Nestled in the picturesque Swaledale, the Dales Bike Centre is a haven for cycling enthusiasts and adventurers alike. Just a short stroll from Reeth, this charming spot offers an impressive selection of mountain, road, and hybrid bikes for hire. Whether you're tackling the challenging climbs or enjoying leisurely rides through stunning landscapes, there's something for everyone. The centre also provides guided tours to help you navigate the breathtaking terrain of Yorkshire Dales National Park.
Stayed for 1 night on Coast to Coast walk. Perfect location and simple clean bunk room. Plenty of showers and a good if cramped drying room. There is a lounge you can use. Breakfast was good but the cafe is excellent in particular the cakes Chris the manager and all his staff couldn't have been more welcoming. Highly recommend

Had a late lunch at the Cakery. It was absolutely worth the drive to get here. The best coffee I’ve had in a long time. The BLT baguette was delicious and the snickers tiffin was out of this world. Highly recommend recommended. Plus they have the bike shop/repair shop & bike hire.

We had a fantastic time at the Dales bike centre. The setting is beautiful, and the staff are outgoing and accommodating, very willing to help with questions about the area and routes. The food was amazing, and the community at the centre was so inviting. Great group of people! Thanks for the amazing stay and home base for our ride!
Darin L — Google review
This place is highly regarded by local locals for the quality of the food and it's service and is a victim of it's own success. The carpark and cafe both get quite full, although visitors are lured outside to take in the views in better weather which easys things a bit. The mountains of homemade cakes are amazing and all to tempting The light meals using local products are excellent value when you take quality into account. Despite being busy the service is excellent due to the hard work of the staff.

What an amazing cafe and coffee shop this is ! With the super vistas in all directions, the ample car parking and the seating both outside and inside - it’s great. The paninis are worth choosing on the menu. They’re generously filled with scrumptious ingredients. This place is definitely worth stopping at , when you’re in the Dales. 100% 5-stars

A lovely cafe with really delicious food! Huge selection of cakes - a few vegan ones too! I had a vegan breakfast panini of vegan cheese, sausage, and bean on the softest, nicest, ciabatta bread! Lovely setting too! Very much recommend

Fantastic bunkhouse, just the job for a mountain biking weekend with mates - super well equipped and comfortable, breakfast included, nothing too much trouble for the owners! Absolutely dreamy weekend exploring the insane riding around. Thanks guys!

One of our favourite cafes to call into when we’re having a drive up swaledale. Always lots of cakes to choose from on the counter, plus an excellent hot food menu, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Happy to recommend!

Bettys Café Tea Rooms is a renowned and iconic establishment in Harrogate, Yorkshire, dating back to 1919. It has become a beloved spot for locals and tourists alike. The tearoom offers both formal afternoon teas and casual dining with a British menu. Visitors can expect an elegant setting with silver cake stands, fine china, and staff dressed in period costumes.
Our friend who lived in Harrogate for years suggested we go to Betty's for tea and it didn't disappoint! There was a line outside but it moved quite fast and we were seated within ten minutes. I got the club sandwich and my husband got the afternoon tea. Everything was yummy and looked fantastic! The service was stellar and the decor was very nice inside. We really enjoyed the afternoon there! I would highly recommend it.
Monica B — Google review
Bettys afternoon tea was a delight. Been recommended by many people in the Harrogate area, so I took the wife. She absolutely loved it. She had the raspberry tea and me, the coffee. Sandwiches were good, scones were great, make sure you ask for more clotted cream and jam, you don’t have to pay extra, the cakes were delightful. Could do with a couple more though 😋 Unsure if extras, like additional cakes and sandwiches are free, some people around were getting additional, we were offered an additional sandwich which we took and it was not added to the bill, which was a nice surprise. Stunning tea room, clean decor. Love pianist playing in the corner of he room is a beautiful touch. Service was great, very attentive. Lena looked after us well. Overall, a highly recommended experience if you’re in the area. You can book online or queue up outside in the huge queue that is there daily!
Craig B — Google review
We were blown away by the friendly customer service, all the staff were superb especially Karen who popped back to our table to ask if we wanted any more sandwiches cakes or tea, which were all delicious. We didn't feel rushed at all, seated in the Imperial room we had already booked ahead. The rooms decor was extremely beautiful and the piano playing created an unique background to this special occasion.
Paula T — Google review
My wife having ordered online previously and seen the shop when last in Harrogate over 3 years ago had suggested we go in. Whilst an orderly queue was formed outside, we patiently waited for about 5 - 10 mins. Inside we were seated and served by attentive and professional staff. Ok, so we only had sandwiches, hot chocolate and gooey fat rascals - they were by far some of the nicest we have had.
Michael L — Google review
A must visit when you are in Harrogate even if you need to queue. The wait is not long. Betty's has a very cosy ambience. The menu is extensive and makes you want to try many dishes. We decided on the English breakfast including the vegan option. Accompanied by a pot each of Betty's tea blend and Breakfast tea. The desserts were yummy too (Engadine Torte and the Fruit Tart).
Huisze S — Google review
Queued around 20 mins to get in. Queue combers bring menus and a few little tasters from the shop which was nice. We got in and were given a table right in the window with peoples bottoms for eyes on us at all times. Maybe some privacy screening might be an idea. We were quite uncomfortable but staff were unable to help. The food and drink was nice, no complaints about quality and the price isn’t too bad considering. Staff are professional but rushed off their feet. Can’t help feeling they have jammed as many tables in as physically possible and you’re really paying for the name of Betty’s. The prices in the shop were extortionate. Won’t be rushing back. The location js ideal though with parking nearby and lots to do locally.
Lauren G — Google review
Absolutely fantastic, we had a great time. I have always wanted to go and our visit did not disappoint. The atmosphere was great we had the pianist near us adding to the ambience. The food was delicious. Our server was attentive, kind and friendly. It was our anniversary and our server made sure it was special. Would highly recommend a fabulous experience.
Ceri B — Google review
Very famous and iconic destination for tea, cakes, scones and hot food. We were a group of nine but split up into a 5 and 4 table. It gets very busy and there is an orderly queue outside. You have to wait in line before being seated. I think we waited for about 25mins before being taken into our table. The lady keeping things in check was very organised and on point, hats off to her as youd have to be. Once in, the restaurant was warm, and it didn't feel cramped. It was very well organised, the service was excellent. We were seated, and I think we probably waited another 7ish minutes before our order was taken. It was quite a big restaurant with seating all round the back and sides and I think there was a mezzanine level as well. The food was good. I had the avocado and poached egg on sourdough bread which was delicious. Accompanied with a pot of earl grey. My mum wife and friend had a mix of croquet monsieur, scone and a slice of coffee cake. Nice ambience. We didn't feel rushed and had a pleasant relaxing meal. Good experience, not the cheapest but you have to come. There's also a shop to the right as you come in selling, tea, coffee, scones, biscuits and totee bags etc. Rather expensive but we left with a lovely tin of spiced tea. Good all round experience, if youre not the patient type and not in a rush, then this is the place to come. I would probably go back with my wife and try more of the cakes.

