Brown Cow is a great spot for a delicious chicken burger! My wife and I don't drink or eat red meat so the chicken burger was our primary choice and we were not at all disappointed! The burgers were delicious, reasonably priced, and the fries were hot and crispy. A great option for chicken preferrers! The atmosphere was also quite nice. The background music was not very loud so talking was easy. We were also pleasantly surprised by passing goats through town as we ate. This is a very clean and well kept establishment. The bathrooms/water closet are located in the back, up the stairs, and to the left also when you're inside as a patron.

The service is very attentive but the burgers are just ok. The bun for the burger fell apart about halfway through so they need to do a better job roasting the bun or picking a better bread to make the burger. Overall was good and would absolutely give it another go.

Everything was really good. The hotdog was juicy and flavorful. The nachos had cheese that was melted with it. The burger was also really yummy (although it was a bit too salty for me). Overall I had a yummy time here.

This place was hopping....which is usually a good sign. Seat yourself, server was spunky and fun. I had the Zermatter burger and fries....really, really good. Beef was juicy and toppings fresh and plentuful.

Missed the lunch window as most kitchens closed by 1:45 PM, so we ended up at this pub—and what a happy accident it turned out to be! Their Zamatt Beef Signature Burger absolutely blew me away. The beef patty was perfectly seared on the outside, yet juicy and tender inside. Add crispy bacon, melted cheese, and a generous serving of thick-cut fries, and you’ve got a winner. I also spotted Baileys coffee on the beverage menu and asked if it could be served cold—the staff happily obliged, and it was fantastic. If you're a burger and Baileys kind of person, this spot is a must-visit. You won’t be disappointed.

I had the best experience in Le Gitan Grill. Food was delicious, supreme service that was going above and beyond to make clients happy. I regret I couldn’t go back there next day as I had to leave Zermatt but I will be back next year to try their steak this time, as it looked amazing. Best meal we had in Zermatt and we went to 7 different restaurants. This is definitely worth more stars. The meat is grilled to perfection. I had the chicken and it was sooo delicious and juicy! They give you second servings of potato au gratin. So good.

Great food and great service. Our waiter Antoli gave great wine recommendations and all of their special were top tear. I recommend finishing your dinner with the mango crème brûlée.

The food was delicious, and staff were very accommodating even though we came in only half an hour before their kitchen closed, they were still able to serve us. Definitely would come back (much earlier) if I’m ever in Zermatt again!

During our recent trip to Zermatt, we had the pleasure of dining at Le Gitan eatery, and it was a great experience. The food was absolutely delicious, with each dish crafted to perfection. Service by Gonçalo was excellent; he went above and beyond to ensure we had a great dining experience. The mountain weather was refreshing and pleasant, allowing us to sit outside. As the evening grew late and cooler, Gonçalo thoughtfully provided a blanket to keep us warm, adding a cozy touch to our meal. We also tried a local red wine that was an absolute hit, complementing our dishes perfectly. The main courses were outstanding—each item, from the pasta with lobster tail to the pork, chicken, and fish, was freshly prepared and bursting with flavor. Le Gitan is a little gem in the heart of Zermatt, offering exceptional food and top-notch service. It’s easy to miss as it is so small, but we highly recommend it for a delightful dining experience.

I was there around 10 am Sat, a lady serving customers were rude. She raised her voice when I asked a same question twice because I did not understand her well. All the 3 I bought was very average. I strongly recommend to go to the bakery “Backzeit” there are two locations near by. They are far better in terms of quality & service.

We both thought this was the best place we went to for food/snacks/treats in Zermatt. Lovely atomosphere, really nice staff and the chocolate ganache cake was THE best ganache cake we have ever had. Loads to choose from and a great atomosphere. Only grumble would be that it is a cafe/cake shop with chocolate so the Hot Chocolate should be a bona fide made before it hits the table hot chocolate, not another cup of hot milk with a sachet of powdered instant hot chocolate poured on top of the milk

We tried this location this morning for the famous apple strudel. While it was good, I do feel it was overrated. The bakery, however, is lovely and has other delicious food and treats.

We stopped at this bakery and coffee shop and it was a pleasant experience! It's right in tourist central on the main street of Zermatt. Upstairs is a seating area with a second display of cakes and pastries. Restrooms are on the same level. The staff is friendly and professional. They speak quite well English and are willing to accommodate every single guest. They also take pictures of you if asked.

The food looks exquisite and there are many options, but the staff’s attitude is very poor. In the morning, I went to buy some bread with my dog. I told the saleswoman what I wanted, but she didn’t take the bread for me—instead, she told me that dogs are not allowed here, in a rather dismissive and unfriendly way. There’s another branch of the same bakery in town, and I’ve never had any problems buying bread there with my dog. I’ve also seen other people bring their dogs. It seems that this particular saleswoman was being discriminatory.

Great music for apres ski. Dave Murphy and a few guys were jamming on Tuesday night and the music was fantastic. From Beatles to Fleetwood Mac covers, everyone took the mike and gave a contribution.

The salty flavor of this clam pasta is truly delicious—the sauce is rich and brings out the freshness of the clams perfectly. The saltiness is well balanced, making each bite really appetizing and a great match with the spaghetti!

Great Italian food but service for me was slightly lacking. It takes quite a while to get the servers attention both for ordering and requesting something. But food wise we enjoyed what we ordered, and the atmosphere was nice dining outdoors. A very good option for Italian dining if you are in Zermatt.

