A very busy location in St Charles on North Ave,I went for their tasting of a few items off their catering menu.
Started with the Chopped Salad which was delicious followed by their famous Italian Beef sandwich with hot peppers and of course a piece of their Chocolate Cake. All were very good. They also had pasta and meatballs but I took a pass because I had to buy a Chicago Dog ,(NO KETCHUP) and Fries.
Portillos always serves great Chicago street food. A Chicago Icon.
A good experience while in the area. I had the garden hot dog my wife had the regular Chicago style. Both were very good. The staff was super friendly and helpful.
This location is so much nicer than the three we have been to in Minnesota. So organized and clean! Wonderful service too. Also the lemon cake was delicious. I'm pretty sure it's seasonal but worth. ;)
What we ordered wasn't bad for fast food. We shared it and ordered the perfect amount. Got to try a few different things at the same time. Meal was quick, place was open and airy, and we even bought chocolate cake to go!!
First time here and it was fantastic. I ordered the beef and sausage sandwich, fries and the croissant beef and cheddar sandwich. Both sandwiches were fantastic! I would definitely come here again. I had cheese sauce on the side which I poured on the sandwiches as I ate them - VERY delicious! Next time I’m in Chicago, I will visit here again!

If you've never tried the tuna filet sandwich, i most definitely recommend it above the chocolate cake! That's how good it is. Or get both!
Everything on the menu was very reasonably priced. The chili dog was one of the best I've ever had. Food comes out quickly and it's a fun environment.

The line was out to the street and took about 10 min of a wait but well worth it…

For a drive through meal this is one of the healthiest options. Love love love their grilled chicken. We also ordered a huge pickup order for an event and it was priced well, made hot and delicious. I don’t like everything spicy though. Could do without spicy hummus. Their spicy feta dip is great. Also wish there was a catering option with delivery for a huge order or that payment could have been set up in advance bc that complicated our pickup and delivery. But I will say great service at the window. Not so great over the phone (they are very busy, though). I’ve never stepped foot inside. The drive through curve is not comfortable. It’s a quick pickup for good chicken kabobs, that’s the summary.

First time here, a friend brought me to try the food....Holy Moly the food is amazing!!!
Which could definitely be the reason why we ended up going to lunch at 11:30. By noon, the line to get in here is out the door, and there will be no seating.
Plus The line of cars waiting to get to the drive through goes down the street.
I hear they do a booming catering business and I can definitely see why. Just walking into this little fast food joint made my mouth start to water. And their prices are still very reasonable, when you consider the outrageous prices at other fast food joints, once you eat here you won't go back to the others.
It's totally worth the trip....but I suggest not coming in on a Friday lunch break unless you don't mind the lines....plus there will be no parking, so head to a local parking lot and walk over.

HUGE Gyros and plates for a very cheap price! Every time I go here I’m stuffed and they make the food fast right in front of you. Best authentic food you’re gonna find in the area.
Idk what to do. I got served undercooked, looks raw chicken. This is embarrassing for them and I’m angry because I had 3 skewers on here, and literally just ate contaminated raw chicken. If I get sick, lawsuit! Never eating here ever again.
The food here is killer! so, so good every single time! You really can’t beat the flavor or the price. The portions are generous, and everything always tastes fresh and perfectly seasoned. The employees are always super friendly and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. The drive-thru is usually busy, but that just shows how much people love this place. Totally worth the wait. Highly recommend Kabobs Restaurant!

Overall it’s one of the best beefs around when you get sick of having Portillos flavorless beef. And don’t get me started with the fries…I call em crack fries because you can’t stop eating them. Overall if you haven’t tried it before treat yourself to a Chicago beef!

