Nestled within the enchanting Kumarakom Lake Resort, Ettukettu Specialty Restaurant is a culinary gem that beautifully marries history and gastronomy. This 115-seater establishment is not just a dining venue; it’s an architectural marvel that reflects the grandeur of Kerala's royal heritage. Originally built as a gift from King Marthanda Varma to his martial arts instructor, Ettukettu has been thoughtfully relocated to serve as a hub for exquisite dining experiences.
The Kumarakom Lake Resort has already won my heart and this multi cuisine restaurant is a cherry on the top. The place is so so soothing. Beautiful experience. The Ettukettu from Kayamkulam has been brought here and set up in all its glory. The atmosphere inside is amazing .The artisan work is absolutely speaking volumes of our ancestral talents of intrinsic wood carving. Since we stayed there, it was my birthday and they brought a mini pastry for breakfast. That was so good.
Priyanka S — Google review
A must visit restaurant at Kumarakom. All sea food cuisines were so fresh and cooked in the spice level we requested. Our son loved it. PS: Not a budget friendly one but it’s really worth the money you pay.
Athira U — Google review
Just had a lunch for 4 at the Ettukettu multi-cuisine restaurant at the Kumarakom Lake Resort. We were not staying at the property. Our order- the Karimeen Pollichathu (a couple), 4 Kerala porottas, a beef ullarthiyathu, the chicken palpizhinja curry, a Lahori murgh, a veg pulao, a paneer tikka and a couple of payasams for dessert. The food and service were excellent. Special standouts were the porotta, the Lahori murgh and Karimeen. My only complaint is that local classics ie- Karimeen Pollichathu and Duck Roast or Mappas is not on the menu! I do not understand why these delicacies are missing on the menu. Our total bill for 4 was about Rs. 8500/- Highly recommended.
AJ L — Google review
Very good breakfast and dinner buffet. We just didn’t understand why sometimes there would be buffet for dinner and some other days you could only order from the menu. A wide variety of options to eat.
Itziar A — Google review
Nice place to have lunch/dinner. The ambience is top notch. Food is good as well. The service is very prompt.
Swapnil K — Google review
Ettukettu located in Kumarakom Lake Resort, went for lunch at this restaurant during my visit in Kumarakom on a Sunday, our hotel person recommended the same. We got a table at the restaurant and opted for a lunch buffet. Ambiance: The resort is huge, and the restaurant is located near the reception. The place is surrounded by garden and even have water running from between the restaurant in an artificial canal though the water I wish could be clean. Service: The staff is polite and professional, they even made dal rice without any chilis as it was required for the child. Drinks: We ordered beer which was served chilled so no complaints from my side. Food: We had the buffet lunch; the spread was good. For starters they had prawns and samosas, they had multiple salads & Soups. For the main course we had choice of fish curry, mutton, and veg. along with breads to order. They even had Chinese option and the chicken in the same selection was very good. The best was the dessert section they had lot of options for the same including ice cream, Indian sweets, Cakes and puddings. Cost: Cost for our meal along with 2 beer was around 4000 INR which was not too expensive compared to the ambiance and food. Buffet cost for one is 1500 INR. Overall a good property and one can give it a try if you in Kumarakom.
Yatin S — Google review
Chef's signature chicken was super tender chicken 65. Really liked that one. Fish and chips was good. But the fish didn't feel that fresh. Not happy with the portion size of braised lamb. I tried apple pie. The raisins were overpowering the flavour rather than complementing the apples. Ambience and service was nice.

