Restaurant
Nestled in a 16th-century cellar with charming wood beams and a vaulted ceiling, Le Caveau Restaurant offers a delightful blend of English and French cuisine. Once a prison for Craven Districts felons and sheep rustlers, the restaurant now prides itself on sourcing high-quality seasonal Yorkshire produce with a French twist.
We dined here in December, it was amazing, the food was to die for, the service was exceptional and the ambience was perfect. I would highly recommend it. We will return when back in Skipton.

Awesome dining experience in the finest restaurant in the area. A beautiful restaurant in a very historic interesting building which adds to the ambiance of the place. The food is to die for and represents superb value for money. 💴 had ham hock fritters to start, followed by shin of beef and then rhubarb and ginger cheesecake to finish. Highly recommend anyone to try big your wanting a first class dining experience.

Blown away by the tasting menu and wine flight. A birthday treat for me, my husband and friends were delighted to be forced to enjoy a 6 course meal ; I’m counting the canapés as a course as they were spectacular. We’ve been a few times here and it consistently delights! Highly recommend. I peaked at the other tables and the chateaubriand and the soft shell crab looked amazing too, so we will have to go back very soon! Fabulous service, great chef and excellent wine. Thank you for a great evening La Caveau

Visited last night for my partners birthday. What an incredible experience both front of house staff amazing 👏 food was exceptional and great value for money, as we were leaving we were speaking to the waiter to find out there was on 1 chef in that night. Hats off to him we had one of the nicest meals we've had in a very long time.

An oasis in the high street. Booking is highly reccomended to avoid disappointment. Mark and the team make your visit 1 to remember serving amazing food and wine with excellent service. We have just enjoyed a taster evening and the pictures show the delights we were fed. Beautiful flavours were accompanied by carefully selected wines on each course. A fabulous evening leaving us well sated and ready for bed.

Beautiful food; innovative menu and well executed. Cosy and charming atmosphere with the limited number of tables and being underground. Very affable and efficient service.

Seriously the best meal I've had in years. The Muscles were to die for and the Hake was absolutely delicious. Going back in December before we go to Australia.

Located in the heart of Skipton, Le Bistro Des Amis is a popular restaurant known for its blend of French and Yorkshire cuisine. The menu offers a mix of traditional French dishes with a local twist, and the restaurant also hosts themed evenings. On Sundays, diners can enjoy a fixed-price menu with options for one, two, or three courses.
What an experience. It was recommended to us by a member of staff at a bar. We did some research prior and were very pleased it met all our expectations on the amazing food. Located just off the main street it offers a mix of French and Yorkshire cuisine. Highly recommend booking.

Lovely little spot, easy to find too! Warm and inviting, with soft french jazz music playing in the background. The members of staff were friendly, welcoming and attentive. The food was great - the beef brisket from the main menu, was beautifully tender and the wine menu was excellent too with a lot choices! I dined alone as I was here for work and in some places that can feel "uncomfortable/awkward" but not here. Thank you for a lovely experience, I will definitely bring my family for dinner here when I'm back next.

We booked out the upstairs room for a meal for a surprise Wedding Anniversary party. Honestly it was amazing. The staff were extremely friendly and efficient and went above and beyond for us. The food was absolutely delicious, every single one of us enjoyed our meal and everything ran really smoothly even with 45 of us on a super busy Saturday evening. Could not fault anything at all and they were a huge part of an amazing celebration for us! Couldn’t recommend this restaurant enough!!

Came along for Sunday lunch . Great staff and food was fantastic.. dropped a glass of wine my accident replaced straight away .. not many places do this .. meet the owner very friendly I be coming back a lot.. god knows why I never popped in more often..

Safe to say that this is one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. We were a party of 4, and everyone really enjoyed their starters and mains. Service was excellent and food was out of this world, especially my seafood money bag (pictured) and great value at £24 for two courses on a Sunday. Thank you for a fabulous experience! Highly recommended.

Amazing French gem in the heart of Skipton. The service was A class with a very relaxing and friendly atmosphere. The food was very delicious and tasty. Only comment is there was so much oil involved. However, a 10/10 experience.
Ahmed F — Google review
3 of us arrived for lunch, place was busy but, thankfully, there was space. Food was lovely and desserts more than expected. Service could not have been better, friendly to the end even though we were the last to leave. (There was 30 years of catching up to do.)

Visited beautiful Skipton for the weekend and booked a table of four at le bistro. My wife ordered the steak medium rare. Medium rare it not!….to be fair it was changed for another but was worse and even the steak knife wouldn’t cut it. They claim to use local produce?…..well not the meat I suggest. The most disappointing aspect is the young staff were out of their depth and having complained twice no one more experience had the courtesy to come to the table. Either too embarrassed or incompetent. By contrast the Castle Inn the night before were amazing. Maybe swap staff for a night?

Fish & chips restaurant
Bizzie Lizzie's on Swadford Street is a family-run restaurant known for its delicious, award-winning fish and chips. Their cod and haddock are responsibly sourced, meeting the standards of the Responsible Fisheries Management Programme. The menu offers various dietary options including gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan, vegetarian, pescatarian, and calorie-counted choices. With two branches in Skipton, diners can enjoy their meal in the heart of historic Skipton or overlooking the canal.
The service here was impeccable. As we walked in we were greeted by lovely staff, a chirpy chippy ‘Paul’ led us to our table by the window, which we were kindly offered with canal view. His knowledge of the menu was great. The food was beautifully served. And with a smile. I would highly recommend this place not only for the food but the hospitality from all the staff. The place is clean.

Nice chips and fish was done lovely, waiter was lovely very professional at her role, beans where luke warm so refund on the beans was issued can't complain regarding that. Would recommend.
Chris C — Google review
We've both just the most amazing meal at Bizzie Lizzie's this evening. We we're greeted as we entered the eating area and seated immediately. I ordered large battered haddock with salad. Nice batter on the succulent haddock and not greasy at all and the salad was crispy and fresh. The staff were busy but super friendly. Nothing was to much trouble, for any of them. The young girl who shone through was called Keira. She was super efficient in all her tasks she carried out whilst we were there, especially when taking an order and making an extra special effort to get it exactly right. Worth every penny for this service. Won't hesitate to call again when we're next in the area. Thank you Bizzie Lizzie's.
Corene H — Google review
Superb Fish & Chips with excellent service. The staff were very polite and looked after us well. If you fancy something different there is chicken goujons, Yorkshire pudding with beef, plenty of fish options. We had the breaded plaice and the battered haddock both with chips and bread and butter. The mushy peas and curry sauce topped it of nicely. Super portions, very tasty and all overlooking the canal.
Nick T — Google review
Downstairs it's a chippy upstairs is a lovely restaurant. The fish and chips with a pot of tea hit the spot. The service was great as was the food. Will call again when next in Skipton.

Lovely. The girls are friendly, polite and professional. Food is fresh and delicious. And a good strong pot of tea. We ll be back.

I have three hours in Skipton (Coach tour) was shown to a table in this fish restaurant 22 minutes ago. Have to call someone over to place my order, they seem to have forgotten about me. As you can see Lizzie's is not that Busy today. Also the door is wide open and I'm sitting in a terrible draft. Still no signs of food after 30 minutes. This is not a good experience at all. The response below is not in tune with my recollection, even if I am old. I made return visit on 1st June 2025 having travelled from Tyneside. My experience today was very happily the extreme opposite of my first visit. Service was blisteringly fast from a very pleasant young lady. I have no hesitation in suggesting you come here for a very tasty fish and chip lunch. The picture of my empty plate should tell you all you need to know about the quality of the food.
Graham R — Google review
I used to come here as a child (before it was Bizzie Lizzie's) with my grandparents. They were always advocates of good batter. I'm delighted to say that under a (now not-so-) new name, it's still every bit as good. Food quality is as high as anywhere I've been, the staff were friendly and efficient, and the atmosphere exactly as it should be for the traditional experience of proper fish and chips. My rather picky-eater son polished off the lot without any difficulty, which says much. It has become for us an annual pilgrimage.

We had a lovely family meal here for our daughters birthday, the service was spot on, always checking if we needed any more drinks but not too over powering. There is s great choice of food to please everyone and a fab kids menu too. Prices are really reasonable. There is also a great little kids play area if they get a bit bored.

Great food, served in a timely manner, but HUGE portions!! I made the mistake of ordering a starter and then couldn't manage my main! To be fair, when I was placing the order, the server did ask "if I was really hungry"!! Whilst I couldn't fault the food or the service, I'd be wary that multiple courses are probably not advisable (and not required to leave you feeling full). Personally, I'd rather have smaller portions to enable me to have more courses and to try different foods.
Andy B — Google review
Had a brilliant time at this place, fun venue, friendly staff and great food. A colleague even sang happy birthday and brought me ice cream! Would love to go back

We always pay a visit when we visit Skipton every year. Food was delicious again. No Mediterranean chicken so opted for pollo peppercorn chicken. Delicious and tasty full of flavour. The steak fajitas were delicious too, loads of steak, onions and peppers. Give this place a try if you haven’t been yourself won’t be disappointed. July (17.7.25)

First time visiting on a Saturday lunch time. Visited with my 6 year old. Staff were really friendly and helpful. The restaurant itself was quite at 12:00 (opening time). The kids pizza was a good size (and too much for the 6 year old!) It eas slightly greener on top thanks to the pepperoni, but that's a common thing with pepperoni (which my kid loves!). I ordered the Stromboli and whilst it was delicious it was also massive, especially for a lunch time! A smaller lunch menu would have been useful I think! All in all very positive experience. Only thing I would say is that the pirate theme isn't overly heavy, it's only a decor and style thing. The waitresses weren't dressed as pirates or anything, so if you're expecting g a fully immersion pirate experience just be aware of this also. Edit: 2nd visit, this time on a Thursday early evening with wife and 6 year old. Very quite again but the staff are lovely and the food is fantastic. They were wonderful with our 6 year old, chatting away with her and also sung happy birthday to my wife. Very pleasant experience, can't recommend highly enough. (Note: chimichanga was a winner!)
Ric O — Google review
Very friendly staff, amazing food and lovely restaurant. Will definitely return. Food portion was HUGE and so so tasty.
Mandy J — Google review
This was a brilliant restaurant for dinner, with a pirate theme really helping us feel welcome! This is done through the ropes like those of a pirate ship connected to the ceiling, the green plants and even netting on the sides. Staff were friendly and the counter is nicely lit, they even gave us our bill in a treasure box at the end of the meal. I had the CJ Signature burger which was so big and the toppings were packed with taste, chips were quality and cranberry juice was a refreshing drink to balance out!

