This was supposed to be the best italian restaurant in town. Well. I ordered a Penne Arrabiata. The sauce was good, but the pasta was so overcooked that the penne falled apart on the fork. Was it just overcooked? Og maybe heated up in the microwave? The restaurant it selv was cosy, but the youngest waiter was not able to deliver som water upon request. There should be better places in this city. Fix the pasta and much is done.

Came all the way from Luxembourg to have one of my favourite Italian restaurants' cuisine and wasn't disappointed. The food is amazing, great servings and neat presentation. The classics are perfect (bolognese/carbonara/lasagna/..) and the other dishes too. Last time there weren't any lasagna ready and the server proposed an alternative which was similar. (Greatly appreciate the guidance). The staff is quick, efficient and welcoming. The restaurant is disability friendly, accessible to wheelchairs without issues and the waiters are very attentive to special needs. Too bad it's so far away and I can't visit more often !

Booked several weeks ago a table for 7.30pm. Arrived on time and a very unkind waiter said I booked 6.30pm and have to wait now at least 30min for a free table. Definitely a big NOPE!

Nice interior, good food, polite personnel. I got a feeling that the restaurant tries to perform at a higher level than they can actually support. For example, wine serving can be improved (opening the bottle correctly, not leaving the shreds of the cover at the table, being more engaged with the guests). Those might be small things, but for fancy places they matter.

Above average restaurant in Blankenberge. The food is good but not completely matching the expectations when you look at the prices on the menu. That's why I gave it 4 stars and not 5. Service was a bit slow as well but very friendly.

We visited this restaurant many years ago and had wonderful memories of our experience. This time, we ordered the Royal Seafood Platter paired with Moët & Chandon champagne. Unfortunately, the seafood was not as delicious as we remembered. It tasted as if it had been prepared in plain water, without salt or any spices – the flavor was simply "water." This was quite disappointing. Service: We had to get up ourselves to grab water glasses because the wait for the staff was too long. Atmosphere: The ambiance is pleasant, and the people are friendly, but these issues left us feeling disappointed.

Service is also very friendly and on target to help you to have the best experience. 👌🏻 Rob also shows King crab 🦀 for who wishes at your table. Update Sept. '23 : Went here with the family and enjoyed a delicious plat fruits de Mer, Lotte, and lobster. Always nice coming here, but make sure to book in advance! Unfortunately our service today was not the most friendliest man. Perhaps he had a bad day 🤷 Sept. '22 : Been here before so I knew what expect : the experience of eating at De Oesterput. Beautiful settings and decor and this place is all about seafood and fish. Though it's always tasty here one needs to fairly add that prices are at the higher/highest range in Blankenberge(!). For certain dishes like mussels I personally think they come over-priced. During our lunch today all seats were taken, it was a crowded house so best to reserve a table in advance. Enjoy!

4 Kings of the Sea is slightly overrated, better select something not proactively insisted by waitress for 54 Euro, the portion is also small. Langoustine was full of sand,could not eat normally. Only lobster (1/2 Kreeft) was good, better just to order Kreeft,

My family and I had brunch here, and I would say it became our favourite lunch place—Delicious, fresh and flavourful seafood with many selections of fish dishes. The staff were friendly, and I liked the atmosphere! It is highly recommended to make a reservation to eat. We had Gegratineerde Oesters met Champagne for appetizers with aperitief. As for the main dishes, we had the Plateau de Fruits de Mer Royal, Homard Grillé Au Beurre d'Ail, Gebakken zeetong, and Viscasserol ”Oesterput” with bottles of white wine. Overall we had a lovely time, and I will definitely come back again!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! Super rude from the start, no manners, basically barbarians. We sat down at 19:45 and ordered 2 entrées and a Côte à l’os. After a while they told us that there was enough meat left for only one person and all the meat choices were finished. We then had to change our first choice but, at 21:30 we were still not served. When I got to the counter to enquire about it and to tell them that almost 2 hours of wait were a bit excessive, the man in charge threw the napkin he had in his hands towards me and said very arrogantly “and what do you want me to do about it?”. To which I calmly pointed out that that was not a nice way to approach a customer. As a result he started being aggressive and getting more rude by the second. His wife (i think…) had to intervene to calm him down and told him that she would have handled it since he was clearly unable to interact with another human being. As a result, 2 hours later we left, AS OTHER TABLES DID! without eating anything else apart from the entrées. The entrées tasted good I must say, although I’ve been sick during the night and I am still not doing great (I don’t know if it’s because of their food but it was the only thing we ate that day except for a simple sandwich for lunch). BEWARE: they don’t tell you anything in advance, nor if there is a long wait nor if they basically have nothing left in the menu. In total we paid €50 for what we took, excessively expansive for the terrible service and manners we had to face.

