Castle Hill, located in Huddersfield, is a prominent ancient monument dating back almost 4000 years. The hill features the iconic Victoria Tower, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the town and countryside. It has been a popular recreational spot for centuries and is a favorite among hikers, nature enthusiasts, and photographers. The site also boasts an Iron Age hillfort and has been a subject of legend and scientific study.
It was very nice, has lovely views. My only criticism is the footpath from the car park to the castle isn’t very good for rollators/walking frames. I couldn’t use it, so my Dad had to walk to it without me.
Myles B — Google review
Sent our bikes up here one day, absolutely gorgeous view, but the land and heather around the tower was burned- no big deal. Going down the hill full speed was great though, if you’ve got a free day and like mountain biking I’d recommend it.
Ibraheem M — Google review
Castle Hill is one of Huddersfield’s best spots to visit. On a sunny day, the scenery is absolutely beautiful you get amazing panoramic views across the countryside. It’s the perfect place for a relaxing walk or to just sit and enjoy the fresh air. The historic Victoria Tower adds a nice touch, and there’s a lot of open space for families, couples, or anyone looking to unwind. It’s also a great place for photos, especially at sunset. Whether you’re local or just visiting, Castle Hill is definitely worth the trip. Peaceful, scenic, and full of character.
Zhaid A — Google review
The views are awesome from the top of the tower , you have to walk up the steps and round a corner to see if its open to be able to walk to the top , only £2.50 each tho .
Steve S — Google review
First time we have been, the views are spectacular. We went off to do a 10 mile walk and when we came back had a good walk round the tower. The only negative thing I can say is that it needs a few picnic benches scattered around, other than that, loved it, will definitely go back again
Barbara H — Google review
Get there on a clear day and you will see far and wide. Went there in the 90's and was very happy to go back. Narrow roads to get there but with good parking. Very friendly staff to give you any history and for the young ones a dragon toy to take up with you!! And yes if your an adult you can clutch one too..small cash price to help keep history going that is needed.x
Kevin R — Google review
Great place for a picnic on the hill. The views are breathtaking, and the entry is free. Must go if you are around Huddersfield. The Victoria Tower is absolutely stunning.
Farrukh H — Google review
Beautiful day walking on the tops, great views. Real shame about the absence of boards, showing features on horizon at all points of compass, as they do at Beacon Hill, Halifax. Also it was meant to be open today, as signed, but it wasn't! Different walks are good, but I suspect the weather needs to be good also.

This vibrant venue showcases a diverse range of artistic expressions including drama, dance, music, and comedy. From gripping plays to mesmerizing musicals and enthralling concerts, the theatre hosts professional touring productions as well as local community performances.
Lovely theatre. It was the first time I’d been and I was impressed with the building - the elegant facade and courtyard and the beautiful well laid out auditorium. There were lots of helpful staff. Quick service at the bar and directions to seats. The show was amazing. A century of swing. Such a pleasure to be entertained locally by accomplished and talented musicians.
Janet M — Google review
We attended the Lawrence Batley Theatre for my son’s final Big Band performance before he graduates from Huddersfield University; a lovely venue, handy parking nearby and very reasonably priced tickets & refreshments. Also, the theatre decors is outstandingly tasteful and the acoustics were excellent. 5 stars and we’ll be back :)
Paul J — Google review
The LBT is a great theatre. I wish there was more on there. It’s convenient, a great auditorium and a decent bar. Yesterday’s gig by the Dire Straits tribute was superb. We are lucky to have it.

Just seen One Night in Nashville. Brilliant group of very talented people. Sung lots of of our favourites. The theatre staff too are always friendly and helpful. Carol & Jill

Brilliant performance of School of Rock The children were fantastic as were the adults from Longwood Theatre Productions. The staff and volunteers are fantastic helpful kind what more can I say. The place is clean and tidy. Couldn't have had a better Saturday afternoon. Went home and watched the film and Must say the theatre production was so much better. If you get chance to see this in another venue I would recommend you go watch them.