Arriving at 12:15 on a weekday the line was out the front door. It moved decently fast. Two of us ordered mini beef sandwiches with fries and a drink. It took about ten minutes for our number to get called. Food arrived and it was good enough. Small sandwiches, but the small fries were bigger than expected. Beef is a bit bland but good. Parking here is tough; it’s a tiny strip mall of lunch places.
I ordered the full cheezy beef on garlic bread, and added hot peppers and grilled onions. It was a decent bite, but I found the beef itself was a little bland. I loved the cheesiness and the onions on it as well.
Since it was our first time, the worker there gave us fries to sample - which was very kind of him! The fries were seriously delicious!
If I am ever in town again, I would give this place another try.
Beef shack - we are now officially "beef'n".... this sandwich was so lightly packed I feel disgraced. And the fries tasted like shite - dry and no flavor. Come on, do better! One star granted for not turning me away even though technically it was 8:59. But seriously... :(( 👎👎
Beef Shack is a great spot for a quick and tasty meal. The sandwiches are delicious and full of flavor, and the portions are just right. Service is fast and friendly, and it’s convenient that they offer dine-in, drive-through, and delivery. A solid choice if you’re craving something hearty and satisfying.
This has become one of my favorite places. I'd come here just for the fries! They are great fresh cut. The beef and burgers are very good as well. I usually order the min-beef just so I can eat more fries.
Beef Shack is awesome! Great quality and fair price. It just blows away Portillo’s whose quality has gone to the dogs.

I want to start off and say I Love beef shack. I’ve come to the Bartlett location since it opened. I have recommended several times, everyone I’ve referred has agreed- it’s awesome! Always good always hot food! Today was a different story- first the aluminum cups they serve fountain drinks in rock- tonight I ordered and I got a cheap foam cup, not sure if they ran out . Next, always get shakes they come in clear plastic cup- tonight a foam cup and the shake was like they dumped scoped ice cream into a cup. I ordered in the drive thru- get home order is completely wrong, I come back, it’s a completely new staff never seen anyone in there before. the lady that took my order was rude, didn’t apologize. Then gave me attitude after I showed my receipt. Sorry beef shack, I hope this place didn’t sell, with this service and this quality it won’t last. I am saddened, as I have doubts I will be back.

Salsa Verde is hands-down one of my favorite spots to grab a quick, delicious bite! The food is consistently amazing — fresh, flavorful, and served up hot. I was especially impressed with how quickly everything came out; I barely had time to sit down before my order was ready.
The place is super clean, which is always a big plus for me. Everything looked well-kept and organized, which just added to the great experience.
Big shoutout to Sammy, who went above and beyond with awesome customer service. Friendly, helpful, and made sure everything was just right. You can tell they care about the customers here.
Definitely recommend if you’re craving great food with great vibes!

A great, fast Mexican Restaurant. This is a step above Los. The tacos and burritos were very good. Service was also great. We will definitely return.
Overall a mid experience, but had higher expectations for the food. Steak quesadilla was excellent and the Chorizo Queso was delicious, but it went downhill from there. Enchiladas were middle of the road and the burrito was really wet, almost soupy. Need to do a better job of spreading out the burrito ingredients. All rice at one end, and all sour cream at the other. Rice and beans were not flavorful at all.
Had three different tacos. The vegan chorizo taco was a little dry (no added sauce or juices in it). The shrimp taco was good and the fish taco was average. The veggie torta was pricy and had doughy bread.
Cannot recommend this place highly enough. They knock it out of the park every time, taco Tuesdays is an awesome value, and genuinely the salsa verde is to die for. We order 8oz to go just to eat it at home for a few more days
Delicious food! Great service the owner is very nice and makes sure each customer has a wonderful experience. Will definitely be coming back! I got the steak tacos the meat was so good and it was loaded! The chips and queso are also fanastic!
Love this and the location. This is on rt 38 and away from the congestion of Downtown Randle. It was semi busy. The staff was extremely kind and helpful. The price was reasonable and the food was amazing. This is my favorite salsa for the area!! Guacamole was excellent too. This is definitely a must try!!! Also excited that they offer catering. We had the flan and a quesadilla! Beautiful platting and great care is taken with food preparation!!
My neighbor and I went for Taco Tuesday. Carlos was very patient as I changed my order more than once! Food arrived very quickly and order was perfect! Enjoyed the atmosphere and looking forward to my next visit.

