Annie's Burger Shack, located in the Lace Market, offers a diverse menu of 30 types of burgers made with locally sourced beef, as well as vegetarian and vegan options. The restaurant is housed within a real ale pub and is known for its themed quiz nights, making it a great spot for a relaxed evening with friends. One of their popular offerings is the Sunday Dinner Burger, which features homemade Yorkshire pudding, stuffing ball, mini roasties, and gravy.
What a great place to drop in to after a hard day shopping in Notts. The food was lovely, fresh, and tasty. One little thing, my burger could have been a little hotter and melted the cheese as it felt a little cold. But overall chips and onion rings spot on, and the other meals were perfect. The drinks were spot on homemade lemonade, and will return soon.
Alan R — Google review
Annie's was a very nice experience, the food was outstanding I thought and they had a fantastic selection of beers available. The menu was well laid out but could get a little confusing with probably a few too many items, if they were to cut this down a few I think it would be beneficial. The restaurant is hard to find, but I think that adds to the experience.
Grant O — Google review
Edit review to 1 star for them jumping ship and not informing staff. Annie's Burger shack has been a place I've visited only a handful of times and the experience always seems to differ between good and... Meh. On the day we visited, we were quickly seated and our order for drinks was taken. My partner had ordered a milkshake as she was intrigued by their Reese's one with getting myself a root beer. Once the order for the milkshake was taken, the server approached the kitchen window which was right behind us and asked them if they could make the milkshake for her which received the response of them stating 'they couldn't be bothered' but they'd do it for her. My root beer came promptly and the milkshake took some time to arrive, probably 10 minutes before the food itself and for £10 was underwhelming. The Reese's peanut butter taste was barely present and it merely came across as a glorified vanilla milkshake. When ordering our food, the server asked me which type of fries I'd like and whilst attempting to locate them on the menu, I asked her 'what are the options?', rather than tell them to me, she moved the menu to the appropriate page and pointed to them, declaring that 'they are listed here' in a snappy tone. Once our food arrived the fries were hot and crispy and the burgers stacked high. The burgers during this visit felt a little overcooked compared to previous visits and a little dry unfortunately. I added a side of Frank's and beans which has decreased In quality since the last time I had them, with a few pieces of sausage and clearly microwaved beans. It's unfortunate this visit was not as good in comparison to previous visits. I would recommend Annie's Burger Shack for their variety, atmosphere and selection... Visiting results may vary.

A great place for burgers. There's 30+ different burger options, plus a couple of different hotdogs to choose from, so you'll probably find something you haven't tried before. We've had both beef and chicken burgers from here before, and they've been delicious. They had a good range of beers as well, with craft beers from Brixton, Camden and Goose Island, plus several lager options. The milkshakes are also quite special, with the option to add alcohol to it to add another flavour (we tried the Nutella chocolate milkshake which Cointreau is added to).
James G — Google review
Absolutely LOVEEEE this place and the new menu is banging!! You can go vegan, veggie or meaty on any of their burger choices. Although making that choice isn’t easy, they all sound unreal. I’ve been a fan of Annie’s for years and getting to meet her properly last night was so much fun, she’s so lovely. I’ve never ever been disappointed when visiting here, and the new burgers are sooooooooo bloody good . Highly recommend getting the Texas bbq rib and the poutine fries!!
Kerrie A — Google review
This place was a great find, the food was great, plenty of choice with both food and drinks. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Reasonably priced too. Would recommend you try the Frickles, not for everyone but we loved them Will definitely be visiting when we are next in Nottingham
Nicola G — Google review
Absolutely love this place! Have been twice now and both times were amazing. Excellent food quality, lovely cocktails and soft drinks, friendly staff, great environment. The massive range of burgers on the menu means there's something for everyone. Would definitely go again!
Beckii A — Google review
Just ordered delivery. New England dipper burgers both missing dipping sauce. Vegan burger is appalling version just two slices of packet beef sandwich slices. Meaty burger is all fat not brisket. Burgers are absolutely not as advertised. Wedges are undercooked. Onion rings order is literally two single onion rings. This was ridiculously expensive (£38~) for what is very poor quality and missing items. Annie's has never been Old Angel / The Nav quality since then but I had hope w seeing constant comments of how the burgers etc had changed w the new menu but I'm really disappointed.

Friendly greeting as soon as you enter the restaurant. Good service with attentive staff. The food was tasty - good flavors. Plain table setting but overall good experience, plan to return in the future. I recommend trying the octopus.

We visit here regular and have never had a bad meal! Lovely staff, on the ball and delicious food! We were celebrating 2 birthdays, so they bought us small desserts with candles 🎂

Wow! Officially the best food we have had in Notts! We all got a couple/few dishes each and not one disappointed. Nothing short of extremely tasty delicious and beautiful food. The restaurant itself is really lovely and in a great location. I am already planning on coming back and bringing more people!

We went to Yamas in Nottingham after hearing about it from other people and for my love of greek food after going to Greece for many family holidays. Rather than having the set menu we picked quite a few dishes off the other section of the menu. The food was really nice but we ordered a bit too much. Got quite a fair portion and was full at the end of it. Next time not going to order as many dishes. Staff were lovely and very attentive. Only downside was the ambient noise of the restaurant. I felt like I couldn't hear myself think.
Lauren W — Google review
We were looking for somewhere that wasn't too far from Rock City that had good reviews and food we enjoyed and that we could also get a table and be out for 7pm. Have to say that even though the restaurant was busy just after 5pm we had the best of times. We went for a Meze for two to share and picked a few other dishes, OMG the food was joyous, such wonderful flavours and beautifully cooked. My wife and daughter said the Greek wine in the picture was wonderful. Definitely worth a visit
Sean R — Google review
We chose to eat here because the reviews were very good but we left disappointed. In general the food was bad, everything was cold, nothing was really seasoned, meat was really tough, bread was tough and bland. The staff were distant so service took a while! Disgusting experience. Will never come back! The one good thing was that the manager was very reasonable and understanding and he apologised for our experience.

This place is amazing. The food is so good, Great staff and front of house..makes you feel very welcome and because it was my parents wedding anniversary came out with a free desert for us 😁 can't wait to go back.

It offers a diverse selection of over 20 types of fresh fish daily, which can be prepared baked, battered, or grilled. The establishment has received numerous accolades, including being named the best fish and chip shop in the UK in 2020.
Absolutely delicious Plaice here! Chips were cooked just right, salad was fresh and crispy and the mushy peas are a MUST… oh and don’t forget to add a gherkin! Thank you very much for an enjoyable dinner and with such friendly smiley service!

We go here for lunch quite often now and it's always great. There's always a great amount of options of fish served fried or baked, let alone the other things on the menu. This week they had on shellfish specials so we had some fantastic crab and lobster.

Fish was really tasty and very filling. Excellent menu with a range of items to choose from including drinks. The restaurants own 'Scale Ale' was a great along side the fish. It was not busy when we went with plenty of tables. Staff serving were very friendly and attentive, checking back that everything was OK after receiving the food. Good attention to detail with restaurant theme from lobster pot lights to octopus wine bucket. Just adds to the experience of eating there. Just been for another excellent meal there.
Nigel S — Google review
Ordered my food on Uber eats. I couldn’t fault the quality of the fish but it was tasteless, not seasoned at all! As I’m staying in a hotel, i had no salt or any other seasoning. They didn’t even add a slice of lemon with it. It was such a disappointment!
Nune P — Google review
Visited this place for the 1st time today & I was expecting more than I got. The chips taste weird compared to your local chippy. I also had a battered sausage & that was very average. Asked for tomato sauce on the chips & was told it was £1.50 extra. Very disappointing chippy & I definitely won't be visiting again. I can't understand the high scoring reviews. The food is poor
Daniel D — Google review
This restaurant claims to be award winning and I can confirm this! My partner and I have been here several times now when staying in Nottingham and it’s a golden gem if you love fish and chips! My partner always opts for the sausage and chips as she’s not a fan of fish and she absolutely loves it! I always go for the cod and chips and the fish is perfectly battered, the fish is thick and flakey and the chips are divine! The ice cream is to die for if you have a sweet tooth or love your ice creams and deserts. I could not recommend this place enough! Honestly, the staff are lovely, the decor is lovely and rather quirky and cool! Show this amazing chippie some love because it really is the best.

Deli
Delilah Fine Foods is a renowned cafe and restaurant located on Victoria Street in Nottingham, United Kingdom. The owner, Sangita Tryner, has curated a unique food and drink experience where everything is carefully selected and sourced. They offer a variety of options for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and even fine Italian groceries. The establishment has received national accolades for its quality offerings.
We have visited Delilah's a number of times over the last few weeks. This place is a hidden gem in our opinion. Everyone we have interacted with has been excellent. The food in the restaurant is very good. Only place in Nottingham we have found with actual Italian deli meats and cheeses. Lots of great specialty items in their small grocery section. Huge selection of teas. Our favourite place for breakfast in Nottingham.
Charles R — Google review
I've been to Delilah's twice now. The first time I had a really excellent veggie breakfast and the setting is lovely, so I thought it would be an ideal place to catch up with another friend over lunch. Staff were very helpful with dietary requirements and on paper the 'afternoon cheese' sounded delightful. However what we actually received was just super disappointing. The scones for example were tiny, about the diameter of a 50p coin, perhaps slightly bigger. I would have expected at least the savoury scones to be full sized. I have attached a photo of the afternoon cheese before we touched it so that you can appreciate just how stingy it was for £40, for the portion size £25 would have been more appropriate but I still would have been disappointed to leave hungry. You can't see the tiny thin crackers, the meat or the little pot of chutney we got due to the angle but they were equally disappointing in portion size. Would have preferred to still pay £40 and honestly get twice as much food. The food was tasty. I'll probably give Delilah's one more go as this may just have been a bad day. If you're not going in to actually eat there, the delicatessen is worth a visit anyway.
Amy V — Google review
Our favourite place to go for lunch when in Nottingham. Always a lovely varied menu with freshly cooked delicious food. Staff are always friendly and it's a very relaxed atmosphere. Prices are reasonable too for such good quality food.
Debs Y — Google review
I've been visiting Delilah's for many years. Most recently we were there for a special occasion with friends, and before that with my dad when he was very unwell. Breakfast, coffee, cake, cheese, wine - always great. Leonardo is an excellent host. Attentive, kind, warm and never too much. Thank you.
Kersti — Google review
Lovely experience eating there! The staff is friendly, the vibe is cosy and the prices are affordable. The food is diverse and there’s a bit of everything. The truffle pesto and fresh burrata gnocchi were delicious with wonderful flavours, as were the polenta chips! The sourdough bread on the croque monsieur was a little bit too dry for my taste, as was the lamb patty and grilled halloumi burger. There is also a shop where you can buy many specialties which is lovely to check out too!
Marjolaine L — Google review
Let the pictures speak for themselves, but the salad was old and tomatoes were verging on rotten. Nothing clean. Glasses had old food from the washer in them and had to be replaced.
Mathew — Google review
One of the best choices for brunch and some nice food in Nottingham. Usually quite busy but not impossible to get a table. Good variety of cheese and meat, solid options for food in the menu, quite a few sweets too and nice coffee - especially the specialty filter coffee. Service is good, albeit it may take time to get served. Place is well curated to enable shoppers to part with some of their money for a bite of something that seems too great to leave the place without. A bit pricey but the again it's one of the very few options of delicatessen in the city. Generally enjoy visiting and trying new things.

Really cool place, great selection of, mainly Belgian, beers, lambics and ciders. Delicious food menu, the handheld section is especially good value for money. Lots of seating, outside, inside and upstairs.

Love Junkyard, being a regular spot we visit for beer. Visited 3rd Jan and decided to have some food there for the first time. Big mistake! We ordered a few small plates, but they forgot the chicken wings. We said we still wanted the wings so they cooked them and brought them out. They must have rushed them, as they were still raw in places! I know meat on the bone can be pink the closer to the bone it is, but there were bloody in places! Thankfully we noticed, spat out the first mouthful and left them. They didn’t smell good either!
Hannah — Google review
Terrific, hidden gem of a craft beer bar. Carefully curated tap selection and a vast array of options in cans and bottles. Interior is tastefully minimalist. Friendly staff as well!
Sascha A — Google review
Easily one of the best places to drink in Nottingham city centre. Always a great range of beers on tap (at least 15) plus very well stocked fridges with some great beers from smaller breweries across Europe and beyond. Very friendly service from all staff who know their beers and happy to offer advice and a small taste before you order. Food is great and goes well with the drinks. Outside seating areas (front and rear) for warmer weather and a great atmosphere inside. Definitely worth visiting!

Great selection of Keg Beer and super friendly staff definitely worth a visit.

Update: stopped for a quick bite and a beer. We had 3 starters, the lamb kofta, artichoke and halloumi. All were delicious and what trio of food, I recommend trying all three together. I have upped the star rating to 5 now, as the food was delicious and the staff were great. Previous review: Nice spot. We had lovely vegetarian food, and there was a nice looking meaty options to. Always a great selection of beers, so plan plenty of time to try them all. I would definetely come back here.

Nice selection of craft beer and cocktails. Outdoor seating links through to Kilpin Beer Cafe.

Was recommended this place by a friend. A great shout. Great atmosphere tucked away in a little nook. Its through a small alley so you might have to pay close attention when finding it. Note for cider drinkers: They sell some in cans, but they have no cider options on tap, HOWEVER they do have fruity sours on tap which I'd say are even better. If you're a cider drinker like me and haven't tried a fruity sour before, go on, get one ere, I bet youll like it. Phwoar

Thai restaurant
Zaap Thai Street Food is a vibrant and lively restaurant located in Nottingham city center, offering an authentic taste of Thai street food in a relaxed and convivial atmosphere. Upon entering, guests are greeted with colorful and lively decor that mirrors the bustling streets of Thailand. The menu features classic dishes such as gang massaman and pad thai, along with enticing starters like deep-fried corn cakes and crispy tiger prawns.
T his restaurant came highly recommended by several family members who are big fans of oriental cuisine. My brother-in-law, in particular, is obsessed with it — he's tried nearly every spot in Nottingham, yet this one remains his firm favourite. After visiting, I completely understand why. The décor is stunning — bold, fun, and full of playful character. I especially loved the truck-style booths designed for families. They’re such a creative touch and add a unique, child-friendly twist that makes dining out feel like an experience, not just a meal. As for the food — it was absolutely delicious. I ordered the traditional Thai Tom Yum, which had a lovely balance of sweetness and spice. The flavours were rich and the ingredients inside were fresh and full of depth. Service-wise, the staff were excellent — genuinely attentive and warm. They checked in on us regularly, ensuring everything was perfect without being overbearing. All in all, it’s easy to see why this place is a favourite. A great blend of atmosphere, creativity, and flavourful food — we’ll definitely be coming back.

Zaap Thai is a great and different place to for lunch or dinner. The food is tasty and there are plenty options to choose from. The service staff were friendly and attentive. Our only complaint was our starter and main came to the table at almost the same time, though we ordered as part of a deal and this could be why. I recommend the Thai milk tea, it was perfect.

The best Thai food I’ve had outside of Thailand (and that’s a tie). Amazing friendly Thai staff, felt like I was back in Bangkok. The gluten free menu was huge. Portions generous, mango sticky rice 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻💯The decor was so much fun, too!
Caroline M — Google review
We came here on bank holiday Monday as a party of 4. We were stood at the entrance for about 20 minutes with about 8 others until a waiter came over to us. The restaurant wasn’t busy so it was a bit strange. After 30 minutes we were seated. The food made up for the wait, as it was so tasty. I recommended the Thai red, and Panang, and of course the singha! The interior is quite fun and has lots of Thai decorations. I really enjoyed the food but the service was pretty terrible at the start so I couldn’t recommend this and wouldn’t come back here.

