Where to eat: the 50 best restaurants in Holbox Island

We ordered lobster and shrimp pizza. Both were good, but lobster was the favorite. However, we think it is a little bit overpriced. Live music was good. There were two different bands playing. Plus point, they don't charge tip on the bill! Minus point, we waited around 20 minutes for the bill.

The famous Lobster Pizza at Roots Holbox is an absolute must-try! The flavors are mesmerizing and truly unforgettable. The waitstaff are incredibly friendly, making the experience even better. We loved it so much that we had to visit twice during our stay. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Holbox!

Great pizza. Real wood fire oven. The atmosphere what's great. They had live music. When I was reviewing the restaurant online before going I felt like it would be gimmicky. I was 100% wrong. And it was an amazing place. I'm really glad I went. I highly recommend this.

Pizza was good but I was expecting a little more from the lobster pizza. Probably hyped up too much in videos so I was expecting out of this world and it was just good.

Roots is a pizza powerhouse on Isla Holbox! Such a damn good pizza I was actually shocked. The accoutrements absolutely tipped the pizza over the edge to one of the best pies I've ever had. Staff was friendly, pizza was quick, and drinks were ice cold. Will be back if I visit Holbox again.

Because of all the hype we felt obligated to try the lobster pizza while in Holbox. Neither of us is super fan of lobster originally(especially on pizza), but it really delivered. Tender meat and overall just very tasty. A bit on the average side in terms of service and the place is packed with flies when you get the food. They do provide a cover for your pizza though. All in all a good experience.

We had seen the lobster pizza on a few posts when researching and wanted to try it. We ordered guac, fries and pizza and drinks. The fries and guac came out almost immediately which would have been okay but clearly the fries were for with the pizza which came around 45 mins later. So they were cold by then. The issue is there are two kitchen that don’t communicate with eachother that issue needs fixing. The worst part was the flies, now I’m aware the restaurant cannot control nature however they know they have a problem as they have fly nets to put over the pizzas that they should bring to the table BEFORE your pizza arrives, there are lots of staff standing at the bar doing whatever or sat eating whilst food is being put on the pass with flys swarming and they don’t immediately run over so whatever you eat flies have landed in it, you cant enjoy your food as there are flies everywhere we had to his it uk and went and ate on a bench nearby. The pizza was lovely I must say so no complaints to the chefs but the whole thing could be run better. I’d certainly not of came and wouldn’t eat here again. There are lots of things they could be doing to help the issue like citronella candles. Fans, smokers, had they had all this in place and there was flies I’d be like fair enough but the lame attempt with the odd fly net you may or may not get on the off chance and laid back staff, service without a smile just make it a no for me. Shame as could be really good. One of the young girls serving was friendly and chefs seemed to work hard seems there is a lack of management. Trying to give constructive criticism as it’s a shame. If you want to try, get a takeaway and be prepared for a longggg wait.

Had an amazing dinner here! Our server Nino (don't hold me to the spelling) was very attentive. And they asked up front if we had allergies (which was good since my lady has an onion allergy). We started off with the octopus, and coconut shrimp appetizers, along with fish throat and chichiron appetizer. All were fantastic! Main course we did the whole fish, with the homemade corn tortillas (I am used to crappy US corn tortillas, and normally avoid. But they got me liking these!). Dessert was a chocolate ganache with rosemary bread chips, and a passion fruit ice cream and shortbread. Both of those were mind-blowing! I've continued to be super impressed with the culinary skills here on Holbox!

This place is nice, but it seems to aim too much at Tulum’s upscale crowd, which doesn’t really match the island’s vibe, in my opinion. The food is good and the dishes are refined, but it’s a bit pricey and feels more like a sit-down dinner spot that doesn’t quite fit here — at least not yet. I won’t give it a bad rating, because you can see the effort, but it just wasn’t really my vibe.

Really tasty and fun experience. The food and service were great. We sat at the bar and loved watching the kitchen in action. It is on the pricey side though!

I think the concept here is really amazing and fun. Lots of time went into curating the menu, both for food and drinks and there is quite a lot of funky stuff going on that many US restaurants may not dare try, so appreciate that. The garden was also so well designed and played out the overall experience here is amazingly chill and cool. With that, for the prices you pay to eat here one would expect all food to hit the mark but will admit the pumpkin dish did not. Sadly it was not fully cooked through so was basically eating raw pumpkin. The land was good, but also the lobster dumplings tasted kind of funky but they had this nice lobster bisque flavored sauce beneath to make it taste worthwhile. Would visit for a cocktail and to hang out but I think AMA is a much better choice in terms of food. Service was great!

The food was delicious, however be advised the portions are smaller and price is more expensive, especially relative to other restaurants around the area. My party went into this restaurant expecting this but we ordered the croquettes, some drinks, and the sharing platter of meats. Would definitely recommend the croquettes and meats, and the drinks also tasted quite fresh! Friendly, attentive staff who tried their best to also move the fans closer facing our direction after noticing we were struggling a bit with the heat :) Thank you!

Fine dining: the dishes are thoughtfully designed and well executed. They are elaborate, yet always very well balanced. Five stars fully deserved. Very attentive service.

The food we ordered was great and the smoothies were delicious. I wish there was a little bit more in terms of options for food (we ate there for breakfast) but the atmosphere was 10/10. And I would definitely go back. Our waiter was also very friendly.

The food is amazing (albeit slightly expensive) but it’s worth it if you’re just visiting and want a great brunch experience! Also great location and staff are super nice. A bit busy sometimes but not “too” busy! Definitely recommend!

What a place! Went in for the promising food (which turned out to be correct) , but ended up having a great interaction with one of the co-owners ! In short, one of the best brunches I ever had, good music, good price-quality ratio and owned by great people with the heart on the right place. Really made my day ! Make sure to pass by this place once you are on this dreamy island ✨

We were a big group, amongst the 8 of us we ordered the smoothie bowls, pancakes with bacon and eggs and eggs plate. Great coffees as well. Would come back

Take this review, add your mom’s best meal, your favorite restaurant, and you get a hint of Painapol. Go to San Francisco, Sante Fe, Oaxaca, and find the best menu and I’m telling you Painapol is better. Look at the menu. Homemade perfect bread with carmelized onions, egg, avocado, bacon, lettuce, and balsamic!!! Good lord it was what Mona Lisa would eat. Breakfast is hard because the expected ingredients are limited. So Painapol provides the starting point, gives you choices, and adds them in the right amount and you see why the smallest people leave their plate clean. I had to try the Nutella pancakes. Pretty simple. Like a perfect NY steak hard to great right and distinguish yourself. These pancakes were delectable. Oh, the coffee was arguably the best coffee I’ve had and I’m from Seattle and I have a coffee bar at home and I drink Ethiopian beans with a pour over. Painapol’s coffee makes me hate going home because they set the bar unreasonably high. Hey, you’re in Holbox. You can’t leave without going to the beach, finding a great marg, and having a meal at Painapol. And the best part - world class service. Everyone smiling. Everyone taking ownership of your experience. Gracious employees who are proud to provide the best meal with love-filled service. If this restaurant’s ownership wanted to they could set up shop anywhere and be wildly successful. If you’re opening a restaurant study Painapol. I opened the Belaggio in Las Vegas, Circo, and worked at many others. This place is a masterpiece.

This was by far one of our favourite breakfast places. Portions are so big you can share! They were very accommodating to get us sat at a table with a full restaurant. Staff was so friendly and kind to our tried travelling kids! Would highly recommend

Great food, great atmosphere, amazing service. Presentation and flavors really good. My biggest complaint is they do not have a restroom. They have a sign that says “baño” pointing at a door, the door was closed, the staff told me that it was the bathroom but if it was closed someone was in there. We finished eating and the door was still closed, we waited another 20 minutes and the restroom remained closed and staff still saying someone was in there. I ended up having to buy a coffee at another place in order to use their restroom. Everything was fine and except for that which became a BIG thing, I mean we are traveling and having food, of course we need a restroom, it’s a restaurant! Too bad because the food was really good and the presentation too. Restroom is the only reason I’m giving it 3 stars.

Do not look further for the best breakfast in Holbox! The smoothie bowls were always so fresh, tasty, and incredibly beautiful. Their coffee is great, the lemonades too! I always had a great time there. Thank you!

Overall, the food was okay, but if you're aiming for an Italian restaurant, don't mix in French decor. The dishes were decent, but the quality didn't quite match authentic Italian standards. There's definitely room for improvement.

They catered for my vegan diet and the pasta was unbelievably tasty. It's a beautiful rooftop restaurant with delicious cocktails and great service. Good for groups or date nights!

The place, and with the palapa roof I love, the lights, the Lo-Fi, relaxing music, the Service, the Food, delicious, all AA++. Extremely fresh ingredients. No wonder they have rewards and a lot of great reviews on reading sites. A place has to be really good for me to come back, and I will come back here

Nice and quiet location on a roof top! We ate for dinner and it was absolutely fantastic! They offer a lot of pasta options and it’s hard to decide which to choose! Definitely will come back for the limoncello tiramisu!

Food is excellent. Service is outstanding. Very comfortable and quiet relaxing location. A bit of an adventure and a few flights of stairs to get there but well worth it. Our waiter Fernando was wonderful.

The food was amazing, very authentic Italian cuisine! It was a very good alternative to the Mexican tacos and so on. The waiters were very attentive and the service was great overall. The wine card is also exceptional good. Absolutely worth visiting!

A really nice restaurant, very nearly 5 stars, but the food was a little bland. The vegetables pictured with the lamb were boiled, then chargrilled giving them a slightly soggy texture. The lamb was cooked beautifully and the pasta was great, but could have had more flavour. Nice evening though, thanks!

Good food! Bit heavy on the deep fried but the portions were good and that popcorn ship mighty tasty. Prices a bit higher than I’d have anticipated but the place has a good reputation and this island is on the higher end in general, so it’s about what one should expect. So I’d say worth a visit! We left full and comforted by the good eats

I really don't understand what all the fuss is about. There are much better restaurants out there. Most of their menu is deep fried food — Maybe it's for people who like deep fried food?... The fish wasn't fresh and the fish tacos were disgusting... Felt like a kid had heated "fish strips" in the microwave and tossed them in a pita bread with lettuce and mayo. They are definitely not real Mexican tacos 🌮 The ceviche was "ok" but nothing out of this world. & We couldn't finish the "mariscos soup" as it tasted like old fish 🐟 I don't recommend eating here.

