Farmers Markets
Harvest Market is a lively and communal farmers' market that takes place every Saturday morning in the heart of Launceston. This food-focused event brings together a diverse array of gourmet producers and artisans, offering an abundance of fresh produce, delectable food items, and takeaway treats. With around 50 vendors in attendance, visitors can indulge in an assortment of goods such as artisanal cheeses, sourdough breads, pastries, truffles, and more.
I highly recommend this place. The vibe is awesome. You can vibe to live music while enjoying your food. I had egg&bacon burger and fresh juice and they are so delicious. Staying here for an hour and I love it 🥰

What a great market. If I was staying longer or lived here I would frequent this market a lot. The produce looks amazing, and tasted awesome. The market has a great atmosphere also. So central to town and easy to get to. It wasn’t hard to find a carpark either. Would totally recommend.
Paula A — Google review
Great market first time visiting while on holidays in Tasmania, plenty of choices for food, we had a delicious proper pork pie from this guys stand called the grumpy pie guy. While at the markets next to where we bought the pork pie we came across this place that sells organic plant based cacao, hand made chocolate and different types of hot chocolate, the name is Dear Valentine chocolate, they also sell Organic coffee called Tasmanian Organic Coffee they are from Sheffield which also is a lovely town we will be back next time we visit
Jane D — Google review
Lovely market with a good variety of street foods, artisan gins, ciders, meads and wines, exotic spices, honey, local Fromage/cheeses (including vegan cashew cheeses) and plenty of fresh produce and gifts all backed by live music. Definitely a great way to start your Saturday in Launceston. Unfortunately dogs are not allowed.
Simon M — Google review
Authentic farmers market, fabulous selection of fresh produce, breads and pastries, fresh seafood and meats, local cheese and dairy items, Has an ever changing array of hot and cold food and drinks. A must do..every Saturday morning!
Mat T — Google review
Great vibes, good food, no parking. The cauliflower potato leek pie I had from Wanderlust was amazing
Jo O — Google review
A great place to visit on Saturday mornings in the quiet city of Launceston. A good food variety available. Open only till 1230, so should go in time to be able to get most of it.
Jitendra G — Google review
Good market to try out small biz products . Lots of interesting eats freshly made and high quality cheeses, truffles , cider and produce. Theres also salsa dancing . Hot foods and sweets available to enjoy and seafood and meats to stock up. Purveyors are very friendly and take time to tell you more about their products. You can feel their passion and sincerity. Not to be missed when you’re in Launceston on a Saturday !

