The food was average, but I find their disrespect unacceptable. As a guest, I deserve to enjoy my meal in peace and not get disturbed with staff loudly rearranging the whole area around me, taking chairs and tables to their "more important" guests at the front without even acknowledging my presence in the area I was seated. I am a solo traveller, and I do not get offended when they put me to a less desirable part of a restaurant, especially when I come without a reservation, but I am still a guest and their rudeness was so much to handle so I had to leave in the middle of my meal. For future, I suggest you take better care of solo travellers, as they take up little space, stay relatively short, and often give generous tips. So we are not nuisance, but profitable customers. I am not going back there, but maybe my review could help other people if they are unlucky to meet you...

Lovely. A great location and food that is even better than the menu suggests; a modern take on local ingredients without being too fussy. Book ahead to get the best seats at the front of the terrace. Prices are similar to other good places in town.

Great location, let down buy the extremely small portions of food. 50 euros for 2 small filets of grilled fish, 4 small carrots and 3 small florets of broccoli and that was for 2 people! Owner/ manager was very rude and condescending when we asked politely if they had made a mistake with the food they had served us. Certainly would not return. Best evening in Calvi! The three young waiters were very friendly and funny. Ihr waiter apologized for not speaking english in a very charming way and tried his best to make us understand everything. As vegetarians we didn’t find anything on the menu first but after asking the chef made us an incredibly yummy and very nicely presented main dish of brown rice, sweet corn, lentils and chickpeas. The dessert and the vine was perfect too. So was the view. All in all a perfect evening in Calvi!

This restaurant was recommended to us by a local in Calvi. It definitely offered better value than many other restaurants in Calvi which have a high price. We had salads which were perfect during the hot day. The best part of Candella however, is the view- incredible!! Amazing.

I am a solo traveller, so I sometimes get this "a table for just one??" look, but I found the staff here very warm and welcoming, and the food+drinks were all great.

The 2 of us went there for dinner. They have a beautiful view on the harbour, city and the mountains. The staff was very friendly and helped us with a smile. The food was the same as the service, really good! Not a tourist trap at all but friendly people, good food and a nice view. We would go back!

We stopped for the bar area and had a glass of wine and an ice cream. They have flavors hard to come scross anywhere else! We got a scoop of Rose and another of Violet. It was so delightful and refreshing on a warm day.

It was good, similar to a wine braised beef with polenta. Note that there were quite a few people smoking on the terrace if that is an issue for you.

The fish and chips doughy and also cold. The local pork stew with polenta tasted reheated and just...Bad. Service was acceptable but slow. Not a recommended visit.

Lovely place with very fresh ingredients. A slightly different menu from a lot of the other restaurants in Calvi which is nice while keeping some of the traditional plates. I was solo and speak very little French and was welcomed by the friendly staff. I tried the migliaccioli which was very interesting - sort of fried cheese mini pancakes and a really tasty tomato salad with some eggs. Recommend!

Really Bad Service. We waited 20 minutes to order and then they just took every plate away because we wanted one meal and not two! Unreal experience and really not okay. Pizza were thin and very crispy, loved the homemade chocolate fondant! The outdoor setting was lovely and cool after a really hot day, they had planned mosquitos repellant and something to keep the wasps busy as well which was a bonus!
