Great service in a welcoming environment. Our food was good and tasty and the dogs meals were enjoyed as they finished off the bowl contents. If there is a dog poo bin in the garden, I didn't see it, so would suggest having one around the corner by the gate as dogs are very welcome and may need to perform!

We popped in here for an evening meal whilst staying in Gosport over night prior to sailing from Southampton. The menu is a collection of rather specially prepared meals. The food was great, a good choice of drinks and although not very busy, it was atmospheric. The waitress behind the bar was super polite. A great little pub nicely decorated. Would reccommend for food.

Went here for Sunday lunch today. Had heard from friends that the food was good but! Oh.my.goodness! Rare Roast beef. Amazing food. Portion size was perfect. Drinks were flowing nicely and the staff were fab! Definitely visit again!

Super helpful staff who made us feel at home. We were looking for a dog friendly pub with good food and were not disappointed. A friendly, relaxed, playful atmosphere.

Food is good (salt and chilli chicken), waiting and bar staff are great, and the atmosphere is also good. The large pub garden and kids play area make a great venue for a relaxing day in the sun. Also dog friendly! Would highly recommend

I use to think that you cant have a fantastic meal in U.k.until today.Walking down the streets of Gosport, looking for the ferry back to Portsmouth we get to see the Fighting Cocks pub.And we were talking about having a pint and maybe something to eat. Dont be drag away from the outside look.They have an impressive beer garden on the back and the food was....spot on.Even for vegans(as me) they have some very interesting options.The prices were just like in any other pubs in Portsmouth. And the bartenders were friendly and very helpful..There is no discussion,i will recommend the place to everybody who goes to Portsmouth. Hopefully,one day i will get to come back .

Found this place by accident, having taken a wrong turn. Lovely, bright and airy interior, VERY comfortable ambiance, super friendly and welcoming staff...and one of THE most beautiful young ladies behind the bar. The landlady is quiet special too. Free WiFi, free car parking in the street and opposite the pub. Decent menu (I didn't eat on this visit). From a personal perspective, there were too many dogs on my visit, but presumably, this will suit many? This venue also has a beer garden. Sensibly they have time restraints on evening closing, thus respecting their neighbours. Highly recommended.

I can't review the food as we only had a drink in here but I looked god coming out of the kitchen. Such a beautiful location right on a lakeside with great views due to its elevated position. Outside seating on a warm sunny day must be such a treat, we sat in by the window with the heating on a cold winters day and it was still lovely to sit and stare a while. Service was very friendly and efficient, cleanliness was extremely good. The place was nearly full about 1pm with lots of happy atmosphere. I will return onw7day to sample the menu for sure. Car park £1.60 per hour right next to cafe and the town centre across the road.

I hired this venue for my sons cristening and lakeside went above and beyond to accommodate my needs. They adjusted the hire times to outside of their usual times and had the venue looking amazing for our little boy. We had so many compliments on how lovely the venue was and beautiful the food was. The staff were very friendly and would recommend this place to anyone. Will definitely be returning. Thanks guys!

We had our parents wake at Lakeside and couldn't be happier with the service we received. Jack arranged everything for me beforehand. On the day we had top class service from the 2 lovely ladies there. The food was fresh, delicious and plenty of it. They refilled teapots and served countless beers with smiles and sympathy. I would highly recommend Lakeside to anyone xx

Went here in order to sit outside in the breeze off the lake and cool down but the service was so friendly and thoughtful. I only had a nice icecream sundae the first time but keep returning and enjoy everything. it is very good WITH GLUTEN FREE BREAD-and a great location with a ramp to the door too so it seems there’s very easy disabled access

Travelled all the way from Scotland for a party at this amazing place. Gorgeous setting, fabulous views and an amazing cafe and bar. It made a perfect party venue. Lovely and clean inside, bright and felt spacious, amazing friendly staff, couldn't do enough for us. Food for party was a buffet and everything was good quality and really tasty as well as being plentiful. Great little bar, well stocked and very reasonably priced. Outside balcony area with seating was perfect for a little breather and fresh air. The atmosphere inside was terrific and it has a lovely little circular spot which makes a perfect dance floor. Staff were always on the go, keeping everything flowing and clearing. Toilet facilities nice and clean. I cant recommend this place highly enough, best party ever, I can't wait to pop in next time I travel down to try their everyday menu which I was told by regulars is lovely and fresh.

We recently used Lakeside for a family event and they were fantastic. Lovely welcoming faces and the food was outstanding. 10/10 would recommend.

A Hidden Gem by the Beach in Gosport 🌊 Absolutely beautiful place right by the beach, perfect for a relaxing meal with a view. The atmosphere was lovely, and the staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming. We didn’t have to wait long for our food, which was a nice bonus. Everything we ordered was delicious and clearly made with care. It is a bit on the pricier side, so more of a treat than an everyday stop, but definitely worth it for the quality and location. Would happily go back again, a great spot to unwind and enjoy good food by the sea 😊

We had 2 small bayside breakfasts and two lattes. Cost £34. Positives. Great location Plenty of parking (paid for using Mii Parking app) Plenty of tables Outdoor and indoor seating during summer Staff are generally friendly and keep busy The food is mostly nice The coffee is great Negatives It's up there with the more £££ The cutlery is shockingly cheap metal and sharp to hold. As a raynaud's sufferer, I will definitely take my own cutlery next time. They add a 10% service charge to total bill. I would gladly leave it as a tip for the server (but it should not be compulsory on the bill). Dogs barking and yapping at each other inside. Dogs outside is much nicer for the dog as well as other diners.

Haven’t been here in forever. Was visiting my dad and we had a family lunch. Perfect sandwiches and then for dessert I had the Biscoff waffle which I wasn’t expecting to be this big but so worth the money, absolutely delicious. We all had a wonderful lunch!

Friend took me to this lovely cafe by the water for lunch. Loads of options to choose from and what we had was delicious - jumbo fish finger sandwich and a loaded fries with chilli - yummy smoothies too. Great place to come, plenty of seating and parking (though you it is a paid car park). A+ definitely recommend!

The Bayside Cabin was a really nice experience overall. It was great to be able to sit outside with our dogs, and our party of seven was well looked after. The staff were all very friendly and the service was excellent. The food was mostly very nice. While the sausage could have been better and the bacon was a little overcooked, the rest of the meal was very enjoyable. We had a pleasant time and would visit again.

Amazing views plenty of choice and can be busy weekend and holidays. A bit pricey but the location makes it worth it and the staff are so friendly. The food is good and the atmosphere is usually buzzing with happy people. Don't forget to pay for parking which was £1.70 an hour !! Toilets for customers only and fairly clean.

Also while I'm on a moan about takeaways. We ordered a meal about a month ago from little Palace chinese takeaway and restaurant in Alverstoke it was discusting. The curry tasted of nothing no seasoning and mum had main coarse sate, which was bright red and looked more like sweet and sour, it was mum's 80 birthday so we had it for a treat as our usual takeaway was closed that evening and they both went in the bin, I wouldn't even give it to my dog because of all the colouring. I asked for a refund and the actual chef said no way. I have worked in the past for eight years in Chinese restaurants and never tasted anything like that. I am also a qualified chef and could have made a better meal myself. Wish I had. They even had the cheek to ask me if I was a takeaway customer or a restaurant customer, what difference should that make. Magic Wok every time, there food is always beautiful. That chef even said I wasn't a regular so didn't understand food. Fools

My friend and I are both gluten free and often struggle to find good Chinese food that we can eat. We heard this place does plenty of gluten free options and it didn't disappoint. The food was delicious and the service was great. Would highly recommend!

First time order! Had to change as our regular Chinese has gone down hill. Only ordered a chow mein each as we both weren't overly hungry. Both had one mouthful of each others dish and got food envy. Will definitely be back and happy to have a new favourite Chinese!

You would have to go a long way to find a better Chinese restaurant / take away than this little gem tucked away in the heart of Alverstoke village. Nice and clean, friendly service and lovely food. What more could you ask for ?

