Scenic Walking Areas
Malham Cove is a remarkable geological formation in Yorkshire, featuring a limestone amphitheatre, waterfall, and stunning valley views. This large limestone structure was formed by glacier water during the last ice age and is now adorned with deeply eroded limestone pavement at its top. The area offers glorious vistas over the village of Malham and the surrounding Yorkshire Dales National Park.
Stunning place, amazing views. Extremely tight roads towards the village. Parking is on the street in the village if you are quick enough. Toilets are also in the village but no toilets around Malham Cove so make sure you went before 😉 path is easy enough for anybody however if you want to climb to the top you'll need to be ready for thousands of steep steps. Fascinating to watch the rock-climbers in action. Fabulous place to visit!
Ivana B — Google review
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Malham Cove is stunning! The limestone cliff is incredible to see up close, and the walk to the top is definitely worth it for the amazing views. The limestone pavement at the top is unique and really special. A great place for walking, exploring, or just taking in the scenery. Peaceful, beautiful, and unforgettable – highly recommend a visit! It is a bit of a trek and quite tiring!
Haaroon Y — Google review
Hard to know where to begin with a place like this. From the first glimpses of the cove on the approach to the views from the limestone pavement at the top, every step is a feast for the senses. Before you head straight for the top check out the glade at the base of the cove first. Almost surreal in it's beauty, it is the sort of place you never really want to leave, and in a sense I never will having carried a bit of it away with me in memory. Every step up towards the top provides sweeping vistas of the surrounding countryside to enjoy. Not the easiest of walks, had to take advantage of several opportunities to rest on the way. The reward for your efforts though is worth it. An otherworldly landscape of limestone slabs and the deep fissures between them. Mind your footing as you cross but make sure you fully explore everything (views and all) that the top has to offer. An absolute must see destination in its own right. Put this on your to do list now if it's not already there.

We arrived around 9am and there was some free car parking on the road. The main car park was full. Public toilets are clean with signs regarding routes. We did the circular route which was great for mixed ages but is moderate. Beautiful scenery. Nice cafes at the start and finish for a cuppa and slice of cake.
Rach J — Google review
Fantastic even if you don't go up to the top. Easy parking, nice pub and shops toilets good. You can walk the long way up and avoid steps, but still fairly hard. The styles have stone steps for big dogs who can climb ok.
Edward R — Google review
This is Mother Nature at its best!! Absolutely breathtaking scenery once you’ve reached the top. The limestone pavement is a marvel and the views across the Dales is spectacular!! Our dog loved the walk!! There’s a number of steps, sometimes uneven, so be careful. But it’s worth the climb to get there!!
Elisa W — Google review
Parked at the visitor centre, 2+ hours £6 ,pay by card only. Toilets and a little shop in the VC. Tea shop and pub within 2 mins walking. Walked to Janet's Foss in approx. 25 mins, then continued onto Malham Cove. This part is uphill but not overly difficult. Circular walk, we took it easy and completed it in just over 2 hours. Lovely views. Take a camera.

Malham Cave is a stunning natural wonder with breathtaking rock formations and scenic surroundings. The walk up to the cave is refreshing, and the views are worth every step. A peaceful spot perfect for nature lovers, hikers, and photographers. Truly a must-visit when exploring Malham.

