But almost 44degree steep hike up & down towards the eatery, not easy for those who do not exercise regularly as high attitude too. Able to reserve via their email on website to get their outdoor bench seats with the best views.

Our experience at Chez Vrony was truly an 11 out of 10. The location is absolutely magical, with the most breathtaking views of the Matterhorn. We went to celebrate my mom’s 70th birthday, and the staff went above and beyond to make it special. They were so kind and accommodating—letting our group of four sit at the very front of the patio (a spot that usually only seats two). At the end of lunch, they even surprised my mom with a birthday dessert, which was such a thoughtful gesture and made her day unforgettable. I am so grateful to them for creating such a wonderful memory. The food was excellent—the salads were fresh, flavorful, and filling, and the cocktails were delicious and refreshing after the hike down. Everything was beautifully presented and tasted just as good as the views looked! The hike itself was very manageable on the way down, but if you’re going with seniors, I’d recommend bringing hiking sticks, as the trek back up can be a bit tough. We had an 11:30 reservation, so the hike down was comfortable, but heading back up later in the day got hot—definitely bring sunscreen. Between the views, the food, and the warm, thoughtful service, Chez Vrony is absolutely worth the effort to get there. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Zermatt—it’s an experience you’ll never forget.

Absolutely a once in a lifetime experience for a flatlander from canada! The food was delicious, and the view unmatched. The best experience from our Switzerland trip by far. If you decide to splurge on any food or dining experience, while in the country or zermatt… highly recommend.

One of the most unique experiences I’ve ever had. Sitting there, eating cheese fondue while staring straight at the Matterhorn… it honestly felt surreal. The whole place has this cozy, charming vibe that makes you want to stay for hours. Every dish we ordered was genuinely delicious. Nothing felt overdone or fussy, just really good food made with care. Our waitress had the kindest smile the entire time, which somehow made the whole experience feel even more special. The hike up wasn’t bad at all. It actually made it feel like we earned our meal, which made everything taste even better. If you’re anywhere near Zermatt, this is a must.

This is a must do while in Zermatt!! I’m not sure I have enough adjectives to describe how wonderful our lunch was at Chez Vrony. The service was lovely, the food delicious and the setting absolutely magical with stunning views of the Matterhorn. It took us four hours to hike down from Gornergrat Station to Chez Vrony. It was an epic day and our most favourite of twelve days we’ve been in Switzerland.

We’ve explored many cities, but this has been the most magical experience by far. You really have to work for it—funicular ride, a downhill hike, delicious food and wine, then more hiking. Absolutely unforgettable! We even saw a handsome white horse, staring back at us for a long long time!

Really nice place up in Findeln with a beautiful mountain view. The atmosphere is relaxed, the staff are friendly, and everything feels welcoming. Great spot to take a break during a hike or just enjoy the view with something sweet. Big thanks to the staff for waiting a little past closing time for me. This is a must if you’re skiing Zermatt! Make sure to make a reservation and hope to catch it on a nice day because the views and food combined are the most elite experience one could ask for. Everything we ate and drank was beyond delicious and all on a sunny day on the side of the mountain with views of the Matterhorn. Staff was friendly, menu had a lot of variety, and vibes are unbeatable. Would definitely recommend this over or instead of Chez Vrony if you’re having difficulty with reservations!!

Unfortunately we did not get a chance to eat here as we already had lunch but we did stop to have cocktails before the hike back down to Zermatt. We had the peppermint spritz and the rhubarb spritz and they were both delicious. The staff were extremely friendly.

The food and views are amazing here. However, the food is prepared ahead of time, which means there are very limited options for those with food allergies. The service was not great, though. Not enough staff for the number of tables, and they even had another group seated at the same table as us. The food came promptly, but we had to ask for the bill twice, and we waited 25 minutes for the bill to arrive. All together, probably worth the long walk to get here, but if you're not up for a long climb, the food closer to the lift stations is perfectly acceptable.

Okay what to say about this restaurant that hasn't been said before. Number one either have to walk or ski to get there. Amble down a narrow path to enter a otherworldly beautiful restaurant with a equally gorgeous vista of the matter horn. Definitely need reservations and sunscreen. We had a couple of delicious meals and a small bottle of wine. The service was nice and attentive but not intrusive and young.

Brown Cow is a great spot for a delicious chicken burger! My wife and I don't drink or eat red meat so the chicken burger was our primary choice and we were not at all disappointed! The burgers were delicious, reasonably priced, and the fries were hot and crispy. A great option for chicken preferrers! The atmosphere was also quite nice. The background music was not very loud so talking was easy. We were also pleasantly surprised by passing goats through town as we ate. This is a very clean and well kept establishment. The bathrooms/water closet are located in the back, up the stairs, and to the left also when you're inside as a patron.

The service is very attentive but the burgers are just ok. The bun for the burger fell apart about halfway through so they need to do a better job roasting the bun or picking a better bread to make the burger. Overall was good and would absolutely give it another go.

Everything was really good. The hotdog was juicy and flavorful. The nachos had cheese that was melted with it. The burger was also really yummy (although it was a bit too salty for me). Overall I had a yummy time here.

This place was hopping....which is usually a good sign. Seat yourself, server was spunky and fun. I had the Zermatter burger and fries....really, really good. Beef was juicy and toppings fresh and plentuful.

Missed the lunch window as most kitchens closed by 1:45 PM, so we ended up at this pub—and what a happy accident it turned out to be! Their Zamatt Beef Signature Burger absolutely blew me away. The beef patty was perfectly seared on the outside, yet juicy and tender inside. Add crispy bacon, melted cheese, and a generous serving of thick-cut fries, and you’ve got a winner. I also spotted Baileys coffee on the beverage menu and asked if it could be served cold—the staff happily obliged, and it was fantastic. If you're a burger and Baileys kind of person, this spot is a must-visit. You won’t be disappointed.

Arguably the best meal in Zermatt. Not only is the restaurant located in the incredible CERVO hotel with stellar views of Matterhorn, but the food is also absolutely incredible. Service is friendly and excellent. The pasta carbonara? Insanely good.

Some of the best food we had during our trip in Switzerland. Absolutely loved the pasta and the great wine pairings with local wines. The tiramisu is definitely a must. If you’re looking for a great meal with stunning Matterhorn views, look no further 🍝

We tried so hard to like this place but it was hard. It was too fancy for us. It’s very expensive so we were expecting delicious food. However I got the ribeye and the truffle butter was extremely over salted. It ruined the steak for me. I also bought a 12 CHF side of truffle fries which were covered in Parmesan cheese. You could barely taste the fry itself. I’m giving it 4 stars because of the views and the atmosphere. They had live music playing which was a nice addition. This is definitely a fine dining experience so be prepared to pay for a full course meal. Nothing comes with anything. We came here because we saw online it was rated the number one Italian restaurant in Zermatt. I wouldn’t say that is true. I can recommend this place to anyone looking for a fine dining experience with money to spend and a rich taste. If you want more classic Italian dishes, look elsewhere. This place doesn’t offer any “normal” pasta dishes such as spaghetti Bolognese.

