Superb food and great service in a nice atmosphere. Really friendly and efficient and it made for a lovely family meal. The only minus is that we found it too dark, making it difficult to read the menus properly. Even the young ones had phone torches on. Very enjoyable though.

Sunday Birthday meal with friends. Popular place with a buzz, food was very nice. Had a couple of bottles of wine the barman was happy to recommend and gave us tasters. I had the rump steak which was cooked exactly to my liking and was delicious.

I had the pork neck thing, garlic fries and a creme brulee. The pork neck didn't blow me away, it had a bit of a porky taste to it at times which I usually associate with old meat, but it was ok. The fennel sausage stew below it was not bad. The fries were great and I like the creme brulee too, it was good and creamy.

It was my first time here, and will definitely not be my last. Great food, amazing service - 10/10. A special thanks to Millie, Brogan and the rest of the team that took part in making my night super special. Thanks guys🥂

Incredible place. Came here after my graduation and the whole experience was 10/10. The food was great and our server (Tom, I think) was fantastic. They even brought over a token of congratulations which was incredibly lovely. Would really recommend!

We had a great bottomless brunch for a table of 22. We had great food and drinks, definitely recommend the bacon cheeseburger and woo woo drinks. There was great variety for food and drinks and great help from staff as our table had a few allergies. Our server Sam S was a joy and an amazing server. Constantly checking up on us, getting us drinks and overall excellent staff. Would definitely come here again for a bottomless brunch or even a drink with friends. Great atmosphere and vibe.

Visited on the 25th May for my friend's birthday. We had the bottomless brunch, which consisted of 2 hours of unlimited cocktails and a choice of brunch dish. Our server was Gina, and she was an absolute diamond. Gina was welcoming, funny, and understood the vibe of our group. The Slug was also celebrating its own birthday, and so patrons were treated to a shot of Tequila Rose topped with cream ( very tasty 😋). 2 members of our group had the plant based breakfast, and they raved about how good it was, always a bonus coming from self-confessed carnivores. My goddaughter had the big breakfast, and I had the cheeseburger. We were all pleased with the food, and the cocktails were on point also. The loss in point for atmosphere was not due to the Slug but more to the fact that we were a lively bunch and the other customers seemed much much tamer...lol. Bottomless brunches should always be a vibe, and Gina our server definitely passed ✔️ we will definitely be going back and look forward to even more great customer service.

Our drinks were always full, and any time we asked for sauces or napkins, they were right there at the table — we never had to wait. Popped in here today after a lovely walk nearby. Glad we did, our first visit here and it didn't disappoint. Friendly helpful staff, dog friendly, coffee was hot and tasty. We had a light snack of a cheese scone with cheese and chutney and salad, absolutely delicious. Wouldn't mind trying the breakfast here sometime. They do meals too, and reasonable price. Definitely recommend.

A nice local business. Staff very attentive and helpful, food is very well presented and tasty, coffee is very good. The cafe itself is small and cosy but retains enough space for adequate seating without cramming you in, there is also an outside seating area to the front and rear of the building. The full breakfast is very well turned out and uses locally sourced produce. Its definitely worth a look in if you are visiting Little Eaton.

The Little Kitchen Café is a real treasure. The food is always fresh, delicious, and full of flavour, with plenty of choice to suit every taste. The desserts are absolutely outstanding – beautifully made, indulgent, and the perfect treat. The staff are consistently polite, welcoming, and attentive, which makes every visit such a pleasure. A wonderful café that truly deserves 5 stars.

Excellent platters for our tenth anniversary party. Beautifully presented with a wide range of lovely fresh food. There was something for everyone and everyone had plenty. First visit to The Binary in Mickleover I’ve always been keen to try this place as I’m a regular at The Dragon in Willington, which is their sister pub. We came here for an evening meal - a group of 14 for a work leaving do and had to pre-book our food. I went for the Korean chicken burger. When we arrived, we ordered our drinks, but they took quite a while to arrive. In fact, myself and another person ended up waiting nearly an hour for my beer and her cocktail, which my manager eventually had to complain about. It was a bit frustrating, especially as we kept asking about them, and others in our group were already receiving their second drinks. To make matters worse, our food was served before the drinks arrived, however there was an apology when they finally turned up. I had the Korean chicken burger with chips and coleslaw, as did a few others. We all agreed it was quite dry — more like something you’d expect from KFC and the coleslaw portion was very small. A few others in our group had small issues with their meals too, including food not being served hot enough. After the meal, we decided to skip dessert and more drinks to avoid further delays and headed to the pub next door instead. A shame really, but I might give it another try in the future.

Disappointing evening at the Binary. I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience here was really disappointing. The food was unfortunately bland and boring. Also, did not taste fresh. The presentation was so poor, a 3 year old could have done better. The simplest dishes were hard to enjoy. The portions were also on the small size. The staff were polite, but the quality of the food really let the place down. I hope they can improve because the location and atmosphere.

Second time for food, not disappointed. They made an error with our order, input large instead of small but still gave us large and charged for what we originally ordered, hence too much too eat, but luckily we got doggy bags. I love it and definitely go back again.

