Absolutely Exceptional – A Culinary Gem! Everything about this restaurant is top-tier. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the service attentive without being intrusive, and the food - simply unforgettable. Every course was beautifully plated and delicious, but the beef Wellington alone is worth a special trip. If you’re looking for a standout dining experience, look no further. This place is a must-visit.

I have never had a meal here that feel even slightly short of excellent. The service is attentive without being pushy or overbearing and the food is a delight. The three course is excellent value and doesn’t scrimp on size, taste or ingredients. The A la Carte menu is incredible, I’ve had the best pace of beef that I’ve ever eaten in my life here.

We stayed 2 nights here at the end of a family holiday & it was lovely! Food fab, great cocktails & we especially enjoyed the Wednesday Fish menu which was superb! The top floor room was great but be aware there’s no lift up the three floors. Room had everything we needed & was very comfortable & very clean. Location is right in middle of town with access to lots of shops & restaurants. Staff greeted us warmly & were professional but friendly.

I had an exceptional dinner at The Purchases earlier this week. After a long, draining day, I walked in running on fumes—but was treated with warmth, professionalism, and just the right amount of indulgence. The service made me feel like a valued guest—if not quite royalty, then at least someone worth slowing down for. The Food? Immaculate. The Atmosphere? Spot on. I even left my coat in the cloakroom and came back the next day to collect it with zero hassle. Classy from start to finish.

Arrived here after a long trip on the train from London with a tired dog and a hungry belly. Trinity and Charlotte were absolutely fantastic. They found me a fantastic spot for my tired dog, brought him water and me an espresso martini!!! I enjoyed the three course meal and the food is excellent quality. Charlotte is impeccably attentive of all of the customers and is a huge asset. I am so grateful to have found such an amazing oasis of calm and class in Chichester

Haven’t been back here since covid and it was surprisingly good. Set lunch is very good value as well. We had soup and salmon for starters, and chicken and trout for main courses. All were very tasty. Staff were attentive and more than helpful. Great to see local business doing well. Keep it up!

I always used to recommend Purchases to friends and family, as it was always a delight. Shame it takes one event/occasion for it to be spoiled. It seems like they should carry on focusing on the food & drink instead of creating events within the restaurant. I understand in this current climate you’ve got to do anything within your means to get a bit of extra cash but it then should be managed properly. I got tickets for the summer BBQ event in July, it was very poorly managed and our table of 8 had to be sat inside even though this was advertised as an outdoor event and we had already pre booked tickets for. Us and one smaller table of 4/5 were the only ones who were inside, yet we didn’t even get an apology on the day. I’ve since spoken to them via email and they are just out there for themselves and couldn’t care less about loyalty. I’ve had the typical ‘sorry you feel that way’ email which is disrespectful in itself. Everyone else was sat outside in the sun enjoying the ambience and music yet all we could see was the back of a DJ’s head and later on in the day the back of a violinist. They didn’t do anything to put this right, we were the ones who had to reach out 30mins before the end to see if we could now move outside as a table had freed up. I’m just really disappointed in the restaurant as I thought better of it.

After visiting Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons last year we thought we would give Brasserie Blanc a try. We were impressed, great lunchtime menu, attentive staff and special offers too - in our case free wine ! Very good on gluten free requirements - chef came to check with me on some of the ingredients.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at the Chichester branch for an anniversary dinner, we had a Virgin Experience voucher, and I must say, it was an incredible evening! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm welcome from the friendly and attentive staff, making us feel right at home. Even though we had a set menu, there was still plenty of choice, and each dish was absolutely sensational. The flavors were delightful, and it was clear that a lot of thought and care went into each plate. A huge thank you to the entire kitchen team and the front-of-house staff for providing such a fabulous experience. I can't wait to return and enjoy another wonderful meal!

Quite nice food, the menu has options that I think will appeal to many people. The service was fine. It was very quiet when we visited at 7pm on a Week day. They do quite good offers so worth signing up

Was here around seven weeks ago and had a good experience however not so this time. The brasserie was not busy yet the two serving staff seemed to struggle. It was difficult to get their attention and service was slow, very slow. When staff were at the table, they were polite and friendly. We had drinks vouchers but the drinks on offer were not available, we were offered house wine instead. Not quite the same. Four of our party of six chose main courses on the menu that had alternatives. Pine nut & lemon ricotta ravioli was replaced with aubergine. The rhubarb crumble dessert was served with a thimbleful of custard. Given the price of the food and drinks, Brasserie Blanc needs to do much better!

We were extremely well looked after by your welcoming staff. The food was delicious and very well presented. The wine was delightful and well chilled. We will be recommending Brasserie Blanc to all our friends and family.

We booked a table here as we were going to Chichester and a friend recommended it. to be honest the food was pretty disappointing, almost poor. It wasn't absolutely terrible but it was quite expensive so they should have been able to produce something better. for example I had the sea bream as a main and it was pretty uncooked on the skin side which should probably have been crispy but on the flesh side it was completely overcooked, burnt and all of the fish was like rubber really. my wife and I both had starters and main courses off the a la carte menu and it was all quite underwhelming. so we skipped dessert and the total bill was about £100. We normally go to the ivy down the road and it's not a lot more expensive so I guess we will be returning to the devil we know in future. also, this restaurant doesn't take cash and I'm always looking to offload some cash whereas The Ivy is happy to take any payment that is available.

I had a great time here, the Escargot was incredible, I will definitely be ordering that again!

I've not been in this pub in years, but glad it's re-opened. I popped in and had a pint and found the decor pleasant as was the service. I will go back for dinner soon. The London Pride beer was a little off, perhaps old? But still enjoyable.

The pub is under new management, and being refurbished, so i visited before the official relaunch. It is tastefully decorated, with a nice outside terrace. The staff were friendly, the food is good and reasonably priced, and they had a guest real ale. It is a permit parking street, but there is a council car park nearby.

We had roast dinner today. The beef, chicken and gammon were excellent. The kale was just right. The potatoes and parsnips were a little overcooked, the carrots too! Yorkshire pudding huge, gravy was yum. Eton mess was nice. Drinks good. Service good. Mens toilet needed attention.

Popped in for a spot of lunch as we heard it now has new owners. I feel sorry for the hospitality industry over the last couple of years as they have been hit very hard by the total greed and mismanagement of government. It must be a really tough business to be in... That all said, the new owners are off to a fantastic start with some amazing food and great prices! Highly recommend you pop in and give it a go! 😋

New management.. avoid!! Booking system doesn’t even work . we turned up and no booking system in place .. no idea who I was or what my booking was.. got put in the bar.. awful table near the door. Along with another un satisfied table. Obviously I’m not going to be too happy but when we tried to say anything we got cut down and aggressively told we can leave if we don’t like it. Manager is now a 17 year old looking guy old who is not interested or experienced in managing customer relations.. just immature and back chatty. Such a waste of what use to be a great pub!!

Review is for the food and drinks: the pub is bright and has a nice atmosphere for dining. There's a reasonable range of drinks on tap. I tried the nut roast - the menu states that all other roasts are served with yorshire puddings, but the nut roast isn't as they're not vegan. When the food was brought to the table there was a yorkshire pudding on the plate so I asked the server and she said it was vegan. I then asked another member of staff who checked with the chef and confirmed that it was not suitable for vegans. The server who said it was vegan did not bother to apologise. The roasted vegetables were slightly under cooked too so I wouldn't eat here again.

Great service and pub food! We had plenty of Gluten Free Options to choose from including battered fish and chips! The service from Jerry was exceptional! Would highly recommend.

Food is absolutely incredible, one of our absolute favourite places to eat. Staff go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and give you the best possible experience (one literally dashed out to get more frozen strawberries because they had run out and I had been drinking strawberry daiquiris) Cannot recommend enough.

Nice meal at Rein Kitchen. The food was deliciously authentic and the staff were very friendly. Only slight downside were the drinks ; my eldest daughter ordered a Turkish yoghurt and she quotes ‘it tastes like salty milk!’ My younger daughter ordered a fruit juice, it was a mix of all sorts of sweeteners with no actual juice. The atmosphere of the restaurant was relatively warm, if not a bit quiet for a normal lunchtime. Will recommend to friends though.

Despite the restaurant being almost empty, we felt really rushed by the over attentive waiters. The shared hot mezzi starter was very good. When the main course arrived, the meat was very good, but sadly the salads had clearly been prepared well in advance and had started to discolour and curl at the edges .

Went there for an 8pm booking. Was told the table wasn’t ready as the people before us didn’t want to leave (a lie), and that someone would be able to give us some drinks whilst we wait (another lie). At 8.15, still no drink order, and no one looking like leaving there table any time soon. Finally someone took our drink order at 20 past. By half 8, no drinks, no one looking like leaving, so asked the manageress again where the table would be. She shrugged and didn’t know what to say. So overall not great at all

Hands down one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. We visited for my partners 30th birthday and were the only people in the restaurant, yet the waiter ignored us and sat on his phone instead of serving customers. We had to flag him down just to get drinks, and when the food finally arrived, it was wrong. Nobody checked if it was okay, and when we raised how bad the experience was, the manager clearly didn’t care. To make it even worse, they didn’t even want to remove the service charge — despite the fact there was absolutely no service to speak of. If this is how they treat the only table in the place, I can’t imagine how dreadful it would be if they were actually busy. Total waste of time and money.

We recently ordered a large takeaway for a birthday celebration, about which I spoke to the manager in advance. He was extremely friendly, flexible and professional, and, on the day, the food was ready on time, beautifully fresh and incredibly tasty – everyone in our party thought so too! We were very grateful to Hamdi and his team for helping us make the evening special, and will definitely be back for more of Reina Kitchen's delicious food soon. To finish it all off, the baklava was absolutely fantastic! Thank you :-)

Completed a perfect day. Steak tartare was deliciously (started eating before photographed!), as was the barbecued meat with freshly prepared salads (didn't photograph as we were too eager to attack our plates)! The rhubarb, hibiscus and gin parfait with lemon sorbet was the best dessert I have had in a long time. We chanced upon this restaurant after a day at Goodwoof and so pleased we did. Thank you for making us and our two dogs so welcome.

Another fabulous meal at Farmer, Butcher, Chef. Our first time for an evening meal, and for a special birthday occasion. Lots of special little touches, and oh the cheese selection is stupendous, with a little bit of theatre.

I am so pleased that we chose to eat at Farmer Butcher Chef. We went there 1 year ago and it was great, but today was outstanding and was told that Ollie is now the top chef. We have eaten in some top places worldwide and we found the food to exceptional. All the food was perfectly seasoned and cooked with thought and passion. All the staff were absolutely lovely and the ambience was relaxing. I would totally recommend this restaurant.