Such a beautiful day at a beautiful restaurant! We ate outside and it was so delicious! The service was exceptional and fast, and we would highly recommend getting the carbonara! For those from the US you can easily put down a large size ;)

Isabelle, our waitress was instructive , friendly and responsive. The food is splendid and the tiramisu is to die for. The atmosphere is cozy and romantic, perfect for a date night. Dress is casual for after ski dinner.

Food was quick and amazing. As we have some small eaters within the group, the restaurant allow us to share the huge portions which I appreciate. This was the BEST authentic Italian food we had in Zermatt. Dinner reservations are required but lunch time it’s usually empty so we came for lunch. Noodles are homemade! I had the cavatelli with pork which was absolutely delicious and filling. I was incredibly full after the meal. Service was super friendly and they kept coming by to check on us. We sat outside at a table in an alleyway which is their only outdoor seating. No view at all but I can say for sure the food was worth every penny spent.

We had an amazing experience! The service was wonderful! The pasta were home-made and delicious. Our two favorites were the Frutte di Mare and the bolognese. Both amazing. We also had a wonderful pizza!! We highly recommend Marlo!!

What. Did. I. Just. EAT?!?! 🤩😍🤩😍 It was the slow cooked short rib. My face changed as soon as I put the first bite in my mouth. Absolute mental and spiritual journey into a chocolate drenched, slowly cooked tower of short ribs with delicate fatty bits and purple potatoes. I didn’t want it to end. Gorgeous. Upstairs and downstairs have unique signatures so check both! Malika, the awesome waitperson, gave detailed accounts of each dish so it was easy to choose. I honestly wanted another one right after I finished scraping the last bits of sauce off the plate. Absolutely royal. And GREAT VIBE.

Being from San Francisco, it was pretty interesting to find extraordinary tacos...in Zermatt! We shared many dishes, each of which were original and very tasty. The authenticity of each dish was amazingly good for the wide range of "south American" food.

One of the best restaurants in Zermatt and the entire region. One of our two favourite restaurants. We return here each year and multiple times during our visits. High quality food and a great service combined with a beautiful atmosphere. The staff members were welcoming and kind. It was nice to see a change in the menu and a complete transformation of the content. The Chefs and cooking staff greeted with a big smile and acknowledged us before we leave from their kitchen area in the middle of the restaurant. Our waiter, Jan, did an excellent job delivering his service and explaining everything while trying to sell us everything he could elegantly which is quite impressive and worth noting. We highly recommend this restaurant.

My friend and i had the most amazing lunch on this hidden terrace! The food was simply (we had almost everything ahaha) the best with tasteful combinations and i was introduced to many new things , also not too spicy since the Chef and team are catering for all preferences so if you cannot handle spicy food like me this is perfect for you.The staff was so kind and and always looked after us and welcoming feedback. Since it’s a small and intimate space, just keep in mind that other tables can feel close—occasionally, some guests might get a bit loud. But honestly, just focus on your company, take your time, and enjoy the whole experience. It’s a lovely spot to unwind, catch up with friends, and savor great food and wine.

My favourite Restaurant in Zermatt! I am visiting Brasserie Uno at least once every season. The creations are always surprising, well balanced and just delicious. Also the presentation of the plates is creative, colourful and well thought through. Ambiance is calm and cosy and the service is attentive, competent and friendly. I can only recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to experience new tastes, flavours and consistencies. Bravo bravo Brasserie Uno! I'll be there soon again!

One of the best meals I had on this trip to Switzerland. I loved everything about Brasserie Uno. The food, the wines, the service, the atmosphere and the overall experience. It’s a small, intimate restaurant ran with heart and a true passion for food. My sincere thanks to Chef Luis, Chef Tommaso, and Catia. Words simply couldn’t describe the goodness of this place. You really needed to see (and taste) it for yourself. Highly recommended.

Food was very good, mostly hits, a few misses. Service was attentive, but quite long. We took 3 hours to finish their course, and we were quick to finish the dishes as it came out. They need to fix their acoustics, or their table spacing. I couldn't hear the server explain the food, all I could hear were the other diners.

The food was amazing, as always. We visit this restaurant every year, and it never disappoints. We felt such genuine warmth from both the staff and the food. I heard the restaurant faced a tough time over the summer due to the flood, but the quality hasn’t changed a bit—it’s still one of our favourites. We stumbled upon this place on the hike from Schwarzsee to Zmut (highly recommend the Hobbit Trail), and it is truly amazing. The coolest mountain hang and a great resting place on the hike down the mountain. Cannot recommend this route more!

Been in Zermatt for a week and I have to say this is the best food, service, and atmosphere we have experienced in Zermatt. We hiked from Zermatt to the climbers hut and stopped at Stafelalp on the way down for a late lunch. The chicken Caesar salad is a cornucopia of flavors. The shredded beef over potatoes was top notch. We may have to hike up from the village again just to go back. This is a must on anyone’s list that is in the area.

What a great place to stop and get some food and drink. Extremely well kept up with fantastic views of the Matterhorn. Noelle and her crew were inviting right from the start. Even though they were hard at work sprucing up the garden and applying a fresh sanding of the wood surfaces, they were able to pause and provide us excellent service. The homemade pies were incredible and they had a great variety of drinks to choose from. We had hiked 2 miles off the Schwarsee gondola stop and were ready for a break. Noelle treated us to amazing apricot and apple pies in addition to refilling our water bottles and providing us a delightful shot of plum liquor. They have a full menu of food along with plenty of seating both inside and outside. Well worth a stop if you are hiking/riding the Stafelalp trail!

I skied past this place more than 100 times over the years but today was the first time I ventured within. I will never ski past it again! Today was hiking by and it started raining, so I went in for a coffee and a snack Great food, ambiance, music, vibe, and service! And the place is super clean and modern after a recent renovation.

Our family has just enjoyed a wonderful lunch at the newly reopened Restaurant Stafelalp. Super friendly and efficient service, top quality food, sensational views of the Matterhorn and warm ambience. Can highly recommend the potato truffle soup and for dessert the winter fruit crumble with cinnamon ice cream (best I’ve ever had, and I’ve had a lot!). Late lunch here is the perfect way to finish a day skiing on the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise before an easy ski back to town.

If you haven’t looked this place up in advance, you might easily miss out on a great restaurant experience – the small black signs along the trail don’t really do it justice – but this is definitely a spot worth the stop. Beautiful location with a stunning view of the Matterhorn, great food, generous portions, friendly service, and stylish interiors. 5/5 stars!

I was there around 10 am Sat, a lady serving customers were rude. She raised her voice when I asked a same question twice because I did not understand her well. All the 3 I bought was very average. I strongly recommend to go to the bakery “Backzeit” there are two locations near by. They are far better in terms of quality & service.

We both thought this was the best place we went to for food/snacks/treats in Zermatt. Lovely atomosphere, really nice staff and the chocolate ganache cake was THE best ganache cake we have ever had. Loads to choose from and a great atomosphere. Only grumble would be that it is a cafe/cake shop with chocolate so the Hot Chocolate should be a bona fide made before it hits the table hot chocolate, not another cup of hot milk with a sachet of powdered instant hot chocolate poured on top of the milk

We tried this location this morning for the famous apple strudel. While it was good, I do feel it was overrated. The bakery, however, is lovely and has other delicious food and treats.

