Antica Trattoria La Torre is a renowned family-owned trattoria located in the central piazza of Castellina in Chianti. The restaurant offers traditional Tuscan cuisine with a local twist and has been a popular dining spot for decades. Guests can enjoy attentive service and a pleasant ambiance, with the option to reserve a spot on the square terrace for an al fresco dining experience.
We had lunch outside with a beautiful view over the square. The staff is very friendly and kind and made our experience really pleasant. We enjoyed some appetizers followed by pasta and friend artichokes. Food was very tasty.
Francesca T — Google review
A typical Italian trattoria, nothing exceptional and nothing extremely bad. We ordered gnocchi as a starter and they were amazing! Our main dish was grilled chicken and unfortunately it was unacceptable. A very small piece, almost no flesh and almost dried in the grill. The coffee semifreddo is a nice and fresh desert, but again nothing to die for.

Secluded spot for a warm, autentic tuscon cuisine with rustic town with a castle view. (CHIANTI) #Tagliolini truffle cream sauce # Pasta with beef dipped in boar sauce

Delicious food and excellent service! The staff was exceptional and went above and beyond to make our experience memorable. The meat was truly the best I’ve ever had, absolutely delicious!
Marta S — Google review
Excellent family owned trattoria with very nice ambience, attentive and polite service, offering traditional Tuscan food with a local twist. Reserve in advance to make sure you secure a spot on the square terrace, otherwise you might be seated inside (which was our case but we didn’t mind as the atmosphere inside was calmer. The staff made sure we had everything we needed. We felt like the restaurant toilets were overdue for a reconstruction.

5 stars I’ve been coming to Antica Trattoria La Torre since I was a child (almost half a century) – and it’s still magic. The food is unforgettable, honest, seasonal. The view over the piazza, timeless. But it’s the family who runs this great restaurant in its commanding and elegant building – generation after generation – that makes it truly special; what an intelligent, diligent, and talented family they are. A place that holds your heart as well as your appetite.

Trattoria La Torre has such friendly, hard working staff. The restaurant has a nice ambiance (feels very welcoming). The food is amazing, very tasty and refined. The tiramisu is honestly to die for! Would recommend and we would definitley come back!

Excellent restaurant and so tasty. Local food with quality products. Food tasted like it was made by nonna herself. So amazing. Big wine selection from Classico to Riservas. Friendly staff and helpful. Nice decorated and ambience as well.

Nestled amidst the picturesque Chianti hills, Osteria Di Fonterutoli offers a delightful fusion of Tuscany's flavors, aromas, and landscapes. The restaurant boasts a charming terrace set against the backdrop of the Ricasoli family's historic castle. With a commitment to honoring tradition and utilizing premium ingredients, this dining establishment is a go-to for those seeking authentic tastes overseen by Executive Chef Franco Sangiacomo.
We had a tasting menu after wine tasting on the winery. The menu includes 4 courses (I should say they the staff were soo flexible with some dishes as I had dietary restrictions ), and wine pairing . The food was amazing and service as well! We were surprised! This experience costs 100€ per person (including winery tour with 4 wines degustation). The diner was beyond expectation! Highly recommend this place.

We found this almost by choice and it was one of the best bits of luck we had on this holiday. We can honestly say that we have never had a better meal or met such a lovely, professional team as we did here. The food is amazing and the staff took time to explain all the dishes. Location is excellent and you even have a great view of Siena in the near distance. We will be back next year and I warmly recommend it.

One of the best meals I've ever had in Italy. The setting is stunning, the staff are attentive and friendly. The food is incredible. Perhaps it's slightly expensive if you are trying to eat in Italy on a budget but you really are getting a great experience for your money. If you're staying in the area, absolutely book a table to eat here.
Rob A — Google review
If you ever dine in this area you have to deal with hours and accessibility. This place had both and good food. We stopped by without a reservation and we were able to get a table for 2. Wine, food and service were great .

Excellent food and service....for starters rabbit salad, then pasta with wild boar ragout, mallard breast with potato and cabbage, and tiramisu...every dish paired with nice 🍷....osteria is surrounded with vineyards; so after a good meal, it is nice to take a stroll through vineyards and village.
Sandra B — Google review
We had a wonderful family dinner for four (mid-July). Highly recommended. The food was delicious, creative and clearly prepared by someone who loves what they do. The wine was spot on. The location has a great view and atmosphere. We arrived late in the afternoon for a stay at Castello di Fonterutoli Wine Resort. The kind staff managed to get us a reservation for dinner. The service at the Osteria was excellent. The staff served the table at the right moment, very well balanced, and had an incredible attention to detail. For example, together with a great knowledge of the courses, they picked up on the orders, and without asking, prepared a vegetarian complementary appetizer for one of us while the others were served something equally special. Based on the experience we could not resist an espresso and dessert, which did not disappoint.
A L — Google review
Very nice location and great wines. The Primi Piatti was also good. The Secondi could have been good, but we got it at first cold, and then overcooked. After we told it twice to the waitress we didn’t receive any reaction, so it hurts me a bit to have paid 150€ for a very good bottle of red wine, because the food was maximum average.
Vincent W — Google review
The food was marvelous - I had the ravioli stuffed with local game. They were really good with the kids and offered to make them pasta with butter which was not on the menu. Views are gorgeous. Make sure to save room for the "flower pot" tiramisu!

In this section, I am sharing information about the often overlooked gem of Castellina in Chianti: Le Tre Porte restaurant. The dining experience at this establishment is superb, with its stunning surroundings perfectly complementing the exquisite food. Located in the beautiful backdrop of Castellina, they offer an authentic menu featuring Tuscan dishes made from locally sourced ingredients. Noteworthy items include their truffle and parmesan gnocchi and papperdelle cinghiale pasta dish.
So far my favorite place for pizza on our trip to Tuscany! The staff was kind, the waiter could tell I liked spice & recommended a spicy olive oil, great prices & the pizza was DELICIOUS! The crust was 🤌🏼 Thank you so much for filling my belly! Not a crumb was left. 10/10 recommend!

Friendly, professional and everything was delicious.😋 We went to this restaurant every evening during the stay and every time was perfect! Noodles, pizza, steak, stew and dessert were great. The best restaurant we visited in this region. Enjoyed our time so much, thanks to the family and staffs. 🥰
Insun K — Google review
Good casual family restaurant (expect kids). The meat was good, the potatoes were OK. Tiramisu is really good and not traditional (you have to pour a shot of espresso, pretty cool), Pizza was good. The staff was friendly.
François L — Google review
We were placed at a children's table where my head almost bumped into the head of the neighboring table. My companion almost fell off the platform with her chair. The delivered pizza consisted only of "roasted flavors," reeked of soot, and had to be taken back by the waiter. The second pizza was also one-third burnt. At least the chef apologized and admitted his mistake. Don't they check what they serve to their guests beforehand? When I requested, "I want to pay," the waiter wanted to bring us an espresso at 9:00 PM. We barely managed to prevent this.
Daniel — Google review
The Gnocchi was delicious and so flavourful and cooked to perfection. Pizza was also very good and reasonably priced.

