This place is ought to provide high-quality service and food since the prices are fairly high. I have order a burger with loaded fries and a drink: these all have costed me over £20. While I did really enjoy the fries (they were crispy and there was plenty of them), the burger did not meet my entire expectations. As the name of the establishment suggests that they specialise in food like burgers, I expected the burger to be a bit bigger and more juice since it felt quite dry and not much flavour containing. However, if you fancy to eat decent quality junk food beyond the most famous brands and willing to pay for this - The Meat Shack is the place to give a visit. I liked the cutlery options and the atmosphere with a lot of graffiti on the walls. Nothing special about the service, though they show a respectful enough treatment. You are also asked to wait at the entrance until they find a free table for you. Overall, it is OK. Nothing shocked nor impressed me.

I love the paintings on the wall, pretty cool and interesting. The staff and music are great. The food I would say not as good as I expected. It’s good, just not that good. The salt and pepper chicken bombs are nice. The burger has lots of sauce included, which is nice. But the meat are not juicy, doesn’t looks like fresh cooking but reheated. Overall, it’s nice place to have a quick bite but don’t expect too much.

Go here. The Meat Shack serves good tasting burgers, nice fries and tasty beer. The two of us went here for a mid week meal and enjoyed the food and the beer. The buns were soft but didn’t instantly fall apart when touching the beef. The meat was tasty and cooked to my liking. The serving staff were friendly and nice. The fries were a little expensive but you can’t have burger without fries so hey ho. The venue had a cool vibe with good graffiti on the walls and good music. The atmosphere rating took a hit on here because of a large group with 4 or 5 kids getting bored and racing around.

Wow I was blown away by the Meat Shack! I am a big chicken fan and this place really exceeded expectations. I found it on Google maps, looked like my kind of thing, was quite a trek mind, totally worth it though. Don't know where to start, the small chicken plates, the messy fries, fries were all incredible. Sauces were wild, dressing was perfect, everything was so well presented, everything was red hot, everything tasted amazing. Service was fast and friendly, place is clean and buzzing. Highly recommended, I can't wait to go back.

Great food, good experience but not quite perfect. Went to The Meat Shack and ordered a feast, which was more than two people could eat. The burgers are excellent, thick beef patties and quality ingredients make an absolute feast of a meal. However the trays the burgers arrive in are a bit fiddly and make the eating experience messier than it needs to be. The dirty fries are nice, but next time, I'd order plain fries to contrast better with the burger. Good value and would recommend. 4 stars

Great menu, great atmosphere, great staff, great vibe. Staff were friendly and welcoming. There is a relaxed atmosphere here but customer service is excellent as is the food. The menu is interesting and what I chose was of excellent quality as was the choice of my colleague. I'd happily eat here again.

The service was great, place is nice but the food sadly isn't great. The boa buns lacked flavour and they were lukewarm at best. Not sure what the fuss is about. They were nice but that's about it nothing great with a lack of flavour to them. The pork belly was the best one the beef shin was totally tasteless.

We popped in here for a quick snack . After being greeted warmly we were ushered upstairs. Apart from bao bubs there were also rice dishes too. I had the pork belly with cured yolk and a side of bokchoy and mushrooms For drinks I chose the shaghai which packed a lot of punch! The flavours were incredible and would have tried more if were not eating later on! We did share a sorbet trio of strawberry, coconut and pineapple. Delicious. Overall good service just wish the side of bokchoy had more mushrooms and was less pricy for that it was

I’ve been a big fan of TBP since their days near New Street Station — they were my go-to lunch spot, and I always looked forward to visiting. I’ve only been to the new location twice, and unfortunately, both visits left me a bit disappointed. The first time, the chicken didn’t smell quite right, and the second time, the rice was undercooked. I even brought friends along for the second visit, and they shared the same experience with the rice. That said, I do appreciate that the team made adjustments to the bill, which shows they care about customer satisfaction. I still love TBP’s food — you can tell each ingredient is prepared with care. I’m hopeful that our next visit will be more in line with the quality I remember from their original spot.

The most amazing Red Braised Pork Belly, It quite literally melts in your mouth, highly recommend the sweet and sour pork side dish, the most succulent pork I have ever tasted, and seasoned perfectly. Highly recommend for all occasions, nice atmosphere and lovely service!!!

I cannot even begin to describe how good the rice bowls are here, genuinely the the best. I make sure I visit each time I visit the town centre. Cannot wait to come back, best pork ever hands down! ***EDIT*** The above review was at the old location. This new location has ruined what made it so special. The food itself doesn't seem the same, smaller portions, less meat, less pickled veg, no nut sauce... Everything that was good about it feels to have gone... after being an avid support of TBP, I feel there's no longer a reason to come here. Sad. You can even see the difference in the photos of the rice bowls instantly.

We found this place by chance, but had seen it come up in a recent list of good Asian food places in the city. We intended to go for a meal but thought we would have a starter here before we moved on. Enticed by the menu, we ordered a few things and we were really impressed by what was delivered. Great flavour and texture in every dish. We will definitely return and recommend it. The atmosphere let it down but really it is an in and out joint.

Superb Bao, the pork belly, beef shin, duck and lamb were all amazing. (Vegan is available) . Really close to the centre. Not far from pigeon park. Nice cocktails and beers also.

One of the best chicken I’ve ever had. Food came out piping hot, with crispy skin on the outside and juicy inside, best combo with waffle fries. The place and its decor also has a lot of character.

Boneheaded is the best fried chicken I have ever had. Period. I honestly can’t emphasise enough how much I love this place. Love the atmosphere and the moody decor; staff are always quick to hand and attentive; food is outstanding - cooked perfectly and incredibly well seasoned. Check out the pictures, they speak for themselves. My go to is the buffalo soldier doubled up with cinema waffle fries (not pictured). It’s walk in only, and 100% worth a visit, repeatedly! Don’t skip this place if in Birmingham, you’ll regret it!

Me and my son visited Birmingham as we were down for the Back To The Beginning Black Sabbath concert, we headed to Bonehead the night before. WOW what a place, some of the best fried chicken I've ever had. The waffle fries were amazing too. The food was only topped by the incredible atmosphere, and the friendly and helpful staff who couldn't have done any more for us.....if I could squeeze another star in I would 🤘😀🤘

Bonehead is a place we’ve always wanted to visit. There was a short 20 min wait to enter, but we were expecting longer, so we were more than happy to wait. After 15 mins o got a text to say the table is ready. My partner ordered the thighs & tots and was very impressed with the meal. I thought her portion size was great too. I had the Bonehead Burger & Katsu Tots, and in the end I was a little jealous of my partners order instead. The burger was good, I wasn’t overly keen on some of the flavours of the sauce on the burger. I thought the Katsu sauce was a little sweet & not even on the tots, just a dollop underneath the garnish. Overall i thought it was okay. If I was to come back I’d 100% get the thighs on their own as it’s not only a bigger potion, but cheaper too. I’d also go for a different flavour tots. The gravy was really nice too. The interior was a bit of me, and I really liked the playlist too.

Best chicken burger (and probably best chicken) I’ve ever had. Super juicy, tender and flavourful, and came in nicely sized portions. The waffle fries are super crispy and delicious too. It does get very busy but it’s well worth the little extra wait.

Great service and top music! I had the hothead wings and hothead thigh and leg, juicy and crispy...but could have done with more heat. If you are a Nashville Hot Chicken aficionado, ask for some extra heat on your bird. I would certainly recommend.

It was an excellent choice to eat here as the food was very delicious, the service was perfect and we had to taste new things for the first time. The atmosphere, however, is a bit of a problem since the restaurant is so small. I'm not tall but yet I felt uncomfortable in the tiny middle table. Albeit that, everything was a delight.

Although the beer choices here were somewhat limited compared to other places, the food did not disappoint. It is a little bit less pub-like and seems more semi-formalish. The food portions were very generous and there was nothing we complained about the taste. Overall a good experience, and the service was very attentive.

I visited Indian Streetery as my last ever meal in Birmingham, before moving away. The food was amazing. The service was spot on. I can’t recommend it enough. Prices are reasonable, especially for a city centre venue with 10/10 meals. The stories linked to each dish on the menu are a nice touch. If I’m ever back in Brum, I’d definitely return for another feast!

All of the staff were so lovely, attentive and knowledgeable. They gave perfect recommendations that definitely didn’t disappoint. The food was amazing and so were the cocktails! Would definitely come again!

Solid Indian fare - serving full dishes and Tapas small plates, which I found to be quite large! I would have liked a few more peas and cheese in the Mutter Paneer but only because the sauce was so beautifully tasty, and I wanted it to take longer to eat! The Roti selections were interesting and good and the Yellow Dhal was totally authentic. I didn't need the 'third plate' which was recommended, maybe because I was disappointed by the lack of pakora and far too much Chaat. My mistake really. The Mango IPA beer complemented the food perfectly.

I had a very very disappointing experience at The Indian Streatery. The glasses were not clean, and the pakora chaat we ordered had burnt pakoras with only one pakora and sev, which spoiled the taste. The girl serving us showed attitude right from the moment we entered the restaurant. On top of that, the food was not fulfilling or satisfying. Overall, it was not a pleasant visit, and I hope the management improves both the food quality and customer service.

We came here via the First Table app, not knowing what it'd be like. Wow! Delicious flavours in a beautifully varied array of dishes. The street food is great for sharing, do you get a variety. Highly recommend

Really great food and lovely, attentive servers. Highly recommend the thali options as a way to sample multiple dishes. Was even given some takeout containers to take my leftovers home, because the portions were very generous. Will definitely be back.

Brilliant experience for my second time here and my mom's first time. We came around 12:30 and left around 2pm. Staff are very welcoming and attentive. Food was amazing, and very flavoursome. Would definitely recommend!

Indico is a colourful Indian restaurant that seamlessly combines street cuisine charm with a contemporary dining experience. Upon walking into the restaurant, I noticed the atmosphere and how bright and lively it is, with Bollywood-inspired décor making it feel exciting and welcome. The food was flavourful – the Gol Gappa Bombs especially! and the Butter Chicken which are the main standouts. The Thaali provided a diverse selection of curries and sides and the servings are big. The staff is friendly, accommodating and attentive! They checked in on us through out the night. Iqbal made sure he took care of us and made the experience overall so much better. Indico is an excellent choice for anyone looking for authentic Indian cuisine with a modern touch. Perfect for social dinners or special events.

