Stayed in this beautiful hotel over a 5 day period for a wedding nearby. We staying in a room with a deck / patio that looked over the river, which was great. The room was OK (a lot was sold out in town by the time we made our booking) but the location was outstanding - plenty of parking as well. And the food was superb. The village of Pont Aven is heavenly, lots of pretty shops and the river was particularly breathtaking as it runs through the main areas. There are several paths down to the river near Galerie Izart - walk down them and see the majesty of the water bubbling over the gorgeous, large, pebble-shaped rocks. You could sit all day there and dip your legs into the water to get cool, whilst reading a book. Will definitely be returning to Pont Aven. **PS don't travel to this area of France without a car. Its is not easy to get to and there are no cabs, Ubers or rental car places.

The restaurant is located near the river with plenty of tables outside. The food is fresh and prices are pretty low compared to the rest of the city. The food is fresh and well prepared - we really enjoyed it! The only thing that takes away one star is the service. Unfortunately it's often the case in France that customer service is written rather small. Waiters taking too much time and again jo English skills at all.

Very nice food, a must for those who love seafood. It was busy and we waited for a while which wasn't a problem but we felt we were an inconvenience to one staff member however the others were amazing , thanks to them we would go back. Far better place to have lunch than in town when it's busy !

Sat at a very pleasant table overlooking the river. Tried to catch waitress' attention to no avail. Owner simply ignored us. We walked away after 15 minutes. In the UK this cafe would be out of business for their poor service

A very good combination: 1. Service was very attentive 2. Location superb (we sat outside for beautiful view) 3. Food was very well prepared (lobster risotto, oysters, veal... Each one done very nicely 4. The wine choices matched well 5. Prices were better than most places in the region. It was very busy, so we're glad we booked a table. People seemed to arrive in waves 7pm and 9pm so book accordingly. A very enjoyable experience.

Room 2,with a terrace overlooking the river was excellent. Not large but had all we needed. We looked around the numerous Pont Aven restaurants but decided that the hotel menu was our perfect for us and we weren't disappointed We last stayed here 9 years ago and we would hope to return one day You can book directly I think

There aren’t many restaurants open in Pont Aven in October. We discovered this one by chance. It is a lovely place. You enter through the door to the hotel, where the desk clerk will greet you. The restaurant door isn’t noticeable. But after the clerk guides you into the dining area you will encounter a beautiful room, with well informed, neatly dressed service staff. The food was superb. Excellent in preparation and presentation. Our only complaint was the unwillingness of the chef to cook the duck well, as we do not like it rare (or rosy, as the young waiter explained). But there are plenty of other choices, all of which we found very pleasing.

This hotel has been renovated so the photos on Google maps are outdated. They are now bright and fresh. The beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are clean. The lady on the front desk was wonderful. She was helpful and friendly and her English is perfect. The guy on the desk in the morning was also friendly and helpful. The restaurant has also had a revamp. The food was great and the waiter was really friendly and helpful.

We spent two nights at this hotel. Our room was small but had a comfortable bed and a modern, reasonably sized bathroom. Without air conditioning, we slept with the window open, exposing us to noise from youths on scooters and playing loud music on the hotel's terrace while drinking and smoking. The cigarette smoke also drifted up to our room on the first floor. We are unsure if second-floor rooms experienced the same issues. The staff was nice but did not offer protein-rich vegan options for breakfast (there are basically only fruits and bread, with no tofu, lentils, chickpeas, vegan cakes, soja yogourt or similar items). don’t go there. we failed to make a reservation at the other places in town, so we had no choice - but we should have fasted instead. service is super-clumsy and overwhelmed by simple tasks. brioche was burned, then i complained and got a mostly unbaked dough. fois gras was the only bad one i had in france - by far. the other bread was old. the “premium” fish had a wobbly skin, little taste and the rice was over cooked 2 times. the “sauce” was a failed mayonnaise, the vegetables were unpleasantly bitter. even for half the price, i would still be shocked by the food quality. go to any other 4.5+ restaurant in town and make sure to be early when making your reservation.

Terrible food - bread is obviously not fresh/ it is old. Products are of low quality - I especially did not feel comfortable du tonten fact fish and seafood is on the menu. Dishes are without spices. I would not recommend this restaurant to a friend or anyone at all.