Abbey
Sights & Landmarks
Garden
Fountains Abbey, located in the Yorkshire Dales, is a National Trust property that offers a captivating blend of history and natural beauty. Nestled in a secluded valley, this UNESCO World Heritage Site features the impressive ruins of a Cistercian Abbey alongside an 18th-century landscaped garden. Visitors can explore the grand abbey ruins with its hidden staircases and alcoves before venturing to the Cisterian Mill built by the monks.
Fountains Abbey is a truly magical place! We visited as a family and were amazed not only by the impressive ruins but also by the breathtaking natural surroundings. The walking paths through the gardens, trees, and streams made the whole experience peaceful and refreshing. One of the highlights for us was the deer park—such a special moment to see the deer roaming freely in such a beautiful setting. The area is very family-friendly, and our child loved exploring. The staff and volunteers were kind and informative, which made our visit even more enjoyable. A perfect mix of history, nature, and tranquility—highly recommended!
Fırat O — Google review
What an incredible place, if you are like myself you will need multiple trips to take in everything. We spent the entire day basically going around the ruins and didn't even get chance to go in the Hall or the deer park. Stunning place and it is lovely to see it busy as well, and not to mention how well maintained it is. English heritage and National Trust free entry which is a bonus. Highly recommended place to go and like I said maybe two days to explore the entire site properly but wow you won't regret it.
Damien S — Google review
Wow, what a place! Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal Gardens completely blew me away. The abbey ruins are absolutely stunning – huge, dramatic, and full of atmosphere. You can just wander around and lose yourself in the history. The gardens are gorgeous too – so beautifully designed with lakes, statues, little follies, and surprise viewpoints. Catching a glimpse of the abbey from across the water is like something out of a painting. We also spotted deer in the park which was a bit of a treat! Loads of walking routes to choose from, so you can do a quick wander or spend the whole day exploring. There’s also two good on-site cafes, one at the visitor centre, and one lakeside venue. There are also plenty of picnic spots if you bring your own. The whole place is spotless and really well looked after. This was one of the best days out I’ve had in ages – peaceful, scenic, and full of history. It is also a World Heritage Site to boot, so you are in for a treat!
David H — Google review
We attends an evening event with a male voice choir which was just lovely. To explore the ruins in the dark/by torchlight gave it a very different feel. The acoustics for the concert were brilliant and gave me goosebumps! We will definitely return in the daytime to see it again. Nice to do something different, we had a great time.
Helen C — Google review
It's a magical place. The Abbey is large and it is in good condition considering it's hundreds of years old. You could spend quite sometime here enjoying the Abbey. There is alot to see on the estate.
Jonathan C — Google review
Absolutely Stunning place to visit. The grounds are immense and walks were beautiful. So we'll looked after. I'll definitely be going back to see the rest of it, it is so vast. Tip. Go early and take a pick nic if it's nice, or enjoy the cafe on site.
Bfcuk1 — Google review
The Abbey is beautiful and nd there is so much to see in the grounds. The Mill, Hall and the walk by the river through the woods to a lovely view point. The pools and statues are great. There are toilets and cafes in the grounds. Spent 5 hours there and still didn't get to see the deer park and church.
Tel F — Google review
Visited over the New Year A great set of ruins with plenty of information boards. The site is large so a fair bit of walking involved if you want to take in the gardens, follies & the church, though this isn't open during the winter months but looks spectacular. A coffee shop & seating avaliable near the lake & toilets, as well as near the entrance. The only downside was the amount of children climbing over the ruins, sometimes with big drops, let alone the importance of preserving them. An adequate play area is avaliable.