Il Vescovino restaurant in Panzano is a must-visit for anyone looking to savor authentic Tuscan cuisine. The menu boasts a variety of local favorites, including Tuscan salami, prosciutto, and homemade pastas like pici and tagliatelle with funghi. The warm and inviting atmosphere, attentive staff, and deliciously uncomplicated dishes make it a standout dining experience.
Il Vescovino quickly became our favorite restaurant in Panzano, and it's easy to see why. The combination of the incredible food and the breathtaking views brought tears to my eyes. Every dish we had was perfectly executed, from the fresh pasta to the succulent steak, and the truffle pasta was divine. The food was so flavorful and authentic that it felt like a true taste of Tuscany. But it wasn’t just the food that made this place special; the panoramic views of the rolling Tuscan hills made for an unforgettable dining experience. Dining outside with such a stunning backdrop elevated our meal to something magical. It’s impossible not to fall in love with this restaurant — it is simply a must-visit if you're ever in the area. The friendly service and peaceful atmosphere only added to the charm. We’ve attached a few photos to try and capture a bit of the magic we experienced, but words and pictures hardly do it justice.

We went here twice during our stay, the restaurant is stunning, the food is incredible and the service is personal and brilliant. Ran by a lovely family. Views at are great no matter what time of day! It’s a must visit with a great wine list.

Beautiful view from the terrace. Good to reserve a table, by the wall, facing the spectacular view. Our food was delicious and the wait staff courteous. A very nice experience!

WOW what an amazing authentic Tuscan dining experience! The entire family who runs this spot does an INCREDIBLE job with every thing that comes from their kitchen! The views from the patio are absolutely perfect! My fiancée and I were on our honeymoon, and it was one meal we will be talking about for months to come after our trip! Appetizers: the cheese plate with the most AMAZING pear jam Eggplant with raspberries and mint (so fresh) Entrees: Ravioli and truffle pasta Florentine steak! Sides: Potatoes and tomato with olive oil and basil! (Both just so yummy) The sweet owner was able to accommodate us coming a little earlier for our reservation, which we truly appreciated!! But the entire experience felt more like you were dining with the sweetest Tuscan Italian family, we felt so taken care of! The only sad part of our meal was that we just didn’t save enough room for dessert because all of the food was too amazing!!! Every dish was crafted with so much love and care, it’s so easy to taste it in their AMAZING and fresh food! Thank you so much Il Vescovino for a dinner to never forget ❤️❤️❤️ Love, The Weeks
Amy S — Google review
One of only few amazing meals we had during the two weeks in Tuscany. Fresh, clean and simple food, with a funky twist for some dishes. The patio is an exquisite experience on a nice day, the view is killer and pictures don’t do it justice. Its a must come back again for me.
Kate G — Google review
We stumbled on this little gem during our week in Panzano area. Came back three times-best meals by far, during our 3 week stay in Italy (which included 3 Michelin guide restaurants). In fact, one of our most memorable meals ever. Simple, pure, comfortable food-no gimmicks, no smoke and mirrors-overlooking an incredible Tuscan valley! Service was authentic; it’s obvious this is a hard-working, honest family venture. One of the highlights of our Italian adventure. ❤️
Shane K — Google review
One of the best restaurants I know in the heart of Panzano. The host couple is so caring, they serve you with heartfelt hospitality, they serve typical local dishes, they value natural ingredients, they give good tips, and they explain what they do and where the ingredients come from. They let you try different wines, including the best Bisteca Fiorentina I've ever tasted. You feel like home. I love this family, I'll be back...
Richard E — Google review
The food deserves 5 stars for the food simply because of the grilled pork dish. It simply may be the best grilled pork you may ever have. Slow cooked for a zillion hours using modern, i.e., non-traditional Italian technique, and then traditionally Tuscan style grilled with proper seasoning. Beyond that, there is little I can recommend. Go fer the grilled pork.

There are no words to describe how amazing our experience was in this place! First of all, it’s one of the best places in Tuscany, The staff was extremely friendly, The wine was 10/10 and the quality of food was amazing. I also want to mention that I forgot my bag and Everybody was willing to help, but especially Luca Who Made all of the arrangements so that my bag would safely reach Greece. I want to thank everyone so much, I am grateful that you were there to help me with my bad luck and I again want to thank Luca more than everyone! Definitely recommend this place!

Had the most amazing dinner an error with our booking with Chianti live but Andrea the man in charge/sommelier was amazing went above and beyond for us. He made our night delightful and memorable. Food was delicious and fabulous and so special every dish was on point. Also the service was impeccable. Thank you all for making our evening a fantastic experience. Everything was on point.

Absolutely breathtaking experience! The vineyard was stunning, and the entire visit was unforgettable. We enjoyed an amazing tour, delicious wine tastings, and an incredible dinner right in the rows of the vineyard—it felt like something out of a movie. Jakub was especially fantastic—his warm hospitality and knowledge made the tour even more special. He went out of his way to accommodate our travel needs and made sure we had the best time possible. I highly recommend this to everyone. A must-visit!

Amazing view from the restaurant while dinning. All the food we ordered was great and the recommended wine too. We had the best Tiramisu in Italy so far here, make sure to order one. The service is outstanding.

The food was just OK, i paid €24 for 6 morsels of seafood and 4 spoons of the stew that came with it; my Mom’s ‘chicken’ was more like a pigeon size. The wi e and desert was really good. The service was excellent along with the beautiful scenery.
Kate G — Google review
The atmosphere is wonderfull. The food was below standard. We had set up menu but honestly we expected more.

Please take time for lunch or dinner here during your visit in Tuscany. We returned after our first visit as a way to celebrate the end of our Tuscany vacation. Ask for Benjamin as your waiter and when he asks if you trust him, offer an unconditional “yes”. Benjamin’s wine recommendations were perfect pairings with our menu choices. The fillet was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The pastas tender and flavorful. If you like foie gras, order the chicken liver. Peanut butter is added for consistency and it was a great! The chef offers a very creative menu and we enjoyed our selections. Enjoy!!

Came here last year and although the menu has changed the service and quality definitely hasn’t! A perfect end to our trip to Castellina in Chianti. The food was refined and flavorful, and our server was incredibly attentive with great recommendations. A memorable dining experience we won’t forget
Tristan C — Google review
This place was excellent and what a nice change of cuisine as we had been having mostly pasta dishes throughout our Italy trip. We visited Albergaccio on our last night in Tuscany and the food was delicious, creative, and introduced different taste profiles from what we were used to throughout our Italy travels. We had ordered the cheese plate, duck breast, bistecca tomatoes, cod, ravioli, beef tagliata, panna cotta, and assortment of ice cream and sorbet. They also have a tasting menu option, but we decided to go a la carte. Owner and servers were attentive and very nice. This was probably one of our favorite meals in Italy. Would definitely recommend and worth the trip from our stay in Tavarnelle.

We stumbled upon this place on our way to our accommodation and were so thankful we did. The food, the service and the views were incredible. The lovely and funny host gave us recommendations of other restaurants and vineyards to try in the local area, she was also knowledgable about the wine and local ingredients. We have stared and saved it and will 100% be back!

Osteria Uscio & Bottega is a charming restaurant that offers an unforgettable dining experience. The place is so popular that getting a seat without a reservation can be quite challenging, but the effort is definitely worth it. The food served here is fantastic and varied, ranging from quality charcuterie, cheese, and olive oil to delicious pasta dishes like pici and gnocchi. Even vegetarians will find something to rave about on the menu.
I was staying in Borgo Sicelle for 5 nights on a cycling trip and had lunch and dinner here most days. The food we had was fantastic and varied every day, from great quality charcuterie, cheese and olive oil (most restaurants don't use quality oil), to ragu to grilled meats (steak, chicken, rabbit) to an incredible veggie lasagne. The salads are fresh and interesting...the house wine is really good quality. 👍 highly recommended.