What a fantastic restaurant. Authentic experience and very unique. If you are looking for Indian food with a different experience you should come here. Great idea before a theatre visit or a night out with friends and family. Iqbal was brilliant, advised on food choice and gave exceptional customer service. Visited Land yesterday for a six course taster menu and I was not disappointed. Staff were extremely attentive and could not do enough for you.The menu seemed very simple at first glance with a brief description of the key ingredients, which added to the excitement of what it would look like and taste like. Each course was beautifully presented and the staff would explain exactly what you were eating. Speed of service was excellent too, maybe ten minutes between courses. There was also an excellent choice of drinks on offer, soft drinks, cocktails and wine. If anyone ever thought vegan food was boring then just visit Land and see how wonderful plant based food can be. I have been vegetarian/vegan for forty plus years and I have never experienced anything like this. A perfect afternoon of great Company with a wonderful friend and amazing food. We particularly enjoyed the artichoke starter, the beetroot course and the squash course and I must mention the gorgeous warm sourdough bread with herb butter. We had three dishes served to us first, they were all an exploration of flavours and textures: The dashi, ponzu and Radish was Punchy, sharp and crisp The charcoal, squash and yoghurt was Bold with a mild centre The mushroom, barley and walnut was Crunchy, earthy and crunchy in texture with a pleasantly earthy aftertaste The milk bread with cultured butter was the next dish served to us, the bread was warm, seedy and inviting with a soft, pillow-y texture and the cultured butter was cool with a slightly tangy undertone which brought out the flavours in the bread The main dishes and drinks were then brought out in this order: Dish #1 and drink #1: The tofu, turnip and shimeji dish was compromising of chewy mushroom, delicate and subtle turnipthat elevated the textures of the melt in your mouth tofu with a crispy but light exterior which which was topped with an earthy sharp, smoky and pleasantly bitter Kimchi dashi broth Paired with a drink with a citrus-y aromatics that was sharp and zesty in flavour. Drink #2: We were then served an alcohol free apricot liqueur that was mellow, lightly sweet and slightly floral in taste. Dish #2: The sweetcorn, chili and black sesame dish was creamy, crunchy and garlicky with a mild but flavourful chilli punch and a delicate and easy to palete base that made the whole dish warm and comforting to digest Drink #3: It was an in-house drink made from their own spices with a spicy aromatic that makes the tumeric the star that gives a gentle tingling sensation to your throat, making you feel like you have cleansed your tastebuds. It also provides a gentling of the gut, making it easier to digest more. Dish #3: The squash, Thai green curry, shallot and tamarind dish was the third served and the squash was sweet and extremely tender -- the thai green curry was smooth and had a spicy kick, the tamarind was spiced and fruity and the rice cracker was light and salty when combined they all harmonise flawlessly to create a flavourful and well balanced dish. Drink #4: The green stuff drink was served to us made from a variety of different greens. It had a natural yet perfume like aroma but a mellow yet bitter taste to it. Dish #4: The tomato, tapioca and wild garlic dish consisted of a tomato that had a fresh and natural flavour to it with a gentle and floral undertone from the wildflowers that was amplified by the strong yet slightly chewy garlic and the acidic base to dish. Drink #5: The fifth drink had a bold and full bodied aroma. With a rich, slightly bitter and smoky taste to it. Dish #5: Our fifth dish was the watermelon, rice and furikake dish: The watermelon was firm, smoky and charred with a dark,rich sauce and a creamy yet light and crunchy rice it was complimented with a salty and savoury furikake topping. The main dishes and drinks were followed up by a sweeter selection, served as follows: Drink #6: The cherry truffle drink had a sweet cherry and vanilla aroma it tasted mild and fruity, it was easy to drink and smooth. Dish #6: The cherry and chocolate dish was made up of a mousse that was mild, fluffy and airy it made a lovely base for the tart cherry sauce and the chocolate underneath it was crunchy, mellow and sweet. Drink #7: The peaches drink had a delicate and subtle flavour that really leads way to the carbonation of the drinks themselves. Dish #7: The pear, amazake, elderflower and ginger dish had an ice cream made a wonderfully mellow base for the crunchy ginger pieces and the wafers sat atop the ice cream melted into your mouth to merge with the dish as a whole. The berries in the sauce added a welcoming tang to the whole dish as it was smooth but crunchy. We were served petit fours also in 3 different flavour varieties; a soft to touch bitter jasmin and mandarin jelly, a crunchy, spicy and cocoa rich gochujang and sea salt brownie and a high quality matcha and blackberry chocolate which had an amazing snap and earthy strong matcha paired with tart and refreshing blackberry. Overall, I'd say land is a multi sensory meal - it's a must visit at least once in your life!

Truly an experience. Excellent dishes full of character. Welcoming and knowledgeable staff. It unquestionably deserves its place in the Michelin Guide. Don’t miss it.

A wonderful sensory experience. Wonderful service and delightful pairings. I would say a few tasters felt slightly repetitive with similar fennel tastes and would have loved something with mushrooms. Also the wine pairings seemed very small amounts for the cost of an extra £50 pp, I’d say half a wine glass would have been great. I’d definitely go again however I’d like for there to be a real difference with every dish.

I bought my mum here for her birthday, along with my sister and husband. We absolutely loved everything about the food. It was beautiful and SO flavourful. We had the 7 course tasting menu (and there was also 3 amuse bouche, a bread and 3 petit fours) and we were left full but not uncomfortably so, and definitely not hungry. The staff are very knowledgeable about the processes that go into the food and drink. They gave my mum a wee birthday card which was lovely. My husband and I recently ate at Gauthier Soho and we enjoyed the food at the atmosphere at Land much more. Highly recommend to vegans and omnis alike!

Outstandingly inventive vegetarian fare with influences from different corners of world cuisine, especially with a 3-course weekday menu that's an absolute steal. The drinks are so well done too, and really warm service with some lovely recommendations!

Had a birthday dinner there while it was taken over by Sael and they didn’t disappoint. Jonathan is so humble and so talented can’t wait to visit his new restaurant later this year!

I was in Birmingham for a few days last week and went to Sabai Sabai twice, once for dinner and once for lunch. I’d highly recommend going for dinner as the menu is more expansive. Definitely book in advance for dinner. The service was efficient and friendly. The seating comfortable. It does get loud, depending on the number of diners. For dinner, I had tempura king prawns followed by salmon curry with Jasmin rice. All dishes were delicious. The prawns were my favourite. As for lunch, I had crispy duck bao buns followed by pad Thai with prawns. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience at Sabai Sabai and I’ll be going again when I’m back in Birmingham.

A solid four star meal. Not authentic or exciting but not a disappointment either. Understand that the dishes have been catered to the local taste buds but surely we can get the right vegetables for the right cuisine in this day and age. Mangetout and baby corn should not be near a Thai dish. The duck roll and papaya salad was the best of the bunch. The service was pleasant and the atmosphere buzzing. Overall we had a good time.

I only recently started exploring Thai food and I’ve completely fallen in love with it. It’s flavourful, hearty and just so yummy. I also love that you don’t need to eat a lot to feel full and satisfied. I decided to visit Sabai Sabai because it’s Thai, so why not? Though I did feel a little like I was cheating on my other favourite Thai spot 🙃 We got there just as the doors were opening and were welcomed with the warmest smile. The restaurant was clean and you could actually smell the bleach and cleaning products coming from the toilet. It might sound odd, but I was really pleased by that. The ambience is chic and cozy. The space is a bit small and the tables are fairly close together, but it still felt comfortable. Here’s what we ordered: 🥘 Green curry with shrimp and sticky rice 🍽️ Sea bass with garlic fried rice ☕ Latte 🍹 Singapore Sling I enjoyed every bite and I’m already looking forward to going back to try more from the menu. Thai food has won me over completely!

My friend & I came yesterday evening & we had a delicious meal, has to be one of the best Thai restaurants I have been to. Staff were very friendly & attentive, will be returning.

We went for lunch, and since the restaurant was quiet with only a couple of other guests, I really enjoyed it. The food was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. The staff were polite and attentive, making our celebration feel extra special. Highly recommend! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

First time visiting the Solihull branch for lunch and it was stunning! The decor was beautiful. Very clean and great staff. Service was excellent. The food was great standard full of flavour. We ordered the set menu for 2 which included great starters including sweetcorn fritters, money bags and chicken skewers. Everything was delicious. For our mains we had a few options - pad Thai, chicken Thai curry and garlic and pepper prawns which came with unlimited jasmine rice. All items had amazing flavour. Really good for the price! We’ll deffo be going back.

It was the best Thai I’ve ever had in my life. I tried quite many Thai food as it’s one of my favorite cuisine but it’s actually quite hard to find the right Pad Thai. Noodle was just cooked right and sauce was just perfect. Also the rest dishes are cooked properly as well. Chicken and squid were as juicy as it was just cooked. Even batter was delicious. We loved papaya salad as well. Every dish was absolutely amazing and phenomenal. I never expected to have the best Thai in Birmingham and if I have to visit Birmingham again, there’s no doubt this place will be the first one to go.

Went in today to order a salad however once I paid they realised they didn't have the ingredients. They asked what else I'd like so chose a soup and half a sandwich and was not disappointed - it was absolutely delicious. They didn't charge me extra for the change, and the service was lovely. Thank you!

Great deli with a good variety of specialist goodies. We came here to pick up Spanish cheese, Iberico and Serrano ham, as we're not permitted to bring it from Spain now. Friendly service, I spent a fortune, but have no way of knowing whether it's more expensive than other places, as it's all about availability for the moment. Some of the other fine foods and wine/whisky stores in the arcade make it a fabulous place to shop for that special occasion.

A good charcuterie should be comfortable. Anderson & Hill, like Lichfield’s Cheese Cavern maximises the floor and ceiling space. Filling it with a raft of delights to nibble, snack and gorge on. At the checkout there is a beautiful display of meats, cheeses and antipasto. Being a lover of cheese, the accommodating patron assisted me in choosing my cheese. The cheese was thoughtfully packaged and cut to my preferred size. A Relaxed and enjoyable experience.

I've heard of this place and I have only recently had the chance to go here regularly. These are hands down the best sandwiches in city centre and they're priced very well for city centre prior warning though this place sells out and once they're done they're done. I'll keep on visiting; but they have to start doing coffee here then I'll have no excuse to use another shop!

I've never really been to such a 'select' location as this. My girl took me there. It reminded initially, due to the decor, of an upper class general store from the early Victorian era and as such I felt entirely out of my comfort zone. I was very wrong. It's a great deli with an excellent assortment of food and fine produce from all over the world. I had my girl with her exquisite taste to guide me; but it was relieving to know that the cashier was knowledgeable and more importantly approachable.

They have a good selection but the staff aren’t familiar with any of their products. It’s really disappointing to see because they have products that usually cannot be found elsewhere but when it is like this it makes us not want to go anymore. We asked for 100 grams of guancale and were given 300 grams and told it was 30 grams… Then we also wanted some pecorino romano cheese and they were not familiar with it, and gave and charged us for something entirely different?

Want great tasting food, no fuss and brilliant service… then this second to none cafe is unmissable!! It would be a mistake to stay in your hotel and not venture out to this flavoursome location!! The service is rapid! Food is served hot!! But the coffee… wow!! The regular flat white is a full cup of coffee… and better tasting than your chain coffee houses!!

I'd give 6 stars if possible. I was seated quickly, served without fuss, my food exceeded expectations and was reasonably priced. Great coffee as well. There's no reason to go to a chain breakfast place in Birmingham over this place, in my opinion. Support independents!

Really enjoyed this cosy little cafe. Right behind the station which is so handy and convenient. It was also conveniently located beside the metro station. There was a queue on the Saturday morning, so beware but the queue moves quickly. Staff are extremely friendly and accommodating and are more particularly friendly to wheelchair users. Would highly recommend this cafe for the staff alone!

