Pesto widnes was fantastic. The food was very nice. We attended for a 60th birthday as a party of 7. We spent £157 on drinks, food and deserts. All very good quality. Leaky toilet but not an issue. Plenty of options and good deals on 3xplates. Everyone was very happy. Only reason I've put 4 star is because we were rushed off the table. Not a very good experience when your half way through eating your desert.

As always we enjoyed every second of our dining here , warm welcome by both Martas and Mark served us with a smile . Delicious food . Thank you .

We was served by Hollie tonight and she was lovely from the start! She checked in with my table through out the night, making sure our drinks where topped up and that our food was up to standards! Hollie also brought a kind, caring vibe as well as some friendly banter! Overall a lovely waitress.

Booked 2 hours in advanced on a Saturday after reading the reviews. This was a birthday meal. Seated in a corner next to a large group celebrating an 8th birthday. We ordered starters, mains and desserts together. Starter arrived and had to wait to get someone's attention to get a folk. The server was attentive during that first course. Then the server served the next table their birthday cake & more drinks. Then another large group arrived and seated behind us. In the first group the kids were well behaved throughout, but one woman with them laughed a millions times that was so loud even I couldn't hear myself talking, and I was shouting in the end !! During this time i asked the server to order the next course, when I wasn't quite finished with the first. For the next 30 minutes we had difficulty chatting because of the 'LOL' woman, I'd gone to the toilet, we tried to get the servers attention but she clearly didn't hear because she walked away from the noisy table. After a while I'd had enough, I didn't want the mains we were waiting for or the dessert. I wanted to pay the bill and leave because my birthday was ruined by the staff and the inconsiderate customers. I had to tap on the arm of the server who was being attentive to the older lady's birthday behind me. I told her I'm not happy it been over 30 minutes waiting and I don't want dessert and I want to go home because my birthday is now ruined. Her face had totally changed and said she'll get the manger. The female manger came over quickly. I told her what's happened and whats been ruined. She said she'd take 50% off the food and I think one of the drinks off the bill. I said are you sure, because I wasn't complaining to get money off, just that I want to leave and I won't be back. For context I visited often before it was pesto and for a works Christmas party when was pesto. The whole inside was different, all open plan, 1 small bar and open kitchens. When speaking to the manager the mains arrived, the noisy table was gone, and half way through my partner ordered a coffee. The whole experience took 2 hours !! We called for the server for the bill, booked a taxi, within a minute the taxi was there but no server about again so my partner went off trying to find someone to pay the bill. I'm so glad that I took a picture of the bill to add to this review, but I'd noticed the prices on the receipt once I was home and the promises from the manager didn't happen. I done the figures twice. We paid FULL PRICE for a bad experience on MY Birthday!! And the manager doesn't need to reply to this review by offering any other free stuff to rectify the mistake on the bill because I definitely would not be returning, or come to ruin another special occasion.

Had a lovely meal at Pesto with my daughter. Mark was great - very helpful, and friendly. Have never had a bad experience here, always love to eat at Pesto! Great quality food for great prices ⭐

Food was impeccable, and the service from our server Sean was very quick and he was very kind. I would recommend this restaurant for a nice evening or midday meal. Definitely get the pork belly!

We were a party of 11 and all really impressed with the service, staff were lovely and food arrived quickly. Meal was amazing, all good quality food. Was quite busy/noisy but didn’t ruin the evening.

I visited here with my daughter for dinner when staying in the premier inn next door. Staff were very friendly and we were shown to our table promptly. They gave us a little activity page for her. My daughter had a lemonade and the kids spagetti bolagnase with a side of sweet corn. She ate it all and said it was very good. I had a pint of coors and pizza with pepperoni, chicken and pineapple. It was nice but tasted like it had been cooked from frozen. Total was 27 odd quid which wasnt to bad. I have eaten at a couple brewers fayre now and this was on of the better ones. Would visit again.

Very pleasant, no complaints, menu was a little dated missing the delights of Stella Artois but plenty other choice. Food was all very standard, nice and hot and filled the spot. Staff are all lovely friendly,helpful and professional. Louise was a delight to speak with. All in all happy to call again for no surprises no frills meal.

Decent food, let down by poor service. Arrived at 8pm on a Friday night after let down by another chain (TC). Was promptly directed to a table, browsed the menu and placed order at the bar. Starter arrived swiftly, though this was very small (Battered Prawns - only four served plus small pot of sauce). Mains arrived, these were delicious so no complaints here. Went to order desserts and the Bar staff informed me that the kitchen had closed for the night, we were never informed of this when we arrived and if we had known this prior we would've gone elsewhere. Because of that poor communication, what could've been a 4 star review is now just a 3 star review. Was looking forward to the tempting desserts... clearly they don't need customers!

Early doors and I only came for a drink but others in my party wanted to dine. I had a bottomless coffee which was very good quality and brilliant value. My friends had the value fish and chips and lasagne. Well cooked, tasty, large enough portion to satisfy and well worth the money! Deducted a star as the table was sticky, but other than that, clean enough with friendly staff who couldnt have done more for us, once table was pointed out to them.

Today visited with tenants with whom we look after ,after finding out it was one of their Birthdays they came out with a box of chocolates plus 8 glasses of champagne (lime and soda) can not tell you how happy they were but their faces said it all,wishing her Happy Birthday so well done to the manager and staff you didn't have to go out of your way but so glad you did . Will be back who wouldn't with staff like you all. I would personally like to say thank you .

Ordered a curry and after waiting over 1 hour, it arrived congealed on the plate. Refund given. Rest of party waited 2 hours for their meal. No gas in refillable drinks, then no syrup. Disgusting . Service poor as under staffed. Would not go again.

Toby carvery, what a shambles. Meat stored on the floor. See pictures. Other complaints to heard from tables surrounding us that it was cold. Ours wasn't cold. Heat of the food is not our complaint. Food dry, poor quality of meats and veg clearly sat under a food lamp all day. Flies engulf this place and would never suggest anyone spending their hard earned cash at this place. First walking in no one was at the seating stand and we were left to wander the establishment. Seating arrangements crammed. Booked for a big family meal and there was no festive decorations. Menu was fixed for purely carvery. Children's menu is limited and no chips. Starters arrived and this was cheaply put together. When collecting carvery all meats were poor cut and cheap quality. Vegetables were all soaking in grease clearly sat out and coated in oil to prevent going dry. Never in my experience of reviewing have I ever left such a poor review on a place.

We often use Toby Carvery at the start of a Motorcycle Trip, Ample parking, Friendly Staff, Buffet style full breakfasts , are always good and 4 big burley bikers and one ikkle one have never gone away hungry.. in fact we are well and truly set up untill that evening. The staff were happy to provide a high chair for the smaller one of us.. 😆 🤣

This was my first time at the establishment and I can happily say I am deeply satisfied with my experience. The customer service was incredible and aleacia went above and beyond to cater for my needs from the moment I walked through the door. Smiling, kind and very well mannered she is an absolute credit to the company. The food was served in good time and HOT! It’s very tasty and exactly what you want when eating out which for me is good, hot high quality food that you simply can’t get at home. Great job team keep up the good work.

