Restaurant
Located in the heart of Carrick-on-Shannon, The Oarsman is a new restaurant that offers a modern twist on Irish cuisine with seasonal, local, and foraged dishes. This award-winning pub/restaurant opened in July 2020 and has quickly become popular for its homemade burgers, fish goujons, and chunky chips.
Absolutely loved the food and atmosphere here. Delicious bread and amazing delicate hake. Loved the live music too! Staff were also extremely friendly.

Visited on a Wednesday evening while in the area. First impressions were really good but then didn't live up to expected standards. Were told that normally they would bring out bread for the table but we couldn't have any as had run out. Fair enough... Ordered fish and chips and was brought vinegar that was (unbeknownst to us) broken as didn't have the pouring stopper so vinegar soaked the entire meal. Waitress gave no apology for that just say 'oh did it ruin your meal'. The cheese plate dessert should have included 3 local cheeses. We were given 2 cheeses, but one of them cut in two ways to look different but was clearly the same cheese. No one spoke to us to say they had run out or to give us the option to change the order. The attitude was that we wouldn't notice, which is rude/arrogant/disrespectful. Our server dissappeared, we couldn't order any more drinks and no one came to check on us. In fact we had to go and find someone to be able to pay. Upon raising the issue about the cheese, the waitress just walked off and left us waiting without any information before the manager came out and did take accountability for the cheese issue and offered 10% discount. Honestly the dish should have just been removed from the bill but there we are. Food was ok. The cod was nice, but tartare sauce too strong with citrus. Cheese plate poor, even a 3rd cheese wouldn't have improved it, the "crackers" were not pleasant or suitable. The live music was pleasant. Visit let down by service, felt we were dismissed as non locals so wouldn't recommend to fellow tourists.

Chicken wings and pan seared hake were divine. Atmosphere was mellow with great live acoustic guitar music even on a Tuesday night. Highly recommend if in the area!

Excellent food and service with background music. Authentic cuisine, very friendly staff, and a very comfy environment. Highly recommend!!
Aldo S — Google review
Arguably the best restaurant in Carrick-on-Shannon. We made a reservation however there was space for walk ins. The food and service is outstanding, well presented main courses and a selection of freshly made desserts.
Roy C — Google review
Great food, wonderful, friendly and attentive staff, a cozy, beautiful interior, and the dessert was absolutely delightful. I will definitely come back again!

What a lovely place staff were friendly attentive and extremely knowledgeable about the food they were serving the whole ambiance was calm moodyold world live music was played in the background never overpowering the ability to chat and soak up the place then the food comes wow ive never had chicken wings taste so goods went on to the Munk fish and finished with chocolate tart at no time did we feel rushed but were allowed to rest savour and enjoy the experience I cant recommend this restaurant enough and thank the staff for a most enjoyable Anniversary meal

Went for a birthday celebration. Being Scots living in Ireland we were thrilled to hear Wild Mountain Tyme being played on a classic guitar (my wife thought I'd arranged it). Food & service were great and the guitar music in the background is lovely. So nice to hear familiar Scottish tunes being played very professionally. Thanks to you all for a lovely evening. We hope to be back.

Italian restaurant
Family restaurant
Irish restaurant
Vitto's Restaurant & Bar is a centrally located Italian eatery in Carrick-on-Shannon, offering authentic Italian cuisine. The restaurant has received praise for its excellent variety of mains, shared pizza starters, and delicious desserts. Visitors have also commended the first-class service provided by the staff members Donncha and Bella. On the other hand, some guests have expressed dissatisfaction with the unfriendly staff and lackluster atmosphere.
Big shoutout to Vittos for an amazing meal! The food was absolutely delicious, and the staff were so warm and welcoming—it made the whole experience even better. Such a great spot for a meal, highly recommend!
Anna — Google review
What a fantastic family run restaurant- wonderful service from all the team. The food was so good our first night here that we came back the next evening, and it didn't disappoint- you have to try the wings, out of this world! Great value for money too.
Tracey C — Google review
Booked early in the day for the night sitting for six people visiting Carrick on Shannon. Had a guest along who needed access assistance. The manager Dijon who took the booking, had spotted our arrival outside and promptly provided assistance and a table close by. A very enjoyable evening from start to finish, very well looked after and food/drink delicious. Highly recommended.
Maria B — Google review
Very good food, I had a stuffed chicken and we had garlic bread for a starter, they were both very good. It was raining outside which made it a perfect Escape from the weather. The server was very nice and did a great job. The restaurant was very beautiful, very open, they chose a great location. The atmosphere was very nice and we had a lovely time. I was a bit annoyed because there were children seated next to us, but that's not really the restaurants fault and they did also give the kids food quickly to keep them quiet which I appreciate. The chicken was 22.9 euro I think, but don't take my word for it. Garlic bread was around 5-6, so it will be around 25 per person I'd say. Overall good food, great service, nice restaurant and for a good price.

