Gastropub
Pub
Nestled in the charming town of Cupar, The Boudingait is a delightful pub that offers a warm and inviting atmosphere perfect for travelers seeking a cozy dining experience. On our visit, we were greeted by two incredibly friendly staff members who provided attentive service without feeling rushed. The menu features classic pub favorites like steak and ale pie, scampi and chips, and even unique options like haggis burgers. Each dish was served hot with generous portions that left us thoroughly satisfied.
Always Worth a Visit – Excellent Service, Friendly Staff & Delicious Food Special the Fish&Chips as well the Haggis Fritters... I’ve visited several times, and it’s always been enjoyable. The staff is warm and welcoming, the service runs smoothly, and the food is full of flavor with plenty of options. The place has a certain charm – it’s not too big, which makes it feel more personal and relaxed. A spot you can always count on for quality and friendliness. Highly recommended!

Popped in last night for a bite to eat and a pint and was pleasantly surprised to have found an utter gem! The food here is delicious and was very fresh, and the Guinness was great. The staff are very friendly and the prices reasonable. We will definitely be back :)

This is a real gem. The food is incredible, staff so friendly and atmosphere wonderful. Also they cater for celiac and other allergies fantasticly. The kitchen is outstanding. Love it here
Michael C — Google review
This was an amazing little pub and the food was absolutely delicious! The waitress was attentive as well as giving us enough time and room to think about our food and drink choices. The main meals were so good that we couldn't help but have a pudding aftwards which also lived up to expectations. The haggis burger was to die for and the lemon merangue pie way sublime!
ElinorBurnbrite — Google review
The food, sadly, was very average..almost high school cafeteria style food in taste, quality and presentation. Not quite 2025 gastropub style that I was hoping for. Our table was by the window that looked directly onto the overflowing dumpsters with flies buzzing about which simply killed any romantic sentiments of being in a traditional pub on the high street of a nice town. Kind service though and the music choice was pleasant.
Ross M — Google review
So grateful for their wonderful gluten-free options. I was traveling with my sister and finding something other than fish & chips for her was a challenge in many small towns we visited. If I lived in Scotland, I'd become a regular customer. Don't miss the Sticky Toffee Pudding, which was also gluten free. Delicious.
Cynde N — Google review
The meals where quite small but so were the prices too. An enjoyable bite to eat with a nice pleasant atmosphere. Service was delightful and the staff very polite and helpful. Well worth a visit and hopefully return soon.
Stevie B — Google review
On the smaller side, but nice atmosphere and food. The waitress was super friendly and helpful, and there were a bunch of games and cards that you could use while waiting for your food to be brought out. The mac n cheese was amazing, as was the burger. Also got a raspberry Moscow mule with fresh raspberries muddled in. Definitely worth another visit.

Restaurant
Nestled in the charming town of Cupar, the Greenhouse Bar & Grill is a delightful dining destination that truly stands out. This eatery excels in providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere, thanks to its attentive host, Debbie, who goes above and beyond for guests. Families will appreciate her thoughtful touches, like highchairs for little ones and cleaning supplies for toys.
We were going out for a retirement celebratory lunch for my partners’ dad. This restaurant is a favourite of theirs. A party of four meat eaters, a vegetarian and me the vegan. After we had booked with plenty of advance warning they were able to provide vegan options for me, an option for starter, main, and dessert which I really appreciated. The food was 10/10 I only wish the vegan option I had for a main was a regular menu item as it was delicious!
Laura — Google review
Visited this jewel 💎 of a restaurant last week and wow, just like other reviews indicated, it was fabulous ✨ The restaurant is run by couple Debi who was our lovely host and her very talented chef husband Leon. The food was a-ma-zing 🤤😋 we ordered scallops, mussels, ribeye steaks, all 100% fresh local produce. All finished off with a refreshing lemon posset and sweet sticky toffee pudding (minus the ice cream due to milk intolerance). We savoured every single mouthful and cannot recommend it highly enough. Only suggestion to anyone wanting to try this restaurant is to book in advance to guarantee your place. While we were there for our meal 8 people were turned away due to being fully booked. That’s how popular this restaurant is, and deservedly so. Well done to this fab team! For anyone with mobility issues there’s one step down into the restaurant and then there are two small tables only a few steps away, then a step up too a bigger area with more tables. Debi was wonderful and very supportive and patient with me managing the step really slowly. 💕