As it was a beautiful day opted to sit in the outdoor terrace, thinking it was an award winning restaurant would have expected the seating to be more comfortable and luxurious. Small metal folding chairs with large cushions that spent more time on the floor rather than behind us. Food very tasty flavoursome and well presented we were a table of 4. Opted for the upgrade to butchers blocks highly recommended the beef, lamb and pork were amazingly presented and all very succulent and cooked to perfection. Service was a little slow considering the few people with some confusion over tables. Ordered water sparkling and tap never offered ice or wedges of lemon / lime had to request. I would go back for the food and would hope the seating and service would improve.

I have been to this restaurant so many times and never realised I had not done a review. I think the fact that I have been so many times over many years tells you it's own story. The food is fantastic there is also a great selection of wines and they also make some fab cocktails. The staff are brilliant and so friendly they are there when you need them but do not fuss around you which makes for a perfect balance all set in a lovely restaurant. Totally recommend especially if your a meat lover. See you soon.

Terrible experience at lunch today. Service was poor, the staff were more interested in talking to each other and hiding out of the way of guests. The food was terrible. We paid a supplement for the BBQ board of beef, lamb and pork and I wish I’d thought to take a photo. It was laughable. 3 tiny dry bits of meat were served on a saucer sized metal plate and should have served 2 people. The sides were also terrible, a poor cold potato salad, a dish of pickled cabbage and a few tomato’s. Lazy staff and poor quality food. Needless to say they have lost our cusrom and we won’t go back.

Had dinner here and was very happy with everything. I had the prawns and the lamb and garlic bread with cheese. Everything was delicious and the staff couldn’t be more helpful and friendly. It’s a real hidden gem and worth a visit.

Great Spanish experience, with quality Tapas, lovely staff, even practising a little Spanish with the lovely lady from the Canaries who served us to make the entire experience extremely pleasant.. Nice atmosphere in the cellar and will be coming back again

What a find. It's slightly hidden away off the main street, but if you drive in beside the blue building, there is parking, and you are right at the door. They have a lovely outdoor dining area, too. The staff are very friendly, attentive and deliver great service. The food is amazing, so fresh and great quality ingredients. I ordered from the tapas menu, and I enjoyed everything. I would highly recommend getting the garlic bread with cheese with the gambas pil pil. The sauce is the best I've even had, and I couldn't stop dipping my garlic bread into the sauce 😋. The gambas palomitas was the highlight. Everything was delicious. I can't wait to go back and try some other dishes. The place is beautifully decorated and great for a group or romantic meal. A hidden gem you have to try.

Lovely atmosphere, yummy food, good portion sizes, great service. Perfect place to go for date night, or with family. Didn't have a dessert but had a Chocolate Martini and I recommend trying it as it was absolutely delicious. Can't wait to visit again.

We were blown away by the quality, presentation and taste of the food. The table service was excellent and the décor made us feel like we were on holiday, especially since we sat outside on a sunny day. It’s less busy early on a weekend evening, so you’ll have a lovely quiet dinner.

We stopped off for breakfast last Sunday morning and it was delicious. The service was phenomenal. The full English was amazing, my son got the omelet which he loved and my buddy got the Mediterranean breakfast. All of us gave it 10 out of 10.

I don't understand why no one mentioned that you have to wait for half an hour for an English breakfast when the kitchen is fully staffed. I can see every table has been bored of waiting for their food after finishing the drinks served initially. Waitress didn't give heads up or apologies at all. Extremely slow service and average-quality food. Nice place and setup though. Ordered English breakfast and eggs royale.

Had a great meal at The Fat Fig recently. The service was quick and efficient, and the food was really lovely—full of flavour and nicely presented. It does get quite busy, and it was pretty humid inside, which made it a bit uncomfortable at times. Overall though, a solid spot for a good meal—worth checking out if you're in the area.

We came for brunch. Great atmosphere with big open windows keeping the restaurant cool and fresh. The staff were excellent and smiley giving us enough time to choose what we wanted. Quite affordable and everything was presented very well. Looking over at other tables we saw the food and drinks we will order for next time we come. Great experience for brunch!

Found this little gem in town, went in for breakfast last weekend and was delighted with everything. The place was spotless, even looking up at the ceiling lights and corners were clean and no cobwebs, the staff were friendly and bustling around anyone that came in getting them seated and welcomed. Breakfast came in no time at all and everything we ordered was great 5 star all the way. Definitely be going back soon.

Really good food at a reasonable price. Lots of parking alongside road and has 2 picnic benches to eat at. No toilets as is just alongside the road.

Fantastic food! If you want somewhere that is more than just the usual burgers and sausages etc from a burger van. The choice is amazing, I've had both the cuban sandwich and the burger of the month that I'd give both 5/5. Plus you can use cards which is always helpful. Highly recommend.

On my last visit I was left with a fantastic impression and thoroughly enjoyed the meal and atmosphere, this time, however, things are a little different. We went for a birthday celebration and while the food was good (the goats cheese starter was amazing and the tomahawk was pretty good too), the service was slow and food was missed. We asked for some spinach to go with the main course (admittedly after the food was dropped at the table, but only just after) and it hadn't arrived by the time we finished eating, so we cancelled it - spinach really doesn't take 30+ mins to cook. That might have been ok if it was a 1 off, but for dessert we ordered a liqueur coffee and 2 scoops of sorbet. Same thing again, coffee arrived and was after slowly drunk - no sign of the sorbet. It's a shame, because this is a nice place with good food and good views, but my lasting impression is now one of poor service, especially as it was more than £70 per head.

This is a gem of a place. Beautiful pub and lovely setting with a great choice of fresh seafood and plenty of outdoor seating. Service was good and we had a lovely lunch here. Gets v busy though- got here just before 12 noon on a Sunday and the car park was full! There’s parking down the road though. Would definitely visit again.

Had an incredible meal at The Crown & Anchor a few weeks ago – one of the best pub dining experiences I’ve had. The surf & turf was absolutely spot on. The steak was perfect, juicy, and flavourful while the prawns on top were super fresh. Served alongside crisp broccolini and a rich, savory sauce that tied everything together. The atmosphere in the pub was warm and inviting, with great service to match. Ideal spot for a cozy dinner or a special meal out with friends. Highly recommended – will definitely be back!

A recommendation from a relative who used to frequent, and it did not disappoint! We had a fantastic table situated next to the kitchen, with a lovely backdrop. The service was excellent, and the food even better! I would highly recommend the Devon crab linguine. We will definitely return in the future.

Wow - what a gem! Perfect location with stunning views. Outdoor seating area with excellent food and drink options. We booked a table for 10 people and sat inside - the service was exceptional. Food incredible! Oysters, fresh fish hake, lemon sole, black bream haddock and chips, grilled prawns - all cooked to perfection! Expensive for a family lunch, but well worth it as it was a beautiful place to celebrate in style! Thank you ❤️

Went in for a recommendation for Saturday evening meal .pouring with rain so it was busy .staff were very pleasant and sat us at our table quickly. Great looking pub/restaurant good choice of food and drink .took a while for starters to arrive and pavlova which had took much icing sugar and took a few mins to break as it was very hard are the only reason it's not a 5star review.will definitely go back .

Really good location in the centre of Chichester North Street. I had the traditional breakfast, which was well cooked with proper butcher sausage. Price was very reasonable for the location and quality of the food.

Excellent place to eat in Chichester. It was recommended to me and overall didn't disappoint. I had the share platter with dip, chorizo, bread, dumplings, pickles etc. Very filling and tasty. I then had the Bills flowerpot dessert but found it a bit disappointing. It looks great, but there was too much chocolate soil which tasted like Oreo cookies so not what I was expecting. The filling hardly tasted of passionfruit to me and in the end I could only eat about half the dessert. Glass of wine was good and service was friendly and attentive.

Went for dessert withy family, served by Elysia. Gave excellent recommendations and was prepared to have a laugh. Would recommend. Also they take blue light card 20% off.

We went to this restaurant with our friends this morning It was one of the best restaurant in the UK The food quality the service was perfect There was a lady called ANA and she was so kind and welcoming, and provided the best service But the scones was not as good as the food was. I strongly recommend this place 😋

Our server (maryam) came quickly and took our orders. Our friend had a nut allergy and they handled the situation perfectly and asked many questions to ensure that she has alternative options. We had the £5 bottomless pancakes and they was lovely. 100% will come back again had a great experience!!

Been to this place many many times over the last few years. Never had any issues really until my last. My usual order of pork belly came out looking as tasty as ever but as I started eating it under half way through I was disappointed to find that in fact most of it consisted of just fat and no meat. First time this has happened but the way my server dealt with it was disappointing to say the least She exclaimed that sometimes depending on the cut its fatty and nothing they can do about it. As bluntly as that. No offer of a new one or trying to resolving it to a satisfactory standard just a robotic ‘we can take 10% off’ and that I could order more food but will take a while to come out’ the 10% went back on the discretionary tip anyway that I wasn’t pedantic enough to request it being taken off.

Had the set menu: great value for the price and the food was good Everything was tasty and well presented, with a nice variety to choose from. The service was also very good, friendly, and efficient.

Went here for a quiet dinner with my wife. Food was amazing and service tip rate. The scallops starter was incredible, the rib eye top notch and their take on the creme brulee was really interesting. Great service and will always come back for another meal!

The food was incredible we shared 2 starters and had a main meal and it was amazing. The food made up for the issue regarding the forgotten drinks order. They did take this off the bill which was the right thing to do considering service charges are included

My first impression of the restaurant was very dispiriting. I could see 3 members of staff in formal/ business dress in an area adjacent to us having a meeting in full view of the lunchtime clientele, and the female member of the team was literally drinking out of a 1.5 litre San Pellegrino bottle. Not a great standard to set for the staff,nor a great impression to make on the guests.I raised the issue with the duty manager who identified her as " the top boss" and I asked that my concerns around the poor standard be relayed to her . The person concerned came over and said that she understood I was upset that she was drinking water out of a bottle; I wasn't upset at all, I was offended by sloppy manners and sloppy behaviour by in a restaurant that usually has excellent standards. She said she was just finishing her water- I suggested she use a water glass in a restaurant. Totally nonplussed she turned and walked away. Aside from that lunch was excellent.Our set menu of 2 courses was delicious and very good value,our waiting staff were all polite, attentive and efficient ( not just to my companion and me but to other tables nearby). A shame the visit started so dismally, but the staff and the food lifted the experience for us.

