Historical landmark
Nestled in the charming Rione Aia Piccola, this area is a serene escape where commercial activities take a backseat to residential life. With around 400 trulli dotting the landscape, many of these unique structures serve as homes for local families, while some are available for visitors seeking an authentic experience. As you stroll through the quiet streets, you'll encounter a mix of beautifully restored and some unrestored trulli that showcase distinct architectural styles.
Superb and peaceful!

So nice plase for visit.

(Translated by Google) The Aria Piccola district is a small neighborhood of inhabited trulli, small shops, bars, and restaurants in the center of Alberobello, Bari. Unlike the Monti district, it's a predominantly residential area, quieter and less crowded. Reaching it is a bit difficult if you're coming from the other district, due to some steep steps, but it's absolutely worth it! There are some truly beautiful spots and views, perfect for souvenir photos. Very charming and highly recommended for a visit to Alberobello; I suggest visiting during the week, around 9-11 am.

Great place with a nice views.

Visually stunning, but the experience felt far from authentic. Even in off-peak season and on rainy days, it was packed with tourists. The abundance of souvenir shops makes it feel more like a theme park than a genuine local town.

Charming and unique village, but crowded and touristy.. could make your itinerary if u stay in Matera for couple of days, not easy to find parking slot near the village.

Paco wines is a charming little wine bar in Alberobello, Italy where you can enjoy some excellent wines from the nearby vineyards. The wine bar has a great selection of wines to choose from, with everything from local white wines to reds and even sparkling wine. You can order food to go with your drink or just relax and enjoy the superb wine selection. Paco is a lovely guy who knows his stuff, and he's happy to share his recommendations with you.
Charming host who was generous with his time and insights explaining local produce including olives cheeses meats and wines. It's not a full menu restaurant, the menu is more like antipasti. There is a good wine selection including by the glass

Located off the main drag this cozy spot is *the* place to get a light lunch. You enter down some steps and are warmly welcomed. We were told about the menu and had any questions answered and more. We received some info about local wines and received an excellent pairing with our food selections. Amazing staff, excellent food. 6 out of 5.

If I could give more stars I would! Francesco and his colleagues will make your stay in the wine cellar a true happening. When you enter you are greeted with a lot of joy and immediately feel welcome. The wine tasting (1/2 or full glasses) is a great way of tasting many different local wines for a good price. All products are local, and the quality of both the wines as well as the food is amazing. I would for sure recommend the cold cut and cheese platter, it comes with amazingly beautiful bread and will be a great lunch to share. The wines are great, Francesco has a lot of knowledge and will cater to your every need and preference. Don't forget to bring some wine, olive oil or other products back home to enjoy! Francesco, you and your colleague are a true master of hospitality and a great example of Italian passion for food, wine and people.

Just spent a wonderful few hours at Pacos with Franchesco and team. Atmosphere and knowledge of wines was great and tasted many wines. I highly recommend visiting this wine bar to get a taste of the best local wines and food. Small and quaint and you’ll be sure to make new friends there. Thank you.

We stopped at Paco Wines in Alberobello to ask for recommendations on a nice dry local white wine, and the experience was excellent. The man running the shop was very friendly, welcoming, and served us with a smile. He offered us tastings, explained the differences between wines, and made us feel comfortable even though we’re not wine experts. You can tell he truly enjoys his work and sharing his knowledge, which made the experience even more enjoyable. A great place to discover local wines — definitely recommend! We left with a super bottle of white as well as rose for a very reasonable price !

Highly recommend this wine bar! Incredible service with a very knowledgeable host who even provided a customised wine tasting based on our palette. Great cold meats platter and atmosphere. Gluten free snacks available, huge plus!

Our evening at Paco Wines was a true highlight of our time in Alberobello. Francesco was such a great host and took wonderful care of us and gave us such an education in local wines. You can tell he loves what he does! The truffle-infused buffalo mozzarella will also change your life!

Definitely the place to go when in the area beautiful dining rooms wonderfully plated and tasty dishes along with incredibly good wine service we didn’t expect this in such a touristy town. Looking forward to returning.