Culver's is a fast-food chain that specializes in frozen custard and has signature burgers made with Midwest beef and dairy. What sets them apart is their commitment to employing local students, which is commendable. However, it must be noted that the service can be slow at times, even though the wait is often worth it. Occasionally, the long wait time of 30 minutes for a drive-through burger may be excessive.
Actually had a nice time dining with my family, food was reasonable portions and hot and delicious. I got a single culvers cheese burger and my brother had cheese curds! I was so jealous. Staff was nice and told us to have a good day when we left, seems like a very positive environment for both staff and customers.

Ordered a burger and was $8.56 so I gave the girl cashier a ten and then .56 cents. She couldn't figure it out? She didn't know how to count change like she's never seen a quarter before. Then she tried to give like .60 cents back? I don't blame her I blame our education system. She had to bring the manager over to work it out. You would think this would be training on day one of your working the cash register. Ridiculous!!
Food was very good, fried cod the equal of more expensive places. Buns don’t do justice to the fish or chicken sandwiches. Table seating a little tight. Many thanks to manager Cole for his generous complementary cod meal when my elderly mother probably did not make herself clear when ordering. Well done!

Disappointing Experience at Culver’s
I've been a loyal Culver's customer for years and usually look forward to indulging in my favorite treat, the caramel cashew sundae. This time, however, the experience left me disappointed. My wife ordered a turtle sundae, while I ordered my go-to caramel cashew sundae. When I received mine, it was topped with hot fudge instead of caramel. I politely informed the attendant about the mistake, only to be told that my sundae was prepared correctly.
I didn’t want to argue or risk any issues with my food, so I reluctantly ate it as it was. It totally threw off my cheat day, and I left feeling frustrated instead of satisfied. I understand that mistakes happen, but the dismissive response made it worse. I hope Culver’s will take customer feedback more seriously in the future because I’d hate for this kind of experience to become a pattern.
Premium quality fast food, excellent service, comfortable interior. Ordered north cod fish sandwich. It was super fresh, hot and tasted mouthwatering. Order was in timely manner, 5-7 minutes.
I love Culver's and their food. At this location I spent almost 20 minutes in the drive thru line(only 3 cars ahead of me). The place wasn't busy just after 11am. My pork tenderloin sandwich was not as I ordered and this was on it. I tossed it in the garbage.
For fast food, it's tasty, and one of the few places offering GF options. The menu seems to have gotten pricy though

The owners are lovely humans, and they make authentic and delicious dishes. There is outdoor and indoor seating. You will need to order before you sit down, and they bring it to you. Pick up after yourself, please! I noticed a bathroom indoor, but I am unsure if there is a changing table, or if it easily accessible for wheelchairs.
The space is decorated with just the right amount of charm and you can truly tell the people working really enjoy what they do. Five stars!!! Highly recommend

Authentic Mexcian! Ordered Guisados Verde with Lengua. Incredible freshness of verde, tenderness of meat, and large portion (6-8 tacos worth) for $18.
The Jalapeño Grille is one of the most authentic Mexican Restaurants with gorgeous artwork! Unfamiliar with the selections and options. Raul kindly offered to make me a custom breakfast sandwich.
Stopped by here on Mother’s Day for brunch. Hidden gem. Try the Volcan for breakfast (but substitute chorizo instead of ham).
This place is an absolute gem! It reminds me of all the family owned Mexican joints in the Chicago neighborhoods. The tacos were the best I've had in recent memory. The Flan is awesome! Super friendly table service!

Hi team, thanks for always being pleasant and making my day. I was in today and you all were busy even with just 2 other people in the restaurant when I entered. I only had one sandwich but I’m quite picky and one gal, I’m not sure of her name, she’s Caucasian; really made sure the sandwich was perfect as she did the toppings after another employee sliced it. She is also super personable and a great multi tasker. We discussed the dinging sound for to go orders, as I said before, they were so busy!!
She, along with the entire rest of the staff, are a great group and a reason to go back. See ya soon :)

