Truly majestic forest with huge beautiful trees. We’ve really enjoyed walking there, it’s very peaceful and the air there is so fresh💚 but sometimes the sounds of cars slightly disturb the harmony. Be careful if you wish to hike, there are a lot of dry snags and branches lying on the ground, they can easily tear bare skin 🩸, I was unfortunate enough to get hurt.

Always very beautiful and quite busy when the sun is out! Clearly marked paths, when visiting please respect the space pick up litter and after dogs - it is a gem worth preserving.

Newlands Forest is one of my favourite escapes in Cape Town, and I visit regularly for a dose of fresh air and tranquillity. Tucked on the slopes of Table Mountain, it offers a peaceful retreat with towering trees, shaded trails and the calming sound of running streams. Whether you’re going for a short walk or a longer hike, it is a truly blissful spot to reconnect with nature. A word of advice: the weather can change quickly up here, so make sure to wear appropriate clothing and bring a light rain jacket just in case. Layers are your friend!

A truly beautiful garden! This place is a hidden gem.. The garden is filled with so many rare and incredibly beautiful flowers..as well as some stunning artistic statues.. It's the perfect spot for walking..relaxing..and just enjoying nature. The place is absolutely massive..so one day is definitely not enough to see it all..I'll definitely be back and next time inshallah I'll make sure to visit for at least two days to truly appreciate everything it has to offer.. Highly recommend it!

The botanical gardens around South Africa are an invaluable showcase of local plant life, exhibiting extraordinary biodiversity. This place took our breath away! The gardens and the spectacular views are something you see in magazines. You choose what to do here, you can do the trails and see all the botanical garden has to offer or you can set up a blanket on the floor and have a relaxing picnic while you enjoy the breathtaking views. If I lived in Cape Town, I would have an annual membership because I would be coming not only to see and enjoy the garden but also to enjoy all the events they offer. If you love nature, this is the place for you!!!

Getting there is simple: you can drive directly to the gardens via well-signposted roads, or hike in via one of the numerous trails that connect to the site. For those arriving on foot, there’s an honesty system in place — you’re expected to head to the main ticket office to pay for entry, even though the trails give you open access to the grounds. Once on site, parking is plentiful for cars, vans, and even coaches. The only slightly confusing part is that there are at least two main entrances and two parking areas, which can make leaving a bit tricky — especially after exploring such a large area on foot! Visitors are given a simple map upon entry. I found it attractive and easy to understand in design, but in practice I relied more on the numbered signs dotted around the gardens to orient myself. There’s so much to see here that a couple of hours won’t do it justice. Botanical gardens in any city are always winners and this one no less. A huge spread of garden that rolled up the hill, butted against a mountain with rambling springs and creeks, a forest walkway and hiking paths it was a joy to meander the grounds checking the floral and fauna. There was even a yellow Strzelecki plant, created in honour of Nelson Mendela. The gift shop was also a joy to wander around and I loved the bookshop. I loved the varieties of lollies, succulents and aloe.

Loved it! Went on a Tuesday 13h. Had a booking, didn't need it. Plenty of space. More than one fire fireplace and heaters. Ample outside seating. Large portions (beef burger, crispy chicken burger, chicken schnitzel. Friendly staff. Loads of menu options. Many draft beers. Parking will be tricky if it gets very busy. Charming ambience. Massive TV's which I hate, but I get that other's enjoy watching sport on pubs.

Had an excellent lunch at this old world bar in Newlands. An open fire and good food and drink created a cosy atmosphere. There is a large outside seating area that allows stunning views of the mountains. The food is made using ingredients grown in the small vegetable garden at the back of the property. A good range of beers compliments the food perfectly. It can be busy at the weekend even in winter so I would recommend booking at this time, especially for the Sunday carvery. A great find in Cape Town.

Service is good enough. Responsive and on it. The food is average nothing that’s going to blow your mind away. It is possible that their other “proper food” is great. But what we ordered was very “ok” however I thought over priced. The pizza was very oily - as per the pic. The nachos were a few notches better. I think if you into sport then the vibe is perfect….

A Disappointing Experience at what is known as a Cape Town icon... A first time visit, excited to experience what has been touted as a local gem. Given its rich history, I had high hopes despite some mixed reviews. Unfortunately, my visit on a Sunday turned out to be far from the charming experience I had envisioned. Upon our arrival, it was evident that Sunday was bustling, largely due to the popular carvery. I had made a reservation for 4 people, days in advance, so I was taken aback when we were shown to a cramped table set for three. The hostess, after a cursory glance at our party, decided our comfort was of little concern, delivering a fourth chair to us at an awkwardly positioned table right opposite the entrance. To make matters worse, we found ourselves squeezed between the busy bar area and a narrow passage where patrons frequently brushed past, nearly toppling my daughter from the very high chairs at the very high wobbling table we were uncomfortably seated at. It was evident that this table was as crammed and uncomfortable in this space as we were, and was only placed there to up the numbers. Despite my attempts to politely request a seating change, I was met with indifference. The two waiters I approached reassured me that we could be moved when tables became available; alas, this never transpired. Instead, we watched as walk-in customers, were greeted with familiarity and friendliness and received far more comfortable accommodations, leaving me to wonder if our status as first-time visitors and clearly not among the usual demographic— factored into our treatment. As for the service, it was dismal at best. After dropping off three menus with little explanation, the waiter promptly returned within half a minute to ask for our drink orders. Feeling rushed, we requested a moment to decide and asked for a fourth menu. We then endured an agonizing wait of 20 minutes before he resurfaced for our order. Our drinks arrived fashionably late, followed by the uncomfortable process of ordering food while no one checked in with us. When the food finally arrived, it was, thankfully, the only tiny highlight of our visit. While the portions felt overpriced for the size (refer to pic of the overpriced chicken schnitzel at R185) - the flavors were not too bad but not spectacular. However, this joy was short-lived and disappointment crept in again, no one followed up after serving our meals; I found myself having to hunt down salt and pepper, as the only condiment provided was a greasy bottle of tomato sauce unceremoniously dumped on our table beside the cutlery. I had selected Forresters Arms, based on its rich history and the hope of enjoying a memorable meal, but I left feeling more deflated than satisfied. If this establishment continues to prioritize the experience of its established local clientele, neglecting the diversity and potential of newcomers, it risks becoming more of a miss than the hit it once was. For now, I cannot endorse this establishment as a must-visit dining option.

Just like an English pub. OK pulled pork burger and frozen chips. If I were in England then nothing to worry about but, we're in Cape Town and food of this quality is below par / average for Cape Town. My last meal out after three weeks and all it's done is get me used to what I'll expect in my local pub when I get home.

Had a wonderful time watching SA beat Australia on Saturday. We hired the Bobby Muir Cellar and hosted our clients. Lorenzo went above and beyond to make our experience one to remember. Would highly recommend.

Great tour. Oftentimes as someone who travels alone, tour operators will make you feel rushed or annoyed if you are the only one there. Some even cancel on you the very last minute; this was not the case with Andile. Thank you for a very informative, fun and professional tour. I loved that it included a beer tasting at the end. Really informative and worth your time.

