Turkish restaurant
Mediterranean restaurant
The Ephesus Restaurant is a locally owned establishment that offers a relaxed atmosphere and a variety of traditional Turkish dishes. The menu features flavorful options such as lamb kofte, chicken saute, lamb moussaka, special mixed grill, calamari, mixed platter, and cold/hot starters. The food is known for its freshness, exotic flavors, and generous portions. Customers praise the delicious meals and commend the attentive service despite some waiting time to order.
Took my daughter and her friend for a birthday meal out - food was delicious and the staff were very friendly. I asked them to fetch a cake I'd brought out after we'd eaten - they did, and got the whole restaurant signing Happy Birthday (yes, my daughter was mortified...lol...). Was a lovely experience - can't fault the staff at all, thank you!
Laurie B — Google review
Had the 3 course set menu….. excellent flavours and presentation, did feel slightly rushed, however, the food was authentic. Only negative, iasked the waitress what something was on my platter and she said sorry I don’t know and that was that, would have been nice for her to come back to me.. Maybe staff training on the variety of foods that are served…
Maisie S — Google review
First time visiting, won't be the last. Food was delicious, delivered timely and not over facing. The service was quick and the staff were charming. There was a birthday party ongoing when we visited, lively without being raucous. Would highly recommend this Huddersfield Gem!
Paul K — Google review
Chose this as it was one of the highest rated food places in Huddersfield. Satisfied - for 17.50 you get a nice 2 course meal eg king prawns starter and sizzling lamb guvec. Nice crispy chips with the chicken marmaris too. Food served speedily. Conveniently located right in front of the train station. Clean, bright toilet. No regrets.

What a wonderful meal! Just let down by the fact it was a very hot day and there was no air conditioning. But great place to eat - lovely staff, fast service, fantastic food

This is my go to restaurant for my teams Christmas meal, second year we have been and the food has been amazing, great staff, great atmosphere warm and welcoming. We will most definitely be back December 24 God willing!

It was my first time with Turkish cuisine and I'm loving it. This restaurant has wonderful welcoming staff and if it's been local or would have definitely been my local restaurant to impress friends and family. Highly recommended.
Harry T — Google review
My friend booked us in for the bottomless brunch for my birthday. First time going in. But won't be the last! The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Service was fast. Food was amazing. I could have drunk a lot more of the vodka sunset cocktails. Were offered a dessert menu but we were so full that we couldn't face dessert as well.

Genuinely the only place we love eating when we want beautiful local food ❤️. Always a seamless dining experience and the staff are always on point. Love our Eric xox

We were a party of 6 booked on what I knew would be a busy Saturday pre Christmas. When we arrived I did think we’d be greeted a bit speedier in the bar but no worries. Staff were friendly enough and sat us down and didn’t rush us to take our order. I felt they could however have been on the ball more with clearing glasses as the table was full enough with menus etc plus the table was on a slope. This meant the ice melt from the water jug was dripping onto us. I felt the placement of our table meant the waiters/waitresses had to kind of squeeze past and we felt inclined to sit forward every time someone needed to pass. We should have been on the back wall where there was a four and a two. The food was amazing, all of us had something different. I just felt that the small things, like the table placement, make a big difference in somewhere like this when you’re spending that kind of money, which is the only reason I have given three stars.
An R — Google review
Wow! What a wonderful meal. We were recommended by a friend and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to everyone. The food - superb. Service - amazing. Wine list - extensive and high quality. An absolutely perfect evening
Phil G — Google review
Another fabulous meal at Eric's. Never fails to deliver a top notch celebration dinner. For us, on our 20th anniversary, this was the #1 choice.
Lynne G — Google review
Great food and an amazing, cosy atmosphere. The menu is quite limited but this is likely the key to great flavour and therefore a great experience! Id rather have less choice but perfection in taste and flavour. We had a prior booking and were seated immediately. The food came out hot and within a few minutes of ordering. There was nothing that I wouldn't order again which is probably the highest praise I could give a restaurant.
Rayaan S — Google review
Highly recommend the private catering offered by Eric. He came to our air bnb and cooked 8 of us a three course meal that was absolutely incredible. The organisation was easy, the service was wonderful and the food was to die for. Wish we lived locally so we could experience it again.
Imogen B — Google review
Eric's in Lindley was exceptional! The king prawns were fresh and flavourful, the venison perfectly tender, and the sticky toffee pudding absolutely divine. Elegant setting, attentive service, a truly memorable fine dining experience.

Absolutely amazing food. We booked for 5.30pm Saturday. I started with the spring roll which was the most tastiest dish I had, choose this if you visit you will be impressed!! My partner had the kofta and then we had chicken and pork. The service was outstanding from our waiter. And all the staff was informed and polite. This was recommended from a friend and we was highly impressed. Thank you. This was our first date we have had after having our 3rd child.

The menu caters to various preferences, featuring comfort food classics as well as healthier options like salads. Guests praise the excellent service and welcoming atmosphere at Grappolo. The staff is commended for their warmth and attentiveness, creating a pleasant dining environment for patrons.
Amazing value. Great Italian atmosphere- very bubbly and friendly waiters. If it’s your birthday they play and sing to you… very cheap for top quality food
Tim C — Google review
Really packed & busy place. Credit to the staff who manage it all very well. The staff here are amazing: engaging, courteous, accommodating & friendly. The food is nice, although a little hit and miss sometimes. Some dishes are great. Always great quality however with some dishes the flavour isn't quite there. Still, we will be back again. Car parking can be an issue as its quite small for the size of the restaurant. Overall a positive experience, worth a visit.
Richard L — Google review
We’ve been coming to Grappolos for years for various birthdays and family get togethers! The food is always lovely, the waiters are always pleasant and welcoming. Thank you.

I love Italian food but its hard to find one thats halal. I was over the moon when I found this place especially when I realised its just down the street from me! Staff are amazing; kind and attentive. Its kid friendly and there is decent parking behind. The food I tried was delicious which included the fish cake which was very big. A yummy pasta dish and a side of mash which was just buttery goodness. I also tried dessert and again It was absolutely amazing. I can't wait to go back and try more!
A — Google review
I've heard the phrase "service personified" before, but I've never seen it in action quite like this. After a tough day at work, my partner and I chose Grappolo, and I'm so glad we did. The food was absolutely wonderful—easily one of the best Italian meals I've had in the UK. But honestly, even if they had served us a pile of burnt toast, I'd still be writing this review because of the service. The team was unbelievably quick and efficient, yet they managed to make the entire dining room feel so warm and welcoming. There was a lovely, relaxed atmosphere, even with a couple of birthdays happening. One waiter, in particular, was a real character; he made the birthday celebrations a memorable event, running around with a hot pink cowboy hat, and playfully getting the celebrants up for a little dance. It was all done in a way that was fun and charming, adding to the great atmosphere without ever being over the top. Grappolo isn't just a place to eat; it's a place where you can unwind and feel completely looked after. It's that perfect blend of top-notch food and service with a genuinely friendly, relaxed vibe. We'll be back very, very soon.
Karl H — Google review
We had a lovely time. The service was impeccable, the food was very tasty and arrived quickly We couldn't fault them and the value was exceptional. Cheaper than a takeaway but infinitely better.
Krystal C — Google review
Unfortunately on Sat night our experience with this place wasn't great! Over the years we have chose this place to celebrate many bdays! Taking guests of up to 30. Found the staff very rude and pushy to get us out! Hair in food! Taking unfinished food from the tables. I do believe they are over booking and been greedy now! Over the yrs of enjoying this place they won't be getting our custom again..

Lebanese restaurant
Mediterranean restaurant
Restaurant
Med-one Restaurant, located in Huddersfield, offers a diverse menu featuring authentic Lebanese cuisine. Despite its small size, the restaurant boasts an extensive selection of dishes including hearty goulash, stews, mezze, pizzas and kebabs. Popular options include the Lamb Maqluba and Med-One Moussaka. The restaurant caters to vegan diners with a wide range of dairy-free options such as stuffed vine leaves, falafel and homemade hummus dip.
Authentic Lebanese cuisine in downtown Huddersfield. This was a great time. The food was delicious, the wine was flowing and the company was excellent. The atmosphere was top notch and the staff were just so friendly. We will be back.
Julian G — Google review
Been going here for years, the flavour and food has stayed the same. I feel this is quite rare with restaurants so I’m pleased to still know the rice will be fluffy, buttery and flavourful. The flat bread and the garlic sauce and harissa sauce is amazing. Simple but super flavourful dishes. The shawarma was a little overcooked and not as flavourful as starters but it was still ok. Plenty of veggie options. The moussaka my friend got was amazing I’d probably get a different main now.
Nabeelah H — Google review
A great Lebanese restaurant located near the centre of Huddersfield. Clean and smart. Food is amazing, lots of flavour and choices, good portion sizes. Vegan and vegetarian options. Alcohol is available. Modern decor, very friendly attentive staff. Reasonable prices, you will not be disappointed. A reservation is high recommended
Russell H — Google review
A beautiful little treat we didn’t see coming. We were just passing by, looking for a place to eat, and decided to step in after reading a couple of Google reviews. The two of us shared a Lamb Maqluba and Lebanese Potatoes. If we had been hungrier, it wouldn’t have been enough for the two of us, as our server Ndea had honestly warned us. By the end, not a single potato or grain of rice was left. The spices and flavors made every bite feel like a new discovery. It was just before their lunch shift closing, around 2:30 pm, so Ndea’s full attention was on us. Her accent was music to our ears, and her friendly, honest approach was the perfect match to a perfect dish. We live two hours away and were only in Huddersfield for a small business, but if we’re back again, Med-One will be one of the first places on our list.
Amir A — Google review
Visited for the first time, and it wouldn’t be my last. We tried the Hummus, Dolma, and Spinach And Chicken Gratin. All these dishes were so tasty. The hummus so creamy and flavorful. Chicken gratin the the right blend of spices and cheese. Dolma was just a whole lot of flavor. You would like the dolma if you are a fan of tomato bases. The portion size was very generous as well.
Thanya W — Google review
We couldn’t have asked for a better venue to host our wedding reception. Med-one is truly exceptional. We had 20 guests and a 3 course buffet style meal that was outstanding. Very high quality food with a range that catered to every preference. Everything was fresh, flavourful, and beautifully presented. What really made the evening so memorable was feeling genuinely looked after by Khalil, Rojin and all their wonderful staff. We highly recommend Med-one for any special occasion, they helped make our wedding day truly unforgettable. It's a rare place to find where everything -food, service and ambience comes together so beautifully. Thank you all so much.
Ellie P — Google review
Med-One has been a family favourite for years. We always visit for family birthdays as the food never disappoints (flavour or portion size), along with super friendly staff. Beautiful interior and no complaints as to anything with this restaurant. If you desire to have a quieter experience (as my family does as we have autistic relatives), we recommend close to opening times, as not many people are there- but still the amazing experience. 👍

Brazilian restaurant
Botafogo Grill Huddersfield is a cozy restaurant located in the heart of the town center, offering an upbeat atmosphere and all-you-can-eat Brazilian grilled meats and sides. The place has gained popularity for its great-tasting Brazilian dishes, bringing the traditional Brazilian way of serving meats to West Yorkshire. It's a colorful and joyful spot with a diverse selection of meat served with an All You Can Eat System.
Just love this place! Unlimited meat and a good selection of salad and bread rolls. The service is top notch and although they add a 10% service charge at the end thw payment for this is optional although I can't fault it at all. All the food is cooked how you want it and is always lush. We have been here a few times and love going. Would highly recommend.
Sarah B — Google review
Really delicious food in a nice colourful setting, good vibes and friendly staff. If you’ve never been before the staff will bed you in nicely to how the protocol goes down. Unlimited salad bar with lots to choose from all freshly prepared, with dips and toppings too. An endless supply of meat coming round to the tables, cooked the way you desire! Chefs slice and serve table side and you get snapping up with your tongs. My favourite was the ‘Acem Comprido - Beef Shoulder’ altho the ‘Cordeiro - Minted Lamb’ was pretty divine too and the ‘Picanha Rump’ was very succulent! All the meat was incredible, well seasoned and very very tasty! Also loved the grilled pineapple. The cocktails slipped down all too easy, highly recommend the passionfruit twist on the Brazilian classic. This place is well worth a try, celebrate something special moments you’ll remember for years to come. On road paid parking available near by, free after 6pm.