We stopped at this bakery and coffee shop and it was a pleasant experience! It's right in tourist central on the main street of Zermatt. Upstairs is a seating area with a second display of cakes and pastries. Restrooms are on the same level. The staff is friendly and professional. They speak quite well English and are willing to accommodate every single guest. They also take pictures of you if asked.

The food looks exquisite and there are many options, but the staff’s attitude is very poor. In the morning, I went to buy some bread with my dog. I told the saleswoman what I wanted, but she didn’t take the bread for me—instead, she told me that dogs are not allowed here, in a rather dismissive and unfriendly way. There’s another branch of the same bakery in town, and I’ve never had any problems buying bread there with my dog. I’ve also seen other people bring their dogs. It seems that this particular saleswoman was being discriminatory.

Manud in Zermatt is a great find, especially for those with dietary preferences, as vegetarian, lactose-free, and gluten-free options are very clearly indicated on the menu. We tried their vegetarian Tom Kha Curry with tofu and a side of rice, along with the vegetarian Chinese Noodles. Both were flavorful, though we found them a little on the salty side. The staff were attentive and friendly, let us pick our own table, and our food arrived quickly. The atmosphere seems very relaxed, with people enjoying iced tea and hanging out - it definitely has a great vibe for unwinding. Highly recommended if you're seeking good vegetarian or vegan food in Zermatt.

Great spot for Fusion Asian food! I especially love the teriyaki poke bowl. The restaurant offers the best view and has such a warm, inviting atmosphere.

It was a lovely change of pace to have some Asian fusion food instead of the usual Swiss or Italian fare, and Manud did not disappoint! The Tom Kha soup was very good, and all of the coffee and matcha drinks were quite good as well. Would recommend for those seeking something different in Zermatt.

Recommended restaurant to dine in. Fantastic Food reasonably priced. If Japanese Rice bowl is ordered, asked for sauce aside and add in accordance to your taste. Rice was soaking wet with sauce when served to me and I cannot take the overwhelming taste. Restaurant had very kindly remade a bowl with sauce aside and it worked well for me. Best ever cheese cake and waffle I had. Don’t miss it ! Thanks for the good service !

Unexpected gem! We came here because another restaurant we wanted to try was closed and we stumbled across this place. The bahn mi was amazing! The focaccia wasn’t as good, given that it was similarly priced, but I still enjoyed it!

Service was quite disappointing. When we asked the staff what’s included in the kids’ rice bowl, she simply said “everything on the menu” without making any effort to explain. As parents, we care about what our child eats and expected a clearer answer. The food was also below average , the so-called rice bowl was basically just salad with rice, not what we expected at all. Strongly not recommended.

Really enjoyed the dry aged rib eye and Irish lamb rack. Nice quiet establishment, however, service could be better. Served forgot to provide bread for us whereas the others got it and then seemed slightly amused at the idea of us sharing the mains.

Even though they are a grill restaurant with lots of meaty options, they also offer quite a few really delicious vegan menus like roasted aubergine or cauliflower with baba ganoush. They also have a seitan tandoori grill special. Everything was very delicious and the service was nice. I also liked that they very publicly communicate that they have a lot of vegan options, e.g. on billboards throughout Zermatt. All in all, we had a great time and will come again.

Absolutely top tier night at Hornox for my birthday which was unpretentious, warm and memorable. Every plate of food presented was outstanding with great service to boot from Roberto. We went for my birthday dinner and would highly recommend! The restaurant had little birthday decorations on the table, it was cute and thoughtful. The food was amazing, the mushroom appetizers were my favorite! We had the tomahawk and seafood platter. The different sauces served with the steak were fantastic, especially the butter sauce. We’ll definitely be back!

Very unique concept. Friendly to both vegan/vegetarians and meat eaters. Celebrated my husbands bday he’s an omnivore and I’m a vegetarian and enjoyed both our selections of food and a great bottle of red wine. Great ambiance and service was great as well.

Great music for apres ski. Dave Murphy and a few guys were jamming on Tuesday night and the music was fantastic. From Beatles to Fleetwood Mac covers, everyone took the mike and gave a contribution.

The salty flavor of this clam pasta is truly delicious—the sauce is rich and brings out the freshness of the clams perfectly. The saltiness is well balanced, making each bite really appetizing and a great match with the spaghetti!

Great Italian food but service for me was slightly lacking. It takes quite a while to get the servers attention both for ordering and requesting something. But food wise we enjoyed what we ordered, and the atmosphere was nice dining outdoors. A very good option for Italian dining if you are in Zermatt.

I ordered in the restaurant twice. One takeaway to eat in our hotel and ordered a seafood pasta with a pizza. When arrived in hotel upon checking the pasta given was not seafood it was a vegetarian pasta which is far cheaper from what i paid and originally ordered seafood. Immediately rang the restaurant and got told to come back tomorrow and will be given the correct pasta for free and apologised for inconvenience as the kitchen was already closed if we come back same night. Think they gave me someone elses pasta as when he originally gave the food it was missing the pizza and had to remind i ordered the pasta with pizza as takeaway. Next day we went back to eat in the restaurant advised of the error from the night before, I ordered my seafood pasta which was amazing and another pizza. Bill came out and no compensation provided for the wrong order provided from the night before. Was asked to pay for the pasta and the pizza and the offer over the phone the night prior for their error was not honored. I dont like arguing bills specially in a restaurant hence just paid but left the restaurant feeling like we got scammed. If we knew they werent going to honour their word we wouldnt have bothered going back. After paying the bill they gave us a small plate of tiramisu 😅. The seafood pasta was amazing, just the service and their mix up is what ruined it as after a long day of hike i was looking forward to it just to be given a vegetarian pasta which was not filling for me.

So good we came back the next night! The owner never stopped moving, he was right out there with everyone else working hard. The food was great and the pizza is a good deal for Zermatt.

As someone with many Italian friends and a love for Italian cuisine, I had high expectations of Zermatt italian taste— but the experience was quite disappointing. I ordered a dish listed as tortellini, but what I received looked and tasted more like oversized ravioli or mezzelune. The pasta was undercooked, and the sauce was bland — it tasted more like a supermarket cream base than something freshly prepared. The lasagna was also dry on top and unevenly reheated, with little flavor, as if it had been sitting around. The bread basket had burnt pieces and others that were doughy and undercooked. We did mention the issue with the raw pasta to the staff, and they were kind enough to offer us a tiramisu and a coffee on the house, which we appreciated. Still, overall the food did not meet the standard you’d expect from an Italian restaurant. If I had been here with my Italian friends, I know they would have found it unacceptable. I didn’t complain further since I was with my wife, but I wanted to leave this review to help others make an informed choice.

We absolutely loved the spicy salami pizza! Everything was spot-on—from the perfectly crisp crust to the flavorful sauce, gooey cheese, and delicious salami. The staff kindly split the pizza between two plates since we were sharing, which was a thoughtful touch. Enjoying it out on the patio in September made the experience even better—the perfect mix of great food and perfect weather.

On our first day visiting Zermatt our hotel reception recommended Molino Restaurant. This restaurant was packed when we arrived but they still managed to shuffle some tables to accommodate us. We loved the food so much we came back the next day for lunch. On day one we had tagliatelle with salmon and were served by Luigi and on day two we had carne and we were served by Helena.