One of the best restaurants of Alberobello, situated in a real Trullo with refined plates and cuisine, very clean and with well equipped tables. The dishes were all tasty especially la pasta ed i contorni! Nice location just in the city center!
ENTELA F — Google review
Very nice atmosphere, was advised by a local agency and there was no regret. You have to book at least one week in advance. Food was very tasty and there was an option for the little one (3years) that they launched immediately when we arrived.
Isabelle M — Google review
It’s pretty impressive. The lobster is cooked like a salad, and the tomato is really juicy. In honesty, the dessert is very bad, not like normal ice cream. Overall, I still recommend this restaurant.
周綺綺 — Google review
Service was pretty slow and we were relegated to a table far away all to ourselves, and away from the bustle of the rest of the crowd oddly. It was hard to get the waiter's attention as a result. They had some unique dishes which were alright. Some hits and misses - we didn't enjoy the raviolo but for the rest of the dishes, we thought they were good. Dessert was fantastic though.
S. F — Google review
3/5 Stars. Decent place. All around quite average; food, service. Location is fun though, its inside trullo. Pasta orecchiette was ok, not really al dente, and ravioli was seriously overcooked.

Il Trullo d’Oro was a lovely surprise. The food was good, but what really stood out was the purple dessert decorated with flowers, beautiful to look at and absolutely delicious. It felt special and unique, definitely the highlight of the evening. Cozy atmosphere and attentive service made the experience even more enjoyable.

Simply the best food I've eaten during my one week holidays in the pugliese region. I was sad that I couldn't go more than once ! Usually I find the pastas to be good, but here, it was excellent. The food was super fresh, super tasty, the service was great, they cared a lot, the ambiance was friendly yet professional. I felt a bit like at home, like a guest it is nice to have. I couldn't recommend it more. I will come back for sure.

Breakfast restaurant
Così Com’era is a charming restaurant known for its all-inclusive breakfast and brunch menu. The a la carte offerings feature a delightful blend of local specialties and international flavors. Guests can savor Puglia-style milk-free pancakes with fresh seasonal ingredients, omelettes made with eggs from free-range hens, as well as an array of sweet treats like biscuits, doughnuts, freshly baked cakes, and homemade yogurt with muesli.
A stylish spot in the heart of the city with a wide variety of dishes. We tried the pancakes and the omelette — both were delicious! We had to wait a bit for a table, as the outdoor seating was full, and service was a little slow. We visited around 10–11 AM, so it might be busier during that time. Still, a lovely place worth checking out.
Katarína F — Google review
The food was great, but the best thing about this place was the staff. Our waiter spoke English and the other staff were patient enough to wait for us whilst we used translation apps. Comparatively, other businesses in the area, will not do the same, which is a shame. Anyway, these guys are great and down to earth. The food was delicious, reasonably priced, and the interior of the building was cool. Old stone with a tree like chandelier. Great spot for breakfast. Will be back during our stay this week. The building was beautiful
Brent B — Google review
Food was really good, top ingredients and attention to details. Service could improve, as we had to wait quite a while to get their attention and part of the order was missing. The high season with a lot of tourists lining up at the entry might have contributed to the pressure. Overall a good experience and the prices are correct. Book your table in advance!
Michael V — Google review
Nice place with tasty food. We tried the brunch and the vegan option and everything was delicious. The stuff is also very friendly. It is a bit overcrowded in the morning, so make sure you reserve a table in advance. Or just go around noon, as we did. It was peaceful and we could enjoy our meal.

Pizza restaurant
If you're on the hunt for a delightful pizza experience in Alberobello, look no further than Pizzeria Basilico Rosso. Nestled conveniently near your accommodation, this charming pizzeria offers an impressive array of toppings that cater to both traditionalists and adventurous eaters alike. While dining hours may differ from what some might expect—locals tend to dine later in the evening—the atmosphere is warm and inviting.
Genuinely one of the nicest pizzas we’ve had during our Italian road trip! As we are English (speaking extremely little Italian) and the restaurant is on the outskirts of Alberobello, we weren’t sure how welcoming the staff would be but we approached and tried our very best to greet, explain we wanted takeaway, and order in Italian. The staff seemed to appreciate it and were very friendly and welcoming. The guy on the till who took the order had such a big smile the whole time we were there ☺️ We ordered one fiorita, one salsiccia e porcini and one pistachio cheesecake. 10 minutes total to order, watch the pizzas get made fresh right in front of us, cook in the wood fired oven and leave, fantastic service. The flavour and texture of both pizzas was spot on! Great amount of toppings and cooked perfectly. The cheesecake was tasty but not a cheesecake haha. Maybe a deconstructed cheesecake or more so a pistachio mousse with a biscuit crumb, nevertheless it tasted good! We did feel the opening times were odd (not opening until 8pm) but that seems to be the Italian way, as we were leaving there were lots of people arriving who all sounded Italian so that’s always a good sign. We will definitely be eating here again before we leave Alberobello. Thanks to all the staff at Basilico Rosso