This was very insightful and helpful when you don't have any knowledge about beer😊 The history behind this brewery is interesting. I certainly know alot more about beer than I did before. I'd recommend to anyone looking for an educational, yet fun activity to do. We did this for my dad's birthday and he got a free entry for the tour. So glad we did this. Will definitely be back soon😁

The tour guides consumed alcohol before our tour started and our tour got cancelled as we were waiting at the brewery. So disappointing.

Really cool thing to do, especially on a cold rainy day in Cape Town! We had a great tour guide, a surprisingly big group and although the factory lines weren't running, still got to see how it all comes together - and you get tasters and 2 drinks at the end of the tour!

This is by far the best value for money beer tour in Cape Town. 80 rand gives you the 5 of the best SAB beers to taste and 2 tokens that allow you to get any 2 draughts. The tour takes you through all the inner workings of the brewery and ends with a brief summary of the Newlands Microbrewery. It's amazing anf I would give it 6 stars of possible!

We thought we would try the Roast. The food was bland, and it wasn't fresh. Our waitress was very sweet and helpful. I felt that the restaurant was looking for tired and the food was below average. The price for the Roast is R190.00 per head, great price but not when the food is tasteless.

Lunch was great with a generous portion of cottage pie and vegetables. The butternut was delicious. The dinner was disappointing. I had a 200 gr medium steak. As the steak was thin it was more on the well-done side. In comparison, the 150 gr steak at Spur is a much better deal and cooked to perfection. The Thai Green Curry was half-hearted and the portion was tiny. Not great value for money and arrived home feeling hungry. The service was friendly and efficient

One of my favourite pub restaurants in cape town. Most things on the Menu are actually reasonably priced unlike places nearby where you pay more and for less portions sometimes. My favourite here is easily the beer battered hake and chips and at most places milkshakes feel pretty phoned in/low effort but for me at least Barristers has the best milkshakes compared to other places in Cape Town and for a better price than what I'm used to. Most places in Cape Town overcharge and under deliver which thankfully isn't the case here.

Adorable rustic, nautical themed restaurant right in the hub of scenic Newlands. Nice atmosphere, seating outside for summer nights or in sit inside and warm yourself by the fireplace. Staff was great, helpful 👍and the manager was working the floor with the staff. The food was fresh, and delicious touches of the chef 👨‍🍳 could be seen by food. Restaurants run like a well maintained ship 😊 Food was well priced. Burgers, hake, steak, pastas, steamed veggies, butternut/creamed spinach, salad, and stir fry are recommended. Vegetarian options are also a choice on some menu items. Can't wait to go back.

Awesome place for lunch! Service was really quick despite it being a little packed, and the vegetarian burger was absolutely incredible. Was also great that they stay open on a Sunday evening when most places close early around them. Reasonable prices for a student budget too.

A middle of the road type of place, but I would love to go there one evening. During the lunch time period today, it was quiet and difficult to assess the atmosphere. The pizza I had was ...well pleasant, but not much more. The staff probably save their friendliness for the patrons in the evening?

They serve the best pasta dishes. My beef ravioli was top of the food chain- so delicious and rich. They served me a small portion though🙈😂. They have big screen TV's for watching soccer the premier League - not sure if they view rugby. Family friendly - you can bring the whole fam for a treat and skip cooking dinner. If you are allergic to gluten they got you - gluten free options on the menu.

The ambiance was lost. Arriving 20 minutes before 12pm, the welcoming reception was very unfriendly. The waitress, I could pick up was new. She by the way was really friendly. Did not bother me during my lunch which I prefer. Gave her a good tip. Music was bland. The food though was excellent. Wine was beautiful.

It is a pleasant place but can be a bit loud and slightly lacking in ambience. The food is good – we had pasta and it was tasty. But check with your waiter about serving sizes: a dish can be totally over the top or quite moderate, even in the same section of the menu, and nothing to indicate which dish size it will be. The drinks are decent. The staff are lovely. There is a parking lot across the road which is very convenient. I think reservations are recommended.

Awesome food, service and atmosphere. Pizza was a bit too doughy but some people like it that way and it still tasted incredible. It is very busy there and the menu has alot on it so it's really hard to decide but great pizza and great pasta.

We had a nice table by the window upstairs on a cold Sunday evening. The restaurant was about half full. I had a margarita pizza with added mushrooms and olives and my wife had the salmon risotto. The pizza was nice, but a little under salted. The base was thin and crispy on the edges. The olives were those black sliced canned olives which were tasteless and considering the R24 extra I paid for them, was the most disappointing part of the pizza. My wife enjoyed her risotto, which was tender and tasty. Overall everything was good. I'd give another star for atmosphere if the restaurant was warmer. We ate dinner in our jackets.

Great, wish we had more time there. We were rushing to catch a show at the Baxter, and they kindly accommodated us by putting a rush on the food and the bill. Will definitely go back when we’ve got more time to enjoy.

I love this place, when there is big matches you can feel the proud South Africans all together. It's a feeling you can't describe only when your are there you experience the feeling. Parking is just limited.

The Newlands-Stadium is a bit old and is not the technical highest one but it's still a authentic stadium. You get food and drinks there and in general everything that u would probably need during the game. The stuff helps you to fine your seats and everyone was nice. There are defiantly better stadium but when you visit a rugby game it's not really about the stadium. So I still had a great time.

The energy of rugby fans is unbelievable, stadium itself is well equipped seats are decent depending on the amount you pay. I enjoyed watching roughly 5 games during the season and each one was amazing. I can utterly understand why people buy season passes as watching live is completely different than watching live from home. Alcohol is served throughout the game at a bar inside the stadium as well as snacks can be bought from vendors.

The stadium it self it quite nice, very pretty view in the background of the mountains and food and drink was a reasonable price. The signage for where your seats are is really bad so it was difficult to find out seats. A lot of people seemed confused as to where they were seating which made the first 10 minutes of the game hard to see as people were in the way the whole time .

It's a beautiful stadium, my issue and huge issue is with the security guys who are on duty drunk, on two occasions other people have been going out with brandy which we all know is not allowed, however they would refuse us to leave with it. The guy was rude and incompetent, needs more paitrons and waiters, the ques are way tooooo long.

Great atmosphere. Parking on game day is a nightmare to find around the stadium and it’s expensive so it’s best use a taxi hailing service like Uber.

Everything was excellent. The place has this unique goth-victoria style, the staff are all lovely (literally & figuratively), but most of all, the food and wines were all great! Keldon was the guy who waited on us and he has a great personality. I would highly recommend!

If I had to describe this place as a person, it would be an Italian South African, so I felt at home having dinner here. Italian inspired food, but plated tapas style. Best excuse to order more than one option on the menu. Loved the food and atmosphere. Been back a couple times, so would definitely recommend it.

Dinner at Club Kloof was excellent from start to finish. The ambiance is stylish but relaxed, and the menu feels thoughtful and well curated. Every dish we tried was full of flavor and beautifully presented. Our waitress, Tyra, was particularly wonderful — warm, attentive, and added to an already great evening. Our waiter Tristan was amazing — so accommodating with my dietary restrictions and overall such a great experience. If you’re gluten- and dairy-free, this is the place to go! The food had a perfect balance of salty and umami flavors. I’d highly recommend the lamb shoulder, sirloin steak, and pan-fried calamari — all were incredibly flavorful.