Absolutely fantastic Bottomless Brunch. I can honestly say we have never had such fantastic service. Our server Ryan was the epitome of customer service. Will we be coming back? Absolutely. A great lunchtime experience.

My husband and I recently went for a meal at the Binary and were disappointed with the portion sizes and price of the meal. The menu has changed, instead of ordering a ‘full’ meal e.g. fish and chips, you now have to order the fish, and then add the chips on top. This is the case for all of the meals on there from memory. You can choose to have a small or large portion. I find it quite confusing to be honest, there’s far too much on there and it’s not clear how big or small the portions are! I ordered a small Thai curry and it was literally tiny. I feel the quality of the food is good but for the price you’d expect the portions to be better and to come with sides! Another example is we both ordered deserts which were the eton mess ice cream pots. It was literally one scoop of ice cream in a pot with a small sprinkle of meringue, 2 raspberries and small drizzle of sauce… we paid £9.99 for that! I love the building and the atmosphere in there but I won’t return again because I don’t feel its value for money at all.

We held our wedding reception at The Dragon on 30/08/25. We were absolutely blown away with the kindness, hospitality and how hard everyone worked to ensure our reception went smoothly. The food was absolutely delicious, there was so many compliments said by our family and friends on how amazing the food was and how lovely the room was (Deb at bee sweet occasions did an incredible job!). We had the most amazing day and made some special memories. Thank you so much to all the staff that made our day run smoothly and stress free! Our overnight stay at The Cottage was wonderful. Our room was so gorgeous and clean, we will definitely be booking an overnight stay for our wedding anniversary.

We booked as a party of 8 for a birthday meal, the venue is excellent, the service was excellent, the beer selection was excellent and the food was absolutely amazing. Really, I can't say anything more. The prices are what you'd expect to pay anywhere however, what you pay at the Dragon is well worth every penny so be assured, it's well worth it.. Thanks everyone at the Dragon, we had a brilliant meal.

Lovely food in a pleasant setting. Service is usually good, although you can get a little forgotten when the pub is busy. Sunday lunch is a set menu and is reasonable although they now add an optional service charge of 10%. Our son loves the chunky chips! Standard food is a little overpriced.

The food was excellent — the Sweet & Sour Chicken starter was delicious, and the mixed platter roast dinner was really tasty. Everything came out perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The service was also great — friendly, attentive, and exactly what you’d hope for. A couple of things that could be improved: -A 10% service charge was added automatically to the bill. Personally, I find it more comfortable to add a tip myself if I’m happy with the service (and in this case I absolutely would have, since the service was excellent). -The men’s toilets unfortunately weren’t clean. One had no toilet paper and was dirty, and the other was even worse, so I wasn’t able to use them. -There were a lot of flies, which was uncomfortable. I would suggest something like a fly fan repellent on the tables. Overall, we really enjoyed the food and service, but a little more attention to the small details would make the experience even better.

I visited the Dragon for a bit of nostalgia with my father last week and what a great experience. The sun was warm, the beer was cold, the staff were friendly, the outdoor seats were comfortable and the view of the canal reminded me of my childhood. What a great way to spend a late Summer afternoon.

Great pub with great food. Staff were friendly and food came out quickly. Kids had a good choice and reasonably good value for what you get. Also good to have a kids activity sheet on the back of the menu. Only off putting thing was all of the damn flies. I appreciate that it is hot outside, but there were lots and they were buzzing around us and our food. It stopped the experience from being 5*. Need to install one of those fly lights that kills them.

Lovely place for a small gathering. They have separate rooms for parties and bigger bookings, as well as an outdoor seating area by the boats for comfort and scenery. Adequate children's menu and good options for dessert. Washrooms cater for toddlers (nappy changing area) and are clean and presentable too. Reasonably priced too. Main disappointment was that we were not allowed to decorate the table for a birthday party, reasoning provided that it's too much cleaning for housekeeping, so my friend offered to clean it herself - I've never known for a customer to clean up themselves like that.

Visited again last week to have a family meal.. service is always fab and atmosphere. However I was extremely disappointed with my jacket potatoe which I was really looking forward too.. it was microwaved.. u just just tell.. n I thought I could of done better at home.. I barely touched mine.. my son and partner had really good meals.. I was just a little upset with the quality of mine.

Went there this morning girl on counter was pleasant and coureous , Price of breakfast was good , But then food arrive , my god the bacon was doing breaststroke sausages were drowning bacon was sliding all over the place , Black pudding was warm uncooked and litteraly awful . Worst breakfast i can recall ever . My advice dont go there .

Lovely visit to RASK in Derby. I was looking for a brunch spot after a yoga class and found this place which had lots of lovely healthy options, and cake if I wanted something less healthy 😉 I had the homemade beans on toast, which I usually don’t find enjoyable, but they were delicious. Very accommodating of my dietary needs, as I can eat milk, and was very pleasantly surprised to see a mushroom coffee on the menu! I love a shoorm coffee, and it tasted delicious. Great service and lovely venue.