Museums
Huddersfield Art Gallery, housed in the same building as the town library, has a rich history dating back to its opening in 1940. Initially used as a hospital during World War II, it officially became an art gallery in 1946 with the launch of a major exhibition by Sir Kenneth Clark. The gallery showcases local and internationally renowned artists such as L.S. Lowry and Henry Moore.
A really nice gallery space on the top floor of the library building. There's a small number of permanent exhibits including highlights by Lowry and Francis Bacon. It's a really great space to have your work exhibited and I've had photos in the gallery every year since 2009 as part of the annual exhibition run by Huddersfield Photo Imaging Club in Kirkheaton. It's quiet and always a pleasant place to while away some time.
Kev L — Google review
it's a small interest art gallery, lot to look at. nice quiet atmosphere
Stephen T — Google review
A gorgeous art gallery that gets overlooked too often by passersby. There's a beautiful inhouse collection of paintings, and a new exhibit on every time I visit. It's not big enough for crowds, but a group of fotry could spend a good twenty minutes here. The main drawback is accessibility, if you don't like stairs, you'll need to take the worn-out lift from the ground floor. And I've only used it once, because the lingering smell of body odour was so repulsive. Please clean out that lift! 😷 With some more attention to cleanliness, and better advertisement, this could become more than a hidden gem.
Martyre20 — Google review
If you're in Huddersfield shopping, its really worth having a look in the art gallery as sometimes they have some great exhibitions on. It's a really big space and they often run workshops etc if you're interested in art. Staff generally leave you to browse but are happy to help if you have questions.
Jonny D — Google review
A small collection of choice paintings, sculpture and ceramics. Some interesting exhibitions; the Chris Gollon one is particularly good. Building showing signs of our maintenance and gents toilet is shabby.
Gavin C — Google review
Poor pictures and art in the gallery. For example a women standing in front of Lidles supermarket taken by a phone camera, it states people who shop there are idiots. It states she is disadvantaged becuase she watches too much Netflix. Again pointless picture. Much of the work has no meaning to it. I will not go again.

History Museums
Tolson Memorial Museum, located just over a mile from the town center of Huddersfield, is housed in the Victorian mansion Ravensknowle Hall. The museum offers a diverse range of historical and natural history exhibits, including Roman finds, a unique Valveless Car from 1914, and an extensive collection of taxidermied birds.
What a staple gem of a place still going in Huddersfield. Educational and full of local history this museum is pretty much unchanged in 40 years or longer but who cares because it's still going and it is full of useful items of interest over the years. If you haven't been for a long while or never been at all then I would urge you to visit. It's FREE as well. Also we had two great cups of coffee, which were better than most cafe to be fair st very reasonable rate. Limited bites only. Snackie stuff.
Ian W — Google review
Loved all the exhibits, and pretty much just the right amount of info - on a par with Cliffe Castle Museum in Keighley. Only problem was I found the exhibits upstairs poorly lit - I realise this costs money, but maybe it could be ramped up if there are plenty of visitors. One final comment: the Hulk Hogan doll must be removed - he's a racist and a fascist, who supports Trump; wholly unacceptable in a British museum - please find a replacement: maybe Postman Pat!
Mike W — Google review
This was a brilliant museum to visit, covering a wide scope with its artefacts! There is a military section including memorials to soldiers and toy battleships with sandbags in the background, leading into the Victoria section. This demonstrates the different entertainment shows and clothing from their times, alongside information about how different schooling truly was then! Artefacts of bottles, plates and cups are shown in a separate room giving more insight into living for people. A transport section seems to be upstairs with various bikes including a pink, yellow and blue one, alongside a couple of tractors. I really liked the trains part with all the different station signs and model trains, a tram is even included in the museum that can actually be walked right across! Later on, there is more general amenities from past eras, old industrial equipment and even a countryside with housing depiction of what the area used to be like.
K. P — Google review
This is a relatively small but interesting museum close to the centre of Huddersfield. It had displays on local history, transport and WW1. It's set in parkland and there is a play area and small gift shop.

Fabulous local museum! Beautiful building, wonderful varied exhibits. But what really makes it special is the incredible staff who welcome you! Superb. 👌🙌🙏

Was very suprised and delighted how much on show they have, I won't put too many photos on go visit! Free parking and admission, plus garden, we bought cuppas and fudge though donations welcome. Take a picnic and ball for the field, make it last a good few hours!! x

Free parking. Free entry. Not huge but a good sized museum with a good collection of items. Ideal for any age, cafe and gift shop withing museum with a kids playground on the parks site.