Had a lovely evening here. Thanks so much to Vanessa who was very welcoming, rays to speak to and listened and advised us of what options we could try. And they were spot on. Thank you so much Vanessa. :)
Mim B — Google review
Okay, so I've been coming to Zaap Thai in Nottingham now for about 5 years. I get the same thing, number 83 with chicken, because it's just so good every time. Well. They've changed the chicken. It's gone from different shapes and sizes of clearly fresh chicken breast, to fully uniform and plastic tasting chicken. It tastes funny, and is clearly just pre cooked chicken that's been thrown into the cooking sauce and reheated. I know precooked pre sliced package chicken when I see it, it's very obvious as I cook a lot myself. It ruined the meal, and our time here as it was just awful to eat. When asked, of course I was reassured it was fresh but honestly it's obvious. Other food might be good but this has been the best thing going for me and now it's gone. My husband and I were celebrating our 1 year wedding anniversary and were severely disappointed.

Good staff, nice environment, but the food could be more authentic. So probably 3.9 stars.

The Pudding Pantry in Nottingham is a popular spot for afternoon tea enthusiasts. The establishment offers a delightful selection of sweet treats, including vanilla scones and expertly crafted petit fours, as well as savory options and a variety of fine loose-leaf teas. With separate menus for vegetarians, vegans, and those with gluten-free diets, everyone can indulge in the delicious offerings.
We used a voucher that we'd been given for Bottomless Brunch. The food was delicious, our waitress Katie was excellent & kept us topped up with drinks. We were both too full to eat the pudding part of the deal so they were packaged up for us to take home. Excellent food & service 😊

Freak shake was very nice and the Pudding Pantry has a wide range of options for everyone. No complaints on the food side 👍 Service was quick and efficiency wasn't an issue 👍 Poor hospitality and people skills: The lady with blonde hair and glasses that served me was cold and unfriendly (no warmth at all) and felt uncomfortable ☹️ I will give it another go next time, hopefully this won't happen again. Overall a mixed experience - food was nice, hospitality was poor (especially coming from a Mediterranean culture)

I don’t have a sweet tooth, but reading about the Pancakes with fried buttermilk chicken, that’s interesting! It was delish!! A must try for people who wanna taste the best of both worlds.

We had a great time at Pudding and Pantry! From quiche to macaroons the food was tasty and the service was fast and friendly. We made a reservation in advance and there was no wait.
Stacey P — Google review
Food was delicious, we all ready enjoyed everything we ordered and while I don't mind paying for good food, £78 for breakfast was a little bit of a shocker. Pancakes, Turkish eggs and 2 breakfasts with a drink each. I had an iced latte and there was more ice in the glass than actual drink paying I think around £4 for a small drink. The food was as I say lovely but it won't be somewhere we come again due to the price. Sorry

The best veggie breakfast we've had! Quite loud on the saturday morning but still able to have a chat across the table. The staff were so lovely but seemed abit under preasure with the work load. Overall would definetly recommend :)

My first experience of eating at Nottingams The Pudding Pantry. Really lovely decor and love food. I had the pancakes, and others had the fry up. My only gripe would be as a Canadian that the little pot of maple syrup is really not enough for that many pancakes. It got quite busy as we were eating and we had to ask for the milk for the coffee which wasn't great. Also, the music is way too loud. As we were finishing, the chatter and music were quite loud. People have to talk louder over the music. Overall, it is an OK experience, and we will return to try more Lower stars for the loud atmosphere otherwise great 👍🏻

Nestled in Nottingham, the Warsaw Diner is a delightful homage to classic American roadside diners, reminiscent of those found along Route 66. With its vibrant red, white, and blue decor and a neon sign that playfully nods to iconic highways, this eatery offers a unique blend of Polish charm and American comfort food. Guests can enjoy their meals from cozy vinyl booths or bar stools while watching the culinary magic unfold on the flat-top griddle.
Great breakfast always and great polish food on weekend evenings too! Lovely home cooked food that I've never tried before and great veggie options!

Went here today for brunch and can thoroughly recommend! I went for the "Bad Ass" combo which has sausage, bacon, mushrooms, eggs, pancakes & amazing hash browns. Also comes with unlimited tea/coffee/OJ. There were many other great options on the menu too - next time I'd try the breakfast scramble. We were greeted warmly by the great staff and were seated at the diner bar. Food was great, good service and pleasant atmosphere. If I still lived in Nottingham I'd be back every week!

A brilliant little diner, the aesthetic gives warm and cozy vibes, especially when freezing outside! It's lovely to watch the food being cooked in front of you and the service is so friendly and nice. I will definitely be retuning to try further items on the menu, breakfast or lunch works perfectly! The venue boasts period features and a deep woods ambiance, offering regular live music performances. In addition to Malt Cross, visitors can explore other unique places such as the Trip to Jerusalem public house, Lost Caves cocktail bar, and the Hand and Heart, all featuring cave rooms for dining and drinking experiences.
Amazing classic british pub that I found in this city. The interior was so unique like a concert hall. They also have a stage in the middle maybe for a live music performance. I tried sunday roast here and was very affordable and quite tasty for me. The price is reasonably good and the waiter was so friendly. They dont have table service so you must find a table first and then go to the counter to book and remember your table.

Such a cute pub no idea why I have never been in. Their pie was really good and not awfully priced. Pub quiz was mint would have come first if we didn’t have 7 on our team. Also downside is that it was boiling upstairs I felt like I was in a greenhouse. Will be back when it is cooler and I am not gonna melt

Lovely venue, great food, and friendly service. The music was a little bit loud for a family Sunday lunch vibe but otherwise great venue!

A lovely space just off the main square, great for a quick drink or a longer stay. The bar staff were friendly and the drinks and coffees we ordered were spot on. We didn’t order food but it looked equally as good. There’s plenty of seating options from small tables to larger areas. There was a small games library which was nice to see.

Beer was drinkable, just. I left half of it, and I love beer. Dinner also sub-standard; veg. underdone, no crackling, watery gravy and none of it exactly piping hot. Won't be returning. A shame as the building is wonderful. A 😕

Atmospheric place, very good food. The service is very nice. You can see the process of making pizza. Also when you order tartare the staff prepares it in front of you. I heartily recommend delicious Italian food. We were there at lunchtime without a reservation and got a table for 5 people without any problem. I think it's because it was the middle of the week. Reservations may be needed at the weekend. It's better to check before going there.

What can I say - the atmosphere was so relaxed and inviting. The service was incredible, especially Ben who couldn't have been more polite- and finally but most important the food! It cannot be faulted, the pizza is so authentically Italian 🍕 and for dessert the dough petals were so pleasing I couldn't stop even though I was full!

We came here for Sunday lunch to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We shared gusto dough petals with tomatoes, crispy shallots with homemade mayonnaise to start- which were delicious. We both went for a ‘Gusto Roast’ - one pork belly and one mushroom pudding. The portion sizes were really generous. I would especially like to thank our waitress Eleanor - she was the most attentive server we have had in some time, noticing that I was running low on gravy and getting me some more. She gifted us a free prosecco and a personalised brownie from the chef. I would definitely return again for the good food in elegant surroundings with exceptional service.

Restaurant
Tarn Thai Restaurant, located on George Street in Hockley, Nottingham, offers an extensive Thai menu served in a traditional and opulent setting adorned with Thai art and water features. The restaurant provides an express lunch special from 12-3pm where patrons can choose a main dish with steamed or egg rice for a reasonable price. The lunch menu has remained unchanged in quality and price for over 10 years.
One of the best Thai restaurants in Nottingham. The evening is more of a fine dining affair but their lunchtime offer has been incredible value for nearly 20 years. 2 courses and coffee or tea for £12 is a bargain. The decor is a becoming a little dated but the attentive and excellent service make up for that. The track and trace is available via Serco track and trace app or details can be given verbally (when like me, I can't can't a signal). Great choice of vegetarian options even in the lunch deal. The food has always been to the same standard which is a great bonus for such a long-standing restaurant.

Really nice atmosphere and decor. The food looks authentic and very well presented - recommend the Thai style fish cakes. Staff were friendly enough, albeit a bit short, but prefer that way. Only gripe was the chairs - so uncomfortable! There's no back so forget about sitting relaxed.

Really enjoyed eating here. The food that came out was very nice (I had steak) and all the waiters and waitress's were super friendly and accommodating. We had a fantastic experience at Bistrot Pierre in Nottingham! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the food was absolutely delicious — perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. My husband and I had the pleasure of dining at Bistrot Pierre in Nottingham to celebrate their 30th birthday. We were invited to experience their special nostalgic menu, and it was a delightful evening from start to finish. ❤️ The moment we stepped in, we were captivated by its charming and cozy atmosphere. The decor beautifully combines modern elegance with rustic touches, creating a warm and inviting setting. Their special nostalgic menu truly highlighted the best of French cuisine, celebrating 30 years of culinary excellence. We highly recommend visiting during this celebration week to indulge in their exquisite offerings - 3 courses and a 125ml glass of Cuvee selection 30 for £30 ✨ Entrées: We started off with rich and earthy Mushroom Sourdough and creamy Baked Goats Cheese. Both dishes were incredibly flavorful and served with complimentary freshly baked French bread and butter. Plats: For our main course, we chose the Caramelized Onion and Brie Tart. This dish was a standout, with its flaky pastry, sweet caramelized onions, and creamy Brie. It left us wanting more. Dessert: We shared the Cafe Gourmand for dessert, which included a trio of Crème Brûlée, Tarte au Citron, and a light Madeleine sponge with vanilla ice cream. Each component was a delight in its own right, and together, they provided a perfect ending to our meal. Overall, our experience was nothing short of exceptional. Here's to many more years of wonderful dining experiences. 🥂

First ate lunch here in 2005. It was fab then as it was recently. The food was amazing and a great choice for a lunch 3 course. £20. I give 4 starts, but I'd say 4.5 as it was warm, but not HOT. But delicious. The chocolate mousse was excellent. My guests also thoroughly enjoyed their meals. We will return.

Visited today with my sister and my uncle. We hadn’t pre booked but they managed to get us in a bit later in the afternoon. We did a bit of shopping and went back. The food was lovely, not all of us had the set menu and we were all impressed with the food we were served. The calamari was so tasty! The service was great 👍. I had a side order of dauphinoise potatoes, unfortunately they were extremely salty so I dropped a star for this. All in all, we had a really lovely time. Thank you
Hannah — Google review
First time in with friends, tried the set menu, picked our choices, and got served by a very nice waitress. Food arrived, starters were nice and the main course, small portions but decent. Dessert was the classic Creme Brulee, which was not bad. If you like big portions, don't bother with set menu. Side portions got mixed up with something we didn't order. After getting the bill, trying to pay was the tedious bit. Waited for a long time and had to walk up to the bar to find someone. On top of that, a stupid customer (a racist I would add) assumed that I was staff and wanted to pay the bill.

I arrived to a full and bustling restaurant at dinner time without a booking. The maître d' was so charming by welcoming me anyway and immediately cleared a table for me. George's Great British Kitchen is an upscale restaurant in Nottingham, with additional locations in Leeds and Newcastle. The menu features traditional British dishes with a modern twist, including fish and chips, pies, burgers, and grilled fish. The restaurant offers a relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff, making it an ideal spot for a leisurely afternoon lunch.
Visited with my father & his lady for a pre concert dinner. Located in the city centre very close to the Royal Albert Hall. Relatively quiet upon entry being a Thursday evening 1730. Tall ceilings, various old songs played overhead and we were seated a 4 seat table. Finest Haddock ×3 Bread & Butter Arctic Roll Strawberry Cheesecake The chips had a subtle orange hue to them. They weren't crunchy but the flavour and fluffyness within was delightful. Chip shop chips done right. The haddock portions were enjoyed without a single bone present. The batter was a very crispy and NOT oily affair. Very good restaurant fish & chips. I hadn't been here before but they've been a few times and had eagerly recommended it to me prior to my visit. I hear "Georges" are all the rage up North.

The ambience is beautiful, it has a very cozy and comfy vibe. We took the sharing platter for the starters and traditional fish and chips for the main. The best thing on the starters platter was the Mac'n'cheese bites, they were flavorful and crispy on the outside. They also had good dips (garlic mayo and mushy peas). The fish n chips were really tasty!
Anagha D — Google review
Great service. They’ve got good options for lunch and dinner, as well fairly good deals! We had the fish and chips (large size), which was more than enough. Nice fish, good chips, bread was alright. Was pretty good! Recommend if you fancy fish and chips really.

Really enjoyed our time here. Staff were perfect and the food was a high standard. People do go here for the fish and chips it seems but the whole menu is great. I had a steak with was perfectly cooked and my deconstructed scotch egg to start was very tasty. The quirky decor is a nice touch and you can even eat in a beach hut !!! Cocktails were quirky and tasty. Great value too.

Wow. We were on Nottingham for a weekend and we were looking for somewhere to eat. I was a little unsure of this place because it’s just fish and chips. I was so pleased we did go. Great food different takes on fish and chips. Staff (Mat) was great and very friendly. He asked about our weekend and as we were going to the Motorpoint arena he gave us 10% discount drinks choices a little unusual but very nice all in all very happy. Well done

Omg It was amazing. We had a £30 voucher as a Christmas present and just got round to spending it . The decor is quirky the music is just right and couldn't fault the service. Food was delicious. Didn't have to wait to long to be served. Was a tad on the expensive side had to put quite a bit to it but we went for IT and fully enjoyed what we had. If we were to go again we would probably just have a main course. My only complaint was that we were sat upstairs it wasn't overly busy up there but they seated another couple at the table right next to us(when there were lots of other available tables) and they were very loud and having inappropriate conversations. It just spoiled the mood a little. It's sometimes nice to have space especially when they are not overly busy. It didn't stop the meal from being lovely though.

Tasty food and great atmosphere. Great quality for the price as well. The staff was very polite and welcoming. 10/10 recommend! Edit: Wanted to add a couple more photos from my latest visit.

Been meaning to visit this restaurant since it opened, and tonight didn't disappoint! If advise to book as was heaving as awhile and I can testify it's definitely down to the friendly staff, atmosphere and incredibly well prepared food. Only bad point I noticed and experienced was an ill placed bar that bottle necked the kitchen/serving area when there was more than 6-8 waiting customers. Price wise, spot on .. 3 drinks and 2 mains under £40 Edit 15/04/22 Popped in this evening, not been for a couple of years and will say the staff are still brilliant, very friendly and attentive without being pushy. The food - the grilled fish with sauce was amazing and the API steak pies equally, only thing that let down was the sides ... Chips looked and tasted like uncooked oven chips, hard and anaemic for both of us and my veg was raw hard undercooked green peas .. And looking around we noticed others had left the chips also Shame as last time the chips were proper chip shop 'slop' chips 2 mains and 2 cokes £41

Always a great experience. Whether you're in a group, couple or alone, the staff are always welcoming and friendly and the food is delicious. Good size portions. Not your average curry house, Kayal offers quality South Indian cuisine.

