Jardín Botanico Dr. Alfredo Barrera Marín is a sprawling 160-acre botanical garden, one of the largest in Mexico, showcasing a diverse collection of plants from medicinal to ornamental. Visitors can explore the lush greenery and ancient trees on a jungle trek via boardwalks through mangroves. The garden also features an array of local fauna coexisting in their natural habitat, including spider monkeys, parrots, and crocodiles at the nearby Crococun Zoo.
Loved it. It is more like a walk in the jungle and seeing the native plants and animals. Not really a botanical garden we are used to in Canada. So this was a great surprise and we loved our 2.5 hour stroll.
Tony G — Google review
This was a great place to visit. No it's not like your average Botanical Garden you'd see in other parts of North America, but it was beautiful just the same. Highly recommend.
C S — Google review
Beautiful nature preserve amidst Mayan ruins. In the jungle (use mosquito repellent) and next to the mangroves. Great hike great trail, great viewing platform. And education and conservation minded as well. We loved this experience.
Richard P — Google review
A beautifully curated window into endemic wildlife, as well as the historical practices of the Maya who occupied this land pre-colonization. Can’t believe this isn’t a more popular spot. Any less than stellar reviews are from those who don’t fully appreciate this sort of environment. Stunning trail (with lookout) in addition to the meticulously maintained botanical collections. Great place to learn some local history / botany, but if that’s not your thing, the beautiful scenery is more than enough to justify a trip. Bring bug spray.
Noah G — Google review
Great place to learn about the local plants and the Mayan culture. Not many amenities and most paths feel like hiking trails.
Michael F — Google review
Good place to visit if you are interested in various trees and Maya culture. We came at round 8:15 in the morning and been there for few hours. Seen few monkeys, hummingbird, butterflies and other. We have been on 2 climbing towers. One steel and one wooden one. The hanging bridge was closed. Lots of mosquitoes, be prepared! They have few washrooms with soap and running water. As of Nov 4,2025 the admission fee was 220 per person. Perhaps that’s why there are hardly any visitors around and why I put 4 stars. The staff was friendly
Igor C — Google review
A nice walk in the jungle, nothing more than that. The amount of mosquitoes is crazy and makes it really difficult to enjoy the place. We didn't see any animals except iguanas. A ticket costs 220 pesos. Overall, I don't recommend the experience.
אילה ע — Google review
I came on 5 November 2025 and had a brilliant time, I'd highly recommend a visit. I personally felt the entry fee of 220 pesos was very reasonable. I was desperate to see the monkeys and after reading others' reviews, I got to the park around 10:20am. I didn't see the monkeys on my first full walk round the park but then I found them in several different places, and there were loads! I saw the most, and found them to be the most active, at 12:45, so I think it's really just your luck and being in the right place at the right time. My tips for keeping an eye out for them: if you see a human, staring up at a tree and smiling, I bet they've seen some monkeys. Otherwise, listen for rustling in the tops of trees, and keep an eye out for falling bits of fruit / nut shells - this could be the monkeys dropping them as they eat, which was a good indicator for me as to when they were about. I even saw a baby monkey before I left. I also saw an iguana, a capybara, and loads of birds and butterflies. The route is easy enough to follow - it's marked out on trees and along little stones on the ground, plus the reception staff will give you a map to use and return if you want. I took one and it was handy. The route round is about 2km. It is mostly a path but be prepared that it's not a 'walking' path but rather a trail cleared through the trees to follow, at least for the longer biodiverse section. It's full of tree roots and steps, so unfortunately not for those who struggle with mobility and I'd recommend sturdy, comfortable shoes. There's lots of information plaques, in Spanish, English and Mayan (I think), which talk about the plants, Mayan tradition, and the animals. Very informative. I'll echo what everyone else says about mosquito repellant - come prepared and doused in repellant as they are everywhere. The easiest way to get here is to drive but I got an Uber in each direction from the city centre and although it added to the price, it was convenient and I didn't have to wait more than 5 minutes for a ride home when I was leaving, even though the park is quite far out of the city. There's parking available for those who do drive.

It is different feeling to watch reefs and sea life under water. Great experience of snorkeling here. Second biggest reef in the world. There are boats that take you where reefs are. You can book snorkeling tour around Puerto Morelos sign.

Great swimming from shore as the reef keeps out larger waves. Excellent for families.

Beach
Playa Publica Puerto Morelos is a serene and laid-back public beach located at the beginning of the Riviera Maya, just a short drive from Cancun International Airport. While the water near the shore may be murky and weedy, there are opportunities for snorkeling with local fishermen to explore the coral reef further out. The beach offers ample space for various activities and boasts calm waters perfect for swimming. Its natural beauty, soft sand, and crystal-clear waters create a tranquil atmosphere ideal for relaxation.
This is our 4th time visiting the area as it is a direct flight from Edmonton, Alberta-a great escape when the winter gets too long.We come here for the wonderful open water swimming as the reef keeps the big waves away. Renting an apartment allows us to purchase fresh seafood and vegetables to prepare. We have done some great outings to Tulum, the cenotes, and other Mayan ruins in the area. We rented bikes and explored the area. You can get around on foot or use local transportation. Love this friendly village and people!
Anne B — Google review
The beach area may have a lot of seaweed however the town itself is super charming, a great combination of architecture, cuisines, tradition and modern lifestyle. The beach area can be walked up and down in an hour or so and the water is beautiful aqua color, aside from the seaweed that seems to be all along this Rivera maya area. In the public beach area you find plenty of fine in options and beach clubs where to grab a drink or stay and eat something. Restaurants are plenty and the same with prices. In general you may find more affordable meals in the beach town than in your resort if you are staying anywhere in the Rivera maya or even Cancun hotels, and if you are adventurous enough you can go back to the main town where most locals live, the colony, and go around those street food vendors or mini restaurants for the real Mexican experience. You will live it like a local! Overall we felt safe, we took the public cans or colectivos from our resort to the bridge of puerto Morelos which is the highway, from there a taxi down to the beach, colectivos or vans are $25 per person, taxis are $40 one way so it is super affordable and you will get to you pay a little less. Tourist take these transportation without hassle seems like. Police and military were patrolling and station at the beach the two times we went and also at the big supermarket in town chadrui. Great people, great sea food and nice stroll! Must visit if you are in the area
John B — Google review
Absolutely gorgeous beach with free access to the general public....not many rocks near the shore makes for an easy swim. Bring your Snorkeling gear as there are many coral reefs and wide varieties of fish species....need to go a distance by boat though(many agencies around). Highly recommend!!! :)
Sanket M — Google review
Beach and village is beautiful, water colour and sand and nice restaurants in town. You can hire boat to go for snorkelling in nearby reefs. In the week when we visited many sargasso were in the shoreline so it is the only issue, although it is not only here, the same problem is all around coastline. People try to clean it away but it takes time.
Edith Z — Google review
Great spot for long distance swimming, protected by reef. The sargassum was piled up at the shore but once you swim out it’s not too bad.
Tiffany K — Google review
I see a beach tractor with rake attached but doesn't seem to be used on beaches very often?? I don't understand why? Should be raked daily! WOULD BE SO... Much more inviting as the beach on both sides of The Lighthouse is beautiful Otherwise. This quaint lil town is a friendly & enjoyable place to visit!
Dee C — Google review
If there is a Heaven on Earth, this beach may just be it. Magic in the air, white coral sands lined with palm trees, aqua Caribbean waters filled with thousands of fish, hundreds of species, coral reefs, restaurants bars and hotels with incredible views of the beach and people from all over the world visiting, staying and living here. I found my loving soulmate here. You might too or come visit with yours and feel the magic.
Dan M — Google review
This was my favorite beach to visit during my 2 week stay in Cancun. The water was always warm and inviting. The people were friendly and stayed away unless you were walking pass the shops. Then they become extremely aggressive and annoying. But overall...it's a cute lil town with an amazing beach. I can hardly wait to go again.

El Merkadito is a well-established beachfront restaurant in Puerto Morelos, offering a seafood-focused menu and a relaxed atmosphere. Situated right on the beach with a terrace overlooking the Caribbean Sea, it provides an idyllic setting for a memorable dining experience. The restaurant is housed in a large building constructed in 1979 and is known for its Caribbean-style seafood dishes served with rice and salad.
If you're in Puerto Morelos, don't miss El Merkadito! This spot offers some of the freshest and most delicious seafood around — everything we tried was flavorful and perfectly prepared. The ceviche was especially outstanding! Pair it with one of their cold artisan beers for the perfect coastal meal. The service was friendly and attentive from start to finish, and the ocean views from the restaurant are simply stunning. Whether you're looking for a relaxing lunch or a sunset dinner, El Merkadito delivers on every level. Highly recommended!