We had a lovely meal for my dad's birthday. Thank you so much to the team for making ot so special. We've been to the restaurant many times - it is always lovely food, generous portions and excellent service. We especially love the roast, steak pie and scampi. Definitely recommend. Thank you so much.
Rachel C — Google review
Amazing all round. It's small but perfect. Relaxed yet had a fancy vibe, food is great....the most decadent lemon meringue cheesecake I have ever eaten. Soft, cloudy like heaven. Would 100% recommend.
Shannon M — Google review
My wife and I went out for a spot of lunch and I feel really lucky that we found this place on google maps. The food was superb and the young lady who was looking after was lovely. I never pick steak pie when I’m out because you can get steak pie anywhere! Well not this steak pie, the stew was amazing. Everything was amazing, kudos to this place - it’s well worth a visit or twenty.
Greig M — Google review
Outstanding, from start to finish. Delicious white onion soup, fabulous ham hock terrine on pea veloute. Best meal I have had since arriving in the UK six days ago. Definitely worth another trip to Cupar to enjoy!
Elizabeth W — Google review
Lovely restaurant where portion size is not an issue. Haggis fritters, Kilted Burger with sides (potato skins are amazing!) and finishing with Sticky Toffee pudding. Food was amazing and was equally matched by the service. Bit of a bind to find but once there we weren't disappointed.

Great pub. We pop in here on our way home from playing Golf at St Andrews. Only 35 of us, so you can imagine the service they need to give us. Only allowed one drink each????

With its charming traditional decor inspired by the historic regions of Indraprastha and Hastinapur, Aangan offers an inviting atmosphere perfect for enjoying authentic Indian cuisine.
Great food and nice decor at a location very convenient to the train station. Fresh delicious good in good portions. We ordered a combo of chicken korma with a side of perfect saag. Recommend!
Kathy P — Google review
We chose this establishment on reviews. We ordered 2 x chicken tikka mains and 1 x tandoori mix. Plus drinks. We were all very happy with our meals taste, quality, portions and cost were good. Although there was no where near enough curry sauce. Service was outstanding. Would definitely recommend giving this restaurant a try, and we will definitely be back. Please don't be put off with entrance etc, we all loved our meal in here.
Richard — Google review
Visiting the area for a week and decided to try this restaurant after a recommendation Our curries were fresh, delicious and full of flavour. The peshwari naan was the best I’ve tasted and the rice was light and fluffy (so good, we ordered another). Our, usually fussy, children enjoyed their chicken pakora (tender chicken and a crisp and light batter with just the right amount of spice for them). We were the only sit-in diners on a quiet Monday night. The restaurant area would benefit from a little upgrading but it did have a rustic charm and we wouldn’t hesitate to return.
Laura M — Google review
The curry here really is excellent, each of our choices had a distinct flavour and not just heat. The prawns were succulent and the meat very tender and flavoursome. We had a delivery and live at the outskirts of where they deliver so it did take a while to come but we were expecting that so didn’t impact our enjoyment. I definitely recommend this place to others and it will be my first choice for a curry.
JILL R — Google review
First time visit to Cupar and The Aangan. A quiet Monday night but had pre booked with only half a dozen people in when we arrived, hence the 3 star for atmosphere. Im sure on a busy night its a vibrant and enjoyable place to be. Service was great and the food delicious. I had the Afghan Chicken curry which was stunning. The portions were good and we thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Will definitely come back.
Nick L — Google review
Food is okay but fish isnt the greatest. Garlic nan bread with cheese and not much cheese was on it. The service was good. All round okay.
Hamish M — Google review
Really surprised at how good this place was! Food was brilliant service excellent. I used to live in India and I usually hate Indian takeaways and restaurants in the UK but I will definitely be back here! My friend loved it too