Steak house
Black Cow Bistro is a stylish steakhouse located in a former butchery, featuring vibrant murals and offering premium, free-range beef. The restaurant pays homage to its roots as a local butcher's shop by showcasing grass-fed, free-range, dry-aged Tasmanian beef. Tasmania's strict regulations against artificial additives in red meat production and the focus on free-range grass-fed cattle result in high-quality meat from happy animals.
Visited this cozy restaurant on a Friday night and had a fantastic dining experience. We started with a scallop each and shared the pork belly for our entrées. both were delicious, and I especially loved the fresh, salad that accompanied the pork. For mains, we ordered the scotch fillet and eye fillet. The steaks were tender, full of flavour, and cooked to perfection. We also really appreciated the thoughtful pacing of the meal. It was great to have a bit of time between courses to enjoy and digest. Our only regret? Not saving room for dessert! We’ll definitely be back on our next visit to Launceston.
Olivia — Google review
The Eye Fillet is so nice and tender! Oysters are fresh but a bit small on the day of our visit. Jasper was a great help in offering suggestions on what to try. Wanted to try more stuff on the menu, but our small appetite made it impossible. Immediately made a booking for dinner the next day when we were settling our bill 😝
WY — Google review
Went to the Black Cow Bistro while we were in Launceston for our babymoon. We picked this restaurant based on the high ratings as we were looking for a location for a celebratory meal. The steak was nice, reasonably cooked, but unfortunately a little bit tougher than I would expect for an eye fillet. We have visited a number of mid-range and high end steak restaurants and competitively unfortunately, the Black Cow didn't stack up against our favourites. The mushrooms and beans for the side dishes were quite nice, but the best side was definitely the potato galette that came with he steak. The bread was delicious, but of course you can't really go wrong there. It did take a while for the meals to come out, which wasn't that surprising given how busy the restaurant was. Service was fantastic, and this is primarily why I'm giving a 4 star rating instead of a 3.
K M — Google review
Amazing place for dinner! We ordered the eye fillet and scotch fillet – both steaks were cooked perfectly and so flavourful 😋🤤. Overall, a fantastic dinner, highly recommend a visit! 👍
J W — Google review
Best steak ever! Tender, fresh, cooked to perfection! The kingfish was fresh and the sides of greens were super delicious! Must try steak! We got the porterhouse and it was chef kiss! The roasted garlic demi glaze was okay but really the real hero was that steak!
Quyen P — Google review
In terms of food it was really good however pricey. We waited a bit too long for the food. Also, I felt like the gravy was less compared to our meat. And the waitress who served us was a bit judgy and rude which turned off my mood.
Ash — Google review
What a terrific experience. Delicious entrees including oyster kilpatricks, scallops, kingfish, steak tartare and octopus... All sublime. Mains comprising eye fillet, porterhouse and slow cooked rump were all devoured heartily. Each were cooked to requested style and on point. But overall the deserts were heavenly and well worth leaving room for including yuzu lemon tart and frozen caramel slice. Thoroughly enjoyed.
Anthony H — Google review
A somewhat disappointing experience for my wife and I this evening. On arrival, there was some confusion as to whether our table was ready or not (we had a booking), but they worked it out in the end. The restaurant was pretty full, which is usually a good sign, but it actually felt a little too cramped and hard to have a conversation without feeling overheard. We decided to skip starters and go straight for the main. For reasons unknown to us or our waiter, we had to wait nearly 50 mins for our food to arrive. The wait felt especially long given the lack of olives, nuts, or bread being provided to the table. For a ‘fine dining’ restaurant, this is disappointing. There were 7 empty tables by the time our food came, so there was hardly a backlog of orders in the kitchen. The food itself was a good standard, but nothing overly amazing for the price. We have had better steaks at a lower price. We chose to share a desert, the caramel slice, and this was enjoyable and nicely thought out. A slight positive to end the night on, but overall, we were not impressed.

Penny Royal Adventures is an exciting destination in Launceston that offers a blend of thrilling activities and dining experiences. Visitors can enjoy cliff walks, rock climbing, zip-lining, boat rides, gold panning, and ghost tours. The site also features a variety of dining options ranging from restaurants to cafes and ice creameries. For adults, there's the opportunity to sample local wines at Penny Royal's cellar door while kids can have fun fossicking for gemstones in the stream bed.
Amazing place to visit. Great staff. Fun time. Just overall amazing place that is sure to be a hit with the whole family. I've been here with my dad previously and this time with my son, and both enjoyed the whole place. Totally different age groups and both loved it. I will be back again with other visitors in the near future :)

A must do if you’re visiting Launceston or just passing through! Great fun for kids and adults alike. There are plenty of exciting activities like rock climbing, cliff walks, cliff jumps, and zip lines. The package deals are reasonably priced compared to other places. You can easily spend a full day here, but even half a day is worth it. Everything is well organised, and the staff are super friendly. Free parking is a bonus. We didn’t get to try the restaurant, but it looked nice. The only downside was that there’s no photo booth or way to get pictures of your activities – that would’ve been a great addition!

"Penny Royal Adventures in Launceston, Tasmania, offers thrilling experiences. Ride the 925m zipline, take a scenic gondola ride, or hike. Enjoy wine tastings and gourmet meals. Explore Rail Track Rides and Tree Top Walk. A must-visit for adventure-seekers and nature lovers."