Hiking Trails
The Ingleton Waterfalls Trail is a stunning 4.5-mile journey that showcases the breathtaking beauty of Yorkshire's countryside. Nestled on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales, this popular trail attracts both locals and visitors year-round with its enchanting scenery. As you traverse this circular route, you'll encounter five magnificent waterfalls and eight water features in total, all while following the picturesque paths along the River Twiss and River Doe.
What a great day out, really nice walk, quite difficult for older people, and a definite no for a little of disabled. But give it a go if you have good support and family assistance. They have a few places for a brew or snack, and even an ice cream van about half way. I think we took about 3 + hours, and walked about 4 miles. Do it you won't regret.
David H — Google review
Never heard of this place before so we thought we'd give it a go. Being in early October and a Monday it was quiet when we arrived, plenty of parking. Not the best of days weatherwise but that didn't put us off. It's definitely a trail that needs moderate fitness as it's fairly up and down with many steps, plus good boots are needed (especially in the wet as the rocks are slippery). But if you take time there shouldn't be any issues. Some amazing waterfalls with good viewing points. There are cafes at the start and half way round but the one by the carpark was closed. (Monday). There was an ice-cream van further up the trail. Overall a pleasant hike with great views. Is it worth £11 per adult? I'd say yes as someone has to maintain it.
Neil R — Google review
This is definitely the stand out experience of our trip. There are so many features and waterfalls along the route and it is well maintained. It was £11 per adult but i think this is definitely worth it! There was a sweet ice cream truck along the way (which also serves hot drinks!) and a full cafe and toilets half way. The waterfalls all had good view points and ability to get close to come. We would definitely return here
Lucy S — Google review
This walk is beautiful and follows a river full of waterfalls around a circular route stating in Ingleton. It is ideal for families with children who can walk 4 miles. The walk has been on private land for many years and costs adults £11 (in 2025) including parking. The walk has a nice cafe stop halfway round. I took a detour up Ingleborough adding another 6 miles, but it was worth the views. Ingleton is a lovely village with decent pubs, cafes and outdoor sports store. A great day out.
Gary P — Google review
Ingleton Waterfalls T was an amazing day out, perfect for enjoying nature and the sound of rushing water. The paths are well maintained and safe, though I’d recommend proper walking boots and a waterproof, breathable jacket (trousers are a good idea too). The full trail takes around 3–5 hours if you take your time, with plenty of stunning views and even small spots by the water to sit and relax. Dogs are welcome, but in some areas they must be kept on a lead, especially during lambing season. Facilities are good: there are free toilets at the car park and also a coffee stop there. At the top of the trail, you’ll find a café serving hot drinks, cakes, light food, and non-alcoholic drinks. Car parking costs £11, and tickets can be purchased on arrival. The last admission is at 4 pm, but it’s best to check the official website for the most up-to-date opening times. Overall, it’s a fantastic walk for nature lovers, with a great mix of scenery and facilities. Just a great day out!🌄
Mattik — Google review
Way better than I imagined..walk took 3 hours to complete, and we saw many small to medium waterfalls. Entrance at £11 IS good value, don't let it put you off. Parking is plentiful, with excellent toilets just before yo pay to enter.
CHRISSO F — Google review
The parking is free, but a entrance fees apply. The fee is absolutely worth it considering the work that must have gone in creating the paths, bridges, observation decks and walkways, truly a mark of engineering skills. Safe to walk if you are careful, and have good footwear. Not suitable for wheelchairs, pushchairs or anyone that isn't able to negotiate rocks, changing surfaces (which can be slippery) and heights! Amazing sets of many waterfalls of different categories, beautiful scenery and even a small snack cabin half way around in the middle of nowhere, as well as a lovely one towards the end of the walk. What a lovely village this is set in and surrounding areas are truly wonderful. Definitely go again as it's not the most strenuous of walks, and taking in all the sites and steady away take a few hours and about 4.5 miles circular. I will revisit in the winter when the water is higher, as I would imagine it's a powerful force to watch. Go check out this amazing place.
Mark — Google review
We visited the Ingleton Waterfalls Trail with a guest on a sunny summer bank holiday and really enjoyed it. Although the park was crowded, the walk is very rewarding. Parking is FREE. The only downside is that the ticket is valid for a single entry. it would be amazing if it could be used throughout the year, similar to some museums in the UK. Unfortunately, we also noticed some plastic bottles and dog waste left behind by visitors, which is disappointing. Aside from that, we had a great time and would definitely recommend the trail.

Temple Newsam is a magnificent historic mansion located just southeast of Leeds city center, surrounded by lush parkland and a working farm. This grand residence boasts an impressive collection of priceless art and antiques, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the area. Visitors can explore beautifully landscaped grounds designed by Capability Brown in the 18th century, as well as formal parterre gardens that add to its charm.
Beautiful flowers in the walled garden at Temple Newsam! The greenhouse is currently closed for refurbishment, however there's lots of vibrant colours on display in the gardens. Enjoyed the daily special in the tearoom for £6.99, which was a southern fried chicken salad with sweet chilli sauce. They also serve a good range of sandwiches, jacket potatoes and cakes. Plenty of seating indoors and outdoors in the courtyard. Always a nice place to wander around for an hour or two!
Julie M — Google review
My favourite park. I live not far. Great place for a walk, cycling and running and many other events. Beautiful view around. Little lakes and garden. Massive space for walkers or people who do sports. House is great too. Farm _ great for kids and children. I just love it each time of the year.
Anna L — Google review
Super enjoyed the visit , fantastic insight on how the very wealthy lived in this wonderful mansion. The influence they would have had when Great Britain was building its empire around the world. Definitely worth a visit 👍🏻
Malcolm P — Google review
Four out of five stars because on the whole, the house and Home Farm are brilliant. Good value for money also. The house is as fine and authentic as any grand Elizabethan house that you can imagine. Well preserved and looked after, steeped in history and a real maze of corridors, rooms, staircases and more. The staff have beautifuly dressed it with a Halloween theme throughout and all are super friendly individuals. The farm also is staffed by a real good bunch and the farm is easy to get around and explore. The cobbles however may prove difficult for some but in truth aren't that bad and add to the original character of the farm. The landscape also makes for aesthetic viewing and walking, a real Capability Brown piece. The let down is that whilst the house and farm is payable, albeit good value, the wider estate is free access and whilst that is a benefit to most, you had the same old few who like to destroy or degrade all that is beautiful by rising off road bikes through the estate. Plenty of playgrounds for the young ones and parking is affordable (£4 for 12 hours). A treasure that we need to preserve for future generations and a great day out.
Richard P — Google review
Our first time here and what a lovely place to visit. Only £2.50 to park for upto 4 hrs. We didn't go in the house or farm because we had our dog with us. We walked around the estate and had some lovely food in the cafe. Looking forward to going back and visiting the house in the near future.
Peter S — Google review
Marvelous park and surrounding areas. Extra payment for house and farm entrance. Cafe fairly expensive. About £16 for 3 coffee ☕ and 2 "sausage" rolls. Ordered sausage rolls and these were the worst sausage rolls ever. Not a sign of anything like sausage. And lacking any taste. Will go again. Will use cafe. Will not eat. Would have been 5***** except for that
John H — Google review
Large well kept grounds with lots of wide paths. Free motorised disabled transport. Nice walled garden. Very peaceful