Bird watching area

Nestled in a tranquil corner where the Lakeland Fells meet North Lancashire's rugged limestone coastline, RSPB Leighton Moss is a haven for bird enthusiasts and nature lovers. This expansive reserve features the largest reedbed in northwest England, providing a habitat for unique bird species like bitterns, bearded tits, and marsh harriers. Visitors can explore wheelchair-accessible trails and hides to observe diverse birdlife and possibly spot deer and butterflies.
Never been to a nature reserve nor an rspb one, made a long trip via train which entitles you to 50% off entry fee. We'll be worth the money. Plenty to see and ideal for people who love nature, wildlife and plants, in particular photographers like myself. Family, friends, groups, individuals suitable for all types of people and ages. Staff are very knowledgeable and friendly as well as inviting, which is marvellous. Recommended to all
Donna B — Google review
Great place to sit quietly and do a lot of nothing (except bird watching). A few well placed comfortable bird hides to spread yourselves around if you visit. Small RSPB shop though it has a good range of binoculars and scopes. Sadly I am always disappointed with the cafe .. Its OK, not good or great. Some very limited areas of the reserve are dog friendly as is the shop. Birdlife? Lots !!
David R — Google review
Went to see the bearded tits. Missed them in the morning due to an RTC on the motorway. 🙄 Caught them on the live feed camera in the restaurant however whilst having lunch! Saw plenty of other birds though so it wasn't a wasted journey. Marsh harrier, snipe, water rail, great white egret to name a few out of around 30 different species. Even saw an otter! Great day out for a tenner if you're not a member of RSPB and the restaurant has too much choice of cake!😋
Jane M — Google review
RSPB Leighton Moss is well laid out, with good wayfinding signs. The hides are excellent and there is too much to see in a single visit. There is free parking, although spaces are limited, comfort facilities, a cafe/ restaurant, and an RSPB shop.
Alan M — Google review
Well organised bird reserve with easy walking/wheelchair pathways to various hides and feeders. Large cafe with 2 and more seating/tables, serving hot and cold food and drinks. There's a stair lift to the cafe upstairs. We had a friendly welcome from Phil, signing up new members on arrival. There's also a shop selling gifts, clothing and accessories at reception. We particularly enjoyed going up to the viewing tower with panoramic views including of the reserve, lake, and Morecambe Bay itself. Parking is free across the road and toilets are at reception. We passed an ice cream stand and another with binoculars for sale once inside. There are benches and signs across the site. Paths open all hours and are suitable for strollers and wheelchairs. Check website for details and prices.
Peter G — Google review
We had a great day at the reserve yesterday. It was our first day as 'birdwatchers' and we loved every bit. Also got a rental binoculars for the day and after we got very good advice on which one to buy. Great!
Rob W — Google review
Wow oh wow fabulous morning spent at Leighton Moss, my first time, think I’ll be back !!! Spoilt with Bearded tits and great sunshine. Got to be up there as one of the Northwest’s best RSPB reserves. Obviously very popular as car park was rammed when I got back to my car to leave. Definitely get there early.
Phil M — Google review
Well worth the trip (from Glasgow!) Was fortunate enough to see the Bearded tits at the grit tables. Plenty of other wildlife around too; Otter & Marsh Harriers to name a couple. As always knowledgeable and friendly volunteers, will definitely be back!

Restaurant
Toft Gate Barn is a charming and quirky cafe located at The Bivouac at Ilton near Masham. It offers a cozy atmosphere where visitors can enjoy hot chocolate, play board games, and socialize with friends and family. The cafe also hosts special events, trails, and craft activities for guests to participate in. Visitors have praised the delicious lunch options such as quiche with homemade coleslaw and chutney, along with unique salads featuring ingredients like blueberries.
A Delightful Surprise at Toft Gate Barn in Harrogate On a recent journey to Pateley Bridge, we had the pleasure of stumbling upon Toft Gate Barn in, and what a wonderful surprise it was! This hidden gem is a must-visit for anyone in the area. The farm shop is absolutely fantastic, boasting an impressive array of fresh and locally sourced produce. From mouth-watering cuts of meat to an abundance of fruits and vegetables, the selection on offer is truly remarkable. The quality of the food is exceptional, and it's clear that great care has been taken to ensure that only the finest products are available for customers. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and more than happy to help with any queries or recommendations about the food, their passion for the produce they sell is evident and adds to the overall enjoyable experience of visiting the farm shop. As a food lover, I was in heaven as I explored the shelves, but the icing on the cake (quite literally) were the homemade cakes. An array of delicious treats awaited us in the cafe, each more enticing than the last. It's worth noting that if you plan on indulging in these delights, you might want to skip eating the night before, as the portion sizes are generous, and you'll want to save room to try as many as possible! The only minor criticism I have is the slight lack of parking available at the property. The farm shop and surrounding areas are considerably larger than the parking facilities on offer. This is, however, a small blemish on an otherwise fantastic experience, and I would still highly recommend a visit to Toft Gate Barn, Just make sure you arrive with an empty stomach!
Michael C — Google review
Set in a beautiful location with breathtaking views. Plenty of seating both inside and out, breakfast cooked to perfection. Not all the breakfast items were available. This has happened 2 times now. However, they did compensate by offering something in placement . Enjoyed a lovely capachino seated near a log fire, very cosy. Staff were very friendly, place is well maintained and clean
J A — Google review
We stayed in Pately Bridge for a couple of days and found Toft barn cafe on Google maps and decided to check it out. Well, we were not disappointed:) You enter into the farm shop , which sells meats, your local jams, honey , usual stuff then enter round the back into to cafe area. We decided to have 2 full English breakfasts and 2 lots of pancakes as I'd read these were very tasty. The breakfast was filling, fresh, hots and I enjoyed it very much. The kids ate all their pancakes and too said filling and very tasty. We overlooked the fields with sheep , quiet and secluded, just what I like. Plenty of seating area with an upper floor too. They also serve lunches , I hear were nice too The service was polite and we were thanked as we left. 100% recommended a drive out to this cafe Price was a little expensive, but for a hot, fresh breakfast, overlooking all the Greenery I was happy to pay it 👍
Gemma S — Google review
Busy little place, serving lovely homemade food. We popped in after a quick dog walk for tea & cake, and a cheeky plate of chips! Lovely place, friendly staff & nice food. We loved the ‘proper’ home style chips, reminds me of my Mum’s when I was a kid. Made me smile.😊

We had a fantastic breakfast and a lovely coffee. You can also buy the ingredients to the full English in the farm shop with a breakfast pack! Would highly recommend.