Great mix of history, food, and fun! Loved the atmosphere and the scenic views definitely worth a visit if you’re in Launceston
Sagar P — Google review
A good adventure park, staff are really helpful and accommodating. My mate did a zip line through the mountain and she said it was great!! 😊
Aimeee — Google review
Parking was very lacking, and most of the activities you had to pay for. This place is mostly for children in my opinion. However it is really unique. We spent less than 10 minutes there as it was not I threshing for just adults.
Shane — Google review
We visited on a Sunday and was not crowded. The place is nestled by a stunning waterfall, Penny Royal Adventure offers a mix of excitement and relaxation. Experienced the adrenaline of cliff adventures, the mystery of the dark boat ride, and the challenge of rock climbing. After the fun, unwind at the cozy on-site restaurant The place has their own hotel also. A perfect getaway for all people with all ages. We all enjoyed well
Jayantha J — Google review
One of the best adventure parks..there are activities for every age group in this place . Friendly staff and easy accessibility makes it a favourite one for families. Our kids enjoyed the zip line, cliff jump & cliff walk (bit scary where the nets are off)..picking up the right activities and packages will help you get best out of it. A cafe, restaurant and bar is situated inside which offers variety of items. A must visit in Launceston if you have kids..they will have a good time..

With an expert guide leading the way, you'll visit multiple wineries for tastings and a sumptuous lunch. The tour provides an immersive experience into the area's rich history, vineyard culture, and exceptional wines without any pressure to purchase.
Our host, Terry was incredibly knowledgeable and made sure we enjoyed ourselves along the way. An amazing group and we all have different palates and who knew Chardonnay could taste so different from winery to winery!!! We had a pleasant lunch and our group decided to purchase a couple of cheese boards at our 2nd to last winery as food and wine are enjoyed so much together. Our last visit was my personal favourite as it was like walking into Tuscany! The hosts were like old friends and the setting was absolutely exquisite. The wines absolutely delicious and the olives! Chefs kiss! Comfortable tour, what a day to remember and highly recommend while you are visiting Launceston.

Amazing wine tour. Terry took us to 4 premium wineries and helped us have a great time. Highly recommended.

I enjoyed the Discovery Wine Tour immensely! Terry took great care of us (his fab 5!) and curated a great day visiting 4 of the best Tamar Valley wineries. Finished with new friends and a cellar full of delicious drops. Thanks for a fab time, see you in 2 years for the reunion tour
Lisa M — Google review
We had an amazing experience with TVWT, so well organized and Terry's knowledge was amazing with the vineyards, the history of them and Launceston & surrounds. As a local, I learnt so much and we take this for granted. Our friends who experienced it with us absolutely loved it. I would certainly recommend doing a tour with Terry and his team and get to eat great produce and drink amazing wines.

Terry was a fantastic tour guide! Very knowledgeable about the local area and the vineyards we visited. The wine - well, delicious! Fabulous locations, great spread for lunch, left feeling very satisfied and keen for another tour ;) would definitely recommend.

We had the most amazing day with Tamar Valley Wine Tours! 🍷 From start to finish, everything was seamless — they were so easy to communicate and plan with, and really worked around our group to make the day perfect. The wineries were stunning, the food was beautiful, and the whole experience felt relaxed and well-organised. Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the day even more enjoyable. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Tasmania — an absolute must-do experience! 👏
Sinead T — Google review
The Tamar Valley Wine Tour was definitely the highlight of our Launceston trip. Terry was super friendly and gave great insights into each winery, the grapes, the owners, and the region. We felt really well looked after, and the group size of 10 was perfect. We loved every minute and came away with quite a few bottles - even some sweet wines I never thought I’d enjoy!
Michelle G — Google review
Exceptional value for money. Terry is amazing, kind and patient and his knowledge of the local vineyards is great. Velo wines was such a wonderful entry point with yummy wines and the lunch at Rosevears was gourmet. Travelling through the valley - without having to drive - gave me an appreciation of how beautiful this valley is when you're not focused on driving. I highly recommend Terry and his company. You get so much more than what you pay for - he needs to raise his rates!

