Spanish restaurant
La Feria is a chic restaurant and bar located on Cold Bath Road in Harrogate, offering a taste of traditional Spanish cuisine with a focus on tapas and rotisserie chicken. The menu features authentic dishes inspired by the flavors of Andalusia, including specialties like Croquetas de jamon y manchego and Gambas al pil-pil. In addition to their delicious food, La Feria also boasts an all-Spanish wine list and artisan craft beers to complement your meal.
Great experience! We went for tapas which came out quickly after ordering, the food was amazing and our waiter was really chatty and friendly! Great atmosphere and we also got a dessert for a party member’s birthday. Highly recommend.
Grace A — Google review
Bit of a birthday treat but enjoyed by the entire family. Absolutely faultless again, and definitely one to try if you are Harrogate bound. The black pudding, deep fried aubergine, and prawns were definite highlights, but we all recommend the roasted chicken! A must. Do leave room for dessert though.
David S — Google review
Absolutely fantastic special meal for our wedding anniversary. The service was super efficient and friendly and the food was out of this world! Highly recommend for gluten free options too. As a coeliac I got so excited by the number of tapas available that our waiter told us we had ordered too much food. We assured him we would manage it and demolished every single dish! 9 tapas was definitely extravagant, but I couldn't pick any to leave out 🤣
Becky E — Google review
Tried this place based on its high local rating on Google, but honestly found it underwhelming. The full chicken was completely bland—lacked any seasoning or flavor. I’ve had more flavorful roast chicken from M&S. The Gambas were listed as “served with bread” on the menu, but no bread ever came. Padrón peppers were tiny, overly greasy, and over half were burnt. The champiñones were also way too oily, with the oil completely overpowering any taste. On top of that, staff came over three separate times to ask if we were done and ready for them to clear the plates—felt rushed and unwelcome. Not somewhere I’d return to.
Summer — Google review
Had a nice meal at La Feria. Menu was varied but would've liked more options. Small tapas options was enough for 2 sharing but would need multiple of dishes if for more people. Came relatively quickly but the meatballs were ordered were cold which was a little disappointing. The sharing board was lovely but some of the meats were obviously end cuts so a bit dry. Some of the staff were very pleasant but our server wasn't very friendly. I would go go again but it wasn't amazing.
Verity J — Google review
Absolutely loved it here! Was my first time going yesterday and I couldn't have enjoyed myself more. Staff were polite and friendly! I wish I had gotten our waitresses name because she made the evening perfect and I would've loved to give this entire review in favor of her. Aside from service, food was delicious! And very affordable! I was surprised to see how low our bill was with everything we got! Will definitely go again and cannot wait.
Ann-Marie U — Google review
Amazing Tapas restaurant with a really succinct menu, meaning you don't feel you missed out to much on what you couldn't order. Food was delicious and staff attentive and friendly.

Turkish restaurant
Konak Meze is a bright and classy restaurant located in Harrogate, offering traditional Turkish dishes, desserts, and coffee. The menu features a fantastic two-course set menu with chargrilled meats, fish, and stuffed vegetables that are grilled over coals for an authentic Mediterranean taste. Chef Fettah Alkoc brings over 35 years of experience to revolutionize Turkish food for the British public.
It is a very cozy place with welcoming and friendly atmosphere, nice music playing in the background and the best food served in the city. The service was amazing, all members of the staff were smiley and chatty. The food was fresh, apetising and very well cooked. We've tried everything from starters through mains and up to teas, coffees and desserts. It all tastes great! Nice lunch deals, too!

Absolutely amazing food and service, had a late dinner with family, impeccable service, food was lovely.
Nicky K — Google review
Excellent meal last night when Mrs.S and I celebrated our anniversary. The food was delicious. The house wine (no.3 on the list) was a perfect choice and well chilled. The service was great, the staff were very friendly. The bill was good value. This was our third visit and it was great. Very highly recommended.
Mark S — Google review
The restaurant boasts a cozy atmosphere and exceptionally friendly service. However, in terms of food flavors, it falls short of being among my top 5 Turkish restaurants in the UK. The beef and chicken skewers are disappointingly chewy, and the Turkish bread is merely average. While the ambiance is pleasant, the cuisine doesn't quite meet expectations for a standout Turkish dining experience.
Jorvik Z — Google review
The food was absolutely delicious, everything was season perfectly well and we enjoyed every bite. Service was also great, definitely recommend coming here for a dinner.
Anna B — Google review
Beautiful food, excellent service. One of the nicest restaurant experiences we have had for a while.
Jumus J — Google review
Very good. We didn't book ahead, and thankfully, they had availability on a Saturday evening. We were celebrating a birthday and only had to wait for a few minutes at the bar for a table to become available. Service was very good, but there was no complimentary drink or dessert for the celebration. However, it was well worth the visit and reasonably priced.
Louise D — Google review
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! Can't recommend enough. Lovely ambience, friendly lovely staff, and the food was incredible. Can't believe the price for the value, will definitely be going back. Felt very safe too with covid regulations, and they cater to dietary requirements like gluten free. Thought I'd posted a review, went a few weeks ago for my dad's birthday! Basically, please go! Every part of the meal was delicious.

Nestled in the heart of Harrogate, William & Victoria is a charming restaurant and wine bar that has been delighting patrons for over 40 years. Just a stone's throw from the picturesque Valley Gardens and Royal Pump Rooms, this family-run gem offers an inviting atmosphere with its classy upstairs dining room and lively ground-floor bistro.
What a fantastic dining experience! We visited William & Victoria in Harrogate and were thoroughly impressed from start to finish. The food was absolutely excellent — beautifully cooked, full of flavour, and clearly made with care and quality ingredients. The atmosphere was warm, relaxed, and full of character — the perfect setting for a memorable meal. What really stood out, though, was the service. The wait staff were fantastic: friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about what they do. We opted for the early bird menu, which offered incredible value without compromising on quality or choice. It’s rare to find such a great combination of price, service, and superb food. We’ll definitely be returning and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend William & Victoria to anyone visiting Harrogate!
Derek H — Google review
Lovely wine bar/restaurant with a great menu & specials. The food was excellent. Starter of Harrogate Blue Pear & Walnut salad was delicious combination of flavours & main Lamb was also delicious. Sadly too full for dessert. Staff attentive & courteous. Lovely welcome as soon as we walked in. Perfect.
Jennie G — Google review
I had a brilliant evening meal here and if you’re looking for top quality food in a cosy and unpretentious setting then I’d recommend. On arrival it really does feel like a country pub and this vibe continues in the downstairs dining section. The menu is surprisingly large, as is the drinks list with plenty of wine options available by the glass too. Prices might look at little steep at first but given the large portion sizes and quality of the food it’s justified. The scotch egg starter was exceptional as a starter and both the lamb henry and wellington mains were cooked perfectly. Given the size of the portions we weren’t able to sample the deserts but there’s a decent enough choice. My only complaint about the whole meal was for the service. The staff were very good and knowledgeable about the menu, able to offer recommendations and friendly, but everything was just far too fast. We were asked for our order within minutes of sitting down, there was practically no gap between courses, and even the bill was presented within seconds. Knowing this I’d request pauses at the start of ordering in the future, because completing the whole experience in less than an hour was far from relaxing. Otherwise a wonderful restaurant and I’d fully recommend.
Steve B — Google review
We had a lovely early evening meal here. Good range and selection of choice on the menu.., plus a specials board. Nice cozy feel to the place. A good atmosphere, with bustling bar area. Good ingredients used. Good cooking with a nice light touch on the seasoning. Friendly attentive service. A great experience.
Jeff S — Google review
We had our wedding meal at Will and Vic’s and everyone left happy. There was a wide selection and lots of gluten free options. We’ve also had a brilliant Sunday lunch here. Highly recommend.
C — Google review
Delicious food, amazing wine selection and great service and atmosphere. Definitely coming back! Try the charcuterie board for dessert!!!
Angelica M — Google review
Amazing food with excellent menu choices. Staff were professional with our group, explained everything and didn't rush us.
Rinda S — Google review
Soup was very flavorful but would have been better if the included bread came with some butter. The venison wellington pasty was nice but the meat even though it was cooked well was chewy. The service was first class. The young gentleman was very attentive. Have been going to W&V for 30 years. Probably will not come back. Service is excellent but the food quality is not there anymore.

Absolutely delicious. This was our second time here, when we come to the bridal week, we visit this place. The food is absolutely delicious and tasty. We loved the salad and the pad Thai. Actually every single dish was delicious. The service was fast. We had a great time
Monika V — Google review
Lovely food, lovely, friendly staff. We enjoy, but rarely visit, Thai restaurants so we opted for a banquet for 2, which gives a selection of starters and mains. The food was delicious, not too spicy (the heat was largely in the slices of chilli garnish, so easy enough to avoid). The food had lovely, bright flavours and by the end we were absolutely stuffed. Really enjoyable and will happily visit again

Fabulous food and the service was great, really good detail in their service. Thank you thank you 🙏

We had shared starter M2 on menu Main course number 29 and 35 on menu with sides fried rice and noodles. Had dessert sticky toffee cake and fudge cake safe to say we were very full and would highly recommend the place to any one. Service was excellent Forgot to take pictures of starter and dessert but they were fantastic.

Loved it!! Came for my birthday with my family and they had separate kids menus for the smaller ones. Cardamom Black @ The Old Empire Theatre is a corner restaurant with a striking red and black interior that serves creative Pan South Asian cuisine. The restaurant is located in the former Empire Theatre, which was originally built as a Methodist Chapel in 1872 before being converted into a theatre in 1910. The dramatic interior features ornate ironwork proscenium arches and rhinestone-adorned walls, creating an opulent dining experience.
We can't sing the praises of this wonderful discovery as high as they deserve. An elegant, modern and sophisticated decor with extremely competent , friendly and attentive staff. The food is excellent and copious. Love this place. Our new home from home.
Martin H — Google review
Food was amazing and very flavorful. Service was spot on, and we were treated like family. Will come here again, our favorite Indian food in Harrogate. My wife had the vegetarian thali with vegetarian tacos. I ordered the garlic lamb and chicken sizzler. It was so all so delicious.
Shelan S — Google review
Service was attentive at first but tailed off. Although all waiting staff were busy, there didn’t seem to be enough for the number of diners in on a Saturday night. The restaurant is stunning inside, and there’s a wide variety on the menu to choose from. The meal was most promising at the beginning, with delicious starters which were beautifully presented. Time taken for starters and mains to appear was just right. Sadly, just before our mains arrived, two couples (dining separately on the tables next to ours) started discussing loudly how disappointed they were with the food, called for taxis and walked out. This was not noticed/dealt with by staff. This rather ruined the atmosphere, not least because the abandoned food took a while to be cleared away. My special biryani was disappointing. Had to complain about the totally overcooked poached egg on top which was replaced (I declined to have the whole dish recooked). The dish’s ingredients were listed as king prawn, freshwater prawn, lamb, chicken and mushroom. King prawn was hidden and in the singular. Only about 4 other small prawns. Lamb was the main ingredient. The monkfish and king prawn saag was better. We were given a discount when we came to pay and the manager appeared concerned to hear about the egg.
Janette G — Google review
We frequently dine in and take away at this one of a kind restaurant. The flavourful food is a fresh take on Indian classics alongside delicious creative fusion dishes. Cardamom Black is one of our favourites and would highly recommend. The staff are friendly and attentive. The cocktails pack a delightful punch that matches the vibrant and opulent decor. Whether you decide to go with a classic or go more adventurous you will not be disappointed.
Maria G — Google review
Excellent Indian restaurant. Really good food. Really friendly staff. Attentive and helpful. Raihan was especially good, helping us to choose the most interesting dishes. The food was well spiced, and the portions were just right. We were visiting Harrogate for our wedding anniversary as we do most years. We've been to loads of Indian restaurants across the country, and this is going straight into our top ten. It's housed in a really interesting building that used to be a theatre. We will definitely go to Cardamon Black again.
Kevin S — Google review
Came here for an engagement celebration 18 of us in total, they put us up in the top right corner on 2 separate tables, it would have been much better if they put the table into a U shape. We sat down around 6, came for the order around 6.30 someone took starters someone else took mains. By 1935 food started to come out, no order at all my mains came first, drunken prawns, the alcohol just swished on my plate and wouldn't light, so it got taken back and brought back out again, where a pathetic flame was present, unfortunately this did not burn off the alcohol sufficiently and a couple of the prawns did not taste great and had a mushy consistency. My starter still hadn't appeared. My friends who ordered the sizzle plate unfortunately had no sizzle and the meat was undercooked. One person ordered the chicken bhuna which was nice but her starter never turned up at all and another ordered onion bahjis but they were frozen in the middle. We had lots of missing dishes and only one person said sorry, they really seemed like they couldn't be bothered.my starter eventually came but it looked very much like my main and tasted very similar again with one of the prawns been a strange consistency. Unfortunately we won't be returning

Just been and had to write a review straight away. This place is phenomenal. Food is authentic, spiced beautifully, cooked and presented perfectly, service is bang on with smiles, the decor imo, is like a little indian palace. So glad we went there. Fish and seafood restaurant
The Drum & Monkey Harrogate is an elegant and inviting seafood restaurant that has been a beloved establishment for over three decades. Located in a city with a vibrant student population, the restaurant exudes warmth and coziness while specializing in French-influenced seafood dishes. The interior offers an intimate and relaxed atmosphere, making it a favorite among both locals and visitors.
I had a lovely dinner here a few weeks ago on a stopover in Harrogate on some business travel - Saturday night and though it was calm when we arrived, they were full throughout the evening from there on, so I do recommend booking as we had done. Overall, the food was very fresh and cooked very well - always something a little more tricky when it comes to fish restaurants in my opinion. Despite how busy it was, the staff were warm and very attentive - the ladies working on the upper floor that night clearly worked very well as a team. The baked alaska for dessert was a tad too sweet for mine and my dinner partners' taste, but that's certainly preference. If you like fish and seafood, you won't go wrong with a visit here.