Nice little unlimited salad bar, meats kept coming, all fresh and sizzling. Taste wise their signature beef is above and beyond and their cocktails were nice. The rest were okay.

The Service was both Friendly & Efficient and the Food was amazing 👏 The meats were all tender and flavoursome especially the Chilli Beef which we had to request as per the menu And absolute bargain for what you get and a very friendly restaurant

Visited here last night & it was amazing. 1) Food is perfectly cooked 2) Huge variety of Meats & Salads 3) So many drinks to choose from 4) Every staff member is so friendly 5) Restaurant is one of the cleanest restaurants i have visited in my life 6) The cheapest all you can eat Brazilian restaurant you will find 7) Top quality Meats & you can tell by the taste 8) Lovely small business I would recommend this place 100 times over, this is my favourite restaurant in the world & i think everyone should go here.
Warren A — Google review
Have been visiting this Brazilian restaurant on a Friday night with a reservation. My waiter introduced the rodizzio style dining very well. Despite some of the reviews state I didn't have to wait a long time until the chef started serving. As the other guests took a break at that time he was just a bit too fast as it almost ended up in a hurry eating. I did like most if the meat.
Markus — Google review
This place is the land of my dreams 😁😁😁 Botafogo is a religious experience simply divine!! And as a chef myself this is one of the only places I can eat beef the quality of the cook is spot on and the feijoada is literally the food of the gods!!! On previous visits I reviewed Botafogo as the home of Wizards (Chefs who are talented and skilled beyond all belief) and that evaluation still stands! I've missed them so much and it was great to come back for my baby sisters 27th Birthday Meal Keep doing what you do you beautiful souls!!! 🙏 The Hungry Biker ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Nestled in the charming Bents House, just a short stroll from Huddersfield's town center, The Scullery Kitchen and Bar offers a delightful dining experience within a beautifully restored historic setting. With its inviting garden terrace, it's an ideal spot to savor breakfast outdoors while basking in the sun. Their renowned bottomless brunches are not to be missed; indulge in delectable dishes from their brunch menu alongside unlimited drinks like Prosecco or mimosas.
I believe The Scullery is the best restaurant in Huddersfield. I have now been 4 times, including for an anniversary dinner and even once just to have a sit down and enjoy the relaxing atmosphere with a glass of mulled wine. The homemade food is always stunning, made with fresh and seasonal ingredients (they change their menu to fit the season because they use local products). I love their fish dishes and the second time I went I had the most amazing soup. The service is good and staff always do their best to accommodate even on busy days. I could not praise this place enough, absolutely love the food. The Scullery is a hidden gem and I will come again!!

High end food, lovely place and great staff sum this place up. It may be situated in an odd place with limited parking (there is pay and display a few minutes walk at £2-£3 for four hours so no big deal) We have visited a few times and my mum has been over double figures here with friends and family. Lovely place and the main man here is super friendly, food is absolutely spot on! Also came here for chistmas so included Christmas Day pics

Well, this restaurant is an absolute gem! We came down from Scotland for a gig and decided this looked like the type of place we would love! And it was!! We came in around 5 and we were the only dinners! We got 5 star treatment from Steve and the food was unbelievable, so good in fact, I ordered a second starter!! 🤣🙌 next time we come down, we will 100% be coming here!!

First time I have been here, going for a Sunday lunch/dinner. Really nice three course meal ( I had the roast pork). Very nice and pleasant inside and very nice staff too. I think I will be eating here again at some point 👍
Graeme W — Google review
There is a sign on the inside stating this restaurant is a hidden gem and I truly think it is. From the moment we entered the staff were beyond friendly and presentable. Staff were beyond accommodating for our vegan member and small child, asking if we needed a kids menu, providing a high chair pre-arrival. It truly felt like the staff took pride in their roles and enjoyed working there. The venue was quiet whilst we were there 3-5 Sunday. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, food was stupendous and the drinks equally enjoyable! It is a little outside of town but most definitely worth the visit if you find yourself able to! The Sunday set course was ~£27 for 2 courses and ~£33 for 3 courses which given the quality of the food is great value for money. Definitely one you leave with an extra button undone and most definitely look forward to visiting again in the future!

Think this is my 4th visit and it was as tremendous as ever. Excellent Sunday roast, always a rarity out! Good veggie options. Reasonably priced wine list too. Fabulous staff. I'll be back, as someone famous once said.

Located in the heart of Huddersfield, Arcade Coffee & Food is a charming café nestled within the Byram Victorian Arcade. While not entirely vegan, this cozy spot offers an array of delectable vegan options on its menu, from breakfast and lunch dishes to tempting cakes. The cafe prides itself on using fresh locally sourced ingredients and features a rotating monthly menu that promises something new with each visit.

I've been coming here for seven years - can you believe it's already been that long! - since it opened. It's gone through a few growing pains in that time, and a few chefs to boot, but I have to say that they seem to have found their stride in general offering a great lunch spot in Huddersfield. It brings the vibe of a Leeds coffee house to Huddersfield. The drinks offerings are fantastic and as far as I know they try to support UK or local suppliers and growers. My favourite place for a meat-free full English. It can occasionally be a bit chilly in there if you're staying longer than an hour - I wonder if they would invest in better heating or blankets? Service often top-notch, one or two front of house members really stand out in terms of how attentive they are and how well they look after you. Once you've been more than twice they're more than likely to remember you which is damn impressive because I'm willing to bet they have a lot of regulars at this point. Regular seasonal menu reviews as far as I'm aware which keeps things fresh. Try their supper clubs for a special night out - if you're a foodie you'll love it. Keep it up guys :)

One of my favourite spots in Huddersfield. Arcade has nailed the art of great coffee and even better food. Everything they put out is made with care and attention to detail - the coffee and food looks and tastes incredible. Highly recommend!

It was a quiet morning so I was able to eat and drink and knit for a while. I had the mango oat and granola thingy which was ok but the mango was soooo sweet and gooyie. Too sweet. It would have been better with fresh mango . The salted caramel latte was the first I'd ever had as they had no hazelnut syrup. It was pretty disgusting to my taste but others may enjoy it. It's a taste thing. Again too sweet for me. I should have asked for less syrup. Staff were ok. I would go back again and try something different.

Every time I come back to Huddersfield I always make sure to visit Arcade. The food is delicious and they have many great vegetarian options, the staff are always friendly and welcoming and their hot chocolate is one of the best in the UK as it’s made with real chocolate. Have visited multiple times and it's always lovely food and service, complimentary crackers on arrival with a vegetarian version on request which are so good! We took advantage of the early bird menu on a Tuesday evening which is great value and everything we had was delicious. Highly recommend :)

Went for the early bird, lots of options to cater for everyone vegetarian/halal/meat eaters. Service was good, food took a while to come out but was worth the wait. Tried the mixed starter was an extra £3 but you get a little bit of everything. Portion sizes were good ,we were absolutely stuffed.

Absolutely amazing food, Amazing service, and unrivaled consistency. We've never had even the smallest of complaints here. It is now the benchmark that we judge all other Thai food on. Great work guys!

I don’t usually write reviews but for someone who has never had Thai food before this experience was incredible. The food is beautiful and literally with every bite you take you can taste different flavours which feels refreshing. The place is busy but the customer service is really good. They accommodated us with halal options and told us which dishes would be popular. Only downside is we need more of that salted caramel ice cream the buttery taste will fly you away! I think this place is my new go to now! I would actually give this place more stars if I could.
Khushbu — Google review
This is one of my favourite places to eat around the area I currently live. The food is always fresh and delicious while the service is outstanding. I'm going to leave our favourite dishes below. Starter: - no. 12 (Gung Chut Beng Tort - deep fried prawns) rated 10/10 by my wife. - no. 6 (Sea-Krong Moo - slow baked spare ribs in a sweet and sour sauce) rated 9/10 by my dad. I'm sure it was a 10/10 but some elders don't believe in perfection. 👀🤣 Mains: - no. 30 (Pad Gra-pao - spicy stir fry) 9.5/10 Other dishes we had in the past and loved: No. 10 (Geaw Tort) No. 15 main (Tom Yam) No. 26 (Geng Pbaa "Jungle Curry") No. 34 (Pad Pet Nor Mai) No. 44 (Geng Pet Ped Yang) No. 64 (Pad Pak Pasom) If you can't handle spicy food, ignore ny favourites and only take into account the food quality and the service.

Stayed for 5 nights to visit family. Rooms are in an annex at the back of the pub. Very noisy fire doors banging till early hours of the morning on most nights. Walls are paper thin. Upstairs rooms are gloomy due to small windows at head height. Curtains kept falling off the rail, bed very firm. Room 16 has a strange smell so we moved rooms, staff were accommodating. No covered walkway to the main pub for breakfast. Rooms not cleaned throughout our stay only milk and tea replenished. Meals were very good and service from pub and restaurant staff was very good. Nice pub garden. Good size car park. No where to walk out to, as on a busy road, had to have a car.

If you're on the lookout for an authentic Indian dining experience, look no further than Destination Indian Restaurant & Bar in Slaithwaite. This gem has quickly become a favorite among locals and visitors alike, thanks to its exceptional cuisine and welcoming atmosphere. On my recent visit, I was impressed by how accommodating the staff were; despite being busy on a Saturday night, they promptly found us a better table when we requested one.
It’s been a while, such a surprise, the decor has been tastefully upgraded, improved acoustics and lighting. With an opulent but authentic Indian vibe. The one thing unchanged, is Chef Sam’s dedication to the highest quality menu, cooked to perfection, served by his cheery and attentive staff, under his fatherly supervision. And the personal attention of the great Chef, checking in with diners. This is NOT ‘going out for a curry’. This is FINE dining at its best. Delightfully piquant, tasty and beautifully presented. Congratulations on the well deserved awards and see you again soon. Rick and Fi

First time trying Destination, even though I’ve lived in the area for five years — and wow, it did not disappoint! I’d only ever heard good things, and now I understand why. The food was absolutely beautiful. It almost didn’t feel like a takeaway because everything tasted so fresh, vibrant, and full of strong flavours. The yellow poppadom dip in particular blew me away — there was a toasted note in it that was just gorgeous! I don’t think I’ve ever had a takeaway where it’s so clear that everything is made fully in-house, with such care and attention. 10/10. Eat there now. Love, love, love!