Truly memorable and perfect. Comfortable warm setting, efficient and knowledgeable service. Food is expertly prepared but free of ego and fussiness. Top quality local wine if you ask. Amazing view and architecture. A very special place.

We ate lunch here as a family of four and it was one of the best meals we’ve had in Tuscany. The staff were very good, helpful and spoke amazing English (we are embarrassed that we need this but sadly we do!). Slightly different dishes than the norm, beautiful pasta - the lasagnetta was a highlight. Will definitely return.

We had a lovely dinner here, we had four different dishes and each single one was tasty, you really cannot go wrong ordering anything from the menu. Great atmosphere, we sat outside in the patio and saw the lovely sunset while we had dinner. Lovely lovely place, do not hesitate to come here.

This was my favorite dinner in Italy — we got the ‘strange’ caprese, bruschetta, pici, gnocchi, oven roasted vegetables, meatballs, and tiramisu — and WOW. This was the food I hoped and dreamed for when coming to Italy!! I’m a vegetarian, but after a couple glasses of Chianti Classico I tried my husband’s order of the meatballs and I might describe them as life changing. The service was incredible, and the atmosphere was just perfect. The restaurant lost power the last hour we were there, and they lit candles everywhere and carried on with service — if anything this added to the ambiance.

We had the asian themed dinner during our stay on the property. It was exquisite, and we had an awesome experience. We had our meal with the wine pairing, and everything was timed so well. Each course was very flavorful, and the selected wines were a perfect amount with wonderful compliments to the food. They had very unique dishes, my favorite was the duck, and the pre-dessert of fried acacia flowers with their own honey and a beautiful orange colored wine. Please make sure you make a reservation!

My wife and I had an amazing dinner for our anniversary here at Tavola di Guido! We have been eating at several Michelin starred restaurants during our trip and this one easily stands out as the best! The food was creative and tasted amazing! The views at the location are to die for. (Take some time and walk around the grounds and take pictures!) Highly recommend dinning here as Chef Guido is doing some amazing things with food. Their tasting menu changes through the week so you can even try it more than once. Only other thing I will mention is the stand out service. The staff is amazing and one standout was Francesca. You could tell she really cared about everything that was taking place and wanted to make sure we had a great dining experience! Don't hesitate if you are in the area or staying at the property. This is a culinary experience you don't want to miss.

We did the five course tasting menu with wine pairings for my husband’s birthday. Unfortunately, we were disappointed with the food. (The atmosphere and wait staff were lovely though. And the wine was delicious.. we loved the Syrah.) However, the food was mediocre. We started with a 64 degree egg and a strip a bacon, which was fine, but not memorable. The 2nd dish was spaghetti with a ragú sauce, which tasted and looked like something that was thrown together at the last minute. We then went into our 3rd dish, which was (again) pasta with (again) ground meat. To have two pasta dishes, both with ground meat, felt a little repetitive and thoughtless. The main course was a Parmesan crusted veal, which was tasty (my husband said some parts of his were chewy) but having just had three courses with meat, we were hoping for something else. The desserts were yummy - In fact, we loved the panna cotta. But overall, it felt like a very disconnected and thoughtless menu. And I don’t believe the price matched the food at all. Sadly, it was the least memorable and least tasty food that we had in Italy (and by far the most expensive).

Restaurant located in a very chic and quite hotel outside in the nature. The atmosphere was very calm and relaxing. Our dinner reservation was at 7 and I have to say that the food was very tasty, creative and true to its origins. The staff was also extremely friendly and attentive. A must go place when you re in Tuscany.

Caffè Le Logge Ristorante Pizzeria is a charming spot to kick off your day with an authentic Italian breakfast of cappuccino and cornetto. This restaurant offers a delightful dining experience throughout the day, serving wood-fired pizzas made with fresh local ingredients and high-quality mozzarella. The Spaghetti Bolognese is a must-try, featuring perfectly al dente pasta paired with rich ragu sauce.
We had pizza and pasta here several times during our four nights in Greve. The pizzas were delicious, the pasta excellent and even the person in our group who was gluten free enjoyed his meal. Aperol was great, a visit here is recommended by me!

We have eaten twice here and are going back on our last night. The pizza's are to die for! I had the tuna and onion,my husband had a diavola. Beautiful puffy base just enough topping and huge!. Last night we had the fillet of beef with wholegrain mustard wrapped in pastry. We had caponata and fries to accompany it. Absolutely delicious. The staff are attentive and smiley, food arrives quick and is hot.

Very cozy place that makes amazing food. The prices are fair. We ate there 2 times on our holiday and the first time was perfect, but the second time the waiter mixed some of our food up, and we ended up eating at different times, and she didn’t smile or wasn’t sorry or gave us a little compensation/dessert, but maybe she had a bad day🤷🏼‍♀️. Still an amazing place🤩

Great food. Came here twice for dinner. I had penne pasta with sausage and truffle first night, lasagne 2nd night. Day outside in the piazza. Really enjoyed the food. Came back on the Saturday when market was on for coffee at breakfast. Really lovely place, very busy. We sat inside this time. Could do with a fly zapper. Lots of flies around.

To our taste, the pizza was one of the best we ever had. It's not super thin but has some crust and a bit more dough, which we prefer. After all, it shouldn't be a tarte flambée. Everything else was great as well. We will come back!

Stopped for a quick lunch here today and walked away quite content with our meal. Service was friendly and good, and the menu provided quite a variety of options to choose from.

A very warm staff. Who arranged a table of seven for lunch. Everything we ordered was spot on. Highlights calzone, truffle pasta and Profiterole. Wooden fired pizza with scenic seating in the piazza. Recommended lunch stop.

Nestled in the charming village of Radda in Chianti, "Le forchette del chianti" is a delightful dining spot that captures the essence of Tuscan cuisine. This quaint restaurant offers an inviting atmosphere where you can savor delicious dishes crafted with fresh, local ingredients. The menu features regional specialties like burrata bruschetta and ribollita, alongside standout pasta options such as cacio e pepe and spaghetti.
Cacio e Pepe and spaghetti were two of the best dishes we’ve had in Italy. The patio is really laid back and quiet. Couldn’t recommend more - go if you’re in Radda

Cute place in the little village to have dinner at! Food is delicious and the wine list consists of local wines around the region. Highly recommend! Was very busy and the service is very good. Just remember to have patient, it’s not the fastest service but that’s okay because it’s in Italy, Tuscany! It’s next to a road though, so cars passing by was a little annoying but thankfully the traffic is not much.

Fabulous restaurant in a lovely town! Their dishes were delicious, flavorful, and well presented. Even when crowded, orders were served promptly by a friendly staff. Small seating area and few tables make reservations a must. Highly recommended

I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. The food was of poor quality and far from enjoyable. After leaving, I realized I had forgotten my sunglasses on the chair. I went back right away to look for them, but the staff refused to acknowledge that they had been left there, even though I clearly remember placing them on the chair. Their attitude showed a complete lack of responsibility and honesty. Unfortunately, my overall experience was entirely negative, and I cannot recommend this place.

