The queues were far too long, and after reading a few negative reviews, we decided it wasn’t worth the wait. Instead, we made our way to a nearby valley owned by Kin Loong. The place turned out to be a hidden gem. Within the valley lies a mini cave, accessible only by climbing a set of steep stairs. The short but challenging climb was definitely worth the effort, rewarding us with a unique experience. There’s also a pond within the area—though I’m not sure of its name, it is strikingly deep and adds to the natural charm of the valley. The surrounding air is refreshingly cold, creating a calm and relaxing atmosphere that makes the whole visit memorable. A great alternative if you’re looking to avoid long queues and still enjoy a nature-filled escape.

Visited Kin Loong Valley Chang Jiang with some initial scepticism, as this outlet’s reviews were noticeably lower compared to the other branches. However, since we were already at Tasik Cermin, we decided to stop by for a short break — and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The place also has many nice photo spots, which adds to the experience. We ordered the white kopi kosong, iced white coffee, and kaya toast. I must say, I really loved their coffee — well-balanced and not overwhelmingly sweet. The kaya toast was also impressively crispy and enjoyable. Overall, I would recommend visiting this outlet if you’re heading to Tasik Cermin. It’s a great spot to rest, enjoy good coffee, and take some photos

The atmosphere here was so beautiful and instagramable. You have to sit inside to experience the cave kind of feel. The place is ok nice but the food ok ok only. The wantan noodle not the authentic type. For me the portion was so little. The coffee nice, the soft boiled egg nice. I order toast with butter and kaya too, i don’t know why it taste a bit salty. The butter and kaya should balance but for me it was on salty side. Last the food wasn’t hot. The coffee not hot… Can visit for atmosphere not for the food.

Ipoh Chang Jiang Coffee is a nice spot with air conditioning, which is really good especially since outside weather is so hot. We tried the coffee and cham, both tasted really good. It’s a comfortable place to rest, relax and chit chat with friends or family, especially after visiting Tasik Cermin. Overall a recommended stop in Ipoh.

If you're looking for a peaceful escape surrounded by nature, Kin Loong Valley is the perfect spot to chill and recharge. Nestled near the stunning limestone hills of Tasik Cermin, this café offers a unique blend of scenic beauty and nostalgic charm. Nice Chang Jiang White Coffee—smooth, aromatic, and just the right amount of sweetness. I also tried the Wangher Crossover, a coffee-tea mix that was surprisingly refreshing. The kaya butter toast was a comforting classic, though I wish it had been a bit crispier.

Had steamed bread, half boiled eggs, black coffee (not my liking). Std fare. The surrounding mountain and cave is very beautiful. Across is the Mirror Lake (Tasik Cermin) which I didn't hv time to visit.

This was my first visit to Kin Loong Valley and had to have the infamous Ipoh white coffee from this cafe. This seems to be a popular spot for locals and tourists as it was pretty packed for the weekend on a very hot humid day. Highlights of this place for me: - Location: Though not within Ipoh city, it is within a reasonable distance to travel by car. Loved the fact that the establishment is nestled within nature; next to a cave and within walking distance from Tasik Cermin 2. - Parking: It is shared parking space for visitors of the nearby cave, petting zoo and Tasik Cermin. There are plenty of parking spots but they do get filled up very quickly. - Service: Staff members were able to clarify and guide through the menu items that we were unfamiliar with. - Ambience and decor: love the rustic & antique decor all around the cafe/ restaurant complementing the timber elements used for the walls, flooring & beams. Noise levels were manageable including when there was live singing just outside the establishment. - Accessibility & family friendly: There were no uneven or unlevel flooring, which makes it welcoming to those who have mobility issues or in a wheelchair. When I was there, lots of multi-generational families who were there. They establishment has baby chairs available for younger children. - Orders are placed and paid at the cashier. Cash & e-payment accepted. Not sure bout credit cards. - Drinks: The white coffee was rich, fragrant and tasty. Totally enjoyed from start till the last drop. - Food: Egg tarts were decent, toast was crispy but I was expecting more kaya and fried wantons were decent as well. It was a pretty good experience that I enjoyed. Definitely worth coming out here for this cafe or when visiting the nearby attractions.

This place used to be packed but suprisingly on CNY even it is pretty quiet.

Never ever be CON-vince to order tis Pork Knuckle dish in CUT form. You will get the most terrible meats MIXED from other cookings, added on & served to U. How can you guys do biznes like tis…. M so disappointed, words can’t describe d. Check the bill below. All other f&b items on the bill are 👍 EXCEPT tis highly anticipated signature dish of yours!!!!! and V ordered 1.7kg serving since there r 4 of us😤 regret Regret regret…… oh Yes! Burger was ok, ribeye steak too, shepherds pie isn't really a shepherds pie since there shouldn't be any red sauce in it. Dessert was horribly meh. Service was bad, didnt actually ordered rib eye, costed us twice the amount than what we ordered. Do not recommend.

Went on a Monday evening for a beer and a snack. Guinness on draft is always nice and decent wings.

This was my first visit to this famous noodle restaurant, even though I'm from Ipoh. I came here with my family for the first time and really appreciate how they maintain the natural aesthetic of the place, embracing its beauty. As for the food, it was good—I'm not going to lie. They offer a wide variety of fried fish balls and yong tau foo. Both the curry noodles and soup noodles were equally delicious. I’ve definitely found a new spot to satisfy my soup cravings.

Long queue next door so had lunch here 2:30pm on a Saturday. The Yong tow foo are just okay. Nothing special. The chee cheong fun was alright although the gravy was way too sweet for my liking. The red bean drink was good.

The yong tau foo already run by foreign workers n so is some stalls. Not many stalls are opened n hardly any patrons. YTF is nothing special, CCF fr nearby stall r also no different

Long time haven’t been to dai shu geok since MCO. Fried yeong tau foo and the vegetables yeong tau foo are still decent and tasty. There are frequent batch of fresh fried yeong tau foo. However the laksa & red bean ice are disappointment. Rojak taste is acceptable.

Name Big Tree because situated right within few big trees. Young tao fu and asamlaksa is just average. The ice red bean is however nice.

Hmm, a bug difference from what I had many years ago. The fried items were definitely more oily, less crispy. Some items like the fried turnip were harder than I remembered. But I would still recommend going for the experience and see how it feels like under the Big Tree. For those going for the first time, just pick up a basket near the cashier, line up to pick your items and tell the cashier what noodles you want and your table number.

Best meal I ever had. Truly delectable dishes every bite was simple so delicious. Even a simple sourdough bread was so good. Portions was good considering it is in a fine dining setting. My compliments to the chef. Service went above and beyond, special fallout to our trainee server Yohn even gave us a tour after dinner of the beautiful place and took photos for us!

Celebrating my 24th wedding anniversary there and comment as Food = not so sure as not very used to having fine dining else where but the food was nice and interesting. The main chef did also personally approach us towards the end to ask for our opinion about the food which shown they're really care about customers feedback. Environment = dine inside the cave with a nice and beautiful decorated and lighting every conner makes it really a rare experience. Service = I was mainly served by one Chinese young guy on internship ( can't remember his name) and he is really friendly and doing a very good job. The rest of the staffs was also great too. Verdict = the jeff cellar only served dinner set (min rm625 nett /pax and the prices is not considered cheap but with the top notch services by the team and accompanied by the very rare and beautiful dining surroundings which cant find it elsewhere, it is worth yr every penny. Btw, my wife loves and enjoyed it so much that evening. Tq so much to all the team members at JEFF'S CELLAR.

We had a splendid time at Jeff’s Cellar! When we came we were greeted by Grace who gave us excellent service explaining to us all the details of the restaurant and cave. She also offered to take many photos of us, which was great as we are now left with so many nice ones, as we normally forget to take ourselves when we go out. We were first seated next to the bar and received a welcome drink alcoholic or non-alcoholic depending on our preference. We were then shown the rest of the cave and taken to our table. We selected the seasonal menu costing 725 rm each, and also added one wine paring which cost 398 rm. We danced through the courses enjoying every one with excellent service from both Hossain and Jo, and a third server who we unfortunately forgot the name of. All three were so nice and informative and gave us the best experience! The food was of course amazing and my favourite dish was the squab (Pideon) which was excellently cooked and spiced, I loved the nice crispy texture of the skin, and my partner really loved the tuna belly in the Amuse-Bouche. I also really liked the flavour of the fish in the Duo of Sole and the amazing sauce that came with this dish. The cave setting is truly unique, and with unseeable airconditioning that kept the air nice and fresh and perfectly tempered the entire cave. (Which is something I know is very difficult to achieve in caves as the air most often becomes clammy and has a closed in feel) The music the lighting and beautiful decor really created the most perfect and classy atmosphere. Thank you so much for having us, and to the entire team for giving us such an amazing experience! We will definitely come back!

One of the best dining experience in a beautiful limestone cave. I could stare at it forever. Food was amazingly executed. The Wagyu beef was beautifully executed. Compliments to the chef. Staff was friendly and attentive.

The main draw to Jeff's Cellar is the unique experience of fine dining in a limestone cave. The set up is beautiful. We got the Prestige tasting menu which is the basic one for about RM600 per person without any wine pairing. Food was delicious. But I feel for the service could really have been fine tuned..it was a busy weekend night and the number of staffing couldnt quite keep up. Also the noise levels and music were quite loud. There were people with flip flops and baseball hats...all these things just added up and sort of ruined the fine dining experience.

Jeff’s Cellar is such a beautiful and romantic place for fine dining. The cave setting is stunning and the food was excellent. We had a small hiccup with a bottle of Chardonnay, as it was not the taste we expected. The situation took some time to resolve, but in the end the staff handled it well and even gave us complimentary champagne, which we really appreciated. Overall, the atmosphere, food, and service made it a very special evening. A must-visit in Ipoh!

BOTH SALMON DISHES ARRIVED IN BIG PORTION AND DELICIOUS. PRICE IS RM68.00, WHICH SOME MIGHT FIND TO BE SLIGHTLY HIGH. AMPLE FREE PARKING IS AVAILABLE.

Was here in Dec 2022. The place has a cool vibe. It is a fine dining place with good food and reasonably priced. I supposed most of the waiters are part timers as they seemed inexperienced. No complaints though just an observation.

The services is more than good . Today we accidentally splash a cup of water . The waiter responded so fast !!! He quickly bring the mop and clean the floor. Then he assigned us to another table . Water was filled up very fast unlike some restaurant u need to raise ur hand up. I love their pizza so much. It’s so crunchy ! I share my portion with my sons and it’s full still. The price is affordable . We can’t compare the price with outside cafe because indulgence serve not only foods but their service and ambient ;)

Food is delicious. Quite pricey but I'd say worth it for special occasions. My fried chicken was cooked perfectly and I thoroughly enjoyed the fries. The sauce wasn't anything to rave about though. The pasta was tasty as well. Besides that it has a nice ambiance and helpful staff. Would come here if I was willing to spend a bit extra and have good food with my friends and family.

This was my first time dining here and I am not disappointed. The food is delicious and service is good. The place is very spacious and SOP was very well observed. Price of food is expected of fine dining. Parking spaces are of abundance. Recommended.

Not exactly a Fine Dining Restaurant as categorized at their Google Business Profile. My girlfriend and I were overdressed for the dinner session: Imagine walking in with people wearing shorts, slippers, and the fella next to our table reacted with the micro expression of surprise when he sees us walked in. The environment was ok, decorated like any general fusion restaurants you could find in Kuala Lumpur, with that said, it was comfortable to dine in. The waiters were attentive and the food we ordered were superb. We ordered the Australian Black Angus Tenderloin, Salmon Trout, Holland Mushroom, and Wild Mushroom Soup. Every one of them tasted real good.

Came again to try after taken over by new management. Food and drinks not bad. Service also good. Have like the ambience and setting since those days under the old management. Parking is the least of a problem. Prices slightly pricey

This old-school coffee shop is buzzing with locals and tourists, creating a lively atmosphere. We enjoyed classic toast bread and iconic Ipoh white coffee, both of which were delicious. Friendly and efficient staff and did not miss any orders.. A great spot to soak up the local culture.

Good old school vibe, friendly staffs (all foreign workers) and beautiful lady boss, white coffee c is awesome here but lack of the typical white coffee foam, wantan mee is very much below average, the porky smell a bit too strong and the wantan with soup was cold and meat was not so fresh. The roti bakar here is also pretty much below average. Overall pretty lackluster experience, prefer the opposite shop Nam Heong Coffee Shop more, which has a much better selection of food prepared by local Malaysians

This coffee shop is my go to in Ipoh. It has an old school coffee shop vibe and atmosphere. Highlights and tips: - Highly recommend coming here earlier part of the morning as the temperatures are more pleasant. - Orders are placed in person. Food at the food stalls where it is possible to order food from nearby shops/ stalls if they didnt have that food item in this shop. Drinks orders are taken at the table. All food and drinks items to be paid when delivered. - I paid in cash for all my ordered items. - The white coffee did taste a little different to when I was last here (bout 2 years ago) though still strong and rich in flavour. It was probably a bit more milky in flavour than I last remembered it. - The ice lime tea was nice. The tea and lime were both very fragrant. - The Portuguese Tart was good. Not too sweet, good flake for the pastry and good texture overall. - The wanton mee and char siew (a.k.a bbq pork) is my top favourite. Love the char and sweetness of the bbq pork. Love the fact too that we could order extra meat. As much as I would have loved to have just the bbq pork, they only sell it with the noodles. - The roast pork (a.k.a siew yoke) was ok. Not stellar and not a standout. - The char kuey teow was decent. It was from across the road from another coffee shop. - The kaya toast was passable. This one I would give a miss. I have had better in a number of places. I think this place is worth giving a go with the white coffee and wanton mee as the order items.