Havilah Wine is a trendy and compact wine bar nestled in Launceston's food and wine scene. The establishment boasts a diverse wine list that features its own Two Tonne Tasmania and Havilah wines, as well as selections from Tasmanian and grower-producer wineries. The accompanying grazing menu showcases local and seasonal produce, offering dishes like Tasmanian scallops with nduja and coriander, wild meats, and local cheeses.
Easily a highlight of our two night stay in Launceston. The staff are so warm and welcoming, we sat at the bar both nights and enjoyed some great chats, amazing wine and yummy snacks. The off-list Riesling was pretty special and the snack menu just right👌🏻 plenty of seating inside and out, but yeah, we loved sitting at the bar and grooving to the vinyl, good vibes and a definite recommendation from us ♥️
Chris ( — Google review
We had such a lovely time at Havilah, and really enjoyed the wine tasting. The staff member who took us through our tasting was personable, knowledgeable, and really bright. The vibe is absolutely killer, such a beautiful venue and a great location… could definitely sit here and people watch with a glass of wine for hours. The food was good, but we felt that the pricing was a little unreasonable for the portion sizes. We understand that small businesses need to work so much harder to make ends meet with rising food costs, but a $38 pasta which was a fairly small/medium bowl with no protein felt a little steep. Regardless, such a beautiful venue with truly kind and heartfelt staff. Definitely would recommend to people travelling into Launceston.
Olivia B — Google review
Reserved a table for 2. Perfect girls date night. Loved the atmosphere of the place. Small and cozy. Very modern vibes. We sat by the window. Friendly service. The highlight of this evening was the chocolate mouse. Highly recommend. It was so rich and creamy with a touch of praline crunch. A must have! The second highlight was the house sourdough with this lovely whipped lemon butter. It was fresh and so soft. I don’t usually order bread but this exceeded all expectations. Well done team! Unfortunately, would not order the gnocco again as I was expecting a warm bite and it was actually a cold dish, stuffed with cream and too salty with the added cured meat on top and Parmesan. Not a favourite in my books. Same for the tuna. The cumquat overpowered the taste of the delicate tuna. Felt as if two flavours were competing. Overall, it was a great experience. I will for sure be back to try other wonderful dishes. Presentation of all the meals we ordered was amazing and very thoughtful. Thank you again.
Alice C — Google review
Great for lovers of natural wine and good food. The small menu was beautifully presented and perfectly executed. The staff are warm, friendly, and know their stuff, making the whole experience even better. Bookings were so easy, no stress at all. 👌🏻🤌🏼✨
Michael B — Google review
Had just one night in Launnie to start a week-long trip around Tasmania, and stumbled across Havilah..how lucky we were! We had some lovely wine, but most of all the lovely welcoming hostess gave us so many recommendations for our trip, all of which were excellent, and we felt very lucky to have got her advice! She was also spinning an excellent selection of vinyls all evening! 10/10
Rosie C — Google review
Great vibe, great wine selection, friendly service. The food was a bit of a let down - as someone who likes plenty of salt, two of our three plates were noticeably too salty. The steak was tough despite being cooked to medium rare - I would have preferred to pay more for a bit better cut.
Mitch — Google review
A gem (in maybe a bit of a sketchy area) but across from a lovely park and has a warm, trendy decor that's calm and inviting. Sourdough bread with lemon whipped butter was amazing as was the fettuccini (pesto and intricate herbs forward). Best glass of Pinot Grigio I've ever had and it's from their Havilah vineyards. Vivino rates it 4.1 and I'd give it slightly higher. Bought a takeaway bottle because it's so good.
Lisette C — Google review
It was Sunday evening, walked in got a table for two. We shared a hard cheese and had a side of cured meat and a nice chutney, we shared octopus terrine. That was super tasty well balanced with a lemon zest to it. The octopus was cooked to perfection. My friend had 6 natural oysters and loved them :-) The waiters where on the ball, service was fast and attentive. Was about $150 for 2 and we had two glasses of wine each!