I ordered in the restaurant twice. One takeaway to eat in our hotel and ordered a seafood pasta with a pizza. When arrived in hotel upon checking the pasta given was not seafood it was a vegetarian pasta which is far cheaper from what i paid and originally ordered seafood. Immediately rang the restaurant and got told to come back tomorrow and will be given the correct pasta for free and apologised for inconvenience as the kitchen was already closed if we come back same night. Think they gave me someone elses pasta as when he originally gave the food it was missing the pizza and had to remind i ordered the pasta with pizza as takeaway. Next day we went back to eat in the restaurant advised of the error from the night before, I ordered my seafood pasta which was amazing and another pizza. Bill came out and no compensation provided for the wrong order provided from the night before. Was asked to pay for the pasta and the pizza and the offer over the phone the night prior for their error was not honored. I dont like arguing bills specially in a restaurant hence just paid but left the restaurant feeling like we got scammed. If we knew they werent going to honour their word we wouldnt have bothered going back. After paying the bill they gave us a small plate of tiramisu 😅. The seafood pasta was amazing, just the service and their mix up is what ruined it as after a long day of hike i was looking forward to it just to be given a vegetarian pasta which was not filling for me.

So good we came back the next night! The owner never stopped moving, he was right out there with everyone else working hard. The food was great and the pizza is a good deal for Zermatt.

As someone with many Italian friends and a love for Italian cuisine, I had high expectations of Zermatt italian taste— but the experience was quite disappointing. I ordered a dish listed as tortellini, but what I received looked and tasted more like oversized ravioli or mezzelune. The pasta was undercooked, and the sauce was bland — it tasted more like a supermarket cream base than something freshly prepared. The lasagna was also dry on top and unevenly reheated, with little flavor, as if it had been sitting around. The bread basket had burnt pieces and others that were doughy and undercooked. We did mention the issue with the raw pasta to the staff, and they were kind enough to offer us a tiramisu and a coffee on the house, which we appreciated. Still, overall the food did not meet the standard you’d expect from an Italian restaurant. If I had been here with my Italian friends, I know they would have found it unacceptable. I didn’t complain further since I was with my wife, but I wanted to leave this review to help others make an informed choice.

We absolutely loved the spicy salami pizza! Everything was spot-on—from the perfectly crisp crust to the flavorful sauce, gooey cheese, and delicious salami. The staff kindly split the pizza between two plates since we were sharing, which was a thoughtful touch. Enjoying it out on the patio in September made the experience even better—the perfect mix of great food and perfect weather.

On our first day visiting Zermatt our hotel reception recommended Molino Restaurant. This restaurant was packed when we arrived but they still managed to shuffle some tables to accommodate us. We loved the food so much we came back the next day for lunch. On day one we had tagliatelle with salmon and were served by Luigi and on day two we had carne and we were served by Helena.

This was amazing, the meat was perfect!!! Everything was delicious!! They cook the meat and the dessert infront of you as well, like a little show! Great experience and service!

I loved this place. Their respectful but friendly service was amazing. Andre was in charge of my table and his service was spectacular and he actually cooked in front of me the tasty beef stroganoff which I was eager to have it! They explained and showed me what kind of ingredients that they are going to use beforehand, let me try the sauce of stroganoff if it is spicy for me or not. Owner was also friendly and regularly checked the meal was ok or if I enjoy it. Thanks a lot for your hospitality and tasty food, highly recommend it.

What a great resturant. Casual elegance! We shared the beef filets and rack of lamb. Delicious! Daniele was a very attentive waiter, with just the right number of checks as we enjoyed our meal. Bring a big appetite! We highly recommend Spycher!

Our experience here has been wonderful, we were served incredible local wine, a flambé venisson dear rack, and a delicious carpaccio. The chocolate fondue is delicious.

Amazing dinner for our last night in Zermat. Highly recommend. A little more upscale than most of the local restaurants but it’s worth the extra.

First time at Spycher last Monday. Great experience overall. We did appreciate the warm welcome from the owner upon our arrival. Then, dinner was such a show! Chateaubriand was outstanding and perfectly cooked. Certainly one of the best meat I've ever tasted and the homemade sauces complemented the dish perfectly. Last but not least, the crêpe suzette for dessert was just out of this world. Only disappointment: It was my first time there despite that I'm going to Zermatt every year since quite some time. I will come back every time now! Thanks again for this amazing experience!

During my stay in Zermatt, I ended up visiting GoldenIndia twice — that’s how good it was! The food is absolutely amazing — rich in flavor, great quality, and so authentic that it’s hard to find Indian food this good even back home in Canada. Every dish we tried was full of taste and perfectly spiced. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Highly recommended for anyone craving real Indian food in the Swiss Alps!

Believe me when I say this is THE BEST Indian restaurant in Switzerland. We saw it outside the zermatt station and a friend had recommended it. The food was amazing! The taste is authentic and you can feel that chefs have put effort. We got paneer pakora, chai, palak paneer, naans and Gulab jamun. All were outstanding. It is expensive but everything in general is expensive in Switzerland. This one is worth the money. You’re missing out if you visit zermatt and don’t go here as an Indian. 10/10 recommend.

When we ordered, we learned that they ONLY serve all chicken dishes with chicken legs. I asked about the description of chicken tikka because it stated boneless. They are using legs & just cutting off the chicken. We’ve never had tikka quite so greasy and had to eat around so much fat. Of course, they are charging the same high prices as other Swiss restaurants that use white breast meat. In fact, this is the first Indian restaurant that does this. We’ve been in Germany/Switzerland for about 30 days, eating at several places. I was pleasantly surprised all serve chicken curry with breast meat. I ordered it here and with the legs, very greasy. Again, same high prices as others using white meat. The other thing we’ve never seen is serving chicken tikka on a plate vs the usual hot skillet. It actually had zero flavor. The outer sauce had some flavor but the chicken itself tasted more like boiled chicken. I kind of thought this wouldn’t be the best meal when the whole order came out within 6-7 mins. The whole experience was very disappointing. The total was $75chf for: chicken tikka, chicken curry, 1 naan. Will not be back. Not sure how so many reviews can honestly say this is the best Indian food they’ve eaten. Not true at all. The best in Europe is in Strasbourg, France. Tikka n’ Way. Chef worked at a 3 Michelin star restaurant in New Delhi. We ordered the exact same dishes and it took 45 mins to prepare. That should give everyone a clue. Update 9/27: Interesting after our review lowered the overall rating for the restaurant, so many reviews written by Indians have 5 stars; note none posted any pics of them in the restaurant with their food. Mostly just gave ratings. Lesson learned for us not to fall for fake reviews when there are so many.