Tharavadu Family Restaurant is a top dining spot in Kumarakom, offering a delightful experience along Kerala's backwaters. It stands out for its focus on local delicacies and traditional flavors, making it a must-visit for travelers seeking an authentic taste of the region. The restaurant's menu features a diverse array of seafood preparations including fish, lobster, and crab, as well as various meat dishes such as duck and chicken.
Tharavadu Restaurant, Kumarakom – A Perfect Spot for Family Dining Located near the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary 🐦, Tharavadu Restaurant offers a lovely traditional experience with ample car parking and a cozy resting area featuring a swing. You can choose between A/C halls (which may require some waiting) or airy small huts with fans that stay pleasantly cool. They serve നാടൻ കള്ള് (naadan kall) and an impressive variety of seafood and meat – including fish, crab, squid, lobster, beef, and chicken. Don't miss their Karimeen Pollichathu, Crab Roast, and Koonthal Roast. Meals with steamed rice, kappa, appam, porotta, and chappathi are also available. GPay is accepted, they offer parcel service, and the pricing is very reasonable – our meal for two with meals, kappa, crab roast, karimeen pollichathu, and pork roast cost just ₹1000. Highly recommended for families! 😊

A restaurant with toddy parlour in the Kumarakom road . The seafood varieties are just awesome. Every side dish in the meals are great. Enough open parking inside the compound, AC and non AC rooms are available. Because of the Toddy you may feel a bad smell in AC and locked rooms. Open huts are quite comfortable. Service boys did good job .
Veena N — Google review
I visited Tharavadu Kallushap, a well-known toddy parlour and restaurant in Kumarakom, on a holiday evening. As a vegetarian, I found the options to be quite minimal, but my friends who opted for non-veg dishes were pleased with their selections. While I wasn't impressed with the 'kappa,' they thoroughly enjoyed all the non-veg curries they tried. The ambiance was lively, fitting for a holiday gathering, and I appreciated that there was decent parking available. Overall, it’s a good spot, especially for those who enjoy fish and other non-veg delicacies!
Akhil A — Google review
We came here on a recommendation of a driver who took us from Munnar to Kumarakom. We read the reviews of longer waiting periods and also the waiter told us that it might take 20 min until the fish will be ready. This is absolutely okay for freshly prepared fish. It was very tasty, good portion sizes with a lot of sauces and side dishes. We also tried our first toddy (sweet and fermented), which was a bit strange at first but also tasty :D The staff was welcoming and friendly as well. We asked to be seated in a non-ac room and had a nice outside area with fan and shade.

Very bad experience. At 12:30pm Ordered for chapati, duck curry and kozhuva/ netholi fry. Chapati was ready to cook packet one, got hard by the time finished half of the chapati, couldn’t eat the other half. Fish fry didn’t even try, served very cold, looks like fried yesterday, fish was not at all cleaned, scales, head, tail everything was there. Duck mappas curry was ok.
Sheela R — Google review
If you are willing to wait for 2 hours for somebody to take your order and another 2 hours to deliver it this is a great place. It is recommended that you come in the morning and place an order so that you will get it by evening and leave by midnight. You have gen Z waiters with amazing attitude who will loo at you as if you have asked for their kidney fry.
Rajmohan K — Google review
For a new restaurant the food was really good, and the ambience was great but the only issue we faced was the delay in making the food, we were told it would take an approximate of 10-15 mins but it took around 45 - 60 mins. If this issue could have been fixed it would have made for a better experience.