Disappointing and Overpriced Absolutely terrible experience. The food was far below expectations, especially considering the price we paid. Everything was overly salty to the point it was hard to eat. The curry sauce had a bizarre jelly-like texture — not smooth or appetising at all. The chicken balls and chips tasted like they were fried in old, dirty oil, leaving a horrible aftertaste. As for the ribs, they were just fat and gristle — barely any meat on them. Honestly, this was one of the worst takeaways we’ve ever had. Won’t be ordering again.

1st course crispy duck, hardly any meat and just crispy bits. Mentioned it but no action. Main course nice , overall prices far far to expensive for what you get. Prices constantly going up but no improvement on content.

Easy to park next to restaurant when not busy else plenty of space in Morrisons car park. The place was clean when me and my dad visited about 1pm on Saturday. Had a lovely boneless chicken meal with the dip that tastes like it could strip layers off my tongue. Really enjoyed the meal overall well worth it. Service ok just no interaction. Update on December 2024: I love the Tower stacker meal. If you like stuffing mixed in with chicken wrapped in a coating of kfc spice crumbs, then this is for you. I really enjoyed the 6 I like more than fries from other burger chains. The gravy has a spice ingredient too, which I like, the mayo not too spicy this time round for me a lovely experience. Toilets are used by non customers and subsequently not respected but nevertheless usable.

This restaurant is hit or miss really. I've been there for 5-6 times and I had my food piping hot once, warm 3-4 times, and lukewarm once. I still go back when I am craving some KFC to the experience is good enough, they are serving the food fast and I've never seen the place in shambles, it's always clean.

The low point in an otherwise excellent day. It’s only KFC, I get it but compared to somewhere like McDonalds down the road this place is dire. Staff more interested in having a smoke and a chat outside and playing their own music in the kitchen so it competes with the piped music in the restaurant. The “meal” consisted of a few limp and soggy chips clumped together in a paper bag - I actually felt sorry for the potato, and some dry chewy chicken. I ended up leaving the chips and one of the bits of chicken. The Pepsi always tastes like cleaning fluid so I tried a 7Up, again took a couple of sips and left the rest. As a kid we used relish a KFC bucket, it was a treat. How the mighty have fallen. I can’t think this place will survive.

Once again this Gosport kfc is below par ! This evening we as a family ordered family bucket 10 pieces unfortunately we were given 6 drumsticks not much of a variety! Each time I have chosen this branch it’s been the same ! I will in future and as before traveled to Fareham branch , maybe I’m just unlucky but guys if you want our custom put some effort in pls

It's been a long time since I visited a KFC restaurant,and to be honest I'm in no rush to go back,the staff look miserable,and unwelcoming!, you would think thay were the ones about to get covered in seasoning and thrown into the fryer!!, i ordered my meal,got charged 50p for sauce,the meal was that small it was laughable!.its no secret the country is broken,but i had no idea just how bad!it was a experience I will say that!!! Not to be reapted!!

Good was quick and hot and service was good, however disappointing that there wasn't any hot drink options nor were there any ice cream or Krushem availability.

Thrown together, couldn’t even be bothered to cut it, stone cold, another useless subway in the south which I have to assume is ran by the same family as the rest of them, they couldn’t give one toss.

The manager wasn’t letting us have any food or drink. I calmly asked for some iced water and she refused, then ignored me. She wouldn’t let my friend go in too, even though she was about to buy something. Nick was nice to us but the lady manager wasn’t. I don’t like going in there, it’s very unpleasant. Food is good as per usual but I hate the atmosphere. I am also disappointed as I used to love it, this is a let down.

Waited 10 minutes to be served even though no one was ahead of me, Flys on the big menu, opened a blue packet of doritoes to add to them to someone's sub and didn't change gloves even though they were on the front counter. When I paid cash, the guy gave me my change then started handling my food with out changing gloves again. What an absolute joke

Great BMT on Italian bread & the service was quick & cheerful. Can't ask for anymore. Sometimes these places get busy & I don't mind waiting but this place has rapid service & was clean throughout which means that is here can do it, why can't other Subway's! Yum!

First time I used this branch this morning. Absolutely rubbish. Not toasted. Sauces and salad applied without being asked what we wanted. Very poor. Will not use again.

A chaotic experience; it wasn’t even busy but the staff managed to mess my order up and give me the wrong sandwich which I only realised when I walked 15 mins home.

Just received this poor quality of service from Subway, Alver Village Square. Salad bowl half full with four pieces of chicken. Footlong BMT was lacking in salad as ordered. No lettuce, no cheese, about three pieces of pepper and no cucumber. Very, very poor service and quality of food. It suggests to me that as we are unable to watch them make the food, they believe they can get away with poor customer service as there is no recourse once the food has bern delivered. Disgusted with this excuse of an order and won't be ordering from here again. On the other hand, the Just Eat delivery was superb.

First time ever ordering from here, order was one burger £6.99 and a meal deal £10.49 one burger received and a can of coke ,but no chips as asked for as part of deal !! Which means it works out I payed 3.99 for a coke 😠 no more orders from me in future .. order yesterday 25th September

Absolutely terrible. I ordered a so called Lebanese salad, was vile, soggy and absolute day light robbery at £4.99. I have no idea how they came to that price? I complained and they replaced it with this equally hideous‘ Mediterranean’ salad, pictured below. We threw our burgers away🥺 total waste of time. I only gave 1 star, because the chips were ok

Very good selection of beer, and awesome ciders (if you like cider try them out!!!!). Food was generous and served pretty fast. Special mention for the sticky pudding, a must try. I have to mention about the staff as I’ve seen a lot of reviews naming « friendly staff » and such : it wasn’t my experience at all, both ladies at the counter were acting pissed towards me and I felt like I was not welcomed for no reasons, maybe because of my North American accent or French Canadian one? Anyways this lowered the quality of my experience. Smell of alcohol, loud clients, lots of navy stuff all around, makes it an authentic pub, try it, it’s not expensive and British navy flavor all the way.

I’m a bit “old fashioned” and being at sea nearly 35 years I do like a good maritime pub. I’ve been in Portsmouth 3 months and I have enjoyed the service and food here at the Ship A! The staff work hard and at times are ran ragged. This is a proud pub with its roots in maritime heritage and the Union flag. Love this place so much I bought the T-shirt.

Friendly locals, interesting interior, bit too hot inside, and unfortunately I was disappointed with the steak and ale pie as the crust was so hard and almost impossible to cut, was probably in microwave too long, also meat a bit fatty. It was edible and I hadn't eaten all day so I didn't complain. Nobody came to ask me if everything was OK. However the meals my sons had looked good but I will go elsewhere next time I'm in Portsmouth.

The best Sunday dinner I’ve eaten during my stay in England. Excellent selection of beer 🍻 and friendly staff. The place was very busy when we visited and the atmosphere was fantastic. You’re surrounded by conversations and laughter.

Lovely pub, sea views, great staff who were super friendly, excellent local knowledge and a sense of humour! They offered for me to come and pull a pint too which was very funny. I think I was served by a woman called Meg - not sure - but shout-out Meg. Another Greene King coming in clutch with the 20% student discount!

The Ship Anson is exactly what you hope for when you stumble into a British pub: noisy in the best way, full of characters, and with beer that tastes like it has been keeping sailors alive for centuries. We walked in as strangers and walked out as honorary Portsmouth locals – or at least that’s how it felt after a few pints. The banter flies across the room like cannon fire, the atmosphere is warm but sharp, and the staff know how to keep the glasses full without killing the vibe. Back home in Switzerland, such a night would be impossible: we’d all sit in silence, nursing one overpriced drink, while waiting for the last bus. Here, we laughed with people we’d never met, shouted across tables, and felt part of something bigger than ourselves. The Ship Anson isn’t just a pub – it’s proof that Britain’s greatest empire is still alive, and it’s built of wood, brass, and beer. We’ll be back.

Belting boozer just outside Portsmouths major tourist traps. Minimal but ok menu. Beer selection more than makes up for any downsides though, and please try the house bitter, well worth it. 💯% Recomended

A decent meal, which was obviously freshly cooked. Beautiful location with lots of space indoors and outside. We had the burgers, but the fish dishes being served to others looked amazing. Definitely coming back

Very busy lunchtime service, my order quickly placed and service was exemplary. Good presentation, the food was spicy and tasty. Happy to visit again, the prices are very fair.