Turkish restaurant
We discovered a delightful new Turkish restaurant called Efendy in Skipton, and it comes highly recommended. The menu offers a wide range of delectable dishes, and our party of six thoroughly enjoyed their choices. One appetizer that stood out was the deep-fried goats cheese starter, which was both special and one of the vegetarian options available – it was not only delicious but also beautifully presented. Additionally, they had an appealing assortment of desserts to choose from.
Brilliant authentic Turkish restaurant in Skipton. Great choices on the menu, with lots of variety and choice for all. Yakut red wine is excellent. Cheers!! Just been back and food & service still excellent!!

A very warm place, and the staff and employer are always friendly helpful . It’s also a very clean place. The portion sizes and the taste of the food are excellent. I definitely recommend it
Umut S — Google review
Having recently moved to Skipton, we'd done the online scouting of best eateries, and had seen Efendy was right up near the top. After dinner last night, I can see why Between 3 of us we shared two Mixed Grill Platters and the Chicken Fajitas, and everything was absolutely spot on. Beautifully marinated meat, all flavoursome and complimentary to one another, the little side touches such as the dipping sauce and the tzarziki, and not an overbearing amount of food. Although we were fairly stuffed, we just had to try the desserts, with the homemade Baklava and the Chocolate Orange Brownie Cake (I forget it's proper name 😂) both beautifully tasty. An absolute must visit in Skipton

Wow - what a great surprise! Arrived at Skipton with no plans on where to eat but were lucky enough to find Efendy (near the castle) who could accommodate us with no booking despite the restaurant looking full. Great choice of food, excellent lamb dishes. The service felt personal and we were really well looked after. Will certainly visit again when in the area. Really good!

Nestled in the charming market town of Skipton, The Woolly Sheep Inn is a quintessential Yorkshire pub offering warm and cozy rooms, a restaurant serving quality homecooked food, and a rustic pub with a lounge featuring a fireplace. This traditional inn is known for its range of Timothy Taylors ales and its popular Sunday roast, which includes five types of meat along with a vegetarian option, all served with their signature sides.
We didn’t stay overnight but we had an evening meal. There were five of us. The food was excellent. Lots of choice. There was a very limited vegan/ vegetarian choice. I ate the veggie burger - which was a crispy Portobello mushroom. It was absolutely delicious. We all really enjoyed our meals. Two gammon and two steak pies. There’s a large covered beer garden at the rear - which everyone was smoking and vaping in. The service was very good. I would recommend booking a table, especially on a Saturday evening. We also had five delicious espresso martinis! Thank you

My wife and I had lunch and it was good. The food was all fresh and there was plenty great value for money. My wife had a beef sandwich and I had a salad. Both dishes were good. My salad was one of the best I have had. A great selection of cask beers of which I sampled a few, as it would have been rude not to. All were very good, too good really 😀. The staff are friendly and helpfull. Would I return and recommend. Definitley. If you like my honest review please follow me, as I review on a regular basis.

In Skipton. An old town pub. Steps up to door and inside so care needed for some, but worth the effort. Timothy Taylor's beer and good food. We just wanted a drink with soup and a roll. We were allowed to sit in the restaurant, time was no problem, the soup was home made and very good. Good value for money.

Popped in for lunch on a Wednesday afternoon, having stopped by for a pint the week previous. You can tell straight away that the Woolly Sheep has had a lot of high end, refurbishment, and it compliments the building and surroundings exceptionally. Service is brisk and friendly, and the food menu offers variety without being overpriced. Both sets of starters and mains were very enjoyable, presented well, and the exact right amount of food. A definite recommendation for anyone in and around Skipton
Ben M — Google review
Please note I didn't stay there I just had a meal and drinks in there. The inn is very welcoming it is clean and tidy with friendly staff. We had already booked a table so we know we weren't going to be placed outside. We ordered from the menu 2 Denver steaks and a bottle of white wine. Or steaks and were absolutely amazing, cooked to perfection 1 med , 1 med well they tasted amazing and melted in the mouth. I was so hungry I forgot to take a photo to show. And the completely empty plate at the end was proof. So I definitely recommend this place to stop off and eat.
Carl P — Google review
I was looking for a 'proper pub' for a family meal cross 3 generations and came across The Woolly Sheep via a Google search. It rated highly, with lots of reviews so we opted for it as the location for the get together. We spent 3 hours in the pub, the service was spot on, the beer was great and the food exceeded expectations. Great time had by all and we will be returning soon.
Mark D — Google review
Comfortable room well furnished, reasonably quiet considering it's above a pub and our room was facing the town centre. Excellent breakfast but it finished at 9.30am. OK for early risers but not after a late night, ample free private parking at the rear access through a barrier. The only slight problem was many staircases best to travel light if you stay here. Or if you struggle with stairs.
Jo L — Google review
We had our pre wedding day meet up here last weekend with an evening meal for 19 guests. As always, the service and food was exceptional. Staff are always friendly and attentive and the food is delicious. We always visit the Woolly Sheep when we come to Skipton and it never disappoints.

We had a great meal on Sunday evening. Tasty food, very efficient service, nothing was too much trouble, and the bonus of children eating for £1 on Sunday's is a great perk too. The children declared their pizza's were delicious and better than pizza express! Thanks for a lovely evening.

Lovely atmosphere, we were served by a gentleman called Shane who was absolutely wonderful and really went above and beyond in his service, we had our dog with us as well and they were more than happy to let us sit outside with him though we did also have the option to sit inside downstairs with him. The food was really tasty, cooked to perfection and arrived really speedily. Even though it was a bank holiday Sunday we didn't need to book a table and it wasnt too busy either. Kids eat for £1 on Sundays too which was a great bonus!

Came to visit for my b'day so being on a strict diet I did a search for mixed grills in Skipton & after reading the online menu for this restaurant I couldn't wait to book it. Alas, on arrival I checked the menu to find no mixed grill mentioned. Over the telephone the owner told the staff to ask me if I'd looked at the current menu? I was looking online, how was I meant to know if the menu liated wasn't the current menu? Now the food was great and the staff were even better, so my advice would be to check the menu your looking at is current before booking. FOR THE OWNER PLEASE BE AWARE, IF IT WASN'T FOR SHANE I'D HAVE LEFT IMMEDIATELY. HES A CREDIT TO THE BRAND, YOU SHOULD BE PAYING HIM TOP MONEY. THE OTHER STAFF WERE ALSO TOP NOTCH BUT SHANE WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND TO TRY TO MAKE THINGS RIGHT. ALSO GET THE MIXED GRILL BACK ON AND MAYBE A HUNTERS CHICKEN, DON'T TRY AND REINVENT THE WHEEL OF FOOD YOU WILL FAIL.

Oh what a pub!! Wish this was my local!! Stopped here the other week for a meal and pint with my wife, before a show at the town hall. Even sat outside in the evening sun!! Looking for a sunny spot, this place took the top spot. Nice seating next to the church facing the sun. Inside was gloomy. It was the historical location with interesting buildings to please our eyes that made this the place to sit. Impressive cocktails with a good mix of ales and beers. For weary travellers, take a pew and relax with an old familiar.

Great place for a drink after exploring the town, woods & canal area. Lovely friendly attentive staff who even sorted our Uber taxi for us. Plenty of seating outside to enjoy a few drinks while people watching. Definitely worth a visit to this old quirky Inn situated in the middle of Skipton.

Decent selection of beers and a great sun-trap out back with plenty of outdoor seating. There are a few pool tables and a big screen for the sport, so it’s got a good buzz to it. It was a bit loud and lively when we dropped in as there was a big group of lads around the pool table, but it was still a good atmosphere overall. We just stayed for one drink and shared a couple of portions of fries, which hit the spot.

Frist time here after been to Skipton lots of times, friendly staff and good food, when the weather is good get a pint in the beer garden and enjoy

Great pub,the staff are very helpful and friendly. The food we had was really good, the calamari was the best I've had. Well worth a visit.

Met the lads here as a start of a bar crawl through town centre. The lads had been out before 6pm and I did not join them until just before 8pm. Drinks seemed reasonably priced for the area. Decent weather so we sat outside. I liked the atmosphere but the lads wanted to move on after a drink. I would have stayed longer. Recommend

Nestled along the riverside, the Red Lion is a charming pub that dates back to the 16th century, originally serving as a ferryman's inn. With its inviting oak floors and en suite bathrooms, it offers a cozy atmosphere perfect for relaxation. Despite challenges in the hospitality industry post-Covid and rising living costs, this establishment maintains high standards while keeping prices reasonable. Guests can enjoy ample outdoor seating by the river, some shaded under canopies.
I came to visit the Red Lion roughly a month ago, was very happy with everything provided, was served by an amazing server named Oli, very friendly and helpful. Came back yesterday night and the service was incredible. This time I was served by the wonderful people at the bar, bought a few pints, amazingly priced, will come again next time I visit Skipton!

On the 1st of February 2025, My wife and I decided to pay a visit to the Red Lion pub while we were on a day out in Skipton. Upon arriving we was greeted and told that food was a 45min wait, which was fine with us as it was a cold day. I ordered our drinks, and food I ordered a mixed grill and the wife ordered fish and chips with mushy peas. After one hour had past I approached the bar were I joined a small queue, but this queue wasn’t for customers asking for drinks, it was a queue for complaints regarding the lateness of food!! Once I had made my inquiry I was approached at out table and told its just being plated up, and we are next to be served….this wasn’t the case as other food was being served before us. 30 minutes had elapsed and I asked the same staff member where was our food? She said I’ll just check!! 15 minutes later our food was served, but I have to say the food on both plates was atrocious!…it was over cooked, hard and appeared to be reheated several times!! Unfortunately I’ve had to place a 1 star to leave a review…but it’s not worth the star I gave! 1hr, 45 minutes for food is appalling, by any stretch of the imagination I receive my money back for the food, but I’ll have to wait 3-5 days to see if it hits my account. This experience ruined a nice day out as by the time we left the market stalls, and some shops were closing….Avoid the Red Lion pub at all costs. -A on service. -A on food. -A on cleanliness. A note to the owner of the pub. I will be contacting your local council to for them to investigate food hygiene.

Came to Skipton today with my partner and after a lovely walk round skipton we decided to call into the red lion for a spot of lunch. We ordered 2 colas which were extortionately priced at £4.05 per pint. My legs went funny and thought id need to remortgage the house. We then sat at a table and decided on food. I went for the fish and chips and my partner gammon after a short while we received our food my partner had asked for a solid yolk but got a runny egg and both the peas on our dishes were like bullets I think they used wonky peas from morrisons the fish was a little watery but despite these minor issues we still enjoyed our food and had a pleasant time. The staff were very friendly and attentive which made our dining experience that much better.