Food was very delicious! Servers were nice! I ordered chicken curry with balsamic rice. I don't eat spicy but the curry is very little spicy that I would recommend people not having spicy food can give it a shoot. Garlic naan (bread) was amazing and went perfectly with the sauce.

Really good for a yummy, filling meal after walking on the hiking trails. Pricey but that's to be expected in the area and Id say you get more for your money here. Quality of food lines up with what you would get at some nice curry houses in London. The manager was very nice and even gave us some extra rice when he saw we were running out :) also had some nice conversations after!

Expensive, but that's to be expected. I ordered the garlic fish and it wasn't good. Came too salty, and there was not enough rice to balance that out. Dried ginger was used, which had weak flavour and leathery texture. Onions also were not peeled properly as many pieces were inedible. Fish itself was alright. And the fish came in a bowl that did not sit properly on its stand, which made eating more difficult. I have no idea what these other reviewers are talking about. Best Indian restaurant in Switzerland?? I hope they got a good free meal for writing that one up.

What a fantastic find. Coming from Birmingham I wasn't expecting it to be so good. The staff were amazing. There was a slight issue with my starter but they just replaced it within minutes Fish pakora for starter and prawn masala with garlic nann bread. It comes with rice. They didn't hold back with the prawns either. If you want a meal to fill you up go try them. You will not be disappointed. Booking is highly recommend.

As a couple we went here for a 4-course Christmas Eve dinner where we had to reserve in advance. Upon arrival we were friendly greeted and they offer to put our jackets away. We were presented with the menu and upon ordering the aperitif this was removed from the table with a remark that they will explain every dish served. First dish they didn’t explain what the dish consisted off and they served it before confirming which wine bottle we would like to pair with the dishes. In the menu it said it will have truffle, which in the end was shredded to bits instead of shaved and hence lost all of its flavor. Second dish we asked them to explain and the waiter didn’t know what they were serving and came back with the menu instead of an explanation. Third dish which was supposed to be a sirloin was cold, full of muscle and because of that was chewy. We were offered another slice but we were not comfortable and didn’t like it at all. Dessert was 2 pieces of to our taste stale bread and Chantilly cream which was quite underwhelming. All in all we felt like it was overpriced, underwhelming and tasteless which is totally not a representation of a Christmas menu. What completely threw us off was that after payment and upon leaving we were directed to closet full of jackets where we had to look and search for our jackets ourself, which for us is unacceptable, if you offer to take our jackets you should also know where you stored them and return them as is, this is to our experience and opinion the opposite of customer service and experience and to some extend reflects poorly not only on the restaurant but also on the affiliated hotel Rex which stands for quality and customer service. We will not go back and deeply regret having Christmas dinner here.

Steaks were average and nothing special about the add ons. Sauces were more than average and I think there are better places in town for hormone free meat. This is the first place in Switzerland where they start with charging you for tap water and which was definitely didn’t fit in to trust them for anything else. Too pricey for this kind of food. Definitely a waste of my evening

Tasty food overall, but a bit overpriced for what you get I recently visited this restaurant and overall, the experience was good — not amazing, but solid. We tried 8 different dishes. About 6 of them were genuinely tasty, well-prepared, and nicely presented. The other 2 were just okay — not bad, but not memorable either. A bit hit-or-miss depending on what you order. The atmosphere was pleasant and the service was attentive. However, I did find the prices a bit high considering the overall quality. While some dishes were worth it, others didn’t quite justify the cost. 📌 In short: a nice place to enjoy a good meal if you choose your dishes wisely — but don’t expect every plate to blow you away. I might come back, but with more measured expectations.

The atmosphere was nice, and watching the fresh fire grilling the steak right next to our table was quite entertaining. However, the food was underwhelming considering the price we paid. The starters and bread were very good, and the homemade duck fat butter was delicious. The steak and chicken, however, were just average. The duck, in particular, was disappointingly bland and overly salty. The waiter gave off a slightly arrogant vibe—still polite, but not exactly pleasant or comfortable. The four of us spent 355 CHF, with only two large bottles of water and a single cocktail—which probably says enough about how salty the food was.

The service here was incredible. Super funny team, really enjoyed our time. And the flavors were incredible. I recommend the beef tongue and the tenderloin, but in the two times we visited, we tried different things and nothing was a miss.

Great service. Fun and interactive staff . Stopped in after a long day of mountain biking and sat on the main level bar at the open window. We had a beer, a wine and some natchos with three dips. As a Canadian - the natchos reminded me of Doritos and the dips were guacamole, sour cream and chive dip, and a tomatoe salsa. It was quick service in a fun environment. I would go back!!

Really enjoyed our meal! The staff were fast, friendly and efficient. I had the lamb, which was lovely - as was the deconstructed lemon pie for afters. Great location, and the interior was decorated like a sexy pirate ship.

During lockdown the restaurant is working for take-away only and proposes few sets of sushi. Due to a high demand sometimes you need to wait up to an hour, but it totally worth it! Sushi are delicious!