Great food, from starters to desert, nice place, friendly but professional service, local products shop inside the restaurant
Martin F — Google review
Arrived to our agriturismo late, so the owner called here, "her friends restaurant," and got us a reservation. The service was great. The antipastos of burrata bruschetta and the cheese filled eggplant rolls were both so good. Finally got to try Ribollita, and it was awesome. The wine list was full of the wines of the region, hard to pick just one Chianti.
Matt S — Google review
I had a very unpleasant experience at this restaurant. I went there for lunch today, and the food was disappointing, tasteless and made with poor-quality ingredients. Even worse, I accidentally left my sunglasses on the chair and went back a few minutes later, but they were gone. The restaurant had already closed, and the lady who was cleaning said she hadn’t seen them, although I’m absolutely sure I left them there and didn’t stop anywhere else. Her attitude was rude and unhelpful, which made the whole experience even more disappointing. Sadly, I can’t recommend this place, neither for the food nor for the staff’s behavior.

Charming Restaurant in a picturesque town. This atmospheric restaurant in a truly charming town offers simply delicious food! The tiramisu is absolutely delightful, made traditionally and without unnecessary fuss. Both the pasta dishes and meats were incredibly flavorful. We visited as a large group of 14 people, and our table was perfectly prepared for our arrival. The service was exceptionally kind and courteous. We really appreciated the staff's relaxed and spontaneous approach, which added to the overall enjoyment. We highly recommend this place! It's definitely worth a visit to savor their dishes and, of course, that amazing tiramisu!

It's hard to pick a favorite restaurant when you visit Tuscany, but this one is a strong contender. We ended up eating there twice during our trip, once for lunch and once for dinner. The food is simply amazing, great local ingredients, thoughtfuly arranged, with generous portion sizes. The staff are beyond great, you get to know Italian hospitality at its very best. We will visit again for sure.

Looking to get off the beaten path in Chianti? For a small space with a slightly kitschy ambiance, I loved every second of this place. The owner has a perfect personality for my tastes: he serves the entire restaurant himself with generosity and just a hint of dry humour. The wine list is a fun blend of quality and affordability; the food was well-seasoned and priced fairly. I can’t wait to go back.

We had a wonderful meal here last night! The owner welcomed us like family and despite a language barrier we quickly were joking and laughing away. The food was delicious including a dough ball, cheese and prosciutto appetizer he recommended. The risotto was perfect and our kids loved their pasta. Very good value. We will be back, thanks!

👎🏽👎🏽 The waiter at this restaurant was a very disgruntled individual. Definitely should not be working in such a touristic environment. I witnessed him turn away several non Italian speaking tourists saying the place was full, but welcomed several locals to dine at the vacant tables,( that were not reserved) . We finished a glass of wine before our entree’s arrived, not once did he ask if we wanted anything else to drink. Then he practically threw my pasta on the table. The food was average at best.If you are looking for a quality night out in Castellina I would try somewhere else. This waiter was not only rude he was very disrespectful 👎🏽👎🏽

Fantastic wine hotel owned by the Zingarelli family and belonging to the Rocca delle macie vineyard. This is in the middle of the Chianti area and with countless excursion possibilities. We stayed here for a week and already want to return. Smiling and exellent service at the reception, fantastic food in the restaurant, lovely pool area, perfect silence, incredible view and the apartments are large and perfectly rustically furnished. The place is recommended for anyone who wants to enjoy a comfortable and quiet atmosphere in the middle of a fantastic wine region. The service is 10/10. The place is highly recommended.

The most amazing location in the heart of Tuscany. At Relais Riserva di Fizzano you are guaranteed breathtaking views and service that is truly 10/10. Breakfast covers most needs, and the dinner at the restaurant is nothing short of outstanding – it honestly doesn’t get better than this. The room was in classic, older Italian style and perfectly fine. Unfortunately, the bed in our room (no. 10 or 11) was terrible – completely collapsed springs and impossible to sleep on, so I had to spend half the nights on the sofa instead. This really needs to be improved. However we are for sure coming back.

A wonderful experience for my entire family at Relais Riserva di Fizzano. The view, the food, the wine, the relaxation and of course, the staff made it all come together. It doesn’t get any better than this for the “out in the Tuscan countryside” experience. Grazie mille for your hospitality! The Mays and Sorensen Families

Wonderfully located on top of a hill with perfect sundset views framed by the famous hills of the Chianti region, this gem of an apartment hotel was our base for a week in summer. We enjoyed the exceptional hospitality of the staff, especially Ilaria, the nice pool and the good food in the adjacent restaurant. At the reception, they helped us with everything from little support with the apartment to recommendations for family activities and restaurants, all while kids were playing with the toys provided by the hotel. It’s perfect for day trips to nearby Castellina in Chianti (10 mins), Siena (25 mins), or any of the numerous nice vineyards. The rooms are spacious and very good value for money. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will come back.

Solociccia is a renowned trattoria that offers a fixed price menu featuring an array of meat delicacies. It is part of Dario Cecchini's collection of eateries, which includes Officina della Bistecca and Mac Dario. The latter serves a substantial patty of Tuscan beef without the bun, accompanied by roasted potatoes with sage and rosemary.
We had no reservation, rolled up to the butcher shop at 12:30 and asked if they had any extra spots at either of his restaurants. Ended up here and loved it! Totally worth the price. Prix fix menu. Come with an empty stomach and don’t fill up on the bread or veggies before the meat arrives!

Absolutely deserves the hype. Outstanding meal and experience.
Paul D — Google review
Normally you need to book months in advance to get into this very popular meat loving restaurant. It is famous all over Italy. We were lucky to get a spot for two on the same day. It is a degustation meal and comes with unlimited water, Chianti wine, bread, and second serves of meat. Their philosophy is to eat all the cow and that they do. You get plates from the muzzle to the butt. It finished with a homemade local cake, coffee and grappa. For €40 per person. You are put on communal table which just makes the experience better, as you meet people from all over the world.
Natasha G — Google review
Of course nowadays this butcher's shop and restaurant are so famous that it is impossible to keep the cosy atmosphere of the old days completely unchanged. And yet: at a very reasonable price and with friendly service they manage to still convey the feeling of being at a neighbour's barbecue party. And what a feast it is! The dishes keep coming and so does the wine until no one can eat anything anymore. Very fresh and well cooked meats and raw vegetables served with Chianti wine. A dream. Reserve at least a week in advance, arrive on time and be amazed.
Titus N — Google review
We had no real idea of the celebrity status of the owner, so had no expectations or bias coming in. I enjoy the concept of making tasty food out of lesser used cuts and it was was a really enjoyable experience overall. The butcher himself showed up a couple times and was really friendly and willing to take photos with fans. I have to say however, that the staff were really unhelpful during our arrival and departure. In the email we were instructed to arrive early to enjoy an aperitif but they didn't even inform us of where to get this, we had to ask our table-mates. When we wanted to pay, the staff were more keen to chat amongst themselves and let us stand there. During the lunch, the staff just seemed to want to get the job over and done with and almost never told us what it was that they were serving us. The food itself was great, though I didn't find it to be exceptional. The wine was delicious as was expected for being in the heart of Chianti. As a couple, you're seated with others and luckily our table-mates were fun and interesting people, otherwise the atmosphere would have been poor. I would still say it was worth the experience, though I wouldn't eat there again.
Adam P — Google review
Solociccia was better then I expected. The whole experience, and the amount of food; I can assure you’re completely full if you eat everything. The food even tastes amazing! Also, we met some people from the other side of the world! We actually ordered the vegetarian menu at the reservation, but got the full meat menu. I don’t know what happened, but luckily for us it was not a problem at all. The only reason I won’t recommend you to eat here, is if you don’t like meat. You won’t get any plants (only some veggies on the side). I also love that you get free refills of the water and (non pasteurized) wine. The only thing I didn’t like about my experience, was that some Americans kept talking way too loud.
Jesse — Google review
I was too busy eating the delicious meats here to take any good photos, so that should say something! Dario is Dario so the food is amazing, and well priced despite being a celebrity chef restaurant. I was only disappointed that he came around to talk to every table besides ours. Other than that, the only thing I can criticize is the atmosphere; it is a modern vibe yes, but feels cold and impersonal. Carne Diem!

