Pub
Restaurant
Located in the peaceful Parish of St Kew, the St Kew Inn is a charming historic pub that exudes quintessential English countryside charm. Dating back to the 15th century, this stone-built establishment boasts original Renaissance-era features such as low-beamed ceilings and grand open fireplaces. The inn offers a wide selection of wines and seasonal beers, along with several dining rooms and secluded garden spots for patrons to enjoy.
This Inn serves excellent food in a beautiful location and has now gone on my favourites list. I am allergic to Rapeseed Oil and Shellfish and my dietary needs were completely catered for without fuss. The serving team were friendly, helpful and professional. I have recommended it to several people.

One of the nicest pubs I've been to recently, full of character and with great food. The staff are also really good, attentive and patient. The burger isnt great, too many toppings that don't work together. Other than that, the rest of the menu was amazing, and the homemade "bounty" dessert was probably the best dessert I've ever had.
Sam H — Google review
A beautiful Cornish pub off the beaten track. The Sunday roasts were exceptional – hot, tasty, and plentiful. The meat melted in your mouth. It wasn’t a case of quantity over quality – it was both quality and quantity. The dessert options were spot on and rounded off a perfect Sunday lunch. Service was fantastic – unbelievably accommodating of a food intolerance, with staff going above and beyond to make substitutions as if it were no bother at all. A must-visit. We’ll definitely be back!
Henrietta W — Google review
As always we had a great time at St Kew Inn ( do you hear a but coming?) BUT the owners need to be so much better on their menu in terms of allergen information. The pasta dish has no mention of gluten and another dish which mentioned clotted cream as a sauce is listed as dairy free! Come on, we all deserve a bit better
Andy W — Google review
We had heard about the excellent food at this pub and we called in last year. As we are staying in Chapel Amble we planned to go for a meal here. Finally made it on a Saturday night. I’m glad we booked, it was so busy however because of the layout of the pub it didn’t feel packed. The pub itself is stunning. A lovely quaint building but so cosy. We were welcomed as soon as we stepped through the door and shown to our table. We were offered sparkling, still or tap water immediately. We had our menus and drinks orders were taken quickly. A very special mention for the staff who were brilliant. We all order the rump steak and it said it came with mushroom, tapenade, baby gem and chunky chips. WOW! What we got was a total taste experience. The steak was cooked perfectly (for 3 of us- medium rare). Mum felt hers was a bit too rare and the staff whisked it away and shortly bought a new steak, fresh chips and were so attentive. Fabulous service. I have to say, it really was amazing. The steak was succulent and so tasty, the mushrooms smoked and topped with something that tasted fabulous but we couldn’t agree what it was! The tomato and garlic tapenade was a taste revelation, and we would like the recipe. It was fresh and so packed with tomato flavour. The baby gem- sounds simple, but was half a gem lettuce topped with freshly grated Parmesan and sprinkles of tasty crunchy onions. The chips were worth the visit alone; seasoned with some secret recipe that was unique and sooooo good. And the “cowboy” butter, was a sauce made with magic. Again, I have no idea what is in it but boy it was fabulous. The cost, a very reasonable £27! We are from Birmingham, we have Michelin starred restaurants that couldn’t do a steak as well as this. And it wasn’t just the steak, every element was a triumph. I’ve eaten some fabulous food, from all over the world but this, for a pub in a tiny village in the middle of nowhere….. was just amazing. Seriously if you are anywhere near this pub, or even if you’re not, it is a must! Stunning, amazing, brilliant and very clever. A meal none of us will forget in a hurray. We will be going back. Please give this place a try. And a quick note, we stopped in for drinks previously and the home made treats were so tasty too! Thank you St Kew Inn.

Called in without a booking and four of us given a Table right away. Food brilliant, including the best Steak I’ve ever had in a restaurant. Staff great. Lovely location too, with the added bonus of Hugo the resident Lab.

We went there Tuesday 7th October for a meal, were greeted with smiles and a warm welcome, seated in the dining room a beautifully lit room, a beer of Proper Job and honestly the best fish and chips I’ve ever had! Made haste and go there asap…

Booked for lunch and it was lovely. Both had a roast which was plentiful, hot, tasty and reasonably priced. We had great service from Sharon who looked after us. She was very quick to take our order and nothing was too much trouble. All done with a smile too.

I visited this restaurant for the first time and I was really impressed. It was clean and very friendly. The waitress ( Annabelle) could not do enough for us, she was very friendly and polite and handled our queries very professionally. It was a very pleasant experience and lovely food. Well definitely visit again

Great value for money, meals are £6 if you eat before 6pm. Good sized portions, menu is just the right size, caters for all. Just a few beers. It's all very basic, but ideal for a quick bite, service was a little slow. But overall,a winner
Lesley K — Google review
We had a table a few weeks ago. Annabelle met and greeted us, showed us to a cosy corner table and gave us menus. The food was pretty standard for a place like The Callywith. Breakfasts are plentiful, evening meals are very good and freshly prepped. Excellent service!
Domino 5 — Google review
We have visited on many occasions on the off chance, and even though the restaurant is empty they turn you away for one reason on another. There's only one chef, 20 customers, he should easily be able to cope. The time previously it was the computer was not working so the orders couldn't get transferred to the kitchen, pen and paper worked for hundreds of years before computers. I feel the management needs to be trained, and then train their staff. Very poor.
Elizabeth B — Google review
Some of the best service we've ever received at a restaurant. The team were really attentive and we had particularly great service from Sharon. We had two veggie carveries and two gammon carveries too, which were absolutely delicious! Will definitely be returning 🫶🏼🤩

Arrived waited for drinks prior food had to carry to our table after waiting for 10 minutes before we could sit at the table that was free and reserved. Main came quickly, at first we thought what great service until took 30 minutes to remove our plates. Had to call someone over eventually to ask for dessert menu , no one at the bar or view of staff prior. Waited and waited after another 40 minutes no one came to ask for our dessert order as well as drinks. It was table service. The whole meal took one hour and 45 minutes due to waiting for service. Only eat our main. We are locals and would of been a great pub to drop in regularly for food. Great food, terrible slow service which really ruined our experience. The Inn could of made more money from us and sadly lost out.

Booked a table at very short notice, the owners were very accommodating and welcoming. It was really busy even on a Monday night - which is a good sign! Plenty of parking, food was epic with huge portions!!! They were dog friendly, and the owners were professional genuine and so friendly. I would definitely go back when I'm in cornwall again :) thanks for the hospitality

Excellent food at a reasonable price. Our dishes were Salmon Poke Bowl. Side dish of onion rings and a large gammon. Delicious. It cost just over £51 including a pint of larger and a pint of Guinness.

A lovely pub. Food was fantastic, but very large portions, although you can have a take away box. Great value for money, pub is wheelchair accessible. A little cramped when full but that is more that compensated for by the friendly atmosphere. My parents used to drink there in the 60s and it was great to see that the pub is still packed. A great visit if you are in the area.

Lovely friendly pub for a motorhome stopover. Great food and very friendly service. Unpretentious and comfortable a lovely evening. Delicious menu, tempted to try it all! Chatty locals and a peaceful night for us! ( Toilets were immaculate!) Thank you !