We visited an Indian restaurant in town and had an extremely disappointing experience. Not only did they make a serious error by serving non-vegetarian food instead of vegetarian, but the quality of the food was also subpar and not worth a second visit. The chilli paneer tasted like it was made with tomato ketchup, and the thali was bland and completely tasteless. The only things we remotely liked were the coffee and the soup. Overall, it was a careless and unimpressive experience.

Foods and service were great. Have enough space for customers and peaceful ambience. Rates were reasonable. We ordered Rabbit Fry, Beef roast, Pal Kappa, Kallushapp Fish Curry. Everything was good except the fish curry. Special mention for the cocktail Strawberry Muse. Will visit again soon!

I’ve been here three times, ordered different things, and have been very satisfied each time - i havent found a dish i dont like yet! This is definitely a more authentic indian restaurant and it is strong in its South Indian (specifically Kerelan) heritage, which leads to beautiful spiced and cooked fish curries and masala dosas. Also! The last time i was there, they had a magician/illusionist, which i (wrongly) brushed off as mildly entertaining parlor tricks. I still dont understand how he did any of those tricks even after googling them, we were all very impressed and entertained.
Tasmin — Google review
I recently visited this restaurant, and was extremely disappointed with the quality and quantity of food served. Not worth the money, not appropriately edible. I tried their biryani, which had bland to taste plus got hair in the dish, which puts me to question their cleanliness. Prawns curry wasnt even cooked well enough, nair masala dosa was another dish I tried which again wasnt upto the mark of an actual Masala dosa. In all honesty when bring culture in food you should keep up the standards of cooking a particular cuisine in order to present it which was lacking in every dish that me and my friends had ordered. Will not recommend anyone to go back to this restaurant.

Lovely atmosphere and delicious food, really recommend the masala dosas which are huge and great as a main meal. Really recommend the triveni juice (pictured here!) which looks like traffic lights in the form of strawberry, mango and kiwi juices. Service friendly and professional - thanks Adarsh! Love that they sell spices and snacks to take home too. Can't wait to try the peanut balls I'm taking home!

Food was nice and portions were large, I was expecting a little more for the price the flavours were good but the meat was pretty dry and tough. The service was okay staff were quick, friendly and helpful but very pushy for us to get starters and extras even despite a huge order. Another note is the bathroom was in a bad state, the soap dispenser was broken and cracked so it all oozed all over the sink and generally dirty. Wouldn’t come again but it was a nice experience and food wasn’t bad.

Went here for Mother’s Day and as we sat down I noticed it was a set menu and panicked. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. You got a lot for your money, portions huge and menu options were plentiful (I’m a veggie). Service was great. So attentive. Whilst we spent more on what we normally would (because of the set menu) we had no objections. We will be back to try the full menu. It was a lovely touch for the owner to come round and check everything was ok

Nice atmosphere and friendly service. However the quality of the sides were underwhelming. Very average tasting rice and naan options, left a lot more to be desired. My “very spicy” curry was slightly hotter than mild, starters were better than the curries. I understand that this place is a staple in Nottingham, but perhaps it is past its prime. The awards in the front would suggest that at least..

My mate and I were in Nottingham for a night out, and we stumbled upon this place for food. We were lucky enough to get a table right away, and the staff were super quick to take our orders for drinks and food. Now, here’s a heads up: the tables can be a bit wobbly, especially if you lean on them too much. I accidentally tipped over one of the tables while trying to move forward, and guess what? Two full beers went flying over the table, seating, and the floor! The staff cleaned everything up in a flash. They even moved us to a different table. As for the food, it was delicious! It was a bit spicy, even though we ordered a mild dish, but that’s just my taste. Overall, it was a great experience.

Wasn't sure what to expect due to the AA rosettes and inclusion in Michelin guide. I wasn't disappointed - great tastes, fresh herbs and spices and good texture. The Jalfrezi and Ostrich starter were the standout dishes. The chutneys were a little disappointing. So, was it better than my normal 'go to' restaurants? Probably not, but definitely worth a visit.

We had a nice meal and the service was good and attentive. I wasn’t a big fan of the bhajis but that’s just my particular taste. The keema naan was really good. The curry was nice - it was a butter chicken makhani , which had more heat to it than I anticipated. Overall it was a nice meal

I visited Memsaab on Friday after hearing rave reviews about this place for years. Everyone from my family, friends, and colleagues who’s been there has raved about their experience. Despite being hesitant to try highly recommended places, the combination of their pricing and the overwhelming positive feedback made me want to give it a try. Upon entering, we were greeted with dates, a traditional Muslim treat, and offered ample prayer space in the back. They also provided us with plenty of water to break our fast, which was incredibly thoughtful of the staff. After our prayers, we settled down and were promptly and efficiently served by attentive waiters, making our dining experience feel personalised. The staff was incredibly compassionate and accommodating of our dietary requirements. They explained each dish in detail and were genuinely interested in engaging with our group. The food was absolutely delicious. I started with the Amritsari Machli, a delectable dish served with a variety of tasty sauces. My husband and I then opted for a tandoori combination, and the staff kindly swapped out the prawns for another chicken tikka. We paired these dishes with peshwari naan, which perfectly complemented the flavours. As a food reviewer, I usually try places only once before moving on to the next, but Memsaab has certainly piqued my interest. I’m eager to return and explore more of their extensive menu.

We were using a 3 course gift experience set menu. Becca our server gave us chance to look at the menu before approaching us to take our order. The food came out evenly spaced and cleared our table after each course. Food was amazing and cocktails were tasty.

First time at this pub/restaurant. We had the lunchtime special £8 for a soft drink and food and an extra £2 for a beer. The food was very nice for the price and the service was good too. Very good for a simple lunch.

We was never waiting long for our drinks, the food was lovely and all the staff were friendly, professional and couldn’t do enough for us. The birthday girl definitely enjoyed herself. Thank you very much guys!

We had an absolute blast the servers were amazing. Food was delivered in a very timely manner after we ordered and they were very helpful checking in when we needed drinks and top up. Chloe and Abbie were our servers they were fantastic honestly lovely people that really cared about having an enjoyable time while doing other jobs. All the staff were also amazing but we got those too the most and we'd really recommend coming here for an impromptu bottomless brunch. We've really enjoyed ourselves and will definitely come here again.

Tamatanga is a vibrant Indian restaurant located in Nottingham, offering a unique dining experience with its relaxed atmosphere and funky murals. The restaurant is known for its thalis, which are a selection of curries served with rice, naan bread, and more. They offer standard thalis as well as the larger Tamatanga thali for those with bigger appetites. The menu includes diverse options and the staff provides attentive service.
The place is nice, when we arrived (Sunday around 1 pm) it was nearly empty (it was much fuller when we were leaving); We’ve been served promptly, food arrived as it was ready (so not all plates together) - they do have this information on the cutlery set. Food was nice; service very courteous. Bathroom (ladies) was clean and very nicely decorated. Except that my drink was taken away before I had a chance to finish it, everything was all right. We had 4 main meals, 2 lasis, 1 juice and 1 coke and we paid £92. We would return if we are in the area again.

🌟🌟🌟🌟 A Flavourful Journey at Tamatanga Nottingham. Tamatanga offers a vibrant and contemporary take on Indian cuisine, blending traditional flavors with modern flair. During our visit, we explored a variety of dishes, each presenting its unique taste profile. What We Tried: • Papdi Chaat: This dish featured chickpeas, whole wheat crisps, mint chutney, sweetened yoghurt, blueberries, and tamarind chutney. While the sauces were tangy and refreshing, the potatoes lacked the expected freshness, slightly diminishing the overall experience. • Amritsari Fish Fry: Described as spiced white fish bites with a Gurkha roasted tomato and garlic chutney, the fish appeared to be frozen and lacked depth in flavor. The accompanying chutney didn’t enhance the dish as anticipated. • Railway Cabin Lamb (Hot!): A standout dish! The lamb, slow-cooked with garlic, whole red chillies, and curry leaves, was tender and packed with rich, spicy flavors. Paired with the chilli cheese naan, it created a delightful combination that we’d highly recommend. • Punjabi Butter Chicken: This comfort curry, featuring chicken tikka pieces in a creamy tomato-based sauce, was flavorful and well-executed. The chicken was tender, and the sauce had a balanced richness that made it a dish we’d return for. The ambiance at Tamatanga is lively and welcoming, with a modern decor that complements the dining experience. While some dishes exceeded expectations, others left room for improvement. Verdict: Tamatanga presents a diverse menu that caters to various palates. While certain dishes like the Railway Cabin Lamb and Punjabi Butter Chicken shine, others may benefit from refinement. Overall, it’s a worthy spot for those seeking a contemporary Indian dining experience

This is one of the best places I would like to eat whenever I visit Nottingham. It delivers delicious Indian cuisine that everyone can enjoy. And we never forget to order mango lassi each time we go there. It has enough space for family/ friends outings or to celebrate special occasions with your loved ones. The place is very beautifully decorated providing a calm and vibrant atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Great tasting food for a great price. I cannot fault anything. The food came out quickly though be aware it comes out 'as and when it's ready' so you may find a party of you all tucking in at different times. We've been a few times now and love it!

Visited for a Saturday afternoon bottomless brunch and was seriously impressed. Friendly, attentive service, a great flow of drinks, and delicious food. Would absolutely recommend

I visited Tamatanga today and really enjoyed the experience. I had the luscious lamb salad. The lamb was tender and full of flavour. The salad was fresh and well put together. The service was efficient and friendly, and the staff were very accommodating with the older person I was dining with, which I really appreciated. The decor was pleasant and made for a nice atmosphere. A couple of small things to be aware of: the restaurant was a little on the cold side inside, so it might be worth bringing an extra layer. Also, the menu does not include calorie information, and it is quite hard to find nutritional details online, which could be tricky if you track calories. That said, the food was incredible, the service was great, and I would happily go again. I am already looking forward to my next visit!

Very cozy, i was craving for cream Catalina, and it turned out to be exactly what I needed. I ordered also the Sweet & Sticky PX Beef both was absolutely delicious! The beef was perfectly crispy on the outside and tender inside, with a rich, balanced sweet and spicy flavor.

We came on a Sunday with friends and went for the Menu del Dia which was a served dish style tapas. Consisting of Catalan Bread (ok) Spanish Olives, Cod Taco's (good), Teriyaki Pork Belly (very good), Sweet Crispy Beef (very good) Lamb Flatbread (very good). Our friends had other dishes including Crispy Squid (ok). Overall very well cooked tapas dishes, staff were very nice, the place was lacking that Spanish buzz at 2.30pm on a Sunday afternoon as we were sat in the rear of the restaurant.

Came for tapas; crispy squid, Spanish hot flatbread, meatballs. All reasonably priced, squid was slightly tough but batter was lovely and light and was overall fab. Flat bread was perfect and so delicious, meatballs were also spot on. Sangria passion fruit and mango was also great. Good vibe with plenty of tables and service was really good with polite staff. Mix up on the reciept but was easily sorted. Booked the tables so no wait required. Would recommend!

Our party comprised of 3 couples with each couple having the set menu (Del Dias). This occasion was for both my husband and my retirement and we had been here before. In our party one couple had their complete meal (except the spicy beef) within 40 minutes, the second couple were still waiting for 3 dishes including the spicy beaf by 50 minutes and we (being the third couple) had only had olives, tomato bread and cauliflower by 1 hour 15 minutes. Staff kept saying that they were waiting to complete “the tables” order and would we like more drinks. No. Just food. I went to the bar to enquire about or order twice. Eventually after an hour two portions of beef arrived, but did not get delivered to us (couple 3). We asked again where our order was and got delivered just the sauce that should have been with the beef. No beef though. After another 15 minutes we (couple 3) finally got our meal, but we were beyond enjoyment. Our party were offered drinks, but none came for couple number 3. There’s a theme here. To say that we were disappointed and felt totally overlooked and isolated was an understatement. We were in Baresca for 3 hours and left feeling desolate. It should have been a happy meal but was not. Not a very happy retirement. I would not recommend to anyone
Helen G — Google review
Very nice food, and a good variety of options. I met up with a few friends for lunch here. I love tapas, so any chance to sample a place like that is a treat. This one is a classic example of city-centre hipster-chic fusion-food. We'd booked, so there was no queue, and it's a good job too because the place was pretty busy. The food was good, and there was a nice range available. One of our party is gluten-free, so it's always nice to have a place that's got options. Unfortunately, one of our dishes was completely missed by the staff, which isn't ideal, hence only 3-stars for service.
Jon B — Google review
We ordered two drinks and both were very watered down, in addition to being overpriced for the quality. We also felt some discomfort from the staff, as they asked us several times if we weren’t going to order food, which made us feel a bit pressured.
Maite G — Google review
There was a great choice of options for both vegetarian and non vegetarian diners which made sharing Tapas super easy. The food was wonderful , lovely flavours, nicely presented and generous portion sizes. The service was warm and friendly ensuring all dining needs were met. We were not rushed from our table despite a time limit and the atmosphere was good and we were seated at a good table in the middle of the restaurant....... I dont think the experience could have been better! And what a bargain!! Thankyou First Tables and well done Baresca Nottingham
Jill T — Google review
Visited for lunch mid-October and had the Menu del Dia. Was disappointed the olives appetiser was just 4 olives, but ironically came with 6 cocktail sticks, and bread starter was very also small. All the main dish food portions were also very small, and while we appreciated it is tapas so supposed to be small plates, it felt like the portion sizes were much smaller than previous visits, and we didnt feel very full when we left. The front part of the restaurant was also cold as they left the door wide open. Ok for a light meal, but at £18 per head plus a bottle of wine, it came £80 and felt pricy for what we had. Based on previous visits we were expecting to feel fuller afterwards, but this time it didn’t feel like value for money and not sure we’ll be returning soon.