We went for lunch yesterday and had a fab meal. The fish finger open sandwich was delicious with proper pieces of fish! Not a normal fish finger at all! Brie sandwiches were also delicious. Everything was well presented. Great coffee too. And super friendly service. We also bought some bread to take away. Would highly recommend!

Well deserves 5 stars. Beautiful surroundings set off the perfect pub experience. Well worth a visit! Edit. Just returned for a second visit. This time for dinner. And wow! The food was out of this world. The quality of the meals would not ve out of place in a high end London restuarant. One our party was vegan and while there qas not a vegan option on the menu, the chef was more than happy to make a meal to suit. Superb all round.

The owners of this restaurant are absolutely brilliant. They were fantastic in accommodating our autistic child guest. Their understanding of her needs went above and beyond. As guests we were served an amazing range of food . The smells and artistry that came on every plate was a delight . Home made breads butters and ice creams were outstanding. Thank you so much for a wonderful relaxing and caring evening. We will definitely return.

We went there because of the sandwich we saw online. And we were not disappointed. Everything locally produced. The steak sandwich was amazing. My kid had a fish fingers sandwich and was a 3 fist cod size pieces. You cannot eat as a normal sandwich. Fork and knife... Staff was very polite and place is immaculate. Definitely recommend anf would like to visit again.

Literally popped in whilst on a centurion way walk, out of curiosity. Manager was friendly, helpful and informative about the area. We were offered opportunity to refill our water bottles with chilled water. We spotted homemade loaves of soda bread for sale, and bought one to try. VERY delicious, I cut it up & have frozen sections. It freezes well and is delicious...I'll definitely buy another if I find my way there again. Views outside over The Trundle are great.

Nice country pub and main course choice looks quite pricey, but pretty sure that they are good quality. We had a family lunch there on a week day. Their light lunch menus is really reasonable priced. Enjoy my posh open sandwich and fancy cut vegetables and chips on the side. Kids menu is pretty big potion and quite health with vegetables. Staff provided friendly efficient service. We enjoyed our lunch here. Free on site parking. Small beer garden next to the car park. Nice view of the field from the beer garden. Recommend to all.

I'm a foody and I will be the first to let restaurant staff know if something is not good with my food. The food here is AMAZING. The Earl of March's chef puts The Ivy to shame. There is simply no comparison. Not only it's beautifully presented and yummy just to look at but it's SO tasty. I've been here several times now and never been let down so I thought it was time to leave a review. The food is not cheap but it's worth it. It's an experience you won't forget.

Came here for a meal with family as a day late birthday celebration. Service was friendly and about as fast as can be expected on such a busy day. Food was nice, it's a challenge not to fill up too much at the complementary salad bar. Hardly left room for all my main course. None of us left disappointed and would definitely come back for more.

Today we had dinner at Harvester Barn Chichester. We been served by Lucy who was very friendly kind and excellent service. She is a very nice person thank you gor your help and support. We had nice dinner atmosphere was great.

We had Lucy serve us this evening, and she was absolutely amazing. She had such a lovely attitude and was extremely helpful. Polite and me and my partner couldn't of asked for better service. We will definitely be coming back.

We were seated by the window, and it was very hot. We had a baby, and the sun was shining right in our faces even with the blinds down. We requested if we could move to a different table, but we weren't allowed. It's a shame as the food was nice, but we were so uncomfortable sitting where we were. We had to put the baby back in his pram to protect him from the sun.

I was there today the staff was very friendly and I really enjoyed they have tasty food and also fresh salad.

Stopped here as we always had good experiences in Harvesters so was expecting the same here. When we arrived we were left standing for between 5 - 10 minutes before anyone could see us. The staff looked under pressure as there was a load of dirty tables waiting to be cleared. We got seated and the friendly staff took our drinks order followed by our food orders. We were invited to use the salad bar and given a bowl each to have what we wanted. Unfortunately the salad bar was mostly empty and the staff didn’t have time to refill it. When my I ordered the original combo, my wife ordered the Dirty Bird and my Daughter ordered the Dirty one with bacon. My wife’s cam out perfect and she enjoyed every bit. My daughters came out without the bacon , but she still enjoyed it. The combo meal was supposed to have onion and sage fries which were not forthcoming. I asked the waitress and she told me I ordered the standard combo and the seasoned fries didn’t come with my order. She did offer to change my fries but I reckoned I must have been mistaken and didn’t want to put her out. The chicken and ribs were tiny and didn’t live up to the expectation. I asked to look at the menu again and point out that the seasoned fries should have been a part of my meal. I asked for an explanation and all I got was sorry, most people just ask for normal fries. That’s no excuse and unless a specific request is made the meal should come a described and not what the cook feels like putting out. At £66 for three mains and drinks it’s a place I definitely will not be rushing back to.

One of those places I’ve spent years driving past and finally decided to go in and glad I did. In a classic old pub converted so it’s a little rough around the edges but the food and staff made up for it. Went for the Goat Curry special and was cracking. The Vegan Mrs enjoyed her Dal curry. Cheesy garlic naan was indeed cheesy. Decent place with nice food, they got us in without a booking and there is plenty of parking space.

Unreal wonderful food and experience. We’re from Texas and visiting family in the area and they took us to Thyme & Chillies. Lawrence is a spectacularly friendly person and went above and beyond for us. Tuesday is dosa night, it was just lovely. We had multiple chicken & lamb dishes. The lamb was amazingly tender. Watching the dosa being made was very fun and educational. The coconut chutney with the dosa is one of my favorite foods I’ve ever eaten. It was such a good experience all around. Excellent food, drinks, service, people. Highly highly recommend.

The restaurant is located along a quiet countryside but easy enough to find with any sat nav. Tuesday is Indian street food day though not my personal favourite they are well received by others. The restaurant can feel a bit crowded and it's always busy/full, not the cheapest place but definitely a popular one.

We stayed nearby and went twice for take-out. The place looks nice and easy to reach from the road. I've eaten a lot of Indian food all over the world, but I can honestly say this has been the best I had! A totally different menu then I'm used to (which is good!), all the food is amazing and extremely tasteful. Wow! This is what I call real Indian food! It is one of the best Indian restaurants I've ever been to. We are visitors to this town, and it was worth the long travel. Every single dish tasted so rich and well made with diverse flavours. They made my mum's birthday extra special, and she really enjoyed her chocolate cake at the end. THANK YOU! The staff were so hospitable and welcoming. Before going, I tried book the table over the phone, but the connection was bad. The staff made sure to keep calling me back to book and secure our table, which was so nice of them as they are a very busy restaurant. Me family had a wonderful experience.

Well worth a visit. Somewhere we had lived relatively locally to but never gone. Decided first visit we would go there for husbands birthday meal. For a weekday it was busy so worth booking in advance! Service was amazing, staff are attentive but not overly cloyingly attentive (which is nice). The Indian street food was an excellent touch and also worth trying! Really reasonably priced and didn’t make you feel rushed at all. Definitely on the list for a re-visit! Plenty of parking. It is in a converted pub so quirky layout but it actually works. Would recommend to anyone to visit for anyone that was in two minds about whether to go or not.

We drive past the restaurant this evening and were immediately drawn in by the beautiful venue. On our way back, we decided to give it a try. Despite how busy it was, the team found us a table within about 10 minutes. While we waited, the staff looked after us with drinks, and that same outstanding service continued throughout the night. The food was equally impressive. The chicken starters were exceptional, as was the naan bread and the lamb shank was absolutely stunning. My partner ordered a korma and said it was the best she’s ever had—and after trying it myself, I had to agree. Perfectly cooked and full of flavour. All in all, we had an amazing evening. Highly recommend this place, and we’ll definitely be visiting again!

From entering this restaurant, no one came to welcome us to a seat bearing in mind the place wasn’t busy at all. My mum went up to the bar and asked if we may be seated at a table to which a lady showed us over. Considering the restaurant wasn’t busy, the service was shocking slow and our food requests and drink requests weren’t acknowledged. Two of my family members asked for additional toppings on their pizzas, to which these weren’t added. We asked for table water, to which this wasn’t given until we asked again. There wasn’t any attention to detail for example ‘would you like any salt or pepper or sauces or parmesan cheese etc’. There seemed a lack of any real direction it felt like some staff were all on a training day or they’d rather be at home. There wasn’t anyone taking a clear direction or lead on the 5 or so tables that were occupied. When the bill came over, we were charged for additional toppings that we didn’t receive. We told our original waitress about this and she went off, got distracted and started serving other tables? We then told another waitress, anyone would think she was volunteering and not being paid, there wasn’t any personable skills towards us? Eventually, they took these extra charges off the bill and we paid and left. Overall, the food was good and tasted fresh. The bar man seemed like the only efficient member of staff and the new strawberry drink tasted lovely. I wouldn’t come to this restaurant again due to the service recieved.

I've had the most lovely, relaxing lunch at ASK Italian. My server, Charlie, was incredibly accommodating of me being vegan and gluten-free, which I appreciate is an awkward combination. He was very helpful & did everything with a smile. I had the lentil ragu, which was hearty, and their new side of greens with a balsamic glaze. The sarti pink spritz was a free April perk that arrived in my emails and added to the holiday feeling, as I'm currently down for a short break.

Lovely meal for my sons 12th birtbday. The man behind bar (think his name was Leesun) put together some candles for my son and bought this out singing happy birthday with his pudding, this was very sweet. Food was lovely and came out nice and fast. A nice chilled environment to have dinner. I had a 30% discount with blue light which was handy and then was given another 10% off for it being my sons birthday! Will definitely come again 😃

We came to Ask Italian this evening as there were issues with our anniversary booking at The Ivy and they were not able to accommodate us. Thankfully Ask had a no show and were able to sit all 6 of us. The service from Layla was impeccable and although she was rushed off her feet all evening she made an effort with everyone and was so calm and gracious. Thank you for making our evening, we will definitely be back!

We came in at 12pm today for a nice Easter Sunday meal with my family! Food and service was 10/10, we will come back again!!!

My family and I went to ASK Italian for dinner on Tuesday. From our arrival until we left we were welcomed by a friendly and well mannered waiter who offered us complimentary shots of lemonade while we were choosing our food. Despite the restaurant being quite busy due to graduation ceremonies, our waiter was able to cope with the stress and provide excellent service. The food was delicious and when I ordered the Chocolate Falls dessert our waiter even poured the toffee sauce over the dessert for me. This was our first time going to this restaurant and we will definitely be going back!