I came here for a meal out with my wife, brother and his girlfriend. We didn't book but just kind of found it nearby our campsite and thought we'd go out for dinner. We arrived, parked and headed in. It was fairly busy. We asked for a table and we're seated. Wooden chairs, clean table, carpet, windows, a big TV. They swiftly brought us menus, we ordered drinks, they brought the drinks. I had a tribute and it was fantastic. So far, so good. They took our food orders. It came quite fast. It was all pretty nice. The lasagne had very little meat in but tasted good. The katsu curry was very spicy but the menu didn't warn that would be the case. But it was all enjoyable enough. Then it all went a bit downhill. There was clearly a quiz starting soon. We aren't locals, and perhaps it's wrong to judge a pub on one occasion, but this was our only occasion so how else can we judge it? When we arrived and asked for a table there was no mention of a quiz. The place quickly became packed and rowdy. We couldn't hear ourselves talking. The staff didn't come back to take a pudding order. They just totally forgotten t about us. After maybe 45 minutes I went went to ask for someone to take our pudding orders. Someone came but didn't know what the cheesecake of the day was. My sister in law ordered it on chance as they clearly weren't going to go and find out. Turns out it was a Toffee flavour. She hated it. My pudding was excellent (the brownie). My wife ordered sticky toffee pudding with custard. It came with ice cream instead. So it started well but they became uninterested in us when the quiz was starting. We quickly paid up and left. Nobody came to ask how our puddings we're or showed any interest in the fact that it wasn't all eaten. Maybe another night would have been a much better experience. Overall I've still given 4 stars as it was pretty good.

food was really nice, however the service wasn’t up to standards. waiter and barmaid were nice and friendly but it was severely understaffed, resulting in almost an hour wait for food. atmosphere wasn’t brilliant as there were some people at the bar who were speaking on the phone loudly and also swearing. all in all, the food was the best bit of the evening!

Inn
Old Inn & Restaurant is a charming whitewashed pub housed in an 11th-century building. It offers a British menu featuring homemade pies and real ales. Visitors praise the generous portions of food, with some describing them as "Man Vs Food" size. The establishment also boasts a great selection of beers and ales at reasonable prices. Guests appreciate the friendly and welcoming staff, making it a gem of a pub in an authentic Cornish village setting.
Came here twice when we stopped in the area. Very friendly welcome and the service was great. Food portions are massive and the food is excellent had fish and chips the first time. Second time had sea food platter and both was a massive portion and really nice. My wife had dirty chips with pulled pork and that was also nice.
Scott W — Google review
Lovely pub food, homemade grub. Portions are massive and worth every penny. The staff are very nice and there is plenty to choose from, they have a main menu and also a specials menu on the wall. They also do a carvery on a Sunday. They serve food all day seven days a week. Absolutely lovely food
Kelly T — Google review
We were directed to this establishment by the holiday resort we stayed at - “The best Sunday Carvery you will ever have”. Well…. No. The building must be listed and in beautiful the decor and set up is charming and cozy. We were shown to our seats in the pub, and sat near a rowdy bunch who had been at the bar for quite some time - the noise killed the atmosphere and a nice relaxed Sunday Dinner was out the window. The food on the other hand, leaves much to be desired. The best item on the plate was the broccoli and the Yorkshire Pudding, sadly I drowned it all in the cold gravy. Not to mention the overcooked meat. Potatoes looked amazing but were soggy and over cooked (probably cooked in the morning and then left sat in the warmer. Swede had WAY too much white pepper. Needless to say, we half ate and didn’t have dessert. Sadly, I would not recommend this establishment.
Jason N — Google review
Great decision to go here. They had a wedding on and many reserved tables but they still found me and the family a table. I've hardly ever left food on my plate but couldn't finish it, huge portions and proper home made chips.
Jozef P — Google review
We called at the Old Inn today (13/10/25), as it was recommended to us by the our friends in Perranwell Station. I have to say the food and the staff are fantastic. We arrived a bit too late really as it took us a while to get there, rather than turn us away the lady behind the bar went and spoke to the chef who was more than willing to cook us what we wanted. We chose the homemade Steak and Ale pie, what a treat it was too, definatetly the best we have had, and coming from Lancashire folk, that is a compliment. The locals in the pub were very warming and gave us an insight into the local area etc. We will definately be returning everytime we are down in Cornwall Thank you staff
Paul M — Google review
Great country pub with a good choice of real ales , the Sunday lunch was amazing, and the Guinness & steak pie was one of the best I've tried , it gets busy so book if you can , there is a small car park but you can also park on the roads nearby.
Dale W — Google review
We came here on our first night staying in the area. When we initially walked in all of the tables in the bar area were reserved so we thought we had lucked out. After speaking with the very friendly bar lady she showed into a massive restaurant seating area. There was a menu and a specials board to choose from. I ordered the steak & ale pie with chips and I can honestly say it was delicious. The flavour of the pie was outstanding and the chips were moreish. All the food that came to the table was excellent quality and the portion sizes are massive (especially the burger)! Great place to eat. Great value. Highly recommended. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Booked in for the mid week roast 2 adults with 4 dogs. Received a very warm, friendly welcome. Food was excellent I had the roast beef and my mum enjoyed the roast lamb , thankfully chose the small plate as would never have managed a large portion! very reasonably priced and excellent service. Will definitely be back. Highly recommend

Gastropub
Restaurant
Nestled in the picturesque Cornish village of St. Tudy, St Tudy Inn is a renowned gastropub led by chef Emily Scott. The cozy village pub offers a warm atmosphere and features simple, rustic cuisine that celebrates local produce from Cornwall. Housed in a beautifully renovated 17th-century building, the inn seamlessly blends historic charm with contemporary elegance.
Recently visited with my partner and the experience was superb from start to finish. Staff were extremely lovely and welcoming and the food was amazing on a cold January evening. We were notified during the meal that live music was going to be playing so instead of going elsewhere, we decided to prop up the bar and stay for the duration. Thank you for a great experience and we will be back soon!

My first time visiting St Tudy Inn for Sunday lunch and it was wonderful. Lovely setting, clean with a mix of character and contemporary decor. Nice to see the woodburn lit, so cosy. Service was great, lots of smiling faces all eager. Food was lovely. Ample size portion. So much so I couldn't even entertain a pudding. Would definitely recommend when looking for a Sunday roast

A. Maze. Ing. Booked this on the way back from Newquay, completely ad-hoc - and very glad we did. Fantastic food with beautifully balanced flavour profiles; decent portion sizes, but not so much that we felt over stuffed. All beautifully presented, and the service was warm and genuinely friendly and lovely. Only wish that we lived much, much closer to make a return visit - but we'll certainly make a note if we're in the area again, and recommend to friends. Thank you!

The St Mabyn Inn is a traditional pub located in Cornwall, offering a cozy and welcoming atmosphere for visitors. Despite some initial concerns about its appearance, guests were pleasantly surprised by the charming interior and friendly staff. The menu features delicious options such as mussels, calamari, burgers, and loaded fries. Visitors praised the quality of the food and appreciated the attentive service.
I went with a friend who has been before and recommended it highly and I was not disappointed. A very friendly and cheery welcome as soon as we entered, a lovely old fire with huge logs added to the welcome. Lunchtime menu was different from the usual pub grub with a good range of choices including, I was pleased to see, veggie options, one of which I had and thoroughly enjoyed. Service was quick and served with friendly humour. Outside I loved stone steps leading from the church straight into the pub yard. They had forthought in days gone by. Highly recommend.

I visited on a Sunday, I didn't partake of the lunch being served but the portion's looked generous, and the aroma was mouth watering. The barmaids were friendly, cheerful and attentive. And the real ale was well kept. Lovely beer garden, with friendly locals. Highly recommend.