Been there a few times and always was ok. But last Sunday we had most unpleasant experience. The beef was all jellyish and fatty. Potato was rock hard. A few dish was empty. Service was slow. Staff all looked miserable. Very disappointed.

We book the table for big family, was easy. The roast dinner at Sunday is tradintion and we all had looking forward for it. Having vegitarian grevy ( veg.sosage must be order separet they are not on the buffet ) Atmosphere is good overal.

Always a pleasure to eat here. We are often waited on by Alicia who is very polite and attentive. All the staff are lovely and the food is great too. Never had a complaint whilst dining here. In fact, my partner and I frequently visit.

Well I can't believe how let down we feel!!!! Having visited Toby for years on and off we had always favoured Widnes but tried many others too. We eventually crossed other branches off the list as they disappointed. We thought we could always rely on Widnes but have noticed a steady decline over the last couple of years. We decided to try the breakfast this morning and what a complete and utter waste of good money! Everything about the breakfast was pretty awful...... Having served ourselves a full english I ate the yolk of the egg and 1 slice of bacon! My husband didn't eat much more. Considering 'a full English' is what people want to try they would be wondering what on earth we are promoting as a national dish if they tried this!!!! Can honestly say I will not be visiting any Toby Carvery for any food ever again. Maybe some people do go for quantity over quality and accept substandard food because of this. No thank you.

A really lovely place to eat. The food is delicious; good portions, plated nicely, swift service (but not rushed!). Meals are cooked to your specifications - bread type, toasted or not, etc - and the staff are friendly and happy to list your options. I thoroughly enjoy stopping by for a special lunch.

I went into the Gingerbread Tea House on the back of discovering it through Three Coffee Club. I’m really pleased I did. Not only is the coffee shop lovely, it’s reasonably priced and the staff are lovely. I’ll definitely be frequenting in future with my family.

Omg THEE most delicious Mothers Day Afternoon Tea experience I have ever had in my life. Couldn’t believe how much food we got for the price we paid! and unlimited tea aswell! Amazing! We were so full we literally could not move afterwards! My mum was made up. A big thank you to all the staff who were so lovely as usual. I knew you wouldn’t let me down 💕 absolutely outstanding food and service. I stumbled upon Gingerbread by accident after a shocking experience elsewhere... this is by far the best Tea Room in Widnes and seriously deserves much more recognition. Would not go anywhere else. Everytime we have visited the food has been spot on. Delicious and freshly cooked. Eggs Benedict is also to die for. Thank you for making our day so special.

The food is absolutely fabulous and the portions are very generous. They offer a bit of everything you'd expect from a breakfast cafe but the thing that steals the show is the ginger milkshake! It is unbelievable!

Managed to call into the Gingerbread Cafe today in Widnes... I must say what a lovely little place ... I was chatting to the owner how she started it going What a really good lady lots of warmth and made me feel so very welcome .. How to start , maybe from beginning . Back in November 2024, I was searching for a place in Widnes with genuinely good reviews – somewhere quiet, where I could enjoy proper, freshly prepared food, not reheated dishes like in many so-called “restaurants.” That’s how I came across La Cantina on TripAdvisor – and I’m glad I did. I went there for a business lunch and the setting was just right – relaxed, professional, and comfortable. I ordered the Surf & Turf steak (medium-well), which was absolutely spot-on. My business partner chose the King Prawns Alla Cantina, and another ordered the Sea Bass – both were impressed with the taste and freshness. For dessert, we tried both the cheesecake and the chocolate fudge cake. The cheesecake wasn’t really to my taste – but the fudge cake completely made up for it. Rich, warm, with real chocolate sauce and fresh ice cream – it was the highlight of the meal. This first visit convinced me that La Cantina is a hidden gem in Widnes. And yes – I did come back… to be continued

Food is excellent, had the steak, cooked to perfection, very nice place, just needs more people to realise it's there, would definitely recommend.

After a great first visit in November, I returned to La Cantina in February 2025 for another business lunch – this time with a different group of colleagues. One of my business partners ordered the Chicken Saffron, which looked and smelled fantastic, while I decided to try something new… and epic. I went for The Beast – a massive steak, also called Tomahawk by the chef (who I suspect might be Spanish – which would make sense, given how truly Mediterranean the kitchen feels). Whether it was 32oz or 42oz, I’m not sure – but the size and presentation were unforgettable. Served on the bone, grilled medium-well, juicy, rich in flavour… easily one of the most impressive steaks I’ve ever had. As a starter, I ordered the King Prawns Alla Cantina – partly because my business partner from the first visit couldn’t stop talking about them. And yes, he was right – they were juicy, full of flavour and served hot, just the way they should be. I finished (barely!) with the chocolate fudge cake, which once again delivered that warm, rich, gooey texture I loved the first time – plus smooth vanilla ice cream and generous chocolate sauce. Incredible. I’ll absolutely return to explore more of the menu – because everything I’ve tried so far has been fantastic. And if you’re reading this: drop a comment if you’ve tried The Beast yourself – for me it was a serious challenge. One thing I know for sure now: no more starters before that steak! :))

We were out celebrating a birthday at La Cantina last night. The four of of us had an extremely enjoyable evening with superb service, excellent food and a lovely relaxed atmosphere. This was my very first visit, as I had never known of its existence prior to this and I must say I will be returning to sample some more of their enticing menu. I had the Mediterranean Mixed Kebab meal which was sumptuous. I would recommend this to BBQ Steak and Fish lovers wholeheartedly. Brilliant job La Cantina!

Right from the start we were greated by Dan and shown to our table .. he was extremely attentive all throughout our meal and made us feel so very welcome... the food was outstanding, tasty and hot with huge portions ... Food was nice what I had I can’t complain. However the place itself did not have any Spanish feeling to it at all. It did not have a restaurant vibe and playing English music. I would expect Spanish music to give you a feeling of Spain and the decor is not great, felt like I was in a cafe not a restaurant. If you’re looking for a romantic meal I would avoid.

Visited here 4/9/25 what a beautiful atmosphere and amazing staff!! Always attentive thank you too all the team . Dec shown us to our table even recommended his favourite special. On Saturday, we visited The Griffin to celebrate a special occasion for my brother. Unfortunately, the service we received left us extremely disappointed. After finishing our starters, the plates remained on our table for over 15 minutes without being cleared. As we were dining with our baby, who kept reaching for the plates, we moved them to the bar for safety. Following this, around 45 minutes later, a member of the front-of-house staff approached and asked if we had finished our starters. We confirmed that we had, and she responded that the kitchen had not been informed to begin preparing our mains because “we didn’t know you had finished your starters as the plates had been removed from the table.” When I explained that we had removed the plates ourselves due to our baby trying to grab them, the staff member replied, “In future, don’t remove your plates from the table.” This response was not only dismissive but also implied that the delay was our fault — when, in fact, it is the responsibility of the staff to monitor tables and ensure timely service. Our mains arrived about 20 minutes later, meaning we waited well over an hour in total. We were left waiting far too long for our food, with no communication or apology. The tone and attitude of the staff member added to our frustration and detracted from what should have been a relaxed and enjoyable family celebration. I hope you will take this feedback seriously and address the service and communication issues we experienced. We have visited the Griffin many times over the years but based on this experience, we will likely take our custom elsewhere in the future.