Had a great experience at ASK Italian. The food was lovely, but what really stood out was the service. Our server Nathan was fantastic: friendly, attentive, and made us feel really welcome without being over the top. He added a personal touch that made the whole meal more enjoyable. Will definitely be back!

Haven't been to one of these venues for a long time and we were so happy to find the buzz and atmosphere that makes them great, still here!! Me and my wife arrived with no pre booking and we got seated right away in the prison cell ( get in ). we were greeted by a lovely waitress who was attentive and very smiley. Food came quickly and was very tasty, we really enjoyed ours and the experience. Back again soon!!

Our first visit to Smith & Western in Chichester was fabulous. An all round excellent experience, in a very authentic cowboy and western setting. It was like being in a movie set. Carys, who served us was very attentive and helpful, especially regarding food suitable for me with a nut allergy. It was refreshing to hear how much she loved her job and spoke highly of the family owners. The food was very tasty and the toffee apple sundae was glorious. Would highly recommend if you'd like a meal out and different a experience. Thank you to all the staff and chefs.

Staff are amazing and service is one of the best we've been to at a restaurant. Balloons and colouring for the kids to keep them entertained. The interior and exterior kept well within the western theme and the small details all around were great. Great menu and kids choices and all was well priced. Great atmosphere with good country songs. The only thing I dropped a star for was i thought the food could have been a bit hotter as it was luke warm, but then it was Father's Day, so im guessing everything was made before and ready to come out straight away for a quick turnover. Would definitely come back again.

I came across this place searching on Google. What a find... The food was great and with a nice variety of food to choose from. I liked the decor and it's American theme. It's definitely a place I will recommend and visit again

We are here on the spur of the moment for lunch and had a fantastic meal. Restaurant was bright and stylish and the food really lovely. I was not very familiar with Thai food but had the mixed starter platter which we thought might be expensive at nearly £10.00 per person but we were really pleased with this choice. Friendly staff helped us choose a main. My daughter had an amazing duck dish with lovely Jasmine rice. Now converted to Thai food in preference to Chinese and although we very rarely eat out I would return. Thank you for a lovely meal

This place is just wonderful! Not only were the staff friendly and attentive, but the restaurant was gorgeous, and the food was amazing! I had the thai green curry, which was probably the best I have ever had. The curry broth was so flavourful and really not too spicy. I chose prawn as my protein and got 9 perfectly cooked prawns. The veggies in the broth were cooked to perfection, especially the courgettes. I chose the sticky rice, which went so well with the dish. For starters, I chose the puffed tofu (tofu tord) - this was excellent; super crispy and flavourful with a gorgeous sauce. For dessert, I had the Thai pancake (Phuket Delight), which tasted insanely delicious. It was sweet and salty and fantastically sticky. It came with ice cream, which i didn't realise until afterwards as I ordered a scoop of pistachio ice cream on the side. The pistachio ice cream was fantastic. The staff were kind, patient, and attentive.

We had my sons birthday meal here a couple of weeks ago. Despite not mentioning it to the staff they must have overheard us talking about it and bought over a pudding with a candle in it singing Happy Birthday which was a lovely touch. The food was delicious and when we ordered too much of it they kindly boxed it up so we could take it home for the next day!

Welcomed by smiles all are round by the staff. Fast service and didn’t have to wait long for food either. Nice ambience and great deco. Food we ordered were good but the pad Thai noodles was quite sweet in my opinion. Too wet and on a salty side. No Thai dessert ie sticky rice mango or fried banana when we were there. Only ice cream. This place great for big event. Parking is just at the back of restaurant. Pub and other restaurants near by. Walking distance to high street.

Daria ! She welcomed us warmly. She helped me very well with the options for the food as I am picky on food. Most the food (lunch) has coriander leaves, which I don't like. Table was clean and tidy. Restaurant located in the centre, so better pay longer car park if you want to see around after or before food. Great service ! 💪🏽

Lunch at Giggling Squid 🦑 Fantastic Thai inspired food with a great selection on the lunch menu. I had the Green Thai Chicken curry (as pictured) and my partner had the lunch tapas board. We were both very impressed with the food! We did attend the restaurant on a Monday mid day and so despite it being quiet in attendance, the restaurants scenery is stunning, and has been added onto our recommendations list. 🌟 Recommend : Salt and Pepper Quid, Thai Green Curry, Prawn Crackers 🦑 Squid Rating - 9/10

I recently enjoyed a meal at Giggling Squid and it was a real treat. The service was top-notch, with friendly staff making me feel truly valued. I loved the drinks selection and the food was delicious, though I think some dishes could use a bit more flair. The venue itself had a lovely vibe, perfect for a relaxed evening out. Definitely worth a visit if you're looking for a good time!

Amazing Thai food! We really enjoyed the fresh flavours, everything was moreish and we left feeling very full. The cocktails were fab too, a great selection of mocktails on the drinks menu. Overall would definitely return as there was so much choice and lots of options for vegetarians too.

We had a lovely one night stay here with our two dogs celebrating our wedding anniversary on their 'Muddy Paws' package, which included dinner. I'm not sure if our room was upgraded but we stayed in Flint Cottage, which had a super king bed and a lounge area, which was very charming. The staff had decorated the bed with petals and candles which was a very sweet surprise, they even left us a card on the mantelpiece. There is a little garden at the back where you can sit with a drink and admire the view of the fields beyond, it was so peaceful and relaxing. All the staff were super friendly and helpful and Sash deserves a special mention for being so lovely and bringing us espresso martinis!

Lovely country pub in a gorgeous village. Food was very good and excellent value with the Wednesday deal. We stayed in one of the cottages which was lovely, super old and cute. Lovely outdoor area too. Our one slight hindrance was that storage was lacking - no drawers for our clothes and the wardrobe was inaccessible! As we were there for a wedding we missed being able to hang up our dresses. But probably fine for just one night. Overall a wonderful stay!

Stayed here whilst attending a wedding. The staff were amazing, the American lady who settled us in was fab! The lady who served our breakfast on sunday was also so friendly and accommodating :) loved the residents garden, so peaceful and lovely view. The breakfasts were gorgeous! Lots of little extras included at breakfast- 10/10 for breakfast! Loved the cookies in the room, bed was so comfy, products were gorgeous. The pub itself was beautiful. Great beer gardens

Just returned from a short stay at the Royal Oak in East Levant and couldn't be happier. We stayed in Flint Cottage, which was perfect, cosy, comfortable, and ideal for a quick getaway. The food? Absolutely top-notch. Far beyond typical pub fare, every dish was full of flavour and beautifully presented. Service was brilliant throughout, and we want to give a special shout-out to Jess. Nothing was too much trouble for her, and she even made an excellent pink gin. A real star! Thanks to all the team at the Royal Oak for making our stay memorable. We’ll be recommending this gem to friends and family.

Disappointing Food Experience, Despite Good Service. My partner and I recently went out for dinner at the Royal Oak, a visit we'd both been really looking forward too. To start on a positive note the staff were great, friendly and attentive , which we appreciated. My partner had the burger, which was just OK, nothing particularly memorable but not bad either, Unfortunately my meal was a real disappointment. I ordered the pie of the day, which was steak and ale with mash. The beef inside was cut into very small pieces and was incredibly dry with no sauce or gravy at all. Something i had never encountered a steak pie before. there was also no taste of ale and it honestly seemed like it might've been left over from the Sunday roast. The pastry overcooked and dry as well. The mash was grainy, clearly not properly mashed with no butter or seasoning and the accompanying vegetables were just as bland, again lacking any seasoning. Overall the food was very underwhelming and not up to the standard we were expecting, its a shame as the staff were good and we had hoped for a much better experience.

Really warm and friendly welcome, with prompt and efficient service. Great food, dinner and breakfast excellent with very good menu choices. Comfortable rooms in charming traditional pub. Quiet village plus bonus of a few Low flying Spitfire passes. Hope we'll go again soon.

Sunday lunch at The Royal Oak. Second time we have been. Great location. Off the beaten track. In Goodwood's back yard. Lovely interior, good food, not the cheapest around, great atmosphere and staff. Served by Sash, Tatiana and Joe who were very welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. Dog friendly too. Will be back again.

First time going to Prezzo in Chichester, great menu. I decided to have the under 600 calories vegetarian pizza and shared fries with my partner. Salad that came with the pizza was fresh and nice that the dressing came on the side as I wasn’t very fussed on it. I knives were blunt which made cutting the pizzas very difficult and even though mine was small I was happy that I didn’t have to keep cutting at it. As it’s in an old building on a sunny day they had fans going which made it pleasant however going in the very hot sun that we’ve had would have been unbearable. Good facilities and staff were nice

Ordered on Deliveroo. £13.95 for this salad as a main meal £6.25 for a large chips to share between two. That is absolutely unacceptable. Both boxes have arrived half empty.

Buy a gift experience for 2.... Not overly special, on arrival the staff couldn't find the booking, we were then walked through what looked to be a nice restaurant to the upstairs area which was very empty and had no atmosphere, there were only 2 other tables in use, by 9pm we were the only customers in the room, which for some might have been nice, but in reality it all seemed a bit odd We had a Buy A Gift voucher as a present from a family member, this entitled us to a fixed 3 course meal and a glass of house wine, we were presented with a menu which was a single creased sheet of A4 paper, not quite what you'd expect, the waitress took our order and the food was with us in fairly good time, the food we ordered was nice and tasty and the wine was OK, I feel as we didnt order from the regular menu (restaurant makes more money) we felt a little second class, So overall the visit was good on the food side, just let down by the customer experience sadly, I think next time we will choose Zizzi or Pizza Express (photos taken at 9pm)

I cannot even begin to explain the service, effort and customer service. I’ve visited quite a few restaurants which have been classed as higher than this, but this one tops it. Our waitress was fantastic with an amazing sense of humour when we kept asking for more calamari because it was delicious. The food arrived so quickly and piping hot. Our waitress also made sure that we had what we needed and checked our food was okay and confirming any allergies we had. Never been so impressed. Highly recommend 👏🏼

The dinner was a delight, the greeting and service very attentive and the restaurant beautifully decorated. The food is all well seasoned (a bit spicy, which we like). The pizza dough was very crispy - could have come out of a wood fired oven, but it doesn't. A nice surprise! Truffle and prezzo burger were very tasty, and the pasta al dente - everything as it should be, compliments to the kitchen! The service staff also took care of us in a professional and exemplary manner. One of the reasons why we have dined there twice on a long weekend. We will be happy to come again!