During my stay in Zermatt, I ended up visiting GoldenIndia twice — that’s how good it was! The food is absolutely amazing — rich in flavor, great quality, and so authentic that it’s hard to find Indian food this good even back home in Canada. Every dish we tried was full of taste and perfectly spiced. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Highly recommended for anyone craving real Indian food in the Swiss Alps!

Believe me when I say this is THE BEST Indian restaurant in Switzerland. We saw it outside the zermatt station and a friend had recommended it. The food was amazing! The taste is authentic and you can feel that chefs have put effort. We got paneer pakora, chai, palak paneer, naans and Gulab jamun. All were outstanding. It is expensive but everything in general is expensive in Switzerland. This one is worth the money. You’re missing out if you visit zermatt and don’t go here as an Indian. 10/10 recommend.

When we ordered, we learned that they ONLY serve all chicken dishes with chicken legs. I asked about the description of chicken tikka because it stated boneless. They are using legs & just cutting off the chicken. We’ve never had tikka quite so greasy and had to eat around so much fat. Of course, they are charging the same high prices as other Swiss restaurants that use white breast meat. In fact, this is the first Indian restaurant that does this. We’ve been in Germany/Switzerland for about 30 days, eating at several places. I was pleasantly surprised all serve chicken curry with breast meat. I ordered it here and with the legs, very greasy. Again, same high prices as others using white meat. The other thing we’ve never seen is serving chicken tikka on a plate vs the usual hot skillet. It actually had zero flavor. The outer sauce had some flavor but the chicken itself tasted more like boiled chicken. I kind of thought this wouldn’t be the best meal when the whole order came out within 6-7 mins. The whole experience was very disappointing. The total was $75chf for: chicken tikka, chicken curry, 1 naan. Will not be back. Not sure how so many reviews can honestly say this is the best Indian food they’ve eaten. Not true at all. The best in Europe is in Strasbourg, France. Tikka n’ Way. Chef worked at a 3 Michelin star restaurant in New Delhi. We ordered the exact same dishes and it took 45 mins to prepare. That should give everyone a clue. Update 9/27: Interesting after our review lowered the overall rating for the restaurant, so many reviews written by Indians have 5 stars; note none posted any pics of them in the restaurant with their food. Mostly just gave ratings. Lesson learned for us not to fall for fake reviews when there are so many.

Food was very delicious! Servers were nice! I ordered chicken curry with balsamic rice. I don't eat spicy but the curry is very little spicy that I would recommend people not having spicy food can give it a shoot. Garlic naan (bread) was amazing and went perfectly with the sauce.

Really good for a yummy, filling meal after walking on the hiking trails. Pricey but that's to be expected in the area and Id say you get more for your money here. Quality of food lines up with what you would get at some nice curry houses in London. The manager was very nice and even gave us some extra rice when he saw we were running out :) also had some nice conversations after!

Expensive, but that's to be expected. I ordered the garlic fish and it wasn't good. Came too salty, and there was not enough rice to balance that out. Dried ginger was used, which had weak flavour and leathery texture. Onions also were not peeled properly as many pieces were inedible. Fish itself was alright. And the fish came in a bowl that did not sit properly on its stand, which made eating more difficult. I have no idea what these other reviewers are talking about. Best Indian restaurant in Switzerland?? I hope they got a good free meal for writing that one up.

What a fantastic find. Coming from Birmingham I wasn't expecting it to be so good. The staff were amazing. There was a slight issue with my starter but they just replaced it within minutes Fish pakora for starter and prawn masala with garlic nann bread. It comes with rice. They didn't hold back with the prawns either. If you want a meal to fill you up go try them. You will not be disappointed. Booking is highly recommend.

As a couple we went here for a 4-course Christmas Eve dinner where we had to reserve in advance. Upon arrival we were friendly greeted and they offer to put our jackets away. We were presented with the menu and upon ordering the aperitif this was removed from the table with a remark that they will explain every dish served. First dish they didn’t explain what the dish consisted off and they served it before confirming which wine bottle we would like to pair with the dishes. In the menu it said it will have truffle, which in the end was shredded to bits instead of shaved and hence lost all of its flavor. Second dish we asked them to explain and the waiter didn’t know what they were serving and came back with the menu instead of an explanation. Third dish which was supposed to be a sirloin was cold, full of muscle and because of that was chewy. We were offered another slice but we were not comfortable and didn’t like it at all. Dessert was 2 pieces of to our taste stale bread and Chantilly cream which was quite underwhelming. All in all we felt like it was overpriced, underwhelming and tasteless which is totally not a representation of a Christmas menu. What completely threw us off was that after payment and upon leaving we were directed to closet full of jackets where we had to look and search for our jackets ourself, which for us is unacceptable, if you offer to take our jackets you should also know where you stored them and return them as is, this is to our experience and opinion the opposite of customer service and experience and to some extend reflects poorly not only on the restaurant but also on the affiliated hotel Rex which stands for quality and customer service. We will not go back and deeply regret having Christmas dinner here.

Steaks were average and nothing special about the add ons. Sauces were more than average and I think there are better places in town for hormone free meat. This is the first place in Switzerland where they start with charging you for tap water and which was definitely didn’t fit in to trust them for anything else. Too pricey for this kind of food. Definitely a waste of my evening

Tasty food overall, but a bit overpriced for what you get I recently visited this restaurant and overall, the experience was good — not amazing, but solid. We tried 8 different dishes. About 6 of them were genuinely tasty, well-prepared, and nicely presented. The other 2 were just okay — not bad, but not memorable either. A bit hit-or-miss depending on what you order. The atmosphere was pleasant and the service was attentive. However, I did find the prices a bit high considering the overall quality. While some dishes were worth it, others didn’t quite justify the cost. 📌 In short: a nice place to enjoy a good meal if you choose your dishes wisely — but don’t expect every plate to blow you away. I might come back, but with more measured expectations.

The atmosphere was nice, and watching the fresh fire grilling the steak right next to our table was quite entertaining. However, the food was underwhelming considering the price we paid. The starters and bread were very good, and the homemade duck fat butter was delicious. The steak and chicken, however, were just average. The duck, in particular, was disappointingly bland and overly salty. The waiter gave off a slightly arrogant vibe—still polite, but not exactly pleasant or comfortable. The four of us spent 355 CHF, with only two large bottles of water and a single cocktail—which probably says enough about how salty the food was.

The service here was incredible. Super funny team, really enjoyed our time. And the flavors were incredible. I recommend the beef tongue and the tenderloin, but in the two times we visited, we tried different things and nothing was a miss.

We ordered steam sea bass in soy sauce and spicy veal liver. The taste was amazing and service was excellent. Moreover, they provide watermalon after meal as a compliment. If you are looking for the authentic Chinese food, we highly recommend this restaurant.

If you're an asian looking for the best value for money that will satisfy your 'rice is life' craving, this is the best place in Zermatt to spend your money on. After a very long day of walking and exploring, this place's food definitely hits the spot. I am not Chinese but we do enjoy Chinese food once in a while, and I can say that their dishes are one of the really good ones we have tasted. Of course it will be expensive.. but so is everything else in Zermatt. Serving portions is also enough.. and this is coming from 2 very hungry Filipinos who walked the entire day. 😅 Food in photo has already been touched and consumed, so do not rely on the serving size and presentation based on this photo. Service was friendly and efficient. Highly recommended!