Excellent service by a lovely young lady called Jess, she even remembered my name from a previous visit! All the staff were pleasant & food & beer was excellent. Highly recommended and special thanks to Jess for making our visit so enjoyable.

We booked a table at short notice for my mother in law’s 93rd birthday. We were greeted by Siobhan who had arranged a table with wheel chair access, close to facilities as we requested and settled in quickly. Mum had hurt her foot on the way and was visibly upset, but was cheered up by Siobhan’s cheerful, bustling style and was thrilled when Siobhan returned with a birthday card from “The Team” accompanying our drinks order. The food was very good, and as more customers arrived, the atmosphere became lively but not loud. It was lovely to be in a room of people clearly having a good time. All in all, a great experience, with Siobhan and her team entirely responsible for making it so. Thank you

Family of four we was greeted as we walked in and shown to our table. I had the Sunday lunch and can honestly say I've never had a nicer roast in a long time it was perfect in fact every meal ordered was. This is now my new favourite place to eat I couldn't fault anything

Great mid week visit. The pub was warm and welcoming and the team were friendly and efficient. The food was excellent as was the selection and choice of drinks. Can’t wait to visit again very soon.

We loved every single moment . The staff made christmas delightful without the stresses of cooking and dishes . It was our 1st time eating out on christmas day and will for sure 100% be back next year ! We didn't have any issues, though, a few comments to be made regarding choices for the gluten-free menu, which I have raised already with GK, though it didn't dampen our days . The 0% was a delightful treat, and we were so glad we felt like we were 100% enjoying the christmas spirits . All snr staff were happy and delightful as always . Id 100% recommend this restaurant to anyone and especially if you're thinking of eating out christmas day !

My and my wife visited here on new years eve. At 6pm. We were told on the phone while booking a table. That between 5-8 pm. The set menu would be £39.95. So we thought ok let's see what on offer. Poppadoms with chutneys. Choice of starters. Onion Bhaji. Chicken Chat. Choice of mains. Lamb Jalfrezi. Pillow rice. Chicken Nawabi. Pillow rice. And a Naan bread. At extra cost. Glass of wine. And a diet Coke. We haven't been for a while. But £94.35. Is a very expensive for a average meal. Normally it would cost about £50. Why do they make expensive prices on new years eve. Sadly we won't be returning. 👎

Attended yesterday for a meal with my partner after work, and was amazed by this place, cannot believe we have never been here before and it is right on our doorstep, great value for money and amazing food will definitely be back and this is now our new local ! Ordered a delivery on a Saturday night, googles stated it was open so did their restraunt. I have placed an order for £70 and 1hr 30 later they do not answer the phone. My friend then rides to the restraunt to find out it’s all shut! I’m not £70 down no food and it was all advertised as open! Absolutely ridiculous now I’m going to have to claim the money back from the bank

Visited on a Sunday evening! We had poppadoms with a chutney tray which were really nice. I ordered a Chicken Chaat Starter which is my favourite starter but this Chicken Chaat was cold, bland & lacking flavour, the bread was hard. My husband had the Zaika mixed starter which he enjoyed but said it was cold. We ordered Tandoori mixed grills for our mains, garlic rice & garlic naan bread. The mixed grills were served on the traditional sizzle plates which hadn't been warmed so the food again was cold, the meat was plentiful but it was cold & tough. Garlic rice was ok but again cold, our curry sauces were OK but cold, the garlic naan was nice but couldn't see any garlic on it. Food should be piping hot when leaving the kitchen, maybe invest in warmers for customers tables to keep food warm, staff should maybe sit out of view of customers, restaurant was cold!

Ordered and it took 30 minutes after popperdoms for starter to come which was cold. Mains then took 25 minutes to come which were also cold, at this point we paid for our drinks and left. Toilets were unfinished and staff were lacking. Used to love it when it was Desi, I appreciate it is relatively new but 2 weeks after opening you would expect teething problems to be sorted. Very disappointing

Place has been newly refurbished, fabulous job they have made of it.The staff were excellent, fast service with such a friendly attitude and smile 😃. The food was delicious,we had a selection of mixed starters,tasted so different to the usual ones you get st most indian restaurants. I had the Tikka masala and my husband had the chicken Sylon,both really really good.Will most definitely be returning 👍👍

Honestly I've eaten in hundreds of indian restaurants over the years. But this was one Of the worst I've eaten in. Papadoms took nearly two hours to arrive. Starters non descript no taste. Mains where poor bland and if I'm not mistaken using frozen chicken srock no flavour/taste . No flavour at all . Had high hopes and since there was a little hype assumed be good. I would not recommend. AVOID

Recently visited with my partner not the first time. Each time we receive great service and food is delicious 😋 That evening was also live music so atmosphere was great. Second visit on 27th February with work mates,including pub quiz was great with the fantastic steak deal....order any steak get starter and desert for free, I order kangaroo steak first time in my life and I am delighted - was delicious, 😋 love this place will definitely come again 🤩

Absolutely wonderful meal to celebrate a milestone birthday. We took advantage of the steak deal, and were astounded by the quality. The steaks were cooked exactly as we'd asked, and the desserts we chose were beautiful. I've certainly never tasted a meal that was quite so good. Credit must go to Rachel. She had pre-booked the table of our choice, and by chance was serving on the night of our visit. We could not have asked for better, or more attentive service. Thank you to everyone involved for making this meal so special.

What can I say the staff went above and beyond tonight for me and my sons two friends with a drink on the house for us all and one for my son to sit on the table with us. As we sat and took the night to remember him on World prevention day 10th Sept and all those who also lost there lives too soon 💔. The staff also took the time to ask his name and said they would also have a drink for him, which was so thoughtful and touching so I would like to say a massive thankyou to the staff and it was very heart felt Thankyou

Have to update on this local pub. Had a late lunch today in here. Brilliant service food excellent. Just had fish , chips and peas as I fancied that. Hot, well cooked, good quality food. Fish absolutely tasty, beautiful white fish ,not greasy, in fact the whole meal was excellent. Such reasonable prices too. Can definitely recommend it x Local pub, friendly, good service , not a bad atmosphere and food really good, hot served well and reasonably priced. Can't go wrong for pub grub. Would definitely go back.

The pub still retains the principle of being a local for nearby residents. I was staying with family for a few days and it was a lovely venue to meet other family members. We sat outside one day and ate inside the other day. Both were very pleasant experiences.

I had such a amazing experience, the staff were polite, the meal was delicious one of the best meal iv had in a long time. Me and my partner spended abit of time looking at the menu because there was so many good options to choose from, we definitely will be coming back again. My new favourite restaurant!

Don’t think you can fault a local pub with such great offers on daily. Food has gone absolutely brilliant. Great selection of draught beers which go on offer on a Friday and Saturday between 8-10 which means your getting a premium pint for £3 or less. Staff are so lovely and kind especially Leah whose looked after all of our bookings as we regularly come for family gatherings which can be 10 of us. Food is always brought out hot and looks great.

Great welcome, Dog Friendly. We had a table booked for 8 of us, we had our little bundle of joy with us Bella (Cockapoo) and our table was rearranged to a dog friendly area. Friendly staff, although the service was a little disjointed. Food was good and arrived nice and hot. A nice dog friendly pub, we will visit again.