The coffee was mediocre. My first experience with an iconic white coffee giant was disappointing and sad. The kaya toast had not enough kaya and the soft boiled eggs on taste was a flop. I guess the reason why people hype about this place was probably due to their long history of serving traditional coffee and toast. The only saving grace was the wanton Mee with was 5 stars. Otherwise, I do not recommend their coffee and toast

Old school coffee shop. I still prefer it to the rival across the street . Limited food choices but the roast pork belly is worth it and less waiting then the opposite shop. The wonton noodles actually had char siew with some caramelized fat. Lovely!! White coffee is still the best.

We wanted to go 南香茶室which is opposite this coffee shop. But the Q is too long so we came here. The coffee and tea is good, 猪肠粉，烧腊good. Don't order the bread, not good. must know that you actually can order the Prawn mihood from 南香and they will bring over here. very good must try.

Very crowded area in the morning. Need to wait for space. Roast pork and ipoh white coffee is, not so sweet. The meat floss with salted egg not very good, egg tart was very bad, pudding not bad but not fragrant

Tried the signature roasted chicken rice, salty kailan and tofu. No doubt its delicious. Service was fast and they immediately cleared the table once the patron leaves. Price wise is ok but parking may be quite a hassle as its along the main road. Will definitely come and eat here again if I visit Ipoh again.

Once upon a time, when I was working In Ipoh, this particular restaurant was a favorite for my family members. In fact, we had been coming here ever since they first started this restaurant's operation. All my children grew up on a routine ration of hainanese chicken rice, and they turned out to be life long fans, even until today... We also know the owners very well, both the malay and the chinese ones. Rizal is such a dear friend, and I had even selected him to provide the catering for my son's Wedding Reception, 6 years ago. He is a sincere and astute businessman, who had gained high prominance in Perak, regularly trusted by the state govenment to cater for many of the official state functions. My wife had wanted to bring his brothers and sister-in-laws here for lunch yesterday. We had just finished a treatment procedure for my brother-in -law at KPJ Ipoh Hospital, hence my wife had wanted to treat everybody for lunch. We arrived at the restaurant quite early at about 11:00 am, and there were not many customers yet. My wife had requested to be seated at the long table for 8 pax at the rear part of the restaurant. We were obviously very familiar with the settings and table arrangements, as they havent changed at all since our previous Ipoh days. But unfortunately, she was denied the request, as they had been fully booked by a group from KL, who would be arriving soon in two buses...Wow, good business for Rizal, I thought... Hence, we had to settle for the smaller table for 4, located at the front portion of the restaurant, which was a bit too tight for our Party of 6. Not long after that, my wife's niece Awin came to join us for lunch. Being a well connected person in Ipoh, she went to request from the staffs to join two tables, to make it more comfortable for our Party of 7 now. But her request was also denied, as the staffs simply refused to allow for the tables to be joined, without giving any valid reason at all. When the staffs finally brought out all the foods we had ordered, it became obvious to me that the table for 4 was not sufficient enough to contain all the dishes. So, I called again the staffs to allow us to join two tables, arguing that it was not practical to limit all the dishes to only one small table. But the staffs gave me the "couldn't care less" attitude, and simply ignored my requests. I had no choice, but to prompt a text immediately to Rizal the Boss, sending some photos to him to explain the situation. Apparently, the staffs had also called him, with their version of the event. Next thing I know, Rizal had replied to my text with his profuse apology, and they staffs ended up joining the two tables right away. But no apology what-so-ever from any of the staffs... Finally, we were able to enjoy our lunch comfortably. My wife had ordered a glorious lunch for us, consisting of the Roasted Chicken Rice for most of us, and also her favorite Beehoon Soup with Sour Fish, which was a speciality by the chinese chef. We also had the Fried Buttermilk Chicken, Fried Japanese Soft Tofu, and the ever so delicious Kerabu Manggo. What was missing from our normal menu were the Lemon Chicken and Fried Ipoh Taugeh, which was Najwa's favorite... While we were fully focused on our meals, two buses had stopped in front of the restaurant. And out of these buses a huge crowd was pouring out, and walking directly inside, all of them were wearing the same light blue colored t'shirt. I noticed the name of the multinational company was written on the t'shirt, so I turned to my wife and highlighted to her, "That is the company Adam is working for" True enough, soon after that my nephew Adam walked in and gave me a big hug as soon as he saw me!! I guess this restaurant has proven to be a family favorite for us all over again, as now my brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, niece and nephew are all together for lunch. It turned out to be a memorable family gathering, albeit unplanned. And at the end of the day, without my wife realizing it, Awin had picked up the tabs...

Nothing great, honestly. Food was okay but portions were small, and the staff were quite rude. They charged extra (RM1) for drumstick/thigh but when I asked, staff said “peak hour, cannot choose.” Then why even offer the option the menu? Feels like one of those places that’s just busy because tourists like us come to try once. Not somewhere I’d return.

I don’t know why people hype this place. Taste sgt biasa, nothing special especially the soup. Tcrs lg sedap than this. Price is normal like other chicken rice shop. Not recommended because of the taste but if willing to try, why not (u will disappointed like me)

The chicken almost all bones, paid for rm10+ for bones nasi ayam. Not worth it. Not repeated. Dissopointed. Better improve in future.

Actually came here since the last reviewed i saw was good. But then, as we ordered 'Hainanese' chicken rice isnt like what i expected. Requested for thigh, instead got 80% bone parts, extra RM0.50 some more for 'thigh' part. When asked for ginger, staff said no ginger only chili. Rice taste so bland, soup taste like tap water. Please if you're thinking of coming here i suggest not, pls find somewhere else. They charged us a total grand of Rm58.50, which is not worth it at all.

Their roasted chicken rice was delicious! Yummy. The ambience was loud but still can talk to each other. Not to forget they serve quite fast too, grateful for that.

Random kopitiam visited as we parked right in front of their shop. Your typical ipoh kopitiam with chicken sliced hor fun, spring roll, chee cheong fun, char kueh teow, chicken rice n not forgetting caramel custard. Food taste wise were all ok no complaints. Very generic and tastes like any shop in ipoh. Pricing now is almost on par with KL.

Less crowded. The Chicken Prawn Kuey Teow is good, and the fat and short bean sprouts is the local signature. The white coffee and rajak is average. I preferred the richer sauce like the rojak in Bukit Mertajam. The pork satay is tough.

The duck egg cha kwey teow is soooo good! Loads of wok hey in there and all the people are so nice in the coffee shop, it was really early in the morning so it was still relatively quiet and we had a really good start to the day. The duck egg does make a big difference to binding all the ingredients together, silky noodles and generous duck egg omelette plus the fat and juicy bean sprouts elevated the whole experience. Great start to a day of food hunt! Kopi was a bit more on the sweet side so remember to ask for less sugar :)

Arrived early and the place is spacious. No crowd. Siew Pow is hot and delicious Pohpiah is also very good 👍🏻 CKT is pretty decent too 👌 tried the Penang ckt and the Duck egg ckt... both are tasty

Pudding tastes quite good. It was served cool. 9/10 🌟 Gai See Hor Fun must try. The brooth is quite flavorful. 9/10 🌟 Small bowl costs RM10, Big RM11 White coffee tastes decent and not too sweet. 7/10 🌟 Price RM2.6 Polo bun doesn't have much crunch of the outer layer but still tastes good. 7/10 🌟 Costs RM3.8

Wide variety of meal dishes & street foods. There’s a stall selling freshly baked tarts and pastries which are quite good (forgot to take photos of what we ate). Glad we stopped here, unplanned.

Restoran Ipoh Kong Heng is a hidden gem! This old-school coffee shop offers a variety of mouth-watering Ipoh delicacies, with food stalls serving both Kong Heng and neighbouring Thean Chun. Must-try favourites: Ipoh chicken hor fun and egg pudding - simply delicious.

Another nice spot to chill and enjoy a refreshing cup of iced tea. The place has a pleasant environment with cosy ambience, perfect for relaxing. The staff were friendly and welcoming, which made the visit even better. I came during the weekend and was lucky enough to get a parking spot since space is quite limited. I tried the iced milk tea, which had a rich, strong tea flavour that I really enjoyed, and the egg tart was delightful—soft and creamy inside with just the right texture. Overall, it was a satisfying experience and definitely worth a visit.

Another one of Ipoh famous breakfast location, one can consider to have breakfast here rather than at the hotel. The food choices are your typical Ipoh breakfast and it is cooked excellently and at speed. One need not need to wait for his/her orders. The restaurant opens sharp 8am and you have to queue to order at counter. Parking is aplenty and free. Plenty of seats too!. There is also a small section where you can purchase coffee and tea!

I stumbled upon a hidden gem today, perfect for a chill afternoon! ☕ This place is an old house turned into a super cozy restaurant. I was initially there for coffee, but the tea selection was a total game-changer. Surprisingly, the tea was incredibly delightful and refreshing! Definitely worth a visit next time you're around! 🏡

After a unexpected little climb at Perak Cave.. it's fortunate we found this place for a good white coffee. I choose their specialty Wangcher white coffee with kaw kaw teh. They have a good selection of toast, noodles and rice dishes. Egg tart is soft. Wifey like the sweet potato ball. Unfortunately, the ending wasn't great. We pack 3 of their specialty coffee. We discovered before leaving it's not what we wanted. They refuse to change. "key in system cannot change". I told them I have not even left the restaurant. After much blah², they finally agreed to change the pack. Staff seem divided. The young local staff that hardly talk doing the serving and the Chinese staff that kind of run the place.

Came here for brunch. The waiter recommended the hometown soup which was served with noodles. Loved the noodles and the soup. Had their white coffee and it has stronger roast taste of the coffee beans, which I like. Service wasn’t friendly. Saw several miscommunication between waiters not to me but to other customers. It was quite crowded during my visit hence the confusion occurred. It’s hard to get parking space too.

The food is good, and the environment is nice. It's pretty standard. The toast is really good. So is the egg tart. The wonton noodles are different from the ones in Penang. Maybe it's just trying something new.

The place is wonderful and the food is delicious. We were greeted with a smile, but the service was poor. We had to ask for everything individually. There should be one more staff member; having to ask for a fork, knife, spoon, or even a napkin was very unpleasant.

A very old gem in ipoh. We stopped by ipoh for dinner and stumbled upon this shop. Very nice nostalgia vibe for a zhao lou in IPOH. The portion of the food is bigger than we expected. We order the famous hoong tho noodle and crabstick yee mee for our mains. And 2 small side dishes of homemade fishball and dumpling preserved egg. The dumpling preserved egg did a very good mixture. Truly impressed by that. Love the texture of the highlight noodle as well

Went to Hoong Tho in Ipoh expecting a good meal, but the service completely RUINED the experience. The staff were RUDE and it felt like we were a bother to them just by being there. When we asked simple questions about the menu, they responded inpatiently and with an attitude. Food might be okay, but honestly, it’s hard to enjoy it when you’re treated so poorly. Won’t be coming back, and definitely WOULDN'T recommend it to anyone who values good customer service.

The food was pretty good, but the service was disappointing. There were two servers taking orders — one was a larger guy and the other of regular build. Unfortunately, the regular-sized server attended to our table. The menu was poorly printed and difficult to read, so I politely asked for another copy. His response was rude: “Well, all the menus are the same. What do you expect? Do you want one with a light on it?” Then he walked away. Later, I ordered through the larger server instead, who was much nicer and more professional. While the food itself was enjoyable, the unpleasant service experience means I won’t be returning to this restaurant.

Loved the old-school vibes at Hoong Tho! The place has that nostalgic charm with its vintage decor and classic Chinese kopitiam feel. Super cosy and full of character. The food was tasty—especially the fried glass noodle, ginger beef hor fun , horney fried pork belly and the bean sprouts with crispy pork bits. Simple but really satisfying. Service was fast even though it was quite busy. A great spot if you're into heritage-style places and local Chinese dishes. Would definitely come back to try more!

This is a review only about the cempedak cake. The cempedak cake I used to have was moist, fragrant and with quite good chunks of cempedak. Sadly, this round, it is very different. The cake was dry as I believe they have changed to use superfine flour and this resulted in big cempedak chunks being at the bottom of the cake instead of being nicely spread around. I tout it as the best cempedak cake in Ipoh beating Embassy, so this was really disappointing. If this is the quality going forward, then I won't recommend it to friends nor would I buy it.

Came here for couple of drinks. Ordered a tower, 2 cocktails and a mocktail. The mocktail was nice. The tower was decent. Disappointed with the cocktails. Tasted watered down and not so much flavor. Even though we ordered passionfruit mojito and piña colada. Environment wise. Outside sitting was better as the live band was too loud. Ear piercing music. Someone should look into the balance of sound. They were almost screaming into the mic. Hence we had to just sit outside after attempted to sit inside for 1 minute. Songs selection was great. Just cannot stand the volume. Too much treble i think. Service …… mmmm…. The waiter had to repeat so many times to reconfirm the order and can yet miss out some. Go in and come back reconfirm. Maybe can take note on paper instead.