Straight after getting off the train at Birmingham New Street yesterday, I popped into Grand Central Kitchen for some breakfast. Gotta say, I’d never had eggs and cheese like that before – absolutely delicious! The staff were so friendly too. Special shout-out to the Iranian girl who was lovely, and the bloke (can’t remember his name!) who recommended some spots for me to check out in Digbeth. Loads of cool places to explore, so thank you both for the tips! To be honest, I was a bit knackered when I came in and probably could’ve done with a nap right there and then. If I hadn’t been so tired, I’d have been even more buzzing about it all, haha. Anyway, cracking little spot – I’ll definitely swing by again next time I’m in Birmingham. Matee, I'm minging. Very nice place to have a breakfast and brunch, warm atmosphere and friendly staffs. The food is also delicous.

Grand Central Kitchen in Birmingham was a bit of a mixed bag, landing squarely at a 3 out of 5 experience for us. It’s a fantastic location, right in the heart of the city with all the buzz of the station, making it a perfect spot for a pre-train coffee or a casual bite. The interior has a great, modern vibe that feels both stylish and welcoming. We were really impressed with the coffee, which was absolutely top-notch—rich, flavourful, and clearly made with care and quality beans. It’s the kind of drink that would easily draw you back on its own merit. The food menu is appealing and our choices were tasty and well-presented when they finally arrived. However, the service was unfortunately where things stumbled. While the staff were perfectly pleasant and apologetic, the wait for both our order to be taken and for our coffee to arrive was significantly longer than it should have been. The restaurant wasn’t at full capacity, which made the delays all the more noticeable. It didn’t ruin our visit, but it did take the shine off what should have been a quick and efficient stop. Ultimately, Grand Central Kitchen has a lot of potential. The core product is excellent, but they need to find a way to streamline their operational flow. We’d pop in again for that excellent coffee, but only if we weren’t in a particular hurry.

We tried the English breakfast (served until late in the afternoon) and it was really tasty and copious. Affordable too, I recommend it.

I’ve visited Mowgli in various cities and always enjoyed the vibrant energy and personal touch that usually comes with the experience. This particular visit, however, felt a little flat by comparison. The food, as expected, was great—full of bold flavours and well-executed, especially the Chaat Bombs, which remain a favourite. The dishes were explained well by the person who brought them over, and her warm manner was appreciated. Unfortunately, the service leading up to that point didn’t quite hit the mark. I waited nearly 10 minutes before even being acknowledged, and the initial greeting was very general—no real welcome, no check on whether I’d visited before, or any recommendations, which is something I’ve appreciated at other branches. While I waited, two staff members were largely preoccupied with chatting by the till and didn’t appear attentive to guests. The only one making a noticeable effort to check in with diners was a gentleman I believe was the manager—kudos to him for being present and approachable. Ordering dessert and settling the bill also took longer than expected, and mentioning the Mowgli loyalty code felt like an inconvenience to the server, rather than something welcomed or easily handled. Perhaps solo diners don’t receive the same attention, which is a shame, because the food really does deserve better surroundings and service to match. Still a fan of the brand, but I’d hope this location steps up to the standard set by others

Came for mine and my boyfriend’s anniversary, the food was incredible. So much flavour I was amazed by the quality considering how fairly priced this place is! My server was Warda, she was absolutely amazing. Provided very friendly service and made us feel right at home. She was very kind and her service was very fast, she catered to both of our needs ensuring we had the best customer experience possible. Her recommendations of the menu were amazing and she recommended the best dishes. I would rate this place 10/10. We will definitely be coming back here!

Dining vibe is excellent, with soft lighting and the food was tasty. My four star for food was due to the temperature rather than the presentation. The staff were polite, but left us for over 30/40 minutes after our food was eaten. We asked three times to pay, which is a big bear for me. So much done well to fall at the last hurdle.

I had the Holy Chow and it was delicious and a really generous portion, reasonably priced. I also had the gulab jamun and was so good! Warda was very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was lovely, with nice lighting, and unique seating like the swing chairs and nice booths.

Bea was a fabulous waitress. Endlessly patient even though she was rushed off her feet! The portions are tiny but very filling. Good selection of vegan options (but would like more dessert choices). The Chai Rum Sling(?) cocktail was 10/10.

This is our favourite restaurant in Birmingham. Adults and kids love it (especially if we get to sit in the swing seats). Food is delicious, mother’s butter chicken is a particular favourite. The appearance when you are inside is lovely too.

The food was great although a bit small portioned. The service (Ms. Warda) was very quick and polite. The Ambiente was the actual reason that drew us in, very cute place !

Excellent desi pub within walking distance of Birmingham New St. We were passing through and had a couple of hours so went to the Hen and Chickens and really pleased we did - provides the great combination of real ale, curry and football on Sky! Food and service excellent, definitely recommend the mixed grill (small more than enough for 2 people). Will visit again when in Birmingham.

1st time visit after a long time and no regrets. Friendly and helpful service, the pub/restaurant was clean and very well presented. Food tasted fresh and of good quality, will definitely be coming back to try and update accordingly.

The Hen & Chickens is a popular established tradition pub with a modern twist. It has a very well deserved popular reputation of serving a good selection of quality India food. The venue and atmosphere is very pleasant. Located very close to the city centre the prices are higher than simular tyres of venue outside the area. IMO definitely a must visit if you are in Birmingham City. Enjoy 😊

All that you want from a Desi pub. Felt like a local. Good pint of real ale plus a great mixed grill and curry sauces. More formal space for larger groups.

The food here was incredible and the atmosphere is relaxed. Highly recommend the mixed grill signature dish but everything else that we got was also amazing. The burger was something special. The patty was properly grilled but still juicy. The hot sauce was mildly spicy (good if you have weak tolerance) and tasted a bit bitter at first but developed a fruity flavor later. The fries had coleslaw on top and tasted as you would expect.

Great find, we were after somewhere to eat before going to a festival. OPM turned out to be a great choice. Good selection of burgers and some other options, a few beers to choose from. You can also get beer from the bar next door too.

Slightly off the beaten track location but well worth the visit. Staff and service was friendly and helpful, the American staff member is probably the most hospitable person in Birmingham! Margaritas are a MUST try 9.9/10 Food was 9.5/10 and we had the beef burger, tofu burger and loaded fries plus slaw. Slaw wasn’t the best we’ve had but everything else was delicious! First tofu burger that was super crispy on the outside, soft on the inside and not dry!!! Nice selection of soft drinks as well plus a specials board worth looking at (planning to come back for the cauliflower wings) Definitely worth the trek 🤤

I consider myself as a regular at OPM but when I visited it at 11.06.2025 around 7pm, I think I won’t be anymore. I sat outside because the weather was quite lovely. Tables were a mess, all dirt and leftovers. Nobody came to take our orders nor clean the table for 15 minutes. When I walked inside, waitress in the bar took my order, said that I should pay in advance because I’m outside and didn’t even bother to come and clean up. Patty was really dry and chewy and their special crunchy wings were just sloppy. All around terrible.

Friendly and welcoming staff, delicious burgers (and chicken), fries were good too. Thoroughly recommend if you're in the mood for some unhealthy but delicious food.

I’ve been here before several years ago and definitely remember it being better. That, or because so many independent & chain American smash burger places have opened, that I’m comparing to them. The market is now saturated for this type of food and unfortunately OPM does not cut it. The burgers are dense overcooked patties, and didn’t even seem to be decent quality beef. The menu was small, I think 3 or 4 beef burgers (for a place that’s got patty in the name), other than fries there were only 2 side options and one of them was coleslaw. Mediocre food quality and taste, and a fairly long wait.

You must try the Indian brewery snow hill, if visiting Birmingham. I highly recommend this place. The food is exceptional, and we were blown away by the quality and freshness of food, flavours, and the way everything was cooked. The mixed grill was the best with their butter sauce chips. Utterly amazing and super tasty. I can’t recommend it enough. Fantastic.

Okay, let's talk about the amazing experience I had! The atmosphere was just perfect for a relaxed evening out, and the food was absolutely delicious. There was Radha who really enhanced the entire evening, they were very attentive and always made sure everything was perfect. The entire service was seamless. Overall, it was an incredibly memorable experience.

Really like it here. The food tastes great and staff always provide food service. 4 stars because though they have a couple of vegans options, if they had more options then I'd go more often as I don't want to order the same things each time. The cocktails are made well and I'd recommend them!

Really enjoyed the food and beer. Staff were really friendly. I seated myself and ordered at the bar but left a little confused as to whether there was table service. My humble advice would be to make it clearer if it is bar ordering or table service as this might frustrate some. I enjoyed my experience though, thank you.

Excellent brewery and Indian restaurant. Had to wait a bit (understandably - I had no booking and it was a Friday evening), but staff were really accommodating and attentive. And it is such an eclectic place with a great vibe, I didn't get bored as a solo traveller just enjoying a nice pint in the meantime. Once I ordered, food got to my table super quick, and it was delicious. Certainly will be in my bucket list for my next trip to Birmingham!

What a great food and drink experience. Really friendly attentive service. We had the fat naans which were huge and delicious. Washed down by two really great craft ales. Cool atmosphere and a well curated music playlist which is heavily Indian influenced but definitely not the usual in my experience. I’d love to visit again.

First time at this place. I was impressed. The decor along with the food and plating all came together superbly. Good attention to detail. Amritsari Fish was the star of the show. Butter chicken was not great but I’ve had worse. Overall great experience, well done to the owners and the staff for making this a great place to visit when I’m in Birmingham.

Absolutely loved our experience at Zindiya in Moseley! The moment we stepped in, it brought back memories of Delhi — the ambiance, the aroma, everything felt so authentic and vibrant. We tried a variety of dishes, from the gunpowder aloo chaat to chole bhature, and each one was a standout in its own right — full of flavour, beautifully presented, and cooked to perfection. A special shoutout to the samosa filled with gajar halwa for dessert — such a creative and delicious twist that ended our meal on a high note! A big thank you to Shivam and Divyansha, who served us with such warmth and humility. Their friendly nature and attentive service truly made our visit memorable. I visited Zindiya for dinner as I was in Birmingham for one night and they are a top 5 Indian restaurant on Time Out. I was warmly welcomed and Lavlesh gave fantastic service helping me navigate the menu and just being all round lovely. The food was amazing; full of flavour and a brilliant selection of street food. They also had a fantastic selection of drinks with craft beer on tap. The place itself has a cool atmosphere. It was quiet when I visited but it was a Sunday night. I suspect if you come on a Friday or Saturday night it will be very lively. Whilst I ate there was a very steady flow of take out orders which says a lot. All in all a fantastic restaurant. I would highly recommend and visit again. Incredibly good value too.

The atmosphere at Damascena is truly amazing — such a pleasant and welcoming vibe. Special thanks to Bardia, who is extremely helpful and supportive, always guiding with food choices — I can’t say enough about how great the service is. The food is delicious and very diverse; I’ve tried different wraps, sandwiches, and shawarmas, and really enjoyed them all. Sometimes the dishes are a bit too spicy for my taste, but overall the variety and quality are excellent. The place itself is lovely, the only downside is that the parking space is quite limited.

Beautiful locals in the center of town. You maybe lucky to find parking locally, but there's motorcycling parking right next to it. We were seated quickly with and the atmosphere is lovely inside and out. On good days there is seating outside. There's lots of drinks and food options which was a nice surprise. The menu has a fair number of vegetarian options available. Food arrived quickly and was nicer than I expected. It's a nice place to come to sadly the staff really need a moral boost. I understand it can get busy but a friendly demeanor would make the place that much more welcoming. All in all I'd be looking to pop by again. ENJOY.