Me and husband get jersey mikes at least one a week for dinner,staff there are very fast and friendly.
I visited Jersey Mike's during my lunch break today. While the employees taking my order were polite, I waited an unexpected 20 minutes for my sandwich. The person making the sandwiches seemed to lack urgency, moving very slowly and trying to make multiple orders at once rather than focusing on getting customers served quickly.
I’ve always loved Jersey Mike’s sandwiches, but this experience was disappointing. My lunch break is only 30 minutes, and I spent most of it waiting. I hope this location can improve its efficiency because I truly enjoy the food, but I can't afford such delays during work.
Sloppy, I mean I get when it’s busy you feel rushed, but your making peoples food in front of them. Don’t wipe all the extra stuff from your glove on the top of my sandwich. All the employees looked miserable. Maybe my brother jinxed it because he said this one was bad. Gave you guys the benefit of the doubt. I was wrong.
Jersey Mike's Subs are my favorite chain store sub of all of the major restaurants. This store was as good as every other Jersey Mike's I've been to. I was greeted with smiles, my order was ready and done perfectly and all was good.
I have been to many Jersey Mike’s this one was disappointing I will not go back. The place had a smell to it and the works space was not clean. I will go back to my normal Jersey Mike’s West Schaumburg Rd they alway greet you when you walk in and service you will a smile
As someone with a gluten allergy I found out Jersey Mikes has gluten free sub rolls. I was really nervous to try but have heard great things. The staff at my local store were beyond friendly-I assume the man who took our orders was the manager-he wiped down all the equipment and explained how seriously they take gluten allergies. The staff was knowledgeable about cross contamination and used separate tools and changed their gloves. It really put me at ease and my sandwich was delicious-the first time I’ve ever eaten with my husband at a sub sandwich place! Extra bonus points because everyone was so kind!

My first italian beef sandwich, I took it fully dipped. The bread was holding up, it was wet and tender. The flavors were great, not hot, the spices brought a nice heat, loved it. Surcharge of 0.75$ for a few sweet peppers though ..

Ordered some food through the Buona app. Picked up the order in their Drive thru and everything was made accurately and fresh. The grilled chicken sandwich was delicious as were the fries. Crispy hot and not too salty, these fries were bangin. The beef sandwich though.....absolutely amazing. Had mine with red sauce and mozzarella. And let me tell you, this wasnt a skimpy Portillos style beef sandwich, this bad boy was over flowing with beef! So flavorful and tender. And they didn't skimp on the mozz either. Abso-freakin delicious.
We used this location for a catering order for our wedding reception and they were fantastic! They showed up on time, were organized, had great customer service, and the food was SO good. I think all of our guests truly enjoyed the menu — especially the lemon chicken! Thank you Buona Catering for making our day so special! Highly recommend using them for your next event.
Our team heads out every Thursday night after league. The staff is always friendly, the food is always good, whether we sit inside or outside. We have some great conversations along with some great meals. Now if only they had had grilled forks available at that time of night it would be perfect.

I love Buona! They have great quality fresh food every time that I eat there. I actually think its better than Portillos. I would highly recommend anything from their burgers to their salads and their pastas are very delicious.

Our first visit to Buona exceeded our expectations. The ordering process online was slightly difficult, however, the speed and service made up for it. The food taste & quality were great! All five of us enjoyed what we ate. At pick up, they were really nice & let me pick up via drive thru.

JULY 21ST,.. Should've read the reviews first ...ZERO STARS....first disappointment was that the "large drink" and "large fries" were in reality a medium size portion. Employee stated that these portions are the same as McDonald's large portions. Which of course they aren't. Second was that the hot dogs were not that great, in comparison, Dairy Queen has better hot dogs. And third was that your Employees are rude as hell. Will never go back here again. First and last and actually it was a disappointment from the beginning to the end...
Dear Mr. Owner, if you are reading this, I just want to let you know that the person that you have working right now (at night) does not have your business best interest in mind. I have been to Frankie’s twice now, the first time he was super rude so I left. This time around I came through the drive thru and the same guy is there but after waiting 5 mins in drive thru intercom, he said that they closed a few minutes at 8:45 pm and google saids your actual closing time is at 9 pm. You should consider hiring a different person that understands the concept of ownership and treat your business like his. Hopefully you find this feedback valuable before you keep loosing more customer.