Great food, friendly staff, high recommended
Paulina K — Google review
We arrived here for a meal after my performance at the market yard. It was great for accessibility, they had a high chair for my daughter and a good option for children's meals. The food tasted very good and the staff were very polite. We couldn't get outdoor sitting due to the performance outside had the outdoor space swamped. I gave service two stars because there was unnecessary delays with our burgers and others after us were served earlier. I ordered the Hawaiian Spicy Chicken Burger which was quite good. I'd recommend, my wife ordered the Vitto's burger which is the signature burger and she said it was dry, bland and unnecessarily thick. She didn't really like it. However they gave our daughter complimentary lollipop. I'd recommend.
Kid M — Google review
A very nice place, warm an hommy, located at very short distance from the marina (where we rent a boat) we were with children and soon as we sat down, the waitress gave the kids crayons and papers so the can get themselves bussy while we making the order. We ordered from the vegan/vegetarian menu, pizzas, salad and pasta which all were just fantastic, nicely served and very generous . I recommend this place if you happen to be there! We traveled there during mid of September 2025

Amazing Italian restaurant. Took my three children here and I couldn’t be more impressed with the friendly service, the options for children and the overall flexibility. The food for adults was good too. Had three courses and enjoyed them all. Will be back in the future.

Buffalo Boy is a charming steakhouse located in Carrick on Shannon, offering a fusion of Irish, European, and Malaysian cuisine. The restaurant caters to both meat-eaters and non-meat-eaters with an array of vegan and vegetarian options. Their lunch and dinner menus feature delectable dishes such as beef nachos, pulled pork burgers, and racks of ribs. The two-storey establishment provides excellent service in a lively atmosphere.
Fantastic quality of food and brilliant service here. The fillet steak is beautiful and always cooked to perfection. Gorgeous cocktails and good wine menu. Great vibe too.
Cathriona D — Google review
Absolutely fine food ever, very great menu, burgers and wings are so delicious, staff is always checking on you, no food delays, atmosphere is calm. Highly recommended 👌
Mariya — Google review
This restaurant is only getting three stars because it was okay and I know I won’t be rushing back. Each course had some element that didn’t work for me. Everything looked good but for the prices it charges I believe it’s punching way above its ability. On the good side the staff were lovely and accommodating and the atmosphere was okay also. There is a lot more restaurants offering better quality for the prices that are charged here.
Thomas C — Google review
Went for my husband's birthday. Had a lovely evening. Fab food and service. The food arrived quickly too! Cheesy chips was something different for an accomplishment.. Yum 😋. Got a mocktail for myself. The glass was over loaded with ice and very little drink. The price did not justify the size. The restaurant was breezy and cold though.
Ramya M — Google review
Have not tried the food yet, This Guinness review cannot wait, on my multiple day long Shannon river journey, Ive had some truly amazing Pints of magical dark red beverages. This was the best. Review on food to follow: Service was nice, pen and paper looks cooler but I appreciate the innovation with the digital notepads- Slán go foíll
Mark C — Google review
Always a great time! Cold glasses for a pint, nice spicy wings with blue cheese, big hamburgers, ribs are delicious! Staff are welcoming and attentive!
Martin B — Google review
This is a strange one. Everything was literally just ok, nothing really hit the mark. The bbq sauce had big chunks of black pepper in it but the ribs were tender. The batter on the chicken chunks was burnt but the chicken wasn't dry. The hot chicken wings were by far the worst thing I've ever tried, they tasted sour or off, 1 bite and I was done. My husband says the steak sandwich I make at home is better. The best thing was the nice staff. Dessert were also just ok and the latte was cold. If you are planning on trying this place make sure you book as it floats some boats and seems busy. Not for me I'm afraid, out of 3 different courses x 2 people there wasn't 1 that would bring me back.
Lisa C — Google review
Heard about this place several times, finally managed to get in on short notice today. Top class service from Jonathon. Food was lovely too, ribs falling off the bone and the cauliflower wings were excellent too. Will be back!

I think this might’ve been my favourite restaurant experience I’ve had in my life!! The atmosphere was delightful, the food was incredible, the service was great and they included personal touches for our celebration. 100% go here if you find yourself in Carrick 😋 🙌🏼
Laura R — Google review
I went to the Red Bank for my birthday with my wife and daughter, we had their steak, a cocktail and barbecue chicken wings as a starter. As far as fine dining I think this is one of the closest you will find in Carrick-On-Shannon and Leitrim as a county, the service was top notch and they had a child chair for my daughter who is a toddler. The steak was great and the plating and presentation was very good, only downside was some part of my steak was a bit chewy. Their cocktails are to die for, myself and the Mrs had two different cocktails and we were impressed, the chicken wings came with a barbecue sauce and some infusion dressing, it was a winner for me. Overall 4/5 Stars. Great experience and value for money.
Kid M — Google review
Nice quite spot just a short walk away from the often very lively main street. The food was delicious and very reasonable priced. Staff was very helpful and friendly. They told us as everything was freshly prepared it might take a little longer but actually it didn't (seem) to take that long at all. We definitely come back again when we are in Carrick
Toine S — Google review
Amazing restaurant. Service and food were top notch. Had the goats cheese and beetroot to start and the slow cooked beef for mains. Both were spectacular…
Daithi M — Google review
One of the best meals we’ve had. Nicola looked after our every need and the food was nothing short of fantastic. If the T-Bone is available don't pass it by but the Braised Beef is also outstanding.