Our family loves this place the food is great and the views from deck or they also have sun beds and service by the beach which is vey nice as well. Ceviches and toast are great here very tasty. The service is bit slow, but everything else is great.

Honestly maybe the best beef tacos I’ve ever had in my life!! Service was incredible too. Friendly staff, delicious food and a beautiful view, what more could you want? Prices were very reasonable too!! My mom’s salmon tostada was also heavenly. Highly recommend!!
Meghan K — Google review
The valet service was good and very helpful. The atmosphere was good, good music, had a live dj for a moment. The service was ok, the drinks was good, French was perfect 👌, cheveche was good and fresh, shrimp was cooked well but the sauce that came with it I didn't like, since I was expecting that curry taste and it was more citrus. The rice was good. Guacamole was presented well, it was fresh.
Damion N — Google review
Loved our lunch here! The tempura shrimp tacos were our favorite. We also saw fresh snapper caught and cooked for other guests. The breeze and view from the sea was amazing. This was by far the best lunch we had while visiting Puerto Morelos
Danielle W — Google review
This place offers a large variety of salsas (tamarindo, hibiscus, habanero, fine herbs, etc) to go with their very good seafood! Although, my table really liked the burger as well. We had a kilo catch of the day served with rice and veggies, ceviche, calamari, etc. Everything was good, catch of the day could of been cooked a bit longer. Service was courteous, but they didn't come as often as we wished. Bill came to 500US for 6ppl and a long beautiful afternoon looking at the amazing view! Great place.

We stopped here first after arriving in PM. We had the whole fish and it was delicious, but careful of the bones. I would say they have the best margarita ever...not too sweet! The view is great too.
Sandra H — Google review
We had two seafood tacos (shrimp and battered fish). Both were very tasty. We also had guacamole, which was well textured and flavoursome. The margaritas came in hearty jugs - the best we've had so far! Thanks to the team for great service.

Fernando was quick in communicating ahead of time, gave us a few options for timings even a last minute addition, and was welcoming when we arrived. It was beautiful, great snorkeling 🤿 with our kids. Our guide Larry was very nice and chill, which I appreciated. We were totally relaxed. I hope we can do this again someday. Hands down recommend this business. We saw lots of beautiful colorful fish 🐠 🐟 I cannot remember their names!

I wish I could give this company more stars. Fernando was so easy to communicate with from the initial message I sent right through to meeting him. We have just come back from a morning of snorkelling with Larry our captain and Laura our guide. Laura was very patient with me as I was a little nervous but had no need to be, she guided me and I had a wonderful experience. If you are thinking of snorkelling I would highly recommend Bliss Diving. Thank you so much.

We spend a very nice moment diving with Fernando. Very professionnal, clear planning and explanations. All we need to enjoy safely the beautiful Puerto Morelos reef. I highly recommend ! Thanks again to Fernando and Larry.
Bob C — Google review
We recently went snorkeling with our two young children (4 and 7 years old). From the moment we contacted Fernando to the end of our excursion, everything was smooth and professional. Fernando was incredibly responsive and helpful—always quick to answer our questions. During the excursion, it wasn’t easy at first as my children were scared, but both Larry the captain and Laurla the guide were extremely patient and reassuring. The guide took such great care of our 7-year-old that my partner and I were able to fully enjoy the experience ourselves, knowing our kids were safe and in good hands. We felt secure the entire time, and we saw tons of colorful fish, a sea turtle, coral reefs, and all the stunning marine beauty the area has to offer. We were truly well taken care of in every way! It ended up being one of the most memorable highlights of our trip. I was especially happy to learn that Laurla had a camera with her, which meant she was able to capture this beautiful moment for us. Later that afternoon, she even came back to the beach to offer us the photos at a very reasonable price—such a thoughtful touch that made the whole experience even more special.

We had a wonderful time snorkelling today with Larry! We were fortunate to see turtles, an eagle ray, squid, and many beautiful fish. Fernando is lovely, very informative, and easy to communicate with via WhatsApp. We had a truly memorable experience that I highly recommend to anyone visiting Puerto Morelos. Thank you! 🐠🐢🤿

Superb family snorkeling experience. Easily organised with Fernando who was friendly and professional. Larry, our boat captain and guide, was a pleasure to be with and he was very helpful throughout. It was a wonderful experience for all of us, so much to see and plenty of time to enjoy every moment. I highly recommend choosing Bliss. Glad to have experienced a local company who offer a wonderful experience at a reasonable price.

Very well organized by Fernando and we went snorkeling with Cornelio who showed us every fish he could see. We had a very good time, in a peaceful and quiete atmosphere. I appreciated that we be been told to be very respectful with the sea, the fishes , and the coral. We left at 12h and came back around 14h , which was the perfect timing. Thanks for everything

Nestled in front of the iconic Puerto Morelos lighthouse, La Sirena is a vibrant restaurant and lounge that offers an eclectic culinary experience. With a menu featuring everything from mini sliders to barbecue pulled pork, there's something for everyone. For Mediterranean enthusiasts, chef Anthony Chalas brings authentic Greek flavors to life with dishes like homemade hummus and the refreshing Athena salad adorned with feta and kalamata olives.
We went to La Sirena for dinner on the last night of our vacation and we loved it! We would recommend this restaurant to anyone. The stunning view of the water during sunset is hard to beat, and on top of that the food and drinks are amazing! I would also like to add that Robyn, our server, was great. He was extremely kind and attentive. Always making sure we had what we needed.

Excellent service by Frankie! Food was wonderful and delicious. Loved the ceviche! Thursday night was a live jazz band which drew a nice crowd, great time with friends, perfect atmosphere- we were on the rooftop.
Teresa M — Google review
What a beautiful spot! Hubby and I went here for my birthday- eve supper and had such a wonderful experience. When we were asked where we wanted to sit, I asked for rooftop, but said I was concerned it was going to rain as it had been thundering most of the evening. The hostess assured us it wasn't going to rain (and it didn't! Always trust the locals!). We ordered a bottle of Pinot Grigio to have table- side, my husband ordered the lamb shank and I had the chicken souvlaki. Everything was delicious! And the service was outstanding. I wish I remembered to grab our waiter's name- he was remarkable. I mentioned in passing what a lovely birthday eve dinner it was and he said, oh, it's your birthday, good to know. At the end of our meal he came out with a delightful surprise dessert, while all the patrons sang Happy Birthday! What an experience! We stayed for a few more drinks to watch the flamenco show as well. I honestly cannot recommend La Sirena enough. Everyone was polite, the food and drinks were terrific, and the atmosphere is one of the best port side.

Excellent Greek food! We ordered a Greek salad, an Octopus dish and a shrimp pasta dish. Food was seasoned and cooked to perfection, vast menu with lots of great options. Sat on the rooftop, had great views of the water. A live band started not long before we left, they sounded amazing!

UPDATE: The owner and staff more than made up for the cancellation of our 20th anniversary rooftop dinner reservation After posting a very negative review following the cancellation of our rooftop reservation, the owner, Anthony, contacted us and explained what happened, apologized, and generously offered us complimentary tickets to the rooftop Day of the Dead performance which we gladly accepted. The dancers were professionals and the performance was amazing. It was a wonderful tribute to Mexican culture. For dinner m, we ordered the calamari, grouper, and lion fish and the food was superb. Our drinks were fantastic too. It was all around the best dining experience we had in Puerto Morelos. That’s why I was so upset with the changed of prior plans for our anniversary because I knew it would be something special. But it even exceeded my previous expectations. Anthony and his staff have a wonderful restaurant and they provided exceptional service. It wasn’t just for us following the issue - you could tell they valued their customers. I’m glad to admit I was wrong in my previous review and highly recommend La Sirena for a finer, yet not pretentious, dining experience in Puerto Morelos. The prices were reasonable given the superior quality of the food and drinks. We’ll happily return when we next visit! Muchas gracias, Anthony and staff at La Sirena!

Food was very good, ceviches are highly recommended as well as the calamari, rib eye was very nice as well; service was attentive and the views of the sea are priceless! Furniture is not comfortable though. Kitchen closes at 9pm. Desserts are good, the guayaba cheesecake was delicious!

Drink is really good, and that what they deserve a good note about. Food was not tasty at all. All sauce was too much spicy, not little. They do not give normal sauce without strong spicy. Vibe is Latina with open areas close to the beach. It adds on the vibe. The presentation is good. Service is just correct. I recommend it only for the drink.