The Italian restaurant "Terra Madre" is a charming place which cultivates many ingredients directly on site. Located in a beautiful trullo just steps from the delightful Plaza Sacramento, the culinary attention of the restaurant and simple, regional food full of flavor grown locally is highly appreciated. Options for savory dishes like stuffed artichokes, handmade pasta with broccoli, anchovies and pistachios with dessert including delicious crumble cake full of fresh farm-produced cheese are available.
I saw some bad reviews, but to us (my wife and I) this was the best meal we had in Italy. And we came to Italy a few times before. The food was amazing, it almost made me consider to become vegetarian (kidding of course). I definitely suggest the tasting menu. 7 dishes, every single one was a different culinary trip. We are considering to revisit the area just to eat here again. Wow!
Cristian N — Google review
Solid 4, food is good but overall is highly priced for what it offers. Don’t expect fine dining, rather a beautiful and tasty sequence of veggie entrances with fresh ingredients and simple preparation. Wine degustation was the biggest flaw. Charging 16€ for 2 glasses of average wine is too much. There were good wine options by the bottle, but for pairing there was only 1 type of each style, both red and white ones were nothing special to justify charging 8€ each. I asked the eggs as complimentary dish (10€ on top of the 35€ veggie set), and it came a very simple, slightly overcooked fried eggs. You pay for the experience, but would not charge so much for those complements.
Pedro M — Google review
Trust me - make your reservation and go here!! Fantastic meal and service! We sat outside in the back by the Chef’s garden. Super romantic! We chose the 7 vegetarian tasty menu plus one main dish. The main dishes did include ones with a meat protein. The vegetarian dishes are made with produce from the chef’s garden. Every dish was awesome with some highlights that we just loved, including a fried egg with smoked burrata and tomatoes & cucumbers, and a custard & cherry tart. If Trattoria Terra Madre could ship that tart to our house in the U.S., we would be super appreciative :-) Of course I forgot to take a photo of these two dishes that we loved but here are photos some of the veggie dishes. We would truly return back to this delicious place.

We arrived just over 9pm while the restaurant is supposed to close at 10pm, they're very kind to welcome us, provide us enough time to consider what to order. We ordered one set of 7 vegetables plus 1 dish to share between two of us, and we were super full! The house wine is also very reasonable, enjoyed the vibe from this beautiful restaurant

Casual dining room overlooking backyard vegetable garden. They just do 7 vegetable tasting menu (35€) + choice of 8 meat and pasta dishes (10€) Fantastic dinner! Spinach salad with pomegranates, beet shreds and crunchy fava beans in balsamic and local extra virgin olive oil. Chick pea puree.Peppers w/ olives capers breadcrumbs. Swiss chard with cherry tomatoes. Smoked eggplant parmigiana Stewed onion with sunflower seeds and marmalade. Carrot flan. Had pasta w mushrooms and pumpkin sauce.
David N — Google review
After travelling through Puglia for a week, my friends and I were kind of done with pasta and meat. This trattoria was the perfect cure for that with the wonderful 7 course veggie tasting menu. We loved every course, so thoughtfully created with seasonal fresh produce. Also the custard and cherry tart may have been one of the best desserts I have ever had! The ambience and space is also super bright and beautiful with a strong farm to table vibe. 10/10 - would highly recommend and can’t wait to go back and eat there again!
Juhi B — Google review
Don’t miss out. Delicious food. Especially if you want vegetarian. Beautiful vegetable garden. Farm to table. They have their own farm a few km away.
Davina C — Google review
Here’s the problem. I want to tell you how horrible this place is so that you don’t go and ruin it and becomes overcrowded but the fact is this farm table restaurant is an absolute gem in a genuinely tourist infested trap. I can’t believe I found this place I have the vegetarian tasting menu and my taste buds exploded and blew out of my mouth with joy and excitement. The chef is a master and sitting at a table while you’re looking at the actual Garden where they came from is an unbelievable privilege and treat

Hole in the wall tiny place but the focacceria sandwich is amazing the bread is very fresh and hot, crusty, good chewy texture and delicious meats/veggies stuffed inside, really hits the spot after walking the area. I had no prior knowledge about pucce. The guy at the counter was very friendly and not rude at all, contrary to what other reviews say. He patiently explained everything, and I ended up ordering their pucce with local ham and mozzarella, which was delicious. I highly recommend this place.