The Yorkshire Three Peaks is a challenging 38-kilometer trek with about 1500 meters of ascent, featuring the lion-shaped summits of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside, and Ingleborough. It's a popular rite of passage for friends and a challenge walk for charity groups. The route can get busy in summer, so off-season attempts are recommended.
Did the "Three Peaks" a few years ago. Best thing I've ever done. The scenery in this area is awe inspiring. If you live in this area you're a lucky so and so.

Don’t underestimate the distance from one peak to the next; that’s my biggest advice from a Novice. John was greeted on the second peak; an elderly gentleman in his tie.

A tough challenge indeed make sure you plan your route as to a few little surprises on the way, we trained on 12k with hills before attempting this i recommend double 20 to 24k to achieve this challenge. We had a three man team & completed 2 peaks but one member went down through injury, so plan B rescue to get him down went into action. All down safely. A good eye opener, we are going back to finish the job next year with more experience on the terrain.

Breakfast restaurant
Located in the heart of Leeds at the Victoria Quarter Arcades, The Ivy Victoria Quarter is a two-story restaurant known for its vibrant decor and British menu offerings. The restaurant's traditional green and gold Art Deco stylings create a stylish and elegant atmosphere, with outdoor seating available for sunny days. Renowned for its delectable afternoon tea, the venue features an art deco interior with gold leaf ceilings and a twenties-style bar.
We didn’t book, but decided to call in here to have a light bite and a glass of Prosecco in the outdoor dining area. The waiter, Jack, came straight over and offered us water. We chatted a little and he asked whether we were celebrating anything, and we told him that it was my birthday and that was our reason for being in Leeds. We explained we are only having a small plate because we have a meal booked later in the day. The food we had was amazing, I highly recommend the crab starter, it’s definitely a special dish. We finished our food and asked for the bill. Next, Jack walks over with a desert with a candle in it And it had a little chocolate saying happy birthday on it. I was over the moon and it made my day. I want to thank you so much for your kindness and amazing service. Jack is a credit to the Restaurant (which is absolutely stunning). A Service like this Is memorable for all the right reasons and I will probably never forget his kindness 🩷🩷🩷

We visited The Ivy, Leeds on July 16, 2025, to celebrate my daughter’s university graduation and had a fantastic experience. The restaurant is beautiful, perfect for a special occasion. I had the prix fixe menu with duck salad, sea bass, side of mashed potatoes and crème brûlée — all delicious. One of my daughters had the same but chose the chocolate bombe, which was amazing too. Service was top-notch, our server was lovely and super attentive. Even the bathrooms were pretty! Highly recommend!

All of the staff were friendly. The restaurant was bright and welcoming. Our waiter was very attentive, explained that the gift voucher value I had for a cream tea could be used on the main menu instead. We had the cream tea. It was lovely. We got a large pot of tea each and 3 fresh, warm scones with cream & jam each. We were offered an extra tea bag each as we like strong tea! As it was my birthday, the waiter brought me a giant profiterole with a candle in it. A lovely touch.

