The Watering Hole is a nice bar in the middle of Peranporth Bay Beach with plenty of seating both in and outside. It faces towards some amazing cliff arches that you can walk through to other arches, Caves and another part of the beach. The beach itself is patrolled by Lifeguards and is child friendly where the water comes in as the tide goes out far. Many people bring beach tents and wind breaks. However the seagulls are a menace and will have your food in a blink of an eye if you are careless.

Amazing bar and restaurant on the beach! A must when in Cornwall. Friendly staff, good quality cocktails and tasty squid and nachos which are fair portions. Live music acts!

Great location on Perranporth beach, the addition of the upstairs terrace is brilliant! Great choice of beer and drinks. Good is ordered and collected from dedicated points, which is good. Food was good, not a lot of choice but value for money Staff were so great. Definitely worth a visit.

The Watering Hole on Perranporth beach is a popular spot. At high tide the sea comes very close to the large outdoor seating area. It frequently has live music events to which dogs are not welcome but are welcome at all other times. There are bars upstairs and downstairs with a large veranda. The newly built extension contains public toilets and an outdoor shower for beach goers. I have docked one star only for the fact that customers need a fat wallet when visiting. It is far from cheap. A simple Doombar will cost £5.30 per pint. There are other bars close to the beach but they also are not cheap. Overall the Watering Hole is a great asset to the beach, as a local I just wish it was more affordable. Great for holiday makers for food and drink, pleasant views and dog friendly. Just make sure you have plenty of money.

The Nest is a fantastic new addition perched right above The Wateringhole, sitting quite literally on Perranporth beach. It offers a perfect mix of relaxed dining and lively nightlife, making it a must-visit spot whether you’re in for a chilled afternoon or a buzzing evening out. Brilliant place! Very busy but got served quickly. Got told 45 min wait for food which was fine but arrived much quicker. Brilliant atmosphere and very reasonably priced to say where you are! Definitely be back

Dog friendly with a view!! The staff were sooooo friendly, best in Cornwall. There are only 14 covers inside, plus the terrace outside so in peak it will be hard to get a table, but we went in October so we were only 1 of 3 guests. The food was so tasty! We had fish tacos and catch of the day. Highly recommend, but if visiting in summer maybe book

Unplanned visit. What a ‘treat’! Only intended a snack, but lovely reasonably priced menu and opted for the crab salad with fresh bread and French fries. Delicious!! Hubby had small pork dish and happy with this as shared mine. Friends had the king prawns and Mussels. All food well presented as and very tasty. Staff lovely and drinks competitively priced for area. Would highly recommend and return again.

Visited 13/7/25 for lunch after a day at the beach, food was absolutely lovely, really great flavours, portion sizes are brilliant!! Staff were friendly, beautiful location, also a nice calm atmosphere, lovely decor!

Sat outside in October, lovely views. Staff were amazing and friendly, great service. Dog friendly inside and out. Food was outstanding and great value for money. The fish tacos were another level.

Had a wonderful meal here and could not fault the service. Our server, who’s name began with T (apologises can’t find our receipt to check her name) was friendly, welcoming and treated my friend who’s birthday we were celebrating amazingly. Food was great, loved the decor and incredible food! Will be returning.

Great views, nothing else. Frozen Mai Tai, wasn’t, just ice, couldn’t taste any alcohol, ridiculously sweet. Charcuterie was more like a ploughman’s and the prawns were over cooked and all overpriced, the views however were great.

Had dinner here on 2 occasions: table of 4, then table of 7 during an 8 night stay in Perranporth. Would definitely recommend because the food was very good; the menu is wide ranging. Drink options are good, including non alcoholic and wine options. Staff are (I believe) local too, which is a positive. Also, dogs are welcome. It can get a little loud but nothing out of the ordinary - still a lovely atmosphere. Manager very helpful after I realised deposit of £50 on table (payable on any reservation of more than 6) hadn’t been taken off final bill. Sorted next day within minutes. Pictures of: scallops and chorizo (presented slightly differently on separate occasions), linguine with fish (I asked for Parmesan which was delivered in a pot), pork tacos, catch of the day (brilliant butter sauce) and sticky toffee pudding. Also, cheesecake options - white chocolate & strawberry one day, cherry the other - were amazing.

Friendliest welcome, tastiest brunch and gorgeous service. Today we visited Number 4 breakfast and bistro for brunch and coffee. We were welcomed by the friendliest team who clearly love what they do. We were served Cornico artisan coffee in delicious cappuccino and scoffed a full breakfast and eggs Royale. The food was deliciously prepared and presented and excellent quality . Our very lucky dog was also served his own tasty sausage as he lapped up cuddles from the team. We had specifically returned following our last visit to the area where we had a Take Away crab sandwich. Only wish we were staying closer as we would like the frequent here every day! Didn’t manage an Instagram about image of breakfast, but instead include a very real, ‘dug-in’ one. if you’re in the area, be sure to visit for a delicious menu and/or drinks and/or cake and sweet treats!

Hidden gem of a place in Perranporth. We didn't have a booking, however the staff were more than happy to accommodate my wife and I and my daughter. They allocated us a lovely table outside the front of the restaurant which added to a pleasant dining experience. Our server was pleasant and bubbly and was fantastic in answering are several questions. I settled on the catch of the day (seabream) and my wife on the beef ragu. Hand on heart this was one of the best main courses dishes I have eaten. The pan fried fish was perfect, with the skin side having a nice crisp to it and the fish beautifully cooked. This came with crushed potatoes, broccoli stems and a cray fish sauce. It was simply spot on. To follow was amble crumble with clotted cream. Lovely crunchy crumble on top with a fruity filling brimming with flavour. All in all I could not fault.the food or service and would definitely recommend No4 if your in Perranporth.

Amazing friendly staff. We ordered the seafood platter and when we asked how many people it was suitable for, they told us that while it was meant for 2 people, they'll throw in some extra stuff and make it sufficient for our party of 3 which included a pre-teen. When the food came, it blew our minds. Every item was delicious, and this was perhaps the most perfectly cooked platter we've ever had!

5 of us booked in for our first visit for lunch today. Have to say the roast dinners were absolutely banging. 3 Roast Beef, 1 Crispy Belly Pork and a Mushroom Wellington. Followed by 2for1 puddings. Service was spot on and staff very polite and attentive. Will definitely be returning in the near future. Well done to all.

An unexpected gastronomic delight in Perranporth. Food was really good although a bit pricey. So not really value for money, but it's the best place to eat in the area by far.

It's a beautiful view but full of dogs and walkers and yummy mummies with babies in papoose. Food looks good coffee lovely but slightly pretentious and up a flight of stairs

Absolutely amazing, just wonderful being able to sit somewhere overlooking the sea, with an excellent coffee and catch up with friends. Didn't have any food this time but will be back. The staff and service was excellent. Will be going back and would highly recommend.

Best location on Perranporth Beach. A cute little café right by the sea. Probably one of the best carrot and orange cakes I’ve ever had. Their signature Taz hot chocolate isn’t bad either! A lovely little spot.

What a fantastic place to sit overlooking the beautiful beach of Perranporth! The latte is excellent, the toasties and cakes are delicious, and the staff are very friendly. If you are going to Perranporth, the Alcatraz is a must. We visit there regularly. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐👍👍

Popped in here for a pot of tea and a clotted cream scone, service was great, very friendly great atmosphere, very reasonably priced, and above all the clotted cream and jam scone was delicious.