If you want to experience a neat, modern cafe vibe, which is still cozy and serves great essentials, Rask is the place to be. The coffees are great, and the menu is limited but tasty.

Been a few times now and it's always right on the button: great food, great service. As I have mobility issues myself, I love that it's wheelchair accessible and not as an afterthought. For lunch, I had a fantastic quiche, light as air but creamy and cheesy and filling. The accompanying potato salad and coleslaw were perfect dish buddies. For afters I had freshly-baked lemon meringue cake which I practically inhaled, it was sooo good. Even now, I'm drooling, remembering it. So many cafes are let down by poor pastries/cakes (usually bought in bulk and plasticky), that's not Rask. If you want fresh food made by people who obviously care about the quality of food deeply, Rask is the place for you.

Super friendly staff, a great varied nutritious brunch/lunch menu made with fresh, high quality ingredients. The protein pancakes are a personal favourite and very well made iced matcha. One of the very few places in Derby to get delicious and healthy food.

Finally somewhere that sells real food! A lovely, clean cafe with friendly staff. The quiche of the day was delicious and the salads that came with it were perfect. Can’t fault a thing. Will definitely be back

Went here for an afternoon snack and ordered black coffee, cappuccino cake and corn fritters. Cappuccino cake was absolutely delightful, perfect combination with a coffee. Not too sweet, very moist and delicious sponge. Cream had a subtle taste of coffee not overpowering. Then I ordered corn fritters that come with bacon, poached eggs and avocado. Eggs were perfect consistency, slightly runny on the inside just how I like it. Avocado was very nicely seasoned with lemon (I think as it had a a bit of acidity to it), salt and chilli flakes. Bacon was nicely done too, crispy but not dry. Never tried corn fritters before but these were really nice and overall combination tasted great. Coffee was nice too and staff were very nice and friendly and brought everything promptly. Definitely recommend! Lovely atmosphere, staff and food.

Went today and had the Brenda’s big breakfast. Music slightly loud for my liking, we had to wait 25 minutes for the food as they had a lot of deliveries going out! Breakfast was a good portion but the bacon and the sausages were just barely warm. The breakfasts were served to the both of us at different times. The breakfast was nice apart from the black pudding and the very basic sausages. Tea was lovely and good customer service.

I’ve always loved this cafe and have been a regular customer for a long time. I rang today to ask if they could send a cup of tea, I know it’s not on the website, but other local cafes are always happy to do this by simply covering the cup securely with cling film so it can be delivered safely. I have 3 slipped discs so I cannot get up and just make myself a tea at the minute. However, when I called, the man who answered seemed completely unwilling to listen. I was just trying to explain how other cafés manage it not being cheeky or difficult but he repeatedly spoke over me and dismissed what I was saying. He said he’d do it “this time” since I’m a regular, yet when I tried to clarify how it’s usually done, he abruptly changed his mind and refused altogether telling me “yeah I know what I’m doing” lol clearly not as you cant even send a tea safely to me The way he spoke to me came across as unnecessarily rude and even a bit misogynistic just a know it all tbh. I was only trying to help make it possible to get the drink delivered safely, and instead I was talked down to. Every other cafe in Derby seems to manage this simple request without issue or attitude hot drinks arrive perfectly fine and never cold. It’s such a shame, because this used to be my favourite cafe. Sadly, after today’s experience, it’s clear that customer respect and basic listening skills are lacking here. It seems that giving this man a little bit of responsibility in the cafe has sent him on an ego trip. No doubt I will get some cocky responses to this review

I dunno if it's just me but how can you have a cafe with 6 staff and only 1 cook? And the cook litterly cooks 1 meal at a time, fry 6 eggs at once and keep the que flowing not 1 plate at a time! Never seen a cafe where 95% of the staff are just stood there looking at customers with a blank face while they wait for 10 orders being cooked 1 at a time. Honestly it was embarrassing to say the least

My food was delicious, but a mix-up with the sauce nearly ruined it. I went to use what I thought was HP Brown Sauce, but after a small taste, I discovered it was a completely different and rather horrible-tasting sauce. I'm glad I didn't put it on my meal, as it would have made the food inedible. Just a heads-up to the management: This kind of mislabeling is actually against the law. To avoid any problems, you should remove the HP labels from all your sauce bottles. The food itself was top-notch, and I'd be happy to come back, but please sort out the sauces.

Fantastic food and drink. I’ve never really had wine as an option before at bottomless brunch, but really enjoyed it. Lola was a great server, we had so much fun. Sometimes I find that there is not enough food in bottomless brunch, but for Beyond, they did a side and a pizza included! Lovely.

Food was beautiful but we didn’t get our food until our brunch was nearly finished so by that point hardly anyone was hungry as we was full up on cocktails Not sure what quite went wrong at the start as we left 40 mins with just one drink and hadn’t been asked about food But the manager quickly realised we wasn’t overly happy and he stepped in and took over our table and gave us some shots and an extra half an hour longer Once he took over our table we had a fab time! The drinks was coming at a good rate and the service he provided was fantastic I would definitely come back

We would whole heartedly recommend Belong. We hired the upstairs venue for a birthday party, we added in flatbreads and fries. The chefs were fantastic, so accommodating and friendly and very talented. The food was superb. They were also happy to pop our cake in the fridge and bring it out with plates when we were ready for it. Just a wonderful experience to create a memorable night. A big thank you from all of us.