Ostlers Close Restaurant offers an intimate and elegant dining experience, serving gourmet Scottish cuisine made with locally-sourced ingredients. Since 1981, the restaurant has been run by Jim and Amanda Graham, who have established strong relationships with local artisanal producers and even cultivate their own vegetables, herbs, and salads for the menu. The small dining room provides a homely atmosphere where guests are personally attended to by the friendly owner. Diners praise the exceptional flavors of familiar ingredients transformed into extraordinary dishes.
Had a great dinner with our daughter. The chef made her something to nibble on (baked patatoes) after the pidgon she really enjoyed. The staff is very friendly

Such a great place. Intimate and friendly atmosphere, with extremely tasty food. Will definitely be back!
Geoff B — Google review
Errr, wow. Not the cheapest out there but for a special occasion it's a glorious wee place: a true diamond in the rough (sorry Cupar). The ingredients is locally sourced, the dishes are cleverly constructed and the taste is sensational (particularly if you're a meat lover). Go, treat yourself.
Michael G — Google review
A very small family run restaurant, did I say small? It can hold maybe 20 people or so. It has been running for about 37 yrs. And I hope for many more. The food is excellent, the detail and care taken shows. Because it can hold so few Booking is a must, and to them every plate counts! You will be rewarded. There is variety to Chose from a small cleverly crafted menu that will include fish and meats. The ambience is intimate, expect to spend approx £ 50 a head + wine.
Salvador M — Google review
A wee family owned with the most brilliant and attentive serviced I have experienced in Scotland. They made a menu just for us and that tops any restaurant anywhere. Beware Michelin star joints, this one doesn't need a star and is better than you.
Sérgio S — Google review
This is the best place I have ever eaten! The setting is small, well presented and homely front room with only a handful of tables. The person waiting on you is the owner, and she is incredibly friendly, making conversation, discussing the food and wine with you and generally being a fantastic host. The food is really amazing! You will eat food that you have eaten a hundred times before, say a potato, but suddenly you taste something that you did not know could be achieved with this ingredient. I kept expecting to find some part of the dish that was not so great, but even food I normally would not like (like cabbage) simply becomes something tastier than I could imagine. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough! It is the best place to eat in this entire region of Scotland!
Mark F — Google review
Fantastic place. Lovely atmosphere and exceptional service. Meals are made with passion to the point you can taste it. Portions are nice size and quite generous. The place is tiny but really cosy.
Arek M — Google review
Ostler's Close is the best restaurant in which my husband and I have ever had the pleasure to dine, a list that includes MIchelin starred London restaurants. Amanda and Jimmy are both fabulous cooks, passionate about using the best possible ingredients, relentlessly attentive to every detail, resulting in superb food. We enjoyed it so much the first night that we immediately reserved a table for the next night. After Ostler's Close, even our favorite restaurants in London were a let-down, only second best. This review from The List says it best: "Ostlers Close still delivers exquisite food born of rare passion and integrity." My only regret about Ostler's Close is that it is so far from Cape Cod where we live!

Whether you're indulging in their perfectly cooked naan or savoring the flavorful chicken dishes, each bite is sure to impress. With a menu that may not be extensive but focuses on freshness and quality, every dish is beautifully presented and crafted with care.
I have no words to say. Came on holiday and was unable to locate a good place to eat. Found this place on Google and called to make a reservation. From then and there it felt superb. The gentleman who helped us to choose the dishes was brilliant he was very kind and friendly if I’m not mistaken his name is Mr.Kabir . He was super welcoming and made us feel like home. And yes the food was so excellent. Probably the favorite Indian restaurant in Scotland now.
Dilan P — Google review
Not the worse Indian in Fife, but pretty close. Was looking forward to this based on the strength of the reviews, unfortunately our experience didn’t match these. Summary- Very expensive and fairly dire food. Atmosphere:The place was pretty tired and grubby all round- the children’s highchair was filthy- covered in old rice and dirt- which we had to clean ourselves. Food- really poor. Starters: chewy, popadoms that tasted like they were from the day before. Tasteless, and borderline rare tandoori chick tikka. Mains: some of the base sauces were actually tasty, if very odd - the green herb chicken was the strangest and most unpleasant, we’ve ever had. The issue is the meat- the lamb was blatantly mutton- chewy, disgusting and inedible. The chicken was either rubbery or close to rare. Would definitely avoid.
Fingal M — Google review
We went as a family for a New Year's Day meal. Excellent and polite service. Gary was such good fun and made our experience all the more enjoyable. Good value for money and all meals were thoroughly delicious! When we return to Cupar to visit family we will definitely be coming back. Thank you!
Suzanne T — Google review
Absolutely love, love, love this restaurant! The tandoori chicken is amazing! I won’t order from anywhere else now. Can’t recommend the food enough. Staff are also so friendly!
Gail B — Google review
Plus points.....service, menu range, drinks and decor! Minus points.....food......burnt Channa Puri, chewy Lamb Jalfrezi with a strange sauce, congealed pilau rice and strangest garlic naan ever!