Fantastic moment with the family both at SPA and Restaurant. But hat makes the difference is the implacable service! Great staff, extremely friendly and capable. We live in Zermatt most of the year and go to this amazing place regularly. Often just for a drink after skiing or in the summer for a late lunch after hiking. On 25th December we came for a Christmas lunch with the whole family, incl. 2 kids and a dog and got a great table in the corner. All the food we had was delicious and the service very efficient, despite of the restaurant being fully booked. Even when busy, one does not have the crammed feeling as in the other places because of the clever design and decoration. Thanks, Silvana team, see you soon! Update January 2024: We were there several times since the first evaluation and everytime the food & service was great. My Rösti with salmon portion today was so large, I was glad we walked up all the way from Zermatt, despite of very cold temperatures. My friends burger was delicious, too. See you soon!

Cozy, beautiful, and DELICIOUS restaurant in the Silvana Mountain Hotel. My group of friends went there for my birthday dinner and were shocked to discover that they had decorated our area with birthday lights, balloons, and streamers. They even brought in a large birthday cake with sparklers in the end - incredible service and dedication. On top of that, everything we ordered to eat and drink was extremely delicious. We were in high spirits all night. Highly, highly recommend.

An absolutely lovely restaurant. Service was impeccable, and the meal was one of our favorites during our trip to Zermatt. We walked to the restaurant from town, which took about an hour, but the restaurant provided sleds and a flashlight for us to ride back into town via the road down the mountain, so fun! This is on our list of must-visit places in Zermatt, don't miss it! Great food, gracious service, and a fun sled ride to top it all off. What more could you want?

Likely the most knowledgeable spot in town when it comes to espresso. Zermatt may be a coffee desert (though it excels in many other things). The owner was upfront: “It’s Italian-style coffee—dark. I know the lighter, more acidic modern style, but I don’t like it, so I don’t serve it.” I respect her honesty and barista skills. But taste wasn’t for me. Then again - this this desert and here is the coffee probably as good as it gets. No almond milk. Only soy and lactose-free options.

Very cute, quaint cafe in Zermatt! We only got the hot chocolate because we heard it was the best. It was quite good! It had more of a dark chocolate flavor, but was very rich and had a hefty amount of whipped cream. There were a lot of other fun things on the menu that we will have to try next time.

This is a cozy, very well furnished cafe in Zermatt with great vegetarian/vegan food options. We tried soup of the day (pea soup with bread was delicious), avocado focaccia and the banana bread and every single item was amazing. The servers were polite and friendly.

We stopped by this cafe for breakfast and it was so cute! They even had books for the kiddos. Such a cozy little place. We loved the butter croissants with ham and cheese. FYI: I did not like my regular hot chocolate (They call it homemade chocolate there was not enough milk it was too dark and I think made with water instead of milk) but the coffee Vernon (Carmel ice cream inside coffee) was outstanding! Overall highly recommend :)

Lovely place to sit and enjoy a hot chocolate and a cake. We returned every day during our vacation. Cakes were very tasty. Chai latte and hot chocolate was homemade. The Matterhorn chocolates were also delicious. Highly recommend.

Loved this little café! Aleksandra was so sweet and welcoming to everyone. The coffee was excellent. We had just finished a heavy meal, so I didn’t get to try the pastries. They looked amazing, and I’ll definitely be coming back another time for breakfast.

Found this nice little café few minutes walk from the train station which has a rustic vibe to it. Order hot dark chocolate and it was divine. Also had banana bread with walnuts but it more nutty taste than banana. I would recommend if you want a place to warm yourself up momentarily as you can only stay like half an hour or so.

I asked the cashier if their soup was vegan, with very little expectation. To my surprise, she kindly said she didn’t want to mislead me and went straight to ask the cook. The answer came back positive — and thanks to that, we got to enjoy the most beautiful views a little longer, with a 100% confirmed vegan vegetable soup!

Terrible burned food and equally bad service. Chefs don't even try. Pay a bit more instead and go to one of the other places. Infinitely more worth it

Self service cafeteria style restaurant. Four dinning areas: out terrace with amazing view, two separate rooms on either side of the cafeteria and one room downstairs for busy days. Restrooms downstairs with a baby changing table between the restrooms and open to both genders. Free internet access. No TV. Good meeting point. Food is just okay and expensive - but this is Zermatt so it's what to be expected.

Sit down, order a drink, and take in the view. Matterhorn.

Loved the food at this restaurant, papaya salad was so nice and refreshing. Green curry taste was authentic and spicy as I wanted. Service was a bit slow but the staff apologised to us and it looked like they were under staffed with one person serving all the tables. Overall nice food but to note the prices of the dishes are high as well with good portion size

While the food doesn’t fully capture the authentic taste due to its fusion style, it was still good — warm, freshly cooked, and satisfying. We were on a 5-days road trip around Switzerland and had a chance to visit Zermatt on one of the days. Me being Thai, searched for a Thai restaurant and found Rua Thai kitchen popping up so my boyfriend and I went there for a dinner. I’ve seen some reviews here saying that the food is too expensive, but honestly, the whole of Switzerland is expensive! You just gotta make peace with the fact that no matter where you go in Switzerland, it will be a lot more expensive than most European countries. I ordered Green Beef Curry for my main course and hands down, it was the best green curry I’ve ever tasted from traveling around Europe. Probably the closest taste you can get to Thailand itself! My boyfriend ordered chicken cashew, but as far as chicken cashew goes - there’s not much excitement to it, taste wise ( I think this also depends on what you order. It can be pretty average or it can be really tasty). We loved the dim sum for appetizer, I’m pretty sure it was homemade and again, best dim sum I’ve had! Atmosphere was decent, the setting was low key, lights were dimmed. Service was prompt! We didn’t wait long for our food at all, the male staff was attentive and really friendly. When you get out of the restaurant you’ll also get to enjoy the view of the Matterhorn mountain when you walk less than one minute further down towards the bridge. I don’t know about others’ experience but mine was positive and I highly recommend Rua Thai.

It is the best Thai food I ever had in Switzerland, probably better than some Thai restaurants that I had in London. Recommend the Pad Thai with prawn, the prawns are really fresh. They even have fresh lobster, could try them when I visit Zermatt next time.

Schweizerhof Kitchen is a hidden restaurant off the Zermatt Bahnhofstrasse. While advertising to have been featured on the Michelin guide, I believe they fell short of the bar. The Caesar salad was a must have, delicious and very fresh. Our T-Bone steak came with a variety of sides and sauces all of which were delicious but nothing excitingly special. Service was very slow and we struggled to get the attention of our waiter. So slow that while we wanted to order dessert, we skipped doing so knowing it would add another 45 minutes to an hour to our stay. This restaurant is dog friendly which definitely put a dent in our experience. I had a shoo away a dog from sniffing our plate once our food finally arrived. Despite the dreadfully slow service, the food was good. However, I believe you’re better off stopping into a traditional Swiss restaurant for dinner.