We came here because our daughter and son-in-law visited a few years back. Our hostess was wonderful. She explained a lot about the wine and the region. We also tasted some gin that they provided. It too was excellent. Needless to say, we bought enough wine and gin to last our Florence visit. They also had a friendly kitty which stole our hearts.

We had lunch here and left with mixed feelings. The vibe was great and the staff was super friendly. The prosciutto with melon was fresh and delicious, and the wild boar pappardelle was tasty too. But the truffle tortelli was kind of bland and disappointing. Overall, good service and a nice place, but the food was a bit hit or miss.

Our party was three persons. We enjoyed an appetizer of meats, cheeses some with a jam (delicious) crostinis and all were very good. Next came our entrees: wild boar stew with vegetables and mashed potatoes, guinea hen, roasted to perfection with grilled vegetables as a side, third entree was Pici with a creamy ragu. The service was excellent and friendly. We enjoyed two different bottles of wine 🍷 which were reasonably priced; one was Bolgheri and the other was Syrah. We had a wonderfully tasty dark chocolate mini soufflé trio which we all ate so quickly, I didn’t get a pic! The restaurant is very comfortable, serving the typical Tuscan style dishes. We definitely recommend and we will return next year!!

They called the chef who prepared it for us even though it was not on their menu. The food was great, the restaurant had a very rustic and 'local' atmosphere. Staff was very helpful, nice and accommodating to the nut and peanut allergy of my girlfriend.

Best meal of the holiday! We were a party of 6 + 1 piccoloino staying down the road on the Lilliano estate and had tried a few nights to get a reservation on recommendation of our hosts. We finally made it on Friday night and had an excellent family meal sitting outside. Everyone enjoyed all their food choices (primi, secondi & desserts). The staff were excellent providing friendly service and were brilliant with baby Florence ❤️ Grazie Mille

We had an outstanding meal at the Osteria today. The ambiance in the restaurant was inviting and cozy, the food options were intriguing, we had a hard time choosing, all homemade daily, including the bread and desserts. The wine recommended by the staff was delicious and the service was personal and attentive. We had some of the best Italian food we ever ate and will definitely return the next time we’re in the area.

After trying so many extraordinary pastas in Florence and Tuscany region, the pasta here was underwhelming in taste and felt overpriced for what you get. The sauce was lacking depth in flavours and didn’t feel it was made from scratch.

After seeing all the reviews we came here for dinner and wine. The food disappointed. It was the saddest risotto of my life- super watery and tasted like a rice porridge. My husbands pasta looked like it was reheated in a microwave. At the end I told the waitress that my risotto was not good, she saw that my plate was pretty much untouched, but they didn’t do anything (in fairness i guess I didn’t make any further demands). I have to add that the overall staff was sweet, and they know their wine. But not worth 80 euro for 2 ppl. Taught me once again to be careful with google and trip advisor’s ratings. At least in Italy.

Antico Ristorante Pestello, located in Castellina in Chianti, Italy, is a fantastic dining establishment that offers an exquisite culinary experience. Renowned for its delectable pasta dishes and succulent meats, this restaurant leaves diners pleasantly satisfied. The wine list may not be extensive but features excellent selections from local vineyards. Moreover, the prices are reasonable considering the quality of food and service provided.
We had a great meal and service experience at Antico Ristorante Pestello. The restaurant is outside of town and feels very authentic. Our girls really enjoyed the Bistecca alla Fiorentina. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you're driving through the Chianti area.

Excellent Tuscan food in a lovely setting with friendly service. Sat down for lunch with two babies and felt very welcomed and relaxed. Steak was amazingly well cooked, the local way. Pici cacio e pepe was also wonderful. Surprisingly good deserts.

I will give the service 7 start if possible. The service made our visit super pleasant. We arrive late, and we were ready for a typical Italian bad experience, specially since arriving late; but no, it was the opposite. Super warm welcome. The waiter was super attentive, and playful with our baby, which was super nice. The food was one of the best we had in the region. Speciality the steak. Until this point I was saying: “Italians don’t know how to cook steak” and this restaurant proof me wrong. Excellent quality and taste. The pastas were amazing, and a nice portion, so if you are an American, you can easily have a Primi plate and a Secondi 😂

John Q — Google review
We visit this authentic restaurant every time we spend our holiday in Tuscany. For the first time we tried as starter the Antipasti Pestello and then the Bistecca alla Fiorentina. As expected, both of the dishes were very tasteful, the steak was definitely one of the best steaks we’ve ever tried, if not the best. It was done as it supposed to be, medium rare, grilled on wood, I think it doesn’t need anymore explanation 😃. Last time we were there, we decided to give a try to the homemade pasta (tagliatelle with tuscan ragu & pici al ragu di Cinta Senese) and it was something different than we expected. It was not the typical pasta you would expect in a restaurant, it really tasted like home, just like when you visit your grandma and she cooks you something delicious, full of taste, full of love. Also very good Chianti vine, but the best part of this restaurant is probably the waiter himself. He makes sure that you feel welcomed and also entertained, in my opinion every restaurant needs a man like him. Definitely coming back next time as well.

Memorable dinner and wonderful pasta! We were looking for home cooked Tuscany food and were recommended here from our hotel. Our host (Luca?) was very friendly and kept us in good company. Overall food was great and the T-bone steak was good too, but oh boy the highlight of our meal was pasta (I don't remember exact name but pork based sauce with pici pasta I think) - we had tried a couple other highly rated places in Florence and was disappointed and this was the home-made style pasta that stood well apart from other experiences we had. We'll come back for the pasta here!

Nestled in the heart of Salento County, Osteria Vecchia Cantina is a delightful culinary treasure that promises an unforgettable dining experience. During my visit, I opted for the chef's daily fresh pasta specials and a succulent dish featuring cooked cow meat. As someone who loves uncovering local food gems, I was thrilled to start with their arancini—crispy yet light—and pair it with a refreshing local beer that boasted innovative flavors.
It was amazing dinner here, worth coming from Gallipoli. Pizza was one of the best ever, the same with all dishes we had that evening. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive without being intrusive – you could tell they truly cared about creating a great experience. l. If you’re looking for amazing Italian vibes and genuinely kind service, this place is an absolute gem. Highly recommended! 🇮🇹🍷🍝

We went for dinner for two. For starter arancino which was good, not very greasy. For drink my partner ordered local beer, which was light and fresh and for myself glass of primitivo, smooth and full bodied. Pasta with sausage was good balanced, sweet and salty, however pasta with spada fish was pretty flat - could be better. Unfortunately, we were disappointed with the main course. We ask for medium rare, but received well done, even overcooked. Waiter didn’t came to check with us after serving how’s the dish, so there was not a chance to ask to reserve the dish. Conclusion: the place is nice, food average, price not going over, but not sure if we will visit this place again

A NICE PEARL IN SALENTO COUNTY: We visited the Cantina in an exploratory mode, trusting the chef with the daily fresh pasta dishes and a second dish of cooked cow meat. As an Apulian, I’m always on the verge of finding hidden gems of local food. To start, the selection of beer is good. The local beer I tried was tasty, fresh and innovative in flavor. I truly enjoyed the delicacy of the drink which surprisingly provided a nice start for the meal. We kicked with arancini aperitif. While a basic street food in puglia, both of them were not over fried, perfectly coordinated in ingredients and truly a joy to tase. Another good bullet in the restaurant favor. Fresh pasta dished: I loved both. Ingredients were fresh, flavorful and balanced with each pasta type, providing a nice designed ecosystem of Components. The dinner was going on fire. Then the meat. We asked for a medium cooking, but the meat landed kinda well cooked. As a matter of fact, multiple slices ended up being burned, and the tasting suffered from that “carbon” feeling typical of meat which spent too much time on the grill. Still, the overall experience was a good one, price were honest (66 euros in two - And in a Salento trend of overpricing this is a medal in favor of the owners), and I left being curious of trying also other dishes. A place to be back!!