Our experience with Twin Hooks combined with us being able to enjoy a 5-Star meal prepared using our catch was absolutely top notch! ... We fished the morning until late afternoon and came back in the evening with out wives for an out of this world culinary experience! ... If you have the opportunity, you absolutely must enjoy a meal at Pelícanos! ... Family owned and operated and with exceptional service!

Excellent food. Atmosphere problem is that people on the beach plays their music so you have 4 different songs at the same time, mixed with the music of the restaurant. En general good experience, amazing service.

Best breakfast value in town. Food was excellent and was prepared properly. Delicious way to start your day in paradise. Decor was very tropical and made the experience outstanding.

Great food & ambience! We can recommend the huevos rancheros & the yoghurt bowl! Excellent flavors. The coffee was too watery & lacked flavor :)
Dunja O — Google review
For the eggs Benedict they let me get one of one kind and one of another. So I got one of ham and one of spinach. The ham was better but both were good. I wish the spinach one had goat cheese I think it would’ve really made it. The eggs Benedict sauce had a lot of lime/lemon but it was still good. There was no ac here but the restaurant itself was very cute. My partner got the pesto sandwich and he said he doesn’t like goat cheese but still thought it was good. We spent $440 for 2 entrees and a drink.

My husband and I spent a week in Puerto Morelos and had breakfast at El Nicho twice. Both experiences were fantastic. From the moment we walked in, a server greeted us with a smile and asked where we wanted to sit. They were quick to take our order and to bring our coffees and the freshest freshly squeezed orange juice I've ever had! Food was quick to come out, and was hot and delicious. The toast is also homemade bread - so good! Wish we had discovered this spot early in our trip so we could have gone more often. Highly recommend!

Awesome people great attentiveness food was delicious.Probably my favorite breakfast I had in cancun area worth to drive. So good, even the common folks come here along with local tourism. Honestly, they make in-house fresh bread. Coffee is great really delicious. And probably the best priced for what you get

Chef Romo takes pride in sourcing most ingredients directly from her own organic farm along the scenic Ruta de los Cenotes, ensuring each meal bursts with flavor and freshness.
Good love music at night sometimes. Good food and drinks, fair prices. The lobster Alfredo was tasty. Drinks were about $8 and tasted good but not the biggest we had for that price. The quesadillas were very underwhelming. Really enjoy their tables on the street at night.

We ate here a few days ago. The food and service was very good. We had the lime marinaded chicken and the ribs. Both both dishes were cooked to perfection and the ribs came with a delicious bourbon bbq sauce. All great and highly recommended.

We came in fairly late ~9:30pm. It wasn’t busy at this time. Service was outstanding with quick friendly service. Food was great ( we had the chef salad and Caesar salad) and a few drinks. Amazing restaurant, a must try if you’re in the Puerto Morelos area. They were able to accommodate our very large wedding group (30 people!) with a few days notice. They had vegan and vegetarian options and such fresh food. They had live music come in the late evening. Our wait staff Armando and David were absolutely fabulous and they hustled while staying charismatic balancing managing our chaos and needs. Karla the chef checked in with our group multiple times which was a special added touch. The tortilla soup and catch of day were favorites. Note, the best deserts I’ve had in a long time. Try the Gouda flan! Great for kids with burgers, fries, and quesadillas. Spoke great English and had English menus.

Swim with Dolphins
Delphinus Puerto Morelos is a fantastic destination for anyone looking to dive into the enchanting world of marine mammals. This park offers an array of engaging activities, particularly swimming with dolphins, which stands out as a highlight during your visit to Puerto Morelos. Plan to spend around 3-4 hours here to fully enjoy the experience and take advantage of attractive online discounts if you book in advance.
Great excursion! Picked up in the afternoon and transported quickly. The staff was friendly and helpful. Clean bathrooms/ changing area. Free lockers and towels. There is also a nice little snack bar (food and drinks to purchase) and a comfortable seating area to enjoy while waiting.
Alicia O — Google review
The dolphins were great, although I felt like their noses were a little torn up from pushing people out of the water. The pictures are priced outrageous ($50 a photo), and you aren't allowed to take any with your own phone. The staff was nice. Everyone spoke excellent English. They did seem to care about the animals, which is a big deal to me. The water was not clear, like in the pictures, but they have multiple locations. The facilities for showering were clean. All in all I would recommend.
Jessica C — Google review
The experience itself was memorable. However the picture package is highway robbery and spoils it, also considering that no phones/cameras are allowed to take your own images. The package is offered at 274$!!! It was negotiated down to $140 by a girl named Sara. She was supposed to email a payment link that made these images available. I was willing to pay, but the link wasn't sent. When I followed up and contacted the phone number provided during the sales pitch of the pictures, I was given a high price again. The person wouldn't offer the price of 140$ as given during the visit. Spoils the fun.
Birgit H — Google review
I went on this excursion with my two kids on 8/23/25, and overall the experience was wonderful. The price for the three of us was standard, and the dolphin encounter itself was excellent. We were able to touch and swim with the dolphins, and the staff was extremely knowledgeable and friendly, which made the experience even better. One drawback is that you’re not allowed to use your own camera or phone. Instead, a photographer follows you and takes photos throughout the activity. While this is convenient, the price of the photos at the end was absolutely outrageous. Even after trying to negotiate, I felt the cost did not match the value, so I chose not to purchase any. The dolphin experience itself was amazing and worth it, but the photo pricing policy left a negative impression.
Wazir A — Google review
Experience was alright, my little one tired of it quickly. (your mileage may vary on that front). As everyone else has pointed out, the photo upselling is outrageous. My overall rating for this place comes from the facilities etc for the dolphins. My spidey sense was tickling with all their over the top “for a blue planet” etc marketing, it felt like marketing alone with no real evidence to back it up. The dolphins themselves are a bit worse for the wear, when I asked about the scratches, assuming it meant they were rescues, it turns out the males do this to each other. I suspect being crowded in a small enclosure makes them act out on each other. Also, the dolphins themselves are bred in captivity, none are rescues. When I did some independent research afterwards, there was a lot about how these environments aren’t really humane for the dolphins themselves. I would not go again
Jordan W — Google review
The experience was alright, but I would not do it again. The cost for the actual excursion was already steep, and the photos were absurdly expensive which ultimately ruined it for me. The photos were also very poor quality, and I wouldn't have wanted most of them even with a good price. I ended up purchasing a single photo for $52 USD, and I regret even doing this.
Keelie W — Google review

Amazing lunch with friends. Have been in Puerto Morelos for nine years and these were the best fish tacos I’ve ever had. The Caribbean Fish ceviche with the coconut presentation and flavor was second to none.

Starting with the very friendly service, followed by great cocktails, and the delicious food. We enjoyed a seafood pizza cooked in a wood oven, tacos de pescado Ensenada style, everything was so tasty and of course to top it all the view! Right on the beach. Beautiful restaurant right by the water with amazing views. It was the perfect setting! I ordered the carne asada tacos and they were tasty but I think they may have been missing some sort of sauce? The real star of the show was the giant slice of chocolate cake. We shared it between four people and couldn't even finish it! So decadent! Brillante food. I had the Caribbean burger (sirloin ) well done. It was perfect, and my wife had the super burrito chicken aslo A1. The only negative was that they didn't have cushion seats with back rest, so it was a little uncomfortable if you're there for more than an hour. Will be back in two days. Thank you, guys.

Day & Night Beach Club in Puerto Morelos is a delightful escape for beach lovers seeking a laid-back atmosphere without breaking the bank. So inviting to get out of the sun. Only 300 pesos to chill all day with use of their bathroom. We sat and bought some empanadas from a guy walking by. Some of the best food we had that day. Mau is the reason I discovered this bar, he’s a waiter/server here and I meet him last night at the ocean, we shared some Modelos beers and a Cuban cigar that I provided with a couple of his friends. It was a real pleasure meeting him and he made me feel like home here. If you speak English there’s a good chance you’ll become good friends with him since he’s interested in learning the language better (my Spanish definitely improved in a couple of days quite a bit because of Mau). The atmosphere is amazing and right beside the ocean, enough shade for everyone or you can sit in the sun if you prefer. Music Choice here is perfect for vacation between relaxation, chill, upbeat and makes you talkative ❤️.