Friendly, comfy and a good value gem. Rooms are good size, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was simple, but delicious. Staff friendly and helpful. Staying there made our trip absolutely perfect!

The bolognese!!!! I could honestly eat this for days - which I realize is somewhat ironic given this is an Italian restaurant in a small town in Britanny with amazing food - including Michelins!! But that bolognese - amazing!!!

We really enjoy this friendly Italian restaurant for a relaxed and informal meal. The pizza’s are made with good quality ingredients and you can taste the difference.

We stopped for a lunch by the river. We've stayed here before and very much enjoyed its location, attractive presentation and good food. Lovely savoury platter that we shared. Coffee lovely. Stayed longer than expected and watched the world go by! Good service too. I coukd get my powerchair parked out the way at a table on their terrace by the road. Very much enjoyed being back again.

Went here to get dinner. Staff were really slow and not interested. Waited 20 minutes to order even though it wasn’t busy. Meanwhile went past the kitchen which was glass fronted to see and it looked absolutely filthy. Decided to eat elsewhere wisely

Our 6th visit in three years to this wonderful restaurant. We had the set lunch menu of gnocchi with mushrooms which was divine. The gnocchi were like little pillows of air. Main was the duck with creamy mashed potatoes, beetroot and carrots. Simply delicious. So much flavour. The final course of a chocolate brownie with whole salted hazelnuts and a chocolate sauce with some salted caramel in it was a triumphant end. Washed down with a chardonnay/voignier. So good I have booked again for next week.

La Promenade was recommended to us by our Hotel and it was an excellent suggestion. A busy restaurant with excellent staff overlooking the river in a beautiful village. We enjoyed fish and chicken which were expertly cooked and delightfully presented. The restaurant has a modern interior but with plenty of character. We highly recommend this restaurant.

Good food at nice place. 21.90 for 3 course lunch at Pont Aven is not bad! We had a reservation but we couldn't choose where to sit (the nice view is inside, not on the terrace!). Anyway, you probably can't sit there if you don't have a reservation because the place was full! The food was ok. My friends had the plat du jour of Black Angus, with plain boiled vegetables. Very good quality of meat, well cooked but nothing i couldn't do at home. I had the Risotto de pomme de terre which was only with potatoes and no rice. It was a bit strange and i didn't like that the potatoes were undercooked. Also it lacked salt and pepper... Overall not bad, but not great and not a place i would want to visit again.

We had lunch to celebrate our diamond wedding. Were given a lovely window table, had a great meal and at the end (having mentioned the event briefly when booking) were each presented with a large plate on which a congratulatory message had been written in chocolate. Nice touch! And le patron came and added his good wishes personally.

We have reserved well in advance in the restaurant and shared the information that one of us was suffering from multiple allergies. Upon our arrival, the serving team and kitchen was already prepared. Although we had the been to Michelin star restaurants in the past, never had we had the opportunity to enjoy the full menu in an allergy friendly way. In Rosmadec Le Moulin, we could enjoy a full 10 (!) course tasting menu, brilliantly composed and adjusted to allergies (no easy task, without any milk products). The kitchen has excelled, just as the service. From the serving at the table through the wine pairing up to the arrival of the cheese (for the non allergic party) - we were amazed by the attention and professionalism. If you are in Pont-Aven and you can treat yourself to this wonderful restaurant, please take our suggestion and do! Yes the 10 course tasting menu is pricy (around 110 €) just as the wine pairing (around 130€) - but it will be a unique experience for you. From here a special thanks to the restaurant for giving us this unique opportunity to experience modern french cuisine in this enjoyable way. A special thanks to the sommelier as well who paired the courses perfectly and was very attentive and pleasant in explaining the different qualities of the wines :) Just some of the highlights: 1. I can only think of one meal at à 3 star in the nordics that we enjoyed as much or more than Le Moulin but to compare to other restaurants does them à disservice, the fish plates were masterful with the moules piment vert et lait du ribot a surprise and a delight. Fabulous food and best service we had in Bretagne. The oysters were fresh and local. The charcuterie and cheese was delicious with house made pickles. We loved that the waiter took the time to describe the various meats and cheeses to us so that we would know what was on the plate. The wine was delicious and a health pour... Not a warm welcome. Being single couldn't get a table. Everything "reserved". Went back half an hour later, still no table. Finally decided to wait till a couple left. Got the table, but not very friendly about it. (French) Family who came later, were served first. Pancake was cold by the time I got it. Only one toilet, outdoors around the back. The so called "reserved" table for two never got taken.