Bricks and Barrels offers a great ambience where you can truly relax and unwind. The live band does an excellent job of entertaining guests, effortlessly playing requested songs and keeping the mood lively. However, the DJ's music was a bit too loud at times, possibly due to less skill in sound control and the venue's acoustics. Despite that, it remains a fantastic spot for weekenders looking to escape the hustle of the city and work stress. Overall, a great place to chill with good vibes!

Bricks and Barrels Perak is… an experience, though not in the way you’d hope. Imagine paying several times the price of a regular bar, only to be serenaded all night by the exact same Malay-style DJ playlist, on loop, as if variety were an optional extra. The crowd is predominantly Malay, which would be perfectly fine—if the atmosphere matched the price tag. Sadly, the “service” operates on the taxi model: once you’ve paid, the ride is over, and so is their interest in you. If your idea of nightlife in Perak involves overpaying for under-delivering, this might just be your dream spot. For everyone else, there are far better doors to walk through.

Food is very nice. It goes very well with the drinks but I found it a bit too salty for my liking. Feels like they deliberately make it salty so we drink more. Price of the food is reasonable. Been to many places and their tower is filled 80%. Not sure am I spoiled by other establishments or the tower here is generally filled only 60% after the bubbles was gone. Perhaps they delivered it too late to us that why it look less? The photo of the tower was right after it was delivered to us before we drank any cup from it. Was truly dissapointed by this. Service is like ok. It is quite good compare to few pubs I been to in Ipoh but not the best. Been here before MCO and was impressed by the quality of food and drinks. But now it feels different. And most importantly the seating arrangements are terrible. The establishment isn't filled when we arrive. We are here to enjoy the live band but the seating need to be improved. The seating doesn't care about the audience. Few of us were seated back facing liveband and those facing the live band is partially blocked by the pillar. The sound system need to be improve as well. The singer voice is good but the sound system spoils it. Please improve on this.

The atmosphere is quite good near the stage area. Only the counter and the back and also upstairs are quite messy as this cafe isn't catching many patrons as expected. The entertainment area is also quite ok with a pool table(a bit worn) and electronic dart game. Food is all above average except ramen. The beers are a bit expensive for RM88 per bucket of small bottles of Carlsberg and the waitress only served the 1st pour. Live band a bit disappointed with the singer having pitching and also instrumental problem. Overall is still quite a good cafe but just need to brush up and do more improvements to gain back frequent patrons.

A good place to hang out with friends or even with your family members. Not so quiet and not too noisy. Live music/song available after 8.30am, but I am not sure if available daily. The food was good and delicious, but on the higher side.

A cool pub to chill out, have a cold beer, and eat some hearty pub food. I had a Euro pork burger for RM28. Bottled beers are RM22 to RM23 each. We loved the spicy popcorn chicken for RM15. Large serving, and it's popcorn chicken but (a bit) spicy. Not the usual popcorn chicken. At the entrance, a lady was making satay over a charcoal grill. Some patrons ordered the satay. It was a hilarious sight. If you want peace and quiet (like us), go before the live band starts at 8.30pm. Top marks for the elaborate Christmas decor! Well done!

Do not get their nachos. Almost rm20 for a joke. No elaborations in menu and almost no pork. You can have way better nachos at Uncle Don's at a cheaper price. Will only come here for Erdinger beer until I find another place. Atmosphere is mediocre. Service is good. Only one toilet for each gender so be prepared to que.

Sam Ma Chicken Rice is definitely one of the better spots in Ipoh for a satisfying plate of chicken rice. The chicken was tender and juicy, with just the right balance of flavor. The rice was fragrant and not too oily, and the chili sauce packed a nice punch. The portion size is good for the price, and service was quick and friendly even during the lunch rush. The only small downside is that the place can get quite crowded, and parking around the area can be tricky.

This is more delicious than the other famous chicken rice at the Main Street. Portion is good, reasonable price, fast service. It might be a little time to get into your table but it would be worthwhile. Our group was very hungry and we feast well and it was satisfying. Too bad we came a little late, so we didn’t get to order the hor fun. (1pm) But funny enough the truck was restocking as we were paying up our bills. Oh yeah, our groups is torn between defining if normal steam chicken is better or the kampung chicken. I tend to like the smoother, soft chicken than the kampung that had a firm texture.

A little detour from the all the famous Ipoh town chicken rice shops. Personally I feel this is one of the nicest place for Ipoh tauge chicken Rice though may not be the best yet. It's a nice and clean restaurant. Ordering and serving is pretty quick. We ordered the ¼ chicken, tauge, mix of pork and fish ball, rice and kuew teow soup with hot Chinese tea and kumquat drink. All came to RM 43.25. The accompaniments of chilli and ginger was a great match. While everything was good, the downfall to us was the bowl of soup which had an awful and very strong chicky smell and taste to it that didn't suite our pallet. The same goes for the kuew teow soup. The fish ball tasted okay and passed the bouncy and chewiness however the meatball was just average. This place can get crowded and therefore, no lingering around once you're done with meal..the waiter immediately comes to clear the table for next customer.

We ordered the quarter chicken breast menu, with one rice and one stir fried vegetable. Chicken meat is on the tough side and required more dipping of ginger and chili sauce to make it more moist and appetizing. Vege is cooked tastily, the rice is those bigger granular type, almost taste like brown rice. Queue is a certainty here, but they have a good system to maintain the customer flow kudos to that.

We placed order during the queue , less than 10mins get seats. Immediately served foods, that's like everything in one go. The chicken was too good to describe, can't stop eating. All dishes are yummy and settled in stomach less than 1/2 hrs. I will be back...

Be prepared to wait in line—it can take quite a while, so it’s best to come early. The chicken rice is definitely worth it; the chicken is incredibly tender and never dry. The braised chicken feet are also highly recommended—soft, flavorful, and well seasoned. The bean sprouts are great too!

A great place to hang out and chill with a group of friends or with your family. They have a lot of pastries to choose from (mainly croissants). I had the Pain Au Chocolate and I personally like it as it was amazing and delicious. The owner and his team are very friendly yet nice people. Owner shared his passion and story about his helmet collection with some motorbike riding experience. His team did a great job as they served their customers with passion. Overall, do come over whether you’re a motorbike rider or not. You can admire the motorbike helmet as there are tons of it to check out. Kudos to the owner and his team

I have visited this place two or three times, and the workers are always very friendly. I assume the lady at the counter is the owner's daughter. She is humble and provides excellent customer service. Our group was large, and instead of requiring us to bring our food, she graciously allowed us to sit and served our orders. Just a few minutes later, a fly fell into one of my friends' hot tea. When we requested a replacement, they promptly provided one. It's such a cozy place to hang out, even during the daytime. One of their best dish is their mushrooms soup.

I had a wonderful time at thie cafe. Its absolutely a gem! The food is outstanding, great pastries particularly their freshly baked croissants. But it's the hospitality that truly sets it apart. The owner and his family offer incredibly warm and attentive service, making every visitor feel welcome. The delicious food combined with their genuine kindness and the cool helmet theme makes this cafe a fantastic stop!

The food was delicious and everything was generally good. However, customers need to take their own food and carry it upstairs, which might be a bit inconvenient for mothers with young children and elderly visitors since it involves using the stairs. Other than that, the place is clean, comfortable, and the food is definitely worth trying 👍🏻

Their nasi lemak and the chicken popcorn was really good but the paper box container was too small, we couldn't eat our food comfortably. However I loved the whole concept of the shop and service was really good (although the food came out alittle late). Overall really good experience, will comeback again.

Camping vibes cafe with tasty nasi lemak and super friendly service. The only downside was a small paper box as serving plate, a bit hard to eat the meals. The price was affordable.

Very cute coffee shop. I like the camping theme, all the plants, and the gravel on the floor (although that would probably be a problem for someone wearing high heels). The matcha drink i ordered had real matcha and real strawberries in it, so the price of 16 RM seems justified. The waitress was super kind! I can recommend this place! Only reason I cannot give 5 stars is the way animals are treated here :/ I know it's Asia and animal welfare is not really a thing here, but come on. Fish in a miniscule aquarium, geckos in a super small enclosure with only 1 hiding spot and no plants, and two bearded dragons (one of them massive), also in a tiny enclosure without plants. I asked and was told that this set up is only temporary, but on here I saw pictures of a few weeks back where the animals were in the same kind of enclosure. It makes me sad, especially because like this, no esthetic value is added to the Cafe either so there is not even a point in exhibiting them there. Please buy them big terrariums/aquariums and give them some plants, structures, water sources and hiding spots!

The café has a very comfortable environment with great ventilation, not hot at all. Drinks are really good. Bellagio Chocolate 9/10 and Caramel Macchiato 9/10. Service is very friendly and cheerful, which makes the visit enjoyable. Prices are reasonable and match the quality of the drinks. Overall, a very good place to relax and enjoy coffee. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The service is incredible! The environment here is also very interesting. When I entered, the first thing that caught my attention was the tent and plants, and then I noticed Leopard the Lizard. I found out about this place through a friend who did their podcast here too! This place is amazing for a fun experience with friends. I ordered Matcha and the 2-3 pax. The place is very immersive, it allowed us to enjoy an outdoors environment without the hassle of worrying for the weather. All in all, I absolutely recommend this cafe for cafe hunters, or for those looking to have a unique time!

Service was INSANELY fast 🤯🤯 literally only took them 5 minutes from the moment we ordered to start serving food! The food was ok. Huge offerings on the menu, prices were fair and decent, portions were ordinary but filling enough. It was very crowded when we went so we sat indoors and it was also super loud so that wasn’t great. Otherwise, space was clean, strong air conditioning, decent ventilation. Not too sure if I’ll be back again but it was a decent meal!

Posted 14th Sept 2025 Came here on a weekend Sunday, almost lunch hour with a short queue. Given a queue number and waited only for approximately 10 minutes. Dishes came out relatively fast even though the place was packed. The authentic shredded chicken noodle was very flavourful and full of aroma but a tad in the sweet side, but it was quite generous with the toppings. Special mention goes to the kuih, which is really good and not too sweet. The butter kaya toast was done just right with the right amount of butter and kaya. Ordering is simple and easy as you just write down the code indicated on the menu. Service was quick and attentive. The place is clean, though a bit noisy as the place is packed. Ample street parking available. Overall, it was a good experience.

The desserts here are wonderfully refreshing and cooling—perfect for a warm day! We had high hopes for the coffee, but the hot brew turned out a bit too sweet for our taste. On the bright side, the rojak & roti bakar were delicious and well-prepared. The kuih here are so popular they sold out by the time we arrived!

Heard a lot of good about this food stall. We were greeted warmly by a young man on the way in with much needed cool AC on such heaty days. The traditional nasi lemak paired with its spicy chilli's sambal taste good that you don't even need any protein to go with it. Go with Curry noodles if you are one that prefers heavy curry powder taste and spicy savoury broth. Chee cheong fun was however a tag disappointing. The sauce was premix and pour on tasted acceptable. Iced kopi and lemon tea were delightfully on point, not too sweet, sour, and yet still retains its bean's fragrance with its foamy froth. Even their nonya kuey are good. Highly recommended.

My lunch was a study in contrasts. While the meal had its high points, the main dishes unfortunately couldn't quite measure up to the standard set by A-Jie across the street. I'd rate the food about 20% lower in terms of overall deliciousness. The Nyonya and regular Assam Laksa were merely acceptable, lacking a certain depth of flavor. The traditional Nasi Lemak was missing that essential, fragrant coconut milk aroma, and its accompanying sambal chicken was a touch too soft for my liking. The coffee offered a bold, robust taste, though its aroma was surprisingly faint. The true savior of the meal was the Nyonya Kueh. It was exceptional—on par with A-Jie's best. The balance was perfect; it was not overly sweet, allowing the flavors of the ubi kayu and mochi to shine through. It was incredibly fresh. Similarly, the caramel custard was refined and elegantly suited my palate, providing a delightful end to the experience."

This place is absolutely amazing! Whenever I visit Ipoh, I always make sure to come here for breakfast or lunch. The food is super delicious tasty, yummy, and full of flavour! The staff are also really friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended don’t miss this place when you’re in Ipoh!

Food was tasty, the pork leg was soft and tender, easy to tear away from bone. The mochi skin was soft and thin, and the ginko barley was amazing. Felt that the egg tart filling could be more and cookie crust biscuit can be thinner. Amazing atmosphere and interior deco, even have level 2.

Old-school environment that’s perfect for those who appreciate traditional vibes. The cendol itself is refreshing and satisfying — a great treat on a hot day. However, one downside is the lack of sharing options. There are no sharing bowls or even cups available, which can be inconvenient if you're visiting with friends or family and want to split portions.

Handsome abang very nice. Super accommodating to let us buy the nearby nasi padang and bring over to his shop to makan! The cendol is superb! Shop has many nostalgic memorabilia. Highly recommended place to rest your feet and refresh your senses.

Cafe deco is really old school feeling. Bring back many memories as you walk in the shop. I tried the durian cendol and tasted good. However, the price is on the high side for the amount of ingredients put in.