Wow, we was a party of 24, we went in today for a family birthday. The atmosphere was so professional, the front of house was amazing, polite, professional, everyone had uniforms, the chef came out to greet us and sing happy birthday, the food was incredible. This is by far the best restuarant I've been too in a long time. The care with plating, tablewear down to the little touches like roses on the table, swapping out, the food came out so quickly, it was unbelievable both myself and my partner have worked as chefs and we have nothing on this place. Please visit its incredible and the prices are worth the food, I wouldn't be mad if they put the prices up.

We were a fairly large group x15 in total nawaab does an early bird menu which is really good value considering how nice the food is. Nice beers on tap and the staff were witty and friendly. Plus the building was quite impressive had a nice bit of history there. Well worth the visit if your in the mood for a decent curry. Enjoy

We came here on the off chance as we don’t really know Huddersfield. We decided on the £15.95 3 course set menu. The place was empty but we got there early, it’s a little dated inside but the staff are so lovely. The popadom and chutneys weren’t the best, for starters we had onion bahji which wasn’t great but the meat and aloo tiki was lovely, it’s kind of a seasoned mash potatoe deep fried both with side salads. Then for main we had lamb Nawaabi which was absolutely gorgeous and full of flavour and a chicken Achari which was very unusual, different and couldn’t work out what spice but really enjoyable. The peshwari naan was one of my faves - it had pistachios in it i think and was a perfect accompaniment, alongside the pilau rice. We were then offered tea/coffee, hot clothes and a mint chocolate. The staff are so sweet and helpful. We took a doggy bag home as couldn’t manage to eat everything.
Lauren R — Google review
Fantastic service as always at Nawaab! Ibi and Ash always look after us so well, but the whole team can never do enough to make sure you have a 10/10 meal and experience. I’m gluten free and always feel like I have a wealth of choice on the Nawaab menu. On this visit, we ordered a ‘Create your own’ Thali and chose: Chicken Nirali, Chicken Healthy Option and Lamb Achari with our usual pilau rice. It was delicious and so flavourful. No curries ever compare for us! Thanks guys.
Ellie M — Google review
The food was bland and the Curry's were very watery!!! Never had this before anywhere but after mentioning this to the waiter who collected the plates he stated this depended on what chef was working at the time. We mentioned this on paying as well and they said they would pass the comments onto the chef. I'm not sure if paying 75 quid for the early bird plus drinks cuts the fact they will pass a message onto the chef. Been here many times before but sadly this will be our last as the watery curry has put me off curry for good.
Joseph H — Google review
Very small portion sizes especially for how much you pay. The food is bland, ordered chicken handi and it was very runny and tasteless. Place is a joke! And staff seems very unorganised, looking like only one waiter at the place. What a joke

Nestled in the charming village of Kirkburton, Norman's Neighbourhood Kitchen has quickly established itself as a culinary hotspot since its opening. Featured in the Michelin Guide within just a year, this delightful eatery offers an innovative menu that showcases thoughtful flavor and texture combinations. Diners rave about standout dishes like Marmite butter Jerusalem artichokes, beetroot tartare, and pan-seared stone bass with pickled onions.
Wonderful meal! A real treat for foodies looking for well-curated and unique dishes. We especially loved the stone bass (expertly cooked) and mackerel tart nibbles. The staff were all lovely and helpful, attentive without being overly so. Perfectly-sized place too. Would love to come again soon and try the new menu rotation!

I'm not one to mince words and I can't describe this restaurant as anything but absolutely superb. The staff are brilliant, charming, helpful and knowledgeable. They know the menu inside and out, they know their wines and they make the difficult task of services look effortless. The food has left me enraptured. The venison melted lime butter in my mouth, the cauliflower was delightful and the 'pig and prawn' starter was divine. The only criticism I can find is that the bramble jam over-powered the duck a little. I will freely admit that is a bit of user error as each taken alone was beautiful, a delicious delicate duck breast and tart and flavourful berries. The food are small plates, get a few and share the experience with friends or family, though prepare to be quick because the final bites will be hotly contested. This restaurant is going to go places and I'm excited to see where that is. Drop what you are doing and go as soon as you can. Personally, it's 5*. Frankly, I'll be shocked if they won't boast at least one Michelin star by the end of the decade.

We booked here for birthday celebrations and were absolutely blown away! The food was spectacular – a special shoutout to the roasted carrots and the beef tataki. There was a great selection of cocktails and some lovely wine, too. The staff were so welcoming and friendly. We didn’t manage to catch any names, but the team working on 16/04 were absolutely wonderful. We were given a complimentary drink as a birthday welcome, which was very much appreciated and really added to the evening. From crispy aubergine starters to coconut milk-infused curries, spicy salads, and even vegan sushi, each dish is meticulously prepared with the freshest herbs and spices.
Came here as part of a trio for an after work meal. Have never eaten at a Thai restaurant before so have nothing to compare too - however the food was incredible. Full of flavour, good solid portion sizing and for what I ordered - very well priced too. Had a starter of spring rolls (you got 4) followed by Sesame Chicken & Rice. The staff were lovely and so polite - service was a little slow as there was a few customers in but honestly with how good the food was and the staff being so friendly I didn't mind at all. Would definitely revisit if back working in Huddersfield again

My partner and I visited TJ Thai & Japanese Restaurant for dinner without a reservation, and we were pleasantly surprised by how well the staff handled our walk-in. The team at the reception was incredibly polite, friendly, and professional. After checking their booking schedule, they informed us that they had a table available for us, but it was reserved for two hours later. They kindly let us know about the time constraint upfront, which we appreciated. Given that two hours was more than enough for our meal, we happily accepted the offer. This level of care, especially without a reservation, was impressive and much appreciated. Once inside, we were struck by the beautiful interior. The Asian-inspired decor and ambiance really set the mood for a great dining experience. The service continued to impress us throughout the evening. When my partner couldn’t decide on a dish, our server took the time to ask about her preferences rather than just suggesting a random item from the menu. This personalized approach made us feel well taken care of. As for the food—simply amazing! The portions were generous, and every dish was delicious. Another detail that stood out was the attentive service; without us having to ask, our water glasses were refilled whenever they were empty. It’s those small touches that really elevate the experience. We had some leftovers, and the staff was more than happy to provide takeout boxes for us to bring the food home. While the prices were a bit on the higher side, the quality of service and food made it worth every penny. I’ve given this place 5 stars and would highly recommend it. Thank you to the team for a wonderful evening—keep up the great work!

Food is great Just a shame, they don't accommodate to those who need access to the disabled facilities and baby changing throughout the renovations. They had to clean the area before being able to use safely, surely this should be kept up to standard
Caitlin — Google review
Definitely won’t be visiting this place again. Lala’s Huddersfield just isn’t the same anymore. The food is a shame - dry, generic and boring. It‘s closer to takeaway standard and you can tell the quality of ingredients have taken a dive. They can’t even do a mango lassi right. The actual building and decor itself is now outdated and needs a fresh redo as well. Overall, one to stay away from unless you’re desperate for a curry.
Hamzah A — Google review
Not what it used to be and won't be back. As a long time fan of Lala's in Wakefield (prior to Huddersfield opening), and Huddersfield since (as the chef moved), I was disappointed on my last visit (Oct 2019), but tonight (quite Monday in March 2022) gave it another try. Wish I hadn't, things had only got worse. The amazing venue is let down by both food and service. The chicken tikka sizzler is ok, and was on previous visit too. Garlic naan similarly was ok as was salad. That's where it ends though. Poppadoms arrived with the waiters thumb holding them down in the basket! Pickle tray was band. Mutton Bhuna was not a bhuna, way to wet. Meat was tender, but the curry itself was too wet and salty with spices not cooked out. Chapati were quite dry, as were the onion bhaji. Seated quickly on arrival. Waited an eternity for someone to order drinks, so much so that we immediately also ordered food, and asked for the starters with the main, so they would get straight on with cooking the mains to catch up some time. When serving, everything arrived except the bhuna and the sizzler. It was another five minutes before they turned up. The curry with the sizzler was not nice, and very very watery; wasn't eaten. Normally I'd have given a restaurant the chance to try again, but 1) I didn't have the time, and 2) I'm convinced this was already their A game so no point. Staff were friendly enough, just not attentive or timely. Sorry Jnr, never thought standards would slip this low and I'd find myself writing such a poor review. I won't be back as the journey from Wakefield is not worth the risk of disappointment.

Had a random Curry night here with the missus after work, the restaurant itself is very spacious with a nice ambiance, atmosphere is friendly and relaxed the food was perfect, not overly spicy or bland, just right. Service was top drawer and spoke for a while with a member of staff that is a united fan which was a bonus, highly recommend this gem of a restaurant

Nestled at the top of a hill, Shepherds Arms is a charming village pub that perfectly balances a cozy atmosphere with an inviting community spirit. It's an ideal spot for those looking to enjoy good conversation over delicious food and drinks without the hustle and bustle of busier venues. The menu features both classic bar fare and gourmet options, making it suitable for any occasion—from casual meals to special celebrations like graduations or surprise birthdays.
Really nice pub would return if i lived in the area. Visited for a beer and some food with wife and infant daughter, large carpark, is located at the top of the hill, staff and the locals were very welcoming. Nice selection of ales lagers and spirits. Restaurant section looked to be closed, but the lounge was bright and modern finish. Pub menu was served as per the website but they had a nice choice of specials. Had the special starter peri peri chicken samosa with pickled molis, perfect balance of curried samosa, sharp pickled mooli and spicey peri, came with an interesting almost experimental bread and charcoal garlic butter, mmm yummy main was a wholesome hearty gaint yorkshire brimmed with onion gravey and sausages dressed with a herby oil and fries on the side, was perfectly portioned for a big fella like me, may be too much for some, but a brilliant meal. Finished off with a white chocolate raspberry blondie, with a tart raspberry coolis and custard. Wife had the burger was thick and tasty, nicely seasoned. Daughter had a big portion of fish fingers and chips. Table services was efficient and friendly. Locals were nice to talk to aswell. We all left happy and full, would recommend.

An excellent village pub at the heart of the community, not only serving the normal bar food but also excellent gourmet food as well. Steak night is a must or the fish and chips are the best in Huddersfield!

Wow, I was really surprised how much I enjoyed everything about this restaurant. A delightful setting and ambience, followed by the most delicious food. Our USA friend really enjoyed his steak, as we all did, and the wine and the service was fantastic. We will be back.