This place was recommended to me, and went there just for the seafood platter, and absolutely loved it. Lovely place, lovely atmosphere, and oh that seafood! Everything super fresh and tasty, and really great value for that quality and amount of food. Lovely wine selection, too, and staff were so friendly and flexible with our booking. Absolutely recommended!

Perfect. This was just the ticket.... delicious food (seafood is the speciality, but there were non-seafood vegetarian options too) and friendly staff. I loved the decor, the background music and really enjoyed the lunchtime menu. I had the smoked scallop and crab terrine to start, followed by the delicious fish pie, topped with a generous layer of crispy cheese and a crisp white wine.

Italian restaurant
Stuzzi, a cozy restaurant with locations in Harrogate and Leeds, draws inspiration from the small dishes found in northern Italy. The menu features fresh pasta and changes weekly, offering an array of new items to try. The venue exudes a charming ambiance perfect for a date night or casual meet-up over Aperols. On Sundays, they serve up delectable Porchetta alongside traditional roast dinner trimmings.
Good service with good food. Small plates restaurant with decent wines and cocktails. Probably one of my fav in Harrogate. We always visit when we are up here. Food can be fairly rich but goes well with a glass of wine or two! Price range is around £40pp including drinks. I would give it a 4.8 out of 5
Dulan C — Google review
Enjoyed a delicious dinner of small plates and a cocktail at Stuzzi while in Harrogate overnight visiting an elderly relative and staying a few doors away at The Marmot. I was glad I had made a reservation the week before as Stuzzi is justifiably popular and filled up fast from around 7pm and there was a nice buzzy atmosphere. Service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing and I appreciated my waiter’s guidance which helped me avoid over-ordering (as everything sounded delicious so I was struggling to choose). The arancini are huge so one was plenty for me and nicely complemented by the light and fresh carrot salad and the cured sea trout.
Caroline Q — Google review
Came here for my birthday and it was a good choice! We liked the tapas style Italian and the food was lovely. One slight feedback is the Pizzette way to salty!
S T — Google review
One of the best meals we had in 2024. Visited in December during the snow storm and found cover in Stuzzi. We sat in the outside but covered area which was lovely and cosy with the heat lamps. Food and service were both exceptional. Had a great mix of dishes, with our highlights being the parsnip salad and burrata. The dessert board we got was also incredible but I think we bit off a bit more than we could chew. Would probably be better for 3-4 people rather than 2! Prices are more than fair for the quality and portions you receive.
Jenny — Google review
One of Harrogate’s best. The delicious rotating menu, the service, the ambience never disappoints. Love food innovation while balancing a homely feeling. The arancini is always to die for! Highly recommend and a great date night spot

Every time we visit Harrogate, we always eat at Stuzzi, and tonight was just as delicious as always. Cannot fault anything. Great place, food was fantastic, tried the beef sandwich+cup of soup of the day ,was a perfect post-gym pick me up 🤗. Beef was flavorful, juicy and a good portion. Had a mango-pineapple-passion fruit smoothie too, which was very delicious. Highly recommend!!! 🤌🏻🫶🏻 Good value for money.

We had our wedding reception at Starling in October 2025 for 80 guests. Joe was a great host and helped us make our day super special. As did all the staff at Starling who worked really hard to make our day run smoothly. The guests commented on how nice the pizzas were. The atmosphere was great and there was a good split for guests between the barn being the DJ room and the middle floor being a more relaxed area where people could talk. The service at the bar was great and efficient. We would not hesitate to recommend Starling for wedding or event.

Last stop of the evening for Casta and Jorvic. A CAMRA 2025 Good Beer Guide watering hole. Lovely one roomed bar wraps around the serving area, up to seven real ales. Well worth finding, good mix of people. Closes at 10pm? Another pint of Daleside Blonde. Yummy for my Tummy says Casta

Just came across this place whilst looking for cafe to get a coffee 10.15am on a Sunday. Lots of staff, all friendly. Can't comment on food as only wanted a coffee. Place started to get busy for a Sunday morning. Noticed a few tables had been reserved, so obviously the place to be.

Coffee shop
Bean & Bud is a vibrant and cozy independent coffee shop located on Commercial Street in Harrogate. The interior boasts a bold and bright aesthetic with predominantly red walls contrasting beautifully with the wooden counter and flooring. This small establishment offers both indoor and outdoor seating, making it an ideal spot to relax while exploring the surrounding independent shops. Founded by Ruth and Hayden in 2010, Bean & Bud takes pride in serving top-quality coffee and tea, evident from their extensive menu.
I've been meaning to come here for a long time, I can safely say it was worth the wait, the coffee is excellent. They know what they are doing they've been around since 2010. Paid a visit in February this year. Harrogate has a vibrant speciality coffee scene, this is one of many of said coffee shops in the town, also one of the earliest and most established. I had to wait for a table and for the coffee late Saturday Morning, that gives a clue to how good it was. I wasn't disappointed. Latte art was good too, it was a shame to drink it. Even dad liked it and that's saying a lot.

The flat white is my solid choice again @beanandbud—creamy, smooth, and satisfying. But the real attractive point is the espresso options: whether you’re going for the deep, berry-sweet Costa Rican or the bright, peachy freshness of the Ethiopian, there’s something we can try. They also have a filter selection of coffee beans and decaf. Buttery and flaky, with a rich almond filling that isn’t overly sweet, it balances out the sharp espresso flavors, creating a comforting balance. It’s the kind of place that brings together quality, warmth, and a bit of a twist. A visit here is a must for any coffee enthusiast looking for both consistency and innovation. Espresso: * Costa Rica

Lovely staff, great quality coffee and the brownies are to die for! Also had a lovely bacon sandwich. Outdoor and indoor seating and a water bowl for the dogs :)

Great service - smooth and efficient and a clean and tidy location - delicious Lady Bakewell tart - fantastic Brew batch coffee. The olive sandwich could be improved by a better quality bread - the content is too heavy for the flimsy bread - maybe a sour dough roll of sorts or simply a stronger bread - which would prevent the s/w from falling apart when lifted up! Nevertheless a delicious sandwich despite the challenges! Previously purchased - cheese and pickle toasted was a great choice - the toasting brought out the great flavours of the cheese and pickle!

Very unwelcoming service. Went today with my parents. My elderly dad walks with a stick as he has Parkinson’s. He walks slowly but is mobile. As we entered the staff gave him a very unfriendly once up and down look that made us feel very very unwelcome. Service was terse and unfriendly and all we wanted to do was leave asap. My dad was going to stay while we ran some errands, but we had our drink and my dad decided to go and sit in the car as he felt that unwelcome. We even got a very terse farewell as we left. I’d rather spend my money elsewhere where someone like my dad is more welcomed and not made to feel uncomfortable. I def wouldn’t bother if you disabled at this place.

Ordered a flat white, a mocha, a bacon sandwich, and a goat cheese, chili jam, and rocket sandwich. The bacon sandwich had a high bread to bacon in my opinion but everything tasted wonderful. Service was swift and polite. Bright and cheerful. We very much appreciated the care, attention, and skill of the baristas. Will return to try other caffeinated creations and sweets and possibly the soup.

Bean and Bud is still the best coffee to be had in the town center of Harrogate. That comes at a price but it's worth paying. I will say, if you someone who like scorching hot coffee, you won't like it here. They make it at a readily drinkable temperature that retains all the flavor and sweetness. The cake offerings are excellent but, again, on the pricey side. You get what you pay for. Seating is comfortable enough. A few outside seats. You're face with rows of parked cars but the road isn't as busy as most in the town center. Happily, they have a no smoking or vaping policy. This is also a great place to buy coffee beans, loose leave tea and all the related paraphernalia. In a nutshell, highly recommended if you like really tasty coffee and don't mind paying for it. Also worth a mention, despite what a previous review say, they do do cappuccino!

Nestled within a beautifully restored Victorian building that once served as Harrogate's Royal Baths, the Royal Baths Chinese Restaurant offers an exquisite dining experience steeped in history. The restaurant features stunning interiors adorned with golden pillars and intricate arches, creating an upscale atmosphere perfect for enjoying a variety of culinary delights.
Stunning setting for a Chinese restaurant. Good bar and private dining rooms. Very broad selection of spirits and wines. Great service, good dishes (maybe not so much their dumplings) but everything else was very nice. Good atmosphere, would recommend.

A good restaurant in the area tailored for the likeness of local British. I'm sure they'll find the food excellent. Yet as an Asian from the East, will find the food deviated. That cannot be said good or bad, to be honest. It's only a subjective opinion. The service and the atmosphere, however is excellent. Anyway, I don't think give it a try is not a wise choice.

Great restaurant, very attentive, friendly but discreet staff, really good dining experience. Soft shell crab best I’ve had, duck spring rolls excellent, beef in main course melt in the mouth. Not expensive. Can’t recommend highly enough. Beautiful decor, lovely open kitchen, delightful washrooms. 5 stars.

Food was amazing, staff friendly, the poshest Chinese we've ever eaten at. Building is amazing and very clean. Option of chop sticks or fork on the tables. Food was quick and very tasty. Even the toilets were high class quality. Highly recommend this restaurant for lunchtime. It was very quiet when we were there but we like it like that.

Exceptional service ( apart from non smiling but wasn't sure if this was a cultural difference ). Staff always observant; water glasses and wine glasses topped up as needed without needing to attract their attention. Food was hot when arrived( not just warm) and all in the party of 7 enjoyed all the food. Extensive selection on menu and would return. However, I just wish the serving staff would smoke a little.

Wow! Not sure what else to say really?! The food, amazing. The service, fantastic. The venue, stunning. Loved it so much we booked to go again before we left, at the weekend for when family are visiting. The staff were telling us that through covid they were shut for 18 months and while shut have had a lot of work done to the restaurant, so if you went before covid, definitely worth going again. They have an open kitchen, which I always love in restaurants. A superb wine and drinks menu, never seen so many whiskeys available and I'd certainly recommend the Hong Kong draft larger! The staff were brilliant, all the food came out presented beautifully and tasted as good as it looked. Thank you to the team!

The Fat Badger is a stylish English pub located in Harrogate, with a terrace and traditional food. The pub offers a cozy atmosphere, especially during colder months, and has outdoor seating for warmer days. It's known for its roast dinners featuring tender meat and seasonal vegetables, as well as its Sunday set menu offering starters and desserts. The menu caters to various dietary preferences with vegan and gluten-free options, along with small plates for those who prefer variety.
We had a really nice Sunday lunch here. The Sunday set menu offers great value for money. The roast beef was good and came with the biggest Yorkshire pudding I've ever seen. There's some vegetarian opinions on the menu. It's well worth getting the side portion of Cauliflower and cheese sauce. They had a good range of local beers on offer. It is accessible to wheelchair users, but it's very tight to get up the ramp to the side of the main entrance.

Absolutely brilliant on all counts. Great gasto-pub. Love the theme, the atmosphere. Great location, the seating outside is perfect. We had two dogs with us and they're more than welcome outside. Umbrellas and good heaters to keep you warm when the weather is a little less than ideal. All the staff were super friendly and helpful and the food was brilliant! We ended up eating at The Fat Badger in York as well 2 days later because we loved it so much. Both locations were equally as good! When we're next in the area we'll definitely eat here. Thoroughly recommend. Even parking on site! (Although a little more expensive than in town, but for the convenience totally worth it! )

A great find. A lovely old bar style in a grand building in the heart of Harrogate. We popped in en route to York and just wanted a quick sandwich. We chose just a cheese and chutney sandwich, thinking it was just going to be basic and something to fill a gap. However, it came in a beautiful, warm crusty bread. The sweet onion chutney was wonderful and this was accompanied by a nice, leafy salad in a pleasant dressing and some crisps. We really enjoyed it. I must say, the main meals looked a bit pricey, but we were OK with the sandwich price, just under £9, if I remember correctly. No worries with beers and lagers, a good selection. I chose Black Sheep beer, which went well with the sandwich. The staff were pleasant and helpful. There is a parking charge of £1.50 per hour at the covered car park adjacent. You can pay outside or inside the pub. We'll certainly be popping in when we are in Harrogate again.

Great food, great staff. We had a beautiful meal at the Fat Badger. Our evening started with a drink at the bar; very busy as this was a Friday night, but the bar staff were really efficient and we didn't have to wait for long to be served despite the crowds. A shout out to Esther who was so pleasant and welcoming and suggested some white wines for us. She also provided directions for where to go for our meal. We sat in the side dining room which was busy but was quiet (not too quiet) but still a nice atmosphere. Unfortunately I did not get the name of our waiter who was just excellent (I think he may have been French?) Delicious chowder soup to start with and we opted for the duck (cooked to perfection) and Risotto (a starter which came as a main). The wine was beautiful as well, and while we didn't opt for dessert (despite them looking gorgeous!) we did have a lovely coffee and liqueur to finish. We headed back to the bar after which was even busier and we were served by Esther again, who asked how our meal was. A pleasant surprise that she remembered us as the bar was standing room only at this stage! We managed to find a table in the corridor outside the bar which was also very busy and still had a great atmosphere. I would definitely recommend Fat Badger for the food, atmosphere, ambience and service - top notch

Oddly not in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide nor hosting a Cask Marque but a superb selection of 10 real ales. ( Follow The Great British Pub Crawl on YouTube for pub tips when visiting anywhere new to you. ) Casta saw that Tetley's bitter was on sale. Joshua Tetley's Leeds brewery closed a long time ago but whoever brews this is still doing a good job. A very upmarket pub with a super beer patio wrapping round the the front and side.