As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by the warm smells of their chai spices. We were looking for a late night hot drink and Damascena was the perfect place for a karak chai. Whilst enjoying our delicious hot drinks, we had a look at their food menu and knew we had to come back. The next morning, we feasted on their manakeesh and fuul that reminded us of our warm homes. Compliments to chef and the very kind staff. We will definitely return to our local, far-away coffee house on our next visit to Birmingham.

What a unique place to have dinner! Spiced Chai Latte was absolutely amazing, salad was fresh, tahini kofta and pickled veggies were very flavourful. I also tried three different pastries, all of them were very lovely. As coming from the country where there are no Middle Eastern restaurants, I’ve really enjoyed the experience and will definitely come back once I’m in the UK.

Cosy and friendly. Staff banter was 10/10, main menu had good selection and really tasty. Ginger, lemon and honey tea would recommend. Baklava was not to our personal taste but enjoyable still (my friend prefers it sweeter).

I don’t know usually leave reviews but this place was phenomenal. From the Food to the Hospitality, everything was perfect. I came during lunch hour so it was quite busy, but was seated quite rapidly, the waiters were working efficiently and calmly despite lunch rush. I allowed the Waiter (Umar) to give me a recommendation of the house special, and it was one of the greatest meals I’ve had in a while. The cost was appropriate for the location and atmosphere. Umar did an amazing job taking care of us despite the restaurant being busy, he was highly respectful and attentive towards us and is clearly a phenomenal worker. Will be visiting soon again.

The Service was fantastic for a Saturday evening without booking to seat 7 of us at short notice, and the quality of the food was fantastic halloumi fries 10/10 multiple flavours of shakes all deliciously indulgent. Popped in for a quick bite as we were staying at the Holiday Inn for a night and this restaurant was a brief 5 minutes walk away. We booked for 5pm and there were 3 of us. Two of us had pizzas and one had nachos. We shared garlic bread a portion of tater tots. Service was swift and server was friendly, we were seated at a long table with benches, only downside was the noise from the tables either side, totally just a me issue though. Food was really good, fresh, hot and huge portions. Cost was reasonable £14 for the pizzas and £12 for nachos. All in all I would recommend a visit.

Had a salad. I know, really let the side down on this one. But my friend said her pizza was delicious! (Actually she said one of the best she's had in Birmingham, but I can't verify because... salad). But I'll tell you what, if you like garlic bread, THIS garlic bread is unreal. We need it mass producing please.

One of the best pizza we've ever had. Watched it down with a couple if Stable IPA. Very refreshing and crispy. Staff, I couldn't fault, all were very friendly and made us feel welcome. Even thanked us for coming when we left. Would definitely visit again.

The pizza is tasty, thin and crispy if that's your vibe, and there's a good range of toppings options. The service was a bit chaotic as it was very busy in there! Because you have to order via QR code the food arrives at different times, and because you've paid in advance there's no time to sit and relax after you've finished your meal. Sadly I didn't get the dip I ordered, and wasn't able to ask a waiter about this because they were so rushed off their feet! A shame because if this meal was a little slower and quieter, and if there was a bit more human interaction, I'm sure I would have loved it!

Pizza was incredible. The vegan option was great for my friend. Highly recommend keeping it simple and enjoying the dough/crust. The cider sampler was fun! Great spot for our visit to the city.

I walked in here just a couple of minutes before boarding a train from Birmingham new street and was very much In the mood for pizzas. I was a little worried about how long it might take and they didn’t disappoint. I got the BFC which tasted amazing alongside a lovely drink made by Becky . The thin crust pizzas are just gorgeous and your should definitely try!

Lovely experience and food. Will visit again. Don't be intimidated by the plate presentation, the servers are friendly and not stuck up. You can definitely feel satisfied after an appetizer and main. I feel like the meat could've been seasoned a bit more but that's my only criticism (it's quite bland without any sauces).

We had an absolutely wonderful Sunday lunch here yesterday. The service from Erika was charming, informative and attentive. The restaurant is very well designed. We had delicious cocktails to start and then two courses of truly delicious food. Highly recommended, I would most certainly go back.

We went for the tasting menu as it was a special occasion. Food was full of interesting flavours, utterly delicious, and beautifully presented. I had made a mistake on the booking and it could all have gone horribly wrong but the staff sorted it brilliantly with kindness and grace. Compliments and thanks to all the staff - was a wonderful experience and well worth the long journey to get there.

I ordered the hake, and it was nothing short of extraordinary – perfectly cooked, melt-in-your-mouth texture, with bold, vibrant flavours that somehow managed to be both refined and deeply comforting. Every bite felt like a masterclass in balance and freshness. To drink, I had a watermelon-based cocktail that was just as impressive. It was light, refreshing, and beautifully paired with the food – the kind of drink that makes you stop mid-sip just to appreciate how clever it is. The service was warm, attentive, and knowledgeable, and the atmosphere strikes a perfect balance between relaxed and refined. Chakana doesn’t just serve food – it gives you an experience. If you’re even remotely curious about Peruvian cuisine, this place is a must. 🫶🏽

Fantastic restaurant where I always love to come back for a special meal. Me and my husband were celebrating a wedding anniversary so we came for dinner on a Thursday evening. The service was great and attentive and food came relatively quickly. We ordered a pisco and a cocktail and they were both superb. Then we had a delicious complimentary bread with a dip and starters - seabream ceviche, tuna nikkei and salmon ceviche. All of them were excellent but I would say the salmon was the best (my husband said that for him it was the classic seabream). We then had suckling pig and hot red mullet ceviche. Again, both were superb, very interesting and creative flavour combinations and beautiful plating. For dessert we had picarones (doughnuts with ice cream) and they were a perfect sweet ending of a special meal. We even got complimentary anniversary plate with ice cream! :)

We had the pleasure of dining at Chakana and trying their tasting menus my wife had the full menu, while I had a pescatarian version. Both were absolutely incredible! The creativity and flavour in every dish blew us away. My personal highlights were the Hot Crab Causa (so rich and full of depth), the Red Mullet in Hot Ceviche (the fish was soft, sweet, and the sauce was just 🤯), the Purple Corn Sandwichito (my first ever squid “burger” and amazing!), and the Hake Amazonia with yuca stew, kiwicha grain, chocolate, and seaweed so unique and beautifully balanced. My wife loved the Roasted Suckling Pig Pekinés, which she highly recommends, as well as the Hot Crab Causa and the Warm Beef Tiradito. To finish, the Cherimoya Mousse with dulce de leche and miso paired with freshly made mini doughnuts was the perfect ending light, playful, and full of flavour. The presentation of every plate was stunning, and the service was spot on our waitress was incredibly knowledgeable and made the experience feel very special. Chakana might be Michelin-recommended, but honestly, it deserves every bit of praise the food, flavours, and creativity are on another level. Highly recommended!

It was decent, but the Beetroot Salad stole the spotlight! The salad came with whipped yogurt and a sprinkle of breadcrumbs. The white beetroots, naturally sweeter, added an unexpected and delightful twist to the dish—absolutely delicious! 🍽 Whole Dover Sole (on the bone) Our main course was visually stunning, served with loads of capers and brown shrimp. Despite the generous amount of brown butter, the capers perfectly balanced the flavours, so it didn’t feel too heavy. 🍽 Lamb Rump I ordered the lamb rump cooked to medium, but unfortunately, it arrived fully cooked. 😔 Since I hate wasting food, I decided to enjoy it as it was rather than requesting a replacement.

Wow wow wow. What an amazing gem right in the heart of Birmingham. Do not miss the smoked row, the hand dived scallops, and the English oysters. All absolutely divine. The cocktails are very interesting and unique too. Service was so friendly, and I felt like a regular. Would be back every week if I lived in Birmingham! Highly recommend this delicious place!

This experience is not worthy for £144 two girls Food is great but the waiting time is too long. We ordered at 7:45, raw oysters came around 8 but main dishes came at 9:08. The waiter forgot my friend’s steak sauce.

First time with yourselves and I have to say it was really disappointing. The bill £353 just didn’t feel like a meal worthy of it. The one girl serving was brilliant but a long delay for food , atmosphere was dreadful and to be told long delays because a rowdy group came in and order 60 oysters. First and last time , wouldn’t recommend at all sadly.

Food is exquisite. A bit on the steeper price point but worth every single penny. You get quality ingredients - super fresh seafood, creamy oysters, food cooked and seasoned beautifully. Its quite the experience! I had one of the best Sunday roast here as well. Might I add that you can find some really wonderful desserts - everything leaves me wanting for more. Already been here twice, would highly recommend it. Service crew is really lovely. No complaints!

Food was good, but service not the best. We didn’t feel that they were happy to see us, they didn’t smile at us, and the waiter’s face was sad. Also waiter didn’t know the difference between three types of caviar, which is very strange. It was my birthday and I left note during booking so I was expecting to see «happy birthday inscription on the plate», but nothing happened. Would I recommend this place to anyone? I am not sure.

Beautiful meal, fantastic ingredients and amazing service. Always love this place for a special occasion. We also highly recommend their cocktails - the bar man is the best and every time we ask for something off the menu, he’s able to make them and they always taste great.

Visited the event at Warwick Castle. Great event with a wide variety of food and drink stands. However limited choice if you have an allergy especially a gluten allergy. You do have to pay for your ticket and then the food when you are there including drinks, which does make it an expensive evening out.

Visited DDC at the waterfront on Friday evening. Lots to choose from and a good atmosphere. We decided on: Deathrow sandwich 1 beef sandwich 1 spicy chicken sandwich Both with fries. Yardbirds Yardbird burger with fries Disco fries Tikka Turner fries Flat donut Cinnamon dusted We also had a few beers at Booze. All the food was great but loses a star as I do think its overpriced for what you get. That wouldn't stop me returning to future events though as I do like the variety of vendors and overall atmosphere of DDC.

Fantastic street food setup! A great way to discover new cuisines and try different street food establishments. I love that it promotes a variety of cuisines and always gets such a great turnout. Definitely the best place to go for street food in the Midlands. I attended the one held at Coventry cathedral ruins, which had a great array of vendors, a DJ and a lovely cathedral back drop. Had some amazing street food from Cleopatra's Kitchen Solihull (best middle Eastern food I've eaten) and beef on the block (beautifully cooked tender melt in the mouth steak).

DDC at Warwick Castle, 12th September 2025. First time attending. Ok-ish selection of food vendors and went there with an appetite and an equal high expectation. However, what realy, really let it down was simply not enough places to sit. That, I feel is a cynical way for the organisers to 'keep people moving'. The seating that was available and unoccupied had been ruthlessly colonised in the same way people put towels on deck chairs. I don't mind paying a lot of money for good, plentiful, tasty food - of which I am sure there was available last night - but faced with paying £14 for a Biryani and having to stand up and eat it...........nah, sorry. Not happening. So, I finished the single £6.50 pint of lager I purchased and went back into town to sit down and eat there. Won't be attending this one again. Total outlay including admission = £14.50. Total time on site = 37 mins. Waste of money really.

Well organised. Parking is paid but plentiful. Park was constantly being monitored to clear up litter. Great choice of food & drink. Some long queues (especially for the toilets!!). Great for kids & taking your well behaved dogs. Weather was fab which always helps

Really cool experience, £2 entry fee and 3 bars with different themes/music. The food trucks/stalls change all the time and they list the changes online. You don't need cash, most of the stalls take card. Really enjoyed ourselves will definitely visit next time we're in Birmingham again.