Nature & Parks
Greenhead Park, located near Huddersfield, is a popular destination for families and nature enthusiasts alike. The park offers two play areas, a miniature railway, a large pond, and ample green space for leisurely strolls or picnics. For those seeking a budget-friendly date idea, the park's proximity to the university makes it an ideal spot for a romantic picnic. Additionally, visitors can enjoy sports courts, cafes, and seasonal activities such as paddle pond during their visit.
Lovely park, we were very surprised at how attractive and well kept the park is. We parked on the road to the side of the park quite close to one of several gates. There is plenty of interest including a pond, little bridges, tennis courts, bowling greens, play grounds, band stand and possibly a cafe/ice cream and miniature railway in the summer. Although it was a cool day, there was still an ice cream van in action. A very nice 2 1/2 mile walk.
Judy D — Google review
Lovely place to sit and spend some quiet time on a sunny day. Free entry and very clean inside. We were lucky to enjoy the colour festival on the day we went. Overall, it is a good place for children and elderly both.
Amit D — Google review
Well maintained, maybe this is where my astronomical council tax money is going. The park and play areas are very clean and modern, a lot of effort has gone into the up keep and there is a lot of history around the park. There was a water fountain maintenance team emptying a water feature on the day we visited and I would of thought they could of used the water a little more wisely during a hose pipe ban and general water shortage across the country, (like watering the plants) rather than pumping the water straight onto the nearby path.
Gav C — Google review
A very beautiful park. Came here a couple of times just to walk and spend some time in nature. Lots of open areas for children to play and run around. Football, basketball, and tennis courts on one end too. Saw a cafe too, I think (not sure).
Saeed A — Google review
A really lovely park with something for everyone. Free parking and lots of quiet areas to sit aswell as playgrounds for different ages an onsite cafe, ice cream man etc.

🌳 Greenaway Park, Huddersfield – A Hidden Gem! 🌳 Greenaway Park is absolutely stunning — one of the nicest locally. There’s so much to see and do for all ages, with plenty of amenities that make it a joy to spend the whole day here. Everyone we met was so happy, positive, and friendly — it really gives the park such a welcoming atmosphere. We stopped by the war memorial to pay our respects and took the opportunity to teach our children about the past — how our ancestors fought bravely and helped rebuild Britain. It was a peaceful and meaningful moment in such a beautiful setting. The play areas are fantastic, with separate spaces for babies, toddlers, and older kids. We enjoyed a lovely picnic before walking up to the café, which serves the most delicious ice cream in dipped wafer cones — highly recommend! Right opposite is the mini train, and the operators were so friendly and chatty; we had a lovely conversation before hopping on for a ride. Being early October, the trees had turned the most beautiful shades of red — the autumn colours made for some stunning photos. There’s also plenty of on-street parking, which made visiting super easy. This park offers so much to the community, and we’re truly grateful for everyone who volunteers and helps maintain such a special space. Greenaway Park is a perfect blend of beauty, history, and family fun — we’ll definitely be back! ❤️
Hana B — Google review
Greenhead Park is a delightful place to spend time outdoors. The park features beautiful walking paths and expansive areas for children to play. It's impressively clean and well-maintained, with ample garbage disposal facilities. The play areas are in excellent condition and appear to adhere to safety regulations, providing peace of mind for parents. A charming duck pond adds to the park's appeal, offering opportunities to observe wildlife. Additionally, there are plenty of benches and seating areas scattered throughout, making it easy to take a break and enjoy the surroundings. Overall, Greenhead Park is a wonderful spot for relaxation and recreation.
Mike B — Google review
Lovely Victorian park, well maintained with great facilities tennis, bowling, pickle, skatepark and patanque. Small cafe adjacent the tennis courts and a larger one in the former hothouse. Play facilities for children of all ages and fantastic Parkrun! Well worth a visit.

Nature & Parks
Beaumont Park, located on the outskirts of Huddersfield, offers more than just the typical park experience. With playgrounds and a bandstand, it also boasts stunning views of Castle Hill and features paths leading to woodland, waterfalls, and a disused railway. The heart of Huddersfield is home to this scenic park with walking trails perfect for nature lovers seeking tranquility.
Lovely family/couple park, very well kept and maintained, lots of different routes to do, short and long. Parking is easy, I went through the week so it was very quite, lots of benches and picnic spots, ice cream van on site along with toilets, lovely little water fall nice to sit next to and take pictures. Has a park for the kids to run round and let of some steam.
Fallon H — Google review
Beautiful place to explore. Lovely to take the children or the dogs. Fantastic scenery and geology and a good play park at the end. The downsides however, there wasn't a single open toilet. There is one but it was closed. At 3pm during the summer holidays. Absolutely ridiculous for such a public place. Also there was a shady looking character behaving suspiciously at the park. Could've been innocent but looked very sketchy. We felt uncomfortable and so left.
Louise C — Google review
Lovely park, lots to do including wooden animal sculptures trial. Great views of Huddersfield nd the castle view, some historic things to view, nature, gardens and a great play grounds. Had two defibrillators I saw to.
Zena B — Google review
Very nice place to visit with the kids, tidy place with nice views of the surrounding area. Great hiking exploring the old and new. Parking can be a bit of a chore as it doesn't have a car park and you have to find a place on nearby streets. Worth the visit
Zaheer R — Google review
Best place to spend your layer time it has greenery. It has kids play area it has trails where you can hike where you can go walk around it got like a little monument in the centre where you can sit relax where you can stand with you partner and talk have a view with a really amazing place and I must visit Place so that’s my review it’s 10/10. Do visit and share to others live in Huddersfield.