Diner
I visited BR Cafe & Bistro for lunch and had the pleasure of meeting the owners, Bashkim and Ramona, who were extremely friendly and welcoming. The establishment left a lasting impression on me for its exceptional service and pleasant atmosphere. I was so impressed that I returned for dinner later that day with my family of four. My partner, who is expecting, experienced some difficulties in keeping down certain foods due to her pregnancy. Despite finding the pasta delicious, she struggled with the sauce.
We went to this place at lunch on a Sunday so it was quite quiet. Food was fantastic, a little on the expensive side but worth it was a treat we had a main, dessert and a drink each and it came to €73 so a little over 30€ each. I had the beef kofta and my husband had the burger, we also had pudding here which was amazing, I had the salted caramel roulade and he had the chocolate tart thingy 🤣 all of it tasted amazing and my alcohol free cocktail tasted like sherbet and I loved it!
Jade F — Google review
Very tasty place. One of my favorites. Great food, nice staff, delicious cocktails, cozy atmosphere. I recommend!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely loved this place! The food was delicious, full of flavour and beautifully presented. The wine and cocktails were lovely. The restaurant is stunningly decorated with beautiful art, creating such a lovely atmosphere. The owners are warm and welcoming too. We’ll definitely be back!
NM M — Google review
This was a cosy, intimate restaurant which was perfect for a family dinner, couples dinner, a bite to eat, or a staff dinner! The service was fantastic from start to finish- very attentive and friendly staff! The food was amazing. For starters, we had the zucchini and focaccia- both were seasoned exceptionally and extremely hot. For mains, we had the prawns & chorizo pil pil and the rib eye steak. The flavours from the pil pil were unreal- a thoroughly enjoyable and satisfactory meal. The rib eye was cooked to liking, was tender and juicy- chips were also lovely. Peppercorn sauce was a beautiful addition . For dessert, we shared the chocolate mousse tart. It was extremely chocolately and a great dessert to share- however it wasn’t as mousse like as we anticipated. Only downfalls- the focaccia was slightly burnt (not an issue for us as it was beautifully seasoned & hot) and there was limited non-alcoholic beverages (again a minor thing).
Lauren K — Google review
The restaurant has a lovely interior and a pleasant atmosphere — it's clear that effort has gone into the design. However, during my visit, the service did not quite meet expectations. At one point, our plates were taken before we had fully finished, which felt a bit rushed. Toward closing time, the music was turned up quite loud and frequently adjusted in volume, which made it clear that the evening was coming to an end. A polite verbal reminder about closing hours might have been a more comfortable approach. As for the desserts, while the menu descriptions were creative, the flavours didn’t quite match the anticipation. In my experience, the desserts may not be the highlight here — perhaps better suited to those with simpler preferences. All in all, it’s a beautifully presented place that may suit some better than others depending on what you're looking for in a dining experience.
Wanderer R — Google review
Fabulous restaurant, very attentive and well trained staff, delicious food. I had the Koftas main which were delicious but i was disappointed with the portion size for the price, as I was still starved after eating it. Nonetheless that was just my experience and the people accompanying me, their portions were generous. Would return.
Adrian W — Google review
Five stars for this Five star venue. Food was out of this world not only presentation but the taste. From starters, to main to dessert. Absolutely delicious. Fantastic Covid guidelines followed, very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent seating arrangements, would definitely recommend and will be back to sample more from the tempting menu.

The Barrelstore is a spacious venue in Kildare that offers a wide selection of beers from Rye River Brewing Co. It seems to be popular for stag parties and hen nights, as it was filled with male customers during the day but more female customers arrived later in the evening. The place features a pool table and has a great atmosphere for enjoying with friends. Visitors have praised the accommodating manager and friendly staff, as well as the exciting decor and spacious beer garden.

Has a range of beers from Rye River Brewing Co., Kildare. For some reason, on the day that I visited the whole place was filled with male customers, like around 100 of them, with only one female. More female customers arrived when it was near 8pm. Interesting. Maybe a venue popular for stag parties and hen night. There's a pool table at the back. Good place to enjoy with friends.

Nestled in the charming town of Carrick on Shannon, "My Kitchen by Sham Hanifa" is a vibrant and inviting eatery that promises an unforgettable dining experience. With its bright and spacious ambiance, this restaurant serves up a diverse menu featuring delightful Buddha bowls like bibimbap and poke, alongside the chef's renowned Rendang. Guests can also indulge in an array of delectable house-made desserts and cakes throughout the day.
Like the Cottage, this is also a 5-star spot. Breakfast was fantastic. Interior & staff were great & they had a lovely section of in-house sauces. Lots of free parking in front of the cafe. If this cafe was in Dublin, there would've been a queue out the door.