Staff polite and very helpful. Easy to put your order in and get served. Plenty of tables ready. Friendly atmosphere Good choice of drinks and reasonable price. Food didn't take long to arrive, all cooked perfectly and tasted lovely. We've been quite a few times to the Eight towers and will definitely be coming back soon.

Went for Sunday roast. First visit. Ordered 2 cheese garlic bread and 2roast turkey dinners. Dinners came. asked the girl where the starters were she said they were on the way. Presentation of the dinner was diabolical. Gravy all dry round the plates. Asked had they been microwaved she said no they had been under the light. Couldnt cut the yorkshire pudd.ing the rest looked like a plate of slops. Had definitely been microwaved.never had starters served with a main meal anywhere. Would never eat there again. Waste of money

We absolutely love it here. It is always warm and welcoming. The staff can’t do enough for you, We eat here at least 3 times per week and the food is outstanding. The farm shop also has a wide selection of amazing meat from Hogans Butchers. Definitely recommend. It’s a gem of a country pub

My first visit since the new owner's took over and I couldn't be more impressed. The food was excellent and the gluten free options are great. The price was very excellent for such a high standard of food. I would definitely recommend.

Absolutely fantastic 3 course Sunday Lunch for £25.00 per head... both beautifully cooked & presented... very attentive & friendly staff.. lovely few hours out the hubby and father... all the food was delicious, but the roast beef & apple crumble with custard, where absolutely second to none.... definitely recommend... and added bonus of Bertie 🐕cuddles from a neighbouring customer...

Fantastic food

I was looking forward to have a great dinner with my colleagues and was ready for as amazing food as I have in a restaurant called "Tasty Polish cooking" few miles away from Baltic Pearl. In the beginning we were welcomed and got a table behind the main entrance. I opened a menu a saw a huge selection of polish-lithuanian main dishes (plus bits from few more countries around). I ordered my favourite Solyanka soup which I had in all countries of former Soviet Union (Lithuania, Latvia, Ukraine, Armenia, Kazakhstan etc.) plus in some others like Bulgaria, Poland or Finland. My expectations were high, interior was well designed with warm Christmas lights and wooden finished. (slightly reminding mountain cottage). I got Solyanka after few minutes of waiting. I got bread as well. Bread was dry as Sahara, and soup was an absolute disaster. Cooked tomato passata from supermarket with some vegetables, vinegar and cheapest sausage. This soup was the worst Solyanka I've had among around 50 different restaurants around the world. It was even way worse than Solyanka I bought in plastic plate from Petrol station in south Latvia. I had few spoons and I would eat it if I was invited to someone's home just to be polite. But I refused to eat it here. Price 5£, my rating 2/10 Next dish was Placzek po Wengiersku (sorry for my poor polish skills). One of my favourite polish dishes. It's really hard to get wrong with it. Had it all across Poland and even a few polish restaurant abroad (UK, Germany, Lithuania..) This was way better than soup. Goulash was alright, could be way better, but I was hungry. Potato pancake too greasy, too thick and some parts, due to that, in the middle and on bottom edge weren't fried enough. Price 14£, score 6/10. Drinks were ok, you can't go wrong with that. Beer watery and average. I would give 2,5 stars out of 5, maybe even 3, because of great time we had as a friend's and colleagues.. but restaurant deserve less I'm afraid. Staff after first two appearances dissapear and forgot about us. They could be friendlier, it looked for us that at least one of girls was annoyed by her job. Restaurant was completely empty except of one table. Therefore 2 stars are well deserved. If you want to eat proper Polish home made food with amazing taste, great quality and very friendly and attentive staff, give it a 15minutes drive and eat at "Tasty Polish cooking" on the edge of Liverpool. Cheaper and way better.

I love the food in this restaurant, I had pleasant experiences and days spent here until it closed, and now at the reopening I was pleasantly surprised to see the new changes, I really like the idea of ​​the buffet, the food as usual the tastiest! All the workers very pleasant and friendly, receptive and attentive to our needs. We are very happy that it has reopened, we will definitely be loyal guests of this restaurant. I recommend it to everyone! Baltic Pearl is the best! P.S. For those who had an unpleasant experience, I recommend visiting this place again to change their mind! It must be taken into account that practically all the staff is new and they are still adapting. Be understanding!

From the moment we walked in we felt very welcomed. The atmosphere at Baltic Pearl is so cozy and inviting, perfect for a special evening out. The food and service was absolutely outstanding; the dishes was cooked to perfection and the flavors were incredibly fresh and balanced. We previously loved this takeaway and wish we didn’t have to write this review but with no email to contact and with the person over the phone telling me that there is no way to resolve a complaint/no manager for a week, I’m left no other option. We ordered Saag Paneer tonight and was given a dish made with melted cheddar cheese. I called up and asked if I could return the food because I had ordered it specifically for the paneer, but was told that that was not an option and that the Saag Paneer has not been made with paneer for 15+ years. I asked if I could have a refund as this was not stated on their website, the person on the phone said that only a manager could discuss that but that the answer would be a no. I asked to speak to a manager and was told that there wasn’t one in for a week, and that there is no email or written contact details. I’d love to have resolved this informally but now I’m needing to report this to trading standards as they’ve given me zero option to do anything about it. It’s a shame as we’ve always enjoyed the food previously.

My order was wrong i rang them to inform them to be told i was wrong. The curry was supposed to have meat in it was just sauce an mushroom the nan was the incorrect nan bread .. the worst indian i have ever been too

Been going here for the past 2 years never had a problem, but ordered tonight collection online, said ready about 18:08, which is roughly 40mins after being ordered….wasnt ready till 19:10….chips wear soggy and cold asif left in the heater, and curry’s lukewarm, really gutted as recommended this place to everyone

Originally, I am from Widnes, but I moved to Warrington several years ago, but whenever we go back to my parents' house (at least once a month), we order from here, by far the best curry house in Widnes We don't normally get curry in Warrington anymore because we have been spoilt by this place, as nothing compares. We have been getting takeaways from this place for over a year, and not once had a bad curry. Portions are great with plenty of meat and always hot and fresh. Staff are very friendly and helpful, and the owner is a really nice guy and always happy to have a chat.

Absolute abortion of a meal. I know it's new years eve but had to wait nearly four hours when ordered through just eat even though stated around 45 minutes wait. Chased up on on just eat chat and given more lies. Ended up collecting in person to receive an absolute abortion of a meal. Chicken vindaloo as per attached photos which contained more potato (yes potato) than chicken. Who the f@#k serves chicken vindaloo with potatoes??? If I hadn't had a drink this would have been launched straight back over the counter

Without doubt the best chippy in widnes. Not overpriced like some I could mention and the food and service is great. I live too far from ditton to travel there whenever I fancy a takeaway all though I should do as im never disappointed. I used to go derby road chippy but the prices are high and the meals seem to be getting smaller. It's rare I do good reviews but this shop deserves one.

Below average tasting food for the price they charge and the portion sizes are an absolute disgrace. Will never be going this chip shop again. It has gone completely downhill. If I could rate less than 1 star then I would, but unfortunately I can't.