Popped in for dinner here when visiting family and couldn't recommend it more. The food was delicious (I had fish and chips) and the portion sizes were huge - every table took home doggie bags. For pudding, we shared the cheesecake which was tasty too!

Prices keep going up one tea one coffee now £6.50, 2 or 3 price increases in a year, today we noticed they have also cut the cup size but still charging too much. Service is not good , very slow and too slow to clear and clean tables. We go most days but will probably go elsewhere now

Really nice clean place with very friendly great staff. I had a toffee and honeycomb cheesecake with ice-cream and presentation and taste was amazing. Will always try to come back if in this area. Just outside there is a parking more or less £1/h. Easy to find nice place,great food and atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Great little Indian restaurant in Gosport. Fairly priced and good service. We had a table of 20 and the staff handled our party really well. The Buddha's Delight curry was delicious.

We have used this restaurant for the past 3 years and wouldn't go anywhere else. We visit in house 2-3 times a year on our birthdays and anniversaries. And have at least 1 takeaway a month. Always with 10% discount on collection. Wether eating in or take away the food is amazing. So tasty, generous portions and cooked to perfection. And very fairly priced. The mango and pistachio ice creams are always a must after the meal. The staff are always so attentive and nothing is too much trouble. They are friendly and professional but can still have a laugh and a joke about which adds to the atmosphere and ambiance. We have always booked before eating in as you can rarely get seated if you just walk in-a tell tale sign of just how good it is here. Very clean, and mellow authentic Indian decor throughout. Definitely recommend this place

Food a bit ordinary. Awful nan. Very flat and tastless. House wine is dreadful. Lovely service. Curries were good. Quite pricey for what we got. Not as good as the hype. Perhaps locals are seeing this as the restaurant was mostly empty on Friday night.

Mac - the owner, and Shamah - the waiter (I hope I have spelt both correctly) are the absolute life and soul of this restaurant. I would recommend takeaway because the food is absolutely incredible but I think the service here is my favourite part of the experience. Dress like a king or wear your shorts and flip flops, it doesn't matter, each of these gentlemen will treat you like the most important person in the room. I have been in to eat twice and I would (and often do) recommend this place to anybody that will listen. New Bengal is the pinnacle of high Street Indian restaurants and especially so in Gosport. I couldn't be happier with everything I've experienced here. Excellent food, incredible service, and a meal that will leave you full but fully satisfied. I couldn't comment on the deserts because I've been far too full on both occasions. Extremely generous portions but perfect for loving and sharing. I have tried various local Indian Restaurants and can't believe I haven't tried New Bengal until now. It's now at the top of my recommendation list. The Madras I ordered was full of flavour and the chicken was so nicely done! I also thoroughly enjoyed the pilau rice and naan bread.

Placed a takeaway order for collection, the service from the staff was excellent and the food was really tasty, I especially enjoyed the nimboo rice, not something I’ve heard of before, but will definitely be ordering again! They even made my peshwari naan without raisins specifically for me, which was appreciated.

Very generous and tasty pub grub. We had stilton and beef pie with roast potatoes and scampi and chips - both great portions. Few wines by the glass plus beers to select from and specials food menu. It was quite busy so service was a little slow but super friendly. 👌

I had a Lamb Roast for Sunday lunch. It was cooked beautifully and definitely much better than I could do at home. And then again why would you when you can arrive to friendly staff and enjoy such a great meal with no washing up.....for me that's absolutely perfect! Thankyou very much 🦩 Mrs R.

Great pub with helpful staff and a good choice of real ale. Food is very good value, very nice homely cooking and generous portions. They also offer roasts as part of the regular menu. All in all a great pub frequented by locals and yachtsmen & yachtswomen.

The food is pretty good for what you pay. They do lunchtime deals like 2 for £12. There are a range of specials written on the chalkboards in addition to the usual pub fair. The pub was quite empty when I went, so the atmosphere was quieter than usual. They seem to put the reserved plaque on tables more than an hour before people attend. All tables had one when we arrived, but only two saw patrons by the time we left an hour and a half later. If you walk in the only seats are stools at the bar

If you want an authentic looking English pub this is it. Very typical pub grub and the beverages to accompany. Excellent value for money, the roast beef was a bit tough but portion were generous. It might be a good idea to make a reservation as 80% of the table were reserved when we attended. Wait staff was effecient and friendly. It would have been more complete if horse radish was included in the table condiments.

Nut roast was brilliant as usual - recipe is just right so don't change it ! Would have been 5 stars but the chocolate ice-cream didn't look or taste like chocolate

Food is always delicious, I especially love the garlic butter sticks to start. Pizza and pasta dishes are always delicious. Cocktails aren't too good and the service can be a little slow, but it is by far one of the best restaurants in Gosport and I will keep coming back.

We ate here a number of times in the last week and highly rate and recommend the food is consistently of a high quality well presented with friendly efficient service clean warm with a good atmosphere. Keep up the good work

Ambiance is quite and cozy. Ideal for birthday celebrations and dinner. Foods are superb. Staff are friendly and accommodating. Highly recommended.

Food was ok, but why sit a table of four next to 20 people celebrating a 60th birthday. We couldn’t hear one another let alone the waitress. Would certainly not rush back.

In my job role is cover 15 - 30 pubs restaurants and month. Went here for food. Put off.. Staff playing pool. Dirty tables outside seating area. Ash trays full. Patio slabs dirty cigarettes on floor. Toilets out of order plastic Jugs under urinals. Surely if its quiet then staff should clean the place not play pool. 🤔

Amazing afternoon tea. Everything is home made cakes and scones. Sandwich fillings simple and delicious. Service impeccable and so warm and friendly. Will definitely have this again.

First time visiting here. Went there for lunch with a friend. I had the eggs Benedict and it was lovely. My friend had the tater tots with sausage and bacon and the portion was huge!!! The food was lovely and hot. Will definitely be going back again. It has a great menu with lots of fabulous choices.

The sea horse is under new management and they are ripping people off with parking fines. I took my daughter to Sunday lunch last week and just got a £100 parking fine so be aware. And the food was crap . It seems there has been lots of £100 fines so don’t bother going . When the South African couple had the pub it was fantastic and the steaks were of the highest quality . That’s why the place is now empty be aware be very aware

We attended the event Old Time Sailors and it was amazing. The team at the seahorse were really attentive throughout the evening. Food was included which was very tasty. The organisation of the event, before and during was spot on. The band were absolutely amazing, such fun. We hope you book them again. Best night out I ages. Well done Seahorse team

The food was okay, but it wasn’t as good as I thought it would be. The pub didn’t have any salad, so I had to choose a different food order. Overall, the service was good, but the food could have been better, however, the chunky chips were really tasty.

Fantastic food for an all you can eat menu ( a la carte ) is also available..... but why. We've been going here for years and years without finding anywhere as good for taste and value. The staff are amazing and really feel personal, they always ask regularly if you need anymore food so you'll never run out. The portions are small enough for you to try any dishes so it's well worth trying... definitely worth a visit when you come to Portsmouth area just hop on the ferry and it's right outside the boat stop. 5 stars 🌟 ⭐️🌟⭐️🌟

Absolutely amazing, was here celebrating my birthday. Food was delicious and plentiful, it was all you can eat and they come to you, so no need to queue up buffet style and it was brought to your table piping hot. Definitely would recommend 100%

I was surprised by my partner when we had dinner here at Great Wall. Being asian, I can attest that this is an awesome Chinese restaurant. I love buffets and so its an all you can eat. We mainly had most of the starters which were all so lovely. My favorite is the salt and chili pork ribs. Very tasty fall of the bone goodness. I also love the crispy seaweed and I know I can add it onto anything and it would taste good. The texture and the umami flavor was amazing. I had the duck wraps. The hoisin and the vegetables played a great role blending with the duck which made the wrap very succulent. This restaurant has a very lovely view of portsmouth harbour and the owners and servers were very attentive and very prompt. They take cards and cashm. They have a loo. If you can make reservations but we managed to be the second group to go in as we did a walk in as soon as it opened and not too bad for a weekday. Food 5/5 Price 5/5 Ambiance 5/5 Service 5/5

Service is good. Buffet menu for a hefty £23.95 per person. By the time you have read the rules, your starving . Ordering starters first we were asked if the Chicken Sate` was for 6. We got one each. 1 sweet and sour chicken ball. 1 garlic mushroom cut in half. You get the idea. I ordered lemon chicken. Was shocked, when I complained, they bought me a fresh dish. Just 3 slices! 2 types of rose wine, £20 a bottle !! And one of those was Mateus Rose ! Decor in the restaurant hasn't changed for 30 years, same pictures, same wood paneling and same steamed up window, so it's impossible to see the view. Not value for money , won't go again.