On Holbox's shores, I found my fate, Ceviche so fresh, I had to wait! With mezcalitas, smooth and strong, I thought I’d be tipsy all day long. But it’s worth it, every bite, This seafood spot's pure delight!

Great beach restaurant. Our water taxi driver recommended it. It's not so peicey and it's original and typical. The fried fish and the ceviche were delicious. Buen restaurante playero. Nuestro playero lo recomendó. No está tan caro y es típico y original. El pescado frito y el ceviche estaban buenoísimos.

Service was friendly and prompt. Portions were substantial. We had large mixted cerviche and prawn tacos which enough for three adults. Both were delicious. Be aware it closes at 7.

They have live music, and the shrimp cocktail was was seasoned. The waiters are nice, and therefore a good place to stay.. nevertheless I think it’s overpriced. They don’t accept card though.

We visited this cafe multiple times—often at least once a day! Why? Excellent service, a wide variety of delicious vegetarian options, generous portions, and consistently tasty meals. Alex (the waiter) and Sarah (the cook) went above and beyond, making our stay on this hot, rainy island so much more enjoyable. We highly recommend this cafe to anyone visiting!

Jose was very kind and provided good service. The restaurant is beautiful as they have done such a nice job with the aesthetics. I really enjoyed my meal: I got the Mexican burger. The horchata was very good as well! Must visit while on the beautiful Holbox.

Best in Holbox. A little oasis in the center where you can take a break from the noisy, sandy streets. Relaxing atmosphere: peaceful music, natural wood, and lots of plants. The food is nutritious with homely flavors and generous portions—you won’t leave hungry. The menu is very diverse and they pay great attention to detail. The veggies were crunchy, and you could add as much salsa as you liked. The hosts are very attentive and even made an effort to remember my name. Will come back again!

Great place!! I had the Green Goddess Burger, which was delicious, but let‘s talk about the potato wedges, they‘re absolutely fantastic! I think they were the best I‘ve had in a veeeery long time!:) There are many vegetarian/vegan options! Also the service is a 10/10! Thank you so much! I‘ll be back!

Very tasty vegetarian food🥗 The chips, sauce, salad, eggs, beans and rice were all match perfectly! It was delicious☺️ The atmosphere is also nice, but there are a lot of mosquitoes, so I recommend wearing long pants. I will come back soon!

Must do when you are in Holbox! Skip the overpriced restaurants on the main streets and enjoy fantastic fresh food in a peacefull location. The owners are more than friendly and happy to serve you their delicous meals. Prices are reasonable, nice choice of dishes. We have eaten there 4x in 3 days. 10/10 recommend!

The atmosphere is nice, right on the beach, but initially, they seated us at very uncomfortable low tables near the fire. The food was good, and the service was decent, though the welcome wasn’t great, as it seemed like our reservation was a problem for them. You can’t charge such high prices in Holbox, a place without paved roads or sewage systems, for a dinner in a relatively average restaurant with uncomfortable low tables. Also, the QR code menu on the wooden table didn’t even work. I paid less for a BBQ in Dubai with a view of the Burj Khalifa.

Breakfast and drinks are good that's about it! The breakfast was the only enjoyable meal we had at the restaurant; the dessert in the evening was disappointing. I didn't hear any positive feedback about the food from other guests either, leading us to decide to eat elsewhere for lunch and dinner. The staff at the beach were not very friendly; they were only pleasant in the restaurant. I had to flag down servers on the beach for drinks; those were good, but the server at the pool overlooked me and was rude. I'm not sure if I would recommend dining here, as many other places on the island offer excellent food.

We visited Nov. 11- 14 and had a wonderful time. We were staying on property so it was very nice to walk down every morning and have breakfast. The food was fantastic and the portions were generous. It was also nice to grab drinks or just sit and look out at the beautiful view. Big shout out to the staff! Everyone from the hostess, bartenders, servers, and even mangers all worked seamlessly together. Everyone was very friendly and attentive if we needed something. I can't remember everyones names but Pedro, Julie, several other wonderful ladies & gents serving and bartending! This whole team made our honeymoon so memorable! We'll definitely be back :)

We loved the beach club at Casa las Tortugas. The location is amazing, with a beautiful sunset view. There’s live music in the evening, and the food was really good too! If you’re looking for a slightly fancier spot on the island, this is the place to go.

We had two great dinners at this amazing venue! Very romantic, near the water, amazing view and such a beautiful place for dinner! The food was also very very good! A bit more pricey that other places but very good quality and taste! Also, veggie options for us such the cauliflower, ravioli and more. Thanks for having us!

This place is nice and beautiful. There is not minimal spending, only at least one drink and one plate per person and you can stay the whole day. The food was great! Especially from the grill. The service is very nice too. The waiters find the perfect timing to ask you for (another) drink, they are brighter annoying nor to slow. This place has limited beds for tanning available so be there around opening time.

Fine cuisine, a mixed Mexican and Mediterranean chef designed menu. I loved the atmosphere with top notch service. We ordered provoletta on the grill, it was great, cilantro, garlic & olive oil. Mariposa fish was magnificent and Filet Fish on the grill was really good. Prepare to send ~$1,000/person.

Top notch! Came here last year and had to revisit this beautiful gem! From apps, entrees and cocktails it was incredible! 1. Ceviche 2. Soft shell crab 3. Pork ribs 4. Lobster risotto 5. Ordered the chocolate brownie with chili ice cream TOGO bc we were too full! Drinks top notch definitely a beautiful venue and great attentive customer service. Also cute pup 🐶

Great service and experience overall. Grill Octopus is incredible and staff is helpful and friendly. Wine list could be longer but has everything you need to have a great dinner.

Definitely one of the pricier restaurants in town, but WORTH the money. Hands down the best meal we had our whole time in Holbox. Came for our 10 year anniversary dinner. The risotto is unmatched on the island. My husband got the steak, and we cleaned our plates! Got in with no reservation- but I would recommend making some because they got really busy just after us! 10/10 would go back again. Great atmosphere, walkable from the town area.

We had a fantastic dinner at Piedrasanta :) Royer was our server and he was so friendly, helpful with explaining the menu and he made sure to check up on us throughout the meal. The food was phenomenal and we definitely recommend visiting this restaurant if you're in Holbox!

I think this is a nice place but it’s expensive for what they give you. Flavors are unique but not necessarily great, they were good. Maybe I was hoping for more and was a little disappointed.

Not only is Gavin one of the best looking waiters that I’ve ever seen, but his attention to detail and his service is nothing short of amazing. He is one of the best waiters I have ever had the pleasure of meeting, the food was fantastic. The atmosphere was to die for, and there was such cool ambient music playing in the background. I’m now ready to go out and dance my heart out.

We joined for dinner on Superbowl Sunday in Holbox. We had previously walked by in days prior, and it was more so quiet. But this night it was crowded in the "bar area". We sat in the back, and there were several big screens to see. Walking passed the grill to our seats, we saw some butterflied fish grilling. It looked and smelled delicious. We ordered that (1 peso per gram) to share along with a grilled green onion appetizer. The fish was flavorless and disappointing. The grilled onions were... well, grilled onions. We also ordered a green salad. It was solid. There was a good vibe, probably enhanced by Superbowl Sunday crowd. The most disappointing thing was the Service. The waiter was grumpy with a bit of saltiness. I get that it's a job. I've had similar many times. But, smile, dude.. be happy... be positive .. that's part of the job requirement. If it's not, your manager wrote the wrong job description. You don't work in the factory punching out widgets. You work with people. 😀

Great place to visit for fish and seafood in the town centre. It does have a touristy vibe and the food we had was quite good. It was also recommended on a number of occasions when we spoke to locals, which is a plus! We tried the fish and seafood platter for 2 which was delicious, along with the seafood pasta, and their Zapata Margaritas which were equally tasty. The second time we visited, we wanted a large fish which was brought raw to our table to ensure we're happy prior to cooking, which was a good gesture. We also opted for the seafood soup which was more like a stew however it was tasty, along with some grilled vegetables. Service was good and smiley as well. We were able to pay by card both times with no issues.

The pictures on Google maps don’t do this place justice, it’s great!! The murals on the walls, the setup of the restaurant and the food! Everything was amazing. Well, my chicken fajitas, were pretty good, the shrimp were better. It’s definitely a great spot to enjoy a sit down dinner or post up at the bar. I loved the fresh made tortillas and the drinks were fabulous.

A good option on the island with fresh, local dishes. I recommend trying the fish plates — they seemed to be the best. Unfortunately, we weren’t very lucky with the service: they forgot our cocktails and one of the dishes we ordered.

We had our final meal of our trip here. Almost got the mixed grille but decided against because of the accompanying salad etc didn't entice us. Ended up with the pasta in white wine cream sauce and shrimp. Shrimp was generous and dish was simple. We had queso which we added pico to, and it was the best pico I've had, maybe ever. Queso served traditional with corn tortillas, but we requested chips also. Maracuyá mojito cocktail was great but small. WiFi was non operational and QR code with menus went to a gambling website? Overall good experience and good service. This place will deliver a solid meal but no bells or whistles.

Really liked it here. It wasn't cheap though. I don't even remember what everybody in my group got so I'll just review what I remember. We got the virgin Holbox drink and Holboxito which we're really delicious. I got the pasta which I was a little nervous about having a bit of habanero in it because I am a real spice whimp, but it was absolutely delicious! Rich and flavorful. I'm pretty sure everybody liked what they got even if they weren't completely blown away by it. Good place and it gave us a bit of a history lesson which was good. ;)

The smoked fish sashimi, the pork belly, the tomato salad, and the catch of day: all truly exceptional. Oh and the guava cheesecake. Alberto was an excellent waiter and made the experience all the more special. Can’t recommend this place enough. 10/10

We had the most magical evening at this stunning beachfront restaurant. The sound of the waves, the cozy ambiance, and a perfectly crafted menu made for an unforgettable evening. Huge shoutout to Toni, our fantastic waiter, who made the experience even better with his great service and recommendations. Don’t miss this gem if you’re in Holbox!

Went here for dinner with my wife, absolutely incredible food from start to finish. One of the best meals we've had in recent memory. Tuna tartare and Caesar salad were so good and uniquely prepared. I got the steak, which was cooked absolutely perfectly. One of the best I've ever had, and definitely the best at that type of price point (~$25 USD). My wife got the red snapper, which was on special, and was also incredible. Great cocktails as well. Lastly, Carlos our server was the best. All of his recommendations above absolutely delivered

Our favorite restaurant on Holbox for 13 years and counting, the attention to detail and delicious flavors at Casa Sandra’s Esenica restaurant can’t be beat. From the stunning design, to the warm hospitality, everything about this restaurant is perfect. Big shout out to Oswaldo who is a terrific addition to the team.