Very classy decor and ambiance, with impressive interior plants. The set menu fits the season. The service and the food were of very high quality. The "chocolate bomb" dessert was a real highlight. Good price for value ratio, highly recommend. Just discovered it is a chain, and am excited to try the others.

My mum and I had a wonderful cream tea. The staff were incredibly polite and attentive from the moment we arrived, making us feel very welcome. The ambience was elegant yet relaxed, perfect for a special afternoon treat. The scones were fresh, the tea was delicious, and everything was beautifully presented. Highly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy a charming cream tea experience in a gorgeous setting.

Very lovely restaurant we visited in lovely Chichester. They offer good deals like their course meals. One thing i can highly recommend is the duck salad. Prices are not cheap but it’s fair with what quality and service you get. Staff were nice and friendly, the interior is amazing and cosy. Would recommend if you’re looking for a date night with someone or a place to celebrate.

Cream Tea as a gift from a friend. It was lovely and the service was top notch. The atmosphere was good but I gave 4 stars as it was almost too noisy and busy.

This place was great! The only downside was that there were so many things on the menu that I wanted to try (such as the pesto mayo chicken pasta with wedges). I ended up going for a classic - the full English (pictured) and it was the best I’ve had since moving to the UK. I also want to apologise for my blunt mother, with whom we were dining. She was a bit curt in requesting that our table be wiped down. For context, we had sat down without giving the staff a chance to clean up after the people before us and I moved all the cups away so the staff didn’t know the table wasn’t clean. Thanks again - great food, great vibes.

Overpriced and nothing special - sadly. Chichester seems a generally over priced place. I was pretty shocked to pay £7.50 for an egg mayo sandwich. I expected it would be really good but it was very average. The woman who brought the food out to us was friendly. I wish them well, but I won't be going back.

Clean cafe and toilets. Friendly chatty staff, welcoming too. No parking outside, but 3 mins walk from cattle market carpark. Would recommend.

Came in on 16th July, expecting good quality food for the prices id paid. The breakfast was overpriced and really poor quality. The eggs were awful and bacon was almost charred. Staff looked like they didn’t want to be there and wouldn’t go back tbh not worth it

Came in here one morning for a breakfast, can’t recommend it highly enough. The staff were all very friendly, the inside is decorated really and the food was great. We had a big breakfast from the menu with pot of tea and cappuccino with vanilla! Will definitely come back

I've had a meal here a number of days in a row in an attempt to get loads of healthy food after visiting hours of the hospital (20h). Fresh, crispy, unctuous, smooth, elegant, sharp flavors, etc are all available depending on your choice of the menu. Loved it. There are individual differences between cooks but all good. Could relax here and then continue on. The servers are friendly and one connected really well and made me feel welcome enough to return. After my last meal before repatriation homewards my favorite server gifted me this meal sending all their love to my partner with a gift box added. I didn't expect it, it made me happy, such gestures are so precious. Thank you Esmai! I'll remember you! I appreciate this a lot!

Delicious food. Free green tea is a nice bonus. Nice place, good food, friendly service, reasonable prices. Some of the tables have a cafeteria-like layout, which doesn't allow for an intimate atmosphere. Some tables are separated by dividing walls, creating a cozy and more intimate setting. It can get very loud here, and the noise level is so high that it makes conversation difficult. We've been here many times. We've tried various dishes, dined in, and ordered takeout. Everything has always been tasty.

You can't move tables, they don't know how to cope with that. I asked for a menu, and was given the drinks and desserts menu. Food was bland. Unimpressive menu selection. Not very busy.

I regularly order a chilli chicken ramen from here and it is the best ramen I’ve ever had. It’s so flavourful and is prepared in the best way and presented beautifully despite delivery. The person who prepares the ramen deserves a huge raise.

I visited Wagamama yesterday evening and had such a lovely experience. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the food was absolutely amazing as always. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by a really friendly waiter (I didn’t catch his name, unfortunately), and our server, Esmai, was so sweet and helpful throughout. Both of them made the whole meal feel extra enjoyable. Great food, great service, and an all-around great experience — I’ll definitely be coming back!

My brother was able to eat healthy for many days at this restaurant while his wife was in hospital with serious complications. A small restaurant on a busy street, however a fabulous little restaurant with a big heart and proper Greek favourites! The portions are all very generous, the flavour is real (I can’t imagine any sachets or bottled sauces used in the background) and the sauce was fun and attentive! Take your time to enjoy your meal and spread it out with wine and laughter! The lamb dishes were particularly good! Tsatsa looked after us so well, made proper recommendations, as opposed to blatant upselling, and ensured that we had a great evening! We will be back! Thank you guys!

Even though this restaurant is already popular, I still have to say that the food here is perfect and authentic, exactly like the food I ate in Greece. Their chips are not frozen chips, the lamb is fresh and the salad vinegar is authentic. And also we really enjoyed considerate service and a clean environment as well.

Mother and I visited the Dora Carrington and Patterns exhibition and thoroughly enjoyed it. A wonderful building with modern amenities and a delightful exhibition space - well curated and I learnt a lot about an interesting artist. Looking forward to visiting again - to explore both the existing collection and subsequent exhibitions.

Pallant House Gallery was fantastic. The natural light really brought out the textures of the artworks and the quiet part of Chichester made the visit even more special. I enjoyed walking through the beautiful streets of Chichester city before and after the gallery. The special exhibition was brilliant and I was so absorbed in everything that I forgot to take pictures. Afterward, we enjoyed tea and cake at the lovely café with the option to sit inside or outside. A wonderful place for families.

A friend recommended this gallery for our visit to Chichester and I'm so glad they did - it's a real find. The building is lovely - part heritage house and part modern extension but they flow into each other seamlessly. The volunteers are friendly and helpful. The permanent collection of mostly 20th century British art is quite extensive and contains some very important and engaging pieces. We were also fortunate to be able to see the huge temporary exhibition of artists' pictures of other artists (on until November 2nd 2025) which has lots of interesting works.

Fantastic, light and airy building with something to see for everyone. The natural light really made texture and fine detail come to life. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The cafe was exceptional and it was a beautiful day to sit outside in the courtyard. I came to see the Maggi Hambling Nightingale exhibition, breathtaking. The John Piper paintings in the museum collection were such a bonus for me. Also worth saying what an amazing bookshop they had, so many books floor to ceiling.

Excellent mid sized gallery specialising in British 20th-century art, alongside some contemporary work. The permanent collection is displayed in a Georgian townhouse which has a very peaceful atmosphere. I found the staff to be lovely and helpful. Some very strong and recognisable works here.

Part is set in a beautiful early Georgian house, amongst the best in Chichester. It's one of the best places in the UK to see high quality 20th century art. Unfortunately the Georgian hose is virtually empty except for the artwork and so has lost its character on the inside. The £17 entry charge is a bit steep for what there is there unless you have a real interest in the sort of art they have on display

I don't want to leave this review but have to for the sale of other diners (if my experience is to be repeated) . Ordered the cooked breakfast..which was indeed cooked, but at different times. Precooked sausages were pretty close to cold (and one or two 'reheated' things which I cannot recall ) . As a plate of food it was completely miserable and as the food experience sunk in so too did the sight of dirty tables, floor and the general tatty look of the place too . Given the name of the business it should be championing a quality food service yet in my experience struggled to even achieve the lowest possible ideals . The staff were quite young , too few (one cook, one waiting staff IIRC?) and the cashier struggled with the till on ordering . The whole experience reeked of corner cutting by the management . Sorry R.E.C ! Never again.

Well it's a very clean and delightfully simply dressed coffee shop, coffee was enjoyable and nicely presented, the lady behind the counter was either having a bad day as she had to work bank holiday, or needs some customer service training (I'm going with just having a bad day)

Me and my friend came on a Tuesday mid morning, it was really quiet in there and I can now understand why. Firstly we both got Apple juice which turned out to be Apple juice mixed with sparkling water, not the end of the world but certainly not what we were expecting. I had ordered the sausage bap which wasn’t too bad. My friend ordered the eggs Benedict but asked for it without ham due to being a vegetarian, the guy at the till could barely say more than a mumble and clearly hadn’t listened. Because when the food came hers had ham on it, she politely told the female waiter there who apologised and took it away. We expected a fresh one to be made but instead she just took the ham off and brought it straight back over. The bread was chewy and the eggs were hard boiled. In the time that we were there not a single table had been cleaned and the toilets could also do with a deeper clean than what they are receiving.

Such a disappointing experience. I had the full English breakfast- the spinach leaves had seen better days and were slimy and past their best- the grilled tomato was so hard and undercooked- the fried eggs were burnt underneath (i never knew that a fried egg could be that burnt) and tasted bitter- the little pot of baked beans was so cold it had not even seen the heat-the sourdough was burnt. My husband had eggs Benedict with spinach. Same as before, the spinach was slimy and past its best. In addition we asked for salt and told there is no salt here. The pot of tea had a tin taste and the pot leaked everywhere.

We went for breakfast here on our first visit to Chichester today. Not sure where to start really. Given only two tables were occupied mid morning should have been a sign. The service throughout could be summed up with 'disinterested'. The all day veggie breakfast was defined by if you can cook it on a griddle (apart from the scrambled egg). The menu said two eggs but we were informed there a choice of scrambled or scrambled. The eggs were accompanied by three pieces of wafer thin halloumi, a mushroom, half a cold tomato, a pot of cold baked beans, wilted spinach (probably the best thing on the plate), and a flattened slice of bread that had been griddle cooked (not toasted) and had any depth squeezed out of it. All for a tenner! The saving grace for the visit was that the coffee was good. Considering there were only three tables occupied in this sizable cafe by the time we left we didn't even get any acknowledgement as we walked past the manned counter on our way out. On reflection we should have gone to 17grams up the road as that was really busy as we walked past. I hate leaving negative reviews, especially for independent businesses like this. It's tough running a business on so many levels but maybe it's one of those situations where the growth to multiple stores means the eye is taken off the ball in some locations. I hope from this feedback the focus can return to the service and the quality of the breakfast. Sadly it's not somewhere I would visit again. Reading through other reviews there are no responses from the business to any of the reviews, good or bad. So perhaps disinterested is inherent from top to bottom.