Tidy, well kept park. Nice mix of children's play park and nature walk with different paths to take. Toilets on site too.
Matt S — Google review
Beautiful park!! With two distinct walking routes. Left side for a fairy tale experience exploring rock formation, paths & steps, tree canopy, Gateway; and the right side for the playground, bandstand, Arches and a small pond. Clean, vast tree canopies and distant view of Castle Hill & Victoria Tower.
Sana B — Google review
Beautiful park with stunning views of the viaduct, the tower and surrounding hills. It has a good playground for small children. Toilets in need of an upkeep and a good clean. We loved the adventure of the trails and steps leading to the waterfalls, ponds, cliffs and site of the old castle walls and gates. Pity there is no longer the castle tearooms but there are information boards at the picnic area that show what it once was. What is left of the walls and gate is absolutely beautiful. There are also information boards on the old railway and station. The top of the park near the play area, toilets and information centre is great for everyone inc wheelchairs. It has the amazing views with lots of benches. But the trails and steps are only for those able bodied and good on their feet.

Colne Valley Museum, situated in Golcar near Huddersfield, is a tribute to the industrial legacy of the Colne Valley region. It offers an immersive experience into the daily lives and craftsmanship of 19th and early 20th-century inhabitants. The museum's weavers' cottages feature various workshops such as a Victorian kitchen, clog makers workshop, and blacksmiths forge.
Really liked this small local museum. Based on a traditional weavers cottage, it’s well thought out and run by local staff. Split over 3 levels giving a really good insight into cottage industries just at the Dawn of the Industrial Revolution. Very informative staff gave demonstrations on lacework, spinning yarn and weaving cloth, even giving out small samples of cloth made on the premises. There’s a small tearoom selling local homemade cakes etc which was nice too. I can highly recommend a visit here.
Long P — Google review
This is an amazing little museum, in little old Golcar but is staffed by the most amazing volunteers. Over the years it has expanded into several of the adjoining weavers cottages and now has so much more to it. Plenty of school trips are overseen and special days of baking Golcar Lily Bread. But to top it all, now they are starting with Afternoon Tea events, we went and it was so tasty. I hope you do many more ❤️❤️

Lovely little museum. Exceptional staff. Nice little cafe. Parking available 2 mins walk. If you're lucky...the well might be open (hard hats obligatory!)

Had the most wonderful outing to the Colne Valley Museum!!! What a place, the history was quite overwhelming!!! Incredible insight into the cottage industries. They only open on a weekend for visitors, although they open during the week for schools. It's well worth a visit, very interactive, you can try things and watch the demonstrations, there's even a lovely coffee shop. Do go if you get the chance!!! The staff are so welcoming and it really is one of Huddersfield's hidden gems.
Emma K — Google review
The excellent volunteers that run this museum made our visit exceptional. Their knowledge and demonstrations are second to none! We spoke for ages to the weavers and watched them run the manual looms. The spinner was very engaging with his demonstration and tales. And the clog maker - massive in-depth knowledge and some good tales to tell. The lady in Mrs Pearson's kitchen was very engaging and spoke to us all. She pointed out all the features of the kitchen and explained how people lived in the time of Mrs Pearson. The cafe was lovely with fine tea and coffee served. The museum is small, but please spend time talking to the volunteers. Definitely recommend if you want to learn about local life in bygone years and our heritage. Thank you to the volunteers for making our visit so memorable.
Peter C — Google review
Took my dad for the Autumn Afternoon Tea. The food was delicious and all home made. The volunteers wear Victorian costume and the atmosphere is lovely. It is obvious that a lot of care and pride is taken in running the tea room and the museum. The museum is fascinating too and really a great glimpse into the past from people with a great deal of knowledge. It is really an immersive experience. We will definately go again and would highly recomend. Parking was easily found on the road nearby too.
Han B — Google review
A wonderful and surprising gem, showing the areas very interesting history through the ages. Worth a visit if you are in the area. Parking can be quite difficult to find as the village is well used by locals and visitors alike. But worth the time and trouble some fantastic local walks to enjoy and some unbelievable views across the area
Edward M — Google review
I came to the museum on 9th September with the Association for Industrial Archaeology's visit, which I very much enjoyed. You were all really welcoming (despite our group being a couple of hours later than originally booked) and the museum contains lots of interest, including the building itself. Of all the visits undertaken that week, the most special highlight for me was seeing your spinning jenny being operated. I have known about them ever since my schooldays decades ago, but always assumed very few were left and only in a fragile state in museums. I live in Dorset, so perhaps they are common in West Yorkshire! Your area is where my wife was born and brought up, so it was nice seeing the landscape and meeting the locals. Dr Peter Stanier