Popped in off the cuff for a bit of brunch. So pleased we did. Breakfast bap and a beer were great but the salt beef bagel was an absolute winner. Salt beef was tender and bagel was fresh. Service was friendly and polite. Price was reasonable at £20 for two people. Zoned seating areas inc a garden space. Nice addition to Portsmouth food scene. Well done guys.

Nice place to eat in or get takeaway. Pastries, breakfast, lunch, coffee, cocktails. The place has a good atmosphere, very cosy, with seating inside and outside. The staff were nice but service was a bit slow with food taking quite long to be served, once it arrived it was really good, made fresh with great taste and flavour. However, halfway through the meal we found a hair in the burrata dish; although, once alerted, the waitress was quick to address the problem, offering up a new dish to be made or take it off the bill. Overall, despite the hair, I would recommend this place and return again. It was a clean place with good facilities and quality ingredients.

I hired Baffled to cater my wedding and they did an absolutely phenomenal job! The food was outstanding. It was so delicious, full of flavour, and clearly made with fresh and high quality ingredients. Communication was excellent from start to finish, so everything ran seamlessly on the day. The portions were generous. It felt like such a special, thoughtful part of our day, and our guests are still talking about how lovely the food was —thank you so much!

My boyfriend and I had a great experience at baffled coffee. We actually found it by chance and it did not disappoint, the food was excellent and the staff were really friendly! Would definitely come back again :)

I recently visited Andre's, expecting a pleasant outing, but unfortunately, the experience was far from satisfactory. The staff were shockingly unprofessional!! I noticed them laughing among themselves as I was placing my order. I felt very uncomfortable and self-conscious! As for the food, it was equally disappointing! A messy baguette topped up with an incorrect proportion of ingredients and tasted like stale food! I hope this review helps Andre's to improve both their food quality and the staff's attitude toward customers.

I've never had an issue with Andres before but today has ruined my opinion of them. they left a panini off of the order so only one of them were delivered. I rang up expecting that they could send out the one I'd already paid for (and paid delivery on) but they said I'd have to collect. I'm not near an Andres and shouldn't be expected to go all the way there to collect something I already paid delivery on. I go in a lot but that's the end of my support

I have been a fan of Andre's for 25 years, I don't live in Portsmouth but visit Andres whenever I'm in southsea. Sadly the last 2 times have been disappointing, I always get a seafood baguette with extra onion and seafood sauce, last time my partner brought it home for me I complained there was no extra seafood sauce.... he insisted he asked and figured perhaps they forgot and we left it at that. He went and got me one on Monday (2 days ago) Brought it home and same thing, was actually dry and hard to see any seafood sauce never mind any extra, same goes for the onion there was barely any. The size of the baguette also bears mentioning as they have become much slimmer than they were, it's almost comical how skinny they are and considering its £5.30 I don't feel that it is value for money or worth the money. I appreciate everyone's feeling the pinch but don't like being ripped off and sadly that's what I feel. Saying that I still gave 4 stars as don't want to spoil they're rating over constructive criticism.

Great sandwiches and great measures for covid with everybody wearing masks and having plastic shield at the till when you pay. Chicken sandwich and brie and bacon sandwiches were wonderful! Caffe latte was ok and it felt a bit liquidy. If there is any no sugar option with oat milk alternative will help this more. Lovely staff as well!!

I paid £7 for a part-baked baguette, which is outrageous, especially considering how thin and tiny they are. The flavor was lackluster and mediocre at best. For that price, I expected something exceptional. There are plenty of better bakeries offering more for half the price. Despite their heritage in Pompey, this place is massively overpriced. I spent nearly £40 on lunch here over two days while working nearby. I wouldn’t mind if the food tasted amazing, but honestly, I’d rather have a Greggs steak slice. This place tries, but their cheap ingredients let them down. It's very expensive and the quality is poor. I won’t be returning, as much as I'd like to support a local business, it’s simply too expensive for subpar food.

We had a lovely salad bowl of their garlic chicken with lots of fresh salad. Topped with a chilli mayo sauce. Also a pulled pork panini which was equally tasty and fresh. Great value at £9:50.

Vegan friendly and aware. Tom Yam mushroom soup lethally spicey (the way I like it!) and papaya salad was good. Basil stir fry bland - ask for extra Thai basil! Green curry ok. Tofu excellent (fried but absorbs all the flavour). Would go again & more other dishes 😍 Staff lovely and friendly 💜

Came by this place more by accident than design, and so glad I did. The staff were very pleasant and welcoming. A Thursday night, so maybe not expected to be busy. Food was presented well and plentiful. Dumplings to start, then the beef Thai green curry and jasmine rice.

Called up to place an order as deliveroo had an issue. Told 45 minutes for delivery but was here in 20.. Also was 10% cheaper to order direct. Don't bother with deliveroo.. Exceptional service and food was fantastic. Highly recommend. Even my bird loved it

A hidden gem. The food is superb and the service friendly. The kitchen and facilities are very clean. I had soup and a green curry, next time going for the green papaya salad. I have no idea why it was empty on a Friday lunch but if we want to keep this gem we must use it.

Been to many Thai Restaurants in all countries, so I went here as I was on a bussiness trip and I had seen all the good reviews. To be honest I had expected more, the portions were quite small and the taste was not like I am used to when eating Thai.

Hands down one of the best places I have ever eaten breakfast. The quality of the ingredients shines through every single bite, and is outstanding for the price. If I was being really picky over the food, the fried bread could do with being a touch less oily, but that is a minor quibble. The large breakfast was easily too much food and even the "standard" breakfast was too much to handle in one sitting. Staff were fine with providing us take out boxes for the rest though. Service was fantastic and everything was done with a smile.

Stopped to have a couple of beers. Only one that I like to drink in there was Guinness. The staff was friendly and helpful. Had good banter with the customers in there so the atmosphere was very friendly. Music was to my taste but not played at a stupid level that you couldn't think. Would highly recommend if you want to try something different.

Sat outside on a glorious day and had a fabulously named Florence and the machine for brunch. In reality eggs florentine with hollandaise sauce......just gorgeous. My friend had the syn free breakfast which was a traditional english without all the fat. We both really enjoyed the food and as my friend lives in Gosport, I will be back!

Friendly staff and an excellent breakfast. The breakfast wasn't greasy and didn't leave me feeling bloated afterwards, food tasted fresh and well cooked.

Decent sized, pretty clean room we were in the Annex, even had small kitchen. Great location, close to beach Very Friendly staff, good breakfast But not so great sausage with the full english, bacon was lovely. The hotel was full due to Victorious festival which was why we were there.

The Anglesey Hotel, is what we call a perfect trap. In other words, great on paper and pictures, pretty bad in reality. We booked this place for the end of our two weeks trip through England during which we stayed in different Hotels, Inns or B&Bs every night. We naively believed that this was the perfect place to end our trip, oh boy were we surprised when we arrived. From unfriendly staff to check us in to unfriendly staff to check us out, without even asking us how our stay was. We conceded that they did not ask because they would know the answer, for it was as bad as it can be. The room was so small that there were not even nightstands for they would not fit next to the bed, that’s how small it was for two people, they took the word ‘standard’ to a next level I would say. Maybe there was a time this place looked nice but form the outside as much from the inside it was run down. The bathroom had only one tiny light working which was in itself holding on to dear life, causing it to be so dark that we couldn’t even put our contact lenses in the bathroom but rather had to go into the room itself. Not to mention the unbearable heat, and no fan in the room to help us through that uncomfortable night. We did ask for one and were told that “they have none left but they will try and see what they can do”. This obviously ended in them just waiting till they can go home and avoid us all together. I believe that they even tried hard to make the stay as uncomfortable as possible, and they did succeed. For the future even if somebody paid us to stay there we wouldn’t do it, needless to say how we regret every penny we have spent on this place, to leave it angry, tired and frustrated. To be avoided at all costs, the pictures are not reflecting the dump that this place is.