Italian restaurant
Nestled in the bohemian Hockley district, Sexy Mamma Love Spaghetti is a charming Italian eatery that captures the essence of Naples. The cozy venue offers sidewalk dining and a handwritten menu that changes daily, featuring classic Italian dishes like tagliatelle, ravioli, and tiramisu. The ambiance is perfect for a laid-back Valentine's date with its quirky charm, candles, and low-level lighting.
What an afternoon! I had a lunch date with my favorite people at a newly discovered pasta haven. The host and server were incredibly polite and welcoming. They helped us choose a vegetarian pasta and even made a special one just for us. We had three different styles of pasta, and voila, each had a unique and delicious taste. Their top-notch attitude deserves a hats off!
Atin G — Google review
My wife and I had a date meal in the evening. I had Beef tortellini, my wife had the anchovy pasta. The menu was small with a few meals. This meant the food was freshly made and you could taste the freshly made pasta and it tasted lovely. The beef tortellini had a nice filling and nice sauce. The anchovy pasta has a nice fish taste. They even free of charge gave us some bread to mop up the pasta. For desert we had tiramisu and panna cota. The tiramisu was lovely made and tasted really nice with a light alcoholic. The Panna Cota has a nice lemon flavour. Only complaint the lighting was not great in the restaurant. Friendly staff and service was good.
Robert P — Google review
the food was very overpriced considering i could make something very similar at home, £15-16 for pasta is crazy, we had the ciabatta and oil for starters which was nice but ran out of oil after 30 seconds… we asked for more oil and reluctantly were given some, staff were friendly enough but the place had a weird vibe, it was so small hot and cramped, and biggest thing for me was NO MENUS!!! you had to pick what you wanted from a chalkboard, fine, authentic or whatever but me and my partner were sat right infront of the drinks menu, so people were constantly looking over at our table and i had to keep moving out of the way so they could read it… overall probably wouldn’t go back
Bronwyn M — Google review
Wonderful lunchtime date. Beautiful authentic food, and the staff were attentive and friendly. The garlic and chilli prawns were superb. Had a wonderful homely, family feel about the place. Will certainly be back.
Alexander H — Google review
Great food with an authentic Italian feel. A menu that changes but constantly gives great quality food. The waiters were very welcoming and our food came out less than 10 minutes after ordering. The only flaw was it took a short while to get the bill after ordering and other tables got theirs first however it was just because they were busy. Definitely recommend for date nights or dinner with friends they also have outdoor seating for warm days.
Bailey I — Google review
The food was absolutely mouthwatering, and the customer service was out of this world! Plus, the location was perfect, and we didn't have to wait long for our scrumptious meals. What an amazing experience!
R D — Google review
As we arrived, they put a line through the king prawn spaghetti, but as we were seated, I spotted more prawns arriving, so I was happy! We waited about 10 minutes for a table so it was not too bad. We didn't realise how small the restaurant is but it didn't bother us, although it is a little bit cramped. The music was very loud, which was unnecessary as the atmosphere would have been better without it. We'd been told that all the pasta and sauces are pre-cooked. We did notice all the pre-cooked pasta in the chiller, but the food came out in record time and was hot, so it didn't bother us. The turnaround is so quick that it's a great idea to pre cook the pasta & sauces & just add the 'fresh ingredients'. We also found that the sauces were watery, but I think that, again, it is down to the pre-cooking, as it's not had enough time to thicken. It's not a relaxing restaurant as they want you in and out as quickly as possible, but it's worth a visit for the experience.
Bourne23 — Google review
We went to look at the menu and were enticed by the amazing smells coming from inside. The menu is small and changed daily, but with a great choice. This tells me that there is very little to no waste and the produce is fresh. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and would 100% come back.

Our first time here… wow! The food was delicious, tasty and filling! We ordered more of the sticky chicken! We came here as a birthday treat and thought the food was delicious. Our server was polite and attentive and we did not feel rushed. There were steps down at the entrance we went in. However, I think there was a street level entrance. The toilets were up two flights of stairs.

Mowgli is just unreal !! We went to the one in Leicester a few years ago and it’s just as good, infact better, than we remember😍 Indian Street Food.. there is SO much to choose from !! As the dishes are small plates, they recommend having 2-3 dishes each🤌🏼 We enjoyed the Gunpowder chicken (chefs kiss 😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨), Mowgli Sticky Chicken & the Mowgli House Lamb, all with Basmati Rice.. delicious !! Oh & the Yoghurt Chat Bombs.. gorgeousssss😍 Honestly could not recommend enough.. we will definitely be back as we want to try even more of the dishes🤤 @jjjourneys__ on Insta ✨

Enjoyable Indian small-plates style restaurant. I had the butter chicken and the new black daal with a portion of roti. The black daal was really tasty, and quite a substantial portion for a "small plate". The butter chicken was pretty traditional, maybe not as rich as I'd expected, but a very solid effort. The rotis were served in pairs, and were small, a little larger than a CD, with an enjoyable chew that reminded me more of a thick paratha. I left satisfied, and felt the meal was overall pretty good value.
Chris G — Google review
Personally, I will not recommend this place if you are looking for good Indian food. It was my wife's birthday and we decided to go to Mowgli Nottingham but it was a complete waste of money. Every single order was tasteless. We ordered kids' gunpowder chicken it was very chewy and overcooked ( almost burnt), the roti was overcooked and it was crispy like popodum, Puri was over-fried. The House lamb dish was tasteless, and there were hardly any lamb pieces, it was just like a lamb paste. The sticky chicken was a bit better but still quite chewy.
Khurrum — Google review
We have visited other branches of Mowgli and found this one a little less enjoyable. I think the team were under a lot of pressure , it was also a very hot day so maybe there was not enough staff to cope with the amount of people about on this particular Friday evening. Unfortunately one of the waitresses fainted whilst taking our order, again I think the heat was too much for her. My husband helped to get her up along with another member of staff and I had a fan with me which we offered to her, she carried on working but we noticed she had a couple more moments where she was not well, again maybe the circumstances of the day. We couldn’t fault the quality and flavours of the food , we had the sharing meal for £25 per person, the only thing we can’t get our heads round is that the Yogurt Chat Bombs were brought to the table and there was five of them, why was there not six? Five is hardly an equal sharing amount!! Overall it was an ok meal out

My wife and I had the sharer meal. 25 pounds each. It's good value, three curries two meat one vegetarian, roti bread, Indian style potatoes and yoghurt (lassi) filled starters. With Ice cream for pudding. My wife also had a Mango soda. It was lovely except the starter but wife liked it. The Ice cream looked handmade and crafted well. The chickpeas were very filling.

Lovely vegetarian only restaurant, service was impeccable. The menu changes every month so we're excited to go back soon! A hidden gem out of the main Beeston town centre, it feels like a small friendly business which is thriving. We had cauliflower tacos, cream spinach, mushroom korma (from the specials) and paella with the grillo white wine. All of this was delicious, with a superb mix of delicate flavours throughout. The food was nicely varied, there were different sauces and components with a good mix of flavours, particularly in both of the mains. The staff were also bubbly and very helpful which was refreshing.

Fabulous little venue with tasty food and friendly staff. Thoroughly enjoyed my visit to cafe roya, it was my sister’s birthday and the staff went above and beyond to make her feel special. Really appreciate small venues like this that have staff who make you feel welcome and comfortable in their restaurant. All dishes were super fresh and tasty making me want to come back for more and work my way through the menu. Along with their brilliant staff and food they make stunning cocktails which again , you can’t stop at just the one! Can’t wait to visit again, very tempted by the sound of the lunch menus!

No.Twelve is a family-run restaurant located in the heart of Nottingham city center, offering an elevated approach to plant-based cuisine. It has gained recognition as one of the best vegan restaurants in the UK, with accolades from sources like The Telegraph. The restaurant provides an upscale dining experience with a well-crafted menu that appeals to both vegans and non-vegans.
Well, what can I say? I'm a meat eater and was intrigued as to whether plant based food could be interesting and tasty. Let me tell you, it can! We had the taster menu which i think was a good choice for a first timer. The flavours were amazing. A couple of courses were a bit strong for me in taste but overall the food was exceptional. The work that must go into creating these dishes is phenomenal. The staff were professional and friendly and the setting was lovely. I loved the old building with some of the original features. If you're sceptical about eating plant based food, give it a try. You won't be disappointed.

An amazing evening. Arrived to a full restaurant and sat straight away. Not a large place and it created a cosy atmosphere with every one enjoying the company. We had chosen the taster and staff discussed the menu. Very knowledgeable about the entire menu and its ingredients. The evening passed with excellent food and service. With more than a few memorable wow moments and before we knew it it was over. Although not the end of the night as walking out we met the great man himself. We wish him and his staff all the best in whatever the future brings.

Better than what some consider to be the best! We have been to similar restaurants in Birmingham and London and No. Twelve is hands down better value for money and better tasting. It is so hard to choose a favourite dish they were all so amazing! Camembert was ridiculous and the sticky hispi just as great. It’s such a shame that another great place is leaving the high street, we travelled from Shropshire to visit but think we will be visiting again before they close!

Out first visit to No12 and what a gem of a restaurant. Cosy atmosphere, very knowledgeable & friendly staff but most importantly, the food! As long standing vegans we find it hard to find great plant based grub. This place delivers in spades and we’ll definitely be going back. Thank you to Ritchie & his fab team for making my hubby’s birthday.

I took my daughter to Number 12 as a birthday present. We chose the tasting menu and the wine to accompany the meal. Wow it was absolutely amazing. The service was incredible, the staff are so attentive and knowledgeable. Each course and wine is explained in great detail. I’m not vegan and I’ve eaten at a fair few multi stared Michelin star restaurants and this would give them a run for their money. The food really makes you smile and plays with your tastebuds. Fabulous The cocktails were very reasonably priced and perfectly mixed The restaurant has a lovely relaxed atmosphere and is spotlessly clean and welcoming. I can’t recommend it enough

We LOVE, LOVE, LOVE No 12. It’s a little hidden gem of a place with such flavourful and perfect plant based food. It is always well worth the visit and our absolute favourite is the baked Camembert which has a different twist every time it’s on the menu. The balsamic caviar we had last night was amazing on the salad and the chocolate and roast hazelnut dessert was too beautiful to eat and not overly sweet. The English Halfpenny wine is also a massive hit with us and has such a great flavour it has really put British wines on the map for us. We took my parents here for mums birthday and they thoroughly enjoyed their food so much that they’d love to come back. They are meat eaters and were certainly not disappointed by the lack of yucky flesh on their plate in any way!! High fives guys.

I’ve wanted to visit here for some time after hearing lots of good things. I popped in for lunch service and they were luckily able to accommodate me. The venue is beautiful, situated in a lovely courtyard and the building itself bursting with character. Service was friendly and efficient. The food, as anticipated, was delicious. It is tapas style and 2-3 dishes per person are recommended. For lunch I found 2 were sufficient for me. The food is wonderfully fresh and flavourful, other guests dining at the time were not vegan but were highly impressed with their dishes and all plates were returned empty. I can’t wait to revisit for dinner soon.

Absolutely beautiful food 💚 We really enjoyed ourselves today. The lunch time special is a great offer! We shared everything between 3 of us (ordered extra plates alongside the lunch offer) It worked out to around £29 each. We were expecting the portions to be small, but they weren't at all! The best thing about it is it's all vegan! I'm not vegan but my friend is and it was so nice for her to have to worry about accidentally being spiked with animal products. The food is so filling and is a real treat for the senses. The staff were also super nice and attentive. We would definitely recommend and will definitely be coming back!

Japanese restaurant
Kushiyaki restaurant
Kushi-ya is a laid-back Japanese restaurant located in Nottingham, offering a variety of small plates, skewers, and desserts alongside an array of cocktails, wine, and sake. Tucked away at the bottom of an alleyway off Long Row, this intimate restaurant has garnered significant acclaim. Notably, it was hailed as 'restaurant of the year' by renowned critic Jay Raynor and received a Michelin recommendation.
The shop is much bigger now with lots of seating. Portion size of the lunch menu is on the smaller side, just enough for ladies, for men you’ll probably need to order few more side dishes to be fully satisfied. Overall very tasty and well presented, skewers were tender and covered in savoury sauce, prawn toasts were crispy and not overly oily.
Vivian — Google review
Super exiting Japanese small plates. We ate everything on the menu and doubled up on all the skewers. Literally everything that we tasted was delicious and surprised us. The service was warm and efficient, the staff knowledgeable and all friendly. Interesting drinks menu.
Toby H — Google review
Absolutely fantastic Japanese tapas spot. The cocktails were unusual and incredible — really creative flavours. Every small plate was delicious, but the prawn toast stole the show: light, crisp, and bursting with flavour. The edamame packed a punch, the skewers were full of taste, and the puddings were something else! Can’t wait to go back.

My boyfriend and I came for date night dinner and the food here is absolutely phenomenal - I’m still dreaming of the matcha cheesecake! I love the vibe here as well, exactly what I’d want from a Japanese restaurant. Service was prompt and quick and I would suggest booking well in advance as people were getting turned away during our 8pm booking.

The food was incredible, cooked to perfection. Dishes were a good size and the food was divine. The drink was also great. Enjoyed the experience. Staff service was slow however it was busy. It’s took time to get our drinks ordered and the food between plates was a bit slow. Positive part of the service the staff was really friendly and made the experience great ! However the food made up for this. The atmosphere was also great. Will come again and definitely recommend the establishment.

Been here for lunch! Was surprised to see how naturally bright it is inside and spacious! The deco is calming and gave us a nice space to chat. Food is amazing as well, it is a twist on Japanese BBQ on sticks! We tried that set lunch and added a beef tongue as well!

The food was absolutely delicious, especially the shrimp crackers and the prawn sando! The service was outstanding, super friendly and took the time to explain everything to us with great care and attention. Highly recommended!

Utterly delicious simplicity done right. The beef skewers, chicken skewers with that raw egg dip and oyster mushroom skewers were my winners. Prawn toast was a clever and tasty reinvention, worthy of writing tomes over (as many notable critics have) though I found it too heavy handed on the eggy furikake. As was the gochujang old fashioned, imaginative and memorable. Overall a very satisfying lunchtime delight!

Nestled near the Ice Stadium in Nottingham, Desi DownTown is a charming family-run Indian restaurant that offers a delightful blend of traditional and modern curry house dishes. With its inviting atmosphere and friendly staff, this eatery ensures every guest feels right at home. The extensive menu features an array of flavorful options, including standout items like their chicken biryani, which is both satisfying and budget-friendly.
Excellent food and service at reasonable prices. Staff were very accommodating and polite, and the food was to die for. Complements to the chef. New ownership and the only downside was no alcoholic beverage, although you were allowed to bring your own. Apparent lack of customers, but I think that was down to the open planning. Put some blinds up and make it a bit more private looking, and it's definitely a winner. It's certainly worth a visit and is now my goto restaurant for Indian cuisine.

Didn't have lamb even though it said on the menu, served chicken without asking if that was an ok alternative. Only one option of rose wine which was warm. Staff was lovely and helpful I guess but atmosphere was dead. No mints or hot flannel at the end either 😞

It’s centrally located with lots of seating. The staff Serena is very friendly and efficient. Her recommendations were spot on. The mixed grill plater is well prepared, cooked to perfection and very tasty! The curries are well spiced and delicious with the moist briyani rice and freshly prepared naan. They have a shisha place at the back of the restaurant. It’s a Great evening meal and would visit again.

This place is amazing!! Me and my partner have been twice now and the food is brilliant. The grilled meat is the best, so soft and great spices everytime. Very reasonably priced as well - the tawa (big dish in the picture) is only £25!! Even drinks are reasonably priced compared to other restaurants. Portions are good, we always end up with food left over to take home 🤣

Waitress was more interested in her phone than serving. Took forever to get served, not very attentive at clearing tables, very limited menu, very limited drinks, didn't even know what a Lime and Soda was, asked for Bacardi and coke and 10 mins later I was asked to choose a different drink as didn't have it, so ordered Rum and coke from bar drinks menu instead... go figure. Don't bother, save your money. Food bland, service terrible, toilets flooded so had to use disabled which were disgusting.

A very extensive menu, and very unusual menu for a curry house....👍👍👍. Food was very good, and service was attentive... Also has a very good "shisha Lounge" at the back, and also serves good coffees and desserts.... UPDATE:- NO MASKS. REQUIRED HERE...

Vegan restaurant
Doughnotts, formerly known as The Nottingham Doughnut Co., has transformed the ordinary doughnut into a delectable indulgence. Established in 2015, this family-run business has expanded from a small kitchen operation to multiple stores and a bustling bakery in Nottingham. With over 10,000 doughnuts sold weekly, their handcrafted treats come in an array of imaginative flavors and generous toppings.
After 10 minutes of indecision in front of a display full of tempting doughnuts, I asked the staff for their best pick. She smiled like she was sharing a secret and handed me a doughnut that melted in my mouth and woke up my taste buds! I almost ordered a second one, but reminded myself—it’s a dessert, not a fruit. Highly recommend this place; they offer more than 8 delicious varieties, and each one deserves the spotlight.