I had great food at Kloof St for dinner that I came back for breakfast and it didn’t disappoint. The lamb was delicious, and the kingklip was also really great. For breakfast we had the salmon benny and classic breakfast that were so good I would’ve ordered another one. In the evening the lights are dimmed and without a reservation you may be seated outdoors on a lower table and sat on a comfy couch, but it fits with the vibe of the restaurant and didn’t detract from our experience at all.

This was the first time in almost 7 years returning back to Kloof Street House. It was our first date location after moving to Cape Town in late 2016. We celebrated our 7th wedding Anniversary, so it just felt fitting to come back. Atmosphere as always is just ridiculous, amazing, exquisite even, and the food to die for. BUT, the main reason we’ll be back, Chantal - the way she served us, handled herself in a high pressure environment - made us feel like beyond VIP’s, what an incredible human being and unmatched addition to your Kloof Street House team. We came here for drinks for my best friends birthday. We did not book however they gave us a beautiful table in the outside area. It was cozy + ambient. However I am writing this review for our special waitress, her name is Bella. She was kind from the start, she checked on us often + made an effort to make my friends birthday memorable. Her prompt service as well as elegant manner in my opinion is worth 5 stars. She is a wonderful addition to the place - thank you Bella dear. We will be back 💛💛

Nice place in Capetown for a chill family dinner. Recommend to us (tourists) by a local. Atmosphere was a little overwhelming with loud music and food was decent but not amazing. The tacos are great though! Overall , solid restaurant but not sure I can call it my favorite.

I had a wonderful service at Tigers Milk along Street, Sindi made it worth my while. The food was amazing and the atmosphere and she made sure to make my experience very wonderful and not to mention the hubbly. Will definitely be coming back!

Drinking vibe around the premises, music can be a tad loud. Nice selection of beers. Friendly service but the meat was most definitely frozen prior, our pork and steak came out rubbery and sinewy, as if they weren't thawed properly prior to cooking.

We had a wonderful evening at ASOKA. A fabulous and cozy spot with a charming ambiance that sets the mood just right for our winter birthday celebration. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, perfect for a special night out. Our waitress, Emma, was an absolute star. She was professional, attentive, and friendly, adding to the overall great experience. We were pleasantly surprised with complimentary sparkling wine in celebration of a birthday, which was a lovely touch. We tried their three-course special and really enjoyed it. Everything was fresh and full of flavour. The crispy pork belly was a bit dry and under-seasoned, but the rest of the food made up for it. My only wish is that the portions were slightly more generous, especially considering the pricing. Overall, still a lovely experience and I’d definitely go back!

Great venue. Really slow service but the waiters are quite friendly and have nice energy. The host however did give a table I asked our waiter to move us to to a different couple who asked after us, the waiter just had not told the host immediately when I asked. Went for a Jazz night which was nice. The resturant itself has a great layout and decor. Food is actually really good as well. Particularly the seared Salmon, tuna tacos and chicken tikka skewers

Unfortunately we were 13 minutes past our reservation time so our table was given to someone else. We got another table and the staff would notify us if there was another available. In the meantime we got our drinks and courses and we were relaced after a while. Good service and amazing food. Be sure to try out the cocktails!

Amazing vibe, and without a doubt some of the best cocktails in Cape Town. It can get full on a Tuesday but it becomes a great vibe if that’s your thing. Perfect place to go to start your evening, beautiful people, great music and this is a fact for both Asoka and Kloof Street House - they have the best service and servers at any restaurant or bar in town. I would suggest booking in advance, I’ve gone a few times without booking and I don’t always get the table I want, and especially if you’re going in a large group.

I joined Clarke’s for lunch and it was lovely. They have a few nice outdoor areas and indoor is very trendy also. They have a grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup was really really good. I had it like a starter but it could be a main. I also had a burger which was very good but couldn’t finish it because my eyes are too big for my stomach. The staff were really lovely and have character and the menu is for hungry people. Great spot for lunch but they do an all day breakfast and dinner as well.

It's one of those places you say you're going to visit but never have the time until you get invited. At least, that was my experience. The waitress was patient & kind with our big group. I appreciate that. They found setting for us inside as got chilly outside. Their Mimosas are great! Want something for brunch try the Kimchi rich with poached Eggs, mushrooms & radish. Or a Kimchi pulled pork toasties! Beautiful place! And definitely a Cape Town staple.

Clarke's is an institution and there's not much more to say. A breakfast after a long night out. A brunch in between a busy work day. A date with a stranger, a coffee with an old friend. It makes any day that much better on account of the delicious food, service and inviting atmosphere. I highly recommend the hash eggs with their homemade hot sauce which is smoked to perfection. ❤️

I’ve eaten at this place many times and the experience is always good. However, this time I feel compelled to make a review and yes I’m giving them 1 star. Read on to see why. First of all I ordered an uber eats delivery, and didn’t dine in as I was in a rush and didn’t have time to visit in person. I knew what I wanted except when I go to their store page the choices were very limited. I normally get their signature omelette when I go to the restaurant which is very good - this wasn’t available on uber eats (why..?? It’s your speciality) secondly, not even a COFFEE was available to order. The most common and basic breakfast drink you can get. Ridiculous. Nonetheless, I settled for a sort of shakshouka type dish, and I also made a second choice of an EGG SANDWICH for later on for lunch. Both items arrived. However the egg sandwiched contained NO EGG. It was a bacon and avocado sandwich (by the way I paid extra for the avocado) but zero egg. Imagine how ridiculous this is. I got a refund on uber eats for the sandwich so it is no longer my problem, but this establishment needs to totally review their delivery system to make sure this never happens again. Utterly unacceptable. Look forward to their response to this review as well. A compensation voucher would be appreciated.

Clarke's is a lively, unique and very tasty dining experience in South Africa, The food (chicken burger and a toastie) was delicious (make sure you have plenty of napkins if you are going to order the chicken burger as there is a lot of the delicious sauce, I was covered but definitely did not mind 🙌🏼 The chips there are 1000/10! beautiful, chrispy, fresh, warm and tasty! The staff have no uniform at all so it's a bit of a guessing game who works there, the menu big enough but low on juice options especially when you don't like specific things like ginger but want the rest hehe! easy access, always busy(shows its known for being good) and great location! would definitely recommend and if I ever come back to South Africa I look forward to a delicious messy chicken burger! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We had been wanting to visit here for the last couple years and decided to take family who were visiting from overseas. Firstly, the road is under construction so our patio table had a view of scaffolding, trucks, workmen and floating dust. Not a great start but not the restaurant’s fault! We found it difficult at first to find a server but once we did, we ordered a couple of their signature burgers, medium rare, with the croissant type buns, a fried chicken burger and a mac n’ cheese with bacon. When the food arrived it looked great. Despite the cramped little plastic baskets that crowded the burgers and fries, the bun looked epic. I took my first burger bite… and?! Crispy, sure, but tasteless, that bun lead way to a thick, unseasoned chunk of very well done beef. Besides the pice of cheese there was nothing else to provide flavour, texture or moisture. It needed way less minutes on the grill and way more in terms of toppings! No lettuce, tomato or sauce at all. Think beef sausage roll unsalted. Very stodgy, very flat. For me - very sad!!! 😢 Our son had the chicken burger which he says needed a good splat of tomato sauce to save it from its sour sauce. He wasn’t a fan of the crispy croissant-y bun. The mac and cheese was by far the star. Quite rich but delicious 🤤 We then struggled to get the bill - asking anyone and everyone. Finally, we paid up and left feeling like we’d ticked it off the list, in other words ‘been there, done that. Next!’