The food was nice but the service was not too welcoming, when we arrived they just pointed the table without bringing us, asking tips for the manu the answer was that everything is good, we ordered theirs menus and the meat stew they served us was still cold and some deserts were not available anymore but they did not told us upfront before ordering the menus.

Nice restaurant, in a less nice town. The main dish was really good - the fish was excellent. The dessert, especially the ice cream could be a little more ambitious. All in all a recommendation for a restaurant.

If there was 0 stars I would give that. If you want food poisoning then go to this place. They serve you raw chicken. Then they want to reheat it. Then they cook you a New one. Don't offer anything as compensation. Then they can't accept 2 visa or master card. Bank account or credit card. Then say to you your bank card is a credit card. Unbelievable service. So much for nice last meal before heading home. Thanks for spoiling it.

we had to wait for 45 minutes to order the food and an extra 1h30 to get food. Slow service. There was even a couple that just gave up because they had to wait for so long. Some waitresses were nice but some were a bit rude so I didn’t feel very welcomed. But the food was ok.

I went to eat out as a solo on weekends, an Asian server dropped a menu and put on my table.. She didn't say anything. I ordered a noodle to another server, but also she didn't say anything.. I am not sure can they SPEAK English, Dutch, French??? After I left the town next day, I felt bad and terrible stomach ache. I would never go again.

The taste are not authentic, which is understandable that it tries to adapt to Europe’s taste. Expensive: 1 liter water 8 euro, 4 dumplings 8 euro, vegetable dish 16 euros, most disappointing was too little tofu, duck was too fat with sweet and sour sauce. Service was friendly.

We had takeaway, it was ready in the time they promised. Wonton soup was very tasty, babi pangan excellent, rice was standard quality (good), and chicken mihoen (noodles) was nice but a bit dry. Good value for the money.

This was the first but not the last time we’ve been here. The foods is amazing, honestly. The appetisers was baked melanzane, which was very tasteful and of the right amount for a starter. We had scaloppine Milanese, Pizza, Pasta and fish as main courses - all of them were very delicious. And the Zabaglione for dessert was just a dream. The staff was very friendly. The only downside was, that it was a busy day and we had to wait a bit longer between dishes. But we were not in a hurry and it was worth waiting. The food is of a very good quality, delicious and at a good prize. So, I can recommend it highly and the queue of people waiting to get a table confirm, that we are not the only ones with this opinion.

We went to this restaurant yesterday. Unfortunately, I have to say that after half an hour, maybe more, none of the restaurant staff paid any attention to us. Maybe because we didn't speak Italian. Great food, it felt authentic Italian. In fact, the whole experience felt Italian. The service was polite but a bit unwelcoming, maybe we came at the wrong time as they try to serve dinner in two shifts according to a leaflet inside and we arrived ~30 minutes after the first shift started. We chose pizzas and they were very tasty, no question. The interior design however is so eclectic that it is mesmerizing: dark, cold and modern paintings on one side and lighthearted 1920s style photo on the other, with various colored LED strips in the corners and an unnecessarily big clock above the corridor. During the evening retro Italian songs were playing on the speakers. Needless to say, we were entertained and just for the pizza alone, I would come again.

Flavourless green curry almost without vegetables, just a few bamboo shots. Ground beef dish just spicy without any flavor. Only the frog legs as a starter were passable, although more fatty and oily than crispy as we expected. The waitress kept asking if it was "lekker" (delicious). I told her no, asked why there were no Thai vegetables in the curry. She came back apologetic, "sorry sir normally we have but today very busy (a Monday?). The bill, with a scandalously high price for the bottle of water we had (9€ for a water bottle!!), didn't alleviate our frustrating experience.. We felt cheated on the food quality and ripped off by the high prices. Avoid the place if you want real Thai food, this is just a tourist trap. Worth driving to another place as it's apparently the only Asian restaurant around, which might explain the surprising and undeserved good previous ratings.

