoming — everything both visitors and locals could ask for. I had the “Calentado Abasto” and fell in love with it. The portions are generous, but more importantly, the quality is outstanding. Fresh juices, fresh fruit, and the sourdough bread? So good it could almost be from Germany! Service is quick, attentive, and genuinely friendly. The seating is comfortable, with enough space between tables to feel relaxed and enjoy a bit of privacy. If you’re visiting Bogotá, this spot is a must. The neighborhood is not only safe, but also perfect for a stroll after your meal.

Its somehow a very famous chain, but we went there for lunch and although atmosphere was nice food was quite mediocre. Its probably more famous with its brunch menu which has local authentic dishes but we have missed it and the rest of the menu was nothing special.

Fabulous family of 12 for 53rd birthday for son in law and 7 yr old twins. Everyone loved the food-lamb, shrimp, chicken and lomo all perfectly cooked and served with a superb garden salad large enough everyone enjoyed some. Good selections of wines albarino and temporally (2 bottles) with nice chorizo and empenadas rather than our usual grilled artichokes as our mouths watered looking at the menu. So full we only sipped cappuccino and Cafe Americano before going home for cake and presents. Rosa as always was especially helpful.

The appetizers (entradas) are really good options. But not the main dishes. We ordered burrata and it's fresh, creative and on point. The main dishes lacked that same level of cuisine. We ordered ribs that tasted more like oxtail, and we also ordered the "signature" chicken 🐔 - this was disappointing because the meat was kind of dry -but greasy at the same time?? Appetizers versus the main dishes. 3-0. It's like they are cooked in a different kitchen. Staff is attentive and well trained. The ambiance and the people are nice. We'd come back for drinks and appetizers for sure.
KAREL L — Google review
The menu had a wide selection. We ordered the empanada with mole, which was stuffed and fried but was a tad too salty. The beef arepa also came fried with a side of sour cream. The green salad was fresh but the vinaigrette needed more vinegar, otherwise it was on the sweet side. The lamb stew was gamey and hearty, good gravy. Overall nice ambience and quick service for a late lunch.
Angela T — Google review
Excellent food, I highly recommend the arepas The flan and crumble were also delicious. The service was not perfect, the staff seems like they need a bit more training. There is not an official host so the waiters are taking turns seating people which is not efficient. Also, the food runners brought other tables dishes to us multiple times and the waiters seemed to forget about us after the food was served.
Magee C — Google review
This place is hit or miss. Been here twice and both times the experience has been similar. The servers are fine. Very nice and helpful. You have the option to dine inside or outside. I dined outside both times. The food is where I was disappointed. The presentation of the food gives you hope until you actually eat your food. My meal in particular tastes as if it was cooked simultaneously with another lunch meal. It gave a spicy taste to my pancakes. There are definitely better alternatives than this restaurant in the area. I suggest take your time and find another restaurant.
David B — Google review
We had breakfast here. They have a variety of eggs and other local delicacies. They also have a wide variety of tropical juices. I had Tamarind juice and another glass of Corozo juice, and both were thick and tasty. To start, we ordered carimañolas, which are baked/fried small rolls of tapioca flour with cheese, and they were excellent. I had the eggs with cheese and bail served in a clay pot/cazuela, and although they were ok, they were too cheesy for me. My friend had oatmeal pancakes. However, here they don't come with syrup, so you have to ask for honey. I liked the presentation of the food and the place and want to go back to taste other things. I went back and had lunch on my next visit. I had artichoke hearts and baked trout, although it was a bit dry. I liked it but wouldn't boast about it.

If you're in Bogota, a visit to LeChon (Calle 125) Barra de Lechona is a must for an authentic taste of local cuisine. This eatery specializes in lechona, a traditional dish hailing from the Tolima region that features succulent suckling pig roasted to perfection. The sight of the whole pig may be off-putting at first, but once you dive into this culinary delight, you'll understand why it's so beloved.

Harry Sasson, named after its renowned chef, is a collection of Bogota's most beloved restaurants. Despite facing skepticism about pursuing a career in cooking, Harry has proven his doubters wrong and established a string of successful eateries. The flagship restaurant boasts an elegant English country house exterior that gives way to a modern interior adorned with leather and marble under a glass ceiling.
One of my a favorite places when I visit Bogota. Great food and wine selection. This time we had several plates from steak to ribs and also dessert. Everything was delicious. The service is okay.i think the waiters can be more attentive. Overall great experience.

This restaurant is in the top 50 in the world and it’s easy to see why. Service was impeccable and he food delicious. I would desire little more flavor but hey for a colombia restaurant it was great. The pan de yuca rolls were amazing, even so much I saved two for the staff at the front desk from JW Marriott nearby as they recommended I try it. Then next was the crab bisque which had lots of crab meat and finally the twice cooked duck, which sent me over the top. I was full and happy so much that I ordered another drink and sipped on that for the next 30 minutes so that my food could digest. Lololol I can’t remember my waiter name but he was amazing. I arrived at 630 so not many persons were there but by 8pm people were rolling in and the atmosphere became much more energetic. Thank you for everything and see next time as I wanted to try many more dishes but I am only one person…haha Ciao

Harry Sasson is a true classic in Bogotá — elegant, lively, and consistently delicious. The menu offers a wide variety of dishes with both international and Colombian influences, and everything is prepared to perfection. We tried the steak, which was tender and full of flavor, the creamy pasta (a must-try comfort dish!), and the shrimp fried rice that was packed with taste. The octopus and baked cheese were also outstanding starters. To top it off, the cocktails and wine list are excellent — the espresso martinis were spot on, and the Malbec paired perfectly with the meal. The atmosphere is sophisticated yet warm, with great service that makes the evening flow smoothly. It’s ideal for a special dinner, a celebration, or simply enjoying Bogotá’s fine dining at its best. Definitely one of the city’s must-visit restaurants!

El Bandido Bistro is a popular spot in Bogota, known for its vibrant bar scene and live music. The ambiance is set by a mix of jazz and classic oldies, creating a unique experience not commonly found in Colombia. The French-influenced restobar offers delicious food, excellent service, and live jazz performances. It's an ideal place to enjoy a meal with friends before heading to the bar area called El Enano for craft cocktails.
Absolutely loved it. Must try the beef bourguignon and onion soup. We also got the crème brûlée and roasted cambémbért cheese and those were nice. The live music and service was excellent. Will definitely try again. Should make a reservation beforehand, but sitting with the bartenders was fun. 😉

Mini Mal is a charming restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere that puts a creative spin on traditional dishes. One of its standout offerings is the Deep in the Jungle, which showcases Colombia's farm-to-table movement by featuring a signature dish paired with crunchy lemon-seasoned ants and tucupi, a paste made by an Indigenous community supported by the restaurant. Founded by Antonuela Ariza and Eduardo Martinez, Mini Mal aims to reconnect diners with Colombia's rich biodiversity through ancestral culinary techniques and practices.
We are visiting Colombia on vacation, and I came here with my partner and 2 young kids. This is by far one of the best restaurants I have ever ate at. The food was unique, and absolutely delicious! So many interesting flavours. The staff were brilliant and were very friendly, and accommodating towards our children. We will definitely be back before leave Colombia and hope to visit Colombia to come back here!!!!