Bar and waiting staff were young and wonderfully ever so professional. It was a pleasure from start to finish, the carvery chef was knowledgable and friendly and can cook a blinding roast dinner. We don’t often go out for dinner especially Sunday roast as nothing compares to a home made roast but this did. We moved into the area from Truro a few months ago and we have already decided that this place will be visited at least once a month for a carvery roast and we will use for evening meals during the week when and if time allows. For me to be impressed takes a lot and this pub has the lot.

Nestled in the heart of Bodmin, Flory Restaurant and Café offers a delightful dining experience that perfectly blends a sunny ambiance with an extensive menu. During my visit, I enjoyed the scrumptious eggs florentine while my mum savored a hearty steak accompanied by spinach, mushrooms, and chips. The menu is impressively diverse, featuring everything from tapas to sandwiches and larger entrees like fish and chicken. The service was impeccable; the staff struck just the right balance between being attentive without being intrusive.
What can I say about this fabulous restaurant. Absolutely deserves a 5 star review! My husband and I visited for my birthday meal and were not disappointed. The staff are fantastic, so attentive, polite, helpful and kind. The atmosphere was exactly what we hoped it would be, welcoming and relaxing with music in the background and a small wood burner on tick over. Our three course meal was sublime, I had the calamari, duck and chocolate tart and everything was so well flavoured, cooked to perfection and tasted excellent. The finishing touch was a happy birthday chocolate on my dessert which was so thoughtful. Absolutely wonderful evening.

Will presented restaurant at the top of Bodmin central near the museum. Good service but small lunch portions and £7 for a tea. I expect more food on my plate for the price.

Every time I come here I am blown away by the delicious food. We like to make our own 'tapas' selecting a few dishes and sharing between us so that we can sample a larger range of the menus when we visit. I have been here recently for both lunch and evening menus and can't rate the food, the service or the atmosphere highly enough! The evening menu we ate upstairs with glimmers of opulence on the middle floor and homely feel on top floor. lunch I've eaten in the red room at the front ground floor and the small courtyard which was beautifully sunny on the day and both offered a comfortable setting to enjoy their delicious food. You would not expect this restaurant to be in Bodmin! I can't recommend enough. Pictures from my lunch this week
Leonie C — Google review
Chose this place for our date night, after being highly recommended by a friend. We went on a Tuesday night, so weren't expecting it to be busy, but we were the only ones there. Starters were lovely and sadly, the best part of the meal. We ordered a San Miguel and as it was priced at £6, we stupidly assumed it would be a pint, it was just over half and came from a bottle. Onto the main, we both chose steak, who can get that wrong..... Medium rare it was not. It had been pre sliced and was so tough/chewy, so guessing it hadn't been left to rest long enough. My husband's at least looked vaguely pink. Mine however was pink at one end and grey at the other. That would have been disappointing enough in itself, but it was on a bed of wilted spinach and mushrooms then what seemed like the largest ladle of shallot and cumin puree. It's all we could smell and taste, beyond overpowering and ruined what was already a lacklustre plate. The highlight was the starter garnish of halved cherry tomatoes that I think had been soaked in the loveliest vinaigrette accompanied by pickled cucumber. The young lady that waited on us, was smart and professional. She came to ask if we were finished and I said "Yes, thank you. I'm sorry I couldn't eat the steak as it was far too overcooked and chewy" She apologised, so I said "no need, it's not like you cooked it!" We both laughed. Will not be returning and would not recommend unless you like a good selection of overpriced wines. Side note: The decor was fit for Dracula himself, dark walls, low lighting, blood red velour seating and far too many mirrors. All this was accompanied by an overly loud Spanish man singing his broken heart out. Romance at it's finest.

Popped in for a coffee and a breakfast on Saturday morning, not being familiar with the local cafes, we were really glad we picked this one. Nice looking building, very clean inside. The breakfast was amazing , literally 10 out of 10 ! Great local produce , extremely well cooked. The only very slight negative was that perhaps the lattes could have been served a little hotter, but would definitely return again for the full Cornish breakfast.

Tonight I went not for the restaurant but the downstairs wine bar and cocktails. The tapas sharing board was amazing. We split that and the meat board between 4 of us. Plenty to go round for snacks. Cocktails were 6 for £50 which was a great saving also. Lovely setting, staff and food. Would definitely recommend for a classy night out. Free parking behind the cinema, dennison Road and priory all within the same distance

Fish and chips takeaway
Fast food restaurant
Restaurant
Welcome Stranger is a popular chip shop located in the village of Lanivet. The restaurant offers a welcoming and clean environment for both dining in and taking away. Despite arriving close to closing time, the staff remained friendly and accommodating, ensuring that orders were still freshly prepared. Customers have praised the quality of the food, particularly highlighting the deliciously crispy and non-greasy chips. Additionally, the establishment caters to dietary preferences such as gluten-free options made with maize flour.
Very good quality and price. Coped with a coach of 35 people with no problems. Photo of the light bites, comes with a drink as well.

Well a little disappointed. Went in and my partner had the chicken burger and I have the cheeseburger and chips. Well the burgers were really dry and so were the chips, the chips tasted like they were reheated from the day before. All in all won’t be going again. Shame it was lovely when Carol and Lester Bale owned it.

Only found this place on our recent stay in Bodmin. Saw it had good reviews so went to get some food. Wasn’t disappointed. Fresh tasty fish, good chips. Decent portion sizes. Staff were friendly, seating area inside. If we’re in the area again we’ll definitely be coming here.

Best fish and chips I've had for a long time. I went for steamed fish and didn't regret it at all. Deserts are huge! We were staying a few miles away on a campsite so opted for the restaurant rather than takeaway. The staff were all lovely and very welcoming.

My dad and dined in to eat dinner on Monday the 11th August 2025 and we asked for the chips and sauces first and then our puddings after. Instead of that, our waitress came out with the puddings first and we asked for them to be put back in their fridge ready to be brought to us when we were ready for them and to come back with our plates of chips and sauces expecting the chips to be ready straight away. We were then left waiting for the chips and our sauces for about 25 minutes - 30 minutes and once they had arrived, the chips looked pale and my dad asked our waitress if he could have some bread and butter as well. After about 5 minutes, he went up to the counter to ask where the bread and butter was to which he got the response of do you want brown or white bread? After about another two minutes, the waitress brought out both colours of bread and slammed the plates onto the table and then walked away. Once we had finished our chips, two people brought our puddings out straight away and whilst eating the my pudding, I found one of the staff members hairs in it. I noticed around the restaurant that this service was happening to other tables as well and we have made the decision that we may not return, which is a shame as we usually enjoy coming in to eat.

I thought it was absolutely brilliant the food is great and their sticky toffee pudding is so soft and fluffy .I also saw someone who said they had been going there for 60 years. I would definitely recommend this to anyone.

We're down for a holiday and found this fish and chip restaurant. They do gluten free every day and the food was delicious. So we came back the next day
Carol B — Google review
Absolutely amazing best fish and chips I've had in a while! I can't have normal fish batter and 9 times out of 10 the gluten free batter is made with rice flour which for some reason doesn't agree with me. So I chose this restaurant as they do a steamed fish option but when we arrived the man who served us actually said the gluten free batter is made with maize flour which I can have hooray! Hence why I am raving about this place, lovely atmosphere and nice little restaurant. I'd say book before you arrive as it's busy because the food is so tasty. My boyfriend had the normal battered fish and chips and said it was also the best as well. Definitely recommend and can't speak highly enough of how friendly all the staff were. Also there's parking on the front and a few spots round the back but can be tight and full.