What a lovely little tea room!! Great prices considering it's really close to the beach and such a homely atmosphere with great friendly staff!! Food was lovely and the scone was delicious and so fresh. Felt welcomed the second we entered the door, it was around Easter and we couldn't leave a change tip so we got the staff some Easter eggs to say thankyou!!! Would recommend to anyone!!

Called in today to be greeted with a lovely smile and friendly welcome...So accommodating with seating and appeared nothing was too much trouble... The meal we had delicious and of course the irresistible cake was soooo moist... Well worth a visit....Really enjoyed our visit....

A wonderful, wonderful visit to The Tea Room in Perranporth. Having visited with my parents 18 months prior, we remembered how much we loved it and made a return this trip and so glad we did. We had two cream teas and a cake and cookie for our children, which were all absolutely delicious. Easily the best cream tea we've had in Cornwall, with beautiful crockery and a lovely warm atmosphere. The owners are incredibly lovely, accommodating and so amazing with children, especially our boys who were causing chaos! The kindest people who make you feel so welcome. Incredible service, great food, gluten free options and very reasonably priced.

First time visiting the tea room on Friday. Why have I not been in before. Food was delicious, best cup of tea in Perranporth. Service was very good and extremely friendly. Will definitely be back. Good luck guys keep up the good work.

Absolutely love this little tea room - first visited a couple of years back for cream teas which were gorgeous. We visited this morning and had coffee (lattes), the kind man who was running the show gave our kiddies extra biscuits (instead of them pinching ours!) and gave the kids doggy treats to feed another customer’s dog. After my boy commented that he had doggy slobber on his hand the man helped him clean his hands. Sadly we never made it back as promised for scones as the weather cheered up and we spent the rest of the day on the beach but we will be back next time we are in the area! 5 star service, so so welcoming and the coffee was delicious. Thank you! It’s the little things like engaging with our children that really make a difference to us 🤩 EDIT - we did in fact make it back the following day for sandwiches / toasties…and they were just as delicious as the coffee!

Just popped in for somthing to eat and drink on a busy Sunday afternoon and they found us a table immediately. We do have a few dietary requirements and they worked around them all, the whitebait, prawns, salad and burger were fantastic. The service was also brilliant, they simply couldn’t do enough for us. 10/10

Great little seaside food spot. They were so accommodating for our family. Just know the fries come in two portion sizes. The full size could easily feed three people maybe even four. I told them the Korean version could have been spicier but was informed the English don’t like spice. Everyone was so friendly and it generally has a very upbeat and cheery vibe.

I visit Cornwall every year from London for the last 10 years, always make sure to have a family meal at this place! Great vibes very chilled and laid back, staff are amazing, it's great for families and dog owners, reasonable price, tasty fresh food, beautiful views of the beach with outdoor seating. Worth a visit!

What a cracking place. Small menu but what they do, oh my days do they do well. My burger was probably one of the best I've ever had. And who ever thought that dirty fries with curry sauce and bhaji bits would be as awesome as they were. Lovely chilled out staff and a really nice friendly vibe in the place. Def will go back there again. Loved it.

The wife and I were pleasantly surprised with the quality of our food and portion sizes, the food was presented well, the food was perfectly heated and really tasty. The staff were very friendly and most helpful. We will definitely be coming back, well done and thank you.

Nice little gem on the sea front. We sat outside in the unique beer garden. Service was outstanding, and they provided us with a blanket to stay warm. We ordered nacho's, Chorizo Bravas and a Chicken Chorizo Burger (See photo's attached) I bulked the burger up for an extra £4 and for what it was I felt it was a tad expensive for what you get but the food was great. They even went out of their way to make me a dessert, which was a brownie and ice cream (not on the menu) 👏 I would highly recommend coming here to enjoy your evening as the sun sets behind you.

First time coming here, and it was our first day in Perranporth, and we stumbled upon this place whilst looking for food. We gave it a go and wow, it exceeded our expectations! We both went for the mixed grill, and upgraded it to surf & turf. A very generous portion of food, so tasty and very well cooked. We'll be back again for sure!

Maybe the best pub we’ve found on Perranporth. Firstly it’s dog friendly. Plenty of room as well as an outside area. Drink selection is good, prices aren’t bad. Food was excellent,good prices. Fish pie was amazing. Baguettes were big. Sausage and mash was great. Staff all nice and polite . Will be back here next year

Went for the Sunday carvery today, was blown away at how delicious it was, the beef was some of the juiciest most tender beef I have ever eaten, the homemade stuffing was also some of the best I’ve had too, the pork and crackling was beautiful and all of the veg was amazing too, I’d say this was the best carvery I’ve ever had, also have to mention the gravy was rich and lovely and thick which I love! Definitely recommend 100% will be back when I’m next in perranporth!

Could be such a great place. Quality of food in average and takes so long to come out. Ordering on app makes it very easy in the garden and dogs are welcome. Staff are not overly engaging and you pay a price for location

Lovely staff but good was a long wait I personally think it was sitting there on the pass. So it was cold and the meat though. Also although well behaved dogs welcome if they are going to bark ferociously and loudly every time some one comes in the owner and the pet should be asked to leave.

Went their for the first time for my mums birthday, beautiful place with decent food and not bad service. Has a great time and wouldnt mind returning. Would recommend!

Excellent ice cream sundaes, best Knickerbockerglory I've had in years

Dog friendly ice cream parlour! The ice cream is made on site which is great. Lovely choice of flavours. We got two Scoops each and there was soooo much. The flavours didn't taste how you would expect when getting the flavour, the Pistachio didn't taste like Pistachio.

Ice cream tasted cheap and watery. The cone was the best bit, so disappointing. Good selection of flavours all looked nice, we had 5 different flavours across 3 ice creams none were great sorry to say :(

It was just okay. I had ice cream here many years ago and on my latest visit I was quite disappointed that the quality had gone downhill. Came in a group of 6, tried a little of everyone's ice cream, nothing stood out. Our dog had a peanut butter "dog ice-cream" and really liked it.

Fantastic ice cream and safe for coeliacs. Labels showing gluten. Staff very aware of coeliac disease and understanding about changing utensils etc. GF cones available too. Lovely tasting ice cream. Great flavour and service. Thank you for your understanding.

It's a nice little place to stop. I had the pizza this time round with a latte and I enjoyed it. Staff are friendly and attentive. I will be coming back to try some of the desserts.

I came in yesterday with my family for some ice cream after a walk in Perranporth. The staff were lovely, and the young lady who served me was particularly attentive to my gluten allergy (sterilising the scoop). Would definitely recommend to anyone out and about in Perranporth!

Went in for a drink and ended up staying hours! Lovely log fire, which the staff kept topping up. All the dogs were loving it! The staff are so friendly and kind. They have board games, a pool table and a shuffleboard. We played shuffleboard £10 deposit and £10 for the hour. The drinks are reasonably priced. The atmosphere is great, cosy pub.