Exceptional dinner either à la carte or tasting menu you won’t be disappointed. Quality Service and Hospitality upon arrival is wonderful. Highly recommend casual yet elegant ambiance. For those with dietary restrictions the staff were incredibly accommodating to helping our friends with egg & gluten free options.

Hotel restaurant for Ser Casasandra. A charming fine dining experience on Holbox, with inventive food and attentive service. Dining in the main room of the hotel outdoors if the weather permits. The chocolate dessert is a real treat and the fish dishes were fresh and delicious. Children enjoyed the high end pasta options, too.

We really loved the music they play. The food was ok and the drinks also. I would have wished more flavour in the drinks and less ice. This makes them watery. The location is nice though and the wings on the lower level can be fun for a group.

Nice and relaxed place. Diner was just fine. Really nice staff and the music lovely and not to loud. All together a perfect place to have diner and enjoy everything happening on the street. Fish and vegetarian mushroom taco’s recommended!

Very nice location with views of the street. Customer service was great, our waiter bent over backwards to make our dinner special. There was a bit of a language barrier but nothing some Google couldn't fix. Go here and you won't be disappointed

We loved our experience at Rosa Mexicano so much the first night in Holbox, we decided to return for a round 2 our third night as well (not pictured here, phone was left at the Airbnb). Their signature margarita es 👌👌👌 muy bien! As were the other cocktails we sampled, including a watermelon mojito. If you're feeling like a snack for two, the coconut shrimp is a delicious, light and simple dish. Can't wait to return! Plus, swinging in your chair while the sunshine warms your soul is quite something to experience. Perfect central location that's hip & chic. 🍹

Found this place walking near the town center. It's unassuming looks do not represent it's excellent food. I had the seared tuna, and my friend had the octopus, both were excellent. The presentation of meals is very upscale and is surprising for it's streetside location.

We had a very good breakfast there - ordered a club sandwich which was nothing like we knew it (spicy and full of flavours) and fried eggs that were served with many side bites. Very good place to start your day!

I had a Burrito. It was plenty big and tasty. And cost not too much (abt 160MXN). They accept credit cards. I could have gone back many times but alas was only on the island for a few days

I would rate 3,5 stars. It’s more like a typical streetfood restaurant, very simple. We orders tacos and a burrito. I really liked the tacos pastor, but for the rest the meat was a little bit dry. Compared to other places during our travel in Mexico, we definitely had better tacos. But all in all it was good. Burrito tasted good. But we had the feeling that the meat maybe was not the best they had. Prices are fair.

All the tacos are great and has very quick service. Probably one of the best cheap eats on the island. Very rough and ready but that’s it’s charm. I would avoid the guacamole - it’s a bit watery and full of onion chunks.

Simple and delicious. I would rate it a bit lower than Taco Mokeiras which is over a few blocks. We loved that they had a combo platter for two which allows you to try all the different taco meats. I like the pork chop the best. I found the Al pastor at Mokeiras was better. Our son got the chicken alambres with cheese. Overall it was all good. The service was ok. They turn and burn tables in there so don’t worry if there is no where to sit when you arrive…something will open up quickly. They so not serve alcohol but you can bring your own in. Theoretically they take credit cards but the internet went down while we were there so it pays to have cash on hand. Definitely worth a visit and much easier on your wallet than many places in Holbox.

Cheap and cheerful. Would return however not my first preference for tacos in holbox, food is okay, service is prompt with food coming out only minutes after you order. Food was only on the warm side which could've been heated longer.

Yummy! The tacos and sauces were amazing here!!! They have a nice variety of drinks here and menu items. What I loved the most was their attention to detail. The corn tortillas were not soggy at all, in fact they were firm and had a nice little crunch to them. The meat was perfectly seasoned.

This is my second time to Holbox and much like the first time, Taco Queto became a regular stop for us. I believe it's the only place on the island that serves Taco Al pastor on the vertical rotisserie. They have some great salsas that pair nicely with the meat and I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for some cheap and local Mexican food on an island that consists mostly of pizzerias. As a bonus, I highly recommend trying the home made horchata.

Amazing experience! I had the rib eye and it was absolutely excellent, tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The ambience was great too, perfect for a relaxed and enjoyable meal. You must try the empanadas too they’re delicious! Highly recommend this spot if you’re into quality grilled food!

Everything was absolutely perfect — from the kindness and professionalism of the staff to the way they truly understand what guests need. It was such a pleasure to watch the chefs cook with real passion and love — you can feel it in every bite. The meat was good, but it was cooked more than I requested. The atmosphere was pleasant, but the experience was spoiled by the dogs outside the restaurant, some of which even entered the dining area. It was uncomfortable seeing waiters handle the dogs and then serve food. Allowing customers with dogs to sit and touch other guests isn’t ideal, and overall, the hygiene was lacking.

Great restaurant, lovely interior. Original Argentinian Asado. The Chorizo sausage was fantastic. Also my steak was very soft, even the cut was very thin ( bife de Chorizo) Good wines with fair prices, and as we were there, they had two drinks for one price. Friendly service.

I visited this restaurant with my wife after hearing glowing recommendations from a local, who said it was a “reliable spot for quality meat.” We ordered bone marrow, and asked for champagne to pair with it. Unfortunately, they were out of champagne — fair enough — but the waiter recommended a sparkling wine instead, claiming it was a good alternative. What we received was one of the lowest-quality sparkling drinks I have ever tasted — barely drinkable, and certainly nowhere near the nearly 60 zł / 320 MXN price tag. It was a cheap, acidic bottle pretending to be something premium. We politely voiced our disappointment and were met not with an apology or understanding — but were asked to leave the restaurant. Yes, we were kicked out for simply giving honest feedback on a misleading product. This level of arrogance and disrespect towards customers is shameful. For a place that markets itself as upscale, this was nothing short of a scam wrapped in snobbery. Poor product, dishonest service, and absolutely zero hospitality. Avoid this place. There are plenty of restaurants that know how to treat people right. This one should be embarrassed.

Amazing food, friendly service, cool and modern ambiance. We had the Skirt steak and the Loin steak here, and both were fantastic! The steaks were cooked to a perfect medium rare on the charcoal grill. The accompanying mashed potatoes and grilled veggies were equally delicious, but overshadowed by the amazing grilled meats. Paired with an Argentinian Malbec, it was an absolutely fantastic meal. We saw both locals and lucky tourists here which lets you know it’s legit. Would definitely return, their burger and chicken also looked amazing (from afar)

Probably the best place we’ve eaten on our 3 week trip around Mexico. The flank steak and pork shoulder were dreamy!! So good we are having our last meal here again tomorrow. Highly recommend 5*****

From the outside of the restaurant you can feel the vibe, we were greeted and sat right away, the place was very crowded but they were prompt to help us. They bring a board with the menu and explain to you every dish, we ordered the Broccoli entree, basil salad and fish of the day. I can not explain the flavors in these dishes, never had anything like this and were foodies that love to try different places and flavors. It was a 10 on everything, ambience, flavors, service etc The place is also cute and very Holbox like. I would definitely recommend this place 100%! The price is worth it, you can tell they make everything from scratch and with great ingredients!

We had dinner at Santos Fuegos in Holbox and absolutely loved it! We ordered the flank steak and the sea bass. Both were incredibly flavorful and perfectly cooked. The restaurant is more on the higher end, but absolutely worth every peso. Amazing quality, great atmosphere, and outstanding food!

Santos Fuegos is rightfully lauded for their food in these reviews, and I have nothing but love for the dishes Melisa and I shared for dinner: blue corn tart amuse bouche, slow roasted empanada, broccoli (such an amazing balanced dish), charred prawns (pre-split and an easy eat), easily could have ordered 2 more of this dish, but with great restraint we chose to enjoy the cornbread with ice cream to finish. The food alone doesn’t do the place justice. Julie was our host for dinner and was a great part of the experience for a memorable highlight of our trip to Holbox. Everything about their approach is a reflection of hospitality at the highest levels, levels we continue to talk about when reflecting on our most memorable meals. Well done Santos Fuegos

We had an amazing dinner at Santos Fuegos, a true hidden gem recommended by a friend from NYC. Everything we ordered (the flatbread, broccoli, and especially the beef) was incredible, all cooked over an open fire. Oh, and the smoky Negroni is a must! 🥃 The service was warm and the atmosphere was fun and relaxed. Highly recommend and not to be missed.

This was our first dinner on the island and I’m so glad we made extra effort getting there. Best meal hands down😌 the steak was AMAZING, so flavorful with perfect sides. Empanadas also tasty. The sashimi dish we had could use a bit less oil though. The cornbread dessert had nice presentation and was delicious. Overall definitely choose this place if you love unique flavors.

Wow! It was by far the best pasta I ever had in my life. Before we got to the island I wished to have a good Italian food and I got to the place on the way. The staff was extremely nice and the food was AMAZING!! I highly recommend ❤️

We had our new years eve dinner at Los Peleones, and it was phenomenal. The quality of the food was extremely nice, and the plates were delicious. The waiter were super nice, present, helpful and just gave us a really good experience... Ps. The cocktails was also very good. Pps. We were searching for vegan options when we found this place. They have vegan items listed on the menu and even have vegan dessert! which isn't always offered. You HAVE to try the jack fruit ravioli. It was maybe our favorite meal on our trip to Cancun. The vegan cheesecake was good too. It was raw style with a nut crust and cranberries. Cool luchador themed place. Great service from Martin!

WOW WOW WOW.. maybe I often give out fives lightly, but this is hands down one of the best pastas i've ever had. I had spicy shrimp pasta and my wife had mushroom ravioli, and they were both superb. Seriously you are missing out, if you dont go there! Idk why this place has only 4.5 stars, it should be over 5.

Very nice terrace with also indoor area, big TV playing sports, special menu of the days seems great, we tried TUNA steak, really awesome with good amount of vegetable at the side, daily catch in champagne garlic sauce was a bit too drunk, might be only accidental, rustic salad was very nice, overall a good dinner. Guess their seafood pasta should be good..And complimentary drinks😀

Delish homemade pasta and really good service. Sat upstairs and they offered us the roof which we didn't know was there. I had the spicy shrimp which was lovely (slightly too much parsley but that was my only fault - really well seasoned), I also tried my friends Alfredo that they added shrimp to and really enjoyed it also - will be back before I leave Holbox!