The place it self is fabulous it looks very classy, it just the service isn’t up to par with what it is. We ordered a desert the chocolate bomb, which was ok but not a wow. Portion wasn’t big either, repo ally the ice cream scoop. We also ordered morning and afternoon tea which were very light which was disappointing as the presentation was nice. Overall wouldn’t go again disappointing especially for being over 25 pounds and with 12% service charge.

Nestled in the charming suburb of Kirkstall, Leeds, Kirkstall Abbey is a stunning remnant of 12th-century architecture that transports visitors back to its vibrant past as a Cistercian monastery. Founded in 1152, this remarkable site showcases well-preserved ruins including the church and cloisters, offering an intriguing insight into medieval monastic life.
Absolute must see. This abbey dates back at least 800 years…. Absolutely incredible, such a beautiful place to visit. There’s a museum as well although we ran out of time for that. There’s a cute coffee shop and souvenir shop as you enter. It’s by donation so pay what you feel fair. Carpark is a short walk over the road from the abbey, opposite the small museum. Free parking.
Raelene R — Google review
Beautiful place for a wander on a sunny day! Parking outside the Museum for free. Entry is free but you will have to make a cash donation via terminal or use a traditional box. Toilets, a shop and a little snack shop at the entrance. You can have a picnic outside near a lovely river.
Marta R — Google review
Lovely large medieval abbey which is well presented. Kids enjoyed the simple family trail we did and exploring the various ruins. Particularly like the 'Pay as You're Able' model for every as otherwise things can get prohibitively expensive for families during already busy and expensive summer holidays!
Alistair N — Google review
Really good place to visit on the edge of Leeds . The Abbey is free to enter , they just ask that you make a donation for the upkeep. The parking across the road is free . We were unfortunate that the museum was closed due to lack of staff. Restaurant was clean and tidy and served good quality drinks and snacks. Will go back.

Kirkstall Abbey is an absolute gem in Leeds! The ruins are stunning and so well preserved, with so much history to take in as you wander through the grounds. It’s a perfect place for a peaceful walk, a family day out, or even just to sit and enjoy the scenery. The surrounding parkland is beautifully maintained and makes the whole experience even more special. There’s a lovely mix of history, nature, and open space. It’s free to explore, donations welcome. Definitely one of the highlights of Leeds and somewhere I’d recommend to anyone visiting the city.
Malc S — Google review
Well preserved ruin with lots of information posts. Fine for an enquired tour. Free to enter but there's a suggested donation. Well behaved dogs on leads welcome.
Ian N — Google review
We enjoyed our time here. There was a food market on when we visited. We could visit the Abbey ruins for free. It is very lovely by the water. I had a coffee and a snack in the cafe. There is also a gift shop. The front of the cafe is dog friendly while at the back there is a cafe allowing assisted dogs only. The coffee was very good as was the choice of food and snacks. There is an option to pay to visit the Kirkstall Abbey Museum. Unfortunately we didn't have time to visit this time. Free parking accross the road and well worth a visit 😀
Peter S — Google review
Gorgeous ruin with tons of history, incredible sights, and really lovely picnic spots. The ruins are truly impressive, very majestic, and almost haunting in their imperfection. A lovely walk out from Leeds central, it's a great spot to visit on your tour of the North.

Yeadon Tarn is a very nice place in a very nice area the lake is stunning with tons if happy duck you also get an amazing view of planes flying very close to you the ice cream a reasonable price for ice cream the only problem is the park it was very crowded and very like out together very quickly and I other thing is why you don’t let bike around the lake like put cameras down and only fine the people who mess around but anyways this is my opinion and my experience
Oliver S — Google review
Nice place to go for a walk, there is usually an ice cream van either in one of the car parks or by the play park. If you join the sailing club then you can also rent boats for the tarn also.
Devon M — Google review
Great place for a walk, nice circuit around the lake. Ground is very flat and even so good for skating as well. Lots of fishing spots, close to Yeadon itself. Has parking at the top end, and there is also a fair amount of street parking nearby. Can see and the planes taking off rumbling along the back of the park which is cool as well.
Richard S — Google review
A truly wonderful day. Living so close I often go there, and taking lots of photos. There's plenty of cafe's down Yeadon high street.
Maggie H — Google review
Boring, soulless. Decent size car park, very short walk of about 10-15 minutes. Plenty of seats so good for the elderly or immobile. Flat, circular walk, plenty of dog walkers, picnic benches, area to feed the ducks, small playground for children. Sorry to not be more positive but not worth returning.
Sarah S — Google review
Well maintained paths. Minimal dog fouling which is nice to see. Plenty of seats around the tarn. Tables for picnicing. Ideal for watching aircraft take off from LBA. Kids can feed the ducks and geese. No cafes close by unless you head for the high street.