This pizza is with (believe me or not) paprika. Ps. I dont need Dominos to replay me that I should contact customer service. We all need just good quality, unburned food instead of going back to restaurant and eat one hour after the rest of family.

Ordered from here using some just eat vouchers I was given. Pizza was barely edible with a strange powdery taste. If I’d had been paying full price I’d have been annoyed. Delivery was quick though.

Ordered a pizza never received it after 50 mins so rang too see where it was, too be told the delivery driver still had delivery’s, 1hour 15 mins still no pizza so rang, back too be told by the cheeky manager that it had returned back too them as they couldn’t find us, they said they rang but we had no calls even waited outside the house for them, Manager said they could return it but it will be cold I asked them if they could redo me another one, told me no I could only have that one, told him I wasn’t happy, so he said ok il refund you an put the phones on me!!! No apology or nothing Bad bad manger disgusting service, certainly wouldn’t be working for my company, never again will I get a pizza from there again!!

Neither of the 4 piece strippers had bbq dips with them, the festive pizza had no cranberry sauce drizzle and nothing was mentioned by staff when I arrived to pickup.

Very clean, has a nice little bench to sit on while waiting on your order, service was okay and got given a free small bbq dip when I asked for one rather than taking the garlic and herb dip back. Really spacious looking kitchen and organised. Pizza was good, bacon was a little too crispy for my liking and the dough seemed a little uneven and cut unevenly, but other than that pretty good.

Wasn't keen...very greasy chips it's a big shame, ive heard so many good reviews about this place standards may have slipped maybe...a chippy that had its day many people from widnes grew up with this chippy when it was great can't admit to themselves it's a dive now...sorry won't be returning - number 1 chippy reviewer north west

THE BEST fish I have ever tasted (with vinegar), and everything was fresh and piping hot! The only thing was the chips were a little soggy… Remember you need cash, but it is worth it, and affordable too!

I've been coming to 'Marie Barry's' since I attended Fairfield School. If you fancy something a little different, a little old fashioned, here's the place. Devine mushy peas and gravy. Gave 4 stars because the chips were soggy on my last few visits. However, I would recommend Marie's to anyone.

It was disgusting. We ordered 4 zinger burgers and they were warm, chips were cold, only the drink survived with some flavour. Couldnt order using app but still debited money, so ordered inside hence paid double. Definitely not again, McDonald's far better.

I usually go through the drive through but today I decided to go in store. A lovely girl named Caitlin served me and saying she went above and beyond for me would be an understatement. She was so chatty and kind and even complimented me on my makeup and the perfume I was wearing! She then said I could go and sit down and she would bring it over to me, then asked if I needed anything else. She truly made it feel like a 5* restaurant. As a 75 year old lady all I can say is that she truly brightened my day, as life at my age can be lonely. That young lady is a true star and K F C Widnes are lucky to have such a kind individual!

Ordered a mighty bucket for one (2 pieces of chicken, 2 chicken strips, 2 hot wings, fries and drink) was only given 2 chicken drumsticks as my chicken pieces, and there wasn't much to the chicken strips and hot wings either. It's as though they put the smallest amount of chicken in these boxes on purpose) I'd already driven home by the time I checked the contents so wasn't going back out to complain as it's not my local store.

A member of staff held the open door for me as I came in, which I find considerate. The branch is clean, the service was fast, and the food was produced quickly, well cooked and piping hot

Ordered Saturday night, they forgot the rice however they did bring it within 20 mins. (I wish they hadn’t) ate half of the rice Saturday night to see Sunday morning there was a PLASTER from someone’s finger in the rice! Took it back on Sunday when it opened for them to deny saying it wasn’t theirs and “no one uses plasters” Received a refund for the rice, not that they wanted to give it still refusing to admit the rice was from their shop (even with a receipt). AWFUL will never ever order from here again and this was our usual chippy of choice!

Ordered 3 x chicken salt & pepper noodle boxes.Far to hot and hardly any chicken.None of us could eat them. Rang shop and they said bring back and see if they could sort it... but we had guests so couldn't stand another 20 minutes at shop. Very dissapointing

We’ve had a few meals from here and they’re usually fine but tonight we were disappointed When we got home there was no Salt & Pepper chips and to top it off a big hair in my sweet & sour chicken with noddles. We rang the chippy, they apologised and sent a replacement. When we received the replacement there was no sweet & Sour chicken, just plain noodles and no salt and pepper chips. Not very happy .

Only interested in high value orders. Too busy making phone orders and Uber eats deliveries and to top the bad service off… only accepts card for payments over £5. This is not stated anywhere in the shop. No apologises for waiting and being ignored for a long time.

Always liked Paul's chippy until today! I travel 15 miles to Paul's as the chips are lovely. But today 12/08/25@1745pm the person who served me (looked like a homeless woman) was the rudist, moody, ignorent also she seemed very angry for some reason? Well that was my last visit to Paul's chippy, I will have to find a chippy closer to home, with staff that are welcoming. Avoid this plaice (see what I did there) 🛵

The food is always lovely BUT every order - they miss something 😂. Don’t even know how it’s possible like a bag of prawn crackers is quite obvious and just not that helpful when people are waiting for food. Have to wait 30 mins for someone to come back with the bits they’ve missed 🤷‍♂️

I have ordered for years, but tonight will unfortunately be my LAST, The smell of the king prawns made our stomach turn, the strongest smell of ammonia was concerning, whole order was absolutely disgusting 🤢. My previous review got deleted… I find it very strange how the owner/person replying to the reviews is VERY defensive & has the victim mentality, you can’t be like that when you own a business especially if it’s due to the food being in a poor hygienic manner.

We will go back to the Golden Flower in future. Friday evening we ordered just ordinary chippy grub ( not Chinese meals etc) it took 2 HOURS to arrive. We rang back after 1 hour and they said it will be with us in 25 minutes !!! Eventually turned up an hour later, and was swiftly sent back with the driver. Not good enough, no matter how busy it is.

Lovely heavy fish. Long but really thick and heavy. A stomach filler. Chips are a little hard for my taste. But that's just a personal choice. I like chunkier chips. Over all 2 fish and chips 2 drinks £13.80 not bad at all.

Rang this evening at 18:40 and placed an order to be delivered and to pay by cash, waited until 8pm and rang back to ask how long the delivery would be to which I got a snotty reply “ I did say 40 minutes” I then explained we had been waiting nearly an hour and a half, he checked my details and then said it was out for delivery. Again I waited another half an hour as I know it’s busy on a Friday. Still no delivery. I rang back to be put on hold twice and then told that they had already knocked which was a lie as I had my television on low to be sure I heard them knocking. The man then asked how we was going to pay I said cash. He then went on to say well that’s weird because the food was delivered. I wasn’t born yesterday theirs no way the delivery driver would give food to somebody that hasn’t paid. Absolutely avoid at all costs. Unprofessional and an absolute waste of time. I wouldn’t even give it a one star.