Food was quick and amazing. As we have some small eaters within the group, the restaurant allow us to share the huge portions which I appreciate. This was the BEST authentic Italian food we had in Zermatt. Dinner reservations are required but lunch time it’s usually empty so we came for lunch. Noodles are homemade! I had the cavatelli with pork which was absolutely delicious and filling. I was incredibly full after the meal. Service was super friendly and they kept coming by to check on us. We sat outside at a table in an alleyway which is their only outdoor seating. No view at all but I can say for sure the food was worth every penny spent.

I’ve been craving pizza in Switzerland and having been to Italy before (and a big pizza aficionado), I was afraid to be disappointed, but I was not. Far from it! This is a charming little family-owned restaurant in the heart of Zermatt that offers authentic Italian food. We walked in to this restaurant without a reservation, but luckily found seats at the bar and let me tell you - those are the best seats in the house! The owners and the staff at the bar made us feel so welcome and treated us if we were a part of the family! I started and ended with classic dishes - tomato soup to tiramisu, and every dish was so flavorful and delicious! I felt like I was enjoying some nice home-cooked meal, which is rare to find! At the end when we possibly couldn't have another bite, we were offered dessert liquors as much as we liked, which was a perfect way to end the meal. Do not miss this restaurant if you are in town!

The best restaurant in Zermatt. We came here for Christmas dinner and it was absolutely amazing. This meal was the best meal we had in Switzerland and both agree the pasta here is better than in Italy. My partner had the Christmas tasting menu and I ordered the truffle mushroom soup and scampi pasta. The atmosphere is very cozy and welcoming. I felt like we were family eating Christmas dinner in Giuseppe's house. He came to our table many times to ask if we liked our food and if we needed anything. The service was excellent and at the end of the meal we got complimentary limoncello and my partner had tiramisu which was again at the top of the "best ever" list. All of the ingredients were fresh and flavorful. I wish we had come here sooner during our stay because we would've eaten here at least twice. Sadly, Christmas was our last night in Zermatt but this dinner was the perfect ending and we will most certainly dining here again the next time we are in Zermatt.

This place hosted the perfect dinner I could have imagined in Zermatt. The food was impeccable and the service was beyond extraordinary. We were offered a couple of dessert liquors to have until the bottle ran out, and I think I make Chicago proud.

We felt as if we were in Giuseppes house! He welcomed us with an exuberant greeting, you truly have to witness to believe. He will make you feel special, whether you like it or not! The food was delicious, I ordered the scallopine, and my wife ordered the gnocchi. To die for. The Panna cotta surprised us it was so tasty, and the limoncello shots were the icing on the cake!

One of the best meals and experiences we've had. Greeted with smiles and Italian singing, adorned with complimentary snacks and drinks, served some of the best Italian food we've had while soaking in the ambience of feeling like you're at a friend's house for dinner. We ordered steam sea bass in soy sauce and spicy veal liver. The taste was amazing and service was excellent. Moreover, they provide watermalon after meal as a compliment. If you are looking for the authentic Chinese food, we highly recommend this restaurant.

Wonderful culinary experience. We love Chinese and this was a perfect dinner to end our holidays! The food was delicious and authentic - we chose the venison which was extremely soft, and the pork belly was delicious too! After a very long day of walking and exploring, this place's food definitely hits the spot. I am not Chinese but we do enjoy Chinese food once in a while, and I can say that their dishes are one of the really good ones we have tasted. Of course it will be expensive.. but so is everything else in Zermatt. Serving portions is also enough.. and this is coming from 2 very hungry Filipinos who walked the entire day. 😅 Food in photo has already been touched and consumed, so do not rely on the serving size and presentation based on this photo. Service was friendly and efficient. Highly recommended!

What. Did. I. Just. EAT?!?! 🤩😍🤩😍 It was the slow cooked short rib. My face changed as soon as I put the first bite in my mouth. Absolute mental and spiritual journey into a chocolate drenched, slowly cooked tower of short ribs with delicate fatty bits and purple potatoes. I didn’t want it to end. Gorgeous. Upstairs and downstairs have unique signatures so check both! Malika, the awesome waitperson, gave detailed accounts of each dish so it was easy to choose. I honestly wanted another one right after I finished scraping the last bits of sauce off the plate. Absolutely royal. And GREAT VIBE.

Being from San Francisco, it was pretty interesting to find extraordinary tacos...in Zermatt! We shared many dishes, each of which were original and very tasty. The authenticity of each dish was amazingly good for the wide range of "south American" food.

My husband and I absolutely love BBQ ☺️☺️ and the dry-aged beef from Julio is just out of this world. Truly fantastic and unbelievably delicious! One of the best restaurants in Zermatt and the entire region. One of our two favourite restaurants. We return here each year and multiple times during our visits. High quality food and a great service combined with a beautiful atmosphere. The staff members were welcoming and kind. It was nice to see a change in the menu and a complete transformation of the content. The Chefs and cooking staff greeted with a big smile and acknowledged us before we leave from their kitchen area in the middle of the restaurant. Our waiter, Jan, did an excellent job delivering his service and explaining everything while trying to sell us everything he could elegantly which is quite impressive and worth noting. We highly recommend this restaurant.

My friend and i had the most amazing lunch on this hidden terrace! The food was simply (we had almost everything ahaha) the best with tasteful combinations and i was introduced to many new things , also not too spicy since the Chef and team are catering for all preferences so if you cannot handle spicy food like me this is perfect for you.The staff was so kind and and always looked after us and welcoming feedback. Ιn simple words, it’s a hidden gem in Zermatt that everyone must try!