The Turkish Baths Harrogate is a must-visit in this famous spa town. This ornate Moorish-style bath house, built in the 19th century, offers a unique regime of relaxation and rejuvenation. The fully restored Victorian Turkish Baths boast Islamic arches, vibrant brickwork, painted ceilings, and terrazzo floors that add to its historic elegance. Visitors can indulge in beauty treatments, massages, and alternative therapies while immersing themselves in the traditional-style building's ambiance.
Staff are so friendly. It’s the baths and they offer treatments like scrubs too. Drink plenty of water as you go around. Look for the ghost in the changing area. Perfect mix of history and relaxation

WOW.. From start to finish my experience here was amazing, the staff absolutely impeccable, we made our booking with Jackie on reception, who couldn't have done anymore for me, she went above and beyond, what an amazing lady, Elouise was lovely too, she rebooked us in as we returned and changed the day, reception staff professional in every way.. What you need when entering a business is first class assistance and this certainly was world class.. The spa ladies in particularly Wendy, wow again, she was amazing, nothing was too much trouble, her personality was superb, her experience and knowledge made our experience so much more. There were other ladies working in different areas and all gave a smile to acknowledge me. I write this review with immense thanks to each and everyone in the Turkish Baths Harrogate they all made my experience truly amazing, you see I am a wheelchair user and this place was something I wanted to just try and do what I could do, I wanted to experience it, and it was so much more than I even imagined I could do. I ACTUALLY DID IT ALL..!!! This experience I shall never forget, I even shed a little tear of happiness that I actually did this experience, I was paralysed 8 years ago and never in a million years thought I would be able to do these things, I proved myself wrong, and did it.!! 😊 this will NOT be the only time I come here, this is now going to be my absolute special place and I will be returning as often as I can.. From the bottom of my heart ❤️ I sincerely thank everyone for my experience, and wholeheartedly recommend this place to everyone, be it disabled or able bodied. If you think you can't do it, just try it, you'll be so glad you did, as it'll be an experience you'll never forget.. Fantastic value for money at just £27 for a 1.5-2 hour session.. Next time, I'm going for the soapy body scrub as well.. Thank you, thank you, thank you to each and everyone of you at Turkish baths Harrogate, for making this a dream experience ✨️

A lovely day from start to finish. We have been to the spa many times and love to go back to treat ourselves. We visited yesterday as an anniversary celebration. The thermal experience was a good as ever. The service from the staff was definitely worth a 5 star 🌟 review. All the staff were so nice but a couple were stand out..Craig was so welcoming and kind. What an asset to the spa! I then had a treatment with Georgina. The treatment was great and my skin feels fabulous now, but most of all, Georgina was a ray of sunshine 🌞. I felt uplifted x Thank you

Absolute magic! Clean, well organised, friendly staff. The interiors are a visual gem and work as intended. I came early and was collected for an excellent facial massage (given by Georgina). By the time I got back, the hot rooms had heated up fully and there were quite a few guests. The tone is very relaxing, the added extra being NO piped music, just voices and the sounds from the baths themselves. Total relaxation.

Fabulous place, very friendly staff. Lovely atmosphere, tiled and dark wood panelling. Provided with 2 large towels, there are a range of hot and cold showers with liquid soap/shampoo and conditioner. Moving through the various rooms was so relaxing. Lots of places to relax and not hugely busy (5.30pm on a Thurs evening). Highly recommend if visiting Harrogate.

Fantastic experience using the Turkish baths, the hot rooms followed by the plunge pool was invigorating! Definitely recommend. We then went on to the spa where the lovely Racheal gave me the most amazing treatments Royal retreat& back neck shoulder massage fair to say I was truly relaxed

Definitely a little tired in places as regards decor but still a lovely experience. It's hard to be quiet going into the cold plunge pool but it's next to the quiet relaxation area so you have to keep the screams turned down

Would like to reccomend the fabulous Tour of the Turkish Baths which starts at 8.30am. It was fascinating to know the history of the Turkish Baths and to see the decorative tiles. Also all the gossipy tales by our superb host Brian made it such fun.