The facility features various attractions including rope bridges, ball pits, and a cafe for parents. Visitors praise the friendly staff and reasonable prices, with sessions costing as little as 1.50.
Great soft play. Reasonable coffee. Clean. Can sit on tables and see the whole play space. Food is good. Kids meals are good value. Only negative is the chairs are a bit too low for the tables.

Nice place for babies and todlers in Huddersfield centre. Facility is good. Staffs are always friendly and warm-hearted welcome. Cafe is good, I love luxury hot chocolate here. I always order drinks because my young baby get free to come 😝 Just one thing needed to improve is the hygiene is not cleaned well enough. Just make sure you wipe and clean toys usually.
Mia N — Google review
Took my little one here on Monday and it we both had a lovely time! Lots of fun bits to explore and great exercise for the adults 😂 Outdoor area was lovely and clean. Very accommodating to dietary needs too! Staff were, warm and welcoming. Indoors had a distinctive smell - not sure whether it was because it had rained and and so you could smell soggy clothes? Also the balls in the ball pit were a bit sticky which was a little off putting. Overall I’d come again. £2.85 was a bargain price and with so much to do my little one was well entertained. Thank you!

Took my 3 year old during the school holidays. Nice place. Clean. Friendly. Decent size. Could use a few more healthy options in the kids cafe and maybe a few more toys outside.

Really lovely soft play. Not the biggest, but our favourite. Very clean, great seating for grown ups, cafe and WiFi. Gets very warm with all that energy in the space but feels very safe and chill.

I enjoy this play gym, its extremely reasonable and I appreciate that i don't have to pay for my 2 month old baby to attend (as some play gyms do charge for babys even though he doesn't go in yet of course). My daughter loves it and its nice they also have an outdoor area. My only problem, and I find this is a common theme across play gyms, certainly not just Fizzy Lizards, is the food. Why must it always be absolutely full of junk food?! Why can I not buy a piece of fruit or a healthy snack bar???? It infuriates me that I have to take my kids to these places and see the only options are chocolate bars, crisps, sweets, gingerbread men etc etc. Its not good enough, we dont need to encourage our children to eat like this all the time.

My go to playgym with my little two Always seems relatively clean and I find my child enjoys this playgym the most Staff could be more diligent in regards to children taking their socks of as they be looking and talking to these children yet not saying anything Plenty of parking Sometimes have to wait 5mins before they open door to enter

Experience the best of Yorkshire with Yeah! Days Out in Huddersfield. This curated experience offers a perfect blend of picturesque beauty, historic landmarks, and delectable cuisine all in one day. It's an ideal way to immerse yourself in the charm of Yorkshire while enjoying its diverse attractions.
Really good and reasonable priced for the kids to burn some energy off!

Customer service below zero. I tried to book my son’s birthday party. 15 minutes waiting on the phone, a woman picked up laughing, giggling with her colleagues while I tried to explain what I wanted. After the 5th “sorry I don’t understand you” I said goodbye to her. It was ridiculous and disappointing. I made the booking somewhere else.

Went to Kal spen valley leisure centre 27/8/25 with 6yr old daughter for an immerse session. Car park was full, apparently theres a sign hidden behind overgrown bushes directing to an overflow carpark? Only one pool open, only one of the inflatable runs was on and that didnt have the slide on. During school holidays this should be fully functioning for the kids. Felt we paid full price & only 50% of the advertised activities were open. We should of been made aware at booking point to give us choice, but wasn't. Daughter wanted to buy a toy afterwards, staff had no change. We used to come frequently & it was great fun, but latley the management of this is poor and we won't be returning.