Northern Monk Refectory is a craft beer haven located in an industrial brewhouse with rotating pop-up food vendors and event space. Situated within the historic Monk Bar gatehouse, it offers the Richard III Experience, delving into the king's reign and life in 15th century York. The brewery's Old Flax Store beer garden is a popular spot in Leeds South Bank, featuring an award-winning Eternal Session IPA and hosting various street food takeovers.
Today I had both my best ever fish and chips and the best alc free larger. Big respect to the chef who put so much dedication and attention to detail into a stunning dish. It looked and tasted like a reinvention of a classic. The Peak Citra Lager was so tasty, I almost don’t want to drink proper lager anymore!
Thomas S — Google review
Already love the beer and the chilled atmosphere. But the current food offering is top tier: Indian inspired roast dinner was amazing. Tandoori chicken and Bombay inspired Yorkshire were delicious. Never hesitate to go back here. Accommodating for my gluten free family too!
Luke R — Google review
The staff here are always super friendly. They have interesting beers and are always willing to talk through recommendations with you. The venue is well laid out and feels relaxed and friendly. I've tried the food twice now and have had a poor experience both times. This time the cheesy chips were oily to the touch, lukewarm, and the cheese was hard and unmelted. The Oakra Fries were, again, oily and lacked bite. I've read other positive reviews of the food and so may just have been unlucky. For beer, for relaxing, for a wonderful sun-trap on a nice day - definitely a venue of choice. For something to eat - probably not.
Bryan W — Google review
The food was very tasty I had the gf chicken burger. The only issue was there was some plastic in my burger. Which I highlighted to the staff. We completed the total warrior and they had a deal on But for a beer and burger for £15 seems pretty expensive.
Luke — Google review
The refractory is on three levels. The ground floor is the brewing area. First floor is the bar and tap room and the second floor is for private events. The beers are great and the brewery tour is fantastic. Ed gave our brewery tour and he was very knowledgeable. Highly recommend it, worth every penny. The outdoor area is very cool
Maggie W — Google review
Nice little craft beer / brewery tap. A short stroll from the centre but worth it. Nice outside areas but not suitable for our February visit. Plenty of craft to choose from. Not many mainstream beers, mostly sours and fruity versions with a couple of pales on our visit. Still a good choice. Food looked superb. Traditional slightly surly craft bar staff.

Northern Monk is once again home to the amazing food from Jah Jyot and Grilling Me Softly. After talking to Ranie for so long, we finally got to try his food and meet him in person! He has teamed up again with Anthony, one of our favourite chefs in the business, so we knew this was going to be something special. The residency at Northern Monk was absolutely popping when we went and deservedly so. The menu is Indian inspired Street Food in the form of Flatbreads, Small Plates and Sides. We have heard nothing but great things about their Indian Sunday Roast so will be back for that! One word of advice, come here hungry as they arent messing around with the portion sizes. We ordered the Small Plates Platter and expected a taster of each of the small plates but you basically get each one! An absolutely great deal! I dont think i can justify in writing just how good this food is- it is absolutely delicious and ticks every box on taste, quality, presentation, ingredient pairings. Everything was just singing with bold flavours and we savoured every bite What we ordered Salt and Pepper Squid with Wasabi Aoili- I am always sceptical about ordering squid as so many times it comes out rubbery and soggy. This was absolutely not the case here- the Creole batter was cooked to the perfect level. It was super super crispy while managing to keep the squid inside nice and soft- it was also nicely seasoned too giving that classic salt and pepper vibes. The pairing Wasabi packed a real punch too and brought out the flavour of the squid more. Everything about this dish was perfectly balanced Jeets Chops- This is a nod to Ranie's dad and what a stunning dish it is. Locally sourced high quality Lamb Chops cooked pink and marinated in a range of herbs and spices. There was so much soft juicy tender meat on these little beauties and the pairing sharp green chutney worked so well to elevate the flavours further. Chicken Lollipops- Boy did these pack a punch with the aromatic firey spicy coating. They were really tasty and the meat was super juicy inside- definitely no dry chicken here. Brett loves a fried chicken dish and this one was no exception. The sweet sauce circling the plate worked really well too to cool down the heat of the crispy chicken skin Grilled Rump, Yorkshire Goats Curd, Pickles, Salsa Verde, Crispy Onion- Anthony cooks a mean steak with pairing sauce so we know this was definitely one of his dishes from the menu. This steak was cooked to perfection with a lovely soft buttery pink centre. Who knew Goats Cheese would be such a good compliment to steak- the tangy savoury creamy richness of the cheese works so well. The Salsa Verde was zesty and fresh and the onions added a nice crunch to the meat Khubha Aloo (Wild Mushroom, Punjabi Masala, Garlic and Coriander Mash) Wow this was such a warming bowl of goodness. We always say some of the best curries are the Vegetarian ones and this absolutely fit that theory. It was punchy with a subtle kick of heat and we loved the earthiness of the wild mushrooms. The pairing mash was gorgeous- creamy, rich and bursting with that floral zingy coriander flavour Faith Battered Colley (White Fish in Northern Monk Beer Batter with Dill and Samphire Tartar) Wow there was so much fish packed into these little chunks of goodness. It was excellent quality and so flakey soft. The batter was absolutely gorgeous- crispy, thick, flavourful and not greasy. The salty sharp creamy tartar was such a great dip for the fish bites. Such a moreish dish that we could have carried on eating

Nestled along the serene banks of the River Wharfe in the charming village of Burnsall, Riverbank Burnsall is a delightful independent café that beckons both locals and visitors alike. This cozy spot specializes in an array of homemade treats, including scrumptious cakes and pastries, alongside freshly baked sourdough ciabatta sandwiches and mouthwatering wood-fired pizzas. The café not only offers excellent food but also serves up good coffee with stunning views of the surrounding Yorkshire Dales.
Lovely place to have a pint or a meal. We had a perfect lunch out on the river and the food was great. You can go in and order but scanning the qr code at the table was fast and easy. Moments later a cheerful young woman brought out our drinks and shortly after our meal.

Just discovered this great little cafe. Open all year Thursday to Sunday each week evidently. Good coffee and great food. Definitely worth a look. Proper cycle parking is a bonus. Updated February 2024 - still open end of the week, closed from Monday to Wednesday. Excellent choice of cakes. Limited but good hot options. Very pleasant staff. Recommended.

Excellent food/cake offer and good coffee with a view. The place is run as local community effort to cater for tourists in the area and people involved are providing great quality service. I took 1 star away from full score because of the facilities. The toilet is only the public one outside of the café building and parking is pay only. £1 per hour is ok but a bit annoying when the paying website isn't loading and I had payment pending even after we left.

Just a lovely friendly little cafe serving excellent coffee and a good choice of sandwiches from 'posh' bacon, vegetarian and vegan, as well as warm sausage rolls and a good selection of delicous looking homemade cakes! I am coeliac and pescatarian so I had the vegetarian sandwich served with a very nice gluten free roll - and a coffee with oat milk! They are very good on their choices for people with allergens and other dietry requirements, but they don't always have everything in stock esp after a busy weekend! (No gluten free bread on the Saturday or Sunday of the BH weekend!) But an excellent place to stop, with both indoor and outdoor seating! And of course with a beautiful view across the River Wharfe!