Sadly, this cafe is nowhere near as good as it once was. Tried to order a toasted sandwich and hot chocolate on Saturday lunchtime; they had run out of sandwiches. Staff were all very young and no one seemed to have a clear job role. Tables were dirty and not cleared away. Sofa we sat on was shabby and dirty. The whole place was unclean and many customers left before or after ordering. We ordered eggs benedict. After half an hour of waiting, and with two incorrect drinks brought to our dirty table, we gave up and asked for a refund. Poor young man at the counter seemed stressed and very apologetic. When asked, we learned that the manager was away. It was like an episode of The Apprentice where no one has a clue how to serve customers. Whole place needs a makeover and staff allocated to clearing tables and specific jobs. It was chaos, with no one taking the initiative on how to sort it out.

myself and 8 others went for a Boys night out, probably the first of many visits! I cannot say enough about the quality and flavour of the dishes! amazing. The service and welcome we received was also 1st class. Highly recommended for an authentic Indian cuisine experience.

Tried the Achari Gosht, and it was absolutely delicious! The flavors were rich and perfectly balanced. The restaurant had a great atmosphere with a warm and welcoming vibe. The service was friendly and attentive, making the experience even better. One thing I noticed was the number of locals dining there—a sure sign of a great spot! Will definitely be back.

Came to this place and ordered food waited about 50 mins and brought out the rong food and then tryd make me take it after I didn’t order it then I had to wait another 45 mins and the next food was rotten well differently will not be returning here ever again and very ignorant staff…… had to leave my food behind I am very up set tbh

The vibe is immaculate, takes ma back to India, even though I’m from South of India most of my studies were in North. The best place to visit if you are homesick and the staff is very welcoming. Overall, had one of the best time after coming to the UK.

Best Indian food I’ve ever had! Chicken pulls apart tenderly, lamb and vegetarian options are also very very good. The staff & owner are always super friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this place, definitely in my top 3 restaurants around Chichester.

I found this cafe purely by chance; while I was visiting an adjacent shop I could see an outside dining area through a window. Service was pleasant and I was served quickly. My prawn and avocado salad was delicious. The avocado was missing, but this was spotted straightaway (I hadn't even noticed!) and brought straight out, so no problems at all. There was plenty of seating and it felt very relaxing. Prices were very reasonable and I will definitely return.

Excellent all around: food came quickly and tasted delicious, coffee was made using a proper coffee machine, reasonably priced (under £40 for two adults and two children) and free WiFi included. Faultless in all regards. Would highly recommend!

I visited with my partner and friend on Sunday. I appreciate it was busy but the staff were not very welcoming and failed to inform us they had “no ingredients” for any of the platters or salads until we wanted to order. Food was tasty enough, not particularly high quality but did not have to wait too long.

Ended up having breakfast here due to the shocking weather which delayed our visit to the Goodwood Revival. It appears to be the earliest opening breakfast venue in the area at 7:45am which suited us perfectly, with very close parking. We all participated in the Charlie Harper breakfast with a variety of coffees. What a pleasant surprise - excellent food, great quality meat, lovely friendly service from the waitress and good coffee. This will now be my favourite breakfast venue in Chichester. Thanks.

Mind blowing venue which i wasn’t aspecting. Very impressive architecture and decor because it’s church converted in bar. Stained glass windows awesome and ceiling too. The bar guy was friendly and happy to help kinda person so do great service. Happily recommend to anyone who wanna have great time in very pleasant atmospheric place.

The Duke and Rye is a fantastic pub with a really unique charm. The layout and atmosphere are amazing, especially considering it was formerly a church. The large space makes it feel grand, and the interior looks incredible — really adds to the overall vibe. Drinks are reasonably priced, too. The only reason I’ve given 4 stars instead of 5 is due to the state of the toilets. Unfortunately, the smell tends to drift into the pub, and they could definitely be cleaner.

Dropped by The Duke for drinks and was seriously impressed - not just by the drinks, but by the stunning building itself. This place has real character and charm! Didn’t try the food this time, but the service was great and the vibe was spot on.

Very Dog Firendly, Nice artcheture, pleasant food selection, with an okay price. Unfortunately, when we visited on a week day lunchtime, ourselves and other customers had a 20-30 minute wait on food with no warning or explanation. There were only 8 customers in the entire building. One customer complained as they had ordered food 10 minutes before we had come in and we had already waited 20 for just a sandwich. We then overheard the staff in kitchen being rude about the customers, who complained about the waiting times.

Quite the novelty to have a beer inside the church. Interesting architecture and stained glass windows, fun facts too. Beer was fine, as was the food, shame they were missing some items from the menu. Engaging landlady.

Had a fabulous lunch at Phoenix Dining today. It's owned and run by a young husband and wife team, who bring a wonderful blend of Nepali and Chinese food cultures together to create interesting and flavour-packed dishes. A short, but well-judged menu is on offer, and this place must be the best value in Chichester. Dishes are beautifully presented, and we learned today that they opened in 2021. How brave, considering the economic climate of the time. I think they could produce a range of house sauces and seasoning blends to take away. The flavours are so interesting. They really deserve to do well. I won't hesitate to return when back in Chi. Wishing them every success for the future.

Absolutely the best resturant in Chichester! Superb wine and cocktail selection with a wide range for every price. The dim sum was steamed and flavoursome and the chicken wings were juicy and delicious with the garlic mayo. The main was gorgeous to look at and tasted superb.

Delicious crispy prawns with smoky scallions and chilli, perfectly cooked, followed by Sticky cumin beef with bao buns And wonderful Mixed fried rice. Wonderful wines. This restaurant is a real gem.

We ate here before going to the theater. I chose the Pre Fixe pre-theatre menu. The crab rolls were a bit creamy and could have used more crab. But my main course was delicious and cooked well. My husband also loved his meal. Dessert was a rice pudding that was more like a creme brûlée and was great. We had a nice glass of wine and finished off with caramel coffees that were yummy. The meal was reasonably priced. I deducted one star for service merely because my husband thought one plate they brought out for appetizers was slightly dirty.

My favourite restaurant in Chichester. It really is a hidden gem, right next to Priory Park and The Harbour Hotel. Delicious Asian food (Chinese and Nepalese) run by a charming husband and wife team. A lot of love goes into the food, always jazz music playing to create a warm ambience and they offer a good pre-theatre set menu, the perfect place to come before a performance at Chichester Festival Thestre, which is a walk away. Highly recommended.

Steak pie was excellent. Chicken in leek cream sauce very tasty. Pork goulash tasty but meat a bit dry. Good value for money.

First visit to this garden centre today. Very friendly staff, nice big restaurant area and outside eating area too. Had a cheese and ham panini with a side of chips, all very tasty.

Disappointing because although the staff did their best to be welcoming and friendly the food which initially looked nice left us underwhelmed. The roast pork was tough, the gravy tasteless and the banoffee pie consisted of heaps of cream in a pastry case with little or no bananas or caramel.. and for £17 we didn’t think it was good value.

Been waiting months to get the chance to eat here. Unfortunately we couldn't be more disappointed 😔 I had the ham egg and chips and my word was it a small portion! Even if it was a child's meal it would have been small. Literally half a handful of chips 2 tiny eggs and 3 small wafer thin bits if ham. Absolutely gutted. Now if it was like £6 I could understand but it was like £14 odd. Felt like I'd been had!! The wife had some curry like dish and it honestly tasted like a cheap microwave meal and was really not great. She had 3 mouthfuls and was done with it. Both our coffee mugs and glasses were dirty and made our stomachs turn. We was so shocked and disappointed. Gutted as thought this place would be good and was really looking forward to it. Won't be returning for food again 😕

I have always been impressed by the food but was very disappointed recently when I brought 2 friends for lunch. We had stew and dumpling. It was quite late but all the food was cold. I was rather embarrassed as one of the friends with me is a caterer and said even if it's late the food on offer should be kept at the right temperature. We should have complained at the time but they were against the clock.

Delicious coffee! My flat white was one of the best I’ve had, and our carrot cake was pretty okay but I think we should have gone for one of the other cakes that looked more homemade!

Fun, chilled and funky atmosphere, superb coffee and one of the best cinnamon buns I’ve ever had. Staff were really friendly and welcoming, even giving us a bit of a tour of the space.

Ate at the Barn last night and just had to write a review. The food was absolutely delicious. We shared 5 plates between 5 of us and each one was a joy. I especially liked the whipped feta and the tempura broccoli but everyone enjoyed the whole meal. You could tell that the ingredients were well sourced and thoughtfully put together. The waitress could not have been more upbeat and helpful. Even when we were the last to leave, we were not at all hurried and were even told we could stay for more drinks if we wanted. Really enjoyable evening.

What a lovely, unique cafe! Visited there for the first time today and was lucky enough to sit in one of “huts” in the back courtyard. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the service was first class. There was also a wide selection of sweet treats to choose from! Will definitely be back!

Such a fabulous place, I LOVE the ethos of the business which is what drew me here. We were there for the wine bar for the first time, I have been for coffee and cake many a time, we were greeted and shown to our table. We chose to sit outside and it was glorious. The whole place is so stylish and I love the eclectic pieces from the furniture to all the cutlery, glasses and cutlery. The food was fresh and tasty. We will be back.

Visiting Chichester for a mooch and looking for a place to have lunch in the sun we happily discovered 'The barn Chichester'. Staff were friendly, inviting and not overly rude like the other reviews have left.. I was very surprised to see such comments left on other reviews as everyone seemed lovely. Relaxed atmosphere with a quirky decor, we didn't book but staff were more than happy to find seating for us outside where we'd requested to be ideally. I was told recently they've updated their menu, everything seems delicious. I picked the Sourdough cheese, leek toastie with chutney on the side and my other half picked the brioche bun with egg and bacon. Really yummy and we'd happily come here again on our next visit to Chichester. The price is very reasonable and expected for an independent business, I have been to chain cafés with similar prices and less tasty food so absolutely nothing to complain about with the pricing. There was a service charge included in the bill but we were happy to pay this. Upon paying i mentioned I would leave a review as it means so much to a small businesses, I can't stress how lovely this hidden gem was to find. A cinnamon bun was also picked up to go upon leaving! Tim Hortons, a Canadian favourite and for good reason….You can have some of the best coffee and food items around. Excellent to see Tim’s in the UK. Felt like home. I had the Sausage-Egg breakfast sandwich with a black coffee…..Terrific presentation and taste.