Had a fantastic afternoon here. My toddler merrily dances away to the music, the atmosphere was incredible. We ate nearly everywhere between us and shared it all, this was our list of vendors in favourite order: 1. Urban Cheesecake - terrys chocolate orange with brownie bits. Quite literally out of this world. 2. Only Jerkin - jerk chicken and fries 3. Jade Rabbit - chicken in a cone (just wow) 4. Disco Fries - pizza one is really good 5. Whatever the pizza one was there. 6. Patty Freakz - unfortunately did disappoint the patty was burnt.

In the city centre setting you can enjoy true authentic Italian style Pizza freshly made. Opted for Apolo or something along those lines it was called pizza had blend of veg/chicken with fat chips. Good tasted amazing isn’t the first time I been here, definitely place I’d recommend when in city centre setting- Sold 10/10 🌟

This is my favourite spot whenever I start missing Italy, I’ve been coming here for years and the food never disappoints from their delicious pizzas to their tasty kebabs, there’s something for everyone. What makes this place stand out is their authentic halal tiramisu, which is so rare to find, and absolutely amazing. They also serve fresh, healthy juices that are just as good as the food. I had the half chicken and rice which was very nice. The salad wasn’t the best and also the lentil soup was not offered to me until the end, however it was nice when it did come. Service in general was good and I would like to come back and try the pizza

Every time I come to have lunch or dinner with my daughter or alone, I always find that the seating area clean. The atmosphere is very welcoming, and staffs show promptness in taking orders and serving food, maintaining cleanliness, and addressing customer needs and concerns with professionalism and courtesy.

This is definitely now one of my favourite restaurants. The pizza made with their wood over has such a unique taste that it just takes over my taste buds. Their menu is specialised and although it doesn't have 10 000 things, the items they have there, they get the absolutely correct every time. Their music selection is great and gives the restaurant such a pleasant atmosphere. There is so much sitting space. Special mention to Mahmoud and one of the young black ladies who wears glasses that served me, forgot to ask for her name. Such a positive atmosphere. I will be back countless times

It’s just so good! Sets the standard for excellent pizzas, lovely people and good drinks. It’s a cut above the chain sourdough pizza places and I love the relaxed vibe. Have probably been 5 times all in all and never been disappointed. A mix of groups, couples, families all catered for really well. Oh also a great selection of vegetarian options that are the norm rather than an afterthought. Really highly recommended. The pizza oven is very big and a nice feature too!

I ordered a pulled pork burrito from Habaneros today, and the experience was incredibly disappointing. The cheese had an off taste, which completely ruined the meal. Several colleagues who also ordered agreed that something was not right. For a place that is always busy for lunch, this was unacceptable. Quality control needs serious improvement—I won’t be returning anytime soon.

Ben and Carl brought the Haberno’s street van to serve fantastic burritos for our wedding anniversary party last month. All the guests said how fabulous the food was. Fresh, tasty, generous portions, with great choice of sauces and extras. They made it all happen, great service, plus a very reasonable way to feed 120 people a delicious meal! So glad we booked them. We highly recommend!

Extremely popular venue with a busy lunch rush most days. Decent value for money, not massive burrito but definetly decent sized. Felt like it’s a bit overrated though, the meat was not that flavourful and spicy sauces lacking a decent kick. Was decent but not worth the hype. Mostly takeaway only. Will note service is extremely quick which is good, but wonder if it is affecting quality.

Our office come here a few times a week food is always great, Our hump day go to! korean pulled pork 🤌🏿 There is a queue but don't let that put you off-its fast and the food IS worth it!! Unfortunately this week (Wed) it comes down to a staff/service issue when it gets to the final part of getting the food the sauce and packing bit, the chap is rude & impolite ,which we have come to expect but this week it was next level (in comparison to the other staff who were great!) Plus burrito was very poorly wrapped so most of our office have switched to the rice box and homemade nachos which are definitely worth a try! Other than that its efficient & delicious , highly recommended

Visited last Wednesday with office colleagues and Lets start with I’m a first time customer, so the menu is new to me and it looks fab! A lot to choose from which is nice ,had a lovely lady serve me to take my order and while I was deciding she was interrupted and spoken over by her colleague as I wasn’t making my choice quick enough! It made the whole experience very overwhelming and I was embarrassed to witness on her behalf as it then continued while she served the following customers . BUT once past the initial part (where they put in the hot fillings)the tension reduced as the servers at this station were calm and friendly ! I had a great choice in salad ,all very fresh and lots of sauce options. In general the food (I went for a burrito) was fab , I would personally myself try and go at a quieter time as so I wouldn’t feel like an inconvenience .

Great little spot in the city center, been a frequent visitor since the van . chicken tinger seems to have changed of a recent-rubbery- hopefully a short term thing, there’s been a bout of new staff over the last few weeks which has been a pleasant change very friendly ,helpful and make a great burrito! Recommend the homemade nachos and the roasted veg

I love this place. It's really well located within the Great Western Arcade near Colmore Row. My go-to here is the burrito bowl. All the flavour and taste of burrito minus the wrap. I highly recommend getting the beef, it melts in your mouth. My photo just doesn't do it justice!! Service is great, they're friendly and fast.

I’m sad to report that this was a distinctly underwhelming experience. My daughter and I decided to pop in for an afternoon drink and a pastry. We normally go to EL&N, however their recent food hygiene rating has put us off, so we thought we’d try somewhere new. Firstly, the general ambience is rather grubby and downmarket: the tables were tacky, the singular a toilet an afterthought and everywhere looked like it needed a good scrub. We had to wait for a table (no problem), however it was almost impossible to catch anyone’s eye, so the whole process was unclear. When we were seated, we were given some rather tired and shabby menus which immediately adhered themselves to the surface of the table. Not to be deterred, we made our choice from the limited selection of pastries and cakes available. I chose the passionfruit cruffin which had seen better days and was still dripping in cooking fat. It was far from the light and delicate laminated pastries that I have tried at artisan bakeries and I felt rather let down. We noticed that the general atmosphere was unfriendly, I suspect that this was partly due to the staff’s fantastic ability to avoid eye contact at all times. Even my daughter noted that she had not seen a single member of waiting staff actually smile during the entirety of our visit. Needless to say, we won’t be returning.

TLDR: I’d only recommend this place if you’re getting a pastry from the front. Long wait times (45+ mins) + no cooling system = not a great place to dine in. Came here twice and had very different experiences. When a friend and I grabbed a pastry from the front, we were served and seated right away, even moving to a booth when requested. The atmosphere was great and the interior is very aesthetic and appealing for social media. No complaints here. When I came alone a few months later to order brunch, I had a 2/5 experience. First, it took around 5-10 minutes to be seated with no acknowledgment of the long wait time, even with several moments of eye contact with staff who didn’t seem very rushed, though this can be overlooked. Second, I waited over 45 minutes for my food (not a guess or overestimate) without acknowledgment of any sort. There was a period of around 15 minutes where nothing came out of the kitchen (I had a direct view of where the food exited). During this wait time, it was increasingly apparent how uncomfortable the space was. There was no AC and the building has no windows to open. The only cooling system was a single fan, and with the many skylights, the restaurant felt like a greenhouse. Literally outside the restaurant was cooler than inside and that’s not an exaggeration. The food itself was alright. I ordered the harissa benedict and the only qualm I have with it was that the eggs were almost hard boiled and not runny at all. There was a lot of chorizo on it and the mushrooms were great, however I don’t think I’d pay £14 for it again.

A lovely brunch, but nothing special. We ordered the granola bowl, some toast and some bakes to take home. The sourdough was lovely (although the jam alongside is just a jar, not homemade), and the bowls were okay, albeit quite lacking on the fruit. The bakes we took home were really disappointing. The biscoff cruffin had no biscoff 😅 and the chocolate chip cookie was completely tasteless. The setting itself was lovely, a great spot to meet for a coffee.

I love medicine bakery so I was chuffed to find it open on new street just a walk away from the office! Lunch was delicious! I was excited to have my usual fried chicken but they ran out!!??? Shockkkkk! But hey I got to try something new and went for Turkish eggs! Delicious and very healthy. Lovely space and atmosphere! There are individual tables and sharing tables so make a note of what you want on your booking if you’re fussy!

First time here for breakfast . Very smart place in the mailbox Birmingham. Menu good with lots of lovely choices. My choice-sausage brioche with a side of hash brown. Been a few times and usually really enjoy, bit of a shame the food wasn't as good today. I had the vegan brunch with an added poached egg which was more water than egg. My partner had the regular brunch, both of our hash browns felt a bit undercooked. But drinks were lovely and we've been before for pastries which were delicious!

Took my daughter here as she loves all things Japanese. She really wanted to try their bao buns and me the Gyozas.. we were not disappointed. My daughter had the chicken option, and I had the vegetable option. We also ordered a portion of salmon and avocado sushi that was made fresh for us. All the food was served beautiful, was fresh and so tasty. The staff was super, very informative, friendly, and helpful. The atmosphere was very relaxed and informal. Perfect for a lunchtime drop it. Deco was a mix of fun neon lights and being elegant, with beautiful lanterns. It was our first time, but I can definitely see us returning here for a second visit.

We came here for my elder brother’s birthday, without a booking, and were promptly sat. Couldn’t have asked for better service! We visited Yakinori and absolutely loved it! The atmosphere is cozy, the interior stylish, and the food was simply outstanding. Every dish was delicious and beautifully presented. I really enjoyed hearing Ash talk about where the ingredients were sourced, it added to the experience. Tucked away unassumingly on Stirchley high street is one of, if not the, most talked about restaurants in Brum currently. From being mentioned in the Michelin Guide of Best Restaurants in Birmingham, to a buzz across social media; there’s a deserved hype. I have such a great time visiting here that I can’t wait to book my next visit. True that it’s easier to herd cats than to book a table here, but it’s worth being patient. Tables are released on a rolling three month basis each day, at midnight. With a cosy kitchen vibe, you sit at the counter and watch each dish unfold as it’s carefully crafted and presented in front of you, while the chef, Ash, talks you through how and why it’s on the menu. This close up and personal insight combined with watching the other guests enjoy their dishes is hard to match. You can easily get talking to the people either side of you, with them often remarking how they can’t wait to book their next visit. The menu pretty much changes daily so I won’t describe what I had, I’ll let my photos do that; but I can confidently say I struggled to make my choices because it all sounded so good.

Overall the food was wonderful and flavours were amazing. Everything was generous in portion size and prices were reasonable. Everything was cooked to perfection.Loved the touch of the fresh warm Madeleines at the end.The fried chicken was the only dish that lacked a bit of a flavour kick but had a great crunch and worked well with the caviar.The bar stool seating for me was very uncomfortable because I suffer from sciatica , no fault of the restaurant. That did dampen my experience a bit with the food. The chef explained the dishes with passion and attention to details on all the ingredients which fueled the excitement. The cider we drank had a rich deep apple flavour. Looking forward to seeing the talented chef get a Michelin star!

