I recently had the pleasure of dining at May Tree Restaurant, and I can confidently say it exceeded my expectations on every level. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm, inviting, and tastefully decorated — it was perfect. The service was just as impressive. Gill and Lucie (who were working there) were super friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming without being overbearing. They were so polite. You can really tell the kitchen and staff working there takes pride in what they serve and how they serve by serving customers with care and dignity. Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates quality food and great hospitality!

Superb breakfast, lunch and dinner. Staff are so friendly and add a personal touch especially when staying next door for a few nights. Food is excellent and reasonable even with the super deals they have running. Good range of vegan and vegetarian options. Excellent drinks including draft and cocktails.

Family and kid friendly arrive just as breakfast was finishing and the team were super accommodating. No booking or notice we were coming. Can't remember names but everyone on shift September 29th 2025 my family thank you very much x

Under new management Rules have changed. Dogs no longer allowed inside so we ordered and sat outside . Would not let my dog drink out the one and only water bowl it was disgusting and according to my husband so were the gents toilets. Waited almost hour for our meal and it started to get chilly so my husband went in and asked if we could have the sweets to go no they didn’t have anything to put them in we waited another 15 minutes on our sweet and decided to leave before they served it as it was now 19.10 and getting cold and we had been there since 17.20 NOT RECOMMENDED FOR DOG OWNERS

We had a lovely evening and felt everything was great. Louise who was serving us was friendly, funny and very good at what she does. Would definitely recommend.

Nice restaurant, the meal deal is very cheap 2 mains for 11.99! The starter portions could be a bit more on the plate, but i can really recommend the spicy chicken burger, very tasty!! I also wanna add that the waiters are very friendly and fast in service. If you add more food on the plate it will be 5 stars.

Disappointed children. We have been a few times for breakfast and our kids love to have a warmed up chocolate croissant. This time however the microwave was condemned and not in use. We will not be back as it seems the colleague wasn't too bothered about losing the microwave and did not assure us there would be a replacement microwave.

Excellent food, service and the best burger ever ! The pictures speak for themselves. No available seats the day we went but they also sit you and serve you at the pub across the road. Super fast service and the food was just amazing ! Easily pay by phone and in minutes the food is on your table :)

Wanted a burger after a busy day out. The diner is quite small and most of the tables had already been reserved but we were shown to a small cubicle which was fine for two. Might be worth booking ahead unless you're happy to takeaway. Staff were charming - efficient and friendly without being in your face. Food was good and portions more than fair. I had cheeseburger and fries, Paul had chicken burger and onion rings. Both enjoyed our meal. Some of the soft drinks were on the pricey side but there were cheaper alternatives so that's a minor moan. Recommended.

Amazing gem. The burgers are unique and very good. The milkshakes are to die for. The atmosphere and people are fantastic. Whenever we go to Cornwall we make sure to make a small detour! Expect to be in a long food coma afterwards… or you can take their mini burger to make some space for desert!

Awesome American diner style food. We had the classic hot dog, blue cheese chilli tater tots, cheese fries, grilled cheese with bacon, buffalo fire burger, coke floats and a milkshake. Lovely staff, the food was excellent, decent prices, wish we had time to go again before we go home!

Staff friendly and welcoming. We hadn't booked a table but they found us one straight away. Good selection of food. Burgers , hot dogs , cheese toasties and chicken with huge selection of sides and sauces and dips. Milkshakes very popular and also do takeaway.

THERE ARE NOT ENOUGH STARS!! 5 out of 5 does not cut it... we are talking 25 or maybe 50 out of 5... I'm writing this now still sat at the table because it is THAT good... The Burgers are world changing, they could bring world peace... sit the World Leaders in a room, bring them Boo Koos, BAM, World Peace!! The Milkshakes are the Perfect way to round off the meal, Plentiful, tasty, some incredible concoctions, and the price is totally worth it. I will do the 3 and a half hours drive from Bristol again just to sit here and witness culinary magic! Boo Koos, you've smashed it!!

Went here for my birthday, the food was the best I’ve had and the service was amazing. I got the regular sized burger and chips and was so full by the end. Unknowingly, after dinner they gave me a small bday cake which was a great surprise! The rustic, American atmosphere truly adds to the experience.

Excellent food , seasonal, much of it grown on site or using high quality local suppliers. Innovative soft drinks (seasonal cordials/shrubs/kombuchas) as well as cider made on site and good wine list. Goats curd confit garlic and broad bean toast was excellent as well as the pizzas and salami / cod’s roe. High quality baked goods too available to buy from the counter (blood orange cake was excellent) but don’t hang around as they seem to sell out fast! Service a little on the slow side but it was clearly a busy service on a hot day (one meal was missed and was quite delayed but was taken off the bill, thank you). Beautiful courtyard and off the beaten track. Dog friendly. Would recommend and return.

Food was superb, place was beautiful & staff were so lovely, I had requested my menu be 'pregnancy friendly' & they were so attentive. Was a real treat that finished off our holiday perfectly. Just disappointed I didn't get to try out their pantrys menu during the day, but I have a feeling we'll be back again next summer to sample more!

Visited as a couple in June 2022. Fabulous food and service. Seasonal and local produce excellently cooked and served. Some unusual and very nice sustainable wines. Very good experience. Loved it.

Booked on-line do not aware it was now a fixed price menu, what a fantastic experience. Love the focus on sustainable foods, chef canoe out to tell us all what was on the menu, added to the whole experience. Congratulations to the team. Highly recommended.

What a wonderful dinner New Yard gave 9 of us . Delicious fresh fare - excellent explanations of menu, great menu choices which appealed to each of us & service was excellent . Thoroughly recommend . Oh & the restaurant has really light & pretty decor . Well done New Yard & thank you !

Delicious tasting menu in a beautiful intimate setting. This was one of our favourite meals in the Falmouth area. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was impeccable. Will definitely be back when we are down there next.

We had a wonderful Sunday Roast here after attending a foraging event the day before. The food was absolutely delicious and all the staff were friendly and enthusiastic about food being served here. Well worth visiting if you’re in the area!

Lovely meal, with spectacular entrance of the sizzling Tawa platter. Excellent chutney tray and lovely, light naan. Staff very attententive. We would go again if in the area.

I saw the place on tiktok and the customer promoted it and spoke highly of the place, I came all the way from London for my birthday and had dinner in the area. Really good experience, the wait is only 15 minutes for 5 currys. The 6 hour drive was worth it. I'm surprised that there isn't a queue outside for the food. Truly a birthday I won't forget and a place that I will come to in the future.

This is my go-to Indian restaurant when visiting Helston. The food is always great as is the service. The garlic chilli chicken is Hot!

Really disappointed. Ruined my valentines day! Told me to be at the restaurant at 7.30  had me waiting for an hour with no communication finally got my food at 8.30 no discount was given even after I asked. The food was not a good standard will not be returning. Not the way me and my partner wanted to spent our special night together will not be returning

EXCEPTIONAL service and FANTASTIC food. The staff is amazing and extremely friendly. The restaurant is very clean and inviting. It was so easy to park. The food was delicious. The prices are more than fair. We aren't from this area and have been restaurant hopping and this was by far the best experience we've had. I highly recommend it. Next time we're around, we'll definitely be back!

Takeaway! The madras was absolutely rancid! I’d be embarrassed to say that was a representation of an Indian madras! Shockingly bad and the naan a stodgy mess! Honestly we spent £50 on a takeaway and my food and my wife’s a disgusting mess😡 I’m surprised it’s got the reviews it has the experience we had food wise SHOCKINGLY BAD!

I ordered from here as a tourist in the area and food wise I wasn't disappointed. There's limited parking around the restaurant so be mindful of that if you're collecting. My food was just waiting on a nearby table when I collected, would have been better if it was kept in a warm cupboard. I realised when we got back to our accommodation that there were 3 missing pickle portions for my poppadoms which weren't worth going back for considering it was a 20 minute drive away so that was quite annoying when you've spent the best part of £100.

Asked the Restaurant if they would deliver to Coverack for a big order, Restaurant agreed took the order and advised 1 hr delivery. 1 hr later the food arrived hot and freshly cooked, all 10 people that ate there meals agreed that the food was lovely tasting and was one of the best take aways they have had.

The food was amazing ..fantastic service they delivered to St keverne aswell even though we were further than they would normally deliver...couldn't fault the service, will difnetley be ordering again

I find this Indian is the best this end of Cornwall by a long shot, having sampled many between Penzance to Helston back to Truro over the last 15 years. We run a holiday let also and reccomend this to our guests and all the feedback has been glowing. I would reccomend more as a takeaway than eat in as space is limited but consistently their food has been exceptionally good. This is coming from someone used to black country/birmingham curries.

Just spent a long weekend in Cornwall and ate here on our 2nd day for the evening. The kids enjoyed the food and drinks. I liked the biryani and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The children made a little mess but they were so nice about it. I'd recommend!

Dined mid-week and the restaurant was quiet. Friendly, warm welcome. Food was very nice and full of authentic flavours. The only let down was no alcohol licence but you can bring your own. Highly recommended for food and if you fancy a beer afterwards, there's plenty of pubs close by.

Just returned to CAST after three years and have honestly just had one of the most delicious lunches I’ve ever eaten. Pig’s head croquettes with homemade brown sauce, perfectly cooked and full of flavour. Roast lamb with saucy lentils and carrots that needed every last morsel mopped up with their homemade bread. Perfect cider mussels in wild garlic sauce. Truly next level. We didn’t have room for dessert, but are returning tomorrow for breakfast and maybe some cake to go!

Came here for breakfast, the first time since the new owners have taken it on and it was fantastic! Really top notch food, great service and a lovely vibe inside the historic building. This is hands down the best breakfast in the area (in my opinion) and very well priced for what you get. Will definitely have to come back for the evening menu!

Came here for a coffee and also dinner in the same day! Coffee was great - they use Yallah which I love. There was decent Wi-Fi and it’s a quiet space so would be perfect for work or study, although I don’t know if they endorse this. Dinner was delicious and reasonably priced. I had a lovely well made negroni and the house red which definitely delivered. We had the chorizo which was crispy on the outside and pleasantly soft on the inside, along with kalamata olives and fresh bread - all great. Following this we had tagine with a garlicky bean mash which was excellent. Confidently flavoured and a generous portion. The staff were polite, attentive, and helpful. I would absolutely recommend this spot for either a daytime or evening visit.

Stopped in on a Saturday late morning with my daughter, then went back 4days later with the missus. Had coffee/cake both times, nice homemade style bakes, very roomy & light, staff really very polite & happy to help. Would go back, made a nice change to go somewhere different & local.

Lovely people and lovely food! I had sourdough toast with roasted tomatoes, poachies, and toasted seed oil with a side of bacon and hash browns. Eggs cooked well. Toast was crisp, but you could cut through it (a common gripe of mine at breakfast places). Roasted tomatoes were pure umami. Will be back soon.