Called in lunchtime, decided on the steak and ale pie. Although the service was good the food was well below standard. The meat was very fatty and the pie crust doughy. A bad day in the kitchen I guess. Beer was good though. Shame as staff helpful and attentive.

Not happy with food again fish was wet and not sure what the coating was deffo not batter and the wife's gamon was not cooked enough but the rolly poly was cracking

Staff was nice and very polite. I had steak perfect cooked to my taste. If I will be there i definitely visit there again.

Good selection of food however the drinks where all flat, all the on draft cider was warm, the bar staff where very unhygienic, dropping tongs and straws on the floor and still used them to make drinks. Finally when our drinks order came the member of staff came to the table slammed the tray down spilling drinks all over me and walked away without saying anything or taking the drinks off the tray.

Nestled alongside the picturesque canal, The Royal Shepherd Inn is a charming 17th-century pub steeped in history and intrigue. With tales of ghostly apparitions, including a murdered man and a spectral woman with her loyal hound named Tag, this establishment offers more than just hearty meals. Inside, you'll find a warm and inviting atmosphere where friendly locals and staff create an enjoyable experience for all visitors.
Always makes you feel welcome. Such a lovely traditional pub with a generous portion of Sunday roast (2 for £26). Good coffee and a good selection of beer. It gets busy on Sunday afternoons, so the advice would be to book a table.

Very nice little pub. What I love ❤️ about this place is the atmosphere. It still feels like a local right next to the canal. I've been here a few times over the years, and the quality is on an even keel 😃. There was a steady stream of visitors, outside and in, dining and drinking, lapping up a lovely summer sun. Always a warm welcome, a friendly smile and only to happy to accommodate meal request if they can. Yes! Will be dunking my beef baguette here again on my next trip out to Skipton. The only criticism are the recycle ♻️ food bins could do with being enclosed. sometimes get the odd whiff if sat around the side benches.

Proper pub food cooked really well. Friendly staff. Great value for money. So much so that we went twice in one week! No pics of the roasts though as I forgot (but it was the first time we've not had to ask for extra gravy!) They have a good haunting story too... Would definitely go again if we are back up that way.

This was a superb pub for drinking, with a cosy setting across its colourful interior! Mock ornaments on the walls and counter is compact, seating is cosy as well. I enjoyed a pint of Red Stripe which they luckily had on tap, cleanliness was solid!

Lovely spot, friendly staff and a good chef. I had the steak pudding & my wife had the reduced portion (great idea) steak & kidney pie. Yum yum!

Great local vibe. Accommodating, added a battered fish to a Vegatarian roast dinner as no other option other than typical fish and chips on a sunday menu, didnt seem overly impressed but did it nonetheless which was much appreciated. Food came out quick, fresh and tasty dishes and reasonably priced (classic pub gub). Music could have matched the ambience a bit better and seating on top of each other slightly but not the end of the world.

Enjoyed our visit to this pub in Skipton. The staff were so nice, the food was really good. We had their burgers, special menu lasagna and fish n chips. The burger was monstrous, could’ve been juicer 😅 Classic pub food tastes. Would recommend.

This is the second time we’ve visited The Royal Shepherd with our 2 little doggies, the Sunday roast is absolutely delicious! Hence our second visit! We also finished off with the sticky toffee pudding - equally delicious. The service is very welcoming and nothing seems too much trouble for the friendly bar man! Would highly recommend a visit!

Bizzie Lizzie's, located at the High Street Car Park in Skipton, is a beloved spot known for its award-winning Fish and Chips. The restaurant is popular among locals and visitors alike. In addition to their renowned Fish and Chips, they also offer a delightful Breakfast and Afternoon Tea menu. While some may find the prices slightly higher, the quality of the food makes it worth it. The staff are friendly and the quirky fish-themed decor adds to the charm of this place.
Not been in for a while, but as always it was a lovely experience and a great meal… I had cod and chips with all the trimmings and a pot of tea . My daughter had the jacket potato with tuna and mayo 👍

Tried bizzie lizzies for the first time and had a very long wait time for fish and chips. Although having said this the fish was very nice in fresh crispy batter with some well cooked tasty chips. For fish and chips it is more on the expensive side but nice never the less and can be no complaints in terms of the flavours. Is it the best fish and chips I’ve ever had ? -No , but it is solid and ticks the boxes of a good chippy just a shame about the wait times and slightly premium price point 4/5
Callum L — Google review
Fish was not Large as described, and our meal was quite expensive for a Lunchtime Special ! Fish and chips with no extras at £14.95p each. Other places provide at least Bread and Butter or a Tea /Coffee with their meals, but not this place , every item is an extra. Customer service was not great and nearly deterred us from taking a seat . We were shown to our seats in a near empty restaurant area but decided to sit elsewhere (as was our choice), only to be asked the reason why? Should have left at that stage as the food was not worth waiting for ,and I did not think I had to justify a seating preference . Very basic meal for the price .

We have been to Skipton many times but never visited this restaurant before. It won't be our last visit. Great place and apart from the food the staff are all very pleasant and the fish features around the building are quirky. From door viewing panels to WC seats. Give it a try they have a large menu not just fish and chips. OAP special also available. Enjoyed our Yorkshire Fish cakes ( Or scones).

Absolutely disgusting customer service if I could rate no stars i would! Waited 25 minutes to be served normally not an issue as they were busy. Got the order wrong again easily done but having my lunch taken off me mid bite is totally unacceptable . Literally 20 mins after receiving our order the waitress came to clear the table while I had a forkful of food half an inch from my mouth. Then proceeded to clear the table of 3 unfinished meals and left the one that was actually finished with! As the cherry on the top the young man ( he's actually a nice lad) mentioned we had a "name" oh its the burger table. Not a good or even passable experience. I would not recommend to anyone absolutely disgusting. £70 I paid for 4 meals so not a cheap option.
Jill M — Google review
We visited 6/9/25. The haddock and chips was adequate if over priced. We also ordered a jacket potato with tuna. The plate arrived with a cold potato, a teaspoon of tuna in a ramekin and a similar portion of coleslaw. The best thing on the plate was the salad garnish. The potato was cold and was microwaved and returned to me. I can't believe that a simple potato can be inedible! This was accompanied by a glass of flat coke zero. When paying I was asked how the meal was and I commented that it was the worst potato I had ever seen. The nice assistant looked embarrassed and apologised - but still charged £35! They are fortunate to have business from day-trippers I think.

Had a rather unfortunate experience today. We went for lunch, my father, son and myself. The service was slow and unorganised. The food was well below average. Stale tea cake, tasteless fish. One of the waitresses looked ill we asked if she was ok. She replied saying she wasn’t well. Not sure having ill staff is a great idea. When asked if everything was ok we said not really and the reply was we are very busy.

This pub is a brilliant, traditional pub! There was a queue when we arrived but we only waited for around 5 minutes for a table. The first thing I noticed was that there was no music playing. This is really good in my opinion because it means people are encouraged to socialise and/or simply appreciate each other's company. It was so nice to have a proper conversation without having to shout to be heard. It helps when other guests are also mindful and respectful of each other. :) The food and drinks menu is fantastic, offering a variety for children and adults. We ordered the normal turkey roast dinner, large yorkshire pudding beef and lamb roast dinners, a brownie, cake, and three-flavour ice cream. Some pubs hold back on the meat and give out scraps, but this place gives you a proper portion. 🤤 Obviously, prices vary depending on what you get, but to give you an idea, we each paid around £15-£22 for a drink, main, and dessert. Staff are efficient and kind. We will definitely come again!

The food and service here was brilliant. It was market day so they were obviously busy but we were served very quickly. The Yorkshire pudding wrap with lamb, mint and feta was everything I hoped it would be. The lamb was melt in the mouth tender, delicious. Hubby had curried lentil soup, which was also very tasty. Staff are friendly, welcoming and very hardworking. If you are coming to Skipton, you must visit! If you like excellent food, good sized portions and very reasonable prices, this is the place for you. My only regret was being too full for a dessert!

⭐️⭐️ 2/5 – First time, last time My colleague and I met in Skipton today ,it’s roughly halfway for both of us and decided to treat ourselves to a Sunday breakfast. After seeing the glowing 4.7 rating for *Dales Cottage Café and Grill*, we arrived with high hopes and empty stomachs. Sadly, it turned out to be a disappointment from start to finish. We were seated promptly and handed menus — so far, so good. We ordered the “big breakfast,” expecting a hearty, well cooked meal worthy of the reviews. But when it arrived, the problems were plain to see. The sausage was deep-fried, clearly cheap and not local produce, lacking both flavour and quality. The bacon was limp and barely warm, while the beans and tinned tomatoes were tepid. Portions were surprisingly small for something described as a “big” breakfast. Then came the toast ,burnt, sliced, and placed in a toast rack. Whoever served it must have seen how overdone it was, yet it was presented without a word or apology. The plates weren’t warmed either, so what little heat the meal had quickly disappeared. We didn’t complain, sometimes silence speaks louder. We simply exchanged that disappointed glance that says, *let’s finish and go*. The café itself was heaving, cramped, and noisy, with tables packed so tightly that people were constantly squeezing past and bumping chairs. The atmosphere felt more frantic than friendly, more canteen rush-hour than cosy country café. For a venue boasting such high ratings, it was distinctly substandard — poor food quality, small portions, and a general lack of care in presentation. Food ⭐️⭐️ ,poor portions, cheap ingredients, and badly cooked. Service: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ , polite enough, though clearly overstretched. Atmosphere: - overcrowded and far from relaxing. A disappointing experience overall. Our first visit — and certainly our last.

Lovely cafe that is right in the centre of Skipton. So much choice of yummy food, we couldn't quite decide what to have. I had the hot turkey and stuffing sandwich and the homemade Broccoli and cheddar soup. They were both amazing and would highly recommend. My partner had the hot beef, onion and gravy baguette which he devoured! Very reasonably priced, would highly recommend to anyone wanting good wholesome food.

Beautiful, quaint place with friendly service. I had the full English Breakfast. I didn't want tomatoes so they asked what I'd like to replace it with so I chose an extra fried egg which was nice of them and unexpected. I have no complaints at all with anything in the breakfast. It was all cooked exceptionally well. I didn't leave anything. Will be back some day when visiting my Mum again

It's conveniently located near the high street in Skipton Town centre. Thursday is curry club day, and I ordered the Madras beef curry and found it well seasoned and delicious 😋 There are plenty of seatings indoors, and the beer garden in front is popular in summer. The place needs some tidying up, and tables need to be wiped down during our visit!

Visited while out on a bar crawl through the town centre. Place was busy and popular and it was easy to talk but this was my least favourite of the places we visited. Still funny being sober among a group of inebriated golfing mates. The toilets were upstairs which was a bit of a journey from the bar.