I had the most amazing hen do at Belong Bar! Greg and the team were incredible, so attentive and friendly throughout. We hired the whole venue on a Sunday for a surprise 70th birthday, and it couldn’t have gone better! The owner Gregg was super helpful, the staff were friendly, attentive, and really added to the relaxed, fun vibe of the day. I can’t thank them all enough! The food was delicious, and the drinks were great too with plenty of choice. Service was smooth from start to finish, and having the entire space to ourselves made it feel extra special. Would definitely recommend for any celebration!

The food was absolutely delicious. The flatbreads are definitely worth going for. We attended for a bottomless brunch. The cocktails had not much alcohol in them if any they were very disappointing… we then switched to red wine, the first glass was tasty but they then gave us one that tasted like vinegar so we didn’t bother staying for the full 90minutes . Would not recommend going for the bottomless brunch, there are better places that do a bottomless brunch and have actual alcohol in the cocktails 😅

The worst bottomless brunch we have ever experienced unfortunately. Went as a group of 8 for anniversary celebration / work do. A colleague booked this and explained that it was mine and my wife's anniversary, she was told that they would do something special for us as a surprise, but nothing came of this. When arrived we were not greeted, when noticed we were given a table and not explained how the brunch worked until we asked. The food was poor, 2 meals had to be sent back and 2 of us did not finish our meals. The drinks were even poorer, 2 types of cocktail were undrinkable and had to be left. I would say that the server was a nice woman and did nothing wrong, and the manager did not argue with our complaints and gave us £80 discount between the 8 of us. Ultimately the service did not align with what was expected based on previous reviews, and some improvements must be made.

Went for a brunch with two friends and really enjoyed . The staff seated us straight away and was continuously bringing us out drinks , once the bought out a drink they would ask on the spot what you would next like. Good selection of drinks , food was pretty good , music was a variety and all classics , the bar itself was quiet but was nice as that meant better service than other places rushing around and not giving the time of day. Asthetics were cute too, I would go back for the price and vibe. 😊 Side note- our server Jess was lovely and couldn’t help enough , she even took a picture of us all because she could see us struggling 😂

Really interesting environment. Great place to hangout! The cocktail waitress was very talented and kind. The roof top is nice and has heating lamps. Great mix of both girly drinks and strong rum and whiskey drinks. I was recommended by a local to check the place out and I'm glad I was. I had a great time!

Came here on Saturday for a friend's birthday. Amazing food from Hogbroast, my partner and I had the mexican sharer and it was so tasty and great value for money! All cocktails were great too!

Brilliant place. Decided to take the Mrs here for food as it was a place that served sharing plates. Surprised the ribs were a full rack rather then a few. The loaded fries were huge, we probably ordered too much. Staff were brilliant. And the cocktails were amazing, great variety and something for everyone. One grumble, ribs were over cooked, but the staff asked when taking the food away if there was a problem. The fact that want to learn and put things right for the future is impressive. Brilliant. We will be back

I’m gonna be harsh and give this place 3/5 star for a few reasons. I booked a table via telephone, and when I asked if we could have a table on the terrace, they said there was no need to ask as they would put us there automatically. When we got there, the waiter informed us all tables upstairs were full and we had to sit downstairs for the time being. We were there for at least 1.5 hours before we ourselves went up to check and found a place. The food is a little overpriced for the portion sizes/quality, but the drinks are lovely. Good live music, however it is extremely loud and I found it difficult to converse with anyone (in the end I was getting a headache; another reason we wanted to be on the terrace!). The interior and the terrace are lovely, and we did enjoy the last part of the night. I would give this place another chance; hopefully next time will be better!

Very professional, courteous people from the management to all staff. Nothing but good experiences here. Highly recommend all facilities for all purposes as we have experienced every operation here over the years. We recently used the hotel for some Italian guests who found it to be outstanding. The Roosters restaurant provides food worthy of any top class restaurant.

We had our wedding at the Morley Hayes. I cannot recommend them highly enough. The staff were attentive and helped us to create the most perfect day. The food is fantastic. We received lots of positive comments from our guests!

I enjoyed afternoon tea in the newly refurbished Dovecote Restaurant at Morley Hayes as part of a Marketing Derby event and it was probably one of the best afternoon teas I've ever had. The sandwiches were tasty (and interesting) and the cakes were amazing and imaginative. Highly recommended.

As far as pubs go, it was you'd expect. Food is what you'd want after a few drinks, prices are reasonable. The best part about this pub is the service. Couldn't do enough for me and my work party. Sam was especially helpful and attentive, thank you.

Came across place this place whilst looking for a decent menu for gluten free. And honestly I was not disappointed. From the get go the staff couldn't have been more helpful. First the gluten free menu is one of the best I have seen in a long time, everything from burgers, steaks to chicken, there was starters and even desserts. Once I explained I was both gluten free and dairy free and ordered my food, my starter had some dairy on it the server came to speak to me and altered it to suit my dietary needs. Honestly this is the best place and I will definitely be back.