Alhamdolillah - Halal food Reasonable quality for area where halal choice is very limited We came for a staycation from up North (West Yorkshire ) Taste is Not same as Bradford B’ham and Manchester standards as up north but do-able in comparison to some of the curry dish places served in other close by areas - I.e other halal places we found in Camborne. We Used this place twice during our 4 night stay in Praze-an-Beeble ( 15-20mins away ) got the pizza and mixed grill Owner was friendly and chatty - and assured us it’s halal. Alhamdolillah This please also appears on the halal recommendation list by the Cornwall Muslim centre website

Me and my partner were visiting Cornwall and delighted to see a halal place. We ordered food from the app and it came to us hot. Everything was flavourful. We ordered chicken wrap and I wasnt expecting it to be so delicious and also it had generous quantity of meat to it, totally justified for the price. If we were to have another holiday here, this place would be our ultimate go to. Thank you guys for your service and for an amazing meal after a day of sight seeing.

I would not order from here. We came from out of town and decided to order from here. The chicken was cooked in oil that has not been cleaned for days. The pizza was undercooked. The chips were soggy. I would not recommend.

Doner Kebab - It was the worst I've ever had. The meat was over cooked and cut too thin a disaster chewy cheap doner meat.. The salad was a little bit of lettuce and onion with a green chili pepper, No carrot no cucumber no coleslaw no cabbage no tomato. the pitta bread was not fresh and the chili sauce was like a cheap ketchup with no heat. It went straight in the bin

One of the worst Chinese takeaway I’ve had in my life. Ordered four dishes which came to £28. The chicken chow main was slimy and the chicken and veg was just plonked on top of the soggy noodles- not mixed together and all together tasteless. Veg was mushy and limp with no crunch. The crispy chilli beef was bang average and overly sweet. Salt and pepper ribs were ok. Won’t be returning - ever!

Best £32 I've spent on a takeaway in years. The portions sizes are big, and are packed full of premium ingredients (ie tons of chicken and cashews in the C&C rather than them being padded out with veg). We had about 1/3rd of the meal left over - you certainly won't go hungry.

Chicken is dry and hard, nothing is freshly cooked all microwaved or reheated. The ribs were tiny and anaemic and the chicken ball were grim.

Ordered on friday evening, didnt seen overly busy Ribs unsauced, dry and overcooked, wontons, spring rolls and prawn toast soggy due to being served in a plastic tub. Crispy shredded beef extremely chewy however tasty sauce. Chow mein very bland. Egg fried rice very dry. Shall not be eating here again. One positive staff very friendly and order prepared very hastily ready for collection on time.

Visiting on holiday so had to rely on Google reviews on where to go to get food after a hectic first day - did not disappoint! Special chow mein, chilli beef, curry all very tasty. Cash only as a heads up.

Fresh, fast and at £1.99 for the lunch special you cant go wrong. Also has a good amount of seating if you choose to eat in. Staff and drivers are friendly and efficient, overall it is a good experience.

Server was a little abrupt and made me feel rushed as the menu was different to back home in the Midlands were where from on holiday, but the food was great as expected

I drove 20 minutes to collect my pizza, which I'd upgraded for the double decadence crust +3.00 and when I got there they said they'd sent my pizza out for delivery. It has my name on it? And then they proceed to offer me, someone else's pizza which was completely different on a standard crust, and offered a large dip as compensation for the mistake. The large dip doesn't even equate to the crust upgrade? Not to mention the pizza they then gave me was completely wrong and had mushrooms on it which I don't like. Every time I go in there they don't seem to care about customer service at all, and I think it must have changed hands because half the staff have changed also. It's only been since this change that I've had issues with this place

We were a little confused by the ordering system. In the end we ordered the bigger pizzas as they were cheaper on a deal. Thanks to the staff on the till.

Decent, But Nothing Special Whenever I visit a seaside town, my first stop is always fish and chips. It’s usually a generous portion at a reasonable price, and this time was no different. After researching online, this spot seemed to be one of the most well-known, so I decided to give it a try. The atmosphere and location are nice, and the staff are friendly. As you can see in the photo, the lemon was almost bigger than the fish! The portion was filling, with chips and mushy peas on the side. However, the mushy peas tasted like they had just been reheated from a pre-made batch, and overall, the meal wasn’t anything extraordinary. The fish was decent, the chips were standard—nothing that made them stand out. One downside was that my coffee arrived before the food, so I had to eat quickly before it got cold, which took away from the enjoyment. I didn’t want to send it back and waste it, but it wasn’t an ideal experience. If you’re in the area, it might be worth trying something else on the menu, but for me, it was just an average fish and chips experience.

Did not Disappoint, Easily The Best Fish & Chips I've ever had. We had The Famous 5, line caught Haddock, Chips Mushy, Peas Bread and unlimited Tea £21. The batter was light and crispy almost Tempora like. Come here and you won't be disappointed

Fab freshly cooked fish and chips in a lovely setting on Custom House Quay. Perfect with a cold cider from The Front pub under the fish and chip shop where you can sit outside to eat your takeout. Would recommend.

Classic fish and chips, can’t go wrong 🐟 A couple of Vegan options available which is nice to see as often limited. Although at the end of the day it is just fish and chips, nothing special about them.

Absolutely amazing food. Casual, easy to understand menu. Lovely staff. On a detailed note: I have never seen flaky salt presented on the table in a mini open ramekin. I absolutely love it. It highlights quality. But I sincerely hope these are changed over after every table as there may be some hygiene concerns for others. 100% recommend for great and fresh seafood and generous portions. Restaurant gets quite busy at peak times and are recommended to reserve ahead of time.

Had a very nice meal here for my partner's birthday. I had popped in earlier to ask that we were seated in the conservatory but was told that although I had a booking they could not say where it would be. In reality that is where we were seated in a pretty quiet evening for the restaurant. There were several items on the menu that were unavailable but that did not stop us finding things we liked.

We loved it so much we came back twice on our short break. Gorgeous food, lovely staff and amazing views! Keep doing what you’re doing Amelies!

Beautiful little restaurant overlooking the harbour in Porthleven. The food was good but the squid starter needs to be removed from the menu as it was 80% beer batter and 20% squid that was also like rubber from a car tire. We were very disappointed with the squid as we expected fresh squid since we are right next to a harbour full of fishing boats!

Was passing on a drizzly day and noticed a dog sitting in the conservatory. Not wanting to eat elsewhere outside with our dog we called in for lunch. Was disappointed with the red onion hummus which lacked flavour. The crab linguine and seafood chowder had plentiful amounts of seafood but spoilt by being smothered in cream.

Beautiful place awful food would not recommend. Went twice, first time food was average and slightly bland, they tool over 40min to serve although there were only 4 tables taken. Second time they never brought the side of fries until dessert, they forgot my watermelon on my “watermelon halloumi tartar” and the fish soup had an extra long hair in it. Yikes.

Pretty harbour-side restaurant in the gorgeous setting of Porthleven. Amelie is dog friendly which is a huge bonus 😁 We arrived just before dinner service started, the weather turned so we just wanted to duck in somewhere. Overall was good, but food was fairly average to be honest. We didn't have any seafood, so perhaps the experience is better with that included in your order 🤷🏻‍♀️

We popped in for an impromptu lunch on a stunning sunny day & bagged a table with our dogs on the terrace. We had no expectations as this was our first visit but we were blown away - from the focaccia & 'dips' (no way that does those justice!) through small plate starters which were stunning and then portions of home made pasta - they were wow - delicious - perfectly judged preparation and execution. We shared a delightful desert too. It was lunch so we didn't dive deeply into the wine list but had a glass of the skin contact which was unusual and brilliant. And of course a pair of Spritzes to get us in the mood - it was very hot after all!

Another delicious meal at The Square 2.0 - starters mains and desserts all excellent. The waitresses are warm and welcoming and the wine was good. For the quality of the food and the variety of choice it was excellent value for money. Thrilled to have this as an exceptional local restaurant!

Lovely experience! The staff were amazing, very friendly and helpful. We even spoke to the chef a few times about the dishes. High quality and thought out dishes, very very nice.

First time eating at The Square since it’s changed ownership, we were certainly not disappointed! While the menu has kept some of its original traditional Cornish elements, Fred is taking the kitchen in a slightly different direction, which is refreshing for this area. The ingredients used on the menu are locally sourced and of the highest quality. There were things on there that, being honest, we had to look up on Google. I actually think adds to the experience and makes the menu more exciting. We had to try the pasta, due to the connection to Little Ears in Newquay. This of course was cooked perfectly and the portions were great. The sides were also delicious, the broccoli and potato cakes are a must try! Overall this was a really enjoyable evening, we felt looked after by the staff and the location looking over the harbour is great for people watching! As a local, it’s nice to see something a bit different in the village. The food was top notch and we will definitely be back!

The food is amazing. An exciting menu which utilises local produce, supplemented with an outstanding wine list. Personally I am very excited to eat here again and plan to do so in the future. Just checked the Michelin Guide. The Square whilst currently has no stars, is a recommended place and absolutely deserves to.

Been to Porthleven a couple of times but not managed to visit the Square until last Sunday. The weather was unexpectedly great at lunch time and the restaurant was really busy. The service was a little chaotic and I got the sense some staff were new or slightly on the back foot with how busy it was. Most importantly however is that every member of staff was incredibly polite, friendly, helpful and provided great service. When our Sunday roast came out it was exceptional, no hesitation in saying this was the best Sunday roast I have had when eating out in many months. Every element of the roast was cooked to perfection, the meat (I had lamb) was tender and packed with flavour, the roast potatoes and vegetables all had perfect cook and again loads of flavour, the sides of cauli cheese and greens were delicious, and there was plenty of gravy (it's always awkward to ask for more!). Everything was hot rather than warm, which is really important as nothing had gone cold by the time we'd finished eating. Ordered a bottle of rioja, which happened to be the cheapest on the menu, and felt a little overpriced, but it was still a good bottle of red. However overall value for money was superb, the quality of the roast was top notch and the staff gave great service even while it was clearly busy. I would not hesitate to return. It also has a fun location in Porthleven looking across the harbour out to sea, though most of the time the local tourists (including ourselves) or vehicles are going past blocking the view.

Had a wonderful evening and meal at the Square. Always agood place for Eutingen out. Nice Atmosphäre and very kind Service. Will definitiv come again.

Popped in here with the walking group. We booked a table. Reasonable price. We had the £6 deal, which is from Monday to Friday, 12pm-6pm. Mains were £6 and desserts were £2.99. Everyone in the group enjoyed their food. Though I believe the lasagne looked the best. The best presentation was the fishcake with a poached egg on top. Staff were attentive. Though we were given the main venues instead of the specials. You might have to ask for the special venues. There is plenty of parking. No dogs are allowed, and no food is served outside due to seaguls. Though would you want to sit outside along a dual carriageway. All in all, it was a great experience. I'll go back and have different meals.

Popped here for lunch whilst visiting the area. Staff were lovely and made a big fuss of my dog. (Dogs allowed outside but not inside.). The food was tasty, with the lunch time deal making it very good value. My only complaint would be the cigarette butts around the outside tables, please clean them up.