Fine dining restaurant
Vembanad, located in the stunning Taj Kumarakom, is a culinary gem that promises an unforgettable dining experience. This popular restaurant offers a delightful array of dishes ranging from traditional biryani and masala prawns to Italian favorites like penne arrabiata. Guests are encouraged to make reservations ahead of time, especially if they’re not staying at the hotel. The ambiance is charmingly designed like a shack with open sides that overlook an artificial lake, creating a serene atmosphere for diners.
VEMBANAD BISTRO in Taj Kumarakom, I visted them on 10th May for diner with my wife and kid. The place requires reservation so please get one if you are not an inhouse guest. For dinner the place had a buffet, we were told ala cart won’t be possible, so we opted for the buffet. The spread was not too big, but the food was nice and tasty. My review for the same is as below: Ambiance: The place is made as a shack, so it is open on sides and faces the artificial lake created by Taj. Overall, I liked the ambiance of the place and special for dinner time they arranged a small performance of Bharatanatyam which added to the ambiance and made the experience better and more cultural. Service: Though it was a self-serve buffet but the staff taking care of us Mr. Rajneesh was very kind and helpful. He made us comfortable and always happy to help. For the kid they didn’t charge the buffet and let us order anything we liked for her, which is as per Taj hospitality a great thing to do. Drinks: We just had beer which was served cold and accompanied with some spicy tapioca chips. Food: The spread had two types of soups, in starters they didn’t had anything besides bread which was bit of a letdown. The main course had a good variety for both vegetarian and non-vegetarian, my favorite items were Fish Curry, Mutton Rogan josh, Appam, Baked Vegetables. Price: The cost for our dinner along with 3 beer was 5000 INR which I feel was value for money for the service & experience I had. Overall, I recommend the place for anyone visiting Kumarakom area, it has a very good vibe and defiantly would be a good option for dinner or lunch.
Yatin S — Google review
Fantastic property and great service. Pizza was ok. Food generally is just Ok; nothing to write home about. Takes ages to arrive and main course has not arrived after one hour. fresh Juice was Good. Tender Coconut Milk Shake was too good. Mutton was not good. natholi fry was not up to the mark
MAHADEVAN P — Google review
Ambience is nice if you are ok with the occasional mosquitos. Service is good, but understaffed, hence not so fast. Coming to the main thing, the food. It is bland and not authentic spicy Kerala cuisine. The portion sizes are small too as you can see from the images. Whatever the menu items are priced, but for such small portion sizes, it is not worth it.
Dr. S — Google review
Ok 3 star coz Taj has a reputation to keep and I must admit I have never rated a Taj property so low, why I am doing so inspite of the wonderful service offered by the restaurant staff is coz of the quality of food served. Had ordered karimeen pollichathu and rice for my wife and chicken burger with bacon and fries for myself. Though the seafood was good the burger was mediocre. Not to mention it took forever to deliver. Otherwise the ambience was good, we sat in the outdoor restaurant next to the pond.
Yadhiraj V — Google review
DO NOT order western food here--we ordered grilled chicken and got something baked, smothered in salty gravy with a side of beat-up vegetables. We also had a salad that featured wilted lettuce and stale croutons. They clearly do not know how to cook western food and we paid near $40 US for this terrible food.
Julie W — Google review
Do advance booking for dining. À la carte is better than buffet. I tried masala prawns, chicken biriyani, Neymeen pollichathu as Catch of the day and tender coconut souffle with tender coconut icecream-all were delicious. Chicken biriyani was flavourful, chicken was very tender and juicy. Masala prawns were crispy outside and tender inside with prefect spices. Neymeen pollichathu was my favorite among all. Tender coconut Souffle was so pure and delicate and melted in my mouth. The ambience is very serene.
Angela P — Google review
The restaurant / coffee shop in Taj Kumarakom with a view of their lagoon and a superb ambience. Of course, there is the Taj hospitality that makes it an even better attraction.

The atmosphere is enhanced by stunning sunset views that create a magical backdrop for relaxation. Cocobay Resort boasts well-maintained premises where attentive staff members ensure every need is met with warmth and efficiency.
Very peaceful & calmed place. I enjoyed my stay here. Room & bathroom was clean. Just that the floor was a bit oily due to people go for massage and step in with oily foot. Bed & pillow were very comfortable. Huge spacious room. Superb windy during evening. I really enjoyed my stay at Cocobay. Need to park the car at the parking lot they provided and take a short boat ride to reach the resort. Food : delicious and the staff was superb helpful, friendly and kind. Swimming pool was well maintained. Few games available at the lobby where we can spend some time by playing chess n etc etc. Definitely will come again for enjoy the calmness.