Tasmania never fails to amaze me: the perfect climate for the best food and wine and both were perfectly showcased today along interesting commentary from Stef, wide variety of tastings from passionate cellar doors along the West Tamar Valley!

Incredible day exploring the beautiful Tamar Valley. Jeremy was a wonderful host - generous with his kindness & knowledge. The wineries were fantastic - Winterbrook was a stand out along with Loira Vines with a scrumptious lunch! Thank you so much!

Excellent day spent in tue vineyards with Jeremy. He is calm and very knowledgeable about wines as well as Tasmania. We visited: - Velo Wines - Holm Oak (check their tennis rackets!) - Small Wonder (lovely cheese and meats platter) - finished at Swinging Gates (Doug was am amazing host, he is passionate and likes to experiment with wines - I have my first white Amarone). They also have some nice domes that you can rent and sleep with the grapes.

Jeremy was a fantastic guide and took us to some amazing wineries. He went out of his way to show us some additional spots that meant a lot to my family which was greatly appreciated. Lunch was delicious and we couldn’t recommend this tour highly enough
Hayden C — Google review
Look, TBH you only have 2 companies in Launceston that do small group wine tours. So this company has no competition to motivate them to evolve. Tamar Valley wine is amazing!!! This company did not impress to say the least. Your host, a 70 y/o white collar man, loved to talk about things he was interested in, really lacked the ability to engage with diversity. The tour stated “4 wineries”, which, on the last 15 wine tours I’ve done around Australia, NZ and US… it is the understanding your “tasting at 4 wineries. However on arrival at the third winery we were having g lunch at Small Wonder Wines, on assumption we would be doing a tasting and then choosing a glass with lunch, we were met with attitude and distain from the worker. We explained we would be happy to pay. Again, pure attitude. One of the group went out to ask the diver if he could please explain. To which he came inside and gaslit us! Talking down to us like we were children saying “oh we never said there would be a tasting here, and the last venue we go to has big pours”. And then comments were made about lack of time, but when asked, ok, when do we need to be gone by, there was no direct answer. After that discussion with tone, he then suggested we do it with lunch… but with an attitude of “stop being difficult”. The group were embarrassed and said nothing more. We also hurried our lunch thinking we were time sensitive. I had messaged with the booking and again with confirmation I required GF at lunch and it was acknowledged. My platter came out with bread all over it. Now this was awkward- as we were already on the back foot. I was met with a snarl and eye roll “we were never told” The same platter came out with breadcrumbs all over it.. and GF crackers placed instead. I didn’t complain, I was already so embarrassed. And sure enough, I got very ill. The bus was tense after that, with one of the gentlemen’s volunteering to sit up the front with the host, as the women felt uncomfortable. At the last venue, we were again gaslit , when asked what time we needed to leave. No answer, he was asked directly 3 times with no direct answer. So some of the members of the group snuck out and went to the gin distillery next door for a tasting. That was the most enjoyable part! Ahahaha. There was no music played at all! No laughter. It was uncomfortable. Improvements: - state you only taste at 3 wineries. - Don’t gaslight or talk down to customers like they are children. - Talk more about the history of Launceston, colonisation, indigenous community? - Talk less at your customers. Instead Ask your clients about themselves, do some icebreakers. This experience is about them, not you. - Play some music! Let people enjoy the fact they are having a few drinks and laughs!

We had a great time with Jeremy. He has excellent wine industry knowledge and is a thoughtful tour guide. We visited 5 wineries and had a really nice grazing platters at winery number 3 and 5. Definitely recommend if you’re in Launceston or looking for a new destination.
Dan H — Google review
This tour was amazing! Steph took us around to all the wineries, giving us in the in-depth background along the way. She even sat with us at some of the tastings to give us more information. All the wineries, plus lunch, we went to were were fabulous and we loved the wines - bought many bottles!! We loved the extra touch of the cheese board Steph provided at our last winery. Would highly recommended to all!