Booked this 4 months in advance such is the popularity of this restaurant. It is a little tricky to find as the blinds stay down so it looks like its closed. Upon entering you can see that you are all sat together around the kitchen. The seats which are high bar stools are very uncomfortable and I had to stand up for periods of time. The restaurant was also very hot. The food is nice but not amazing. The menu changes quite often I was told by one of the ladies. You can order as much as you like or as little as you like. I choose to order as much as possible so that I could try various options as re-booking would be very long. There are two ladies one cooks live and the other provides the hospitality in terms of drinks and seating guests. The lady that cooks provides a full story on how she has cooked each dish when bringing it over. There was one particular dish the grilled skate wing (the picture with majority of it green) this is a type of fish I was told, it comes with the bone and the cook tells you how to remove the bone. I did as instructed and still had issues with bones so had to ask the chef to de-bone it herself. She was very helpful and served it back to me with no bones at all (another picture attached). I went with my wife who is vegetarian and a full menu option was provided to her. Homemade fudge is also given when receiving the bill, we were very full and it was packed in a little packet. The fudge was very nice Overall the service is very good and the food is different and nice. There is roadside parking which is free after certain hours or various side streets.

This is a firm favourite of ours. You know what you’re getting and it’s very consistent. The menu is easy to navigate with something for everyone and the cocktails are ace, especially at happy hour. Personally, I’d like more spice and stronger seasoning for my palate, but regardless, I enjoy my meal every time. The staff a lovely and attentive and we’ve never felt ignored or rushed.

Quite disappointing unfortunately. Sat down with my partner and they took 40 minutes to serve us. I would have no problem with this if they were busy but the staff were standing and talking to each other not serving anyone. When we were finally served we were given watered down drinks that cost 10 pounds each. It took more time after that before our food orders were taken. We gave our food order and then 15 minutes later they came back saying it wasn't available. Yes, it took 15 minutes for them to check if they had what we ordered as they stood around talking. When we gave them an updated order with what they actually had in stock the food they gave us was not at all worth the price they charged. Feathers in the chicken and the rice was undercooked. (see photos). 2 watery drinks, one small plate and one regular plate cost 50 pounds. Save yourself time and money.

Mixed feelings here. My husband and I came here for a lunch date on a Saturday. While we both enjoyed ourselves there were some hiccups that I felt could have gone better. All of the staff we interacted with were very nice however it was obvious they were massively understaffed for how busy it was at the time so the attentiveness wasn't there. When I ordered my meal and a tapas I specified I wanted the vegan version each time but it felt like I wasn't understood and I unfortunately turned out to be right when they took back my Elotes to check with the chef and then made me a new vegan one. Again the staff was nice and corrected it immediately. I had the horchata mocktail and while the flavour was quite good it felt ten times way too sweet. After sipping away at some I added water to it and it made it more suitable for my palette. The spicy rice was gorgeous and actually had some heat to it, which as a Mexican American here in England , I was surprised. The Ancho Mushroom Enchilada was just ok for me. It felt like they had overloaded it with salt and no other prominent flavour. Lastly the vegan Elotes were delicious. The cheese, mayo, and spice were lovely and the Elote was soo juicy!

Had lunch here in the run-in to Christmas, and overall it wasn't great. We were seated at a table with standard menus only, and noticed that was being done with other diners too. Fortunately we were aware there's a lunch deal menu and my wife went to get that instead. From the lunch deals, we ordered ourselves burritos, then ordered a Taco meal as a kind of side to share. Very glad I didn't order that as my main meal as it was tiny. I opted for the Pork pibil because I'm not sure if they keep the meats of the haallal menu and the normal menus separate, and I didn't want to mistakenly eat haallal meat. The food was ok, I expected a lot more flavour, but overall not bad or anything. The mocktails were quite nice, the virgin colada was lovely to be fair. My wife suggested we head to the nearby Christmas market for churros for dessert, but I insisted we stay put. She ended up getting the dessert menu herself and we ordered the Churros to share. They came without ice cream, so we had to ask for that again, which we received an apology for and were then given strawberry instead of vanilla as that was all they had left. It did seem the one guy who looked like he was in charge was trying to keep it together, but generally it was a bit of a shambles from his crew. I did witness another diner receiving even worse service, but that's not really my story to tell.

Hard to sum this place up. Service was intially really good but lacked a bit as time went on. Two of the four dishes we ordered weren’t available, alternatives offered which was acceptable. When the food came, one of the four dishes was wrong one, so now we only have one of the originally ordered items. Pointed out the incorrect dish but didn’t get rectified until we had finished our other food. I’d give it another chance based on the tasty food, maybe at a less busy time.

We were in a big group of 20 and they were able to accommodate us without issue, taking the downstairs area just for us which was really nice. The staff were also excellent and were very fast with service. Considering there were so many of us, it was great to see that they had prepared well. The food was mostly good, with some of the portion sizes being larger than I could handle. My picks were the cola wings, chicken mole burrito and the mango strawberry dessert. The cola wings and the mango dessert were my favourites of the night. The only slight downside to the experience was that there was a weird smell to the downstairs. You do adjust to it after a short while, but definitely something to be improved on. But overall a good experience.

Went for brunch on Sunday. It looked good from inside and quite aesthetic. We were excited to be here but disappointed by lack of brunch options. We had a full vegan breakfast but replaced tofu with eggs because they didn’t have a veg breakfast option. Also ordered French toast that came with ice cream and that was quite nice actually. The vegan breakfast had tater tots few of them which our server dropped on the floor next to us while keeping the plates which is alright but she looked at it and then just ignored. I think that she could have atleast apologised or acknowledged. just kept the food on the table and that behaviour was off-putting. Lack of respect for the food and your customer. The service was really slow given that the place was almost empty on Sunday morning. Had to wait more than 15 mins for someone to take our order and also 15-20 mins after we finished the food just sitting waiting for someone to come and get the bill. Coffee was mild and disappointing. The only good thing for us was the French toast and the eggs with avocado. The bread in vegan breakfast was half burnt and too hard. and the mushroom didn’t taste good. Beans were good though. Disappointing experience. So many other options in mailbox for brunch!

Lovely looking restaurant. Friendly welcoming staff and a nice selection on the menu. We ordered the chicken burger - good flavour, well cooked but quite a small portion of fries. My son ordered the bao buns and a side of fried, they were nice, well cooked, quite sweet in flavour. My daughter had the halloumi fries and onion rings which she really enjoyed and I tried the shakshuka for the first time, it was quite nice, pretty spicy and a big portion, I couldn't eat it all. It could have done with more sourdough toast with it though to soak up the tomatoes and the egg. Overall a nice meal and happy Ilto tey something new.

Waited over half an hour for our food. Waiter didn’t bother bringing over table water as requested when ordering. The coffees arrived luke warm. The food arrived cold! Overall poor service, and very slow chefs. Won’t ever go back

I would say first off, the highlight was the service we received from Jess, even when the whole place was full she was attentive and made sure to chase up the bar staff for our drinks regularly. Had an amazing time at bottomless brunch there's a decent variety of cocktails which can be expanded for an added cost. It's best if you have a reservation as this place can get quite full, especially on a Saturday.

Recently visited this pub, prior to a theatre show. Booking is definitely advised with this venue. It was very busy when we arrived and extremely hot inside. It was very noisy, with lots or party groups and hen party, too. The staff were very welcoming, helpful and friendly. We were shown to a table and then asked to move to the one alongside, some 20 minutes later! Our food order arrived within 15 minutes. It was well cooked and presented, tasted delicious, too. Our server was lovely and nothing was too much trouble for her. The building itself was a bank, so the inside was beautiful, as you would expect from an old building. However, the leaves which hand around as decoration were very dusty and definitely due to be replaced/cleaned. Also, the downstairs corridors leading to the wash rooms require attention, along with the toilets themselves. On the whole, yes I would return, staff are wonderful, decoration/toilets in need of help.

A Great Experience at Lost and Found We had a really enjoyable time at Lost and Found. Despite not having a reservation, we were seated promptly (though it was a weekday), which was a great start. The interior is beautifully done—stylish and welcoming. The staff were friendly and attentive throughout our visit. We appreciated the online ordering system, which made things very convenient. The menu had a good range of options, and I went with the fish and chips—absolutely delicious! We also took advantage of the 2-for-1 offer on selected drinks, which was a nice bonus. Overall, a great experience, and we’ll definitely be back.

Staff were lovely and accommodating from start to finish. Very helpful and friendly, the place itself was really nice. Loved the decor, the facilities were lovely. Can’t really fault anything. The only thing I would say was the private bar wasn’t in use not sure if this was due to staffing as it was a Sunday but we had to go out the private room to the main bar for drinks and we had to order pretty much soon as we arrived as the kitchen closed at 8 and my booking was at 6. Apart from that our waitress Lolita? Was AMAZING!

The venue is nicely decorated and styled and we were greeted on entry and taking to our table by a polite and friendly and attentive waitress. Unfortunately that’s where the positives ended. Myself and my partner had the beef roast, the beef had a slimy texture was seriously undercooked and very fatty. The potatoes were also undercooked. The broccoli was fit for the pin, way past its best and it was the same with my partner’s cauliflower cheese. My daughter who made the booking for Mother’s Day barely ate her fish as it was watery and very mushy. We got the attention of the waitress to complain about the food, she was apologetic and said she’d get the manager to speak to us, we waited about 45 mins and the manager never arrived so we got the attention of the waitress again and she went off to speak to the manager again. Eventually we had the meals discounted but not to the level that matched the waste of money and poorly prepared food. I would not recommend this place for food.

Met with a friend for a late lunch, catch up, natter. Perfect! We ordered 4 starters and shared as neither of us were over hungry. Food delicious! Surrounding just lovely! We then sat there chatting so long we realised the 2 for 1 cocktails had started! Not many to choose from but my! They were so good! I know we'll be back again!

We had the lunch set menu and the food was really good — well-prepared dishes and absolutely amazing desserts. The service was excellent: friendly and attentive, especially thanks to the lovely Jasmeen who made us feel very welcome. It’s a real pity about the lack of cleanliness, as the place has great potential and could be truly outstanding with a bit more care.

Food & service was first class, despite being very busy the waitress was very attentive. Giving that it was a Saturday afternoon you will find it quite boisterous and I found the music to be a touch loud (but I am old and grey!!) and we were having to chat with raised voices, still, it was lovely, I enjoyed the steak and the Mrs enjoyed her burger. Therefore if you don't mind really loud music on Saturday afternoon then this is the place for you - recommended.....👍👍

Stumbled across this place whilst visiting Birmingham and oh my it did not disappoint! The food was absolutely delicious. We ordered a mixed grill & baklava. Friendly and attentive staff with clean facilities. We are already planning our next visit.

Visited Comptoir Libanais yesterday for lunch. It was packed so you definitely should book a table. We shared a mezze of vegan dishes. Falafels which were crispy but light and fluffy inside and perfectly spiced. Hommos silky smooth served with warm flatbread. Batata harra, amazing roast potatoes, crispy, slightly spiced with a kick of chilli. Tabbouleh, so tasty and zesty. Fattoush, a gorgeous salad with mint and crispy pitta bread and finally a garlic and Za'atar flatbread, if you have not tried Za'atar you should, it's a wonderful mix of herbs and it was a taste sensation. We had drinks and it cost around £25 each and we were not hungry when we left. Service was great, very attentive but not pestering. My only critism was there was only one vegan dessert on offer, vanilla ice cream so we did not bother. We would definitely return and highly recommend. Great for vegans, vegetarians and meat eaters.