We didn't plan to stop here for lunch, but I'm so glad we did! An incredible view from the panoramic dining room over the rolling hills and vineyards make a perfect backdrop for local wine and food. The food was good, especially the Cianghiale. However, portions are relatively small so be sure to order a side. Drinks are very fairly priced with a beer costing 3€ and a good bottle of wine only 18€!! While the beer was a little warm, the wine was awesome. The wine price alone is a reason to revisit. The service was a little slow but overall good. There is also a great view and a nice and cozy atmosphere. I can recommend this restaurant and would visit again!

Service was disappointing. We ate in the evening, and although the food was pleasant the service overshadowed it. On a not overly busy evening, we were ignored throughout the meal, waiting over 20 minutes to have our starter plates cleared by a waiter who actively ignored our looks. The younger and older waiters were both helpful, however the evening was ruined by the other. Purtroppo il servizio è stato deludente. Siamo stati ignorati per più di venti minuti, e il cameriere ha reso l’esperienza davvero spiacevole. Anche se il cibo era ok, non lo consiglio.

My wife booked a wine tasting here for her birthday while we were visiting from the US. Wonderful experience, friendly & accommodating staff, great food and wine. Our presenter was knowledgeable and courteous to our MANY questions. We'd highly recommend visiting here.

Fantastic dining experience. It's easy for restaurants to get away with merely mediocre food and service in isolated/touristy regions, but osteria alla piazza transcended the tourist trap routine. It has beautiful views from both its outdoor patio and indoor dining room of the rolling tuscany hills before you. The staff was very friendly and prompt with water, wine and food service. The antipasti of aubergine flan with fresh truffles was delicious and smooth. Maybe a little heavy on the shaved truffles. The baked pear with pancetta was refreshing and also very tasty. Both were well portioned for a starter size. The primi of risotto with fresh asparagus and bacon was amongst the best dishes I've had in Italy. The asparagus was clearly fresh and well prepared, while the risotto itself was rich and hearty without being heavy. The paparadelle with wild boar was of typical Tuscan cuisine and well made. Pasta noodles were not soggy nor undercooked and the boar meat flavoured wonderfully. For the secondi we split a platter of deep fried meats and vegetables and it was well seasoned, not greasy but still crunchy with a wonderful mix of vegetables. The wine list was good and they had desserts that we were too full to sample. Price was extremely reasonable for the quality of the food, location and service.
Sisi G — Google review
Overall disappointing. A nice location with okay food but with very disappointing service for what was not a cheap meal. We went for lunch and considering the other stunning restaurants in the area we visited, I would take your custom elsewhere. To pick up on one part of the poor service: very difficult to get the attention of a waiter, after getting the menus we waited for 20 minutes without a visit to the table, when we finally ordered we got a round of aperitifs, 20 minutes go by and our starters arrive (no aperitifs yet), enquire as to where they are, told they are on their way. Another 10 minutes, enquire again, and clearly the order has been forgotten as they have no idea about it (understandable, I appreciate mistakes happen) - but no apology/acknowledgement just that it's coming a few more minutes. It doesn't take 30 minutes to make a campari soda and I would have thought a restaurant should understand an aperitif comes before (at least with) the food. Starters were nice, including the cevice and buratta - but the pasta was really average, we had the ragu, truffle and mushroom. Having been to this part of tuscany a few times before, this was sadly our least enjoyable restaurant experience! Don't waste your time, so many other glorious places.

We were looking for a cozy place for a quick late evening dinner. What a great place with very friendly staff and great food. We were seated next to the counter where the pizzas were being made and cooked in a real wood fired oven. The gentleman making the pizzas answered questions (in broken English) and showed us a few things about making the dough. A great experience that was made even better by the very friendly staff.
Chris G — Google review
The staff were friendly and attentive, and it's a nice touch that they make their own pizza dough—you might even catch them in the act. The pasta dishes were a decent size, and the pici with pepper was ok with a good amount of pepper. The pizza base was good, but unfortunately, the dishes we chose were mostly bland and didn't impress. I also find it frustrating when a restaurant doesn't have a visible drink or dessert menu with prices. It's much more efficient and honest for customers to know exactly what they have to drink and how much they'll be paying at the end

I ordered the fusilli with artichoke, saffron, and crispy bacon. Let me explain to you the experience of this dish: Each bite is heaven. The shape of the pasta holds the delicious sauce wonderfully, the artichoke is cooked perfectly, the bacon is delightfully crispy and then melts in your mouth; and to top it off, the saffron uplifts the dish to a god-like level. This is monstrously delicious to be honest with you. My life is changed. I see the world differently. And it was €14. God bless

A beautiful evening at Ristorante Nuvolari! The service was very friendly and attentive. The value for money was okay – not cheap, but still acceptable considering the location and quality. We enjoyed a stunning sunset overlooking the hills of Tuscany – truly unforgettable. We had a wonderful Chianti Classico to drink, which paired perfectly with our meal. The food was excellent: the Pici Cacio e Pepe were deliciously creamy and well-seasoned, the Pappardelle tender and full of flavor. The highlight was the T-bone steak – perfectly grilled and cooked to perfection. We had it with a fresh mixed salad and flavorful Fagiolo al Fiasco – a true taste of Tuscany. The only downside were a few mosquitoes, probably because we were seated right next to a bush – but it didn’t take away from the overall experience. We’d love to come back – highly recommended!

Not only does it offer incredibly delicious cuisine, but its attentive and courteous staff provide exceptional service. The picturesque setting, featuring a charming pond and an enchanting light show, adds to the restaurant's overall appeal. Highly recommended for anyone looking to indulge in an unforgettable dining experience, this establishment should never go without guests on any given evening.
EXCELLENT This is one of the best Ristorante I've been so far in all my travels to Italy. Not only that the food was incredibly delicious, the staff was so super friendly on polite. The location with the small pond and the light show around the area is so lovely. I totally recommend to go there and this restaurant should not experience a single evening without a guest.

We were driving around Tuscany and when hungry, decided to get a bite BUT most restaurants are closed for siesta during the day. We were SO LUCKY and are VERY THANKFUL for this place. The kitchen was actually closed but the stuff suggested they could cook some pasta for us - BEST TRUFFLES PASTA IN THE WORLD and the other pastas were yummy as well. Make sure you eat some pasta here!!!

Lovely place, informal atmosphere, nice food, friendly staff. Update: The last visit we got the Vallechiara antipasti and this was massively overpriced, and probably not with all the ingredients the menu said it would be. Very disappointing.