My aunt took me out to lunch when I arrived. This place was busy! The decor is unreal, really pretty and buzzing atmosphere. As a vegan there wasn’t many options or really any. Luckily I was able to get the veggie curry (not the curry of the day) but it was the only option so I was a bit disappointed. Although allergies are listed, there isn’t anything offering “can be made veggie or vegan”. The food was alright, I think it needed a bit more flavor and the veggies cooked a bit more. As a vegan I wouldn’t come back here to eat, but maybe for a coffee, as the vibes were immaculate. Come here if you eat meat though. Although it was busy, we didn’t have to wait too long for a table.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at My Kitchen by Shan Hanifa in Carrick on Shannon, County Leitrim, and I must say it was an incredible experience from start to finish. The food, ambiance, and everything about this restaurant exceeded my expectations. Firstly, let's talk about the food. The menu offered a fantastic range of options, and each dish I tried was an absolute delight. The flavors were exquisite, and the presentation was top-notch. Whether you're a fan of traditional Irish cuisine or crave international flavors, My Kitchen has something to satisfy every palate. The chef's attention to detail and use of fresh, high-quality ingredients truly shone through in every bite. Moreover, the ambiance of the restaurant was simply captivating. The interior design struck a perfect balance between modern elegance and warm, inviting atmosphere. The dining area was well-appointed, with comfortable seating and beautiful décor. It created a cozy and intimate setting that enhanced the overall dining experience. Furthermore, the service at My Kitchen was impeccable. The staff members were attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. They went above and beyond to ensure that my dining experience was memorable. From recommending dishes to providing prompt service, their professionalism was commendable. Overall, My Kitchen by Shan Hanifa is a hidden gem in Carrick on Shannon. If you're looking for a place with exceptional food, a delightful ambiance, and outstanding service, this restaurant should be at the top of your list. I can't recommend it enough. My visit was truly unforgettable, and I will definitely be returning in the future.

Highly recommended. I have to say this is one of the best food, coffee and chai latte I've ever had. Food is very tasty and price is also reasonable. They also have a little shop on the side with a variety of goodies ie. Chef Sham's Sauce and other local produce which I found very good especially if you want to have a look around while you are waiting for your food. Found our new favourite spot in Carrick-On-Shannon. Slight improvement needed on table assignments as when we went here it was quite busy and there is no staff at the door to greet you and give you a table. It would be good also to have a waiting area aand a staff to greet you at entrance. Other than that, everything is excellent. We will definitely be back.

Had a breakfast date with my wife today. We ordered the full Irish breakfast, with the pumpkin spiced latte. Everything was very good. Especially loved the coffee. Only crique, the bacon and pudding might have been kept a bit too long in the warmer, it was a bit over cooked. Other than that, the atmosphere was terrific, staff was friendly and sufficient place to sit inside or outside. Highly recommended.

I’ve been to Esquires in Carrick-on-Shannon many times and have never had a bad experience. The staff are always very friendly and welcoming, which really adds to the atmosphere. The Superfood Salad deserves top marks — absolutely delicious and consistently fresh. It’s one of my go-to options whenever I visit. The coffee is great too, though it can be a little pricey when you opt for non-dairy milk. That said, I really can’t fault it overall — the quality is there. Highly recommend for a healthy bite and a relaxing coffee stop!

Between Sligo and Dublin, this was always the pit stop - we will never stop there again. High prices, poor service, bad quality, never going back. Food: frozen petrol station sausage rolls for four euros each. Smoothies taste like a yoplait yoghurt drink. I think they have never had a smoothie. Service: ordered two lattes, got two flat whites, and then they told us that we were wrong, showing us the receipt to prove it when it was their error. For the sake of a few cents in oat milk the attitude was astonishing, they would prefer to lose a customer. Coffee: run of the mill gas station coffee for speciality prices. Get a hold of yourselves, you’re in a retail park car park.

Great service and nice selection of treats for all the family. The wooden barrel seating area is a favourite with the kids. Staff are fantastic and the service is excellent. A must stop when driving through Carrick on Shannon.

Popular spot for families for a nice meal, we stopped there en route to Donegal. Lots of parking space. The store has interesting selection too. We sat down for lunch, had the hot & spicy buffalo wings and the blue cheese caramelised onions burger both of which were totally delicious. The service was great too.

It’s a good stop over spot if you find yourself in carrick on shannon. It was my second time there. You can tell they use good ingredients. Burger, falafel and Smoothie was really tasty !
Rohit M — Google review
Food was quite nice here. I had the chicken burger with the cheesy and garlic chips which were lovely. Food came quickly and the staff were really friendly, especially the girl who took my order. Only negative is the toilets - the soap dispenser was hanging off the wall which made it difficult to get any soap so that needs fixed. Otherwise this was a lovely place and I’d recommend it. They also do buns and cakes, teas, coffees etc if you’re wanting something a little less filling.