Stopped in for a quick BLT sandwich on brown bread. Nice size portions, unfortunately, on this occasion, they took 45 minutes to serve us two sandwiches. One member of staff claimed they had a large order before us. Even though the place was virtually empty on a Monday at 2.30pm. Another claimed they ran out of brown bread and had to go shopping. Our carpark time was running out, so we were on a time limit. We had to rush eating and not enjoy our sandwiches as much. Which is the only reason I've marked their service as 3 stars. Nice menu's selection with plenty of non alcohol drinks are available. The staff are very friendly and helpful. It's worth a visit if you're in the area

On a hot summer's day when the beach was packed, me and the three kids wandered up the main drag looking for lunch and found this place. Plenty tables available, friendly, welcoming staff and the food came nice and quickly. I had a jacket spud, one child had a sandwich and the other two shared a large chilli nachos. I think we might have thrown caution to the wind and had a portion of chips too. Anyway, food was lovely, really nice interior, all good!

Visited this pub on 24th July had a lovely welcome as we walked in all the staff were so nice. The meals and drinks were great .Would recommend a visit to this pub .Will return again .

The Perranporth Inn - Where the Slush Puppies Have a Kick and the Fries Deserve a Round of Applause Well then… what a little gem this place is. You walk in thinking you’re just going to grab a pint and sit quietly in the corner, and before you know it, you’re on your second alcoholic slush puppy and declaring loudly to your dog that these skin-on fries are, quote, “absolutely sublime” while everyone else nods in agreement. The decor is spot on, it somehow manages to feel both cosy, sporty & classy, the kind of place where you wouldn’t be surprised if James Bond, Jürgen Klopp and a Cornish fisherman were having a pint together in the corner. The staff? Lovely. Funny, friendly, and they don’t even blink when you ask them which flavour slush puppy will best pair with your fries (answer: all of them). The drinks? Excellent. They’ve got a proper range that keeps everyone happy, from the beer purists to the cocktail sippers, and of course, the aforementioned boozy slushies, which should probably come with a warning label: may cause spontaneous dancing and declarations of love for your own dog. Speaking of dogs, they’re not just allowed here, they’re treated like royalty. Water bowls, pats, and even compliments. My dog left with a bigger ego than me. So if you’re in Perranporth and fancy some great drinks, sublime skin-on fries, and a place where both you and your dog can feel like VIPs… get yourself to the Perranporth Inn. Just don’t blame me when you leave with a brain freeze and a big smile.

First time I've been in here in all the years we've been coming to perranporth but its great for a game of pool and a pint. Bit of a trek out back for the toilets but beautifully decorated and will definitely return.

Always call in when here on holiday. Always good fun, great crowd, staff and selection of drinks. Karaoke is always fun too

Visited on a Friday evening with family and friends and had a fantastic experience. The food was absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced. Service was friendly and attentive, the chef came by to check how everything was, we had clean plates all around, which says it all! We’ll definitely be back and highly recommend.

Good little country pub. Nice selection of food. All well cooked and presented. Put two tables together for us as a party of 9, including 3 children. Some good beer on tap as well.

Dropped in for a few pints and met Matt and Diane. I didn't eat on this occasion but I'm looking forward to experiencing what this level 7 chef can knock up. I hear that his breakfasts and Sunday roasts are amazing. Beers cost between £5 and £6.

As a regular visitor to the area this is our first visit since the pub has changed hands and we were not disappointed. Warm atmosphere and perfect service. Food was stunning, good portions and reasonably priced. Can highly recommend and will be definitely be returning.

Service is lovely Popped past on the off chance. Stopped for a drink. The outside needs a little bit of TLC, for example hanging baskets just to give it a little touch of class.

Buried in a little village off Cocks Hill Road this is a little gem. Authentic old pub, locals supping ale and the kitchen banging out quality plates of food. The landlady is welcoming and a massive plus for us is that it’s dog friendly, bowl of treats on the bar and bowls of water laid out for their furry (non human) guests.

When you order fresh cooked food not ding ding stuff, you expect to wait, people, this scoff id worth any wait, great dishes, plentiful portions, wholesome and tasty. Well worth the push up the 'hill' 👍 try it for yourself, don't always be led by others opinions, your missing out. Cheers 🍻

Appalling. Manager decided to make a fuss about my son not having any I.D despite him already having had an alcoholic drink , infact purchasing the round for his whole family. We are holiday. The manager clearly offering us up as a training opportunity for his younger minions and making an example of us. I tried to appeal saying we are on holiday and there is no violation, and to please be reasonable. He embarrassed us offering to box our food up and escort us off the premises. We were embarrassed and humiliated. After a lovely day he made a choice to spoil it. Shame on him. I believe in karma and I wish it 10 fold on his smug face.

Top pub, great food and service. I've no idea how Mr Martin does it but it works. Real ale is kept in exceptional quality.

We often visit for a breakfast as we live 10 mins away. It's very hit and miss as to who takes your order. I have an egg allergy so asked today if I could swap the 2 eggs for an extra hash brown or sausage. She said 'no, we don't do swaps'! I explained to her that 3 weeks ago it was fine, but she just said again 'no swaps'. In the last 5 times we have visited for breakfast 3 times it has been fine, the other 2 times with the same lady taking our order, she has refused. So we went somewhere else instead. This doesn't seem good business to me!

Went to the Green Parrot today with an assistance dog. The dog was wearing full assistance dog harness and lead. The duty manager told us we must leave. I asked why, she said dogs are not allowed, even though the sign outside says "Assistance Dogs allowed". She said i have to have ID for my dog (which is incorrect) She refused to give her name until I said I wasn't leaving without it. She was very condescending and rude. Once we got the name she walked around laughing and joking with her staff members. I will be reporting the Duty Manager for this blatant and illegal act of discrimination I certainly would not go to this place even if you have an assistance dog you will be asked to leave.

Lovely Italian restaurant in the heart of Perranporth. I can’t believe we’ve never chose to eat here before; highly recommended. Food, staff and ambience were perfect. Visited with hubby and teenage son. The lobster linguine was delicious and the pizzas a decent size. All the dishes look delicious it’s hard to choose. Can’t wait to visit again. Special mention to Sulema our server.

I had a dog with me and was able to sit on tables outside with view of the car park. I was surprised considering how dog friendly the are a is and was a shame as was empty inside and rather cold out. I searched Google for any Italian restaurants that made risotto and funny this was the only one I could find. It was nice had flavour but salty and I was unable to remove a vegetable I didn't eat, so I picked it out. Not ideal for anyone with allergies

The service was great, really warm and welcoming. The atmosphere had a bit of a romantic vibe—my 9-year-old’s already decided it’s where he’s taking his future girlfriend! And the food? Absolutely delicious.

Nice little restaurant. The food here was nice, it came quickly and was hot. The restaurant was clean and servers were pleasant.

They were the best! Managed to accommodate us, 6 adults and 7 children! at short notice and were absolutely brilliant! The food was divine! They state they're not a fast foid restaurant but the Italian chef who baked our pizzas tur ed them out like on a conveyor belt! All made from scratch! The food was fantastic, both the pizza and pasta. The service was somewhat interesting as we went in for a lunch time meal, we had to go wondering around to find out if they were open and serving. (Even though it said they were open and had lunch time offer billboards outside and this was about 20 mins after they were open). To be fair, they did have caveats about service may be longer as they are a family run restaurant. We were waiting for someone to turn up to work and also someone to return with shopping before service properly started, but that was all fine. Will likely visit again as the prices were reasonable too.