Waited 30 minutes for my food, because no one was at the counter when I got the order it didn’t come with dips and the the drink advertised was not available, THEN my chip where bearly cooked and my chicken nuggets had onion or raw potato in it (picture 1 the potato or onion) (Picture 2 is what I ordered, you can see there is dips on there that I didn’t receive and I had to ask for some) (picture 3 the drinks we got)

Awful experience. Ordered an oreo mcflurry and a hot chocolate. The oreo mcflurry was almost empty and the hot chocolate was like water, absolutely vile. How anyone can barely fill a mcflurry and feel its acceptable is shocking. Was literally less than a quarter of ice cream in the tub.

Absolutely unacceptable service. I ordered a Chicken Nugget Happy Meal and the fries — one of the main items — were completely missing. This isn’t just a small oversight; it shows a total lack of care and professionalism. The management at this branch clearly has no grip on quality control, and the staff seem poorly trained and uninterested in getting even the simplest orders right. Customers shouldn’t have to double-check their meals at the counter to make sure McDonald’s can manage the basics. Serious changes in management and training are urgently needed before more people walk away for good.

Embarrassment of a McDonald's. If you want to wait 30+ mins to receive your fast food then order away! Staff incompetent and just seem to be hanging around in groups. Given food only to be missing items and having to wait a further 10mins for my drink. No apology, no offer to provide fresh hot fries. Avoid at all costs. Been multiple times to this branch and each time it's an absolute shambles.

What a lovely bunch of staff in this McDonald’s! The cleaner brought me some napkins over, just as I needed them and the girl with the pink streak in her hair was so friendly and helpful. Absolute joke, today Thursday 10th July was waiting for 25 minutes for ONE cheese burger staff was chatting away to each other and walking about literally doing nothing. Worst McDonald's in Britain. Waiting 10 minutes for 2 hot drinks, avoid this branch at all costs. Had family come here for food in the past and ended up waiting one hour, Not very fast food, if I could give it 0 stars, I would.

I went in today specifically for cookies and ended up waiting for about 10 minutes. During that time, three staff members were behind the till, preparing a delivery, but none of them acknowledged me or offered any help. They were busy completing two orders, and a third in-store order, yet I was the only customer waiting. Eventually, another customer came in and had to wait for about 1-2 minutes before being served, but I was never approached. Frustrated, I made a comment to my kids about going home and baking cookies instead, as it seemed like it might be quicker. I then left and went to the Co-op next door to get a treat for my kids. This experience was a letdown, especially since my previous visit was fine. I won’t be returning until I see an improvement in customer service. I hope you can look into this matter and ensure better service moving forward.

Supposed to be open until 8pm. Yet get told at 6.30pm it is takeaway only. Not sure what time they have been saying this since? As noone in there. I understand they have to clean up. But they shouldn't advertise open until 8pm. So lost my custom.

I ordered a meal deal through Uber eats as well as hash brown’s and an extra cookie separately and I only got the sandwich hash browns and 1 cookie was missing the drink crisps and cookie and tried ringing multiple times but there’s just no answer. Also the hash browns came out of the box aswell

Scruffy place, mess everywhere, doesn't look like its ever been cleaned. There was sauce of the worktop on my sandwich, didn't eat will never go back here again.

Waited 15 mins from first ordering to actually paying, it took 4 members of staff to actually make my sub and when I got it this was the final product!!!! Absolutely shocking service, staff didn't have a clue!!!!!!

This subway has gone downhill and when this opened back in 2015 this used to be a good subway and the staff in there used to do a brilliant job and they used to have friendly staff but I don’t know what has happened to this place since I came back and I used to work next door to this subway

I'm sad. Ordered a pizza and garlic bread and wraps and Donna meat. Jesus the pizza at the bottom looked burnt. Do you clean your pizza oven? It's a shame. I thought it would be nice.

Really gone downhill. Offered 25% discount code, didn’t work on the website. Garlic bread with cheese was burnt, rock hard and wafer thin. Greek pizza shows pepperoni in the photo but comes with chicken? Was tasteless. Chicken meal deal is now £10, chicken is some nasty cheap thin stuff doesn’t come with a dip. Very disappointed. And will never order from here again. 1/10.

Really fast delivery tonight. Pizzas were both lovely - couldn’t even get a photo taken quickly enough! Italian thin base is great. Also got chips and everything was nice and hot by the time it arrived. We have an awkward address and they called in advance to make sure they had it right which I thought was fantastic service. Probably the worst food we’ve had, ordered extra cheese on the pizzas and they came with barely any at all, 2 of them were that overcooked they were like cardboard, the fries had zero seasoning on at all. And the real kicker is that for 3 pizzas and fries it was over £45 and it wasn’t fit for the bin! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

This used to be our go to however Pizzas used to cost 11 quid each but now they’ve re-opened again on just eat they’re nearly 15 pounds? Please put the prices back down not a lot of people are willing to pay 15 pounds for a 12 inch pizza as well as the 3/4 pound delivery

It's actually impressive how often this place gets orders wrong! Atleast by pure luck they should get it right more often than they do. Here is a picture of my "only cheese" quarter pounder, I suppose this is a slight improvement on previous attempts as they actually used the correct meat on this one. Unfortunately any further improvements will be lost on me as I'm now done with mcdonalds as a whole. Rumour has it were getting a burger king so fingers crossed 🤞

They took my order and I paid for the McDonald's Arch and I got a big mac instead. What's worse is I always ask if my order is what it is as McDonald's is pretty famous for mistakes, when I got to the window to collect I asked the heavy thickset Indian girl, is this the McDonald's Arch and she said yes.. so she's not been trained to distinguish between the big mac box and the Arch? Or if she has.. then maybe thickset can have another meaning in this case.

I had a rare trip to maccies and went through the drive through so was home before I saw my order- the Philly cheese stack was 2 burgers a load of runny cheese and 2 pickles- not an onion (crispy or grilled) in site! I got a portion of mozzarella sticks/bites but only got 2 instead of 3 and no dip- all very disappointing!

The day I went every screen filthy the internal glass partitions filthy , the door to toilets filthy . The restaurant smelt of sour mop . It was not particularly busy and staff were emptying bins , tables being filthy a lot of the table mess down to the customers but the overall cleanliness of the place and the smell ( not food smell ) is down to the restaurant. As good as a McDonalds can get. Quick service no matter the time of day / night and staff in store are always equally friendly at all hours. I’ve been coming to this McDonalds and another in Widnes at about an equal 50/50 split and can say that this restaurant by far takes first place. I’m only eventually leaving a review (because who really reviews a maccies?) after todays visit. As a manager (Emily) was passing I, very sceptically, enquired about the new Shamrock Shake and she couldn’t have been happier to help out and even offered me a small sample to try before I buy. She later, as she passed me eating, asked how my food / drink was. Again, it’s only a maccies, but it’s little things like this that really make a store stand out from the others. I’m massively impressed with the level of service from Emily today, and surprisingly the Shake too. 5 stars.

Absolutely outraged would be an understatement!! Sat in the queue waiting for over 23 minutes whilst being type 1 diabetic. I phoned up the store whilst stuck queuing to see what the hold up was as the time length I was waiting I was genuinely concerned if or any other member of public was seriously hurt. The manager which was female which who I spoke to on the phone couldn't tell me what the hold up was whilst when I got to the till to pay for my order the man who served me infuriated me with his lack of people skills by simply smiling and telling me that the computer had crashed not to mention the lack of options as everything was broken. Its a pity I can't leave 0 stars!! Avoid this McDonald's at all cost as there is more movement in a cardboard cut out!! 0 hospitality.