The pub takes pride in its tasty food and brews its own distinctive ales, creating a unique and enjoyable experience for visitors.
We come here every year during our winter getaway! A proper local, with friendly staff and owners (Gary and his son); very friendly patrons who always chat to us. Often have events on, live music, darts competition and quizzes. A great selection of local drinks and hearty pub grub in the restaurant.

This was like stepping back in time- in a good way! I have never seen so many cups! We had puddings and what a fab menu, the Sundays were perfect in size and taste. We didn’t eat any mains (although tempted the puddings were more tempting) the restaurant area was full and the bar itself was heaving- lovely local pub and very welcoming of us and our kids as we were passing by.

We saw this place being recommended in a travel guide and decided to come here. The way here is definitely not what we were used to but the narrow streets are worth it! Inside the pub has a very cute interior and the waitress is incredibly nice. She let us try the ales so we could decide better which one to order, gave recommendations and was very nice to chat with. There are some vegetarian food options and we had the vegetarian burger and chips. The burger was ok but the chips were very good. In the back they have billiard and some cute kid books. The toilets are clean. You can take ale, wine and other cute stuff like homemade crafts home with you. Really recommend the pub!

Wonderful, atmospheric "proper" pub. Good, well priced menu and the Sunday Lunches are second to none both for quality and price. I have never had a better Yorkshire pudding 😋 Lovely friendly atmosphere, they make you feel most welcome and the service is great. Will be back next year and will make sure I book so I don't miss out on Sunday lunch (we got lucky and had the last two today 😁).

And absolute banger of a pub. Fab selection of ales. Love the Blisland Gold! Food is excellent. Would recommend food from both the restaurant and the bar menus. A good local atmosphere too. Loved the place and only a 20min walk from where we camped at South Penquite Farm. Ask for a flight/thirds of you want to try the ales.

Been coming to this pub for 3 years whilst staying in Blisland We just love the vibe of this pub great atmosphere and very friendly locals and staff. Huge selection of real ales and ciders available all the time! To say we couldn't get a seat both sides of the pub in late October says it all really! Will continue to return year on year 10/10

Five of us went last Sunday, for lunch. We all had a roast lunch, and the food was delicious. The meat was perfectly cooked, and really tasty. We had several types of veg on the plate. The roast spuds were perfect. And the Yorkshire pudding was melt in the mouth quality. The waitress and the bar staff were really engaging and chatty. Really nice local beer as well. We were pleasantly surprised with really competitive prices. We'll definitely be going back very soon. Thank you

Well, what can I say? Due to my work I travel the country and I’ve eaten in a lot of Indian restaurants and none of them have been worthy of a review from me until now. I knew this would be a great establishment the moment my food was handed to me by a guy with a beaming smile, and noticed the poppadoms presented in a neat shop-branded paper bag. We got to our Airbnb and cracked open a vegetable pathia- vindaloo hot and packed full of veggies, a chunky and flavoursome paneer shashlik, fluffy and perfectly crisp garlic naan and the most incredible garlic rice we’ve ever tried. Portions so plentiful we’ve even got some left for tomorrow. What a great find in Bodmin.

I visited this by place with my mate when we were down in Bodmin and in search of the Bodmin beast and needed some break. It is in the Main Street and there is off street parking but we parked in the street as we weren’t aware of the off street parking issues The Indian restaurant is quite unique in the sense it is not just Indian food they do, they also do steak. The ambiance of the place is very nice, the staff are very welcoming and the place is quite large with many seatings available Like I said the menu is very varied and I suppose as this is Cornwall it is trying to appeal to everyone We ordered starters and main my mate went for the steak with chips and I stuck to Indian food Any Indian restaurant outside London will always be different and people who are used to London ‘Indian’ restaurants, this is a step down in spicy etc. again it is Cornwall and this is taken into account The food was delicious and was well cooked the steak o am told was spot on and cooked to perfection The service from the staff was very good, they were attentive and for the order right with no issues The prices are slightly on the expensive side, but going by the location and comparing other restaurants in the vicinity it is economical So good prices, delicious food (not that spicy , so if you are someone who likes spicy food this may be a disappointment) ample parking and is a good place to chill

Located in Torquay, the Hole In The Wall is the oldest inn in town, dating back to 1540. Situated on a quiet side street off the Strand, this historic pub was once a debtors prison and got its name from how food was passed to prisoners through a hole in the wall. The pub offers a wide range of drinks and serves homemade pub classics.
Oasis for ales and conviviality. Friendly regulars welcome strangers. The blonde barkeeps have sunny dispositions. Fascinating memorabilia fill the walls and ceiling. Nice beer garden attached. Pleasantly dark inside so allow for your eyes to adjust if coming in from the sun!

So we came here for food after Google and trip advisor both recommended, don’t think they got the memo about food no longer being served! Regardless we stayed for 2 rounds and it was the most fascinating place we’ve been to! There’s a taxidermy lion in the back garden, we’ve never come across one in our lives so this was a surprise! It’s a beautiful place with lots of fascinating and quirky things all around, the toilets were very clean and there are lots of drinks to chose from. The red haired lady who served us was just fantastic, we never caught her name but she was just brilliant, really friendly and welcoming! We’re local and we can’t wait to come back!

What an aptly named pub, at first glance there is no obvious pub! But just look round the car park and you will see the entrance. Found this place during a day out with the little ones. Great pub. Was somewhat quiet due to the time of day so I've had to guestimate what the atmosphere would be like when it's busier so I've given 4 stars for that, everything else gets a 5. Drinks were spot on, as was the service but what we really went in for was a spot of lunch and this is where the review gets a little one-sided because there was a standout star of the show. I've got a weak spot for a fish finger sandwich. I don't know if it's the kid in me refusing to accept that I'm old(ish) or whatever but as soon as I see anything remotely close to a fish finger sandwich on a menu I go back to a time when life was simpler. No bills, no boss, just fun and games. A fish finger sandwich and the A-Team on TV, joyous times. Low and behold, there it was on the menu. A fish goujon sandwich. Not quite Captain Birdseye on boring, white bread but that's cool because I'm older now, my tastes have changed and I'll happily trade paying bills and the other boring stuff of growing up if it means getting a "posh" fish finger sandwich every now and again. I get the simplicity of my childhood and a more mature bite to eat at the same time. The question is, how nice would it be when it arrived on my table..? Good grief, this place pulled something out of the top drawer. Spot on, absolutely spot on! If you like the simplicity and the comfort of piping hot fish between 2 pieces of bread and you're in the vicinity of this place, well, you know what to do..?

A wonderful pub in the quaint Cornish town of Bodmin. Our Impromptu visit occurred on a warm Sunday afternoon when we found ourselves searching for a place to have a late lunch. We had limited options as we had a dog and many places didn’t allow them, luckily for us The Weavers did. We ordered a variety of different dishes and we received our meals quickly. The food was deliciously homemade and no one had anything to complain about. The staff were always checking up on us and even offered to get a bowl of water for the dog. I would add photos of the food but it was gone before any of us thought to get a picture! I would recommend this pub to anyone in the Bodmin area. The best example of a classic British pub, five stars!