This is a perfectly laid back spot to hang out on the beach, skipping the all inclusive experience. It is nice to only pay for what you use (we rented chairs and a palapa, had a few drinks). Service was very friendly, drinks were served in glass which makes me nervous on a beach, and we might go back for snorkeling lessons because the lady offering seemed very cool. The pool is shaded and very nice.

I went to this beach club spent my $$$ there and was refused when I asked to use the restroom. I was leaving anyway but went to use the bathroom and the lady that took my money originally asked where I was sitting so I pointed to the beach chairs then she asked who was my waiter. Had I known this I would’ve tried to remember his name. I only had one drink and some fries was charged and additional 250.00 pesos on top of the 500 I had paid for two and I couldn’t use the facilities. What a piece of trash. Never again! I only had to pee but what if it was an emergency? I hate trashy places and this is one of them. In addition the water was disgustingly brown looked and smelled gross. On top of all that I was sick to my stomach all night. Don’t spend your money here go elsewhere.
Annie M — Google review
Half of the items on the menu were unavailable — chicken? No. Pizza? No. Burger? No., they only had tacos and seafood. They didn’t even have iced coffee or the advertised lemonade flavors. As soon as you sit down on a sunbed, the staff immediately comes to tell you that you have to purchase a day pass. That’s fine, but once you buy it, they completely lose interest in you — no one comes to check on you the entire day unless you approach them first. We moved to the restaurant area for lunch, but no one came to us for 40 minutes, and they kept making excuses that the colleague responsible for our table had to come. Terrible experience — never again. The sunbeds are old and broken, the pool is dirty. Don’t go there.

Stephanie at Ojo de Agua beach club provides exceptional and professional service. Today I witnessed her deal professionally with a very difficult customer. The woman actually threw her plate of food at the staff. This woman was extremely rude and disrespectful. Stephanie handled it with professionalism and class. This woman’s review of Stephanie is completely wrong as I was one of the people she counted in her “group”. Honestly, we didn’t know this woman well and we were all ashamed of her behavior and treatment of several people today, including Stephanie, who took the brunt of this woman’s rage. Thank to the Ojo staff for removing this woman, keeping everyone safe and keeping Ojo a great place to come for food, drinks and a fun day at the beach.

Definitely the best beach club here. The water in front of this beach club is clearer than further down the beach. You also have the cenote that you can snorkel out to. You pay 250 pesos each for use of the lounger and umbrella, but then they give you a $200 credit towards food and drinks. So for two of you it really only cost you 100 pesos and then you have 400 pesos credit . The food here is good. The drinks are great and Stephanie is just amazing.

I recently traveled to Puerto Morelos for a wedding and had a very limited window to fit in some diving. After contacting several dive shops in the area via calls and emails, I decided to book with Wetset Adventures, and I'm so glad I did! I had two main goals: to experience my very first night dive and to pack in as many other dives as possible. From the start, Felicity was incredibly helpful, working with me to meticulously plan and schedule my dives weeks in advance, ensuring I had a spot on the days I was free. My first day of diving was exceptional. I was the only diver booked on the Zebra boat that morning, and my dive master, Christopher, took the time to truly understand my skill level and craft a personalized dive plan that was absolutely perfect for me. Christopher and our captain, Pollo, were not only incredibly professional and safety-conscious but also genuinely knowledgeable and personable. I learned so much about the local area and its fascinating marine life from them. My second day was equally memorable, diving with Christopher, Juan, and Mariana. All three were outstanding, making each dive an absolute pleasure. The highlight, though, was the extraordinary effort made to accommodate my "bucket list" night dive. There were no night dives scheduled on the day I had available, but Dave, the owner, personally came in that evening to open up the shop just for me, even though he was traveling the very next day! This level of dedication and customer service is truly remarkable. Thank you, Dave, Christopher, Pollo, Felicity, Juan, and Mariana, for an absolutely wonderful and unforgettable diving experience! Wetset Adventures goes above and beyond, and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a top-tier diving adventure in Puerto Morelos.

I had an amazing time scuba diving! The staff was incredibly encouraging, even when I panicked and cried on my first day because of the strong currents. Our instructor, Chris, was especially supportive—he always knew what to say to help me feel safe and confident before each dive. He was also extremely attentive during our group dives, making sure everyone completed their safety stops and had enough air during deep dives like the wreck dive. Chris helped us take some underwater photos, and our whole group had a fantastic experience. We saw so much marine life—nurse sharks, lobsters, crabs, a spotted eel, puffer fish, drum fish, sea cucumbers, and tons of other amazing creatures. The night dive was a highlight, with sleeping fishes and lots of nocturnal creatures coming to life. Overall, an unforgettable adventure!

We did the Long Weekend (reef dives, night dive, Cozumel) diving package with Wet Set, along with a refresher. Felicity was great at coordinating everything and made sure to triple check with us we remembered what time we had to be there for the various dives :) We chose the Cozumel trip as part of the package and loved it! We dove a site on the wall and managed to do a wreck, which was awesome. Dave, the owner, was our guide for Cozumel and made sure we had a safe dive (and also was super knowledgeable on the type of fish they have there). For our other dives we dove with Juan, who has dove over 6000(!!!) times, and he took great care of us! The boat captains taking us out to our reef dives were also super great, and the boats (Flamingo and Jaguar) are very cute! Highly recommend Wet Set, it was safe, clean, ano well organized, with a truly personal touch we will remember :) We will be back!

Fantastic experience from start to finish. They were organized, timely and kind. We saw sea turtles, nurse sharks, barracudas and lots of tropical fish. The currents can be a tad strong so I would recommend being a moderately good swimmer. However, our guide did have a life saver in case someone got tired. They provide fins, which made it so much easier. Also, I was impressed that we booked this tour for two people and although we were the only ones that signed up for that time they did not cancel. Very professional and trustworthy.

Marcos and Moises were brilliant on our classic snorkel tour. Despite it being a bit windy we felt really safe and had an amazing time snorkelling on the reef and saw rays, a turtle, barracuda and so many beautiful fish! I’d definitely recommend Wet Set for snorkelling in Puerto Morelos!

After ditching our usual taco/margarita lunch plans, we decided to book a classic snorkel tour based on reviews. Super easy check in/welcome. Captain Marcos took us out on el jaguar, and Mariana was our amazing, informative tour guide. We had a great time. Saw some sea turtles, along with many gorgeous fish. Even had a wee chat with the owner, Dave, when we returned. Would recommend 100%
Dyana S — Google review
Great people working together. We arrived earlier and they let us start early! We were lucky that we were the only one booked on the snorkeling slot. So it was awesome like a private tour. This was our first time trying snorkeling in the open sea. Not the best swimmer, and the tour guide, Christopher, helped a lot and noticed that I am not a good swimmer when we just got into the water. So he made sure we were good the whole time. He guided us the whole time and let us know where to go and what to see. We saw sea turtles, baby shark and yellow stingrays a lot a lot a lot of fish. Would love to go again in the future

This is fine dining at its best! From the ambiance to the service to the food, nothing is short of excellent! We were well taken care of by Felipe! And we got to see the lovely owner Dora during our meal. We’ve eaten here several times now and every time the food has been cooked perfectly and the service stellar! This place never disappoints. Looking forward to our next visit!

Here’s where you want to go for a bit more upscale dining experience but not too bougie. Ideal atmosphere for an intimate date or business dinner, and casual enough for getting together with friends. Quality ingredients, ambiance and service calls for a higher prices but still reasonable for the dining experience. We had 2x Don Julio Reposado, shared calamari appetizer, spicy cauliflower side dish, Fish of the Day special, roasted Chicken with Pesto, and shared the owner’s baked Key Lime pie. Total cost including 10% gratuity came out to 1,831 MXN ($108 USD) We enjoyed our meal, atmosphere, service - overall great experience and will come here again

We had the chicken special and the pork loin specials. Both dishes were amazing!! Between 3pm-6pm they have a special where you get a half portion meal with a glass of wine or beer for 250 pesos! The portions are more than big enough. Ambiance is very nice and Felipe our waiter was fantastic!!!

Honestly the best culinary experience in Puerto Morelos! The quality of the meals is out off this world. The best chicken you'll have in your life. The consistency throughout the year is on point. Taste the same now that it did in 2010. Would 100% recommend. Affordable too, 66$ USD for 1 entree and 2 main courses.