Where do I begin….I had booked a table prior to arriving at the restaurant. When going in, our table was not ready and the staff had stated that we hadn’t booked. They then corrected themselves and apparently they had found the booking. They then placed two tables together. I had my two year old son with me and a high chair wasn’t even offered, even though I had spoken with staff on the phone earlier on in the day to state that I needed one. The staff were rude apart from the young girl working there. It was almost like an inconvenience any of us were there. Considering they had a line of willing paying customers, none of us felt welcomed into the restaurant. The staff were shouting at each other across the restaurant over diners in Italian. This was extremely unprofessional. Upon clearing tables, they would not communicate with you and would just grab a hold of glasses or plates whilst leaning over you not putting your personal space into consideration. The food was mediocre, we ordered a minestrone soup as a main but were given a dirty look and told it’s a starter. When asking if the chef could make a well known Italian dish, again another dirty look was exchanged and the staff were dismissive of this and said they would ask the chef and shrugged their shoulders. Overall I will NOT be re-attending this restaurant, which is a shame as I have been coming here for years. I am surprised that it is still open if I am honest. No wonder the locals say to go elsewhere, I should have listened!

Food has been absolutely fantastic. Have eaten the set menu for one, two nights in a row. Without a doubt the best Indian Takeaway I have ordered from. Highly recommend visiting this place. Thank you for the delicious food.

We went here on holiday with the intention of getting a takeaway but decided to sit down when we saw it was a nice clean restaurant. The staff were very pleasant and and food tasted wonderfull. We have been tonso many indian food restaurant where the food always just taste the same and looks the same what ever dish. However, this was different, every dish and starter had its own unique taste and they all tasted delicious. We will definitely go back next time we are in the area.

We booked a table as it was a Friday evening, but we needn't have bothered as we were the only ones in there for the whole of the evening. So needless to say, we had great service. The trouble was, it was a bit too quick! We eat at a lot of Indian restaurants, and they tend to have their own unique flavours, but here, we didn't really enjoy the food. The portion size was very generous, the rice and naan were lovely, but the curries weren't the best. The highlight of the evening was the delightful waitress, who was really friendly and helpful. It's just a shame it wasn't a bit busier to give it an atmosphere.

Food was excellent one of the best I've had in a while. Great flavours and good heat. We certainly will be returning next year. We went early after being in the beach, so there wasn't really much atmosphere, but that didn't effect the meal and our enjoyment.

The Jaipur is my local Indian restaurant. Always first class in every way. The staff are lovely, the Thurs night banquet and Sunday buffet are top quality. Highly recommended.

On holiday. Had eaten here before with previous owners with varying quality but these owners have produced curry that is really top class. I would highly recommend.

Nice little breakfast that the family have been coming to for 6 or 7 years. They’ve recently moved a few doors down from their original location into really rather swish new digs. It’s only a small place with 8 or 9 tables but it has windows on 2 sides so it’s light and airy. The owners and staff are friendly and attentive and breakfast was lovely.

Sat down and service was quick, ordered a pot of tea for two and two Bacon Sarnies(Sandwhich). They arrived and all was good, just what you'd expect from a little Cafe in a Beach Town, value, quality and freshness were all there and the service was friendly. I'll go back and have a Full English nextime we're in Town next year, lovely little place on a corner to watch the world go by.

I really enjoyed my stay here! They have a huge menu card, I actually want to try a few more things. Its hard to decide and there are many vegan/ vegetarian options. They are very kind and friendly and I am sure this was not my last visit here!

I visited Haddock’s End in Perranporth to pick up two family meals after seeing some strong reviews online and on Google, so my expectations were reasonably high. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t quite live up to what I’d hoped for. When I arrived, it was kind of busy, three or four people waiting ahead of me, max!, which is perfectly normal for a seaside chip shop getting ready for peak time. I leaned over to the person cooking and politely asked if they could pop a vegetarian burger on for me, as I know from my own experience of owning and running three fish and chip shops for over a decade that a little heads-up helps to keep things running smoothly. Instead of an acknowledgment or even a friendly “No problem,” I was met with a scowl and a blunt, “Yeah, we’ll do it in a minute mate when I get a chance.” Not exactly the warmest welcome and certainly not the kind of attitude that makes you feel valued as a customer. The wait itself wasn’t long, and the food was ready quickly enough. Prices were the typical high seaside rates you come to expect, fair enough if the quality and portions justify it, but in this case, they didn’t come close. When I got to the beach and unpacked the vegetarian burger, it was just that: a burger in a dry bun. No salad, no sauce, no offer of anything extra when it was handed over. Just a dry bread roll and patty. Pretty underwhelming and bland, especially given the price (see attached photos). I had to doctor it with some chips and curry sauce just to make it palatable. On a slightly positive side .. just, ...the chips themselves were good, fresh, well-cooked, and not overly greasy , and I’m told the fish was good too, although again eye watering costs. Overall though, it felt like a fairly average experience all round: disappointing service, underwhelming food quality for the price, and a vegetarian option that clearly hadn’t been given much thought at all. Would I recommend it? Honestly, probably not, especially given the other strong choices in town. It’s the sort of place that could easily be great with a bit more care and customer service, but sadly it didn’t quite hit the mark for me this time.

A nice takeaway chip shop, we previously visited a few years ago and returned. I thought the food was well priced (of course if you’re having fish be prepared to pay more). Only thing to note is that they had almost ran out of chips, it was unsure whether we’d get the number of portions we wanted but we did. Staff were friendly for us.

The location is a perfect 10, but that's where the good news ends. The staff's attitude suggests they'd rather be anywhere else, and they've perfected the art of making you feel like your business is an inconvenience. The food is equally unenthusiastic. The fish tastes like a distant memory, and the chips? They've given up on life and are just soggy, sad potato impostors. Save your money—your taste buds will thank you.

Quick Polite service... Generous size white chunky fish covered with lovely melt in the mouth batter... I had read a couple of not so good reviews so was a tadge dubious, no need...Had a great experience..I ordered 2 Cod which were huge and just one portion of chips and that was more than plenty...Stuffed..!!..Highly Recommend....

Ordered four portions of fish & chips – asked for three with just salt and one with salt & vinegar (extra vinegar). Got the opposite: three salt & vinegar, one salt. Fish was far too salty. Spent nearly £50 and wasn’t even offered a bag – when I asked, I was told it’s 10p, but I didn’t have any cash on me. Regardless, I still wasn’t given one and was left carrying four hot paper taps by hand. Really poor service and not worth the money.

Let’s talk about truth in advertising. The menu at The Haddock’s End suggests a classic, no-nonsense fish and chips experience. What you actually get is a masterclass in à la carte deconstruction that would make a Parisian minimalist blush. The first clue that things were afoot was ordering. You don't order "fish and chips." You order the fish, and then, in a separate transaction that carries the emotional weight of buying a car warranty, you order the chips. This clever unbundling transforms a £9 small cod into a £13 meal before you've even glanced at the mushy peas. For Perranporth, that's less a price point and more a dare. Now, the main event. Our two cods presented a fascinating culinary paradox. One, presumably fresh from the fryer, had surrendered its crispness to the oil, arriving with a soggy, greasy coating that felt… personal. The other, having taken a contemplative journey in the hot box, had achieved a texture so dry it could have been used to blot ink. It was a tragic tale of two fishes, both meeting their end at Haddock's End. The chips, for their premium, separate-entry fee, were the very definition of mediocre. Perfectly acceptable if they were a side thought, but as a headline act you pay extra for, they lacked the courage to be either notably crisp or fluffily substantial. The staff were efficient, which is the professional way of saying they ensured the correct fish made it to the correct box without unnecessary frills like smiles. In summary, The Haddock’s End is aptly named. After this experience, I can confirm it’s certainly the end of the line for the haddock, and frankly, felt like a bit of a bum end for my wallet. I’ve had more satisfying encounters with a freezer aisle packet and my own air fryer. A profound disappointment.