Nestled in a charming spot, Pots is a delightful eatery that promises an inviting atmosphere and friendly service. On my first visit with a friend, I was impressed by the attentive staff and quick service. The menu offers generous portions at reasonable prices, featuring delicious options like jacket potatoes with tuna and mayo, as well as hearty breakfasts that are simply divine. During another visit while traveling from Looe to Port Isaac, I indulged in their large breakfast plates—each bite was perfection!
My husband and I planned a trip to Bodmin for charity shop shopping, so I looked around for a restaurant for us to stop at. I came across Pots and looked at the reviews. I actually respect an owner who addresses issues/defends their business. I purposely picked this restaurant to make my own review about it. I'm glad we went! It was such a great place. The food was so tasty and plentiful! The prices were very reasonable. The staff served with a smile. Unfortunately, some restaurants bad reviews are from people unhappy in general, so they need to complain. I couldn't find anything wrong with the place...the bathroom is small, but that can't be helped , it was very clean. I had the bacon, brie & cranberry panini...chefs kiss...it was perfectly balanced in flavour. My husband had the big English breakfast, without mushrooms or tomatoes. He said it was gorgeous and loved the sausage, saying it was lovely tasting . He was impressed with the bread. I had a vanilla/caramel latte, and it was fabulous. We will definitely be back as we live 25 minutes away, and it's worth the trip.

Pots do the best breakfast around, both for value and flavour. It’s hard to find a large breakfast these days with giant portions, but the ‘mega’ breakfast is so good. Giant plate and 2 door wedges of white bread. The menu is 10/10, whatever breakfast or lunch you’re in the mood for pots can no doubt pull it off. The photo of my chicken salad sandwich I had for lunch doesn’t do justice for the flavour and size of it (took the photo half way through eating). They have loads of books, pencils / crayons and games for children to be entertained, and you won’t wait long for the food so little one was happy.

Empty when we arrived but quickly filled up at lunchtime. Friendly service, plenty of seating on two floors. Cafe had it's fair share of regulars which says a lot including one lady who was on first name terms with the staff, who, in her broad Cornish accent shouted 'I'll have my usual, and don't give any of that brown bread or we're going to fall out.' Brilliant! We did have a chuckle as we left.

This charming eatery offers the convenience of online ordering for pick-up or in-store dining, although it's unclear if their seating is still available post-pandemic. Guests rave about the generous portion sizes, with even the smaller options being quite satisfying. Travelers from London have shared delightful experiences after stopping by following visits to attractions like the Eden Project.
My wife and I moved to Cornwall 10 years ago. We have tried fish and chips all over north Cornwall and all of the top chefs restaurants and take aways. None of which come close to Bell Lane Fryer. Friendly staff, value for money and convenient. We always have Haddock and chips for one and that is plenty for two. Recommended.

Upon arrival, we already had a bad taste in our mouth as the staff didn’t welcome us in, no one even said hello, they were too busy gossiping and chinwagging, that should have been our sign to turn around and exit. The food was bland, no one had seasoned the food with salt and vinegar as per the request(it was written in black and white, ordered on the kiosk). The fish was greasy, soggy, tasteless, tastes frozen, will cost you about half a mortgage ,nothing was fresh about it. (Refer to image 1 to see the pool of grease). Secondly, please refer to image 2 for the ‘BBQ ribs’, well, where do I start with the description of these ribs, I think the photo really does speak for itself, however I’ll add the description of the taste, these ribs were dry, fatty, tasted about 6 hours old. There was no sight of the BBQ aspect on these ribs. The mushy peas tasted as thought they came from a can, they were bland and not exactly edible. The battered sausage wasn’t greasy, was nice however tasted like your typical battered sausage. The can of Diet Coke was excellent , would definitely recommend to everyone, it was chilled and spot on. The bottle of Rio, again, was outstanding, I think this factor may be due to the staff not having any involvement with the preparation of these items. The fishcake, just like the battered sausage, was nice however nothing to shout about. The chips were decent, I have had better and I have had worse, they would have been even better if there was salt added as per the order, again, this information was printed black and white on the receipt and the order that said ‘chefs’ had received. The buttered bap was outstanding as it was shop brought, the ‘chefs’ who had NO HAIR NET ON, didn’t have much involvement nor input with the preparation process of said item. I think we are rather lucky to not have had hair fall in our food.

Sadly always uncertain about this chippy . Can be really nice but can be inedible too. Last Friday was the last time we are prepared to “ Chance “ it. On 28th March we paid about £27 for fish n chips twice with a tin of pop and Mushy Peas. The mushy peas were in our opinion watered down so much that they were effectively not much more than Pea Juice . At £1.60 and inedible that’s not acceptable. So, we WONT be going there again . If business is so bad to need to effectively rip customers off then what else could you be up to Mr Chip shop owner ????

Popped in today to get the 50/50 fish and chips for my grandad and it was a massive portion. Never been disappointed with the food. Great staff, always friendly. Small amount of parking outside but a large carpark available across the road which is free after 4pm. Plenty of seating available to eat in and an extensive menu bound to find something you like.

From London stopped over after Eden Project. The Fish and chips were delish! Really great portion size. Chips were great and the fish perfect. Was cooked on the spot. Hubby ordered for takeaway but changed mind to sit in but was told was too late as had already paid. Apart from that hiccup food was enjoyed.

The Golden Temple is a charming and authentic Nepalese restaurant that offers a unique dining experience. Despite not being a 5-star establishment, the service has its own charm, allowing guests to feel at ease and even bring their own drinks. The food quality is exceptional, with generous portions that left customers satisfied and even with leftovers for another meal. Visitors have traveled from far places to taste the delicious and traditional curry prepared by Mrs. Barry, making it an unforgettable culinary experience.
Unbelievable that this should be as overlooked as it is. Mr Barri makes it clear that service will not be 5 star and yet that's the charm of the place. We felt at ease enough to open our own drinks and not wait to be waited on. The quality of the food more than makes up for any other shortcomings. The portions are generous too, we filled doggy bags with what we hadn't stuffed ourselves with and had a whole other meal out of it. Overall a very authentic Nepalese experience!

We travelled from Weston super Mare to Bodmin to stay overnight. We have tasted Mr Barry's Cuisine before and were not disappointed in the slightest.. Mrs Barry was the head cook for the evening and the flavours were Devine. The best food to date we have ever tasted! If anyone wants to taste traditional curry then this is the place to try. Well I am not sure how to rate this as the food was really tasty. However it appears to be run by one chef & a waiter. It will probably be one of my more memorable eating experiences as it resembled Fawltey Towers in some manners. We arrived & they sent us to the local pub for 30mins as our table booking wasn't ready but mid order at the pub we were asked to rush back. The waiter was a really nice guy but appeared to be on the verge of a nervous breakdown. They had a help yourself honesty bar - more because they couldn't staff it & we scored the last bottle of red wine. Our 8:30 booking ended with our food arriving after 10pm but it was delicious. Really it was a bit of a hilarious experience. If you are in Bodnim & fancy a curry and have a good sense of humour & plenty of patience, then this might just be for you.

Tasteless bland food. Service OK, but the nan bread takes on the appearance of a Frisbee. If you eat here and are off to the beach the next day order one and have fun throwing it to each other. I've been to India, but I doubt anyone in this place has, or if they have it has been a while. AVOID...........