The pub boasts a unique mural of the local canal upstairs, adding to its character. This was a superb pub for drinking, with a throwback style that is so nice in a town like Skipton! The vintage displays about beverages on the walls mostly contribute to this, counter has a nice small layout and staff were welcoming. Amazing little place tucked away. Friendly staff, great seating/lighting and superb food. Dog friendly too. Small offering as it was Sunday but I knew that before I arrived. The Guinness steak pie was incredible, a huge portion and full of flavour, £16 but worth it. Nothing microwaved and great service. I struggled to move after I was so full! I Didn’t have an alcoholic drink but the coffee was excellent. The washroom was also nicely decorated and clean. Highly recommend.

We found the Narrow Boat while wandering through Skipton and a very hot Saturday. It offered a shady location but still outside. It was the menu that drew us in, with an eclectic mix of interesting and exciting foods with some pub classics. Although is was almost empty when we arrived it soon filled up and I have to say the quality and friendliness of the staff was a breath of fresh air. We ordered three small plates, plus a bowl of home made chips and a salad, but were amazed at the quality of the food, its carefully arranged plates and its huge generous portions. Everything was excellent and we did not need the salad, which was huge and wonderful, as each small plate came with its own small salad. The chef should be congratulated on a well thought out menu we something for everyone with out being stuck in boring so called classic menus. Definitely a hidden Gem. I only marked the atmosphere low as it was empty when we arrived. Brilliant! Yorkshire portions and prices with exciting food and ideas.

One of the worst meals I’ve had in a while. Me and my partner came for lunch and ordered tacos and a burger. Service was really nice but food took a while to arrive. The tacos were absolutely disgusting there is no other word for it. And my partner’s burger was okay but they forgot the bacon and salad on the side. My taco was served with a weird watery sauce instead of the chimichurri mentioned in the menu. I would say good place for a drink but avoid for food !

Was advised by locals this is the place to visit and so glad I did. (Not mention were I was going). Staff outstanding, food was best I had. I am very fond of curry I eat fish and the fish dish I had was fantastic. Not over powering and still had warmth, very very tasty. Even my daughter loved it. Thank you very much all at Mastabs

Place itself needs a face-lift in my opinion but dont let that put you off as the two mains we had were simply delicious certainly up there with the best we have had including top end Indian restaurants, service was friendly and attentive, a must if you like a quality curry.

“Slow” lamb was very chewy but not too oily. Chicken tikka starter was below average at best. Breads were soggy and tasteless. Samosas were greasy with very little filling and very greasy. Flavour was ok but meat was very disappointing.

They opened up 1hr earlier for us when we knocked which was lovely as it was freezing cold outside and we were passing through Skipton on our way back to London having been out and about sightseeing around Yorkshire all day. That was really nice of them. Their attention to us was lovely, the meal was very cheap in comparison to our favourite Indian dish near Canterbury - almost half the price actually. Their northern hospitality was really nice. The food was good but not excellent. The Indian we love is so flavoursome that the guy is catering our wedding and with his meals not only do you add nothing to it but you drink water just so you don’t miss out on any of the taste and flavour. With this meal we had to add salt, chutney, lemon etc to finally achieve the rich flavour we wanted. I would have liked to see more flavour going into the meals. Having said that, the tandoori lamb in my Makhani has that 10/10 rich flavour I was looking for. And despite having been cooked in the tandoor, it was tender enough not to be chewed for long and was very nice to eat. The king prawns in the king prawn puri were smaller than we are used to for king prawns and there could have been one or two more. That dish also needed chutney and lemon and salt to complete the flavour, but was nice. The lamb in the Makhani was a lot, they didn’t do that sparingly and that was nice. The puri and chapati were both made from whole meal flour and were quite dry. The chapati was very dry and hardened quickly and I’m not sure why. We prefer soft normal flour chapati. All in all - 7/10 and if we are ever in the area we’d go back and ask for more flavour and non wholemeal chapati. Recommended.

I have eaten at other restaurants in Skipton, although they have good standards, Mastabs has better standards. One of the best things about this restaurant is the customer service. The owner served us and his personality matches the business. Staff were always checking up on us and always made conversation. Food was delicious and served very quickly. One of our main was even a special creation of haddock by the chef just for us so a lovely touch. Will certainly be going back again. Thanks guys

Absolutely loved this cafe we stumbled across when we came for the day to Skipton. We didn't know about it and it is up a side street so not easy to see but we are very pleased we did. We sat outside with our two dogs and had some food and drinks. Latte was lovely and fresh orange was actually real oranges and not a juice. Lovely. The food!!!!!!! We had Eggs Benedict and we absolutely loved it. Different as it had pulled ham rather than a piece of ham but we thought that was great and it tasted fab!!! The lady serving us was also lovely and we felt attended to and not ignored with us being outside which can sometimes happen when you're outside a venue. Would definitely recommend 👍👍

Ah, Skipton. Limited choice sometimes but really has some hidden gems. I am not one to leave reviews, but this really deserved it. Super welcoming, really cozy and the brunch was SO impressive. Service was speedy and food was faultless. We had the Classic Benedict, Turkish Eggs and the might brunch burger. 10/10 across the board. Isabel was attentive and so sweet. Thank you. Highly recommend, we will be back.

Came here in August for Brunch. I ordered the fruit compote pancakes and lemongrass and ginger tea. We were seated immediately and were given consideration for our pram that we brought inside with us. The waitress was polite and friendly and quickly took our order. The food arrived quickly and was tasty and hot. Some of the fluffiest and tastiest pancakes I've ever had and the tea was lovely and aromatic too. When we asked for the bill it was promptly brought, clean tables and interior. Would definitely recommend.

Absolutely incredible food! Hands down the best brunch that I have ever eaten. The Reuben Benedict stood out as an unusual dish that I’ve never seen before. I was not disappointed! Every mouthful was an array of flavour and a smorgasbord for your tastebuds.

Nestled in the charming town of Skipton, England, Two Sisters Bar & Kitchen is a delightful spot that beckons visitors at any hour. Whether you're craving a unique breakfast pizza to kickstart your day or looking for a cozy place to unwind with a nightcap, this bar and kitchen has you covered. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it feel like a home away from home.
We found and picked this place based on other reviewers and we're not disappointed. The building is full of character. From the traditional stone exterior, to the dark themed interior dotted with pictures and decorative mirrors. It felt unpretentious and welcoming. The menus provide an interesting mix of dishes that combine different cultural cuisine, and good variety. The food was delicious, with some lovely flavours. Portion sizes were reasonable and I'd say good value. Service was generally good. Certainly friendly and welcoming, but the table hadn't been cleaned and nobody noticed we didn't have any cutlery (provided in a can). Certainly worth a revisit next time we're in the area.

Our family’s first time visit Skipton. Before heading to Hesket Farm, we decided to stop for a meal, and the charming vintage sign for Two Sisters immediately caught our eye. From the moment we walked in, we were impressed by the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff were incredibly friendly and engaging, making us feel as though we had known them for years. The food was equally delightful! Thank you for such a wonderful experience; we will definitely be returning for tacos and shakshuka! 🌮👌💯

Pizza Takeout
Restaurant
Located in Skipton, Pizza Express is a popular chain pizzeria that offers a relaxed and casual atmosphere. The chefs, dressed in striped t-shirts, skillfully toss handmade pizzas for customers to enjoy. This restaurant stands out as one of the few open options on Sundays in the area. Pizza lovers are drawn to their Romano style pizzas, known for their thin base and generous toppings.
My family loves pizza express! But there’s something special about our local - we always have fantastic experience due to the outstanding service we receive from the staff. We have been coming for years now and Vincenza is almost always our server, she is very attentive, especially towards our little boy and this really makes our experience! We love the food and atmosphere. Definitely one of our regulars for this reason!
Chloe B — Google review
I took the opportunity to take up my Pizza Express reward of a 3 course meal for £25 this evening as I was home alone and I didn't fancy going home to cook a meal after a long hard day at work. I had the Meatballs Al Forno for my starter, which wasn't very nice as the meat balls tasted of very unpleasant ultra processed meat. The best dish of my meal was the main course of Sloppy Giuseppe classic pizza. I was very disappointed with my Honeycomb and mascarpone cheesecake with smooth salted caramel and chocolate on a rich biscuit base with vanilla gelato dessert, as despite the very tempting description on the menu, it was very, very sweet and just tasted of sugars. So although it seemed like a good value 3 course meal offer the only dish I enjoyed was the pizza and on reflection I would have been better off if I had just ordered a large Romana pizza for £19, as my starter and dessert weren't very nice.
Hong L — Google review
Great food, efficient service, I visited rather early on a weekday however so it was not particularly lively. Ended up finding their September deal of £1 for a classic pizza if you buy a full price one.
Jonathan W — Google review
This was a fantastic restaurant to dine in at, with pretty designs crafted from the lines! The staff promptly took me to a booked table, drinks options are clear and water is served for free before the meal. I had sweet and hot Honey Dough Balls as a starter, followed by a flavoursome Garlic Prawn Pizza and a classic Coca-Cola to drink! The seating is comfortable and can fit many together, cleanliness was fine too.
K. P — Google review
Awful experience...the waitress had a could not care attitude. The food was not what it used to be. The garlic mushroom starters were bland watery and under seasoned..the vegan gluten-free vegan pizza was tasteless and tiny compared to normal pizza coming out the kitchen. The peperonata pasta was dry bland and horrible and was removed from the bill after I complained. We used to be huge Pizza Express fans and dined at branches all over the country from London to Edinburgh and everywhere in between. This is our last visit, never again.
J H — Google review
We were served by a lovely lady called Vinny. She has served us before and always makes sure I get my pizza the way I like it. "pale". The restaurant is handy for shoppers and the food is always good. Pizza express is the best pizza in the country as far as I am concerned and dough balls are heavenly.
Janet — Google review
Very nice meal. Staff were friendly and attentive. Only downside was the new menu has very little pasta on it which is what I was hoping for give I had already had pizza that day. Other than that we had a lovely time and will be returning.
Thomas W — Google review
The food was great but the service of one gentleman dressed as the manager left a sour taste. He complained that we booked "last minute" on the app which was an hour before our arrival, nothing on the app says about minimum prior booking time. He also complained when we arrived slightly late that he'd had to turn away other people despite the restaurant being 60% empty and the full first floor area being completely empty. Only two other bookings arrived after us. The lady who served our table couldn't have been more helpful, but unfortunately the manager should not be working in a customer facing role.