I have been coming to this Table Table for 7 years I will not be coming again and will advise our company not to book us into the adjacent Premier Inn in the future. I walked in and asked if I could eat at the bar .No. I had to go and wait by the laptop. Have you booked, no. Are you fully booked. Yes. There was no one in there 😡😡😡😡 . Loads of stuff not on the menu and way I had was not good. Also I asked for the house Merlot as per pic however I was charged £6.39 instead of 5.99 the price on the menu. What a bloody shambles

Stayed here for business just 1 night. Frequently stay at Premier Inns and have a meal allowance. On arrival, I checked in and enquired if I needed to book a table. Was told that no, as all overnight guests will be accommodated. Headed to the pub at 6.15pm. Greeter asked if I had booked so told her that check in informed me I didn't need to, and I had an evening meal allowance. This was not well received. Was shown to a table (30) in the middle of a doorway, ironically near the cleaning station. Table was sticky and did not feel clean. Asked the waitress to clean it whilst I was at the bar ordering my food, which again was not well received...I really felt unwelcome, unappreciated and 2nd class, as a business customer with a food allowance. Had a friendly chat with the barman who processed my order very efficiently and did make me feel welcome. Came back and table was still sticky. Several people squeezed past my table in the doorway, bumping it and almost spilling my drink. When the waitress came with my starter I asked to be moved as there were 2 empty 2 seater tables in the room from the doorway my table was blocking. To which the reply was "it would mess up our systems!". When I said people were squeezing through knocking the table, she pulled over a chair from a nearby table to block the doorway completely. I asked the waitress to touch the table to see if it was clean. The reply was..." it is clean but the varnish is coming off!". At this point I gave up. Decided to eat my food as quickly as possible and retreat back to my room. Food was OK but not what you would expect for what you pay. I have had much better at other Premier Inns pubs. Ordered nachos for starters (very small) and chicken tikka with side salad and naan bread. Came without the naan bread. Side salad was a bit pathetic and in a ramekin. Asked the waitress for the naan and some mayonnaise. After waiting 4 to 5 minutes watching my food go cold, I went the the friendly barman, who even though was busy, went and got them from the kitchen immediately. Well done to him. Overall, felt very unwelcome and disappointed, and I am largely discouraged from staying at this Premier Inn in the future, mostly due to my dining experience. And unable to recommend the pub as a place for a good meal with friendly food service.

Rudely refused to be served food because I was seated in the bar area, wasn't a problem the three previous days! Don't bother with this venue if you are staying at the attached Premier Inn.

We were welcomed by Amber, and shown to a table, we ordered off the festive menu and opted for Turkey, and extra pigs in blankets & cauliflower cheese. Food was nice, but root mash not to our taste. And two of us didn't like the roast potatoes, they tasted like they'd been fried, and weren't fluffy. But overall, the festive lights & nice welcome from Amy & her good customer service. We enjoyed our experience. And the profiteroles & Orande match stick sundae were delicious, even better if you share and dunk the profiteroles in the orange sauce ......yummy.

We regularly use this table table for breakfast and have done for many years - have to say when Will was manager it was fantastic, staff were helpful and cheerful (except for the blonde kitchen lady, more on her later), food was regularly restocked. We highly recommended it then! However! Since their take over we’ve been twice, both times we had a cheerful manager (forget his name but he’s a larger gentleman with a lovely personality to match!) but sadly a cheerful manager doesn’t make up for poor staff and poor food. Food has regularly been empty, to the point if I had only continental I’d be asking for my money back! Pastries and cakes never get refilled, our last visit we had to ask for the empty baskets to be refilled even though the basket had been emptied and fresh ones were sat on the kitchen worktop, this time around they didn’t get restocked the whole time we were there. Hot food is a bit better but you still have to go up multiple times to get a full breakfast. With the change of staffing it blows my mind that they get rid of someone as fantastic as will, but keep the blonde kitchen lady. I’ve never met someone with such a sour expression and hatred for her job. She’s rude, miserable, barked at a child for not moving out of her way fast enough (Chinese tourist about 3yo, probably didn’t understand), previously I asked for pastries to be refilled and she audibly huffed at me and rolled her eyes, before not even answering me and walking off. I then seen her come back and slam the basket of pastries back down. What a bundle of joy when trying to enjoy a quiet breakfast! We’ve also witnessed her shouting at children, to the point the family had a shouting match with her - we told the family who were on holiday that this lady is regularly rude and surprises me she’s still allowed to be customer facing. All in all manager is good - food is good when you finally get some but you really need to rethink your kitchen staff to someone who actually likes people and actually does their job properly! Sadly we won’t be back because the service is just awful!

Kota Kai is a great spot right on Porthleven harbour. You can sit outside on the grass and enjoy the view or head upstairs for indoor seating with a nice outlook over the water. The food is mainly Vietnamese with a mix of small and large plates, but we went on a Sunday when they serve up a traditional roast instead. The roast was really tasty, came with all the trimmings, and was a good portion size too. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere, and a good place whether you’re after something a bit different with the Vietnamese menu or a classic Sunday roast. Definitely worth a visit!

Just superb. The food is excellent and affordable, and the staff lovely. I've walked past here sooooo many times and regretting having never come in before. My traditional Philp's pasty by the harbour is great, but for a few quid more, I enjoyed a comfy seat, a perfect view and a wonderful food experience.

Came here as a last hope to have dinner while here on holiday, thinking it wouldn’t serve food anymore (says it shuts at 21:00) but we got here and they said they’d serve us! Not only that but they had fantastic service, offered extra side plates for us to share a main, and were super friendly. The price was quite high but the food was so worth it! Would make a special trip here in the future

Had very high hopes for this place, but was sadly dissapointed. The service was fast, the waiting staff were faultless.. However, the food was very disappointing. One dish under cooked, one soggy and another just rather bland. Presentation was good, shame the food didn't taste as good as it looked.

Varied menu, generous size portions for mains, starters seemed poorer value. Happy hour a good addition, particularly in summer. Massaman curry good, lots of chicken but lacking that final touch, I have had more flavourful massaman locally. Overall a good choice for a meal in porthleven, although not outstanding against other local venues.

We had the smoked mackeral pate which was amazing and in fact all our food was delicious. Staff were attentive but relaxed and there was a great mix of customers. It was just over £50 a head for myself and my husband with a bottle of wine so fairly good value. I don’t mind paying for good food and this was. Would go again and would recommend.

Had an incredible meal here with my family when staying locally. The food was probably the best I have had in Cornwall and I have been going down annually for over 20 years! The owners were so kind and had some really lovely chats with them, and was lovely that the chef came out to talk too. A real hidden gem and a very special place indeed. Thank you!

Had a really lovely meal here as a treat on the last day of our holiday, I really enjoyed the addition of hazelnuts to the venison pie was something I have not had before. Service was friendly and food tasted fresh. Nice traditional food .

The best food in Cornwall! I visited The Ship in with friends and family and had a fantastic 3 course meal, Alli & Greg were the perfect hosts. A real hidden gem and we will definitely return.

We came across this pub whilst on a mission to buy pasties for family in Wiltshire whilst on holiday. Pulled up outside to look at the menu when the lovely chef came out to check we were OK (was just myself and my eldest daughter at the time as OH and two other children were back at the caravan) He was incredibly friendly and personable, told us about the changes to the menu as everything is homemade and fresh. We asked about availability and were able to book for 6pm and were allocated the Snug. Fast forward a few hours, we arrived just as they were opening for service. The snug was all laid out for us, including a highchair, and received the warmest welcome from the chefs wife (they run the pub together along with some really lovely local youngsters as waiting staff). They don't have a children's menu, BUT, made the most amazing chicken goujons for 2 of our party. Plates were cleared! The steak was perfection, as was the brisket. Puddings were just sensational, especially the chocolate mousse and creme brulee. Our youngest was able to eat what we did. He was even given the most awesome pirate ship to play with! Oh, the merlot, best my OH had on our weeks holiday. Honestly, the most welcoming and friendly staff and owners, a stunning pub with lots of history, and, special mention, I felt like royalty visiting the restroom! It's beautiful too! Thank you all so much for the most incredible meal and for making us so welcome, from our pit stop hours before to the moment we left.

My 65th birthday spent here with especially good friends to share it with. Impressive menu. Very country pub decors but pleasing atmosphere. Love the old style pull chain flush. Looked more like a dancing room to me as very spacious. I had a great time. Landlady warm and accommodating.

Quite easily once of the best meals I have had in the last year. The quality of ingredients and level of creativity in the dishes is so unique and exceptional. We loved every single dish that was brought out, but particular highlights included the sirloin, John Dory and the potato deep fried oyster. Have never had anything quite like that before and shall be dreaming of that oyster for nights to come. A must visit!

We had lunch there today, Saturday 11th October, our first visit. The smoked mackerel doughnuts were amazing, though I regret sharing with my husband. The disco scallops didn't sing or dance 'Dancing Queen' but my taste buds certainly did. The brilliant was, well, brilliant and the black crab apple dessert was out of this world. We would return again and again, however, we are at a 2 hour drive away. One day we'll come back.

Had the most wonderful food here! Everything was delicious and very balanced. Staff was incredibly knowledgeable and accommodating in regards to allergies etc. The restaurant is beautiful, we had such a great evening all around. Would 100% recommend

We have dined at Kota many times and have always loved it. We were excited to try the menu re-launch and it dud not dussapoint. Whilst the tasting menu is still available and looked delicious, we opted to choose a selection of Snacks and Pinxos. Wow is all I can say, the flavours were amazing. Would highly recommend the Crispy potato wrapped oysters and the Hispi cabbage. Service lovely as always, thank you Ellie for guiding us through the menu and the rest of the team for such a lovely evening.

Another perfect visit to our favourite place not only in Cornwall but to dine! Not one negative thing to comment on. Food is more that 10/10. The octopus was the best thing I have ever eaten could not believe how amazing it tasted and how well it was cooked to perfection. Service 10/10, atmosphere is gorgeous and we need Kota to open in London please! But also worth the 5 hour drive. Highly recommend best place I’ve ever eaten! Thank you

Had a lovely few days at Kota. The staff were lovely and could not do enough for us. The room was great,a really comfy bed and a fridge with milk and water,plenty of tea and coffee. Their lovely housekeeper checked in with us every day to ensure we had all we needed. The meal at Kota was amazing ,loads of choice and the flavours were lovely. The icing on the cake was a lovely recipe book signed by Jude for us to take home. I look forward to trying some of the ideas. Would definitely go back.

I dined here four years ago and everything was 5 star. Now though times have changed. F ood really wasn't that great. My £18 a glass of wine was nearly ice cold. Really disappointing Kota Kai was actually much better

Excellent food and service. We were slightly tricky diners with me being pregnant and my fiancée being vegan, but the chef was more than happy to adapt recipes and cater to our needs. Delicious and highly recommend visiting if you are in / near Porthleven!

Absolutely stunning food - simple but delicious. I recommend the brownie and pavlova desserts, they were fantastic. Staff lovely too - a real gem.

Couldn't get in here the last time we visited so made sure we booked well in advance for our next visit to Porthleven. After eating here, it is clear to see why you have to pre book. Every course was cook to perfection and the staff were friendly and knowledgeable about what was on the menu. I'd highly recommend the champagne sauce with any of the fish amd the pavlova for dessert. We will be booking here again for our visit next year.

Small intimate seafood restaurant. Lovely friendly personal service. Large portions of seafood at a very reasonable price. We were brought an amuse bouche and the water for the table was flavoured with cucumber, which was a lovely touch. We had the black pepper squid rings which were delicious. Then for mains I had the John Dory which was cooked perfectly and accompanied by a large slice of Dauphoinause potatoes and some herby seasonal veg and a fantastic champagne sauce. The monkfish and risotto was also very tasty and moist and again a very generous portion. For a small intimate restaurant this felt warm and welcoming and they delivered on taste and service

Wonderful scenic pub with coastal walks nearby and plenty of parking. The staff are wonderful, friendly and kind. You can always be assured of good service, good drinks and good views. My car recently broke down nearby and I hobbled in with my 3 month old baby and 12% battery. They could not have been kinder or more accommodating, thank you for looking after us.