Wanted a option for lunch when we were at Bodmin and wanted something cooked and not chilled in the fridge Google suggested this place and we drove at 12 which is when it suggested it would open. Initially we couldn’t find this place as we were looking for a take away restaurant with bricks and mortars. This is a van shop It is located inside some property which has a gate and we saw a queue of cars waiting outside this gate and we joined the queue We got let in and there are two people serving I ordered just chips and asked for mayonnaise which I had to pay I think 65p I asked for a receipt and the person was bit hesitant but did give me. The food tasted nice, freshly made The place is busy as there were plenty of cars After buying the food you need to drive somewhere and then eat it which we did I would say the prices are reasonable taste is very nice the staff are really friendly and worth more than a two visits

Fincy fish and chips, so we thought we would try Golden Fry after reading reviews. Queueing for the drive thru was about half an hour, but it was nice and warm in the car, and no leg ach standing about We had 3 fish and chips, large 2 peas and curry sauce, and 3 sausage, and it can too £49 which i thought was reasonable. Fish was delicious, and the chips were nice, not oily. The potion size was ok, and also.

Great fish and chips The best fish and chips I've had for a long time. Have visited 4 times and they've been beautiful every time. Sausages, curry sauce and home made tarter sauce are delicious as well. Possibly best in Cornwall.

Great fish & chips. This is a drive through chippy and there was a queue but that's a good sign in my view. The queue moved fairly quickly.

“Best Fish and Chips in Bodmin” I’d have to say I totally agree, fish was spot on with good flavour but not overly limp but not too hard either, chips were on point from fat soft in the middle and crispy on the outside to the little crispy bits as well, overall I have majorly enjoyed my first time at Golden Fry and I can promise this won’t be my last, the drive thru system totally works and beats having to park up and stand around by a mile. I’m actually surprised the que isn’t a mile down the road cos it was very good value for money. Keep up the good work guys n gals.

The Masons Arms is a fantastic little pub that offers wonderful food and has reasonable prices. They have a diverse menu to choose from, including an excellent Sunday lunch. The atmosphere in the front bar is friendly, and there is plenty of seating at the rear of the pub for dining. Additionally, they have a lovely decked area with beautiful views of Bodmin Jail. This venue caters to sports lovers with multiple screens available.
A lovely little place in Bodmin. Parking right outside which was a big plus. Then inside a great choice of beers on draught. But saw The General at 8.4% ABV was a must try. A fantastic drink not so easy to find on draught. We then ordered a nut roast and a triple meat roast which came in a well reasonable time. The roasts certainly delivered. In my long life I have had many great roasts over the years and these were right up there. Fantastic choice of vegetables and huge Yorkie. The toasties as well as meat were spot on. Wife loved the Veggie nut roast as well. Everything was Great from start to finish including the service as well. Great staff. Dogs allowed as well which is always great please see the pictures of my dog who was sad we didn't share. 5/5 l way through. Chef should be well proud.

Really nice pub with a tasteful mix of Ye Olde and modern decor. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. I visited for a Sunday roast. Sadly, they'd run out of pork, but the beef was a generous portion and good quality. Could have done with slightly more veg and roasties, but I still left there full. Will definitely return 👍🏼

The food was very good and the service was impeccable. The only downside was that, being a Friday night, the atmosphere was quite loud with more people drinking than dining in the restaurant area. Because of this we decided not to stay for dessert and left after our meal. Overall, excellent food and staff, just a bit noisy for a relaxed dinner

Deffinatly worth a visit and not far off the end of the Camel Trail.

Fantastic place for a Sunday lunch..food was amazing. Venue was incredibly clean and tasteful. Staff were very polite and efficient, amazing value for money...the only downside was definitely not enough veg... especially green veg..... cauliflower cheese was awesome.

Staff were nice but the Doombar I was served had gone off, and although they gave me another drink they didn’t seem all that surprised or apologetic. Ordered a pizza as I read a review saying they were good; they were not. They had used tomato puree as the tomato sauce instead of passata, which was just too overpowering with the rest of the flavours. Also the pepperoni was low-quality and the pizza was undercooked.

The Pad, also known as 720 Games, is a restaurant that has garnered considerable attention due to its unique offerings. It is said to have a significant impact on attracting people to the town center of Bodmin, where there are various historical attractions such as the Bodmin and Wenford Railway, regimental museum, and churches. The restaurant's food is highly praised for its extraordinary flavors; dishes like Yorkshire pudding pizza and maple chicken & bacon waffle burger are particularly delightful.
First time having food from the pad and it’s incredible! I had two specials: Yorkshire pudding pizza and maple chicken & bacon waffle burger and they were both gorgeous! The sweet and savoury came together so well and everyone inside was really lovely and polite. It was also nice that you can pay cash or card on delivery or in the shop. Will 100% be coming back 💕😊 x

I came here as part of my job, supporting young people with extra needs. Our group were young people aged 13-18 as well as a number of adults working with them. We had a great evening! The young people were able to play on different consoles as well as play pool, drive mini diggers (remote control) and have a go at inflatable axe-throwing and nerf-gun shooting. We all had food and it was better than i expected for a gaming cafe, I would come here just for lunch! It was accessible and inclusive and not too noisy for everyone. The vibe was, have fun, chill out, try stuff if you want to ☺️

The food is amazing, embarrassing ordering milkshakes having to say the silly names but it's all fun and games. The food and drinks are reasonably priced. McDonald's is a well-known fast-food chain famous for its burgers and fries. The Bodmin location recently showed support for the community's Pride celebration by decorating the restaurant inside and out. Despite encountering a rude customer, the staff remained polite and gracious, exemplifying excellent service. Customers appreciate the quick service, especially when ordering through the app for takeout. The younger staff members are particularly praised for their politeness and efficiency in delivering excellent food promptly at this busy yet clean location.
Came here after 2 bottles of wine on my holiday… i’ve always said a cheeseburger from maccies sobers you up! I was right! We went through the drive thru on this occasion. No one in the queue ahead or behind us so clearly a quiet spot on a Tuesday evening. I was served very quickly! I enjoyed my meal whilst we charged our car in the car chargers across the car park (my sober fiancé drove, not me!!!!!) Many people were revving their cars which i didn’t like. But it was a experience as my food was yummy. Only thing i’d suggest is emptying this bin cos it was a bit full! Thanks 👍

This is second time I’ve been here in the last 2 weeks. First time service was very slow. So have come back again to see if any different. I would say this is the worst McDonald’s I’ve ever been to anywhere in the world and I thought Morocco was bad. Staff have very poor manners and very nonchalant. I would say the management need to train the staff better. As a customer I was made to feel like I was a nuisance interrupting their many social moments. The only plus this place has is it’s a new build and from outside looks fresh and clean

Deborah L — Google review
As a traveler, this is a convenient stop for me to charge my car, and I always order ahead on the app to save time. However, the service speed is a real gamble. Sometimes my order is ready almost instantly, but on other occasions, I've waited more than 10 minutes. While I can see the drive-thru is always busy, the inconsistency for app orders is frustrating.
Mike B — Google review
This place is a terrible example of a McDonald's I would avoid at all costs. It's very small, unclean tables and extremely poor service. They deliberately taken down their WiFi to prevent customers from using the app to use their loyalty points or caim offers and discounts!!!! Manger whilst polite was un apologetic and said NO. The waso and flys bu,zing around the carpark have no where else to go. I will never visit this McDonald's again. If I hadn't had such helpful service at other stores I would ban myself from McDonald's alltogether! I will be writing to the LA Trading Standards and McDonald's HO.