We came this evening and unlike most of the restaurants we could have dinner at 8 pm! The server is one of a kind ! We really loved him ! He gave us the best advices ! If you're in Cupar, a visit to Caulders Garden Centre is a must, especially during the festive season. This charming spot offers a delightful traditional Christmas lunch and an inviting afternoon tea throughout December, perfect for recharging after exploring their wonderful selection of holiday gifts. The café boasts a spacious layout with easy accessibility and plenty of parking options, making it convenient for everyone.
Journeying through Fife needed a coffee/ toilet stop. Saw a garden centre signposted and guessed correctly that it would not be closing as early as other cafes.Enjoyed a nice hot chocolate and then a walk around the garden area; beautiful displays and some flowers smelt gorgeous. Made a few inexpensive purchases in the high quality but pricy gift shop. Grateful to the cheerful staff even though it was near closing time, especially the girl who was trying to get the toilets cleaned! Oh, prices for plants and flowers seemed reasonable- I just usually get them when nearer home- good variety though.

Lunch first then a wander round the well stocked shop. We had a new waitress, still learning. Served our Soup without spoons, no napkins. Soup was good, tea coffee and lovely cakes. Bought items for home, well worth a visit.
Mags H — Google review
Really disappointed at Caulders Cafe today. We had to wait a long time in outdoor area today and eventually had to ask for menus and then again to order. We understand that there is a sign saying to go initially to pay desk but as people were being served outside and we were visible to staff we didn't think this would be necessary. However apparently it is - we were clearly invisible to staff because we hadn't gone to paydesk first. Manager came out at our request but just reiterated the 'rule' we didn't follow. Apparently our wait for menus and then our wait to order and then my wait for pot of tea was all our fault! Really? Not good enough!

A lovely gem of a cafe right in the centre of Cupar. Great service from very welcoming friendly staff. The choice of delicious food is excellent and special dietary requirements are catered for. The decor too is superb. So well worth a visit, I would give more than 5 stars if that was possible.

Pretty decor, clean and bright. Sadly, a bit of a strange place, deathly silent and unwelcoming atmosphere. There was an odour that reminded me of a butchers shop, maybe remnants of cooking smells or problems with a drain? Strange passive aggressive messages everywhere. DO NOT sit down. Enter and stand at the sign. Do not touch. Wash your hands. Don't leave taps on. Felt abrasive and unnecessary. Very expensive items for sale like £14.50 for a small candle (dusty too). Food was mediocre at best, Slice was sickly sweet. Overall disappointing, just wanted to pop in to a wee place for a cake! Highly recommend the Cupar Tearoom as an excellent alternative.
Kelly D — Google review
Lovely place, don't be put off by the alleyway entrance. Inside is a revelation for space, atmosphere, food choices and staff attention
Allin H — Google review
Nice wee cafe. Service was prompt, friendly but not chatty. Food was of a good standard and coffee tasty. Take away cake was not great. It's a pretty, quiet place but there's no atmosphere. We enjoyed the quiet but felt something was missing. Maybe a wee bit of chat from staff would be good. Unfortunately toilets are upstairs which were inaccessible to me as I'm currently on crutches and unable to climb stairs. There's also what looked like a nice mezzanine level. Overall a good standard and will return once I'm able to climb stairs .