Doughnut sthat will definitely satisfy your cravings. Would definitely recommend the more expensive specialty premium doughnuts - it's worth the higher price. The portion size is huge with plenty of fillings. The usual ones are okay but not anything special. Shop is clean with very friendly staff.

Quality, Extremely tasty my favourite sweet treat 😋 and really light dough so it won't sit heavy but will defo cure you sweet tooth craving. The coffee and sweet for 5 quid before 12 is a bargin
David P — Google review
Yes, but there's no getting away from the fact that you're spending £4 on one doughnut. However, the doughnuts are delicious and filled to the brim with delicious fillings and toppings. I would rather spend that on one doughnut from this place than a pound on those crap doughnuts from the supermarket that seem to be filled with jam through a pipette. I went on a busy Saturday and the place had a good energy, they had a great variety of doughnuts on offer and were quick to offer advice for those unsure or indecisive. It was great to see that you can also order for delivery through the normal apps.

I don't know, I'm quite disappointed after trying it for second time. I asked for a allergens as a gelatine, which one is veggie which one not and I was told - I don't have alegren sheet. Then I realised myself that each dougnut has a alegrens next to it, bu5 then why the lady selling it didn't inform me of it? Then I was asked - is it okay to bag it and I thought I will be given a bag where is actually safe to store food not thrown in big bag that you normally carry your food. It's a shame but I don't think I will be coming back. I'm not a fan of writing a reviews but what concerns me that you cannot accommodate people with different dietary issues other than 'vegan'.
Alex P — Google review
Really nice selection of Doughnuts and a very friendly young Lady served and was in and out within minutes. Only small thing that lets it down is they need to get paper bags that can hold the boxes of Doughnuts horizontally but thats me being picky.
Gareth B — Google review
Just a small doorway leading down to a fantastic coffee and doughnut bar, but a big treat. When we visited half the doughnuts were vegan (nine in total!) and they're spectacular! We had a biscoff, PB J, cinnamon swirl and choc cherry. I honestly don't know how to choose which was best, they're all incredible and very well priced especially as they're a great size. All very, very fresh. I've only given one star less than maximum because they didn't have any non-dairy milk for the coffee although I believe they usually do. For a Saturday morning though that was a shame. It definitely won't put me off coming back again and again though

The Embankment is a historic pub located on the city side of Trent Bridge in Nottingham. Housed in a Grade II-listed building that was once Boots Store No.2, it has a rich history dating back to 1907. The venue offers spaces for conferences, weddings, and events, and features amenities such as a skittle alley, snooker tables, bar, and catering services.
Cracking pub, easily my favourite during our recent stay for a few days in Nottingham. The building is superb, with the internals furnished and decorated really well and done so in the spirit of the building's origins. It has an interesting history worth reading up on. There are plenty of seating areas all with their own character, it is like a Tardis as keep finding more areas and nooks. Great range of beers on keg and cask, and a well stocked fridge with a decent discount if taking them away - I grabbed a couple. Staff were very friendly, knowledgeable and clearly have a passion for the beer they are serving. If we go back to Nottingham, this will be a must visit for us. We didn't eat here so can't comment on food, so regard the 5 stars for food as for drink instead! p.s. I will let you know how good the Vault City Creme is once I've drunk it!!

My partner organised my 50th birthday to be held here yesterday 20/09/2025. At first all was good until I saw the food that he had paid £300 for, 3 small trays of finger sandwiches, a bowl of salad a tray of pork pie and sausage rolls and 2 very small slate boards with cubed pork belly chunks and chicken skewers. Be lucky if the amount of food cost £100 let alone £300. Was only enough food for 12 guests nowhere near for 24 people, he only booked it there as it said it had a skittle alley and I play in a woman’s team every Thursday through the winter months, this wasn’t a skittle alley at all there were pins on a plate on a carpeted area and the balls were more like rough coconuts, you couldn’t play at all. All in all you could say that my birthday celebrations were ruined. The manager jade didn’t seem interested in what we had to say about it.

I booked the conservatory for a small family gathering and it was just perfect. Really cosy with strings of twinkly fairy lights, and super warm despite it being January! The buffet food was lovely and we really enjoyed having the space to ourselves but also having easy access to the bar and the excellent choice of beer. Thanks to all of the staff who were so hospitable and helpful.

This Castle Rock pub is great. Lots of space and lots of outdoor space some of which is covered for rainy days or shade for sunny days. We went with friends for a Sunday roast. Food took quite a while to come but when it did we totally forgot about that. It was amazing and huge! Good value for money. There were so many different veggies, roast carrots and potatoes, mash, green beans, broccoli, red cabbage and then a huge piece of stuffing, Yorkie and the meat. And one of us had the veggie option which looked good. My husband made the comment that he’d have liked it on a bigger plate but then we decided that we actually liked it all piled up as you kept getting surprises as you went down through it and the food stayed hotter. The beers at this pub are brilliant. They have a huge range of craft beers, real ales and more. We sat in the conservatory to eat then moved outside for a final drink in very slightly cooler air. The staff were friendly.

There is no better pub chip than the embankment pub chip. Whatever alchemy is happening in their kitchen is truly beyond my understanding but I am grateful for it. Nothing is crispier and fluffier than a chip from the embankment. I would name my first born Embankment Pub Chip were I blessed with an offspring. I just finished a bowl of embankment pub chips and i am already tearing up out of grief but also .. gratitude. Thank you embankment. Also very nice staff and lovely pints.

This pub is in a formerr Boots Pharmacy and is an historic building. It has an interesting and varied menu and the staff are very helpful. I have taken my walking group here several times as the Embankment pub is just yards away from the River Trent where some excellent waterside walks can be enjoyed. Ask the staff if you can see the upstairs rooms which are amazing and used for weddings. A very interesting venue.

Kean's Head is highly recommended for both great pints and delicious Sunday roasts, making it a popular choice among locals and visitors alike.
This is a gem. Two of the best things (beer and curry) in one place. The range of beers, cider and whisky is phenomenal, and the curry is divine. The only regret is not having time to spend the afternoon here and work my way through the keg and cask offerings

Moving from LA to Scotland with our two dogs - 1 night stopover in Nottingham, jet lagged and looking for somewhere central with good beer, good food, and dog friendly. The Keans Head knocked it out the park. Easy to make reservation by email - good back and forth with John. Got there around 8pm, lovely warm and welcoming room - smiley faces behind the bar greet us enthusiastically, knew who we were, showed us where the dog treats were and let us try the local pale ale. Our table was ready promptly and we had fabulous Indian food along with another pint. Service was immaculate, food quality excellent and great value for money. If you like beer - go here. If you like Indian food - go here. If you have dogs - go here. If you fit all three of the criteria, you can’t afford to miss this place. Highly recommended.

A fine selection of cask and keg beers, nice welcome from the bar staff. Indian "tapas" for lunch (although a full menu was available). Traditional pub in a very lovely part of the city centre.

If you like beer, whiskey and or curry this is the place to go. Fabulous Indian Style Fusion Food. Vegetarians & even Vegans catered for according to the menu. My vegetarian friends really enjoy the food here. If you're a carnivore you're easily catered for. This combined with a huge range If draught beers (real ales and craft) and a huge range of Belgian and German bottled beers. You can't book a table and it can get busy. However if you are not in a rush a table becomes free in about 30 minutes or so. It's a great venue. Also as a bonus there are about 30+ Whiskies from Scotland and Ireland.

Very, very good pub. Quite a small space. Good music at conversational level. No TVs. Very reasonable prices for such a good and centrally located pub. Lots of beers, largers and spirits (lots of whiskeys) that are not found in "normal" pubs or supermarkets. One of the best onion bhaji I have ever had. NCP carpark nearby... but why drive to this place! If I come back to Nottingham, I will come back here.

Located in the heart of Hockley, The Angel Microbrewery is not just a pub but also a historical landmark dating back to the 1600s. This lively venue has seen it all, from being a brothel to housing a chapel before transforming into its current form. It's known for its raucous live shows and has even hosted early performances by bands like Arctic Monkeys.
Our first time visiting this establishment, we travelled to see Dunes, an excellent band from Newcastle. We enjoyed our food, there's a great selection of craft ales available and all the staff are polite, friendly and helpful. The old chapel upstairs is where the bands play, it's a truly beautiful building and full credit to the sound engineer, the sound was excellent. Fantastic to see great effort put I to the vegetarian and vegan options. So much choice, seitan on the menu too which was nice to see I like mine a little tougher so might have needed some battering before the first boil, but I was absolutely thrilled to be able to order it. It was good. The veg was lovely and so was the Yorkie and gravy. Toilets are frankly the worst I've seen in some time. Hot tap completely destroyed, facilities a bit rank to be honest. Service was generally okay, first chap we said hello to was really nice, fella who brought our food order was decent too. Bar staff were unengaged and didn't really seem to care about anything but the basics of why they were there which is a shame. It didn't feel very welcoming. DJ was a nice touch, the soul and soft disco played was really nice. Sort the toilets and the customer experience side of things and this place would be incredible.

Always love a visit to The Angel - great old fashioned atmosphere! However I’ve knocked a star off for what is (for me personally) a terrible beer selection. I always struggle to find a decent pint here; yesterday I counted on the boards 12 IPA type ales, along with 1 stout, several lagers & ciders and not one bitter. Why do pubs today assume that everyone wants IPA? All I want is a smooth, drinkable bitter like Landlord, Abbott, Old Pecular.

Fat Hippo in Nottingham is a popular burger joint known for its stacked, juicy, and messy burgers that are a delight to indulge in. Located near Broadway cinema on Broad Street, this chain restaurant offers a variety of options including beef, chicken, and vegan burgers along with an array of dirty fries. The menu caters to different dietary preferences with gluten-free and kids' options available.
My wife found this place on her way to the Nottingham arena and wanted to take me there. Upon arrival, we received a warm welcome and even without a reservation on a Saturday lunchtime were shown to our choice of table in the window. The staff were great and very attentive, without being over the top. The food arrived in good time and was amazing, I had a meat burger and my wife the chicken. The food was hot and well presented and very tasty 2 meals with a side and 2 drinks came to just over £50 which I think was reasonable. I would definitely go again and have recommended it to friends

Food was alright but the portion was rather small considering the price. The Frickles were especially disappointing. Think it is overpriced overall. Service was good and the waiter was helpful and kind. Food came in decent time. We arrived for dinner but apparently half of the restaurants were booked out, so booking beforehand is recommended for peak meal times. We sat next to the front door and there were a lot of delivery drivers picking up the meal, not being very polite and constantly slamming the front door which was disruptive.

Overall it isn’t a bad place to visit, the food wasn’t awful, the best thing were the tater tots they were lovely. I had the Caesar Sando the chicken inside was lovely, however the bread was just too greasy, it stated a toasted loaf, however it was fried bread. The other thing that frustrated me was me and my partner ordered a Pina colada drink, whilst waiting for it we saw the bartender poor a can of the drink into the glass and put a slice of pineapple in it and called it a day. The cocktails are £9 each and we paid for a can of Pina colada. On the website it shows the cocktail with a twister on top we didn’t get that. Overall, food was ok, drinks were highly disappointing and customer service was good from the waitresses.

Overall I was really excited to try this place with my partner for a date night as I’ve heard good things about it. However as soon as we stepped into the restaurant we got seated in a 2 person table in the middle of the restaurant. I looked around and saw all the other couples sitting on the sofa seats. I politely asked the waitress if she could move us to the sofa seat because I prefer to sit next to my partner not opposite each other. She rudely declined and said that she absolutely needs this table as it’s fully booked, although there was still other sofa tables around I understood this and moved on. However around 5 minutes later she proceeded to sit a 2 person couple at the exact same table, I thought okay maybe someone will join them later that’s why they need the 4 seats one but no one did and they left before us. I found it extremely disrespectful as first of all she lied to us about needing the table for a party of 4 and second of all why could this couple sit there but we couldn’t? She also came to collect our orders after literally 2 minutes and when I said can we have 5 more minutes she looked mad and didn’t approach us again until I called her over. Then I saw the waitress laughing about a guest to her college I’m not sure if it was me or someone else but as soon as I looked over at them she stopped and pretend to be working. This honestly destroyed the whole mood and atmosphere for me and I think she could see that I was frustrated and in a bad mood so she wrote that note on the receipt, still expecting us to tip her. Honestly the food wasn’t bad but not with the price as we paid 50 pounds for a started and two hamburgers with coke but what really destroyed the experience for me was the unprofessionalism of the waitress. She seemed to be in a bad mood and took it out on us and I’m upset that we didn’t catch her name. Normally I don’t leave bad reviews but this have upset me so much that I had to warn others of the poorly service we’ve received while also paying so much.

Came for dinner as a group of 5, space on Friday night with no booking. lovely burger place. Fab portions photos- fat hippo & the honey shot Reasonably priced and super tastey. Staff were smiley and attentive. Would recommend

I was excited to go here as they have GF and veggie but the burger just tasted terrible. When it first came i thought there was a spider on it, it was just a flower from outside but it still put me off, pictured. The burger itself tasted just purely of mustard. The chips weren’t seasoned well and the service was slow, we had to keep saying excuse me to even get cutlery and ketchup

I’ve been a frequent and loyal customer of FatHippo for a long time, and up until now I’ve always been fully satisfied with both the service and the food — whether dining in or ordering delivery. My go-to choices have included the Wild Bill with a side of purple slaw and the Great White Buffalo (which also comes with purple slaw inside). I’ve had these several times before and they’ve always been excellent. However, today’s order was a huge disappointment. The purple slaw, which has always been a favorite, was completely overpowered by parsley — including large, unchopped parsley stems. I’ve never noticed parsley in their slaw before, and if the recipe has been changed, it hasn’t been executed well at all (see picture attached). The taste was so strong and unpleasant that it ruined both the slaw on its own and the burger it was served in. Unfortunately, I couldn’t finish the burger, and the slaw was left untouched. After such a poor experience, I don’t think I’ll be ordering again, which is a real shame given how much I used to enjoy FatHippo.

GB Cafe and Restaurant is a great place to enjoy a British breakfast with all the options you could dream of, from sumptuous mushrooms and black pudding to delicate pancakes. The staff are polite, professional and knowledgeable, which makes choosing what to eat an easy task, while the prices are very sensible. Considering the quality of food on offer as well as the excellent value for money, GB Cafe and Restaurant is a fantastic option for anyone looking for something different in Nottingham.
Absolutely love this place, one of mine, my partner’s and my friend’s favourite places in Nottingham and we are constantly bringing new friends in. The owner and staff are so lovely and bend over backwards for you (understandably less so when it is busy on a Friday and Saturday) and are even dog friendly which we didn’t expect, and always give our dog a treat when we come in! The atmosphere and decor are quite no frills but in the best possible way, very family ran diner style. It reminds me a bit of Midnight Diner or local Japanese eateries. Cutlery trays of chopsticks, forks and knives, napkins and condiments on each table and water dispensers by the counter etc. The food is absolutely outstanding, some of the most authentic Asian food in Nottingham. The owners are Malaysian so their Malaysian food is soooo good and pretty hard to find in the UK! Their sushi is also very good, comparable to other more expensive Japanese restaurants. My friends and I have been working our way through the menu, there’s not much we haven’t tried now! As well as authentic Chinese, Malaysian and other Asian food, they also have an entire separate menu of British Chinese food like sweet and sour tofu, beef in black bean sauce etc. They took over from the previous greasy spoon cafe and kept the name, as well as the English cafe style food like omelette, full English breakfast etc. I’ve never tried this stuff, give me the sushi, rendang curry and steamed fish!!! Some of our favourite dishes are the sushi platters, braised aubergine in chilli and garlic sauce, white fish in pickled Chinese greens soup (way tastier than the description!), mapo tofu, beef rendang, oyster furai, spicy beef ramen and seafood laksa! My friend’s eyes literally rolled into his head when he first tried the seafood laksa! Highly recommend to anyone, in a selfish way, I hope it doesn’t “go viral” and become way too busy! Wish I could review more than once because we’ve been so often and will continue to support a small independent business.