When we stumbled upon Minimal we had had a day of heavy eating so we weren’t very hungry and only sampled the starters! I wish we could come back and try some of the mains! The starters were to die for, unmissable are the balls of plantain with crab filling and the plantain with octopus and mint! The flavour of each dish perfectly balanced salt, fat, acid, heat, a feast for your taste buds!

An amazing restaurant that focuses on using indigenous and Amazonian ingredients. Tons of new things I don’t get to try back home like lulo and pirarucu. Flavors were dynamic but balanced, and the presentation was so colorful. So good I came twice during my 3 day trip in Bogotá.

Nestled near the bustling Parque de la 93, this lively spot attracts digital nomads tapping away on their laptops while enjoying rich Americanos and local professionals conducting meetings. The atmosphere buzzes with creativity and productivity, making it an ideal place for both work and leisure.
This is a really nice spot for coffee and breakfast. Prices are a bit higher than average, but the vibe and service make it worth it! We tried the coffee tasting, which was a great experience—perfect for those visiting Colombia for a few days without time for a full coffee tour. Later, we had lattes, which were wonderful as well. Azahar Coffee is an absolute delight! From the moment you step in, the vibrant and colorful bar area creates a warm and inviting atmosphere. I ordered their cappuccino, and it was exceptional – the aromatic coffee, with its delicious fruity notes, blended perfectly with the creamy milk. It’s clear they use high-quality Colombian beans. Beyond the amazing coffee, they offer a wonderful selection of pastries and food. I couldn't resist trying their carrot cake, and it was heavenly! Moist, flavorful, and the icing was the ideal sweet-tangy balance. They have so many other tempting treats on display, too. It's the perfect spot to indulge in a little something special. Whether you're looking for a top-notch cup of coffee, a tasty pastry, or a light meal, Azahar Coffee has you covered. The colorful ambiance, friendly service, and delicious offerings make it a must-visit. Highly recommend!

Azahar Coffee Located in the very tranquil neighborhood of Los Laureles. It’s a neighborhood cafe with personality. The coffee is excellent and the staff are well-trained, friendly and professional. They have all the information about the coffees they serve and sell written down on cards, if you are interested. They features one of there coffees brewed and if you chose a filtered method, you could choose one of there three varieties. The presentation of the V60 was very nice as well as the espresso based drink. They have a nice selection of pastries and cakes. The carrot cake that we ordered was delicious and above average in quality and taste. We enjoyed this little neighborhood cafe.

This is an incredible spot tucked away in a quiet part of Bogotá. Love the tree lined streets and parks all around. Best part was the coffee though. Humo Negro is a Colombian fine dining restaurant that combines haute cuisine with a rebellious and alternative style. Located in an old house, it offers a unique blend of high-end culinary artistry and grunge aesthetics. Inspired by Japanese izakayas, the restaurant's gastronomic concept features locally sourced ingredients crafted into visually stunning and flavorful dishes by chef Jaime Torregosa. The experience is complemented by an array of exclusive cocktails curated by renowned Colombian bartender Manuel Barbosa.
Amazing dinner at Humo Negro. We took the tasting menu which was a great way to get to sample a bit of everything. The staff was amazing explaining every course, the ingredients, and how to eat it. Drinks were great as well. The place is expensive but this is a culinary experience well worth the money. I will be back.

Went for our second visit, ordered from the menu instead of the tasting menu, and it was just as good. A really amazing food experience up there with any in Bogota and really pretty much anywhere. Fish dishes great, the signature oyster dish is famous for a reason... Should be in the running for best in Bogota.

Humo Negro in Bogotá is a true culinary gem. The concept is brilliant, dishes inspired by different regions of Colombia, each elevated with their own creative twist that leans toward a fusion fine art cuisine. The flavors are outstanding, but what truly sets this place apart is the service. I don’t think we’ve ever experienced such attentive, genuinely warm hospitality in a restaurant. The waitstaff are not only incredibly polite and friendly, but you can see they take immense pride in what they do. Our only regret was not choosing their tasting menu, which guides you through perfectly paired dishes and wines from various Colombian regions. We ordered à la carte, which was still delicious, but watching other tables enjoy the tasting menu made us wish we had taken that journey. The atmosphere is equally memorable, intriguing black decor, well chosen music, and a vibe that feels modern and a bit avantgarde. If you’re in Bogotá, we highly recommend Humo Negro. It’s an experience you won’t regret!

One of the best meals I've had. I very much enjoyed the creative and flavorful dishes with recognizable ingredients for the most part (not easy to achieve, while still being innovative and worthy of the 50 best in the world). I hope to return soon to try the rest of the dishes.

Wow wow wow. I knew I was going to get a great meal, I mean it is one of the best restaurants in the world after all. But they exceeded all my expectations! I had some dietary restrictions that made me apprehensive of the tasting menu but the staff accommodated my restrictions by offering me some very unique substitutions! Daniel and Isabella were awesome in explaining each dish. All of the dishes in the tasting menu/omakase were excellent and the presentation was so beautiful! My favorite was the blue crab ceviche.
Ammara E — Google review
We have never experienced a feast like tonight at Humo Negro. Coming from a family of foodies, we have been to many wonderful restaurants and often been very happy, but after tonight we are on cloud nine! The food is of course the most important part of eating out, but the service, atmosphere and how the food is presented have an important role in the experience as well. We decided to go all in and ordered the Omakase menu, which consisted of 17 small courses. From the first course to the last, we fully expected there to be at least one that wasn’t to our taste, but each one was simply delicious. Humo Negro not only has master chefs, but artists too. It may seem silly when people take pictures of their food, but as each and every time the presentation was a work of art, we simply could not resist. The service was amazing; our waiter introduced each course in a way that made us excited about trying them, and he was happy to answer all our questions. He and his coworkers were both friendly and professional. If you come to Bogotá and do not go to Humo Negro for the Omakase menu, you are missing out on an incredible experience. We count ourselves lucky to have found this place and are still floating on cloud nine!