Number 10 is an impressive cafe/bar that appears smaller from the outside than it actually is. The staff are delightful and provide excellent service. The food, including the meal, soup, and Balmoral chicken, is superb and reasonably priced. Customers are informed about the wait time, as the food is freshly cooked to order. While it may not be fast food, the quality of the dishes makes up for any potential delay.
No.10 is our favourite breakfast stop before returning back to Yorkshire after visiting our Scottish family. The staff are always welcoming and attentive. The food is always on point and we've never been disappointed. Tried the pancakes today.. perfect 🥞 and couldn't help but ask for a tattie scone too 🤣. Thanks to the No.10 team, see you all soon ❤️

Stumbled upon this place after failing to book/ get a table at our original intended restaurant and we’re delighted we did. Very friendly waiting staff, incredibly fast service of food and it was delicious. Steak pie and haddock both lovely and fresh, deserts also amazing. Can’t fault our whole experience on an otherwise rainy miserable Tuesday night.

Popped in for lunch. Busy atmosphere, but plenty seats. Mac n cheese and pulled pork toastie were amazing! Quick service. Staff polite and friendly. Would definitely return in future 👍

A great selection from soup, toasties, Mac and cheese , burgers, fish and chips with a wide variety of gluten Free and veggie options. Surprisingly a lot of the meals could be half portioned. Prices are reasonable, staff are friendly, fast and attentive. Been here a couple of times , midday-ish on Sunday, not busy enough to need to book but steady business. On street parking or car park which is behind the houses/shops on the main road, about 5 mins walk.

Popped in for an early evening meal on spec. The menu was limited but the food was good value for money : well prepared and presented. The offer half portions on some items - good if you have kids etc. Drinks prices were typical for the location. The temperature was a bit cool and it took them a bit of time to clear the dishes despite the place being quiet. Overall a good experience!

Was planning to come because of good reviews though it was pretty dingy and without any sense of atmosphere or much decoration as we entered. I always check for signs as I do bring my dog with me regularly and there was no indication at all that they would be intolerant of dogs but unfortunately we were asked to leave as they have decided to have a no dog policy. I would suggest to the owners that if they don't want dogs then they should have signage. I stay in London (just home on holiday visiting family) and most cafes are dog friendly, and plenty of restaurants are too, definitely many that are much smarter than this place, and when they don't allow dogs they have a sign before you come in so that you don't have to bother even trying. Just saying as i do find this attitude and lack of basic signage, especially in a more countryside area where there will be more dog owners strange and unexpected.

Popped in for lunch. We each had the Thali where you choose two mains from a choice of nine, plus lots of sides are provided too. The food was amazing and the staff are friendly, helpful and keen to ensure you enjoy your visit. Great value for money too! Highly recommended

incredibly flavourful food that was super filling and just kept getting better! my friend and I shared a mix starter for two which really surprised us as generally you know what to expect with chicken pakora / samosas etc, however here they were probably the tastiest we’ve had! (Shoutout to the mysterious “starter sauce”). I definitely recommend the Special Biryani - delicious and filling and enough for lunch tomorrow. Server Afiya was a delight to chat to and brought a brilliant energy to our evening - thank you so much!💜

We had a fantastic family meal at Saffrons for a group of 14, and everything was spot on from start to finish. The food was delicious — highlights included the onion bhaji and chicken biryani, along with a wide selection of other classic dishes. The naan bread was huge — easily the size of two big plates! The restaurant has a lovely old-school Indian feel, complete with pre-warmed plates so your food stays hot throughout the meal. Service was excellent — attentive, friendly, and professional. We were celebrating a birthday and brought along a cake. The staff kindly kept it out the back, and when the time was right, they brought it out with a lit candle, sang Happy Birthday, and even helped serve it. A lovely personal touch that made the night even more special. We’ll definitely be back — highly recommended for a warm and memorable dining experience!

Went in the afternoon for a set Thali meal. The food was neatly presented and tasted good alongside good amount of curry choices. Would have personally liked roti instead of the chips and some dhal/veggie dish as the 2nd option. The service was excellent and totally enjoyed our visit.

Went for a meal here lastnight. The staff cant be more helpful, nice and quiet but good atmosphere. And the food was amazing. The south indian curry was perfect, and the mrs had large chicken purri for a main and loved it also. Will be back..