Absolutely stunning!!! My partner took me here for Valentines just gone and wow. The ambience was warm and inviting and our waiter Florin was brilliant and very attentive, cracked a joke here and there. He took our starters and main at the same time. We waited for our starter for almost 40/50 minuets and had many apologies due to it being very busy. Florine knocked off our wine and cocktail from the bill due to this. How lovely. We didn’t mind the wait and when the starter came it was worth it. Our mains were to die for and last but no means least a free lemon cello shot before we left! Absolutely one of the best meals we have had in many years. We will be back!

Long time not here. Ordered my usual double ribs starter and cheese garlic bread as a main. Grand but the BBQ "sauce" portion management team must have been working tonight 🤣🤣. In all seriousness, not the cheapest, but you pay for what you get. One of the best meals we've had in quite a while

I have been a regular customer of this restaurant for the past year and a half, and overall, I think their kitchen is excellent. Their food is so good that it even makes up for the uncomfortable acoustics of the place. The service staff are young and always polite. However, today’s experience was extremely disappointing. Everything was going well until I asked for the bill and requested to pay for the alcohol separately. The bill then came with both food and alcohol together. I pointed out that there was a mistake and asked for a separate bill for the food because I would need to get it reimbursed by my company. The woman at the till, showing clear displeasure, first snapped at the waiter, and when I explained that I needed the food receipt separately for reimbursement, she made me wait with a sour expression while she served another customer. When I finally paid for the food, she sarcastically commented, “There you go, everything is exactly as you wanted; now you can get it reimbursed,” and continued with her condescending remarks. I am 40 years old, and this is the first time in my life I have encountered such rude staff at a restaurant. This is now a place I never want to visit again. You should not allow staff to take out their frustration on customers who come to relax. A huge disappointment.

We arrived and were shown to our table. Ten minutes later, the drinks order was taken. Those drinks took a little break of their own, sitting proudly on the bar for another ten. I did consider going to get them myself, but thought it wouldn’t be too long until they took our food order. The food order wasn’t taken until we’d been sat for 35 minutes. At 7pm, someone decided the vibe needed to switch from mildly neglected dinner to Fri night rave. Which, though perhaps expected for a Fri night in a bar, considering we had only ordered mains, we’d expected to be in and out in 45 minutes to an hour, not to join the party. No one came to check if we wanted more drinks. No dessert was offered after I stacked our empty plates. No plate clearing was attempted. We had waited 15 minutes after finishing our food to see if someone might acknowledge our existence. But eventually, we gave up, I paid at the bar, and treated ourselves to a McFlurry down the road. To be fair, the food was enjoyable. But the overall experience made us feel more like an inconvenience than guests. It seems to be a nice spot for drinks, especially outside, which looked lively. Perhaps that was the priority that evening, not the five tables of two that were sat in our area of the bar.

Always an amazing experience to dine in/ takeout at Harvey’s. Food is consistently amazing quality and fresh. The restaurant itself is nice to dine in both inside and out and is very clean. Will always choose to come back, my favourite place to dine in Huddersfield. Only slight negative would be that parking is limited making it harder for assess especially if you are blue badge owner.

Lovely staff that were very welcoming. Stopped off here for a late lunch and ordered some food off the main menu. The French burger was tasty, the 3 pigs pizza was very nice but the beef hanging kebab was a little overcooked and dry. All food was eaten and we enjoyed our brief stop.

Stopped for lunch as we passed by. Really nice pub/restaurant with a really lovely fit out. Outside seating was a bit on the edge of a busy road. But still nice enough. Lovely restaurant in a beautiful village and beautiful views if you take a short walk after your meal. The staff were friendly and the vibe was welcoming. The food was very tasty but all three of us felt the main dish portions were small (i only got 17 chips) On the positive side that left us plenty of room for desert which was excellent. If you like to have starters, main and a desert then the portions are probably fine and they won’t be wasting food. However we hadn’t been before and went straight for the main and compared with other places it wasn’t enough. Certainly a nice place to go again and try another dish from their menu

Visited The Golden Cock over the weekend and had a wonderful time. The service was excellent, we were made to feel very welcome and were shown to our table straight away. All in all we had a lovely afternoon and will definitely be returning.

Decided at 1200 that we would eat there at 1300 and successfully followed the online booking process. This was our first visit. Wow what a lovely place. Nice menu. Karen had the steak sandwich, I had the beetroot falafel wrap which was exceedingly tasty ! The skin on fries were perfect with both dishes. Vanilla ice cream to finish, along with a really nice cuppa tea. It was a very quiet Monday lunchtime so the car park was empty, but anyway, there's quite a lot of space out there. So, on the whole, a very pleasant experience. We'll be back.

Gringo's Mexican Smokehouse is a vibrant culinary gem that beautifully marries traditional Mexican flavors with innovative smokehouse techniques, inspired by the chef’s experiences in Mexico, Los Angeles, and Australia. This inviting eatery beckons you back time after time with its mouthwatering menu featuring classic dishes like fajitas, nachos, quesadillas, burritos, enchiladas, and chimichangas.
Walked in on a whim on a Saturday night, luckily they had a table for 2 to spare. We ordered a cocktail and the halloumi nachos to share. The nachos were absolutely incredible perfect combo of hot, crunchy tortilla chips with flavourful salsa and melty cheese, spicy and delicious and absolutely huge portion too! My partner had ribs and I ordered the king prawn quesadilla. All the food was so delicious, hot flavourful perfection. I've been recommending this place to anyone who'll listen since our visit.

Found this gem in Huddersfield for lunch after taking the children swimming at Huddersfield Leisure Centre. The food was very tasty and decent portion sizes too with a good selection of vegetarian options too. The service was good and friendly. I ordered the Smokehouse Pulled Sandwich & Ribs, which were amazing. The meat just came off the bone and sauce was amazing! As I don’t eat halal, I was restricted to certain dishes as the Chicken & Lamb were halal so a bit disappointed that I couldn’t try the wings and lamb dishes. Our bill came to just over £63 for 4 adults and 2 children. Would we go back? Oh yes and I hope they could also serve non-halal chicken and lamb so I can try the other dishes!

Food is lovely and very generous...! The service is friendly but it did take a while for food to arrive, would have been 5 stars if not for the waiting. I thought I'd have enough with 1.5 hours in the car park, but I had to go and move the car as we hadn't finished due to the wait, there were a few people in but it wasn't overly busy. Will absolutely return and be prepared for a relaxed feel instead of being rushed 😊😊

Oh my goodness… went here last week whilst visiting the area and the food was absolutely phenomenal!! I’m hungry again just writing this review! I had the chicken nachos to start, they were amazing! We all had some kind of nachos. Didn’t get a photo of my enchiladas as I ate them too quickly. One of my colleagues got the burrito (see photo) … honestly this was just incredible! Absolutely the best Mexican by a Latin mile. Amazing service. Even though we didn’t have prior booking, they accommodated us and as soon as they had a better seating, they themselves moved us, without even asking. The food was gorgeous and the portions are so generous that we couldn’t finish and they, very politely, suggested to pack and take it home. Absolutely spot on

Staff are grate and knowledgeable, friendly and helpful the menu and drinks are delicious I recommend the swine frys, and a realise the craken 😄 The price is just right, and the portions will NOY leave you hungry, As for the taste, well if its succulent moist meat, with some of the best chips and just the right amount of spice your after then you need to go . I keep going back I my GF and daughter love this place, And can't wait for my next meal from there Its clean invitating and has a very unique decorative look. "The Hare And Hounds" is a charming rustic inn in Grasmere, offering a relaxed atmosphere and serving local real ales and freshly cooked pub food. The establishment provides a picturesque view of 500 acres of rolling countryside. With its wooden frame furniture and pastel paints, it exudes a vintage charm. The menu features wholesome and good-value dishes, such as the pie of the day with attentive service from staff like Karen.
I attended on 21/07/25 for my daughter’s birthday lunch. We arrived early for our booking and were met with a friendly warm welcome, we were able to sit outside and enjoy the weather and views. Upon ordering the staff were attentive and friendly. The food was absolutely amazing and included fresh produce, even down to the fresh mint served with my chocolate dessert. The atmosphere was excellent and between courses it was good to be able to move around and go outside and it was not rushed at all. It was noticed on arrival that it was my daughters birthday (she was wearing a birthday badge) and was wished happy birthday, when it came to ordering dessert they went out of their way (unbeknown to us) and made her a dessert delivered on a board with birthday greetings, this was so thoughtful and nice. Would like to say a big thank you to the staff team on duty for such a lovely experience and to the chef for the excellent food and presentation. This is one place I will highly recommend and will be visiting again.

We enjoyed our meal: large portions: good choice on the menu and excellent, friendly service. The Taylor's Landlord wasn't in good condition and there was a poor choice of Rosé wines, but it would be churlish not to give 5 stars.

Now this is a first I walked past this place on numerous occasions I have looked in on passing but today I thought with my pal we would try something different a bit of Spanish style food.On the outside the building looks very architectural plus on the inside a very good feel to it has we were greeted by a lovely lady who welcomed us explained about the menu plus explained about the live music on a Saturday night plus the wine tasting cheese boards that they do at the end of every month on the last Saturday which basically if you are a wine lover you will definitely be in for a great deal by the way but on my first visit the food was very tasty just about right portion for two of us finished off by a dessert which they have plenty of choice plus first impressions absolutely delicious.

It's a nice place snd the food is lovely, but it can be very noisy. I think it was about £3.50 for a little bottle of Schweppes tonic water. I usually have it from a dispenser if I'm not drinking alcohol, which is usually free or almost free, so that was a surprise. Apart from that though, everything was lovely.

Lovely authentic food. Pleasant staff. The only issue was we were the only ones in there, it was late afternoon to be fair.

Restaurant
Home on Lindley, situated in the heart of Lindley, Huddersfield, is a lively restaurant renowned for its delectable British tapas. The menu offers a diverse selection including slow-cooked Moroccan lamb, tandoori fish, and eight-hour braised ox-cheek. With rotating seasonal menus, there is an extensive range of options to choose from. Despite the challenges faced by the hospitality industry, Home on Lindley continues to innovate and provide exceptional dining experiences.
I’ve been here a few times as I live locally. Fantastic spot. Most recently dined on a Friday night with my girlfriend. Service was very good considering a very busy atmosphere. The food is fantastic, a wide variety including vegetarian and GF. I am a big fan of the small plate sizes and feel that 5/6 is perfect for 2 people. You also don’t feel like you’re missing out as you can try bits of everything. Personal favourite is always the pork belly here, definitely recommend! Not my first time here and definitely not the last. Thanks

What a lovely vibe at Home. Reserved a table on a Tuesday at 6.30pm. Asked to move upstairs and were accommodated. Lots of choice and a great specials board. Attentive service throughout. Special shout out to Georgia who couldn't do enough for us. The food was so flavoursome. We ordered padron peppers, honey and sesame chicken, sweet chilli crispy beef, belly pork (divine!) and a spicy marg to finish the evening. Definite value for money. Cannot recommend highly enough x

We went as a family. The food was amazing. The service was incredible. The young man with dark hair was brilliant with our 9 year old son. Very entertaining.. the atmosphere was relaxing. We would highly recommend for a family meal. We had the early bird offer. Only downside was that it wasn't explained to us so we ordered selections that weren't included and only found out when paying the bill. But since the food was amazing I was happy to pay.