Have been eating here since our first trip to Puerto Morelos in 2003. The food was excellent however half the menu was blacked out. The staff was friendly but we did miss seeing Dora this trip. It was low season so nothing in town is very crowded. While there are new restaurants in Puerto Morelos that can now compete with John Grey’s Kitchen this place will always have special memories and a place in my heart so I totally recommend a meal here when you visit Puerto Morelos! Hope John Grey’s Kitchen is around for many years to come! - Dan

Very very pricey. My guess is it won't be there in a year or two. The appetizers were ok. The main courses were pretty. Green beans instead of asparagus.. The shrimp was very good. The steak was average. The fish was average. Calamari was a bit chewy but the sauce made it decent. The crab cakes were decent as well. The polenta was a bit bland. Not a big polenta fan anyway. The garlic bread was the winner of the evening in my opinion.

This is exactly what we were looking for tonight! It is a classy place, the outside dining area was elegant and tranquil. The service was awesome and the food..... the food was some of the best I've had anywhere let alone Puerto Morelos!! The pork loin was fabulous, the duck was amazing! We had all the duck(tacos, enchiladas and breast), it was incredible. I will definitely recommend this place to anyone traveling to PM.

La Pepita, a recommended establishment by a Hertz representative, offers an ideal brunch spot for those seeking a quick and hassle-free dining experience upon arrival. Though the restaurant may not possess the same level of elegance as its beachfront counterparts, it compensates with delectable fare available at reasonable prices. The service provided is amicable and efficient, ensuring a pleasant visit every time.
Great food, great service. We showed up at the same time a large birthday party was getting seated. The service was a bit slow and food came out in stages. This was not an issue for us we are on vacation right no hurries, no worries. The food was worth the wait. The atmosphere is great and super family friendly.

Wonderful dinner there with our little girls. We ordered the fish a la diabla , coconut shrimp and the hamburger. It was wonderful. Really tasty and affordable. They also had a little playground for kids , it was a great addition for our girls. They kept busy while waiting for the food. The waiter we had was very nice.

This is a block or two away from the more tourist focused center of town. Always helps if you attempt Spanish with the locals, one of whom pointed us to this restaurant. The grouper (chef selection fish) was decent; however, the tuna tostada and fried shrimp tacos were truly amazing. Solid beer selection. Our waiter was nice enough to call us a cab.

Absolutely fantastic food - we’ve travelled the world and this is honestly the best meal we’ve ever eaten!!! Diego and team were incredibly welcoming and accommodating :) the inside area opens up in to a really beautiful and romantic dining area with palm trees, there are swings at the bar and the cocktails are fantastic. It’s also very very well priced generally but for the quality of food, it’s a bargain! Don’t go to the touristy restaurants on the beach or nearby - this is THE BEST in town if not in Mexico.

Me and my friend went eating here. First of all, I pointed at the menu what I wanted. It would cost me 295 mexican peso's. The man was talking English with Spanish words. I was like yeah yeah I want this fish of 295 peso's. Secondly, every 5 minutes the man was pushing too hard to get a margarita of 140 mexican pesos.. Thirdly, the food was not good, cold, not tastefull. Furthermore, when we wanted to pay, we saw on the bill that my fish was 450 mexican pesos. They totally did the wrong one. But we are persons who don't complain about that, so we payed but no tip. But I write this review on what happened next. When we left the man went screaming and followed us to outside because we didn't give a tip. I am never ever going back to this awfull place.
Minkieboy — Google review
The service was great and the atmosphere was nice. Unfortunately I was disappointed in the food (more of what I ordered possibly). I had been wanting fried fish for several days and came upon this nice place. I also look at reviews and pictures and saw beautiful fillets of fried fish. So I asked about the breaded fish and was told it was fired and recommended the red sea bass. I ordered it and it was not what I expected. It was a very large (Country breaded steak patty). It was dry and tarter sauce is not available. Rice and fries also were disappointing. The chips and trimmings were nice. Give it a try, but do not order what I did.

Amazing food! We loved everything from the complementary tortilla chips that were wholegrain and the best we had the entire trip, to the red paprika dip they brought, to the fresh ceviche. Amazing food, and the prices were fair too.

Faro Inclinado, the iconic leaning lighthouse of Puerto Morelos, is a must-see landmark that tells a story of resilience and history. Constructed in 1946 from Mayan stones, this charming structure stands at 33 feet tall. It became famous after Hurricane Beulah struck in 1967, tilting its foundation but ultimately making it an enduring symbol of strength for the community. Today, Faro Inclinado attracts countless visitors eager to capture its unique angle in photographs and on postcards.
You might call this the center of Puerto Morales. It is in numerous murals. Nearby is the church and square. It is pleasant walk along the beach here at the end of March. There are several restaurants along the beach and many boats offering snorkeling.

Great beach for swimming Went with Coopertiva (located 1 block inland from the lighthouse) on snorkeling tour to the reef, and highly recommend them. We spent much longer on reef than with the fancy big name companies but be aware that they use Pongas for boats and have to get your feet wet launching from beach. Bring your own snack and beverages and wear a swim shirt as sunscreen is not allowed. Seriously please do not wear sunscreen as the coral is already stressed and dying in many places. Snorkeling for 4 for $100, would have been $400 with the bigger operators.

If you're seeking an unforgettable diving experience, look no further than Dive With Ruben in Puerto Morelos. Nestled along the stunning Mesoamerican Barrier Reef, this destination boasts some of the clearest waters and richest marine life you'll find anywhere. Whether you're a seasoned diver or just starting out, this location is perfect for all skill levels. During my two-week stay in Puerto Morelos, I had the pleasure of diving with Dive With Ruben for four incredible days.
We were down on a family vacation, staying at one of the resorts north of Puerto Morelos. Abi had arranged for our pick up and drop off, and it could not have been more simple! We got to the dive shop and she had everything set up for us to try on, and we were off to our first day of diving, on the reef. The walk to the boat from the dive shop was about 2 minutes. We did two dives in the afternoon, and had the boat all to ourselves. 6 divers. Adrian was amazing guiding us to see so much! Two days later we got picked up early for a day at the cenotes! I have been diving for 40 years, and cenotes should be a bucket list check off! Adrian and Gemma led us around a world that can only be imagined, until experienced. Lunch was provided and the whole crew took amazing care of us all! If you are looking for a small operation, with perfect customer service, "Dive with Ruben", is your place.

Fantastic SCUBA diving experience at Dive With Ruben. This is my second time using them. We dived the wreck and saw a massive shoal eagle rays which hovered over the deck right in front and above us. Another favorite was the Aquarium reef. Loads of fish, lobsters, turtles, barracuda and the occasional reef shark. The dive masters were attentive to safety measures and explaining the dives. Also great at pointing out stuff to see.

We spent two weeks in Puerto Morelos and did four days of diving with Dive with Ruben, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. From start to finish, the entire team both in the office and on the boat was professional, friendly, and truly passionate about what they do. We did a variety of dives: two on the beautiful local reef, a day trip to Cozumel, the C56 wreck, and two stunning cenote dives. Every dive was well-organized, safe, and full of marine life and wonder. A special thank you to Adrian, our dive master for all four days. He was, without a doubt, the most passionate and knowledgeable dive master we’ve ever had the pleasure of diving with. His love for the sport is contagious, and his friendly approach made every dive even more amazing. Not only is he a fantastic guide, but also just a genuinely nice guy who made our experience unforgettable. If you’re diving in Puerto Morelos, we highly recommend Dive with Ruben. Thank you for the memories—we’ll be back!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely amazing dive experience! Dive with Ruben took my husband, daughter, and son out for eight unforgettable dives—and they had an incredible time from start to finish. From the moment we walked into the dive shop, we felt welcomed and taken care of. The entire team was warm, professional, and clearly passionate about diving. The dive master was truly inspiring—a wealth of knowledge and experience who made everyone feel safe and confident. The dive assistant was upbeat and brought a great energy to the group; my family said he added so much fun to the day! They explored stunning marine life and saw turtles, sting ray, a shark and so many fish, dove a shipwreck, went on a deep dive, and even ventured into the magical cenotes. Every single dive was a highlight. We would absolutely recommend Dive with Ruben to anyone looking for an incredible dive experience in Puerto Morelos. And without a doubt, when we return, we’ll be diving with them again!