Now then pal......rolled back the years today with a trip to the oasthouse to see how it's changed over the years and for a spot of lunch! I'll be honest with ya pal the tables and chairs have definitely seen better days and especially where we were seated. The chair I sat in was stained to high heaven and looked like whoever had last frequented it had followed through but luckily it was dry to touch and just badly stained! My knife had what looked like the remnants of someone's Brussel sprout on the end of it but luckily when my food arrived it came with a clean steak knife 🔪 The food and service was lovely and spot on though but it was extremely cold in the place like they are trying to save on heating? 🔥 It was also extremely quiet. Before we left I nipped to spend a penny and wow.......the toilets were in better nick than the restaurant! Surely you refurb the restaurant first before the toilets........not this place pal!

Pretty poor show to be honest - waited an age to get served with no apology. Service was slow took over half an hour for food. The chips had been reheated - and the food was very average - no value for money and will not be eating here again.

A hidden gem for an affordable treat for all the family or quiet moment together. We have come for many years and the staff are always welcoming and efficient. What more could you ask for at breakfast time. Great for Autism as our child can get up and get what they want when they need it. A bit easier eating out for them.

Had a spur of moment Breakfast. Tasha our server, explained everything to us, food came quickly as it's cooked to order. Good selection of continental breakfast items. Highly recommend. And Tasha was incredible. 🙂

Good food! Shane was a great host, made sure we had everything we wanted. I order the burger which was juicy and flavourful. A lovely interior and clean.

This morning I had ordered a small breakfast, no egg, black pudding, fresh fruit, beans on toast and two coffees. There was no option to swap out the egg for anything else like any other Wetherspoons offers when I mention I cannot eat the egg. The kitchen didn't even automatically swap out for something else which is what I was expecting when they didn't ask. But what they did do was automatically swap out the fruit when they "had no banana or apple". So they "gave me more blueberries and strawberries". Which seems like they maybe gave me one more of each. The fruit was old and slimy, not enjoyable at all. They also mentioned that they had no black pudding, so it seems like they don't have much as they also didn't have the pancakes that we wanted. The bacon was rock hard and the hottest thing on the plate was the beans. Wasn't an enjoyable breakfast.

As you can see in the pictures both the tomato and the mushroom were rotten, the hash brown was bitter from the old oil. I've been there before and had nothing to complain about, but I won't be going back

A better than average Wetherspoons pub. The food was served hot and was tasty. The service was prompt and the staff were friendly and helpful. Had a few pints of Team Mates ale which I recommend. The bar staff were hard working and kept waiting time down to a minimum. I enjoyed my visit and would recommend this pub, thanks.

I think the staff behind the bar deliberately don't serve in turn just to wind the guests up, because you can't be that dumb. You can be standing there for ten minutes while they still serve people that's just walked upto the bar.Sooner pay more for better service and less stress.

Orderd 2 meals (1 pizza 1 brunch)after 30 mins was told they had run out of pizza🥲so had to order alternative. We received the brunch after 40 min and the alternative 20 minutes later. We received a apology😮is 1 hr too long to wait?

As much coffee as you can handle for £1.19 numerous breakfast options, fairly quiet in the morning , what's not to like, breakfast and coffee under a fiver, bigger plates are available 😀

Really nice Wetherspoons pub - sadly threatened with closure as Spoons have a huge very elegant pub in the cathedral quarter. Always have liked the beers , competant servers and locals - it needs supporting to yry to keep it going.

Very tired hotel that could do with redevelopment. Staff was lovely to chat to and went the extra mile for any request made. Rooms was spacious and bed was reasonably comfortable. Sound proofing between room was non existent which you heard everything. If your a heavy sleeper this would unlikely affect you. Food was ok for the price, which I had the curry special that was plentiful. I felt the price per night was expensive for the standard of hotel it is at present. Would I use again, if I had the option no but if it was the only one available I would use as its not a bad experience I just didn't enjoy the experience.

Great place to stop whilst on Derby, rooms are compact but have everything you need very comfy beds just rooms get very hot, there is a fan but this front cool down the room would benefit from an air con unit. The pub is lovely and had entertainment on when we stayed, staff are helpful and friendly obviously it's noisy and people are loud when outside but you'd have to expect that on a Saturday night there is car parking on site that is free for hotel guests but not many spaces were available. The breakfast is great the free continental breakfast has hot pastries toast fruit cereal and yogurt so plenty on offer but the extra for a cooked breakfast is well worth it great quality food and cooked beautiful I would highly recommend

Nice to meet friends - Enjoyed meeting many friends here for parties and events. Friendly and professional staff offering a good venue with good quality and value for money. Big selection of local and international dishes. Highly recommended for locals and visitors.