A group of six visited a few weeks ago, two issues we have. The menu says three dishes for £28, we went to order it and was told we all have to have the same thing, I said it does not say that on the website, I was told again they a all have to be the same. So a single diner can order what they want but any more diners need to order the same?. Get it on the website/menu so it's clear to guests. Service was very poor, when dishes came they were thrown on the table, when we asked for the bill, again, t was thrown on the table. We spent over £200 and were left disappointed, we won't be rushing back.

As a large family group we ate at Home and the food was in our opinion exceptionally poor. Food appeared to have been reheated often burnt on the outside and cold on the inside. If you are vegan or vegetarian this is not a good option for you. We advised the staff about the food quality and they were apologetic. We paid in full but will never go again. Very disappointed.

100% worth a trip. The food was outstanding, the atmosphere for a Sunday afternoon was cheerful and lively. The venue itself is also stunning inside. The standout dish for me was the cauliflower buffalo wings. I didn't expect to like them so much. The tuna was also incredible, I would highly recommend it and the paprika fish had such a good flavour. For deserts I can highly recommend the panna cotta and the key lime pie. I doubt there is a dish on the menu that would be a let down. The chefs know their food.
Katrina C — Google review
The staff were lovely, the food was lovely (Although the recommendation of 3 tapas per person was a bit much for us) maybe a little more flatbreads to dip in the delicious sauces. Still highly recommend for a great evening.

Great food and drinks. Really good portion sizes. Everything was tasty and cooked to perfection. Great service although we had to look for attention a couple of times when ordering drinks, but didn't take long once ordered. Fantastic desserts too.

Pub
Nestled conveniently around the corner, Beaumont Arms is a delightful pub that offers a warm and inviting atmosphere. With its charming surroundings and ample outdoor seating, it transforms into a sun-soaked haven during the summer months. The menu boasts an array of delicious options, including homemade pies brimming with meat and rich gravy, complemented by fresh chips and vegetables—definitely not your average pub fare!
Came here for the santa experience and it did not disappoint the grotto was so magical the kids loved it. The food to follow was rely good to for the price and came out in good time to say there was a big group of us.

Visited the Beaumont Arms for the first time to eat Friday night, great bustling atmosphere. Despite the chilly weather quite a few people were taking advantage of the nice outdoor setting with drinks and food from the smoker. We had seen a new menu had been launched, with lots of choice for all tastes including veggie and vegan dishes on offer. We chose the new sharing slates of meats prepared on the smoker! It didn’t disappoint, with lots of different items including brisket, chicken and pork, jalapeño sausage, even mac n cheese ball, chips and small chilli bowl! We shared 2 boards between 5 people and didn’t manage to finish it all! Excellent quality and value for money, can’t wait to return and try the pub menu!

We only really had light bites, which were nice. The staff were really welcoming and friendly and this pub just has a really nice vibe. We'll definitely be coming back here and I really recommend it as a place to meet friends for a drink and a chat. The music isn't too loud so you can hear each other without shouting and they also have an amazing selection of gins, which I really enjoyed.
Laura C — Google review
We had a lovely meal at the pub, the food was great, all the staff were really friendly and helpful. One of our grandchildren is disabled and there was no problem getting his wheelchair in, which is such a plus for use as you would not believe the problems we have to face in most places we visit. Good luck with your new venture ( to the gentleman who has just taken over). We will recommend you to friends.

Used their small function room for a school reunion. It was very hot, so they moved some of the large outdoor umbrellas close together so we could use the outside area as it was raining on and off. Excellent service and friendly staff. Food was also excellent and quickly served. Highly recommend

Came for food, all I can say is wow, had pie chips and veg, it was beautiful, the pie was home made and full of meat and potato, and to the brim with tasty gravy, beautiful home made chips and fresh veg, not frozen FRESH, the food was hot, and it even came with a jug of thick gravy. 10 out of 10, would defo come again There were few regulars in who were extremely friendly, the lady behind the bar was extremely polite, and great at her job. Keep up the great work

Abi D — Google review
The pub has gone downhill since the ownership change. There are a number of issues that still remain after a few recent visits: 1. Service The service has been poor the last few visits, but particularly poor on Sunday. We waited around 30 minutes for our order to be taken. This was only after I went up to the bar and asked. The girl behind the bar then came to the table herself. After an hour after ordering we had finished the Sunday dinner. Not once were we asked if the meal was okay or if we would like another drink. Another 30 minutes followed where our plates were left on the table and we were not asked about deserts or drinks. After about two hours since we arrived we got up and paid for the food at the bar ourselves. It is worth noting that this was not a busy time at all. By about 5pm we were the only food table left seated. 2. Staff Short staff? There were only two people behind the bar and one waitress visibly working. This was prime time on a Sunday afternoon, which you would think would be when the service is at its best. The three staff where also young and inexperienced. I am all for giving young bar staff and waitress a chance, but they need more guidance or to be working alongside an experienced member to help them out. 3. Food and drink The Sunday lunch is definitely nowhere near as good as it was. The chicken is no longer on the bone and not as good quality. The overall taste is not as good as it was. The gravy used to be very nice, but this recipe has been changed unfortunately for the worse. My partner had an orange and lemonade, but the orange juice used was the last bit in the carton, which tasted like it had gone off. Again, just a lack of experience behind the bar not checking this. 4. Wi-Fi and ordering. The QR codes to order drinks and food to your table still does not work. These QR codes have remained on the tables since the new ownership, but the system seems to be constantly down. Why the are these QR codes still on the tables if they take you to the page, but then don't work? The system has been down the last three times I have been there, just take them off the tables! The first time I went, we sat outside and proceeded to order off the QR code, went through the order and proceeded to pay. After 30/40 minutes I went to the bar to check the order had gone through only to be told that the system isn't working and I had to contact the bank to cancel the payment. The Wi-Fi was also down on Sunday, with no tv on and no phone signal. Not great when you just want to quickly check an email, see the cricket score or show family photos on your phone which are stored on the cloud. This was never an issue under previous ownership, the ordering system worked brilliantly. 5. Booking Table When booking online you can add a note for any requests. We added that we would like a table that had a bit of space alongside for a pram. This was not followed. Luckily the table next to us finished shortly after we arrived so we could use the space around this table. Overall I am very disappointed with how the pub is turning out and hope that there is a real improvement. We have been going down for Sunday lunch for the last 3/4 years with it being in walking distance from us. I have no allegiance to the previous ownership and didn't have a relationship with them at all, but the difference in quality since the change is there for all to see.

If you're a student juggling classes and social life, finding time to cook can be a challenge. That's where Imran Indian Takeaway comes in as the perfect solution for those craving delicious meals without the wait. This popular spot offers an array of options, catering to vegan, vegetarian, and halal preferences alike. The vibrant flavors and colorful dishes make every meal feel special while being incredibly convenient.
Don't really buy curry because my wife's cooking is the best. However she wanted to try it. So we bought the chicken and mixed vegetable curry. I was pleasantly surprised by the vegetarian curry. Best I've had in a while. Would definitely go back for the vegetarian curry. Chicken wasn't to bad either.
PAC M — Google review
Service was fine. The curries didn't have huge amounts of meat in, but they aren't as expensive as elsewhere so that's fair enough. The let down for us was the bright food colouring in the food. What is the point of that? Maybe the locals think it tastes proper when it's luminous red

After hearing about imrans I decided to give it a try on my daughter’s birthday. Very impressed with the quality of the food. Can tell straight away all ingredients are fresh. My go to curry is a chicken tikkah masalah and I absolutely loved it from here. Will definitely be coming back. Highly recommended. Thank you

Imrans is a busy takeaway, and I can see why, the food was really good. I loved that the layout is open plan so you can see the staff working. Imrans is one of the best takeaways if visited in a long while.

Best curry around for miles. Always got time for every customer on a personal level and always service with a smile at a competetive and fair price. I would 100% recommend the Chicken Saag Balti, onion bahjis and chapatis. To be honest its all top notch but these are my personal favourites!
ALEX R — Google review
Heard great things about this place so had to try it , they do a creamy rogan josh that sounded like one paddock bismilah did before it closed so I ordered that and a mixed karai both were delicious and expertly spiced the meat samosas are good as is the chicken and lamb tikka one minor issue was the onion bhaji was a little dry but the rest more than made up for it. For me believe the hype you will not be disappointed, great staff and atmosphere make sure you order early as they are super busy

Primo is a charming restaurant that offers delicious food and great service. The quality of the steak and how it was cooked surpassed that of an expensive steak restaurant. The Deep Fried Mozzarella starter was served with a lovely tomato, garlic, and herb sauce, while the Lasagna with a side salad was described as very tasty. The staff were attentive and friendly without being overbearing. Despite its unassuming exterior, the restaurant exceeded expectations in terms of both price and portion size.
Very enjoyable, great food and supreme affordable. We arrived un planned and were seated quickly, the place was buzzing, with lots of customers but plenty of space. The food was brilliant and I was nicely surprised by the bill at the end.

Didn't feel an Italian warmness whilst dining here. Our order was mistaken twice and we were the only customers there. We do understand people are learning but it was only my husband and myself to take order from. The waitress are watching you , very uncomfortable. Food was really good, tasty, proper Italian. Pizza was delicious, would recommend food but service was disappointing. If I were live closer maybe I'd come back for a brilliant pizza but it's not worth to drive more than half an hour for an cold ambience. Not very Italian

Chilli Lounge is a contemporary Indian restaurant located in the heart of Huddersfield town center. The restaurant offers delicious Indian cuisine with the option for takeaway. It is highly recommended for special occasions, offering a pleasant and comfortable environment with friendly and accommodating staff. The menu features a wide variety of dishes cooked to perfection, such as the giant garlic naan served on a spike and flavorful curries with distinct combinations of spices.
First visit in a few years, food and service was great and I can definitely recommend, the starter was to die for. Chilli Lounge no longer has an alcohol licence, but you can bring your own.

Delicious Indian food in the heart of Huddersfield town centre. Highly recommend giving Chilli Lounge a try, the smells that erupt from their kitchen are out of this world delicious. Perfect spot for special occasions with loved ones to enjoy delicious food that is guaranteed to please all. A four seat table next to the fish tank looks like the best seats in the house. I especially loved the giant garlic naan served on a spike, but everything I’ve tried here has been very delicious indeed. Staff are very friendly and incredibly accommodating

The best place with the best people! Me and my partner Zac often frequent this restaurant, the food is phenomenal, the staff are amazing. I use to order take out when I lived in Huddersfield and it was sooo good, when I told my partner about it and we decided to go as we usually go out once a week for date night He literally fell in love with the place and we often joke that he loves chilli lounge more than me haha They have lots of different options which my partner loves to try (he gets something different every time we go) and he says he’s never had a bad dish. (This restaurants has won awards in the past) The staff are very patient with Zac as he takes a little while to order and asks lots of questions, they always accommodate his requests as he often asks to mix dishes and try new things that isn’t on the menu Food is honestly amazing that we no longer go to any other curry house but this one! Portion size is great and we often take home left overs (Great prices too) The staff are honestly amazing, they truly deserve all their customers. They take their time talking to you and getting to know you even if they’re busy, they make us feel so welcome every time we go, we recently had a baby who cries a lot and they often come over and help me as a new mum. I don’t feel anxious or nervous about him crying because they honestly just want to make sure we are happy and okay. I can honestly say they are a genuine family running a spotless restaurant with a passion for their food and customers, they are really good people to the point where I believe if I walked in and said me and my baby are hungry and have no money they would still sit us down and look after us, so if you are unsure about going just go it’s a good experience every time and you won’t regret it!