Talk about a shop with classic things collected within. Then this shop would be the first coming to my mind in Ipoh. They had many old items which were famous in Malaysian culture which would bring bacm memories Tried the cendol durian which was really worth it. The durian piece was big,juicy and flavouraful. It was right on point when we had it during the hot weather. This place is situated next to nasi ganja ayam merah. You can get free papadam if you eat your nasi ganja here and order a cool bowl of cendol as well.

This cafe serves the best cendol durian in Malaysia. The coconut santan is authentic, rich and creamy; and they top up with 2 large durian pulps which are flavourful, thick and premium quality.

..we'd came here on 01/06/2025 with 13 pax that consist with 8 adults ( two of 'em aged 21 & 20)...3 teenagers ( aged 15...16..16 and 19) and kid aged 10 years old...ordered 9 bowls of iced shaved coconut milk (cendol)...5 bowls pf normal iced shaved cendol and 4 bowls of iced shaved coconut milk durian.cendol will be 110 bucks!..quit expensive for normal cendol to cost 'bout more than 5 bucks for a bowl...for iced shaved coconut milk durian i do understand it's a bit expensive...anothet things this spot will be filled with lotsa ol' memoribilia and it make this spot crammed...

The floor is super slippery, need to be extra careful walking on it, especially for old people. The bowl and stencils are dirty...like they don't wash them from the last customer... Many workers, but not much of them actually do the job. Food tastes fine, fair price.

My top 1 Yong Tao Fu stall in Ipoh. Everything is awesome and I would love to ta pao ( order for take away ) before I back home. Recommend for those who like Ying Tao fu or looking for childhood food 👍🏻 👍🏻 👍🏻 👍🏻 👍🏻

This is one of the best yong tau foo I have ever tried. I ordered the laksa and you wouldn’t believe that the thick bee hoon is so soft and smooth that it feels like melting in your mouth. The yong tau foo ingredients tastes fantastic. My first time here. It’s a worthwhile trip from driving all the way from Johor to Cameron Highlands and from there to this gem. The drinks are quite generous served in big cups.

Their food is still the best (stuffed food, "Yong Tau Foo"). Their dried curry noodle is nice. For those who take away their food...my suggestion is to use air fryer (if you have) on their fried food for 5~10 mins... It would be come super crispy. Would recommend to come on morning as it have much lesser crowd than 11:30am and onwards...especially during public holidays. Their drinks (next stall operator for same place)...have dropped their qualify. They used to have ice blended on red bean, green beans, sweet corn...and now they just put in ice cube...taste have dropped 80%

The Yong Tau Fu is cheap and delicious, just that the ventilation really needs improvement. In addition the floor need proper cleaning and some parts are dangerously slippery.

Delicious breakfast provided by hotel for guests. Food was good but it was very crowded and I gave up getting coffee because the queue was too long.

Visited for breakfast during our stay at the apartment. The views overlooking the lake and limestone hills with the virgin forest is quite a scene. Very cooling, hardly humid. Didn't encounter any mosquitoes or insects. Food was ok. It's the ambience and views here which is a standout. The guest service officer, Miguel, is a very friendly and hospitable chap.

Food was decent as a hotel - portion size was sufficient, taste not bad. Service staff was friendly but the food was served extremely slow. We were here around 1pm, they start serving the food one item after another and the last item was served after 1 hour.

We had clearly explained to the restaurant staff that we were sweaty from exercising, recovering from the flu, and accompanied by our 94-year-old father whom we did not want to walk up the stairs. We requested to be seated in the open-air main restaurant which is already set up also to serve breakfast, yet we were initially directed to join the others in an enclosed tent at the back of the restaurant — although they eventually accommodated us. As we are not part of the large group tours they have due to long weekend, we felt disappointed to be treated the same. And interestingly ..after about 30mins they eventually open up the open-air main restaurant as the tent is already filled!

I recently dined at Haven Cuisine in Ipoh, lured by their bold claim of being the number one restaurant in the city. Unfortunately, my experience was anything but number one. The service was atrocious—slow, inattentive, and unprofessional. Despite the high price tags on the menu, the food was mediocre at best, lacking both flavor and presentation. Given their exorbitant prices, I expected a culinary delight, but was met with disappointment. Haven Cuisine should be ashamed of calling themselves the number one restaurant in Ipoh. Their claim is absolutely ridiculous and far from the truth Notes: the are flies everywhere!

This is coming from being a repeat customer. This is our 4th time here. It seems the quality has significantly dropped. Perhaps it's because the place is full. We had to wait 10 mins for cutlery being replenished. The signature welcome drink is no longer available and we were offered cordial instead. Breakfast was a nightmare. Dinner was rather shabby. They used to have a nice set dinner served complete with soup, main course, dessert and drink. This time there was no soup. Not recommended to order spaghetti and meatballs - the meatballs were processed balls, not freshly made. The burger is ok and pasta marinara is ok too. We understand the costs is going up but it's hard to not compare to the past when you've been a loyal customer. Not recommended to take full board (eat your dinner somewhere else!). After all, we're in Ipoh.... there's no need to eat hotel food if it's shabby. The staff are all trying their best but it's tough when there's lack of training and resources. Anyway this will probably be our last time there. Time to check out other properties in Perak.

We had breakfast here as part of our hotel stay. There was ample buffet food, however, the taste can be improved. The nasi lemak and pasta tasted flat and flavourless. The service was excellent though and the staff helped me get some food.

Have been here many times. Every time I’m in Ipoh. It’s a spacious, clean and efficient place. I would recommend this place for dim sum for tourists. The quality of the food is above average and service is efficient. Range is pretty good for food but very limited for drinks.

Nice place to hangout and enjoy some dim sum. The dimsum is good and they have many choice of them. Its not cheap but you can tell with the building. Its big.

As a kid I remembered coming here and was always happy to visit. Nowadays the food was okay. Not bad but nothing outstanding. If you want a quick dim sum it’s okay but don’t expect to be overwhelmed.

Huge, clean and well ventilated place. You order from a menu instead of having someone pushing the cart like old school method. The price of the dim sum is the same as how the building looks- extravagant! Siew Mai is RM7.60 (above average) but the siew mai has very small bites of scallops, mushrooms, and prawns.. Fishball (RM6.90) is huge and soft. I guess the locals are right about this place- it caters mainly to tourist. Chille sauce has sour (lime?) taste with some garlic aftertaste.. One option for sauce only.

Hey there! I think this is the famous Ipoh tourist dim sum shop. It’s always packed with people, especially on weekends and public holidays. But I managed to come in on a weekday, so I didn’t have to wait for ages. The food was really good, overall. And the environment and design are so traditional, it’s like stepping back in time.

Visited Foh San for dim sum, and overall, the experience was quite normal. The food was just so-so—nothing particularly memorable in terms of taste or variety. However, one highlight was the service. The elderly lady server was very nice and friendly, which made the visit more pleasant. The restaurant itself is spacious, but the food didn’t quite live up to its reputation. Worth a try if you're nearby, but don’t expect anything exceptional.

Come early to get queue number, long waiting is expected at this Ipoh famous dim sum spot, certainly lives up to its reputation. Be prepared for a bustling atmosphere and potential queues, but it's part of the experience. Their dim sum selection is vast and generally delicious, with classics like har gow and siew mai always fresh and tasty. It's a classic, no-frills setting focused purely on the food. For an authentic and satisfying dim sum breakfast, it's a consistently good choice.

Crowded. Need take a number during public holiday and weekend. There is a que so prepare to share table if want to get seat faster. Infront is Foh Shan dim sum restaurant which equivalent crowded and need take number. Typical serving style that bring tray of dimsum to your table to choose. Nothing special but authentic taste. The dimsum we order range from Rm4.90 to Rm5.90 per plate. Acceptablr pricing for this quality. Recommended.

This dim sum place is one of Ipoh’s oldest and most recommended. Every traveller, including me, had to see what the hype was about. Sadly, my excitement deflated faster than a steamed bun left in the open. The “traditional taste” just doesn’t excite my taste buds, it felt like someone installed an insulator between my taste buds and the dim sum here. Prices are a bit cheaper than other restaurants around, but the portions have transformed into “fun-sized.” It’s shrinkflation, but they make it polite. The black sesame dessert and the lor mai gai were the only ones I could recommend. The sesame was smooth and fragrant, just as you’d imagine, and not too sweet. The lor mai gai, though, was next-level, flavorful, tender, and honestly the hero the Ipoh dim sum world didn’t know it needed. I will only come back if I’m craving that lor mai gai or the black sesame dessert again. The place is always packed (no idea why, maybe nostalgia tastes better to locals). Don’t leave your patience at the hotel, you’ll need it especially if you’re visiting in a large group. Service was average but food is served fast. You just need to flag down the servers roaming around with trays of dim sum. You point, pick and eat.

The char Siew pau, the dough is abit dry. The fish ball was good, soft n springy. Chicken feet, soft and the flesh comes out easily from the bone. However, had to remind them several time of the chicken feet order. Overall the food was good and don't have to wait for long to get a place.

Authentic local dim sum (coffee shop style) and bustling vibe. We enjoyed most of the dim sum but perhaps only the egg tarts a bit disappointing. Overall its worth a visit 😀

The food at Ming Court Dimsum was okay, but unfortunately, the overall experience left much to be desired. From the moment we sat down, we were immediately approached by 5–6 staff members all asking for our orders at the same time. It felt very overwhelming and a little chaotic, and it definitely took away from the enjoyment of our meal. Another issue was the policy of requiring each person to order a cup of drink. There was no sign or mention of this anywhere in the shop or on the menu, and we had already ordered a bottle of herbal tea. Being told we had to order extra drinks without prior notice felt misleading and somewhat unfair. Clear signage or a note on the menu would have made this understandable, but as it was, it felt like we were being pushed to spend more unnecessarily. In addition, the restaurant was not busy when we visited — there were very few customers and no queue — so the rush and pressure from staff seemed unnecessary. While the dim sum itself was decent, the experience was marred by the aggressive service and unclear policies. I hope the management can improve communication and train staff to approach customers more calmly, as the food deserves better than to be overshadowed by these issues.

Walked in just after half past six on a weekday morning and there were already half a dozen tables within that were occupied by locals tucking in and sipping their literal choice of brewed Chinese tea. And, that, in a nutshell is the morning breakkie scene here in Ipoh. There was a large table across us who came earlier comprising mainly elderly business proprietors who looked like high school classmates that have known each other for life. An old couple walked in shortly after we started with their son who most likely worked outside of Ipoh after uni were animatedly chatting between themselves oblivious to the son's preoccupied time on his cellphone. And all this while, you feel like life has slowed down by half the rush that typically preoccupies your mind should you be in the Klang Valley. This is probably the charm of the ex-tin mining city capital of the silver state. So come on by early, sit back a bit and enjoy the slow life over some freshly brewed tea and maybe some dimsum.

Food 3.8/5 Pizzas and the meatball spaghetti were decent. Many flavours to choose from. Service 5/5 The young Indian waiter was very friendly, smiley and helped us understand the various items on the menu and gave his recommendations. Have never met anyone in the F&B who is so enthusiastic, loving his work and made us feel so welcomed. Truly a treasure to the establishment. The other staff were friendly and helpful as well. Ambience 3/5 Place is nicely set up to mirror an American eatery. Generally clean and comfortable place. However the noise and music levels were on the high side making conversation difficult. Location 4/5 Parking available near the restaurant. The signage needs to be replaced for better visibility. Value for money 3.8/5 Pricing is on the high side but given the generous portion, it seems reasonable.

Went alone having a half-n-half pizza (couldnt finished it even if I wanted to). This place is still IMO one of the best pizza places I’ve had so far in Malaysia. The only downside is the limited seats they have there. Opens at 5:30PM and by 6 it is full house. That speaks volumes for itself.

Visited for the first time to enjoy the Rock & Roll wood-fired pizza. The pizza was tasty, the service was friendly, and the environment was really pleasant!

Third time visiting in my past 4 Ipoh trip. Criminally underrated Ipoh spot. Awesome food, good service and bustling atmosphere. Honestly, this is a MUST try spot for me. Can’t believe a pizza spot is my favourite Ipoh restaurant. P.S. the Peruvian pasta is my favourite. It’s like a unique creamy pesto.

2nd time here and the service, quality, environment is awesome! I came all the way from Singapore and there is no regrets! Worth to come, must come! Best pizza in Ipoh, nothing else and no where else! Pizza is very big and freshly made on the spot upon ordering. Special and unique and different flavours and you can mix half half so that you enjoy best of both worlds! Thank you owner and the group of lovely boys and girls! Will cole again!

First time visit to this place. Ordered 1/2 Bacon & Egg pizza 1/2 White truffle oil pizza and also a piece of tiramisu. The foods were nice and i liked the environment too.