Really lovely cafe for breakfast! Affordable with good portion size. We met up with family that were on holiday here over the last few days and we all enjoyed our breakfast.

I am so pleased we discovered Ice and Bites! A wide range of pasty fillings. All the ones we had within our party of 5 were fab. It was on our last day whe we tried the ice cream...I really wish we had chosen to visit before for an ice cream. Bloomin delicious! Staff are really lovely and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely return! 😊

Would give them 4.5 stars as the Mexican bean and fake meat pasty didn't have any fake meat in it! However, their pastry is just so flaky, crisp and delicious I have to give them a 5 rather than 4. We tried steak + stilton, Mexican bean, Bengali beef and lamb + mint. They were sooooo good and the pastry was the best we had tried throughout our 1 week Cornwall trip.

As someone who girlfriend is coeliac its always difficult while away to find tasty gluten free produce luckily this little gem was around. They have gluten free cornish,cheese and vegetable pasties and sausage roll. My partner rather enjoyed the cornish pasties (£7.80)

we came to perranporth for a short visit before leaving our holiday in Newquay. We came to ice and bites for an ice cream, the lady who served us was very friendly, happy and chatty, the ice cream was lovely and definitely value for money 👌👌

I took my friend on her first trip to Perranporth and told her that ice and bites has the best pasty’s in perranporth. I persuaded her to try the English breakfast pasty as I always get this and the team behind the counter were really friendly and we had a joke about being 50/50 on them. I’m pleased to Report that she enjoyed the pasty. As we all did say in front of the rock on perranporth beach. Thanks team Ice n bites, great pasty’s as always and you’ve gained some new fans too!

I’d always used to buy a pasty from the bakery when in Perranporth, probably because that’s what my parents always used to do, so I figured I’d carry on doing the same. I’ve just spent three days down in Perranporth, and my wife and I bought a pasty from Ice and Bites as the bakery was closed. They were absolutely delicious, I had beef and Stilton, and my wife had the cheese one. They were so nice in fact, we went back every day for another 🤣. The staff were very friendly, and as well as their pasty’s, we tried their ice creams too, purely for research purposes of course - also amazing 🤩 My advice to you is, don’t assume a bakery is the best place for a pasty. The best are at Ice and Bites 👍🏻

Wow Lady serving was very friendly, polite and happy. Order number 12 Chicken chow mein wad beautiful, cooked perfect, full of flavour and noodles perfect. Sweet and sour chicken balls was again cooked perfect, thin batter that was perfectly crisp on outside and fluffy inside with chicken cooked perfect throughout and sauce full of flavour.(prob best ever had) Salt and pepper ribs... Where do I start!!!probably best I've ever had, packed with meat compared to usual takeaways being just bone with a scrape of meat on side, flavour was beyond words amazing. Curry sauce was lovely and full of flavour. Chips very nice and salt and pepper chips lovely. Price very good. The portions was huge, especially the chips , could of fed 3-4 adults. Will be my go to Chinese when in Cornwall. Thank you for a lovely meal

This is the worst Chinese take out we have ever had. Partner was adamant he wanted Chinese takeout for dinner and the other place was closed on Tuesdays, so I tried not to notice the grubby state of the front area, desperately hoping the kitchen was better looked after. And counting on the fact we have cast iron stomachs 🤞 The woman on the front desk was not particularly welcoming or patient. We were told our order would take 25minutes which is perfectly reasonable but it was done much quicker. The portion size was what I would expect, and it was all hot apart from the chips and chicken balls. The chow mein was not like any I've had before, quite unpleasant odd taste and slimey texture, the chicken balls for the sweet&sour weren't cooked properly. To be fair, the ribs were actually really really good, I wish we had just ordered a load of them and nothing else, everything else was barely edible. Most of it looked and tasted as though it had been made days ago and just microwaved on order. Hugely disappointing. Terrible waste of money.

I always go to Jade House for a Chinese take out. The owners are both very friendly and helpful. The food is lovely, always hot, the best Pancake rolls ever. It's best to order by phone. They let you know how long it will be. People have said in reviews that they have had to wait....that has never happened to me in all the years I have been going there. I have occasionally had Chinese away from home ....none of them come close to Jade House.

Went here tonight whilst on holiday and very unimpressed with the whole experience from start to finish. Went in to order and was told we needed to give a menu number, the lady behind the counter was very uninterested in taking our order, kept making us wait while she answered the phone. She was behind a sheet of very damaged plastic and could barely hear what she was saying and visibility was poor the plastic was dirty looking and very scratched, we received our food after about 25 minutes, the reception/waiting area was filthy and unpleasant. The food was nice not amazing and the portion size was very poor for the price we brought 4x meals and to be honest we all thought it looked like we had ordered a child’s meal. Shame as this was our final evening in Cornwall, Cornwall is an amazing place. This Chinese is not. I would recommend going elsewhere.

Food is good however, you may be told 20 or 30 minutes until collection time but as we're local we know to add at least 10 minutes to that. So what we dont appreciate is arriving 10 minutes after the time we're told to then have to wait another 40 minutes and the response from the cook "you haven't paid for it yet so if you dont want to wait for it, then dont" whilst in front of you, theyre still taking orders and saying it'll be 30 minutes!! Business owners who clearly don't care and definitely dont for the local business. And

We have always used Jade House,since the day they opened. But unfortunately tonight’s take away was tasteless yes tasteless, special fried rice dish, was the worst l’ve had, not sure who was on cooking duties tonight? . But my wife’s takeaway dish was,Cantonese style with egg fried rice. This was also tasteless, sorry to say we were very disappointed . I have rang to say we were both not satisfied with our meals 😡

The food was beyond atrocity. I’ve never ever seen such a hard and black burger in my life. It looked as if it was days old. Extremely unfriendly and poor customer service from staff. Walked in with the lady just coming off of her phone. Unpleasant behaviour in terms of handling with customer. We spent money on the food expecting to get a seat, instead we had to stand up and wait over 15 minutes for our food. The atmosphere was extremely run-down; carpets on the brink of peeling off the floor, messes lying around on multiple tables. Extremely unprofessional overall. I am disgusted and I think the place should be shut down (it already looks like it’s shutting down). If you like disgusting food though, this is the place for you.

Left quite disappointed with our food today, waited possibly 5 minutes for anyone to come and serve me, when she came out she did apologise but not the warmest of service. Got back to the car to realise we were missing the mushy peas from the order. A lot of the chips were hard and unpleasant to eat I had to chuck them away, onion rings were ok but not great, my husbands fish was overcooked (not burnt), my burger was ok. Wasn’t able to take them back as our ticket was about to run out on the carpark. Wouldn’t go back again.

Chips are overdone and my husbands steak pie was disgusting and very overdone. Nothing we ordered was fresh!! Unfriendly, probably because they were close to closing! If this is how they serve food to paying customers then I would shut down...permanently if you can't be bothered! Don't take people's good money if you can't return good food.... EDIT RESPONSE TO OWNERS REPLY Your response says a lot more about you than it does about the countless bad reviews your business gets. Why should anyone need to return their food if you say its "cooked fresh" then there would be no need to return or complain. You know how long your food is sat there before you serve it up to customers. The pictures don't lie, it is disgusting. Maybe it's time for an environment health food agency visit....the state of the place!

