Such beauty Incredible scenery to take in, and good birdlife. The hike is incredible, although slightly challenging in places, so make sure you're wearing decent shoes. The beach is awesome and the island is well worth a visit. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here, even if it was just for an afternoon

Great place to hike. Definitely plan to do the big hike (min. 4 hrs.). Hike is not really complicated but you have to climb over rocks so I would rate it as mid to hard. You can see (and smell) the seals and also the great scenery. One of the best hikes we did in South Africa. We also saw a lot of dolphins and a whale (unfortunately far away but you can see them). The shark watcher also said he saw a big white shark a week before our visit.

Another beautiful place which is a must visit. Got to see live and dead seals, comorants and a dead whale on the beach. Its a bit of hike and we need good shoes with proper grip to walk on slippery rocks.

GORGEOUS views. We did the mid-sized trail and it was intense already - some difficult pieces along the way, but nothing impossible. Keep following the signs and you should have no problem. If you can, go with impermeable shoes all closed because of the sand. The seals are easy to hear and spot, but binoculars make it easier. It’s amazing, you will love it.

An amazing hiking trail! I would say it’s more of an intermediate-level hike, with breathtaking views along the way. The untouched, virgin beaches felt like part of a dream. My boys especially loved spending time there—they even created a fun character called “PEPE”, complete with multiple defense systems to protect him from the wild, crashing waves. It was such a memorable and adventurous experience!

Parking can be challenging on the weekends but this place is stunning. We went on a 2 km hike, just past the gap and then back, and saw a huge pod of dolphins swimming by. Seals had joined in on their hunt and we watched as they frolicked. Beautiful coast.

Exceptionally beautiful place. We did the Gap Trail, and we loved every step of it. It's not always easy, but the views are fantastic. We saw the seals, many birds, sharks and several gorgeous beaches.

Lovely views and fun decorated atmosphere. Butternut&feta side is a great choice, fish was perfectly cooked but didn't like the taste of the calamari, predominant crispy crumbs (perhaps the oil was due for fresh batch?) No baby changing area. Good selection on kids menu.

The Lookout Deck boasts one of the most breathtaking seaside views in Plettenberg Bay, perched right on the beachfront, it offers an unbeatable backdrop of ocean and horizon while you dine. The option to sit inside or outside is a plus, and the gentle sea breeze adds something special to the experience. The menu is varied, with almost daily specials and occasional live performances. While we appreciate live music, the upbeat style on the night felt a little mismatched to the setting—we would’ve loved something more relaxed to complement the sound of the waves and tranquil atmosphere. We ordered the grilled hake, which arrived fairly quickly and well portioned, but unfortunately, both portions were overcooked. The side dishes, however, crispy chips and fresh salad, were excellent. Although the waitress was friendly, service was somewhat slow and a few requests were left unattended. Despite this, when we raised the issue, a manager responded promptly, apologized sincerely, and arranged for our meals to be redone. The replacements were superb—tender, perfectly cooked, and truly delicious. The coffee that followed was excellent, and we appreciated the senior staff checking in personally to ensure all was well. All in all, a pleasant and memorable date night with my wife. We’d gladly return and look forward to another meal here.

The Lookout Deck The Lookout Deck is located on the edge of Plettenbergbay between sand and sea, with the backdrop of Plettenbergbay and the beautiful seaview on the horizon. We went for lunch and order the Wednesday Special (Pint of Prawns). The portion exceeded our expectations, it was big with 10 prawns hanging over the cup. Delicious, flavorful and filling. Ordered an extra side chips, but it was too much for two people to eat. Great atmosphere and friendly service. Zola's smile and positive attitude was something that is burned in our hearts. Thank you!

For 20 years in this place still keeps giving. Right on the beach, it doesn't get any better. No fuss no frills place that does offer quality. Their salad with capers and calamari tubes is spectacular in taste. The R99 Monday burger special is a steal. No fancy burger but good enough with plenty of great chips.

Awesome location but not impressed with the food. The bread tasted stale and the pizza over cooked. My son asked for parma cheese for his pizza and they said it would cost an extra R52🤪

We stumbled upon the brewery by chance today. We were very impressed by the property. We ordered something to eat there. It was delicious. The burger was very tasty, the meat was very tender. The beer was really delicious. As a German, I can highly recommend the Hefeweizen. The waiter, Avu, was very friendly and gave us good advice. The restrooms were very clean. There was plenty of soap and paper towels.