Placed in a Serene ,calm and exotic location- right in the banks of vembanad lake. Even though area might be small but the way in which they maintain the property is too good. Room for improvement is there in restaurant service. Overall, by considering the rates in which they offer the rooms, repeated customers are ensured.
Ashwin V — Google review
We had a really bad experience at this property. The parking area is located quite far from the actual stay, and guests are expected to walk through a slushy, uneven path to reach the property. This was extremely inconvenient, especially as I was with my pregnant wife. When I refused to take that path due to her condition, the staff — some of whom are seen in the attached picture — were incredibly rude and unhelpful. Their behavior was unacceptable and made the situation even worse. I would strongly advise against booking this place if you have any difficulty walking, are pregnant, elderly, or have any health concerns. The setup is poorly planned, and the staff lacks basic courtesy and understanding. Attaching below the pictures of the way to the resort.

We stayed here with our family of 10 members. The resort is not valuable for the rate. This is only an average resort, but price is too high. Breakfast spread not good. Staffs are nice. Especially restaurant staffs are very cooperative and friendly. But the resort is not at all worth for the money

It is a very nice located in traditional architecture resort at the lake. You are pickup from the parking by boat. Resort is quite small, there is no much place to walk. Rooms are clean , good WiFi. Very good chef which servers very tasty food. Ayurveda center need to be strongly improved as it far away from real Ayurveda. There are very polite and helpful people working there.

Kilikkoodu Toddy Shop and Family Restaurant is a must-visit culinary gem nestled in the heart of Kumarakom, Kottayam district. This charming establishment stands out as a model toddy shop, offering an inviting atmosphere that perfectly blends tradition with comfort. Ideal for families and larger groups, Kilikkoodu features spacious dining areas, including air-conditioned rooms for those seeking a more relaxed meal experience. The restaurant is renowned for its delectable traditional dishes that showcase the rich flavors of Kerala cuisine.
We visited Kilikkoodu Toddy Shop and Family Restaurant around 12:30 pm and found it pleasantly quiet. The place has an AC section suitable for families. We tried the toddy, which was good, and enjoyed the duck mappas which was delicious. The prawns masala was average, but the appam was nice and the karimeen fry is definitely a must-try. Service was good, and while the prices are on the higher side, it’s expected for this kind of setup. Overall, a good experience and worth recommending for those who want to enjoy toddy and authentic Kerala dishes in a comfortable setting.

Visited this shop today. The food was tasty, though today it felt a bit extra sweet. Tried the prawn and chicken roast with kappa — all were good and well-prepared. 👍 Ample car parking available, which is very convenient.
SYAM K — Google review
Service was good and there’s ample car parking, which is a plus. The fish curry was tasty, but the prawns fry was just average. They also serve sweet toddy. Overall, the prices felt quite expensive for what was offered.
Sandeep A — Google review
We so badly wanted to experience the toddy shop culture and were pleasantly not disappoint. Even tho we got here pretty late, almost around 4pm, the place was still bustling and almost every room/table was full. Sadly however they had run out of rice along with most items but we tried their tomato curry, prawns roast, kappa and appam. The appam were fat pancakes, none like we've ever had before, not bad,not the best but doable. The tomato sabzi was mid. The toddy was surprising, a little fermented but good, but the prawns roast was incredible. So so delicious. Staff was also very attentive and prompt, loved it.
Dr. G — Google review
Kilikood Shapp Food was quite an average experience overall. The waiter didn’t properly explain the dish quantities, which led to an overload of meencurry on the table. The crab curry was the biggest disaster – no real essence of crab, just a fish curry with crab pieces thrown in. The kappa was okay, and the kakka fry, small fish fry, pork, and duck were decent but nothing outstanding. Parking space is sufficient, but the bathrooms were poorly maintained and there was no water, which made the overall experience less comfortable.
Arthana A — Google review
Too much hype- the duck mappas and pork roast were good. Kappa and podimeen fry were cold inspite of ordering it before 12. Beef fry was below average and chemeen curry was tasty but the chemeen was rubbery. Kallu was ok. All in all would not recommend - maybe once upon a time.
SAM — Google review
Patience is key here. Yes, it can get crowded at times, but the wait is absolutely worth it for an amazing food experience. The variety of dishes is impressive, with plenty of options and great flavors. Delays in service are understandable given the number of people eager to enjoy the food. It’s a wonderful place to savor homely meals paired with a variety of toddy, all in a family-friendly atmosphere with a pleasant ambience.