Thai Basil Skipton is a delightful culinary gem nestled in the charming historic town of Skipton, North Yorkshire. Born from a passionate group of food enthusiasts, this restaurant aims to create an inviting atmosphere where every dish is crafted with care and the finest local ingredients. The team’s commitment to healthful yet delicious meals shines through in their offerings.
Such an amazing place - staff is lovely and the food is so good! I enjoyed it so much I ordered the same meal two days in a row 😂 items on a menu are labelled vegetarian but they do cater to vegans and have made me comfortable that the kitchen understands what that means, which unfortunately is not always the case. Will definitely be back next time I'm in Skipton ❤️.
Diana K — Google review
We really enjoyed our experience here, nice to find some good Thai food here in Skipton. The decor is amazing, kind of a maximalist jungle of color and foliage with lots of orchids and animals, very fun. The place is clearly a local favorite, I'd recommend you give it a try if you're looking for something Asian, fresh and flavorful. As diners with a lot of experience with Thai cuisine, we were somewhat less than fully impressed with the food. A bit too sweet, not enough fish sauce, seemed a bit toned-down to our palate. When the food came, we got loads of tasty vegetables: tried the full vegetable starter, standouts were the corn fritters and the deep-fried veggies. The Yum Pak salad was fresh and tasty. With that we had the Tom Kha Gai soup, very nice, with lots of aromatics, although a touch more fish sauce would have helped bring the flavor up. I'd certainly recommend this restaurant, it's one of the best places we've eaten in Skipton, and the kitschy decor has to be experienced! Service was excellent, very attentive and pleasant to interact with.

Stopped off on the way home, they didn't seem very keen on sitting us, (2 people) at about 8:25pm, there was only one other couple in, food was decent, certainly not the best Thai food I've had. But good. The restaurant itself is stunning the decor is beautiful. Staff didn't really engage or make any conversation and just stood around If they engaged or cared this place could be really good

Called by here on a Tues end of April, although we could have also picked one of at least two other adjacent coffee shops ! Glad we decided to on the Mill though, the staff our super lovely. Service is brilliant. We just had coffees and a slice of their home made lemon drizzle cake (which was sublime). There’s a nice courtyard out the back leading to a passage to the town. It’s dog friendly. The owners/staff seem to really care about your visit here and wished us a good day as we left 🙂

Other customers were having full freshly cooked meals & it all looked great! Highly recommended!

Have driven past Coopers many times but the other day decided to go for an early breakfast. It was delicious and great value. We went in before 9am and so the lady cooking did everything single handedly - super efficient. I had the full English which was delicious. Would have liked to try her home made waffles but that will be for next time! Highly recommend popping into Coopers for breakfast or lunch.

I love the coffee here but this time I decided to take my little boy and eat here. On arrival the staff were lovely and took good care of us. They offered my boy some marshmallows whilst we waited. The food is so nice. Tasty sandwiches and well cooked eggs. You can tell quality ingredients are used along with care and attention to presentation. I'm pleased to see a kids menu that isn't overpriced. Some 3 year olds don't eat a great deal so when we saw a sandwich offered with fruit it was a winner

Beautifully presented food that tasted as good as it looked. We were able to find something to suit everyone. The sharing platter was full of delicious mini bites including olives, hummus, meats, bread and salad and the lamb parties on flatbreads with fresh tzatziki were delicious.

Omgm! Absolutely love it here, so much so we made a special effort to track it down whilst on a visit from Stoke on Trent to Skipton, visiting the Yarndale wool festival. Guests can enjoy generous portions and a variety of menu options including vegan tasting menus and afternoon tea with bottomless prosecco.
We visited Rhubarb restaurant as we were staying at Herriotts Hotel and the only reason for our stay was to try the vegan tasting menu. The restaurant was lovely and modern with nice lighting and we had a lovely table for two. The food was fabulous, beautifully presented, piping hot plates, full of flavour and perfect portions for a tasting menu. The service at front of house was great too, a young team who were brilliant. We did some research as to which wines were vegan on the menu and ordered a Sauvignon Blanc which was actually labelled vegan on the bottle. I spoke to chefs Callum and Joe who had never actually cooked the vegan menu before and I have to take my hat off, they did an absolutely stunning job. I can't fault the experience at all and we will definitely return as I believe a new vegan tasting menu is due to be released.

I just had a BLT and the most delicious handmade rhubarb crumble. I would say the Crumble was the star as it was freshly made just for me, and the smiley waiter Valentino served it. I like a happy server! The atmosphere is pleasant and service was actually fast to say it looked like Valentino was flying solo. I think the BLT was a bit pricy at 13:50 but you do get fries or salad with it! The shandy was great, I like Moretti! I would come back again, but next time I’m booking Afternoon tea and I’m bringing my dog!! Not many places that are small dog friendly. They actually have a 25% off discount between 12:00 and 16:00 week days so it actually turned out to be quite reasonable. Side note , Chris was very friendly but wouldn’t say the word Scone for me. Maybe next time he will! I forgot to mention I received a lovely rose at the end of the day from Valentino. Thank you. You made my day!!

The bhaji was a disappointment needing much more seasoning and perhaps a bit more spice which left concerns for the mains. However the steak was very well seasoned and the red cabbage had excellent flavours. Portions were large and we were too full to move onto dessert. Service was friendly if a little erratic. A little hit and miss but not a disaster making it reasonable value @ £35 a head with a drink each.

Pub
The Bay Horse, managed by Vintage Inns, is a charming historic canal side pub in Skipton. It has a dog-friendly atmosphere where pets are welcomed with free snacks and water. The pub dates back to 1822 and was a popular spot for local workers to unwind after their shifts at the weaving mills. Its location next to the canal makes it an ideal place to stop for a drink after a walk along the towpath.
Skipton was so busy we decided to try find a nice pub to get food and drink on our drive back. We arrived at a silly time to eat and we’d skipped lunch. We were pleasantly surprised when we were advised that they serve food all day. We chose a table with a view of the canal. The service was friendly and efficient. The beef brisket sandwich was absolutely delicious. I thought the lasagne tasted bland but my daughter enjoyed it. The service was excellent!

There is a play area downstairs and room to change a baby. The toasties are recommended. A handy place to grab some food before/after a canal boat trip as it is just opposite

Unhygenic and rude staff. Visited this small tea room. Ordered a pot of tea and a scone. The lady serving used tongs to select my scone, then used the palm of her hand as a plate, took it over to a counter, looked around then put the scone on top of a plastic cover. I pointed out holding the scone was unhygienic to which she replied her hands were clean. I decided to leave. I left with her comment 'you don't know what your missing'. My reply, 'yes I do, your germs' As approached the door the same woman shouted don't bang the door , I had no intention of banging her door. Give this place a miss there are more hygienic and friendly places to spend your money.

Lovely little cafe that we try to get to whenever we visit Skipton. Food is delicious and freshly cooked. Staff are friendly, and the prices are really good. £9.95 for a full English breakfast with toast! (And a large serving). All locally sourced. Can't go wrong. See you again!

Had a cheese and ham toasty which came with vegetable crisps, salad and coleslaw and finished off with carrot cake and a gingerbread coffee. The food was absolutely delicious and the portions were large. Atmosphere friendly and cosy and the price very reasonable. Will definitely make this a regular place to visit when out in Skipton 😊

I have been visiting the tearoom for years, Helene and Janet do a fantastic job. I recently won a Facebook competition for a breakfast for two including tea or coffee. I went today and claimed the winnings. The breakfast was lovely coming from lancashire we have great black pudding (bury black pudding) However here it is a local butchers and wow it was delightful solid 11 out of 10. We had a choice of white brown or seeded bread for the toast( I love the choices) the sausage and bacon are also from the butchers it was all very nice. Helene has advised there is a new menu coming soon and it looks for have some really nice options so I'm looking forward to the next visit. Also wanted to shout out to layla which is a young lass who works at the tea room her attitude to work is so refreshing for a girl her age, she is a little work horse!! She always has a smile on her face and is very attentive and very polite!! I love a visit to Helene's. We didn't have cake today but the carrot cake is also 10/10 I usually choose this when I'm there.

Having taken a pleasant walk through Skipton Woods we needed something to eat and drink and happened upon Helene’s Tea Room, cosy little place and we opted for the English Breakfast. Didn’t have to wait long, though we were advised the food was freshly cooked to order. Everything on the plate was really tasty and it more than satisfied the appetite we had worked up. Will definitely return next time we are in town.

Decent food. 2 women serving, one was nice but unfortunately the other was rude as had a go at me for plugging my phone into charge… didn’t realise the 2 plug sockets on the wall were for decoration. Wouldn’t go back

Nestled in the heart of Skipton, Craven Kitchen is a delightful restaurant that exudes a relaxed yet chic atmosphere. This hidden gem specializes in both traditional and modern Bengali cuisine, showcasing an array of tandoori and clay oven-baked dishes that are sure to tantalize your taste buds. The menu features everything from subtly aromatic specialties to richly flavored options, catering to diverse palates.
We had a fabulous meal here, really friendly staff and the cleanest toilets ever
Sharon T — Google review
We booked a table at the Craven Kitchen for a meal this evening before going to see a band playing at the nearby Speakeasy bar in Skipton town center, following a Google search of good Indian restaurants in Skipton. Our favourite go to Indian restaurant in Skipton used to be the Aagrah, which started off life in the same building now occupied by the Craven Kitchen, before moving to a much larger building near the canal and sadly closing a couple of years ago, forcing us to go to their Shipley branch for our favourite curries. Although we arrived on time for our 6:30pm reservation we had to wait for 10 minutes in the small waiting area in front of the small bar for our table and during our wait we weren't offered any drinks from the bar nor menus to look at. After being seated at our table it took 10 mins for our order to be taken and another 45 mins for our starters to be eventually served at 7:35pm after chasing twice - a full 1 hour & 5 mins after we arrived!! The small 44 seat restaurant was full on a very busy Saturday evening and there was a steady stream of customers coming in to collect their takeaway orders, however, it was totally unacceptable to have to wait so long for our food to be served. Our starter of the mixed meat platter to share when it eventually arrived was delicious with plenty of grilled chicken tikka, fish, lamb chops and sheek kebabs with tasty onions on a sizzling platter. There was about a 15 min wait after we finished our starters before we were served our main courses. I had the Chicken Zafrani (firey hot, cooked with bay leaf, cinnamon green chilli, tomato, spring onion, coriander & pepper), my wife had the Nazrang Kamb Nazeez (strips of succulent tender lamb marinated with a hint of chilli, lime juice, then simmered with bay leaf with pepper medium), and we shared a boiled rice and 3 chapattis. The food was very tasty and we enjoyed the meal but not the long wait. My wife had 3 bottles of Tiger beer, I had 1/2 pint of draught Kingfisher beer and the total bill came to a reasonable £52.10. We requested a jug of water when we initially ordered our drinks and had to chase for it 3 times before we finally got it, over 1 hour after ordering it! The restaurant is accessed via some steep steps at the front and there's a small male & a small female toilet but no disabled toilet, so I'm not sure if it's wheelchair accessible. There's a very small number of on street parking spaces outside the restaurant with a large paid car park nearby, next to the town's bus station. Although we enjoyed the food, the very long wait for our meal and poor service made it a very poor dinning experience on our 1st visit to the Craven Kitchen and as my wife quite correctly pointed out we could have driven to the Aagrah Shipley and back in the 65 mins we had to wait for our starters to be served! - we might give them another try again sometime in the future, perhaps during the week when they should hopefully be a lot quieter and can provide a better service.