Fabulous wine and food Tour. From woe to go we had professional and friendly service from Steph and Jeremy. The van was clean and comfortable and Jeremy was an excellent and very informative driver and host for the whole day. We visited 4 different small wineries (Velo, Winter Brook, Loira Vines and Swinging Gate) and at each one we had knowledgeable and passionate owners conducting the tastings. The variety of wines was well chosen with an amazing lunch at Loira Vines. Thanks Steph and Jeremy.

I had a wonderful 31st birthday dinner at Mudbar with friends. The interior aesthetic and atmosphere were perfect, classy but still relaxed. The staff were kind but not overbearing and personally wished me a happy birthday. The food and drinks were delicious and my friends said so too. We all liked that it was quiet enough to talk (but not too quiet). A perfect dinner experience.

Always a great experience here! The vibe is relaxed and welcoming, and the staff are super friendly, prompt, and really know the menu well. They checked in at all the right times, and the drink recommendation was absolutely perfect. I’ve been a few times now and have never been disappointed. Highly recommend if you love great food, good cocktails, and a happy, laid-back atmosphere!

Dinner at this place was a little different. A bit of improvement from the floor staff would go a long way — having to wait and look around just to ask for a napkin was slightly frustrating. That said, the gentleman who served us was kind and thorough when explaining the menu. The cocktails and oysters were absolutely delicious! 🍸🦪
Marina S — Google review
My partner and I had such an amazing experience! Food was to die for, The best oysters and scallops I have ever had! I would come back to mudbar if I could get those scallops again & for Pete’s service it was some of the best service we have ever had.
Bunches B — Google review
Mudbar is a popular venue for events so we made sure to book well in advance when planning our friend’s birthday. The team leader met us when we arrived and set everything out for us, which was very welcoming. However, when it came to ordering our entrees, one team member seemed very unhappy to serve us that we were there or she went through some personal difficulties ,honestly made all of us uncomfortable. We were even contemplating whether it might make sense to just leave, but we did not want to spoil what was intended to be a memorable celebratory occasion. Fortunately, we had another team member who took over our table, she was great and showed good professionalism, even helping us out with photos. The food was really very good—a big thank you to the chef! The group loved all dishes we ordered, and the birthday dessert with the special message was a nice touch and we really appreciated that.
Sandesh P — Google review
Mudbar makes for a great place for Lunch; right on the water with a scenic outlook and a really laidback vibe. Service was friendly and attentive, adding to the experience. Most of the food was excellent, though the noodle dish missed the mark with vinegar overpowering the other flavours. Aside from that, a strong showing and definitely worth a visit.
Isaac — Google review
Amazingly good food. We both love cooking and it was refreshing tasting so many flavours and textures. The chef is a genius combining food with sauces. I had crispy soft shell crab and my hubby had 2 starters : scallops and pork belly which were both amazing. The crab had delicious crispy texture and tom yum aioli and salad was interesting mix of fine leaves shredded and well dressed with asian style flavours. I had the duck as mains and the black sauce was hard to analyse but flavour was really lovely. Waiter explained it had a cheese Gochuchang mixed into it and black beans. The desert was a perfect end to a great meal....
Sandra M — Google review
Excellent drinks, food and atmosphere. Edit: the chilli cocktails quite nice, but a bit overwhelming on the amount of spiciness. That's coming from someone that likes spicy food. The taste was so nice though. The mango one tasted amazing all around.

Embark on a delightful Tamar River Cruise to explore the stunning landscapes and rich history of the region. As you leisurely glide along the river, you'll be treated to picturesque views of fertile farms, vineyards, and charming towns. The cruise offers informative commentary about the area's history, local birdlife, and aquatic animals. With various options available including morning, lunch, and full-day cruises, there's something for everyone.
We went on this cruise on 3 Dec 2024 (couple) at 3:30pm It was well worth the time and low cost. We booked in advance. Duration 1 hour, went up the Estuary / Harbour, and then to the Cataract Falls. The Skipper was the guide, he was good - Thank you. There was recorded commentary filled in various places along the way. The Harbour was interesting and historic. The old Bridge was worth photos and the history. The Cataract Gorge was good to see and photograph. Yes, well worth the experience.