Incredible dining experience! The cocktails were perfectly crafted and expertly recommended to suit our tastes and preferences. The food was absolutely exquisite, and the service was truly top-notch. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely welcoming. I especially loved the use of local ingredients in the omakase tasting menu; the chef's expertise shone through with a masterful blend of Colombian tradition and Japanese flair. Each dish was small, elegant, and a true work of art. The ambiance added to the experience, with the restaurant showcasing unique art from local and international artists. Every detail here is thoughtfully curated. Highly recommend for a special night out!

Great food at a convenient price. This is a signature restaurant brand in Colombia with over one hundred locations nationwide. Service in this particular location is good but not great. Cozy bread serving is very special. Creative crepes recipes go from very basic ham and egg varieties to complex ones such as the Parisienne and the Sensation Colombia. Portions are generous and waitresses are friendly.

The food looks nice and tastes good for a reasonable price. My issue is that after sitting us down and putting down fork/knives on the table, more than 15 minutes before anyone acknowledges us and asks us what we want to order.
Yuejiang C — Google review
Always a good option in Bogotá and in any city of Colombia. This particular Crepes has a very nice decoration that plays with the sunset and the lights of the place. The service is always something that many other places have to see and to copy to their own business. This time was for a delicious ice cream, tea, and a quiet good coffee. A very good space to chat with your family and let the time pass while you have a relaxing moment. The outside place also I want to say congratulations to be pet friendly with the people that go with their fury friends. Congratulations to the place.

Moshé S — Google review
One of the worst experiences I’ve had at a Crêpes & Waffles. I arrived straight from the airport, exhausted and just wanting a snack. No one welcomed me - I had to wander around while the staff stood in a corner laughing with each other. I asked if there was a table with a power outlet so I could charge my phone. They laughed and said “we don’t have.” I stepped out for a bit, came back, sat at the coworking table, and plugged my phone into my laptop to charge. Waited ages for someone to take my order - only for the security guy to come over and ask me to move to a smaller table. I said sure, but the table was filthy, so I moved again. Then, suddenly, they did have outlets. 😂 Finally got someone’s attention, placed my order, and 10 minutes later they came back to tell me they didn’t have the crepe I ordered. The cherry on top? One of them walked up while I had my laptop out and slid a paper placemat underneath my laptop mid-use. Super disorganized, inattentive, and just bad energy overall. Wouldn’t recommend this location to anyone.

Ajiaco is a must-try signature dish in Bogota, known for its ability to warm you up in the chilly weather of the city. The altitude of 8,646 ft makes this hearty soup a popular choice among locals and visitors alike. Additionally, there are positive reviews about the delicious flavors of ajiaco and frijoles, making it an essential experience for anyone visiting Bogota.
The food was very good. The large beans are huge. $23.000 for the large platter and $20.000 for the smaller (which is still large). They open at 12pm and it is better to arrive early because the line is long by 1pm. The only negative comment I have was the aguapanela is artificial, I would not order it again

(Translated by Google) Honestly the best bean in Bogotá. The waiting time may be a little long, depending on the time. But the table service is very fast, it has two very well-structured dishes with a delicious flavor, which are worth waiting in line for.
Paula C — Google review
(Translated by Google) The food is spectacular, 10/10, both the beans and the ajiaco. The place is very noisy because the tables are very close together. You have to be very patient; the wait can easily take an hour to get a table. I recommend going there, but don't be hungry, as this place always has a long wait. Also, don't wait on the back floor; service takes a long time there. If you order to go, they only have one size.

(Translated by Google) The price-performance ratio is excellent. The portion and flavor of both the ajiaco and the beans are excellent. If you go on a weekend, always wait in line. The service is friendly. The place is austere, like a business lunch restaurant. (Original) La relación calidad precio io es exelente. La porción y el sabor tanto del ajiaco como de los frijoles es muy abuela. Si se va un fin de semana siempre abra fila. El servicio es amable. DANIEL V — Google review
(Translated by Google) I'll start with the negative, which is already evident from the repeated comments: the wait. In total, we spent an hour and a half just waiting to eat. We waited half an hour in line, and after sitting down and immediately ordering, we had to wait another hour for the food to arrive. I think the restaurant owners should seriously consider expanding their kitchen capacity: more space and more equipment. This would allow for a faster order turnover and, consequently, faster service. That, without a doubt, is the weakest point of the experience. Now, the positive: the food is plentiful, well-priced, and truly delicious. I'm sure that if they improve the kitchen, their rating will rise considerably. Most of the negative comments focus on the wait time, and while details like the complimentary cookie or sandwich are a nice gesture, they don't fully compensate for the inconvenience.

Worst experience in a restaurant in Bogota at least for these year. First I asked for lamb chops and they where terrible can’t eat them…. Then the waitress came to the table with bad attitude and told me the lamb was ok, that I didn’t know nothing about food….. Then they told me to order a different dish so I order a medium rare tender loin, I just get a freeze pice of meat….. Finally the check was really expensive and I had to pay for everything…… Not coming back never.

The service at Oficial is exceptional, and the quality of the food is outstanding. They offer a variety of appetizers, such as grilled octopus and chicharon mixto (mixed seafood), which are both delicious. However, the sea bass has a slightly overpowering taste. On the other hand, the shrimp burgers are superb and the pork burgers have a pleasant plantation flavor. Oficial is always a fantastic choice with its cozy atmosphere and great lighting.
Lovely restaurant!!! We absolutely loved the shrimp burgers, OMG, those were so good we ordered a second plate of those, as they're small. Their Italian sodas are very good as well. We also tried the causa and rices. Service was really good although the food was slow to arrive as they were catering another table of 20+ people. The atmosphere here is very nice, beautiful setting and great location.

For one of the best gastronomic experiences you will get in Bogata, this is the one to try. Classy but not pretentious, wonderfully atmospheric and relaxing, from the freshly cooked bread through to the sensational taco starters, the out-of-this-world main courses and the eclectic desserts, it was perfection on a plate. This humble reviewer’s highlight was the Lomo Saltado, so good he had a segundo. The running egg, with modest side of rice and medium cooked meat nestled in a bed of evenly portioned peppers, onions and other vegetables accompanied by some potato fries. This is how a lomo saltado should be. The service was perfectly timed, the venue is charming, the pricing was fair and the food is faultless. You wouldn’t expect anything less from a restaurant owned and strongly influenced by Rafael Osterling. Thanks you chef Segundo and our very astute and knowledgeable waiter Camilo for adding to our overall culinary adventure. Wow, wow, wow!!!