Have been in London for months and never once craved Asian food until we chanced upon this eatery while holidaying in Nottingham. For 3 consecutive days,we ate our lunch and dinners there. The flavours and generous portions made each meal reminiscent of home. Compliments to the chef and kudos to the staff, especially the Vietnamese server who made us feel welcomed. A suggestion-have corresponding pictures of each dish on the menu. As the saying goes, 'We eat with our eyes'. Love from Singapore !

We tucked into the food and nearly forgot to take photos. This place was recommended by friends. We tried Hainanese Chicken rice, Wat Tan Hor Fun and Nasi Lemak. Lots of tender chicken, good flavours. Hor Fun was nice too but could do with more wok hey. Nasi Lemak was a generous portion, nice sambal but rice didn't have coconut flavour. Staff very helpful and friendly. We may come back to try the other items on the menu.

Had the nasi lemak, seafood laksa and char kuey teow. Very nice and quite authentic food. Also had teh tarik drink which was really nice.

Lovely Asian food. I had dumplings, the crispy noodles with beef brisket and nasi goreng. It was all nice but the brisket was a little short on meat. Overall though I would definitely come back again.

I used to go to London for my South East Asian food fix, but since finding out of this cafe from a friend of a friend I just realise I no longer need to head down south but just cycle into town! Beef Rendang is soooo gooood!
Fongyiktze — Google review
Tried the nasi lemak, hainanese chicken rice and rendang beef. Dishes were authentic, esp the rendang beef which was so flavorful and tender. The fried chicken was a bit dried and overcooked yet the sambal sauce elevated the whole dish. Didn't recommend the hainanese chicken as it was not too tender.

Fantastic place! Really authentic. Food was delicious, service was great. A bit loud as no decoration on the walls, and noise bounces, and toilets could be cleaner. Will definitely go back and really recommend. THANKS!

Taco restaurant
Nestled in the vibrant heart of Hockley, Taquero is Nottingham's latest taco haven brought to life by the creators of Iberico World Tapas and Bar Iberico. This charming eatery occupies a beautifully transformed old lace building, featuring an inviting glass facade framed in soft pink and green bi-folding doors.
We had an amazing lunch here today! Some of the best food in Nottingham. The perfect and well balanced spicy margarita paired with the tacos and salsas 🤌🏼 I have to disagree with the person below. The food was extremely balanced and delicious, it is Mexican so expect some level of spice. The taco fillings are quite generous and we left full. They also have a great lunch deal!
Danielle S — Google review
Taquero is honestly one of the best restaurants I’ve ever eaten at. I’m a Mexican living in England, and I’ve tried plenty of “Mexican” restaurants across the UK but Taquero truly stands out. Sure, it’s not exactly the same as back home (and let’s be real, who in their right mind would expect it to be?). Come on, people! If you want something identical to what you get in Mexico, then you need to go to Mexico. 🇲🇽 What the owners have done here is pure magic, they’ve managed to blend authentic Mexican flavours with the English palate, using the ingredients available here (which, let’s be honest, can sometimes lack a bit of punch 😅). And yet the chefs somehow turn those ingredients into pure magic, every taco feels like a little miracle that makes you do a happy dance with every bite. 💃🌮 And to those complaining about the waiting time: Friends, this isn’t McDonald’s. Good food takes time. Everything is made fresh and with care. Huge respect to the chefs who work long hours standing, giving their best every single day 👏. Also, kudos to the managers and staff for handling so many customers with grace. If you’ve never worked in hospitality, you have no idea what it takes to serve over 200 people in one day and still smile, even when some customers can be rude or ungrateful. Like every restaurant, (even Michelin-star ones) this one isn’t “perfect, because it’s run by HUMANS, not robots. But the passion, FLAVOUR, and heart behind Taquero make it truly special. 💛

Really nice gastro take on Mexican. The food is authentic and tasty, the decor chic, on trend and Mexican themed without the usual cliche, and the service is great. We went on Saturday lunchtime and it was full of socialites but still incredibly enjoyable. The food was bursting with flavour, the margaritas well made and service will a smile. Well worth a visit but brace yourself for the bill.

Concise menu but it caters every palate. Food was very tasty. Staff are polite and always keen to accommodate requests. The service was a bit slow but it can be taken on a positive note given how busy they were, even on a weekday
Eagle E — Google review
Going here for me and my boyfriends anniversary dinner was a great experience. Could of been a couple more options for soft drinks however the tacos and salsa (I recommend getting all five to try them all out) really boosted this place up. We got a veggie option, meat option and the black beans side and somehow the veggie option was the hottest of them all! however I think the only thing that let this place down was the lack of dessert options, there WAS a dessert menu however not many choices at all, that doesn’t deserve any less stars as the main course is still highly recommended and I do understand some places like to focus on the ‘main’ food which is nice to see!
Sophie B — Google review
Overall was a brilliant experience. Had a great vibrant atmosphere. The staff were helpful and friendly. The service was fast. The food offered a great variety of flavours. Would definitely recommend giving all the salsa ago with some tortilla chips. Even the hottest habanero & pineapple one had a brilliant flavour and wasn’t just over powering spice. The beef birria was incredible I have made this before at home many a time and this was by far the best one I’ve had. The Mexican street corn was also super tasty. Worth getting. Only negative was the pork tacos were too salty sadly. Not worth knocking the experience down though. Would recommend

Just popped in for a quick snack and had a couple of tacos. Wish I'd had more - the sides that were coming out looked delicious! Great staff, and a really friendly, warm environment. Lots of seating inside and out. My partner commented how much of a difference it makes when you have really good service and I totally agree.
Chris H — Google review
Not a bad option in the city centre. The starters were delicious. The mains / tacos looked good but they can be improved - e.g. the meat taco's meat was well overcooked (probably as we ate there later in the night and by that point the pre-cooked meat had simply been held warm for too long (so it was dry). Where we were sitting it was really cold due to the aircon. Friendly staff.

Nestled in a charming former primary school, Small Food Bakery & Store has been delighting locals with its commitment to fresh, locally sourced groceries since 2014. This artisan bakery is a haven for food lovers, offering an array of organic fruits and vegetables alongside their signature freshly baked sourdough bread and delectable pastries. Their custard doughnuts are particularly noteworthy!
Tucked away in Primary in Nottingham is one of the best bakeries I have visited. The pastry was supurb and the lemon bun was delicious, nicely tart and sweet and super soft. The staff here are lovely and the work they do for the local community is great. They also offer a pay it forward for the local community as well. I cannot recommend enough!
Lewis R — Google review
They have quite a large variety of beautiful and unique pastries. I tried their lemon meringue tart and it was amazing. Definitely need to come back to try more of their stuff. Only thing I’ll say is if you’re planning to take any of their sweets away I’d bring my own tupperware. They don’t really have proper containers, just a cardboard tray with no lid that they wrap in paper so if you get anything with cream it will go everywhere.
Iarina — Google review
It's a great place to take a rest that is quiet and relax. There are options of sourdoughs, sweet and savory. Some vegetables and cheese can find in the shop. Rye sourdough (small) £3.5, the bread contains high moisture and a little hint of sour from the nature of the dough. I take it with avacado, cheese, and jam that are fantastic. Definitely I will try other products next time. Besides, there are a small garden and a gallery in the building. Moreover, a coffee shop is behind, people can choose their desired treats in front, move back to order a coffee.

This place is perfect! I could stay here forever. The bakery serves delicious treats, the coffee is amazing, and the staff are all incredible. The art, books, big windows, and serene atmosphere make it so inviting. I've already toured this place three times in one day and still want to explore more; there's just so much to see!

Since it is gaining lot of admiration for great quality and variety, we thought of popping in to find out. And we were not disappointed and true to it's reviews, the bakery had some excellent products all freshly baked. The lovely treats were flying of the shelves as it was lunchtime but we got their just in time to enjoy their delicious vegetarian pizzas featured in the photos. We also had some great filter coffee too, a delicious Christmas blend. Apart from freshly baked breads, they also had some delightful jams and quirky chutneys on sale. And not to forget the yummy cakes, bars, buns. Mostly people were ordering takeaways but we sat down in their cosy little area which is filled with books for you to read while waiting. We thoroughly enjoyed the food, friendly staff and intend to go back to try more of their products.

Best sourdough bread in Nottingham! Bought one made with organic wholemeal flour milled to 90%. Very decent 1kg loaf with lots of air captured in it - lasted us 3 days so far (kept wrapped) without going stale and solid. Tastes so good too - enough of that authentic sourdough taste without being over-powering. Worth the price of £4.50 compared to a Beeston bakery sourdough at £3.80 but for only 700g loaf that has less air in and went solid after 3 days. See comparison in photos

I just had a cracking meal! The green papaya salad was definitely the highlight—so fresh and tasty. Everything from the food and drinks to the speed of service was spot on, and the staff were super friendly, checking in to make sure we were enjoying our meal. The atmosphere was nice, too, although a bit louder than I prefer. All in all, I can't wait to come back!

One of my favourite restaurants in Nottingham! Always the best service from everyone here, especially Cam who was super attentive and friendly. Food is always 10/10, you have to try the summer rolls with peanut sauce!

Great service and choice if good, service was most attentive and generous in terms of explanation to allergies. I lived the chicken thighs and rice. Although my chicken thigh was smaller than the last time the tastes were tongue tasking. For a milder dish do the pho flat noodles. Still lemonade was amazing. I do not recommend the beef in leaves dish as it’s too ground and you can’t get that authentic beef taste. The team were professional and quick to serve even with a busy restaurant. They all seemed happy end enjoyed their job.

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Nottingham, Homemade is a charming independent cafe that has been delighting locals and visitors alike since its opening in 2005. This airy spot boasts a no-frills approach to dining, featuring chalkboard menus filled with an array of homemade delights, including scrumptious sandwiches and an impressive selection of cakes. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, making it the perfect place to unwind.
We went for tea and cake today at Homemade (The Pavilion on The Forest) for the first time. I have given five stars because everything was excellent about the experience. The staff were attentive, friendly and looked happy in their work. The tea was refreshing and good quality. We ate the carrot cake which in our opinion was exceptional and we eat a lot of cakes! It was moist, not too sweet and plenty of it. It was clean and warm in the premises and had nice views over the Forest. There did seem to be quite a lot of choice on the menu and will certainly return to try other dishes in the future.

Feels like a slightly higher quality cross between a greasy spoon cafe and a coffee shop. Better breakfast than most cafes, but I'm still unsure if it warrants the higher price. Very average in other regards. No free coffee with a full English! For shame!
Archmage M — Google review
Very average, staff couldn’t cope with how busy it was. Toasted banana loaf with butter wasn’t toasted and didn’t have butter on and didn’t taste of bananas either. It was too busy to complain. Sandwiches and salad also just average.
Mick P — Google review
Went for a Saturday brunch and there was a was a good selection of items on the menu. Staff were friendly and the interior was pleasant. It was a shame that the food wasn’t particularly enjoyable. The scrambled eggs on toast had too much butter all-round. Similarly the bacon sandwich was lacking in bacon compared to the size of the bread. Also the entrance door was permanently open which created quite a cold draught.
Liam G — Google review
Homemade is a lovely little cafe situated in the heart of Lace Market. It would be so easy to accidentally walk past this unassuming little place and never discover the absolute gem inside! It provides wonderful meals, from a hearty stew to a simple sandwich you can order at the deli counter. The homemade brownies and cakes aren't to be missed either. If I were to name one downside it would be the lack of seating space, but if you're willing to wait or share a table then you are guaranteed a fantastic dining experience in a cozy, welcoming environment!
Yasmin P — Google review
One of my favorite places to got for lunch in Nottingham - although it tends to get busy (good sign!) you never wait too long for food to arrive, and in my experience the quality has always been outstanding (I mostly go for sandwiches). Great milkshakes too.
Kat S — Google review
I am an amateur baker, and the lemon and raspberry cake from this place was one of the best cakes I've ever eaten; I savoured every mouthful. The brownie was very good, also. Can't really comment on other aspects, as I got a takeaway. I will be going back.
Scoobydisney — Google review
Lovely little cafe however cramped now that the new seating has been put in. Advertises as family friendly but you’d be hard pushed to get more than one pushchair inside. There were no other customers when we arrived so quick table service. Echoing what several other reviews have said - it’s expensive for what you get, especially the size of the coffees!

Red's True Barbecue is a haven for meat enthusiasts, offering slow-cooked meats with specially crafted rubs and seasonings in a casual canteen setting. Whether you're craving delicious chicken wings, ravishing ribs, perfect pulled pork, or tasty brisket, this place has it all. Located on Queen Street, it's the ultimate destination for American barbecue lovers.
It was great, loved the taste of the food and service was great. The beef long rib is my favourite and the deep fried apple pie is so good. I don't like apple pies but the thought of this just made me want to try it and it was so good. The beef long rib was a very big portion and still soft inside. Only thing is he flavour was not fully there so you kind of have to dip it once you're past the bbq sauce on the outside. Service was great, it was busy but they managed to get us a table no wait.
Andy C — Google review
We called in on a Sunday evening, unfortunately they had sold out of some of their dishes. It is a strange combination of a bar area, cooking area, and industrial looking seating areas. We ordered what we wanted from the remaining selection, drinks are limited to an ale, larger and cider. The food came out, it wasn't the hottest, we had selected 3 different dishes and 3 sides, which was just about enough for us. Be aware the sauce on the table, one is extremely hot and spicy. It would be nice to try again when we knew everything was available.
Jack L — Google review
Some staff were pushy because they wanted us out for 9pm as they were having a cleanup. In fact after we paid it got rather smokey in there and we were on the upper level... Food was ok but BBQ is about taste and not how much it's burnt. Sandwich I had was on a bun but was still nice. Good selection of sauces though.
Yozzer H — Google review
Good ish place to have a bbq, they have a good variety of cuts, some of them absolutely delicious and juicy, but some of them can be very dry and chewy like the beef brisket and the chicken wings. Another down thing is that the place is so smoky, all that smoke will get impregnated into your skin, hair and clothes. I never saw the aircon on and in the hot days is terrible warm, so warm as last time we couldn't even finish the meal. Overall is ok to try it from time to time.
C. M — Google review
4.4 is definitely overrated. If you've been to the US or have done some traveling around, you'd know the food there were just mediocre, and comes nothing close to good ones. Had the brisket and feasting plate for 2, most of the meat (wings, ribs, brisket, etc) were dry and cold. I was so excited to have the brisket but it was surely a disappointment and small portion too, 4 thin slices to be exact. The waitress spilled my husband's beer and said she'll being a new one, witness by the manager as he wiped the table for us however nobody shows up with our beer either. Meh ~ not impressed
Jaycee H — Google review
XXXL wings are huge, recommend the Buffalo and Blue sauce! Very nice Pit Burger gives you a good range of meats on the menu. Mac and Cheese is super sticky and tasty. Always remember to add the extra table sauces to your food. Service was good, and quick. I don’t like the hard wooden chairs, but that’s the fashion in a lot of restaurants.
J C — Google review
It's was ok. When we got there we waited a while to order drinks. They came back and took our food order and offered us drinks again.. even though the first ones hadn't come yet. We saw 2 couples come and go as they had to wait to long before being seen to (and it wasn't that busy either) the food was quite tasty, loved the flavours, Food also came quickly. My partner's ribs was lovely, the brisket was quite dry and not moist, sadly didn't pull apart. And the buffalo wings to start was basically dry cooked wings with a drizzle of sauce which was a little disappointing as we love them saucy. And the crackling is just fatty not much crunch. We LOVE American BBQ, this didn't live up to that. Food could use a little work but mostly they need a little front of house management here... The staff seemed stressed and poorly managed meaning there being disrespected by customers (which was sad to see as they seemed lovely) but direction is needed to support the staff. I couldn't tell if there was a manager there as no one stood out as being helpful to the staff.
Emma J — Google review
I've visited once before some time ago and the experience wasn't the best, but I thought I'd give it another go. Whilst the service was great, the food was just 'fine'. I couldn't say there was anything spectacular happening with the flavours and it was just fairly normal and average. The belly pork that was part of my meal was 95% fat, which was a shame as that was one of the better tasting things on the tray (I'm aware belly pork is generally a fatty meat, but there was next to nothing on the piece). I think for the price and quantity, the food isn't spectacular or overly desirable. I probably won't be visiting again in the future. Nothing against the service, but the food and flavours need to see some changes.