We had a private event in their Public Room and stayed in one of their rooms. First of all, the public room was great. The atmosphere, decoration, and comfort are all beyond our expectations. I can suggest there for your private meetings/events with confidence. I wish I could take more photos. The room that we stayed was clean, had enough room for 2 adults. The voice isolation of the rooms is not well, but it is expected as it is an old building. The staff were kind and helpful. Prices are on market average. They have private and free parking space as well, just don't forget to register your reg number in 10 secs. Well deserved 5 starts.

Rooms are very outdated. No office desk to work from. Bathroom very cramped and only a tiny bottle of shower gel available. No aircon or fan present in the rooms either. My bathroom stank of damp mould, very disappointing for the price I paid. Staff were accommodating and friendly. Breakfast you have to pay extra for any cooked food. If not you get given the “continental breakfast” which is slightly undercooked soggy croissant, pain au chocolate and 2 slices of toast. Children’s boxes of cereals available as well. I will not be staying again. Didn’t eat dinner on the premises so cannot comment on evening food options.

Second time to visit here, Issue is to buy english breakfast for my few guests back in home. One lady staff said not selling breakfast,may be I dont looks english. Another lady staff trying to help, then after 5 minutes of waiting,they said they quite busy so can't give take away breakfast. Fot me it's just trust lost about behaviour of people..due to time constraints I thought to buy something local.

Went out with friends lunchtime on a weekend. We had reserved place so had no difficulty. We didn’t realise we had to pay at the till and the food is then brought to the table. The person who sat us could have informed us as its our first time here. Cant complaint about food. It is very nice. Has a good selection of vegetarian options. Staff and service could have bit friendlier which would made the whole dining experience better.

We have frequented Bear a number of times and had 2 poor experiences at Bear Derbion as opposed to Bear on Iron where we can not fault. Our latest experience at Bear Derbion was today when we decided to have lunch here. We waited to be seated as the sign instructs, but staff came and went by us without as much as eye contact. It took us to go to the bar area to ask if we can be seated only to get the reply "site where you want" we sat on a table recently vacated and started to look through the menu. Again, staff walked past knowing we had just sat there, but no attempt was made to clear the previous customer's dishes and wipe the table. I eventually had to ask staff to do this who came and removed the dishes but never returned to clear the crumbs and surplus food off the table. When the same member of staff returned with our drinks, we asked if the table could be wiped. She then returned with a cloth and wiped the table in a way that meant the crumbs all fell into our laps !!!.. my sparkling water never turned up so I asked staff where this was only to be told I have to get it myself from the fridge "which no one told us when we ordered" (plus we had to ask for a glass) Onto the food orders, I wanted to order flatbreads with chicken shawarma, but when we went to order at the bar,we were told there was no chicken which is disappointing to here when you have spent 15 mins looking at the menu, why didn't they tell you this when you are seated? My alternative was the Turkish eggs which says is 2 "rich yolk" eggs, the eggs I received resembled hard boiled eggs and the food was luke warm so no doubt had been sitting about for a while. My wife ordered the brioche chilli and cheese with Fries. The fries didn't turn up with the order, and we had to ask for these. They were promptly brought to us, but we're luke warm, so again, they they must have been hanging around for a while. All in all, the food was substandard, and the customer experience was very poor and unsatisfactory. I would consider alternative meal options when visiting Derbion in the future.

Superb! Can’t recommend highly enough. Excellent food, service, ambience. Very friendly helpful staff, delicious food (sister and I had lunch one day then coffee and cake the next). So glad to have discovered this gem on a weekend trip. Definitely worth a visit ♥️

I had hot chocolate from here. It was not as hot as I would like but I like the foam on top and the marshmallows. Not the richest or most indulgent hot chocolate but good enough. A bit pricey.

This morning the person serving the tables hardly spoke at all, they didn't smile or make eye contact whilst putting my food on the table, they just looked unamused. The staff on the till couldn't be more helpful and were really nice and welcoming. Surely if you're serving tables, it's important to make the customers feel welcome not make them feel like they're a bother?! The food as always was outstanding and I love all the bear restaurants but I didn't leave a tip because of the person serving the tables today, sorry.

Such a shame. Really nice place with friendly helpful staff, but... Two out of our three dishes should've come with garlic mayo, and didn't The cheese smash burger just isn't nice. The burger bun was moist. The burger sauce is too intense and tangy. Asked for tap water. The water only comes in small brown bottles which don't look appealing, and the water was warm and slimy. Chicken taco tapas tasted the same as hospital disinfectant smells.

Was shopping on Mon 20/10/25 in Derbion and was going to be having dinner at Carluccios next door. As it was 5:30pm we wanted a drink beforehand. Went into BEAR and walked to the bar/till area to order a cocktail and a beer. The lady behind the counter barely acknowledged me and then I asked to get a drink and was met with a huff and disappointment saying she’d already cleaned everything down. Yet there was still 30 mins until they were due to close. She made us feel very unwanted, I assured her that we would drink quickly but her attitude made us walk away. Dissatisfied and disappointed.