In a bustling but cozy little town called Zermatt, 5-8 minute walk from the train station, you will see Gems of places to see. A triad of them perfectly placed. The Catholic church, Mt. Matterhorn and of course Elsie's Wine and Champagne Bar. We were blessed to have been and seen all three. After you have seen the glorious church and have glanced at Mt.Zermatt...may I suggest letting your palate dance at Elsie's just right across the church. Chef's at Elsie's are artists, shout out to Chef Juan, we devoured his work of art. And shout out especially to our wonderful and knowledgeable server Mr. Alex. Thank you so much for working extra hours for us. We appreciate you😊🙏 May this review being more blessings your way. We had a fabulous meal and lovely wine here on our last night in Zermatt. We were not able to get a table outside so sat inside to wait for a table to be free…we liked it so much that we were happy to stay there! Very charming and great atmosphere. The service was friendly, knowledgeable and professional. We thoroughly enjoyed the oysters, steak tartare and hummus trio with delicious bread. The local wine suggestion also appreciated. A lovely way to end our holiday!

Come for the vibes, stay for the service and the food. We saw the charming outdoor seating on a sunny day, and we’re looking for a late lunch. While the indoor seating was very cozy and inviting we had to take advantage of the sun. The food significantly exceeded expectations. The meat and cheese board had a selection produced from the owners own farm in Valais, including some unusual cold cuts like one made from locally raised water buffalo. The lobster spaghetti was also an unexpected hit: a strong seafood, almost bisque-like, sauce with perfectly cooked pasta, tomatoes, and chunks of lobster meat. Expensive but one of the better lobster pastas I’ve had. The wine list was strong and they even had some non alcoholic options. Service was energetic, friendly, and genuine.

Updated January 2024: we finally came back here for dinner and we were not disappointed by the tartare and escargots. The mains were good, but not as good as the starters. We loved this place so much, that we came twice! Our hotel recommended this as a place to try local wines before dinner as it was just around the corner from the hotel. You enter to a dimly lit bar with low wooden tables and velvet chairs. It's quiet enough to chat, but loud enough to feel lively. Our first night, we only had a few glasses of wine, but our second night we came back for steak tartare and their speciality, escargots. Both were delicious and went well with the recommended wines. Next time, we'll try their restaurant as the bar staff kept raving about how good it was.

High price, low standard — not worth a visit. At its core this is just a basic tavern with inflated prices. The food was rough — mains overcooked and salty, sides limp with no freshness, leaving more burden than enjoyment. The drinks were equally underwhelming: thin pours, loose body, short nose and a coarse finish, nowhere near the price point. Service added to the disappointment — staff felt careless, unprofessional, and lacking respect. Overall, a rough and overpriced experience. Once is enough.

Great spot, design your own delicious pizzas were a hit with kids , pineapple! The mixed salad with homemade dressing was delicious too. Very friendly staff. We got a table walk in at 6:30 but most other tables were reserved, so I suggest booking.

We LOVED North Wall Bar. We ended up going back, we liked it so much! Make your own pizzas were delicious, and brownies are a must. The atmosphere was fun as well.

A disappointing experience. We were initially excited to dine at this Michelin-starred restaurant, but the reality fell far short. While the dishes were creative and carefully presented, the flavors were overwhelmingly strong, drowning out the original ingredients rather than enhancing them. Nearly every dish felt like drinking Tom Yum Soup or Green Curry, making us question the restaurant’s understanding of delicate, refined flavors in fine dining. Worse, our experience was marred by a serious safety issue—a glass flask used to infuse a broth exploded mid-service. While the server apologized, the restaurant itself failed to offer any meaningful response or assurance. The soup spilled onto our clothing, and while we were fortunate to avoid serious harm, the situation could have been far worse with shattered glass. It was a reckless serving method—imaginative perhaps, but unscientific and completely out of touch with reality. Overall, we were baffled as to what earned this restaurant a Michelin star. The chefs seemed to prioritize theatrical presentation over true culinary refinement, and their disregard for both taste balance and safety left us disappointed. Between the overpowering flavors and the dangerous serving methods, this was not just underwhelming—it was unsafe.

While the food was outstanding and so unique! The atmosphere was really cool (different than any restaurant I’ve been to) too but the service was simply not good. The waiter spilled a drink while we sat on the couch, they forgot to bring the food name cards with each course, the waiter’s shirt was untucked (to where you could see their stomach), and they did not refill water for us among other issues. These are basic things I would expect for a 2 star Michelin restaurant.

Close your eyes and embrace yourself, brcause you are goong on a culinary trip with chef Florian Neubauer and his whole team! Every bite is a surprise containing a mix you would not expect! Just relax and enjoy, the trip has already been planned you just habe to accept and take part of the culinary deliciouness! An experience! 10/10

This was my first ever Michelin star restaurant and it did not disappoint! There was not a lot of information on the website, so I didn't really know what to expect. They open at 7:30 at night and run one service each night. There are 4 course, 5 course, and 7 course options and you can do a wine pairing as well. Each option has a pre-course and a course plate. We did the 4 course option which was roughly 140 franc per person and took 2 hours. I don't remember the prices of the 5 and 7 courses but I do know that they take 3 and 4 hours respectively. The service was impeccable and we felt very well cared for. The food was creative, well balanced, and incredible. Everything was so beautiful and delicious. It was truly a culinary experience. If you are a foodie and you can afford it, this is a dinner you will not forget. Special thank you to my mom for taking us here.

The grill restaurant is amazing. Incredible steak selection and options to share. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Upscale but cozy atmosphere. Steak is cut at your table for you and the sauces and sides are all fantastic. Cocktails and dessert too!

We had an incredible dinner at The Grill, where every dish impressed. The entrecôte was tender and flavorful, the steak tartare fresh and perfectly seasoned, and the salmon and shrimp were grilled to perfection. The Tomahawk Pork was amazing as well. Special thanks to our waiter Pierre who was attentive, kind, and made the experience even better. A top-tier meal with top-tier service. We’ll definitely be back.