I’ve ate here two times and both times I was greeted kindly and sat down. Within less than 3 minutes my order was ready. The service is exceptional. The food is inexpensive. The owners are extremely polite and care about their customers. Let’s talk about the food. I ordered a Giant Steak burrito dinner with no sour cream both times. It comes with three different sauces you can use when you dine in. The dark red is your very hot sauce, the dark green is a mild hot sauce, and the light green is likely an avocado and sweet sauce. The food is impeccable. For the price you are paying, you get chips and salsa for free while you eat in. The salsa is a soupy texture and has onions and cilantro and is absolutely delicious. This is the best authentic Mexican restaurant in St. Charles, and I’ll be going her more often. Thanks for being such a good vibe ☀️

Meh. Better places for Mexican. Salsa tasted like hot sauce. Enchiladas ok, but dry. Coke products are $4.50! Had enchiladas, and a horchata (not the best) and it was $22 and change for lunch. Not impressed and restaurant inside decor was a little sketch. Needed updating. Better choices out there.
Dinner for two with tip was almost 60$ for quesadillas, enchiladas & two soft drinks. The guacamole and salsa are not good.

Used to get nachos locos from here before covid. Came back a year ago and the nachos were bad, just tried them again tonight and it's just not good. Steak for the nachos wasnt even warm. My first visit. The food was good for Americanized Mexican food. Burritos are quite large and well stuffed including lettuce. Dinner includes Rice and Refried Beans. Seasoning was mild. Taste was pleasant but not what I expected. To this Gringo I was expecting much more flavor.
Cost is somewhat high compared to other places. Soft drinks are $3.75 & $4.25.

Was really sad to find out the price almost doubled from what I had originally seen on their website. My husband went to pick up the food and when he came home and told me it was $60 for 3 taco dinners and 2 tacos I was stunned! Fix your prices on your website!
In my friend group we all just refer to this place as "Los," because, like Madonna or Price, it's an iconic institution.
They've got horchata, lengua, meudo and all that great stuff that let's you know a place knows what they're doing. When you dine in, the keep bringing chips free with THREE (3) types of home-made salsa. We encourage mixing them all.
The service is also spot on, every time, over dozens of visits. Oh yeah, and the food is fast as hell whether it's dine it, carryout or pickup.
And they serve beer.
We had excellent service and the food was great. This is a truly authentic mexican resturant. If you visit you will see signs in Spanish and a fundraiser for a man needing a kidney transplant. The atmosphere is light, the servers are wonderful and caring!

This was our first time coming to this restaurant and it was amazing. Not to exaggerate this was probably the best Mexican spot I've had if not one of the best. I had a skirt steak taco dinner with a Jamaica (hibiscus tea flower) drink and it was just how I like it. My wife had birria soup and I tried it. It had great flavor and taste. We both loved it and took some home for the family. Overall it was a great experience, great service, and great food. Definitely will be there again soon.
I haven't been here in 20 years. I decided to order my usual big burrito that the meat is barbacoa. I decided for two of them. I placed my order to go. A few minutes they came out, but the burrito changed a little during the passage of time, but it's very good, has some lettuce and tomato in it too. They added on the side green sauce, limes and sliced jalapenos.

Tried three items from their menu:
1.) Steak Gordita which seemed under-seasoned and bland plus the tortilla may have been stale or something because it was extra tough.
2.) Steak Torta which again had bland taste but was a little better than the gordita.
3.) Pork Tacos which had slightly more flavor than the steak but not by much.
Portion sizes were good but, I would recommend other establishments nearby.

Hit up my girl Shakira to make your burgers! She cooks it exactly how you want it and it is absolute perfection. The food here is beyond amazing and a great selection. Such friendly & kind staff!! I came with my kids to get their free shakes from the Cougars Reading club. They had delicious shakes and the manager came out and asked the kids if they’d like the tv set to a cartoon for them. It was a great experience!
My kids had a soccer game at odd time. We went around 3pm on a Sunday. Service was very slow and we were the only people there. The kids fruit cup was some type of a grocery store thing. The food was not very good and took a very long time. My kids wanted milk shakes, that's why we went there and they were "out of ice cream" to make any milk shakes. Last visit for us.