We recently photographed and attended a wedding at The Anglesey Hotel. A stones throw from the solent, the hotel benefits from a private function room as well as public bar, with the added benefit of gardens across the road for photo opportunities. The staff were friendly, the food was excellent, especially the mini bagels. If you are looking for an intimate venue to host your wedding this is an ideal venue.

Such a good hotel!! All staff are so friendly and the room was so nice!! Food was amazing. Had a great stay the cleaning staff was so lovely helped me when I was having dressing difficulties!! I would definitely stay again.

We were here for a wedding, staff were very friendly, lovely location,lovely setting for a wedding, food was also delicious.

As soon as we got in to the cafe, they were hovering around like flies. The staff were rude, especially the manager. The food was awful. How can you call a cheese sandwich with one piece of cheese which is apparently normal cheese and it was burger cheese, I asked for tomato and I got one slice of tomato cut in half for both sandwiches. The eggs were rubbery and overcooked, along with the sausages. The manager was extremely rude and to be honest I will definitely not be going in there again.

I just wanted to say, somebody teach them how to serve chicken curry with rice. I thought this food reheating with microwave same plate. Curry + toast bread + Fanta = £14,25 🙁 this food doesn’t worth it and no taste also. The main guy has black t-shirts, he has no happy today unfortunately😐, no welcome but lady gave good service.

Nice and clean and nice staff, that's where it ends I'm afraid! Spent over £60 for 4 of us. Food was terrible! Over £10 for a big breakfast and the ingredients were cheapest of the cheap! Maybe spend a bit less on expensive branded crockery and sugar sachets and a bit more on better quality ingredients. Tinned mushrooms, nasty cheap bacon and sausages and pepsi was flatter than flat. Sorry, but really poor show!

Absolute jobs worths that work here. Everyone is very rude and the customer service is appauling. Got served by a young blonde girl just now and never had service like it. What a rude and unprofessional person. Just got home after ordering 4 flaming wraps with hardly any lettuce and no flamming sauce. Wish I had said something whilst I was there but was trying to keep my cool. Terrible experience they all need to be sacked and get some actual adults working there not kids.

The food was alright, average for kfc but they forgot my mum’s chicken, and gave her a piece so cooked she could flick the skin and hear it, it was so dry. But what I wasn’t pleased with was a member of staff, I couldn’t see who it was but there was a woman shouting at staff- loudly. We could all hear her and she was being very rude to her colleagues. She also left to do something and as she approached the door to exit she leaned over the bin and spit her gum into it, it was disgusting. Overall I think she was extremely unprofessional and I am disappointed.

Ordered a wicked variety bucket takeaway (order 2044). Got home to find that my 10 pieces were 1 keel piece, 2 wings, 1 breast piece and 6 legs!!! Tried to call and complain. No reply on the phone. Very disappointed. I am consistently disappointed with this branch.

I don't know whether anyone else had my experience with Fareham KFC Drive through. Each time whenever I made my order, they is always something missing. Recently I started checking there itself and last 3 times I checked my order there itself and had to ask them for the missing item which was kept on the side desk.

Always great ordering from here. Normally through the app and delivered. But they rarely have mistakes on an order or cold food. Definitely recommend this one compared to the one down in Gosport

Self service tools to order food are easy to use. Food delivery quick and yummy to eat. Plenty of parking. Haven't used the drivethru option.

Staff are great coffee is good and the food good. But the moment we head into warm weather there are more flies that a zombie movie. Flocking around the grinding machine, crawling over the cups waiting to be used. They have one of the blue light things but it’s in the corner.

A dodgy coffee shop with serious hygiene problems 📌 I worked for a short time at this coffee shop a while ago while studying at university. They advertised “#1flex working” on one of the windows, which means anyone can work with them as a gig worker, but it turned out to be a horrible experience and discovered how this miserable coffee shop works. They hired for a front-of-house role, which includes customer interaction and food prep, but all my shifts were spent solely on heavy pot washing and lifting dish racks with no customer interaction or food prep. The shop treated it purely as manual labour. Despite the store manager suggesting I would move to full FoH duties, this never happened. That was misleading and exploitative. 1. Discrimination, prejudice, and questions about nationality! 🚩 On my first day the store manager (I won't name her) asked my nationality. There was no legal requirement, but it seemed to decide if I would be utilised in pot washing. She seems to think people from certain countries could be utilised as backbreaking labour. It didn't end there. The manager also hired baristas who were discriminatory and hostile. I won’t use the exact word to describe one of them. That man, often lurking behind the coffee machine and allowed to interact with customers despite poor manners, made humiliating remarks on me based on my nationality. Reporting it to the manager resulted in an immediate sugary, insincere apology without genuine remorse, and eventually she just let me go after that day because it was the easiest way out. Nightmare 2. Serious hygiene concerns! 🤢 It was surprising how little regard they give to hygiene during busy times. Staff including the manager were seen using dirty cups and blender jars. They have limited cups and jars, and when running out during rush times, they quietly grab dirty ones straight from dish piles still waiting to be cleaned by the dishwasher. Dirty coffee cups were quickly rinsed with tap water, and blender jars were dunked and rinsed in the same dirty standing water where coffee cups and cutlery had been pre-soaking in the blocked pot sink. Shockingly, a frappe was made in that same jar immediately after rinsing and they served it to a senior lady waiting at her table!!! The pot washing area is right next to the coffee machine and quickly accessible, with a slightly tall wall so customers can't see. Sales come before everything else, even if it compromises someone's hygiene. Flies often swarm on cups and other equipment because staff often take utensils out of the dishwasher halfway through the wash cycle, leaving them partially washed, and the shop doesn’t even have enough fly zappers. 3. Guilt-tripping customers ❗ The manager was seen emotionally manipulating a customer who left a negative review. When that customer returned, she approached the customer with her sickly sweet tone and said, “Oh dear, your review will affect the whole team,” subtly shifting blame for bad service or food onto the customer to make them feel guilty. That customer changed their honest review. She targets new and naive international students on gig contracts, misleading them into nonstop heavy pot washing and lifting heavy dish racks so they can focus on making more coffees to boost weekend sales. If they point this out or get exhausted, they are quickly replaced like disposable labor. Don’t trust the lady on the till. She is the store manager. She may seem friendly, but it is just a way to sell their coffees. This shop can be vindictive and unfortunately has my phone number, which I’ll consider changing soon, especially after this review. UPDATE ----------------> The shop mass-reported this review before, as they usually do with negative reviews. I noticed it in time and later had to repost it. Tampering with reviews is a major red flag. Avoid this shop!

Only been here twice and the first time was great; the food was lovely. This time, the service and cleanliness was lacking. None of the tables or trays had been wiped down so were quite gross. The glass I was given was filthy, as the server touched the rim of it with his sticky fingers and left something on the rim. My toasted teacake was overdone and burnt in most places. Such a shame as could have been a lovely visit.

Ordered a Carmel macchiato, no caramel on top. Server complained to me the customer that he’d ran out and would have to put bottle through dish washer before he could get more. He then put in the was for 15 seconds, filled up the bottle with caramel on top of dish washer water and put on coffee!!! Also very cold in the shop, not a cosy environment for a coffee and cake

Not sure how this place stays in business. It’s never open on time. The owner missed out on about 20 people wanting coffee this morning. It says it opens at 7am, but here it is quarter to 8am with a group of people standing outside wanting coffee.

My friend and I came here as a one off when our usual spot was closed and I must say, the food was delicious! Great sausage and fantastic smoked bacon. We were served by a lovely lady who was warm and welcoming. We will absolutely be back again soon.

I have used the Crew Mess weekly for years and always enjoy a great breakfast, served swiftly by Michelle at very fair prices. Hat's off to Michelle, who opens up seven days a week and keeps the Greasy Spoon cafe tradition alive. There are also healthy options for the more discerning. There is parking further up Mumby Road or parking is free for 1 hour in the Premier Marine marina carpark over the road (last time I checked). The review is entirely for selfish reasons; there's too few traditional English breakfast cafe's around these days :)

Just had supper from Frydays and it was excellent. Great taste, large portions, GREAT VALUE. Cannot recommend it to highly. Fantastic. I just wish we lived closer.