Although a long journey from Manchester, yet the sunny weather made it win win situation. Although parking is a bit dear. However, the overall experience was great. The depth of water is walkable. So the whole family enjoyed. The toilets and nearby cafe closes at 1700 Hrs so plan the trip accordingly.

Nestled in the charming village of Ingleton, Bernie's Cafe Bar is a delightful haven for both adventurers and food lovers alike. This beloved spot is renowned for its scrumptious homemade scones topped with cream, hearty bacon sandwiches, and comforting soups that warm you up after a day on the Ingleton Trail. As the oldest restaurant in town, it boasts a rich history alongside its delicious offerings.
Had 2 mugs of hot steaming tea & a ‘slice’ of tasty ginger cake, which I would actually describe as a huge chunk! Dogs welcome - staff were friendly and brought my dog some treats over, which she enjoyed. Nice atmosphere & reasonable prices. Would recommend.

Stopped by for lunch on a rainy day. Great atmosphere with the log burner keeping the place cosy. Had the panini and soup deal. It was very tasty with lots of different options available.

Recently reopened under new management. Good food, friendly staff who are happy to explain dietary requirements etc, lots of gluten free options including paninis, some vegan options too.

Honestly a must visit when you're in Ingleton. There's a good reason it's the oldest restaurant. Food was incredibly tasty and with a homemade feel. Chips were some of the finest I've tasted. If you like spicy then also make sure to order some of their own hot sauce.

Exceptional breakfast, bacon salty and thick, eggs poached, sausages herby. The staff were friendly even though they were busy. Coffee was good quality and the atmosphere friendly. Would highly recommend.

Best hot chocolate I've had in ages. I had the pulled pork Panini which was on the specials board. All the cakes looked lush so I got one to take away. The girl behind the counter was lovely. Would definitely go again!

Soup n sandwich: soup bowl half full so finished in about three spoonfuls, sandwich is basically slapping ham n shredded cheese in cold bread. They did toast the sandwich after we asked, and made such a huge difference. Wrong choice of order, not good value. Vege breakfast: nicely presented, tad small for the price. Maybe inflation.

The establishment has garnered a loyal following and boasts a cozy atmosphere that invites visitors to savor their delicious offerings.
Passed this bakery and decided to stop in on way back past. What a great decision that was. Absolutely delicious. Good stock of breads, pastries and cakes. The sausage rolls were very meaty and the black pudding scotch eggs were super tasty too. Obviously cakes were eaten too!! Vanilla slice was sublime. Sadly we didn’t get chance to pop again but next time we are visiting if will be on the agenda to visit again to grab lunch. Plenty of seating outside and some small tables and chairs inside so you can enjoy a cuppa and a side or 2.

Seasons Bakery is one of those unexpected finds on a holiday. We went back every day for either a takeaway breakfast or sit in. The sausage rolls, sandwiches, cakes and bread are all delicious. The staff are all very friendly and welcoming.

We stopped in here a few times whilst staying in the area. Lovely small bakery with a big selection of cakes, tray bakes and pies/pastries. We really enjoyed their bacon butties (which had plenty of bacon in and were a good price) The latte I had was one of the best coffees I've had for ages. Perfect hot temperature and smooth flavour that wasn't too strong. Their scones were really nice, and I got a piece of the giant carrot cake (special) which was amazing. Had such strong flavours and was very rich. The people serving were really friendly. I'm glad I don't live nearby or I'd be here all the time!

Cute little bakery with lots of sweet and savoury baked goods. We were spoilt for choice. The only reason this review loses a star is because the staff weren’t that friendly. They seemed quite stressed. There is wooden benches outdoors where we sat which was lovely in the sunny weather

Was given the Seasons Bakery as a suggestion to pick up some sandwiches after a walk around Ribblehead Viaduct. It was amazing so much more than a bakery, beautiful breads, luscious cakes, tasty sandwiches and pies and sausages rolls etc. There would be something for every time of day and everyone! Maybe because we were already hungry our eyes were definitely bigger than our belly so we bought the one of the best ever toasted sandwiches we have ever had (the other was from a place in Scotland) and some halloumi fries (which were most substantial) and a sausage roll. We only managed half of everything and ate it later for tea and although cold still delicious. We are going to make a detour pass on our way home 😊. Staff were friendly and welcoming. We sat outside because it was a very warm day but had a lovely seating area inside where you could chat and eat cake very comfortably.

I ordered onion rings and chicken wings for collection and when I arrived to collect the staff was rude especially one man. The chicken wings were raw and not cooked. Only good experience about my late night snacks I ordered was the free chocolate cake I got as I spent more then £10

Shocking service tonight! I ordered two waffles and a milkshake and drove six miles home only to find they had given me one waffle and an EMPTY BOX! I called the shop, only to be told that the boss was away and they couldn’t issue a refund. Instead, they offered me free items, so I had to drive another six miles back. When I arrived, I was left waiting while staff tripped over each other, struggling to manage orders and still received nothing just £7 after been stern. They clearly prioritise online orders but can’t keep up with them, leading to serious service issues. After reading other reviews, it seems I’m not the only one with a bad experience. I won’t be returning, and I’ll be contacting Trading Standards about this unacceptable service.

Absolutely disgraceful service. The staff were extremely disrespectful and discriminatory to an african family who had brought their 3 year old in with some other chikdren for ice cream. As children do they were excited waiting for their desert. To my absolute fear and disgust the staff member then proceeded to attempt to film the child on their personal phone without consent to which the parents challenged, as legally you cannot film any child without consent. Then a rude obnoxious young eomsn who claimed to be a manager but clearly has not been educated in management threatened the mother who politely challenged with the police .My recommendation is for anyone with any self respect and dignity to nit eat at this overpriced backstreet cash and carry where staff don't wash their hands and touch your food and attempt to film innocent children without consent or warning. I have reported this pathetic place for gdpr breach .The only reason they have 1 star is because you have to at least put 1 to review otherwise my real score for them is ZERO do not waste your money here !

Was disappointed with our last order two or three weeks ago as the Mango and Passion fruit milkshake wasn't as good! The apple pie was good but not a lot of custard! It's disappointing as it's always been five stars until now! I have Had takeaways from here more than a few times times. The Mango and Passion fruit Gelato Shake was amazing! The strawberry milkshake yummy. The French Vanilla milkshake really good. Most of the milkshakes are great not tried all!