I can’t recommend this restaurant enough, it was out first visit and we were very impressed. Amazing, friendly staff, especially Emma our server. Great menu with plenty of vegetarian choices. The restaurant was busy but that was great as it had a lovely lively atmosphere. Can’t wait to return.

Oh what an AWESOME meal! Perfect place and wonderful decor. Don't miss this place at all. The interior is absolutely beautiful and the food is so traditional and spot on. I wasn't expecting this at all and it blew my mind.

I recently visited this restaurant and ordered the platter for two, priced at £27 plus service charge. Unfortunately, I didn’t find it to be good value for money. For the price, the portion size and overall quality fell short of expectations. While the presentation was fine, the quantity and balance of dishes didn’t feel generous enough to justify the cost, especially once the service charge was added. This might work better as a light sharing option, but as a main meal for two, it left us disappointed. A more substantial offering or fairer pricing would make the experience much more worthwhile. In the picture the platter for two (there were two pitas not captured).

We've been coming here for 7 years and we still love the decor and the food although the portions are quite small and the bill gave us a shock, especially as they added on £8 tip without telling us. We don't feel the food is worth the price.

Really great experience! The food was delicious, prices super reasonable and they gave us a complimentary dish and lots of offers going on! And a separate vegan section! Dishes are tapas style, I would recommend 2 person and then an additional roti! I am so glad I found this little gems! Had the: kajumaluwa - 10/10 Roti 10/10 Mango curry 5/10 - a bit too sweet for me! Fat sister 10/10 Parippu 8/10 (but I’m not a big fan of dhal) Chickpeas 8/10 (dry - I thought they were sauce) String hoper - 8/10 fun experience but a little fiddly to eat! 20/10 definitely recommend!

Amazing Bottomless Brunch at Coconut Tree! We had the most fantastic time at Coconut Tree's bottomless brunch! For just £45, we enjoyed two hours of non-stop fun, great vibes, and endless drinks. The cocktails were delicious and refreshing, with a fantastic range to choose from, and the staff were super friendly and attentive, making sure our glasses were never empty. The food was flavorful and authentic, packed with vibrant flavors that paired perfectly with the drinks. The atmosphere was lively and laid-back, perfect for a fun brunch with friends. Overall, great value for money and an experience I’d highly recommend! Can't wait to return!

I've been before so I knew the food would be fantastic. Big fan of the negombo fish curry, which had a flavourful glow. And the parotta and dhal were delicious. The team were super attentive and friendly too - shout out to our server, Ash. Would definitely recommend and will be back to dine again.

Because there was a discount, we decided to try some dishes we don't usually eat, and today we chose to have Sri Lankan food. We arrived at 12:00 and we were the only customers, maybe it's busier in the evening? We ordered egg hopper, prawn curry, devilled chicken wings, roast chicken kotthu, sticky rice, and rotti. Actually, before ordering, the waiter mentioned that some dishes would be on the smaller side, and when they arrived, we were surprised at how small the portions were. I don't usually eat this type of cuisine, so I’m not very good at judging it, but overall it was quite tasty. However, the meat portions were quite small, so meat lovers might find it insufficient. As for the sticky rice, the texture was different from the usual East Asian sticky rice, more like a cake consistency. In the end, after finishing the meal, the two of us were surprisingly full, even though we had originally planned to order dessert but couldn’t fit it in!

Delicious food, portions look small but are actually quite filling. Highly recommend the hopper, beetroot curry and the sticky coconut rice.

Great place to eat in Birmingham. Something a bit different as never been to a Sri Lankan restaurant before. Prawn curry was delicious and a must try is the hopper 😍 Lots of choice on the menu and great service too .

The restaurant had a really nice vibe to it, even at 6pm on a Saturday afternoon, it was busy. We ordered 4 dishes plus rice and bread, and that was plenty for the 2 of us. The food was delicious, our favourites were actually the veggie food, the Beetroot and carrot dishes, followed by the goat curry. All the dishes were very spicy, so its probably a good idea to ask if you don't like heat. Definitely recommend.

Popped in for a couple of pints before a social event elsewhere. Friendly service, great beer at a reasonable price for the location. Also very nice and polished looking inside. The lady behind the bar asked if I was planning to get through each beer, and believe me, I'd have loved to! But I just went for the two I was sure I'd like most. They don't pack as much of a punch as other similar beers, but they make up for it with flavour.

We had a nice lunch of fish and chips. We stopped by here several times on this trip. The service was excellent. The primary beer options were from Purity Brewing. Toilets were clean.

I’m glad this bar has remained an entry in the Good Beer Guide; they’ve kept their prices down but the quality of the ale remains as good as ever. Make the most of it while you can!

Nice bar, good atmosphere and really lovely staff! Gotta say I was disappointed with the chicken burger - £16 for a pretty tasteless breaded fillet and not a large portion size either. But the other food & drinks in our group were good, great selection of craft beers (including alcohol-free/0%. And like I said, really nice staff. Overall good lunch spot.

The staff were absolutely lovely, very friendly and accommodating. The food however was overcomplicated. The bacon on the bacon cheeseburger had little to no taste and the sauce ruined any flavour the actual burger had. Great space though for large groups, though the cellar was chilly so might not be so great as it gets colder.

I am here on a Friday at 13 hours, not noisy, not busy, just the right atmosphere for a quick bite and the chance to chat with your friends and/or family. I ordered the cheese and steak sandwich. It was fine, nothing fancy, nothing extravagant, a very simple sandwich, I'd say. I was surprised by the fact that it seems to have cream instead of mayo, not sure if this is the way they do things here, I'm not from the UK. Service was great. The waiter was fast, friendly, attentive. The food also took a very short time to arrive. Overall, I spent 22£ for a sandwich with fries and a beer, not bad.

Was recommended by a friend, has an amazing variety of dishes from various asian backgrounds and a large vegetarian menu, as well as an extensive menu of drinks. Lively and inclusive atmosphere with brilliant friendly service. Noted that there's outdoor seating friendly for dogs too. Delicious food and great service. The best Tom Yum soup I've ever had, at a portion size so big I couldn't finish it! Perfect amount of chilli oil. Tender chicken and a great amount of veggies on top. Could taste how the spinach had been wilted separately with some garlic before being added to the top of the soup. It added such a lovely depth of flavour. Tasty dairy free shakes too!

Myself and my family have been coming here for years since they had the large restaurant by the markets. The food has always been of a high standard.They have fresh and tasty dishes. My favourite being the squid fried rice and my daughter absolutely loves their Oreo milkshakes!

Although the dishes in the restaurant are Vietnamese, they are all similar to fusion dishes in terms of price and taste. If you are looking for the taste of traditional moonlight, I think this may not be suitable for you, but aside from this, the overall taste is good, but the price-performance ratio is not compromised.

Cannot fault the service, efficiency and food quality. We go back often. Especially because the vegetarian/vegan options are so so tasty.

This is the best restaurant, everything is fresh and full of flavour, it honestly puts Chinatown to shame. I’ve been here several times and I’ve never been disappointed. I appreciate that they always find space to fit us in despite how busy they get! All the staff are friendly, welcoming and attentive. I think the prices are very fair considering they have high quality products. I am a picky eater yet I clear my plate every time I come here😂. Already planning my next trip here 🥰

I visited with an old friend for an overdue catch up a couple of nights ago and we really did choose well. From the moment I walked in (my friend was parking the car) Alfie the owner was smiling and friendly offering drinks and water. The food was stunning with some of the best gyoza I have ever eaten and the crispy beef is perfect. We also ate squid and scallops with prawns which were delightful. A small restaurant with a genuine emphasis on excellent food and service. The wine kept coming even after we had paid the bill which was very generous and after a lovely chat with Alfie he helped me into the car as I’m waiting for a new knee!! All in all a wonderful experience which will be repeated very soon. A gem on the high street.

i came here with my boyfriend for a celebratory meal. the gin selection is fantastic, never seen so many options! we enjoyed all of the drinks that we tried which was a fair few! the food was okay, we got a starter each and then shared a pizza. we both agreed we should have just got a pizza each as it was a little smaller than we were expecting, but still fresh and delicious. we finished it off with a (very generous) portion of tiramisu to share, which was very good! i would definitely come back to sit in the beer garden in the sun, and get a whole pizza for myself!

Me and my friends attended on a Saturday for a bottomless brunch. I anticipated we may be slightly late so emailed to ask if we could move the brunch forward 30 minutes however no one responded. We managed to arrive at our original time and drink and food orders were taken promptly. The food was nice and the variety of drinks kept everyone happy. Service was prompt. Our brunch was due to finish at 3.30pm so the waitress came over at 3pm and said the brunch is finishing soon so can I get you some more drinks then I'll take your final order after that. Throughout the brunch we had been finishing our drinks in around 5-7 minutes. The waitress arrived at 3.15pm with our last drinks then promptly took payment for the brunch. We still had 15 minutes left of our 90 minutes, which we believed we could have easily had one more order. I have been to most of the bottomless brunches in Birmingham and also other places in the UK and usually the last order is taken at the end of the brunch. When we questioned this, we were advised that our time started from when we started drinking, so my friend stated that we placed our drinks order at 2pm and didn't start drinking til after 2pm if that was the policy and the waitress said "well I took your order at 2pm." The argument we had was that we still had 15 minutes left of our brunch and they were taking our payment trying to get us off the table before the 90 minutes was up. I feel we had a completely valid point and something that I have never come across at any other bottomless and that we asked politely, yet we were met with attitude from the waitress. Everything up until this point was great. My recommendation would be that if you want to go to a bottomless brunch where you are actually given the whole 90 minutes as promised on the t&c's then to attend elsewhere!

Lovely building and you can make your own gin has to be a good thing 😀 we had dinner before watching ELO over and out tour in his home town. Great drinks and cocktails 🍸 dinner was delicious the menu had not been updated from the wab site so no Sunday dinners only ice for dessert!! should be better

We had our engagement party at The Distillery Birmingham, and it couldn’t have been more perfect! From the start, the events manager Chelsea was incredible – she answered every question quickly and clearly, making the whole planning process stress-free. On the day, everything ran so smoothly. The room was emptied promptly when we needed, and being able to decorate beforehand and collect everything the next day made life so much easier. The bar staff were brilliant too – service was fast, drinks were flowing, and they kept the space spotless all night. We also booked the DJ they recommended, Jordan, and he was outstanding! His music choices catered perfectly for such a wide age range, and the dance floor was full from start to finish. Overall, we couldn’t have asked for a better venue or team to help us celebrate such a special occasion. Thank you to everyone at The Distillery for making our engagement party unforgettable!

A fantastic space to host private events, the staff couldn’t have been more helpful - even if they did run out of Intuition, I can forgive them for how accommodating they were throughout! Chelsea fielded numerous queries in advance, answering them all with clarity & in good time. We also made great use of the outside space, which was fantastic in the later-afternoon sun. We had numerous compliments from guests about the quality of the food - which was plentiful & managed superbly by the team on the day.