I’m so happy I was able to dine here. I tried to dine somewhere else and they turned me away due to being busy but I can’t help to think it was because I was a solo traveler. The Grill was my next stop and they took me in with open arms. This might have been the best service I’ve ever had. From the host, to the butcher, to the server, everyone was extremely kind. I had the ribeye and the charra and it was incredible. I loved being able to visit the meat bar and get recommendations about cuts I’m unfamiliar with. I highly reccomend the miso butter and chimmichura as sauces. I’m not staying at the hotel but from the service I received I would immediately come stay here next time no doubt! ❤️

We have had an amazing meal at The Grill, we celebrated our engagement and we decided to go to a high end restaurant which has been something we’ve wanted to do for a while. The staff are so pleasant and accommodating, the food is made to high standards with a gentlemen cutting your steak by your table. We will definitely be back next time we are visiting! 😊

A very sophisticated restaurant with top-notch service. The meat was fantastic! The waiter recommended a wine that paired perfectly with our meal.

Overpriced and steaks were not cooked right. Servers were very friendly, restaurant was nice but the steaks were disappointing. We ordered 2 fillets. The first was accidentally served to the table next to us, and after the other customer cut off a piece, they took it back, re-seared it and served it to me. The second steak was ordered medium and it was served so rare it was still cold in the center. This happened to the table next to us as well. We asked for it to be cooked more and they took it and brought it back in less than 2 minutes, still cold. Not worth the price when there are plenty of better steak options available.

If you would like to throw up before your meal is over, this is the perfect spot. We don’t even know where to start, tonight was extremely concerning. We were having dinner and all of a sudden had to run out before we could finish to throw up the meal on the curb. For a place that prides themself on their meat, this was an alarming experience. Feeling terribly faint and nauseous, we needed to leave to go home, however the manager STILL charged us for the food we threw up and meal we couldn’t finish. We’ve never gotten sick from a restaurant and we certainly have never had to pay for a meal that caused us to throw up outside of the restaurant. WOULD NOT recommend this type of management or dinner spot… very confusing way to take care of guests.

An unusual McDonald’s designed in the style of an Alpine chalet. The atmosphere is pleasant, clean, and neat. There aren’t many seats, so it can be hard to find a free table during peak hours. Prices are higher than in regular McDonald’s locations, but the food is standard — same taste, no surprises. The restroom is free to use, which is a nice touch. If you’re in the mood for fast food in a “rustic” setting, it’s worth a visit — just don’t expect any culinary revelations.

Most expensive McDonald’s in the world apparently but quite worth it. All ingredients were local and beef is grass-fed. They even had a special Swiss cheese burger, which I ordered and really liked. A different feel from McDonald’s elsewhere.

The service is super super good. I never seen such good and professional service in EU. The waiter is super passionate when he introduces every dish, I love the vibe here. Best place we tried in Zermatt. Don’t be fooled by the name, there are antipasti in an old school deli fridge giving the ambience a slightly more causal French bistro vibe. Service was great. The only odd thing was we weren’t really offered a wine list, we had local Chardonnay by the glass recommended by the server which was solid for price and went well with our dishes, although there was a nice looking wine fridge and we might have been convinced to splash out a smidge for something with a bit more interest. The medium meat and cheese plate to start was generous and varied, more than enough for two, and all the cheeses were distinctive and characterful. For mains we got Wiener schnitzel (excellent) and Coq au Riesling (very good, interesting take on the dish, presentation unique). Prices were expected for the area but honestly worth it - we left satiated in both stomach and spirit.

We stopped here on our last night in Zermatt, looking for a later night quiet dinner to wrap up our trip. We did not expect this to be the best dinner we had in our two week vacation. The truffle pasta, and steak frites were both incredible. I will dream about this pasta for the rest of my life. We also had crème brûlée and the hot chocolate, both blew our mind. Ronny was such a fun and engaging server who made us feel valued and right at home. It was an incredible experience.

I am traveling through Europe with train, and have made a two days stop in Zermatt. By accident I passed Marie's Deli this afternoon, walked in and made a reservation. Thank God I did. The service from the Italian waiter who originally comes from Iscia was perfect. The food and wine was the best I have so far on my journey. I started out with a creamy tomato soup. As main disch I had Coq au Riesling, chicken in white wine sauce with sauer kraut and mashed potatoes. An unbelievably delicious dish. Along with my meal I had a couple glasses of local white wine, recommended by the waiter. Marie's Deli is truely a gem, on a side street away from the hustle and bussle and tourist traps on Bahnhofstrasse, the main street.

Ambiance: The deli was closed due to water damage so we sat in the hotel bar. It’s a nice place and it wants to be higher end than it is. It is also very much needs a luggage room because there was luggage strewn about everywhere. Service: There was one server who could best be rated as insufferable that made an excellent wine recommendation. His boss (the manager) and the rest of the service staff were actually quite delightful. They kept our wine glasses full, were very responsive and knew the finest little detail about every product. One even recommended and delivered some spice to bring that extra pop of flavor and it was delightful. Food: The food was very good. The salad with pears and blue cheese with a mustard dressing was one of the best I’ve had anywhere. A great combination of flavors well executed. We also had a Swiss charcuterie board, cheese board and other entrees - all were of good quality and well prepared.

Amazing food! BEST steak I have ever had including all the NYC steakhouses I’ve tried. This is one of the few restaurants open 7 days a week…other restaurants mostly open from wednesday…we just came across this restaurant and we’re so so happy we tried it out. Curry and steak are a MUST! Very excellent service, nice ambient setting, and beautiful plating.