Good place for some good quality hamburgers served in a "cafe" style vibe. They only do a couple of burgers, but at a high quality rate. Service was good and an overall good experience. There are various drinks and beers on offer.

Visited Van Hunks for the first time this past week and what a great experience I had. From the minute we walked in, the staff were super friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere was cosy and comfortable too. Their menu had enough options from Pizza’s to Burgers, to Salads to Main Courses. Everything was decently priced. I forgot to take pictures however will definitely revisit to take pictures to add onto this review. Overall a great spot for dinner, drinks and conversing. A definite recommendation.

A great spot for a casual meal and coffee. The food is solid, especially considering the price, great coffee and excellent club sandwiches. The atmosphere is very laid-back and social, making it a nice place to hang out. However, the service can be a bit slow, which seems to be in line with the relaxed vibe of the place. The location is also a plus, as it serves as a great hub to explore nearby bars and spots. Perfect for a chill hangout.

Had an extremely unpleasant experience with one of the waiters/hosts. I was sitting alone at a table because some of my friends had gone to the bar to order drinks. The staff member came up to me and asked how many we are, I explained some of my friends where at the bar and that more of our friends where on the way. He wanted me to give up my table for other guests he was with despite the fact that there were several other tables that were free. He began arguing with me for a while and was becoming quite hostile. I could not understand why we would need to give up our table when there are plenty of us and the table behind us was also a full table of our friends. Eventually I asked him what his name was, and he started becoming a bit aggressive and firstly refused to tell me his name, kept asking me why I want to know his name and then started telling me that there is nothing I can do with his name so I mustn't even try it? This is not how staff at any establishment should behave towards customers and the guy was quite erratic and aggresive. I wanted his name to speak to a manager about the behaviour being shown towards me as anyone would in this situation. I enventually dropped the issue because my friends felt it might become a safety concern or the guy could become more aggresive and escalate the situation if I had tried to complain in person. But this is genuinely unnacceptable way to interact with customers at any establishment. Especially somewhere my friends and I come frequently.

Barman was so clueless we could have left without paying they never would have noticed. Frozen slushies had no alcohol whatsoever, disappointed for the price of 65. Too hot inside. Smelled cheap cheese for the pizza so we didn't take it.

The pizzas were very tasty. The bottom is nice and thin and the ingredients are fresh. There is the possibility to put together your own pizza. The pizzas are served without cutlery but are pre-cut so I only messed up once. It has a hip vibe with music and it's well decorated inside. The staff is very nice. Too bad they don't have desserts but that's the only comment.

Perfect spot for a nice lunch or a chill evening. The food is really affordable and tasty. The atmosphere cuts you out of the city, this allow you to feel free for a nice moment surrounded by plants and wooden decorations. Be ready to wait a little if you order a salade because everything is fresh made and they care about the details. Overall a great place to hang or grab a bite.

Very nice spot in the heart of Cape Town. We stopped here for one drink, the place was very vibey and they had live music going which was a very nice surprise as we went fairy early in the evening. I would definitely return to try out their cocktails too as I didnt get a chance to this time.

A vibey place with a friendly, inclusive atmosphere and cool theming. It's a great place to hang out with friends and watch live music. The outside area which spills onto the street is lovely, especially in summer. Tuesday night open mic night is always interesting to attend, with a variety of acts in multiple genres which the patrons take very seriously. I have not had the food but apparently it's good. The drink selection is decent. The staff are friendly and helpful. Slightly cramped but the layout makes good use of the space. Remember, "don't be a dick."

The vibe of the place is absolutely spectacular and the cocktails are amazing usually however my friends and I had a rather odd experience this night. We had ordered margaritas and we asked if they could salt the rim for us. The first few times a bartender done it for us. We then had a different bartender and he refused. This was after we had paid and tipped him. I do feel that for the price that we are paying for a cocktail + tip we should be able to make a simple request as salting the rim of the margarita. This experience left a bitter taste and felt that our experience and service thereafter just was not the same. This is only our second time at this establishment and we are disappointed. We hope management takes this feedback seriously.

It's awesome but it's an acquired taste for sure! Its not if you want to just be with your friends in calm and serenity. It's if you want to live up energy and speak nonsense and laugh eith them and then forget it later type of vibe. Very fun, but not for everyone. I like it though.

A great place to hang out, especially on first Thursdays. It can get quite crowded but worth a stop. Staff help you keep safe especially as it gets later, which is much appreciated. The hot chocolate definitely needed a little more flavour, next time please 😉

Great atmosphere, been numerous times. Well trained staff, who know how to make a cocktail! Would recommend if in the area. Minor negative- On 'open mic' night (Tuesday), the organiser is a bit pedantic, insisting on silence for the artists/performers, which isn't why folk go to bars, but still enjoyable.

Came for quick late lunch ,Our waitress Matuda was super friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. Food came out quickly and she checked in on us regularly. Great service overall! 4.5/5 stars.

Awesome spot. The DJ was average. The dancing space is way to small. It gets really really hot. The bars are great. Looks and feel is fresh and the balconies are awesome. Atmosphere is good.

First time trying the food at The Moveable Feast, and it was surprisingly good. The vibe is really nice, albeit quite loud and noisy due to the outdoor balcony area that's usually filled with folks out drinking and having fun. The food was really nice, the wine list ws also quite good. Service was rather slow but the place was packed, so was kind of expected. All in all really nice.

I’ve gone to Moveable Feast a few times with an extensive group of local Cape Townians. A few of my friends are LGBTQIA - and I have now heard 2 separate accounts of staff members and security at this establishment bursting into the BATHROOM CUBICLES of my friends who are just using the toilet and interrogating them as to what they are doing. If you are LGBTQIA+ and you want to go to Moveable Feast - PLEASE be aware that their staff are NOT friendly to queer or trans folks. I beg the managers of Moveable Feast to address this treatment of LGBTQIA+ customers as it is inhumane and unconstitutional.

Served by a drunk waitress, when we complained about the food we where told that it wasn't her problem as she was only the waitress. Food was disgusting and the DJ was smoking in the dining room.

The music was good on the evening we went. The vibe was welcoming, the dance floor was full but not to the level of being cramped or uncomfortable. The bar was busy though.

We saw a cockroach roaming on the floor but other than that their food was great. I did feel like the tagliatelle was a small portion but their burgers were nice and they came in big portions. Waitresses and waiters were kind and nice making the experience great. It was also a last minute booking so I’m glad they squeezed us in.