Excellent modern hotel with remarkable decor. The staff is very friendly and helpful, most speaking multiple languages. The food at the restaurant was very tasty and diverse. I enjoyed the double pork chop the best. Breakfast was a large buffet covering many nationalities. When in Zermatt, I would highly recommend staying here, enjoying the atmosphere, food, and relaxing bar.

Had a great experience with a large group. Their drinks are original. Steak was perfectly cooked with a great char from the amazing wood fired Argentinian grill they have. The pizzas were good. The atmosphere is enjoyable: not too loud. The service was great.

This is the most rubbish restaurant I have ever eaten in Switzerland. I was actually very angry. What is this pancake made of? Both sides are burnt. I ask you, is there any garlic flavor in it? It's all burnt and bitter. Secondly, the light above my head was turned off. Look, the lights around me are all on. So you discriminate against me because I am Asian? Or what? The waiter saw the light was turned off and didn't react at all? Is he blind? I just didn't show my anger. I have more than 1 million followers on Chinese social media. I will post your store online. Just wait and see. Such attitude and food, this is what you do. 61 francs, and you bring me such an experience, it is simply indescribable. If you discriminate against me, tell me, if you discriminate against Asians or Chinese, tell me, then I have nothing to say, the lights were turned off for me, and only the light above my head was dark. This is what you did.

We enjoyed our meal at Schweizerhof Kitchen so much that we went back a second time this year and even selected the same item on the menu…the vegetarian cauliflower. It was an explosion of excellent flavors which included fresh pomegranate seeds. The fresh bread was fresh from the oven that was crusty on the outside and soft inside. The dessert was excellent too. A year ago when we ordered the Matterhorn shaped dessert it was made from milk chocolate but this year it was white chocolate. As we traveled both trips during September and October we definitely made reservations as some of the places start to close briefly before ski season starts. This was a nice relaxing place to enjoy a meal after spending the day taking the train to Gornergrat and Riffelsee to view the Matterhorn. Our first trip we had a group of eighty and the second time we went just my husband and I had a meal. Both times we had excellent food and service. When we go back to Zermatt, we’ll plan our time here around availability of getting a meal here and hoping they still serve our favorite dish. The location was on the main walking street so has within easy walking distance to most hotels.

What a unique spot this is. Me and my boyfriend come at least once a month! Our favorites: the steak tatar with marrowbone - YUMMY and the pizzas. Our young waitress from Bolivia was very helpful and friendly. We will always come back :)

The service is super super good. I never seen such good and professional service in EU. The waiter is super passionate when he introduces every dish, I love the vibe here. Best place we tried in Zermatt. Don’t be fooled by the name, there are antipasti in an old school deli fridge giving the ambience a slightly more causal French bistro vibe. Service was great. The only odd thing was we weren’t really offered a wine list, we had local Chardonnay by the glass recommended by the server which was solid for price and went well with our dishes, although there was a nice looking wine fridge and we might have been convinced to splash out a smidge for something with a bit more interest. The medium meat and cheese plate to start was generous and varied, more than enough for two, and all the cheeses were distinctive and characterful. For mains we got Wiener schnitzel (excellent) and Coq au Riesling (very good, interesting take on the dish, presentation unique). Prices were expected for the area but honestly worth it - we left satiated in both stomach and spirit.

We stopped here on our last night in Zermatt, looking for a later night quiet dinner to wrap up our trip. We did not expect this to be the best dinner we had in our two week vacation. The truffle pasta, and steak frites were both incredible. I will dream about this pasta for the rest of my life. We also had crème brûlée and the hot chocolate, both blew our mind. Ronny was such a fun and engaging server who made us feel valued and right at home. It was an incredible experience.

I am traveling through Europe with train, and have made a two days stop in Zermatt. By accident I passed Marie's Deli this afternoon, walked in and made a reservation. Thank God I did. The service from the Italian waiter who originally comes from Iscia was perfect. The food and wine was the best I have so far on my journey. I started out with a creamy tomato soup. As main disch I had Coq au Riesling, chicken in white wine sauce with sauer kraut and mashed potatoes. An unbelievably delicious dish. Along with my meal I had a couple glasses of local white wine, recommended by the waiter. Marie's Deli is truely a gem, on a side street away from the hustle and bussle and tourist traps on Bahnhofstrasse, the main street.

Ambiance: The deli was closed due to water damage so we sat in the hotel bar. It’s a nice place and it wants to be higher end than it is. It is also very much needs a luggage room because there was luggage strewn about everywhere. Service: There was one server who could best be rated as insufferable that made an excellent wine recommendation. His boss (the manager) and the rest of the service staff were actually quite delightful. They kept our wine glasses full, were very responsive and knew the finest little detail about every product. One even recommended and delivered some spice to bring that extra pop of flavor and it was delightful. Food: The food was very good. The salad with pears and blue cheese with a mustard dressing was one of the best I’ve had anywhere. A great combination of flavors well executed. We also had a Swiss charcuterie board, cheese board and other entrees - all were of good quality and well prepared.

Amazing food! BEST steak I have ever had including all the NYC steakhouses I’ve tried. This is one of the few restaurants open 7 days a week…other restaurants mostly open from wednesday…we just came across this restaurant and we’re so so happy we tried it out. Curry and steak are a MUST! Very excellent service, nice ambient setting, and beautiful plating.

Great spot for a late lunch and chill on the terrace. It’s rustic, traditional and off the beaten track. The view is one of the best in Zermatt. Soup was delicious, and the local cheese was excellent. Maitre D was a nice guy too. Only downside: cash only!

The view and terrace is second to none, a great place to stop off from the piste, or on a long walk from Sunnegga. Food offerings are good but basic. The place hasn't changed in years, but in a way that's a good thing, no loud music or fancy offerings here, just good traditional mountain atmosphere.

Incredible View, Embarrassing Experience This spot offers one of the most stunning views in Zermatt — truly unforgettable scenery. Sadly, everything else is far below even basic expectations. There’s no menu, no hospitality, and the quality of food and drinks is shockingly poor. I was served the worst coffee I’ve ever had — in a plastic cup with a plastic spoon — and a tiny bottle of water cost 5 francs to take away. That’s not just overpriced; it’s insulting. It’s heartbreaking to see such a beautiful location so badly mismanaged. This kind of experience harms tourism and leaves a terrible impression of what should be a premium destination. To the owner: Please step up. This place deserves better. Zermatt deserves better. With a little care and quality, this could be extraordinary — right now, it’s just an embarrassment. I wanted to eat something here but changed my mind as soon as i could.

Nice simple mountain hut in the middle of nowhere. Order at the counter (same as in many small huts all over the Alps). Indeed it is instant coffee that they serve, but in a spot like this, who cares! Down in Zermatt itself you can have all the proper coffee you want. The apple cake was good and tasty. The guy behind the counter was joking that surely I would want schnapps with the coffee, but I just said “oooh I’d better not” and that was that. Then, when I asked whether my 50 CHF note was too large, he joked about this being just the right amount for the coffee and cake. But of course he then proceeded to give me my change. Always bring cash (not Euros but Swiss francs!) with you to be able to pay in small huts like this. Just go with the flow, get your expectations down to reasonable levels and you might enjoy this place just as much as I did.