Grantley Hall is a luxurious country house hotel located around 4 miles from Ripon on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales. The 17th-century mansion boasts elegant rooms and suites, five restaurants, and three bars. The hotel's Michelin-starred Shaun Rankin restaurant offers fine dining using regional ingredients. Additionally, it features a spa with a pool for relaxation. Guests can enjoy afternoon tea in the Main Hall with an array of treats created by the expert pastry team.
Out of all the hotels I’ve visited in the UK, this one blows them all out of the water. The food, service, ambience, location and overall standards are out of this world. The most friendly and professional service I’ve ever experienced. This hotel is a luxury retreat at its finest. Me and my wife will definitely return annually. Ricardo who works front of house was a pleasure and joy to deal with, although I can’t fault any of the staff here. Definitely would recommend a visit.
AS W — Google review
On Sunday, when we arrived, we were warmly welcomed. Even before reaching the entrance, two hotel staff members were waiting with umbrellas as it had just started to rain. At the reception, we were greeted very kindly, guided through the check-in process, and informed about what was included in our stay. A little while after we settled into our room, my husband realized we had forgotten to bring a charger. He tried calling the reception, but unfortunately, no one answered the phone despite several attempts. Eventually, he went downstairs, where three staff members were present at the desk but appeared unoccupied. We felt a bit disappointed that, in such a prestigious hotel, our calls were ignored. We had a dinner reservation at Restaurant Eighty-Eight, where the service was truly outstanding. The experience was a wonderful culinary journey that delighted our taste buds. We also booked a wine pairing option, which complemented the dishes beautifully. It was absolutely fantastic. The next morning, breakfast was included in our stay. The food was exquisite, and the staff very kind. However, all the guests, and there were quite a few of us, were seated in a very small room at the far end. There was no sense of privacy, and every conversation was audible—it felt like we were all crammed together. Meanwhile, the other rooms leading up to that one were completely empty. I believe guests should be divided among different rooms to ensure more privacy. It seemed as though the staff had chosen this arrangement to save time and effort with cleaning. After breakfast, we spent nearly half the day at the spa, which was a fantastic experience. There were two great saunas—one outdoors and one indoors—as well as a steam room and a snow room, staff there were very friendly. The only thing I missed under the shower was a hair conditioner. In addition, in the men’s changing room, larger flip-flop sizes than 40 should be available, as well as slightly bigger bathrobes. Other than that, everything was perfect. Overall, we are satisfied with our stay. I hope the managers will take note of my review and make some improvements.

Where can I begin with this dream! If I could give 7 stars I would. We have stayed in many 5 stars all over the world, I can firmly put this in the top 3. From the moment we arrived, Grantley Hall was a sensational experience. Issac holding the fort at the front gate, dressed impeccably, welcomed us like family and with so much energy it was like a shot of espresso! The valet boys were incredible and highly professional and helped us park directly outside of the hotel. Ricardo on the front desk is a seasoned professional, with a classic and luxury approach to his work which we highly appreciated. He welcomed us with so much care and directed every detail of our stay. A true credit to Grantley Hall, again, impeccably dressed which is always so nice to see. The hotel itself is magestic and huge. Very clean and every detail has been considered. Our room was perfect, fully amenatized and beautifully furnished. Underfloor heating in our bathroom was wonderful in the morning! We dined at Fletchers - a team of consumate professionals with enough Northern charm to take you to the moon and back! The beef wellington was world class and the lighting and ambiance was perfect. The wonderful hostess of Fletchers was absolutley perfect and made our experience so heartfelt and memorable. The gentleman who served us at breakfast was so professional and kind, another example of the stellar talents at Grantley Hall. Spa is world class also. This hotel is special and magical!!

We visited Grantley Hall to celebrate Simon’s birthday and it was truly a magical experience from start to finish. The 8-course tasting menu was absolutely out of this world – every dish was a work of art and bursting with flavour. The service was exceptional throughout; attentive, warm, and seamless. We also spent time in the spa and enjoyed a few blissful hours of total relaxation – the perfect way to unwind in such a serene setting. A truly special place for an unforgettable celebration. We can’t wait to return.

What a place. From the beautiful setting to the warm, thoughtful service – everything about Grantley Hall is just next level. The room was stunning, the food was unreal, and the spa was exactly what I needed to fully switch off. It’s luxury without the fuss – elegant but relaxed. I left feeling completely looked after and already dreaming about my next visit. Highly recommend!

This was our second visit after discovering Grantley when we began our Aston Martin Highlands Tour there in June. It offers opulence, peace, tranquility and the finest dining experiences imaginable. The most outstanding aspect of this gorgeous place though is the absolute master class in customer service. Every staff member is professional, friendly and helpful. They really listen to your replies to their conversational questions and tailor your stay accordingly. There is no queuing to check in. Every guest is greeted with the offer to sit in the bar with a welcome drink as a member of the reception team sits with them to simply double check details already provided online and get a signature. Use of the spa is accommodated a few hours before check in official time and a couple of hours after checkout so there is ample opportunity to use the beautifully presented services. On this occasion it was our anniversary and we were thrilled to receive an impressive room upgrade. Regardless of that however our stay was total perfection and from our previous experience I know it would have been so in any of the glorious rooms. Thanks to all at Grantley once again. We shall be back.

A Truly Memorable Day at Grantley Hall! My family and friends are all fairly regular visitors to the stunning Grantley Hall, and as a professional makeup artist, I’ve also had the pleasure of visiting for work on several occasions. Today, however, was extra special—a mother-daughter day out to celebrate my incredible mum’s birthday—and I felt compelled to share just how wonderful our experience was. From the moment we arrived, the level of care and attention we received made the day feel truly magical. We were warmly welcomed by Lucy, whose radiant energy and genuine warmth were evident from the start. Her enthusiasm, kindness, and ever-present smile made us feel instantly at ease. She took time to help us decide where to dine and checked in on us throughout the day, always with the same joyful spirit. Lucy is, without question, an absolute credit to the team. Over in the Norton Bar, we were looked after by George, who impressed us with his knowledge and attentiveness. He ensured we were well cared for and even took the time to chat with my mum about their shared love of music—a lovely, personal touch that made our visit all the more memorable. As the day unfolded, we chose to dine at Eighty Eight, and from the moment we walked in, Ben, the front-of-house host, made us feel incredibly welcome. Professional, warm, and gracious, Ben elevated our evening with his charm and attention to detail. Even the parting conversation as we left left a lasting impression—he truly embodies the excellence of Grantley Hall. The taster menu at Eighty Eight was nothing short of sensational. As seasoned lovers of fine dining, my mum and I have experienced many remarkable meals, but this was on another level. The creativity, flavor combinations, and execution of every dish blew us away. It’s hard to put into words just how extraordinary the food was—we will be dreaming of those dishes for a long time to come! We were served by So, whose knowledge and passion for the cuisine were evident in the way he described each dish with care and enthusiasm. His service was impeccable and added a deeper appreciation for the artistry behind the food. We were also looked after by a wonderful lady whose name we sadly didn’t catch, but her energy and zest were infectious—we absolutely adored her. A special mention also goes to Victoria, the sommelier, whose expertise and insight were truly impressive. Her depth of knowledge was fascinating, and our conversation with her was another highlight of the evening. She was an absolute pleasure to meet. Life is made up of moments shared with loved ones, and today—thanks to the exceptional team at Grantley Hall—was one of those moments we’ll cherish. To Lucy, George, Ben, So, Victoria, and the rest of the wonderful staff whose names we didn’t get, thank you. Your warmth, professionalism, and genuine care made my mum’s birthday utterly perfect. We are so grateful, and we cannot wait to return.