Just an awesome Peruvian restaurant in Bogota! Off the menu we had the pulpo, the tiradito, the langoustine hamburger and the pesca del dia rostizada. Each one of these meals was close to perfect. For dessert, we then had the Suspiro Limeño and the "El Tumbao", both of which were also extraordinarily good. We also had both a glass of white and red off the very interesting wine list, both of which were very tasty. The staff could also not be better, and the restaurant is in an amazing space overlooking a beautiful street tree. It is a definite 'must do' in Bogota.

Oficial is a beautifully decorated restaurant with good food and a decent selection of wines. The service was inconsistent - our waiter did a nice job with recommendations and was very friendly, but the time between finishing appetizers and receiving our main dishes took around 45 minutes. The coordination with the kitchen to time out the meal was a complete fail. Don’t order wine by the glass, they will pour half a glass - you can see the glass of wine in my attached photo, this is what they consider a full pour.

Excellent spot. Super cute and comfortable with Colombian specialties. We came for the ajiaco, but it turns out if you come for breakfast, you can only order from the breakfast menu. Make sure you show up at the right time for any particular food you want. Yucca waffle: Crispy and chewy. A bit tough to cut with the butter knife, but delicious. Changua: Milky, creamy, and with tons of flsvor, mainly from the added cheese. Didn't have onions which I've seen elsewhere. Colombian sampler: Get this. Basically one of every appetizer, and they're all fabulous, as is the ají. Lemonade with coconut: Bracing and tart, the way I like it. If you want sweet, look elsewhere. Lemonade with yerba buena: Mild and minty. Also lovely. Service was friendly and attentive. Meal was leisurely and unrushed. Would repeat for lunch.

We ordered to share between 2 people: Ajiaco Soup,(33.5k) Cazuela Ranchera(37.5k) and Lengua en Salsa Criolla(42.5k). The waitress was super kind and proactively requested the kitchen to serve each dish in 2 separate plates.. so its like we got 6 dishes. Quantities are good to share between 2 people if you are choosing different dishes. We have good appetite so we ordered 3 dishes and we couldnt finish everything. Recommended. One of my Go-to places for Colombian food. It's not your typical restaurant, this one is high end. Prices are above average but the place is beautiful and the service and customer experience is also above average. For food, I love their appetizers.. make sure you try them.. ask your server to guide you based on your likes... Some food has lots of local produce and local beans and potatoes...this can be hard on those not familiar with "earthy flavors"... Their desserts deserve a special mention... try them... they won't disappoint. * very good for business lunch with foreigners wanting to try local dishes. * not casual

This place is the best. It has heaps of vegan options. They usually do one meal a day (a soup and a main), which is really good value and SO yum. we went two days in a row in a short stay in bogota because we couldn’t get enough. they’re super lovely too. it’s like a home cooked meal. and location is good, and it’s so cute inside.

The place is cute and easy to access. The tomato soup was delicious! Nice restaurant for vegetarians who want a good meal for a fair price. We waited some time to be served but not too long. The only downside was the woman at the register, she was not friendly and ask to get a tip saying it's normal to give 10%. Well yes, it might be normal but you don't have to ask for it. You get it if we feel like giving an extra for service/food, it's absolutely not mendatory and definitely not normal to be ask to left a tip... Was it because we're tourists?

I have been getting tired of fried food when I found this gem. I'm not a vegetarian but happy to try good vegetarian food. This place certainly exceeded my expectations. The beetroot soup was so soothing to the stomach and had a slight hint of bitter aftertaste, which I really enjoy. The salad, puree and tortilla filled my stomach but didn't make me stuffed (fried food usually does that to me). I would love to return to try a different menu del Dia (it was 27000 pesos and came with a nice cup of herbal tea).

Dos Gatos Y Simone, located in downtown, is a must-visit restaurant that offers an exceptional dining experience. We probably had the best meals of our Bogota trip in this tiny restaurant. Genuinely creative plates prepared by using freshest ingredients. This a restaurant to go to have healthy and tasty meals. Interesting take on Mexican food here. I love enchiladas and was excited to see that on the menu. My enchilada was actually a burrito - no enchilada sauce, and not corn tortillas. The “burrito” was good with lots of flavorful ingredients inside, including moist chicken. I really do like the cheeses they use here in bogota as they are similar to Mexico.

A must-visit in downtown! It's has all you want for a restaurant experience! Awesome service, delicious food, great music! Prices are a bit higher than expected but everything else is amazing!!! I tried this "sopita". OMG you gotta try it. It looks like an appetizer but it's absolutely perfect for a small lunch. It's delicious! Recommended!

This place is fun, clean, and serves really good Mexican cuisine. We went for lunch, ate vegetarian, and loved it. The outside is painted with loads of cats, and no real signage for the restaurant. The inside is full of natural light, and plants. Highly recommend this as a stop, can't say enough good things about it!

Located discreetly in a typical Chapinero residence, the quietly stylish Restaurante Nueve boasts expansive wine shelves that showcase over 14 diverse nations. This establishment has gained recognition as a 50 Best Discovery according to The Worlds 50 Best, and rightfully so. Its stunning interior exudes modernity and immaculate cleanliness, while the exceptional staff provides outstanding service.
Tucked away off the main street this is an absolute gem of a place! Tapas and small plates that have their roots in Colombia and a wine list that could have kept us busy for days! However, what really made it for us was having Alejandro as our waiter who was so patient and helpful recommending dishes for us to try. Every one of them was outstanding!! Needless to say the wine was excellent as well. Add to that the final bill was incredibly reasonable. If you aren't sure what to try, trust the serving staff to guide you and you won't go wrong!!

Very nice environment and friendly stuff, very careful and patient . We had 6 dishes in total, the food is amazing, you really can tell the creativity of the food. They also limited the booking amount , so make sure you have the best experience.

If you are a wine lover, this is the place to go. They have an ample selection of very nice wines to try by the glass. You can pair the wine with delicious tapas that combine local flavors with Spanish cuisine. The server was incredible knowledge about the wines and his food recommendations was on point.

We had some great food traveling around Colombia but Nueve was by far our favorite restaurant. The food is so inventive! We enjoyed the small plates and the opportunity to taste so many different things. Don't miss the crispy rice, crab and peanut butter appetizer. It is out of this world. Their selections of wine by the glass is unparalleled and we loved sampling a few of them. Don't miss this restaurant.

Nueve is definitely a must -try experience in Bogota, you can't miss it. Loved the tapas, it offers a variety to try from different dishes in small portions. It has a mix of Colombian and Spanish flavours. Service was very good, our waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable. Lovely atmosphere. The wine and cocktail selection is very ample, they really know what they're doing. Loved the napkin menu as well. Also, in order to get in you ring the bell in the house, adorable. Highly recommend this place!