Great place and highly recommended. We came here two nights in a row, which is pretty unusual for us. Lobster croquettes were excellent, but the star of the show was the signature steak for two. Great cut of meat and zero of it went to waste. Ours came out a little more rare than ordered, but the cut of meat was so good, it wasn't an issue at all but you might want to keep that in mind when ordering. When we were there, they did not open until 7 vs the 6pm that google has posted. Make a reservation just to be safe, this place fills up!

Parador 33 is the best Argentinian restaurant I have ever visited! It truly lives up to its reviews. The owner is very friendly and personable, and they were able to accommodate our party of four at the last minute since we wanted to try dinner there. The food was delicious; we started with the octopus carpaccio, which was incredibly good. The wine was excellent, and the ambiance was charming, featuring a wood-fired oven right outside where we could see all the food being prepared. The peppered steak was to die for, and the sauce paired perfectly with the potatoes. All of our dishes, including the chocolate mousse cake for dessert, were outstanding. I highly recommend this restaurant for its atmosphere, food, and service. A special thank you to our wonderful server, Milagros, for her attentiveness. By far, this is the best restaurant on the entire island, and we ranked it as our number one choice!

We've been here twice. The Shrimps with Coconut and the seafood platter has been very delicious! Second time: when we paid, the waiter brought back too little exchange (54 instead of 254). His excuse was that this was meant for another table 🙄🤑 always check your change!

Went with friends who had been before and this exceeded our expectations!! We had met Paul a few nights prior and automatically clicked with him, when we arrived and saw him at the restaurant we were greeted with such warmth and excitement. Paul made fantastic recommendations and explained each dish with such detail— exactly what I would expect from a restaurant of this calibre. Very helpful that Paul spoke great English! Drinks were great as well! Paul treated us like family and this was my favourite evening on the island. What an experience we will never forget, with fantastic food and even better service! If I could give Paul more stars I would! He deserves a raise. He is the Real Paul!!

Really good food, especially the fish, pulpo and lobster. I never would have expected a restaurant right in front of the Holbox sign to serve such authentic and delicious dishes. For our last meal of the trip, we decided to indulge into fish and lobster in front of the sea: Raices was the perfect place for that with delicious food, great service and amazing views.

My husband and I had THEE BEST experience of our time during our Holbox stay. The atmosphere was beachy, the food and drinks were great but what made this experience so amazing was our encounters with Tio Pol. We stopped in for drinks but decided we would be back again for dinner because the service was top tier. Tio Pol made us feel like we were old friends and he has left an impression on us that we will never forget. Thank you for being so authentically you Tio and we look forward to seeing you again. The food and drinks were actually really good. I had the mango mezcalitas and bacon wrapped shrimp. Soooo good!!

We found Raices about halfway through our trip and by the second bite, we were already talking about coming back. Tío Pol made us feel right at home the second we walked in. He pointed us to some hidden gems on the menu like the arrachera skewers, camarones al diablo, and the crispy coconut shrimp - all SO good. After coming back a few times, we’re pretty sure you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. The margaritas were super fresh, the ojo rojo was spicy and unique, and the carajillo was the perfect mid-day pick-me-up (actually strong coffee!). The food, the drinks, the vibe, and the hospitality? All top tier. We’ll definitely be back whenever we’re in Holbox.

My husband and I loved our experience here. We ordered the tuna and the shrimp it was our favorite meal while in Holbox and probably mexico. The margaritas are delicious, good music and the service is excellent. We cant wait to return one day and come again.

On the edge of town, this place has that cool island vibe. Mainly shrimp and fish options. The food was good, just not exceptional. Tried the shrimp and the fish tacos Mayan style. I thought the fish was over sauced. The pork belly square appetizer is huge, tasty and should pass as a meal. You could easily make 4 large tacos with guacamole from the plate. A bit much for 2 but maybe perfect for 4-6 people. Live music later in the evening was a nice touch...not too loud and perfect accompaniment to the experience.

Ordered a few of everything and everything was super delicious and tasty! The veggie tacos with shrimp and with cauliflower was mouthwatering. And this is coming from meat lover. Needless to say the meat tacos was great too! Come for the cool vibes stay for epic food! We are stopping by again that’s for sure.

They may be 2 to 3 times the price but honestly the shrimp ones were simply delicious. The drinks were also really fun. They definitely made an effort.

This place's food is amazing I definitely recommend the ceviche it is the best ceviche I have had in my life. The quesadillas were a bit greasy for my liking. Overall this place is very good. I came to Mexico to become a Mayan but I found myself chilling on the beach

You'll find that the blogs, reviews and local recommendations didn't lie. Delicious selection of Ceviches and tacos to melt in your mouth. Located less than 5 mins walk from the Holbox letters at the beach. We had the Verduras Asadas, Calamari, mixed ceviche, fish tempura tacos and shrimp quesadillas. We drank a watermelon juice and a strawberry juice, which came in a very big glass. We loved the simple island atmosphere which had nothing pretentious about it, and the smiley service. They made everything from scratch, therefore it took a while until we got served. We attempted to go again for dinner on our last night, around 8:20pm however they were full and then closing around 9pm so we were not lucky, so you might not want to leave it until last minute.

Amazing and fresh food and drinks. We went to this placed based on a review we read. And we were not disappointed! The Ceviche was super fast and the fish tacos were out of this world! We ordered a juice and an iced juice and both were fresh, made when ordered and tasted amazing. Staff were incredible. Only issue is that we want to try other restaurants too, but nothing lives up to this place! So going back today and tomorrow!!

We loved the classic ceviche here! Huge portion enough for two people. I liked how finely chopped the fish was so that the lime cooked this through and the freshly made tortilla chips. The sauces were great too, especially the habernero. Really authentic family business with excellent fresh food and good service for a reasonable price!

It’s a nice small place with some good food. Expect easy going food a clear menu and a bit too expensive for what you get. They have vegan and other options. Also Almond, Soya and coco milk.

This coffee was recommended in blogs and other forums. When we arrived we got the feeling we are disturbing the two ladies in their conversation. Even though they noticed us we had to ask 3 times if we could order a coffee. It was not possible to order a cold coffee with ice mixed. Only with milk and sugar. Even when the espresso was good we have never experienced such a rude and unfriendly service. Therefore 1 star only.

I think they need to improve the smoothies based. The smoothie doesn’t look like a smoothie, instead kore like a watei juice with toppings. No taste of milk at all on smoothie. The service was just OK but she was being hard to use card to pay and try to force us to use cash only which was very uncomfortable although she let us to pay with card at the end.

Beautiful cafe serving waffles, bagel sandwiches, juices, and smoothies. Stands out with minimalist wood paneling inside and out, green plants, and industrial lighting. Come here for the Paradise Juice (pineapple + kiwi) to escape the heat! My friend and I had breakfast here a few times and recommend the waffles with nutella for a sweet start to the day. Coffee is good as well.

It's always great to find a cafe to help one get grounded while overseas. We got smoothies and iced lattes, both were standardly good. I'd recommend this place for anyone with high US palates for cafes.

BEST COFFEE I HAD IN MEXICO. Out of all the many many coffee places I've tried in Mexico, this is the one I will never forget. I still regret not buying their beans because I said I was gonna come back the day we leave Holbox but we didn't have the time. What I really love about their coffee was that it was very chocolate-y and nutty and didn't taste acidic at all so I didn't anymore sugar to add and I was able to enjoy just with milk. The brownie was good too and my partner enjoyed the strawberry shake. Hopefully, I'll have the chance to come back here and get the coffee again someday. This has set the standard for me.

BEST coffee in Holbox and from my entire trip in Mexico. So happy they actually know how to make real « flat whites » which are not lattes 🥰 They also have a great salmon bagel if you want to take a break from tacos. They pastries are really nice as well. We came here twice with my partner in our 3-day stay in Holbox and tried their almond croissant, banana bread and brownie. We liked everything, but most importantly their coffee. The coffee shop is modern with AC and a small garden at the back. Nice atmosphere. I recommend!

Visiting this place for my 2nd time and I must say the place is beautiful inside, great vibes and the bartender Danielle serves the best cocktails with skill and style, she definitely knows what she is doing. Very pretty place, starters were delicious, but main dishes were kind of floppy… out of four dishes ordered only one was good. The octopus was overcooked and chewy Both pastas were… okay.. pretty simple and overpriced. The salmon lasagna was the only one i would highly recommend! Dessert was also very average. Basico es fantastic 🤩 not only the stylish exterior, also inside lovely restaurant. If you are lucky and you want, you could have one of three couches with table facing outside. We had a very nice and friendly waiter, who recommend the tuna tartar, the pulled pork and the octopus. All dishes were excellent. The spicy sauce to the pork... Really spicy 🤣 may be a bit too much of teriyaki with the tuna, but that was just my opinion. Anyway, I loved it and I never had such a tender octopus. Really delicious. Thanks for the evening.

A true jewel in every sense. Beginning from the stunning massive macrame facade, tropical boho-chic interior design to the quality and presentation of their dishes. We ordered the camote braseado (roasted sweet potato) salad with roasted peanuts, lettuce and pickled green apples dressed in maracuyá-piloncillo sauce and it was absolutely mind-blowing. The combination of flavors was totally unexpected! As the main dish we ordered a vacío steak with a side of asparagus, green beans, roasted plantains and beets. It came with sun-dried tomato pureé which complimented the flavors wonderfully. For dessert we had the roasted plantains topped with piloncillo, crunchy amaranth + cinnamon crumble and milk ice cream. Very very nice. Overall this place is totally worth your time and money. Our waiters Andrés and Gerardo did an amazing job with their suggestions and their service was top-tier. I rarely ever give a restaurant a perfect 5 star score but this place deserves it. Absolutely recommended if you love fine food in exotic destinations like Holbox.

This restaurant was very good to eat and has an awesome service (señorita Reyna🤩 and senhora Veronica 🙏🏻). The atmosphere was very romantic and the music great. In terms of food it’s where I think that it can improve, because I’m used to eat Sushi in Europe and we have more variety in the menu.