A surprise find on a road trip to Donegal. My wife saw it and I made a u-turn too go back. Well worth doing. Easy parking - much easier than in town. The food was really good and good value, and it seemed to be popular with locals, which is always a good sign. This will definitely be our lunch stop in future when we head up.

I love it when a cafe has a large selection of vegetarian food! This means that any of them will be of excellent quality. My husband also really liked the meat dishes. There is only one place in Ireland that made such a good impression on me.

Usually love the hamburgers there, my partner went to get one to go yesterday (the same one we usually get)and this is what we got. No sauce, no lettuce, not same quality patty. For 10€ thats disappointing.

Truly, truly great atmosphere very lively but Peaceful. Chicken wings there were divine ✨✨chef kiss. If you’re interested they also have a small shop with some of the organic ingredients they use in their food. Moderately priced I wouldn’t be eating there every night let’s put it that way 😂💵🤑 but yes definitely if you’re in the area you should try it out👍

As a loyal customer of Coffey's Pastry Case, I am consistently impressed by their exceptional service and delectable offerings. The employees are always cordial and accommodating, ensuring a pleasant visit each time. Their menu boasts an array of mouthwatering treats, from savory pastries to delightful desserts. Additionally, the outdoor seating area along the canal provides a picturesque setting for both patrons and their furry companions.
Absolutely outstanding service! The girls there are so helpful and nice. I ran in last week and grabbed a pre-prepared sandwich and it was lovely so I said I would do the same today except there was no pre-made available so the very helpful lady made it up to order and it was even nicer than last week (no tomatoes please 😆). It was very busy as it always is but they always go the extra mile for their customers.

Furthermore, it offers outdoor seating in a public square where patrons can enjoy generous portions of fresh homemade soup, toasties, ciabatta's, and bagels.
A lovely lunch spot! We had two toasties & they were excellent 🙌🏼 Can be so hard to find a really good toastie but this place knows how to do them well! The bread was just toasted to perfection & they don’t skimp on the fillings. Staff couldn’t have been nicer & the place itself is really cute. We also noticed that the prices were really reasonable! A sign outside the courtyard on the footpath to advertise the cafe would be a great idea as I only knew about it through some googling & I think passers by would easily miss it? Highly recommend!

Amazing place run by amazing people. Hearty and delicious sandwiches. Smooth coffee, delish scones, fluffy pancakes 😋 Nothing on their menu will disappoint on top of being super affordable with generous sizes. I also love that they sell clay jewelry at the entrance of the shop and I got the chance to buy a necklace from a local artist that works at the cafe too. Thanks guys!

Terrible service. The waiter took over 20 minutes to take our order. Our drinks were served almost immediately after our order was taken, but then we waited almost two hours for a simple breakfast that never arrived. One of my friends got up to ask what was going on and why we weren't served before the other arriving customers. My friend paid for the drinks, and we left. We were very patient waiting so long. We didn't leave early out of courtesy, but I think the service was very rude, and we obviously won't be back. I don't know if the manager or the owners don't train their staff or if they genuinely don't care about providing better service for new customers.

Stumbled upon this little gem at a hen party over the weekend. Had a lovely hangover fry and coffee, the mushrooms were to die for!! Best part was the staff, so friendly and welcoming. Slow service and dirty spoon seprised us. Hope it was just a mistake. Ice cream was good, but nobody cleaned our table after the other visitors. Almost 20 euro for such a service was definitely overpriced.

We have eaten here quite a few times and the food is consistently fantastic and the service is normally very good too. On our most recent trip when it came to paying, I asked the waitress to round up the bill to include a tip as I was paying by card. She told me that she 'would like to let me know that waiting staff prefer to receive tips as cash because if its on a card they have to pay tax.' She said it was ok this time but she was letting me know for the future..... I can honestly say that this has never been said to me anywhere before. I've worked as a waitress myself and was always appreciative of tips, no matter how they were paid to me.

Stopped on our way to Sligo and went for the vegetarian option which had a good selection on offer. Food was excellent but overshadowed by poorly trained inexperienced staff. Our meal was abruptly landed on the table by a young waiter with thumbs and fingers where they should not be , a polite enjoy your meal sir led to a request for cutlery and our drinks selection. On review of the bill an over charge for a side dish , billed as a main which nailed the lid on our decision not to return or recommend.

Nestled on the outskirts of Carrick on Shannon, Supermac's & Papa John's is a vibrant fast-food haven that promises an array of American-style delights. This dynamic duo serves up everything from juicy burgers and crispy fries to mouthwatering pizzas, making it the perfect stop for those craving a quick yet satisfying meal. The Full Irish Breakfast with Fries is a standout option, available only during specific hours, while the Chicken Burger at Supermac's boasts a delicious sauce that elevates its flavor profile.
Credit due to the young man who was working on the drive through on the afternoon of 23rd September, very mannerly, polite and enthusiastic young lad with a big smile on his face, a credit to the business.

