Fantastic food and service. Waiters were really friendly and helpful for all queries and requests for removing items from dishes etc. Overall the food is really interesting and unique. Not specifically one cuisine, but a real blend of flavours with real creativity. Food started out with some kind of cucumber shot accompanied by bread with some kind of mustard/mayo. The waiter did explain what it was, I just can't remember. Fascinating flavours. Chips were accompanied by rosemary flavour mayonaise and an apple dip. Again, amazing fusion of flavours. The pesto pasta was delicious and all the ingredients were so fresh and flavourful. The crispy chicken was absolutely amazing and complimented the dish perfectly. It was very filling in a good way. Can easily see why this is the top rated restaurant in MGB and I'd highly recommend it. Can't wait to go back and see what new dishes are available next time.

As an Argentinian I didn’t really feel identified with this restaurant, food was ok but I wouldn’t really say Argentinian, the meat was good but that was the only Argentinian thing. The fact that is called Mendoza (main region of Wine in Argentina) makes you think you will be able to try some Malbec wine which goes perfectly with a good cut of meat, but there was no Argentinian wines… the side dishes, entrees and desserts were mainly a mix of Spanish food and Argentinian meat. For me a disappointing experience, I was really enthusiastic for this dinner, but the restaurant didn’t meet my expectations at all.

I’ve had better Steak than this with lesser price. Didn’t liked the baked potato either. But the sauce was good for side dishes. The bread was OKAY. Environment was good. Nice place. But there was only one waiter for the whole restaurant, maybe there was more but i didn’t see anyone except for the one. So if i needed anything i had to go look fir him. After serving the food he forgot to give us any spoons or knives. So i had to go look for him again 😅. I hope they provide better service next time.

Great authentic Argentinian restaurant 👌 you don't think too much of it when you look at it from the outside but once inside, it's quite big, with rustic ambience. It was busy when we went for dinner, on a Monday night and a good thing we reserved. Service was not too fast, but friendly overall. The food was tasty, especially the spicy cheesy mushrooms and the Argentinian rump steak with a side of creamy garlicy spinach 😋 from the desserts I would recommend the creme brule.

I had the falafel bowl with nearly had 4 falafel I'm a nice plastic bowl with a little sauce over it . They always give you a salad dish before the meal (before everymeal) with red beans,sweet corn, salad with a black dressing on top but a white dressing in the middle. I wasn't sure if it was vegan so I just ate the beans and corn one the sides(when I asked they also didn't know and said they'd ask but never came back with a answer. The staff was nice though, the main dish took about 10-15mins to arrive and was delicious! I had"gemüse pfane with" Reis and...(forgot what the chips where called) But those "chips" are truly amazing I wish I haven't had ordered the rice cause the almond and rice mix just wasn't mine. The chips where the most delicious and we also got "fladen brot" with dip(only the red dip was vegan) but I Evan ended up asking for a second cause it was served crispy and warm. Back to the chips... I dipped emm into that red dip that everyone gets at the beginning and the gemüse pfane was served hot in a actuall pfan. At first I thought it was quite little for the price but it was super filling and I ended up letting it get packing it. Cause that and the chips where again soooo filling! We got our candle lit and napkins where folded were asteticly pleaseing (as the entire restaurant). First I was sceptic if I should eat here but it turned out to be a good desigion.

We loved the restaurant! Everything was superb, food and service. We both had steaks with white gravy, one with mushrooms and another with peppers, (you need to add salt and pepper to your taste). It came with potato wedges and some steamed greens and they also served hot bread with basil butter - very good! My husband had a mildly spicy squid, which was sadly a little bit overcooked and not as flavorful as my fish. I assume the overcooked part is because we ordered it as take out and so we did not eat it onside right away. Probably better to eat the squid in the restaurant next time. Staff was friendly, when I picked up the food. Ordering on their website was also simple and you can pay conveniently with PayPal when ordering. Just perfekt for people like me who never has cash on hand. If you want something asian to eat in MG this is probably the best place to go. I ordered the lemon chicken and a Red Mojito. I did find it funny that when I asked to take the remaining food with me (a good portion) the waiter brought me a container and asked me to do it myself. You can have delicious tacos, goat-cheese burger and several vegetarian options as well, including some bowels. The history of the building is interesting and if you are lucky one of the three owners will come to your table to share it with you. The brewery is basically build on the spring of the Gladbach, that gives the city its name Mönchengladbach. There is still a fountain in the building with fresh spring water of the Gladbach that was used for brewing some 50 years back. Furthermore there is a legend that the kickers from the local premier league soccer club “Borussia” we’re drinking the water from the spring within the building before important matches. Anyway worth a visit - I enjoyed a nice evening and dinner!