My daughter (17) and I are both Advanced Open Water divers, and my 14-year-old son has his Junior Open Water certification. We dove with Dive with Ruben for a week, and the experience could not have been better. We did 9 dives in total—reef dives, a shipwreck, and 2 cenote/cave dives. My son joined us for 4 of them, and the entire experience was incredible from start to finish. Our dive master Adrian was exceptional—personable, calm, incredibly kind, and just a joy to be around. what stood out was that we never once felt unsafe, and it was obvious how much he cared about the ocean, the experience, and each of us. Pablo was also with us on several dives and brought the same level of warmth and professionalism. Abi, who helped us coordinate everything before we arrived, was amazing—quick to respond, super organized, and just made everything easy. These guys went above and beyond. You could tell this isn’t just a job for them—they really love what they do, and it shows in the level of care and attention they bring to every detail. The team was flexible when we had to adjust our schedule due to weather, and everything flowed so smoothly. The diving itself was spectacular. The reefs around Puerto Morelos are vibrant and healthy—we saw sea turtles, eagle rays, nurse sharks, barracuda, and a huge variety of marine life. The shipwreck dive was a particular highlight, and the cenote dive was absolutely magical. This was a truly memorable experience for our whole family, and I honestly can’t recommend Dive with Ruben highly enough. We hope to be back one day. Huge thanks to Adrian, Pablo, Abi, and the whole team!
Sean B — Google review
The whole team here was amazing. Abi, who runs the shop, was super responsive and helpful in planning my dives. I was a last minute diver who was craving as many dives as I could get and she went above and beyond to help me! Always patient and kind, I really appreciated her. A newer to diving friend joined me on the first day, Abi set it up so that I could jump in on her ocean dives after her pool dives. It was wonderful. Adrian who was both the instructor and later guide was knowledgeable, careful, and friendly. He was present without being overbearing and it was enjoyable for us both. I then came back the next day to dive the local shipwreck. Again, Adrian led as guide and I felt safe and also agency when diving. Never left alone but not hyper monitored I loved everything about the way he guided our dives. So much I ended up sticking around another couple of days and squeezing in 6 more dives. In total it ended up being about 10 dives in 4 days all planned pretty last minute but Abi, Adrian and Oscar, our reliable capitan, were all totally game. I tend to be quite shy and often embarrassed by my mid level Spanish skills but they were all so friendly and happy to speak either my bad Spanish or English for my comfort that I felt myself relax and start to open up. It meant a lot. It was just a great shop overall. Solid equipment, good prices, and reliable team. If ever I go back I will be sure to dive here again. Cannot recommend enough!

The Mexican Artisan Market in Puerto Morelos is a hidden gem located on the main square near the beach. Open every Friday and Saturday from 5pm to 11pm, it offers a wide variety of locally made crafts and products. One standout item is the unique hammocks crafted by a local family with decades of experience. Visitors can also find an array of tequila liquors to sample at lower prices than elsewhere, as well as colorful souvenirs and handcrafted goods perfect for bargaining.
First time on a Cancun trip to Puerto Morelos. Cute, fun town, lots of restaurants and the marketplace was so much fun with lots of reasonably priced hand made goods
John H — Google review
Fun to shop at stores in this market, but prices are high. Substantially better prices can be found in Playa del Carmen for most souvenirs and tourist items.
Matt B — Google review
DO NOT go into the store that faces the open city square! That man took us inside and shut the door, trapping us inside! They will claim it is to keep in the air conditioning, but they shut the door and stay near it to keep you from easily leaving. You cannot move in that place without the main shopkeeper pouncing on you and harassing you. And when he realized I could understand and speak Spanish, his shady conversation with his female shop help declined drastically. Despite this horrendous tactic, I kept my calm and didn't have a frantic fight-or-flight response. I know these places are not true artisan markets, but I will look at times just to see if anything could be of interest (even as a small gift to someone). I did like a dress, and I did ask about price, but he had the audacity to say it was handmade and high-quality fabric, and my "special discount" was $95! Get real; what highway robbery! Little did he know, I work with fabric and in sewing/crochet/knit, and I knew 100% that the dress was not a high-quality fabric, nor was it handcrafted. If you know where and how to look, you can tell it's factory machine stitching AND where they've cut the tags out. As we tried to leave, he held us hostage in the store with the closed door and said he'd take $80. I explained we didn't have that much cash on us (because we didn't), and he pressured us to use our credit card (which I was not going to allow). The harassment and pressuring is infuriating, especially when you know they are bold-face lying to you about their merchandise. We got out of there and I immediately had to walk across to the coast line for open air because I needed to shake the feeling of being a trapped animal. Heed my words, DO NOT go into the store that faces the open city square.

Completely overpriced shops, often trying to rip you off (everyday they say different prices depending on how gringo they think you are). Only good thing is the large amount of options
Thierry D — Google review
Hidden gem! During my walk in this arts and crafts market, I found a nice place that was very different from the other small local stores. It's huge and they have a nice combination of things: they had the best tequila liquors (coco, chocolate, coffee ets) You can taste each and every of them. And the price is $36 - $39 instead of $60 like the others want for 750ml bottle. In Duty Free they sell Bacardy tequila liquors only. There was a very nice chocolate store with a good selection of bars. Reasonable prices for all souvenirs. Big jewelry store with silver and gold items. I found Mexican fire opals there and it wasn't artificial plastic but real ones. It was a pleasure to meet Ilker in this jewelry store - he is a high level professional in his field, besides the fact that he speaks many many languages, he knows everything about gem stones. My dream came true! As I was looking for a fire opal in big cities and big stores, but they didn't have any of them. But this little village had what I was looking for - it was amazing!

Parque la Colonia, also known as Colonia Joaquin Zetina Gazca, is situated west of the highway and the mangroves. It mainly consists of residences, including private one or two-story houses, gated communities, and family-owned shops. While not particularly remarkable, this area is generally peaceful and quiet. Locals often take a short 5-minute stroll from their apartments to the Helado/ Coffee shop for affordable and delicious morning coffee.

We usually walked the 5 minutes from our apartment to the Helado/ Coffee shop for morning coffee, which is cheap and good btw. It was here we learned that the Cieba tree is considered sacred with the local Mayans and one was blowing the seeds everywhere, it was quite awesome. Tiny Mexican park. Not much to see. Local kids come to play basketball, ride their bikes, etc. Sometimes a couple dances. You can get churros and ice cream and just enjoy the warm evenings. Seems very safe.

To me it's all about the local experience. This local park must be typical to Mexico small towns. It has several food stands and many surrounding shops around the plaza. As you can see the people gathering particularly in the evenings for an outing after a hard day's of work. Overall a very interesting experience to we lived at least once while you visiting Puerto Morelos. That is of course, only if you are into the local experience and you can see how the people actually live down here; none of these fancy tourist make-believe looks serious places.

This park is on the town side of the highway and definitely has a more local feel that the one on the port side. There are good carts selling marquesitas, churos, and other things. The evening we were there, there was a talent show going on. It was fun to watch the locals doing their thing.

Book store
Alma Libre Books & Gifts is a charming bookstore and gift shop located just a minute away from the beach in Puerto Morelos. Despite its small size, it boasts one of the largest collections of English language books in the Riviera Maya. The store also offers a unique selection of gifts, including treasures from other states and works by local artists. Recently relocated to a more spacious location, Alma Libre is now even more convenient for holiday shopping.
Awesome book Store.. I chose 2 books that were wrapped with a synopsis on the brown paper wrapper from one of the lovely ladies working then.. Christmas day big reveal back home in London ,exactly what I wanted 🎄🎉

What a great bookstore! I didn't buy any books, but got handicrafts and gourmet salts

beautiful, quaint bookstore with lots of great offerings! the staff member at the store was very nice and was even able to give me recommendations. would be a great place to shop for gifts.

What a fantastic find! New and used books. English, Spanish and Mayan. Local art. And a fantastic owner who helped us figure out lunch. I could have spent hours in here and discovered two new Spanish language authors I never would have found in the U.S.

Lovely slice of magic. The storekeeper was extremely kind and helpful, too. Was able to purchase a book by a Latin American author as my souvenir for my time in Mexico, and she was most helpful in guiding my selection.

Alma Libre is a treasure trove for local artisans, used books and the Mexican spirit. I bought a used book sight unseen truly “don't judge a book by its cover.”! This is truly unique! If you finish the book and bring it back they will give you some in store credit. If you bring books you don’t want you can get some in store credit. The staff are wonderful the environment is magical. Stopping here is a must!