I loved everything about The Station on Bree. The food was delicious. Great vibe! The decor, including the old red telephone booth, adds to the experience. The "British-isms" in the menu are clever and quirky! The manager is such a cool guy. Our waitress was friendly and got our orders right, but she was just a little slow to attend to us between courses and took a long time to clear the table. It's clever how the place is divided into separate areas, depending on what vibe you're after.

I have been there with my partner and our 5 girls. This was a great experience for all of us The food is wonderful! The vibes are magic! The team is so welcoming!! A must do at least once in Cape Town!! It's one of my favourites!

I love this place. We had prawns & Chorizo Pasta, Greg had mushroom truffle pasta! The decor is fantastic. Tempted to come back tonight as they only close at 4am. It turns into a late dance party. Amazing concept. The decor makes me miss London.

An awesome Sunday lunch surprise. Shocked that there weren't more patrons enjoying the same doting service (thank you Yvonne. Amazing attention & menu insight), delicious - great portions - food & well-priced quality red wine. Perfect vibe if you're looking for a good meal or to relax in comfort. Clean, nice ambiance and again, great service from the staff. Can't wait to return for weekday specials & happy hour! Love the decor (esp if you're from the UK) and was impressed with the cleanliness. Kebab is a great option & calamari schwara a winner.

We are quite disappointed at the service and food we received. Firstly, our burgers were raw, when we told our waiter he made the chef aware to which we were told, that is how they make them, rare. I made the waiter aware we should at least have been given the option, it was raw mince, nothing more... drinks never arrived, we had to ask multiple waitrons, just not as happy as all the reviews had made it. Other food was very nice, nice Gin :) would like to try the experience again.

The coffee at Hans and Lloyd (Newlands) is good. Small mugs though and for the price this goes down quickly. Service was good and we were served quite quickly once sitting down. But staff do not seem that enthusiastic, though it was busy and we did receive our orders quite quickly. Atmosphere is always good here, vibey and trendy. And they allow dogs inside, even though we actually sat outside this time. Another member in our group ordered the egg and bacon breakfast and this looked amazing. And I'd definitely go back to explore many of the other items on the menu as it all looked great. Just a warning that the rest of this review is more of a review on their one item, the chocolate croissant. I ordered the chocolate croissant (which was offically called a "Giant" Chocolate Chip Croissant). But there were no chocolate chips inside. It was well shaped though (like a croissant should be). There are two types of chocolate croissants here, a bigger one and a smaller one so be sure to get the bigger one. 🥐 Pastry quality was good and crispy but sadly a bit lacking on the buttery taste you'd find in a good croissant. The taste of chocolate inner filling was quite bland though - however the amount of chocolate inside was good... could have been more but I am a chocolate person so I prefer more chocolate than less.

Sorry the pictures are not appealing but the last 2 times have been so inconsistent. My partner & I have come here a handful of times to order takeaway coffees and breakfasts to go. The first time was a breakfast toastie, croissants (Really good) and coffees which were all 10/10. The second time, a breakfast croissant and coffee, paid for egg, bacon and cheese on a croissant and got a croissant with egg and cheese. Didn’t think to double check it when receiving but got home and saw no bacon. Damn. Today, we decided to go try them out and sit in the back courtyard. It was busy. We ordered red cappuccinos, I asked for cinnamon and they said they didn’t have. Basic thing not to have? Then my partner and I both ordered eggs Benedict’s, both eggs were really soft. It could’ve been done for 2 min longer. It was really off putting. When I told our waiter he said “Okay” and walked away. The service is inconsistent.

Always a good meal at Hans & Lloyd Coffee Co. My wife and I love this breakfast spot in the heart of Newlands. Love the atmosphere, the food is amazing as always and the service was decent. Also, definately worth trying the smoothies and full breakfasts. The peaceful setting, surrounded by the perfect aromas of freshly ground coffee, really is the best way to start any day. This coffee is absolutely incredible - honestly, I think it might be the best I've ever had, and I've tried like... so many places. I'm basically a walking coffee tour at this point, always on the hunt for my next fix (not sorry about my caffeine addiction lol). But really though, this is what coffee dreams are made of. Why do I feel like I just went on vacation without leaving the city? Adding this to my mental map of spots I'll be way too excited to tell everyone about. Can't wait to come back here seventeen more times this month!

Hans & Lloyd is kind of a hidden gem in Newlands — a stylish, modern coffee spot with serious attention to quality. The coffee is excellent: smooth, rich, and clearly crafted with care. Easily one of the best flat whites in the area. The space is clean, minimal, and has a cool, boutique vibe. It’s a great place to meet a friend, take a quiet break, or grab a takeaway. The staff are friendly, professional, and clearly passionate about what they do. They also offer a small but solid selection of pastries and baked goods — fresh, delicious, and perfect alongside the coffee. If you're into great coffee without the fuss, Hans & Lloyd delivers. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the Newlands area.

The most delicious ice-cream and a huge array of flavours. I love that they cater to diabetics and those on sugar-free diets. The staff are also friendly and happy to allow you to taste before you buy.

The best ice cream parlour in my opinion creative selections and rich and deep flavors also good sugar cones . I also like the multi colored scoop spoons. Areas of growth: Have more citrus flavors and waffles. Service wasn’t great I found the cashiers demeanor inpolite and impatient also like 2 people helping please work on service. On weekend they’re should be 3 people serving behind the counter and they should have a friendly and patient demeanor.

Shocking service this evening at the Newlands shop. Perfect balmy weather for ice creams which are delicious by the way. But the service sucks. We joined a queue which had extended to the front door by the time we arrived. After 20 minutes we baled out . Enough is enough. Only one guy in a T shirt was working. He was doing a double shift. Taking the orders, making the orders and then doing the finance. There was another person there, but she was engrossed in her mobile and clearly couldn’t care less about the most important people in the shop vis. The customers. In a word disgraceful. Walked into what felt like a party…at 5pm on a Tuesday and it was packed to the rafters. Pumping tunes and a very happy crowd was having an absolute blast. Drinks and cocktails were flowing, with some patrons looking like they’d been there since lunch. Fantastic service and a super cool vibe. The Negroni was STRONG & GOOD; and reasonably priced too. Very limited menu with some interesting (crazy?) options. Didn’t stay long but will DEFINITELY BE BACK SOON VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Decor & music as well as small details like personalised matchboxes make it a 1/1million experience. Do yourself a favour and go try the pita please & acid salad. Fantastic casual dining restaurant which is not too taxing on one's wallet. I had walked past it a number of times hence decided to finally try it on a hot Sunday afternoon couple of weeks back. Check-in was smooth as a young lass ushered us to our seats. It has a mix of bench style communal seating with a few chair-table options along with bar stools. Décor resembles a run down American bar with a hippie vibe. Menu is a one pager no-frills affair and a good break from a book like menu. One expects quality stuff especially from a brief menu and we sure weren't disappointed. We ordered their signature beers for drinks which were fantastic. For food we relied on suggestions of our waitress and ordered Chicken Prego, Fiery fries, peta bread and humus. Each of these three dishes were fresh and delectable. The fries are unique to Blondie and I've never had this preparation before. And Peta was the freshest, tastiest and most flavorful that I've ever had. Total bill with tip was 360 Zars (2 500ml beers, 2 dishes, 1 signature fries) which was very reasonable compared to all experiences I've had of kloof street and CBD restaurants. Service was quick overall although helped by the fact that we arrived around 12 noon but I'm sure it's spot on irrespective. The place was choc-a-block full by the time we left. Well done to the owners and their crew. Hope you maintain the standards that I experienced on the day. I'll be back with a bigger group next time.