Probably the slowest Macdonald's in the north, and for counter service the worst I've been two, local to where I work some days so convenient but 150% the staff are instructed to look after the delivery service rather than those who make the effort to visit as it like your invisible when at the counter unless your there to pick up a delivery. Surprisingly really as when you order a delivery (3 so far I have tried) all 3 have been wrong and missing items and then it's just tuff you cannot do anything about it not the staff but the management needs to sort out in house customer service it really is so poor

We placed an order on Saturday to be delivered on Sunday as we were having a family get together (23 of us) to remember our late dads 90th birthday 🎂 We were really impressed with the prompt arrival of the food . The delivery girl was lovely and friendly. The food was delicious and they had added a few extras. The portion sizes were great. Everyone enjoyed their meals so it’s 10/10 . Every time I go here the owner is lovely to me and other customers and the food is lovely.

Great chippy, never really had a bad meal from Noble House and the prices are easily worth what you get, fast delivery too.

The food was gorgeous! We hadn't been to this Chinese for over a year and it's definitely much nicer than we remembered. Customer service was amazing, the ladies were so lovely and also gave us some freebies. Will definitely order again! Yum!

Food poor , barely any meat on the tiny ribs and sauce thin and sparse. Ordered sweet n sour chicken. Received a bag of large battered. Chicken and watery sauce separately. Salt n pepper chips horrid and dry. Service slow n staff not friendly. First and last time I'll buy from here.

Driver wouldn't get out of the car I had to go to him when I asked for a minute when he rang to make me come out he complained after I got out there. Food was all mashed up in the boxes

It’s a shame because I have used this take away for a while. However, there have been a few incidents when I have needed to call and the same guy answers who is incredibly impatient and rude! Tonight I waited 2hours for my order, when I called to ask about this, he told me they had no order and I needed to order again online. I told him that I had the confirmation and that the money was taken out of my account. He hung up! I ended up driving round there, the rude guy was stood in the back and obviously didn’t come out. Another guy came over and had found my order, he was very apologetic, got my order ready as quickly as he could and gave me some free cake. However I will not be ordering from here again. The attitude on the phone is absolutely horrendous and judging from all the other reviews, they are losing a lot of custom due to this one guy.

Took almost an hour and a half to arrive. Food stone cold. Also, you'd think a donner would actually be assembled instead of them sending you the parts to put it together yourself. But maybe they didn't do it because what was supposed to be a naan bread supplied with it was stale and broken into pieces. Will never order from here again, awful.

Rung a few minutes after ordering to ask if they could send a plain garlic bread due to allergies because they never take notice of the notes..only to be told no it’s already been sent.. I waited over a hour when I phoned them back i was told aggressively he didn’t have time to talk and then he slammed it down on me. When it was finally delivered it was so cold it went in the bin..anyway would not recommend them to anyone

Honestly it was a bit disappointing given so great reviews. The plaice was average, the crust was a bit soggy, the cod was a bit dry. The scampi and salt and pepper popcorn chicken were not too bad. The most annoying thing was how the mushy peas are in the fries. I suspected it would be the case as there was no choice of salt / vinegar when ordering, which is unusual for a chippy, so I added instructions of salt and vinegar and the peas on the side. They were ignored to my partner's detriment.

Came here tonight purchased chips and OK sauce amongst other things, the sauce was dished up in the back. When I got home i found a fly squashed in the lid of the sauce which of course completely put me off. Really not happy because I was looking forward to this but then it made me think of how sanitary it is behind there if you can serve customers with flys in the food. Not happy atall Also, the large portion of chips is not worth it atall, a few others have mentioned that their portions are small but that was just ridiculous

I never normally write reviews but this was a joke tonight. Ordered via uber eats. Sends order with amendments, I got a notification back on the app saying they can’t amend ingredients and if I accept the order comes as standard with no changes to accept and it would go through or be cancelled, I did this and it said order was fine. I called to ask where the food was and a unhelpful lady said track it on uber it will tell you (rude) Over one hour later still no food. Called back and she says oh we cancelled it we are too busy to customise orders even tho I sent the order back as a normal order with no changes. Disgusting service. 3 children still with no food because we was waiting on this order! Awful customer service.

We have always had great food from here but tonight it was not great. The fish and chips had been served in a cardboard box and there were about half the chips that we normally get. They were soggy and very greasy as if we got what was in the end of the fryer. I hope this was just a bad night and it's not a newer poorer standard of food.

Took a drive over here with the intention of trying their fish and chips. I didn’t go into the shop as I could see from outside one the fellas touching items in the warming cabinet with bare hands. Very unhygienic 🤢

It's constantly online and seems to be taking money from people, yet it's been closed since early December. There's still prawn crackers in the hot hold that have been there for months. I live facing it, not once has it been open. Don't try and order from here.

Ordered online and was told it would be ready 6:45 got there and was told it would be another ten minutes, staff just stood on their phone. Got my food at 7:20 got home 5 minute drive and everything other than the rice was cold, called to tell them and was asked to bring all the food back and they would change it. Not good enough after it was late and cold, no offering of anything and was told “what do you want me to do”. Food also isn’t as nice as it used to be char Sui fried rice was literally char Sui and rice normally there’d be peas and other bits added in but just basic, tasteless and crap

I wish I could give a zero...preordered for early delivery. When they hadn't arrived 30mins after due delivery I tried calling and it just rings out! This order has been paid for and I cannot get in touch with them. Absolute disgrace! DO NOT ORDER AND WASTE YOUR MONEY!

Not even worth 1 star, absolutely utterly disgusting food and service. To begin with the 4 staff were stood staring at us making it very awkward when trying to select our food. The salt and pepper chicken I got was somehow well overcooked, very chewy and difficult to swallow, but the batter was soft and gooey. Disgusting!! Girlfriends meal fared no better, her chips where practically raw on the middle, and she seemingly only received a desert spoon full of gravy over the top. The whole thing went in the bin, never again. This used to be a top notch chippy, no more!!

Has an awful meal last week -chicken very chewy and two pieces of pineapple in chicken and pineapple. No cashew nuts that I had requested to be added even though we were charged for them and crispy duck had no spring onions or cucumber with it- when I rang to complain the lady said she would put a note on our address for 2 free meals but when rang up this week the lady didn’t remember and nothing has been written down. It was like we were telling lies! Luckily the chef remembered I think and we got our meals free- which were very tasty and had cashew nuts in.

Simple call in after work for salt & pepper ribs, salt & pepper chips! Ribs were simply laced with American red salt & some onion & peppers! Exactly the same with the chips! Honestly the worst salt & pepper items I have ever ordered nationwide & that’s some statement! If you not going to do it properly then just close & stop taking peoples money for absolutely rubbish food. Previous reviews say it all! This chippy has gone terrible since George’s departure

Girl behind the counter is NOT ready to serve customers, she needs more training she was completely lost. They messed the order up completely, and when questioned they argued back when it was clearly wrong. (We asked do you serve fish strips, they said yes, we ordered them. They then made normal fish which we didn't want, they also put the fishcake on the wrong food and added someone else's order to ours) and then when they passed the food to use they didnt even tell us the price they where just stood there staring at us??? the New management are a joke this place wont last 5 minutes. Worst chippy in Widnes. Also fyi a guy bought a sausage and said it was horrible so avoid that.