We didn't stay at Grantley Hall but did go for an evening Spa & dine. We did go into the main building for a drink beforehand though and wow this place is stunning. Very high end hotel, everything was immaculate. The staff were so attentive and couldn't do more for you. The grounds are stunning and very well kept. They even play music around the grounds so when your walking around it adds to the experience. Food was very tasty. Portion sizes were more than I was expecting (fine dining places tend to be small portions in my opinion). They even surprised me with a birthday card and after the meal a dessert for my Bday. Spa was immaculate, probably the best I've been too. Not busy at all so was easy to get a bed to relax. The cold plunge was 💀. The only thing I would have liked is a bit more time in the spa (think we got about 1hr 30. Overall excellentexperience. Definitely recommend it to anyone.

Amber weather warning in place with heavy rains so we set off early in case of diversions needed as 2.5hr drive. Arrived 50 mins early and sat in car. They kindly came out to say they could set up for us early and we were welcome to go in. Lovely Shepherds hut with fabulous views down the valley, imagine even better on a clear day. All of the lovely treats homemade and fantastic flavours, such variety - a lot of thought and care had gone into these. Had a fabulous afternoon tea this afternoon at Betty's Vintage hut. Everything was top notch … beautiful setting ( and luckily the thunderstorm which was threatened didn’t materialise 😜). The food was amazing, all home made lots of variety and as much tea/coffee as we could drink ❤️ Anne’s attention to detail was spot on and she couldn’t do enough for us without feeling intrusive. A little bird tells me Christmas starts 1st November in the hut so we will be back. Thank you so much Anne … what a star 🌟

We went for afternoon tea and it was the best I have ever had. The host was incredible, checking if we needed any top ups etc throughout. The cakes were all home made and were delicious - the homemade rhubarb jam was my favourite! I am a vegetarian and was catered to without an issue. The icing on the cake (literally!) was the birthday cake she supplied. Which was both delicious and gorgeous! We were offered to take away what we couldn’t eat in boxes. The shepherds hut is decorated so sweetly and everything was clean, plus the views here are absolutely unmatched. Definitely recommend 🥰 10/10

We were a little early and offered a table in the garden which was readily accepted and here we stayed to enjoy the view. Anne welcomed us and went through all the delightful looking savouries and cakes on our afternoon tea. It was all so delicious and we devoured it all and there was plenty, we did not require a doggie box to take home which was offered prior to tucking in. Sundaes Gelato is a dessert shop with 36 different flavours of ice cream to choose from. The ice cream is handmade fresh each day and the staff are friendly and good hygiene is ensured. They also serve some amazing burgers and pizzas as well.
You definatly get your moneys worth here. There are many diferent icecream, crepe and waffle options. The portion sizes are huge so you can ether challenge your self or share with a friend. The place its self is layed out very well and has cumfertuble booths ranging in size for a small group or a large group. I would say that the best thing about the seeting arangments is that when it is hot weather they open some glass doors at the front so you can sit and enjoy the weather while eating. I think the only down side would be that they dont have very good parking facilities.

Absolute heaven on Earth. The best milkshakes in Headingley! The desserts are delicious, the wings are great and the pizza may be expensive, but it completely worth it for a treat. If you have not been here, go, you are missing out big time!

Lovely place, really open, and plenty of staff to keep any queues moving (and they are popular do queues can happen). Awesome selection of ice-cream flavours for those that like to mix and match. If we find ourselves in Headingley again we'll be going here.

Waffle review: I gave it 5 because I think it should be 4.3 but it’s 4.1 in the time I’m writing this review, and here’s why it’s 4.3 : The waffle in general is so good 👌🏻 well made and good amount of chocolate, really good , but it could’ve been better if two things were Changed, the first is the chocolate type , it’s more of a sugary and milk chocolate more than it should be , like a little bit darker ( more dark chocolate percentage) it would be amazing. The second thing is the cooking time , it’s well cooked but if it was cooked 10-20 seconds Less it would be much better. Other than these two things it’s almost a heaven , hope they change Thanks for the good waffle 👌🏻 keep the good work

Love this place! We ordered a knickerbocker glory sundae and a shake and we were super impressed. Fast delivery, friendly driver, and the sundae came in a compartmentalised box to put together yourself once arrived so it wasn’t messy in transit! Amazing place, will use again :)

Ordered a “Milky Way latte” , tasted like warm milk in a cup , with no flavour. Would not recommend. Staff were averagely friendly. The overall experience was mediocre, but after the latte, I would strongly recommend staying clear of the hot beverage section, as they are not up to scratch

Ordered Belgium chocolate pancakes which stated in the description that it was only chocolate sauce - came full of bananas which unfortunately I’m allergic too, to then call for a replacement and they just weren’t bothered at all!

Every member of staff are stood on there phones apart from a child working here who looks 10! The last time i came in a lad who worked here was sat on the area where food is prepped! The attitudes of some of the staff is very rude, they need to get off there phones!, then they gave me the wrong order and when i took it back a member of staff rolled his eyes and stomped off! Well thats what happens when a child taking orders! I spoke to a lady who works there and she said that shes been running around all day and the other member of staff who is always on the phone doesnt do much unless the boss comes in!

The shop provides high-quality local beef and lamb with guaranteed provenance. Their signature product, Cockett's Rockets, makes for a tasty addition to any dish. Great butchers, high quality meat, excellent service. Live in Suffolk but holiday once a year in the Dales and always use this butchers when we come up. Much better than any butchers in Suffolk. Best venison and duck I’ve ever had this December. Thank you
Jackie P — Google review
We have been visiting the Dales, in particular this area for well over 15 years. We always make an effort to get out baked goods and meat from here. Always. It's a place we make a bee line for. However on Tuesday of this week we bought some chicken thighs and wings. The thighs were given to us from the freezer. I'll admit, I never thought to check the date. But when we got back and went to use them the following day (24 hours), we were greeted with a pungent smell from the thighs and they were sticky and green. It was then we noticed the they were out of date according to their labelling. Which turns out is illegal. Now we still love this butchers. But this is a bit dodge and potentially very dangerous. I'm thinking the tall standing freezer needs a good thorough check over of its stock.

Great place to get lunch for walking the hills. Plenty of pies and slices. Cakes are excellent. Walkers should stock up on the cakes for their afternoon tea as most cafes in the area are closed by the time you've finished on the hills. Lived the Eccles cakes & Fat Rascals

Really lovely butchers ans great choice. Went here for a savory as they looked too good to miss. Little pork pies were incredible and had a steak and veg pattie which was also beautiful. Pork scratchings were to die for and the fairy cakes were beautiful when paired with a good yorkshire cuppa. Lovely butchers.

The service from polite and courteous staff is rated highly, while the coffee tastes amazing.
Lovely cakes and food, coffees taste amazing. Had afternoon tea with unlimited brews for me and my friend for £19. Not tasted cakes so good before!