Went in last nite and ordered burger and chips burger came with plenty of salad and all fresh i have had these burgers before and always enjoy them the chips are always really nice and freshly cooked. The young lady who served us is always really friendly and polite and they even opened the restaurant so my partner could use the bathroom. We would recommend this place to anyone. Thanks to the staff on the service and friendlyness we will be back soon.

Online order via Frydays website. Food was hot, very tasty and with ample servings of chips. Plaice was massive and fried to perfection. My dining colleague said the battered sausage and fishcake were scrummy. Based on this experience I would recommend this restaurant.

Fantastic selection of beers on tap and fellow patrons are really friendly. The pub dog is particularly partial to a soft pat or two, 10/10 recommend. I don't think the publican likes people or is very introverted and thus 3/5 for service, but were not rude. This should not put you off visiting. They don't have food available but have snacks available, and lets face it, you are there for the beers.

Me and my old mate have gone there a few times on my visits to Gosport. This place is amazing. Beer is good and service is amazing. Laura (my birthday twin) is fabulous.

Arrived 21:33 on a Friday night. Place was full. Guy behind bar said they had called last orders so asked for some beer. Said had called last orders so I asked again for some beer. Same convo again… What he SHOULD have said was he had called TIME… 🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️ Absolutely bonkers that at 21:30 on a Friday, bar full, and about to turn everyone out. No way to run a business.

Fantastic little bar serving a great selection of cask & keg ales, ciders and with a few wild cards (Ironbru sour for example) thrown in from time to time. They have a small wine cellar and carry some craft gins, vodkas & selection rums. Shannon, Simon & Liz are fine hosts, always have time for a chat and share alot of knowledge about their products. Go with friends, go on your own, the clientel are a friendly bunch. Best bar in the town without a doubt, thanks! Oh, & looking forward to the opening of the LOST Bar in Lee soon!

Lovely atmosphere, staff and plenty of variety of beers

Nice and warm with very friendly bar staff and a good bunch of people in the pub had a very good couple of hours there, we will make sure that we visit again soon.

Came here today for lunch with my parents, mostly based on the name because I love foxes, and what a lovely pub it is! The landlord and landlady were so friendly and welcoming, the food was absolutely delicious with generous portions and excellent value for money! It has a really authentic pub feel, with a pool table, darts board and secluded outside dining/drinking area. Couldn't really ask for more and will definitely be back!

Been here a couple of times now. New owners who serve lovely food at good prices. I always loved the vibes at The Fox. Now it's clean, serving food and with a friendly welcome. I highly recommend a visit to this historic. proper pub

What a fantastic little pub. Finding this place made our weekend trip away. Phil and Bev run an amazing pub. There are not many true, traditional pubs around but this one is fantastic. We were made very welcome from first stepping in. Fabulous atmosphere. Clean. Fantastic pub food at very good prices. Watched Wales v Scotland Rugby match there with very friendly people and felt so much at home. Wish they would come run a pub like this near us. Cannot recommend this pub highly enough. Will definitely visit again if we are in the area in the future. Thank you for a fantastic time.

Went there for the shanty night, had a wonderful time. The staff were friendly and helpful, the food was tasty and very reasonably priced, and the atmosphere was second to none. You can really feel the historic nature of this ancient tavern, and everyone there is most welcoming.

Absolutely fantastic atmosphere, local lad with a midlands woman. Hospitality is unreal, my first night I felt like a local - never left out of anything. I cant express how lovely this pub is and it's tucked away from the new roads because of its old original location. We order from Orhans at least once a week and have never been disappointed. Weekdays is always hotter but understandable as weekends are busy. The chicken shish is fantastic and the garlic bread cheese pizza is a must! Thanks guys!

Been using Orhans for years now. Food is always great, never in 12 years have I had bad quality and honestly only a couple of times did I get wrong or miss food both times they moved heaven and earth to fix the issue. This is the kebab, pizza and burger takeaway of choice for the Brockhurst area. Oh and nope not on commission!

Surprisingly Good. If this place was in Portsmouth, I would visit it all the time. Can't say whether this is the best kebab in Gosport as I have not tried many others. But overall, I was surprised with the quality of the lamb shish and the chips. The burgers are just bog-standard though. Nothing to shout about there.

Apart from the kabab being nice and hot cooked properly, 3 out of 4 orders. Twice now there has been a hair in the Kabab. Once I probably would have let it go and did. but that's twice now and that's a real shame because the meals are pretty good quality! Another thing is the fact that I had ordered a chicken Donner and chicken shish. They phoned once the delivery driver was outside the door with a chicken shish and lamb donner because they didn't have chicken. We excepted the order but they should have phoned through first. Pretty poor service and a bit off putting regarding the hairs on two occasions.

Me and my hubby ordered ourselves a cheeky pizza yesterday evening and honestly I’ll never be returning to dominoes ever again! We shared a half and half pizza and it was lush. I personally had a margarita ( boring I know 🤣 ) and my hubs had a meat feast type thing but he was thrilled with it. It was very very warm when it arrived and dips were included which was really lovely! I’d also like to say the delivery driver was very lovely and efficient in getting us our order. Safe to say I will be ordering from here again and I highly recommend for anyone wanting a cheeky takeaway 🤣😊

After waiting a long time for my order from Pizza Hut, I tried to check the order status in the JustEat app. Unfortunately, I must have pressed the "Delivered" button by mistake, even though I hadn’t received my food. I immediately called Pizza Hut Gosport to explain what had happened and informed them that my order still hadn’t arrived, even though more than an hour had passed since I placed it. I was told to wait another 10–15 minutes, as the courier would definitely deliver it. However, the courier never arrived. By this point, my children had been waiting for 1.5 hours, were very hungry, and understandably became upset. I called again to Pizza Hut Gosport and I can't say that they new what should be done but at the and I was told that they would remake my order if I could collect it myself within half an hour. This wasn’t easy, as my child was already upset and hungry, but I managed and went to pick it up. However, when I arrived, I was informed that the manager had instructed the staff to tell me that I needed to contact Just Eat to resolve the issue. I had no choice but to quickly go elsewhere, order another pizza, and pay again. This was not easy, as everyone had already been waiting more than two hours for food. It was a very disappointing and stressful experience—something any parent of a 7-year-old would understand. As a customer, I’ve learned that if I want to avoid losing £38 and keep my children happy, I cannot rely on Pizza Hut Gosport.

Absolutely loved the experience. It was my first time here, and i loved walking in to a welcoming atmosphere. I adore the staff for being attentive and friendly. the wait time was short. Loved how clean, tidy and organised it was. The pizza was heavenly, thanks so much. Overall, would recommend to all who want a positive and enjoyable eating experience. Very pleasant lunch here today with some traditional British grub. Lovely young lady who served me was kind and asked how my meal was. For £6 you get chips, sausages, beans, bread and butter and a mug of the queens finest. New to the area and I’ll be returning here soon.

Placed order and man was really rude on phone and then delivery man was even ruder after asking him is this right order he tutted walked off ,,,, we ordered a large combination kebab chick shish and koftee ,,, with salad as we were going to share it three small pieces of chicken and as for koftee seen bigger sausages lol and salad small portion in corner for £10 and if that was large hate to see small won't be buying from there again deffo going to stick with are usual shop from now on atleast you get a decent size and worth the money

I got food poisoning from the Donna meat burger, I've sat up all night with my stomach being in agony, I've been sweating out, been on that toilet being sick and #2 to the point I called an ambulance out...this is the only thing I've ate what's been dodgy and I'm 1000% sure it's because of that burger/meat products

Ordered after a very nice evening in! Ordered a quarter pounder and an inch garlic bread with cheese what can go wrong? Well I’ll tell you what it was disgusting the garlic bread with as thin as a folded 5 pound note and the burger with as tough as my nans old toe nail… I’m a lover of burgers and never fail to finish one of even the biggest of ones but this was absolutely disgusting and will not be ordering again

Coffee was awful, from 'vending' machine, breakfast included eggs that we think were powdered and was awful, my husband experienced unhelpful service at counter, to extent it seemed the staff member was annoyed that he was asking for help. Definitely not visit again

I am quite often visitor in store, and from time to time at cafe. No matter how many times I've been served, nothing ever went wrong. Every type of food I've ordered was tasty, the limitless hot drinks once you buy your first hot drink is a plus. Also very affordable prices, good offers for kids, as well Morrison is only cafe that actually pictures on menu represents what actually they gonna serve you.