Animal shelter
Croco Cun Zoo, located north of Puerto Morelos, is an interactive animal rescue zoo with over 400 animals. The 60- to 75-minute tour offers close encounters with various creatures like spider monkeys, rattlesnakes, and crocodiles. Visitors can touch, hold, and feed the animals and even walk among the crocodiles if they're feeling adventurous. The zoo provides educational tours in both English and Spanish and offers feeding opportunities for children.
I love this place. One of the highlights of our trip while we stayed in nearby Puerto Morelos. Glad we finally went after seeing it in years past. The guided tour, offered in Spanish or English, was great. Being able to see, touch, and feed some of the animals up close was fun. Many of the critters have some sort of local connection to the Yucatán. They all appeared to be well cared for. The zoo gives people an opportunity to learn about them in a safe setting.
Ryan L — Google review
Excellent attraction! It was a wonderful experience and we learnt so much! We got to walk through a crocodile enclosure, hold a snake, feed some animals and hold a tiny crocodile! The tour lasted about 45 mins which was perfect in the summer heat! There is a small playground at the end and a large gift shop.
Becki D — Google review
Worth every penny. First off wear long sleeves legs and arms there are a lot of mosquitoes. You can tell the animals are so well looked after. The guide was super knowledgeable and we enjoyed our private walk around very much. The children loved holding some of the animals. They learnt so much in this time.
A N — Google review
I had a lot of fun here. I was expecting to hold a small crocodile, i was not expecting to walk through their enclosure and come within a meter of a crocodile with no fence between us it was exciting. They also had sevral species of snakes and we got to hold one. When we were with the harless dogs two of them got in a fight but the guide was able to break it up immediately, demonstrating how good they are with the animals. I believe they said most of the animals are rescues, it looks like they have a good home!

Great activity for the whole family. The private tour was easy to walk and stroller friendly. Lots to see and interact with. Our tour guide Aldo was very patient with our curious 4 year old and very knowledgable.

Croco Cun Zoo is a wonderful place for those who want to experience exotic animals up close. Our guide Aldo was friendly, communicative, and very knowledgeable – he introduced us to all the wildlife in the zoo. This place left us with truly great impressions. Thank you!

Fun and interactive experience with animals. We saw deer, crocodiles, lizards, snakes, parrots, turtles, hairless dogs, and wild cats. You can get up close with a lot of these animals. I highly recommend, especially for those used to zoos in the US - you’ll get a very different experience.

Parroquia San José Obrero is a charming Catholic church located in the heart of Puerto Morelos. It is a friendly and unique place where visitors can attend Mass in English or Spanish. The church enforces strict safety measures, including the use of sanitizer and disinfectant, as well as clear markings for social distancing. There is also a small souvenir store at the entrance offering religious items such as rosaries and necklaces. Additionally, the church has a little ice cream shop attached to it.
So fun. Food was delicious. Many choices. Beautiful Ground. Friendly staff. Miguel is the best bartender. Alejandro, Moises, cheeky baby and Kendell were super fun at the pool. The nightly entertainment was excellent. I highly recommend this resort

A small but charming church in the heart of Puerto Morales. We visited in the morning, out of their schedule, and everyone inside was super kind and receptive to our presence. They have a small souvenir store at the entrance where you can find rosaries, necklaces, among other jewelry.

We did the ATV/Ziplining/Swimming package but didn't do the local market shopping due to tight schedule. Lunch buffet was ok, nothing to brag about. The pictures taken from the trip cos $50 for digital photos which was sent to us within 24 hours after we paid.

Disregard the negative reviews you read below. This place is awesome. If you're easygoing and looking for a great time with your family and friends this place will not disappoint. The staff was extremely nice and welcoming to our entire group. Safety was a top priority for their team and they made sure our gear was well-fitted and we were comfortable. They also provided lunch and it had the warm feeling of a home-cooked meal. We were picked up from our hotel along with a group of around 10 people and everyone appeared to be having a wonderful time. Baby shark (our tour guide) and the guy in charge of the horses were such a great time. Highly recommend this place!
Chris O — Google review
My boyfriend and I booked the ATV, Zipline and cenote tour (half day) through Atempa's tours in Cancun. We paid $55 each for a single ATV. If we wanted to have our own ATV's it would have been $15 extra each. We were picked up on time at our resort at 1pm in a 16 passenger van with a/c. We had about 2 other pick ups at other locations. It was a smooth 30 min ride from the hotel zone. We got to the location where were briefed on safety and filled out waivers. There was $5 optial insurance fee for the ATV's and the lockers were $10 but you got a $5 deposit back. Let me just start with this, this location isn't for everyone. THIS IS THE JUNGLE not some bougie place where they rip your arm off for the same experience. Angelo and Gilberto were amazing! They were funny, careful with the guests and really made the experience so much fun. I felt safe in there care and would go again anytime. Lunch was 3 taco which were very tasty a d a soft drink or water. (There were chips and other little drinks you could buy, no alchohol) Like the other reviews I do have to agree the ATV's were in bad shape some kept shutting off, but we didn't have any issues. Though out the entire experience we were accompanied by a photographer/ videographer. Once it was over we were offered a portable USB with all of the pictures and a few videos of the adventure for $50.
Andrea M — Google review
Had so much fun here today! The staff provided excellent service and made sure we were safe for all of the activities. The activities were so much fun. The horse back riding was a great experience and the operator made me feel very safe despite the fact that I was nervous to ride the horse. Baby Shark made sure we were taken care of and that we had all the information and instructions to do the activities safely. Tequila tasting was a great experience (especially the flavored one). The guy who served us was very knowledgeable. Definitely recommend.
Katrina P — Google review
Our tour guides Tequila and Adrian were awesome and very engaging with the whole group! We picked this excursion because our resort offered a discount that made it cheaper than other eco adventures ($50 per person and $30 per person traveling). Everyone from our family of five really enjoyed their time here and we did the ATVs, Zip Line, and cenote. We finished with a chicken fajita lunch that was tasty and filling. We opted out of pictures but they were $35 per person and looked nice. Nothing necessarily wrong with the whole experience it was very fun and ran smoothly BUT giving four stars because it seems there a lot of other bigger eco parks with longer zip lines, bigger cenotes, and just generally more space. I’m conclusion: I wouldn’t pay for this park at full price but for the discounted price we had we really, really had fun! It was our first time doing something like this. Not sure why there are bad reviews honestly maybe it was different pre-COVID?
Leandro L — Google review
I’m not sure whether I want to be upset at the unorganized chaos this place has in store or the freaking driver!! The ATV was fun but the zip line long and boring, we had too many people in the group and some were too afraid to do the course so of course that held up everything. The empanadas were good, could’ve gave us more. The driver on the other hand was the worst. He got us lost twice!! He needed to use one of the customers phone for GPS. We were inconvenienced because a group got picked up not at their original hotel but another that they were doing another excursion with, well their original hotel was 50 min south of my hotel so that is a two hour ride for me. We asked if we can be dropped off first because we’ve already been inconvenienced. I do not recommend Loma Bonita at all.
Petrice C — Google review
Staff was very kind and eccentric. Everything about this was fun. The ziplining was a decent amount of time (around 1+ hr) and the ATVs were super fun, our guide also made sure to check if everyone was alright often. The lunch that they swerved was very good and it was accompanied by a cute “chill out” spot with hammocks and picnic benches.
Dakota J — Google review
Went to Loma Bonita a few days ago our hotel set us up with this adventure. It was amazing the staff was overall friendly, funny and very welcoming. When i was scared to do stuff they helped me through it and had me and my friends laughing almost the entire time! We got to zip line on 6 different lines, then we did the ATVs for about an hour give or take I’m not to sure but for a good amount of time. Then we swam in the canote which had zip line a tightrope and a platform to jump from which was also fun! They even gave us food! Empanadas which were delicious and an option of coke or water. And throughout this entire time we had a photographer who also took amazing photos of me and my friends! This experience was great! I would highly recommend and when i come back to Mexico I’m defiantly going back! So much fun for a GREAT price ! I’m so happy we went!

Nestled in the heart of the jungle, Reptiles Toolok Kaa'n is not your typical zoo; it’s a dedicated sanctuary that prioritizes the well-being of its animal residents. Relying on generous donations and gifts, this intimate space offers an enriching experience for visitors. Guided tours last about an hour and provide fascinating insights into various reptiles like turtles, snakes, and crocodiles.
Great little rescue place for animals. Great tour guides that work as volunteers. It was really interesting to see all the animals and to get to interact with them. Would definitely recommend over lots of other tours. Cash only. Peso or USD.

Very friendly staff. The enclosures are quite rustic, and the conservation mission was unclear. 400 pesos for an interactive tour that took about 45 minutes.

We had a fantastic hour learning about various reptiles. Knowledgeable guide and amazing opportunity to hold a crocodile, snakes, tortoises, and an aligator turtle! A great place to visit with (or without) kids!