La Lira Focacceria is a small but charming spot with only a few outdoor tables — just four in total — giving it a cozy, local feel. You order and pick up your food at the counter, which makes it quick and casual. Despite its simplicity, everything here is delicious and freshly made, and the prices are very reasonable. It’s the kind of place where you can enjoy authentic flavors without spending too much, perfect for a relaxed lunch or snack. A great find for anyone who loves honest, tasty food in a laid-back setting!

We were a little bit hesitant, so we asked for help and get recommended a local traditional food, puccia. We asked for a little biz extra ruccola. It was very delicious. The service was very good, and they were really helpful.

The focaccia is nice and crispy, and the man selling it is the sexiest I have ever seen. Visited 2023 and then 2025, and buying from him, especially when he turns his eyes on you, is still an intense experience.

We were recommended to come here for for the local Alberobello sandwich Pasqualino. Confusingly it wasn’t on the menu. But the charming staff told us that it can be made freshly within 5 minutes, so we ordered it and loved it! The bread was freshly toasted nice and warm and crispy. I thought it would be a light lunch, but the portion was generous. I was full afterwards.😍

It's in the tourist square but this is really good, authentic food. We tried 4 different items between 3 people and they were all fantastic. The bread is really well made and the staff are very friendly and helpful in explaining the differences. I also bought some baked biscuits and they are fantastic, and made in an older way that you don't see anymore especially outside of Italy.

Ice cream shop
Bar & grill
Arte Fredda in Alberobello, Italy is a popular gelato spot that has been serving delicious Italian ice cream for over 20 years. It's a perfect place to cool off during the town's hot summers. The gelateria offers a variety of seasonal flavors, such as grapefruit and watermelon in the summer and roast chestnut and persimmon in the winter. Visitors praise the friendly owner and recommend trying the chestnut ice cream.
excellent ice cream and coffee! I took the lemon flavor and I was delighted, real lemon without sugar and additional sweeteners. I really enjoyed eating it. my friend took the oreo flavor and the biscuit pieces were inside, real oreos, not some substitutes. the waitresses were very nice, I tried to order in Italian and they were immediately smiling and approachable. it was crowded, we barely got a table, you have to go inside yourself, order and take it to the table, you can wait in line to order. but I didn't mind waiting when I tried that excellent gelato.
Petra L — Google review
The ice creams were moderate, the sweets were no fresh, the cups of coffee were dirty. There were a lot of people so we thought that it would be good. But it was not.Althought was almost the only shop with shadow.I do not suggest it.
ΕΥΗ Π — Google review
I had the pistachio and pomegranate gelato, real flavours and not to sweet. It was so good we went back and tried another pistachio and added cassata flavour. You van really taste the pistachio pieces. Very nice treatment by Katie.
Yaxiel A — Google review
WORST EVER! Avoid this place! I threw my ice cream away at the nearest bin outside the shop, which I never thought would happen in Italy. Ice cream is literally frozen water with colorants. It melts completely in less than 1 minute, you need to sip it if there is anything left. Incredibly bad. I cannot believe the 5 star reviews, I would give it -5 if I could.
Iulia P — Google review
Real gelato, great flavors and also good pastries
Dana L — Google review
The worst gelato I have had in the entirety of Italy. The gelato was icy and did not have a creamy texture. The pistachio was particularly bad, which is usually the hallmark of a good gelato place.
Felicia D — Google review
The ice cream was decent. I got the stracciatella and caffè. I came around 5pm and there was a rush. They were able to manage the rush pretty well. And the lady who served me was nice enough to setup the credit card machine even if she initially motioned for cash. They were quick but not rude. She took the time to ask me if I wanted 2 flavors instead of just one. The tables outside were clean and there was always someone who wiped it with disinfectant in between customers. AMEX cards accepted.

Doesn't care about clients. Closed a shop while group of people were ordering some ice cream

At Pane e Mozza, you’ll discover a delightful blend of tradition and modernity in the heart of Apulia. This charming eatery showcases the artistry of master cheesemakers who utilize family recipes to create exquisite dairy products at their Sapori delle masserie farm in Putignano.
I had the pleasure of visiting Pane Mosaico during my trip to Alberobello, and it was an unforgettable experience! The atmosphere is charming and welcoming, with the bakery offering a delightful variety of freshly baked breads, pastries, and local delicacies. The quality of the products is exceptional – you can taste the passion and care that goes into every item. The staff was friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home. Whether you're looking for a quick snack or a beautiful souvenir to take home, Pane Mosaico is the perfect spot. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Alberobello!