Restaurant Sat Bains with Rooms is a top-notch dining destination in Nottingham, offering modern British dishes and indulgent tasting menus. Guests can opt for a ten-course menu or go all out with the 15-course option, both featuring expertly crafted flavors that demand to be savored.
My partner & I recently went for dinner and it was something never experienced before. We went for the 11 course menu which with a few surprises thrown in, turned into effectively a 14 course - each course worthy of the accolades and just got better as it went on. From the moment you are greeted at the main door to the moment you leave, the service and standards do not drop. Every member of the team is friendly, attentive, fun & knowledgeable. Describing each drink & each dish in how it was made and presented - not in a rehearsed robotic way, but in an informative fun way. An experience we will never forget - thank you.

We were looking forward to our stay and dinner for weeks as it was part of our vacation and we were not a bit disappointed. The whole team made us feel very welcome from beginning to end and accommodated to all our wishes. The room itself was cozy and relaxing. Of course we also had the tasting menu and chose to go with the "Overture" courses. We loved the food, which was local, of very high quality and exceptionally well composed as a menu. Special thanks to Josh, who made us feel at ease and contributed to a relaxed atmosphere, which we highly appreciated. Also the surprise in the green house was an excellent idea and seeing Sat himself at the end just made it perfect. Thank you all and if we weren't living as far as Hamburg, we would definitely return again!

We recently attended RSB and it was a experience we will never forget. From front of house to kitchen, our day was flawless. We were treated to an upgrade and sat in the kitchen with Megan "pastry chef" she was warm and welcoming. Our sommelier was Andre, his knowledge and passion for wine shined and ensured he brought each flavour of our wine to match to our food. Anna took us into the herb Garden for a special pizza and champagne course, Anna was so friendly and kind. She put us at ease and told us stories about her dog while feeding us the best pizza we've ever had! Each of our courses were served by the Chefs who cooked them, Felix, Dan and Anna. After we finished we were invited into the main kitchen to eat our final pudding which was delicious. All the food we had on the day was outstanding, nothing like we had tried before. Stand out moments, girolle tart, the scallops, the popcorn pudding, pizza, my seas bass and Emma's grouse...the list is endless and it's etched In our mind forever. It was great to meet John and thank him and the team for our special day. Hopefully we'll have the pleasure of coming again. Credit to all the staff, you were simply the best x

A lunch with a friend to celebrate our big birthdays! It was wonderful. The staff were professional and efficient yet relaxed and the food was sublime. The flavours of every course were layered and deep from the cheese croquette and soup, through the crab, mushroom, lamb, duck and seabass dishes to the cheese, biscuits and ice cream. Wow...a surprise with every dish..all superbly presented in a beautiful atmosphere.

They deserve the accolades. I wouldn't normally spend that much for a meal, but it was worth it, and i'm glad it exists. When people love what they do and they are masters of their craft, it commands respect. I was able to give my Mum not only a memorable meal, but an all round experience.

Brasserie
Browns Nottingham is a British chain brasserie and bar located in a central area near local tourist attractions. The chic teahouse offers a bright and inviting atmosphere, perfect for enjoying afternoon tea with an array of delectable cakes, sandwiches, scones, and fresh fruit. Additionally, the venue hosts special events such as a 1920s-inspired evening of extravagance featuring canapes on arrival and a three-course banquet with options like sirloin steak and roast rack of lamb.
Definitely a 'treat' destination. Other reviews mention the food prices, however there are set menus that are quite reasonable. Anyway, the food is divine and the service above and beyond what you'd expect. If you are lucky enough to get looked after by PC you will get premium service, a fantastic human being. To finish I had the best Irish coffee I've ever had! Enjoy. M

My family and I went here for my brother’s graduation and it did not disappoint. The place was beautifully decorated. The food was great. As a dessert lover, I really enjoyed the tiramisu! They also gave a plate congratulating my brother which was a really kind gesture from Browns.

Had an amazing lunchtime experience at Browns we were served by Sam. The food was tasty, well presented, hot and was served promptly. Sam’s customer service was great and he even overheard that we were celebrating a birthday and presented a birthday plate to us. A really enjoyable dining experience.

Dropped in on the off-chance for lunch. We were really well looked after by Maja. Our food from the lunch menu was beautiful; tasty & well presented, and the surprise decorated fruit plate was a great touch. Great atmosphere - we're already planning our next visit.

We visit brown’s quite often. Special occasions. Family gatherings. We went today for brunch to celebrate our daughter’s A-Levels. Breakfast was great. Full traditional for me and my daughter. Eggs Benedict for my lovely wife. Bellini cocktails. All perfect. But the sign of great service is not meeting but exceeding expectations. And being attentive to the guests needs. Our delightful waiter, PC brought out a plate with congratulations and profiteroles, strawberries and meringues. My daughter’s friend had joined us to say hi but wasn’t eating. The waiter overheard that he’d also just got his results so didn’t leave home out and brought a matching plate for him too. Perfect.

Lovely decor and atmosphere. Very helpful friendly staff, especially our Server Maja who once again (our third visit to Browns) looked after us so well and is so happy, friendly and helpful. I didn’t enjoy the Club Sandwich main course as the toasted sour dough bread was a too thick and dry and the chicken breast filling not very tasty. Otherwise a great evening.

French restaurant
French Living is a charming establishment that offers a unique experience, combining a shop/cafe, bistro, and creperie. The cafe provides an opportunity to enjoy a cup of coffee while browsing through the provisions on offer. The bistro exudes the ambiance of a traditional provincial family brasserie with its rustic decor and seasonal menus that aim to evoke feelings of home for the French and memories of holidays for British visitors.
I am very reluctant to share my outstanding experience of French Living, for fear that it will become even more popular! This authentic French restaurant is our go-to for pre-theatre dinner in Nottingham; the location is perfect for the Theatre Royal and Concert Hall. The service is friendly, the menu has something for everyone, and our choices were delicious. We look forward to our next visit.

Was in the mood for good French food in Nottingham and this looked well rated so decided to pop in to French Living. Very French vibe inside. They leave you to it until you need their assistance… the French way! I went for the set menu du jour (all on the blackboard) for £25 for 2 courses… well priced. Started with terrine with some proper freshly sliced baguette… huge portion and I needed more bread! The star of the show though was the steak frites… a MUST if you go. Easily one of the best I’ve had outside of France. So many small details made it excellent. The perfectly cooked fries, rich peppercorn sauce, fresh ratatouille, other very well seasoned veggies as well. Perfectly cooked steak that was juicy throughout… not a chewy bit in sight. The sort of meal you don’t want to finish as then it ends! Didn’t want a dessert but I was tempted by the creme brûlée… it wasn’t cheap but the thickness and richness of the cream made it very indulgent. Top 5 that I’ve had for sure. All washed down with a carafe of house white. Indulgent but an incredible meal - proper French food in the heart of Nottingham. Allez!

Had the pleasure of eating at French living to celebrate my partner’s birthday. It was a romantic but fun evening with great service from the staff and some of the best food I have had in a while. As a French national I can confirm that the food is to the quality expected back home. Don’t believe me ? I’ve photographed the dishes as all good milenials should 😅 For a memorable one on one in Nottingham this is a must! Bonne ap!

Another excellent meal here the other night (fish main course and dessert) reminds me to post a review. The quality of the meal was superb. Always a pleasure to dine here. Friendly and helpful staff have excellent knowledge of the menu and service is consistently good in my experience. I would gladly recommend this restaurant. A lovely authentic French style too. It's not expensive but the quality means it is very good value indeed. Its great that an independent family run business like this can operate in a busy city centre with so much competition from the national chains. This is a place worth going out of your way for!

Bar Iberico is a stylish and modern restaurant located on Carlton Street in Nottingham. It embraces the Spanish concept of sharing, offering a wide range of classic and vegan Spanish tapas, flatbreads, breakfast options, and cocktails. The rustic-chic tavern provides an opportunity to savor the best of Spanish cuisine with well-judged croquetas, fine jamon, inside out chicken wings with yuzu and sweet chili, and other delectable dishes.
Great value lunch menu! Loved the tapas-style setup — perfect for sharing and trying different dishes. Everything we had was flavorful, and the staff were super friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend.

Had a large group of 8 people. Ordered one of every tapas option and 3 of the 4 flatbread options as well. So a great variety of their menu. I can recommend every option from the crispy kale and fennel vegetable options to the varied protein options as well. Great drought and cocktails and all the staff we interacted with were top notch!

Delightful tapas experience in Nottingham. The menu was inventive without being pretentious. Nice touch to be able to get a non-alcoholic beer from the tap.

So... that was yummy. Me and my daughter went there and we were recieved by very friendly young people. I asked for the tomato and rocket flabread ( it was enough for 2 people) and it was fresh and tasty. We then tried the mussels and squid As the 2 foodie that we are we took our time to eat it was so uniquely tasty ( try it seriously!)At the end a crema catalena and a custard tarte ( both delicious just , as a Portuguese, didn't appreciate the lemony taste in custard tarte). Good expresso.☕️☕️ So satisfied with this experience 💓.

Really, really good service from everyone who looked after us and served us right from the start. The food was also incredible. I was looking forward to trying everything we ordered but it was honestly exceptional - beautifully presented, incredible flavour combinations, nicely proportioned. Churros and salmon with orange were both incredible. The padron peppers were maybe the best we've ever had. I'd say it was really good value for the quality as well. Would love to pop in again in the future.

We didn't have a reservation and we only waited for about 15 minutes for a large table on a busy Sunday evening. The tapas menu was vast from small olive selection to large topped flatbeeads. Delicious! We especially enjoyed the crispy cauliflower and the catalan tomato bread.

♿ I had dinner today at Bar Iberico, a cozy Spanish restaurant in Nottingham. The atmosphere is warm and lively, with modern décor and friendly service. The menu offers a great variety of dishes, including tapas, paella, seafood, and meat options. I tried several tapas dishes — the portions were small but perfect for sharing, and everything tasted delicious. They also serve a good range of drinks, from juices to refreshing mocktails. From an accessibility point of view, the restaurant is fairly wheelchair-friendly, though there’s a small challenge at the entrance. There is a step about 20 cm high, and you’ll need to ask the staff for a portable ramp to get inside. The staff were very kind and immediately helped set it up. Once inside, the space is open and easy to move around, and the tables are accessible for wheelchair users. The restaurant also has a disabled-access toilet and a baby changing station, both clean and easy to reach. ♿ Accessibility Checklist – Bar Iberico Nottingham ⚠️ Step at entrance (around 20 cm) ✅ Portable ramp available upon request ✅ Wheelchair access to dining tables ✅ Accessible toilet available ✅ Baby changing station available ✅ Friendly and helpful staff ✅ Spacious indoor layout 💬 Note: Bar Iberico is a lovely spot for lunch with great Spanish food and excellent service. Although the entrance requires a ramp, the helpful staff make the experience smooth and comfortable for wheelchair users. #WheelchairAccessible #AccessibleNottingham #InclusiveDining #AccessibleByWalkandSee

Would thoroughly recommend this establishment, the staff are on point and are very aware of the various table arrangements. We sat up at the and it was an unexpected delight, you had a view of the staff snd their jobs and felt intimate but in amongst a busy restaurant. The food and wine was just delicious. We are a pescatarian and meat eating couple, the dishes on either side of the culinary fence were great. Really enjoyed the pickles. Comparing the cauliflower and chicken dishes were interestingly similar. Overall a great night, we will be back again. Thanks to the staff.

A great all round restaurant. We like to go somewhere that you are guaranteed great quality food with great service at a very reasonable price. This gem has been hidden since 1982. A family owned bar and bistro housed in a beautifully restored railway station. They serve a mix of retro comfort classics and med inspired dishes with locally sourced ingredients Once seated you are brought water and freshly baked bread to nibble on whilst you peruse the menu. For lunch,it's two courses £26 or three courses £32. We started with a couple of very nice cocktails. Pineapple & coconut mojito £8.95 Cherry, amaretto sour £9.95 For starters we chose Crab, apple & salmon tian and Sun blush tomato & brie arancini. Main choices of Slow braised blade of beef and the other Roast fillet of cod. Both cooked to perfection. Desserts were Perkins tiramisu and Sticky toffee pudding it is then. To finish, a couple of Irish coffees. With consistently excellent food and service, there's no surprise the whole restaurant was full on a midweek lunchtime. They also do themed evenings which are really good value with excellent menus where booking is essential

What a lovely place Perkins Bar & Bistro has become - it's been a very long time since I was here - I came to Perkins a couple of weeks after it opened in 1982 - back then it was a wee bit basic compared to the really smart establishment it is now. Staff were really nice and attentive and service was perfect. Not too much fuss which is nice. Food was very good - loved the duck spring rolls starter, which we both had (hoisin sauce maybe next time?). My wife had sea bass which was superb, and I went for battered haddock, chips and pea puree, which was lovely, the only small criticism I have was the battered haddock came with a load of salt crystals scattered on top, which, because the batter was hot and slightly tacky, it was difficult to remove all the salt so I had to discard a few pieces of the delicious batter. Surely you could leave extra seasoning to the customer? Otherwise, a really, really lovely lunch, and yes we will for sure come back - and not leave it so long next time (long time before was because I moved to London then abroad).

Had a brilliant stay here in The Great Oak hut. With an amazing 3 course meal and house bottle of wine. The food was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. The stay in the hut was very cosy and warm. We had a relaxing bath and chilled for the rest of the evening after our dinner. Got up the following morning to go for our traditional English breakfast which was all top quality meats along with plenty of coffee and orange juice. Perfect place for a relaxing get away weekend. Trish the Manager there was so friendly and helpful and made our stay incredible and couldn’t do enough for us. Thank you Trish for your warming welcome. Highly recommend to everyone. A***

Piccolino is a contemporary Italian restaurant located in Nottingham's historic Lace Market. The menu features classic Italian specialities prepared in an open kitchen, making it the perfect spot for seafood lovers and pasta enthusiasts alike. The outdoor terrace makes it the perfect place to soak up the summer sun while enjoying a drink or bite to eat.
We visited prior to a matinee performance at Theatre Royal. The decor was beautiful, the staff all very attentive. Sebastian was our waiter and was fab, full of smiles and very helpful. The food was extremely good, we had the 2 course for £25 and 2 from the group had a main off of the main menu, all of it delicious and made to a high standard. Followed by a desert. On leaving the heavens opened and one of the staff (we didn’t get his name) found us an umbrella to borrow, so kind and helpful. Overall a really good experience and would absolutely recommend and will definitely return.