The food here was the best during our 4-days 3 nights stay in Zermatt over the Easter long weekend. It’s not cheap because it’s Zermatt but compared to what is on offer in the central area of Zermatt near the station, it offers fantastic value for money. However I had to take off one star due to the bizarre attitude at the time of the telephone booking. I checked google maps at 18:50 and found out there were tables free to book from 19:00, was about to book online but my husband suggested to call directly. I called and explained we were two adults and one child, and the man on the phone quickly told me there was no capacity anymore. I felt it was strange but we were desperate for dinner so I ended up booking our table on Google, and got an automatic confirmation straight away. We went there and found out the restaurant was mostly empty, all the way from 19:00 to 20:00. Even at 20:00 it was far from being full. They offered us extremely friendly services but I couldn’t help wondering if they realised it was me who called just before, so were trying to make up for the wrong attitude over the phone. There was a cute kids menu and they gave my child a free pack of stickers and puzzles with drawing pencils. We couldn’t understand why they told us the lie that there were no free tables - we suspected it was because we mentioned we had a child. So if you plan to lie straight to people’s faces, perhaps first remember that you have this automatic booking system on Google. The restaurant is located within a gorgeous-looking 4-star hotel. The surrounding areas are beautiful to walk in. I just hope they will correct their attitude towards children (perhaps?) and be truly 4-star hotel and restaurant inside and out.

Atmosphere is great in here, good choice of music, bartenders are very friendly and chatty. There is a minimum of 10 francs before card can be used - this is just an excuse to buy two drinks in my opinion! Area is quite central to the rest of the town, Saturdays are busy.

A place to hang out after a long ski session on the Alps of tobleron. Have a beer hang out with a view surrounded by valley's. Best located in the center of the city. And the bartender is quiet a chilled out person.

It's a small bar with big ambitions! Nice atmosphere. chr4.75 for a 330ml beer. Outside, on the terrace, is busy for après ski. The must stops outside exactly at 19:00 due to local laws.

This review regards the daytime activity of the bar, or "after ski".The "after ski" bars in zermatt are super cringey or boring, but this one is slightly better. The vibe is friendly and nice, bar crew was also nice... But! The bar is a bit slow, the glühwein was pretty boring and the outside of the bar dies down early

The location is fantastic, but their coffees tasted like a McDonald’s coffee… I mean don’t be fooled by their nice decor. I do not recommend them.

The Monte Rosa is the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in. And the Edward’s Bar and restaurant is equally amazing. The service is incredible, the staff are so friendly and just also incredible. The food was delicious. Thank you Monte Rosa for having us and for Edward’s bar for our delicious dinner and fabulous cocktails. We will be back!

Fun place to meet new people of just sit with friends for a drink and snack. Great music, comfortable places to sit at the bar or at some soft cushioned alcoves. Only downside, only two choices on the bar menu for late snacks.

The restaurant is decorated impeccably and has a very cozy yet refined vibe to it. Unfortunately that was the best part of my experience. The service was a bit lacking. The food I ordered (Goulash soup) was decent, but nothing to write-home about. The thing I was most disappointed about, however, was the hot chocolate. There were two different varieties to it - the first one I ordered (the one that was recommended to me) was little more hot milk with a hint of chocolate to it, and no sweetness. I explained that this was not what I was expecting, and the server was kind enough to get me the second variety of hot chocolate. Unfortunately, what I did not realize... was that the other hot chocolate was simply hot milk with a packet of instant hot chocolate mix... they didn't even bother mixing it for me. It actually tasted alright, but it was still a disappointment. Overall, I did not have the best experience. However, the vibe was so nice and cozy that I would be willing to try it again, albeit, without ordering the hot chocolate.

The food was delicious! Our server was a little slow on getting us drinks but otherwise service was great. Try the croquettes and the zucchini soup. The hot dog was great, too!

We enjoyed a delicious breakfast. There were 3 of us, we enjoyed the scrambled egg breakfast, an omelet and the power breakfast (avocado toast, egg, ginger shot, juice and coffee!) Everything was fresh and well cooked.

A well executed meal. Great staff. The chef for dinner is a professional who cooks everything very well and keeps a clean kitchen. My risotto had the risotto and I had the ribeye. Both were cooked perfectly. We had the apple strudel for dessert and that was very good. The drinks from the bar were also well put together.

A very fun apres-ski destination for Zermatt. Be warned that it is halfway down the piste and on an icy evening near the last run conditions can be quite treacherous to navigate down here on your skis - so make sure you know what you're doing! There is also one last downhill section after you leave, let that guide how many you drink! Great spot, popping with music and good energy. Drink variety is good and prices are fair.

What a great place on the piste under Matterhorn Express cable car...great apres ski just like in AT. Dancing on the tables, a terrific DJ playing all the hits, in German and English...and then a ski down in the dark...what's not to like. If you like a good apres ski knees up, then this is the place.

This place is a must see if you want to party in Zermatt. It’s rowdy, it’s crowded, but it’s fun! If you ski in, you have to ski out… so don’t get too drunk lol!

Manud in Zermatt is a great find, especially for those with dietary preferences, as vegetarian, lactose-free, and gluten-free options are very clearly indicated on the menu. We tried their vegetarian Tom Kha Curry with tofu and a side of rice, along with the vegetarian Chinese Noodles. Both were flavorful, though we found them a little on the salty side. The staff were attentive and friendly, let us pick our own table, and our food arrived quickly. The atmosphere seems very relaxed, with people enjoying iced tea and hanging out - it definitely has a great vibe for unwinding. Highly recommended if you're seeking good vegetarian or vegan food in Zermatt.

Great spot for Fusion Asian food! I especially love the teriyaki poke bowl. The restaurant offers the best view and has such a warm, inviting atmosphere.