We spent three nights in Plettenberg Bay as tourists and ended up eating at Barringtons twice — simply because it was that good! On our first evening, we had the beef and chicken burgers, both absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked. We were so impressed that we came back two nights later for the Korma beef curry and the salmon, which were both full of flavor and beautifully presented. For dessert, we tried the Crème Brûlée and Tiramisu — both were outstanding and the perfect finish to an amazing meal. The ambience at Barringtons is warm, stylish, and inviting, and the service was excellent on both nights — attentive, friendly, and professional. We highly recommend Barringtons to anyone visiting Plettenberg Bay. A true gem with wonderful food, great atmosphere, and top-notch service!

I had the pleasure of having a craft beer tasting, dinner and breakfast here. Could not fault a thing. The food is delicious and fresh, menu is diverse, service is excellent and the setting is stunning. Highly recommend.

This is an absolutely gorgeous restaurant. The atmosphere is warm and sophisticated, the cheeseburger was out of this world, and the beer tasting was a great experience.

The kids loved exploring Barrington's especially the beautiful veggie garden. I had a fantastic chickpea and Haloumi quinoa warm salad! The kids were very impressed with the way the icecream cones were presented. Will definitely visit again!

We had such a wonderful lunch at Barringtons. My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary & the waitress brought us two glasses of delicious champagne with berries in. She also brought our kids a marsh mellow each & were so kind to them. Our meal was delicious and the veggie gardens were also so well kept and was nice to walk through. Next time we visit Plett, we will definitely be back again.

We (my wife and I) have thoroughly enjoyed breakfasts, lunches and bar drinks here at Barrington’s Restaurant, Bar and Terraces. When they say you can enjoy long lazy breakfasts and lunches out on one of the many sunny terraces, this is absolutely spot on (although yesterday it rained so we had breakfast inside and still enjoyed a lazy breakfast and the vibe!). The food, service and the experience is not to be missed. With so many tables there’s no hurry, indeed it was very busy but we were not rushed at all. We came here last year for the first time. It’s very impressive. Walking through the kitchen gardens is lovely, so well set out and manicured. The restaurant and terraces are very clean and well thought out. The food is excellent . The bar and the beer they brew is also fabulous. I think this is an experience not to be missed, after a few visits I can confidently say we have not been disappointed, indeed we really look forward to coming here. I hope you enjoy it too!

What a great golf course. The pro shop is well stocked, the course is in excellent condition, and the halfway house food selection is pretty decent. One gripe from me, being a handicapped member at Metropolitan in Cape Town, I found the green fees pretty expensive! Even so, we will be back.

A relaxed vibe, stunning scenery and an awesome course, make this Golf Club a fantastic place to spend a few hours. The Verandah Restuarant at the clubhouse provides an awesome menu at a reasonable price.

Very nice estate, well kempt and with amazing facilities. They have a two tennis courts here too. There is also a good restaurant, The Verandah, with amazing views at the Clubhouse. The views from the accommodation units are great. This is a secure estate set on the fringes of Plettenberg Bay. Easily accessible on the N2. The security details are professional and friendly.

Exceptionally beautiful golf course. The greens are amazing!!! The fairways immaculate and the staff so friendly & helpful. The Marshall even drove off to get us some water/drinks mid round!

I enjoy playing this course. It is in immaculate condition. The greens are consistently quick and a bit tricky to read. The fairways are well manicured. Some tough and challenging holes and some fairly encouraging ones. The course is well balanced. If you can't stay on the Fairway, your ball is lost in the fynbos on most holes. You also get to meet many friendly and interesting people, locals and international visitors. Also ran into the wonderful gentleman, the Black Knight himself - Gary Player - who designed the golf course! I recommend it.

I'm not a golfer, but enjoy to accompany my husband. Beautiful course, beautiful scenery. Plenty bird life. Fantastic carrot cake at halfway house. The ladies cloakroom is an oasis

Very quiet in a busy town. Excellent calamari and chips. In fact one of the best. Felt rushed by staff but service attentive. Tom yum soup fabulous. What annoyed us was being charged full price for ‘kids’ calamari and chips (R180 each). We then complained and were charged R118. There was no kids menu and price was not flagged. Manager was not interested. Kids meals usually around R60-R80. No WiFi that kids could use which is not a must at all but is a benefit for parents who want children to be quiet/settled for other patrons. Amazing view. This place could be a goldmine if more flexible.