We had a wonderful experience here! The staff is excellent, always welcoming with warm smiles and great hospitality. They took such good care of our 6-month-old baby, which made our stay even more comfortable. We recently visited the Gokulam Grand Property in Kumarakom and all we can say is we would loved to visit over and over again. We stayed in the property for 2 days and yet feels like we wanted to stay more. So many in house activities and well crafted experiences that you don't need to step out of the property. From morning boat rides to breaksfast to cycyling inside the property all the way to kayaking paddle boating all within the resort and then followed by Hi-tea and sunset cruise everything was memorable experience. Special mention to Mahalingam during sunset cruise who is such wonderful sport and took each and every guest to the spot in boat and clicked thousands of their photos is what we all needed during the joy ride. He made us pose and clicked photos and never said no... no matter how many photos you ask for. And yes our 8 month old son was so well handlled by staff that we actually relaxed while enjoying our meal and the staff took care of the kid. They entertained him played with him and all while serving us with most delicious food. They provided baby cribs everytime we asked whether in room or in resturant Everything was super clean, well maintained and most importantly well thought in terms of experience. Also if you want to visit the Pink Lily Lake that's going crazy viral in Instagram ask the travel desk for hidden gem near the resort. The one on Instagram is overly crowded but the one where resort staff suggested is much secluded and mesmerizing. Do not miss the cultural event in the evening. We would love to visit again 😊 ❤️

I truly found paradise on earth in Gokulam Grand. It was raining heavily when we arrived, but the beauty of the hotel captured my heart. It was a dream come true to find one of my favourite superstar Mohanlal sir as my neighbour. He was so warm and we could see his shoot for 3 hours without any trouble. It seems, each and every person in Kerala is simply great. Besides, some huge breakfast and dinner spread, hotel provides many facilities to keep the guests entertained. Amazing dance performances, food demo, yoga, boating etc etc. The staff is so caring that you feel like king. Decor of the room was charming. Layout and landscape will leave you mesmerising. It was a memorable stay for me anywhere. I will definitely come to Gokulam Grand in future also and will recommend to whoever planning a special holiday. You will not regret. This is genuine feeling coming straight from my heart ❤️.

Review for Gokulam Grand Resort and Spa Kumarakom – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐* We had an amazing experience at *Gokulam Grand Resort and Spa Kumarakom*. This 5-star resort truly exceeded our expectations in every way. The surroundings were serene, the ambiance was luxurious, and the service was simply exceptional. The staff were warm, professional, and always ready to help. Our room was spacious, clean, and beautifully designed with a perfect view. We enjoyed every moment — from the delicious meals to the relaxing spa and peaceful atmosphere. Highly recommended for anyone seeking comfort, nature, and world-class hospitality. Would definitely love to come back again!

I stayed for one night at Gokulam Grand Resort and really enjoyed my time there. The resort itself is beautiful, with stunning scenery all around and a unique architectural design made from spectacular teak wood. The atmosphere felt both luxurious and cozy. There were plenty of activities inside the resort, offering a wide variety of options for both relaxation and fun. My room was very clean, and the staff were friendly, professional, and always willing to assist, which made the stay even better. However, I did notice a couple of safety concerns. The lake is very deep but has no handrail to prevent children from accidentally falling in. Additionally, some of the tall coconut trees don’t have safety nets, which could be risky if coconuts fall. Addressing these safety issues would make the resort even more perfect. Overall, it’s a wonderful place to stay, and I would recommend it for its beauty, service, and variety of experiences.