ODEON Huddersfield is a modern cinema located next to the John Smith's Stadium, offering nine screens for 2-D and 3-D blockbusters. It's conveniently close to Huddersfield Central Hotel and offers family and student deals. However, some visitors feel that the seating and sound systems need upgrades compared to newer cinemas in the area. Despite this, many appreciate the ease of booking tickets and food online before enjoying a movie at ODEON Huddersfield.
We had a lovely experience today. Every member of staff was welcoming, smiling and they quickly arranged a refund for a ticket we didn't need. My daughter enjoyed her churros, the screen room was clean and comfy. Not too hot or cold, but a little loud for me.
Finelycutglass — Google review
Ok Mum once told me if you have nothing nice to say don't say anything at all,and I've tried to live by that moral compass ,But she also said don't tell fibs ,now its true this cinema isn't at the same very high spec that most other Odeons are but that's not To say you won't enjoy the experience and for me the "experience " is why I go,from the sweet smell of popcorn wafting through the corridors the confectionery stand offering grab bags of all your favourite sweets ,not to mention its still one of the only places where you can get a drink big enough to last the rest of your life but sitting back in a reasonably priced seat the childlike anticipation as it goes dark and quite then it's time for the adds arguably the best part of the entire stay theres 9 screens all fully air conditioned so your kept quite comfortable for the duration of your stay So the reason I gave it just 2 stars is simply because it hasn't had the same money spent on it like some of the other venues have ,the staff are just as friendly and just as helpful all in all a good afternoon/evening and value for money

Dirty seats. Dirty floors. Food and drink crusted onto the floors. Very unhygienic. Customer service is poor took nearly a month to respond to an email. Even then it was just a template generic response. I would travel out to somewhere a bit better next time.

Had a fab time today at the Odeon seeing the movie COMPANION. 👌🏻♥️ (Amazing movie!) 📽️ Though it's a very quiet cinema with not much custom at the mo, staff are always friendly and welcoming. ♥️ This place is retro and always takes me back to the cinema experience of the Nineties! 😎🍿
TABITHA K — Google review
Screen 3 seats were filthy in row H. All of them, and two seats broken. We moved three times to take the least grubby. It needs a proper clean, that level of filthy at a 1pm showing reflects poor housekeeping. When you read the standard replies on “we will ensure we meet consistent standards of cleanliness” then yes. The standards seem consistently poor though!
Alex A — Google review
Dirty seats, food from last showing everywhere, film not loud enough! Very rare do I leave bad reviews but it's worth paying more to go to a different cinema.. yes I skimped out and went here because it was cheap.. now I know why! Never again.. if could give 0 stars I would. Proper filthy would not recommend to anyone we rarely go to the cinema but when your 11 year old doesn't want to sit on a seat it kind of tells you a story.. and no we are not posh.. just clean!!
A P — Google review
Always great coming to the Cinema. So easy to book tickets and food online. Then just turn up, sit back and enjoy.
Daniel R — Google review
At £5 per ticket you can't go wrong! The seats are comfy- I prefer to be sat up so I'm not bothered about reclining chairs. The only glitch is parking. Nobody controls it so cars use it for the bar attached to the Town Ground. Not good. We missed the start of the film having to park away - offsite

Rescue Rooms is a popular 450-capacity live music venue and nightclub in Nottingham, known for hosting intimate live performances by renowned artists such as The Killers, Stormzy, and London Grammar. In addition to its music space, the venue features a stylish bar with comfortable Chesterfield-style seating and a welcoming patio. The establishment offers daily happy hour specials and hosts themed club nights like Pressure Tuesdays and Stealth v Rescued Saturdays, which are particularly popular among students.
I love music, but I don't necessarily go to see the big big bands play. I like discovering new bands that have a small following where it is easy to meet the band after. I have had some amazing experiences here, although with my anxiety I normally mix my word and make a fool of myself often but I have never felt uncomfortable doing so here. Again with my anxiety I don't like big crowds of people around me but with this venue I have been able to get in early enough to be at the front of the que. Unless the bands have VIP access which always go through first I would always find myself at the front. This helps so I only focus on the band in front and not the fact that there's a lot of people behind me. The staff are friendly, they have a selection of alcohol free drinks but they don't do food. Not even crisps but they don't mind if you nip to the shop and bring food into the patio area.

This is a great little venue within a bar next door to Rock City. It was a fair size inside for a good crowd, there is space for merchant sales and a fully stocked bar. There is an outdoor area for smokers and those wanting to relax outside which is really nicely set out too. I'm really looking forward to coming back next month for another gig!
Penny G — Google review
Great venue, clean and well organised, not overly priced bar and a good selection, and the acoustics are fantastic for a small sized venue

Been coming to Rescue Rooms since I was about 14 (30 now!) Always had a great time, and staff have always been friendly and helpful. After becoming disabled they've also been really good with access needs, and it was super easy to get an essential companion ticket sorted out. Most recently came on September 17th 2025 to see Crawlers and they were amazing too!