The coffee is really good! Best latté I've had in a while. Service is great and friendly! Although sometimes there's only a couple of people in the shop but the coffee still takes a while. But it's a small price to pay for a really good cup!

Popped in for a coffee, super busy with the Newlands folk post walk, jog cycle vibes… Venue was neat, clean with cool vibe, not much on the menu side, but I guess for a coffee and quick catch up with a mate, it will hit the spot. There were some pastries and cakes on offer. Coffee was quite reasonably priced too, though acoustics are not great. Ciao SB ☕️

Pre packaged sandwiches and wraps are on offer with quiches and a variety of baked goods. Seed bars and date balls are available for the health conscious. This is your spot if you want coffee the way you like it.

Häzz makes exceptional coffee for a very reasonable price. Great open layout. Perfect for meeting someone for coffee or just to go take a break from work.

Going here was such a fun experience. You have to enter the bar through Honest Chocolate Cafe, and at the back is a room where you can order from either The Gin Bar or The Bubbly Bar. At The Gin Bar, you can choose from a selection of "embalming" drinks. It's really fun and pretty. And a good stop if you're cocktail or bar hopping. Would recommend!

Stopped by for a quick drink before an event in Cape Town. The drinks were great and the atmosphere as well. Unfortunately the service was not great. The barman was unenthusiastic to a point where his rudeness made our whole group quite uncomfortable (mind you we were super excited to try out some new drinks). It was not busy at all and the other barman seemed very friendly, but this one, unfortunately made the whole experience quite awkward. Just because of this I don’t think I’d recommend this place to friends since there are so many other places literally right around the corner.

Wander through to the back of Honest Chocolate and you find a great little bar. Their speciality is based on 5 gin&tonics with a good combination of ingredients and botanicals. We tried them all and were very pleased - all very different. Katiego and Christian were great hosts and we had a very pleasant couple of hours here on a late Tuesday afternoon. Another bar that should definitely be on your Cape Town bars list.

We went for a late night cocktail and we are so happy that we did. You have to walk through the Honest Chocolate Cafe through to the Chapel Room. The old wooden floors and high ceilings are such a vibe. They make the best Martini's you will ever find in Cape Town.

If you're on a date, meeting for drinks after work or just looking for a good place to have a drink with friends, this is your best option. The people who work there are just as friendly and welcoming as the patrons. I can think of very few people who I wouldn't recommend the gin bar to.

I would give this a 5 star but the Salmon Bagel disappointed. From the moment I tried this place,it’s been my favourite. The burgers are juicy, good prices, nice portions,beautiful restaurant and fries are tasty. I was excited to take my parents here for the first time. Dad ordered a steak roll,and mom ordered the salmon bagel. There was barely cream cheese on, the bagel tasted dry and the salmon had an off putting taste. I feel like it should come with a side, like a salad. I would’ve loved if she could’ve treated the quality I received on the days I’ve been there. The basket of fries could have been filled more and the steak roll to come with some sort of sauce or gravy. My burger and hazelnut iced latte was awesome though.

A friend highly recommended this place, therefore it was only worthwhile experiencing it for myself. The parking is located at the Newlands Peak and the security was quite friendly. Access from the parking to the cafe is easily and safely away from the rain. There was no wait time for a table and it was great to see a familiar face as a waitress at this establishment considering it was our first time. The owner, Nawaz, is friendly and appreciative of his customers. I had a brilliant Bagel (see the picture uploaded for evidence) and my mother had the most freshly made omelet that was well worth the price. There were so many options for breakfast and the best part is that it is an all day served breakfast menu. We will be back for supper as it is served from 12pm onwards. The matcha latte was made the way I make it with chasen and it was actually good. The atmosphere was calm and no one made us feel like we needed to leave as soon as we had finished eaten. It was a pleasurable morning and we definitely shall be back. I want that tagliatelle.

We were a group of 7, so we sat inside at the big table. The atmosphere was calm and comfortable. The music wasn’t too loud so it was easy to hold a conversation. Food isn’t badly priced. Although being a lovely restaurant environment, the staff were way too relaxed. They were late with our food, didn’t come round for another order of drinks, we struggled to get their attention and the food came out in drips and drabs. They walked past the table even though we were trying to get their attention. By the time we ate everything had gone luke warm. The food is fine but unfortunately the service let the place down.

Went out a few nights ago. It was a welcomed surprise to say the least. It's got a nice atmosphere, busy without being crowded. You can have decent conversation without listening to everyone else's conversations. Food could've and shouldve been better, decent for the cost. Coffee was okish There's a nice selection of cakes however they needed a meringue or tart to offset the richness. All in all quite nice, a decent halaal place for once.

I had a great experience at Shift Espresso Bar! The coffee was rich and smooth, and the atmosphere was cozy and welcoming. The staff were friendly, professional, and made sure everything was perfect. It’s definitely one of my favorite spots for a good cup of coffee and a relaxing vibe. Highly recommend to anyone looking for quality and great service!

Good service we received. Love their pizzas. Had the Blue Ivy and Soho: my preference being the former. Also they make great coffee. The Caffè Latte was amazing. Would love to here more of my preferred style of music but hey, it's all good nonetheless.

The staff is appallingly rude and disrespectful. The bouncers and the blonde woman at the front act like they are doing everyone are favour, make below the belt comments and are just blatantly disrespectful. Getting in and out of the place felt like a mission everytime because we’d have to deal with the unbelievably rude bouncer and the woman in charge of stamping/giving bands for some reason did not want to do either??? Rude and unfriendly staff. Would definitely not go back nor recommend.

2 phones stolen and staff did absolutely nothing, they didn't care one bit. Including the manager. They also let in underaged kids (mostly girls) with a fake digital ID, don't allow your kids to go here.

Arcade has become a Cape Town staple. During the day it is a great lunch spot and for drinks with friends. At night it transforms into a party hot-spot. There are daily specials for lunch, and all the food has been great. Be sure to ask the waiters if there is anything available off-menu. Just go there, period.

The experience was subpar at best bar closed 3 hours early and they ejected every one more over 3 hours early staff where unhelpful as well will never go back. Ever!

Beautiful Braai / picnic area. The gravel roads and ditches can certainly be maintained better. Officers patrolled regularly so we always felt safe and the crowd was well behaved.

Had a fun, spontaneous braai during the week. It was pretty empty, only one other group, so there were lots of braai spots to choose from. Most of the spots are clean but there is a tap if you want to clean the tables. There are also plenty of bins. Overall, a really nice spot for family/ friend braais. Lots of space for the kids to run around. It's also close to the hiking trails if you want to go for a hike afterwards.