Great location if you are physically fit enough to cope with the descent & subsequent return climb, which thankfully we were. We were impressed by the reception & housekeeping staff but this "hotel" has its problems. Primarily that it seems acceptable for guests to have to struggle to unlock the door to their bedroom (annex rooms only apparently - avoid). Ours was specifically challenging, on one occasion other passing guests with similar experiences also tried and we had to revert to help from the receptionists or passing housekeeping staff. On our last night, a Sunday when there is no restaurant service, we made sure we were back in our room before reception closed at 21:30 in fear of being locked out.

My husband, 3 kids and I enjoyed our stay in the apartment. It had everything we needed. Very convenient with parking facilities and easy access to the center ville. The service was excellent and very friendly both from the reception / bar and the housekeeping staff. The reception staff informed us of the Tuesday market upon our Monday night check in. We would have missed it if we weren't told so thank you! The market was lovely! Thank you to the wonderful team of Le Domaine de Pont Aven.

Alyson and I were greeted and treated pleasantly throughout our stay. It has to be admitted that we are not great fans of contemporary but our room, like the hotel, was spacious, clean and finished to a very high standard. Easily enough to convert us! A very nice meal in the restaurant was enjoyed us and was prepared by an excellent Chef. It was however a little pricey overall which may be why some residents went into the town instead. The only spoiler really was the we were served with a bottle of red wine of the wrong vintage to the one we where expecting from the wine list (which is rated much higher on review sites). Didn't realise at first. It was ok to drink but could have done with at least another year maturing. However, it was also overpriced for the quality of wine it was. This is sacrilege in my eyes and, meant this hotel only receives 4 stars. Perhaps this is a bit unfair. The morning receptionist was informed and reacted in a thoroughly professional way, as I would expect. Breakfast was brilliant with a vast selection of fresh tasty food. All said, this was a very nice place to stay indeed and on my list to return to in a few years when, I'm certain, it will receive 5 stars

Booked one of the Holiday homes in the 'Hameau' part of the hotel. (+) Great little (spacious) houses, very well maintained (cleaned every 2nd day). Use of hotel pool and walking distance to the centre of Pont-Aven. Staff very helpful and friendly. Overall I would recommend this to friends and we would stay here again. (-) Wifi connection was very poor and could do with improvement - no signal at all at times - eats into the Mobile Data Bundle. I think that even by offering secure Wifi it would be better as anyone can connect. We stayed for 10 days and there was no washing machine (facilities are available on the edge of Pont-aven but I would prefer to have had facilities at the Hotel). All in all, the positives outweigh the negatives and I do recommend the holiday homes of Le Domaine De Pont Aven.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff, spacious room (rare in Europe), comfortable bed, strong air conditioning (again, rare), close to town center. *We only stayed one night and didn't make use of any of their facilities.

The whole stay was great. The only negative thing was breakfast which was a bit shambolic. One man on his own could not cope. We would definitely stay there again, we stayed in the apartments and they were great.. Post Even is a lovely place and we will be back. Thankyou

We stayed in one of the two-bed apartments with a kitchen and a small garden. It was very comfortable and immaculately clean. We had a problem with our hired car and Floriane, the receptionist, negotiated with the company and had our flat tyre repaired. We had a wonderful four days beginning with the Museum de Pont Aven which houses so many wonderful paintings. We were disappointed not to see the picture of Mademoisell Julia Guillou de Pont-Aven by Charlotte Katherine McCausland which hung on the walls of the Grand Salon for years. We ended our trip with an amazing music concert by the Ulrich Burck and his family in the Chapelle de Tremalo. Thanks once again to Floriane.

Best bread in Pont-Aven, amazing gâteaux bretons (we love the lemon one), also the caramels are to die for and the Kouign aman. The staff there is super friendly, always smiling and willing to help! We highly recommend 😀