This cafe is good. They cater for some dietary restrictions and being Morrisons their prices are not bad. The shop is on one level (ground floor) and is easy to get round even on a mobility scooter. If you need help just ask. The staff are very friendly and helpful

Lovely little fish and chips place. The fish was extra large (as seen in the photos) and to die for. The chips were among the best. We had with the curry sauce, thicker and yummier than most. We also tried the fish cake (homemade but no pictures), and they were yummy! It is located next to a park and playground. So you can bring your kids, eat and then play. Recommended place to have some fish and chips!

The best chippy in Gosport. Everything was cooked fresh. The fish was an amazing portion so crispy on the outside. The curry sauce is also a must. Absolutely disgusting. No idea how to make a kebab, just slice the face of the pitta, pile everything on top and throw loads of sauce and grease all over it, despite me even putting in the notes to cut the edge and put the fillings INSIDE the pitta, as a kebab is meant to be! Chicken Sheesh was raw and tasteless. Garlic bread was a cheese pizza that tasted nothing like garlic. 'dutch' chips were just refried chips smothered with BBQ sauce and hidden under a mountain of onions, completely inedible. Genuinely never been more disappointed with food in my life. I wouldn't eat from here again if I was homeless and it was for free 🤢🤢🤢

Following from a colleague that used to work there.Recently. The food was in its bag hydrated. Dripping in sweat The only thing that was good was the garlic bed with cheese was 2 and a 1 hours late. He was apologised, and is caught on doorbell. Camera at the bottom of he then goes on to say as they phoned them to this evening to be ignorant and cut off the phone call, never order from them again phone them up this evening.He hung up and declared the food was very hot, wasn't.It was sweating in the bag and turned up with a child, which is also caught on the footage from the number door on the bottom lander.On doorbell ring camera very rude.Individual never order them again.And I am going to trading standards.Asking them for a full refund

Being buying from KK for years - there used to be a Barclays Bank here. The food was always good, beautifully char grilled - that special taste complemented with a fresh crisp salad BUT it's changed hands now and I'm sorry but it's gone way way down hill. Chicken was under cooked & tasteless. There was no crisps lettuce just soggy cucumber & huge bits of onion. Watched food handled - won't go there other than the day there was wiping on clothing, no washing etc. And the price has gone up. Definitely will NOT be back ever again. Very disappointed.

The smallest "XL" kebab in the world. Charged £19.99 for about 8 pieces of small, dry as the desert meat and absolutely no salad, even though we asked for salad. Chips were old, cold and wrinkly. The WORST kebab we've ever ordered. Never ever again!!!

I have ordered from this place in the past and the food was always nice, never really had any problems, however I was looking to order from here when i noticed a SMALL chicken shish kebab is now £13, so I will not be ordering from you again, I am really curious as to how you come to such a price...is the chicken fed gold flakes? Because otherwise I cannot understand why you are charging such prices, its pure theft.

I've been ordering deliveries from Istanbul grill for the last 9 years with no problems at all but I can only imagine this takeaway has recently changed ownership or management. My last 3 deliveries have been accompanied by a nasty 9" pizza that I didn't order & all of which have been thrown away, The food used to be very good but now they must have a different & cheaper supplier and nothing is as it was and your Curry sauce was semi solid & inedible. Certainly no longer value for money So this evening will be my last order from them especially when the delivery driver phoned me to tell me he couldn't find the main entrance and he was at the back gate and it was locked,,, Really? I usually tip the driver but this time I gave him the free Pizza instead. Without satisfied customers you will fail to exist.

Just ordered and taken home 2 Reg cods, 6 chicken nuggets and a large portion of chips for £21.15 after standing in the high street and seeing the 2 chippys open. After looking at reviews I chose this shop based on the slightly higher reviews. I didn’t wait too long for the food and the service was ok. However I was handed 4 boxes without a bag. Little did I know all the food was swimming in grease in the boxes which saturated my daughter’s trousers on the way home. I’ve had to fairy liquid the two giant grease circles on each leg where the grease has run out the boxes on to her lap. Hoping that being quick and putting them in the wash will save them. The cod was lovely and cooked well but the batter was thick, the most greasy and soggy batter I’ve ever had (see the below photo of a complete box full of the batter off the 2 cod’s). Completely inedible- the chips were mediocre at best- very soggy, wafer thin and just not particularly enjoyable the chicken nuggets were reconstituted chicken bodies. Not breast chunks or like anything we’ve had from other shops. Completely disappointing and totally not worth the drive or money. Such a shame. Sadly I will not visit this place again and anyone wondering which shop to visit. Honestly I wouldn’t know as not tried Karen’s but will most definitely try them next time and hope the experience will be much better.

I know a good fish when I see one and with smarts fish bar it is what you get,absolutely superb...the quality of the fish aswell as the chips it's absolutely to die for,really amazing.... The very few actual edible chips (among the mass of grey and wafer thin dry slivers of what were once pieces of potatoes) were stone cold and not entirely fully cooked so really not very enjoyable at all. However, the fish was delicious and the batter was just perfect so this was definitely a meal of two-halves. This was my first visit to this chippy and sadly, no matter how good the fish itself was, the chips have ensured it will also be my last.

A large bag of chips for lunch after a 9 mile walk. Tasted ridiculously decadent. I haven't had take away chips for as long as I remember. After this I'm questioning myself sanity...why!! Just wish the happy smiley server was heavy handed on the salt and vinegar!

Queued for about 45 minutes for regular and large fish and chips. Husbands large was ok, but I fear they forgot to put the fish in my batter!! I have never seen such a thin piece of fish it was awful. My box just contained batter and chips. I suppose I could have complained but couldn't be bothered to queue again. I will not be returning.

Went to smarts last night my partner had ordered fish n chips with curry sauce and I ordered pie n chips. When I got home there was no chips with my pie and the fish was greasy the chips weren't hot enough, plus it was like the staff didn't know what they doing

Ordered fish and chips, chips have no salt or vinegar at all, fish had too much batter on it and had barely any cod, chips also looked very dull and were soft, overall the meal was very greasy, hardly worth enjoying and just looked sad in general.

Fantastic fish n chips! We ordered a large cod and it was huge - the fish tasted so fresh and the batter was crunchy and chips really hot - perfect in every way. Best of all was eating it on a bench watching the sun go down over the sea

An excellent chippy, had the best battered sausage in there, tempura style batter I think! Kids loved the chips (no salt) and I thought the free lunch tea or coffee is a brilliant idea!

We are frequent customers of Lee On Solent Chip Shop and love the varied menu from Mackerel Baps to Cod Meal in a box. Sadly, the prices are rising and we have to cut back our visits now. My £1.80 cost item last year now costs £2.30. Over 25% increase which stings the pocket of us who have to watch the pennies. The staff are always friendly and polite and service is quick. There is also seating available to wait while your order is being prepared. Only downside is that sometimes items don't appear to be cooked sufficiently.....chips still slightly hard and batter not fully cooked, but with such lovely service and varied menu - we are happy to take our chances!

We drive from Fareham for the fish and chips here as they are always so good. This evening I cannot say the same. A combination of half-cooked chips and battered cod so overcooked it was more like jerky. I hope this was just a blip.

Food from here was nice and reasonably priced. I got a XL Lamb Döner for £11, which came with meat, salad, and sauce. For XL it was as expected, and just about fed 2 adults. I wish I had picked the option with chips, but missed it due to how many options there were (not a bad thing!). Service was a little slow as we waited over 10 minutes with others coming after use and served before. Garlic mayo did NOT have milk in it which was very good as in most places it does. Very nice, would return again if I was in Lee.