Sushi was pretty tasty, however our experience was tainted by a few issues. Server had a mixup with the two sake we ordered (mine was to be served hot and my girl's cold). After asking for them to heat mine up, and waiting 20 mins I finally asked for it (being in the restaurant business as a server myself I'm very patient and forgiving lol). Next issue was the "seaweed salad"...it was a nice presentation, had some fresh mango, sashimi salmon, edamame, on top of sushi rice, topped with shoestring cut cucumber.... however the main ingredient was missing lol. Either that or our server misunderstood what we asked for. They were apologetic for their mistakes, and gifted us some smoked eel nigiri, and plum wine shots. All very nice. Maybe I'd try them again, but I don't know 🤷

I had been to this restaurant in 2018 and it was excellent, I gave it 5 stars back then. Iwas back in Holbox this year and was super excited to come back and experience the restaurant again but was very disappointed. The sushi was definitely pre-made and refrigerated and had been for a while. I chose one of the "Chef's selction" plates, which is usually the best and freshest and it was possibly the worst sushi I've ever had anywhere. It is such a shame because the decor and cocktails are great. I still recommend the place but go just for a cocktail to watch the sunset on the roof

This place is actually called Tamashi and it located in the Palapas del Mar hotel. We couldn't believe how empty the place was because it was a GORGEOUS place to watch the sunset! The drinks were affordable and the pool was amazing. Such a hidden gem. Oh yeah, and the sushi was pretty okay too--but I would come for the drinks and the view.

We had the passion fruit role with white fish. One of the best sushis and i think the best in Holbox. Also the Tuna TarTar was delicioso. I can defently recommend this Restaurant. Additional the Cocktails very good and have some Specials. All the stuff is very friendly. One of my favorites in Holbox.

Good sushi place on the island. We got the tuna tartar(highly recommended it) and two rolls a salmon California and the Urumaki Passion Fruit this one was the least good of the two. The service was great!

For a sushi restaurant on an island, surrounded by fresh fish, this was anything but a fresh fish experience. We sent back one of our rolls and only ate the rice of the second because the “tuna” was rubbery and inedible. The starter, a tuna tartare dish, was even worse and looked and tasted like it was ground up in a blender prior to arriving at the table. We had high hopes and were beyond let down with this experience. For anyone with somewhat of a sophisticated pallet for sushi, you will be utterly disappointed and even further, will probably not be able to eat here. Just a fair warning from a sushi lover. It was however a nice atmosphere and the wait staff was super nice and understanding.

Look no further if you’re looking for a low key, earthy, bohemian style restaurant for fresh sea food. Prices were okay. We ordered 4 margaritas and two seafood dishes for approximately $60. Also, paying pesos is encouraged since their electronic payment system fails quite often.

Great food! Great service! Great drinks! We went on our first night and last, amazing both times. go early or be prepared to wait. Instead of a menu, the chef comes out & explains what he’s made for the evening, usually 3-4 options. No reservations, no menu and cash only.

Beautiful restaurant. They have a unique menu each day with fresh ingredients. I had lobster and tuna which were both delicious. Service and drinks were also very good, and prices are extremely fair. Probably our favorite restaurant in Holbox.

Had shrimps, calamari and mushrooms. Also tried the lobster which was really good too. No menu the waiter tells you in person what they have. Prices are super high ($400-$600 for one meal plus 10% service charge and they still expect an extra tip) needed to ask for our change back. Also exchange rate for usd was really cheeky. Stuff was friendly, atmosphere was nice but I wouldn't come back.

A disappointing dinner. For a restaurant that prides itself for a daily changing menu do to the fresh ingredients, you’d expect my entree to be fresh. I ordered the mixed seafood dish which was a combination of Tuna, Shrimp, Muscles, Calamari and fish. All the ingredients in my dish were frozen and low grade (you can see the small shrimp and muscles that obviously came out of a bag) with the exception of the fish which was fresh and good. I added a picture to share the experience, I wouldn’t eat here again

Had the catch of the day with potatoes and my friend had the flank steak fajitas. Very generous portions and delicious. Left feeling very full and satisfied :)

Very unique. Verbal menu that changes daily with 4 options that include an appetizer. We had Green Tomato soup to start that was simply amazing and the main courses did not disappoint. My wife and I have travelled and love all things culinary. This is a must when visiting Isla Holbox.

Very charming atmosphere where they take a self serving approach for coffee and also clearing your own table. This is a casual atmosphere tucked away on a side street. The owner is from France and he is very nice. The pastries are decent and the other dishes we tried are average as well. The price is affordable. There are better places on the island if you are looking for a full breakfast, but this is a nice place to grab a coffee and pastry. The fresh squeezed orange juice was probably the most impressive item on the menu. We also tried the salmon bagel with cream cheese, which was very mediocre. The omelette was also a regular omelette without anything noteworthy to write about (overcooked and too much oil), unfortunately this took about 30 minutes to deliver and much later than all of the other dishes. I would definitely recommend going with low expectations with the intention of grabbing a take away coffee and a pastry. I would agree with other reviews that don’t understand why everyone is rating this place with 5-stars. I would recommend going to Painopol instead! It is great there.

Outstanding, I mean it's the best place to have breakfast in Holbox hands down. It's a beautiful place, carefully decorated and I liked that it's very spacious. The food is great and the bread is handmade everyday so it will blow your mind. The owner is very friendly and he can help you out pick something. It's definitely a must in Holbox.

What a lovely place! The owner is so kind and talented. It’s spacious, yummy, and there’s a play area for kids too :) he makes everything himself and it’s all delicious. Really good pastries, sandwiches, mochi smoothies, and coffee ❤️ It was pleasantly quiet whereas other places often play loud music. There was music playing but it wasn’t bothersome. There is also a beautiful garden wrapped around the building (hence le jardin) and we saw some butterflies! You seat yourself and place your order at the counter when you’re ready with your table number. There’s menus hanging up in several languages and you bus your dishes at the end and sort your trash into inorganic and organic waste 👍

SO GOOD WE WENT TWICE IN 3 DAYS. Our favorite breakfast on the island! Croissants were some of the best we’ve had. Also enjoyed iced cappuccinos, fresh squeeze orange juice and green juice.

Very french, baked goods are ok. I had a banana nutella muffin and a veggie omelette. Their betabel juice is delicious. It’s self-service, they have reusable straws :) just a bit disappointed because it wasn’t a “jardin”, just a palapa.

The restaurant is beautiful with dramatic architectural touches. The table service was gracious and professional. I decided to have the tasting menu with wine pairings because it was too hard to decide! Everything was delicious and so fresh with unexpected but gorgeous flavor combinations. I especially loved the dessert and practically licked the bowl clean! I highly recommend this wonderful oasis of casual elegance with delectable and memorable flavors!

If someone has only one night in Holbox, then this is the restaurant that must try out. The atmosphere is exceptional, unique and very romantic. All the shapes of wooden roofs and lights present amazing moods. The food is phenomenal. Not only the taste of them but also the presentation is beautiful. It is not a huge restaurant, so make a reservation if you can. Visit when you are super hungry and try out as much food on the menu as possible. This restaurant is no doubt our best pick in Holbox. (Also the music choice of the restaurant is on point!! We followed their playlist already!)

This restaurant is mind-blowing, such a good way to experience Mexican cuisine elevated to a new level. The tasting menu is well worth it. Some dishes work better than others but all are beautifully presented, delicious to eat and with a sense of theatre. So unexpected from the outside

I struggle to recall a more beautiful, creative, and warm dining experience. The tasting menu was a magical experience, brought to life by our server, the owner's sister, who took time to enchant us with the details of each dish. I would recommend this without hesitation to anyone who appreciates delicious food and beautiful environments.

We stopped here after walking out to Punta Mosquito. So glad we did! Edgar at the bar and Ken in the kitchen took great care of us! The drinks are original and delicious! We tried a few of the signature cocktails and the specialty Mojitos. All were amazing!! Drinks were complex and booze/fruit forward but not too sweet. Super refreshing and unique! We tried the pulpo tostada and ceviche both were perfectly prepared and super tasty! A great vibe, chill music, amazing view with roof pool, great service and some of the best food and drinks on Holbox!

The Alma Sky bar is nice for having a good drink and enjoying the nice view to sea. The prices for a drink a bit higher but is okey for a place like this. I would come back, when I go the next time to Holbox.

Nice rooftop with swimming pool. A tower view where you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the island and the sandy beach …. We were around thirty people in a private party , everything was excellent , the cocktails were the best on the island …. The staff is friendly …. I recommend this place….

Arnold was the best bar tender I've ever had in my life! The drinks were extremely artistic and did not lack any umph if you know what I mean. I left that place pretty nice 😎. Go here! There's a rooftop pool you can drink in, but we were having so much fun sitting around the bar that we forgot to swim! Anyway, Arnold needs a raise! Thank you Alma Staff!

Beautiful rooftop views of the most pristine beach on Holbox. Food was very good, good variety of drink options. Some of the drinks are a bit sweet so just be aware of that. The staff are delightful and very attentive.

Services and the prices are super nice and fair. The bar is super gorgeous. In rooftop pool you have a great few and on the rooftop Plattform a even better one for the sunset. 10/10 go there definitely for the sunset!

The staff were really nice and helpful. Our friend celebrated birthday and they put a candle on his burger. Pasta was average, burgers were good. The only minus is that meat is realy dry and was crumbling.

Pizza was very Good. The dough, the texture, the ratio of sauce to toxins. Drink was surprisingly good. Tha attention was blah specially because the girl was just serving one more table and me by myself.

Food was delicious and portion sizes were great, thank you for offering vegan cheese! However, when it came to paying - without asking the waitress took our cash and charged us the suggested tip and then an extra few pesos on top of that!!! Ideally we would have liked our change so that we could have done the tip ourselves.

Very good pizza. Extremely annoying and weird that they have big dogs that bark laud. Another dog was coughing all the time we ate. No one said anything. We didn't get all food we ordered, and that was a good thing, because of the dogs. Will not come back.

Pizza was great! It was our favorite on the island. Also got pasta to split, it was okay. Next time we would skip the pasta and the frozen drink. They never told us at the start, but their card machine was down due to rain. So bring cash just in case

Great pizza, lots of taste and great price. My girl and I ordered the one with chorizo argentino and onion and it was bomb. Highly recommended, also the staff is super friendly and service is fast. Beer only $50, definitely one of the best places to eat in Holbox 🙌🏼.

This beach club absolutely lives up to its high ratings. The service was wonderful, the food was delicious, and the beach chairs were very comfortable with plenty of shade. There is a minimum spend of 600 pesos per person to use their chairs and facilities, but it’s absolutely worth it if you plan to spend a few hours by the beach. We also appreciated the multiple bathrooms and showers, which made the experience even better. Plus, it’s conveniently close to town—such an easy and relaxing spot to unwind. Highly recommend!