Good food, cocktails, company, venue. Everyone in the group had a fabulous meal. Steak, curry, schnitzel, salmon pasta. Perfection. Good value too!

The food was good! Except for the tick (creepy crawly fried insect) in the chips. Not being allowed to pay corkage for a really good bottle of wine (despite speaking to the rude owner) disappointing - bought two overpriced bottles of wine off the menu! Service was good! Your restaurant is quiet in a bustling town…. Because of your attitude!

Enjoyable meal, good service, nice setting

Immediately fell in love with this place when I saw an extra menu for ENTIRELY PRAWN dishes. This was incredible to me as a prawn lover. I went for the 12 grilled prawns and my other half had hake and calamari, we added on seasonal veggies too. Everything was wonderful, our waiter was so attentive and professional and the food was delicious. I had garlic butter but the prawns were great on their own too. Honestly if I can convince my other half I will go again this week!

Michael was an amazing waiter! He gave such great advice on what to eat and I was not disappointed. He truly made it a lovely experience. To management: The Boere Slakke needs 2 slices of toast minimum. Highly recommend the Boere Slakke! So delicious.

Best dog friendly beach in the area. 🐶 Stunning evenings can be spent while savouring the best beach experience. Relatively clean ablutions and fresh water showers to rinse off after a swim.

Nice beach. I'd just have to say, make sure to get you bearings where you come down from the car parking. Once you're on the beach it's difficult to tell one set of steps from another and where they lead to.

A beach off season has an exceptional appeal ! A warm sunny mid winter July day and we walked for miles - we loved the dog stick sign and that the locals were warm and kind - it surprised us to see just how many beach walkers there were at this time - perhaps Plett is more of an all year round destination after all ! Do go any season of the year - you won’t regret it 🇿🇦

Nice beach, beautiful waves and great placement. Only thing is that it is pet friendly, and not all dog owners keep their dogs on leash.

Recommended by our Backpacker host. We went with a group of 8 people to have dinner. During dinner, open mic evening was happening. The Mexican food was so delicous. Took the Enchiladas and I can definitely recommend them!

Cosy and beautiful restaurant with good and professional service! The Indonesian curry was a little spicy and delicious. Also the whole atmosphere with all the surfboards and the live music really improved our impression!

Cute little restaurant with great food, great service & great owner! All dishes we’ve had (dumplings, curry with tofu & poke bowl) were delicious. We stumbled upon this spot while visiting Plett, and so glad we did! It was so cozy, the service was welcoming and professional, and the food was incredible. Super fresh, balanced flavours, and reasonably priced. I had an Itame bowl (red curry) - it was one of the best meals I’ve had in a restaurant. My boyfriend had a poke bowl and said it was delicious. Thank you! (My dish was also gluten free)

Amazing experience! What really stands out is the atmosphere. Unique decorative touches makes you feel at home and the friendly owner is there to ensure you get the best service and quality food. 4.5* Had a fantastic meal here with a family member. Authentic food, lovingly prepared, and served with a certain, inimitable style by the owner. It doesn’t fee like Plett and is all the better for it. Rough and ready but definitely worth a visit. Wine by the glass is generously poured. Lost Half a star for a below-par dessert. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Quite a small restaurant but man it punches hard and well above it's weight .. Small and cozy inside , we came during loadshedding so it was a bit dark but they were still operational during those times as they have gas cookers. The owner and staff are very friendly and make you feel special. The food is divine and the flavours out of this world 🌎 We had dim sum @cheifs Asian ribs @ itame bowl which was my fav it was hot 🔥 but divine I would come back , thank you for a wonderful meal .

Original, fresh and tasty Asian food! The location is small and very cozy with a cute outside courtyard. Lots of interesting soft drinks available and the prices are reasonable. We had 3 meals and 2 drinks for 340 ZAR (the bottle with water was free). Definitely recommend!

One of the nicest and most authentic markets I've been to. You can easily spend a few hours here on a market day. Outside of that it's still a great place to have a coffee of visit the Boplaas and other little shops.

Stunning place along the garden route with lush gardens, the MUNGO mill and shop, a restaurant and food hub, and an amazing playground for children of all ages. Definitely worth a visit.