It was one of the best moments in Bogota trip for our family. All plates were sophisticated tasting, amazing qualities. We were 3 people (Me, my wife and 10 years old boy). We ordered 4 tapas and 2 small plates and 1 dessert. But we might have had room to order 1 more plate. We would like to enjoy there again. If you go there, you must reserve.

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Bogotá, Romeo Osteria is a culinary gem that beautifully marries Italian flavors with diverse influences from Asia and South America. Designed by renowned chef Rafael Osterling, this charming bistro offers a cozy and romantic atmosphere perfect for any occasion. Guests rave about the delightful homemade octopus ink pasta and the mouthwatering gnocchi fritti, while the burrata and carbonara are also standout dishes that leave diners craving more.
I really enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant. It was very romantic, cozy and warm. Their bread was absolutely delicious!!! I enjoyed their octopus dish it was very fresh and soft. My friend ordered a chef’s recommendation which is a pizza and it was a little too salty but overall very fresh and delicious. Their octopus ink pasta was homemade but the pasta tasted a little hard and not al dente. Overall the quality of the dishes was pretty good and consistent for the most part.

What a great , great , place! We were travelling in Bogota - have been to many restaurants all over the world and this honestly had real style, class and great vibes. Book in advance (our booking did not go through but the owner personally accommodated us and really look after our evening) The food was well crafted - not pretentious but super super tasty. Thank you for a lovely evening!

Rustic, bustling bistro-esque in nature, this restaurant adjacent to its sister Oficial (Rafael Oosterling) restaurant had such a different feel to it but equally merits a visit to sample its delights. It is less formal than Oficial but has its own independent laid back charm with a nice romantic alcove area with panoramic views of its bustling surrounds. There are all sorts influences running through the menu, pan Asian, South American, Italian etc.
Tom H — Google review
Very homey place, very aesthetic for people who like that type of scenery. It is Italian but do not expect the elite ultra mega Italian cuisine. The food is yummy. If I were to recommend a plate it would be the rigatoni of pig. I would argue that the gnocchi are too creamy like way too much, please chill out with the cheese. Overall, pretty good.
Filippa R — Google review
Upscale ambience on an upper floor, to be more precise on the fourth floor. Upscale audience, upscale design, upscale prices. Here you are among yourself and are happy that you belong to a society that likes to spend a little extra on food. But it was really of excellent quality and can only be recommended. The octopus and the Mediterranean steak in particular tasted excellent.

Delicious, food, great atmosphere and decoration, excellent service. We tried 3 different starters and enjoyed a lot, the sardines bruschettas, the burrata and the artichoke, delicious. Also had amazing fetuccini Nero, it was really good, also the lasagna with asado de tira, wow, deli! Their cocktails were good too, tried the Signorina and the Limoncello ones. I highly recommend this place, very reasonable price for the full experience you get.

The only place I came twice in 5 days in Bogota, and have come on every trip to Bogota so far. Incredibly charming atmosphere and the food and drinks are thoughtful, good, and affordable. I wish I lived beside it. (I particularly liked the brioche with rhubarb jam this time around).

Talk about a unique place!! I only knew about this place due to it being a friends favorite hideaway! When you approach the unassuming bulding, you don't even know what kind of joy they have on the inside! The place is set up with a relaxed feel with plenty of natural lighting and the entire room was spotless. Bright colors and smiling faces filled the establishment and the smell of small batch coffee, pastries and empanadas wafted throughout. They have a diverse menu so you can stop in for just coffee or you could even stay for a full meal. They also have a very cool outdoor seating area (my favorite) that makes you feel like you are relaxing in the rainforest. I highly recommend this place and will make it a part of my routine for me as well as my friends! Se you soon!
Neal J — Google review
Good pastries in general, the plain croissant really nailed the proper texture, buttery taste, and balance between crunchy and soft as well. I was VERY DISAPPOINTED with the pain au chocolat, I had the highest expectations (for the price I am paying here) only to get the filling with huge chunks of very hard chocolate, not the proper chocolate sticks, needless to say the dough for this one was stale and soggy. I would not mind this in another place but if this bakery takes pride in their pastry and charges high prices, I expect high quality as well. Other samples we tried were decent. Overall, I would try more things to give it another chance, but found this to be overrated.
Keren S — Google review
Who knew a French pastry shop in Bogotá would make some of the best empanadas we’ve ever had? Les Amis offers a wide range of flavors, and of course, we tried every single one. The secret: French butter. It gives the empanadas a delicate, buttery richness that sets them apart from the local style, which tends to lean more savory. The shop itself is tucked inside a house, don’t hesitate, just walk straight in. Love their cute outdoor garden setting!

Absolutely loved this Sunday brunch joint! Don't let the location fool you, it's surprisingly charming and with good vibes once you get in (both in and outdoors seatings, and you will have to wait a bit as always a queue). There is an attractive menu with various sweet and salty options, and plenty of drinks. Staff all friendly and smart, and customers of all kinds (some very chic people) and dogs are allowed. Tourists should especially check it out when you are near this area in Bogota!

Café Bar Universal is a charming restaurant in Bogota that offers a cozy and lively atmosphere. Chef Andrius Didziulis created a smart menu that changes almost daily to showcase the diversity of Colombian products. The restaurant's European cafe-inspired setting features a patio with long walls, palm trees, and an open sky, giving it a unique ambiance. It also serves as an event venue with stylish contemporary decor and artwork.
Café Bar Universal offers an enjoyable dinner experience with a nice buzzy ambiance at night, though it is quite dark. The appetizers were delicious, and the sourdough bread was tasty despite having a tight crumb. However, the timing of courses was rushed, with entrees arriving before we finished the appetizers. The menu had several items unavailable, and specials were only mentioned after we had already read the menu and strategized the meal. Wine options by the glass are limited to house wine, which is disappointing. Despite these issues, the food was well-executed, and I would return.

I am overdue on a review of this place. I found this place when I first moved to bogota and fell in love with the space, the ambiance and the food. Do make reservations, cocktail menu is amazing, customer service is always attentive and they complementary. What I most enjoy is that they have their classic dishes but always are offering other options based on the season. Pizza delivery
Pizza restaurant
Julia is a popular pizzeria chain in Bogota, known for its authentic Neapolitan-style pizzas cooked in wood-fired ovens. The restaurant offers a variety of Italian dishes, including eggplant parmigiana and prosciutto. With multiple locations around the city, Julia has gained a reputation for serving some of the best Italian-style pizza in Bogota. Customers praise the thin and crispy crust, fresh sauce, and generous mozzarella cheese on their pizzas.
Great pizza! Highly recommend! We got the salami pasta, meat was alittle spicy. The dough was perfect. I would recommend it 9.5/10. We got the artichoke dip. Also good. It’s a small quantity though.