I haven't been to The Rescue Rooms for a few years until last week to see Scarlet Rebels Fantastic venue with great staff, a high stage so get a great view, lighting and sound spot on. The bar is fabulous too next to the live room and a good happy hour. Parking in Nottingham is pricey as all the street parking is only free after 10pm.

Fabulous venue. Central location near a plethora of places for pre-concert meals and drinks. We stayed at The Crowne Plaza just a very short walk away. Great acoustics with a real intimate feel. Heard every lyric for Crash Test Dummies. The balcony area was a life saver with a place to place beer and lean a bit! Good on-site bar with reasonable prices.

ODEON Newark is a modern cinema that offers the latest blockbusters in both 2-D and 3-D formats, with special deals for families and students. While the staff is friendly and welcoming, some visitors have noted that the lift is often out of order, making it less accessible. The seats could use some improvement as they are described as stiff, but there are rooms where armrests can be lifted for a more comfortable experience.
Fantastic cinema, on-site parking that is cheap, cost £1.90 after 6pm and that’s gives you till midnight. located next to a McDonald’s and Costa Coffee, a fraction of the price of The Lincoln Odeon for some reason and the staff were very friendly and even came in at one point and told people to get off their phones because of the screen glare, brilliant
Toby H — Google review
We (mum and 15yrs old) travelled to Newark. 50 minutes round trip. We wanted to watch Gladiator II which has a 15 rating. We were refused tickets as apparently my child doesn't look 15 and we didn't have his passport with us. I wonder who takes that with them to the cinema? We got offered to speak to the manager. She just refused us with the same. They need i.d. If it was my kid and his friends, I could understand, maybe. But as a parent, I find it disgusting. Especially there was no "we are sorry about the process" or something similar. Just glee on both of their faces. (Cashier girl and manager). We certainly won't be coming back.

Possibly could do with a refit but ok. Would be better if they had their own carpark. Paid parking right outside though

Stutterbug refused us even with ID. My friend showed his passport (the passport pic was from a year ago) and the man displayed in the picture below said it “wasn’t recent enough”. Bearing in mind he looks the exact same. And the film was dead pool, if it was a horror film I would understand but no. He displayed sexism by letting my 2 male friends in without asking for ID bit ID checked us.

Always a great place. Limited parking unfortunately for the location otherwise 5 stars. Staff are always helpful, toilets are clean.

Seats usually pretty uncomfortable and other cinema goers usually noisy and ignorant, and nobody checks in on the film so folks could be dancing in the isles for all the staff know Not knocking the staff though, odeon group stopped caring about the experience a long time ago and instead want to charge £15 for a horrible hotdog or something other nasty food, I think they wanted to charge about £50 for a novelty popcorn bucket and drink for captain America which even the staff laughed at, the whole chain is a bit of a joke Will only go here now if desperate otherwise I'll take the journey to Nottingham for showcase or Lincoln for everyman

Great venue for parties. The staff are friendly and run it well. The play area is great during the week too. Not to pricey when it comes to entry, food and drink. Had a party at here recently. The staff were amazing. The food went down well with the children. The adults seemed happy watching them play. The pass the parcel game at the end made the party. Everyone had a sweet. They all left tired after playing. This is a top venue for party's. I will definitely return. The price for food, drinks, party items is worth spending. Thanks to the staff at magical forest.

DO NOT BOOK BIRTHDAY PARTY i booked my daughters birthday here and the party in general was fun and enjoyed by all the children but honestly it was really poor for the price i paid. The food was more like snack finger foods. Elsa was just ridiculous if not for the laughs the adults had then £30 for this appearance was appalling as she just stood akwardly for about 15 minutes painted a few kids nails and left. Glitter hair spray was just slapped on. Snow machine was fun for the whole 5 minutes it was on before the floor and kids was soaked slippy and becoming dangerous, wasn't worth £5. There was no warning for the dj doing happy birthday which took away from the special moment. Pass the parcel was just a few sweets. The princess theme was pointless. Party bags were absolutely rubbish. What cost me £289 will of cost them less than £50 in total without a doubt. So to be blunt it was an absolute rip off and i would recommend taking your money elsewhere as the quality and set up was not nearly worth the money paid. The only pro was the friendly staff
Venus R — Google review
Had my Sons 2nd birthday party here privately hired for £180 as the play gym is nice and big enough for 20 kids. Staff was extremely rude to child's parent in front of guests. Tutted sighed and said they where too busy to serve food then threw a menu at her after she pointed out it was only afew minutes ago I had ordered a pannini and abit of toast isnt asking too much. Apparently they where sorry to be stressed and they had lots of washing up to do?! Not really customers fault? The cake came out and had been damaged and pieces of chocolate thrown back on top of it. I couldn't fix it up with my dirty fingers so had to accept it for what it was since they where stood around singing happy birthday. Parents who where denied ordering food, would snack on the left over kids party food which the staff seemed annoyed about. some of the vegetarian kids hadn't got their food as they all just picked up what they saw with it being so unorganised. The manager then was demanding payment in cash. I said I'd already paid online. Apparently she couldn't find it or didn't believe me so whilst I was wiping up orange juice off my child and the table I had to log in to the bank to show her my payment!! The mood was à little dim by then with parents discussing how rude staff was. They did some free bubbles and foam dancing the kids enjoyed. I was given a free return voucher which I wont be using. Wouldn't recommend using for a special celebration unless they sell this place to someone who can run it properly.