Everything was delicious! I fell in love with the chicken korma and my husband with the Bhonna gosht. The mushroom rice really surprised me because I'm not a big fan of mushrooms but I really enjoyed it. We didn't manage to finish because of the generous portions, so we asked to take away. The owner was super friendly and the service neat and very conscious of covid safety measures, delivering the food to our table with a trolley. Next time, we would like to try the Indoos in Broughty Ferry :)

I have been many times and I can say the food is outstanding, I could rarely fault the food. Today I visited with a friend and the food was fantastic as always however the service let it down! It is a town restaurant so not overly busy during the week. Music in the background might be nice as it is quiet! Anyway we ordered our food and at the start the waiter was very attentive. This changed when they got a bigger table in! And I know people are thinking welll it was a big table, maybe 15 at most but the rest of the restaurant was empty and regardless we are a paying customer. When they arrived we were completely forgotten about, we actually had to go up to the bar to remind them we need to order pudding as they cleared our mains and never returned we sat for 15 minutes and had enough.. We made many attempts to get someone's attention, eventually my friend went to the bar to ask for our dessert and she was told to sit down, very rude! eventually a waiter came over and took our sweet choice. My ice cream was served 10 minutes plus later and my friend still didn't have her cheesecake we made several attempts to get the waiters attention they looked and ignored us! eventually one came over and said they were defrosting the cheesecake! It is not acceptable and very rude to serve a tables food separately, My friend burnt her mouth because the cheesecake was really hot from I assume the microwave! Great start poor ending! Food was excellent apart from the pudding and poor staff service, apart from the man that was behind till he was very good! All in all a bit disappointing!

First time visiting today. We live in Dundee but passing on our way home from visiting at my mums in Fife. Safe to say we will be back and would even go out of our way to visit. Great service - we weren't sure what fillings we wanted in paninis and the lovely lass took time to give us a wee menu there was no rush. Paninis were quick and delicious- one of us got sweet chilli chicken and cheddar and one chicken tikka and cheddar. Well filled, piping hot and so tasty. We've got a cake to share later and it also looks absolutely class. 5 star service and food

A staple if you are in or around cupar for any reason, food is well priced and portions are great with a good selection. The hot food is great and the filled baguettes and rolls even better. Only point would be to avoid it around 1230 weekdays as it is super popular with the local high school kids and it gets very busy.

On holiday from South Wales and enjoyed what I believe is the best fish supper I've ever had, from Libo's on Sunday evening. Chips were exactly how I like them & so was the giant haddock. Thank you so much guys - very nicely done!
Jessie S — Google review
⭐ 1 star £9.40 for a smoked sausage supper and a Fruit Shoot complete rip off. At that price, the least they could do is give you a normal portion of chips. Instead, you get barely enough to cover the bottom of the box. It’s not about the money, but it’s pure greed. No value, no care, just profit. Won’t be back.
Joseph T — Google review
Overpriced and small portions. Burger and chips. Why is it battered and not in a bun? Rock hard scampi, dry chips and a runny curry sauce. All this for £15.10! Glad I had some bread indoors.

Special fish was out of this world. Only bad thing I can say is I got a single sausage and they were extremely small. Think maybe got mixed up with the kids size one but other than that the food was tremendous

Had a medium fish supper and my wife had a small fish supper. Generous portions, fish cooked to perfection. Friendly service. What's not to like? Fish suppers are actually available in four sizes: Small, Medium, Large and X-large. Judging by the generous portions we had for a small and medium, I shudder to think what the X-Large must be like. I presume it's meant to be shared!

We have had great food from here over the years and have always meant to leave a review - never had any negative experiences or food that was not to our liking. We had some family in last night and ordered a variety of food for collection, from ordering over the phone to collecting at the given time - brilliant. Great selection from traditional chippy food to pizzas all freshly cooked, service is friendly and quick. Generous portions and great value - you know a good chippy when it's always busy. Thank you - we recommend and will always return.

Ordered pizza crunch and it was so cheesy that the pizza was soggy there was definitely no crunch, also ordered a Donna hoggie calzone that had no taste, Donna meat was a little overcooked and I had barely and chips in it and they forgot to put in a portion Donna meat so had to go back and pay an extra 80p for the garlic sauce that’s meant to come with it I feel like I have wasted £40 of my money. NEVER GOING BACK!!!!