Having not only worked at a Tim Hortons in Ontario Canada but lived and breathed Tim Hortons especially Hot French vanilla during the Canadian winters it's such a JOY To be able to finally share this experience with my family here in UK 🇬🇧. We were served by khushboo, who was just truly exceptional in all knowledge, helpfulness and friendliness 😀 Today wasn't just about having a Tim hortons it was about an experience ❤️🤍🍁🤍❤️ and we got that lovely Canadian experience and for a moment it felt like we were home... only wish we were paying the Canada dollar prices 😉. Delicious donuts though and drinks. Had French vanillas, Americanos, and caramel macchiato even got to try a matcha frappe 😋. Definitely recommend this Tim Hortons very clean very welcoming and Fantastic team! Honestly thought khushboo was the Manager... felt she went above and beyond to make our stay/experience. Open and bright stores with lots of seating inside. Staff were efficient and food was not too long of a wait. The cheese and ham melt was OK but nothing special. The larger doughnuts are very nice the smaller timbits were a dryer but still nice.

Visited 2 days ago and was greeted by Badrul. He and his staff were very attentive and professional. The food was quick and brought to the table. Very impressed. The place was decorated very modern and clean. It takes a bit of getting used to when asking for a double double that you have to put your own sugar in. It doesn't quite taste like the canadian and I think it's the cream used. The coffee cup lids should be the canadian design also, these are much better. Prices do no compare to Canada

Was there early in the morning…. Brilliant deal… £1 for breakfast 😍😍 with a quiet atmosphere. Have always loved sausage muffins.. sadly no good ones in the UK… finally get a great one here…. Donuts are always a no brainer…. (Reheat at home with a microwave for 20 seconds… it will be like you are in heaven) One of the best… good for a sweet treat to oneself occasionally… love the double cream coffee… much smoother and the cream basically cools down coffee making it a great start of the day Already wanted to go back

The food was nice however while waiting for the food it was an uncomfortable experience as I assume was the manager and I am pretty sure from his name was Bradrul was talking to his employees shockingly which was not enjoyable to watch as she was visibly upset and from a customers point of view had done nothing wrong and was doing her job however either way I don’t see it being an acceptable way to talk to employees whether it is in front of customers or not as a workplace shouldn’t be somewhere where you are brought to tears because of the way you have been spoken to. However I would like to say that the employee whose name I also managed to read , Shannon Marie handled it very well and still continued to do her job very well considering the way she had just been spoken to. So would just like to praise her on how professionally she handled it.

Fabulous Turkish restaurant. We were a table of 15 and the service and food were excellent. I am a gluten free vegan and the manager was very accommodating, which I was so grateful for in a ‘meaty’ restaurant. The only downside is their pides ( which I think is Turkish for pizza) wasn’t working/on so that significantly limited the options, especially for the kids. All in all, lovely, clean, great quality and service.

Visited Pidde's after I saw my friend post about it. Her hubby was very excited for the food. It was quiet when we went. We were sat right away. We waited about 30minutes for our order as they had to make it from scratch. It was a meal good for two. It was served hot. The meat contents would be good for 1 for my appetite. 😁 They have a loo. They accept credit cards. The crew were very lovely and nice. Gave us a jug of water haha and so much hot sauce which was very good. Perfect spice.

The staff were very friendly, welcoming and accommodating. The price is so reasonable compared to other restaurants too. We had a negative experience on entry, unfortunately. We were on route home with a long drive ahead of us and stopped off to feed our baby dinner, get a drink and some dinner ourselves. The restaurant was empty at 6pm and we walked in to be seated. My husband said are we OK if we just get a drink and before he could even finish his sentence (to say we just need to feed the baby first, then we can work out what food we want etc). They waiter said no, you can only come in if yor order food. This made me feel uncomfortable and not want to even consider ordering our dinner in there. I've never had that before and we were trying to find somewhere quiet to feed our baby his dinner. We ended up going to Nandos next door and the waiter was so lovely and welcoming. We fed our baby, had a refreshing coke and then our dinner. Finally, got back on the road with a happy, sleepy baby. Such a disappointing experience as we love Mediterranean food.

I love a dosa so when I saw this on the menu I was delighted. Had cheese masala and was amazing!!! You don’t need any other poppadoms or starters as portion is huge! Restaurant is lovely - upper class, modern style. Staff are fantastic. Attentive and caring. Absolutely loved this experience and highly recommend ♥️

WHAT DID YOU SAY? The music was ridiculously loud as we walked through the front door so loud that we could barely hear the staff member. We were shown to our table, down a few steps marked with hazard tape through a narrow door and into a (comparatively) quieter part of the restaurant. We were seated for 19:30, drinks ordered and served along with poppadoms or what actually looked like crispy doritos. Food order, mains only, taken 30 minutes later (20:00). While waiting for our food, several drinks not ordered by us were put on our table. After 40 minutes, we asked about our food. "I'll check", said the waiter but didn't return. As it approached 21:00, we asked again. "Just coming..." and it did. One hour from ordering. The poppadoms were not poppadoms otherwise the food was good. However, the loud music and the length of time we had to wait for our food means that we wouldn't recommend JJ to friends.

The new kid on the curry block had a lot of strong competition. Firstly the place looks good, loved the decor. Shame we went on a Tuesday night and it was dead. I know it’s hard to get them mid week customers so I can excuse that. So far so good. Then the poppadoms came! They were classed as mixed popadoms, and they were kinda weird ngl. Also they were a £5. Most places do them for free, baring in mind popadoms are basically fresh air. Main course, cracking naan bread. Fresh chips. Dosa (my Mrs choice) her words “overpriced and not massively flavourful” Basically it was fine. And just that. Gonna struggle to come here again when the other guys on the block are so good. 3 stars. Great to see somewhere serving authentic regional Indian dishes not your standard boring curries! If you are stuck in your habits going to the usual suspect give Jungle Junction a try either dine in or takeaway both are excellent. We had takeaway a few times and decided to try eating in and so glad we did. Plenty of familiar choices for the less adventurous too, everything tasted fresh and not full of oil. Well looked after as a family made to feel at home even on a Friday evening loads of space and they sensibly put small groups and family’s like us in quieter area, one of the luxurious booths! While larger groups on a night out were catered for at the front of the restaurant.

Today was our first visit here and we had a great welcome from the owner and staff. Food was lovely and service was very efficient and friendly. The chef has worked at some of the top Indian restaurants in West Sussex and obviously knows his stuff. They do lunchtime specials at a great price and we will definitely be back soon! Thank you 🙏

To give it 1 star is generous! When we arrived at the restaurant for our 7:30 booking our table wasn’t ready for half an hour! When we were ordering drinks at the bar it took so long. We eventually sat down and our food took 2 hours to arrive and when we asked about our food they hadn’t even started making it yet! So we ended up cancelling our food, as were complaining one of the staff members were laughing in our face and antagonising one of our friends! It was awful from start to finish and I would never recommend it!

The best sandwich shop in town, fresh fillings and fresh bread which Is hard to find these days, the cakes are out of this world and I’ve even had a breakfast in a box delivered and that was good too

I absolutely love this place! The food is amazing and fresh every day. I normally get the chopped salad and sausage roll. Everyone who works there are so nice and friendly and service is quick so makes for the perfect place to grab a lush healthy fresh lunch. Highly recommend 👍

I have ordered from the lunch box many times in the last few years but today the service was really disappointing. I ordered a sausage bacon and egg sandwich with ketchup. Somehow, they interpreted heinz ketchup as heinz baked beans. The cake was crushed and the capuccino tasted like weak coffee and was half full. What's happened guys?

Went to lunch box today for the first time, it definitely won’t be the last. The food is amazing the flat white is the best. Prawn salad was delicious. Also their chocolate brownies are amazing . The girls are wonderful welcoming and so friendly keep up the good work guys !!!!

I love the take out their baguettes are amazing and hot chocolate too. I want to praise the lunch box as there was a slight error in my order it was rectified immediately and was delivered by the lady on the phone and not deliveroo. I will continue to order and hope many who read this will too. I rate the lunch box 5*

Lovely fresh healthy food in a light airy setting. Lots of choice so there's something for everyone. My sister in law is gluten free so it was great she had lots of options. It's dog friendly too!

Ordered 3 breakfasts the first arrived minus hash browns and no cutlery, waited 5 minutes for cutlery by which time food was getting cold, was told hash browns would be soon, second meal arrived poached eggs cold and more like hard boiled, 3rd dish arrived poached eggs again over cooked, still no hash browns, asked again and 1 hash brown arrived in a pot which was delivered with a surly attitude, not once did anyone ask if the food was ok. Very poor food and the staff looked disinterested, for £48 I would expect better quality food and service.

A real find and such a suprise to find a wonderful independent restaurant in the heart of Chichester. Mel Lukes the owner and Head chef was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and obviously took great care in its design and produce provenance. We were given a complimentary bread basket accompanied by a delicate and vibrant mackerel pate which was delicious. Followed by king prawns cooked in a wonderful spicy butter. The prawns were perfectly cooked and were tender and moist. I had some of the best succulent muscles I have had in a while, very tasty even down to the beautiful liquor which was mopped up with the homemade bread. For the main course we both had the Sole which was cooked to perfection, just fell off the bone, delicately cooked with a caper and samphire accomplishment. Our puddings just finished an excellent meal. All washed down with a very fresh and tasty dry Chenin Blanc. (House wine) The staff were very attentive and the food came out on time. We shall be returning to enjoy more of the extensive menu. Highly recommend.

Food was okay. The owner is rather rude, which left us wanting to eat as quickly as possible so that we could leave. Portions are quite small. Coffee is tasteless and watery, this is the first time I've not finished a coffee. What really ruined this for us was the service due to the rudeness of the owner. It's a shame, as when we go for brunch it's a real treat for us, and this was really disappointing. We won't be returning.

I cannot recommend Luckes enough! Melanie is so passionate about the food she produces and so highly knowledgeable on flavours and presentation. We used Luckes to cater for our wedding and had beautiful salads, quiches, homemade breads and canapés. Everything was delicious and all the guests were so impressed with the quality of the food. Thank you to all who were involved.

Came across this Gem when we last visited Chichester, it's like Doctor Who's Tardis! Really lovely inside, very good quality food and friendly staff. Will be heading straight there for lunch when we next come.

Nice place. Popped in while passing through had a all day breakfast and a latte, sausages were tasty but only just warm. The sourdough toast and the latte was nice. Nice staff, quick service, food is lacking but not awful.

I came here around 2 months ago and put a 5 star review up, back when it was under previous management but it seems they’ve gone incredibly downhill. If I could delete a review I would. The attitude from management is disgusting, pretty much rushing us along the line. They don’t seem like they want to be there or have any care towards the job at all. Please train your management to have better respect towards paying customers, it’s not a good look.

I had a coffee and cake served by the ladies at the real eating company chichester. The staff are well managed and respectful. Nice and peaceful, not noisy. Was as if everything was to my satisfaction, I presume she was the boss, very polite and helpful.