Server seemed quite rude, the food portions were shocking for the price, the chips looked like they were the very last burnt batch of the day, the bun was hard and rubbery and when we got back realised we were a chips short! Also had to stand outside the shop to wait for the food whilst it was cold and windy, even though they have a seating area inside that they had shut off. Would not recommend

8 of us had fish and chips and we were served quickly. All staff very polite. Fish and chips delicious. Chips were fresh (best chips we've had) and the fish was lovely. We were even treated to try a new sauce to accompany our fish which waw a special touch. Lovely finish to our holiday together. Thank you 😊

When we arrived we were told to wait for an indoor seat, even though that there were plenty of spaces to sit. The place seemed very understaffed and disorganised. There was a lady taking in all the orders and was very clearly rushed off her feet and tired. She looked to be the only person actually doing anything compared to the man. He needs to be helping. The place was outdated, and the toilets, based on other reviews, are always out of order. I do understand the difficulties of owning and maintaining places like this and thank everyone who was involved in making our meal. Also when I was looking at the reviews, the boss was answering in a very unkind manner. Not the type of image I would want to be portraying. On the other hand, the food was very high-quality and was worth the wait. The prices are a little high and could do with lowering. Overall, it was a good place to dine in for dinner but they need to work on better staff and a better image that people will see.

Came for food while on holiday. I had high hopes as the place looked aesthetically great and smelled amazing. Unfortunately the service given was far from good. There was no service with a smile, it was just blunt words. I had no problem with standing outside waiting as obviously they need to space inside for other customers but it took longer than I was told. Once I was given my food the order was incorrect with the burger having salad and mayo on. I always ask for plain burgers as I'm allergic to some food. When it was taken back we were accused of lying and the servers got very aggressive. Absolutely no customer service skills from anybody who worked there and only when told they would receive contact from the ombudsman did they begin to provide "good" customer service. I appreciate them eventually sorting the meal out but it should have never gotten to that point.

Amazing tasting food! Highly recommend garlic chicken! Good sized dips with poppadoms too! Took a little while after getting poppadoms before they took our order but other than that super delicious and highly recommend! One child doesn't eat poppadoms ...... Seating six of us on a Saturday night without a booking we thought we would be turned away. Kids loved it too. We played eye spy and enjoyed our food, talked about our day. Kids are well behaved but made to feel welcome too :) thank you! Let us take some leftovers away no charge for takeaway tubs, unlike some places

One of the best lamb madras I've had. The quality of the lamb and chicken meat we had was exceptional. Very efficient telephone ordering....no waiting. Definitely reccomend and will use again.

First time visiting this restaurant & Cornwall. Was looking for a Halal Indian Restaurant and this place came up. I called the restaurant only an hour before closing and they where happy to accommodate. The owner and his team always had a smile on their faces and was clearly known by the regular customers, we was asked on numerous occasions if the food was good and if everything was OK. The food was amazing and the service was exceptional. I'll definitely be visiting this place again on my 2nd family trip to Cornwall. If your looking for a Halal Indian, look no further. 5 Stars.

I recently dined at Masalla Tandoori in Perranporth and had an excellent experience. The food was absolutely delicious, showcasing a perfect blend of authentic flavors and fresh ingredients. Each dish was prepared to perfection, from the savory starters to the mouth-watering main courses. The service was top-notch, with the staff being attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. They made us feel welcome and ensured we had everything we needed for a great dining experience. Overall, Masalla Tandoori exceeded my expectations in both food quality and service. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fantastic Indian dining experience.

We managed to snag the last table in a very busy restaurant. Despite being rushed off their feet the staff were all smiles and great service. The food was AMAZING and we will definitely be back.

We decided to use the Seiners for our wedding on the 19th September and we were so happy we chose here. The whole day was amazing. The staff, service and food were exceptional. And the location, well what can I say. We’ve already booked future celebrations because it was soo good. Huge thanks to Lisa and the team for making it very special.

Really enjoyed it here. The staff were so friendly. Food was really good. We had 2 roast dinners, fish and chips and nuggets and chips. Our son raved about the nuggets, everyone else enjoyed their food.

We have stayed here before and returned. It was not a disappointment, rooms were great (you have to have the sea view) it's worth the extra. Breakfast was good, great choice. Food was very good in the restaurant and bar. Sunday dinners were outstanding,

Our room was clean and the bed comfortable. We didn't hear any other guests, and whilst our room overlooked the terrace, people didn't stay out late so there wasn't a lot of noise. The staff took good care of us, and both dinner in the pub and the included breakfast were great. We booked a double and were given a family room. The downside to this is the bunk bed took up most of the floor space, so we needed to step over our luggage to get around the room. For just 1-2 people, definitely ask for a double room. The only other downside was that the wifi wasn't great, we measured it at 8mbs down but only 0.5mbs up, so OK for streaming but not a video call.

Wow.Perfect Little hotel. Just stayed for 3 days for my sister in law's wedding with the family. Everything taken care of and all looked after by Lisa, nigel and the team. Great organisation,great service, absolutely amazing food , awesome views and picture perfect setting. Cannot thank them enough for a wonderful time. From the moment we arrived we received a warm welcome and were greeted with a friendly smile and chat from all the staff. We had a lovely meal here for my mums 50th birthday and it was amazing! The mains were delicious, cooked perfectly. When the deserts came out the staff surprised my mum with singing happy birthday and had personalised her dessert with candles and artificial flowers, the desserts were also delicious. We will be definitely visiting here again! Thank you to all the staff that made my mums special evening one to remember :)

Okay so we only had a Sunday roast!! We didn’t stay… although it has a great location! We are a local couple and dipped in today for our first Sunday roast of the fall. Well we both had the Roast beef and it was incredible! Probably the most tender top side of beef I’ve ever had out for a roast! And the roast Potatoes rival most every joint I’ve had a Sunday roast in. They were big and crispy with a naughty beef dipping like taste! Desert was the chocolate Mousse! That was so good it should be illegal! The bar and restaurant is delightful. With a great atmosphere and I felt like I was in the under deck of an old galleon ship! Proper cool. Staff were great too! Even the younger lot had great service skills and check back care! The beers of Tap look great! Reel Ales and lagers and a 0.0 Guinness tap! Super welcoming bar staff that care about making you feel at home. All round! Great experience!

We had lovely breakfasts and praised the quick service. Unfortunately at our time of visit another group were dining in with a dog that constantly yapped loudly, which was extremely unpleasant but not reflective of the café. Clearly a family run business and I am pleased we ate there. Food wasn’t terribly priced - £11.50 on average for each person including a drink.

If you’re looking for a truly unforgettable dining experience, this is the place — mostly because you’ll spend the whole ride home wondering how it’s still in business. The chips? A masterclass in supermarket freezer cuisine — straight from the bargain aisle to your plate, still tasting of “just defrosted.” The sausages were cooked with such dedication that they’d make perfect cricket bats. The staff? Honestly, it’s like they drew straws to see who had to turn up that day. Zero enthusiasm, zero effort, and about as much warmth as a tax return. The highlight of the service was the lady behind the counter perfecting her expression of complete confusion — it’s almost performance art. And don’t even think about grabbing a takeaway to sit outside on the benches. Oh no. Apparently, the sacred rule here is that you may only eat in public view if your food has been ceremoniously delivered on a plate. In short, if you enjoy being underwhelmed, overcharged, and slightly scolded, this cafe is an absolute must visit.