The experience i had in this restaurant is one of my worst. So strict. Restaurant insist we must order 3 whole pizza even though our 8th person was a little 4 year old girl. The name Michelangelo’s Pizzeria seems a bit misleading although i note that the signage does say American Pizzeria. So just for the benefit of readers this is not an Italian Pizza place. It is a typical American type of food where the pizza is too salty and desserts are too sweet and the food definitely will make u very thirsty. Hence they make sure u understand clearly that they will charge you RM3 surcharge just to bring in water bottle. This feels worst when you see the prices on the menu. It is really American price. The food is overrated IMO. My kids even said that they prefer Dominos. It is so typical American that the owner even looks and sounds like Donald Trump. i.e. not the most polite guy in the world. However credit to him, he did offer a brownie for a mistake he owned up to. Nonetheless the restaurant atmosphere is not conducive for families. We were cramp on 2 tables and were not even allowed to sit on one side of the table. The bench i was forced to sit on was also broken and it pinch my butt. The toilets ventilation fan was not even working and the music was too loud to have a conversation over the table. So ironic to hear the song PizzaHut being played in the restaurant.

The moment you walk in, you’ll notice how aesthetic the place is — modern and stylish interiors blending so well with the classic charm of its surroundings 😍. Definitely a spot where you’d want to sit, chill and snap a few photos 📸. Food-wise, I was pleasantly surprised! Everything tasted really good — flavourful, filling, and satisfying 🤤🍴. Even when I was already full, I still kept eating because it was that delicious haha. Their drinks were refreshing too 🍹, just right for a hot day in Ipoh. One little note to the management 🙌: it would be nice if the menu given to customers matched the right time slots. I got the lunch menu even though it was still breakfast, so maybe it’s better to use the app/digital menu instead since breakfast and lunch options are different. Not a huge issue though — just remember that if you want the full menu, come after 11AM onwards 😉. The overall experience here was super comfortable 🌿. Plan B is the kind of place you’d go to if you want to eat in a relaxed and cozy environment — whether with friends, family, or even solo. Service deserves a big thumbs up 👍💛. The staff are friendly, attentive, and quick to clear your table once you’re done eating (except your drinks), so you can still sit around and enjoy your time comfortably. Loved the aesthetic ambiance and the service was great. I had the rice with chicken, but it didn’t really suit my taste – it was quite bland 🥲. The rest of the dishes were just okay, but the drinks were the highlight! I loved the Watermelon Lychee so much I ordered it twice. As for the price, it’s on the higher side compared to similar restaurants.

We got the chicken carbornara and Turkish Delight. The pasta was good but i feel the mushroom in the pasta was the highlight of the dish!!! Could have given more mushroom. 😂Turkish Delight was nice but not wow, abit too oily. Coffee was very good! Nice atmosphere.

Came here for dinner on a Sunday night. There was no queue at all, only two tables were occupied, so the place was pretty quiet. We honestly had no idea what to order, so we ended up choosing the corned beef spaghetti, fish and chips, and a red velvet cake for dessert. For drinks, we just had mineral water. I asked the staff if they could play the birthday song when delivering the cake, but they couldn’t do it because the audio system is centralised and controlled by another department. So, no birthday song. However, they did bring the cake with a birthday topper, which we only found out we had to pay for after they took everything back to the kitchen, lol. Should have told us at least we can keep it. The corned beef spaghetti tasted pretty good but it was quite salty. The fish and chips were good, crispy, big portion, and the chips were well seasoned and crispy too. The tartar sauce was average and the coleslaw wasn’t very well seasoned, but I loved the peas as a side. You rarely get this kinda peas anywhere, and these were actually good. The cake was also average, nothing special. On the positive side, the staff were very helpful, nice, and friendly throughout. Overall, the experience was okay. The interior of the restaurant is really nice and I loved it, maybe that’s the main reason people come. The food was just okay for me, nothing particularly memorable.

Food definitely overpriced with the taste We ordered this snack and one sizzling chicken chop Unfortunately I don’t have habit of taking photo so took 2 pieces of pop corn chicken before I decided to take one for review keeping The pop corn chips was RM20 before tax I was thinking it might be the thick cut and filled with pop corn chicken Instead we have normal fries + 4 and half popcorn chicken. Kids took 2 and I took one small tiny pieces before I took this photo And the sizzling chicken chop Unfortunately chop. Just chips and some beans sitting next to each other. Nothing more than one smaller than palm size chicken. RM36 before tax, sauce is super salty I wonder if they tasted their food Ambiance was good I think that is only reason still attracting people come by

We had dinner at Plan B Ipoh on Saturday around 6–7 PM. We ordered the buttermilk chicken spaghetti and the korean burger for my husband. I shared the spaghetti with my elder son. Unfortunately, not long after, we experienced diarrhea and bloating. My son's condition worsened and he had to be admitted to the hospital, where he was diagnosed with rotavirus. It's such a shame because the place is beautiful and has a great vibe. Hopefully, the management can look into hygiene practices more closely or maybe do a quick spot check and ensure staff are consistently practicing proper handwashing. I’m not writing this to bring down the business, but when it involves health, especially my son, I feel responsible to share our experience. Hopefully this can be taken as constructive feedback for improvement. Would love to come back if things improve. Tq

I ordered steak with fries and risotto. I asked for medium rare (I think), and it was so juicy and I’d rate it 8.5/10. It was my first time trying risotto, and I’d give it a 9/10! The taste was very cheesy and a bit milky, though a little muak after a while. Still, I loved it! Really recommended!

The journey thru the housing areas to the restaurant wasn't nice but once inside their compound, it is excellent. The mushroom soup is the best. Fish & chips also good. Carrot cake good. Chicken chop average. Steak average. Service very good. Environment (inside and outside) nice but come before sunset to enjoy. Overall worth the visit.

I recently visited a place, and I have to say the staff was super friendly, making me feel welcomed 😊. The food presentation was on point, and every dish tasted absolutely delicious 😋. Even though it was a bit pricey, the portions were so huge that I felt I got my money's worth. However, I noticed the space was a bit close, which made the noise echo quite a bit 📢. Overall, it was a great experience. I would consider visiting again.

Really nice place. Prettier in person than in pictures and tiktoks. Food was REALLY good and unique. Never tasted anything by Gordon Ramsay but if i had to guess, it would taste and look like what they served us here. Reasonably priced too, RM25-30 per plate, slightly more for salmon etc

We went to this cafe near Ipoh Garden East. Had brunch here. Food nicely served. Staff is helpful. Greenery surrounding. The ambiance was nice, and we didn't have to wait long. The prices were very reasonable for the quality.

Overall, the food was all delicious and the portions were all ginormous. However, the keylime pie didnt really suit my palate because it was too sweet and I couldnt really taste the tanginess of the lime cream.

It has been years since I have had salt baked chicken and had to stop by this famous shop to try the much raved salt baked chicken. Totally no regrets. I took a Grab and made a pit stop quick dash in and out of the shop to pick up the chicken. There were 2 persons in the queue and that moved very quickly. The staff were very efficient. The shop has pre-packed the chickens ready to go and patrons have the option of heated or chilled chicken to go. There isnt a dine in option for this shop. Payment is only by cash. The chicken was succulent, tender, and juicy. It was infused with a rich herbal aroma + flavour that just waft through the air when the packet of chicken was opened. I love the slices of dongkwai herbs slipped into different parts of the chicken. The herb really further enhanced the flavour of the salt baked chicken. It is possible for the whole chicken to be eaten by a single individual in a single seating. Otherwise, good for sharing too. All in all, it is a unique and amazing traditional food to enjoy. I recommend anyone who is thinking of trying to do so.

Definitely worth the hype. Popular for a good reason. It's so tender, fall of the bone with barely any effort. Well seasoned & salty enough without being too overwhelming. Very easy, purchase from counter. Take away . Simple. Chicken at its simplest form yet very delicious. Recommend

Ipoh. The market leader for the famous Ipoh delicacy, additionally offers the frozen version from a 24/7 vending machine. Lightly seasoned with salt and Chinese herbs, the “kampung” (free range) chicken is not tender but chewy although juicy and tasty, especially freshly baked. The chicken is not salty salty, but may still be too much for some, if not many. A salt-lite option would be ideal. Additionally, the shop could offer tastings, but more focused on quick sales.

Very yummy salted herbal Chicken. Straight forward buy, either warm or frozen chicken. RM35 each. No dine in, only take away. Frozen chicken can last 1 month in freezer.

My Mrs. love it so much, she bought 10frozen, 1 ready to eat. Packed it into our checkin baggage, brought it all the way back to Singapore. We tried one in our hotel room. No dine in, tapow only. As you open the wrapping, the aroma filled the room. The taste of the gravy; herbal, flavourful. Eat it while it's hot. Soft, tender, full of flavour.

We were told to try this salt baked chicken. They sell the chicken in a vending machine too. We bought a few frozen ones and was really good. I can imagine freshly cooked ones would be even better.

This is one of the most famous salted chicken shops in Ipoh. Their red and white building is definitely one of the most eye-catching in the area. I felt the size of the chicken was slightly larger than other salted chicken I’ve tried before. Now, they even have a vending machine selling only their signature salted chicken!

Every dish here is truly above standard. The Dry-fried Prawns (干煎虾) were absolutely delicious, perfectly charred and flavorful, probably the best I’ve ever had. The Pork Belly with Char Siu Sauce (叉烧汁炒花腩) was tender and paired beautifully with the sauce. The Stuffed Tofu (酿豆腐) was soft and delicate, though I’m personally not so used to the fish paste filling.

Came here few times whenever coming to Ipoh and this is one of the must go makan spots. Advanced reservation is required because this place is full most of the time whether for lunch or dinner. Despite being a busy place, we don’t have to wait long for foods to arrive. The taste and flavor for each dishes quite satisfying and delectable, especially ginger chicken and sweet and sour pork.

Chinese restaurant food. Ordered pan fried Ming prawns, Iberico pork neck, Tofu and Spinach soup with 3-types of eggs. All very tasty. Pricing on higher side. Very busy restaurant. Needs reservations especially for dinner.

This place gets really busy, so reservations are a must. The suckling pig and big head prawns were fantastic. I love how they add steamed rice to the prawn sauce — the rice soaks up all the flavours and tastes absolutely heavenly!

We recently dined at this restaurant in Ipoh and found the dishes to be exceptionally well-prepared and flavorful, utilizing fresh ingredients. I particularly enjoyed the crispy skin and succulent meat of their pork knuckles.

The steamed fish was fresh but the sauce is bit salty for us. The salted crab came in a pair. Crab meat was fresh but was a bit salty for me. I love the freshness of the steamed prawns and it is a must try (min is 300g). The french beans with mei cai was a pleasant suprise and I would recommend it. Parking was easy.

From Thai-taste every dishes were delicious. If you stay at this hotel, should try. The restaurant sauce is so good. They also sell for take home also.

Hidden gem of a restaurant in Ipoh. Six of us had dinner: Smoke Duck; Kai Lan 2 ways; Tofu with Luffa Crab Meat; Supreme Fried Rice; Deep-fried Prawn with Salted Egg Yolk. I liked the fried rice with the chilli condiment a lot. But honestly every dish was yummy. Even the desserts. I highly recommend the warm Water Chestnut and Aloe Vera Egg Soup. If in Ipoh make it a point to dine here at least once, even if you are not staying at the Weil Hotel.

Celebrated my birthday with my family here. Food is really delicious and yummy! Especially the duck, is a must to order! Ann is very helpful to organize two tables for us and recommended us nice dishes. Service is good and promptly. Highly recommend if you visit Ipoh.

One of my favourite go to restaurant for Chinese cuisine. Food is good as always … especially the lychee duck. Now with the Weil Horizon app vouchers, our meal was really worth it. More importantly is the services rendered by the staff. Would have rated them a 6-stars especially Anne, Angeline & Chooi Yee.

Came here for lunch during CNY. They had lion dance troupe coming in today. Many staff, including chef, waiters and captain were excited. Maybe service was lacking a little in that way. (forgivable). Environment was a little dark for me. Could be a little brighter for me. Came just to try their Signature smoked duck. I must say it is unique. Very rarely or none smoke duck has crispy skin. It is nice. My family enjoyed it. The rest of the dishes are good too. Another plus point for healthy eaters, this place states their food is free of MSG. So eat at ease without worrying about your health. I wanted to try their salted egg prawns, but due to CNY season, their menu is limited. May come another time to try other dishes and the smoked duck again!

Cantonese cuisine, I was hoping for dim sum but turned out they stopped serving dim sum on the menu for almost 5 years now. Ordered a few of their signature dishes for sharing - Salt and Pepper Assorted Mushroom - Signature Smoked Duck with Lychee Wood - Pan Fried Tofu with Minced Chicken and Soya Sauce - Yuk Sou Hin Supreme Fried Rice We also had different individual portions of soup. I had the Seafood one and it was a little salty but overall good. We also had individual desserts which were as it should be, no wow factor. The Signature Smoke Duck was wow! Amazing crispy skin that's almost fatless, tender duck meat and you can really taste the flavour of the smoke in every bite. This is the kind of dish I will want to have again the next time I return to Ipoh. The fried rice was delish too, excellent wok hey. The final bill came up to RM369 for 5 of us, that's pretty cheap for a meal of this quality.

Very delicious Indian cushion love their tandoori chicken half, chicken biryani , red curry chicken vindaloo, mutton shahi korma, mango lassi, bread basket got all the favour of the bread.

Good Indian food. Good service. A decent restaurant for celebrations. While we were having dinner, there were 3 rounds of happy birthday songs going on. It was fun. It was an overall satisfying experience.