The worst place ever. Do not go there because you are clearly not welcome. The owners are rude and unfriendly. The food is dry, tasteless, and definitely not worth the high prices. On top of that, they do not accept card payments. We were not even allowed to refill our water bottles. When my friend went to use the toilet just a few minutes after me, she was refused, with the excuse that "the water had already frozen." I strongly suspect it was simply because she did not purchase anything. Overall, a terrible experience. Avoid this place entirely.

Run by a true grumpysaurus! Customers really are not welcome here. Terrible drinks in polystyrene cups like somewhere from the 1980s. We were a large group, but told to squeeze onto one small table. Did not accept card, only did things for their own convenience, would not fill up water bottles! We left as quickly as possible. Great view though!

Food is extremely underwhelming. Some watery soup and a piece of cheese and salami - not exactly cooking. Perhaps other people find the service charming but I found them extremely difficult. Ski down to the Edelweiss cafe - far far far better food, even in the casual version

A great place for some delicious food and drinks. The staff are attentive and helpful. Reservations are preferred. The lamb was delicious and presented well. Portion sizes are typical for Europe.

Stayed at the hotel for 6 days with dinner included, the half board. Breakfast was great and the dinners even more so. Wonderful and amazing dishes for example, zucchini and tomato soups, apricot sorbet and elevated coleslaw. Can't say enogh good things about restaurant. Nice hotel too.

For the dinner-included reservation, we had a 5-course meal effectively for 50 chf per person - that is a great deal for what you get. Food was good and plated beautifully. Having a dietary restriction was not great but they did their best to accommodate. Breakfast buffet is excellent.

Excellent food and wine selection! Had a tomato appetizer that was the best tomato dish I’ve ever had. It included a green tomato sorbet (not sweet) that was amazing.

The location of this restaurant requires you to walk through a front of house restaurant/bar and into a lower back area. The signage is a bit lacking in this regard. We had a nice dinner and really enjoyed the gnocchi. Unfortunately, our waitress fully disappeared - seemingly shuffled over to the other restaurant, and we had to ask more than once for the check to be provided (yes, we know this is something you have to ask for, but not usually more than once!)

We really enjoyed trying Swiss food for the first time here! Excellent service by friendly waitstaff and the candle light setting made for a lovely cosy ambience as well. We ordered the potato rosti with grilled vegetables and cheese (asked for no egg) & the autumn plate which featured spatzle, pumpkin, pear and mash. Both were excellent and highly enjoyable. Great spot for vegetarians in Zermatt! Do visit :)

We went there as it had a lot of vegetarian options and good outdoor seating ! Food was good, we tried Fondue , Rosti and few other food items. Wish our waitress would have been more warm/friendly! She came to ask to clean the plates even we didn’t finish food.

Mezze plate was wonderful. The hummus dip was so good! Entrees were okay, we had the Chili ravioli and the risotto. I don't think we will likely return, but it wasn't bad to try. Service was also quite slow.

We dined at Vegistube restaurant as guests of Hotel Pollux. As vegans, we were disappointed to find that the vegan options were extremely limited and showed little awareness of the importance of providing sufficient plant-based protein. Prior to our stay, we had been assured that many of the vegetarian dishes could be adapted to vegan, offering us a variety of choices — unfortunately, this was not the case. Despite our polite and clear requests — explaining that we could not eat the same limited dishes every day and that we needed adequate daily protein — we were told that the kitchen would not make any adjustments. The overall attitude felt dismissive, as though we were simply being told to “take it or leave it.” Additionally, the restaurant staff came across as unwilling to understand or help, which only reinforced the feeling that our needs were not taken seriously. That said, the vegan pea and zucchini soup was good.

Restaurant was a little hot (visited mid March) but otherwise very good experience! A little tough to find as it was in the basement of the building, but worth the hunt. We got the Greek naan pizza, the wokpfanne stir fry, and chocolate fondue. Delicious!

Fantastic location with an impressive variety of products. However, I was taken aback when an older male employee, possibly in his mid-60s with gray hair, shushed me mid-sentence and continued walking without acknowledging me. A bit more attentiveness and courtesy from the staff would elevate the shopping experience to match the excellence of the store itself.

In any ski village, we usually do not see two big supermarkets. But yes, in Zermatt! There to show the size of visitors in this destination! Twice, I have stayed in Zermatt—once with a kitchen and another without. It is a wiser choice to book an apartment with a kitchen for too many good reasons! It will be cost-saving throughout your stay (>3 days).

Very helpful staff. Stocked with all the regular grocery items, including a bakery section and to-go food items and snacks. Lots of Self check-out kiosks. They only take cards though. There is a cashier if you want to pay by cash.

Decent selection. Great to escape Zermatt's restaurant prices. Bought some two minute noodles to eat with a wine and Matterhorn views.

Unfriendly and unhelpful service despite our best efforts to be considerate and polite visitors (we needed help with weighing fruits and didn’t understand how they do it here). The person was needlessly and repeatedly shouting at us in German (luckily we understand some) but it surprised me since 95% of people here are tourists with no German, and we were being open, kind, and acting in good faith. Maybe they were having a bad day but no need to take it out on innocent people 😊

This supermarket is just opposite the tennis/skating rink ( season depending). Can get busy but has a nice range of pastries and coffee which is just as good as the local , more expensive, coffee shops.

This mid-mountain eatery is outstanding! Tucked downstairs from a grab and go cafe, this cozy restaurant offers great views, fantastic service and a cozy ambiance. Our group shared several bottles of local wine as well as delicious fresh bread, beef tartar, salmon tartar, black truffle fontina cheese gnocchi, and several desserts including tiramisu, apple strudel, caramel panna cotta and hot chocolate. Everything was extraordinary, but what really made our meal was our fantastic server! Thank you for an incredible experience!

There is self service upstairs and a true gastronomic restaurant downstairs. If you go there you will be served improbably delicious meals at this high altitude. The squid ink tortelli filled with shrimp and Burrata was a delight.

My son loves the tomato soup here. He says it was the best tomato soup he ever had. The soup was hot, thick and creamy and it was the best thing you can have in Winter.

This is the best soup ever!!! They even have a vegetarian option for those that prefer that! I stopped by on my way back to the hotel, and saw the soup joint. You see some of their ingredients front and center of the window glass to show you the freshness. Curious of it's offerings of what the meat soup listed was. The gentleman working there said it was chicken. You can never go wrong with a chicken soup, so I went ahead and ordered it. I also ordered an apple punch too. You would be doing yourself a disservice if you do not give their soup a try. The soup had SUCH GREAT FLAVOR!!!! And the apple punch too! I could go in a food coma eating their soup. Best soup ever!!!!

Absolutely delicious and hit the spot. We got their special, chili con carne, and it was superb. Their toppings, red chili flakes, creme, cheese, cilantro and chips added that extra kick and full spectrum of flavor. On a cold afternoon it was exactly what the doctor ordered. The gentleman helping us was very friendly too, chatting us up as he made our bowls. We loved it so much we came back for seconds the next day. It's affordable (Swiss standards) and they give you a healthy serving. Highly recommend!