Tasty Lunch after the Harrogate Flower Show. Came on recommendation, I don't think we'd have seen it if not as it's tucked away down a side street. Very quiet for a late lunch on a Saturday afternoon but didn't put us off, it would be nice to go back on an evening. We both chose from the fixed price menu which was £19.95 for 2 courses. Starter, my friend ordered the mixed dips, she said it was the best hummus she'd ever had! We both had the mixed souvlaki for main which was a chicken and halloumi skewer, It was to die for, soooo tasty! Finished off with a chocolate fudge cake for me. All washed down with a bottle of Mythos and a large glass of white wine. Absolutely superb, would go back in a heartbeat!

Good; but not great. We were so looking forward to some authentic and tasty Greek food for dinner - and after reading all the 5* reviews the bar was set high! The food we chose was the Vegetarian meze and mixed souvlaki. The starters and middles were very good! But both mains were disappointing. There was veggie moussaka and spanakopita tasted reheated and bland. The mixed souvlaki was okay but it was £14.65 for two meat kebabs and a mound of rice with salsa (??), that didn’t feel like great value. The drinks prices are very high so be aware if you’re planning to have a few beers or wines with your meal. Overall it was good, but as Greece is our second home, it wasn’t good enough to be 5* for us.

Had a fabulous meal at Mykonos. It's a long time since since we have had Greek food, either in Greece or the UK, and we were excited to try it. The moussaka and lamb kleftiko did not disappoint! Delicious desserts, great atmosphere and very efficient and welcoming staff. We're sorry we're only staying for one night in Harrogate as we would definitely make this a regular choice of restaurant.

Excellent upmarket Emilia-Romagnan ristorante with a great-value set menu and particularly gorgeous filled pasta. Here two starters, a delightful vitello tonnato and crab croquettes (billed as cakes); also two seafood ravioli, one of sea bass and the other of lobster, both delicious and the sauces demanding spooning. Not pictured: a tiramisu with subtle aniseed flavouring from a sambuca sauce, and a refined and beautiful Amarone. Superb.

Went tonight as part of a very large group (60+) and the staff were simply amazing at accommodating us and making us feel incredibly safe and welcome. The food was divine and so fresh. Would definitely look to come here again if I’m in Harrogate again.

Visited Sasso twice in 5 evenings while on holiday. Best food we had all week, hence our second visit. I asked for cocktail/mocktail but was told there was no menu for that. A few mi uses later the waiter cane over and asked if I would like him to make me a cocktail, more sweet or sour. I said sour. He came back with the most tasty cocktail I have ever enjoyed. Ginger ale/cranberry/lychee. The pasta dish was superb, as was the Tiramisu. We were not disappointed on our second visit either. Pork belly and lemon tart, to put it simply.

I’ve mixed views on this place. Overall it sadly didn't live up to expectations. Located in the converted basement of a house initial impressions are good when you enter with a high level of decoration and art in the walls. We found a lacking in atmosphere and the food was very rich although very well presented. Ambience was low and it felt like the staff were listening in to conversations. For some I’m sure this is fine and there are plenty of great views - not one for us. Over priced for what it is.

Nestled in the charming town of Harrogate, The Tannin Level has been a culinary gem since 1985, celebrated for its exquisite contemporary dining and extensive wine selection. This beloved establishment prides itself on using locally-sourced ingredients to craft seasonal dishes that cater to all tastes—from light lunches and delightful sandwiches to pre-theatre meals and an impressive A La Carte menu.
Excellent. Respectful, old school service, but as somewhat of an old-schooler myself, I enjoyed it. Menu full of interesting choices and certainly more than a couple on each course I would have tried, which is great for a small(ish) menu. Food clearly prepared with love and plated with care and attention. Chefs respectful of the ingredients and all cooked perfectly. Not too much fuss on the plate. A couple more choices of AF drinks would have been nice. I'll be keeping an eye on the menu through the year to see what seasonal changes are made. I will be back. Good value

Lack luster this time! We had been to the Tannin Level on a previous visit to Harrogate, enjoyed our evening so we thought we would make a return visit. We were early week this time and the restaurant was not full, to be excepted or a sign? Either way, 'ambiance' was a bit flat. Menu looked fine, offered fairly traditional, local dishes, nothing that jump out though. Service was lack luster and somewhat unprofessional, I suspect due to a lack of training & supervision, but this rather detracted from the evening. Food was good but certainly nothing wow. I would think twice before returning.
Richard C — Google review
Came here with my family for a meal a few weeks ago. As it was a Sunday, you can only order from the Sunday Lunch menu. That was fine because the boudin noir I had for my starter was very tasty as was the main course, which was the Tannin Level burger, very succulent. Service was very good apart from a wait of around 40 minutes between when our starters had been taken away and our main courses had been brought to the table. The restaurant was fairly busy though so maybe that was why there was a slightly longer wait between courses but a brilliant time here and the atmosphere was very good amongst customers and staff.

First visit since Harrogate Brewery takeover. Great pint of ale. Nice bar chap. It feels like they've sanitised the place. It's a bit cold and flat in atmosphere. A bit clinical? It had pub warms as the Old Bell when MTT had it. Music too loud and seems to be for the staff not the customer. 🤷

A great stop off for lunch before we returned home. Their chips are great. The pies were very very tasty indeed but the crust a little hard for my liking (personal taste). A lovely proper pub feel. Great staff and really clean. I would like to try their Sunday lunch next time! Xx

Nice pub. Order from the bar. Food comes in a reasonable time. Great burger, tasted great, well cooked. Was a bit taken back by the size, as it seemed a bit small. Saw other burgers that were the same. Guess it is the norm now. Would have paid more for full sized burger. Excellent pint of stout.

We didn't eat on this visit, so the review is just about the bar. The Old Bell Tavern is a long established pub. It has had a few refurbishments over recent years and I think the latest one has made a significant improvement. There's a cosy and welcoming atmosphere, with the dark walls, wooden floors and choice of lighting. There's background music, but not too loud. The bar is well stocked with draught and bottled beers, plus a good selection of spirits which should meet most people's expectations. The bar staff were friendly and happy to chat when it's not too busy.

Brunch restaurant
Hoxton North is a London-inspired cafe located in Harrogate, known for its modern breakfast and brunch offerings as well as lunch and spirits. Founded by Timothy and Victoria Bosworth, the independent cafe draws inspiration from the trendy coffee shop and cafe bar scene in Hoxton, London. Originally opened on Parliament Street in 2013, it later relocated to a larger venue due to high demand for its exceptional food and specialist coffees.
@hoxtonnorth is a place for a proper chilled afternoon after visiting Valley Gardens Harrogate. We ordered a total of 2 foods and 1 drink. Firstly, the French toast with smoked bacon and maple syrup—so fluffy and delicious, with good sweet and savory combo. Since one of us can’t eat eggs, it was great to find the sausage on a toasted buttered brioche bun. The brioche was soft, buttery, while the sausage was juicy and packed with flavor. For drink, we went for the Refreshing lemonade and blood orange, which was surprising and we do recommend you to try. With a cozy vibe and a laid-back atmosphere, it’s the kind of café where you can comfortably kick back and take your time. Whether you’re catching up with a friend or just taking a breather, it’s got that perfect, easygoing feel. By fishenjoylife

Went here for the first time at the weekend as recommended by the girlfriend. Had a delicious ‘The Hoxton’ breakfast. Everything was superb. Tasty and succulent! Flavours were not in short supply and bursting out of the plate full of ingredients that was placed in front of me! Got me some avocado on my breakfast, because, well, why not. The guy on the coffee machine made us some super tasty latte’s. I later found out he was the owner. Very impressed. It was busy but still felt like service was fast and efficient. Staff were on the ball. Dog friendly too as we had our little terror with us. He was well behaved to be fair. Will be back again

Amazing brunch and breakfast place 🤍 Was intending to book for Sunday morning but it was fully booked. So I woke up early in advance before I left the town on the next day, luckily I was able to see her a seat via walk-in and it didn’t disappoint me!! Had Egg Royale and it’s absolutely delicious 🍳 Their hot chocolate tasted really nice too ☕️ it was neither too heavy nor milky and was just right 🤌🏻

Restaurant
Nestled on Kings Road in the vibrant heart of Harrogate, Gianni's Brio Restaurant and Pizzeria has been a beloved destination for authentic Italian cuisine since 1983. This bright and modern eatery is perfect for families, offering a warm atmosphere where everyone feels welcome. Now managed by Marco, the son of founder Gianni, who still plays an active role alongside his family members, this restaurant prides itself on accommodating various dietary needs.
This restaurant is amazing, the food is amazing, the service is friendly, it is sort of quiet around 8:50. The portions are perfect and shareable. It is wheelchair friendly with a ramp, and stairs. If you are planning Italian in Harrogate (or around), go here!

Excellent as always. The food here is always incredible, absolutely top quality dining and service. Honestly cannot recommend it enough, we live hundreds of miles away in Scotland but Gianni's is still our favourite restaurant.

I have to say I have been here before in the week when it was a little quieter. This time, it's a Friday evening to celebrate my wife's birthday. As ever the food was amazing we had liver and veal for mains both of which were spot on. But I have to say the service and the overall experience wasn't great. I had mentioned my wifes birthday in the online booking, which wasn't even referenced. It's a pity as you have an abundance of independent restaurants in Harrogate, so you would expect more.

Delicious food - from the bread and tapenade to the lovely ice cream and mango sorbet. Can particularly recommend the pistachio ice cream. The service was excellent and there seemed to be lots of locals enjoying their meals as well.

The food was fresh & delicious. The staff were friendly & helpful. Good service, would highly recommend.
Geraldine B — Google review
It's a well established, friendly restaurant, with regular customers. There's a good variety of dishes on the menu, although not particularly good for vegetarians and vegans. I didn't particularly like the atmosphere, as it felt and looked too much like a canteen. The service throughout was great, friendly and efficient. Overall, the food was good, although nothing special.
Jamie B — Google review
This is a lively restaurant with excellent friendly service and great food- our large party had a range of pizza, pasta and other dishes - the pasta came out with especially favourable reviews! Service was considerate and friendly without being intrusive. Allergies and intolerance were dealt with swiftly and no fuss. The only reason for 4/5 atmosphere rather than 5/5 is that 2 members of out party have hearing loss and in this busy restaurant on a oeak Friday evening they found it a bit challenging- like they would in most other places! If you enjoy a noisy, lively atmosphere, this will be a perfect spot!

Nestled just outside of town near the iconic Yorkshire Showground, Fodder - Farm Shop and Cafe is a delightful pit stop for brunch enthusiasts exploring the picturesque Crimple Valley. This spacious cafe, bathed in natural light and designed with sustainability in mind—featuring a sedum roof and solar panels—is one of Yorkshire's greenest establishments. Fodder prides itself on showcasing local produce from numerous farmers and small producers, offering beloved country cafe classics like the hearty Great Yorkshire Breakfast.
Stopped for an early lunch, turned out to be a good choice. A great egg roll and excellent bacon butties. Looking round other dinners, the food looked just as good. Staff were excellent, shown to the table by a bilingual chap, who was helpful and served by Rosie, who was very friendly and efficient. Highly recommend and will definitely return

Lovely setting with wide selection of food and drink. The farm shop has been recently been refurbished and I feel this is reflected in the prices they are now charging £3.50 for a 4 pack of currant teacakes, our local farm shop in Halifax uses local bakers and they only charge £1.95, they also support “local farmers” and manage to keep prices reasonable. The artisan bread starts at £4-5 again we’ve shopped around the country and these are inflated prices and not in line with people’s budgets. We were staying at the campsite next door and felt it was nice for a mooch around but we really couldn’t afford to buy food to cook a meal at those prices.
Laura H — Google review
We usually enjoy the Fodder coffee and food experience at Fodder, which makes today’s experience more disappointing. It wasn’t even that busy, it took ages before we could flag someone to take our order, in the end the coffee never arrived so rather than flagging someone to ask where the coffees are - we left. Hopefully this was just an off day, as we’ve really enjoy Fodders.

Lovely cafe. Staff were friendly and attentive. Found us a table with space to accommodate a pushchair. Food was excellent and I personally loved getting proper chunky chips rather than skinny fries. Anther good mark was getting lemon with my Earl Grey tea and a separate pot of hot water. The farm shop was full of very nice produce and again the staff were very friendly. Reall enjoyed our visit.

This is a very popular farm shop and cafe. First class regional produce to buy and also ear as part of an excellent menu. Yes it isn't the cheapest, but good value for money considering the quality of food. Supporting local regional producers wherever possible. The staff are excellent- well done!