ZAB THE MANAGER is honestly one of the best store managers i've ever encountered. There was an error on MY END and Zab took care of it like a boss. Not only did he personally remake it but did it with such generosity. Ive worked in the restaurant business and had to deal with multiple managers before. Never have I ever seen one so receptive to help out even though it was a mistake with the online ordering process. Technology errors happen often these days, so for him to compensate for it was outstanding to me. When I walked in and met him face to face, I noticed his amazing work ethic right away. He was very quick to address me and not to mention he was THE ONLY ONE WORKING THE LINE. Even talking with him on the phone and in person his tone stayed very calm and super professional. I dont know how he managed to stay that calm especially during lunch rush. But he definitely surprised me with how he presented himself even while short handed. THAT SPEAKS VOLUMES. Especially dealing with customers that are inconsiderate of the chaos that goes inside these highly liked restaurants. I personally think this guy needs a raise because he was absolutely phenomenal and whoever his boss is PLEASE RECOGNIZE HIS HARD WORK. Again his name is Zabdiel Espinoza Pacheco. He made my bowl so good and packed and I am so grateful for him!! This just shows people who love their job will do anything to keep the customers happy!!

Not a lot of people eat inside the restaurant, but the service is Quick. The food is usually done before I can get sauces and napkins and drinks. The food always tastes good (even if sloppily prepared at times) and I’m very glad they brought potato cakes back. There are always coupons in the mail that make it pretty affordable for a quick meal.
Ok so we rely on this fast drive through for the kids when they need their “favorite sandwich”, the original roast beef. Service is friendly. The inside has been renovated and is so fresh and clean. Nice wood accents. Tables spaced apart, high and low seating. The jalapeño poppers filled with cream cheese were spot on, totally hot and crispy, fried fresh. Best I’ve ever had.
Only a few things took away the one star. Sticky bathroom floor and ketchup machine was empty, just a few small details to improve. The bathrooms I approve of otherwise. Huge, very handicap accessible, nice diaper changer inside for babies and toddlers. The wraps there (Buffalo chicken is my favorite) is, dare I say, phenomenal. It’s spicy and crispy with a fresh stretchy tortilla-style whole wheat wrap. Could use a tad more lettuce inside though. I saw today they have a Cajun catfish wrap. Sounds interesting.
Spent just under $30 today feeding 3 people (2 of them kids).
Update and tip: if you are down to the bottom of your fries supply etc, and you say, fresh fries coming up just wait an extra couple minutes, please don’t give someone one order of fries that’s the bottom of the last batch and soggy-like warm and one batch that’s nice and new and hot and fresh. Clearly you give the customer a fully fresh batch. Just an error in judgement but some training/policy could be used.
We miss Arby's, they all closed in our area, so when we had the chance to stop and eat. We were delighted.
Their curly French fries are the best! And nothing says nostalgia more than a classic roast beef with Arby's sauce.
The staff also brought our food to our table which was a nice surprise.
It's impossible for me to go there and not get the beef and cheddar, so I don't know about their other sandwiches. I don't go there often as they're not close to me, but when I do, it's always a treat. Curly fries and drinks are good. Never had a bad experience with food or service. Average for a fast food joint.
It was Father’s Day and I wanted THE MEATS. So we drove out so I could enjoy my double roast beef with Swiss. It was good… but honestly, a little cold. Arby’s was my first job long ago so I know the potential. This was a lacking.
I rarely eat inside an Arby's, and this is my first time at this particular Arby's. I'm aware that they make the sandwiches so I can be patient. I did notice a customer spilling his drink on the floor, and the staff was so understanding and patient. Props to them I might have lost my cool. I will be coming here again BECAUSE of this first time experience.

I usually don’t do this but it’s just for food safety purposes. I ordered my sandwich at 11:30 and it got here at 12:30.. i look at my sandwich and there was hair in it. Please make sure to wear gloves when you make sandwiches.. because just imagine finding a piece of hair in your food.. it’s for real nasty.

This is a terrible location we won’t be ordering from again. We ordered lunch for the office and most sandwiches came with next to no meat. Mine came with absolutely NO meat. When I called to get it corrected they said I could drive in and pick up the meat. Manger is rude and short. I agree with other reviewers that they would be better served with a manager that cared at least a little bit about customer experience.