I have travelled the world extensively over 40 years. I ate at all restaurants ranging from pop & mom’s to Michelin three stars. This is my honest review of the restaurant Arvenstube in the beautiful historic hotel Waldhaus on top of the hill at Sils Maria. The hotel kindly accepted to pick us up and drive us back to our different hotel in Sils Maria. Quite practical as the walk up/down hill in winter can be quite slippery. The hotel is amazing inside with lots of wood and musicians. Overall the food was very good but with a few hick-ups that were solved only after lengthy discussions with management of the restaurant. Indeed we had in particular to wait almost 1 hour between appetizer and main. The management ultimately did a gesture on the check.

We really enjoyed our meal here. The lamb was tender and delicious. The Zurich Style Veal with rosti was done really well as well. We were lucky and were able to dine here before they take a break until they reopen in the winter.

Went there during lunch time without reservation. The staff kindly requested us to wait for 30 mins to have my table ready. Very lovely and chatty staff. Feels very comfortable with them. This restaurant is located along one of the main street in Zermatt beside Hotel Pollux, very easy to find. The place is very cosy, clean, nicely decorated and homely. Food is good, you should try a variety of their offers. Highly recommended!!!!

Outstanding restaurant with friendly service and delicious high quality food. Charming atmosphere and the noise level allows one to have a quiet and normal conversation with your dinner guests. The restaurant is located in the lower level of the Pollux Hotel, so it can be a little difficult to find this restaurant from the exterior street. There is a web page for making a reservation and a wait list for reservations, which are highly recommended. The restaurant actually uses the wait list to fill the restaurant, rather than to manipulate the perceived demand for the restaurant. The tables are reasonably spaced apart for Covid-19 concerns.

The restaurant had a very nice ambience. It is located 1 floor below ground. The service was good. Staff speaks English and some other languages. All together a very nice experience.

Absolutely a hidden gem in Zermatt. Right away I was blown away by the herbal butter with dried tomatoes to go with the bread. We ordered all four main courses on the menu, each one of them tasted very different and delicious. Eating from one plate to another was like a harmony. Everything went well with each other. The veal cheek and the veal cutlet were just amazing; the veal was prepared in such a great way. The fish and the schupfnudeln were also amazing, with a lighter flavor compared to the other two. If you want to have a decent dinner in Zermatt, this is definitely the place to go... just go... I'm surprised that there aren't many people dining there. If you’re a Taiwanese like me 🇹🇼, show some love to this wonderful place.

We found this place through a Google search, and we are so pleased that we did! As foodies ourselves, we were really impressed with our whole experience. We had very friendly and bubbly service from Anna, who made great suggestions for our meal. And the mains were served by the chef himself, a personal touch we loved! The food itself was delicious - great flavours, and cooked to perfection. As recommended by Anna, the trout and the veal dishes were 10/10. We had such a great time, we returned later to purchase a gift voucher for friends. Keep up the amazing work EMMA!

My girlfriend Brittany and I recently dined at EMMA, a hidden gem off the main street in Zermatt, Switzerland. Sharing an entrance with a Chinese restaurant, this cozy spot offered a delightful surprise. The waitress (Anne-Marie) was exceptionally attentive and friendly, ensuring our dining experience was smooth and enjoyable. What truly set the evening apart was the chef's (Hannes) personal touch. He came out to introduce the dishes he prepared and checked in to see if we needed anything else. We started with the “homemade dried meat” as an appetizer, which was deliciously flavorful. For the main course, we had the “veal cutlet,” which was simply outstanding—one of the best I've ever tasted. EMMA is a must-visit for anyone looking for an unforgettable dining experience in Zermatt!

The restaurant is located just few metres away from Banhofstrasse, sharing the same entrance of an asian restaurant. One floor underground the atmosphere is cozy and private. We were introduced to our dinner with appetizers offered by the staff (bread + dried tomatoes and home-made butter and a stone plate served with delicious focaccia and fried polenta). As starters we tried two salads; one was a very special and filling spinach salad with poached eggs, crunchy focaccia, dried tomatoes and avocado sauce, while the other featured nuts, beetroot and goat cheese, very tasty and seasoned. For the main course we chose fried eagle fish filet and lamb cheek. Both dishes were delicious, the main ingredients were of high quality and perfectly accompanied by sides and sauces. Portions are quite abundant, so we were quite full and satisfied with our dinner. The service was fast, kind and attentive. We spent a total of 146 CHF which is completely adequate considering the location and the quality of the ingredients. We recommend this restaurant for an intimate dinner and for trying some local ingredients, but with a modern and sophisticated twist.

Dinner at Emma’s modern brasserie was one of the highlights of our trip to Zermatt. A hidden little nook under the China Garden restaurant right off of the main street, it’s not super easy to find, but oh so worth it if you do (you have to enter the China Garden restaurant and then go down the stairs to the right to find it). With a cozy atmosphere, subtle lighting and rustic decor, it was a pleasure to dine there. We were the first and only customers that night but you shouldn’t let that scare you off - the service was excellent and the food, absolutely delicious. The waitress was very friendly and attentive, sharing personal menu favorites with us and recommending different dishes. Even the chef personally came out several times to ensure everything was to our liking. A must- try is the “Apero a la Hannes,” a charcuterie board-type starter made with all local ingredients, paired with a glass of light and fruity local wine. My favorite was the unique and beautiful presentation of all of the dishes - a definite hats off to the chef. A 10/10 experience that is a must for anyone looking for excellent dining in Zermatt!!

It’s the most unpleasant bistro in my life. This is place where the staff doesn't care about the customer. Not one of the 4 meals was tasty. the soup is too salty. the fish consists of 80% batter. And only 20% - fish. the meat was spoiled, with a sour taste and a disgusting smell. It feels like they add a lot of salt to the food to hide the poor quality of it. the waiter behaved inappropriately. He screamed so loud, like his is insane. on our promise to leave a bad review- manager say “leave it. I don’t care” I don’t recommend this bistro if you don’t want to ruin the experience of Zermatt.

Service is friendly, but the menu is large and you can tell everything is microwaved. 30 Francs for a rösti, it's cheaper on the mountain. Avoid this place.

I ordered “iced coffee” but what I got was cold milk with coffee flavor (taste like instant coffee). I also asked water then she brought a glass of water which costed CHF 3.40!! They did not accept a credit card and I was forced to pay in cash. The price was CHF 23.80 and I paid 25. But she did not give me change. I did not intend to leave any tip because of the prices and the quality. I absolutely do not recommend this restaurant. The ice cream was good and the price is reasonable.

Very expensive for the quality you get. It cost us over 50 francs. I got the pork schnitzel, and it was very thick and burnt. The "seasonal vegetables" I got were carrots, brussel sprouts, and 1 piece of cauliflower. The brussel sprouts were a very weird texture and plain gross. I also ordered a hot chocolate, but what I got was a cup of hot milk and a packet of hot chocolate cocoa mix that I had to stir in myself. I appreciate the honesty in that they don't try to hide the fact that it's not high quality, but I've never experienced that before in my life. My boyfriend's rosti "Zermatt" was actually good, but my meal was kinda disappointing.

Average food and service but consider normal in Zermatt! WALLET WAS STOLEN while dining with jacket hanging on the back of the chair and no one sitting around me! Kind of strange to lose your wallet in front of your eye (wife sat opposite to me). Be very careful!!!