Popped in with a group of 15. The staff were friendly and got us seated without much hassle, which was appreciated. Unfortunately, the food was fairly average — decent enough, but nothing that really stood out. Portion sizes were small for the price, especially the curries, which didn’t stretch far at all. That said, there’s not a huge amount of choice curry-wise in Skipton, so it does the job if you’re in town and craving something spicy. Just don’t go in expecting generous portions or standout flavours.
Graham F — Google review
In Skipton for a few days this week and, unexpectedly (my partner is not big on spicy foods), popped in to the Craven Kitchen for a curry. Quiet night atmosphere wise, but we had a really lovely meal. Food great and service from AJ (or is it Ajay) and his colleagues was first-class - he even "dumbed down" the spice level for my partner and recommended a "typical" Bengali dish for me. Great stuff - would go again and would recommend.

This is our go to place. Food is great and the staff are fantastic. Our visit today was for my daughter’s birthday and after a tasty meal they brought her a cake with sparkler on top. This was done by the staff without us asking and we thought it was a loverly gesture. We would recommend a visit and we are definitely returning. Thank you to everyone at craven kitchen.

This place has become a regular treat night for myself and my partner. There are plenty of vegan options and the staff are really nice. They were super busy tonight with takeaway orders and a full house. A 12 top showed up tonight without a booking at 8.30 and they were immediately accommodated. This place goes above and beyond.

Tried to order takeaway online but one dish advertised as £10.95 ended up as £21 in the basket! Couldn’t change it. Also apparently open, but website said we could place order when next open! Very confusing and didn’t want to risk paying for something we might not get!

Really, really tasty food! We all enjoyed it and the driver was super friendly. They also were the only place that would deliver to our campsite and kindly provided us with some cutlery upon request. Would strongly recommend, although the chips were definitely not the greatest so maybe avoid those.

On a sunny day in Skipton, we found ourselves at a charming café just off Victoria Square. The outdoor seating was limited but cozy, perfect for enjoying the warm weather. We indulged in a cheese and pickle sandwich on brown bread and an egg mayo sandwich, both accompanied by chips and a small salad. Our refreshing drinks, a Sprite and a Coke, complemented the meal nicely. The setting was delightful, offering a choice between basking in the sun or relaxing in the shade. The staff were attentive, friendly, and helpful, adding to the pleasant experience. While the atmosphere and service were commendable, we felt that the meal could have offered a bit more value for the price. A more generous portion of chips and salad would have enhanced the experience. Nonetheless, it was a lovely spot to enjoy a meal on a beautiful day.

We decided to try Greenwood Cafe Bistro after finding excellent reviews online from previous customers with ceoliac disease (strictly gluten free). We were not disappointed! We had the best homemade gluten free scones we've ever had & they came served with incredible homemade jam full of fruit. It can be difficult to find good gluten free food when out & about but to find excellent food is a rarity. Thank you!

We were struggling to find somewhere to eat as Skipton was very busy. We walked in to Greenwood and they were pleasant and accommodating offering us a table in an hour. Thursday night is tapas night and the menu looked fabulous. All of the food was delicious and our only disappointment was that we couldn't not manage anymore than the four dishes we selected! The beer battered leeks with blue cheese sauce was a stunning dish and I have never had anything like it before. The staff were lovely and the food and wine are high quality and great value.

I cannot recommend this cafe enough. On arrival with our little one in his pram, the door was opened for us and we were offered a table with plenty of room so we could feed him. The staff could not do enough for us. So friendly and helpful. The coffee is very nice, especially the flat white. I couldn't resist the nice cakes on offer too. The squidgy lemon cake was lovely. It was table service too which was nice. I will be calling back to try some of the cooked food

We have been to Skipton hundreds of times but never to Caffè Capo. We struggle usually find decent vegetarian options in Skipton. Caffè Capo was lovely. Friendly, polite staff, plenty of options, clean environment, reasonable prices, very good food and portions, great coffee, dog and child friendly. We will definitely be back again. Saw a couple negative reviews but we honestly couldn't fault the place or the food or the prices.

Large milkshake cost £4.25 in March, now they're £5.95!! I wasn't aware the United Kingdom was rationing milk ffs. (In fact, I just realised I didn't even order a large this time, so what the hell?! And I've just been to London where milkshakes were only £4 for a large at a much posher café...) Then there was a half hour wait for a bloody TOASTIE with no apology! Café wasn't even half full so no excuse. I ordered a brownie expecting a cold brownie, it arrived warmed up with cream on it. I didn't want nor was told it would be served that way. Card machine barely worked either. Will not be back.

Superb location for breakfast and a coffee with excellent views of the church and castle. I opted for the scrambled egg on sourdough toast with bacon, eggs were cooked perfectly and the nice salty bacon complimented it well. Great value for money and highly recommend.

I ordered the fresh chicken breast special sandwich. I asked for it to be thinly sliced as I can't eat chunky food. A cheap chicken burger arrived which had been cut into cubes. It was dry and tasteless. I told the waitress that was not what I'd ordered and she said o we don't do fresh chicken anymore. I could have gone for Macdonald's £1 19 burger instead of £9.50. Very disappointed as we often go in for coffee. Will go in the church refectory.

What a brilliant hidden gem! The bakery is not on the Skipton High Street, it's round the corner past the Holy Trinity Church, when the church is on your right. When in Skipton, Walkers bakery is a must visit, ensure you buy bread and cakes on your way out.

From the outside it looks welcoming and cosy. Inside it's ok. The food, on the other hand, the less said, the better. Overpriced, poor quality and slap dash presentation-wise. Within half hour of eating the food was repeating on us and, as a consequence, we've had an upset stomach. Apparently the place used to be very good before Covid-19, but surely you can't blame the general poor quality on that. Live and learn, I suppose.

Had a trip to Skipton with a few friends on bank holiday Monday. We visited a few pubs. Some of which we just walked straight out due to lack of decent ales on tap. I'd been to the Albion before so suggested we all went there. " Best pub in Skipton's was their reaction. Plenty of friendly staff to greet and serve us and a good choice of ales. Thank you!

This is another great pub that we found purely by accident but was a cracking find. The beer was on very decent form but unfortunately wasn't a particularly good beer and not to my liking, to be honest the range was quite poor. The food was well cooked and had that home made feel about it, very nice indeed. Is it the best pub in Skipton, no, would i go again 100% yes.
John B — Google review
Went in after a walk looking for a sit, a drink, and some food. Got a comfy seat outside in the gorgeous little garden and got a drink but unfortunately no food as they now only do food Monday-Saturday. Apart from that, a great little pub! Dog friendly inside and out, clean well stocked toilets (with handy grab rails in the ladies, very appreciated by a stiff and sore sitter), and what looked to be a good selection of drinks, as we had soft drinks, at reasonable prices. It looked to be a popular place as there were lots of folx in on a Sunday afternoon and I can definitely see why!

While the food at this location was generally good, with the exception of the sausages, there were several issues that detracted from the overall experience. The lack of a menu on the wall upon entering was inconvenient, and the dirty cutlery and cups were disappointing. Additionally, the staff seemed unhappy and uninviting, and we were no longer able to get our own drinks as we had in the past. To top it off, the WiFi was not functioning. These issues make us likely to choose a different location for our next visit

Wasn't good. It wasn't the staffs fault but the automated system of ordering food and drink just doesn't work. I ordered a tea and scone with Jam and I got 2pots of tea, never received the scone. Things were that bad that the manager of the cafe took to hiding in the back and was refusing to come out and deal with complaints leaving her poor staff to cope, she gets paid to deal with issues.

Must say the service in here has really gone downhill. The poor elderly man on the till was clearly having problems. Took ages with each customer. Then the lad on the coffee disappeared to do the dishes left me just stood there waiting for my drink.. then rolled his eyes and tutted when I asked him if he was doing drinks. Daniel — Google review
Unsure what precisely has happened to this place. We used to go every week almost and it was brilliant, easily the best Chinese I’ve ever had. Recently, the last 4/5 orders the food’s quality has been really poor and slacking. Salt and pepper chips for example had completely hard chips in which were not cooked and almost no seasoning on. Salt and pepper chicken similarly has been on multiple occasions dry and soggy. Prawn crackers have been awful too, completely stale at one point. Last week for example (or two weeks ago, I forget) I got a really dodgy stomach and was up all night after eating the food. Beef and black bean similarly more slimy than usual and overall lots of the stuff has just gone downhill. At one point this place was unreal, truly one of the best Chinese takeaways I’ve gone to, especially the chicken wings were easily amongst the best chicken wings I’ve had. So unsure whether something has happened with management or change of chefs etc. Going to give it the benefit of the doubt as I sincerely hope it goes back to its former glory. But personally will be trying another takeaway for now.
Fin — Google review
The takeaway has a large variety of dishes on the menu, many of which are delicious! I have strongly enjoyed king prawn fried rice, chicken chow Mein, prawn crackers and more from here, twice for birthday celebrations. There is a nice atmosphere inside, with a stylized counter that has the addition of a Chinese cat ornament.

That’s one of the best places in Skipton of Chinese kitchens. I always get some pineapple or banana fritters which saves all my bad days. The service is always nice and cute. I’m so glad that I found this wonderful place with wonderful menu

Caffè Nero is a cozy coffee shop that offers a delightful menu featuring light meals and an array of specially crafted hot and cold beverages. This particular location stands out for its attentive service and skilled baristas, making it a great spot to enjoy your favorite drink. The ambiance is inviting, with comfortable seating options, including a lovely sofa by the window—perfect for soaking up the sun while sipping on an Americano or indulging in delicious ginger biscuits at reasonable prices.
A coffee shop chain, but one of the better ones. We popped in for a snack which was coffee and cake, and were not disappointed. Service was quick, friendly and provided a warm welcome, with ample of seating for the 2 of us and large dog. The refreshments were good, albeit the fudge cake was on the dry side, however, the mango cheesecake was delicious.

I had a lovely warm almond croissant and a delightful hot chocolate whilst watching the world go by before work. The staff were friendly and polite. It was very enjoyable.

Katelyn served me and was knowledgable throughout! She was friendly throughout and was extremely engaging in conversation while we worked out what to order!