Went here for afternoon tea, due to the sudden announcement of stores closing leaving only an express one in Manchester, the closest option for us was this one in Preston (we planned to go to the one in Bury two days after the announcement, but a day out Preston was fun, so swings and roundabouts). Was worth the rail fair, very nice food, which was just enough for two people. We requested some changes to the sandwiches which wasn't a problem (we swapped one option for two lots of ham without mustard). It doesn't say on the menu but you can order hot chocolate as well as any tea or coffee and get as many refills as you want. It is such a shame that PV has been mismanaged and could soon be gone from the high street. £20 for afternoon tea for 2 is very good value all things considered. Staff were all friendly and attentive. Only negative, given the cold weather outside, when the door to outside was opened there was a freezing cold draft that covered every part of the seating area, a design flaw for sure, though it soon heated up again once the door had closed.
Matt R — Google review
Usually good, but staff hit and miss. Despite sitting next to a sign about how high their customer service is the staff are hit and miss and often have an attitude of appearing not to care. No food ordered was bought to table on our last visit. Although the cappuccino was very good as usually is. Was not particularly busy but still managed to not live up to their signs on customer service

I ordered a custom half birthday/half Christmas cake for my mum, and I am over the moon with the result. Jodie is so creative and skilled, and I will totally recommend/order again. My mum cried when she saw the cake and couldn't believe how incredible it looked. And it tasted gorgeous too. Nothing was too much trouble and I am so pleased with the whole process. Thanks so much, you're amazing!

Not a typical T1D day ❤️ I ordered this box of fabulous goodies from Jodie as a weekend treat. She didn’t disappoint. The box is filled with gooey goodness. All made in house. £15 for a random box. Her Bespoke cakes are just as fabulous. Previously I ordered a fabulous celebration cake for my husband. I didn’t give her much notice and she pulled together the most amazing cake.

Emailed Jodie about a month prior to my boyfriends birthday to ask if she could make some Leeds United cupcakes for me for my other half’s birthday. Jodie was prompt to reply throughout the process and lovely to communicate with. Payment was easy by bank transfer and well priced. I messaged Jodie the day before I had planned to pick them up and again she was really prompt to reply - everything went as planned and I picked them up this morning. I didn’t give any direction to Jodie or show any inspiration pics I just left her to do her magic and she did not disappoint! Will 100% use her and her company again- thanks lovely!

Nestled in the picturesque market town of Leyburn, Eastfield Lodge Guest House is an elegant retreat ideal for group accommodations. This charming Victorian residence boasts eight well-appointed bedrooms and offers a blend of luxury and comfort, making it perfect for reunions, weddings, or outdoor adventures like walking and cycling. Guests can enjoy a warm welcome from hosts Henry and Penny, who are dedicated to ensuring your stay is memorable.
I have stayed in the main lodge with a family group where Henry and Penny were excellent hosts. Arranging walks, cooking delicious meals and on hand to advise on the area. Nothing too much trouble. Bedrooms are so comfortable and beds especially give an excellent nights sleep. I’ve also stayed in a self catered apartment all fitted out with everything you need for your weekend away and a great base for exploring the local area. Highly recommend you get in touch and discuss your stay as they will love planning with you so you have a memorable stay.

We booked Eastfield Lodge, The Holt and The Den for our wedding party and it was absolutely perfect. Henry and Penny were so accommodating and made everyone feel right at home. The spaces were beautifully kept, well equipped and ideal for a group celebration. Everything was thought of and nothing was too much trouble. We’re so glad we chose to stay here and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to others.
Matt M — Google review
I'd met Penny previously on a Trek so knew the walks would be top notch as she is the best at what she does. When arriving at the lodge I was blown away at how beautiful and welcoming it is! Penny and Henry have thought of everything. The beds were so comfy, the place was spotless and the breakfast was sublime! I asked for a veggie breakfast (as I normally just have 1 option from a menu) and I was met with 'which one would you like'... Amazingly delicious veggie food (thank you Henry 😊) I'd say it was like home from home as I felt so at ease there but my home isn't as fantastic as the lodge. The bar was a great place to gather and the living room was a place where a big group of us could chat or play games. The walks were planned so well and showed the best of the beauty in the area. I can't wait to go again. You will not regret booking here as Penny and Henry will look after you and you'll all have the BEST time ever x
Emma R — Google review
There is not a single thing about our stay at Eastfield Lodge that was anything less than 5*. I stayed as part of a group and both Penny and Henry were welcoming and attentive. The Lodge itself is beautiful and impeccably clean. The perfect setting for friends to chill in the lounge area with a fire, eat or play games in the large dining room, make food in the big and well kitted out kitchen or catch up over a cocktail in the bar room. The bedrooms were pristine with beautiful views from ours at the front, each with their own bathroom and tea/coffee making facilities. And the breakfast was out of this world - the options were extensive and we found ourselves having a fry up every day but with excellent options for veggie and vegan too. On the Saturday Penny guided us for a walk in the dales and she was fun, knowledgeable and made the day a delight. I'm already looking at dates to book with other groups later this year for a long weekend - cannot recommend this place highly enough!

This a wonderful place for a break. We booked the Den and Holt for 2 nights as weee doing a tour of the UK. Having driven over from Chester we were warmly welcomed by Henry, who was a super host getting us settled in . The Den and Holt were spotless and the sheets and linen top quality too. The shower was brilliant and really powerful . Who would have thought the owner would leave out FRESH coffee ? Well here they did ! Henry was great giving advice as to where to go to, our favourite was the Blue Lion in East Witton. Easy Giles is super dog friendly too ( we paid an additional charge ) , but treats and a water bowl were left out . This is a fabulous find and very very quiet. Quiet hours are 22.00 to 08.30 and so refreshing to see this in place. If you’re looking for peace and tranquility this is the place to go to . You won’t be disappointed either. Also Henry was on hand to answer any queries . Nothing was too much . Bravo Henry and Penny . We will return !

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Eastfield Lodge Guest House for two nights with a group of friends, and I can't emphasise enough how fantastic our experience was! From the moment we arrived, the warm and welcoming atmosphere made us feel right at home. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, going above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. Our rooms were spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated, offering all the amenities we could ask for. The location was ideal, providing easy access to local attractions and stunning views of the surrounding area. We especially loved the cozy common areas, where we gathered to relax and share stories after our day’s adventures. Each morning, we were treated to a delicious breakfast that catered to everyone's tastes, setting us up for a day of exploration. Overall, Eastfield Lodge Guest House exceeded our expectations in every way. If you’re looking for a comfortable and enjoyable place to stay with friends, I wholeheartedly recommend it. We will definitely be returning for another stay with Penny & Henry!