Been to this restaurant for many years. Our friends are regulars who live in Huddersfield so we automatically look forward to eating here. Food is always fresh, delicious and tasty. The staff are polite and very friendly. 'Beer is always cold' and makes the evening as a lot of Indian restaurants have stopped selling alcohol.

We visited these guys on Saturday evening. They were welcoming and friendly. The food was bang on, 10 out of 10. Fantastic meals enjoyed by all 6 of us. They don't have an alcohol license but told us where to go grab some beers... then helped us clean up the mess after all beers turned out to be very shaken up. Lovely guys, lovely place. Spot on!! Even charged my buddies phone so he could use his train ticket to get us back to Leeds than Harrogate. Definitely recommend it 100%

Herd from my ex. She had a Christmas do there. Said it was delicious. I've ordered maybe 5 times. Every time the quality consistency is at a high level. The food has been very good. So many different great combinations of spices cooked amazingly. You can actually tell what curry you are eating. The colours. The smell. The taste. Tonight I had chicken jalfrezi and chicken dopiaza with fried rice with peas and 3 chappittis. It was so nice. On time, hot, and absolutely amazing. Restaurant take away. Really impressed. I highly recommend. It's a little on the steep side price wise. But worth it. Downsides! This is for me personally. There's some kind of sharp pungent zingy fruit in a curry. It's not nice when you get a mouthful. Lol Next wow. The chilli I got tonight. It looked nice on top.couldn't really put a colour to it, except multi coloured. I had a little bite and had hic humps big time. Only once this has happened before in Cyprus. Be aware of those chillies. Great restaurant. Great takeaway/delivery service. Great food. Highly recommend!!!!!

Well it sucks when you go to restaurant when its about to close. But they still took us in and served food nicely. I loved their Momos and Gurakha special fries. I also ordered Roti and Daal. It is bit pricey for me but I would say if you are just looking for some taste from India and eat full stomach then this is for you. Again we were the only person in whole room when went there it was gonna close in 45 min. I believe its not restaurants fault its more of the Huddersfield Town itself which has dull Vibe.

Food and service was fantastic, it's a lovely little place that I would absolutely return to. Only marked the atmosphere down as there were some incredibly loud tables of drinkers within the dining area that spoiled it for us, however it was around 8pm on a Friday night at that point to be fair so in future I would make sure to leave earlier before the bar element of the place comes in and would recommend anyone wanting a nice chilled dining experience to go earlier too, as it's quite a small place so when things get raucous it really has an impact. Of course this is outside the restaurants control but just something to be mindful of, still totally recommend it and we really enjoyed all the dishes we tried. Thank you!

Food was ok but not the best tapas I have had. The ham sharing platter was very poor. The turkey meat balls were very dense and hard to eat and they did some pigs in blankets (not very spanish) and the sausages were very poor. The restaurant was cold when we sat to eat our meal which was not good. We had to keep our coats on for most of the evening.

Nestled within the picturesque grounds of Hinchliffes Farm, known as Britain's oldest farm shop, The Rusty Bull is a delightful café and bistro that celebrates the finest local produce from Huddersfield. This charming eatery offers a diverse menu ranging from hearty traditional English breakfasts to delectable lunch options and an elegant evening selection featuring premium British meats and fresh fish.
Came here on a whim for breakfast/brunch. Service was excellent especially with our toddler, got her a high chair etc. Food was well seasoned and tasted great. The full breakfast was a decent portion without feeling "stuffed" after. Will be back to try to the lunch menu at some point. Music in the background was chilled and not overpowering and there was no clattering of kitchen noise etc like some brunch places have.

Eating outside on the terrace. This place came recommended to us. First time visiting as just passing through the area. Great initial first greeting. But service wasn’t great. We’ve had 3 different servers. Repeated ourselves a few times as those guys aren’t communicating between them and it’s 15+ mins since we ordered our desserts now. The place is half full outside. Not busy. Expected better. Maybe it was an off day.

Nestled in the heart of a charming village, Savaro Restaurant offers an authentic taste of the Levant paired with exquisite wines from Lebanon's Beqa'a Valley. This delightful eatery has quickly become a favorite for those seeking genuine Mediterranean cuisine. The warm and inviting atmosphere is complemented by the friendly owner, who goes above and beyond to ensure guests feel at home.
This restaurant is truly outstanding and has quickly become one of my favourite spots for authentic Mediterranean food. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the owner is incredibly friendly and attentive – they really make you feel at home. We started with some delicious starters, full of flavour and so fresh that we instantly knew the rest of the meal would be just as good. The main plate was absolutely amazing – perfectly cooked, juicy, and full of flavour. To finish, we had desserts with tea, which ended the evening beautifully. The whole experience, from the service to the food, was fantastic. Whether it’s for lunch, dinner, or a special evening out, this place is a must-visit. I’m so glad to have discovered another amazing Mediterranean restaurant and will definitely be coming back often.

Visited Honley from Canada and were amazed to find such a great Lebanese restaurant in such a small community. Food was outstanding, great flavours. the service was excellent as well, the young fellow was helpful in describing the dishes and looked after us. thank you Savaro, we'll stop in next time we are in the country.

Great restaurant that many people miss. Nicely Mediterranean spiced offerings, lovely buttery rice and nice moist chicken shawarma. Lamb kebabs were delicious and the starter mezza gave some nice tastes to get us going. Only three stars for atmosphere but only because we went on a Thursday. Go on a Friday or Saturday and it would be busier and more atmospheric. Thanks for a memorable dinner, we will be back

This restaurant was absolutely amazing and definitely is one of my favourite Lebanese restaurants. The owner was super welcoming, friendly and even stayed open late for us so we could enjoy the excellent delicious food we had. The place is a great place for lunch or dinner and a great place for a special evening or just in general dining. Forty starters we had hummus and and marina both of which were great so we knew from that point forward the mains would be too.My favourite dish has to be the mix mashawi so much flavour, succulent and juicy. We also had the chicken shawarma but for me it was a bit bland but my mate really enjoyed but we much preferred the mix grill. The desserts and tea ended the meal perfectly. We are extremely happy with the service and the whole place altogether and so glad we have another great Lebanese place in huddersfield. Definitely be visiting more often.

If you're in Huddersfield and craving a taste of the Mediterranean, look no further than UGARIT CUISINE SHISHA. This charming restaurant and hookah bar offers an enticing array of Egyptian, Greek, and Lebanese dishes that are sure to delight your palate. From mouthwatering shawarma to flavorful falafel and kebbeh shameh, the menu is packed with authentic options that showcase the richness of these cuisines.
Lovely food and friendly service. Portions are large and you definitely won't leave hungry! Plenty of meat options, but also clearly labelled vegetarian dishes and everything comes with salad so it's not too heavy. Well worth a visit, a nice alternative to the chain options in the Town Centre.

If I could I would give 0 stars. Extremely disrespectful staff for a whole £15 which mentions a mix grill platter on the menu they didn’t give any platter or a proper mix grill they only gave one plate which was full of salad a few odd chips some rice and a very small portion of the chicken that couldn’t even feed one person let alone as a mix grill for two people. The burger was cold after waiting 45 minutes for the food so I asked them to reheat which they did but were rude and calling after me whilst I’m walking to the table. Would not recommend the shwarma burger at all the shwarma wrap was okay but too bland and plain no spices or taste involved at all. At that point I just wanted to eat my food I was really hungry after the long wait yet one arrogant small minded waiter came by to pick a fight with me when it wasn’t even my own food I sent to get warmed as had come with friends and didn’t want anyone to eat cold food. Anyways he came to our table specifically to pick a fight with me and ruin our food more than it was already. Absolutely disrespectful waiters not a restaurant in any terms downright sexist men attacking on us ladies that were on our own and think they get away with disrespecting women since there was no man with us. I don’t know if they were Muslim but if so then astagfirullah as we are Muslim too but know respect when it is shown and this was absolutely disgusting there’s no words that can explain how they made me feel. These words do not sum up how much anxiety and how much those stupid men disheartened me and tried to fight me for no reason when it was their own fault. The food was raw if you go then go at your own accord because the raw chicken will make you ill. Absolutely disgusted appalled and for the first time in my life it will be my first time and last time at a soo called restaurant but more of a takeaway.
Bisma T — Google review
Amazing deals on at the moment with no compromise on quality of food. Shawarma and rice was delicious, flafel wrap was yum too slight criticism would be the temperature of food. Freshly squeezed orange juice and lemon juice very refreshing would be delicious with some ice in it

A pleasant dining experience. Lovely interior and was kept clean and covid safe. Ordered a variety of different items on the menu and was very well priced. The tawouks were very nice and portion size was good for 2 people, the rice was fluffy and not greasy like other places. When you order a portion of chips, you actually get a good sized portion of chips! The meat was a little tough (shish tawouk) to bite into but the chicken was cooked and spiced perfectly. The starter meatballs were nice but lacked spice, they had a separate chilli sauce, just drizzle that on and it tasted good. Overall nice experience, would recommend to anyone it's something different. Parking is on the main road, £2 for 1 HR 30mins.

Whenever I am in Huddersfield centre, I definitely visit this gem of a place. The owner Ghassan is so welcoming and ensures everything is perfect. I’ve had a couple of work related lunches here that went down really well with my colleagues. Reasonably priced and good portion sizes. Definitely recommend!

I’m a frequent customer here. I was hooked from the get go. I absolutely love the vibe of the Ugarit, the arabic music adds to the authenticity of the food and the whole experience. The staff is friendly and the restaurant will really give your moneys worth. Highly recommend heading down and enjoying some of their food. Food - 8/10 (hummus must buy) Ambiance- 7/10 Service - 7/10 Price - ££ (on the cheaper spectrum)

All foods comparatively 20-30% less priced compared to the Turkish restaurants in Nottingham and Derby. But the taste is not that great. Quantity was poor. Awesome interiors.

The first time here has been recommended. So we gave it a go. Looked at the place before setting off as it would be dark before we arrived. I'm glad we did as the rear parking can be easily missed. The restaurant layout was great. We loved the decoration and seating. We ordered two starters and two mains, plus rice, chips, and a garlic nan.