Cute shops and a lot to do. The Old Mill factory (Mungo) welcomes visitors to have a look around and experience the inside of the Mill. There's a food hub, little shops around and a nursery for the green thumbs. Additionally, there's a Chocolatier shop that has a chocolate fountain. My husband and I had a chocolate shot (a chocolate shot cup with chocolate from the fountain). The lady said that the record for the most chocolate shots is 8 shots!! Tempted, but just 1 was enough for us. Lastly, there's a scratch patch! On Wednesdays, they have a market as well. Give it a go.

Since my last visit a year ago, there really seems to have been a renewed investment in upgrading, tidying up, and modernizing this venue. The new painted buildings, newly sown lawns and new paved areas, nice kiddies play area, new Potter behind and above nursery and gardens in good health all lead to a less run down hippy hang out experience that other than the restaurant had us and our friends avoiding it in the past. The selection of stores and offerings are now really first class.

Awesome place! My dog and I spent a few hours wondering around the gardens which have some beautiful and unique flowers. We enjoyed some amazing stores which are more for tourists and perhaps the more effluent locals, but unique crafts and gift options. The restaurant serves fresh squeezed juice and freshly baked breads. There is even tahini and Halva spread available. Excellent place to enjoy some time with family, kids, pets or as a solo experience.

Nice little stop over for cofee and lunch should you choose. Did not eat but the menu seemed nice. Lots of other little shops to visit. There is dogs allowed if you have a dog that you want to bring. The toilets is clean but small. Nice stop

What a gem! Several independent designer shops and stalls all on one location. So much to see. Soap, art, pottery, weavery, designer goods as well as a restaurant that also offers genuine vegan options. Worth while to stop over and just walk through the shops. Also has a large outdoor play area for kiddies and lots of parking.

Great breakfast place. Well priced. Super outdoor seating area. Child-friendly. Service friendly, but when they’re busy (as they always seem to be) tends to be a little slow. Good coffee. Great juices. Love the chickens!

Great place for the kids. Sadly the food wasn’t the same standard as we use to but still eatable but nothing special anymore. Fish and chips is much better at their other branch at the angling club and bigger portions/ more crispy and chicken wrap was cheap chicken crumb fillets with mostly cabbage and very dry and the Butter chicken tasted like a tomato chicken no flavour sadly.

Always pleasant, consistently good and reasonably priced food. Lovely place in a "farm stall along the road" type setting with gorgeous views of the mountain above the Piesang river. The Soetpatat farm's flower & veggie gardens form part of the view (flowers, etc can be hand picked during the week - there is a gardener on duty). Sign says "kom pluk geluk"! How delightful!

Our new favourite eatery in Plett. The menu is original and diverse so it's exciting to explore the dishes. The prices are very reasonable. Service is efficient and the staff friendly. There are various seating options from outside garden benches to inside coffee tables. The decor is rustic farm style which complements its location. There are nice spaces onbthe lawns for kids to play and explore with a few farm animals to excite. The Cafe might be a bit exposed in inclement weather, yet to see for myself. Lovely home industry shops surround the Cafe.

Roadside Cafe is one of my favorite places. 😍 The food and atmosphere are fantastic and the staff are great too. The animals roaming around are also a treat.

Had a birthday dinner at The Palms. The stuff was amazing and Sive took great care of us. I had chicken dunked wings and they were soooo good. My friend had their smash burger and she’s still talking about it. Already planning on going back, everything was superb

This was the best meal we had in Plettenberg Bay. Superb food, excellent service and a lovely fireplace. The only downside is the fact that renovations are ongoing outside. Not only was the food delicious but it turned out to be excellent value for money as well And the special ice cream was to die for.

We had a nice evening at The Palms Plett! The food was good, the service friendly and attentive, and the outdoor seating offered a truly stunning view of the mountains. A nice spot to relax and enjoy food in a beautiful setting!

Disappointing meal, promised more than it delivered… husband had chickpea curry, it was very dry and the chocolate and pear dessert was dry too ( don’t know where the caramel sauce was!). On the plus side the cocktails were great and Sevi our server was really good, full of enthusiasm and a great server. The atmosphere was great as well, just a shame the food let the whole experience down.

We had breakfast at Nice Neighbour Café and loved it. The food was good and the atmosphere truly special. We sat in a beautiful garden surrounded by vibrant flowers and the sound of birdsong, which made the experience even more relaxing and enjoyable. A wonderful spot to start the day!