We have visited Fodder twice recently. Sat lunchtime and Monday morning. Both times the place was busy, but moving at a good pace. The staff really very polite, friendly and helpful (when they finally got to us, as it seemed to take a while to both order and get the bill). Tables were cleared and new customers seated promptly. Food was very good and poached eggs cooked to perfection! £15 for the breakfast in the pic, but it is Harrogate. We like the shop, the room is spacious and we never felt rushed. The butcher's there is simply fantastic. It's great to watch them work and they are helpful and knowledgeable. It was a really great experience each time. Good job to the staff. It will be a pleasure to come back.
Barbara K — Google review
Staff 10/10 - Rosie is without a doubt my new favourite person. Friendly, lovely to engage with and proudly told us how she absolutely loves what she does. Her attitude and conversation and service clearly sell that message as well. What a saint. Also Bonus points for the lad who seated us on Sunday the 28th of September, what a champ he is as well. Food was great, but everyone already knows that, that’s why we come. £15 for a full English, which isn’t a massive portion, however, the quality is second to none. Between Fodder and Farmhouse (my lass and i’s regulars) we love walking through the door here to be looked after and hand over our brass.
Brett — Google review
Consistent 5 star service in both the restaurant and shop. The quality of the produce and extensive menu is as good as it gets. The staff are professional, knowledgeable and attentive. A special mention for Diana who has looked after us in the restaurant several times, she is a true credit for Fodder.

Buon Gusto is a charming Italian eatery with locations in Leeds and Harrogate, offering a warm and down-to-earth atmosphere. The restaurant serves classic Italian dishes such as pasta, pizza, risottos, salads, 28-day aged steak, and the Gusto Burger. Their menu also includes gluten-free options, vegan cheese, vegetarian dishes, and a kids' menu. The restaurants are sleek and classy with an extensive wine list to complement the delicious food.
Second time visiting, hard to fault. Service, price etc was excellent, quality of food was also very good. If i was pedantic, I would say the Gnocchi alla Sorrentina was lacking in tomatoes. It is designed to be very cheesy but it needs more tomatoes to balance the flavours. Overall though a nice experience. And would still recommend this restaurant.
Larry D — Google review
Mama Mia, where do I even begin?! Zero complaints here, just pure culinary bliss. My friend and I kicked things off by sharing the mussels in white wine sauce, and she practically declared if she had to drown in any liquid, that would be it. High praise indeed, and I wholeheartedly agree! The focaccia bread with tomato and cheese was equally superb – super fresh, incredibly flavourful. For the main event, I opted for the lamb shank in red wine sauce with mash, and it somehow got even better. The flavours were unbelievable, and the freshness was palpable in every bite. We also tried both the veggie and seafood tortellini, and honestly, it's the best I've had outside of Italy itself. My only regret is living 300 miles away, otherwise, this would be a regular spot for me. If you're looking for fantastic Italian food with impeccable service in a chic setting, you absolutely have to check this place out. You won't be disappointed!

Thank you for such a lovely evening. ❤️❤️❤️

Fantastic service and food, absolutely delicious. Had mussels starter and seafood linguine together with cheesy garlic bread (more like a pizza), partnerhad arancini starter and seabass main. Bill was very reasonable, would highly recommend.

Despite being small, Buon Gusto makes up for its size with on-point service, a well-decorated enterior, and filling food! Upon entering, it's a beautiful atmosphere with a bar head-on and modern furnished seating areas. The staff are welcoming and friendly - quick to seat customers and take their orders. We ordered off the set 2 course priced at £18.99 and, for our first time visiting, we had low expectations. However, we were quickly blown away! Usually, in finer restaurants like this, I expect the portions of set menus to be dainty, but they were filling, well-presented, and truly delicious! And the mains..! You can definitely expect to get your moneys worth with their dishes as the portions are BIG! Me and my family struggled to get through the last mouthfuls, and we even heard a table behind us remark about how filling they were. We couldn't resist but force room and order a dessert! Would definitely recommend it.

Tapas restaurant
Essenza Bar & Tapas is a refined establishment offering Spanish tapas with a global twist, along with an array of cocktails, sangria, and wine. It's a popular choice for pre-theatre dining and is known for its commitment to freshness in every dish. The menu features an impressive selection of traditional and chef's creations, complemented by a well-curated wine list that pairs perfectly with the food.
We ate off the tapas menu where the choices were impressive, some traditional and some of the chefs creations. Good nice food with no disappointments 👍 The wine choices really work with food, and there’s plenty of other drinks to enjoy as well. Staff were excellent, friendly, attentive and entertaining with two birthday songs for separate guests which raised a few laughs. We were lucky enough as a walk in to get a table for two so I’d recommend booking. Highly recommend and we’ll definitely be going back.

The restaurant was an absolute delight! The portion sizes were generous, and every dish was bursting with flavor—especially the pork, which was outstanding. The wine selection was equally impressive, perfectly complementing the meal. The staff were warm, welcoming, and incredibly attentive. As a thoughtful Valentine’s Day touch, they greeted every guest with a rose and decorated the space beautifully with balloons, creating a wonderful atmosphere. Considering the quality and portion sizes, the pricing was very reasonable. Without a doubt, one of my favorite restaurants to date. Highly recommend—thank you for a fantastic experience!

Came here with my girlfriend after seeing it had quite a large gluten free menu. Was greeted by friendly staff who were attentive throughout. When asked what we had wanted for food I had mentioned I would like the gluten free option. I was told this was perfectly fine and wasn't given 21 questions like I would get in other restraunts. Our experience was very refreshing. Great portion sizing, a great range in drinks would highly recommend to anyone wanting great food and highly recommend for people with gluten intolerances. Will definitely be returning in the near future.

Booked for dinner here with some friends on a Saturday evening. We had an outside table and our waiter was just the best. Taverna Harrogate is a restaurant with an amazing Greek cuisine and full bar. The staff is friendly and the food is delicious. The atmosphere is art-lined and the outdoor seating makes it a great place to enjoy a meal.
Came here with the family, and we all absolutely loved it. The staff were friendly and accommodating and the restaurant was lovely. Our meal was so nice that my youngest asked if we could move to Greece. That only downside was the cost. With a drink each and a bottle of wine, we spent just over £180. Still, even with that said, we would return... Once the piggy bank has refilled.

Booked here last minute on 10/09/25. Restaurant was relatively quiet being earlier in the week. I had the spicy lamb kofta to start and mixed grill for 1. Both dishes were superb. Grilled perfectly and full of flavour. Wife ordered rib eye steak but the chef wasn't happy with the size of the ribeye and an alternate option of sirloin was offered. Wife wasn't disappointed, it was excellent. Overall, highly recommend this place for authentic, delicious Greek food. Very friendly helpful staff too. I'll be back.

Enjoyed sampling a selection of dishes at the Taverna tonight - particularly liked the Garides Sagganaki (prawn in tomato sauce) and the lamb kofte hot starters. The lamb souvlaki was a bit on the tough side. For dessert we shared the orange pie which is very rich. We were served quickly and very efficiently-the restaurant is welcoming and the staff are pleasant. We felt it was tasty food in decent portions and value for money.

The service was lovely, the chef said they had separate fryer for gluten free but when the order went through the chef said he didn't want to do it and for my 7year old celiac child to have a salad. Revolución de Cuba Harrogate offers a vibrant Latin fiesta vibe, making it the perfect spot for a non-traditional brunch experience. The bottomless brunch option is a steal, with prices varying based on the time you visit. The venue boasts a lively atmosphere, an array of fun events, and a mouthwatering menu featuring Latin-inspired dishes. While some have noted inconsistent service, others praise the friendly and competent staff.
Superb brunch. If there were 6 stars for service, I’d have tapped that. Service was utterly attentive (but not clawing or in my face) - food was lovely, drinks were great. It was quiet so we were the atmosphere - but excellent all round. Comfy chairs, watching the world go by via the massive windows. Music was good as well. Thanks !
Matt W — Google review
We visited today for a bottomless brunch. The place was very empty and I think there were only two staff members working. Overall I'd say we had an okay experience. To start, they brought us a mimosa each and some chips and salsa. The salsa was very sweet, definitely store bought and tasted a lot like the one from the jar you can get at the supermarket, which disappointed us a bit as we expected something a little bit more authentic. We had the breakfast burrito and the chorizo hash for food. The burrito was okay, it was very greasy but was the better dish of the two. I wasn't a fan of the chorizo hash, everything on the dish tasted strongly of peppers which just wasn't to my taste. For the drinks, we went for the standard bottomless brunch so there were only a couple of options to choose from. We opted for the rum punch for most of our drinks, which was quite good and presented well every time, the bar tender did a good job. I did want to have some strawberry daiquiris but they told me they were unavailable as the mix hadn't frozen yet. Again this was quite disappointing as the only drinks I was interested in were the rum punch and the daiquiri, so I just kept ordering the same drink. The server was really nice, but there were quite a few times that we sat with empty glasses waiting for him to ask if we wanted to order anything else. We also felt that we were inconveniencing them a bit by ordering drinks but obviously it is a bottomless brunch and you pay to have bottomless drinks! All in all, I wouldn't go for a bottomless brunch here again personally. We usually go to turtle bay for bottomless brunch and they have much better food and so many drinks options, I just couldn't warrant coming back here.

Looked great outside but I was surprised when I entered how empty and dead it was for a Sunday evening. Menu looked fab. Took awhile to get service from the two members of staff on duty. Food ordered and then waited for the food. Food wasn't bad even though the burger tasted a little cold in the middle. I did plan on having desert but again due to the service or lack of service I sat waiting quite awhile for someone to come to the table to order. Eventually I went to the bar and paid. Even that wasn't straight forward as the card machine wasn't working and she had to find a second machine. It's not a great look when you are waiting on service and the people working are either chatting or on their phones.

Always has its bins out all over the pavement. An eyesore on the street but also quite dangerous particularly for pedestrians with disabilities or pushing buggies. They are sometimes full and over spilling, awaiting collection, but often still there for many hours or even days later (empty as I passed at 9.45am, still there at 1.00pm 1/7/25) and no one has bothered to take them in. I moved a few so that pedestrians could actually use the pavement. Not particularly nice for the customers inside looking through the window at a line of bins either. UPDATED 15/7/25 despite claims that they try to manage the bins, the issue continues as the empty bins have been blocking the pavement all morning

Fantastic food, flavours and menu - however, the tiniest portions, beyond acceptable. The scollops for starter - possibly the smallest baby scollops I’ve ever had, 3 of them like the size of a 2p piece, amazing flavour though with crispy bacon bits and popcorn, but scollops were so small they had gone dry. Then ordered the lamb and a hake main course, £25 / £29 each. 3 bite sized pieces of lamb and some calerac cream. Was cooked beautifully but was smaller than a tapas side dish. The Hake my wife ordered, was the size of a fish finger, with a handful of sweetcorn. And a basil sauce - strange combo but Again flavours amazing The bill came to £107 for this, with a large glass of wine and 2 pints… genuinely felt completely disappointed, not on flavour but in such a small meal. And that’s not just a greasy lad talking, my wife eats like a sparrow and even she was complaining Such a shame, considering we go in here so often for a drink, as a great location and always great atmosphere- Definitely wouldn’t recommend eating here unfortunately, not with the price considered, it’s not a fine dining restaurant it’s a pub. Thought about ordering desert but after the two courses already I thought the brownie might come out as a chocolate button so decided to leave. Would love to hear from you guys which chef decided tonight’s meal was acceptable. And the thought process behind it. I did mention it to the waitress and she said she agreed portion sizes are small, prices are tall, Maybe rebrand as a tapas menu and I’d understand

recently visited Three’s A Crowd in Harrogate and decided to try their fish and chips — and I’m so glad I did. It’s hands down one of the best versions of this classic dish I’ve had in a long time. The fish was perfectly cooked: light, golden batter with just the right crunch, giving way to beautifully flaky, tender fish inside. The chips were spot on — crisp on the outside, fluffy in the middle, and served in a generous portion. Paired with fresh tartare sauce and mushy peas, the whole plate was elevated well above your standard pub fish and chips. The presentation was modern yet still comforting, and the portion size was more than satisfying without being over the top. What really stood out was the quality of the ingredients; you can taste the freshness in every bite. To top it all off, the service was friendly and attentive, and the setting at Three’s A Crowd makes it a perfect spot to enjoy a relaxed meal with a bit of style. If you’re in Harrogate and fancy proper fish and chips with a refined touch, I’d highly recommend Three’s A Crowd. Absolutely worth it!

Walked in yesterday as a family of 5. The team were super nice and accommodated us in a nice spot away from two large dogs (never like the idea of restaurants allowing dogs into the dining area - very unhygienic). But as I said the staff could not be faulted. The food however was not very good. Ordered the pork belly and I honestly could not eat it. It was two slices (slabs) of old looking fat. How any chef who has pride in what they do can serve that up is beyond me. The prawns by comparison were delicious. My boys said their burgers were ‘mid’. If you can decipher that then good for you. Sum up: nice staff, nice ambience, nice drinks just don’t go for the food.

Held a wedding anniversary party at Three’s on Saturday for 50 guests in the outside area. The staff were brilliant, the pizzas were delicious and the atmosphere was electric. All the staff added to the atmosphere and had smiles on their faces all day despite them being soaked to the skin from the heavy rain. Brilliant, would definitely recommend.

Restaurant was wonderful! Just what we needed after a long two days of traveling across the pond! The food was yummy! I ordered a version of “bang bang” chicken without the sauce and it was delicious! My husband also loved his steak and onion pie. And our drinks were amazing. We will definitely be back!