One of the best north Indian restaurants I've been too. The service is always top notch and the food is excellent. Lots of variety with some staples. Thier deserts are also really good. I come here alot for functions and for dining and would really recommend it for a nice place for family gathering or business meeting. They have a full stocked bar with great selection of some Indian liquors. Also have private rooms of various sizes to accommodate all.

Delicious food, generous portions and very sweet waiters. Everything came quickly and was very hot. We had pappadums , tandoori chicken, chicken and lamb curries, basmati rice and naan bread. All superb!

We heard that the food here is good, we just did not expect the food to be THAT GOOD! Certainly the best Indian restaurant we have experienced! The decor and atmosphere was good, the service was excellent, and the quality of food was top-notch! Truly UNFORGETTABLE A must-visit if you are in Ipoh!

In a word, AMAZING! Beautiful atmosphere, outstanding food and exceptional service! We recently celebrated our special day at Tandoor Grill, Ipoh. It was just a small dinner party for 50 to welcome my son and his family. We Were impressed with every aspect of the venue! The foyer was beautifully decorated and the buffet was phenomenal. The Staff was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and offered excellent recommendation. Customer service top notch. Here I would like to thank "Dhevan" for making our special day unforgettable.

The food here is decent—nothing extraordinary, but satisfying enough for a quick meal. Be prepared to order and queue before being seated, though the dishes come out surprisingly fast once you do. The biggest downside is the limited parking, so plan accordingly.

Delicious flavourful noodles such as the mee hon and hor fun. Also tried the fish cake noodles which was quite interesting with tasty broth (gravy) which supplemented the dish. Octopus was good.

The food here is satisfactory, though it may not be particularly outstanding. I find that the Tuck Kee in the KL branch offers a more appealing flavor profile in my personal opinion.

Loved the noodles here, and the big plus is the high number of fans and cool temps in this restaurant. Opens for dinner, and service is fast and efficient. Photos to have a better idea of what to order if you’re not familiar with it.

We accidentally walked into the wrong Tuck Kee restaurant, but luckily realized it while ordering. The baby octopus dish was really fresh and tasty, but the rest of the dishes were just so-so. Overall, it was an okay experience."

Portions was big and sufficient; the 滑蛋炒粉 is definitely one of the best (even compare to Penang)!

When you come Ipoh, everyone mentions tuck kee. Or probably I should mention the tourist haha. I passed by Ipoh recently, quite late. The famous chicken rice already closing up, caught them cleaning up. So drop by the next best thing, which is a few doors down. The famous tuck kee. So many here with 2 similar shops side by side even. Made a beeline for this particular shop cause of the queue outside. Ordered a few dishes on the menu. The fried stuffs etc plus meatball, lobak, taugeh 😅, yes I was abit hungry. System is to queue and order at the counter. Then they will designate the table. At least it’s systematic and avoid disorderly confrontations. The main star fried noodles/yu Kong hor was good but abit salty for me. The taugeh and meatballs are a great compliment. The lobak unfortunately was forgettable. The baby octopus was another star side dish. Yummy. Overall drop by when Ipoh, try it to see what’s the fad about 👍🏻

Had a really bad dining experience at here, the place I sat was so hot. I had a dinner buffet on the weekend some foods were not fresh and tasted not good especially the sashimi & seafood. Not worth Rm108 for these foods.

We arrived on a quiet Friday evening at approximately 5pm and found the restaurant largely empty. Due to our corner table but still front part of the restaurant, it was difficult to get the waitstaff’s attention for service. We opted for the a la carte menu. The prices are typical of a premium establishment in a hotel setting and are therefore reasonable. However, the food quality was disappointing. For example, our steak was not cooked to our desired doneness and was prepared as the staff saw fit. When we asked, they said it was cooked all the same but we all opted for different doneness prior. This was a significant disappointment given the price of RM88. The sauce choice was also totally different from what we asked for. Other items were also not especially exceptional but came with premium pricing which is understandable. The cakes were particularly underwhelming. Notice how there are many fingerprints on the plate as well. They even forgot and miss our orders. The appetisers came much later after our mains arrived. Despite the restaurant’s good location in Ipoh, the food quality was below my expectations. Our bill came to RM700-RM800 but i would not say I had a great time there. Giving lower rating than usual because it was a total letdown.

Had the dinner buffet for RM98 each on a Saturday. We came early, at 6pm, and there was almost no one else, so we had some peace and quiet. Enjoyed the satay, sashimi, fish curry, and cakes. But what surprised us was the braised clams with soup. Very delicious. Had two full bowls of them. Pleasant hotel restaurant ambience. Service was prompt and polite.

5-Star Buffet Experience! I recently had the pleasure of enjoying the buffet at Tiffin Restaurant and it was truly a memorable dining experience. The variety and quality of the food were outstanding – from fresh seafood to perfectly cooked hot dishes and delightful desserts, every item was well-prepared and beautifully presented. What made the experience even more exceptional was the warm and attentive service. A special thank you to Ms Jess, whose hospitality stood out throughout our visit. Located at the lobby of Weil Hotel Ipoh. The restaurant is clean, spacious, well set up. The staffs are friendly and hospitable. The buffet breakfast here is very good. It has wide selection of food ranging from local to international food to choose from. The nasi lemak here is superb. The fruit here is also very good quality. There is always good number of diners and crowd here making it very lively and vibrant. Highly recommended.

Ate several times on Tiffin. Jess and team gave great service. The menu offered a wide range of choice and we enjoyed our selections. In our two week stay we ate several times in Tiffin and were never disappointed.

Overall the food was great, it’s fresh, well cooked. Asia and Western were equally great too! Service was fast and great too.

If you’re looking for a cosy atmosphere, look no further—STG Ipoh has it all. With its warm and inviting setting, it’s a great place to relax, catch up with friends, or enjoy a quiet meal. If I’m not wrong, STG Ipoh has been around for about 16 years, which speaks to its popularity and consistency. However, when it comes to the food, I find the taste quite normal. While the presentation is well done, the flavors don’t particularly stand out, and considering the pricing, it does feel a bit overpriced for what you get. On the bright side, their service is excellent. The staff are very attentive, well-mannered, and ensure a pleasant dining experience. Overall, STG Ipoh is a wonderful spot for ambiance and service, but if you’re looking for outstanding flavors at a reasonable price, it might not fully meet expectations.

Celebrated my husband's birthday with my in law family here. Love this place! We all enjoyed the foods! Nice ambience and excellence service! Bought some STG teas for my PIL and a tea infuser bottle for husband. They are happy! Will definitely come back again! Miss their food already.

The ambience is lovely with dim lightings and the staff are friendly. The food servings portion is generous and fast. We just walked in and did not make reservation on Sunday. The oxtail soup, tea smoked chicken whole leg and smoked duck breast were good.

Overall food is not too bad for the price because of the nice environment and beautiful structure. Nice ambiance with family gathering and photo taking. The oysters 🦪 although is frozen but surprisingly taste fresh and juicy.

Ambience is very nice. Staff is very helpful and friendly. The nasi goreng campur is very good. Mushroom soup is also very delicious. It would have good if they could at least serve plain water which doesn't cost much🙏😄

The English fish and chips the portion is very generous but the fish feel like not that fresh and the grilled chicken is yummy. I love the orange sabah tea very refreshing

Revisiting after along while. The food is still excellent bar a minor hiccup. My daughters ordered a butter garlic cheese nan and a butter garlic nan each and could not tell it apart as the one supposedly with cheese had spotty coverage of cheese. Called over the captain and asked him to tell it apart and he could not. The best comment he could give was the chef maybe made a mistake. We left it at that but kudos to our table waiter when he ask us if we were satisfied with the meal and we mentioned this matter, he said we should have told him and he would have replaced it. It seems the captains here are long in the tooth as the other captain actually had the nerve to say their reserved parking lot is for customers only when I was backing into it. I went down and asked him since the other halal outlet in the block was closed, did he not think I was going to be their customer! He then went on to give blustered excuses for his misunderstanding. Maybe it is because I was still in my travel cloths but my vehicle at least should have indicated I can actually afford to dine in your esteemed establishment. Talk about looking down at people eh. Never mindlah. So even though our waiter was good, overall I rate your service middling because of this missteps.

The price is a bit high due to the quality and standards they have. First, the food is great especially for the mutton. The mutton was so tender and soft. The curry fish has one of the thickest gravy for a curry, pair with basmati rice. Heaven indeed. The aloo globi, naan cheese and puri was okok, compare to the dishes Thirdly, the service was great, they give us glasses of water and the constant service towards our table. Parking wise , it is a bit tough to find.

We came to ipoh via Penang from Australia, the taste was very authentic and the food was amazing. We really enjoyed at Pakeeza and the price was very reasonable based on AU currency. Will definitely visit if we ever return to Ipoh and see the friendly staff again. This was suggested by the Malaysian Grab driver. The food was served pretty quick and biryani was delicious. This is walking distance from AC Marriott we stayed at newly refurbished 5 star hotel at very good price. Terima Kasi

Atmosphere is perfect but I must say my experience was disappointing. Breakfast was good, serving freshly prepared cooked food. However staff was limited and non of them was paying attention to the tables that wanted to order more food. Dinner, was equally unpleasant. We ordered the steak and requested it to be medium well. What we got was a hard and dry chunk of meat, after serving the food, the waited just left without even explaining (yes it was different from the dining experience in Jeff’s Cellar, and this was a special celebration dinner) no even simple courtesy to wish ‘enjoy your meal’ just left after placing the plate on the table. The picture shown shows how dry the meat is. It was raining when we were sitting on the candle light dinner area, yet we also have to request and remind several time to the staff to lit the mosquito coil for repelling them. Overall, not too happy with the experience.

It really depends on what you order. Some food is spot on delicious, and some falls below expectation. So, I'm giving the average score of 3. Food worth ordering: Pizza. But don't go for anything fancy. I had the Lamborghini pizza. The "crispy" wagyu crackling topping was tough and hard to eat. Just go for something simple. I like the pizza as the dough is very well made. Oxtail soup. It is very comforting. Food to avoid: Japanese grade A5 wagyu beef. Don't try it. The beef is terribly cooked here. Stay away.

Their fruit was bruised, the chicken in the club sandwich was too dry, and the Char Kway Teow were burnt, not the smoky taste of the wok. Only bread dipped in butter and olive jam and fries are delicious. They didn't even give me plastic eating utensils when I take away it. I occasionally found it difficult to get the attention of a member of the wait staff.

A wide variety of dishes for breakfast for overnight guests. You order from the menu and it'll be served to you and you're more than welcome to have second third or fourth helpings! Loved the cold pressed juice where you select your veggies or fruits combo and they'll serve it at your table. Food portion is good, let's just say after breakfast, I can skip lunch 😊

Breakfast was included with our stay and wow, I was blown away by the amazing food and array of breakfast items on display. If you are here on a health retreat, you can hand-pick fresh fruits and vegetables to be juiced for you. If you want to indulge in something a bit naughty, the chef can prepare fresh waffles or crepes with delicious exotic fruit and cream. Eggs can also be cooked however you want it. Jams are homemade. The restaurant itself is located in what can be called a rainforest paradise. You can eat your breakfast with the hot springs in the background. Truly beautiful. The members of staff are very attentive and always taking care of you during breakfast. Can't wait to return.

Lovely place to chill and have a relax dinner. We wanted to celebrate a belated birthday but did not make any prior arrangements. The only cake in the dessert menu was a chocolate cake. Unfortunately our birthday girl do not like chocolate. The staff took the trouble to arrange for a lemon cake and made a beautiful presentation of it. Although the cake was a little dry, we appreciate the gesture and were happy We ordered both western and local cuisine on the menu. The chicken rendang and ikan tiga rasa were fabulous but I can’t say that for the lamb. Service was great. Staff are well trained, attentive and helpful. My dad do not like mint sauce (he ordered lamb). They suggested other choices of gravy sauce available in the kitchen and brought him some. Good service made a lot of difference 😊. Bravo to the staff. I will be back…

I gave s three star service although the food tasted ok because they do not have any concept of serving western dishes course by course. We ordered soup, salads, sides and main dishes for 9 pax. Soup was served, mushroom soup was served hot and tasted good. Oxtail soup had too much herbs in it so does not sit well with our palette. When we were halfway done with soup, the garden salad and salad nicoise were served and we accepted it. But before we knew it, all the sides and main courses like pork chop, fish & chips, classic chicken, maryland chicken and two other steaks were served at the same time! We had to stop them from serving another two tenderloin as the table was so filled up! I commented to servers that I felt the pace was as quick as Mcdonald’s! Servers were wonderful people but serving was just too swift. We arrived at 6.15pm and before 1hr, all food had been served. I have never came across an issue like this while eating western food in many parts of the world. The whole experience made me feel so rushed and I could not feel relax despite smiling faces and wonderful service rendered by Kevin and other servers.