Great bar for a sunny afternoon, plenty of outdoor seats and a great drinks selection. Keeps the sun late in the afternoon and they have a large outdoor screen for sports. Haven’t eaten here so can’t comment on the food but looked like pub style and pizzas

After more than ten years of regularly lunching and dining at this restaurant — over at least 150 visits by my count — I am disheartened to say that tonight’s dinner was the worst experience I’ve ever had here. I used to be a loyal and satisfied customer, with even my most recent visit last weekend being decent. But what I encountered today was simply unacceptable. The roasted pork was visibly burnt and had a harsh, bitter flavour that overpowered the dish. The stir-fried chives with egg barely contained any chives at all — what few there were had been overcooked beyond recognition, and onions were used as a poor substitute. The dish bore little resemblance to the appealing photo on the menu. To make matters worse, the Chinese tea was stale and unpleasant, with a musty, almost spoiled flavour. The accompanying vegetables were fibrous, yellowed, and extremely difficult to chew or swallow. The only redeeming item was the fried rice, which was just passable. I genuinely hope this was an isolated incident, but unless there is an honest explanation or some acknowledgment of what went wrong, I no longer feel inclined to return. The experience was not only disappointing — it was physically distressing. I had to leave the restaurant before finishing the meal due to an upset stomach, which is something I’ve never experienced here before. For a place I once trusted and frequently recommended, this has been a very unfortunate and upsetting decline.

Came here with four colleagues and we all ordered the four-meat dish with egg fried rice. The service was impressively quick, and it was great to see all the food freshly prepared and cut right in the open kitchen—you can watch everything being made. The food was delicious and generously portioned, especially considering the amount of meat you get. Great value for money!

Rough service, food decent. We ordered several dishes to try: *2 roast with rice *pork hock with rice *lou mei with rice *chives with pigs blood *soup of the day *fried beef ho fun My favorite was chives with pigs blood. It was a nice and tasteful dish. The lou mei was braised nicely, I can deffo taste the lou mei flavour! Soup of the day was nice as well and reminds me of mums soup ☺️. It had dried mushroom and pork ribs. The ho fun was a bit too oily for me. But flavour was good. On the other hand.. the waitresses talks loud, listens to our convos and attention span of a fish. How can one take our order then proceeds to bring us food that we didnt order 🤣. We also didnt want certain duck parts in our lou mei dish. Which she didn't tell the meat chopper until last minute. Meat chopper got annoyed and very loud 💀. I also felt a bit uncomfortable when I hear them repeating what we were talking about. But you get what you paid for. Next time just heads down and eat.

It doesn’t look like much from the front and inside is the same, but what does draw your attention is the traditional roasted meat hanging in the window. I went for the salt and pepper kings prawns with rice and a side of curry sauce. The prawns were freshly cooked and a generous portion. I’m glad I went for curry sauce as it would be a bit dry for my liking otherwise. The 3 or 4 meat roast from Peach Garden is a popular choice and loved by many who say it’s very authentic. If you fancy trying this be aware that the meat isn’t served hot and you will have bones. We also ordered tofu in black bean sauce. It was the soft, sort of eggy like tofu. The stir fried veg was nice and crunchy. It would have benefitted for a little more sauce to go with the good serving of rice you get. Service was efficient and food is served super quickly. You can also order to take away.

I sometimes come here to buy duck to take away, and sometimes we stay to eat at the restaurant because our child really loves the duck here, even though it takes me two hours by train to get here. In the past, the sauce was always served separately, but this time the duck was brought out on two plates with the sauce already poured on. Since our child cannot eat the sauce, I politely asked the man if he could change one plate for us without sauce (especially as they didn’t ask me beforehand about putting the sauce on). However, the man spoke in Vietnamese with unpleasant words and a rude attitude, making it seem as though it was my fault for not saying something earlier. I was only making a simple request, but his manner was very unfriendly. I also don’t know how he translated this to the younger man, but instead of having an enjoyable meal that our family had been looking forward to, we ended up feeling uncomfortable and unable to enjoy the food because of his attitude.

I was drawn in by the lovely smell of coffee when I walked past. I just about found a table for two of us as it was quite a busy time. Service was generally good. I had a flat white which is usually my standard coffee shop order, and it was decent. Lots of lovely looking cakes and pastries but I wasn't hungry so didn't try them.

I've been here lots and have never been disappointed. This is the best coffee I have tried in Brum. I usually just snack here and find a great selection to chose from. If you are a coffee snob you will be fine here. ☕ It helps that the staff are very pleasant and helpful too.

A lovely little cafe with good coffee and sweet treats to accompany. Looks like they're made on site. No toilets but there are free ones across the road in the station. Also do some sofas for those who don't want to caffeinate.

Great time at this coffee place. They offer a large range or sweet/ salted crepes and drinks with some specials. The lemon crepe was alright, preferred the jam and cream one which had more filling. The Mexican hot chocolate was definitely strong 🔥. Overall the staff is really sweet and it’s a cosy place. I would recommend the place

Coffee time was one of my favourite places to come and treat myself and chill out for a bit. The service is great and so is the food. I'm so sad to hear they've shut the whole precinct, this place is such a gem I really hope they're able to keep going!

This is NOT the "Best Coffee in Birmingham". It could be, with the right barista working the espresso machine. This quality could easily be improved with a little staff training. What Coffee Time does offer is nice service and comfy seating.

Great selection of sweet and savoury crêpes! The crêpes are really thin and delicious! The coffee is strong and the prices are low! There is outdoor seating if you like! The go to place to energise your morning!

This is a place you will need to book in advance. They used to charge a £20 deposit but they don't take this payment upfront anymore. They will charge if you don't turn up I guess. The food is delicious and we particularly enjoyed the crispy pork belly and courgette dish. The mains were ok (chicken noodles) but I'd say the food from the specials board stole the show. I have been here a few times now over the last few years and feel that it's somewhat different. Can't quite place my finger on it though mind. Overall however tasty food and friendly staff.

So... regardless of the pushback, the experience here was terrible! We came because of the 5-star Google Maps reviews and because Stirchley is becoming an amazing place to visit. The first problem is the £20 booking fee if you are absent. I understand the concept, but £20? That's the most I've seen from a small establishment. Second, the food! Wow! My partner and I were on the toilet for 2 days after. The chicken wasn't cooked properly at all! Lastly, my clothes stank of 2-week-old, stale deep-frying oil. It was embarrassing to go anywhere else after. The toilet is outside—I mean, seriously, 5 stars? Won't be coming here again unless we need a detox

Scruffy looking place but I’m sure it’s deliberate😁 Smallish menu. Very busy but great energy from within. Very friendly knowledgeable staff. Absolutely amazing food. Great pork belly, great veggie dishes but my personal favourite were the peanut butter and marmite chicken wings 😁👏👏👏 A great table for four with reservations a must. Would highly recommend this gem of a restaurant. Definitely worth a visit, looking forward to returning. They are absolutely michelin star worthy, which I hope they get very soon as it is well deserved.

First time at Cuubo and will definitely be back! This is a really perfectly formed little place, lovely welcome and hospitality from when you walk in the door. Everything on the 3 course dinner menu sounded amazing and we had a wine flight to celebrate a special occasion. The beef for main was so beautifully cooked it really melted in the mouth. Finishing with the fresh but sweet lemon dessert really ended the whole thing on a high. Great price for such quality.

It was mine and my husband’s anniversary and we had the 3 course set menu. Best food we’ve had in ages. Started with the sausage raviolo, then beef, then chocolate cherry. I had the melon cocktail (which contained tequila). Absolutely gorgeous and we were full to bursting. Service was fabulous too. Would definitely recommend. I was so in awe I forgot to take photos!! I have had the pleasure of eating Dan's food before it became this exquisite restaurant. I have dined here on two separate occasions with my dear friends, they were blown away with the flavours, the atmosphere, service and staff. Esther knows her wines, Dom is so welcoming, Grace is attentive. Dan and John just cook great food. Thank you all for making my visits so special.

The quality of the food in this restaurant really is amazing. I took my mom for lunch yesterday for her birthday and she hasn't had a fine dining experience before and she wasn't as excited about visiting as I was until her 1st course arrived....We both absolutely loved all 3 courses and my mom said its the best meal she has had in a very long time. The service and atmosphere were fantastic too and we had a lovely time. I highly recommend a visit.

I visited here recently. The ambience was relaxed with interesting surroundings. The staff were helpful. The cappuccino tasted good but wasn't hot enough. The croissant had been over baked; however, they are usually excellent, so hopefully this was just a blip.

Excellent bread and a nice choice of bakery goods. I liked the salad and sandwich options for lunch. There's a cosy basement eat in area. I was less keen on making my own tea (from the provided tea bags) given the price. Price are generally high, but the quality is good.

Fantastic bakers with a focus on sandwiches and breakfast pastries. Delightful downstairs eating area. The only reason for 4 rather than five is the cost - worth it in my mind for a quality independent, but perhaps prohibitive for some.

Uber cool coffee/food/meeting place with amazing choice for drinks and food. We had coffee but our neighbours were tucking into a nacho platter for two. If we lived closer we would be here A LOT! Will revisit when in the area though.

A lovely little place just off the main high street serving delicious lunches plus great bread and amazing cakes. There’s a good deli selection of tins and preserves to go with the bread as well.

Variety of dishes to choose from the menu, I assure you won’t be disappointed! Comes with great portion sizes and value for money. They offer variety of drinks, including boba which is in partnership with the shop next door. Didn’t order it this time but will definitely do so next time!

This place is a little gem! 💎 The food is 💯 fresh, served piping hot, and packed with flavour. We had the salt and pepper prawns with noodles, prawn stir fry with fried rice, ribs, and chicken wings – every dish was spot on! It's rare to find a spot that gets both quality and temperature just right. Reasonably priced and served with a smile – the staff were lovely and welcoming. Would definitely recommend and can’t wait to go back!

A must visit when we visit the supermarket next door. The food is amazing, fresh, tasty and large portions. Visited many times and always a 10 out of 10. The girls are so friendly and helpful. Great value

Love lovs love this food. The beef brisket soup is amazing. I have also ordered the brisket on its own. The flavours are scrumptious. The wings are fresh hot and well flavoured. The roast duck is seasoned well. Rice is a little bland and too soft. This is the only down side to the meals. The rice isn't great. . But the meals are spot on. Very tasty. Highly recommended

We fancied a Vietnamese coffee after popping into WingYip as on the Maps the Min Min Vietnamese coffee was recommended. The minimum spend fot cards is £10, and we didn't have any cash on us, so we decided to share a Brisket Hot Pot and some noodles. Both dishes were so so so delicious and flavoursome, and the service is lovely and positive too. I'm so looking forward to returning and trying more dishes!

Popped in for a quick lunch before visiting the superstore. Very impressed with the place. I would describe it more as a cafe style in layout and size. There is an outdoor overspill seating area for the late warm afternoons or even the evenings. The menu has a small but very popular selection of Chinese, Vietnamese and Japanese dishes. I personally chose the Beef brisket Massaman Curry with fried rice. Absolutely delicious! The service was excellent and staff were friendly and helpful. Recommend booking prior to attending. Due to its size and clearly its popularity it gets quite busy. Definitely book if you have a party of 4+. We booked at 1:45pm and within an hour it was almost full. Delicious food, delightful atmosphere and service. Recommend a visit if you’re in the area.

We enjoyed a dinner here tonight, our first time visiting and we will definitely come back. The price is good for portions size, the restaurant is comfortable to sit in, clean tables. Recommend the beef ho fun in particular! If you pay in cash you can get 10% discount off your bill.