How the mighty have fallen Julia is a restaurant chain specialize in making brick oven Pizza and other Italian dishes. As you enter the place, you are directly welcomed by nice and friendly staff. The place is cosy and the lighting create a relax mood for intimate conversations. I had the Marinara Pizza, which was just delicious, crunchy and full of flavour. My wife had the Melanzane Alla Parmigiana which was watery, lacking taste. It looked like to aubergine had been boiled in plain water instead of being fried. Following my nice experience (with the pizza), I decided to order a pizza from Julia. The Pizza arrived quickly, within 30 min. However, we received a very poor Pizza that day, nothing to do with the Pizza I had previously. It was chewy, the dough was not cooked properly, and it didn’t have any flavour at all. it was so bad that I had to throw it away as no one in the family, even not my kids who love Pizza couldn’t eat it. I just felt robbed that day for the price I paid! Julia has lost our custom permanently.

They didn't have lemonade available but was on the menu and the waitress didn't offer any alternative. The fried egg was totally unnecessary in the carbonara pizza. Besides that, good quality and good atmosphere

Good local chain with fresh napoli pizza. The food is good, but not amazing, and the selection felt limited. Take out is available (I'd call ahead to cut down on the wait). Tip: the cheese pizza was really salty - too salty for most of the people I was dining with.

Café San Alberto Museo del Oro is a must-visit spot in Candelaria, offering an enriching experience for history enthusiasts. The museum showcases the world's largest goldsmith exhibition, featuring artifacts from pre-Columbian indigenous cultures. Visitors can immerse themselves in Colombian history and marvel at the intricate craftsmanship of these ancient pieces. After exploring the museum, visitors can indulge in a unique coffee experience at Café San Alberto.
This was a really nice find. We were looking for something to eat before we toured the museum and initially went downstairs to the coffee shop but they had a very limited selection of pastries. This restaurant on the other hand had a large selection to choose from. The quality of the food was excellent and I would seriously consider coming back to the museum just to eat here. The portion sizes were good. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The restaurant had a nice ambience to eat.

We are bringing our family to get in touch with the coffee culture in Colombia, this place offers all methods of coffee brewing, and they produce an amazing coffee. We loved the demonstration of the methods and the coffee, not so crazy about the cappuccino and my son ordered a hot chocolate that never came. Overall a nice experience, I would recommend going for the coffee itself, not the fancy add ons

A speciality coffee in an unexpected location. Really good V60 with a cascara-like taste and a strawberry finish. A decent espresso (good taste and smell, the presentation could be a tad better). Cappuccino had a bit less foam but still tasted really well. Nice staff too.

Robust flavor, not for the faint of heart. Overtones of leather and fresh-tilled Earth. Almost a meal. Satisfyingly viscous. Rich brown color. Makes it feel like there's something waiting for you on the other side. 7/10

The coffee is great, but a few people find it a bit bitter. In my opinion is one of the best coffees in Colombia. The cakes are delicious and the savory options are good as well. You can but coffee in two presentations and they also have other souvenir options. You can but a great brand of water.

This was an absolute surprise for me. After ending my tour of the museum, saw this empty coffee shop and I asked for a cup. I started reading the brochure they had at the counter and started thinking I had encountered something special - when I finally started drinking it, I realised how truly special it was. Totally recommended this coffee and this shop.

MASA 105 is a popular bakery, cafe, and pastry shop located in Bogota. Founded by sisters Silvana and Mariana Villegas, who previously worked in New York City restaurants, MASA 105 offers a wide range of delectable treats from pastries like NYC-style doughnuts to sandwiches, tartines, and eggs. The establishment has three locations on calles 70, 81, and 105.
I’ve gone to MASA in the morning after a workout to eat their scrambled eggs and their green smoothie. Best scrambled eggs and smoothie in the area. It’s also a good spot to get some work done if you’re working remotely, try their salads!
Bryan H — Google review
Another great bakery in Bogota with fresh sourdough bread, a great selection of foods and a bright interior (+ a nice outdoor patio). I’ve been to this Masa multiple times and really like it for their food and atmosphere - both for breakfast or lunch. It’s one of the nicest Masa locations I know and has lots of seating and is always bustling with people. I would give it 4 stars, just because there’s a few things that could be improved. The main thing is service. Despite seeming to have a lot of staff, it takes a long time to order and sometimes we had to ask multiple people before someone took our order. And no one comes by again to ask if you want any additional food or drinks, even if you’ve been sitting there with empty drinks or table for a while. Usually I don’t care so much, but I really noticed it here. Regarding breakfast, I really like the shakshuka (with an extra order of bread) and the avocado toast. The pancakes looked really nice as well. I tried the French toast - it was ok, but not my favorite. When it comes to drinks, their coffee is good, but their almond milk isn’t the best. It was foamy, but it made the coffee a bit bland in my opinion. Aside from that, I can highly recommend everything from their bakery. The bread is really great!

The best scrambled eggs I have ever tried, so moist and fluffy. The sourdough bread and pastries are all very delicious! They have everything you need for a perfect brunch. Highly recommended. Jeisson was our server the first time I visited and he was amazing. Diego was my server the next day ( I had to go back again) and he was very attentive and so very patient with our large party. Thank you team MASA for the high quality products and service you provide on a daily basis. Keep up the excellent work!

Best pastries and coffee in Bogotá. This place became a favorite to us during our visit to Colombia. They have a good variety in their menu for breakfast, brunch or lunch. Pastries are awesome as well as their coffee. Kudos to Ivan, the barista, as he is quick, crafty and know what he is doing (the only one in charge of the coffee area with hundreds of orders per day and he delivers!). Breakfast burger was a favorite as well as the fruit bowls, fresh squeeze mandarin juice and French toast. Great quality and great service. Keep it up Masa, we'll be back!

1. The food is good, 2. Services are good too, but the washroom was in maintenance during our visit, while there was not replacement measures. The rest are good. 3. Oda Restaurante offers a delightful dining experience with dishes that resemble artwork and have an exquisite taste. The chef and the service provided are exceptionally pleasant. It is a highly recommended establishment for those who appreciate excellent food, inviting luxurious settings, and breathtaking views. Located on the 11th floor of a magnificent building in one of Bogota's finest and safest areas, this restaurant also provides the unique opportunity to play indoor golf using professional simulators.
The best restaurant in Bogotá! This is the authenticity at its best. Outstanding combination of techniques and flavors. The dishes are truly original, with an exquisite combination of textures and techniques, without leaving aside their roots. There’s a lot of intensity in flavors, and a fantastic balance in your palate. Their strength is not in desserts. We ordered only one, and its design ruined the texture it was supposed to have. They use an excess of words to explain everything. Would be nice if they are more concise about the information they are sharing.