A 400-year old restaurant in old down town Mönchengladbach. Interestingly, it shares the same color to the St. Mariä Himmelfahrt (Gladbach) church right next to it, and was built at the same time back in 16th century. Food-wise, their coleslaw was very refreshing, other than that the suckling pork I had was overcooked a little bit.

My colleagues and I have eaten here a few times. the menu is traditional German the food is generally good and plentiful. the manager / owner is always very pleasant and speaks good English.the menu also has an English translation. there is a large patio area where you can sit with a beer and watch the world go by. would recommend this place either for a few beers or a meal

Visited for dinner and biers....Alt made at the brewery was delicious. Burger was well cooked, tasty and great value. Will definitely come back.

While the restaurant looked nice and fancy, we’ve been from one disappointment to another: 1. The menu says «  ask for the wine menu ». We ask, there is none. No Italian red wine for example (weird for an Italian restaurant), only two options, for local wine at 49€ a bottle (overpriced) 2. We’ve booked at 8:30pm and arrived on time, but we’ve been told we couldn’t get antipasti+pasta as kitchen will close soon and we can only get one dish 3. The spicy pasta aren’t spicy at all, even by my kids ‘ standards 4. At 9:30pm, we couldn’t get a desert as kitchen was closed Overall, disappointing

There were only a few people present at the restaurant and the employee informed me that they were all booked and had no room for an additional person. I came to this restaurant after a football match with my friends. Great location and great food. Especially Mr. Calger was very helpful with my order, because I am vegetarian. The room was clean hoever the bath tub emptys out when you enable the air bubels and it smells very bad, also the shower is more cold than warm water all the time. The breakfast was disappointing to pay 12€ and get almost nothing don't get breakfast here go somewhere else to get breakfast.

Food is not authentic Vietnamese foods. The mango salad is quite…bad. Too much onion and use the sirup mango to mix the salad. Bun bo hue is fine. But customer survice is too bad. I ask for less sugar Orange Peach Limongrass Tea. And what I had is like wasser with a bit sirup. No tea favor, no peach. When I complain, she just said that because I call less sugar so it’s like that.

Difficult to understand how this restaurant got so many good reviews. Maybe they had a bad day today but we waited 40+ minutes for our food. The udon noodles (A3) was bland and lacking flavour and we had to ask for chilli sauce just to give it some more taste. The A1 noodle dish was ok, vegetables were all raw (thick hard carrots) but maybe that was intentional. The atmosphere is nice, beautiful decorations. The way the food was presented was also quite aesthetic and well done (but it did not taste half as good as it looked unfortunately). Overall, just okay but not worth it. Paid €30 for a dinner for two with a main dish and tea.

One of the least welcoming places I’ve ever stayed. We booked a room for two people with separate beds for a business trip, but upon arrival, we were given a matrimonial bed—just two beds pushed together. There was an option to separate them, but the receptionist refused, claiming it would take two hours, so we had no choice but to sleep in the same bed. In the evening, there was no staff in the building, and on our second night, our key stopped working. The breakfast was very poor, with vegetables that had clearly been cut the day before and very little food overall. The room quality was also disappointing. I do not recommend this place. Avoid if you can.

Café Trotzdem was my favorite place when i was studying in Hochschule and i loved their Hahnchen Brust in Sahne Sauce Most importantly there friendly attitude towards customers After renovation it looks more kooler and attractive but i am forced to give 3 rating bcz of rude and arrogant attitude of two waitresses working on the terrace. They made us feel uncomfortable, and was annoyed when they had to repeat a question and most importantly scolding kids not to walk around the table. I must say i met the owner and staff downstairs, they were very friendly and cooperative. Food was still good, but not going there again

This is a hidden gem. From outside you cannot guess the great food you will find inside and the atmosphere is just awesome friendly staff and great food.

Taste was good for me, my husband was not very impressed and we will probably not come back - we were there twice and though maybe the 2nd time will be better. Atmosphere is nice and it looks a bit rustic, which we actually liked. Overall, I would recommend to give a try and check for yourself.

I got shown this place by a couple who's been going there for decades. The place is a gesamtkunstwerk: from the lighting to the background music to the way the food comes steaming out of the kitchen, Trotzdem is intoxicating. The waitress, who I was told has been there forever, was having to work hard to keep up with all her tables but she always had time to share a couple sweet words with my daughter. I'm looking forward to coming back.

All the times I visited Trotzdem, it has been a very good and fresh. The staff is nice and friendly. Prices are honest. Great place if your in Germany visiting the Niederkructen area. The Chicken Inn as it's more affectionately know to ex military personnel near Rhinedahlen. Little bit pricey but well worth it.