I had the Chicken Maryland, my wife enjoyed the Hainanese Chicken Chop, and my son went for the Fish and Chips – each dish was delicious, hearty, and carried that old-school charm you don’t find often these days. The flavors brought back a sense of comfort, almost like stepping into a different time where food was simple yet full of character. The ambience of the restaurant was just as memorable as the food. The vintage décor, colonial-era touches, and warm atmosphere made the dining experience feel like a journey into the past. It’s rare to find a place that balances great food with such unique character, but Durbar FMS does it perfectly. Visited this hidden gem in Ipoh with my family last Monday, and it was a truly memorable experience. The ambience was cozy and welcoming, but what made our visit really special was the exceptional service by the staffs. Susan, a wonderful lady, made us feel like we were guests in her own home. She was so attentive and kind, going the extra mile to ensure we were comfortable. She even shared the beautiful history of the restaurant with us, which added a personal touch to our meal. Ive come to this wonderful place since I was 3. Im so glad as I have millions of memories in this place. And the shocking thing is it has kept up the good food,service and atmosphere even 11 years later at 14. I love the food especially the Chinese and western cuisine. However the garlic bread is replaced with sourdough FYI. But still taste fantastic. The staff is Polite and attentive. They are very kind and well mannered. Many thanks for creating such amazing memories for me. Atmosphere is calm with low music in the background. The many pictures and historical events decorate the restaurant. Everytime I come to ipoh I always visit the restaurant. I can see the staff cleaning very well. Highly recommend

We stumbled onto this old gem by chance; guided by heavy downpour and lack of open bars! What a blessing. If you are looking for old school colonial setting (especially if you have been to KL’s Coliseum when it was still in town), then this is the spot. The staff here are super friendly and hospitable. Food brought back memories of eating in Coliseum when I was a kid. Definitely recommend this place! Chicken chop, fried chicken, fish and chips, baked crab, poached pear, crepe Suzette. All must try’s :)

I am so glad I came here. Such a beautiful and historic space to enjoy a beer, a snack, and some light conversation. I thoroughly enjoyed my time looking at the antique maps, portraits, and pictures throughout, and the kind staff took me around and told me all about the history. Interesting selection of beers and foods not commonly found in the area.

What a gem of a place! In our adventures researching family history linked to Ipoh we dropped in on the first restaurant established in 1906. Greeted warmly by the lovely Susan upon poking our noses through the door, we were taken on a magical history lesson of everything this Time Machine of an establishment had to offer. So in love with the warm welcome we received, we came back the same evening for supper, where we were treated like royalty! The food was delicious, the service exceptional, the memories… priceless. Thank you all at Durbar at FMS for becoming such a special moment in our Ipoh experience!

Look, I've lost count how many times I've visited. Breda is the cornerstone for great quality brunches in Ipoh, and has been that way for years. Lazy weekend mornings aren't the same without poring through their vast selection, from waffles to eggs Hollandaise to a good ol' big breakfast. Their menu is generally delicious, but I always order their smashed avocado toast. Served with your choice of protein, the avocado meshes perfectly with poached egg and a thick slice of sourdough. The pairing with smoked salmon is best because it's hard to get elsewhere. For the lunch menu I'm a sucker for their pork chops. Tender and well-seasoned, honey garlic is the sauce that hits the spot for me (they used to have a creamy sun-dried tomato sauce that was even better but sadly discontinued). Other worthwhile items to try are the truffle risotto, bloody Mary pasta with vodka, and truffle waffle with fried chicken. To round off, the environment is soothing and evokes classicism, the service staff are attentive, and prices are slightly on the high side but worth it. A coffee and main course would be about RM40+. Through the years, they've remained consistent and still put out delicious meals. Breda is a cut above generic western outlets, with more thought and effort put in. Highly recommended.

The atmosphere is so welcoming. As soon as u entered you will be greeted warmly by the team. The menu is widespread and the drinks are superb! I love their efforts into making the rose latte - such details and beauty!! We will be back to try others. 👍👍

Cafe is clean, comfortable and spacious. Car parks are aplenty, easy to find. For the ordering, you may have a look at the menu provided and scan QR to order. After that, can make payment at the cashier. I had the Alaska Pollock Fish and chips - It tasted great and not oily. The Tokyo Osmanthus Lemonade is quite refreshing especially on a hot day. Spaghetti Carbonara was good, not dried and not drenched in sauce. My son ordered the Fried Chicken burger, he finished up the whole thing. I did enjoyed my brunch there, will come back next time to try the others.

Really nice Cafe for Western food when you’re done with local fare. Online ordering is easy as, environment is clean and spacious. The food is pretty good, very tasty and good portions. My own feedback is giving more than 1 slice of bacon in a big breakfast/ BLT. Your sourdough toast needs to be toasted abit more too. Drinks are great, staff quick but abit of connection would be nice.

Food: Tuna croissant was too soggy. Looks presentable though. The duck salad was ok. Beverage: Weak coffee and tea. Service: Attentive. Atmosphere: Nice deco and spacious but restroom needs refurbishment. Also, requires pest control as a giant cockroach was waiting in the ladies restroom. Overall: Not enough to draw me back.

Probably one of the best western cuisine food in Ipoh. A place where they are generous with proper spices to be use. First time having porkchop that satifies. Meat wasn't hard but tender and juicy when eat, accompanied with perfect honey garlic butter sauce. Fish and chip is well done, not too soft to break yet not too hard, the tartar sauce is simply marvelous. Service was impressive, shout of welcome and immediate greet to table the moment you open the door. If only there's a bit more "Italian" touch in the interior and signboard, i believe the atmosphere would be romantic. Nevertheless, the ambiance is perfect for dine in.

Food was good but portion can be more generous. Price is on the higher side though. Place is nicely decorated - feels warm and cosy. Suitable for a nice family meal. Nice soft music is provided. Staff were friendly and attentive. Courteous and professional. Parking available along shophouses.

Visited today 17-August morning for breakfast. 1. Price more expensive than those coffee shops visited last 2 days. The dishes portion is smaller. 2. For Chinese dishes offer here … not tasty cannot compare to standard elsewhere. If you have other choice, go somewhere, if not , it’s okay to fill your stomach.. 2 dishes photos attached, other dishes don’t even bother to take !

A classic old-school Chinese kopitiam with great local food at affordable prices. The atmosphere brings back memories — simple, nostalgic, and full of character. Tried the chee cheong fun, char kway teow, loh bak and curry mee — all were excellent. It’s no surprise this place is so well-known. A must-visit if you want to experience authentic Ipoh vibes.

Super popular coffee shop. My favorite food got to be prawn noodles soup, laksa and lor bak. Char kwey tiao also delicious. Coffee is good also but must request less sweet. Prawn noodles aunty is pretty and very friendly.

I’ve visited this spot for breakfast twice, both times around 8 am, and it was not too busy, so we simply walked right in. The service and atmosphere here is typical of casual eateries (kopitian) in Malaysia. Please note when I left there were a few families lining up to get in. During my first visit, I tried the Asam Laksa. It may have looked plain (I didn’t take a picture), but it was bursting with flavor! I couldn't resist coming back for a second visit to sample the Hokkien Mee (also known as prawn mee or mee udang). This time, I made sure to snap a photo before diving in. What’s great about this Hokkien Mee is that it’s made with our Muslim friends in mind, so there’s no pork in it. I genuinely think the flavor competes with some of the best I've tasted in Penang (I am from Penang)! The portion size was generous, and it looked fantastic too. Overall, I had a lovely experience at this place. Thanks for reading about my breakfast adventures!

This kopitiam really got the Malaysian feel, can see Chinese, Malay, Indian all sit together makan, very happening. The chee cheong fun quite nice, laksa also not bad got that pineapple taste, curry mee ok-ok la, quite lemak. Only thing a bit turn off is the drink price, small teh panas already RM2.80, a bit mahal.

This is the only place where you can find food from all kinds of cuisines — Chinese, Indian, Malay, and even Western, all in one spot. No need to queue this time; we got a seat right away. Today I ordered prawn chee cheong fun, fried kuey teow with egg, spicy pan mee, and two hot teas. The taste has stayed the same over the years — only the prices have changed, of course. Prices range from RM2.80 to RM8 for both food and drinks.

Whoever comes to this place sure must be loving the old-Chinese-shop vibe and the food was surprisingly good and cheap 😭 - Must try; Hainan Chicken Rice, the prawn Char Kuey Teoe with soy sauce, Yong Tau Foo. Got nasi kandar also, looks people are queuing. - Waiting time very fast, you just need to order at the stall and pay straight away and give ur table number. - Bring my kid, the waiter understands so they give us better table and spaces - Price is reasonably good

Walking in to this restaurant, very nice ambience. Came with a few locals, if not I doubt will find this place 🤣. Always trust the locals when it comes to local food. And boy they will never be wrong. Service was fairly fast. Ordered few dishes, the pandan chicken, petai prawn, taugeh was just umamilicious. Delicious, full stop. The fish was however kinda made my total review 4 instead of 5 stars. It didn’t contain enough ooommpphhh unfortunately. Taste didn’t jump up, kinda bland for me. Would I come back here, a definitely yes. Overall more positives than negatives 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻

It was my first time to this restaurant and it came recommended as one of the go to for locals. It was an enjoyable meal and here are my highlights: - The restaurant has 2 levels and when it is crowded, they will open up the top floor to house more patrons. We were seated on the top floor and they switched on the air conditioner. It was a pleasant temperature that made the dining experience pleasant. - The decor is vintage and adds on to the ambience of the place. - All the dishes we ordered were nice to eat and we enjoyed them. - Payment can be by cash or card. Payment is after the meal is done and before leaving. - The older lady who served us was very friendly and helpful. - Street parking is available around the restaurant but can be challenging to find a spot during busy times. It is a place worth trying.

Excellent Nyonya style restaurant. Fried Brinjal is very delicious and same with the Yum yum fried egg. Udang lemak is delicious too and spicy. Fried sotong ok only. Signature tofu also not really special but overall taste is delicious.

I’d recommend the Yum Yum Egg and Yum Yum Brinjal. These 2 were the best dishes so far. 2. The fish fillet was okay, but nothing remarkable. 3. The Yum Yum Fried Drumstick was nice but maybe (?) they put too much curry powder in their seasoning, as it has a curry taste to it which overpowers the flavour of the fried chicken. (I stand to be corrected on this) The fried chicken was still nice as it was juicy and crispy. 4. The fried rice was simple, but nice. It tasted like comfort food (As if made by your own mother/grandmother) 5. The watermelon juices were just watermelon juices. 6. The total price was reasonable for the food that we ordered.

The crispy eggplant was soooo good and crispy! The fish head curry? Absolute comfort food. The gravy was rich, tangy, and packed with spice, perfect for drowning over rice. The fish was fresh and tender – every scoop was happiness. And the kerabu mango salad was the best refresher – tangy, crunchy, a little spicy, super addictive. Totally balanced out all the richness from the sambal and curry. Overall: 10/10 meal, full of spice, flavor, and good vibes! 🌶️✨

We just had dinner here this evening 13/11/2025. First and foremost, the service was superb. All staff and servers were attentive, and friendly. We ordered three dishes, i.e., yum yum eggs, fried brinjal, kungpow fish. The portion size was just nice and taste great. Washed them down with lime prune juice.

As per the restaurant’s name, their food is yummy indeed! A mixed of Nyonya and local Chinese cuisine, we enjoy almost all the dishes. The portion for 4 pax is not very big but it’s good so that we tried out more dishes. It’s been a few weeks do I can’t recall the dishes’ Names but you won’t go wrong following the recommendation from the owner. Will return here if I return to Ipoh!

Set on a Balinese Thai theme, Little offer customer with a cozy atmosphere. Food wise, it is up to standard but on a pricey side. Service is attentive with well trained staff. A nice place for some photography session. Parking is ample.

I had high hopes for this place, but unfortunately, the experience didn’t match the price. The ambiance was disappointing right from the start—it was so dimly lit that I could barely read the menu, let alone see my food properly. Despite being advertised as a Thai restaurant, the menu had very few authentic Thai dishes. What was offered was underwhelming—some items were incredibly basic, while others simply didn’t taste good. Would I return? Absolutely not. Would I recommend it to anyone I know? Definitely not. For the price, this place just isn’t worth it.

We loved the music and the atmosphere, it was relaxing. The staff was friendly and helpful. For the food, I would say okay. Okay doesn't mean good. The fish and chips, so so. The lamb satay, my lamb lover friend told me it was overcooked. The little elephant burgers were okay. But drinks, better choose something simple and don't try anything that you have not heard before. Well, you might like it but not me. The price is on the high side.

Abit of luxury… price like hotel restaurant… table service could be better. Waiter not well know of their own menu, but does repeat orders. Not enough order 5 mains only give 4 sets cutlery The ac is very strong, and hints of lemongrass throughout the whole restaurant. Food is generally tasty. The mains portion are good, but tom yam soup portion is ridicule, and the dessert bowl is gigantic.

Our first disappointment was at 9:30 pm when the waitress informed us that the kitchen would close at 9:45 pm, but Google stated that their business hours are until 11pm. If there are any changes to business hours, it is crucial to update as those who come from far have to order and eat in a hurry because they have no other choice or time to search for other shops. The food was overpriced and the taste was average, to be honest. Pineapple friend rice, meatball spaghetti, lychee rose, iced lemon tea, and bottle of mineral water cost Rm104 for 2 people. In my view, we can find better and more satisfying food in various cafes or shops that are willing to pay this amount instead of paying for bland food.

An Asian fusion food restaurant with interesting decor and ample car park spaces. Looks well kept and inviting. The food looked good, and quality is there. However, I felt that it’s a watered down versions of local food. The cendol was an exception, with good texture. Overall an interesting place to relax for dinner.