Has been refurbished to a very high standard. Bathrooms are roomy and beautifully finished (see photos - apologies for quality, I was in a rush on departure day 😊). The hosts, Henry and Penny are very welcoming and friendly. I was on a walking trip organised by Collett's - we had breakfast, packed lunch and supper - all were excellent quality with a good range of vegan/vegetarian options. Our walk leader was Penny, who was very knowledgeable about the area, and excellent at talking to everyone on the walk and ensuring no-one got left behind (I attach 3 photos from the walks) Greg (Collett's Walking Trip 28.4.2025)

Frankie responded promptly to my initial email asking about wedding cakes, & provided clear & concise details concerning options ( we decided to go for cupcakes with a few different flavours) & prices. She was extremely accommodating of our unusual request for wedding cupcakes, & was even able to decorate the cupcakes with gothic icing to fit with the theme of the wedding. I did not feel embarrassed or awkward making our unusual request. The cakes were divine, & were a big hit at the reception. It's a popular spot for locals and visitors alike, especially for walkers and cyclists exploring the Yorkshire Dales.
Bustling cafe right in the centre, with plenty to choose from. GF options are good too! Considering it was lunchtime and busy, the food arrived after 10 minutes, and was lovely. It is a fairly big place so can get a bit noisy during school holidays!

I recently visited Ye Olde Naked Man Café in Settle, and it was a delightful experience! The cozy and welcoming atmosphere made it the perfect spot to take a break and enjoy a classic tea and cake combination. I had a tea that was perfectly brewed—rich, comforting, and served just right. It paired beautifully with the lemon cake, which was light, moist, and full of zesty flavor. Every bite had the perfect balance of sweetness and citrusy freshness, making it an absolute treat. The service was friendly and efficient, and the café itself had a charming character that added to the experience. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick bite or a leisurely afternoon treat, Ye Olde Naked Man Café is a must-visit in Settle. I’ll definitely be returning!

We passed through Settle on a day out and decided to get some breakfast before heading to our destination. The atmosphere was comfortable, relaxed, and welcoming even though we weren't local. The breakfast was delicious so much so that we decided to grab our lunch for later from the attached sandwich shop and bakery. The sandwiches and sausage rolls were fresh and delicious, and the custard slice was to die for. My only regret is that we don't live closer to visit more often. If we are ever up that way again, we would happily detour to visit this amazing establishment.

A wonderful cafe and bakery nestled in the middle of Settle. Massive range of freshly baked goodness both sweet and savoury, excellent choice of sandwiches and hot meals. Me and my partner stayed in Settle over 4 days and before each hike into the hills, we made a point of visiting the cafe to stock up with cake, drinks, and freshly prepped takeaway sandwiches. Always got a warm welcome from the staff. Would hugely recommend visiting. Will make a point of visiting again when we're next in the neighbourhood ❤️💚☺️

Just happened in for breakfast one morning and were very pleased. The barista (owner perhaps?) is an espresso genius! The porridge, pastries and eggs were all a delight. So much of a delight, that we returned the next morning, as did some of our tablemates from the day before. We were delighted to catch the barista for a few minutes about his favourite recommended spots in the Lake District later that day.

We’ve been here a few times now and always have a lovely experience. The service is quick and friendly, and although it’s always been busy when we’ve visited, we’ve always managed to get a table. I really recommend the paprika scone and the hummus and falafel wrap! There is also a nice small menu for younger children.
Pippa B — Google review
A charming little tea room. The menu has a fairly broad range with quite a few choices for vegans and vegetarians. The menu is clearly labelled for those on a Gluten Free diet. Prices are a little on the steep side, which is what you'd expect for Grassington. The food arrived in good time and we all said how tasty the soup was. The falafel wrap also got a good verdict. The single toilet was clean. There are a few steps inside, but has level access to the main part of the bistro.

100% recommend. I visited multiple times during a short break staying in the area. Great vegan options. I was sold on my first visit when I saw four different vegan cakes were available! Breakfast, lunch and snack options are great, and the staff are really lovely. Had a good natter, and even recommended other places to visit. The place is dog friendly too! If/when I'm back in the area, I'll be paying another return visit.
Ruth L — Google review
Absolutely delicious food, very friendly service and free customer WiFi if you ask for the password at the till, which was handy as we had no reception at all on our phones. Food was prepared fresh so a short wait for food when we were there at a busy lunch time. We especially enjoyed the falafel wrap and soup of the day. One toilet which was popular so had a queue a lot of the time. I would love to give 5 stars overall, if only for the welcome we received, but the prices were definitely steep for the amount of food served. It was all great quality, no doubt using good produce, but the portion in the kids fish goujons and chips was so comically meagre, it even had our 4 year-old commenting on how it wasn't very big for £6.40. Same could be said for the size of the wrap + chips for £10. We'd come back if we're looking for a bit of a treat, but travellers on a budget might want to look elsewhere (though it does seem to be par for the course in Grassington).

Bakery
Walker’s Bakery is a popular spot located on Main Street in Grassington. Despite its popularity, it's not overcrowded with usually only a few people in line. The bakery offers amazing Easter treats, bread, sandwiches, pies, cakes, and jacket potatoes with various fillings. Their delicious sausage sandwiches are highly recommended for fueling up before an active day. The friendly staff and locally sourced products add to the appeal of this cracking little bakery shop that attracts both locals and visitors alike.
Great place to buy bread and roll in white, brown and granary. £3 for 6 large rolls is not cheap however they are very light not stodgy and last for a few days. Excellent service

While on holiday at Bolton Abbey, We took the bus to Grassington been here numerous times over the years, But while here this time needed to get a loaf of bread so decided to try this local bakery . Wasn’t disappointed we were served by a lovely member of staff who offered to slice the loaf for me I declined as I like to cut my own bread and while we were there thought we would treat ourselves to something nice I had a Yorkshire Pasty which was absolutely delicious, My wife had a mars bar crunchy cake type of confectionery. Which she also really enjoyed. And looking around at the other delicious items for sale the prices were very reasonable as well. The bakery was very busy serving customers so that shows how popular this Bakery is. If I lived here I would most definitely be using this bakery couple of times a week. Highly recommended .

Quite possibly the worst baked goods I've ever had, especially at £2.25 each - chocolate eclair and vanilla slice: both pastries were stale and hard, chocolate on the eclair was tasted more like cocoa powder and icing sugar, filled with over whipped cream, custard from slice was claggy and flavourless. Staff member was barely able to grunt hello. Would not recommend this bakery at all. A very disappointing and expensive mistake.

Had 2 rolls made up which were fine, but as for service it was atrocious, I've never been attend to by such a miserable person as she. An assistant from cafe asked to borrow some granary rolls, when asked by cafe staff "hasn't made you short has it" grumpy said " I don't care if it does, it's ☆☆☆☆fault for not ordering enough" very unpleasant lady

Lovely little bakery with a great selection. I got a loaf of bread which they sliced for me, and a couple of sweet treats. All the food was lovely and the staff member who served me was great.

Amazing sandwiches, pies and cakes. Jacket potatoes with various fillings also available. Very popular with both locals and visitors. Friendly staff.

VERY POOR SERVICE. The lady behind the counter was extremely rude and condescending, however food was good for the price, shame I wasn’t ordering through a robot instead.
Bea T — Google review
Surprisingly unfriendly and brusque lady serving, and apparently fresh scones definitely weren't.....