Lovely view of the beach, but the food is mediocre at best. Pair that with tourist prices and poor service, and you get the Dolphin Cafe. We arrived 10 minutes before lunch service began and asked if we could order drinks first, then food once service started. The lady behind the counter didn’t like the idea and initially refused, saying it would confuse them and everything had to be ordered at once. When I mentioned to the missus that we could look for another place, they changed their mind. Unfortunately, the drinks didn’t arrive until 25 minutes later at the same time as the food. One of the four drinks, a tea, was forgotten and came without sugar. When we asked for sugar, we were met with a puzzled look and told it should be on the tables, which it wasn’t. If you're just looking for a spot to sit and enjoy a drink, this will do. But if you're after good food, there are better options in Perranporth.

The food was fair to good, the coffee was very mediocre. The worst part is the customer service. They really need to get some training. The greeting was brusk and unwelcoming. I don’t need to have cash welcomed rammed down my throat, 3 other customers in the short time I was in there had the same issues and were discussing it outside while we ate. The price is good for what you get. If it wasn’t for the location this business would be in a world of difficulty, far greater than their credit card charges would create. To be specific the lady of the house was very pleasant. Her husband needs to take another role in the business.

Overall, it's as expected, a local cafe ran by an older couple. The food is decent. But they had loads of weird rules. You can't sit outside if you pay for take away. They don't want to take care payments, but won't take a £50. You just order from the outside if you want take away, even though it's the same people and tile from the inside.

Let down. This time last year beautiful hand cut chips. This year however, pre made frozen chips from the cash and carry. A chip shop that can’t make chips. Still a great location. And an echo the weird rule about not eating your take away on their picnic benches.

Overpriced food for what you get. Service was ok and the big breakfast was served. Average quality sausages, bacon below average and fried bread instead of toast. Hash browns okish, then eggs were good. Tea not bad, soft drinks very expensive. If you want a below average breakfast at an expensive price go here. Also the chips had been redone.

Definitely recommend here for some seriously good Thai food! Lovely owners/workers too. One of the best panang curries we’ve ever had.

Absolutely lovely. I live in Perranporth and just wanted to try something new. I've been to Thailand and the food is incredible, as is this place. Warm and friendly staff that you can tell, care about they are doing! Not greasy rice, tasty ingredients. Definitely give it a go.

I never leave reviews but for this experience I felt I had to. Was unsure what to have to eat tonight, a bit fed up with the usual chippy or pizza so the wife said she fancied a Chinese but after reading the awful reviews we decided against it. We then spotted this little Thai takeaway and I have to say it was absolutely fantastic. Everything was perfect from ordering to extremely friendly service on collection. I can highly recommend the Thai red curry with chef's special chilli rice, stunning. Thank you 😊

We were undecided on dinner and on walking past noticed what looked like a nice Thai and on ordering with welcoming service after 20 minutes sat in their small seating area enjoying an amazing meal. The coconut rice, green Thai curry with vegetable pancake rolls also Thai rice noodles left us wanting more. This family run business is a jewel & Perranporth you are very lucky to have them.

Amazing food and service! Definitely recommend visiting if you're in the Perranporth area for authentic thai dishes, served with a smile. They also have amazing milkshakes for those hot summer days.

PIRAN THAI - Where the Veg is Fresh, the Sauce is Magic, and the Staff Deserve a Round of Applause PIRAN THAI in Perranporth is an absolute little star of a Thai takeaway. You walk in thinking, “I’ll just grab a quick dinner,” and you walk out feeling like you’ve just been personally fed by someone’s lovely Thai grandma with a black belt in flavour. The food? Sublime. The vegetables were so fresh I half expected them to still be growing. The sauce, oh, the sauce, proper tasty, full of depth, and good enough to consider drinking straight out of the container if no one’s watching. The noodles were spot-on too, that perfect mix of soft and a little bite, with just the right amount of sauce clinging to them. But what really makes PIRAN shine is the service. The staff are quick, friendly, and somehow make you feel like the most important customer of the day, even though they’re clearly busy keeping everyone happy. The whole experience was efficient and warm, like they’ve mastered the art of takeaway hospitality. So if you’re after fresh, flavour-packed Thai food and brilliant service in Perranporth, PIRAN is your place. Just don’t be surprised when you find yourself planning your next order before you’ve even finished this one.

A little takeaway which provides the most delicious Thai food. Friendly service. You can eat in if you like, but the space is small. Highly recommend.

Very good food , good value for money , nice tapas food , I would recommend sitting inside due to the noise of the main road but other than that everything was nice and they were able to fit us in outside at the last minute

Really good menu choice and food was very tasty. Although very busy the wait for food was good considering how many different dishes we chose! Friendly waiters and nice to see chef/owner pop out of the kitchen with a plate of food. Lighting makes the restaurant and exterior look very pretty. In all a really good place to enjoy some excellent food, well done!

After our original plans for dinner changed, we ended up eating at Hanleys and it was amazing!! The food was delicious. Every tapas dish that we ordered was so tasty. Tori, the lady that served us was brilliant. Fab customer service and a great sense of humour. She really made our visit and looked after us. It’s just a shame that we live in Oxford so can’t eat there regularly. Thank you for a great night!!!

Lovely home made food and great service will be returning in our 2nd week off holidays. Worth the extra pennies to the other places to eat in Perranporth

Second visit last night, thoroughly enjoyed the choice, presentation and the quality of the food. We have a vegetarian as part of the group and she was well catered for. The waitress was lovely, providing excellent service and extremely friendly. Enjoyed it so much that we are returning for a birthday meal.

We wanted to try a local pub while staying down in Cornwall and the New Inn was only a few minutes away. It’s a pretty nice little place! The selection of draught beers was decent—though if I’m being picky, the lager options could have been better. We had a Sunday roast: I went for the beef, my partner had the nut roast, and the kids ordered the buttermilk chicken and chips. The roast was good, with excellent vegetables, so no complaints there. On a side note, there were a couple of flies in the vinegar, which we mentioned to the staff, but it wasn’t a big issue. One of the highlights was the children’s play area—it kept our two entertained throughout the meal.

The New Inn in Goonhavern is a superb pub that perfectly captures the charm of a traditional Cornish inn whilst offering plenty of room and comfort. Located right at the top of the stunning Saints Trail, which leads you down to Perranporth, it's an ideal stop for both locals and visitors. As you step inside, you’re greeted by a cosy, characteristic interior that feels welcoming and relaxed thanks, in no small part, to the brilliantly friendly staff. Also lovely to find a decent pool table! An endangered species these days. The food here is a real highlight, especially the chef’s specials. The pies are fantastic, featuring varied and exciting fillings that truly elevate the experience. Each pie boasts a flaky, golden crust encasing rich and flavourful ingredients. It’s comfort food done right. The pub quiz is the best one locally, with a genuinely friendly atmosphere and well-organised format. It’s hosted by a lively quizmaster who keeps the evening engaging and ticking along at a decent pace. Outside is a spacious beer garden and well-maintained playground, better than anything else you will find locally and a real sun trap. Parking is a breeze, thanks to a large car park where you simply enter your number plate into the iPad by the bar—no complicated systems to navigate. Ignore the previous negative comments on this as they are outdated.