Great affordable place for relaxed family braai, or noise minimal get together (i.e. baby shower, picnic birthday etc.). R40 per person (pay at gate, card machine accepted). Toilets clean and nearly. You need to bring your own braai grill (one large enough to fit over the concrete fire place). Balloons and decorating allowed, but picnic spot must be spotless when leaving. Gorgeous old tress in this picnic spot.

High expectations were met with utter disappointment. Park rules clearly state that no alcohol or loud music is allowed but patrons were openly drinking beer while playing loud music. The serenity we expected was nowhere to be found. Further to this, the built in braai’s were mostly broken and the area is littered with hundreds of cigarette butts. Even though we immediately left again, we were denied a refund. Very disappointing - better oversight is required.

This is a really lovely park but the prices depicted on the internet is incorrect. It's actually more than indicated. However, as they only take cash we had to struggle to find a bank to draw money. Not really the best experience... But the park itself is beautiful. Braai areas and trails to go hike.

Looking for a place to relax and have a braai (BBQ for foreigners)? You must make a stop here. You will find braai areas under trees in various locations. It's a strenuous but rewarding climb to a great viewpoint. If you're short on time or energy, you can get almost as good a view of the Lion's Head and Signal Hill from the third sharp bend in the path, which is only a 10-minute climb from Tafelberg Road.

Short, but slightly challenging climb. The views are totally worth it. Trail is relatively well maintained. Just be careful of some slippery stones/rocks and a few loose rocks along the upper most steps.

A highly recommended hike to partake in however be warned as the endless series of steps eats heavily into your calves. However once you have made it to the top, there is no greater triumphant feeling, with your reward being the amazing view below. Kloof Corner offers an amazing sunset view hence this trail is recommended either at dawn or just before the sunset.

It’s the most incredible walk … very manageable if you go up india venster to the cable car, but be careful there are walks around the kloof corner side, yhat start getting pretty technical… it’s also quite a strenuous walk of a couple of hours, so don’t do it unless you are fairly fit

Another masterpiece of the nature. Actually one of the most beautiful hiking in the city which barely has tourists.

This is quite feel good and quick hike when you dont have much time and also enjoy the sunrise or sunset with amazing views of lions head, gardens and camps bay…will take 1-1.5 hr for return hike and have some good inclination to burn the calories. I generally go with kids and family or when time is the key. I have done it many times and still love like i loved first day. Its a good try for beginners. Parking is also not a concern for this hike at the start.

This is an amazing place for sunset! Just a few things to check in order to have the best experience: * Better to come by car if you are planning to watch the sunset from here. The starting point is close to the city by car, but we had a very hard time trying to get an uber after the sunset and walking back to the city during the night was not fun at all! * the hike is short and easy, but there are plenty of steps so allow at least 30 minutes to make sure you can make it to the top at a comfortable pace * the golden hour here is stunning! I suggest coming about 1h20 -1h30 before the sunset starts if you like to just sit down, enjoy a snack and fascinating views * since the hike is very easy, I would recommend taking some snacks and even some drinks with you! We saw people drinking gin&tonic, champagne, a glass of wine… it feels really nice and relaxing! * don’t forget to put on sunscreen! Even though it is sunset, the UV is very high in Cape Town!

Rad vibe with real people, Great place to watch sport and kick back... Not the busiest place, but that is what makes it great. Always a mixed bag from locals to new faces. Nice drinks specials and friendly staff....Great fireplace. Gets crazy with international games!

You always think that you are going in for one drink... bit that is not the case. From early morning breakfasts watching sport, to the evening games of sport of various kinds. This is the norm for a weekend day. In the evening, it turns into a night club of various ages. Sometimes, theme parties or specials are had during the week which bring in the younger crowds. Great place to enjoy oneself with friends and sporting mates.

Fresh food and cold beer

Great place to get a few cold ones in pre or post match. If you love rugby then this pub is for you. They have good food at reasonable prices as well.

The Springbok pub located in the Newlands cricket complex offers you a typical sports pub feel as soon as you enter the doors. Don't expect the upmarket cocktail lounge vibes one would expect from a Clifton beach bar, though if it is a laid back sport bar entrenched in cape town cricket history then you at the right place. As with most local pubs of a reputable reputation they offer a wide range of local and craft beer. Food is well prepared though don't expect anything more than your usual pub meals. Staff are friendly and this helps one feel most welcome. Students though can make certain nights quite festive. So noise levels might bother those looking for a quiet drink somewhere.

Fridays it is buy one pizza and get a second one free plus they have live music. What a bargain.? Good service. Friendly staff. Yummy food.

Very empty and the staff are not very knowledgeable about their beers. If you looking for a spot to have a beer(non craft) or two after work maybe catch some sport it's the perfect place. The venue does come alive after rugby and cricket because it's located in walking distance from newlands rugby and cricket stadiums. The food is good have never been disappointed. The have a craft brewery on site and they do offer tasters on Saturday. Newlands has some great pubs and springboks is not one of them. It used to be the main attraction in the claremont /newlands area for students now it's just a simple local with 5 regular customers.

Security system needs to be revisited. Got robbed INSIDE the premises. 4 10am on Sunday. Coloured guy snatched my phone and started passing it between about 10 of his friends. I immediately got the bouncers' attention and asked them to prevent these guys exiting before I'd gotten the phone back. Bouncers let all of them leave and said there's nothing we can do. Went to the security office immediately. They wouldn't show me the camera footage and told me to call on Monday. I get that phones get stolen. But so blatantly inside your premises and in front of your bouncers? Not even a pickpocket - but a full on 10 man gang up and snatch. Are you guys in on this or why would you let the clearly identified perpetrators leave so quickly?

“The best place in Cape Town!” was my original review. I came into modular on Thursday and got a sticker on my camera then used my phone to pay for entrance. I walked inside and immediately realised I didn’t have my phone. It’s possible that I dropped it, or also possible that I was pick pocketed. When I went outside and we asked the bouncers, once bouncer said “is this your phone?” I said it was and then he made me write a good review on google to get it back. I am not sure if there were any ill intentions but has something similar happened to anyone else?

Really interesting way to run a club, putting people on the guestlist and then refusing to let them in unless they pay anyway. The staff at the door clearly take pride in being as rude and dismissive as possible, which I guess must be part of the “experience.” If you enjoy being spoken down to and paying for something you were already promised for free, this is definitely the place for you. Otherwise, there are plenty of other venues that actually value their guests.

I recently had some new friends, a straight couple, from Brazil, but stationed in Ethiopia, visiting Cape Town and they asked if there is anywhere to go dancing. I hadn't been clubbing in a long time and not being in the mood for the usual places I googled. Stumbled onto this place. It had some good reviews, decided let's chance it - the month is October so many dressed for Halloween. Fun. I thought the cover charge was reasonable, they had a neat garde-de-robe, always a good sign, the staff were friendly and welcoming, which does make for a pleasant change to the usual pretentious or exclusive vibes at so many gay places. In fact this place was all about inclusivity. Being in our 40s and 50s did not cast us as the Golden Girls. The crowd was very mixed - age, race, dress, and the general atmosphere was friendly. Their security check was very strict. Prepare for a propper pat-down (like entering a complicated foreign country) and then I had to have all the items in my glitter moon-bag revealed, the couple had similar treatment. I found it a bit too Nancy Reagan but it impressed my guests, who thought it showed the place was clean, well run and a safe space to be in. We had a drink, and then we decided to hit the dance floor. It was busy but not packed like sardines, they have powerful air conditioning on it so nobody's lashes start running down their cheeks. perfect for dancing. The music was Fantastic in spurts... some great classics that got sampled into whole new creations, and then it would all be slowed right down and we find ourselves in ballad country, then it would wind up again... with a fierce, sexy beat faster and faster and then fizzle out into boring again... for the entire time we were dancing. Still, we danced for hours. There were plenty great mixes in there but two words for the Dj - mood stabilisers. I will go to this club again, it was a good evening out dancing in a space that was not a crush, it was clean, inclusive, safe and fun.