Had the best time during my day out! The food and drinks were top-notch, and I couldn't fault the cleanliness or atmosphere. The service was spot on too – we were welcomed warmly, and the team’s checkbacks were timely without being intrusive. Loved the extra drink and dessert suggestions, and the goodbye felt genuine. Can't wait to come back!

I had a brilliant night catching up with friends! The food and drinks were absolutely top-notch, and everything was spotlessly clean. The team welcomed us warmly, explained everything clearly, and even checked back on us, which was a nice touch. Seriously, the service made a great evening even better. Definitely looking forward to my next visit!

Must first say Jennifer was very friendly very professional in here approach to me and my family. I had bang bang chicken i found it really good and would give 5 stars no problem. As my daughter pointed out we were 4 adults and a child of 2 and a half . .it would of been better if the child's food come first before four adults. We waited 10 minutes for the child's food after our food. Not the biggest problem but maybe look into it for other families. My grandson had schnitzel and chips . He only tells me after the chips were stone cold . My daughter and son-in-law had small plates. Tasty prawns amazing. Oioion bhaji were over cooked and they looked very dark . 100 pound with 2 beers 3 soft drinks and a tap water so yes I will comment. But over all fair to good . Hope this helps .

Nestled in the vibrant Hornbeam Park, Al Bivio is a delightful Italian restaurant that promises an unforgettable dining experience. With its airy, glass-fronted design and inviting terrace, it offers a modern yet cozy atmosphere perfect for enjoying handmade pasta, hearty Italian soups, and traditional fish dishes. Families will appreciate the bambino menu featuring child-friendly portions of pasta and pizza options. The attentive staff create a warm ambiance with their friendly service, ensuring every guest feels welcome.
Back to Harrogate @ Al Bivio – A Full-Circle Story In June 2001, I took the leap of a lifetime and moved to Harrogate. On a friend’s advice, I started working at Brio—what was then the old Al Bivio—determined to change my life. I was barely more than a kid, suitcase stuffed with dreams and the excitement of a child at a funfair. I had no idea how fundamental that step would be for the rest of my career and my life. Fast forward 24 years, five continents lived, a handful of business ventures—some successful, some less so—and here I am again. Almost nothing has changed… except the name. Daniele is still the conductor on stage, his waiters and chefs the orchestra, following his lead like the finest Italian opera. He greets me with a hug only Italians can pull off—half handshake, half bear-hug, fully heartwarming. The restaurant looks just as I remembered: bright, spotless, inviting. Italian wines, cantuccini, tarallucci, tomatoes, flour, and more sit proudly in crystal cabinets by the entrance, hinting at their small but growing Italian takeaway section. Inside, the vibe is lively—music flowing from Italian classics to modern notes, guests chatting and laughing, glasses clinking. And then—silence. Suddenly the staff break into “Happy Birthday” for a little five-year-old guest. The whole place claps along—including me, of course. Smiles all around. Daniele waves me to the bar: “Spritz?” “Of course,” I reply. We sit for a long-overdue chat while my table is being prepared. Daniele talks me through tonight’s specials and shares plans to start importing wines directly from Italy—selling them here and to selected restaurants across Northern England. I already know what’s happening: Daniele chooses the menu, pairs the wines, I just sit back and enjoy. Can you ask for more? ⸻ The Culinary Journey We start with the traditional welcome: a basket of warm focaccia, a bowl of spiced olives, and another of silky tapenade (black olives, garlic, anchovies, the works). Just like twenty years ago—always on the house, always part of the tradition. Paired with a glass of Gran Cuvée from Tenuta Roletto, a brilliant alternative to classic Prosecco. The evening hasn’t even started, and I’m already at 10/10. First Course Maccheroni with chicken (I swap it for sausage), porcini mushrooms, and a tomato-parmesan cream sauce. It’s paired with Lei—a crisp white made from Erba Luce grapes, Roletto’s signature variety. Daniele explains he’s only brought whites for testing tonight, but honestly, they match the pasta’s richness beautifully. The pasta is cooked al dente, sauce clings perfectly, no need for a spoon. Pairing? Pasta 10, Wine 9 (only because I missed a red). Second Course Wanting to keep things light after a flight, I go with the grilled halloumi salad from the menu. Fresh, balanced, and exactly what my stomach needed. Daniele pours Ermosa—another Roletto white, a blend dominated by Erba Luce. To my surprise, it rivals some of the best Sauvignon Blancs I’ve tasted. And having lived in New Zealand for 11 years, I’ve had plenty of exceptional ones. Ermosa stands tall with its unique, sociable style. Finale “Gelato or sorbetto?” Daniele asks with a grin. By now, only coffee and an ammazzacaffè fit. But he insists I at least peek at the freezer—dozens of flavors, from gelati to fruit sorbets, each paired with amaretti or cantuccini. Pure indulgence. And so the evening ends: espresso, limoncello, laughter, and memories. ⸻ Verdict At Al Bivio, nothing is just food. It’s theatre, music, nostalgia, and friendship all in one. Daniele remains the same—warm, witty, larger-than-life, always making guests feel they’re part of something special. For me, this wasn’t just dinner. It was a homecoming. A reminder of where it all began, and proof that true Italian hospitality never ages—it only matures like a fine wine. Score: 10/10. Full stomach, full spirit I will be back!

I had here one of the best pizza’s ever. If you love thin and crunchy base and something different than mozzarella, this is the one! Friendly staff, smooth service. Would have loved to give 5 stars but the bad acoustics bothered me a lot.

I’ve been here a few times but forgot to leave a review until now. The pasta and pizza are consistently excellent. Compared to other Italian restaurants in town, I believe their pasta comes closest to the authentic flavours you’d find in Italy 🇮🇹

RAVE REVIEW ALERT!!! Let me start by saying that I walked into this restaurant completely blind to any knowledge about it or the area. The hotel I was staying in for work had their restaurant closed much to my disappointment. They mentioned the Italian next door and I didn't want to walk far, so I thought it will do. I walked in and they seated me instantly, very friendly and welcoming. Whilst I was checking out the menu they brought over free Tapenada, olives and bread basket. Best Tapenada I have ever eaten. So I was off to a great start. Not realising the portions were huge I pretty much ate the lot. I ordered pappardelle alla Norcina. Which was pasta with sausage and wild mushrooms with a creamy tomato sauce. Not going to lie this was a dance party in my mouth. The portion size was huge. I had noticed they the offer half portions(note for next time). The food was so good I finished the lot and I am now in a food coma. If I wasn't in public I would have licked the plate. Now I live 1 hour and 15 minutes away and would make the drive to come back. Already rang the family and told them to make the drive to try this place. Highly recommend, the pricing was a little higher than most Italian restaurants I have been in but what can I say its more than worth it. Unfortunately 5 stars is the highest rating on here. But I would treble it. Will most definitely be back.

Fantastic Italian restaurant, exceptional staff, delicious food and lovely atmosphere. We visited last night for my sons birthday as a party of 10 and were so well looked after, we all had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Would highly recommend!

One of the friendliest staff group I’ve ever met in a restaurant, flexible service and cozy atmosphere. Free bread and no service charge. Extremely generous with cheese when serving the pasta…High recommend after a long day. Food could be more picky on its ingredients. The mushroom in this pasta’s acceptable but not quite ideal. Favouring is classic but not very impressive.

Pizza Express in Harrogate is a nice pizzeria with good portions. The pollo pancetta pizza is well worth trying. It's not spicy and has plenty of flavour.
Excellent. Lovely staff, great food, nice and clean restaurant. Great price using my gold member rewards. Travelled over on the train for a day, despite having this restaurant where we live, as a treat and we loved it!!

Popped in for a sneaky pizza on the way home. We received a warm welcome, and we're looked after throughout the meal very well. We had a couple of Romana pizzas, both were hot, tasty and deliciously thin. With the app the meal was a reasonable price. ( To be fair they're not expensive anyway but it's nice to feel you've saved a few quid) It was relatively quiet for a Friday night, although it was around 8:30, perhaps it's busier earlier in the day.

The total experience was quite grim with a children table next to us with children screaming and running around. They charged £17 for 3 large diet cokes and if you went around the corner to Tesco it’s £2.80 for a 2l bottle. The pizza was not the best for paying £13. A much better place to go to is pizza social which has much better food and service and is not extremely overpriced. The staff member we had was very nice. It’s such a shame that this location in Harrogate was used for this restaurant if you could call it that. Please think before coming to this location and go to another restaurant instead

We’ve been to the Harrogate Pizza Express a few times, but our most recent visit was extra amazing. Firstly, the food and drinks were delicious, but what really made the visit special was the excellent service. We had a wonderful waitress, I didn’t catch her name but she had red glasses and short hair. She was exceedingly helpful and observant, and put a smile on all of our faces. I hope that our next visit can be just as great as this one, thank you.

Splendid experience! This is my favourite pizza restaurant in Harrogate. Such wonderful food and service. Special mention to the fantastic chefs, who always provide delicious food. I organised one of their group workshops for children (usually for schools although we were a group of home educators). The children loved to learn about the ingredients, about the techniques they use to make the pizzas extra yummy and of course seeing the pizzaiolo throwing the pizza dough in the air is always impressive. The most satisfying part was to eat the pizzas they've made fresh out of the oven! They were yummy 😍

I had no idea what to expect about Tom's apart that it sold real ale and pizza. Walking upstairs above a charity shop, you can hear the buzz off the music and voices. Tha bar has a great selection of ales and choice of pizzas. The prices aren't cheap but still didn't put me off as this is usually the way. The venue has a great vibe with people of all ages just enjoying a beer and food. They also sell tee shirts with there logos. I would definitely recommend this place to stop off for a great pint and fantastic atmosphere.

Many thanks AGAIN This was a really funky bar and the pizzas looked amazing. Loads of different beers on offer and from breweries close to Harrogate. These three tasted great. Many thanks

A well established bar/social venue. Lovingly themed in a retro style. It's fairly unpretentious and diverse, as long as you can get up the stairs (I don't think there's a lift). It's also dog friendly. The drinks tend to be a really interesting selection, with a lean to craft and independent breweries. There are non-alcoholic beer options. The food is good, although pretty much limited to pizza or a couple of salads. There are several vegan pizza options. As it's open plan, it can be pretty loud at busy times - difficult to have a quiet conversation.

Very small portion sizes in contrast to previous reviews. 6 pigs in blankets for £5.50 is rather extortionate. It took almost 1 hour for 2 pies to come out - it was not overly busy. The staff were apologetic which was appreciated. Would not recommend as portion sizes are bad and the food is average.

Such a fantastic experience for bottomless brunch, amazing service, amazing food and such a great time ♥️ Lovely special touches like a candle and brownie for my birthday and didn’t need to ask for drinks, the staff were so accommodating and it was brilliant :) Huge THANK YOU to Rachel who was amazing and really made it so special, we will be returning :)

The new food menu is a third of what used to be. My chicken fingers were small and had no flavor. I guess they are trying for a drink only atmosphere. I had to get a refund for my glass of wine that was supposed to come with meal but did not. Sadly this place has continued to go down hill until it reached bottom. Will never return.

Bottomless brunch... Staff were nice, the DJ was fantastic, atmosphere was okay, the DJ made it better. Pizza was okay, the drinks were flowing. However £42+ per person is a crazy price. I drank a little more than 1 glass of prosecco and then had water. I guess the prices are not as advertised on the website. That's my only grumble.

I went to the Foundry Project for a bottomless brunch on a late Saturday afternoon as part of a hen do a few weeks ago and sadly I do not recommend it. The atmosphere was nonexistent when we arrived and we were the only people in the whole bar, luckily the DJ was happy to play our requests which helped a little. It had been mentioned on their social media that it was a themed bottomless brunch but there was nothing relating to this theme the whole time we were there. There were a few issues with the food such as a very burnt pizza being served to one of the party and some of the party were unable to have what they had originally pre-ordered as I believe the oven had stopped working, that being said the burgers and chips were very nice when they arrived. There not a single piece of toilet roll in the ladies toilet when we arrived and we had to ask for this to be sorted. The staff were friendly and trying their best. We did raise all these issues with the manager at the time who was apologetic and offered a partial refund for items plus a round of shots but if you are looking for a lively fun place for bottomless brunch sadly this isn't it especially if it is for a special occasion.

Thug Sandwich Co. is the perfect place to get a delicious, fresh sandwich. They have many options to choose from and their sandwiches are always top quality. The staff are super friendly and the shop itself is very clean. If you're looking for a great sandwich in town, then definitely check out Thug Sandwich Co!
This place has been on my places-to-try list for a long while. A trip to the bank round the corner was needed, which gave me the opportunity to call here for a sandwich, I was very excited. I ordered a club sandwich, a sausage roll, and a portion of lamb belly fingers. The sandwich was excellent, better than a standard club sandwich with tasty chutney stuff and great eggs. The sausage roll was something like Red Leicester and chilli, which the gent behind the counter recommended. It was delicious and gone before I got back to my car. LAMB BELLY FINGERS, I’ve not had these anywhere before. I don’t think I’ve even seen lamb belly on a menu. They were amazing. Hot and super crispy, ace seasoned crust on the outside and warm tender lamb on the inside. I wanted to take a nice photo of them but by the time I got home someone had eaten them all (me). If you go to Harrogate, you should go here. AND buy a t-shirt.