Had a takeaway delivered on 05-6-23 Ordered a mixed starter that was burnt and dry it was ribs, chicken & prawn toast, the spring roll was ok but oily. Next came what was meant to crispy aromatic duck, which was soggy, smelt horrible & didn’t taste much better, so left it after 1 pancake. The mains a crispy chili beef & beef chow mein tasted horrible & was covered in jelled substance, didn’t look very appetizing, left these after a mouthful! After using them since moving to Cornwall in 2017, don’t think I’ll be returning. So disappointed

Normally the food is really good, however today whilst eating my chow mein, I noticed a piece of metal in my food, I simply took it aside (mistakes happen) although, when I. continued eating I spotted a bug in my food as well, this made me feel quite sick. I’d give the medium Cornish pasty a 6/10. Whether it’s the soft dough or lack of pepper inside that’s the issue, I’m not sure. The inside tasted bland too. I liked it wasn’t greasy, fresh hot and the ingredients tasted clean, but didn’t excite me and wouldn’t go back. Staff were super friendly.

Dropped in for a cup of Earl Grey and cake while visiting Bodmin. Beautiful building with the shop to the front and Cafe to the rear. On first appearance entering the Cafe you might think that there aren't enough tables BUT there is a larger area to the left of the counter, through a corridor. Very pleasant, clean and inexpensive with good service.

Very nice modern and comfortable cafe behind the shop selling baked goods. This was originally the Council chamber room. We enjoyed lunch here. The food is made on the premises with cakes and pasties to take out also. Very friendly helpful staff and delicious food.

Domino's Pizza - Bodmin is a popular fast-food chain that offers an extensive selection of pizzas and various other dishes and sides for both delivery and carryout. Unlike some mixed reviews, customers have reported being able to place orders effortlessly at the physical store, receiving prompt service and being informed about a 10-minute wait time. Anxious to satisfy their hunger, they returned exactly on the given mark to find their pizza ready.
Food is always good here. I give the atmosphere a 2 because, I mean, you don’t stay there and eat lol. Staff can be hit and miss, but that’s normal for a place like dominos. I live too far away for delivery but it’s still hot by the time I get home.
Macy H — Google review
Full of young lads messing around been waiting over 30 minutes for them to correct my order hopefully 3rd time lucky.🤞I'm still waiting. The young lads are in the back swearing very loudly. Not impressed.
Ann-Marie P — Google review
Never actually got a pizza as I was told in store to order online, they refused to take my order in shop. Apparently he was on his own and overwhelmed. If this is the case, put two staff on minimum. Rediculous that you walk into an open store and are refused custom for doing so.

Took a bite to find bits of wood in my pizza 🤢
Amanda B — Google review
The pizzas are really delicious and all the staff is friendly especially the breathtaking young woman with the red hairs and golden-brown eyes who really seems to be a pro. Unfortunately we were staying only two weeks in Cornwall otherwise we would order here a pizza all year round at least once a week. I give Domino's 4 stars because there is some space for improvement: we ordered 5 times several pizza two of them with burger sauce but they forgot the sauce 3 times. Fortunately I checked the pizza outside the store and they could add it. But this shouldn't really happen. Otherwise the pizza would deserve 5 stars.
Imre C — Google review
If you're from London you will get some worst dominos in the whole country the most dry pizza ever had you would get a better pizza from a value line in a supermarket 0/10 called them but they offed no help Follow up to this post after talking to the manager tom he was very helpful refunded my order & could not apologise enough for his staff treatment & was extremely helpful 10 out of 10 to tom for being a great manager

I mainly order at Tops pizza but this was all that was available as it was late at night but I was glad I made that decision, I think the pizza here is actually nicer though was abit let down that they only take card however one of the staff offerd to put the order on his card and I would give him cash, anyway the lads there were all friendly and I got my food promptly

Bodmin Chicken House is a popular fast food restaurant that serves up tasty chicken dishes at reasonable prices. The staff are friendly and the restaurant is clean.
Ordered the chicken sheesh with chips. Chips were average but the chicken sheesh was amazing! We ordered 4 small and they were enough to feed our family of 8. The chicken was cooked perfectly and tasted lovely. Went for garlic sauce and it delicious, just the right amount of sauce accompanied with the generous amount of salad. Would have liked a little more tomato but that's a personal preference. The only downside was the wait for the food at the counter but that's probably due to the large order. Other than that, the food was delicious and highly recommend.

Ansome bit of grub to be honest. Popped in on the way back home. Grabbed a burger and a cheesy chips, couldn't fault it. Staff was friendly and well mannered and very helpful. Place was tidy and well maintained. Food was ready withing ten minutes of ordering. Keep up the good work, top job thank you very much. 👌👍🍔🍟

Just had a delivery.., I ordered it at 8:07pm and I rang up an hour later to ask where it was to be told it will be delivered in 15 minutes.., my partner has taken 1 bite out of his chicken shish wrap and the chicken is pink (not completely cooked) I missed a call from you today becauseIwas at work, but rang back and the person on the phone didn't seem like they cared so this issue hasn't been resolved. Definitely won't be ordering from here again.

The Oriental Chinese Takeaway is a great place to go for a quick meal. The food is always fresh and the staff are always polite. The only downside is that the parking can be a bit tricky, but overall it's a great takeaway.
Good quality Chinese food, nicely cooked and very tasty. Not excessively oily, salty or sweet as Chinese takeaway food so often is. We will definitely buy food from here again and I am happy to recommend to others.

Really nice people , did a dish for us that wasn't on the menu as we had a gluten free person with us and explained that everything was freshly made . As we are on holiday we got back to our accommodation and everything tasted really nice . Very surprised ,Curry was a small dish as was rice and omelette and rice dishes were big , just for anyone wanting to work ratios .

Have been here a couple of times now when wongs is shut but the lady that does everything is rude and aggressive. One of the dishes I received was wrong and she told me no its the right one. The quality of the food is shocking. No flavour very bland and looks terrible. And to top it off the Prawn toast is cut square. Avoid at all costs
Tomhjb666 — Google review
How this place is so highly rated is beyond me. Curry tasteless chips clearly left out way too long. Fried rice no flavor and lemon chicken sauce that was as flavoursome as lemsip cold and flu drink. And tiny portions for the price 😔 Very poor!

Seriously, best Chinese I've ever had. Flavours were excellent, ribs were beautiful. Nice lady, such an unassuming looking place but fantastic food.
Scott J — Google review
Where do I start? Lady on desk needs to be trained in manners! No flavour at all in the chicken with pineapple, mixed curry had 1 piece of chicken and 5 pieces of beef, chicken curry tasted like water! Portion size not worth the money! Gordan Ramsey would have a field day here! I would have liked to put no stars but had to put 1, will not be going back!

Subway is a popular fast-food chain known for its customizable sandwiches and salads, offering a variety of health-conscious options. Customers have praised the friendly and hardworking staff at different locations, emphasizing their excellent customer service and dedication to their work. Despite some playful observations about the layout or location-specific quirks, visitors generally report delightful experiences with attentive and welcoming employees who go above and beyond to provide great service with a smile.