Thank you for being so amazing! We organised a very last minute bachelorette for my sister in law and service from the door to the end of the night was impeccable! We had an absolute blast - when you say VIP you mean VIP - we were treated as if we were gold and we cannot say thank you enough! You even got my older sister in law on the dance floor which is rarer than rare! Thank you thank you thank you! You'll see us again soon!

It only really picks up at 11. Otherwise its a great queer environment for anybody to come and dance to electronic combo pop. Great music. I go once a month.

I have been to Pink Panther ten or more times and I can honestly say it’s my favorite place in Cape Town. I’ve read some other reviews here about the music and I don’t agree with all of them. I love the music here - specifically when Karl or Bruce DJ. But I guess it’s all down to what type of music you like. I prefer house dance music, and those two spin it best. I always feel safe there, which I appreciate - YES, keep your phones put away...it’s South Africa, and people do pick pockets. It has nothing to do with the club itself, though. There is a lot of room to dance without being overcrowded, and I love the fact there are a ton of places to sit. That’s something you don’t find in a ton of dance clubs. It’s nice to find gay clubs where everyone is welcome and accepted - regardless of sexual identity. Drinks here are always the same price - no shady bartenders. And all of the bartenders are attentive and friendly. I always feel very welcome here. AND HELLO - the bathrooms are always CLEAN. Another rarity in a busy dance club. I’ll be back many more times for sure.

I've wanted to visit this club since forever, so glad I finally got to do it while I was in Cape Town this weekend. The experience, music and staff are absolutely amazing. A real safe space for the LGBTQ community to be free.

Went here for a late lunch with some friends. Found the beer selection to be good, food was delicious, with good portions and was well priced. A friend had the ribs and looked amazing, I had the burger which was great. Chips were made well. Will definitely visit again.

Our local. Friendly service. Fantastic pizzas. Upstairs pub area plus a downstairs "family restaurant" setup. Their poppers are potent. Perfect place before or after watching a game at Newlands Rugby Stadium - if you're lucky enough to find a spot.

Lovely local pub grub, good pizzas and burgers, they have a lovely indoor and outdoor seating areas with a fireplace downstairs. The upstairs bar area does get a bit chilly in winter though. Great for large groups and birthday celebrations.

Absolutely fantastic restaurant right next door to the Newlands stadium. There are different sections of the restaurant which have completely different feels which makes it unique. The ribs are some of the best ribs I have had at a restaurant and I would highly recommend them. One word of warning is that this place can become jam packed on game day so I would avoid it when there is rugby being played.

Very nice setting under the trees of Newlands and right next to the river. Had an excellent burger meal at a very reasonable price and would happily go there again. I would imagine it's madness during a game at the stadium though, so best go when it's quiet.

Decent burgers and range, not too pricey and kids like going there. Unfortunately lost stars because of unreasonable corkage (R40) services was a little slow, venue was too noisy for a conversation with all at my table and onions were quite oily. Don't let this put you off though, will keep going back.

Friends birthday celebration, table wasn't prepared prior to arrival. I chose Eisbein which really was distinctly average and costly too. Overall not a great experience. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Not worth a visit, paid R150 entrance fee, pop in 10.30 dance floor empty, music not good for a club like this. Sorry guys there must be an approvement in entertaining.

I’m really disappointed with the service we received at secrets last night !!!!! Me and my friends and I ordered few drinks while waiting for the rest of our friends to arrive . We moved to another table Shortly after, a staff member with the name Samantha approached us in a very rude and aggressive manner, saying, “I can’t run around looking for you guys with the bill.” which we never asking for it.This was unnecessary and made us feel unwelcome, especially since we had no intention of leaving we were planning to stay, order more, and enjoy our night there. She also told us we weren’t allowed to sit in the area we moved to, even though we had politely asked the customers already sitting there if it was okay. area, and to our surprise, she actually went over to the other customers and asked them directly if they had “given us permission” to sit there — as if we were lying. It was embarrassing, unnecessary, and made the whole group feel uncomfortable and unwelcome!!!!!!!

My first time at Secret Euphoria Cape Town, Belinda welcomed me like I was a prominent person, the food was perfect, I got my favorite, shisha, and alcohol was served to me. Leo is an absolute legend, the bar itself is cosy, intimate, reasonably priced and fun. Grab a seat at the bar and have a chat with the bar staff, they are very experienced and great to have a friendly chat with.

One of my favourite wine bars in CPT. They select very interesting and unusual wines that you can try before ordering. Convenient either for single people coming to casually sip their glass at the counter, or for bunch of friends.

I came to the bar after seeing all the positive reviews on the internet. I deeply regret doing that. The same bottles of wine are more expensive than in other wine bars around the city and the uncomfortable seating area on the pedestrian path was awful as well. It might be a different culture that I don't understand from Europe but generally I wouldn't even consider coming back. If you like the cozy atmosphere and decent environment just choose some other place.

Really cool wine bar filled with locals and busy on weekdays as well. Nice selection of indoor and outdoor seating. Wines are more expensive than most bars and restaurants in Cape Town and we were a little disappointed with the staff, they weren’t very welcoming or helpful with the wines, don’t mind paying more for wine at a wine bar but expect a little description if asking about a certain wine. We were also going to get our second glass of red poured into our old glasses that previously had orange wine in them, that’s a huge no for me.

My favourite wine bar in Cape Town, small but very well thought out list and all available by the glass Very knowledgeable staff and make sure you have some snacks with your wine!

We went to Kloof Street House twice and enjoyed the experiences differently but equally well. Inside and outside were both inspiring eating experiences. The staff and customers were beautiful and cool. The food imaginative and tasty. Not overpriced and served with joy.

Upper Kloof St has an array of delightful range of eateries. Most of the unique and as alone standing businesses definitely worth the visit. I have yet to send a pic collection.

Dean Street Newlands store a disgrace. Website and sign on door indicate an 8.30am opening time. The staff member arrived at 9.10 am saying due to Covid the opening time is 9am. Covid does not stop you as a courtesy to amend your sign and website or for your staff to arrive on time. Owner Gary uncontactable and not in Cape Town. By contrast Lakeside store excellent. Different owners. Gary who is the franchisor shows a poor example to his franchisees.

Wild Raw King Prawns - AMAZING! R550 for 2 KG I treated my husband for Father's Day. They were superb and lots of treats to come from the freezer as they are frozen individually :)