Came to Harrogate for a visit (first time!) with a friend. Was dying for a brunch and felt like we had to try this after going through the reviews. Friend had the Charsiu sandwich (not pictured here, was already munching on my order), which was new to the menu when we went in mid July. As a Malaysian Chinese who grew up having char siu as a common staple dish, this was testified as a new but exciting twist in the use of char siu on a Western dish. Very juicy, not dry at all. High commended. I had the KFCaesar (I had to smile when ordering this, staff was friendly throughout!). It was slightly dry to my liking even with the Sriracha sauce, but it was still ok. Perhaps a juicier sauce alternative could have given it a better kick. We also ordered the bhaji Scotch egg, this was good and came with mango chutney. We washed everything down with coffee. I had the flat white, which was just nice to complement the burst of flavours from the food. We were sat at the small seating area facing the window overlooking the street. Only three seats available. There is a collection of books neatly arranged underneath the table as well if you’re here without companions. Being in this town for the first time, it was exceptionally fun to people watch, gauge the population group, the level of bustle on a weekday, and the local friendliness whilst enjoying our brunch. Can’t say this enough, but staff was very friendly. Even when I stepped into the shop for the first time and left looking lost (was expecting a bigger space from the massive reviews I read), they greeted me warmly and remained so when I stepped in a second time with my friend in tow. Thank you very much for the experience.

I think the Thug has gotten too Smug. Huge disappointment after seeing Danny from Rate my Takeaway give this place his favourite place in his review a couple years ago, I was in Harrogate and had to check it out. Ordered 3 of the dishes Danny had and raved about. 1. Onion Bhaji scotch egg very dry, cold and tasteless 2. KFCesar chicken sandwich now much smaller than when Danny reviewed it, in a burger bun and not a subway style, 2 pieces of chicken not 3 like Danny’s , chicken tasted good bun had too much sauce making it doughy. 3. Lamb fingers, almost pure fat in every finger hardly any meat and wayyyyy too salty.

Easily the best takeaway lunch spot in Harrogate and up there with the best coffee in town as well. Thug offer a wide range of sandwiches including some meat free options to cater to all. I recommend the KFCeasar which is an entire meal in itself so be prepared. Great group of staff working in the shop who are always friendly and bring a great atmosphere.

We had the two new Asian fusion sandwiches from here and they were incredible. The stand-out really has to be the lamb belly fingers. Never had anything quite like that. It slapped on another level. Will definitely be stopping by for more every time we're in Harrogate.

Working in Harrogate for the day. Asked colleagues for recommendation for somewhere to eat. And the guys highly recommended the place. Went in and asked if sandwich’s were could be amended as I can’t have spicy food. The lads were lovely and more than happy to amend the sandwich I wanted (pulled pork sandwich) . And the portion size was massive it was absolutely delicious. Thank you guys! Highly recommend.

Step into the world of elegance and sophistication at Piccolino Harrogate, an upscale Italian restaurant with a contemporary interior. This beloved neighborhood gem offers classic Italian specialties in a timeless charm that invites you to savor an authentic culinary experience. The restaurant boasts a stunning rooftop all-weather terrace, perfect for enjoying quality food and drinks in one of Harrogate's most scenic settings. While service may be slow during peak times, the fantastic staff and amazing food make it worth the wait.
Wow - we had the most amazing lunch. The food was delicious and bursting with flavour. We were very impressed by the service - Ben was very knowledgable and hospitable. His cocktails were amazing too. Highly recommend anyone to visit and eat here.

Upmarket Italian Restaurant with all the classic dishes and more you would expect from an established chain. The atmosphere and service was top notch. I sampled some interesting cocktails, a delicious Calamari starter, and a rich tiramisu that melted in the mouth. I was not entirely convinced with the steak which was lacking in juices, flavour, and was a tad bit dry and tough. Will stick to the more 'traditional' Italian mains next time.

Great service as always, The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The bar staff let us sit in the bar while we waited for all the party to arrive. We ordered a bottle of Valpolicella, which was lovely and great value for money. We were hungry when we got to the table and ordered garlic bread as we were choosing our main meals. The waiter was brilliant and brought us the breads almost immediately. Brilliant night spent with friends. We will definitely keep going back.

We booked the roof terrace and private dining room for a wedding celebration. Everything was amazing and the whole team we dealt with from the first enquiry to collecting items the next day was amazing. Very considerate and attentive staff, they were excellent accomodating our needs, great with dietary needs and very helpful when we asked for anything. Jose in particular was a star. He is very good at his job and we couldn't have wished for anyone better to look after us. Thank you for excellent service at a lovely venue. 5 stars from us.

I loved it! We were seated at a table that was secluded from others, and the service was exceptional. The food was delicious. The server even brought out a special treat for my wife, as it was her birthday. It was completely unexpected, but it added a lovely touch to our evening. Thank you for a wonderful experience; we will definitely be back!

I had my 21st birthday celebrations here on the terrace and would 100% recommend, we shared a variety of different food of canapés and pizzas. Everyone commented days after the party how nice the food was. For the atmosphere it was amazing, really clean and a great space to party. We were able to connect our own music and play our own playlists. The staff were great, really welcoming and fast service. Couldn’t recommend this place enough.

When we arrived one of our party was in a wheelchair and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful opening the doors and making sure that my friend was comfortable. They even changed our reserved table for a one that was easier to access the lavatories. We had amazing time and the Team couldn’t have done more for us. I would definitely recommend this beautiful restaurant to friends and family. Thank you so much

4-day trip to Harrogate & the surrounding area and we even went twice to Piccolino: The first time (passing by by accident) we were "invited" by the look of the dishes on the tables, sounding like fresh meals. With little hunger only, we only had the excellent starters and some dessert. Two evenings later we reserved for our anniversary and had the "full package". Great food, combined with excellent & friendly service!

Crowne Plaza Harrogate, an IHG Hotel, is a sophisticated accommodation option with convenient access to the Harrogate Convention Centre. The hotel boasts six well-equipped meeting spaces and a dedicated Crowne Plaza Meetings Director on site. Guests can enjoy the Sleep Advantage program for a restful night's sleep and take advantage of amenities such as a mini gym and running station at reception. Springs Restaurant and Springs Bar offer dining and relaxation options within the hotel.
As tourists in the UK we had been travelling non-stop, trying to fit in as much as possible. Arriving to find Leah on the front desk, incredibly friendly, helpful and welcoming was just wonderful. Our night at the Crowne Plaza was just so relaxing and comfortable. A proper, gigantic, comfortable bed. We enjoyed our stay so much, I must admit that we didn’t see as much of Harrogate as we should, because we enjoyed relaxing in the hotel!

We have just returned home from a short break here what a fantastic place. We were made very welcome when we arrived. Donny on reception checked us in he was very friendly and gave us lots of very useful information. I had requested an accessible room and am pleased to say our room was great. The walk in shower was fabulous, and the bathroom amenities were lovely, really nice quality. There was a mini fridge in our room that had bottles of water as well as a selection of tea and coffee along with milk we made good use of these. We ate in the restaurant a couple of nights the staff were really attentive but not annoyingly so. Breakfast was amazing the gentleman that checked us in (can't remember his name sorry) was really nice, very friendly and explained how everything worked. Fantastic choice of the usual "English Breakfast" items including saute potatoes, bonus. Everything was replenished regularly so nothing was left to get dried out and hard. There was a great choice of cereal and pastries as well as fruit, yogurt and Continental type bits. There were fruit juices and water available too. You could ask for other things like poached eggs or omelettes. We thoroughly enjoyed our few days staying here, all of the members of staff we had any interaction with were very friendly and kind and a real asset to the hotel. Hotel is very close to the town centre making it easy to get about. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel that would take you to the bus station if you needed it. We really enjoyed our short break hopefully we will be able to return at some point in the future.

Just returned from a 3 night stay where everything was perfect, which I don't say often, from under hotel car park, with lift into the hotel to being warmly welcomed by Donny who gave us all the info we needed and more. We ate in the restaurant 2 nights, everything came out as ordered and nothing was too much trouble. We were welcomed with warm words and a bit of humour by james (seamus) at breakfast, he and his team worked very hard getting tables cleared and keeping the buffet topped up and HOT, which is very rare in a hotel buffet, we enjoyed every part of our stay... well done all we hope to come back soon...

Nice neat hotel with excellent rooms. Kept a birthday card for me which was nice touch. Close walk to centre. Only issue was car parking spaces very tight and it took forever to find a space on first entry. Overall worth staying as nice base to get to other places like York.

August 2025 We stayed here for 2 nights for the wedding. The rooms were spacious with super king bed with all the amenities from toiletries to tea/coffee. Their service was fast as we had to ask for the cot, which they did straight away. They even provided extra quilt for the cot padding on request. The breakfast was included, which was also very nice. We had the option of getting vegetarian omelette and veggie sausages on request. Overall it was a lovely experience.

Great hotel for a base in Harrogate and the surrounding areas. Staff were friendly, professional and efficient. Secure parking and not too over priced. Only 4 stars as I had a few issues with the room. Otherwise would recommend.

Had a great 2 nights at Crowne Plaza. Situated at the bottom end of Harrogate but 7 minute walk into the centre. The hotel room was large, comfortable king size bed, fridge in room, coffee, tea and hot chocolate free of charge. Easy check in and departure. Parking available under the hotel but check car in at front desk. Close to many bars and eating places. The hotel has a very good restuarant and bar.
HUGH M — Google review
Clean hotel with welcoming, friendly staff. We had a suite which was plenty spacious for 3 people. Had a comfortable nights sleep in a nice bed. Only gripe about the room was the shower was a bit slow but not a major thing. Dinner and breakfast were both good and would recommend. Underground parking was secure although the carpark layout is a touch bizarre. Overall though, although not the cheapest option in Harrogate we would stay again.

The owners, Jane and Maria, have extensive experience in the industry and offer a diverse collection of gowns to cater to various tastes. Moving northward, Ripon is a charming town featuring attractions such as the magnificent Cathedral, marina area, gardens, racecourse, and interesting museums.
Always a delight. A fantastic range of Craft and Real Ales and plenty of window space to watch the world go by. On my latest visit felt the place could do with some maintenance. The Disabled Toilet was out of order as was one of the Gents toilets. In addition for a brewery there was no North beers on.

A really pleasant place to go and enjoy a pint or two. Outdoor seating area in the sunshine as well as comfortable seats inside. The guy that served us was lovely and gave off the sort of vibe that he enjoyed his job. Table service was offered, but that would have prevented us from umming and ahhing over the huge choice of beers! Board games available to play (as well as Uno style games) Nice clean toilets- always a bonus!

Ivory Bar is a sophisticated cocktail bar in Harrogate, offering lounge-style seating and hosting weekend DJs and live music nights. It opens on Thursday and Friday from 6pm to 2am, Saturday from 12 noon to 2am, and Sunday from 3pm till late. The venue is available for special events and private hire. Visitors have praised the warm welcome by the door staff, excellent cocktails, great DJ performances, and overall pleasant ambiance.
I can’t thank the whole team at Ivory for making hosting my Niece’s 21st any better. From the initial conversation about what we were trying to achieve, to being so accommodating to let us into the venue early to decorate, to the lending of scissors ✂️ and Helium of which I arrived with neither. 🙄 the offer of 2 drinks to my friend and I as we set it up (sorry I still owe you for them) they were simply amazing. Hosting something can be really stressful but here you just seem to be able to turn up and they just know what you need. Such a good night had by all, I received a phone call to let me know 3 mobiles had been left which I collected and returned to all the guests who clearly had too much fun! 🙄 Thank you all for making a very special night perfect. Highly recommend to anybody wanting to host an occasion, you are in good hands x

After being served a glass of red wine that was clearly off, my partner went to the bar in order to explain this and was then greeted with toxic masculine hostility from the manager, Mark. His words were, 'it's the house red, what do you want?' He laughed at her too. He begrudgingly replaced the wine. This situation should not have been questioned. It wasn't appreciated one bit. A VERY rude and conceited individual. I approached "The manager" before leaving the premises and mentioned that I would be writing an email to the area manager due to his conduct. He then pointed to the area manager at the end of the bar (with smugness). I had a chat with him and he was more understanding and kind. He made a point of speaking to my partner and made her feel a little more at ease, which was certainly appreciated. I will still be making a formal complaint. This behaviour is completely unacceptable. I expect better service from a premium bar in Harrogate. Especially when you pay a tenner for a glass of wine. Been in here a few times. Other staff were great. The manager needs to take a course in customer service and learn how to be kind to his customers. He also needs to learn hospitality. That's his job after all. And cut the attitude! Don't think we will go back after this, unfortunately.
Mark T — Google review
Staff are polite and professional plenty of places to sit, good choice of drinks and thoroughly enjoyed my night. Music was excellent and enjoyed the live singer too. I'd like to say a big thank you to the doorman, he was a true gentleman escorting us and everybody else to there table and making us feel safe top man. I would highly recommend this place. Definitely going back.

Some great live music is on here. Lots of fun to be had. Good DJ too. Older mixed croud, everyone seems really friendly. Door staff are lovely. I haven't had food here before so I can't comment on that but they have a nice selection of drinks. I prefer this place when live music is on or the DJ, if you go early it is very quiet but would be nice to meet as a couple there as it's pretty and really relaxed.

A good range of wines, some cocktails and liqueurs available. Worth a visit and we will be looking to return the next time we stay in Harrogate. Edit: Returned one year after our previous visit to find that the restaurant has maintained its fabulous standards. Each course was amazing and I particularly enjoyed the sticky toffee pudding.

Without a recommendation from a shop assistant in a nearby shop I would have walked past the unassuming frontage. However, the interior is lovely, modern, warm and inviting. The staff could not be more helpful and attentive. The 3 course meal we had tonight was one of the best meals i have had in a long time. Superb quality, beautifully presented and packed with flavour. Had to check the bill as it was much less than expected even with the optional service charge on.. incredibly good value for money. Would heartily recommend and will go back.