Our stay at Gokulam Grand was truly enjoyable and unforgettable. The property is new, impeccably maintained, and spotlessly clean. What truly sets it apart is the staff — every single member greets you with a genuine smile, making you feel welcome at every moment. Their constant attention to our comfort made the experience feel effortlessly luxurious. The variety offered at breakfast and dinner were impressive — offering a wide variety of dishes that cater to every taste. It’s nearly impossible to try everything in one visit — but every bite was worth it! To keep guests engaged, the resort offers a delightful range of activities including evening cruises, cooking demonstrations, cultural performances, a floating bridge, bamboo rafting, country boating, lagoon canoeing, pedal boating, fishing, and much more. The landscaping throughout the property deserves special praise — it's beautifully designed and adds to the serene ambiance. Overall, Gokulam Grand delivers a perfect blend of hospitality, cleanliness, and culinary excellence. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a relaxing, luxurious, and heartwarming stay.

Lemon Tree Café has such a lovely ambiance and a wonderful selection of fresh juices that are really reasonably priced, plus a ton of snacks and sweets (and tea/coffee options for the caffeine-inclined). With a focus on diverse culinary offerings, it stands out as one of Kumarakom's must-visit spots for food enthusiasts seeking an unforgettable meal in a beautiful setting.
My heart truly belonged to the restaurant by the ambience. They always served with a smile, and the meal was great. Because of the stunning setting and the restaurant's view of the lake, we feel free, feeling at peace. The staff is the best; I wish I could have included their names, but I forgot. Best wishes.

I only ordered a coffee, and in hindsight, that was enough. India, for all its culinary splendour, often falls short when it comes to coffee. But here, they've raised the bar—though not in a good way. The coffee served tastes like something out of a sachet—a faint, almost nonexistent coffee flavour, smothered by the overwhelming taste of powdered milk. It’s the kind of coffee that makes you question the very nature of the beverage and, frankly, I’m glad I didn’t venture into the breakfast menu. If this is what they can do with a simple coffee, who knows what they'd do with breakfast?

Great resort with best ever facilities. The view was great and restaurant being close to pool and backwaters gave the best view. We visited in 2nd week of may, though it was hot and humid, it was worth visiting. The food options for veg were limited. The only suggestion is that improve the options for veg cuisine. I am member of karma group from last 2 years, and this is there best property in India terms of view.

I recently visited **Karma Chakra - The Waterside Restaurant** in Kumarakom, and it was an amazing experience. The location is perfect, right by the serene Vembanad Lake, offering a peaceful and scenic dining atmosphere. The restaurant is beautifully set by the waterside, with both indoor and outdoor seating options. The outdoor seating is the best if you want to enjoy the lake view and the cool breeze. The place has a calm and relaxing vibe, making it ideal for a peaceful meal. I ordered **fried rice with chilli gobi and chapathi**, and the food was delicious. The fried rice was well-cooked with the right balance of flavors, and the chilli gobi was crispy and perfectly spiced. The chapathi was soft and fresh, complementing the meal well. The staff was polite and attentive, ensuring that everything was perfect. They suggested dishes based on our preferences, which was really helpful. The service was prompt, and the food arrived without much waiting time. The prices are a bit on the higher side, but considering the quality, ambiance, and overall experience, it’s worth it. If you're in **Kumarakom** and looking for a great dining spot with a scenic view and delicious food, **Karma Chakra - The Waterside Restaurant** is highly recommended. Guests rave about the generous portions and exceptional quality of food, making every meal a memorable experience. While some aspects like the wash area could use improvement, overall service is commendable with friendly staff ready to assist.
Absolutely Fantastic Stay! I recently had the pleasure of staying at this hotel and was thoroughly impressed, particularly with their food and service. The quality of the food was excellent. Every dish I tried was delicious and well-prepared. What truly stood out was the quantity and quality of food served – it was incredibly generous for the price, offering exceptional value for money. I definitely didn't leave hungry! Beyond the dining experience, the rooms were also a highlight. They were spotlessly clean and everything was functional, making for a comfortable and hassle-free stay.