It was so much fun!! Our guide was so knowledgeable, and a great story teller! Great communication via whatsapp, we just told him the day before that we were coming at approximately what time and there was little wait when we got there. We got up close and personal with so many amazing creatures.... snakes, turtles, crocodiles and tarantulas! The experience was so intimate, and fun! Highly recommend.

This is not a zoo, but a sanctuary. The animals looks healthy and they care well for the animals. It relies on gifts and donations. We arrived here and we got guided along all animals. It's not big, but very interesting and the guide gives you a lot of information. We spend around an hour. Make sure you take some Spanish classes, since the guides are Spanish only. The fee was MX$200 for adults and MX$100 for kids. Don't forget to leave them a tip! And don't forget to bring your mosquito repellent!

The Kay Club at the resort is highly recommended for any event, whether it be a wedding ceremony or reception. The dedicated staff goes above and beyond to ensure that everything meets your preferences. The breathtaking view of the beach leaves all guests in awe. The suite is spacious and perfect for accommodating guests, even allowing children to sleep there comfortably. Another great experience at the Kay Club can be found during a honeymoon stay booked through Expedia.
I had my wedding ceremony and reception here. This staff goes above and beyond to make sure everything is to your liking. The view is amazing, all our guests were over the moon, as where we!! The suite is perfect and roomy. The kids ended up sleeping there once they got tired and the staff was okay with that. I highly recommend this place for any event.

We are on our honeymoon and we found the Kay Club through Expedia at our resort. This was a great place. We snorkled at the barrier reef and we saw so many kinds of fish and different sea life. The service was excellent, the food was excellent, the drinks were excellent. Overall, our fist snorkeling experience together was amazing and we will never forget it.

Cenote Elvira is a must-visit in Cancun, offering a private and tranquil environment with breathtaking views. The facilities are well-maintained, including clean restrooms, and the hospitality is exceptional. It's perfect for those seeking a serene experience away from crowded tourist spots. The cenote provides various amenities such as seating areas, hammocks, and barbecue spots. Visitors can enjoy the magical cenote all to themselves, allowing for complete relaxation.
Gorgeous property with so many spaces for private events and social gatherings! Perfect for retreats, weddings, blessings, and more. Honor the sacred waters and the land. It's is all within the forests just outside of Puerto Morelos. Wildlife exist in the cenote and should be respected. The cool waters are so beautiful, relaxing and mystical.

This place is awesome. I was able to reserve the cenote for my family and friends for one day and it was well worth it. They have bathrooms, refrigerator, plenty of shade and even a Bluetooth speaker available on site. The water is deep. I could not swim deep enough to even see the bottom. They have life jackets to use for safety. There are some bats in the back of the cave / cenote area and they did not bother us. Truly a beautiful place and such a unique experience. Highly recommend.

Couldn’t have asked for more from a beautiful Cenote area that delivered one of the best moments of our lives. The set up feels like being amidst a jungle that lets you roam freely in the depths of Mexico! The Cenote itself was one of the best experiences with an astonishing view of the water and the surrounding cave. I want to thank Oscar and Ari for bringing us closer to the heritage of the area and enabling us to remember an essential moment within a breath taking place!

during my trip to Cancun, and without a doubt, this cenote was the best among them. It offered a completely private and serene environment with stunning views. The cenote was peaceful, and the facilities, including the restrooms, were clean and well-maintained. The host was exceptional, providing outstanding hospitality. We enjoyed a full day in this exciting and unique space for a very reasonable and fair price. I highly recommend this cenote—don’t miss it!

What an amazing place! We were thrilled that it was available to book on short notice. Three of us spent the day there. We loved lounging in the hammocks. The cenote is super cool. Lots of bats flying around. Nice cool water. We brought food for the day and appreciated the caretaker Samuel setting up the grill for us. We had the most perfect, relaxing day here. Highly recommend booking it.

We started our visit at Cenote Sol, and for a while, we had it all to ourselves! The cenote has a zipline and a great spot to jump into the water, which made it so much fun. The water was refreshing, and the peaceful atmosphere was just perfect. Later, we explored Cenote Luna, where we saw fish and turtles swimming around. The area is surrounded by vibrant flowers and trees, and we even spotted bananas and papayas growing. There was also a cute, cuddly cat that added a sweet touch to the experience. The staff were so welcoming and made the visit even more enjoyable. The man distributing lifejackets at Cenote Luna noticed how interested we were in the fish and started feeding them while answering some of our questions. Overall, a great experience that I can't recommend enough.
Lorianne — Google review
It was a beautiful cenote. The place has tables, and lounge chairs, and showers. It was overpriced for the amenities or lack there of. You can’t take food, and the beer and fries were pricey. Entrance fee overpriced compared to other cenotes. The people ate counter are nice and speak good English. We left after one hour as the moldy life jackets were turned us off. They just need to dip them in bleach and water that will help keep them clean.
Diane T — Google review
A beautiful place to go and enjoy 2 wonderful Cenotes, the Cenote Luna is smaller and not as crowded where Cenote Sol is much bigger and has a zip line into the Cenote. The have a restaurant on site that is next to the registration office. There is a number of packages you can purchase, like ATV's and a Zip Line. There are swimming pools as well on site. Very nice place.
Steven M — Google review
We had a great time here. I will start off by saying don’t bother with the swimming pool at the beginning. It does not look very clean at all. Head straight to the Cenote! We actually got a delicious lunch at the restaurant outside the Cenote entrance very local and authentic. Top tip in my opinion! The Cenotes are an easy walk or drive once inside. One is smaller and has a very relaxed vibe. The other is much larger and has the zip line and multiple jumping points which is super fun for the older kids. There is a small cafe at this Cenote so you can get a drink etc…nothing fancy but a nice add on. We spent easily 3 hours here! This was one of the warmer Cenotes we visited which made it a lovely swim.

We had low expectations and this trip was the best day we had. Beautiful cenote's in the Mexican jungle. Ordered nachos at the snack shop which were AMAZING. Drinks also. Prices were great. We took an uber from our resort and spent the day. We will definitely come back here again. We had the place to ourselves most of the time!!!! Best kept secret in Puerto Morelos

We joined the Sun Tour and did the zip line course (7 zip lines), buggy tour (ATV or buggy for over an hour) and swam at 2 cenotes. We spent 5 hours here and absolutely love it! The zip line course was very fun and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We all (my kids are 13 and 10) had the best time during the buggy tour! It was absolutely thrilling! The zip line over the cenote was absolutely a big hit for my kids! They didn’t mention that lunch was included, so we were so surprised when the food was delivered to the cenotes. Everything was so well taken care of and my family all had a blast here!

Beautiful place, nice water with fishes and a turtle. Enjoyed my time here and one of the workers Danny gave us a very nice experience with feeding the fishes and swimming with them.

One of the first Cenotes on this road, in my opinion not worth the money (450 pesos/person) and a tourist Scam in comparison to the other ones on the road. There are much better Cenotes like 7 Bogas which is 15/20min away. Not Recommended.

HIDDEN GEM. This was our first cenote experience in Mexico and it did not disappoint. We found this cenote by chance as we were headed to the Sol y Luna cenote but saw the sign for Baalal on the way in and the lower price tag. We checked in at Sol y Luna and were not impressed with the price there and it was very touristy. Baalal was THE PERFECT authentic jungle cenote experience. The owner was extremely kind, helpful, generous, and inviting, and the resident puppy dog was precious. The owner lives on sight and is an incredible builder and artist. We were the only ones in the cenote and enjoyed a lovely swim in the beautiful water. My husband enjoyed jumping off the edge (I wish we could post videos on reviews!) The facilities are equipped with a bathroom and outdoor shower to rinse off and a couple mushroom shaped covered areas for enjoying a snack. How to get there: follow the directions for Sol Y Luna (KM 6 on the Ruta de Cenotes from Puerto Morelos) but just keep driving right on past their building - the road is a little rough but we made it just fine in our rental sedan - continue until the road ends and find the gate on the right. Follow the path past the big cat sculpture towards the mushroom gazebos and restaurant and you'll find the cenote! Enjoy your authentic non-touristy cenote adventure!

We found this small private cenote by chance. If you are looking for a quiet and idyllic place away from the large artificial cenotes with an amusement park atmosphere, this is the place for you! Nicolas is an artist, craftsman and gardener at the same time and has created a paradise with his own hands. He took a lot of time for us and showed us around his garden and the local plants. Next time we will spend the night in one of the pretty cabanas. Thank you Nicolas for this great experience!

This place is a hidden gem! Small, quiet and intimate. Nicholas has spent years hacking this gorgeous oasis out of the jungle and surrounding it with his incredible artwork.