Amazing food and prompt service. Zero complaints. We booked in advance for a large party of 14 and the staff were very friendly, bringing our food within twenty minutes of our arrival. Food was amazing.

Proper pub food and friendly staff :) I had the steak pie and my partner had the seafood chowder and child beef burger. They were absolutely delicious. It’s the best pub we’ve been to in Cornwall after many years of coming here on holiday.

What a find this pub was on our way back to St ives after a day at Lizard point. The outside of the pub might look understated but the traditional Cosy interior and amazing menu will not disappoint. Thanks for a lovely meal 😊

They were definitely busy, but not full. It was a lovely warm September day so the outdoor tables in the sunshine were full. The service was friendly and pretty quick. We both had the Sunday roast. I've not seen/eaten a roast dinner that enormous outside of Chrismas Day. It was very substantial, but also very well cooked. My beef was plentiful and tender. My partner's nut roast was tasty and moist (and he's had a few nut roasts in his time). The plate was covered in protein-of-choice, roasties, Cauli cheese, plentiful gravy, and a large Yorkshire pud. We both got a side plate of veg that might normally do 2 people. Fortunately we love veg too. Again, it was well cooked, not overdone, just boiled/steamed, but a good mix of cabbage, swede, parsnips, carrots, broccoli and mashed potato/celeriac. The puddings we saw also looked great, but we still had a few miles to cover. Also, nice real ales and a fantastic interior, with fabulous views if you're outside or by a window. (Low beams inside.) Minus 1 star because my main was a bit on the cool side. Not worth sending back though. Veggies were hot and my partners dinner too.

This is without doubt the best cafe in the U K in my experience. One of the best in the world that I have visited. If a cafe could be awarded a Michelin star this would deserve it. I had an English breakfast, top class. My partner had the vegetarian version which was incredible, truly superb. Restaurants should use this as a standard for vegetarian meals as mostly the veggie options are an afterthought. I applaud the Fat Apples staff for the high standard of food and for their impeccable service and politeness.

Just back from a fantastic birthday lunch and the salads are just amazing… followed by a huge meringue with delicious raspberry coulis, sorbet and a candle in the top as it is my birthday. Impromptu singing from the staff added to the occasion. What a great place this is!! Good mix of locals and visitors here today too which was lovely to see!

A sweet family run cafe with an eclectic feel! Friendly staff, great food! We had a polenta cake (home made) and a bacon bap with coffee. Both excellent and beautifully served. The breakfast looked amazing. I heard another customer compliment them for the vegetarian breakfast. I will have to go back when I am a bit more hungry (my bacon bap was on top of my earlier breakfast at home!)

Very tasty food, great to have sautéed potatoes along side a bacon roll. The coffee was very good, and served by cafetière to table as opposed to a coffee machine at the counter. Look forward to going back again.

I honestly can’t recommend Roskilly’s enough – what an amazing spot! The food was absolutely top notch, a solid 10/10. We went as a family and everyone left raving about it. The burgers especially were a huge hit – easily some of the best we’ve ever had. To finish we had their homemade ice cream – you can really taste the quality, so creamy and full of flavour. The whole place has such a lovely vibe. We had a wander round afterwards and the views around the farm are stunning, which just made the visit even better. Service was excellent, atmosphere chilled and welcoming, and it’s also really family-friendly with a kids’ menu that even includes dessert. Plenty of parking too, which makes it super easy. Such a gem of a place – we’ll definitely be recommending it to friends and family, and I’m sure we’ll be back again soon!

I don’t even have words to describe how amazing this place is! The food is sensational 10/10. I came with my family/partner and most of them got burgers and said it was the best burger they’ve ever had. I got a Rita Rudh cocktail which was fantastic! To finish we had some of their ice cream which you could tell was such good quality! We also had a walk around the area which had such beautiful views. Such a lovely place, would highly recommend, and will be raving about it to friends and family who visit the area!

We came across Roskilly's while researching the area and were able to book a table for dinner. Wanted to book for Sunday lunch but need to book further in advance as we called on the day! We really enjoyed walking around the farm and then had a lovely family dinner. We ordered the vegetarian burger (it's not a veggie patty as we were told but flat mushroom, courgette etc. Still very tasty though) , shawarma and cheeseburger. And then ice cream for dessert! Food was very good, customer service also good. Definitely want to try the Sunday roast next time we visit the area!

Just an amazing visit from start to finish! Proper rural farm with amazing animals! The bar/cafe area is absolutely beautiful and the food 1st class, such a lovely atmosphere for families! The meadows with delicious ponds full of fish and the jersy cow herd so friendly! Will definitely return whilst still in Cornwall 🙌 xx

It is a lovely place to go and get some ice cream, Roskilly’s is the ice cream available around the area and this is where it’s from. The atmosphere is very nice, the outside eating area is both covered and open and has a Mediterranean feel to it. After ice creams we went for a walk around the lake/pond to see the cows then they fed the goats and saw the pigs and chickens. A lovely little pit stop with decent toilets and the restaurant looks nice with a reasonably priced menu.

Roskilly's is well signposted from main road going towards Coverack. Plenty of parking . Restaurant has good menu . The food was excellent . Selected Mackerel and chicken skewer with flatbread. Service friendly. Place has very good selection of ice creams and sundaes. A pleasant experience and would go back again

What a great place! Known for their ice cream (it’s delicious), but the burger was honestly the best I’ve ever had. It was especially good with their garlic ketchup (we bought a few jars to take home). It was nice sunny day when we visited, the ambiance in the courtyard seating area is perfect, with lots of little birds darting around. Service was excellent, the meal was relaxing and delicious. We went for a stroll around the animal area afterwards as well as popping to the shops. Well worth a visit, we’ll be there again next time we’re in Cornwall. Thanks to the Tom and the team.

Came here with my partner for a Sunday roast, got here late but the staff couldn't have been more welcoming. One girl in particular who was really accommodating and friendly. The roast was amazing, couldn't even finish it and had to take home in a box. My partner really enjoyed his Camden Town IPA also. Really busy with a nice local atmosphere, great views with live music and dog friendly which is an absolute must. Will definitely be back again. Thank you.

What a great find in a backstreet of Porthleven with that perfect seat & view out to sea during the day, early evening or to watch the sunset with a loved one & a few cold local ales. From the warmest of welcomes to the establishment from the staff, the choices of ales etc, we were made to feel right at home, so a few more visits were taken during our stay. Thanks to the team, we plan to return ASAP.

The Atlantic Inn team were really friendly prior to our visit taking our order to ensure there was no disappointment before we arrived and kept up this great service on the day. Thank you. A lovely place to relax and have breakfast. Reasonable prices too. It took a while for our food to arrive but as it's all cooked to order, that's to be expected. And definitely worth the wait. Very generous breakfasts and very tasty. Beware of the seagulls if you're sitting outside.

We visited this café during a morning walk around Porthleven Harbour and were really pleased with the experience. The prices were very reasonable, and the quality of the food stood out. My partner had the full English, which was generous and made with great ingredients – everything was cooked perfectly. I had the porridge with oat milk, which had a lovely texture and flavour, though it was a little on the cold side. Still, it didn’t take away from the overall enjoyment. A cosy spot with friendly service and a nice view – definitely worth a visit!

The best service, the best food, the best vibe. We were a big group of ladies on bikes that were very hungry and we were greeted with such amazing service. Such good food and quick to service us. The staff were so much fun, even during a busy, Easter bank holiday. We danced, we laughed, we had the best lunch. Thankyou :)

Fabulous cake and coffee. Some of the largest cakes I've ever seen! The cake forks were inadequate to the task. Lovely setting by the side of the harbour and friendly staff. Gets the morning sun on the outdoor tables.

Lovely place. Visited here a couple of days ago. 4 adults, 5 children, two of whom are babies and two toddlers, plus one dog. The staff couldn’t have been more accommodating. We understand young children can be a bit noisy however they never made us feel uncomfortable. The food was out in good time and was superb. Not normally a fan of chunky chips but these were great. Also had the crab sandwich which was fresh and tasty. Top marks and a credit to Porthleven.

Firstly, the food on offer is phenomenal. It is elevated but accessible. The portion sizes are decent and the flavours are refined and complimentary - for example pork in a liquorice glaze. I don't typically like liquorice and it was delicious. Niel and Leonie have been operating their small restaurant for ages. Their hospitality is gentle, open and very approachable. Our family has been going once a year, and while we don't see them often every time we do there is a friendly catch up like it was only yesterday. The restaurant is a small front room with an attached open kitchen. It is very cosy and homely. The bathrooms are 2 small single sex rooms. Not sure of disabled toilet which is something to double check. They also offer corkage for those who wish to BYOB. Perfect place for foodies, a place to show off local food and those looking for a quiet experience to eat out. Recommend booking in advance.

A chance find via a Google recce before starting out holiday. It absolutely deserves its 4.9 rating. It’s outstanding! It’s a small two person, 20 cover restaurant in a village. It has a limited, but changing menu based on local produce and ingredients. Menu for each weekend on their website. We chose the scallops and soufflé for starters. The theee scallops baked in their shells have a café de Paris (slightly spicy, curry) butter. Ask for a spoon and extra bread to leave nothing behind. The souffle was haddock and Gruyère in a spinach sauce with Parmesan crisp. Both brilliant. Mains monkfish and lamb. Monkfish had peas and beans in a cider veloutée plus veg. Lamb included black garlic, grilled veg and carrot purée plus some subtle gentle spiced aubergines. Boiled, buttered new potatoes on the side for both dishes. Not sure I’m doing the menu full justice, but you get the idea. Beautiful presentation. Great wine choices also. Dessert choice was epic also but we were full. Lovely evening. Can’t recommend highly enough. Fine dining! 6 stars 🌟

Great little place, relaxing atmosphere with excellent service and superb food you can easily understand why it has won so many awards and you can even take your own wine with a corkage fee of course we will definitely be returning. I think we were the only couple that were 1st time customers and I understand why. The only drawback is that booking is essential due to it being so popular we booked months in advance to ensure a table. Even the other customers were friendly and chatty people saying hello as they arrived all in all a very enjoyable evening

We’ve been holidaying in Cornwall for the last 10 years, and this was hands-down the best dining experience we’ve had in all that time. The food was absolutely fantastic—beautiful local ingredients, cooked to perfection. The service was so friendly and welcoming, too. Honestly, my only regret is not discovering this gem sooner! We’ll definitely be back.

The whole place was magical from the moment we walked through the doors We were given Gluten free options and the staff were amazingly patient with our 10yo who was a bit fussy over spice. The fish cakes starter was perfectly cooked and flavoured and just melted in the mouth! The portion was just enough to want more, but not enough to fill you up for the main. I had the cashew stir-fry with chicken as a main, and it was to die for. Hubby was jealous, so bought a takeaway the next night. We were treated to a tour of the restaurant and bar by one of the owners and you can just feel the love and passion that has gone into the place, each piece of decoration has a story and the owners enthusiasm bleeds through. From the Lucky Budha beers drunk during renovation which are now pride of joy at the reception desk to the cafe /barn area inspired by Bim's northern Thailand village. The staff are all very friendly and knowledgeable about the food and dietary requirements (a God send for us). For 2 adults, 2 children, all with drinks (G&T's and pints of lager) starters, mains and puddings we spent just about £200, but we won't think twice about driving the 295 miles for a meal the next time holiday time/budget allows.