La Chiantina bar bistrò (Tre PORTE) nuova sede is a charming restaurant with a cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. Visitors have raved about the incredibly fresh mista salads and the mouthwatering margarita pizza, which is considered one of the best in Italy. The buffalo mozzarella on the pizza is described as great and non-greasy, complemented by a light and flavorful sauce, and airy crust.
It's an amazing restaurant, great dishes, super tasty, we were on our way from Siena to Reggelo when we saw this restaurant and decided to stop. Friendly staff, great view, and fantastic food. We took Bruchetta and potato & onion pie for first dish (amazing), then Ravioli (veg.) and Ossobuco for main dish (you must try it, delicious) and modern Tiramisu for desert, see pics...thank you so much for a great dinner.

Great food, nice service...a lovely experience for us in central Tuscany. Bruschetta, Osobucco and Pici Cacio e Pepe... excellent!👌🏻🔝

We went there about an hour before closing and they seemed fine with it. After we were showed to some table they completely ignored us for 10-15 minutes and we decided to leave. I understand that they were closing soon, but they could’ve just tell us and not waste our time.
Georgi P — Google review
Stopped off for an off-hour lunch. They appeared to be closed but the owner sat us anyway. All we had were two mista salads and a margarita pizza. The salads were incredibly fresh tasting as was the margarita pizza. This was probably the best margarita pizza I've had anywhere in Italy, ever. The sauce was so light and flavorful , the buffalo mozzarella was great and non-greasy, and the crust was light and airy. Additionally, the restaurant is very cute inside. I would highly recommend this place if you are looking for pizza. I would imagine the rest of the food is very good as well, we just only had the pizza and salad.

We stumbled upon this place by accident trying to get to Castello Gargonza. The service was amazing and very accommodating, and our server spoke English and we had an English menu which was very nice with us not having to use Google Translate 😆. The food was absolutely amazing with all 4 of us loving our meals.

Great restaurant, good level of English spoken, English menus with allergens listed and cater for celiac. The food is good, service is quick and friendly, nice atmosphere. Could not ask for more only pity is we found it on the last night of our stay.

The couple that own this place were lovely! We saw this place on the way to our air bnb and made note to stop later, and I am so glad we did! The pizza was so good, and very well priced! We wanted to wine taste and unfortunately at this time it wasn't available, however we were still able to try different wines! The food and the service was beyond Wonderful! Would go back, and recommend others to go as well!

Macelleria Stiaccini, a lesser-known butcher shop in Chianti, deserves recognition despite being overshadowed by another popular establishment. This butcher/restaurant offers an exceptional dining experience with their tender and flavorful Bistecca (limousine). The friendly staff provides excellent service, and their delectable side dishes, particularly the potatoes, are highly recommended.
This is our local butcher in Castellina in Chianti. I love to go there with my family and take friends. It has my family wines of La Tenuta di Lilliano and have amazing meats to eat. The tartare is wonderful and you can also pick your preferred cut of meet and they will cook it for you. Riccardo and his family a wonderful people

12⭐️’s…..seriously, there is another well known butcher shop in Chianti that gets all the attention, however, this butcher/restaurant deserves just as much credit! The Bistecca (limousine) was the tenderest, most delicious piece of meat that I have ever had! The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating, and their accompanying sides were delicious also (potatoes are a must). One thing would be to make their stunning hamburger Pattie’s into a burger for the kids….. If you’re in the area please add this to your itinerary…..even if your not, detour, and try something you can only get in this part of the world! My only disappointment is that I can’t go to my local butcher and pick up a 2kg 4 finger wide steak every night!

Amazing place. Local butcher where you pick your cut (we chose bistecca of course) and they cook for you. Very affordable price, super casual, the wine is served in water glasses :). Friendly vibe.

It was our first time to eat directly at a butcher shop. The couple who run it were really nice and friendly. They have no menu or something in this place. We can still select the range of meat 🍖 that they have and they will directly grill it for us. Then there are some traditional food that you can select as a Buffett. Food was amazing. The place was small, cute and Cosy. We will highly recommend this amazing place for good snack or for a big nice local dinner.

Restaurant
Il Cantuccio Wine Bar in Castellina is an extraordinary establishment where the owner, Pasquale, brings his expertise from managing Michelin star restaurants in England. This remarkable place offers incredible cocktails, delectable cuisine, and an impressive wine selection in their cellar. The service is impeccable and the passion put into this venture is evident. Additionally, there is a delightful ice cream shop attached to the bar.
From the moment we wandered into this adorable town, dropped off by accident, it seemed it must have been fate. We sat down at a table, luggage and all and immediately were offered a space to stow our bags so we could relax and figure out where we were supposed to be. We ordered some food, bruscetta to start and it was one of the best we had in our whole vacation. I had a Ceasar salad, and my boyfriend had the tagliatelle with beef ragu and cheesecake for desert. Our food was all excellent. I asked it it was okay if I got a gelato from the shop across the street to bring to the table. Turns out, that shop is there's as well, so no problem. I had Gelato in probably 6 towns, and this was by far the creamiest and best. Back to the service, as soon as they say we were somewhat lost, with no car, on our way to a farmhouse nearby, they offered us assistance in getting us there and any other help we might need during our stay. They were so kind, we are forever grateful to Aleandro and Pasquale. Truly the epitome of good humans.

During our stay in Castellina we had dinner at Il Cantuccio three times, which really says it all. The food was absolutely delicious every single time, with great value for money. The La Pietra wine quickly became our favorite 🍷. What made it extra special was the incredibly kind staff: they recognized us and remembered our wishes each visit, which made us feel so welcome. We’ll be coming back here again and again! ❤️‍🔥

We have visited the restaurant twice on our vacation. They serve great food with a good menu extended with great daily specials. The atmosphere is great thx to the maitre d and the staff. The gelateria across the restaurant makes the experience complete. Thx good friends.

Our favorite restaurant in Castellina! After spending 4 weeks in Castellina area and dining in many of the restaurants in Chianti, I can honestly say that this one is a winner! We loved everything from the food to the atmosphere. Whatever you see on the menu will be homemade, fresh and delicious , oh their bread and pizza is amazing too! The owners are out there serving tables and taking orders making sure everyone is being helped. Restaurant is open all day doesn’t close after lunch and if you want gelato, it’s right across the street. The place is very authentic and Pasquale (one of the owners) makes it even more special by making you feel right at home. He is very knowledgeable about the wine of the region and whatever he recommended we enjoyed and even shipped some boxes home, which you can purchase in the enoteca right across the street that he is also a part of. But the best part was my birthday celebration which my husband asked him to organize for me as a surprise. Pasquale managed to get an exquisite bouquet of flowers that was brought in from sienna, not to mention Beautiful table, setting, 330champagne, Amazing food, including porcini mushrooms, ossobucco, lamb and all different kinds of pasta, plus ice cream cake! Thank you Pasquale and Francesco for a memorable experience! See you next year!❤️

We were a group of 6 and did not have a reservation on a Saturday night. The restaurant was busy but the maître d did not hesitate to accommodate us and he quickly seated us. The atmosphere was happy and inviting. The wine list extensive and the food delicious and authentic to the region. The service was outstanding and the servers went out of their way to make sure every need was met. I would highly recommend Il Cantuccio if you are near Castellina in Chianti. You will not be disappointed.

A perfect blend of great food, welcoming and friendly wait staff. My wife and I agreed we would not go to the same place twice but we ended up the second time on our last night as we wanted to make sure it was excellent. Madelina was such a great server and made sure we had everything we needed. The farmers salad was delicious, the pasta was fresh and a good size. I treated myself to the lamb and roasted potato’s my last night and was happy I did! Superb!! Hope to come back some day! Grazie!!