Not to mention that the staff doesn’t know how to smile and be welcoming, the food is horrible not even close to thai food! The rice is not jasmine sticky rice, the duck was disgusting and the beef was minced and it was not mentioned on the menu! Never coming back again! To AVOID!!

Stopped in for a nice margarita, it’s normally very difficult to find real tequila. Great presentation also, we wanted to stay for dinner but it was a busy weekend and it was a full house. Make sure to reserve ahead of time if you want to eat we know we will. Look forward to many more margaritas 😎

The food is ok, but you are not getting the quality you pay for. It are all simple dishes, nothing very refined. Also nothing that comes close to real Mexican food. The cocktails use quality ingredients, but the proportions are all wrong. They are five times sweeter than they should be, and contain way to much ice vs booze. I don't mind paying 12 EUR for a cocktail, but I want a decent portion and correct proportioning of ingredients. Staff is very friendly. Unless the prices go way down, or the quality way up, they won't be seeing me again. Also, 10,5 EUR for a big bottle of water...

One of the best Italian restaurants I have ever tried. It is obviously run by an Italian family with the best knowledge of great food and great wine. The calzone was exquisite, the perfect balance of flavours and ingredients, with a hint of chilli oil. A great place all-round.

Yesterday, my boyfriend and I have been to this Restaurant as we were very excited to be on vacation here and we both prefer italian food over sea food. First we were happy to get a table because it was very full. I couldnt really hear him talk, but that was okay since the people around us seemed to have a good time. We got the menue and decided on what to eat very quickly and closed the cards. There was no waiter/waitress in sight for over half an hour. We got very anonyed by that. There were like 5 waiter/waitresses and they did not come to us to even TAKE our order. So then after almost an HOUR we would get to order. Drinks took an amount of 15 minutes, approximately. Which also was okay, when thinking about the time we had to wait until then. The Food took about 30 Minutes. We ordered an Entrecôte and Tagliatelle. The Entrecôte should had been medium, instead it was rare and didnt taste good. My pasta tasted alright, nothing too special. The bread was old and dry. The Service was horrible. I‘ve never seen something like that before. I love going to restaurants and I work in a restaurant myself, but i was shocked by how unfriendly and inaccessible the staff was. When we wanted to pay we had to wait another good 20 minutes, which we were used to already. We decided to not tip, because we never had issues like that before and it was all in all the worst restaurant-experience ever. The man who cashed us up didn’t return with the change, instead he went in the back and didn’t come back. we had to ASK to get our money. Never had this before, one time and never again, very disappointed.

Very kind and patient people who are ready to explain the menu very well as well laugh together with you and even have a nice talk along ordering. The food is also very good prepared as there is a variety to choose from when you look down on the menu. Also the inside is beautifully decorated and therefore quite the eyecatcher. We had the Special “Shrimp Croquette” they where good crispy but not a single shrimp was founded inside apart from the garnish of 5 shrimps, that was very disappointing…not worth the price! salad on the side was good… Although the staff was very friendly.

One recommendation I would make is to add the English language to their menu. My family and I had a hard time reading the menu and we were immediately assisted. Our favorite place with my partner. We go there every time we are at the seaside. It is always tasty, you get a big portion, friendly staff, we recommend it to our friends all the time, or we take them with us. :)

The biggest homemade waffle you can try in Blankenberge. Their pancakes and whipped cream were also freshly made and taste delicious. You should definitely try it. Ps: Be aware of long waiting line, because it's quite popular.

Should retrain or replace your chef..might help in your reviews to stop Slow and inadequate food.

Had the fried snacks starter which was tasty and quite a big portion for 2 people! Would definitely recommend sharing with more people. Then had the sole and garlic mussels with fries to share. It was amazing and very flavourful! Both sole and mussels were fresh and cooked perfectly though one of my mussels did have sand. Taking a star off because the waiter was stroppy and made it a little uncomfortable though he started the evening pleasantly.