We arrived on 6/7/24 at 2.10pm and it wasn't very busy, we had decided to have the all day breakfast has we had previously had this before at the Eastwood Morrisons and it was brilliant, we should have left when we saw the state of the place all the tables where covered in dirty plates cups etc we had to clear a table ourselves to be able to sit down the table was still dirty and sticky I ended up asking for some serviettes to put on it before our breakfast came, my mum had to ask for a tea pot as there wasn't any at the drinks station, and when our meal arrived it was cold the gentleman that brought it to us was very pleasant but there was staff laughing and joking about instead of cleaning tables I myself couldn't wait to leave and would not recommend or return anytime soon.

Lovely food. Although unclear initially if they were open yet as no staff out front and no guests seated/ eating when I arrived. Although eventually managed to flag a cleaner down who got the ball rolling. Otherwise, great service and good food especially for the price. Will visit for breakfast again.

Visited this cafe for lunch with my family and it was absolutely delicious! Everyone really enjoyed their dinner, the cafe was really clean and the staff were very polite and helpful. Will definitely be returning!

it's cheap and edible. And it's kept quite tidy and clean. Called today 13.25pm 13/10/21 with my wife, very disappointed. All the vacant tables needed clearing. (see photo's) Had to clear ours myself. No staff about to report this. When our breakfast meals arrived they were not hot, only warm. The waiterest did apologise for the wait and said they was a storage of staff. This was apparent as people were having to wait at the till to get served or ask for help. If this kind of service is to continue there will be no need for this cafe as know one will be going in.

The full breakfasts get worse. Over cooked chipolata sausages & hash browns. Fried eggs solid, not even 1 bit runny. Bacon gets thinner...Beans and the rest of it sat under hot plate for hours... Wont bother again.....

By far the worst hygiene standards in this resturant. I have been to McDonald's all over the country and this one has really disappointed me. Got here in the morning, not even busy, and place simply stinks, if I was not with kids would have walked out. Inside, every single sitting area was dirty. I understand if it's dirty in the middle of the day. But for 9am it's an exceptionally dirty place. Even the kitchen looked like it was never cleaned. From floor, walls, ceiling, and seats, everything falling apart. Upstairs no-one can see through windows, not sure how did this place passed hygiene ratings.

This location was very busy for a Tuesday afternoon, but this was expected for a city centre. My order was accurate, and my fries were tasty and a good temperature. The Big Mac was tasty and did not fall apart when picked up, but the coffee was warm at best and I drank it as soon as I received it (this affected the score a lot as I am not one for having warm drinks, and a hot drink should be hot). The service was a bit slow even after factoring the location and time of day. Atmosphere seemed lacking and so I opted for takeaway.

This is the worst McDonalds I have ever been to. I don’t even want to give it 1 star but I cant post a review without doing so. The food is dry and cold, the service is slow and I even found plastic in my burger .

Been coming here on and off 3 years, it has declined the tables are disgusting. The staff take too long cleaning up they care more for the floor and emptying the bins than the tables. I rarely see anyone upstairs cleaning tables absolutely diabolical! I've complained to McDonald's via website in the past they just gave me points on the app to spend, nothing changed I wipe down the table myself. They always say that it eat out only but I still go upstairs to check. They need more cleaning staff, maybe they have staff retention issues. I've tried their other restaurants in Derby. Far cleaner! The toilet needs work they are not very good. Hygiene is a disgrace! STANDARDS HAVE GONE DOWN.

Filthy restaurant. Visited at 10am on a Saturday, all the tables upstairs were dirty, floors not much better. Mcmuffin was greasy and slapped together, latte tasted burnt, a horrible, uninviting place inside and out.

Why cant we have hot fast food. My burgers were just warm even though they were just made straight after I ordered. My order was lobbed and left on the counter by a female who should not work with the public (no manners or etiquette)she angrily shouted my order number and didn't seem to care whether it was anyone's order or not.

Location of this McDonald’s is top but it’s one of the messiest restaurant that I have ever been to. 2nd floor looks like it wasn’t cleaned for a long time. The food was very tasty and very warm compared to other McDonalds.

Love to meet friends here as its a big new space with fast service and friendly staff. Nice outdoor seating area for when its hot. Great offers when ordering on the app. It's not the cheapest place, but the quality always makes it worth while. Large decaf latte with whole milk is my fave which is served in the giant bowl mug! lol.

Overall a quiet place to chat but the service is drive thru focused. We were asked to leave the seated area/cafe at 5pm(timetable on door says open till 19:00) as the opening hours displayed on the door actually only apply to the drive thru.

A very nice coffee shop experience. We were served by Melissa who was really upbeat and helpful with her product knowledge on helping us to decide what type of coffee to have. Highly recommended.

Not sure what the cream was that they put on top of the drinks, but it was horrible and just turned into a load of bubbles. this was the second one I've had from there and both the same (though the first time was a mistake, but obviously not) won't get another one from there.

Dire.... Turned up at half 5 for some drinks, to be told we are closing in 20 minutes, on the door and website it says 7pm, the drive through was closed upon arrival at 5:15pm so I assume that closed early too. We were then forced to have drinks in takeaway cups only, not only is that a bit of drop in standards if you want a nice cup at the table, the cup I had smelt musty like it had been left in a cupboard. We were then prompted at 5:50 that it's closing time in three minutes, by the waitress who came by the table, which again put the pressure on, why advertise you're open till 7pm, also it's ten minutes, not three. Also the access button for their heavy front door hasn't worked in months, which again honestly shows the standards of this place, inside there was takeaway mugs and dirty tables everywhere, I can only assume they are understaffed, which if that's the case they need to hire more people, hospitality is in its knees and it shows, Costa pay your staff more and incentivise working there, or give your staff more training/guidance to make it a better experience. Won't be visiting again.