I cannot fault this place! Its stunning, classy, comfortable and the food and management are exceptional. I planned a surprise 50th meal for one of my best friends & her Son & Daughter and the manager/assistant manager were absolutely brilliant. They were so welcoming, friendly, really pleasant and nothing was too much trouble. They even brought out a cake for her and sang happy birthday. They went over & above & she had a really special evening. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anybody as it is a proper hidden gem in Almondbury. Thank you so much to all the staff at Bengal Aroma. You really are amazing, your restaurant is fabulous & your food & service is second to none! Just perfect!

As a big Indian food lover, I don't agree with the high rating. Portions are very small, prices are high and this place is cold when it's cold. The food is good, but not brilliant. Strange layout as well and no sense of privacy. The waiter's are polite, but it seems a bit phony to sit with the high costs. Even as a byo it's still more expensive than most.

Crap in all respects. If I could give this place a negative score I would. OK anonymous owner you want constructive criticism? Up your food game. Don't try to pass off stale white bread as sourdough. Serve water chilled or with ice on a hot day. Ditch the plastic plants and do not try to engage in witty repartee with patrons, an activity for which you are clearly not suited. Want to see what a well run venue looks like? Go to Devour.

I am checking out dog friendly locations - "I had to eat this in the name of research" for Poppy and Coco 🤣😂🤣 I have been wanting to visit for ages, today was the day. I was greeted with a warm smile from all staff I encountered. I had looked at the menu online, but on arrival spotted the "today's Sunday brunch special" it certainly was special - it was DELICIOUS. I had two coffee's and stayed around 2 hours reading, everyone was happy to leave me to it, just checking in occasionally without me feeling I was taking up a table. I kept an eye on others food and everything looked amazing, full English was huge, and pancakes (3 per portion) came with jam and syrup on the side - which I prefer as sometimes they can have too much syrup. A great spot - will definately be back - need to try those pancakes 😋😋😋

Rob P — Google review
Have been here a couple of times, before and after town games. Great drinking pub with an amazing aray of craft, cask and bottled beers. Last went with my daughter on Tuesday after a depressing defeat against Blackpool. Oktoberfest had started so there was a great range of german beers on offer. I started with a weissebeer Dunkeld, which was delicacies, followed by the Rothaus Pils. Couldn't believe I could get it in Huddersfield. I used to travel to Karlsruhe and the black forest and had it many times there. I then had the Ayinger Kellerbier, which was also nice. However, I saved the best until last. Abinger Celebrator. A dark, rich and intense brew which was both delicious and moreish. I don't usually drink beers over 5.5%, so this was risky, but it paid off! Well worth a visit. It's always busy with great beers, great atmosphere and a really cosy drinkers pub! I didn't eat and wasn't aware of food options, but I wasn't looking to anyway. A must visit pub if in Huddersfield!

I came here to try their coffee because it’s a pretty popular spot, but unfortunately, my experience wasn’t great. I specifically asked for my flat white to be extra hot, but it was barely warm. My friend didn’t enjoy the hot chocolate either. On top of that, my cup wasn’t clean ,,there were stains on the bottom,, and the table we sat at still had crumbs from previous customers. The only positive thing was the friendly staff, they were kind. Overall, if they paid more attention to cleanliness and customer requests, it could be a much better place. But sadly, it was messy enough that I wouldn’t want to come back.

Drove all the way into town in search of a proper coffee and did not disapoint.

Coffee Revolution review: A really cosy, intimate space that’s perfect for writing or just relaxing. We ordered two hot chocolates which came with complimentary whipped cream, marshmallows and chocolate dusting and two sandwiches. Sandwiches were filling so you got your moneys worth. You’re asked what kind of bread you’d like, and can get recommendations from staff too. It’s table service so you can relax in the space whilst your food is being made. Because of the reasons mentioned, the space is very popular with yummy mummy’s, students and people that want somewhere to work so be fast if you want to get a table. The setting had a nice, rustic and relaxed feel. Down stairs was little draughty, wish there was a little heater. We had a lot of time before our train and this was a cute place to stop off, would visit again. We were warmly surprised! - H💝

One of the best venues going for me. Food is always good, good selection of beers and as a musician they have allowed my bands over the years a space to play. Regardless of our smaller social media following they've been there for me and my band mates and are incredibly generous and welcoming to the bands no matter the status and always have been. Chinese restaurant
Nestled in the heart of Huddersfield, Rivers restaurant is a delightful haven for food lovers seeking hearty meals and warm hospitality. This charming eatery invites you on a culinary adventure where each dish is thoughtfully prepared to create an exquisite blend of flavors. The chefs at Rivers take pride in using top-notch ingredients, ensuring that every bite is a treat for your taste buds.
On a business trip, I was trying to find a steakhouse but could not find one in the town centre. I came across this Chinese restaurant; it was quiet as it was a Monday evening. The food was quite authentic, a pleasant surprise. The ingredients were fresh, the environment cozy, the staff friendly, and the background music was a nice touch. It was a nice evening.
Tim Y — Google review
This was our first experience in a Chinese restaurant and it was alright. As we weren't familiar with the menu, we decided to go for set dinner for 2 (see photos attached for both the menu and photo of food). It has started with a soup that though was tasty, it felt a bit too fat for what we are used to. While we were eating it, we got ribs brought in which cam with really tasty sauce. The ribs were normal but the sauce (as well as sauces with other food) was really tasty. For the main we had egg fried rice with selection of chicken, beef and pork. The rice was really tasty and the meats went well with it but both beef and pork were a bit fattier than we prefer. At the end we had Chinese tea which I believe was some sort of white tea. We have also ordered wine which was fairly good. In summary, if you know what you would like to eat, you shouldn't be dissapoointed but I wouldn't recommend coming in blind.
Mateusz M — Google review
We come to Rivers regularly and have never been disappointed. The service is great and the food is amazing. Regardless of what we order its always good quality and a good portion, seasoned well and very satisfying. Today we had chicken in plum and chilli sauce, as well as beef flank soup with rice noodles. The menu is large enough that anyone will find something that suits them. Come on an empty stomach as you will definitely leave full.
Lucy W — Google review
The best sit-down Chinese I've been to. Consistently good food and the owner is lovely. Price is very very reasonable for the amount of food you get. I drive 40 mins to get here! The chilli beef from the traditional menu is amazing. Pros: • Choose your own seat and items from the menu on a notepad - can't be wrong then! • The owner is friendly and so are the staff • All of the food we've had so far has been amazing. Large, very generous portions and steaming hot. Consistently good taste. • Always a place to sit and can accommodate slightly larger groups too. (Maybe let them know in advance?) • Food comes relatively fast as it's usually fairly quiet, but even when at peak times it's still comes quickly Cons: • Parking is a tiny bit awkward if you come from elsewhere but there are a few pay and display ones around. • Not really a con but always fairly quiet, sometimes we are the only ones there.

Nice restaurant, delicious food, lovely staff. My boyfriend loved the food here and the ordering is very easy as well. The price is alright too. My soup was a bit too spicy and too sour for my taste but otherwise was fresh and tastes authentic.

Delicious meal and they were easily able to accommodate my partner's food intolerance. Portion sizes are very generous and the non-westernised menu is very diverse with loads of things we'd never tried before.

I'm flabbergasted! Just had a meal at Rivers in HuddersfieldTown centre, great until I queried an item on the bill. I'm in my mid 60's born in England, but with a black skin. It's been a long time since I was racially abused and stereotyped. "You black people..." I won't repeat the rest. Suffice to say I will never go back - and if you're black too, think twice. In response to your reply I must reiterate that the issue is about your making reference to my race. I am in no doubt that you are happy to take my money, but it was clear that you only saw my skin colour, based on the words that came out of your own mouth.

Hands down one of the best Chinese restaurant in Huddersfield. Quite trendy furnishing. Can’t believe it took so long to discover this place. Prices are reasonable and relatively authentic. Can’t really beat Chinatown in Manchester/Leeds; but the closest you’re going to get in Huddersfield/Halifax area. There can be a bit of a communication barrier when ordering.

Popped in here today, and what a hidden gem! The food was outstanding, we had the falafel and halloumi flatbread (with one vegan option/vegan cheese instead of halloumi) and the Greek style chicken skewers, the portions are big and so flavoursome. The staff were excellent and the coffee was great too! Highly recommend!

We called in here for a late breakfast. Lots of tables reserved for lunchtime bookings. Very impressed with the menu. The chorizo eggs benedict was amazing! Next time Im going for the afternoon tea, it looked really good.

Went for the Greek bottomless brunch with 2 friends and it was amazing. They were really busy, but staff were so attentive and friendly and the cocktails were delicious. We were already planning our next visit whilst we were there!!

Go directly here for the best quality and value breakfast in Huddersfield town centre. Regular is a huge size breakfast including black pudding, enough to keep you going all day. Vegetation options good also. Advice:Pre-book if a special day or larger group. Although normally ok weekdays morning for walk ins.

Had a fair few of the afternoon teas which are amazing and was yet to try the food menu, it was incredible. Can't wait to go back to try more of the menu as soon as. Everything about it was perfect and service is always 10/10.

Hidden gem! The food is absolutely delicious. I visited with my mum for an afternoon tea and it was beautiful. The food from the menu that I saw looked amazing, too. Highly recommend 👌 Visited again today 3/5/24! It was amazing again, great staff and the food was immense, quality food! I have attached pic's! Don't delay book today!!!

Not cheap and I would say afternoon tea was average. Service was polite but a bit disjointed. We had no tea then 2 pots appeared at the same time. Salad put on top of crisps which made them soft. Sandwiches were basic but have to give credit for the mini fish and chips. Not bad in fairness but with a couple of minor changes could be top class.
Martin G — Google review
Finally got to try this place! They were very accommodating when we told them we our dietary needs, even gave us halal turkey and stuffing sandwiches . We had the pesctarian afternoon, which had mini fish and chips, halloumi fries, falafel, soup, a selection of sandwiches.. Sweet treats. We enjoyed every bite. But I taken one star off as when I asked if I could have a top up on my teapot I was told I could only have hot water not a teabag. I think that was unfair, especially because I had enough milk, sugar etc. Lemon posset is to die for. Will return again (maybe with my own teabag)

The Barn, located in the charming village of Almondbury near Huddersfield, is a delightful escape from the everyday hustle and bustle. This converted barn restaurant offers an intimate atmosphere perfect for romantic dinners or special gatherings. The menu features a wonderful blend of traditional and modern British dishes, all crafted with locally sourced ingredients by the talented chef Ben. His culinary expertise shines through in every dish, making each bite a flavorful experience that guests rave about long after their visit.
Went to The Barn for the first time tonight with a group of friends. We were so impressed. Lovely quirky little restaurant with a great atmosphere. Ben and the team are so lovely and welcoming and the service was spot on. The food was absolutely gorgeous. I had prawns to start - sublime. Then steak - perfection with a sauce that was so moorish I could have eaten a whole bowl of it on its own. To finish- churros- served hot and crisp with a dusting of sugar and cinnamon and a warm dipping chocolate - just divine. The rest of our party had goats cheese salads and chicken taco starters, followed by either steaks or sea bass. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. We will definitely be going back. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Always a great night here. Small , intimate , top notch food and service. Catered for an off site private party for me in August 2023. Wow! Our guests are still talking about it. No wonder you have to book to get a table as it’s so popular. Thanks Ben and team.