Simply amazing!!! If you want to step into Thailand on your doorstep then this is the place to go. We are staying down here for the week and I would literally drive from Wales just to eat here again. 100% I will be coming back. Service is impeccable, food is out of this world, atmosphere is amazing and the price is extremely reasonable for the quality of food. An absolute gem of a place

We paid an impromptu visit for lunch. Jumunjy has been decorated with amazing hand built features that can escort you back to a village in a remote part of Thailand.. We loved it and although it was quiet (we were early)It was atmospheric. I can imagine it buzzing with people and great music. We have had takeaways from here but eating in is an experience..Nikki and Mark one Saturday in March.. ☺️

Wow. What a mixed bag of emotions. The restaurant and bar is beautifully decorated. The waitress was honest about her not knowing how to process a take away order, I waited a while for the same waitress to come back and take said Take away order. The bill came up to £58.00 for 2 curries (1 green with chicken £19, 1 red with duck £23) 2 boiled rice £6, 1 roti bread (£7.50, see picture) 1 crackers with sweet chilli sauce £3.50 (no sauce provided) Tha curry sauce on both was phenomenal, best I've had and I've worked in a Thai kitchen, but then to throw in baby potatoes with pineapple wedges in the red curry, and half Carrots with more pineapple wedges in the green, while leaving out the essential bamboo shoots seems unforgivable. The duck meat was perfect, chicken is chicken. The roti flat treats were deep fried dough discs, that oozed oil at the slightest touch. And then to leave out the sweet chilli sauce was just the final straw to make me leave this review. **not to mention the bar only offers 1 red wine by the glass and it's £10 for a glass. Not sure if I got charged tourist prices, but feeling a little ripped off and even though the curry sauce was BANGING! Have a sour taste for Jumunjy. I messaged the restaurant prior to this review, but yet to receive a reply. Will update if contacted.

Amazing food !! Really well balanced! Cashew nut stir fry is a must !! Only letdown was slow service it took 35 mins for food to arrive on our table. Later got to know it’s only 1 chef cooking so can’t really complain Overall, great experience a must visit

I recently tried the Seafood Pad Thai at Jumunjy Thai Restaurant & Bar near Helston (TR12 6LR). The portion was generous, and the dish wasn’t outright bad, but it didn’t deliver the vibrant, balanced flavours you expect from a standout Pad Thai. The tangy tamarind, salty fish sauce, and fresh lime notes were all subdued, and the seafood—meant to be the star—was disappointingly sparse. For £22, I expected a bit more punch and generosity, especially in the seafood department. It felt like safe cooking that didn’t quite justify the price tag. If you’re looking for flavour fireworks and good value in your Pad Thai, I’d keep searching elsewhere. Jumunjy offers an interesting dining atmosphere, but their dish was bland and could do with a seafood upgrade to match the cost.

No atmosphere at all, food was terrible to say we were the only 2 people in there at 4:30, after a 45minute wait the food arrived, i had a fish pie with hardly any fish in it, 1 overcooked prawn and chewy calamari, my partner had the bacon and cheese burger, the bun was stale and the chips were raw, we complained to be told the chef had only cooked the chips once (they were meant to be twice cooked) so we waited for the chips to be re cooked- they came out again after another 10 minute wait.. low and behold still raw! Goes without saying we paid and couldnt get out of there quick enough, just seemed no care or attention, sorry guys avoid

A lovely venue, polite staff and good food - the trouble was that it took so very long to arrive! We were the fifth and sixth people in the restaurant and yet it took 45 minutes after ordering for our food to show. Another gripe is the menu - initially the prices seem very reasonable, until you notice a ‘supplement’ charge on half the main courses. The supplement is an additional cost on top of the listed menu price, meaning the food doesn’t actually fall under the price category it appears to. The food is not overpriced, but the way of listing it feels deceptive. It’s a shame because as mentioned, the atmosphere and food itself were lovely.

Having visited Henlys last summer when we were in the area, we were pleased to see there was a themed Spanish night for our visit this year. The complimentary sangria on arrival was a lovely touch and very tasty, then the three course meal was delicious! You can tell a lot of thought went into each of the dishes, everyone at our table loved theirs - with a special mention for the feather blade steak which was lovely. The recommended wine pairings also went down a treat. Staff were very friendly and there was a great atmosphere both upstairs in the restaurant and downstairs in the bar. We will definitely be back to Henlys on our next trip to Cornwall.

The Spanish omelet and spicy chicken arrabbiata were excellent. The pizza had a very generous amount of tomato sauce, and the balance of cheese and chicken was perfect. The service and staff behavior were outstanding. They definitely deserve 5 stars!

To start, the food and drinks here was amazing, I ordered a steak and my girlfriend ordered a seafood linguini, both were cooked to perfection! The drinks really did it for me and not to mention the two for £12 deal is great! The staff were really friendly and even offered great recommendations for the rest of our holiday, I would definitely come here again! The only downside is parking, we luckily got street parking but it would be nice to have dedicated parking!

We visited Henlys while on holiday in Cornwall. We went on a Tuesday evening and they had a special offer on 2 basket meals for 12 quid. It was quiet in the bar area and we were made to feel very welcome by the owner. They offer a choice of Cornish beers and cider, I had a pint of Korev and my wife chose a large glass of white wine. For our meal I had the chicken wings and my wife had the chicken strips, both of these were basket meals. Our son chose baked cod off the specials menu. All 3 meals were very tasty. Me and my son had deserts, he had a chocolate fondant, which he enjoyed very much, and I had the lemon tart, which was excellent. We all enjoyed our experience that much we booked for the following evening for the 2 x steaks for £50. (I'll review that later).

Had a lovely Sunday roast here. Huge plateful and very tasty. Staff were lovely and friendly, couldn't do enough for us. 5 star

Lunchtime 5 stars, evening meal 3 stars, so 4 stars average. The meal problem was a terrible rib-eye steak. It was small, chewy and overcooked, "rare" as requested, so dry and tasteless. The other meal, the bbq ribs, was excellent. Would still recommend a visit.

Food was really tasty. We were served fairly quickly and the staff were really helpful and friendly. My only point would be that the food was a little pricey. I would go back though.

Food was absolutely delicious !!! Service was great lovely location would highly recommend we had the chicken and ham pie which was the best pie I’ve eaten , rib eye steak which was very good quality and ham egg and chips which was also lovely ! Thank you very much !

Lovely, friendly little shop who make sublime pizzas to order. Would have posted a pic of the whole pizza but it was just too good to wait to eat! Highly recommended. Update: so good I went back the next day for a salad. Choose 5 or 7 items from a wide choice. Absolutely delicious and huge portions!

Came twice during our stay in Porthleven. I had a wonderful salad box for lunch, which was excellent. So much choice of what to put in it, very quickly assembled. Also had a pizza one evening from the wood fired oven, which was delicious and had generous toppings. Highly recommend and can’t wait to come back soon.

Ginormous scones caught my eye as I walked past and at only £2 I had to get one. Still warm! It was absolutely delicious and the staff that served me were lovely! I picked up some cream and strawberries from the local shop and had a feast when I got home. Would 100% recommend 🥰

Great deli with delicious pizzas cooked in the wood fired oven in the front of the shop. Mostly a takeaway service but they do have 3 tables and an alcohol license if you want to eat in.

Nice little place within view of the harbour. Fresh cooked pizza is very good and very filling. Be prepared to take away left overs if you sit in a we did. Constant stream of takeaways so must be popular. Not very big inside but they have a few tables and do a good range on breakfast, lunches, and pizza. Also flavoured oils, salad bar, and a few other bits to buy. Scones looked good but we didn't have any

We went to the Corner Deli for pizza and it was a very good experience. It is a small but well looked after place, there is a wood pizza oven and in addition to the standing menu you can change or add to your pizza as you like. Service was attentive and very nice to us. The pizzas tasted very good, they are made fresh according to your wishes. Takeaway is the main idea, I would say, we dined on one of the three tables.

10/10! One of, if not the best pizza i have ever had! Lovely little place with an authentic Italian cafe feel to it, super friendly staff and a beautiful pizza to top it off! If you’re in Porthleven this place is a must visit!

Ate here on a Sunday night at a lovely table for two by the window looking out to the harbour. The staff were friendly and welcoming willing to advise when asked about the food and drinks. Food was fabulous. Our server helped with our choices and whilst I would never normally choose a fish curry I feel I can't recommend the Goan fish curry enough. It was delicious. As was hubby's sea bass. We had a charcuterie to share which was a great tasting starter. Deserts chosen were Lemon meringue and vanilla set cream both excellent. We tried some cocktails as we prefer them to wine.Try a Porthleven Bramble cocktail it will not disappoint. Will return when we are in Porthleven again.

Delightful. Did exquisite. Service personable and friendly. Location awesome. Chocolate mousse, cherry filling with milk ice cream over a brandy snap is a dessert highlight for quite a few years! Magic.

Staff were not as good as expected and/or kitchen stretched too thin on a quiet Thursday evening. Food was decent enough, but poor value as main seemed small for 45GBP for 2 courses. Disappointing and not as good as Rick Steins’ Seafood Restaurant even accounting for price difference and despite originally being one of his restaurants.

What a fantastic restaurant . We tried it for fun and we’re not disappointed. Fish is the focus though there are other dishes . Everything we had was fantastic , and it’s a lovely place with friendly staff . Definitely recommended .

We loved this place! Everything was superb. The atmosphere was relaxed but the service was attentive and friendly. We felt very lucky to be able to get a table upstairs on the terrace under a brolly, in July. The food was fabulous. Perfectly cooked fish, delicious oysters. Can't wait to get back there in the spring.

Some really nice dishes are available, but for a high-class harbourside restaurant, I would expect more seafood dishes on the menu. What there was was high quality and tasty.

Absolutely appalling front of house service, the young lady with brown hair intentionally tried to overcharged us even after the price being confirmed over the phone when this was raised she could not of been any ruder, what ever charm school she attended I think she should have her money back - I'm more than happy for the owners to respond as I'd personally like to reiterate the importance of front of house customer service especially when using somewhere for the first time, Bitterly yours.

Ok I usually get my take away from here and ot really is brilliant. But and it's a big but would I eat inside? No way unless of course I was offered to dine upstairs. Reason is it's so tiny and I don't really fancy dining in the lower area as you are in full view of everyone else waiting to pick up there takeaway and going to the counter to submit their orders or pay. Now please I'm no prude but it really is tiny, but as stated food and service is excellent.

Portions are good! Quality not so much. Sweet and sour chicken was deep friend chicken in a weird batter and a small amount of sauce. House special curry not great. Seaweed was lovely. Pop was warm. Salt and chilli chicken was the same batter as sweet and sour but no peppers onions etc ... Staff were friendly enough but no restaurant experience. Clumsy and dressed in hoody and jeans. Confused when we asked for things to come out separately not all together. We were sat at the front of the 'restaurant' more like a shop but felt like we were sat at the front of a take out only. You can hear the chef shouting at staff while trying to enjoy a meal. The door was left open which left the shop cold. Wouldn't personally go back but everyone's tastes are different.