I was fortunate to find a Groupon voucher for this restaurant and I an s.o glad I did. The tables are well spaced so you don't feel like someone is looking over your shoulder all the time, and the service was good and prompt. We had a 2 course menu and the food was amazing, especially the seared salmon starter. I would definitely recommend giving this place a try, though you should book to avoid disappointment.

The lunch menu which both my friend and myself had was excellent and we would definitely dine there again. The salmon with stir-fried cabbage and soy noodles was so tender and although I cook salmon quite a lot I have never achieved this standard and my friend was equally impressed with her dish of chicken. The portions were generous and beautifully presented and served by pleasant and courteous waiters. Having started our lunch with salmon fishcakes served with an absolutely tasty lemon and dill sauce unfortunately we could not manage to eat any of the tempting desserts. We were also impressed by the very reasonably priced menu!

I have been here several times. I have been on 05/11/14. Normally go early evening on a Monday, if I am going to a dance in Harrogate (Modern Jive). I normally opt for the Duck that they do as a main course. The food is very fancy, presented very well , but more importantly tastes fantastic. I recommend this place. The restaurant is very clean and the staff are very good. The prices for a meal are a bit more expensive than some of the cheaper theatre restaurants, but the ingredients and the flavours are very good.

Olivers Fish Shop & Restaurant is a delightful spot that captures the essence of traditional British dining, particularly known for its classic fish and chips. Nestled in Harrogate, this charming eatery offers a relaxed atmosphere reminiscent of seaside chip shops. With its simple yet inviting decor, it feels like stepping back into a nostalgic culinary experience. Guests can indulge in perfectly cooked cod or explore other seafood options while enjoying crispy chips that are simply irresistible.
We found Olivers fish and chip restaurant looking on Google search. We went out for an evening meal 😋 I really enjoyed it I had spam fritters an old fashioned meal to some my wife had fish and chips We also had tea for two just lovely the lady behind the counter was hard working keeping everything going I must say she was really nice 🙂 anyway I recommend them if you're in the area if you want a restaurant with good food and good evening out Ho my chip butty on the side 😊 mmmmm

Went for tea here this evening after a walk round nearby Valley Gardens. This is a proper old school traditional fish & chips restaurant. The lady serving us was absolutely lovely and the food amazing. My son had a chicken& mushroom pie, my mum scampi and I had spam fritters and we all really enjoyed our meals. The chips were perfect and the batter on my spam fritters was gorgeous, so crispy and light. We didn't have time to stay longer or we'd have had pudding but we will definitely be back to try out the crumbles. Definitely a 5*. Thanks for a lovely meal.

Our local fish shop accepted my take away order last evening and took credit card payment. The owner called back 10 minutes later, extensively berated me and told me my order had been cancelled because I'd left a poor Just Eat review in August. The review stated that the fish was overcooked, but the scampi and chips were great. Best avoid . . .

What a fabulous little find this was, we googled the best fish and chips in Harrogate whilst we were there celebrating a birthday, and Olivers came up. The waiter was so friendly and there were very busy while we were there. The fish and chips were very tasty along with our sides of peas and curry. Definitely recommend them

Visited Oliver’s last year for the first time when we took my Aunty for a day out when visiting her from Nottingham & was very impressed then. We have been again today (01.08.2025), the fish & chips (haddock & cod) were the best we’ve eaten - everything perfect at reasonable prices too. The staff are a credit to Oliver’s- helpful, professional & friendly. Would certainly recommend this restaurant it’s decor & cleanliness is good, they also have a take-away shop across the road.

Lovely homely venue. Walked in and hadn't booked and seated immediately. Staff very friendly and courteous. Minutes later all the tables had been taken up. Ordered fish and chips with portion of gravy, peas along with a starter of salt and pepper squid. Squid was ok nothing special, 5 pieces per portion price was very reasonable Was expecting like a Chinese S&P squid but just deep fried pieces. Was our fault as this isnt a chinese takeaway so expectations of squid having onions peppers salt and pepper not Olivers fault Wasn't described as such so can't complain but wouldn't reorder as bland when tried Fish and chips were a decent portion but found batter on fish wasn't to our taste and had to peel it off both our plates Batter wasn't the normal light yellow puffy crispy batter as usually expected from fish and chippies but not tonight as tasted over done and batter wasn't light quiet the opposite and flat Meal came with tea and bread and butter choice of bread which was a plus. Overall don't think we'll be back but service and staff were an asset so may give a second call in when passing through Harrogate as may have been unlucky tonight The cafe was busy and shop also so may have been the reason for our meals being as served as was Again the staff are lovely

This place has gone downhill so much recently. Every time my partner and I decide to get food from here (which isn't often), it's been abysmal. Overcooked, brown chips, hard chips, meager chip portions. They must be reheated or something. The fish is always kinda bland. My partner said it's honestly the worst fish and chips he's ever had, today. I will say they do the best mushy peas, though. It's dingy in there and the staff are mostly men (one with a lengthy beard on him today... Don't think that's very hygienic!) which doesn't make for a pleasant atmosphere. I would honestly rather spend the extra £5 and go 5 minutes down the road and go to Bradley's in Starbeck. Bright, friendly, organised, always busy (because their food is great) and always perfect food. Not had a single issue yet. I don't think I'll ever get food from Drakes Knaresborough Road again after today.

Placed an order with drakes last week, scraps were missing from the orders which isn’t much of a big deal, but when they send you things that are not on your order, in this case battered mushrooms (which I am allergic to mushrooms) it’s not even remotely acceptable, I’ll attach pictures of the receipt and food. How can this be acceptable? If I had eaten them and gone into anaphylactic shock, this would have been a different story. Went through just eat as it was ordered from there to complain and they wouldn’t even slightly refund anything as an apology! Avoid this place like the plague!

One haddock, chips & mushy peas, for her very good although she doesn't like skin on fries. She raved about the peas. I had a plaice and chips, batter looked very light, but it was deceiving, the top was light but under very doughy, I peeled the batter off and found the plaice quite tasteless, I like skin on fries, but I also like them hot and a bit firmer, didn't give me the impression of recently cooked. Two pickled onions as my side, first one firm, but the other was unedited, but as I only expected one.

Sign says probably the best fish and chips in Harrogate and I have to agree they probably are. Excellent. Only issue was there was an uber driver in front of me getting a shipping order so I had to wait a while and I hadn't eaten for 24 hours literally.

Food quality was overall good with delivery. Feel like a few little touches let them down. Hand battered scampi tasted like the normal frozen packet style and in the sides it mentions homemade tartare sauce. As an option when you select items you can choose sauce options but Heinz packet was sent. I can see that was probably my fault because i didn't order homemade sauce separately but feels a bit cheap when you've got a homemade option to throw in a packet instead. Haddock size was good and chips nice.
Josh — Google review
My rating is based out of the total amount of times been there (5) whilst only 2 times being consistent. First 2 times buying 2 large fish & 1 large chips were great, easy, fast and reliable. The last 3 times being served there with the same order of 1 large chips and 2 large fish the staff members were childish (unprofessional & being silly with one another) / forgot my order so I was left waiting long than necessary / my order was sized incorrectly (but the 1 time I spotted it, it was corrected - ordered large chips, gave small, it was amended). Tonight I ordered my usual 2 large fish and chips & left my partner to deal with the transaction, according to her they were exactly as described as above, when we returned home I found out that not only had she been charged the full amount for 2 large fish & 1 chips but we received an actual handful of chips...I called up to notify them but the female staff member on the phone was clearly so uninterested in what I had to say about the order that she asked if I was "Still talking" & "there's nothing I can do about it, bye"...So customers of this local chippy all the advice I can give you is to be aware of your order(s) make sure you have been charged for what you want and always keep an eye out. Honestly if you're looking for a great chippy try out Bradley's.

McDonald's is a well-established, enduring fast-food establishment renowned for its hamburgers and French fries. It offers exceptional customer service and delivers satisfying meals. The friendly staff seldom make mistakes, though occasionally they may inadvertently include ice in beverages when specifically requested without it. Overall, the restaurant maintains a high standard of cleanliness and organization. Whether you are in need of a quick snack or quenching your thirst, McDonald's is worth considering due to its convenient operating hours.
Delivered cold mush with mushed upbits of several other orders in it some not even macdonalds, not edible, unclean, food saftey standards zero. Staff rude, could not careless. Told to f off and take it by delivery driver who had 4 or 5 other orders jammed in dirty bags that smelt rancid. This place needs to loose it food saftey rating. Order had been openned prior to delivery, split bags, drinks all split, Bits of fluff and other junk mixed into order... beyond zero food hygenie. If your delivery drivers are running 4 or 5 phones at pick up whynot stop using them????.

I was extremely disappointed with my recent visit. The fries were cold and soggy—I had to throw them away. The burger quality was unacceptable: the chicken was hard, cold, and inedible; I managed half before discarding it as well. The condition of the restaurant was equally poor. The toilets were filthy and smelled so bad it was difficult to breathe. The floors and tables were dirty, which is far below the standards I expect from McDonald’s. It seemed as though there was no management presence—if that’s the case, I strongly suggest hiring someone capable of running the place properly. I don't normally write reviews, but this experience was unacceptable!

Waited half hour on food was cold by time we got it. Told the manager he just walked away. The place was beyond disgusting, I couldn't take pictures of the back as to not invade the workers privacy but the front was just as bad. Your shoes were sticking to the floor, I had to end up binning the food as was cold and was so put off by the hygiene standards, won't be back thats for sure

Came in for food, and was presented by a gentleman of African decent, who shouted at me “I’m not cleaning up next to that white boy” I didn’t think anything of it until the same server rejected my order. I have done nothing wrong to this guy. I did 20-40 deliveries a week for them dying lockdown and now I can’t get served, because I’m white. Want cold food? Order from here.

Terrible. No disabled access to the toilets which are up two dirty flights of stairs with puddles and dropped food. The parking is non existent and customers have to pay and walk to the "restaurant". Just to top it off the food took an age to be dispensed - bacon and egg was ordered and dry sausage arrived. We were stood amongst young, disrespectful, swearing squaddies. Come on McDonald's, you can do better .

This has to be the filthiest McDonald's I have ever been to. It has to be a health hazard. The toilets are DISGUSTING! The floors of the restaurant are full of litter and food. I stayed in the town for a month over the summer. Everytime I asked for a milkshake, mcflurry or ice-cream. "The machine is broken". Who ever is the manager, area manager, owner. This restaurant is disgraceful. Let's face it, it's not cheap food anymore!

A stain on Harrogate and a magnet for antisocial behaviour. I stayed in a nearby short-rental apartment for two nights and barely got a wink of sleep til 6am due to drunken morons shrieking, shouting and fighting outside of this McDonalds all night. Who in God’s name allows this place, along with numerous pubs to trade all night. Surely a 2 or 3pm curfew is adequate without encouraging people hang around screaming, shouting and fighting all through the night until it is light the next day.

Coronation Fisheries is a popular chippy in Harrogate, Yorkshire, known for its freshly cooked and delicious food. The shop prides itself on serving freshly cooked meals to order, with a notice indicating a 20-minute wait during busy times. Customers have praised the gluten-free options available, including battered fish and sausages. Despite being busy at times, the staff efficiently serve customers. The jumbo haddock and crispy golden batter are particularly recommended by visitors.
As a southerner coming to Yorkshire is always a breath of fresh air. The people are friendly and the towns speak for themselves. The food well. I've got to say they know how to cook around here and my god does this place know how to do fish n chips. Cooked fresh in front of you to perfection. I absolutely love how they cook chips in Yorkshire in beef dripping. Anyway fish n chips from here were spot on can not fault at all would highly recommend paying a visit if local or like me not.

Yet another Yorkshire gem of a chippy found whilst stopping in the nearby Premier Inn at Hornbeam Park I decided to do some research for a Friday Chippy Tea. All the food is freshly cooked to order with notices in the window stating a 20min wait can be expected at busy times. Let me tell you it’s worth the wait for your freshly cooked stunning food. I opted for Fish and Chips and a battered jumbo sausage with a side of curry sauce all at a very reasonable price. Take a visit if in the area you will not be disappointed at all.

KFC Harrogate - High Street is a popular takeaway spot that specializes in their famous buckets of fried chicken, alongside combo meals and sides. While this small branch can get quite busy, it has seen improvements in service over time. Diners have noted some inconsistencies with items like gravy and hot wings, but the original recipe chicken remains a reliable favorite. Although there have been mixed reviews about the newer fries, many still find themselves stopping by for a quick bite when passing through.
Since the renovation, the food quality has significantly improved—it's now crispy and juicy. Eight out of ten orders meet good quality standards. The staff are friendly and helpful.