Went for a Sunday roast with the family. Friendly staff, very knowledgeable and helpful. We ordered the roast which has two meat options. Presentation was impeccable. Flavours and textures were amazing and hands down the best roast I’ve had for a long time. Highly recommend this place and we wish we found it at the start of our holiday not the end. As this pub is on our doorstep I really wanted to give it a go. But sadly after two poor experiences here I felt compelled to write this review. We went a few weeks ago and a roast took over 40 minutes, we decided to put that down to a bad day and this evening took my parents here for dinner. The food took nearly an hour to arrive, which isn't acceptable but I would have let it go if the food had been good. The meat eaters all had a good meal but my pizza was one of the worst I've ever had. Sadly I won't be returning.

Passed the new inn many times while holidaying in and around perranporth and went in for the first time today also being dog friendly is good for us …….. absolutely spot on friendly and went out of their way to find us a table even though we hadn’t booked ( booking though is recommended) even though they were busy we didn’t have a long wait and the food was extremely good and plenty of it my partner had the beef and it was tender and giant Yorkie pud , I had the nut roast and it was the best I’ve had no lie ! We will without doubt be back and before the end of this holiday. Not forgetting how reasonable the prices are in an age where everything is on the way up I consider the food, service and friendly staff worth every penny and more thank you for fitting us in 👍

Shammeee! Nice little pub, but the wait on food has been insane both time we have tried. Not a great deal of people in, but the chief clearly prepares the food check by check, not by meal like normal. Means both times we have tried to have a meal here we have been waiting over an hour. Making matters worse the servers clearly have been told to make up excuses for it.

Popped in for the quiz with friends, two of whom have moved in locally and use the Inns as their local. Well kept beer and tasty food was enjoyed as was a fun quiz session. Recommend popping in if your passing you won't be disappointed.

Me and my mother went here on the 1st of July. The service to start off with us and another family were waiting at the entrance to be seated for around 10mins as we saw staff lingering about the place. We were taken to our table and then greeted by a lovely waiter who had apparently been on the job first day 1 hour in and he was struggling with the ordering system but got there in the end. As I work in hospitality as a chef and front of house I think that letting a newbie off 1 hour in isn't how they should be trained they should be buddied up with someone through out the night shadowing them learning visually. Anyways me and my mom ordered popcorn chicken and the mushrooms as starters the mushrooms were tasteless and rubbery straight from a supermarket probably, no presentation what's so ever and what is it with the small paper sauce pots, it doesn't look great at all and the salad was dry not washed no cucumber,tomato or onions. I had the popcorn chicken and I might as well have gone out shot a seagull and had that and it would have been tastier than this chicken. No seasoning what so ever and dry as ever. Coming to mains I had the full rack of ribs and they looked okay on the outside but the inside still pink and raw tasted like a burnt without even being burnt probably being cooked on a grill that hasn't been cleaned in ages. After having some ribs I had to stop eating as I felt uneasy. The fries were just a waste of space and the coleslaw was in the paper sauce pots only a bite full worth and tasteless like everything else. My mom had the steak that was okay but tasted again burnt without it being burnt. Honestly I'm not surprised this place has a 3.5 rating. Most likely won't be coming back to this place.

The food was good despite nearly a 45-minute wait for food. The waitress (shift leader) who served us tonight was very good and knowledgeable. However, the cleanliness of the restaurant was disappointing in areas. Seating near the bi-folding doors had large amounts of cobwebs and even bird droppings on the floor and on the inside of the glass.

Would not recommend in the slightest; the food is average but overpriced for what you receive; the staff are disinterested and rude; service is incredibly slow - on our second visit, we had finished our Sunday dinner (which was missing several items) before our drinks had arrived, my partner had to chase the waitress to see where our drinks were; and our breakfast on Friday morning took nearly an hour to arrive and was also missing items when it finally came. An incredible shame that there is no other proper restaurant on site - don't waste your time, head into Perranporth town instead for decent food and decent service.

Interior looks amazing but it's the food and customer service lets the place down. Some of the staff seem like they can't be arsed and don't come back to your table to check on you. Other tables complaining about their food too. Food is so not fresh and obviously just reheated. No wonder why the place was empty on a Saturday night. The chicken tasted like the water fed defrosted type, so a few dishes got sent back. Just wished we had read the previous reviews...Dont waste your money!

Wouldn’t recommend in the slightest because of the staffs lack of enthusiasm. Staff all looked like they’d just lost a fight with their alarm clocks. Asked if we could come in for drinks and got, “yeah, the bar’s there,” as our grand welcome. It’s like serving customers was a punishment. Won’t be in a hurry back. Shame really because the place could be really nice if the team actually cared.

Probably being polite with my star rating but of some of the negatives I have the steak I had was nice and perfect but it started with ordering cocktails alcoholic for me and my mum and non alcoholic for my sister apparently she can’t have it because the glass required is a cocktail glass that’s age restricted which is obviously bull as we order non alcoholic cocktails for my sister all the time at various places and this is the first I’ve heard of that but to make it even more ridiculous we ordered her a strawberry lemonade which came in a “WHISKEY GLASS” how does it make sense. To add to all that chicken was dry as hell, frozen chips ok not too bad but for the price I would expect something more fresh. Staff seem uninterested in service other reviews say same thing, it wasn’t busy restaurant was just about half full but we done with our meals and waited 10+ minutes for service to order pudding. Onion rings were terrible taste like the over fried bits when cleaning your frying out. Again steak, egg, gammon was perfect 👌 and my sister loved her Sunday roast my mums hunter chicken was dry and hardly had any BBQ sauce which is sin for a hunters chicken. After it all it was £90 not worth it, £50 for the same meal at a hungry horse restaurant don’t go here while on holiday here go out for a meal at a nicer restaurant.

Waited at the front to be seated, we weren’t even greeted with a hello. The waitron told us that there was no table service during lunch. Had to order via qr code. Considering this was the start to our holiday, it is disappointing that this is the way of hospitality? The food was ok. If you can go elsewhere, you should.

Pasties looked hot and so tasty and that’s what they were. We bought a steak and a chicken one. Both filled with large chunks of meat. Just what I’d expect. And very friendly person serving. Recommended by the butcher to go to this pasty shop rather than the bakery. Five stars 🌟

Sold me a veg pastie full of chicken. Staff were really good in trying to fix it being polite and offering a swap or refund hence the extra star.

Cheese pasty disgusting, chicken pasty disgusting, steak pasty disgusting. All three inedible and as loath as I am to waste food, got thrown. Huge amounts of baked up, burnt layers of fatty pastry. Some of the top pastry completely hard like biscuit. Tasted like the pasties were several days old and had been rebaked. Hardly any filling and what there was had no flavour. We were travelling or else I would have taken them back. The photos do not do justice to how dreadful they were. Had to stop at services and buy alternatives for lunch. I'd sooner have bought a Ginster's and as someone from Cornwall, I never thought I'd ever say that! Go to any other place in Perranporth for pasty's, or else make sure you sit by a bin. I can't believe how they ever get rated 5 star. Seems a bit odd that they get 1 star or 5 star reviews doesn't it? I begrudged even giving 1 star!

As others have said greasy pastry thick lump of meat mostly uncooked bed very little Spice/ or flavouring, have had many better pasties.