Food was amazing and the staff are so friendly, it's amazingly decorated and the customer service is incredible. The lady that took out food order saw us taking photos and even offered to take one of me and my partner.

Awful. Would not recommend. We had a takeaway from here after a 6 hr drive down for our week holiday and beyond disappointed. Cost way too much for the quality we received. The duck was just fat bits and hardly any meat for £20! We ordered mixed vegetables in ginger and spring onion and it was just onions (see picture below) the bbq sauce was like glue! Just awful. We called the restaurant to express how disappointed we were, we spoke to a manager who was lovely and sympathetic but couldn’t offer us any money back without speaking to the owner. Promised a call back the following day and didn’t hear anything we chased it and the owner refused to offer us anything but 10% which was 7.90 and advised that is just how they make it. We didn’t even eat hardly any of it. Won’t be returning.

We had a take out. Food was amazing really lovely. Portions were big and I've never had so much meat. Portions of meat in the special fried rice that could be a meal in itself. Would recommend and will get returning

Desolate (not many customers) but great food. Outside tables are available, nice service. Lots of tables and room for customers but we were the only customers at the start when we were there. I think that maybe some ambience or music in the background would help the atmosphere as due to the lack of customers it seemed quite awkward to have a conversation.

Our party of four arrived on a Sunday evening for the buffet to find that it wasn't on. However we were offered a buffet menu that allows you to select as much food as you wanted. I have to say at first we were a little dubious, but we need not have been, the food was very tasty and fresh tasting. The staff were friendly and pleasant and called regularly to the table to see if we wanted anything else. Only down side, very little in the way of choice for sweets and the wife didn't get her prawn crackers, even after a reminder 😂 But we would definitely go again.

Just come back from Moon Bay, it was absolutely amazing! People there were absolutely lovely and attentive and the food was just amazing! All seemed very fresh and incredibly tasty 😋. Would absolutely recommend! Thank you

Great food ,best buffet around

Wow wow wow. I have just had a takeaway from here and the food is sensational. It is hot, tasty and huge portions. I have never tasted a chow mein like it. I loved the brocoli and mangetout that was a lovely addition. The delivery driver was a star, told us good places to visit, wished us a happy stay where we come from its throw the food at you and run. Please give this place a go when your here you won't regret it.

Superb fish and chips. Really, really superb. Unfortunately I was a mere tourist so only get to sample once a year or so.

Staying nearby and after reading the ratings we decided to give it a try. Suffice to say, we weren’t disappointed! I had medium cod and chips, my partner had a large cod and chips. Both were generous portions and were tasty, hot and freshly cooked. The staff were lovely and friendly, we would definitely recommend.

Delicious fish and chips. We went for the medium and it was perfect! Fish was fresh, crispy batter and the best chippy chips I've ever had. Was quite busy when we arrived (Friday night!) We were greeted with very friendly service and our fish and chips much quicker than expected! Could not really ask for more. Thank you Nettles!

Bought fish and chips last night (Sunday) and unfortunately I have had vomiting and liquid diarrhea all night and into the morning within hours of eating. Either I had a bad piece of fish or health & safety (cleanliness) isn't up to scratch. Thankfully my husband hasn't suffered anything which leads me to believe it was the fish rather than cleanliness but really, who knows, his mushy peas weren't mushy at all though, just peas sat in a green liquid. Either way we won't be eating anything from this chippy ever again. It's a shame because they generally get good reviews which is why I chose them when I had a different chippy literally a 1 minute walk away. I'm wishing I had gone to the convenient chippy and not driven into town to Nettles.

First time trying here, all I can say is Wow, haddock was the size of a whale, hubby loved the Saveloy and battered sausage..plenty of chips for the small portion...cheese and onion fritters is a must to try..and the best thing, everything was Hot 🔥

We were so happy to find this place, we were on holiday for a week in Cornwall in May & rarely found a nice tea room that was open, most of them were either closed completely or had short opening hours .The lady who served us was cheerful and helpful, seemed genuinely happy in her job and willing to work hard to make her business a success. Top marks for atmosphere & staff.

Honestly the best salad I've ever had, no limp lettuce here, there was rice, beans, little pea shoots....just stunning! 😍 Gorgeous little tea room, made our family feel really welcome and did a great little children's lunch too. Only wish we didn't live 300 miles away!!!

Food was fine. Only problem the waitress kept opening the door and leaving it open on a cold January day in spite of the fact the customers were cold. Said necessary for ventilation which seems strange. It appeared that she was too warm. Surely the comfort of the customer should come first. Hence only 3 stars. Would have given more if the above hadn't happened.

Cannot fault this tearoom...many so called " quirky" tearooms don't deliver on the plate or by way of service..! Hello's is great value, well served food and the ambience is...quirky! My wife and I visited for lunch yesterday. The best BLT I have ever been served and the "savoury " tea my wife had was exemplary in both presentation and taste... pleasant, friendly , knowledgeable staff and the overall menu should have something to please most tastes...this tearoom doesn't pretend to be something it's not....if I am in Helston again, it would be my only choice for food on a plate...for breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea...well done to all involved with the running of this cafe..😁

This is THE best place in Cornwall for Coronation chicken, as well as homemade cakes and fantastic customer service. A lovely family owned business that takes the time to welcome you and offer a great selection of yummy food and drinks. You just have to visit!

Friendly service by young girls. A bit expensive. Decoration a bit too girlie but ok. We wanted a table upstairs as room downstairs is a bit claustrophobic. The girl kind of pulled a face saying it had just been cleaned and closed even though it was 1 hour before closing time. She reluctantly agreed. It's a nice little tea Room and would go again.

Staff are lovely and super welcoming. Atmosphere is great - a very well decorated restaurant with some great live music pretty much every week. The food WAS good during opening week, but it has since dropped in quality the 2nd and 3rd time I've been (particularly the angry fries). Drinks can also be improved on - especially the cocktails which taste quite bland but are quite expensive... I do recommend their pineapple and coconut dessert though!

Don’t listen to the Karen’s!! To accomplish what the team have in the first week of any new business opening is brilliant. Yes the staff have to learn a new system and get to know each other and become more fluid but that will come. The important thing is the food is amazing value for money in a village where value for money isn’t always a focus, the food is tasty and the portions generous. The staff are excellent and the place has a great atmosphere. We have eaten here three times this week and can’t wait to go back the next time we are in town, we wish the entire team ongoing success and thank you for bringing something refreshing to the village, has been long overdue .

Front of house staff were lovely working with what little they've been given. The waiter made three trips back and forth to the kitchen, each time telling us that a dish we ordered was unavailable. Chefs inside the kitchen looked very young and inexperienced, became apparent that only dishes that required basic assembly / microwaving were on offer. Tell your customers what's on/not on when they arrive to save disappointment. One of our tables dishes arrived 10 minutes after the others, despite the same dish being ordered by another member of the table being delivered with the rest. Pretty basic thing to get right in hospitality as noone wants to recieve their food after the rest of the table has finished. Included a photo of the soupy nachos that looked like sloppy paint pallet because it made us chuckle. 🤢 Again, your staff were lovely but if this restaraunt hasn't failed/ changed hands in the next year or two I'll be surprised.

We came here 3 times last year, great service, great food and vibe. We went tonight and it was such a contrast. Awful runny tacos with no taste, stuffed with refined beans. Total menu change and all the best dishes have been removed and the ones that remained were really poor. Front of house staff are very friendly and welcoming, just a shame what they are working with.

The food was really good and it's dog friendly very reasonably priced. Staff very attentive and the presentation of the food was good. It tasted really good and the staff were really informative and helpful about the food as we had a 4 year old. So they made some adjustments to the food so it wasn't too spicy. The restaurant is decorated really nicely and there is a loved terrace area too

Very Poor. Feel I need to share our experience. Found it to be very poor. We had to wipe clean our table and then order our food via an app. By this time I already felt insulted to be asked to consider making a tip before receiving any service. Drinks were brought out, then to our astonishment the staff brought out the starters and mains all at once. The staff did not seem to care. The calamari was undercooked, lacking any crispness. The blackened fish was nothing of the sort. The mains were otherwise reasonable although the dips were provided in little paper pots along the lines of a major burger chain. One of our party was sick overnight.

What happened ! We visited last year, place was buzzing , lots of servers , people behind the bar mixing drinks .food great , we visited several times during our holiday . This time two servers that we saw , no one behind bar . Definitely not buzzing Food was terrible , my husband ordered burger , which he said , tasted like something he would have expected from a supermarket budget quarter pounder range . Dessert not any better , we ordered churros , which were bland and served with a sauce which tasted bought in . Overall not impressed . Cannot believe the difference between this year and last year . Didn’t return The only positive is , that the servers were great , and did their best , as I’m sure they probably get a tough time from some diners !

Enjoyed a lovely lunch of garlic mushrooms and toast, with a pint of local ale. Service both efficient and friendly. Atmosphere perfect on a weekday afternoon after a long walk.

A Sunday lunch hidden gem! We happened upon this quaint little pub today in need of a Sunday roast and we were pleasantly surprised at how delicious it was. Very reasonably priced, great portions and absolutely delicious. The service was fantastic and we’ll be back for sure.

House hunting in the area dropped in on the Thursday again on Friday and Saturday The staff were very welcoming and the locals very friendly Food excellent can’t fault this place just need to find a property in the village so we too can be locals

Went in with my girlfriend and her daughter they’d never been down to Cornwall before and I usually go to this pub after football went in to grab some food a drink and play pool well I was setting up the pool table I could hear staff saying send them to the public toilets don’t know why their here if their not getting any drinks then once I set the pool table up they refused to give me the white ball because I hadn’t ordered yet they got another customer to tell me he’ll sort the table out if I order bare in mind I had two menus in my hand very very rude will not be going again also made a young girl feel uncomfortable about using a toilet disgusting behaviour especially letting someone that don’t work their tell me he’ll sort the table out for me if I buy a beer lost customers and I hope no one else has the same experience

Didn't stay at this as a filter but had some food which was lovely. Very busy when we were there with the local who was all friendly and helpful. We will be popping in more now that my daughter has moved closer to this lovely village . Thank you to all the friendly locals.

We have eaten at The White Hart many times, over the years. In fact, every September, whilst we stay in Cadgwith, Cornwall, for two weeks. The food here is very tasty (I'm vegetarian) & reasonably priced. The staff are very friendly & efficient. We shall return.

Favourite pasty place so far! Real, lovely meat and it was hot. The 'classic' size was big enough for one and a half meals for us. And the sausage rolls were also one of the best we've had, loads of quality meat.

Choice is super limited, steak cheese or vegan. Unfortunately my steak was too salty for me & wife. Good seating area outside though.

Shop looks lovely and the options are simple (vegan, cheese and steak). Vegan had an overwhelming taste of olives - really odd and very salty and dry. Didn’t finish. I’ve had a lot of vegan pasties before and this isn’t the norm.

A really, really, good pasty. Meat was lovely and tender without any chewy bits. Pastry and other filling lovely too. Enjoyed this at lunchtime sitting by the harbour.

Excellent first time trying pasties from this company. Usually the only good quality pasties are mothers homemade. But these definitely tie in for a close second, even she is a longtime fan! Will certainly be back for more when I next visit. A shame I no longer live in Cornwall, then again it probably saves the waistline!