Our first visit to Planet Bounce and I was pleasantly surprised given some of the reviews that I’d read. The place was clean, well presented and the staff I encountered were helpful. My children enjoyed it but noted that ‘Rebound was better’. The only real issue was my youngest being punched by another child, but boys will be boys and the staff again were helpful and showed concern when I complained regarding this. It wasn’t particularly busy when we visited which was surprising given it was half term, so at peak times the experience may have been different.

I recently visited this wonderful place with my 6-year-old daughter and her friends, and we had an absolute blast! Booking tickets a day in advance was a smart move, especially considering the holiday crowds. I highly recommend opting for the one-hour booking option as it's not only cost-effective but also perfect considering how quickly kids get tired. The venue is impeccably clean and well-maintained, with lockers available for convenience and a cozy cafe for a quick refreshment break. Pro tip: pre-registering before arrival speeds up the check-in process, saving you valuable playtime. A definite must-visit for parents looking for a fun and safe environment for their little ones!

Arrived at 5:20pm on Monday 4th after checking the closing time, which was advertised as 7pm, only to be told that they’ve decided to close at 6pm instead. We brought 5 kids with us, all of whom were rightfully thoroughly disappointed. The last hour started at 5pm and we even requested for them to let the kids just have whatever time remained and we’ll pay full price but they refused that too. To top it all, we had to pay £4.50 for parking for absolutely nothing.

I had took my children there and they enjoyed it very much. Paid online & the price was cheaper than red kangaroo. It is slightly different. Free lockers is also a bonus. Downside: limited food or out of stock. Recommend buying a jug of juice instead of individual drinks.

Great place for kids. I needed something to keep my 5 year old daughter entertained during our time in Nottingham as statues and buildings weren't doing the trick. Silly me, I didn't realize we needed to book online ahead of time, but fortunately the gentleman at the front directed us to the website and we were able to book online without any issues. After that, my daughter had a blast jumping and climbing.

The venue was excellent, and the bands were fantastic. However, it was disappointing that they ran out of white wine, beer, and tonic by 8 PM. 5CORE HUDDERSFIELD is a popular venue for various events, including birthday parties and sports activities. The facility offers great amenities and excellent service, making it a top choice for gatherings and sports enthusiasts. While the indoor area may feel cold in winter, the provision of hot drinks ensures comfort. The pitches are well-maintained with some minor areas needing attention. Additionally, the venue hosts gymnastics classes that are enjoyed by participants.
My daughter loved having her party here! Highly recommend it to anyone! Looking forward to more future bookings and pitch hire! Now our number one spot for football! All staff are super nice and helpful! Children loved it and wasn’t stressful at all where most venues are when trying to entertain kids and set venue up! It was all ready and set up! Thank you!

My visit was after 6pm which was less busy enabling me to glide round the store at ease. As usual a magnificent variety of goods are available.

Recently held my 10 year old sons birthday party here. Great venue and the boys loved it. George and Martha couldn't do enough for us to ensure everything went well. Marta ran the party for us meaning we were free to organise and enjoy the day. Would highly recommend ⚽👍
Alex — Google review
Birthday parties are great if you like football. Try getting the kids off the pitch even for food.

Really rubbish experience. They double booked my boys football party and didn't contact me to let me know. I even phoned the day before the party to confirm I was attending and they didn't mention a thing. AVOID

Excellent attentive staff, especially the night shift teams! Staff always go out of their way in terms of hospitality and to make sure you enjoy your visit whilst remaining professional but friendly at the same time. Big shout out to Ryan, Mark, Sarah, Ann and the rest of the Cashino team! If staff or the store itself deserves recognition or a reward from head office then it’s definitely the Huddersfield store! Thank you.