Best kebab house I've ever been to. I would recommend it to everyone. The staff are really friendly and nice, the interior is very modern and clean the design is simple and I love it. One of my favourite meals there is the messy burger i get it regularly. I'm never going to another kebab house anywhere else. It's amazing.

Food took a hour and half. Pizza was cold and tasted like cardboard.salad was nice. Chips was ok but for pizza and chips and a bit of salad cost £26 pound ish with no flavour. Could have had a nice Indian for that price with flavour.

People here are very very rude. Don’t know how to to speak to customers. They make orders wrong and when we complain they say always complain from your side. Staff has rude attitude towards customers. Honestly had the worst experience with them.

I ordered a mushroom burger with chips (salt only) and I got some monstrosity of a hamburger with kebab meat in it! (very foul and disgusting). Also the chips were burnt and salt free. Of course I drove it all home before I noticed. I won't go back, but if you do make sure you check before leaving. The shop wasn't busy; I guess they had no mushrooms and just didn't give a damn. Best avoided.

Great food. I'm not here often, so I can't compare now to the previous management. The staff were polite and cheerful and managed to cater to our table of 8 at a very busy lunchtime. The food looked and tasted great. Good value, too. Nothing fancy, good, honest food. Nice hot drinks, too. The only reason I deducted a star is because the toilet door is a nightmare to open and close due to water damage, and the front door slams, which shakes the whole wall of windows. Sort those, and it's a 5 star...

Jim has been feeding us for 35 years, and the standard of his fish and chips,AND burgers in batter has always been, in our opinion, absolutely superb!. Jim is always happy to do what you want, and he saved my life when I came out hospital last October, as I hadn't eaten for 10 days, and we went straight to Mikes so that Jim could do me a battered burger, as I was starving!!!. I now have one once a week, without fail, and we always have a small cod in batter for our 2 Border Collies, and a large cid for my Wife!!!. I just hope that Jim lives as long as I do, because I wouldn't be able to find another burger as good as Jim's!.Looking forward to seeing you next Saturday, Jim!. Barry and Pat, and the dogs!.

Horrible experience. As a vegetarian I ordered the veggie breakfast. When bit into sub, I got a mouthful of bacon and sausage. Tried phoning restaurant 3 times and ignored each time.

Most miserable subway experience, the lady serving was terrible , too busy having a face time with her friend in a foreign language , then made me the most pathetic foot long ever , cut rations on all ingredients counted 4 bits of sweetcorn then drowned it in dance sauce. Absolutely diabolical

Free cookie was great but come on I ordered a specific item of the online menu, the bacon and sausage sub WITHOUT the egg, because it's terrible, yet it's like the 3rd time they sent it with the egg inside, it ruin the flavour of the whole thing even when I remove it, so I would like to know how you give me the item that has the add item when ordering there is literally 2 options and I pick the one without the egg yet get sent the one with the egg, like what if I was allergic to it!!!

Subway vouchers not accepted! Charged £3.38 for a refill drink. Was served by an Asian guy and he did not want to put enough salad as requested. Each time had to ask to add more. Paid £17 for two sandwiches and had to ask for a fillings 4 times. Never come a cross such a stinge approach. I'll post this on google to let others know.

Unwelcoming and unfriendly staff; it would appear some have a poor grasp of the English language. Poor to average attempt at building a sandwich. Had to ask for a bag and ask for napkins. I was literally the only customer in the shop so I don’t quite understand how/why the service could’ve been so poor.

My experience was traumatic I was with my friend on a lovely British day out and we decided to get some munchie at our local subway. First of all none of the staff understood me and gave me a 12 inch although I ordered a 6inch and ignored me and my friend when we tried to correct him. And then to make it even worse there card machine didn’t accept my friends card even though we just used it. We also didn’t get the choice of the salad bar. the staff were altogether rude, unhelpful and dumb. I will NEVER step foot in there again and after all our struggles I was left with a dry crusty sandwich which was not one bit enjoyable!

Excellent, near beech, clean and bright subway. Update: recently really slow. Was 5 star now less. Disappointing

Incapable of ever sending the correct order. Sent me 2 double cheeseburgers that weren’t plain like I ordered. Sent a cheeseburger I didn’t ask for and didn’t send the halloumi fries or the large fries I ordered. Paid £20 for only 1 of my correct items to turn up. The place is a joke.

Plastic packaging in my wrap. Edit: tried going back few later days and they wouldn't eveb let me in because they were "too busy". Could see a total of four people through the windows. Incredible how bad this place is.

Ordered a flatbread breakfast all I can say is don’t order this!!! Arrived at 7 and I’m still chewing it at 8.20 it is so dry!! Worst thing is they got my drink wrong aswell! I honestly don’t think I’ll get through this flatbread today… I’ll update you tomorrow..

After a very long wait disappointed to arrive home and find my 5 chicken selects meal only has 3 ? Side salad interesting too loads of lettuce and one peice of tomato and one of cucumber ..

Drive thru took 30 minutes for a standard fillet o fish meal. Half 2 in the morning, 2 other cars in queue, in-store dining shut so we were their only customers. Curious as to why, the service time is consistently slow regardless of busy day time or dead quiet night time. Hope to find out the root cause and aid the store's performance.

Been fishing on Millennium pier in Gosport started to get late so thought we'd stop off to get something to eat. Ordered from the screen in store, wanted to eat in but didn't realised that they shut upstairs at 9pm. Couldn't see our order on the serving screens. Seems a member of staff took it upstairs even though we couldn't get there! Then I wanted Tomato sauce no one about near the serving area lucky was able to find a member who helped. I guess given that we were crammed into the small ground floor area with limited table space the atmosphere wasn't great.

If I could give less than one star I would. They get orders wrong here over and over again, regardless of if you collect or get delivery. We’ve let it slide so many times, and thought we’d try one last time. Order was almost completely wrong. Freezer cold. No fries with any of the meals despite them not running out of fries. Called manager. He said it’s utterly embarrassing they could get it so wrong this time, but there’s nothing he could do. Told me to contact just eats. I tired contacting them. It sent me to a screen to chat about my problem to AI. They said we are sorry to see there’s a problem with McDonalds. Asked me to pay a PayPal fee of £1 refundable to soeak to an advisor. Luckily I had my PayPal notifications on, as they immediately took £35 out of my account and set up a “subscription” of £35 to answer a bloody question?!?!! Absolutely disgusting from all involved. I and my family will never eat at McDonalds again and never use just eats either. Scammers and crooks the lot of them!!!

First visit and definitely the last!! As others have said small portions, cod was over cooked and tasteless, more batter than fish only had 1 mouthfall as that bad. Scampi cold and over cooked looked like Iceland scampi mainly batter. Chips looked like yesterday’s chips, left in oil overnight and re-heated!!! Waste of money as going in the bin

If I could leave zero stars I would. Order £56.00 worth of food as I had family up. The portion sizes wouldn't even feed a child I was shocked , disappointed and disgusted. The Savaloys were hard and cold. The fish had a pink tinge to it and tasted strange. It was not edible at all. On phoning the shop I got a very rude man basically telling me tough. I offered to take it back round and he just kept saying no it's wasn't his problem and calling me darling. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY !!!!!!!

Thought I'd try this fish and chip shop and I'm glad I did, large chips, regular cod, large jumbo battered sausage and small battered sausage filled a family if 3. Food was cooked fresh to order. And in a timely manor, the gent behind the counter was happy and chatty. Overall a good experience, would use again.

The chips are insipid, they were cold and dried out, this made them greasy and inedible. Definitely not fresh!!! The 'large' cod was definitely not large and was overcooked. A total waste of money.

Excellent fish and chips cooked just right and a good price. Very friendly and genuine welcome. Will definitely be coming back.

Nice atmosphere the staff were very friendly unfortunately the food didn't really meet the same standards, the large cod was very small and had an odd taste, the chips were really under cooked, and I mean really to the point we had to put them in the oven to finish off cooking them , and the battered sausages were full of gristle, 3 stars only because the staff were pleasant, but they definitely need to work on the food, I'll stick to the Alverstoke chippy from now on ,now they now how to do fish and chips

A great local fish and chip shop. Boris, the owner is a very welcoming man.. Great food and A professionally run business! This business is keeping British fish and chips on the map 👌🏻👌🏻