Outstanding, pastry has a crispness to it and pasty is loaded with filling. Classic size has satisfying heft. Go on, treat yourself.

Last day on holiday, and Cargo hit the spot! Amazing food! The Bacon cheese burger had incredible taste and was cooked perfectly. The fries had great seasoning as well. 10/10 would recommend! Will definitely be back next holiday!

Cargo is a fantastic little spot right on Porthleven Harbour, perfect if you’re craving proper comfort food. The menu focuses on hearty classics — burgers, ribs, and hot dogs — and they do them really well. The beef burger was juicy and full of flavour, while the chicken burger came with quite a kick (definitely on the spicy side, so worth noting if you’re not into heat). The ribs were rich and satisfying, and everything feels freshly prepared. Seating is all outdoors, which adds to the casual harbour-side vibe, but keep in mind it’s very weather dependent. Overall, a great place for tasty fast food with a relaxed atmosphere — ideal for grabbing a bite while enjoying the view.

Honestly the best burger I’ve had in a very long time if not in my life. Came down on holiday and spotted this place. Let’s just say if I lived here I would be here everyday. Service was quick and staff were friendly. Will be back ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A different dining experience: eating outside a storage container! Food smelt good while being cooked and tasted great too. Plus we could eat under cover, away from the seagulls

This place is amazing - this is my fish box. Have eaten in various places in the area but won’t be going anywhere else to eat from now on. Cargo you have a new customer (family and friends)

Me and my boyfriend visited Porthleven for the first time last week as we were on holiday and came across Cargo. The menu sounded amazing, I chose the fish tray and my partner had the Pork-Leven burger. We were astounded at the portion sizes we received, incredible! The white fish, prawns and squid I had were delicious. I would highly highly recommend Cargo and will definitely be going again!

Great nachos. A quiet, outside dining experience when all the pubs and restaurants we're deafening. The service was prompt and the staff pleasant.

Without doubt the best fish n chips ever !! They are beyond normal fish n chips. They change their menu everyday, guaranteeing fresh catch! We got the fishermans basket, extra fish and dirty chips all for 24 ish. Super tasty. Definitely worth it!

We went for the crab mayo dirty fries and the monkfish, and they were absolutely amazing! It's great that they use locally caught fish as well - they have the names of the boats and crews in the shop. We'll definitely be eating here again!

Fresh and tasty...crab&rice dish was good but heavy on the rice...monk fish was delicious...dirty fries with crab was the highlight!

No doubt it tasted great. But the fish was gone in 2 bites, smallest piece of fish I've ever seen, for the price and the wait, go home and cook for yourself. Shouldn't be surprised in Cornwall I guess.

Not your run of the mill Fish & Chip shop, but they do still do a good fish and chips (it was Hake when we went). Where they stand out is the rest of the menu. The buttermilk monkfish is delicious, love the fish dog, and lots of other really interesting options. We liked it so much we were back three days later

Probably the best fish and chips I've ever had. I had the catch of the day (dog fish) which was delicious and you could tell it was really fresh. All the extras, including the mackerel scotch egg, were great too. Definitely worth a visit and would recommend to anyone!

We visited landed last week. The menu looked amazing, the only place we could find fresh fish (surprisingly). We first went on the Saturday and were told that they had sold out but would be open at 12 the next day. We moved our plans around so we could make sure we could have the lobster roll which we were all craving! We turned up at 12, they were not yet open so came back at half past to be told they weren't ready until 1 which was frustrating as we had already been waiting. We then came back at one to be told they wont be open until 3. Luckily they noticed we had been in and been turned away 4 times by this point so they did serve us. The food was amazing, the lobster and mayonnaise roll was a very generous serving well worth the price (£15). Did find that the brioche roll was a strange choice felt it would have been better in a baguette style but still amazing. The crab cheesy chips were amazing too! All in all would return but hope they have sorted out any issues they were having! Would recommend if you are looking for modern fresh fish.

First resturent in our Cornwall trip. The food, service and atmosphere everything is good. The outdoor seating is perfect for a sunny day and the cocktails are fantastic. Would definitely recommend if you are near lizard point and looking for good food with perfect spice. Last but not least the chef’s special cake is a must try :)

Made the trip especially from Penzance, and CHIMICHANGAS Tex Mex did not disappoint. The food was absolutely delicious and the price was very reasonable. Definitely coming back, and I would highly recommend!

Spontaneous meal out and was not disappointed. Good beer selection and there was so many nice options that it was hard to decide what to eat. Went for fish tacos and pulled pork and pineapple tacos which were both amazing! Had a side of chips which were so good but struggled as we were so full. Lovely staff and nice outdoor seating in the sun.

Food was great, though it took around an hour. They did give a heads up before ordering on the kitchen times. Friendly staff.

Wow, this place is great! So glad we stopped by after our long hike. The chicken tinga tacos were to die for, and I have never seen Jarritos in the UK but they are my favourite when I travel in the US. Service was also good, nice cocktails, would really recommend Chimichangas :)

Fantastic all round. We has Baja fish tacos and the beef chimichanga plus sides along with desserts wine and beer. Everything was so good. Service was clam and efficient. Food was wonderful and we ate too much. Atmosphere was comfy for families and adults. We felt the overall cost was good value for money. Nothing from the freezer here apart from the ice-cream. We will be back.

Got invited by friends for happy hour, which is two for one on cocktails, even on their specials. The atmosphere was so happy and easy. The speciality cocktails were so delicious and unique(I had the ‘bramble’). The bartender took such pride in his work. Everyone in the restaurant seemed happy. There is even an area for children to hang quietly aside. The energy was fantastic. Loads of vegetarian/vegan options on the menu! I didn’t know what to expect, and what a wonderful experience! Cheers to our bartending mixologist!!

Early evening for dinner for 3. Attentive service, and drinks and food arrived quickly. Pizza was delicious and a very decent size. Happy to package up leftovers too. Had the Belgium waffle to finish which was lush too. A little tucked away treasure with a delightful atmosphere.

We took our son for birthday dinner. We found Piatto as staying locally and couldn’t believe that we had stumbled across such a gem. Home cooked food at its best, amazing surroundings and the nicest family run business you could dream of finding. We were so happy with our experience, we booked to return the following day for Sunday lunch (just the 2 of us) and were not disappointed. 5 stars all day long…. This place is going to shine!

We had a wonderful meal at Piatto Bistro this evening, would highly recommend it! The food was delicious, really tasty and fresh, and the staff were so friendly, including accommodating the requests of our two children. The setting was peaceful and beautiful - it’s a hidden gem which deserves more people to know about it. We hope we’ll be back in the future!

A very beautiful, family owned restaurant with absolutely stunning food, fresh ingredients, local products, friendly service and very welcoming atmosphere. The owner Donato and his wife Lara (and the whole family) are welcoming us always with a smile and a nice conversation! In short: definitely my favourite restaurant in Cornwall! Thank you for all the nice experience with you! I also highly recommended the Pizza on Wednesday and Thursday. Probably the best Pizza in the UK! Just delicious!

We called in for an impromptu lunch en route to Helston and thinking (as the existing car park information board says) this would be a cafe. It was better than that, turns out this is a real bistro with delicious food and a very friendly chef! Can't recommend the quality of our Sunday lunches enough, both dishes were great.

A lovely little cove village, speckled with thatched cottages. If visiting, park at the top car park and walk down to the heart of the village, past an attractive offering of houses and a small, still used Chape, bordered by a bucolic landscape. You will arrive at the cove, a working environment and you will be tempted by fresh crab sandwiches. Don't resist. I didn't. They were delicious. This a junction for coastal walks, so stop and take it in...A really nice little place.

We went to this magical village on Easter Sunday. The village is beautiful, and those sandwiches were out of this world. We had crab sandwich 5⭐️, lobster wrap 5⭐️ and the prawn sandwich 5⭐️. We love seafood, and those sandwiches do not disappoint you. It was delicious to the last bite. Highly recommend. Thank you.

I brought two lobsters from this place and they were very fresh and good value for money. The staff there are very helpful and splitter for me and made them ready to eat.I would highly recommend this place to all if you are in the area, good selection of seafood and all fairly priced. I would definitely return to this place, first class service.

Amazingly fresh fish, straight off the boat. Very good prices for such fresh quality. £1.30 for an oyster. Wow that is good. The quality of the shell fish is exceptional, they tend to only sell high yield products. About 70/30 which is great. A 1.3kg crab will net u about 900g of white and brown meat which is exceptionally good value. If u bought a crab in a supermarket ud be looking at double the price with probably about a 50-55% yield

Been here several times now while on holiday in the area - lovely little business. Excellent fish and seafood and good prices. Simple but very tasty crab sandwiches made on site at decent value for the generous portions. Also happy for you to pay for your goods and collect later if you’re going to the beach/on a walk. Would recommend.

I don't know if all the complaints are genuine... But all I do know is that my food was absolutely beautiful. Lovely and hot, tasty, value for money. I waited longer than the average waiting time, and that's why I took 1 star off. I will be ordering from here again soon and can see myself editing this review and adding that extra star. If I could give minus then I would but as I can't they can have. A very over deserved one, food sound great and should be great but what I recieved was if not cook able for a toddler and woukd still be better, ordered the lamb special which should contain lamb donner, lamb shish and lamb kofte but what I received was cooked t rex arms and some peppers that had rotted for a few years before served or sent I'd honestly rather eat a toe nail, my misses got a fish and chips and well the fish looked like a 87 year old cricked flap it actually tasted the same absolutely awful again and absolute waste of time, the only good thing was the chips which I'm sure they ordered from another take away to give them some sort of respect, if you order here you are as much of a clown as these so called chefs and business owners, FYI we called foe a refund and well the TRAINEE Offord me down the shop to settle the refund rather than send fresh food aswell as a refund, fair to say pictures were sent to just eat and we are expwcting a full refund. I opted for the "Large Chips" and they were certainly Large. The depth of flavor was sublime, just the right amount of crunch through the outer skin, before being met with a soft creamy inner. I would certainly return to this establishment, and I rate it highly in my quest for the perfect chip 🍟.

Extremely disappointed :( chips were unbeatable. Like they take them straight from freezer into oil for few seconds. The person who been taking order was very loud and didint put any attention to what I was saying, I had to repeat myself few times before he get what I wanted to order.

I ordered a bacon roll which was perfect, small battered sausage which was nearly cold, cheesy chips which were sting cold I spat them back out straight away. Regular battered cod which the cod tasted very watery the batter was soggy and not very hot, i also ordered a mushy peas, they were the hottest item I ordered however the mushy peas had no seasoning and tasted of flour. Not impressed and will never be ordering from here again.

Tried before and good enough to order again. Ordered two cod and chips with curry sauce £27 - that price tag alone should warrant a very good meal. It was total garbage unfortunately. Luke warm, the batter was more watery than the curry sauce which was thicker than custard. Chips were bland, stale in textuere and cold in the middle - how's that even possible? Left most of it, gross. Safe to say I 100% don't reccomend this "eatery" and won't be using again. And most annoying part is that it cost a stupid amount of money, Wetherspoon down the road do a FAR better fish and chips, and they're not even a "chip shop" Pitiful

Went there at 5.10 pm for some chips, and a few other items. . I wanted "HOT" chips. What was given was not fresh hot chips. Possibly from afternoon servings. I tasted some, flavour seemed good. They had just put a fresh batch of chips in the oil. And I said I would wait the 8 minutes for it. When I arrived home, with the "" hot"" food, that I placed in a sealed bag to keep food warm. The chips they gave me where, NOT HOT, But the same older cold chips I originally did not want... My families 1st, and ONLY, AND LAST TIME. WAKE UP TO GOOD SERVICE FOR YOUR CUSTOMERS.