Best restaurant in the city. Service is A+, great ambience. The staff is very knowledgeable of all the dishes, farm to table style, delicious. Highly recommended.
Carlos M — Google review
The food is very flavorful and balanced, each dish we had delivered a different play of aromas. The cocktails were well crafted, the card offers classics and new creations. The wine card is neatly arranged with an overseeable selection, it is possible to order some of the wines by the glass. The service was friendly, attentive and motivated. Overall you receive a great price to pleasure ratio, from a European perspective the dishes are fairly priced and sized in a way that will not leave you hungry as in other venues. One star deduction in Ambiente since their were some signs of wear and tear visible in different objects. The place is shared with an indoor golf business, golf apparel is sold in the entrance area, which I found odd and unbefitting. On the other hand due to the elevated location of the restaurant the view of Bogotá’s north is spectacular. Looking forward to my next visit.

The service by Joseph at Oda was perfect, always close attention to Detail and prompt service. I felt welcomed. The good news as great, farm to table and tasty. Cocktails were simply the best, I’ll definitely return next time I’m in town. It’s underrated so take advantage before it becomes popular.

Honestly, so disappointing. I am simply and utterly disappointed. My party was 7 people and they had the most uncomfortable table that was clearly made for 4 people. We asked if they could help us out and they did nothing! Even though there were empty tables around us. Since this restaurant is new it’s paining to rate them so low but the food was just not it. One of the pictures attached had half the plate empty which, I’m not a food critic, but I think is terrible! Add something to the empty space, the presentation is horrific! It just feels like this restaurant is trying to find their identity and they haven’t done so. It’s very difficult to understand what they want to be, the waiters said that they suggest that the plates be shared which is odd because the plates looked like a regular meal and not something that is meant to be shared. The taste was mid. Do better.

Two level lounge/restaurant. Spectacular view. Food was very good with some innovative touches. Chef came out to introduce the dishes. Waiting staff was great. A la carte option available.
Steve M — Google review
I was excited to visit this restaurant as it was recently added to the list of the 50 best restaurants in Latin America. Oda is located in a neighborhood that isn’t particularly known for upscale dining - so it’s a bit of an anomaly in that respect. They have a menu focused on Colombian ingredients and “comida de autor”. Our server did a fantastic job explaining how much food to order and even recommended some incredible drinks. And every time a dish arrived the staff was very friendly and thorough in explaining each component of the dish. The dishes were good - I especially liked the Orellanas - mushrooms served two different ways with onion ice cream and onion broth. We also ordered the chorizo, the fish tartar, the arroz caldoso, and the cola de res. In all honesty the food was a little underwhelming. The presentation was beautiful, but the textures and the flavors didn’t impress us that much - at least not enough to feel like we were eating in one of the 100 best restaurants in Latin America. I wound still recommend this restaurant to anyone - the dishes are creative and innovative, and the drinks were really good. I would just recommend people come with realistic expectations.

Market
La Perseverancia Distrital Marketplace, also known as Persa, is a popular indoor venue near the National Museum of Colombia. It's famous for its stalls selling fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as small eateries serving local specialties. The market gained international recognition when it was featured on Netflix's Street Food Latin America. Despite attracting tourists, La Perseverancia remains a favorite among locals, bustling with Colombians during lunchtime.
I really enjoyed my lunch en el Mercado La Perseverancia. Truth to tell, it’s not always my favorite to be bombarded by people holding menus trying to get me to eat at their restaurant. However, after making a circle around the place and everyone was doing it, I ended up with the first one that I saw. He said the magic words: sopa de mariscos en leche de coco con queso…or seafood soup in coconut milk with cheese. It was served with coconut rice, plantain, and avocado, y agua con gas. And it was absolutely delicious! I don’t remember the name, but it was right next to the stall with the famous celebrity Master chef. The live music was also very nice.

Part of a stop in our Food Tour. It's interesting to see a local food market with various fast foods being served. Lots of locals with families. The dish we had was delicious (not oily or salty) and filling. Go there if you wish to see a piece of authentic Bogota food scene.

If you find yourself in Bogotá and are craving some delicious food without breaking the bank, you absolutely need to check out this market! Trust me, you’ll love it!

An old 2 story building, essentially open air, with multiple independent small kiosks. The food focuses mainly on typical Colombian cuisine; various soups, ajiaco, meat dishes. A couple of fresh vegetable kiosk and one live plants kiosk. It is typically crowded at lunch. Not all of the food kiosks are open during the weekdays but all are on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Parking is available and there is adequate seating.
INDIANCREEKHILL — Google review
Perfect place to sample local dishes, albeit they can be quite pricey in comparison to other places. Not much options for fruit / vegetable stalls but we enjoyed our time here nonetheless. Samples ajiaco for 22,000 pesos then the day after a mini bandeja paisa for 20,000 pesos as a menu Del dia which was reasonable.

A vibrant, crowed, magnetic gastronomic mecca in the heart of Bogotá that provides visitors a means to taste traditional Colombian foods like beef broth, bean and vegetable soups, amazing fried fish and ceviche—as prepared by chefs from every corner of the country. You can also buy local produce at the stalls adjacent and support many small vendors. I definitely recommend visiting!
Nelsia B — Google review
We’ve decided to come to this place after watching the Netflix series! What can I say. Food is amazing, so much flavours, prices are reasonable and service is also good. Highly recommended it. Also, try to avoid weekends as you might be to queue for a bit long. Overall this is a really good place if you’re looking for quality-quantity food and also Ema very friendly environment.

I had the pleasure of visiting La Perseverancia Distrital Marketplace during my recent trip to Bogotá, and it was an absolute delight. This hidden gem is a true reflection of the city's vibrant culture and diverse culinary scene. First and foremost, the marketplace is a feast for the senses. From the moment you step inside, you are enveloped in a symphony of colors, aromas, and sounds. The lively atmosphere is infectious, and it's clear that this place holds a special spot in the hearts of locals. One of the highlights of my visit was the food. The variety of culinary offerings is staggering. Whether you're a fan of Colombian cuisine or looking to explore exotic flavors from around the world, you won't be disappointed. The empanadas, arepas, and tamales are must-tries, and the fresh fruit stands are a refreshing treat on a hot day. What sets La Perseverancia apart is the sense of community. It's not just a marketplace; it's a place where people gather, connect, and share stories. The friendly vendors are more than happy to engage in conversations and introduce you to their culture through food. Navigating the marketplace can be a bit overwhelming due to its size, but that's all part of the adventure. You might stumble upon hidden stalls offering unique crafts, traditional sweets, or even live music performances. The cleanliness and organization of the marketplace are commendable, and there are ample seating areas to enjoy your meal or simply take in the bustling atmosphere. Overall, La Perseverancia Distrital Marketplace is a must-visit when you're in Bogotá. It's an authentic, immersive experience that will leave you with lasting memories of Colombian culture and cuisine. Don't forget to bring your appetite and an open heart to truly appreciate everything this remarkable place has to offer.