This place does really good food. 🥘 The Full Irish Breakfast with Fries is very nice. They only serve the Breakfast until a certain time. 🕰️ The Pizza in Papa John’s is really nice. 👍 The only gripe I might have is the food is a little bit pricey but inside the decor is nice. Plenty of seating too. The Chicken Burger in Supermac’s is very nice and the sauce on the Burger is beautiful. 🍔The Cookies are very tasty as well. 🍪The heated Chocolate Chip Muffin in Ice Cream is very beautiful. 🍨Enjoy! 😀
Jason W — Google review
I’m giving this location a one star rating simply because wheelchair access and egress is a joke. There is a nice ramp going into the establishment, but the door leads to a fire exit door therefore it cannot be opened from the outside. This forces the wheelchair patron to have to navigate through the drive thru lane to gain access to the establishment. This wheelchair access/egress pattern is very poorly thought out and is simply a “token” inclusivity gesture. For such a new looking location, this is very poor on SuperMac’s part. Shame on you!

ordered food and a cup of tea. waited 20 mins for the milk and by the time I got in my car and drive off. the food was cold and tea. Couldn't turn around. staff are over worked. Noticed the small space and amount of staff in that space trying to deal with rush hour. My heart goes to the staff

The cashier got our order wrong, then the service lady brought our order to the wrong table where they started to eat it as we werent allowed stand and wait for our food. Its table service. When we brought this to their attention they took the food back off them and tried to give us some of the food that the other people had touched. Chicken tenders were stone cold. They also tried to give 1 piece of drumstick in the kids meal. Awful experience. Flies all over the restaurant too.

Normally a great experience when getting food from this place,,but up to 3 managers standing around given out to one of the waiting staff members,,,for a wrong order that he had messed-up,,,not great leadership,,but I'm sure he felt good about abusing the poor girl in front of the paying people,,,not a good look!!!some one might want to get retrained in how to speak to staff&customers!!!! Cake Me Away Anna Kaczmarek is a charming artisan cafe and confectionary bakery located in Carrick on Shannon. Situated near the town's post office, it offers a delectable selection of in-house baked cakes and desserts, along with freshly brewed coffee. The cafe is known for its warm and welcoming atmosphere, with friendly staff ready to serve patrons as soon as they walk through the door.
It’s lunchtime in Carrick on Shannon, and the sun is trying hard to break through the clouds and drizzle of a dreary May Day. Take me away to somewhere warm, where food looks good, and coffee tastes great…. Warm might be beyond our control, but “Cake me Away” have the food, treats and coffee sorted. A little café with a big attitude, fresh ciabattas filled with all sorts of loveliness, bagels and the freshest sourdough sandwiches, wrapped up in paper and string. PAPER AND STRING!!!! This little touch shows the care in preparation of these lovely offerings, it’s a tiny detail, but makes them stand out from the crowd. I had a toasted garlic mayo ciabatta, which was incredibly fresh and tasty, but there were so many other things I would love to try, and I’ll gradually work through their extensive menu on future trips to Carrick! Sweet Thing, by Van Morrison was playing away in my head as I tried to narrow down the wall of gorgeousness that is the cake section. The vast array of different desserts is unreal, with something for every palate. A little biscotti cake had my name allllllllll over it. Glorious decadence at its finest. Hats off to wherever they get their coffee beans, they are smooth and luscious, and my latte was served in what can only be described as a bucket. Another lovely eatery… maybe we want the Parisienne boulevards, but for today, cafe culture is alive and well, and it’s on the streets of Carrick on Shannon. 10/10, will eat the entire menu.

I stop in for coffee here nearly every day, it’s the only spot in Carrick that makes it just the way I like. The staff are incredibly friendly; we’re on a first-name basis, and they know my order as soon as I walk through the door. I’ve also ordered custom cupcakes for special occasions, and they’ve always been delicious and beautifully made. You can really see the passion Anna puts into her work. The display of cakes is always so tempting, it’s a challenge not to try one of everything! Definitely do not miss out on coming here whenever you're in town.

Today me and my partner went to this restaurant. We weren’t greeted and stood awkwardly near the till for the first 5 minutes. A server then told us we could order at the till and then find our own seats. She then indicated to a stack of menus and waited for us to order. My partner ordered a crepe and was told they couldn’t do crepes with no reasoning, at which point she ordered pancakes. Once we ordered all of the available tables and seats either had dirt/food on them or had previous customers plates and cups on them. Once we picked our seat we received our coffees, which were nice and one of the food items we ordered. This was a tuna sandwhich which for 7.50€ was tiny and far from substantial. My partner was offered 2 or 4 pancakes and selected 2 as we assumed they would be reasonably substantial. We were incorrect and were served two of the tiniest pancakes with a scatter of bacon. We left disappointed and hungry, we went to McDonald’s afterwards as we were still starved.