Come here!!! Best deal and location in Holbox for a beach day. We explored other options, and they don’t compare. There is a 600 pesos per person minimum spend, which is reasonable to me. Other places charge just to use a chair, but not here. The servers are so helpful and nice, food is delicious, and drinks are creative. We have come here multiple times on our trip.

Such a splendid beach restaurant! High quality meal and still not overpriced. Octopus ceviche and green aguachile were so delicious. Perfect place to enjoy unforgettable Holbox sunset through the cocktail glass :-) Chelada is fresh.. michelada with spicy rim and clamato.. real good Mexican style!

This is the best beach club on the island. I recommend spending a few hours. The beach is wonderful, the staff are great (especially Jose and Axel). They are very attentive and personable and speak good English. The food is wonderful. We highly recommend the coconut shrimp. The food at Ñaña is something to come back for again and again. We had the fresh lobster and catch of the day. Both dishes came with a healthy serving of vegetables on the side and mouth watering flavor. The drinks were also creative and fun! This was not a fast meal as the dishes took some time to prepare but very worth the wait!

Been to Holbox many times. Easily the best food on the beach and prompt service. The shrimp serving is generous. Highly-recommend the fried chicken tacos as well. The exact vibe you’re looking for in a beach club.

Really Nice Beach club, the good was excellent and sophisticated, better than the usual food on the Beach. Nice menu of cocktails too ! The waiter was perfect and helpfull. If I had one suggestion, it would be to include towels in the package

The pizza is okay, the place used to be better. The service was super slow, the flavor was okay, we asked for a margerita pizza and lobster and the second is a bit pricey for the size. The servers are doing their job like they hate it.

0/5. We really regret coming to this place. We came here for the famous lobster pizza and it was expensive and disgusting. The pizza was clearly a cheap frozen pizza with extra cheese and lobster on top of it. The pizza bread was still raw as you can see the grey colour from the picture. The service was also poor as the owner/ waiter was having dinner at the same time as us and we would feel bad interrupting his meals to order something else. If you want to try this dish just make sure not to go there. PS: Both of us had stomachache after eating here for 2 days. My sister had diarrhoea.

A delicious restaurant in, what I felt like was, the center of town in Holbox. It’s an open air restaurant with wonderful service and a great place to watch the daily life on Holbox. And you’ll even see a couple of dogs stroll by. I had the Shrimp Ceviche and my husband had the famous Lobster Pizza. Both dishes were out of this world delicious! I highly recommend eating here.

This place is totally worth eating at IF you resist the temptation to eat a lobster pizza here. The price is significantly less than Roots around the corner ($350 vs $600 for the same size), but the quality is significantly lower as well. The crust is just terrible. If you consider yourself even remotely close to someone who appreciates good food, DO NOT Eat THE PIZZA HERE! However, the mixto civiche with lobster ($260 pesos) was actually pretty great and a very generous portion and I even preferred it over the civiche offered at Raices. Location is also nice for people watching. Come here for a nice civiche and a beer, but avoid the pizza at all cost!

Best ceviche we’ve had in Mexico! After 15 days traveling through Mexico, this was by far the best ceviche we’ve tried, super fresh and full of flavor. The staff was incredibly friendly, and the drinks were delicious (fresh ingredients!). We loved everything about this place, highly, highly recommend!

So I chose this based on Google reviews. We went about 7pm. It was a slightly sketchy walk and when we arrived, there were ZERO peeps there. A sign of trouble. However, we decided to stay. We ordered a stuffed avocado and tacos atun. The stuffed avocado was simply a salad w avocado ( not so much what I expected) and the tacos atun had tuna that was overly well done. So, the food was par to sub par. Service was very good. The location on Holbox is very isolated and with zero peeps there, I'm feeling that 3 star is generous. There is nothing worse than over cooked fish. Food 3 star. Service - 4 star - there was nobody there so they were attentive. Ambiance, no one there so that's bad 3 star. Not sure what else to say but Gracias.

We were looking for a seafood place on the island and made the best choice, exactly what we wanted a seafood plate exceeded our expectations, it was a great amount of seafood and vegetables, we loved the lobster in it. We had only ordered a guacamole to share as starter and it was more than enough food for two. My Margharita was also delicious. My bf had a desert of the day, an Oreo cheesecake, which was extremely yummy. I would definitely recommend this place for seafood lovers.

The food was good but not to die for. We went because our hotel recommended it and it was nice their drinks were strong but I’ve had better tacos at cheaper prices. Service was pretty bad considering we were the only ones at the restaurant and we often had to call our waiter to the table. She was too busy chatting with the bartender. Also, Holbox is flooded so it’s impossible to get there by walking which we did and got stuck in the mud. We called a taxi to go back and it cost us $9 USD for a 5 minute ride. Insanity!

We went there for lunch a few times during our stay. Friendly service , relaxed ambiance sitting by the beach, and good food. They could do a better job of keeping the beach clean and rake the sargassum. Dog friendly, they have a water bowl. Overall a nice experience, recommend for a laidback lunch.

Lovely place near the end of the west shore with a larger menu for a beachfront spot. Guacamole, fish tacos, and ceviche are fresh and delicious, and breakfast eggs and the fruit plate are equally tasty. Chill with an amazing sunset view, plenty of covered seating and beach chairs with umbrellas, this is what beach vibes are all about.

Really chilled beach Café. Very relaxed music. When we arrived with kids, they immediately brought sand toys. They, too, had water for the dogs. Beautiful sunset. Pretty nice spot.

I really enjoyed my visit here. I walked two dogs from the animal shelter, and stopped her both times to get a drink and some grilled chicken for each dog. The first time the guy charged me DOUBLE (175 pesos) what the 2nd guy charged me (80 pesos)…so be careful! I’ve heard this happen in MX but this is the first time I’ve known of it. Plus the first guy added a 75 pesos tip and the 2nd guy did not. My passion fruit mojito was heavy on the passion fruit and not on the liquor (250 pesos each, same as my hotel). And the side of chicken (for the shelter pup) was 80 pesos. The dogs loved and the atmosphere was beautiful. Great place to watch the sunset.

On a casual walk along the beautiful Holbox coast i came across this spot with my girl. Right along 12pm they had they accommodated the menu to serve breakfast and lunch. My girl ordered the chaya omelette. Chaya is the mayan spinach is tastes better than spinach. It was delicious. My plate was a basic quedadillas with shrimp but tasted great and we added their deliscious salsas. The beans were bomb. We also ordered a mezcalito de tamarindo, cold frapuchino and green juice - all supere refreshing and made on point

An absolute gem! 🌮✨ This taco spot offers creative and unique taco variations with something for everyone – meat lovers, vegetarians, and even great vegan options. The vibe was amazing: live music that fit the atmosphere perfectly, and super friendly service that made the whole experience even better. Drinks were also on point – especially the huge glasses of Jamaica (that refreshing hibiscus drink), definitely a must-try! All in all: delicious food, great atmosphere, and good vibes. I can only recommend it! 🙌

Food is delicious! Great casual spot in the heart of town. We got the tuna burger and premium burger. Both tremendous. Tuna had a nice crust and great bun. Dipping sauces were a fantastic version of the classics they obviously make themselves. Crispy wedges too.

The BEST food. We were in holbox for a week and had agreed prior to our trip we would try new food places every day BUT we loved Temoc so much we came back 3 times. Live music, fantastic tacos and the most delicious cocktails - my fave was the cucumber mezcalita!

You know when it's your first days somewhere, you don't know where to know, and you take your chances on a place, and it happens to be have the most AMAZING food? This is one of these places. Excellent food (the Suadero tacos are incredible), excellent service, this is a must-go spot in Holbox. And the drinks! The Aperol Spritz was perfect.

Beautiful Holbox beach club. Access is part of the hotel room rate for residents and it’s an unspoiled portion of soft sandy beach. Great service from the staff and delicious menu - all types of ceviche highly recommended! Watch out for the hot sauce with the chips - it packs a punch 😀

The beach club itself is truly beautiful – the design, the atmosphere, and the overall aesthetic are clearly created with love and attention to detail. The location is stunning, with a gorgeous view of the beach, and the loungers were comfortable (400 pesos for the day p.p) which was fair considering the setting). The food was good – nothing to complain about – and the drinks were fine as well. The minimum spend was 1400 pesos, which we didn’t fully use up. At the end, there were about 55 pesos still open from the minimum spend. On top of this, we also left 100 pesos as a tip. Altogether, this is basically around 10% extra – which is a fair amount. Unfortunately, the waiter was not satisfied with this and insisted that we should give over 20% tip, even suggesting we pay by card. This pressure felt uncomfortable and unnecessary, especially because tipping should be optional and reflect the service, not be forced. It’s a shame, because the place itself is absolutely worth visiting – the setting is magical – but this situation at the end spoiled an otherwise lovely experience.

We stayed at CasaSandra for a week and we’re beachfront every day. The staff at mojito were attentive and welcoming. Wine list was sparse but not bad, mojito list was impressive (obviously). Ceviche was delicious. Beautiful sunsets!

Overall, Mojito Beach Club offers good quality food on the beach. We loved the grilled fish. Unfortunately, we didn't understand that each bed was a 200k rental, plus a minimum of 500k for food and drink. Expect to pay 400k for 2 beds and a minimum of 500k for food and beverages. The servers were not very approachable and took forever to clear our table. Also, we were very uncomfortable with the servers when it was time to pay our bill. We went to pay at the counter, but one server made us go back to our sun bed, where he insisted on cash tips over and over again. We explained that we didn't have any more cash and that we would leave the tip on the card. When I went back to the bar to pay with the machine, he insisted yet again. We received uncomfortable stares from the staff during this moment and felt pressured to leave a cash tip. We are usually very generous when leaving service tips, but being pressured over and over again is not professional, so for this reason, we do not plan to return.

Lovely private beach. Clean and comfortable range of seating and lounging. Great for quiet time at the beach or gathering of friends. Loved the Ceviche.

If anyone is complaining about seaweed... It's Holbox, at certain times of the year, there will be seaweed. All you need to go is hop over it and enjoy the sea! Secondly, we paid 700 pesos, 500 pesos goes towards food which was annoying as other beach bars cost 500 pesos that all went towards food BUT I will say the food was really good and the mango mojitos were the best i had on the island. It was a chill vibe with music in the afternoon, perfect for what we wanted. Our server was nice and would regularly check to see if we needed everything. Wish we knew more Spanish so we could chat more. Would recommend if you're looking for a more quiet beach bar. I would recommend choosing your bed wisely as we couldn't move our beds and the sun definitely got to me!!