Follow Mr & Mrs R on TikTok. Sandwich was ok but worried that the staff personal hygiene might not be up to standard. Especially as waitress was seen going to and from the one toilet that was working without removing her apron. Look at the photos to see that the cleanliness is very poor. Cobwebs, dead dried insects, crumbs on furniture and filthy walls and skirting boards. Place was almost empty… Great shame, for a company that claims it’s virtue is being independent. This is a chain across the south that I will be avoiding.

3 people Saturday 14th September about 3:30pm. I am quite surprised to see all of the 1* reviews. We were served quickly and by 2 REALLY friendly waitresses called Grace & Ella. We got to sit outside in the sun, tables were cleared quickly. Only had coffees and cakes which were really nice. Would definitely return.

Ordered a cappuccino. £3.50 for a small cup of froth. What little coffee in it was very bitter. Second time. Lady serving was very nice and friendly though. Just can't make coffee.

A basic pub with quite a small selection of beers. Friendly staff but preferred to sit outside due to bad language from some of the customers.

Have been going to this pub for years, it has been Pub #1 on my Chichester pub crawl for the past decade before I moved away. Recently re-visited as I was in the area and it's kept its charm. Welcoming and busy, it's a great pub. I paid over £10 for two bottles of cider however, which I think is a bit much, I think around £4 each is the correct price in this current climate, especially at a time when pubs are wanting people to come, stay and drink multiple drinks. The placement of the pub is another highlight however, with a view of the canal and access to some lovely walks. On the other hand, I would advise this pub to become dog friendly. As it is situated so close to the canal walk, dog walkers ending a stroll along the canal would be a good new customer clientele for this pub.

Had a few drinks nothing much to say but friendly atmosphere and clientele.

Our pre-theatre dinner was quite nice. For starters the prawn cocktail was ok and the mackerel lovely. For main the sea bass tasted great, but the portion size was very small. The calves liver was greatly received and tasty, but the chicken linguine dish lacked seasoning and was stodgy.

Our experience was far from good. We went to No 1 on 29th August to celebrate my cousin's 86 Birthday ,after hearing good reviews. It was "The Birthday Girl's" choice in way of a gift. (I have to say at this point that on her many trips to Chichester, she and her husband usually eat at Brasserie Blanc Restaurant), so this was a first for all of us. We had checked out No 1 online and' there was no mention of the fact that they don't do Al Carte menu at lunch time. It became evident that this menu was more in line for people on the go and not customers who wanted a specially good leisurely luncheon with friends. First thing we noticed was the absence of other customers, which we did think strange given it was 12.30pm. We were offered a very basic menu and although not happy with it, we chose from it. From there everything went downhill. Food was far from good. tough inedible beef and a lack of professional service inasmuch as the small touches expected at good restaurants. The wine chosen from the wine list wasn't the one we ordered and so it went on. The only person who seemed to be working, was the girl who served us. She coped extremely well with what was such a bad situation. At all times she was polite and apologetic. We told her many times that in no way was she to blame. The Management are totally responsible and should be hanging their heads in shame. For such a special occasion, it was a disappointing visit to a restaurant, which we had hoped would be great. My feelings are that you are trying to replicate London Theatre Land Restaurants as we noticed there were so many references to theatre goers. However, if you really only cater for evening diners and theatre goers, perhaps your website should reflect this. Perhaps, given the lack of clientele you shouldn't even bother opening at lunchtimes. You so obviously don't care about daytime diners. I have award 2 stars for the poor girl who had to constantly apologise to us, we felt so sorry that she had been put into such a position by Management.

Booked a table for 6pm on 23 December. My daughter is vegetarian and only main course on set menu for her was a salad - for £15! Website had not shown that there is no a la carte menu. We were initially told "this is the day before Christmas Eve so that's it". Only when I persisted, the chef agreed to do a pasta with pesto dish. It was ok, but not worth £15. Baked goats cheese starter was cold. My smoked salmon was good, but no bread. Steak was tough and grisly (dog liked it later). Overcooked chips. Inexperienced unfriendly staff. I could go on! Final straw was the large noisy crowd who took up residence at the bar and who made further conversation impossible. This place is pretentious and overpriced. We will not be going back.

Disappointing. First and last time. Had whole plaice (listed as place on the menu!). Dreadful salad with it. Tough old WebbsWonder type lettuce hardly edible. Half a cherry tomato, half a slice of cucumber, some slices of onion. Just thrown together on the plate. Crushed potatoes cold, obviously not been in the microwave long enough. Not enjoyable at all. Presentation non existent. Coffee dreadful. Very, very strong like it had been there a long time. All in all not a good experience.

I don't even know where to start with this place. We went as a group of 10 today and won't be returning. There was quite literally *no* service (we had to ask staff over on every occasion), everything was so abysmally slow it took three hours to complete the meal, there was *plastic* in the overcooked cod, we were told the specials menu couldn't be handed out despite it being listed outside on blackboards because the chef's hadn't prepared it, the "fondant potato" was near impossible to cut through, no side plate for prawn shells, elements completely missing from dishes, there was no lime cordial for drinks, the owner was serving his friends directly from the kitchen to the bar...

Drastically dropped in standards from a year ago. It's more like a Wetherspoons attracting the wrong crowd. The tables outside are also not cleaned regularly. No longer No. 1 in my eyes. [Update: they closed their doors.]

Food etc is fine! But the opening times need updating never open on a Sunday! Says 8am opening .... Never when we have visited for Netball competitions! Always closed, checked again at 9:30am and still closed! Opening times need to be kept up to date! However on the few occasions it has been open in the past it's been fab! 👍

I rarely leave reviews, but I really thing this one is necessary. I was so disappointed in the food , one of the worst experiences in my life, Overcoked steak is an understatement, it was hard as rubber sole ,they charged£ 35, insane . What is even more sad is that I was so hungry that I had to eat it . Worst chips I had in my life , the oil was so burnt that literally the chips were bitter . On the contrary the pub is cozy and the staff is nice , maybe for a drink it worth going, definitely not for food . Even though, instead of a cider we got 2 pints of lager 😂

We had a wake here and it was great. Lovely setting, beautiful inside and the garden was lovely. The food was delicious, all home made and very tasty! The sausage rolls were amazing!!

Had a lunch meal there for a Birthday. Food was lovely, service was excellent. Location is relatively easy to find. Would very much recommend a visit.

An excellent, beautifully presented meal! 5 of us had a superb supper with starters, mains and puds. Every course was delicious. Our favourite starters were the prawn bruschetta, smoked mackerel pate and scrumptious baked Camembert. The lamb rump main was cooked perfectly as was the spicy baked salmon dish. We finished with affogatos which were perfect and all we could manage. The service was friendly and all the staff were knowledgeable and there was a brilliant atmosphere. We always have exceptional meals here whether we visit for lunch or supper. The best food in West Sussex!

We've been here a number of times, my wife and myself, my mum and family. I can't rate the rooms but they look very clean and nice as doors were open. We asked for a place near the fire and it was all prepared. We chose to share a squid starter and for some reason opted for pizzas. In all honesty it was probably the best pizza we've ever had. Look it up, as it's a hidden gem. Could have sat there all afternoon and evening ! We will certainly continue to return when in the area. The history of the inn is fantastic so read the overview as well as it will make you want to go there.

Stayed here for 2 nights. The Pub is a lovely 400yr grade 2 listed Pub with ample free parking. The room was very nice, clean and comfortable. The staff were lovely and good at their jobs. The evening food was very good as was the breakfast.

Come here a couple times every year, and the foods always amazing. Last few times we've been served by a lively chap who always makes us laugh. The views from outside are phenomenal looking over the fields of goodwoods countryside. Always a great visit when in the area.

This was our first meal in the UK, and we were looking for fish and chips. The size and quality of the meal was better than expected. Located right on the beach with a nice view of the channel. One word of caution, not about the restaurant, but the parking. Don't make the same mistake we did. You need to pay for parking. We weren't there long and got a ticket.

The Beach has a main inside cafe as well as a seafront outside food truck with plenty of beach view seating! I was peckish for a bacon bap, so I ordered a sausage and bacon bap and as you can see it was absolutely stacked! Great portion sizes here for sure! You receive a buzzer when ordering so that you can find a seat whilst your order is prepared. This truely was a great find and I will definitely be coming here more often in the summer months. I love East Wittering, and The Beach at the beach only makes the town better!

What a great find, welcomed by a helpful gentleman and got a table with a sea view. The staff were all friendly and chatty. The freshly squeezed orange juice hit the spot, followed by a delicious, well cooked, served on a hot plate veggie breakfast. My mum had the potato dish with bacon n sausages, unfortunately it was described as potato slices but was actually broken hash browns but full of bacon and sausage with very well cooked poached eggs. A mum and kids group where there, one child constantly whinning and not addressed by mother which continued for most of our meal, until the traffic warden arrived and the mums left, the childs noise ruined the ambience for us and people around us who were also commenting. Would go back

A busy Monday lunch time and the team were obviously short staffed yet managed to accommodate us and look after us as if they had all the staff members! I had the fish finger sandwich (may as well have been fish and chips with some beautifully baked bread) and the hubby had the moules frites. Never a bigger bowl of moules had we seen!

Surprised to get a table at 9am on a Saturday… now I can see why. Coffee took 20 minutes to arrive and there were only three other tables in. I ordered French toast and was given plain, floppy bread that hadn’t seen a pan, let alone an egg. My husband’s “overnight oats” were more like “five-minutes-ago oats” - cold, rushed, and sad. The staff at the front were lovely but clearly left to fend for themselves, with no backup from management as there was no one there. Honestly, I left hungry and baffled. Won’t be back - unless it’s to return the bread so it can finish becoming toast.

EDIT: Since becoming The Beach, it doesn’t seem as good as it once was. My previous 5 star and comment below was certainly typical of a usual visit for breakfast for example. However, the latest visit in July 2025 had cold food, ingredients of a lesser quality, low stock and the flat white served in the smallest cup available I couldn’t even get my finger in the handle. Such a shame. I hope things improve but I doubt we’d be back for a while. Always a pleasure to visit!

The Anchor Bleu was very busy on the evening we visited Bosham. At first, we couldn't get a table as it was packed. Good sign, we thought. We decided to have a walk around the waters edge before returning. When we went back, we were given a friendly welcome and a table at the back of the pub. Menues on the chalkboard, with plenty of choice. Service was efficient and came with a smile. Our food was great, especially my sea bass 🤩 Great location too