McDonald's Carrick on Shannon is the perfect spot for a quick and tasty meal, especially if you have kids in tow. The familiar fast-food chain offers all your favorite classics, served up by a friendly and efficient crew. It's a go-to destination for those seeking the comfort of familiar flavors and reliable service.
The food was really fresh. We stopped after a long drive and a long day on the beach that was an excellent stop-over place. The place was very clean and tidy, it wasn't busy when we arrived. Staff could be more friendly. However, they did their basic work and gave food in timely manner. I would recommend as we were few families travelling with kids.

Lads, I think I'm speaking for all of Carrick here - please start getting orders right. Life is hard but we all do our bit. If I select 4 specific dips with a single meal and I can't even get the 4 dips that are wrote on the screen with the meal, then I'm worried about the how the other tasks are managed. Not saying the job is a breeze like but for frogs sake, can't be that hard to give a small fries instead of medium and the correct dips.. Apart from that, nice food 😂
Dennis A — Google review
Of course this McDonalds is not as good as in Ukraine or Poland, but it is the best McDonalds in Ireland I have been in so far. The tables are almost always clean, and the orders are prepared for not very long (to compare to Dublins Macdonalds). Probably one of the best in Ireland.
Serhii P — Google review
On every drive-through, it's glacially slow and clearly consistently understaffed. If this is a strategy by management to keep costs down, they're obviously not bothered by Google reviews. If you're planning on using the drive-through, here are some tips: 1. Give yourself a half hour. 2. Triple check your order before leaving the window. 3. See no.1
Paul K — Google review
When we arrived through the door at McDonald's the smell of toilets/sewers really was strong. Because of this we decided to not eat in as originally planned. So we ordered at the touchscreen and ordered takeaway. We ordered our first spicy chicken mc nuggets of the year. Was really looking forward to them as haven't had them in ages. What we recieved was spicy nuggets that looked like they were there for hours in a heater to keep them warm, overdone warm and practically uneditable. If you threw one it would make a noise if hit something. If we hadn't of left would have gone straight back to the counter. Once the worker came with our order that was on a tray. He asked was it takeout. Which we had already had put at the touchscreen sonit should say takeout. Here he manged to knock over our chips which was a large. He then asked us did we want to pick up the chips off the tray as he does not want to do this. We refused and in the end went away with a chuck of our chips missing. We would have gotten over this if it wasn't for the spicy chicken nuggets. Worst McDonald's we have had in a very long time. From the second we walked in to the eating of our food. I must say the only thing i could not complain about is the chilli cheese bites as these were done to order. But I expect to be able to go somewhere without there been a issue especially with the order that we ordered as it wasn't a massive order with burgers. Very disappointed and would suggest you get someone to check the toilets as the smell was very unpleasant. Will not be back in a hurry.
Clare R — Google review
Atmosphere was nice. Very long wait time, but we were compensated for the very long waiting time with 2 brownies and 2 cookies. One complaint is that there was a lot more lettuce then normal on my big Mac. But I was still able to eat it. It was just a little annoying.
Corey K — Google review
Ordered 3 burgers at the drive through at 10.11pm, 2 cheese burgers and one chicken, I'm writing this review as I wait. Waited over 20 minutes, burgers were cold, no heat whatsoever. I understand places can be understaffed but this place is a joke compared to other McDonald's.
Gerard K — Google review
Waited nearly 40 years for McDonalds to come to Carrick and to be honest it’s so so disappointing. I just drive to Sligo or Longford to get good service. The restaurant is absolutely FREEEEEZING cold. The food gets really cold very quickly as the A/C is up full whack. The staff are not interested in their job. On two occasions I saw them drag a smelly mop around and it stinks out the restaurant.

A hidden gem. I'm still thinking about my pizza 3 days later, it was so good. My husband enjoyed his pasta dish, and chatting to the chef.

The people who own this place are so lovely. I can tell they work really hard for this restaurant. Myself and 7 other hungover people came to this restaurant for a greasy breakfast and did we get! There is no messing in square corner. They get the food on point and it’s perfect for what it is! Ps. Waffle breakfast sandwich is the best creation. I’d recommend. Don’t get coffee Fair play to the young lad as well! Super cheap place!

Very nice little restaurant, the food is amazing and owner was very friendly and helpful, there was 5 of us including 2 kiddies which were occupied from the range of games they offered. The atmosphere was very relaxed and there was kids drawings all over the walls and ceiling like a little memorial which is very cutesy I must say.Everyone left very happy, satisfied and very full. The portions were a lot so it’s definitely worth the money and the service was quick enough. We will be returning many times when we’re in town

Best pizza in Carrick on Shannon. 😋😋😋 The owner is super friendly and we had a chat about pizza dough and what makes a good pizza. He knows what he's doing, I can't wait to go back and have another pizza, class 😋😋😋