Great and simply sandwiches! I thought they would be bigger, but you can order two. It’s very fair price and also good frozen desserts. You can buy their pesto and spicy pepper and tomater paste, and also local pasta. Seating inside had air conditioning, and you can charge your phone. Toilet was clean and very accessible. Staff was nice and very helpful

Our experience at Paninoteca Pane e Mozza in Alberobello was fantastic! The staff were incredibly friendly, and we even shared a funny moment when I mistakenly asked for 'bamba' on my panini, which is slang for a white drug, instead of 'bomba a crema' (crushed hot peppers). Everyone had a good laugh! The patio in the pedestrian-only area was the perfect spot for a relaxing lunch. The paninis were fresh and flavorful, and the accompanying wine was simply delightful. A great spot for a casual, memorable meal in Alberobello. Saluti

Being in Alberobello in winter, this was one of the few places that was open and had a lot of local people inside. We decided to go in and try one of the sandwiches that were made with ingredients of our choice. Everything was fresh and very tasty. Very nice service. Good coffee. Very attractive prices. I highly recommend

Best sandwich spot in Puglia! I’ve tried many different places for sandwiches during my time in Puglia, but this one was by far my favorite. The staff were really friendly, and the mortadella sandwich was perfectly crunchy and packed with flavor. Also the cappuccino with soy milk was great. I’ll definitely be coming back next time I’m in Alberobello!

Pizzeria Arboris Belli is a great place to go for a pizza in Alberobello. It's got a remote location, but it's worth it for the delicious food. The chef is able to speak English and he was happy to help with the menu. The service was good and the restaurant appeared to be very popular.
Lovely Pizzeria offering takeaway and sit in! Great for larger groups with nice garden outdoor area for warmer nights. Hidden away out of the hustle and bustle of Alberobello - popular with locals.

Bar
Cico il Bacaro is a charming bar located just minutes from the historic center in Alberobello. It offers an impressive selection of gins and cocktails, making it a great choice for those who prefer something other than wine or beer. The snacks, especially the bruschetta, are described as sensational. Despite its small size, the bar leaves a big impression with its finely crafted cocktails and delicious meat/cheese board at reasonable prices.
Really fun vibe, with tbh decently priced cocktails for Alberobello. They played 80s classics all night. Camp. Think Depeche Mode, Tina Turner, U2. Seemed to be a LGBT+ friendly place. The vibe is nice for couples, singles, and groups, it just exuded the kind of neighborhood place that welcomes foreigners and isn't too pretentious. I didn't quite understand how the food worked - only one table was getting food all night, and the worker there sort of never stopped slicing ham and cheese and toasting bread for this one table... was it some kind of unlimited deal? No one else got food, but they also weren't taking orders (Shrug). Nonetheless, it is a very small space with maybe 10-12 chairs total, which sort of spills out into the area in front near some city benches. A plus of this is all the locals walking their dogs seem to stop and say hi to people drinking here. Out of the 6 or 7 places I visited in Alberobello during my stay, this is the one place I would go back to because the drink options, music, and vibe were all really fun. Because of how tight the space is, I don't think it is super wheelchair accessible, but the servers will bring drinks to you, so it is possible to drink outside of the bar without having the wheel inside.

(Translated by Google) We spent a few days in a trullo here and got the tip from our hotel owner. He said that's where the locals go. Exactly what we are looking for. It is a butcher shop with a guest room. About 10 tables and kept simple but clean. You choose your meat in the store and it is then prepared. We had a Florentine steak. Gigantic, 1Kg. Plus 7 meat rolls, bratwurst, a huge bowl of homemade fries, 1 liter of wine, house starter and grappa. There were only two of us and we almost burst. But the steak, which came on a hot stone, was one of the best we have ever eaten. A real treat and huge praise. We were there again the next day. The prices: cheap. (Original) Wir haben hier ein paar Tage in einem Trullo verbracht und haben den Tipp von unserem Hotelbesitzer erhalten. Er sagte, dorthin gehen die Einheimischen. Genau was wir suchen.

Characterized by their conical roofs and whitewashed walls, these charming structures date back to the 14th century and were originally built as temporary shelters for farmers. The architectural style is not only visually striking but also practical; the thick limestone walls help keep interiors cool during hot summers.