Had meals on the way to Kumarakom from Kottayam. Very good food and staff. Highly recommended to try this place. Wash area is somewhat open and visible while eating. Find a place where it is not directly visible. Also the wash sink is very high and not convenient. Otherwise, everything else is perfect.

This hotel was an utter disappointment from the moment we stepped inside. The room was disgustingly dirty, with stained bedding, sticky floors, and a bathroom that looked like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks. I had dinner every night during my stay at Kumarakom in this restaurant. They have variety of food and juice options. I tried dal tadka and rice, chicken menani, and another item of prawn, I do not remember the dish name. All of the dishes were delicious and freshly made. The staff were also very courteous.
Debaleena S — Google review
I don’t usually leave reviews, but Menani deserves a warning label. First off, the place is tiny—cramped, uncomfortable, and definitely not somewhere you’d want to spend more than 50 minutes. It felt like an afterthought, not a real restaurant. But the worst part? The food made me sick. Within hours of eating there, I had a full-blown stomach ache that lasted all night. Something was definitely off. Whether it was poor hygiene, bad ingredients, or just careless cooking, I have no idea but it was not okay. Save yourself the trouble (and pain). There are plenty of better, safer options out there.

This is a multi-cuisine restaurant for south Indian, north Indian, and chainese food. They also serve barbecue and grilled items. For vegetarians, different types of North and South Indian dishes will be available. However, they mostly serve seafood and grilled items. They have a very good ambience and are more spacious for family and group dining. The menu is very extensive, but most of the items will not be available at all times. Food quality was good, but service to be improved because, after the order, it took them more than 30 minutes to serve the food.

The breakfast was complementary, but includes only dosa items, masala, tawa, kallappam & ghee roast. The tea is good. Fresh fruit juice is also available during the day Lunch and dinner are available and there is a wide vegetarian and non-vegetarian menu on offer. I found the food delicious and the service quick and efficient.

Guests are greeted with warm hospitality and presented with a tantalizing menu upon arrival.
Had lunch at this place while in Kottayam. Restaurant is situated inside a hotel premises. The food quantity, quality and taste was excellent. The good looking welcome drink was a good touch. The juices were refreshing. The Mutton Biryani tasted delicious. The recommended grilled fish was the best fish I have had in a long time. The fish was fresh and grilled to perfection. The cost of the grilled fish was around 2700 rupees, which was a tad high, but it was huge and could easy feed three people. The ambiance was great, although the wait can be a bit tiring. The restrooms amd wash areas were well maintained.

Best food in kottayam ❤️. A bit expensive expensive 💵. I had a CAESAR SALAD and it was really good. The PRAWNS BIRYANI was not worth 🥲 because it costed ₹440 and very few pieces of prawns were there. The CHICKEN BIRIYANI and pineapple juice was also good. Total it costed me ₹1323. The welcome drink was so nice. The wash area was very congested. Had enough parking spaces. Overall, it was a very good experience.