Great ceviche, octopus and lobster. The tuna could have a little more taste in the sauce, however the texture was very well cut. The cocktails were a bit watery but nice. Overall good experience, just a pity that for card payments only physical card was accepted and they charged 5% more than in cash.

The place is quite cozy and nice. They had nice music but unfortunately the hot corner on the opposite side of the street has loud music so you hear all the time both music, which can be a bit annoying. The service was good, they were very nice and they gave us a caldo de camarón at the beginning. :) We ordered pulpo a las brasas and a fish ceviche. The fish ceviche was good. The octopus was ok. It was nicely crusty on the outside but unfortunately not well cooked, it was very chewy. We had tiramisu for dessert. It was an interesting interpretation of a tiramisu, but far away from a real tiramisu. It was more like a chocolate brownie or something like that with a flan/gelatine on top. No coffee flavor, no mascapone, no bisquits. Overall it is a nice place to have dinner. We were surprised that mahi is also a party place at night! We were walking through holbox and we heard good music and it was coming from mahi. There is an entrance fee of 100 mxn (which included one beer), so it was ok. They had a DJ and we had a good time dancing at mahi. The beer price is ok, around 50 mxn. Only the tequilas were a bit expensive (100 mxn). Overall a good alternative to dance in holbox.

Fantastic service, friendly staff and delicious food. If you are craving something other than tacos, make this the place to visit. Bonus: they accept credit cards.

I have been there few times for dinner or for a drink. I had a good experience about food, service and atmosphere (really cozy though little overcrowded sometimes). Drinks are the only thing I found not at the price level, better to have a beer there than a cocktail! Recommend if you have time to spend in Holbox

Service was great, food was really good, we ordered mustard Aguachile( it was good) we ordered octopus tacos (super good)we got carnivore tartar( it was a missing a kick, not enough salt, fresh cracked black pepper, and some fresh olive oil that makes the throat itch) if you're charging premium price you should make it premium) I would skip the tartar and stick with the octopus tacos that were delicious 😋, wife had a maracuya( passion fruit) mojito that was super good. Now the question? Would I come back? The answer is a Yes.

This has so far been my best restaurant experience in Mexico. We got a free shrimp soup starter, then had a burrito and one taco each. The filling was delicious and the tortilla itself was so soft and light. If you're looking for a great Mexican seafood, come here. Worth noting they do accept card payments.

We came to Mahi twice during our trip to Holbox since we loved it so much! The ceviches are refreshing and delicious, and the specials have unique flavors that add to the meal. The cocktails were amazing, we tried the Ilegal and Secreto de Mezcal last night. They’re made beautifully and taste hydrating. Our server was kind and attentive both visits, and we loved the complimentary shrimp soup and mezcal shot to finish ;)

Good live music but this place is a SCAM. The food was horrible, they add 15% tip which is not allowed in Mexico.

Drinks are mid to be honest. Getting the job done I'd say. But the food was surprisingly very good for a bar. Later in the evening it gets very crowded due to the live music. A good spot for partying and getting to know people. Had a fun night.

Guess they changed their name to The Not Corner. I wanted Fish and Chips. Was told sorry we have no fish dishes. What? Here? On an island? Secondly maybe ten customers total 4 servers seen and we had to wait or waive for everything. I ordered wings which were luke warm at best. They had just been reheated so were dry and overcooked. If I could rate zero stars I would.

They serve tequilla and beer in plastic containers. So you spent 160 pesos for tequilla shot to drink it from a ketchup cup :⁠-⁠D not recommend

Then in house made ice cream is amazing. Went here must days of the week in Holbox with our kids. The only downside was the service when two girls were working as they didn't break conversation or look at us while serving. The gentleman who owns or manages the place is great but these two girls offered horrible service which tainted the experience our kids.

My favorite ice cream shop in town. They have long hours in case you feel like eating an ice cream for dinner. The staff is very friendly and they have a great selection of flavors, different each day. Ask for the server’s favorites, he knows his business well.

We visited few icecream places while staying at Holbox in March 2018 and this one has the best tasting Italian ice cream with natural flavours. The portions are at least twice as big as other popular ice cream place on Main Street, this one is hidden on side street off main square and with closed sliding door it's hard to notice...

Delicious gelato. I stayed in Holbox for 3 days and tried several ice cream places. Other places have gelato that is just as good, but this place offers excellent gelato, serves the biggest portions and offers the best value for money. So if I have to pick a winner, then this is definitely the best gelato in Holbox. Only suggestion for the owner is to change the decor/sign outisde the store. You can walk next to it and not realize that they sell gelato.

Saw the reviews and had to try it myself! It was awesome. I'm not sure if I was speaking to the owner or an employee when I visited but either way the customer service was good. Make sure you visit this place.... its better than all other gelato stands

When you’re on holiday, sometimes al you want is a nice icecream. Just as good is it would be at home. Here in Holbox however the icecream is much beter then in the Netherlands. Real italian icecream in the most exotische flavor’s. Creamy, fruity, incredible. After discovering porque No we CAME back every day to get an icecream. So If you are in Holbox and you like icecream go there. I recommend it

Generous portions, amazing taste, reasonable price, a « must try » when in Holbox. The sign of the store is not really visible from the street, we were lucky to find it randomly, that was a great surprise.

A lovely restaurant with varied menu for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! We enjoyed all our meals here, particularly the Pancakes - they hit different here, a must try! Great for most occasions, and they had live music on a Friday. As well as the food, the staff are fantastic; kind, always attentive, and remember your preferences. The team deserve all the praise, such great people!

Amazing food! Excellent service! ( see Beto the manager. He is awesome! ) Beachfront atmosphere is perfect especially for sunsets. We had several delicious meals there while vacationing in Holbox. My favorites were the Jumbo shrimp ( just the best!) and grilled vegetables, the Black Angus picand BBQ tacos (so darn good) the Costello de Brontosaurio (beef ribs that fall off the bone) and the porter house steak with mashed potatoes and Chaya. And let me not forget the Mojitos! Unbelievably tasty and the best I’ve ever had! Highly recommend dining at Las Hamacas and see Beto! He will take great care of you!

We had dinner here on a quiet night and the food and service were outstanding - Gabriela gave great suggestions on what to order - the Chilli Beach cocktail and Chicharon de Rib Eye were stand outs. Highly recommend!

Overall amazing dinner experience. We had homemade pico de gallo, truffle fries, two steaks, mashed potatoes, and the Papas Bravas. For beverages we had a frozen strawberry, margarita and beers that were both extremely cold and delicious. The steaks were cooked perfectly, and all of our food was amazing. On top of that the prices are very fair. Our entire meal was about $130 Without a tip. The service was excellent and we really appreciate Noel from AWA Hotel recommending this wonderful establishment. We will definitely be back. There is also sometimes live entertainment.

Ordered the motuleños as suggested by the waiter at first I didn't like it was way too sweet... then I added the habanero salsa which made it sing....super economical compared to most of this expensive island...service was spot on good job.

The pancakes and the motulenos were good but the waffles on the other hand were very dry and tasted like nothing.

Best breakfast on Holbox - the only place we visited more than once as it was just that good. Epic motuleños with a house made habanero salsa were a favourite but everything we tried was excellent including chilaquiles and rancheros. Eggs were fresh and perfectly cooked. Service was friendly (and very tolerant of my poor Spanish!) and the dining room spotless and well ventilated with multiple fans. Highly recommend for a proper Mexican breakfast!

Lovely little breakfast place, recommended by locals. It can get very busy, very fast. We went there 3-4 times very early in the morning, at 8am which is their opening time, so we found a table right away but it got full in a blink of an eye. We tried their Chillaquiles Divorciados, the Enfrijoladas, Detox juice, iced green tea and strawberry milkshake. The filter coffee is OK as well. The prices are fair and they take card payments as well -assuming WiFi is working -we had no issues. The location is very central, right opposite the basketball/volleyball court (which doubles as a market on Sundays!), and the taxi rank, which means its a relatively busy road. Of the weather permits, they have a couple of tables outside, in the street too. We sat inside all of the times.

I enjoyed a really nice breakfast in a cozy setting here. Along with every meal, they offer free American coffee, which is a great bonus. The prices are a little higher than usual, but the quality of the food and the warm atmosphere make it worth a visit. It's a good spot to try out, especially if you like a relaxing place for your morning meal.

My friends and I ate at Eric and Matias They were lovely, their food was really delicious, and they even brought us a dish on the house. Excellent service and a great experience. Highly recommended!

We tried all lobster pizza places in town ( all are great, and you must too) but…without a doubt, specially the lobster pizza at la Cabane is #1 Friendly service and very efficient, Lobster pizza is top notch.Dont miss it!

The tacos are delicious and the salsas are great too — definitely gourmet-style tacos. My favorites were the arrachera ones, and the mezcal I had was smooth and flavorful. The service was excellent and the staff was very friendly. I’d definitely come back on my next vacation to Holbox. We had dinner as a group of three.

Had dinner there one night and grabbed pizza for lunch another day. Pizza is the best thing on the menu. Tartine was okay and pasta was good but nothing spectacular. Pizza was fantastic. Really appreciated them using smoke to keep mosquitoes away from dining room.

Great place!! Service is amazing, pizza is great, and definitely try their breakfast, fresh bread and compared with other restaurants around the food doesn’t take long and comes out piping hot!!

Good pizza, not so much cheese. But what you dont know and see is that they add 20% of mandatory tip at the bill, so overall a bit pricy for what it is, and clearly illegal as not announced as service charge as the law should. I just hate this kind of practice, feel like scam

Family of 5, for lunch. What a good surprise for a lunch between 2 kitesurfing sessions: great service, view and meals! The setup of the hotel itself makes also part of the nice atmosphere. Fish / shrimp tacos, shrimp skewers and octopus were really good choices. If you are tempted by the burger, it is nice as well with good ingredients but don’t expect a juicy angus beef patty. Everyone loved the fries.

Possibly the worst restaurant in town. Horrible food, Horrible drinks, Horrible prices. Even Horrible WiFi. Don't let my pictures distract you. Just go somewhere else.

This Could be a nice hotel BUT the maintenance issues overshadow their hotel. We had to move 3 times because either the AC system was not working, plumbing issues, just something. Staff was very nice but it didn't help. We finally were moved to a working room (AC would not go below 74 degrees) but it only had one double bed, I paid for 2 beds. When I asked for a partial refund, I got a big Fat No! There was a fire right next to this resort, and since then, the property has had electrical issues among other things like lots of construction going on. Owners just do not seem to want to fix it. Another thing is that the staff does not clean the beach. No attempt to take right in front of their own beach chairs, so it was very stinky with the old seaweed,sargassum just sitting there day after day in the hot sun. The other resorts right next door were very good about cleaning. The pictures online definitely do not match the real look of the resort. You can get something much nicer for what you would spend here. I wish I could write a better review but I would be lying if I did.