Visited for the first time on a tuesday early evening, my 1st mistake i think. Place has a good vibe, it's won awards for its fish and chips. The pizzas looked good too, but we fancied a kebab, our 2nd mistake. A large chicken and a large mixed kebab for £16. Really disappointing. The chicken bits were large fillets chargrilled, not marinated at all, simply not chicken kebab. Looked like reformed chicken from Tesco. The large mixed kebab was about half the size of what I usually get from other shops. Very little chilli sauce, no spiced onions. No tubs of anything I could add. Small, expensive, tastless. I might go back for fish and chips but I'm afraid the kebabs were really poor!

If you're on the hunt for a delightful Chinese takeaway experience, look no further than Chinese Kitchen. Despite some mixed reviews, many diners have found their meals to be surprisingly enjoyable. One standout dish is the salt and pepper tofu paired with fried rice, which boasts a unique crunchy texture that sets it apart from typical offerings. The flavors are vibrant and satisfying, making it a great choice for those who appreciate quality food.
Ordered dinner and was ready to collect when we entered. Portion size was good . Food was yummy and tasty. We ordered for four and they have a deal of over £35 you get a bottle of juice included which was nice.

Low quality food. Look elsewhere if you want decent to good Chinese takeaway food. Drove 25mins for this. Unable to supply pics but it won't justify the taste or quality. Do not deviate from what you're used to.
Mike N — Google review
Ordered a Munchy box from Oriental Kitchen in Ladybank and went to pick it up. Waited around 10 minutes, but when we got back to the car and opened it, we were disgusted to find hair embedded in the batter of the chicken and more scattered throughout the box. Took it straight back and asked for a fresh one to be made. About five minutes later, they handed us another box — but it was clearly the exact same one. The original tape was just tucked back in, and the same hairs were still there. It looked like they’d just reheated it in the wok and handed it straight back. We returned that one too and asked again for a fresh box. This time, we waited about 15 minutes, and thankfully the replacement was clean and fresh. The lady at the counter couldn’t have been more helpful during that final visit and made sure it was sorted properly. Still, it was disappointing to be handed the same contaminated food the first time — really poor hygiene and completely unacceptable. The way it was eventually handled was appreciated, but we shouldn’t have had to go back twice to get a meal that was safe to eat.
Nicole M — Google review
Disappointed to put it mildly…. Chips looked reheated and a bit soggy The fried rice dish was very salty and had a gravy which there was not mention! The meat on the ribs were like rubber!! And prawn crackers that I paid for were a very small bag! One that I’ve had countless times elsewhere for free….. £30 plus order! And most of it was binned…

I dont know why the reviews are slow low for this takeaway, I ordered salt and pepper tofu with fried rice and it was really nice, they are one of the few Chinese takeaways who actually does tofu. The tofu was nice and crunchy, totally different texture from what I am use to but it was very enjoyable, I would like to know how they cook it to obtain such a texture. All in all 5 stars from me, Thanks, Darren

Ordered food 2hrs later still no food girl kept saying he was 5 mins away, then the driver was lost when we actually phoned to cancel it. We're regular customer had late deliveries before but not to this extent. Yet the the system they have when we phone it pings our address. I totally understand things happen but to think we would except and pay for food that's been sitting in a car for over one half ehh sorry no.

Having read previous reviews, we were slightly hesitant in ordering from this takeaway, but were not disappointed at all as we had a lovely meal. The food was flavoursome and the staff were very friendly, would highly recommend. Looking forward to next time!

Have been a customer of this place for years: the food quality got gradually worse then the place changed hands; tried it again (triumph of hope over experience but it only Chinese takeaway near here) a month or so ago and it was actually nice. Had another meal last night and it was absolutely inedible; literally too salty to eat. Phoned them up once they opened today and offered to bring what was left (which was most of it and of course was still in the containers untouched) back; they said no and no refund of any kind. We will never use them again cannot recommend them to anyone else.

I get better attitude from dog droppings on the ground. Came along with a brand new puppy as all dog owner would agree you carry then as they're so young. I was back up against the doors as I was cautious of having the puppy with me and never came near the counters. Off the mark vile verbal communication advising no dogs allowed. However prior to entering the premises I checked for notice of contract which non advise regarding no dogs. My feedback is to train your staff for being more friendly and I'll stick to attending the other fast n fresh locations due to the staff always being amazing and welcoming. Poor service will not return. Also perhaps signage would be helpful to advise all customer as we genuinely understand and don't mind. What's we do mind is dogs abuse by arrogant rude staff.