If you’re looking for an authentic taste of Tuscany, this restaurant in Castellina in Chianti is an absolute must! From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed with warm hospitality that makes you feel like family. The menu is a celebration of traditional Tuscan cuisine, with every dish prepared using fresh, high-quality local ingredients. The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the Bistecca alla Fiorentina – perfectly grilled, incredibly tender, and bursting with flavor. It was, without a doubt, one of the best I’ve ever had. The homemade pasta, regional wines, and delicious desserts completed an unforgettable meal. Set in the heart of the Chianti hills, the atmosphere is charming and relaxed, with breathtaking views that make the experience even more special. Whether you’re a local or a traveler, this is the kind of place you’ll want to return to again and again. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to experience the very best of Tuscan food and hospitality!

Pitena Cantina e Cucina is an Italian restaurant with a welcoming staff and delectable cuisine. The dishes are made with fresh ingredients, and the pork cheeks are prepared from scratch, resulting in a mouthwatering taste. During the short waiting time for the cheeks, customers are treated to a complimentary cheese platter. The tartare is also skillfully seasoned, and the price-quality ratio is exceptional.

Nice staff who are prepared to deal with English speakers happily. Very cheap pizza too which is great. However the pizza isn’t wood fired and are only average in quality; this is fair given the price but I’d rather walk up the road and pay 2€ more for a wood fired pizza.

Great restaurant with very attentive and friendly service. One of the best pizzas we've had within the tuscan area even after multiple visits. Before getting our pizza we've been served some white bread with olive oil and even freshly baked pizza bread (no charge!). Yes, it is a little bit more expensive than other restaurants in this area, but for us it was completely worth it. We'll definitely be there again next time!

Mixed Feelings. No noodle dishes except for 4 - 5 different variants of lasagna, Hamburger "menus", and Pizza right next to the resident Pizzeria (with really good pizzas) where you only have to look over to the table next to your elbow for comparison - one wonders. Problem is, the food is not outstanding, neither is the Service. We had bresaola with Parmesan and rocket (which could not be found we were told and was replaced with lettuce after asking) and had to ask for bread to accompany it, grilled octopus with pommes duchesse (why?) that was nicely done but tasted sour (not lemony-fresh sour, but undefineable-but-cover-all-other flavours-sour) and a Pizza that is worth 3 out of 5 Stars (it was very generously covered with prosciutto crudo all over - other pizzerie would use that amount for at least 3 pizze, so that was a bonus). The card machine refused all our cards which worked fine before in other Shops so we had to scrape together all the Cash we had. I hope for them that they find a way to come up with a menu that befits their kitchen - the location could be a Gold mine and they are nice folks.

An utter disappointment. In 40 years of travel to Italy, this is absolutely the worse meal we’ve had. The different ravioli were identical in content (ricotta/spinach) with a splodge of meat sauce or pile of truffle on top. I ordered a fish lasagne which arrived as a meat lasagne with clams on top! Ok mistakes are made so I sent it back and a fish one came. Ok on top layers but bottom layers completely chilled cold (not even tepid) The pizza looked like a supermarket frozen (definitely not homemade) and was so ordinary and most of it was left. Spaghetti was cold and thus inedible. Mixed salad was a green salad till we asked them to add tomatoes. Wines were expensive for the quality ( min price €28). Our red wine was ok but served VERY warm. White wine ok. Parmigiana was good. To be fair they accepted our complaints and gave us a credit on all the food. This is my first ever negative food review having left numerous positive reviews elsewhere. Very disappointed.

Excellent food - vegetable lasagna and the asparagus appetizer were delicious. Also - the best, kindest and most attentive service we have had in Tuscany so far. Highly recommend!

The service was excellent; the two young women were excellent, always smiling and available to answer any questions. The chef and his team took us on a culinary journey (tasting menu) with an explosion of colors and flavors. The balance of the dishes is fantastic, and the bold flavors linger pleasantly on the palate for a long time. Thanks for the pleasant experience, and congratulations to everyone. The property is lovely. Fits so well into the landscape. There are 2 parking places available - outside or an underground garage. The personnel are very helpful and were very nice to welcome us even later then the check in hours. The terrace is great. Restaurant is very good and were great in preparing us a very late dinner upon our arrival. The room was specious, very clean. Bed and pillow were comfortable. Very quite during night. Towels and amenities were provided. Very good breakfast served at the property. Bianca the cat is very friendly. All in all a great experience. Great value for the money!

We had an amazing stay at Villa Godenano. The location, rooms, and service were all spectacular. The staff are extremely accommodating and friendly and go out of their way to provide great service and the location is a short walk or drive to the city center, Castellina in Chianti. Plus, Bianca the cat is a great host.

Miss Siena already. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Stayed here for a real Toscany wedding. Arrived around 23:30 and only saw early in the morning what a stunning location I stayed at. Breakfast was generous and abundant. Home made pies, pizza's, fresh cucumber and tomato's. The coffee was made the Italian way: a piece of art every time ordered. No can with coffee but made specifically every cup. The rooms were large, the bathroom also. The doors were old school with regular keys. So used to electronic doors with cards, I closed the door behind me and walked away, suddenly remembering I actually have to use the key to close it. But that is the charm of this B&B As said, miss it already, back in the Netherlands. Only visited the B&B and the wedding location, but it would be a could reason to return and visit the area.
Fitz U — Google review
A bit disappointed by the quality, mainly considering that the place probably wants to be more than it is. Several details that are nowaday considered basic even in most B&Bs, were surely sub-standard in the room we had: absence of the bidet, of air conditioning (we could not open the windows because no mosquito nets were installed), of wifi, very minimal complimentary bathroom products (only some samples of shower gel). Not adequately cleaned bathroom (we also found dirty bathroom towels left by the previous customer), with very basic plastic fittings. On the pro side: the place is really quiet even though being pretty close to the village centre (10min walk), has very comfortable bed and provides great breakfast. Something to work on...

We loved everything! We could not have asked for more. The staff was so friendly and helpful, the room was huge and very clean. The bed was very comfortable and having the private terrace made everything that much better. The beauty, peace and quiet of the countryside was perfect. We are definitely going to return and stay even longer!

(Translated by Google) Go and meet the staff! The evening started in the worst possible way, with a late pizza due to an apparently lost order, at the moment of reporting after some time had passed, there was a real commitment from the guys in the bar and the room to make me stay (me and my son) and thank goodness! Delicious pizza, exquisite staff, who cares about the delay, the 5 stars are for the people who work there with passion and a lot of attention to the customer! (Original) Andate a conoscere il personale! (Translated by Google) Nice and welcoming place and in good weather there is ample opportunity to eat outdoors. Choice of fish or meat menu, I would say of an acceptable level. Dishes not too elaborate (personally I prefer them) and with more than sufficient portions. Smiling and helpful staff very kind. Prices are adequate and not excessive. The only criticism is the waiting times between courses, but it can be accommodated with a full room. Overall passed and I will definitely be back for the pizza. (Translated by Google) The restaurant can only be reached via a very bad gravel road, very adventurous. It's on a campsite, which is a bit daunting. The food was tasty but overpriced, we ate much better for less. Unfortunately, the service was a disaster and it was a shame that my main course only came after my companion had already finished. Because of the long wait, I was already full! The side dishes were mixed up, so he got his potatoes late and my vegetables were left on the table. We weren't asked for coffee or dessert and our plates weren't cleared until we left. Too bad! Schade!