Bolton Abbey, located in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales alongside the River Wharfe, offers a vast expanse of picturesque countryside with numerous footpaths and recreational spaces suitable for all ages. Visitors can explore the historic ruins of the Priory and immerse themselves in a landscape steeped in history and folklore. The area also features charming riverside walks, woodland trails, and moorland paths.
A friend recommended a trip to Bolton Abbey, and we weren't disappointed. It's in a beautiful position in the Yorkshire countryside and by the river Wharfe. Parking's £15 or £12.50 if booked in advance but there's no entrance fee, and you have access to the Abbey and walks. There are plenty of places for a picnic but there are also tea rooms if you prefer. If you choose to walk along the river, there's plenty of activities to keep children happy. The walks are a bit arduous in places, so sturdy shoes are needed. It was well worth our 1.45 hour drive to get there.

Car park £15 to park all day. Nice toilet block and gift shop. Some nice cafes on route to Abbey. Some stairs to go down or carry on following the road and walk down the drive. Stepping stones were fun
Lindsay E — Google review
An amazing place. The car park costed £15. We parked at the Abbey car park. The gift shop is very nice and the toilets are nice and clean. We did the welly walk and the pumpkin trail which were both quite enjoyable. Lovely well kept paths. A must visit.

Lovely and well kept! Bolton Abbey is a wonderful place for families of all ages. There’s plenty of space for children to run around and for parents to explore England’s rich history. The grounds feature several excellent cafés, as well as modern and clean facilities. There is also a car park.

Parked at the Abbey car park and walked to the aqueduct. Really good walk. Well maintained paths and 2 cafes en route - we used one for a cuppa on the way and the other for lunch on the way back. Lots to see whilst walking.

Beautiful scenic & historical place to visit in Skipton, Yorkshire. Ideal for picnics, walks, adventure, water paddling and relaxing with nature. Overall a great day out.
Naresh L — Google review
Met my friend for a walk around this place that needed to involve lunch. Lovely setting! We made the slight mistake of letting our curiosity get the best of us! Rather than sticking to the main path, we saw a sign for Desolation Valley and a waterfall and despite not having water or the right shoes for the job, off we went! 4 hours and 22k steps later, we got back to a cafe for a drink before going back past the Abbey and to the car park for a spot of a very late lunch at the nearby Devonshire Arms! Fabulous day and very varied terrain—even climbed over a fence at one point!! Whoops. Didn’t make it inside the Abbey, but the cafe sold sparkling water and Prosecco, so we managed some hydration before the walk was finished.

Ilkley Moor is a stunning upland moorland and conservation area that boasts a remarkable bird population and offers picturesque walking trails. This site of special scientific interest is renowned for its heather moorland, which is an exceptionally rare habitat found mostly in Britain.
A stunning, well preserved and naturally breathtaking place to walk. Both defined paths and the option for paths less taken. There’s so many beautiful spots as well as individual sights to see up in the moors.

Been wanting to go here for such a long time and now finally have, stunning place for a walk. Tough in places but once your up there the views are incredible. Only saw the Twelve Apostles Stone Ring this time but will be going back. Highly Recommended.
James P — Google review
We parked up on the carpark on the main road leading into Ilkley town for a walk to stretch our legs after a long drive . It’s an amazing place with fantastic views all around.
Trevor T — Google review
Great afternoon spent walking Ilkley Moor and all the various scenic spots and ancient landmarks. The main routes are reasonably well signposted and easy to follow, though I suggest keeping os maps or Google maps handy just in case you get a bit further into the moorland off the main touristy tracks.
Ben M — Google review
Very beautiful moorland with wonderful views across the region. Well worth the effort of climbing the hills. On the second day we followed a cycle path suggested by Google. The listing doesn't mention that you have to carry your bike up rocky paths and stairs for at least a mile before you get to the cyclable stretch. It's a challenge!
Simone — Google review
Nice place for a small hike ! Definitely come on a sunny day, the walk gets a bit muddy and slippery after rain and wind is quite strong along the hike, wear something warm and waterproof ! Recommend for a weekend family/friends outing.
Wan-chien H — Google review
Stunning well worth the drive to get there also there is a paved (if a little wobbly in places) path which makes the walking much easier. Views are spectacular my pictures do not do it justice.