I had lunch at Piccolino Nottingham branch this weekend and I’ll be going back next time I’m in Nottingham. The atmosphere is friendly. The decor is warm and rustic. The staff are courteous friendly and professional. We had scallops to begin, which were enormous, the crab ravioli and sea bass for our mains and they were divine, seasoned perfectly and good portion size. We finished our lunch off by sharing a super sweet chocolatey creation, which paired very well with an espresso. Piccolino is a little gem of Italian restaurant in Nottingham city centre, within walking distance of the train station and the old market square, and I highly recommend it.

Booked dinner at a busy time. Order 2 pastas and the Fritto misto fried seafood combo. Nice decor, vibrant atmosphere, and you are paying for that. The food was OK nothing really stood out ie over priced. Pasta overcooked. Clam pasta was watery, pasta not drained properly? Too spicy, you won't see that in Italy. Small portions. Fritto was undercooked and under seasoned eg the red snapper was mushy inside. Friendly service but watching two servers arguing was not good. There is a 10% gratuity added on. This is a honest review from someone that has travelled to Italy many times, over many years, to over 20 different Italian cities. 3.5🌟. The average score of 4 on here is about right.

We had an incredible experience at Piccolino! From start to finish everything was perfect. Peyta gave us such warm and attentive service – she really made the evening feel special. Magda and Paolo were also fantastic and made us feel so welcome. We all chose different pasta dishes and every single one was outstanding – fresh, authentic, and full of flavour. This review is for the very poor communication and complete lack of empathy for my query. The reason I contacted them was for my daughter, as she has severe dairy and egg allergies. I actually found them through the Allergy Companions website. I sent them an email explaining the situation and to be fair, I got a swift response from the manager, Laura. I'm afraid to say, it was the usual "check the menu" response, which I seem to get from most of the bigger chains (except Hickory's, who are fantastic every time we go). Very poor. Anyway, rather than send another email, I decided to speak to Laura the next day, just to give her a chance to explain. When I called Faraday's, Laura was on a day off and I spoke to a girl called "Ellie". I explained the situation and the response I'd had from Laura and to be perfectly honest, she didn't have a clue about allergies/food contamination, etc. I then asked to speak to someone in charge and she said it was her! So you have someone in charge, that has no idea about something that could potentially kill someone. It absolutely blew my mind. So, next step was to find out who actually owned/ran this pub. It was the Stonegate group. I found the head office number and called it. I instantly got a recorded message saying that I couldn't speak to anyone. Please bear in mind this was a weekday, during the day. I duly left a message explaining everything and also all my contact details. That was 2 weeks and I have yet to receive any kind of response. I could've emailed, but anyone can hide behind those, I actually wanted to speak to someone, which I should be able to, with something as serious as this, or at least someone getting back to me. I'm not holding my breath though.

Roosters Piri Piri is a popular chain eatery known for its delicious piri piri chicken, burgers, and vegetarian options. Located at 4-5 Angel Road in Nottingham, this restaurant has garnered rave reviews for its juicy grilled chicken that's marinated for 24 hours and cooked to perfection. In addition to their flavorful chicken dishes, Roosters Piri Piri also offers gourmet beef options and vegetarian choices.
We went out with friends over the weekend, and the town's restaurants were packed. Luckily, we found just enough seating for our group of 19 at Roosters Piri Piri. The service was impressively quick, and our order of chicken with fries seasoned with piri piri salt and milkshakes did not disappoint. The chicken was delicious—spicy as requested, tangy as expected, and flavorful to the last bite, making for an amazing evening. The restaurant had a clean, well-maintained ambiance with comfortable seating arrangements, adding to the overall great experience and for a great price too.

Forgot about my order, I had to go up and ask for them to quickly knock this up, chicken was cold and raw. They did give me a free drink for forgetting about the order, I should have checked the wrap before I left. Needless to say, I won’t be returning, avoid.
Brandan W — Google review
I hadn't been here in years, but thankfully it's still the same. The flavours are great, but strong. I order the lemon and herb peri-peri and that would still be too spicy for some. The food was hot and out very fast. Will definitely return.
TacoBebs — Google review
The food it quite nice but not the best, the quality and the portions of the food do not match the price at all! (Overly priced). The wait time is very disappointing, I was waiting over 30mins for a simple burger. I highly don’t recommend coming here if you’re in a rush, that really annoyed me and got me in a lot of trouble as I had places to be. However, there is a nice small prayer room downstairs which is very helpful. Will possibly come back.

Food isn’t that good tbh cheaper than pepe’s but the chicken and rice box was so saucy yet somehow so flavourless. The chicken breast was dry too. The garlic sauce not great and the chilli sauce was abysmal. Very disappointed after seeing it so hiped up in TikTok but I keep it real. They have decent portion sizes I guess

This is my first time going to roosters piri piri, and wow just wow. I could not believe the interior of the restaurant it was amazing! Not too hot or cold, just right !! I ordered a grill chicken burger meal, this took around 5 minutes to make and was very fresh! My total came out to £10 and I was happy with the portion size of fries Very good burger and chips 👌🏽 Service was great too, despite the fact they were extremely busy!
Ahmed D — Google review
Took home a 6oz beef burger and it was the most under seasoned burger ever. Literally tasted of nothing even though I ordered a patty with medium spice. Chips were decent but I was hoping the burger here would be nice but it was an absolute disappointment. Definitely would not recommend the beef burgers.
Junaid K — Google review
Ordered from people at the counter -savoury rice which was spicy :( I also had chicken, depends what sauce you have as to your liking of how good it is. Was not happy how I was only given a spoon, no knife and fork, cutlery was plastic -I prefer stainless steel, think it was served on a slate kind of rectangular plate & some paper wrapping on the food which was not necessary & irritating. My friend was more happy with what he ordered. Please don’t add fast food wrapping when not taking away. I thought the Indian lady who took my order at the counter & probably person who served us sounded patronising while my friend though she sounded very nice -who knows?! Experience made me feel a bit sad compared to last time. Also depends where you sit & how the people around are, for the atmosphere. Seats were the opposite of inspiring for me that day, being white plastic kind of material.

BEST pasta outside of Rome and the quality of the food is wonderful. Absolutely amazing food and service is just as amazing! The photos don’t do it justice. Everything was freshly made and the pizza is one of the best we’ve ever had. Recommend this place so highly for anyone wanting a real taste of Italy and great quality food with some of the best service we’ve ever had as well…thank you Michelangelo! Already looking forward to coming back soon.

Don’t review that often, but this place was unexpectedly great. The pizza and the focaccia is probably be the best I’ve had in Nottingham and I’ve eaten at lots various pizzerias around the city. Some of the best dough and crispy to baked crust ratio ever. Will definitely keep coming back now. Thank you guys!
Ricky — Google review
Wow, a truly authentic Italian experience in the centre of Nottingham! The garlic mushrooms starter was absolutely amazing….delicious is an understatement! The bread and focaccia were both freshly prepared and melt-in-the-mouth soft and flavourful…a must-have option to start off your meal. Thank you Solo Grano for a wonderful meal 👌

I had wanted to try this place for a while and it’s unfortunate that the food is quite forgettable. It’s not bad but there are much better Italian places in Nottingham so I wouldn’t rush back here. The staff are quite nice though!

Easily the best pizza in Nottingham city of not the entire region. Actually proper pizza and no chicken shop slop. Highly recommend for fast authentic pizza.
J B — Google review
Yummy pizza and focaccia! My only critique is that the pizzas were a bit floppy - but tasted great. The tables outside were a bit too small for 3 people. There isn’t a huge seating area inside either.

Real authentic Italian pizza, good pricing, living proof that meat doesn’t need to be on pizza. Definitely recommend anyone to go 😋

Nestled within the famous Trent Bridge Cricket Ground, Larwood & Voce is a popular and vibrant bar known for its vintage atmosphere and televised sports. The pub offers a mix of traditional dishes with a modern twist, making it a favorite among locals and sports fans alike. With an upcoming Sunday menu featuring classic roast options infused with Gastro Pub flair, the venue is set to delight visitors with hearty meals.
A group of us came here for our colleagues farewell lunch. We arrived at 12pm even though our table was booked for 12:30 but the table was already ready. Our server Leon was super lovely from the moment we arrived and did all he could to accommodate those of us in the group who didn’t have much time as they had to be back for meetings. That being said we never felt rushed or overwhelmed with the service and Leon did all he could to make sure we were stocked on drinks, orders were taken (even those people we joining sporadically), and that people were aware of how their food may come etc. Leon was friendly and helpful but not overbearing. I had the soup and a large coke which was £10 total, the price was excellent as it’s not often you can get high quality for a decent price. This was my first time and experience at Larwood & Voce but I certainly will be coming back .

Went for Sunday Lunch. Opted for the Beef rump roast. Meat was pink as requested. I can honestly say that the food was beautiful and the best Sunday lunch gravy I've had in a long time.I normally come away from a pub roast thinking my home cooked taste better but not today!. Would definitely recommend and will be returning.

Pub with dining, adjacent to Trent Bridge cricket ground. A wide selection of real ale, beer, lager, gin, wines and spirits available. Can get busy on matchdays.
Andy H — Google review
Called in on a Saturday evening a couple of weeks ago, very surprised to see the pub so quiet but it was probably due to the cricket international finishing early so those that were at the cricket had already left and those that wanted to avoid somewhere busy had given it a swerve. The result was that we were the only diners so had the run of the place. Served by Leon who was great, very attentive and friendly but didn’t fuss over us too much. It was nice to have someone who had some personality as it must have been difficult with a pretty much empty pub! Food was good but disappointing that there were a few choices missing from the menu.

We had Sunday lunch and it was so lovely! Grace was our server and she was so polite and friendly she was amazing with our 2 year old too. Would 100% recommend. We will be trying for a date night too. Thanks team x

Pre-ordered breakfast for a party of 6 for 10.30. Had an extra person join at 10.35 so ordered another breakfast and paid for it up front. Chased the breakfast at 11 to be told that breakfast had finished and they could only offer a refund. No apology or real explanation given. I then went and got a sausage cob from around the corner to then be stopped on the way back in and be told that no outside food allowed in. Explained and got bar staff out who repeated the policy despite the context. Asked for manager only to be told by the bar kid it was his dad and I’d get the same response. Customer service course required for Christmas. Terrible experience, I’m a regular customer on Forest match days but not anymore. Worth adding that everything on the breakfasts that were served looked undercooked.
Joe S — Google review
Chaos when busy. Came for lunch at the weekend. Had fish & chips - fish was really lovely but the chips were barely cooked and inedible. I complained to the waiting staff and she shrugged and was unbothered. Waited twenty minutes for the bill and ended up going to the bar to pay. Convenient for Trent Bridge is all it has going for it.

Very good food. We drove 50 minutes to this place specifically to try the food that a friend recommended to us many times. It was really worth it! Good fresh food, clean place, really friendly people in staff and you can sit with your children or friends inside and eat delicious food. :) We came back in 2 days and it was also delicious! 🧡

I had a fantastic time at German Donar Kebab! The cuisine was really amazing; the kebabs were juicy, well-seasoned, and grilled perfectly. The many sauces and fresh toppings provided an extra explosion of flavor. The staff was really courteous and helpful, making our meal pleasurable from beginning to end. I highly recommend this eatery for a full and flavorful meal.

The staff very friendly but the food a big let down . All food was cold 🥶 my girlfriend could not eat her wrap it was that cold and for the cheese chips it was like eating a ice pole mine just cold , if it wasn't raining hard I would have took it back it was that bad .

The cuisine is extremely delicious—by far the finest I've had in Nottingham. The tastes are robust, the ingredients are fresh, and each dish is expertly cooked. The staff is really friendly and attentive, making the eating experience even more delightful.

Very disappointing visit. It was my first time trying this place, and I ordered the box meal that was £13.50. In the quesadilla there was no meat at all, just a few strips it was mostly just bread. The spring roll that came in the box was very good, but I won’t be coming again because the amount of meat is not worth the price.

This long-standing establishment not only serves up delicious fish and chips but also offers an array of sausages, pies, and seafood snacks. Diners can enjoy their meals in a cozy dining area or opt for the convenience of online takeaway orders, ensuring that your food is ready when you arrive.
Have called in regularly when going to football. Always great food and the service from the waitress was exceptional, although I know she has now moved to the West Bridgford restaurant. Has been consistently good over many years.

We ordered a small cod, small chips and for me large cod and large chips, the girl serving tries to convince me that she got me a large chips!!!! She really has an attitude problem! Food is good but the service is below average!
Jim K — Google review
The best fish and chips in Long Eaton by far. Not even cod scallops that won many awards is coming close to this delightful takeaway. There is dining in area also, you can order takeaway online and just pick it up ready on time or you can wait, when you just pop in, usually walking out wit food within couple of minutes. Portions are generous, and the fish is always fresh and crispy. My one to go without hesitation.

Popped in on our way home on a Sunday afternoon. Ordered 2 large cob meals (comes with chips and mushy peas) and a picked egg. Honestly, it was just delicious! Best we've had in ages. Staff were lovely and kept us posted on timings. 🙌🏼 Would definitely pick up again from there.

Best fish and chips ever in Midlands. Very old fashion but the quality never let you down. Have a large cod with curry sauce and mushy peas, a plate of bread and butter, a nice cup of tea. Perfect. The batter is so light and crispy, not oily at all, the fish is very fresh and good quality. We always go there when we want fish and chips.
Shanshan H — Google review
Just been and got fish chips and peas x2 started but ended up throwing away batter overcooked looked like been fried twice chips warm the only thing hot was the peas.discusting wont be going back again
Diane K — Google review
Not visited the restaurant for a long time but decided to visit today as we always had great service and food. However today was disappointing. We ordered the large cod and chips and peas but on arrival it was a small meal. We found that the chips were like rubber and obviously not fresh and the fish was small and the batter was not to our liking. We were always of the opinion that the restaurant food was cooked fresh but that was not the case today. The place itself appears to be run down and in need of a freshen up. Sorry but we will not be revisiting.

First of all, Mario is such a lovely guy, he was such a laugh & great to talk to whilst I waited. He was also really patient with me whilst I tried to make my mind up which I appreciate a lot as a bit of a scatterbrain. The food here is all absolutely delicious, and you can see the quality & freshness of it all as soon as you walk in. I wasn't sure what size fish to get & Mario held the different cuts up to help me decide & then put them in the fryer once I'd decided & I could see that they were fresh & good quality fish. The chip portions are very generous & the Mushy peas & curry sauce are beautiful & super tasty. The chippy itself is so clean, you can see the kitchen area from the waiting area & it's spotless. The chippy accepts cash & card so there's an option for everyone depending on your preference. This is absolutely one of the tastiest chippies I've been to, & definitely the friendliest. I decided to try Oakdale Chippy because they're always winning the top spot in the Nottingham Post's Best Fish & Chips vote & it's very clear to see why! I'll be coming again & would recommend them to anyone.