I have been at Zomay Holbox last April, and I’m only just taking the time to share my experience. but it’s definitely worth it! This hotel is a true gem right on the beach, which makes every moment incredibly relaxing. The outdoor areas are beautifully set up, so you can spend your day just chilling and enjoying the surroundings. The vibe here is amazing. The drinks and food are excellent, and the staff is incredibly welcoming. I highly recommend this place!

Pros: Shower was excellent. Room design is exactly what we were looking for. Great balcony from the second floor of our room. Beautiful grounds. Mattress was very comfortable. Water service and refill was convenient. Close to town. Cons: AC blew right on heads in bed. We could not use it. We had a leak in our room from the heavy rain. Breakfast is so so. Beach not in the best location on the island.

This is a no-frills hotel, with excellent service and great location. If you’re looking for a cozy, charming room, this hotel is not it. We spent the day on the beach, and went out at night exploring the various dining options. So it worked for us.

That is The only good Thing of it. IT IS defintely Not worth The price. WE payed more than USD 250 per night! For this price Here is what you get: - staff does Not understand any english (besides Manager) and IS Not capable of clarifying anything without The manager - Staff at The reception is more focused on watching their Mobile Phone than borhering to even say 'hello' when guests pass by. - when I arrived with three Young Kids The Guy at The reception watched me Handling our luggage and The Baby But did Not bother to Help me - lunchbox or any other Option is Not available If you Go on a boat Trip on The Island which usually Start Early in The Morning. - breakfast is very poor. Small portions and you only have one choice. They offer Not even cereals or yoghurt. - they have a Coffee Shop aside but for breakfast they Serve watery Coffee (i thought IT might be Tea First) for their guests who pay more than USD200 per night. - waitress at breakfast Does Not understand any english and Mixed Up our breakfast Order every single day. WE were a Family of five and she have to us four forks and spoons e.g. there were only few guests, i Wonder how she handles more people - The curtains in The Room are Not big enough to Cover The whole window so that you can See through at night. IT happened also that WE saw other guests in their room Just passing by. - there is a huge construction Work right next To The Hotel. IT IS loud and there is even a hole in The fence. There was a Lot of garbage. - the playground is Not mantained at all. IT would have been Dangerous to let The Kids Play there. - The Hotel is Not Well mantained in General. There was garbage under our terrace, a Lot of broken things. WE were so disappointed that WE canceled The Last night without paying. Given The facts The Manager was friendly but Not willing to give us any refund. I would never ever recommend to book this Hotel for such a high price!!!

Mexican seafood/mariscos restaurant with so much flavor! I ended up visiting a couple of times while in town. The portions are generous and the prices are fair. Don't expect a lot in terms of ambiance, but that's what adds to the authentic charm.

Came here twice during my time on the island. The coconut shrimp and ceviche were delicious.

Absolutely superb restaurant. Recommended by our hotel for the place to go for fresh fish/seafood. Amazing service. Clean. Does not look flash from outside, but as always, looks deceiving - don’t let it put you off! The food was simply incredible. Fresh, tasty and well presented. We had the fillet of fish (catch of the day) and fresh prawns (was told better than octopus by server - really great advice). Lovely complementary starting soup (tomato and fish). We paired mains with guacamole, which was nice and not too crushed. Made a very large meal, would suggest too much usually, but hungry from a long trip, so it all went. Seems all dishes served with tacos and nachos. Had margaritas for drinks which are again, delicious. Thanks for great lunch. We will be back. A hidden gem.

I can only recommend it. I was there 3 times out of my 6 day stay. I usually try new restaurants all the time but it was just too good. The staff are super friendly and totally attentive. Totally warm-hearted. The fish and prawns were delicious and fresh. In terms of price, I would consider it ok... It's a bit more expensive but the portions are large and the quality is good. The only thing I would criticize are the opening hours. Unfortunately it's only open until 18:30. But an early dinner is worth it. A must-go if you want to eat fish.

This is a classic fish place to try the local catch without any pretentious presentation or cooking. Very fresh products and everything done with the outmost care. Very bad experience. Very long waiting time both for ordering and for getting the food and drinks. Drinks arrived after the food. Food arrived without cutlery. One dish was wrong so we had to wait other 30 mins to get a new one. Cappuccino arrived after we finished the dishes despite we ordered it as first thing. Many ingredients are not available already at 11AM (e.g. no salmon and Serrano ham, no fruits so no juices). Food was average quality, nothing exceptional. Waiters understood the bad service and lack of organisation so they applied a small discount, though I would definitely not come back. It’s a pity because it has a good potential.

A really eye-catching brunch place here in Holbox. It's nicely decorated and had a nice vibe to it. I had ordered some chicken waffles I really liked it, the serving size was good and I loved the chicken. The huevos rotos is a bit far from the hams I'm used to here in Spain but it had all the elements of it so we can't really complain. The only complaint I have was the coffee drink that I had, I ordered a horchata with coffee but it was my first time having that so I didn't know what to expect however I've had horchata and coffee before but when I had it, I didn't like how it tasted at all that I could not even continue drinking. By the time I realized that I believe I was served chai latte, we had already left the place so I never really got confirmation on that but I have had chai latte before and I remember it being similar to this so I guess this is just more of a preference thing.

Super cute place to have breakfast! Alex, our server, was kind, professional, and helpful with recommendations. The cold brew and Chilaquiles were great. The prices are very reasonable, especially for the quality and service. They happily welcomed my dog as well. 🐾 definitely check it out!

Beautifully decorated with retro accessories and tropical plants. The place was super busy when we got there, our server was overwhelmed, he was practically the only one working! I really wanted to give this place five stars but, unfortunately the breakfast here is very mediocre and their coffee is really bad! Although Green juice and Chocolate Banana Smoothies were great! Overall I recommend this place for great atmosphere and good vibes

Dont go here. Food is OK but nothing more than that. Doesn’t look as good as the Instagram pictures. Service was terrible. Wait was 20 minutes for the coffee and 30 minutes for food and place wasn’t even full. 3 tables that arrived after got served before us. Waiter didn’t care. This is the only place in Mexico I have been where the waiter forces you to tip +15%… Been here for 3 weeks and never tried it before. Again terrible service so probably the only way they can achieve a decent tip.

Went there in the morning on 6/4/25 and had breakfast. The staff was friendly and the food was great. Unfortunately the next day they had a fire that took out most of the restaurant. This will be closed for a while. I hope they have a chance to get back up and running!

Good one for the empenadas, pretty near the holbox's beach. The empenadas taste good ( i'm a French Chef ) They rised up a bit, there prices since the last one. 45 pesos the empas from now on. And no discount if you wanna take 20 pieces.

We ordered take out from here and it was AMAZING!!! The mushroom empanada was my favorite! My husband loved the bacon and cheese one and the caprese one. I also really liked the onion and cheese one! The broccoli one is SUPER BROCCOLI- they had run out of salsa by the time my husband got there, but if I had some salsa for the broccoli one, it probably would have been pretty tasty!! This was a really delicious spot for lunch- we split five empanadas and were pretty full!

Empanadas for 35 Pesos. Mustaza with chicken was great. I enjoyed this place and tried every day there. Also Mate-Tee and Coffee are great.

When we first tried the empanadas here we thought we got ripped off because it was 40 pesos compared to the other place which is 20 pesos. But after we compared another's, my friends and I all agreed that it was well worth it because it was one of the best empanada with ever had. I had the chicken, potato and mushroom. They say the mushroom is best and most popular.

We wanted a quick snack and this was recommended being close to where we stayed. Friendly service and great tasty empanadas for (I think 35pesos) each. We tried the beef with lemon and carrot with egg and even our one year old loved them. For vegan plant based they had a broccoli empanada and a very very tasty vegan brownie with fruit filling and chocolate coating. We ate them so fast, that there’s no picture evidence. A fresh watermelon and banana juice was made on the spot for us too. Would recommend.

Very tasty empanadas! Good prices and the mushroom one I liked best. Only downside was that when I came back another day the shop should be open from 10AM but when I got there it was still closed. Waited for 20 minutes and nothing happened. So unfortunately couldn’t buy more ;(

These empanadas are delicious! I never made it down to the main shop, but every afternoon "Mr. Empa" walks the beach selling these scrumptious morsels to lazy, sunning beachgoers like myself. We had the onion and cheese, the broccoli and also a ham and cheese, 2 days in a row. All were flakey, flavorful and delightful. An inexpensive and tasty lunch on the most beautiful beach there is... Make sure you try some! Thank you Las Empa!

Really a 3.5 star experience. Great atmosphere and service, but honestly had better tacos at any of the multiple taquerias around the neighborhood. Ceviche was also fine, but miles away in quality from some other spots on the island. May give them another shot if visiting again.

We had dinner there and the food was amazing. The owner (or so we asume 😅) is a fisherman and so we Took the catch of the day. It was perfect! The drinks were amazing as well. Thanks again for a beautiful evening.

This place does a nice job all around! It's small, though, so at peak times, it may be hard to be seated right away. It's worth a wait to sit, though, and dine here. The restaurant resides on a corner and wraps around on both street sides with seating. So it's great too for enjoying people watching whie dining. We had queso fundido, and we each had two tacos, Pollo y Champiñones. The tacos were bigger and NOT street taco size. So we could have gotten by with just one per person. All food was well prepared and tasty. We had two servers, and they were both friendly and attentive, checking in on any needs and quality of plates. If you enjoy Mexican food, come here while in Holbox.

Excellent tacos for a great price! Ranged between $30-60 pesos. Arrachera and al pastor were legit. We ordered volcanes, which are like mini-tostados, with queso. Delicious. Extra spicy cacahuate based salsa had a satisfying kick. Our waiter, Cesar, was very accommodating. Perfect, family friendly, spot to watch the evening unfold in Holbox’s town square.

This place is amazing! Best dinner we had in Mexico. The oysters are to die for! The staff is so kind, they serve a welcoming cocktail to every table. Do not miss this gem when visiting Holobox!

This place had a nice vibe and the food was delicious. We started off with oysters and they were incredible. My friends ordered the shrimp aguachile and I wish I would have ordered that as it was amazing. I got the fried octopus ceviche and thought it was good. It’s pricey though, but very good. Service was excellent.