Just WOW, chef Ben has created a masterpiece of simplicity. Taking the best produce and years of culinary experience, he has created some of the most flavoursome dishes I have ever tasted. The venue is intimate but full of energy due to the fun and a modern take on old fashioned customer service. The service is first class but without being stuffy or looking like they'd rather be somewhere else. With a good selection of cocktails, beers and wines to compliment the food I can only give The Barn a 5star review. Thank you I will be back.

Nice restaurant, lovely, professional front of house staff that gave a great service. Nothing was too much trouble. The buffet has a variety of dishes and seemed to cater for the most popular ones. Some people may want more choice, but what we had was lovely and yes we would go back. Couldn't get car in to carpark due to narrow opening, so had to park on side street. Keep up the good work.

The staff went above and beyond to make everything feel special — from helping us organize the setup to ensuring every guest was looked after. The food was incredible — fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. Everyone was raving about it all night! The atmosphere was just right — intimate, elegant, and warm — exactly what we wanted for our celebration. The team’s attention to detail and genuine care really made the night unforgettable. We were visiting Huddersfield and decided to stop here for dinner. We were greeted by a warm and friendly lady. I have some intolerances and she suggested what to order. She was lovely with the children too. The food was yummy and the roti was the best I've ever had, so soft and fluffy!. The prices were decent too. I'd definitely recommend. It was a lovely end to our day in Huddersfield. If we're around the area again, I wouldn't hesitate coming again!. Thank you for the delicious meal and wonderful customer service.

Absolutely delicious beef rendang. This was voted the best curry in the world and that doesn’t surprise me. Lovely rice and pickled veg salad too. Also, almost everything is served in cardboard instead of plastic and all comes in a brown paper bag. This will be a regular spot for me from now on. Thank you chef 😊

Nestled in the heart of Slaithwaite, Anello stands out as a must-visit destination for pizza lovers in Yorkshire. This charming independent pizzeria, founded by the creators of the renowned Rudys, offers a delightful atmosphere where families and friends can gather to enjoy delicious food and good vibes. Diners rave about Anello's perfectly blistered crusts and flavorful toppings, particularly praising their house-made spiced sausage and pickled jalapeños that elevate each bite.
Love this place!!! I come especially from Manchester for the pizza. The best I’ve ever had! The small plates are also worth the trip alone. Seriously good 👌

I’ve eaten here 10+ times and always bring none local friends when I get the chance. Incredible place with an attentive happy staff. Pizzas are always as fresh as they are incredible. The drinks selection is generous, the menu has some new experiments every time I go whether it be the deserts, sides or specials; creating a unique dining experience every-time. The place is stylish and modern, visibly well cared for and hyper local to the rest of Slaithwaite. Across from a wine bar and within 2mins walk of at least 6 great places to grab a drink before/after. Will continue to eat here at every opportunity

Anello is hands down some of the best pizza I've had for a while. The crust was perfectly blistered, the toppings are cracking, especially the in house spiced sausage and pickled jalapeno. Every bite is packed with flavour and you can tell a lot of care goes into the food here. My only slight criticism was the under of the pizza, it was slightly under for me, but I should have asked for well fired! The service was relaxed, which fit the vibe of the restaurant perfectly. It felt welcoming and unpretentious, like a place where you can truly enjoy your meal. The ice cream was incredible. Rich, creamy, and clearly made with high quality ingredients. The perfect way to end the meal. Already looking forward to my next visit. Anello is a must if you haven't yet!

What a great spot to come for quality food. We came mid week and still very popular so I'd recommend booking just in case. Great food, pizza cooked with fire right in the middle of the restaurant which is a nice feature. Staff very friendly and place is chill vibe too. Price fair too i hope to be back soon.

We had a lovely meal here on Friday evening. The staff were friendly and attentive. The starters were excellent. The smoked mozzarella croquette was gorgeous. We then shared a pizza and a salad which is a good job as the pizza was yummy but huge. A bottle of nice Sicilian white wine was £22. Two starters, one pizza, one salad and the wine was £30 each including a tip. Would definitely go back and recommend to friends.
Julia S — Google review
Unfortunately, Anello’s makes no effort to cater to people who are gluten-free. We were planning a meal at Anello’s this weekend and were really excited to try it, but one of our family members has celiac disease. When checking the website, we found a section that essentially says, “If you’re gluten-free, too bad — we can’t guarantee there will be anything on the menu you can eat.” This is the first time I’ve come across a restaurant that makes absolutely no effort at all. I refuse to believe it’s too difficult to include one or two gluten-free salads on the menu. It’s just not good enough — especially surprising given that this restaurant has such a good reputation. Because of this, we’ve had to find a new venue for our booking of eight people.
Jack B — Google review
Have to agree with every other review - this place is amazing! The pizza was fantastic but really the star of the show was the small plates. Deep fried olives (genius invention), porchetta, all delicious and something unique compared to the typical starters you can get anywhere. We had 3 small plates and a pizza between us as well as a glass of wine and a mocktail, it was £40! Incredible value for food this good.
Alyx B — Google review
Anello baked amazing pizzas. The service was quick. The pizzas were at your table before you knew it. All the ingredients were top notch. The restaurant was family friendly, lots of young family's whist still having a good atmosphere. *Edit: Iv been back a few times since the first review, its now my favorite place for pizza.

If you're in Huddersfield and craving a delicious noodle experience, look no further than Mc Noodle King. This gem offers a delightful combo of noodles paired with generous chunks of meat and prawns, available in small, medium, and large portions. While the small size is priced at just £6, the menu boasts an array of other tempting dishes to explore. However, be prepared to pay in cash as card payments are not accepted here.
I absolutely love these noodles. I have the combo, which is noodles with chunks of meat and prawns. They have small, medium and large. The small is £6.. They've lots of other dishes. Be aware that they only take cash. At the time of writing this, the opening times are 11am to 10pm. I've only 1 bad thing to say. It's suppose to open at 11am. 3 times I had to go back and today (Mon 23rd Sept 2023) the door was open, lights were on, but they still weren't ready for customers. As I have a bus to catch. I couldn't wait. Very disappointing with the opening times.
Gail G — Google review
The food is very delicious, I always buy my noodles from here. One of the best in huddersfield. However, there is no option for card payment, which is inconvenient. The store itself also doesn't have a great atmosphere, as it could have improved lighting and dining areas e.g the tables and seating.
Dennis U — Google review
I really have no idea how this place has a 4+ rating. I got the Pad Thai box with the drink... I think it was something like 8 pound something... The positives: The food was fresh and warm, they make it on the spot and you can see them making it. The boxes are a good size. I got the regular and there was plenty of food. The negatives:... Where do I start.... The food has absolutely no flavour... This tasted nothing like Pad Thai noodles... It even has a bland colouring. There were like 2 or 3 pieces of chicken and almost no vegetables... All the vegetables were at the top so once that's gone you're left with bland soggy noodles... I don't even know why they're soggy since there's virtually no sauce in there. I ate about a quarter of it and then it literally tasted like soggy watery rice noodles... I had to go to the kitchen and put on some soy sauce and mexican hot sauce to give it some hint of flavour.... Maybe they just don't know how to make that particular dish and maybe their other dishes are better... Or it could be that they cater too much to the western palate.... I'll give it another try at some point and edit my review if it improves. Also, they don't take cards... Only cash.
Irving M — Google review
I usually get the same thing which is a sweet box from there and they always fill it to the top. I got a large box and spent 8 pound and this time it was nowhere near the top. Also there was 0 meat in the box minimal chicken, no beef and no pork. When I went back and asked I had to drive all the way from home after being obviously disappointed but I go there a lot and it was a first time thing so I went there being very nice And

I introduced three friends to this charming restaurant, and they were thoroughly impressed. The highlight of our meal was undoubtedly the dessert—the tartufo—which left me craving more! Over my visits, I've enjoyed an array of unique dishes that you wouldn't typically find at mid-priced eateries; one standout being the pigeon breast—absolutely delicious!

Visited last night for the first time since lockdown. I introduced 3 friends to the restaurant and they were super impressed. My dessert was the best thing I've tasted in a long time (the tartufo) my only complaint would be that I could have eaten double the portion :D I've had many really lovely meals here, tried food that isn't usually served at mid priced restaurants - pigeon breast being a notable one. It's delicious! I've also had one visit where the wheels fell off. They are students after all! Should that happen on your visit please don't complain. The students know they've screwed up and you shouting doesn't help anybody. Instead, lean into it. Appreciate the drama, the theatre. You'll still get fed, it just might be late or not quite what you ordered. But that's the joy of eating quality food at bargain prices. You get to see the learning process first hand. I love it!

It’s my first time at this cafe and chef recommended number 38 which is the Pad Gaprao The cafe is located on the first floor of the Packhorse Centre in Huddersfield. They have a halal chicken certification which is good to know. The chicken Pad Gaprao that I ordered came very quickly and was nice and hot. The meal portion was nice and decent amount. Price for the Pad Gaprao was £8. Very pleased that there’s proper metal cutlery and table service. Friendly staff. Improvement: get halal certified beef and stop selling pork and then I’ll come here everyday!

I placed an order for delivery and rang up to ask if the driver could call instead of knocking on the door which the woman said was okay. She seemed like she just wanted to get me off the phone and mid question ended the call on me. And the worst thing is , the driver didn’t ring my phone but knocked the door instead. Food was decent however I ordered chicken Katsu Hirata bun and the bun got stuck onto the packaging and ripped off. Pan Asian is quite expensive and for the price does not reach the standard. The only thing saving this review is taste of the bun and chicken udon noodles which btw only had 5 small cubes of chicken in it. Please fix ur customer service because I’ve come here in person once and the workers look like they don’t know what they’re doing and they all look at u weirdly from the back when ur trying the food (if ur the only people in the restraunt) But again like I said. The taste of the food was nice so thank you for that

I recently went into this unpleasant food place and there was only 1 worker, food was highly pricy and i ordered salt and pepper chips which were way too spicy. I ended up almost choking in the restaurant as the spice went straight to the back of my throat , i couldn’t even finish half of my food as the portion was too big and too spicy. I recommend adding a non-spicy version to the menu as i didn’t know and there was no description saying it had spice. I will upload a photo below showing the amount of spice and onions added, more onions than food. I WONT BE GOING BACK. Disappointed !!!!!!!!! 😡

Ordered a salmon sushi set that costs £16.50 and there’s only salmon maki roll and a tiny slice of salmon on the of the middle seafood roll. Most of it is seafood stick. If you want sushi, you best going to Little Lotus across the road or TJs Thai & Sushi restaurant for better quality and quality for the price.

Upon arrival, we were seated right away. The staff who took our order was so polite and accommodating. Ambience of the place was so inviting. Food dont't just look great but taste great as well. Serving of donburi was good enough for two. Definitely won't disappoint.