We visited the Grand Entree Select in Kottayam after wanting to try it out for a while. The restaurant itself is somewhat hidden in plain sight but once you spot it, you will be pleased to see its aesthetics and plush interiors. Once you are seated you will be promptly presented with a welcome drink with sufficient drama that is nice to see and definitely a plus. The menu is pretty exhaustive and if you’re like me, you will probably take a while to make up your mind. They offer a fusion of Kerala dishes including rice meals, North Indian, Chinese and continental dishes. Based on recommendations from the person who took our order, we tried a continental dish which was like a large platter. The platter was generous however, it was a bit too heavy on the palette and not up to the mark. So overall, my experience at the Grand Entree was somewhat mixed, I am yet to try out their other items and hopefully those should be nicer to make me a regular visitor.
Akanksha M — Google review
From the moment we stepped into Grand Entree , Kottayam, we were welcomed with a warm, attentive attitude that set the tone for the meal. Our own experience matched this: orders were handled efficiently, and the restaurant ambiance was inviting and clean, perfect for both families and friends. Our Dining Experience We sampled an impressive variety of dishes: • Paal Kappa (Tapioca in Coconut Milk): While some past diners found the kappa inconsistent, ours was fresh and paired excellently with the mains. • Fried Calamari: Perfectly crispy, but greasy. • Korean Chicken Wings: Zesty, well-seasoned. • Chicken Fried Rice (Schezwan & Plain): Both versions were well-balanced and not oily—ideal comfort food that pleased the palate. • Chicken Malabari: This dish was decent, but didn’t stand out. • Hot and Sour Chicken: Had a nice depth of flavor. • Dragon Chicken: The sweet-and-spicy sauce worked beautifully with the fried rice. Desserts For dessert, the sizzling brownie with ice cream offered a classic, decadent finish, while the elaneer pudding provided a refreshing, light alternative—highlighting the kitchen’s skill and creativity. Ambiance The restaurant’s ambiance is contemporary, comfortable, and clean, featuring gentle lighting and tasteful decor. It’s great for casual evenings out or special occasions. Grand Entree delivers a memorable dining experience. Would recommend

5/5 – Excellent Vegetarian Dining Experience I had a wonderful experience at this vegetarian restaurant. The food was fresh, flavorful, and prepared with great care. Every dish was perfectly balanced – not too oily or spicy – making it both delicious and healthy. The staff were polite and attentive, and the service was quick. The ambiance was clean and comfortable, making it a great place for both family dining and casual meals. I especially loved the variety on the menu, with options that suit both traditional and modern tastes. If you’re looking for authentic vegetarian food that’s both satisfying and wholesome, this is definitely a place worth visiting! 🌿✨ Also they have sufficient parking space.😀

Visited here when we were on our way to Kochi. The place is clean, food is good, ambience is not bad. We had ghee roast and onion uttapam. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. Ample car parking space as well. Overall experience is very much positive.

Exceptional Vegetarian Dining Experience! During our journey from Kottayam to Kochi, we stopped here, and it was a delightful experience. The ambiance was warm and inviting, providing the perfect setting for a relaxed meal. The staff was friendly and attentive, enhancing our overall dining experience. The food was exceptional! The range of vegetarian dishes was impressive, with the coconut-based puddings, made from fresh tender coconut, standing out as a highlight. I highly recommend Shree Aaryadurga Bhavan for its delicious vegetarian cuisine, excellent service, and wonderful atmosphere!

I recently visited here and was quite disappointed with the experience. We ordered two ghee roasts and two coffees. The coffee was terrible – weak and tasteless. As for the ghee roast, it was served with a very small portion of sambar, which tasted stale, like it was made the day before. The chutney that came with the roast was just average. To make things worse, they didn't even offer drinking water. When I went to the washroom, I noticed the pipe water just leaking out. It was unhygienic and a clear sign of poor maintenance. On top of all that, the prices were surprisingly high, even higher than what you'd find in bigger cities like Kochi, but the quality definitely didn’t match the price. The only redeeming factor was the ample parking space, but that alone doesn’t make up for the poor food and overall bad experience. I won't be returning.

Food is good . Only pure Veg restaurant in nearby area with Jain options available. On request, Paneer sabji was made less spicy for kids. We went thrice and food was good for tummy during our stay.

The food is good. We ordered ghee roast, mushroom fried rice, mushroom biriyani, idli, coffee, black tea, lime soda, milk. Affordable and good food. Recommending the mushroom fried rice. Ghee roast is also good. We stopped on the way to ernakulam on the Vaikom--- kottayam road. The hotel is on the roadside itself. Total bill for 5 people- 745 Small shopping space also- for sanitary essentials are available. Clean washroom or toilet- available- gents, women🚻✅ Wheelchair accessibility available-♿✅

It was a good experience. The food was finger licking good . Atmosphere and service is also really appreciable. They have a huge parking area. There is no steps which is really helpful for those who use walker or wheelchair.wonderful choice if you are looking for pure vegetarian foods.