A better example of a Neros with decent service and coffee / Barista skills evident. My soy cap was good and wife's Oat HC excellent. Just let down, as usual for this chain by the lack of ANY vegan savoury options, all week on our stay here there was nada. At Costa while don't like their coffee as much I had 3 vegan savoury choices including an excellent toastie. Not the fault of the fine Skipton Nero Branch I would guess but some more senior Muppet Would return, unless I was hungry as because I can't eat meat / dairy these folk think it's fine to have NOTHING

This was a fantastic shop to dine in at, where a sofa is situated by the window appropriately for those sunny days! I enjoyed a quality Americano for less than £3 served by a friendly staff member, who took a remade one to my table after I accidentally placed the first drink down too hard. The seating is comfortable and cleanliness was maintained, also I had two delicious ginger biscuits for less than £2!

Special treat, my daughter got a kiddie hot choc so good, decaf latte. piece of carrot cake and lemon meringue cake were both lovely thank you to the lady serving us

I just love this coffee, so much better than Costa - I like flat white and they do this so well. I also have decaf and the taste of the decaf is equal to standard coffee. My flat white had a really velvety thin foam and great art work

Chicos Takeaway is a delightful spot that offers a variety of tasty options, from pizzas to burgers. While it may not claim the title of the best pizza in the world, it certainly surpasses typical takeaway joints with its quality and value. Watching the chefs craft your meal adds to the experience, and at just £5 for a generously sized pizza, it's hard to beat! The friendly staff genuinely care about their customers, making every visit enjoyable.
Really enjoyed the pizza (ham and pineapple). We also got a burger & chips, mighty meaty and a garlic bread, plus 2 cans for under £20!

Pizza arrived cold and dry. We also weren't made aware that a taxi would be delivering our food so we had an extra £14 to pay on top. The order was wrong even though it was two of the same pizza. Won't be ordering again.

Just moved into town. I was told this place is the best pizza/burger in town. Well I have to tell you its true!!! I had the specail burger. I cant believe how specail it truly is. So let's be clear. It's not the best pizza in the world. But it's better than pizza express or standard takeaway shop. You can see the guys make it while you wait. But when you consider the price I would say it's outstanding value. Paid £5 for a fairly decent sized pizza. The people working in there are also really REALLY nice and friendly and care about their customers. I will definitely be returning to try other things on the menu. All things considered I have to give it 5 stars.

If you're in Skipton and craving a delicious Indian meal, look no further than The Taj Indian Takeaway. This local gem is known for its rich flavors and generous portions, making it a favorite among families and curry enthusiasts alike. Many visitors rave about the set meal for two, which offers an array of well-prepared dishes that are perfectly spiced. Even if you have to pay cash only, the experience is worth it!
Food was great! Most negative reviews seem to come from delivery (just eat)which I dont think you should blame the restaurant for. Customer service was great, will be going again! Only took 20mins for collection

We decided to get some food as we were walking by and ordered the set meal for two. Helpings were generous, and each of the dishes in the set meal was nicely prepared and spiced. We ended up sharing with a third person, and there was ample for all. The one thing that threw us was cash-only, but that was not a show-stopper. We really enjoyed the food, and would definitely get take-away from here again.

Sorry to have to write this… We Waited 1 hour and 10 minutes for TWO warm desserts. When they came they were clap cold, soggy and my waffle was raw / not cooked. Really disappointing, and it isn’t cheap £8.95 for a raw uncooked cold waffle!? Sadly we won’t be ordering from here again.

Had family visiting this week & it's the most flavourful curry in Skipton 😊 my mum and sister loved it, had it twice since last Wednesday! Charlie

Waited 2 hours for food, got told numerous times it's on the way. Was hoping the food would be amazing then after the wait... However it was cold curry, soggy naan bread and stale chips and decided I was so hungry I'd eat it anyway and half way through I found a bone in my curry and that was me done. Absolutely gutted as I'd heard good things about this place but I believe it's recently changed hands so if I was you I'd avoid until they get their act together!

Burger King is a popular fast-food chain renowned for its grilled burgers, crispy fries, and delicious shakes. Imagine the delight of finding a Burger King nestled alongside Greggs—what an incredible pairing! While this particular location may have limited menu options compared to what you might expect from other Burger Kings, the food still delivers on taste.
A small Burger King that shares with a Greggs. Have 2 self service machines to order from. A slight wait for food. Not sure if it’s just this one or all burger kings but there didn’t seem to be that many options, sure there used to be more burger variety. Food was nice. The burger didn’t have that char grilled flavour you expect from a BK. Tried those Dorito chicken things not worth the money. There was a bit of Dorito seasoning over them but would have been better if they were coated in them and super crispy but they weren’t. £20 for a large meal and kids.
Leon D — Google review
Called in on the way home and forgot how expensive it is £18 for 2 burger meals, and on top, they want to charge you for mayo burger was ok love the tomato onion lettuce on it even if burger was a bit cool. Surprised, they didn't charge extra for mayo on it, chips were way over salted to point and couldn't eat them. Also, floor dirty in the waiting area needed a quick clean and rubbish picking up.
Carl L — Google review
I prefer BK to McDonalds, and this is the first time I've visited this specific location. It's a bit run down looking, and I honestly wasn't even sure it was open when I pulled in, all the chairs were stacked as if closed but looking at opening times they wouldn't be shut for another 2 hours after I arrived. Still, food was OK.
Ric O — Google review
Today I stopped at this Burger King on our way driving down to Manchester and honestly wish I’d waited for another spot. Not a single glove or hairnet in sight, lady behind the counter sneezing all over. Thought I’d just ignore all that as I’d already ordered unfortunately. The two girls behind the counter looked so confused constantly, terrible attitude on them when speaking to each other. Plus very unclean restaurant in general, rubbish all over the floor. I knew I’d made a mistake. THEN when I was given my food and set off on my journey again, to my absolute horror, hairs all in my fries, every other frie had a hair on it. Given a vanilla milkshake instead of chocolate one too. I’m not done yet… to top this all off I noticed they had forgot to put the chicken in my chicken royale. Literally the main ingredient, how does someone even do that?? Forgetting the additional extras like sauce and stuff I understand. But the chicken… in a chicken burger?? What are you smoking! It wasn’t busy at all it was basically only us in there. Absolutely mental, hire better staff Burger King!! Have never wrote a review before this one, truly imbecilic.
Jamie-Leigh B — Google review
Complete transparency, I didn't eat here. I was going to but fortunately I visited the toilet before I ordered. Is it just me or is chewing gum with mold on it in the urinal isn't a good sign? And the stench of ammonia was making my eyes water. Absolutely disgusting. I'm guessing the food, service and atmosphere are equally pissy
Dave J — Google review
Greggs & Burger King sharing the same space is a godly combo. BK food seems £££ for what you get, but when there’s a slice of pizza and a Sugar Strand Donut to hand too… Glorious.
Joe L — Google review
Car park was a very bad lay out and felt dangerous and I also got blocked in a space at one point because other customers were parking in the road, it was ridiculous, when I was ready to leave I had to do a 5 point turn to leave.  I placed order and pressed button for “Eat in”. But my food came in a brown bag and cup holder, no tray.  My burger was warm, not hot, my partners burger was colder and the bacon was mostly fat. Chips were fine, so we were able to eat something.  Bin was overflowing with liquids leaking from bottom and flowing onto shop floor, we actually couldn’t put our leftovers into the bin, we didn’t to make it worse,  all the dining tables were dirty and sticky which is why I wanted a tray.  Food on the floor under the tables.  Felt very unclean.
Greg W — Google review
Service was very slow, took over 25 mins to get food. Not enough staff on and the place was dirty and grubby. Toilets were awful, dirty, smelly and no toilet paper in the ladies. Will not be visit this Burger King again

Loved our visit today with Bruno. Bike racks inside and out back. Good atmosphere. Friendly and used by cyclists so has to be good. Only flapjacks x 2 types which was a little disappointing but he ho I ate the chocolate one. Coffee was tasty. Menu seemed ok and the food coming out looked appetising. We would go again.

No step-free access but my partner was able to make it inside with his wheelchair. We enjoyed a delicious caramel latte, seriously some of the best coffee I've had during our visit to the Yorkshire Dales. Also very impressive latte art.The orange and chocolate and savory cheese rolls were also delicious. Friendly staff and dogs are welcome.

For cyclists and non cyclists, this place is fantastic for you. I'm not a coffee aficionado but I know what my mouth likes, and my mouth loves the coffee here. The owner is very friendly, George the dog is amazing, and the sweet treats are very tasty. There's room inside to park your bike if you cycle in, and some cool signed bike memorabilia on the walls if that's your thing. Highly highly recommend it. Freshly roasted coffee and it's an independent cafe!

Lovely little find, and really good to see a cafe set up for accommodating cyclists, who are able to park their bikes on a rack just inside the cafe. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere and decor. Loved the bench seating and cushions .. I do like nice tables and seating .. walked past loads of cafés today which didn't tick those boxes for me! Hence my delight at this find :-) Food great and the bacon butty and hot drink deal was really nice and great value at £6. Chai latte and fruit crumblejack cake also highly recommended. Will definitely visit again :-)

I have been ordering from Lemons for over 8 years now. The only problem I’ve had with their food is that they raised the prices 😂 but that’s expected of course over those 8 years. I’ve always loved the food, cheese fries are my favourite along with the popcorn chicken and a garlic pizza. Literally about to order this for dinner rn. I’d be well sad if they ever sold this place as it’s always my go to takeaway as someone who lives in Skipton.