This used to be a great spot, but the one member of staff working there (usually on the till) doesn't appear to cope well with the pressure from the high footfall this establishment gets. Today, I witnessed him make several mistakes with orders, which is perfectly understandable, but he then proceeded to punch the wall in front of all the customers.
Jordan J — Google review
What a joke this place is. Subway have it your way, just don’t expect it warm 😂 Ordered one Tex Mex foot long toasted and one Tuna Mayo not toasted on the self service machine and then proceeded to wait. More people came in after me and ordered at the counter while both of my subways were sat on the counter half made up already toasted and going cold !!! The staff then carried on serving two other orders that came in after me and they left. When I finally got my two subways I ordered I asked the staff member why people who ordered after me and another guy who also used the self service machine got served before us and his response was I dunno. I Think they either need new staff or they need better training or just bigger premises so they can have more staff working on the counter. When I finally got home we realised the Tuna Mayo Subway was soggy and limp. Should have gone to McDonald’s instead 😂

Visited on 8th Sept 2025 at about 6pm. I asked a polite trainee for 2 hot chocolates. He asked a senior member of staff how to use the machine and I overheard him say in a rude aggressive manner that a 'cappuccino is as close as he can have'. The trainee didn't even know what to say and just apologised and said the machine was out of order. Subway seriously needs to give there staff customer service training. It's been getting steadily worse for a couple of years now. They also need to learn the menu. It's a shame. It's ran by rude 'kids' now. Sort it out Subway!!

We visit here about 3 times a week .it's always been good.today there was only to staff a newish manager and fairly new girl. it got really busy and it was hard to keep up with customers. we saw a few leave .also there were some annoyed faces .I feel for the staff has there is lots to do .prep the food do specific items .it's Friday half-term it's busy. There should be more staff.sat evening they were low on certain breads,no hash browns .I don't like hearing people moaning .we think the staff work very hard .there are new ones learning and training it takes time .get more staff in the holidays.

The place is filthy with almost every table covered with previous inhabitants crumbs despite 4 people working and very few customers. Sandwich filled badly. No napkins given and asked if I wanted a bag even though I’d selected eat in. All compounded by the light bulb above your head flickering. Not pleasant after a long drive.

Peking Palace is a Chinese takeaway located in Bodmin, Cornwall. They offer a wide variety of dishes, all of which are delicious and delivered promptly. However, the food can sometimes be too hot or cold, so take that into account when ordering. Overall, Peking Palace is a great place to get Chinese food.
I shall go to sleep thinking about lovely, squishy, banana fritters bathed in syrup. We all like this place.Am in hospital right now, with quite a diverse set of patients. Looking forward to working our way through the extensive menu. So many choices...'Tis an enjoyable voyage of discovery. Delivery is prompt, but the temperature of the food can be variable. ETA: Had to bump this up to 5 stars because I've tried new dishes which were perfect. Pork with ginger and spring onions, kung po vegetables & chicken and veg in Scezchuan sauce (not pictured). Thing is,when it comes to Chinese Takeaways which deliver in Bodmin, your choice is limited and in my opinion Peking Palace is the best of those who deliver at the present time.

Had the duck with noodles, great value very tasty and the duck was crispy. Return visit chicken chow mein with dish of bamboo shoots and water chestnuts..Smallest amount I’ve ever had of chicken in a chow mein about a tablespoon the bamboo shoots and water chestnuts was basically bamboo shoots with 3 or 4 slices of water chestnuts all round very dissatisfied

After placing a order of over £50 was told I had to still pay delivery even tho we live on the same road so went to collect, even though it took less then two minutes to get home the food was luke warm greasy over cooked and the rice tasted like chewy plastic the chicken cashew nut and beef tasted of nothing with water sauce and the ribs tasted of nothing but salt!! Will never be back and warn others not to waste your money.

First time ordering. We really enjoyed it.

Desk lady was hard to communicate with, only takes cash, and despite reconfirming twice that one dish was beef with mushrooms we ended up with beef with tomatoes. Food quality was good though.

Ordered food this evening and my experience certainly wasn't the best. After waiting an hour and a half I phoned to see if the food had left, with being told the delivery driver had just left with it. Thinking that it would only be a couple minutes away I definitely wasn't expecting to wait a further half an hour for it to arrive at my door. After paying and getting the food out the the bag it was COLD!! called up to complain and the guy on the phone said he would talk to someone and get back to me. NO APOLOGY! Didn't hear anything after 45 minutes so called back to hear that they have no excuse as to why are experience was so bad and they aren't doing anything about it. Very disappointed to say the least.
Danny D — Google review
Only possible comment - awful!! We had the set meal for 2 and NOTHING was nice. The batter was thick, doughy and greasy and the chicken was dry. The psychedelic sauce was all sour and no sweet. The pancake rolls were filled with grey bean sprouts and pork strips and smelt vile. The beef was chewy and tasteless, and as for the special fried rice I am sure it was reheated, just disgusting and probably a food safety risk due to bacillus cereus All that at a cost of £25 - AVOID THIS PLACE

It may be the alcohol. It may be the random people we met and had an awesome afternoon with, BUT it was definitely a massive contributor having a lava burger here. OMG! Yes, it was £10 and it was worth every penny! You won't need chips with it, as it is full of tasty ingredients and tasted amazing! We had to cheese burgers, 1 lava burger and a kids chicken nuggets ans chips meal In a box. Less than £40. You need to taste them for yourself! Well, worth it!!!

Amazing food, I ordered a breakfast wrap to take away. It was made quickly and with very friendly service. I was given the option of what sauce I wanted inside and was allowed to customize it if I wished to do so. They had an outdoor seating area for people who want to dine in, which consisted of sheltered and non sheltered areas where I was also able to sit while I waited for my food. The food itself was cooked perfectly, it wasn't really greasy which was lovely and was put together nicely, wrapped in tinfoil to keep it warm. The prices on the menu also seemed reasonable. Thank you very much for this lovely experience will definitely go back again.

Lucky House is a hidden gem that offers a delightful culinary experience, though it has had its ups and downs. Many diners rave about the generous portions and flavorful dishes, making it great value for money. However, some have expressed disappointment with specific items like the chow mein, which features tiny noodles and lacks traditional beansprouts. Customer service has been hit or miss; while some visits were marred by a lack of warmth from staff, others showcased friendly service that truly enhances the dining experience.
Really good food and friendly service 👌

Very skeptical of this place as don’t really know many people who go there but I thought yeah why not. The food was, for what we got, good value. Relatively big portions and good flavour in most of things we tried. Would’ve loved some MSG on those salt and pepper chips and real chilli rather than the chilli flakes. Otherwise pleasantly surprised with the food and the price and the delivery driver joined in with the joke we were having when he turned up.
DoubleTapThatDotty — Google review
Shocking food. Shocking curry sauce - I’ll go as far as to say the worst I’ve ever had!! Shocking service when rang up to complain as they just hang up and shout jibberish. Avoid like the plague. 🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢 not even a option to rectify just pure rude
Jeekz A — Google review
Food is nice and portions are generous. Only negative for me is using tiny noodles for chow mein and no beansprouts, not like a chow mein at all (or what I'm used to anyway) so that was disappointing as ordered a second time thinking it might be a one off
Stephanie W — Google review
Portions were generous and super quick delivery on a Saturday night which is great. We were so hungry after saving ourselves all day for this but unfortunately it was fairly average and some dishes were pretty tasteless. We've tried a lot of Chinese takeaways in our time and had many that are super flavourful & taste fresh. For the higher price here compared to others in the area, we were expecting more but that said it wasn't the worst we've had.
Elly — Google review

Food was excellent, really tasty. What let the place down was front of house customer service. A hello, goodbye, Thank you for you order or a simple polite friendly smile would have sufficed. To the young lady in question, so sorry to have put you out by placing an order................................Had a Chinese from there again last night.. ten out of ten for food AND ten out of ten for customer service.