A wonderful Café! it’s really nice to sit outside in the garden. The food is also amazing, I had the halloumi sandwich and a brownie cheesecake. I can really recommend it! If you are looking for a nice breakfast stop on you way on the garden route, you should definitely make a stop here. The service is also very nice.

Staff super friendly and helpful, our waiter Sonette was so fast with our order it arrived at the same time as our coffee. Had a super delicious breakfast with the best coffee I’ve had in a long time. Down to earth place and highly recommend!!!

A beautiful setting just outside Plettenberg Bay, the please has great quality food and bakery. We here for the second time over our holiday. Also outside there is a kids play area, and some interesting shops...

The chicken burger was out of this world — so fresh and full of flavour. The staff are super friendly and welcoming, and the playground looks like something straight out of a storybook. Such a lovely spot for families — cannot recommend it enough! 🌿🍔☕️

Lovely spot to sit and relax, watch the ocean, smell the fresh air and unwind. Even on an overcast day, the view is exceptional.

Gorgeous view point. You can see whales, dolphins, and sharks here. It is very nice place to relax and enjoy this fantastic view. It has a lot of car parking and has plenty of chairs to set. Do not forget to bring you camera with long zoom. It is a free view point and open 24 hours, in addition, it is very close Plattenburg city center. Visiting this veiw point is highly recommended if you are visiting the Garden Route area.

Our first stop when arriving in Plettenberg bay. Gives you a stunning vantage point of the bay. The kids loved climbing on the whale tale seat. A great place to spend about 30 minutes or so enjoying the view.

Plett Beach is pure bliss! 🌊 It was so relaxing to just sit back and soak in the atmosphere. Even though it wasn’t peak season, the beach still had a wonderful energy with a fair number of people enjoying the sun and sea. What stood out was how safe and well-managed it felt—lifeguards were on duty, which gave us peace of mind. We were lucky enough to watch seals frolicking in the waves, and the seagulls made for the perfect photo moments (we even fed them and got the most beautiful shots 📸). This beach has everything—natural beauty, a lively yet laid-back vibe, and those little unexpected moments that make it unforgettable. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and can’t wait to come back.

I loved how clean it is. There are garbage bins everywhere. The place feels safe. It is also good for swimming. The paintings from the vendors are spectacular.

The bay is ringed by Robberg Nature Reserve, a scenic hike that tricks you into thinking you’re athletic while Cape fur seals laugh at your cardio. In short, Plettenberg Bay is where the jet set meets the sea gulls, bucket lists get a tick, and sand finds its way into body parts science still hasn’t named.

Central Beach is a wide open clean beach in Plettenberg Bay. It’s across from Beacon Island and there’s a river that feeds into it, but it looks like an ideal surfer and sunbathing spot (in summer). There are lifeguards on duty and there’s also a full service NSRI station located right on the beach for high speed response times and that makes you feel much safer. Parking is ample and free.

Always a great beach to visit. The bathrooms were clean, the restaurant was fair and the ice-cream shop was fantastic. There are a number of activities available from boat rides to snorkeling. The water was freezing though. 🥶

Great beach to relax and swim . It's calm and clean not too busy . Just good vibes and a nice day out . Facilities are close by like ablutions and a few shops and restaurants . Ocean boat rides depart directly from the beach and launched via tractor , this was really cool to watch .as it operates like a mini sea airport with boats being pushed out to sea and retrieved back from sea by the green tractor .

Always lekker to play a game here. Most beautiful course ever.

Great golf course, some fairways are narrow with a few dangers hidden along the way. Wouldn't recommend for beginners. Course was well maintained, clubhouse was neat and clean with good service. Beautifully green

Great golf course but more expensive than private golf courses in the area to play no Marshall to assist serious slow play -no collect at your car service no water in your cooler like Simola-you tollerated not celebrated at Plett GC......remember its a public course

fi•ka is one of my favorite places at Market Off Main. They have wonderful smoothies, wraps, and a make your own harvest bowl that made it easy to grab a plant-based gluten free meal that I could eat there or take with me. The staff are so friendly and thoughtful. I highly recommend!

The food is amazing! We had a juice, rice paper rolls and the falafel bowl. Everything was so fresh. Loved the dressing on the salad and they are the best rice paper rolls ever! We are already planning on coming back tomorrow 😊

My favorite spot in Plett! Incredible smoothies (love the mango lassie) and juices, kombucha, bowls and wraps! Best way to start a day here