Great place to go for a Burger and drinks. Loved the fact they had mustard, ketchup and mayonnaise on the table to dress the burger as needed. friendly staff and a good atmosphere to watch sports. Would definitely go back to the restaurant.

I used to come here regularly before the pandemic but had not been here since then. Sad to find that their menu had shrunken (desmechado sandwich doesn't exist any more),prices went up (too much), portions are smaller and food quality has declined. Elektra Punk & Food is a vibrant and edgy restaurant that offers an array of vegan options. The decor is punk-inspired, featuring a bold color scheme and eclectic artwork. Despite its punk aesthetic, the food is highly praised for its deliciousness, attracting both vegans and non-vegan diners alike. The menu includes items like tacos, bruschetta, risotto, and desserts that have received rave reviews.
Everything was great, the STICKY RICE dessert was one of the best i've had. The mushroom sandwich was great, it may be too simple for some. The pistachio cookie was decent, but a little expensive for what it was, specially compared to the STICKY RICE. Lattes were great. Service was excellent. The pear salad was fantastic. The cauliflower tacos were good, although they were kind of oily.
Juan C — Google review
This fully vegan restaurant is a fantastic spot for comfort food lovers! The menu leans a bit on the greasier side, but everything we had was really good. The birria was hands-down the favorite—it’s a must-try. The portions were on the smaller side, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing since it keeps you from overindulging. The atmosphere is definitely unique, as it’s more of a punk bar/hangout spot. The music was a little loud, but it fits the vibe they’re going for. Service was on the slower side, but given that it was a weekend night, it was understandable. Overall, a fun place to enjoy great vegan comfort food!
Cynthia B — Google review
Food was ok but very small portions. Service was excellent. The ambience was ok. All vegeterian options.
Elizabeth L — Google review
I had one of the top 3 salads that I have had in my life here. It was their pear salad. Also had a very nice drink that was like a whiskey sour but used Lechee fruit that was also very good. They didn't play any punk music but instead they did have some nice new wave type music which I also enjoy. Great place with two thumbs up from me, I could eat that salad many more times before getting bored
JD F — Google review
I am not sure what punk food is but this place certainly has amazing grub. The fact that the cuisine is vegan is just a plus, in its own right it’s just plain delicious. Even non-vegan guests in our party truly enjoyed it. The decor is obviously punk and seeing it from outside I would not have thought of going in but I had heard great comments. And I’m glad that I did! We tried the tacos, bruschetta, risotto and deserts. All amazing. Staff is friendly too.
David G — Google review
Oh what a find this place is. Punk + Food is exactly what they are. Let's start with the music. B-52s Love Shack, emf Unbelievable, David Bowie and more. We ordered a few appetizers. Portions are on the small side but very tasty. Cool decor inside, especially in the walls. All vegan. Enjoy!
Mike L — Google review
Hot Dog: good flavors and textures, though the cheese was salty Birria Tacos: decent Mushroom Sandwich: good. The bun and mushrooms were warm, and the aioli went well with the mushrooms. Nachos: decent
Jason O — Google review
The food is incredible! I’m not vegan, but tend to lean that way and randomly found this place because it was close to the hotel. We went here two nights in a row for dinner. That’s how much we loved it! I’m bummed we didn’t make it again before leaving. Check it out if you’re in the area and love good food and punk music.

NATIVA Arte y Comida Natural is a charming spot located in the heart of La Candelaria, offering a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. Additionally, visitors can explore a boutique featuring sustainable products. The menu includes tasty dishes like pesto mushroom arepas, with plenty of gluten-free options available as well.
Absolutely love the vibe there!! All natural and beautiful. We tried a vegan tamale, empanada, salad, smoothies and juice. Absolutely love the tamale. I strongly recommend this place if you love tamales. In the restaurant they also have a small area selling some clothing stuffs and accessories. They all look awesome. If you like this style you absolutely want to visit this store.

5 stars! From the service, to the delicious flavors, and to the very affordable prices. Fully vegan menu and huge variety to choose from. Freshly made to order in an open kitchen that you can actually watch them cooking. Lovely place and their service is really nice too! You can also pay by credit card.

Another great vegan prix fixe menu. Had a carrot soup. Loved the mango without any added sugar, the way I like it. The crepe stuffed with quinoa and mushrooms with a thick tomato sauce and green salad was super. Found many fun and unusual things in the tienda, including some used clothing and a backpack. Got some healthful cooking ingredients in bulk and hygiene supplies. Found some dried Guásimo fruit that smells amazing: earthy, dusky-sweet and dark red if you know what I mean. Now to find out how to prepare it. I'm thing to add to the whole flor de jamaica flowers for tea that I also got there.

The atmosphere is really nice and the food is also tasty (especially the cakes) The price of the menu of the day changes every day. Today it was rice with salad and soup with potatoes, mais and shrooms (0g of Protein) unfortunately a lot of dishes have nearly 0g of Proteins :( Yesterday the menu of the day was way better and cheaper (Lentils, Tofu). As I dietician I could help make the menu better;)

The restaurant is very nice and they are very kind there. The menu del dia is amazing but it is different every day and the first day I went it was amazing 5/5 stars but the second day it was more expensive and not as good and rich as rhe first day, so I was a bit disappointed. Anyway it is a wonderful place and I can recommend it.

I visited Nativa in spring of 2024 which is located in a historic district of bogota! Our server was catalina she was great! We started with some water with some lemon, then chose the “ensalada de la huerta” (great choice in my opinion) a big portion for 2! Then we had the “hambuergesa waia” which honestly feels like the cleanest burger i have ever eaten! And for juices we had guanabana and gulupa which were super delicious! And for dessert we had the “crema helada de frutos rojos y cacao” absolutely out of this world!
Armando O — Google review
Very sorry to say that I was really disappointed by the quality of the food today. We were with 3, and all the buns of our burgers were extremely dry and tough - we were hardly able to cut through them at all and nobody finished theirs. Also, the texture and flavour of the patty was bland, and the potatoes were quite hard, and served without any sort of salsa or sauce. The waiter was friendly but he took ages getting our water. The patio looks beautiful and the shop is cute, but honestly for the food I would never return.