A beautiful, relaxing cruise was had this afternoon, thanks to Tamar River Cruises and Captain Johno and staff. Lots of interesting facts and stories were told. Lovely afternoon tea supplied. Weather was terrific, even if a little cool, but it didn't detract from a great experience.

I enjoyed the 50 minutes boat cruising in the Tamar river. The Captain 🧑‍✈️ of the boat was keen to impart the history of the town.Along the river, the view was stunning and the rock formations tell the story of the place, will recommend this to everyone who will visit to Launceston.
J ( — Google review
Such a stunning and informative cruise along the Tamar River. The guide delivers an in depth history of Launceston, some well-known historic figures of Launceston and other natural attractions and features, that will keep you engaged and amazed.

Highly recommend the afternoon 2.5 hour cruise. A very pleasant way to spend an afternoon but also a great way to see the river and especially the Gorge. All the staff we dealt with made the trip more enjoyable. I would recommend booking and, if you want to sit on the top deck, arriving early. The wine tasting was enjoyable as was the commentary.

Took the river cruise in late March recently. It wasn't full but a good size were on board. Enjoyed the whole experience. It went up Tamar river first before going to the Cataract Gorge. Got a complete view of the gorge from the river first and also from higher when we did the gorge walk later

I had a fantastic experience with Cataract Gorge Cruises on the Tamar River. It was a relaxing way to spend a summer afternoon, and the entire trip was a perfect blend of tranquility and scenic beauty. The atmosphere onboard was lovely, with a calm and peaceful vibe that allowed me to unwind and fully enjoy the surroundings. The river was serene, and the gentle flow of the water added to the sense of relaxation. The views along the way were stunning, with the natural beauty of the Cataract Gorge and the surrounding landscapes making it a memorable journey. The cruise staff were welcoming and attentive, ensuring everyone had a comfortable experience. Their knowledge about the area was impressive, and they shared interesting facts and stories about the history and wildlife of the region, adding an educational element to the trip. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, this cruise is an excellent way to explore the Tamar River .The combination of breathtaking scenery, calm waters, and a laid-back atmosphere makes it an ideal activity, especially on a warm summer day. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature.

I did the Cataract Gorge cruise on the most beautiful day. Our skipper was Huon who had lots of jokes and interesting information for us. He was also kind enough to make some eating venue recommendations. Great to have the local knowledge.

Park
Princes Square, located in Launceston, is a historic landmark with a fascinating past and vibrant present. Once a site for military drills and political gatherings, it now attracts city workers seeking relaxation and attendees of the Junction Arts Festival. The park features Victorian-era architecture alongside modern amenities, offering visitors a charming space to unwind. The centerpiece fountain and abundant seating provide an ideal spot to enjoy the surroundings.
Love this park amazing trees and just a nice and peaceful place.
Matthew A — Google review
I passed through here 4 times in 2 days as I was staying at marrilac house in brisbane street in the city centre 2 nights as a driver for my cousin who was in the LGH. I think it was about 1.9 kilometers walk each way. So the 4 times I walked through this park it was a welcome relief to take a few minutes to relax In the park before continuing on my mission. Beautiful park. Saw lots of pigeons, but had no food so I crushed a few acorns after peeling the outer skin. Some of them had a nibble but most weren't that interested. But it did draw them close enough in numbers to eat out of my hand. This fountain is totally so beautiful. The dark grey colours tho really don't do it justice. A sandstone colour would make it stand out & reveal it's beauty way better. I am so glad that the drunk bunch of youths being idiots are no longer hanging around there anymore as many have said here also. & the peace & tranquility of this relaxing space has returned to its beauty once again.
Eddy C — Google review
A nice park to escape the hustle and bustle of Launceston CBD or a short walk down from LGH to clear your head from all those medical issues. Sit by the fountain surrounded by Oak Trees.
Braden H — Google review
Beautiful Park in the city with magnificent trees and fountain. Great place to relax and have something to eat. It must to go to, just watch out for the occasional social drinkers. 🍻🍺🥂🍾🍷
Peter H — Google review
The square is one of the city's smaller parks, there are usually only a few people here. It's a great place to capture the serenity of the city. The main attraction is the fountain, and I see why - it's a masterpiece! There's a balance between nature and architecture which is pleasing to the eye. It was a memorable experience.
Shayon K — Google review
Beautiful place for a short stroll. The fountain is gorgeous and the garden is very well kept. Worth a visit if you're nearby.
Cheryl S — Google review
This is a very charming park space, with a beautiful fountain at the centre with ample seating provided to take in the view and relax. It is worth it to have a walk along the branching paths to appreciate the many flowers planted around the park. There are plenty of toilets available for use during business hours. I recommend visiting the park to take a load off, reflect and take your daily dose of O2 from the greenery. There is a tranquil quality to this park that shines above others.