Has went totally downhill, Sunday at 11.45 I was the only person in the shop. Less choice for cake, sweets, juice. I got a Chinese chicken baguette, filling was okay from what I could taste. I could flatten the baguette without any filling coming out, £5.90. I would not mind paying that for a FILLED baguette but this was pathetic. Loved the shop for years, won’t go back now

Really disappointed this morning with our baguettes! Asked for bacon, egg & potato scone. Was really looking forward to it after spending a couple of hours up at my horse. When we got home to Dunshalt we found that not only was there NO egg on them but you could have cut wood with the tattie scones as they were brick hard! When I called to complain I spoke to a girl who claimed to be the manager but obviously needed a refresher course on customer relations and wouldn't give me her name or apologise! In fairness this is the first time I've been disappointed with fast & fresh so maybe your Sunday staff aren't quite up to your usual standards? Just a parting note to make you aware that the girl who served me went into the freezer and handled 5 frozen burgers that she put onto the grill, never washed her hands and picked up my order and brought it to the till.....nice!!!!!!

Caspian Fast Food is a popular spot for late-night cravings, as they go out of their way to deliver delicious options like spicy chicken pizza and kebabs even at closing time. The restaurant is known for its classic, flavorful takeout food that satisfies customers' desires. With a well-run and professional approach, the menu offers a wide range of tasty options such as curry with large portions at good prices.
Called late on a Tuesday evening with a hankering for fast food at closing time. Despite the late hour the guys went out of their way to delivery a spicy chicken pizza and kebab to my door! ..they could have easily declared closing time but instead delivered the goods and it was the best pizza and kebab ive had in months!! Amazing! Top restaurant!! Legends!!

Let me set the scene. You’re starving on a train home to Cupar. The only place open is Caspian’s. You think gods on your side (just seen the Book of Mormon). On the phone you are met with hello 5 times in a row (not their fault your service was bad) (remember you are on a train). Then you order 3 portions of 6 piece southern fried chicken with chips for delivery (once again god is in your side - they accept the order). The delivery arrives so does sadness. The delivery man was not good vibes. Also, he did not have with him 3 portions of 6 piece southern fried chicken with chips instead he had with him 1 portion of 3 unseasoned chicken drumsticks (you think) with chips. This came to £11.90? The chicken was also grey (not the colour chickens supposed to be). You have lost not only your faith in god but also your faith in Caspian. Caspian if you’re reading (which I know you are) please take none of this to heart I’m sure your personality is great (although your chicken is rancid).

I ordered a set meal takeaway tonight. The veg pakora and sauce was lovely, as was the gigantic naan bread. The chicken madras was lovely, you could taste the real clove, star anise and mustard seeds (fried off to perfection), which I think is great, The heat was good (spice wise), my only problem (slight issue) would be the salt. A wee bit too much for me, but everyones taste is different. I’ll defo be ordering again as I feel this is the best curry in Cupar.

Very poor. Ordered a mixture of things from the menu and we were disappointed with the lot. It strikes me as a place with no passion for what they do. Just fire ingredients together and sell. Under cooked soggy chips. A hoggie wrap that was falling apart (would feel bad giving it to my dog), also had onions that we specifically asked not to include. Extremely greasy pakoras delivered in a bag that looked like a cat had ravaged it (I assume the grease just destroyed the paper). Won't be back.

Dragon Horse Chinese Takeaway is a delightful gem for anyone craving authentic Chinese cuisine. With an extensive menu that offers plenty of choices at reasonable prices, this family-run establishment ensures that every dish is cooked to perfection. Diners rave about the delicious fried chicken rice and generous portion sizes, making it a favorite among locals. The friendly staff adds to the welcoming atmosphere, although some have noted that the interior could use a bit of modernization.
One of my favourite takeaways. Lots of choice on the menu and good prices. The food is always cooked well and the staff are nice and friendly. I'd highly recommend this place.

Appalling!!! Duck in batter when I've never had it like that before so when I called to ask what they can do I was hung up on. Tried eating a but and it tasted like liver... Are they covering something in batter to disguise what they are really using? Waste of £20 as just put in the bin. Well never use again