Gone far downhill. Unsure precisely why. They need to upgrade their chips (make sure they’re cooked properly), their kebab meat (invest in a proper shawarma) and fix their vegetables (always soggy and brown). Not good. Has given me a dodgy stomach the last three times

We hired the Venue last minute as we were meant to be having a bbq for our christening but the weather forecast was mixed . They allowed us to bring our own food and also lent us equipment. They provided tablecloths for the tables in the upstairs area and couldn’t do enough for us. They also allowed us to use their oven and hob - even put one of the dishes on to heat for us and even washed my pan for me. They were all so helpful, especially the gentleman (whose name I can’t remember - but you know who you are so thank you for all your help ) We wouldn’t hesitate to book this place again should we ever need to host an event - this place comes highly recommended- it was certainly a find x We cannot comment on the food as we brought our own x

Occasionally this place has a good DJ or live band. It has a very standard selection of drinks, lager, cider, bottles etc. The atmosphere varies drastically depending on what's on, it is often very loud. The service is pretty standard and can be slow at busy times. The toilets are often damaged or doors broken and the queues for the toilets at busy times are horrendous. If you want the sport or the music it can be worth going but otherwise it's really nothing special

Mike L — Google review
I’ve been eating kebabs for well in excess of 20 years, and can honestly say this has to one of the worst I’ve tried. I ordered a mixed kebab on naan last night. Firstly the naan was shop bought and not freshly made, and just tasted cheap and bland. The donner meat was completely tasteless, and I can support one of the previous reviews, in that the chicken tikka and seekh kebab was simply taken from a Tupperware dish from a fridge, microwaved in front of me and then placed inside the shop bought naan. The chicken tikka tasted old and dry, and the seekh kebab wasn’t much better. The best thing about the kebab was the chilli sauce, which was average at best. I managed only a few bites, as the only place the kebab was fit for, was my dustbin. It’s fair to say I will never return to this place for food, and if I could’ve given zero stars in my review then I would have done. I have no doubt this place will be frequented by pissed up people on a weekend, with barely no sense of taste. However, if you like good quality food and your kebabs made with freshly made ingredients and value your health, then I would urge you to avoid this place like the plague.
Stephen H — Google review
Heard many good things about this place and was looking forward to it. Can't fault the service but the product not so great. Tried Donner kebab, nuggets and chips. Nuggets and chips, oven type you find in freezer section of supermarket. Kebab. Meat little slimy and little taste. Salad old looking, pitta not great either. Just about edible. Not for me I'm.afraid.

I have seldom encountered such an exceptional café. Despite my extensive ventures, Exchange Coffee stands out for its traditional ambiance that evokes a sense of bygone eras. To put it simply, their cappuccino surpasses any I have ever tasted. Moreover, my daughter's hot chocolate was delightful and the croissants were impeccable. The amiable staff who clearly demonstrate genuine care complete the experience. Additionally, the prices are reasonable, making it even more extraordinary.
My wife and I visit this shop, every year, and have a daily morning flat white (apart from the days it's closed). Every single day I ask myself the same question: why doesn't every coffee shop make drinks this good? So many shops, including the chains, seem to overcharge for an inferior brew. This is not just the best coffee shop in Skipton, it may well be the best in the country.
Steve T — Google review

Matthew W — Google review
*You’ve only gone and done it!* You’ve officially created *the* best Amaretto coffee I’ve ever tasted. I’d say the best in the world, but not having tried every coffee in the known universe (I’m trying), I can’t realistically confirm this. I do however suspect that it’s unsurpassable. I previously ordered a mocha and a hot chocolate to go from here, which were both very nice but not necessarily out of this world. I don’t order beans at the time, but the staff were so pleasant and friendly and the shop was so nice that I decided to return. I’m an absolute fiend for marzipan, cherries, almonds and amaretto flavours of any kind (I almost perished out of sheer delight when I first tasted Opies amaretto cherries), so I had to try the Amaretto Royale coffee beans. I was not expecting it to be so fragrant, honestly, it would work as a car air freshener if you left the bag open and smells like the best Battenberg cake you’ve ever had. As soon as I got home I brewed it - pour-over as I wasn’t sure if the moka pot would bring out the flavour as well. It made the whole kitchen smell delicious, and I thought it would never be able to taste as good as that scent. I was wrong! You get the beautiful coffee notes and then a gorgeous rush of Amaretto flavour afterwards. I couldn’t be more impressed, and I doubt that I’ll ever be without this coffee now. It’s absolutely perfect, like adding a flavoured syrup to your brew but without the cloying sweetness. I also bought some Colombian coffee bags, and I will update when I try them. I have no doubt that’ll be every bit as delicious as the Amaretto beans. I can’t wait to try every flavour in your shop! Update: Colombian coffee also delicious! Went back to grab some new flavours and remembered to take photos.

Staying in Skipton for a couple of days and decided to give this (quirky) place a try since we were curious. Only had a coffee each, so difficult to rate on food. We dropped in for a quick half on way for food at the cock and bottle and ended up staying. Atmosphere was cracking and the locals made us feel so welcome. Even though our team lost we left there having had a great afternoon
Neil H — Google review
Nice little pub but prices are a bit high. £19.00p for a pint of Guinness, pint shandy and a packet of crisps!!

Lovely traditional pub! Visited here whilst in Skipton and had a great time. Staff were very welcoming and just so down to earth. The pub has a great theme of the local history and just adds to the traditional character of the pub. The food we had was great and everything was reasonably priced. The outdoor terrace and seating was a nice touch as well and we certainly enjoyed it on the sunny day we visited.

A nice friendly pub close to the canal.

Popped in for lunch, I hadthe big bad wolf sandwich, pulled pork, griddle spam and thick cut smoked bacon. An absolute monster sandwich, possibly 1 of the best sandwiches i have ever had. My wife had prawn and Marie Rose sandwich, again fantastic. Highly recommend the chips, superb. Great choice of real ales, staff are very friendly. Highly recommended
Ian R — Google review
Another great local pub with great real ale. Went for a pint of Taylors Landlord. A long time favourite from a legendry Yorkshire brewery. Lovely. Personally I prefer fewer TV's.

Pub
The Beer Engine in Skipton may be small, but it offers a wide selection of beers and ales, making it a great place to discover new beverages. The focus here is on providing excellent drinks in a laid-back atmosphere, with occasional live music nights. Despite its compact size, this friendly micropub welcomes children and dogs inside or you can choose to sit outside on upcycled kegs.
What a little gem , tucked away down a sidewalk 30 seconds walk from the canal basin is a proper real ale pub. If you like ale you'll love it in there. I would definitely recommend this place to stop off.
Carl P — Google review
Great little pub with some fantastic beers available. I enjoyed a 3 x 1/3 selection which were delicious. Unfortunately I had to go otherwise I would have happily stayed longer to sample a few more beverages. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable in recommending drinks. Great social atmosphere and dog friendly too! Great little spot, hopefully be back for some more sampling soon!
J S — Google review
A really warm welcome, relaxed environment with some of the best kept beer i've ever tasted. Can't wait to go back next time I'm passing through Skipton. Alan

Beer lovers visiting Skipton rejoice! You might want to visit a pub or two before coming to The Beer Engine, because you will not want to go anywhere else after that. Fantastic beer, fantastic staff, fantastic place.
Ana G — Google review
Visited this bar with my 2 brothers, had a slight problem with one of our pints. The staff couldn't do enough for us to rectify the problem. Staff truly went above and beyond. We stayed and had more drinks here because of the staff. Thank you for a great experience

Every time we go to Skipton this is top of our to visit list. Love it. Good choice of real ales which I love and ciders for my wife. Great service and decent prices. Keep up the good work.

Nestled in the charming town of Skipton, The Fleece Inn is a delightful pub that captures the essence of traditional British hospitality. On market days, it becomes a perfect pit stop after exploring local shops and hidden alleyways. Upon entering, guests are greeted by an inviting atmosphere that seems to stretch endlessly, reminiscent of stepping into a TARDIS. With ample seating and a lovely beer garden overlooking the canal, it's an ideal spot for enjoying good food and drinks with friends.
Always had a great night in the fleece. Staff have always been friendly and can have a good laugh. The music is always good fun. The drinks are priced really well for a pub/bar these days.

Had a few drinks and laughs at this busy little bar. It was drag night which my golf mates found highly entertaining. The drinks were reasonably priced. Recommend as part of a bar crawl with a group lads. Always entertaining when you are sober and surrounded by merry/drunk/sozzled mates.

Great atmosphere, a proper spit and sawdust pub, we had a great laugh on Karaoke Night. Drag Queen DJ was a blast and Laura and I, banged out Shallow, then laughed about it all the way home 😂
Mark M — Google review
Brilliant pub busy and atmosphere is good in here. Id recommend it over the other pubs on a night out in Skipton. Some nobheads in here but mainly younger in groups but get that everywhere.
Jacob S — Google review
Me and my friend had an amazing time at this pub, appreciating the atmosphere on a night out! We enjoyed the music, DJ set, disco ball and the people were all nice.

What an absolute gem of a pub, right in the heart of Skipton, we went on Saturday ( market day ) did the shops and market and all the little interesting back ally shops etc then decided to call for a pint, you go through the front door and very traditional, then you look forward and the pub just goes on forever, like entering a tardis, lots of seating, really lovely food, lovely staff all smiling, tidy and very pleasant, beer garden at the back looking over the canal, this is what a British pub is about, will defo be back, oh before I forget good selection of beers including real ales. Well done Fleece. One happy couple of customers.

Fast food restaurant
Breakfast restaurant
McDonald's, the iconic fast-food chain celebrated for its burgers and fries, continues to be a popular stop for travelers. Nestled on the outskirts of Skipton town center, it’s an ideal spot to grab a quick meal before exploring the area. While some menu items like the Sausage Egg McMuffin have seen changes that may surprise regulars, patrons can still enjoy warm and freshly prepared food. The restaurant boasts attentive staff who go above and beyond to ensure a pleasant dining experience.
Fantastic service received by a man with long ish dark hair wearing a hi vis at around 8pm Thursday. Was so polite and helpful with every diner. Could just tell he’s a great bloke :)
Lauren B — Google review
Ordered online because it's Sunday and honestly couldn't be bothered to cook. Last delivery was missing a burger meal, meal turns up with another meal and 2 drinks missing!!!! Called the skipton restaurant and was told there was nothing they could do!!! Disgraceful. Said I would be refunded £3.50 for a £9 meal. Should have stayed closed
Lindsay R — Google review
They've refurbished this McDonald's a few times over the years, I remember it being built. However the latest refurbishment is the worst ever personally. All the seating looks outdated and bloody uncomfortable. (Pls excuse my French!!)
David H — Google review
The Sausage Egg McMuffin has changed. That was my go-to meal here. No more. I think the muffin is smaller or something not as I remember. The pancakes were good but the plastic knife can't cut them. Lucky for me I had my trusty just legal knife with me. That did the trick even though I did get some odd looks from some of the customers. The PG Tips tea went down a treat.
Richard B — Google review
Bobbed in for breakfast. Staff the most attentive I’ve seen in a McDonald’s. I’ve never felt the need to write a McDonald’s review before but it warranted one. I thought they were all the same
Bazil R — Google review
Been here a few times now with my wife and we both have being enjoying it since we moved nearby. Lovely staff and food has been on point every time. Also, we love the new refurb. Looks amazing in here.
Roger E — Google review
Busy McDonald's just on very edge of Skipton town centre. Ideal if wanting a cheap meal before visiting Skipton itself and for us the toilets are better than using carpark ones after driving 25/30miles to Skipton. Food here is ok warm and freshly prepared. Service is good and toilets reasonably clean.
Kimberley S — Google review
Best McDonald's I've had in years, why? The manager did a brilliant job in the kitchen and my food was actually hot! 😊