Never received food staff absolutely disrespectful spent £35 on food I never received they acted clueless at first like they have never received my order then as soon as I sed I want a refund they magically find my order an said it had been delivered and it hadn’t

“Iced” coffee arrived with not one distinguishable ice cube and was lukewarm. Didn’t drink it as it tasted disgusting. It is clear that the drink was made as soon as the order came in, and left to sit there on a hot day to melt. Won’t be coming here again and I am very disappointed. I expect more for a £4 drink.

We work in an office nearby and frequently visit Select Sandwiches for both breakfast and lunch. The speed of service and the quality of the food are consistently excellent, making it our go-to spot for a quick bite. While we wouldn’t recommend sitting inside, as it can get quite busy and stuffy when the door isn't open, the takeaway experience is top-notch. The staff are always incredibly friendly, and their customer service adds to the overall appeal of the place. More vegetarian options would be a welcome addition, but overall, we love this place for its convenience, quality, and great service.

Used to be reasonably priced now ur talking £2.80 for a small portion of chips, no service with a smile, asked for plenty salt and vinegar and to which I got neither! Will be going elsewhere next time, who have same quality food just cheaper! And smile when they take your money!

Big portions, good price, you can put as much of salt and vinger for your taste, do fish bites which is a good idea and makes the place unique. Furthermore the staff are very helpful and nice. The seating inside doesn’t have much however outside is perfect and relaxful next to the band stand.

Fish and peas £7.20 Peas spot on the fish was let down as it was the heavy encasement batter I prefer the light crispy batter with bubble's the cod inside was fine

I have been arriving at this outstanding place of service every Saturday for 2-3 years now. Each and every week we visit this exquisite chip shop , the staff are extremely kind and always love to have a chat with their customers. I also find that this business is very clean and there never seems to be a speck of dirt in this place! I love the food in here as it is always marvellous and well - cooked ! I would also like to mention that the staff have a very difficult job ( managing the cash registers and making the delicious food ) so it is always great to see them being so happy and cheery throughout our time we have visited. Rang up this morning or order salt and pepper chicken pasta and also a sausage on toast. I’m a regular customer here and go whenever I am in work, a lot of times there is one lady who has a terrible attitude. Today I went after being told to wait 20 mins which I was fine with, I went after 20 mins and told the lady I was here to collect my order, the lady in the back then buts in and says “I told you 20 minutes the pasta isn’t ready” even tho it had been 22 minutes she tried to say it had been 5 mins until proving her wrong. Moral of the story. Learn how to speak to customers who spend there hard earned money in your business. Or you might not have one 👍🏻 I ate my sausage on toast which was burnt and then took my pasta back as it had items in that I didn’t ask for.

If I could give zero stars, I would. I have been meaning to write this review for a month or so. The old looking member of staff, I assume the boss, was rude, defensive and accusatory when I was given my order incorrectly and it contained not only something I am allergic to, despite telling them this on the phone, but also multiple hairs! Another staff member chimed in and I honestly felt rather intimidated by these women. I used to love this place when the two gents owned it, but it has gone downhill immensely since then, not only the rude staff members, but also the food quality and the wait times, despite never being busy. I guess being empty on a Friday lunchtime was more than likely a sign for me not to eat there… (Silly me). It’s a joke of an establishment. I’d honestly think twice about visiting, especially with other eateries nearby which are much more worth your time and money, such as Zena’s, who are twice as busy, but still twice as quick!

Good place the grab a sandwich or cake. Quick and friendly service. Only negative is that there isn't much choice if you're vegetarian other than a cheese toastie, baked potato or an omelette.

Called in to Hot Stuff today after taking my 79 year old Mum shopping. We decided to have a little picnic at Pickering Pastures. The sandwiches were so fresh and tasty and the latte was delicious. I forgot to pick our cold drinks up so they only came to drop them off while we had our little car picnic. Fantastic food and service.. Thank you so much.

Was just passing by and picked this at random, was not disappointed. We both had the hot beef and onion sandwich with mustard mayonnaise and it was delicious. It’s a good job I don’t live around here as I’d be here every day.

Always get a good breakfast sandwich here, the girls are so friendly aswell when ordering or just chatting while waiting for your food.

I only gave one star because it wouldn't let me put 0. Absolutley dreadful. Order took 2 hours to arrive, and when it got here the cookie dough looked like it had been dropped on the floor and flung into a box with some cheap 'snickers' on top, cold! The waffles were clearly shop bought waffles and missing half of the toppings requested and paid for and barely warm! I understand bank holiday is a busy time, but 2 hours for 2 desserts to be delivered, I'd expect for the standard of food to be miles better than it was. Don't waste your money!

Listed a Valentine’s Day deal but did not honour it, we even went to the store to purchase as usually these deals are in-store/collection only. Milkshakes were tasteless and like water, and the cookie dough was burnt. This place has gone really bad. Do not recommend.

Standards have really gone downhill, I would not recommend this place to anyone. All orders were wrong, its mothers day, so understandably they are busy. The attitude to my young daughter on the phone was shocking to say the least. 1 Shake missing , 4 ice creams missing, 2 cookie doughs were wrong although they argued this one ?however our receipt proves us correct. No sauce in shakes even though paid for and potions were literally laughable. Please dont waste your money on sub standard service and food. So many nicer places are available. If you google search. I like the new one in halton view.

Absolutely disgusting! Paid for chocolate fudge brownie Ben and Jerry's and got plain vanilla ice-cream.. the pancakes were freezing and looked like they had been bounced off the wall with barley any toppings .. Booked for a delivery slot and was still 45 minutes late and I'm literally 5 minutes away from the place . Girl who delivered seemed lovely but delivered the wrong order then came back.. Obviously needs to be more careful with a pandemic going on and I had touched someone else's order!! Definitely not worth it! Would avoid this place..

This food was absaloutly terrible. My 2 brothers really like food and are not picky eaters at ALL. Second the staff are very rude food takes to long to get here we ordered at 17:08 and it arrived 30 minutes late. First and last time ordering here. Food looked like it was prepered by a 2 yr old. Much rather get mcdonalds instead. Also did i mention it was a complete waste of my dad and mums money.

Food was delivered over 2 hours after I ordered it and wasn't told it was going to be late until I chased them up 20 minutes after the expected delivery time - after which was still 10 minutes late. Then after 6 calls to the shop to simply check on the order, I was answered by some horrible, passive-aggressive woman telling me "well, it's not even late anyway" even though they had only just delayed the expected delivery time 30 minutes after it was initially expected and I just wanted to confirm the order was coming. I said I wasn't even complaining and she decided to hang up on me. A quick apology and clarification would have sufficed but now will be chasing up to get my money back for unnecessarily rude customer service and lack of updates for delayed services.

Ordered cookie dough, chicken wings, Mozzarella stick and ice blasts. It was bloody awful! Waited 2 and a half hours for stone cold chicken wings, stone cold mozzarella sticks and cookie dough that was rock hard stuck to the bottom of the box. Will NOT be ordering again. Terrible.