We ordered via uber eats and have had good experiences in the past. The food on this occasion was unfortunately very overcooked and they had run out of gravy. Everything tasted very strange compared to usual and from chatting with the locals, the store seems to be really deteriorating. Based on the food quality and the over £30 price tag for our order, I don’t think we’ll be ordering here again in the future

Ordered a couple of meals via Deliveroo. Looked like meal had been tossed around and squashed prior to delivery. Only to find a budgie breast cunningly disquised and marketed as a chicken breast! But not to outdoo the disapointment of this, the chips that came looked and tasted like they had been warmed up 3 days ago and sent out to us. Sent numerous e mails to their "No" customer support only for them to take no responsiility for the quality of food and told me to take it up with deliveroo as thats who we paid! So, no help at all and a refusal to take any responsibilty. We wont be eating from KFC again

Pizza Takeout
Papa Johns Pizza is a popular chain known for its wide selection of classic and specialty pizzas, as well as wings, sides, and desserts available for take-out and delivery. While many customers rave about the great quality of their pizza options, some have mixed feelings about the garlic butter dip. Overall, it's a go-to spot for delicious pizza cravings.
One of the worst delivery experiences of my life. Waited nearly an hour, food arrived wrong. Called up and got a very argumentative guy called Gill who tells me that the pizzas were right and that's just how they make them. I then list the plethora of ingredients on the pizza that weren't listed on the website before he finally agrees that they're incorrect. He offers me a refund or redelivery and I foolishly agree to redelivery. He tells me they're busy so it would take some time. Another hour goes by and I call for an update and I'm told the food would be with us in 15 minutes. It arrives, we open the box and they're incorrect again. I call back and speak to Gill who tells me that "this time I made them from the recipe". I tell him that the bases and the toppings don't match what's listed on the menu but he's adamant that they're correct. I ask for a refund as it's not nearly 2.5 hours since the original order went in, and Gill tells me I have to request my refund online. There is nowhere on the Paper Johns website to do this, so I inform Gill of that fact. He tells me they're unable to process a refund and the website is the only way to do it. I asked him to check the website himself and possibly help guide me to where s refund could be requested, and upon checking, he agrees there is nowhere to request said refund and the site actually asks you to contact the store. Unable to proceed, I'm not waiting on a call back from the manager (tomorrow) to attempt to arrange a refund. As for the food, the pizza was somehow simultaneously dry and greasy. Odd taste. One of the worst pizzas I've ever eaten. Would not order again. Pic was meant to be a cheese pizza...

If I could put one star I would. Ordered vegan pizzas, only the next day realised that one has actual ham in it, and by no accident mind you! We discovered that ham pieces were on purpose literally hidden underneath every vegan pepperoni slice! How messed up that is to do it intentionally?? Disgusting and evil. Do you really hate vegans so much - the person who worked there on the 4th of Feb at 8-9pm? Grow up, so childish! Also, other things were messed up, such as missing toppings and the wrong sauces. Need to mention also that one of the pizzas was gluten free, which means it should arrive NOT sliced to avoid cross contamination by using the same knife as on a regular base pizzas, but there was one issue - the gluten free pizza was sliced already, meaning they probably cross contaminated it with wheat. Great! I have celiac disease, which means I cannot have gluten…!!!! Be careful Papa johns with messing up orders and having inconsiderate employees on purpose do malicious things to food cause it can literally be lethal, if someone has severe allergies to a specific ingredient and they end up consuming it without knowing. Because apparently you like to hide things in people’s food! Be careful, you might get yourself a lawsuit if the worst happens. You have such bad reviews everywhere for this Harrogate Papa Johns branch. Do you really not care about customers? We loved Papa Johns living elsewhere but now that we’ve moved to Harrogate it has completely been ruined for us. Management needs to step up and actually do their job and I don’t know maybe fire employees at fault.

Terrible. Took 1.5 to arrive and was delivered 20 minutes after tracker said it had arrived. Food was cold and pizza was stuck to the lid. Wrong side was also delivered. When I tried to call the store it took 7 times to finally get through about where my food was
Gee S — Google review
Papa Johns was advertising 60% off pizza throughout January. We decided to take advantage of this. Placed an order and paid the 30+ quid the food amounted too. Went onto the "track your order" page only to be told that our order was cancelled and to Contact the shop. Upon contacting the shop and explaining our situation, the person on the phone asks for our address so they can locate our order. After a moment of silence they respond by saying "we've ran out of dough and can't make any pizza". Why was I asked for my address if the order couldn't be made? Why was the restaurant still accepting orders on their website if they were out of dough? Does a pizza restaurant run out of dough and stay open? To their credit, I was told I would be refunded in 3-5 working days and I have been. My original review was deleted. If 0 stars was an option I would give this experience 0 stars.
Joshua S — Google review
Ordered a few times and each time the Papa Johns app says the food has been delivered and it arrives, cold, nearly 30 minutes later. We’ve contacted them to let them know on each occasion but the staff don’t appear to be interested and there’s always an offer of a “free pizza next time” which we’ve never received. On the third occasion, the member of staff on the phone refused to put my partner through to a manager/supervisor, later pretending she couldn’t hear him, hanging up the phone and now no one is answering. It’s a shame such a well known brand is being let down by poor customer service.
Bobs C — Google review
Avoid! Avoid!! Avoid!!! There are always issues with this place! Thought we’d give them another try to see whether they could redeem themselves, however, I am beyond disappointed. Previously they have missed items or given wrong items to us. The order today was the final straw. It took 1 hour and 40 minutes from ordering to actually receive our order and when we did receive it only one of the five items was actually hot. This suggests a breach of food hygiene standards where items are left out for an extended amount of time before given to a customer. This is disgraceful for an order that was £43! It should not be up to the customer to reheat a delivery service’s food after only just receiving it. When trying to phone them to ask where our order was the phone was hung up before being answered several times. Once the delivery driver arrived he had not looked at the delivery instructions as to which house to deliver it to which in itself was yet but another hassle. When ordering a delivery service I don’t expect to have to chase the driver down the street to make sure that they deliver to the correct house. It is also small portions sizes for the price that you are paying. Will not be using again!
Jess H — Google review
SHOCKING SERVICE! Ordered a pizza that never arrived, no-one answered the phones whilst I was chasing up the delivery. Called the following day to be told only the manager could process a refund and they were not in until the following day, I was advised they'd ensure that was sorted out and it'd take a few days to be received. One week later....no refund received, call the store to be told refunds could only be processed online and not from store. No-where online to request refund other than customer services feedback form. Have left feedback, order number and e-mail...who knows if I'll ever receive a refund.
Anne H — Google review
I don't know where to start with this review. We live in a 5 minute drive of the place but had to wait 35 minutes for the delivery guy to deliver all other orders and then deliver us stone cold pizza. On top of the pizza and sides being cold , the order was also wrong. One of the pizzas was missing two of the main toppings and one side was completly incorrect and the other had the wrong dip. It was the first time ordering and will definitely be the last. What a waste of money.

This place sells oriental-style takeaway food, like fried rice, boiled rice, curried mushrooms, beef (with that red edge thing going on) in black bean sauce, noodles, prawn toast(!), prawn crackers(!), won ton soup, vegetable spring rolls, peeking duck & hiding dragon....You get the idea. It's located on a road with a door for ease of access.

Pre ordered for first time delivery via the website as the app is for an ancient version of android. Can't knock them on timing, said it would be about 5.10pm, turned up at 5.15pm, driver was pleasant enough. Price isn't bad. Ordered safe due to first time trying the place.. dry special fried rice, curry sauce, salt n pepper chicken. Rice had plenty of sliced meat and prawns, i think maybe they missed the train to flavour town though unfortunately. Curry sauce was honestly a bit tasteless. Salt n pepper chicken, was, just battered chicken, and not much of it with raw green pepper carrot, onion and what resembled red chillis. The fresh chillis weren't spicy, or even chilli tasting at all. The chicken just tasted like any battered chicken and could have come from Aldis freezer aisle. Overall, disappointing

BINNED - Where it belongs! Tried it, and binned the lot. Got two chicken tikka pittas. The salad was wrong, asked for lettuce and instead got all cabbage. The chicken was dry, stale, and gross. The pitta was stale and a week old. The chips tasted like they'd been microwaved. I mean for goodness sake, you're a take away joint. If you can't handle multiple orders and have to push out low quality stale mush to stay ahead; you're doing it wrong. Never ordering from here again, don't recommend anyone else does either.

ordered food strictly stated NO ONIONS and they arrive with ONIONS. Phoned to complainant all he did was argue the point that there were no onions and they DON’T use white onion it’s all over every mix man I’ve ever had. He proceeded to tell me it was cabbage knowing fine well there is a member of the family with a SEVERE allergies to ONION. I’m not an idiot I know onion when I see it. I’ve put a picture on the photo section which clearly shows ONIONS even a piece of actual CABBAGE next to it. The food this time was terrible, the chips were hard the chicken nuggets couldn’t even be bitten into by my 5 year old they were that hard. It’s very disappointing as Khans is usually very, very good. Normally amazing curry. Poppadoms seems old and not crisp. Not sure what was wrong with the rice but wasn’t as good as normal. Slightly disappointed. Hope it gets better as used to be our local favourite
DJ V — Google review
Cant understand how this place has good reviews, doner meat doesn't have meat in taste gritty and grainy ended up chucking it in the bin along with the chips that burst with oil in your mouth as if they where cooked ten times. Cheese on garlic bread cheap and not mozeralla. First and last time ordering, waste of money ended up in bin.

Fish and chips takeaway
Fast food restaurant
The Wharfe of Harrogate is a local favorite for its amazing fish and chips. The portions are generous, and the food is freshly prepared with professional care. Customers rave about the value for money, with some dishes being enough to feed two people. The fish is always fresh, the chips are perfect, and the mushy peas are thick and delicious. This place takes pride in its food quality, making it a must-visit spot in Harrogate for anyone craving top-notch fish and chips.
The fish and chips here are absolutely superb. Generous portions and good value.

Just ordered for the first time despite living nearby and it's definitely the last time. The batter was thin, no flavour and so soft it shouldn't be called batter. As for the miserable couple running it , I've already said enough there. If they actually heated up the oil to a hot temperature and then practised frying fish it would help them, perhaps a smile thrown in would help as well.

We bought sausage & chips well I say chips they were just hard crispy bits. Not a decent size chip to be had. Sausage was luke warm at best and very greasy inside. Won't be back and won't recommend

Went in a couple of weeks ago, ordered the "Special" Fish, it turned out to been 2 fish? Had chips with that. The fish was greasy as were the chips, they are NOT being fried at the right temperature. Why are they using a stupid batter? It does not work at low temperatures. Lesson: 1. A "Batter" is to protect the fish inside and allow it steam itself to optimum full flavour and firmness. My first and last visit! Have been to the Wharfe in Otley a couple of times... no problems.

AWFUL!! I don’t know what to say apart from awful and save your money. I got chips, gravy and chicken nuggets. My daughter got a child’s fish & chips. I don’t think the fish or chicken nuggets are cooked correctly and my child could do a better job as an employee as she said as soon as she saw the pale sticky floppy batter on her fish that the batter isn’t cooked properly. The chips are a weird pale colour ive never seen at a chip shop before until now. The gravy I don’t think it’s gravy i think it’s cement! It’s unbelievable how think it is. Your fork can stand upright on its own with no support in that stuff. It’s horrible it’s not gravy it’s not a sauce whatsoever. I asked if he could add some water he said no and apparently that is how they like their gravy at the wharf, it has been made clear it’s about what they want not making or trying to make the customer happy. You’ll need a knife and fork to just cut through the gravy never mind the food. Really disappointed wasted my money, hungry and sad that it used to be a really nice chip shop with friendly staff and now it’s seriously gone down hill and food in the bin!!!!

We visited this evening as an unplanned stop off during our walk and discovered our now fave fish and chip shop! Decent pricing and really yummy food!

Very good quality fish but spoilt as the fat was obviously not hot enough chips only just cooked and greasy and batter soggy and falling off
Thomas H — Google review
Got my food home, there was a fish missing from my order, the chips had so much salt on they were inedible and the special fish I ordered was soggy small and sad looking. Wont be going here again.

This pizza place is a great value for the money. They deliver and the pizza is always fresh.
this is the best pizza in harrogate! it is so good, and the chips are amazing too! ive been going here for years, and theyve never let us down! they dont do delivery but its worth the trip there and back!

Me and my family get pizza from this place at least once or twice a month, so you could say that we’re regulars. I always enjoy a margarita pizza and some garlic bread with cheese, but I’ve also had the fries in the past and they are delicious! The food always arrives within 20-25 minutes even on busy days too. The only downsides are: •You can only pay in cash. •There isn’t always parking outside. •It is only takeout and is not open on certain weekdays, so I’ve been looking forward to pizza before but then realised it was closed that day. Other than this, great place! Highly recommend.

Sent me a tiny pizza then was rude to me when I questioned the size

Good spot for a fresh pizza, a couple of good 'buy two pizzas for £' offers - cash only.

Easily my favourite pizza takeaway in Harrogate. Great value and great pizza. I get the impression the owner has a lot of regulars, like me, not just because he's great value, but because he makes your pizza the way you want it. Easy to park outside, if you're driving. I'd you always call your order in. They can get really busy.
John S — Google review
Gobsmacked by the reviews on here calling this place the best pizza ever... Either the reviews are fake, or incentivised, or the reviewers have never tasted a pizza from any other takeaway. Overpriced deep-pan DIY pizza (£11 on Uber Eats for a 10" pizza)... The base is FROZEN not fresh. We pay takeaway restaurants to provide food at a standard we can't cook or don't have time to cook at home. Anybody can put cheap toppings on a frozen base. Extremely disappointed. Please take your money elsewhere and get fresh ingredients that are worth your money.

Incredible Pizza! Incredibly affordable The deep pan bases are so nice you will be glad you can get another for £1. So crispy, The owner is nice guy and for the price your not going to find anything that even comes close. THEY TASTE SO GOOD IN MY MOUTH OMNOMOMN :D