Great place! Food and drink delicious, lots of choice. Goats and rabbits outside are lovely. Place was busy, unfortunately we had to move as sat next to a door that was constantly being opened and left open by children who were in and out, quite frustrating but worse because I have a pain condition that is aggravated by cold and I was right in the draft of the door. Not enough parking for the amount of seating, we were lucky to get a space but it wasn’t easy to get into!

We visited this place for the first time on our way to Cornwall on a road trip, and our experience was good. It is a very nice little place with a nice sitting area outside and animals. It is not a very typical place that you expect to find on the side of the road. It is a little bit pricey, but once there, the food was very good and tasty. My partner and I ordered "the ridiculous share" for £19.50. It was a big portion and enough for two. We both enjoyed it. We would come back for sure. Dog friendly but they have to be good with other dogs, because there is a loose dog on the premises. #travelwithtentbox

Lovely food, massive portion, we’ll be having the smaller option next time for sure. Lots for kids to do, inside and outside seating. Goats to feed with free goat feed available. Caution for anyone who doesn’t like dogs, there is a lovely German shepherd running free, she’s very friendly and won’t approach you unless you call, But some may still take issue. Parking is haphazard. It would be great if they could put some half posts down to create spaces as some people seemed to really struggle with the lack of markings 😂 Pricing for extras wasn’t unreasonable but also charging the same to add clotted cream as whipped cream as an example seemed odd giving the difference in respective costs of the products. You’ll be looking at approx £12-18 per person depending on your choices and drinks. All in all a very pleasant experience.

Fantastic little place! The owners and their staff were nothing but friendly and welcoming. Making my daughters visit extra special! The food was absolutely incredible and the animals they have there are friendly and great fun! I would highly recommend you stopping by this place and supporting these people! 10/10

Full five stars on this place from arrival to finish. Attended as group of us home educating, lovely setting and environment and play area for the kids. Friendly efficient service. Lovely delicious food , I ordered the banofee crepe, my daughter had a pancake stack of strawberries and syrup, and my other daughter had pancake stack with Oreo filling and cream. They loved how they could pick and choose their fillings. Hot chocolates are devine. And free coffee tea refills. Couldn't ask for more. And lovely to meet the friendly dog so well behaved. I'll be back for sure. Thank you

We booked a Friday afternoon slot for our sons birthday party. We chose the self catering options only as most of the children attending were pre school age and wouldn't make the most of the build your own pancakes option. It's great you have the choice. Even though the weather was wet, the kids loved playing outside in the well equipped park. The parents enjoyed the drinks options and Free refills on tea and coffee. We did order pancakes. Absolutely incredible! We absolutely recommend this place for laid back family time with good food and play area.

I don't do pancakes! but my wife and daughter really wanted to try this place as they do gluten-free pancakes. The atmosphere was really friendly and we had a warm welcome from the staff on arrival. The menu was extensive, full of crepes and pancake combinations. Free refills on hot drinks were a really nice touch for this grumpy bloke. The owner took time out to come and chat with us. My daughter's partner is in a wheelchair and found access to the venue and facilities easy. The goats (free goat food available) and rabbits outside plus an absolutely gorgeous friendly dog helped make our visit a little more special. I still don't do pancakes, but I'm more receptacle to them now as I know we'll be back!

Reel pizza is amazing! Last week 4 friends and I went to get take out pizza and the restaurant was just about closing but the manager and staff were so accommodating. They put the ovens back on for us and the food was well worth the wait. Delicious!! We enjoyed having a drink and a chat with the manager who also recommended a few places to visit while we were in the area. I cannot rate this place enough!

Nice quality extremely small for the price Very and definitely didn't fill up up Very Very small for the price. Also. the toppings were not what we ordered. All 4 had the wrong toppings. By the time we realised we had got them to our picnic place and it was too late to do anything about it.

Great service from the staff , the tapas we ordered was delicious and very filling ! Our friends that ordered several pizza were satisfied with their orders too. Would definitely recommend.

Just what Helston needs. Great menu, good value, quality food, excellent service and family friendly - all under one roof in a very nice, modern and relaxed atmosphere. Definitely will be a regular venue for me and my family!

Came up from London to see family was recommended this place but wouldn't rush back ordered 7 pizza's for takeaway got two wrong no sort of discount and thought the pizzas very expensive 😱

We had our first takeaway from here last night, the pizza was nice but it was much smaller than other takeaways and in my opinion not value for money.

We booked the hotel randomly, the pictures on the webside pg looks fab but I think they're supose to changed them because the room we got wosn't looks exactly the same I think the pictures they're from the time when the hotel was open .Everything is very old inside and filty we were in the room 2 min the smell was awful !!!Carpet with a lot of stains on it I was afraid to take my shoes a lot of scratches in the wall beside the windows, doors floors cracking, room was stinks!!!!Disgusting place !!I'm not recommended this hotel ,Just disappointed. Many Thanks for the girl in reception to sorted to us the refund she was very nice person..

My dad and I are staying at the angel inn in helston Cornwall and to be honest we are not having the best time. On arrival we couldn't get in and we came to the hotel before closing time and we was able to get access. We had to come back the next day. The room is nice but the TV dosent work and we can't get WiFi signal so there is not much to do. We asked for help to get the TV working but it was unable to be fixed and the man that was helping us said he will have to call someone in. Also we got told that we will be getting breakfast but on arrive they said it would not be happening. So me and my dad had to travel to get breakfast somewhere else. I don't really know if it was worth the price we paid for. There is nothing to do in the hotel room.

To start with a positive, the lady that booked us in was very helpful and welcoming, very much appreciated. As for the room, well, it was clean which is great. Other than that they are pretty diabolical. I appreciate the age of the building, but our disappointment went beyond that. Our roomed needed to be completely redecorated. The walls in parts were damp, the tiling in the bathroom was not finished and the overall finish was very very cheap. We were also unsure on the native Indian pictures on the walls, very odd. Would I say again? Nope, not even if it was £40 a night. Some serious money needs to be spent to bring this building up to spec.

We went to the Angel hotel for a valentines meal. The welcome was warm, the ambience was warm, the service was excellent and friendly. BUT the food.......they need a quality chef, someone who can rebuild there reputation because it was the let down of an otherwise excellent evening. We will be going again in the knowledge that the landladies are working to improve the food aspect of the hotel.

The room and decor need to be bought up to date. Bed uncomfortable, towels too small, pillows flat, bathroom hadn't been finished by the looks of things half untiled peeling wall It needs some love put back in to it. The lady who booked us in was lovely very friendly and chatty

A reasonable hotel but requires upgrading. What makes it is the very helpful and friendly staff who can't do enough for you. The food was good especially the breakfast which is made to order. To be honest a bit of investment and it would be 4 or 5 star hotel.

Dirty and dilapidated the photos online are not representative of my room 5, a small double, mold and dirt in shower/ensuite, paint peeling, damp damage visible, ( I have the photos) No restaurant. Moved as soon as I could find somewhere else.The few staff were very friendly, bed was OK and clean linen.

So lovely to have a Meadery in Helston; who doesn't like Mead? The traditional Meadery Chicken was delicious, although I would have liked to see some coleslaw with the salad. There was also a supply problem with the mussels and they weren't available. The option to order a smaller portion (as in other Meaderies) would be appreciated as not everyone can eat half a chicken! Apart from these mainly teething problems we enjoyed our meal, will definitely return and can only praise the attentive staff.

Had a meal here Saturday evening, tables are very crammed together felt like you was sitting on top of each other. As for the food it's nothing like traditional meadery, chicken was dry, fish tasted like nothing! No flavour at all just grease. Presentation when the food arrived just looked like they'd chucked it in a bowl no effort. The food was so greasy I even had oil swimming in the bottom of my bowl. Garlic mayo tasted sour and gone off. No atmosphere in the place. Won't be returning will stick with the usual at newlyn.

Visited tonight and the ambience is great. Restaurant was quiet, one other family. Starter was good but service then nose dived. Considering we were the only table we approached the bar for service, which was fine, as table service was lacking. Chicken then arrived for main course, very red and bloody! At this point we called it a day and left! Looked amazing and staff apologetic but food not up to scratch.

Friendly staff and tasty but average fried food can't make up for a restaurant that feels like it needs redecorating, I realise its a medieval vibe but sticky and peeling floors were the only lasting memory. Like I said though the staff were lovely.

Really dislike giving such a good review especially when they are just on our doorstep I know we will struggle to get in here come the summer.... however this place is amazing the staff are excellent I didn't see one member hanging around if anything they didn't stop running around the whole time I was there very attentive. Food was exactly what I expected and the kids menu is a brilliant extra not something offered in other meaderys. We will be back.

Dont expect a similar meadery experience to others. first off staff were friendly and the place was nicely decorated however the food was very very poor, as an example chips are literally no different to a frozen bag you buy in store and they are cooked in the oven and the rest of the food follows suit, I was so disappointed as had expected a similar experience that I had at other meadery's like newlyn etc sorry but horrendously overpriced for what we received and felt ripped off.

Two people Infront of me and I've been stood here 20 minutes, girl behind the sandwiches is in no rush at all, takes more time putting on a new pair of gloves every minute than she does on serving. and her helper out the back hasn't done anything to hurry her up either. Can fit two sandwiches at a time in the toaster. Customer in front of mes sandwich had fallen apart before she even got given it, I wouldnt have accepted it. I just popped in to grab lunch, didn't expect to be here this long. Sort it out!!! Actually embarrassingly bad, could have gone round the counter myself and made it faster and better. Jeez

I now know were the rudest shop assistant works. Rude and frosty is not the words. I only asked if she,was open as it was early and she was putting food out. She never spoke that time just glared at me worse than my wife. To be fair manger was spot on but you only get one chance for a first impression. If you don't like ppl don't work with them

This small deli cooks fresh and fragrant authentic central american lunches which with the bright fresh interior, music and welcome smiles transported me into a sensuous eating experience. Pure joy!

It’s soo gooood! Lovely staff and delicious food. Recently had their cheese/veggie tostada (drool), and visited their PYSK Falmouth collab for some sea food, and it was all top notch high quality food. I will say I would love a hot sauce option on the counter. My bestie is from Mexico City, and I used to visit Mexico often, and the only thing maybe slightly missing at Pica Rico is the spice option. I’m just being picky - I love it here and highly recommend!

A real find. This newly opened Deli offers a range of quality products . The owners are clearly committed to providing not only the products ( a lot of which is made fresh by them) but also any advice you might need concerning them. Very well worth a visit

Absolutely amazing fresh food. Messy but delicious

The food served here is nothing short of amazing! The Taco’s are absolutely mouth watering. Fresh locally sourced produce - supporting small suppliers with quality in mind. It’s obvious the owners have worked very hard and put a lot of meticulous thought into designing their dishes. I highly recommend this Deli which is such an asset to Helston. Definitely worth a special visit!