Delicious food, good prices, friendly and fast service. I'd highly recommend it. Only downside is they didn't seem to have aircon, but they did have lots of ceiling fans.

Excellent food and very kind service! The food looked delicious and was freshly prepared. Also, the food was served on real porcelain plates and glasses. No plastic, which was very much appreciated. The waiter was very helpful and recommend good dishes. Recommended to try local dishes. My last visit to Lim Ko Pi was about a year ago, and I decided to drop by again today. Starting with the service, one of the waiters — an elderly man, probably in his 80s — again showed impatience toward us, just like during my previous visits. What I still remember clearly is how differently he treated foreign tourists in the past, being courteous and well-mannered with them, which made the contrast even more noticeable. Air-conditioner was not functioning, it was hot ! As for the food, the brown sugar of the Ice Cendol was disappointing,which really affected the overall flavour. On the positive side, the Curry Noodles and the Set Lunch were up to their usual standard, and my friend and I were satisfied with those dishes.

Old charm meets good food. The whole places reeks nostalgia and it's a pity there aren't more of such places anymore. Greeted by an elderly gentleman who promptly took our order. Food was served pretty fast. We had the belacan fried rice with roast pork. Fried to perfection with crispy roast pork. The 3 meat curry noodles was a large portion. The curry is served separately and you need to pour it over the noodles. Both were tasty. We found that coffee in ipoh is good no matter where you go and this place is no exception.

Why doesn't this place have a queue around the block beats me. Such a treat to have lunch here, pork skin curry with rice comes in a tiffin box, how quaint! Really nice local food and coffee

You can free park on the opposite space. The coffee and the atmosphere are the plus but unfortunately the hot ambiance casts a negative spell on the dining experience.

I went for Dim Sum today at GreenTown Dim Sum in Ipoh, and it was a really great experience! What makes this place special is that it’s pork-free, so it’s perfect for halal eaters or anyone who avoids pork, including many Indian diners. They offer a wide variety of tasty options made with chicken and prawns, so there’s something for everyone to enjoy. If you’re in Ipoh and craving Dim Sum, I definitely recommend checking this place out!

The food at this restaurant is really good and worth trying, but I think they need to take better care of the place. The aircon is quite weak, which makes it uncomfortable at times. Service should be faster, and the staff need more training to be better organized. They should also serve all plates at the same time instead of one by one, to give a better dining experience. With some improvements, this place could be excellent.

Finally made it to one of the first halal chinese owned dimsum houses in Ipoh. Not sure how it was when it first opened, but now although they do serve acceptable dimsum and dishes, it is just managing a passable rating with hits and misses. The fillings are sometimes delicious but then let down by the skin, as exampled by the siew mai that had its snow skin broken. I think this can be summarised by the ‘lokek’ in the ingredients, whereby if they do not stinge the food would be over the top. Imagine chinese noodles without any seafood, even a couple of shrimps would have sufficed, and you would get my meaning . Overall, a good place for someone who just started to try out halal chinese yum cha, but for those with an already developed taste would be better to look elsewhere in town. I keep saying my chinese boys in Ipoh would be complaining loudly if they dined here during the meal.

Went to the restaurant around afternoon on Saturday. Not too crowded. We were seating outside at first but the staff quickly suggested a table inside when they saw our baby in stroller. Food: 10/10 We ordered some dim sums, stir fried radish, & cantonese noodle. The dim sums were big compared to other dim sum that i had before and the fillings were really delicious! All other foods were also in big portions. Price: Affordable Personally i think the price was quite cheap compared to other dim sum places. We ordered a lot but the price came at less than rm100. Overall, it was a really great experience dining here! We most likely will come again when we visit ipoh or maybe we will come just to dine here!

I totally love the idea of infusing tea into cooking, from savoury dishes to fancy tea drinks and my favourite tea jellies (Jasmine, Oolong & osmanthus 💯)!😋 Always love visiting this spot for some decent like meals and their “Lei Cha”, steamed sweet potato & grain buns, homemade tofu & black tea curry are the all times must-order! They have quite a big menu, cozy and spacious environment. And food wise, nothing is overpowering here, in which would suit you who prefer some light meals! Highly recommend 🫶

100% recommends this place! So tasty and healthy!!! This is the second time I came back and would come back again! The salted egg pumpkin had lots of salted egg yolk and amazing flavor. Also recommend the sweet potato balls of you like chewy, sweet and salty things. Long jing Lei cha rice set was a unique standout with a fresh yet complex and deep flavor. Vegetarian food is great, surprisingly good. Good for those who wish to try, how vegetarian food can also be so tasty, with such good variety. It's right in the middle of the Ipoh town. You can enjoy good chisese tea too. Food and drink options on the menu are really good. Can also buy tea leaves, tea pot sets...

Thunder tea rice was not bad but does not have the wow factor. They were quite generous with the thunder tea though. Same for the salted egg fried pumpkin, nice but not fantastic. May consider coming back to try other tea flavoured dishes. Nice place to chill.

Nice and relaxing place to sit down and enjoy tea and food. They provide hot water to top-up the tea yourself. Good selection of tea and teapots to buy as well. Easy to spend at least an hour and more here.

A very nice and cozy space with tea and food. Car parks can be difficult due to the city center of tourist attractions. Tea selection was good, but too bland for my liking (may because I prefer stronger taste. A good menu has a combination of either meat or vegan, they even have combo set to choose from which is affordable and nice.

This Tuck Kee restaurant serves a good variety of food. We ordered a mixture of meat and seafood dishes. The scallion and ginger chicken were very nice. The skin were really smooth and had good taste and texture. Very generous with the ginger and scallion. The seafood soup was nice but a little too salty. The roasted duck and char siew were good. Fish was fresh and properly steamed. The restaurant is very crowded so prior booking is recommended.

Shop has been around many years and people will still come for the duck. Food is consistent though not the best but some taste good enough. The curry is normal. Staff service is good though. Price reasonable.

Always a busy restaurant even during weekdays. Dishes are tasty but a bit salty to my taste. Veteran waitresses are friendly and eager to introduce their signature dishes. Overall, one of the better restaurant in Ipoh.

Disappointed with the Service and Food Quality I recently attended wedding lunch here, and unfortunately, the experience was far from satisfactory. The food was below expectations in both taste and quality. To make things worse, the service was rushed and unprofessional. Despite the fact that our lunch was not yet finished, the staff started serving the remaining dishes in a hurry just because the restaurant was closing at 3 PM. We were still eating the 6th course when they began bringing out the rest of the dishes all at once, making us feel unwelcome and pressured to finish quickly. This kind of treatment is unacceptable, especially for a special occasion like a wedding. We expected much better and will not be returning or recommending this place to others.

We ordered three dishes . The first was a Lady finger's salad, reminiscent of “yee sang,” though the sauce had a slightly different twist. I found it refreshing and innovative; we genuinely enjoyed it. Unfortunately, the mixed roast platter—comprising duck, roasted pork, and char siew, didn’t quite meet our expectations. While the roasted pork was decent, both the duck and the char siew were underwhelming, bordering on mediocre. Thankfully, the fried hor fun turned things around. It was outstanding, silky smooth with excellent "wok hei" that elevated the dish. We absolutely loved it. The restaurant’s ambience was another plus. Newly renovated, the space felt fresh and inviting, making for a pleasant dining experience overall.

Food was normal, had better ones in KL. The most special thing here is the fried crispy cha siew bao which was not bad and not common in other states.

Old school dim sum with authentic local flavors, some good items and some are quite average. It all depends on individual preferences and likings.

Only open on Thursday to Sunday. Be ready to queue up for your turn but the turnover is quite fast, very efficient staff. Comes with steam chicken with secret sauce (it’s very good, different from other place), chicken innards, chicken feet, not to forget bean sprouts. You will forget what full means because u can’t stop eating 😂 salute to the owner who still comes out to work eventhough mobility is a challenge to him.

Open at exactly 6pm. They are open only on Thurs- Sun but if they felt tired, they will just close for business. This place is operated by senior couple for more than a few decades. Looking at them, they are easily over 80 yrs. If you are looking for a nice Tauge Chicken Hor Fun ( Not Kai Si Hor Fun) this is the place. Locals lined up to eat and they will close once they have finish selling the limited numbers of chicken. Orders will be taken and a plate of white pepper chicken feet is served long before the rice came. Probably its the appetiser. The noodle and the chicken came later. The fried onion oil brings out the chicken flavour , the noodle is smooth and that is additive. Anyway, the price is not cheaper than KL even in Ipoh. Overall the chicken is soft and smooth. Tauge as usual don't dissapoint. Try if you can because the legasy of this place is short and they don't have any apprentice to continue the business and will stop once the couple could no longer cook.

Came during weekday and the restaurant is already full of customers right when it opened at 6pm, luckily there's still some table left for us to be seated. There are chairs outside which is mainly for those waiting for their takeaway order, one of the kind customer there informed us of this as we thought there were no seats inside and have to wait outside. Food wise I think it's just your average Bean Sprouts Chicken in Ipoh, and price is kinda high. Service of the staffs here is ok, since the owner is already old, they hired foreign staff to help and it is not too hard to understand them.

This is an old shop serve one of the authentic chicken, beansprouts ho fan in Ipoh. The taste: is a bit different from the normal chicken bean sprout hor fan. It comes with unique aroma which has a blend of herbs, pepper and sesame. The hor fan has its signature smooth and silky texture. The chicken is soft and juicy but for those who is first time trying, you may found some red oozing out the chicken, but it is normal.

The chicken given is really sad, mainly from breast meat n hardly any skin. My guess the bones n skin r used to make the noodle broth as the broth is really rich in taste. No white rice which is a bit let down. Taugeh is the short type n felt not satisfy when crunching. Tried their briased chicken feet n it is good. Overall, they really maximize the use of a chicken but their main soy chicken is really a let down

Came to Q early based on reviews. However, no matter how early we came, the serving did not go by Q. There was a couple just walk in when the shop start operating and they were served ahead of us. Chicken texture is smooth as the chicken was dip in ice bath after cook but lack of firmness of a free range chicken as farm chicken is used. Price wise is at a premium range RM76 which not worth for farm chicken. Other foods are pretty pricy as well. For example, one plate of bean sprout cost RM18 and one cup of barley drink cost RM2.80

The dining environment is beautiful, the food is delicious, and the service is excellent. It's best to call ahead and book a table to avoid long waits during peak dining hours. Try their specialty dishes, I think they're all delicious and worth trying. The ingredients are fresh, and the dishes are perfect in aroma and taste.

Look, there's something lost in translation. The Chinese name for the Museum is ghost-style/demon-style restaurant, which suggests an otherworldly experience. With that in mind, they do stand out among the regular, run-of-the-mill Chinese restaurants for the decor and more importantly, the food. The exterior looks like a glitzy 1950s movie theater, but with a prominent red and black facade. The interior is adorned with red walls, booth seats, an elevated wooden platform, a fireplace, shelves of (fake) hardcover books, and a bar area. The aesthetic choices are well, eclectic, but the sum of it, somehow works. Night after night they perform in front of packed houses. In fact, reservations are crucial to securing a table. And what of the food? Yet again, eclectic, but effective. Everyone comes for their famous char siew (barbecue pork), and siew yuk (roast pork). The former is a smoky, tender, lightly-charred, salty-sweet, thick-cut slices of pork belly that melts in your mouth, a definite highlight and must-try. The latter is well-seasoned, thick cut pork belly cubes with crispy crunchy skin and presented erect. I dig that. The other highlights are the shellfish. The lala clams (Venus clams) cooked with wine, and curry giant cockles are always recommended. Rich in flavour and super-sized, cooked til juicy and tender. Rarely do you encounter cockles of this size! For vegetables, the sambal paku-pakis (fiddlehead ferns) are a delightful plate of spice and texture. This should round off an excellent meal for a family of four. Yes they do have ordinary dishes like tomato eggs and sweet-sour pork, but you can have them anywhere else! Prices are on the high side, but you get what you paid for. Come for the food, stay for the fun. The Museum delivers for lovers of pork and shellfish.

However, the noodles still had a trace of boric acid taste, and the braised Yee Mee was rather average and overly salty for our liking). View from the restaurant outside you never thought it was a good restaurant. It was recommended by local friend. All food that we ordered was awesome， I love the char siew, cold vege, steam fish and the fried chicken. Need to make a reservation if not you might couldn’t get a seat.

Great service from Junnie and Fong! Our group of 10 pax had a beautiful time at this establishment. We love the Guinness and Heineken draft! Good point is no corkage charge if bring own bottle of wine. Overall food tasted yummy but just a little more salt will be better. Roasted Char Siew was fantastic! Better than the ones that we had tried at KL. Air con was cool. Table for 10 pax was big enough and we didnt feel squeezy. Food served was tad too quick though so our table was filled to the brim with all the food and it turned cold so fast. If they can improve on this area then it is perfect. We were seated at 7.15pm which was the second serving therefore need not rush as many patrons from other tables had left too. Other than that, we had an awesome experience at your restaurant.

Don't let the facade of an English pub fool you. Enticing you with the old English interior with draught beers and stouts to salivate your palate with Chinese dishes with a twist of fun flavors. That cold thai paku salad is simply divine, with the fresh, juicy & plump cockles paired with scrumptious char siew.