Du Cane Brewery & Dining Hall is a unique brewpub that embodies the values of its founder, Will Horan. The brewery prides itself on sustainability and community support, reflected in their core beers inspired by the Du Cane Mountain Range. They use locally sourced Tasmanian ingredients and traditional brewing methods to create a range of craft beers. The dining experience at Du Cane Brewery & Dining Hall is exceptional, offering delicious food paired with their onsite-brewed craft beers.
What a great find in Launceston. The Beer selection is huge and the pizzas are probably the best in town as they are authentic when it comes to the Italian bases and amazing toppings. We found all the beers to be great, including the dark ale, the IPA, the XPA and the lager. I especially love the ginger Beer which was an absolute stand out. The staff were friendly despite how busy it was. I loved all the pizzas as we tried the mushroom, the potato and the broccoli. The chips, the mashed potatoes and salad were great. I cannot fault the place and would return in a heartbeat.

Du Cane is a wonderful place in Launceston. It has a great and relaxed atmosphere, very friendly staff and is great for events and gatherings. It is also very kid-friendly, with a mini rock climbing wall. My 12 year old son always enjoys coming here for delicious pizza all at a reasonable price! (They have the best fireplace as well!)

Not a word of a lie, this is the first GOOD pizza I've had since moving to Australia 6 years ago. I have been fanging for a good, bitey, crusty, fresh pizza and, my goodness, this is it. Thank you, Tassie, for your gorgeous fresh ingredients, and thank you, Du Cane Brewery, for using the raw materials to make this gorgeous pizza. And beer. The beer is also excellent. But the pizza!
Kate M — Google review
Had lunch here today, went for the in tent pizza and baked potatoes. Both outstanding. Tried the strawberry kombucha and apple cider, those were good too. Friendly staff and good service. Highly recommend.

Fantastic staff. Friendly and informative. Great venue. We were there Monday lunchtime. Fairly quiet. Would be huge on a busy Friday evening. Great pizzas.

My kind of place….. If you are a beer person or a pizza lover this a Must visit if you are in town. Best people with best food.
Anthony R — Google review
We visited in early April and enjoyed "from the sea" accompanied with fresh hop beer. I crave fresh hop beer and to have a delicious one with a great pizza lead to enjoying more of the beer menu that evening. We both were able to relax near the front of the building with our meal on the elevated area. It's great with the size of the venue that a couple can find a great place to have dinner and families can bring small kids toward the back and enjoy themselves. This place works well for most any group. May not make it back to Tasmania, but will always happily remember Du Cane.
Erik J — Google review
We visited Du Cane on 3 Dec 2024 (a couple). We had dinner here and a few beers, of course. I had the Dark Lager, then the Dunkel - both excellent! The Pizzas are wood-fired and were really good. The place was huge, spacious, lots of seating. The loo was clean and neat. Very enjoyable - Thank you. Recommended....