I wholeheartedly recommend Square Corner to all my friends; it's a culinary gem where you can't go wrong. The food is not just delicious; it's a revelation. The moment you step inside, you're welcomed with open arms and an atmosphere that's as friendly as it is welcoming. Choosing what to eat is a delightful challenge because everything on the menu is a tantalizing experience waiting to happen. It's a tantalizing culinary journey, and your taste buds will thank you for it. During my visit, I had the pleasure of savoring a dish that surpassed all expectations: the divine pasta with salmon. The flavors danced together in perfect harmony, and every bite was a culinary symphony. It's a dish that will linger in your memory long after the last bite. Don't hesitate; make Square Corner your next dining destination. Your taste buds will thank you, and you'll be eager to introduce your friends to this culinary treasure. It's more than just a meal; it's an experience that nourishes both the body and the soul.

food was delicious and came out efficiently. our server Joshua was so friendly and made sure to have a nice and welcoming conversation with us both times we had went in. food portions are incredible for the price and it is very well priced. the staff in Square Corner are amazing and so friendly, even having a conversation with us before we left which made the experience a lot better for us as we were only visiting the area. young Joshua made sure everything we had was perfect and even made small light hearted jokes with us after seeing us twice in the same day. overall an amazing experience would 100/10 recommend this lovely restaurant to everyone. highly recommend the strawberry waffle to everyone !

Opening hours on Google incorrect. Planned to eat there recently but turned up to find that it was closed. Picked this ahead of all other places in town so very frustrating to find that it was closed.

If you're in Carrick-on-Shannon and craving a quick bite, look no further than Apache Pizza & Big Bites. This fast-food gem is known for its speedy service and friendly staff, making it a favorite among locals and visitors alike. The menu boasts an array of delicious options, but the standout has to be their spice bag—an irresistible mix of grilled peppers, onions, and tender chicken that keeps patrons coming back for more.
I've been to about 6 different Apache Pizzas across Ireland and the one in Carrick on Shannon has to be my favourite. It was a tough call since Tobercurry Apache pizza is newly opened this year but a close second to Carrick on Shannon? Carrick on Shannon Apache pizza you can expect yummy food quickly made by pleasant staff and the most delicious spice bag ever. It's just something about how they grill the peppers and onions Before adding the chopped chicken pieces, delicious highly recommend.

I ordered a delivery by phone from Apache Carrick this evening, it was being delivered out to Lough Key Forest Park and they did charge a lot for delivery (15) but it was cheaper then a taxi both ways and the pizza was delivered within 45 minutes, not bad considering the distance. Driver was very friendly too. The food as I have experienced before was as good as ever, I only gave the 4* because of the delivery charge
Peter R — Google review
Not happy with delivery service. Driver was very rude and was shouting at my 14 year old daughter for the restaurant forgetting our food. I also had to pay extra money at the door when I payed full price on the just eat app. disgraceful carry on. When I was on the phone to the takeaway they hung up on me. When delivery driver came back with the forgotten food the garlic dip was from a different takeaway and much smaller than what I had payed for. I am appalled. I was also told by the delivery driver that the forgotten food was my fault as he said I needed to call them before they left with the food making sure they had everything. That is not my responsibility but the takeaways as I did not ring them but ordered online. I will not be eating here again until there is a new delivery driver who will not shout at us for their mistakes. If I could I would give this a 0 star rating

Last 3 times I've ordered they have gotten it wrong or left items out. Tonight chips didn't arrive, rang and said would get them in 15 mins, rang 40 minutes later, said they were never ordered!!!! They were definitely ordered and I've now been waiting an hour, expecting food but was never going to get it. Need somebody on phone who speaks and understands English and somebody to double check orders before they're sent out. Food has also definitely gone downhill

Subway, a casual fast-food chain known for its customizable sandwiches and salads, offered health-conscious options to its customers. Regrettably, there were no other establishments in Carrick that matched Subway's quality sandwiches. Many patrons frequented the restaurant every few days, accumulating loyalty points for free or inexpensive meals. It is disheartening to witness the sudden closure of this beloved eatery; it will be dearly missed.
Subway was the best place to eat in Carrick no other places had good sandwiches like subway. I would go there every 2-3 days and collect points for free sandwiches and enjoy cheap and affordable sandwiches. Its sad to see this place go it was a shock to me to see them go like this. You will always be missed RIP

Myself and partner visited today and had the breakfast roll. It was very good and we both enjoyed it. Great value for money in a warm inviting atmosphere on a cold and wet September Sunday morning.

Love this place you always have a good variety of salads to choose from. Unlike the traditional deli where you are limited from 1 to 2 salads here, you can get them all at no extra cost. Also, toast option is available.

This business closes at 5pm even though the website claims they open longer, you only find this out when you go to the door. This is disrespectful to customers and the website should have been updated. They were closed on Bank Holiday Monday at 3pm when I called and no notice to say if they were open at all that day. They seem to take the customer for granted and their sanitiser facilities are very poor as their shop bought sanitiser on the counter was empty the last day I was there, luckily enough we had our own. They need to work on their customer communication and facilities. It’s a pity because the bread and the rest of the food in Subway is very nice.