It was a lovely change of pace to have some Asian fusion food instead of the usual Swiss or Italian fare, and Manud did not disappoint! The Tom Kha soup was very good, and all of the coffee and matcha drinks were quite good as well. Would recommend for those seeking something different in Zermatt.

Recommended restaurant to dine in. Fantastic Food reasonably priced. If Japanese Rice bowl is ordered, asked for sauce aside and add in accordance to your taste. Rice was soaking wet with sauce when served to me and I cannot take the overwhelming taste. Restaurant had very kindly remade a bowl with sauce aside and it worked well for me. Unexpected gem! We came here because another restaurant we wanted to try was closed and we stumbled across this place. The bahn mi was amazing! The focaccia wasn’t as good, given that it was similarly priced, but I still enjoyed it!

Service was quite disappointing. When we asked the staff what’s included in the kids’ rice bowl, she simply said “everything on the menu” without making any effort to explain. As parents, we care about what our child eats and expected a clearer answer. The food was also below average , the so-called rice bowl was basically just salad with rice, not what we expected at all. Strongly not recommended.

It was very busy, but we did not have to wait to be seated. The service was excellent and friendly. Our server spoke 4-5 different languages which made watching her interact with everyone fascinating. The food was pretty good. I had my 1st cheeseburger in nearly 3 weeks.

Really big bar in Zermatt, close to the station, but a bit off the beaten track. Great if you want a comfortable seat, sport on TV and a burger menu. It's inside the Alpen resort also, so you don't need to worry about getting home if you've booked there, they've a side door to the hotel. Infact, you could watch sport, drink beer, eat food and then go to the hot tub without leaving the building 😁

Great bar, good story as to why there are the hexen on the interior and logo. Espresso martinis, pornstar martinis etc, beers. Small intimate setting right in the heart of town. Around 4 minute walk from the bahnhof so very close to everything. Drinks were very fresh and I enjoyed my time here a lot. Swiss hospitality is much appreciated and when we come back to Ski and Snowboard we’ll stop in.

Stumbled across this bar while searching for dinner in Zermatt. My wife liked the witch theming. Sat at the bar with a couple other tourists. No food here but thought we would stay for a drink before heading out to eat. Got chatting with the bartender Hans. He was a delight to talk to. So many stories about the town and the locals. We asked him where to eat and he sent us to Casa Mia. So, after too many drinks we went to dinner. After dinner we went back. The vibe had changed. No longer tourist. This is where the locals hang out. We were warmly invited in and sat and drank with some really great people. Thinking they hated tourist we were surprised how welcoming and thankful they were because we were there spending our money in their town. For a bar that we just happened to come across, this was a great unexpected experience. Thanks Hans for making our trip that more special.

This is one of the most magical viewpoints in Zermatt and should be on everyone’s must do list when visiting. The food is delicious but the portions are tiny and the dessert was disappointing. The service was very good.

We had lunch and drinks on the terrace here. The people are super friendly and attentive, and the views are incredible. We had perfect weather the day we visited and the Matterhorn was not shy that day. The meat and cheese board was more than enough for the two of us. Did I mention the views? Schönegg's terrace is wonderful. From the terrace, you have a view over Zermatt & of course the Matterhorn. On a sunny day, this is the perfect place to have a drink or some food & relax!

After a day in the Sun and Snow we found this terrasse and fell In love with it. The drinks are good, the apero-snacks (Edamame!!!) amazing and the view breathtaking. A proper sun-terrasse. The staff is super friendly and attentive. We really enjoyed our time simmering under the sun in a good atmosphere. In the evening we had dinner in the restaurant. The vegetarian options were fantastic, the meat was smoked and super yum! Overall also great time! Thanks to the team, we will definitely be back!

I was truly amazed by my experience here. The service surpassed my expectations; the attentive staff regularly attended to us, ensuring a seamless dining experience from start to finish. Our new favourite spot in Zermatt. We had been visiting Zermatt annually since 2011/2012 winter, but after the birth of our youngest, who didn't travel well, we had skipped the last couple of seasons. That is until two weeks ago when we returned with a plan to revisit all of our favourite haunts, off and on the mountain. Along with revisiting all our favourite spots, our general rule is to try one new place each trip, therefore fine-tuning our ultimate list, and keeping it fresh. Our spot this year was the recently opened Diner's Club, which we came to learn about when making our booking at After Seven, also at the Backstage Hotel. In brief, this immediately became our favourite dinner experience in town. The scene: the dining room is set two level below street, in front of a stage with where the lovely Beth (who reminded us of an early Amy Macdonald – whom she later spontaneously covered) entertained us with her exceptional renditions of old and new favourites, taking requests, engaging the diners and creating a great atmosphere. The décor was reminiscent of an early 20th century jazz club diner, with a clear Heinz Julen industrial flair (Heinz is the owner operator of the Backstage, and the architect behind many of Zermatt’s most notable properties). At the back of the dining room was the kitchen, above which was a balcony with a busy bar, from which guests could also enjoy the live performance. The food: The Diner's Club shares a chef and palate with After Seven, which was quickly apparent when Michelin Starred chef Florian came to our table with delicious amuse-bouche. He was charming and witty, which only added to our enjoyment of the delicious food he and his equally charming team later served. We were a group of four, and we ordered the meat and fish set menus (2 apiece), which were simply put…perfect. The comparisons with After Seven were natural, and when compared (and not to take away from the A7 experience at all) this was a more fun and enjoyable group dining experience, and one that we will be repeating on our next visit. The dessert was the standout dish for the group (although I equally loved all three courses – I opted for the Huntsman menu), which was a mango, chocolate, kaffir display that was a perfect balance of light and sweet. Our meal was punctuated by a visit and chat with the proprietor, Heinz Julen, who was making the rounds downstairs as he done earlier in the week at A7. The verdict: Brilliant, you should definitely go.