We visit several Costa's and have always thought it was fairly ok but on the last 3 trips I have noticed a slip in their usual standards. Tables sticky as not washed down or still has remnants of food on the tables/chairs etc and not very clean cutlery , plates and cups. This is not down to one but the 3 we usually vist and the last one brings me to this Costa and unfortunately it was not pleasant. As you can see by the pictures the tea pot looks like it's never been cleaned and if you enlarge the pictures especially the tea pot and spoon you will see what it looked like as it was delivered to our table. I suggest they send secret shoppers to their establishments and let their staff know the results. I understand it might not be their employees first choice of employment but if they work there and obviously get paid for doing it then it should be better standards than it is

This is quite a casual,no fuss,no sparkles Starbucks in Eaton on the A38.Large carpark at the rear with easy access into the coffee house.Nothing comfortable about it just plenty of wooden chairs and low tables.Great location for Matlock and Buxton etc. Tried the Almond latte last time we visited and it was really nice.

Ordered two frappies today 1st one took 25 minutes to make from when i ordered!!( Not ideal) 2nd one was gave to another customer. Only to be told" I will make you another one " Came back in to get my 2nd drink and that also got given to another customer. Don't understand why they ask for you name at the till and then proceed to let other customers take your drink. Not a very good experience at all. Ended up walking away with just one drink.

Good coffee shop, no drive through but can collect take away inside. Near Little Eaton just north of Derby and just off the A38. Comfy seats inside.

I came here with a friend for a coffee, a piece of something baked and a bit of relaxation and achieved all three. The soya milk latte I had was gorgeous, the chocolate cake was delectability on a fork and sitting upstairs in the peace and quiet, just reading a magazine, chatting and chilling out did my frazzled brain the world of good. The staff are SO NICE as well.

It's my choice of local mcdonalds in my area - ive been here bout 10 times now i think?, it's very tidy the staff are nice and efficient, in particular a lady called Maria is around tidying and looking after the place in general, they keep it very clean and I've never had an issue with food - i like the wraps and the salad fillings are always fresh 😋 crunchy cucumbers etc It's on the small side but there's lots of seating and it has a good lay out, definitely best mcdonald's I've been to Only gets a bit untidy or loud when it's mega busy - which is understandable! ❤️ Edit - photo - had the best wrap! Really hot and salad parts very crunchy 🤩 very happy

I really don’t know why I keep ordering from here, it’s like a form of Stockholm syndrome they have me under. I genuinely don’t know if I have ever ordered from here and they have got my order correct. Every single time they miss items like it’s some sort of personal vendetta against me. I don’t know how hard it can be to read items off a screen and put them into a bag, but clearly the simple workers at the meteor centre McDonald’s struggle with this task. If there were an option for zero stars they would get that, but one will have to do!

This is by far my favourite McDonald’s branch. Every time I enter those doors I am met with professionalism and great service. On this occasion, had an issue with food but it was quickly resolved by a manager named Micah who solved my issue without hassle. Charlotte served me at the counter and was very welcoming and friendly.

Had to nip down to the restaurant because my order was delivered with missing items. In return I got an apology, great customer service and nearly my entire order handed to me which was hot and fresh. It was more than I thought I'd get as an apology. The kids were very happy!!! Thank you Emma! Above and beyond!

Today, on 25/10/2024, at 4:40 pm, I visited the Marks & Spencer store to shop for clothes. My two-year-old daughter was walking in the children’s clothing section when suddenly, a large, heavy shelf that was leaning against the wall fell on her. She was in extreme pain, crying and terrified from the impact on her back and head. This incident was truly distressing and deeply disappointing. It’s shocking to see such negligence in a store that is trusted by so many families. I would have expected much higher safety standards, especially in an area accessible to children. Knowing that a large, heavy shelf was left unsecured and posed such a risk is completely unacceptable. This store should be a safe and welcoming environment for everyone, particularly young children. I will never forgive this incident, and I am extremely disappointed in Marks & Spencer for allowing such a dangerous situation to exist. I was a regular customer of this store but I will no longer shop at this store in Derbion, Derby.

A lady called Angela in store was so helpful and told me about the app and the perks. She went above and beyond helping myself and partner with ordering his christmas work do things and we can't thank her enough for her time. Such fantastic customer service at the self checkouts!

Just wanted to say a huge thanks to Colin who was staffing the euro exchange and lisa the manager. My partner and I were unfortunate enough to be impacted by the Heathrow power outage, we were due to travel to Las Vegas for a conference and it all got cancelled. We had each purchased dollars from m&s, myself a week earlier before the change over to ignite. We went to try and get a refund. The dollars purchased by my partner under the new company ignite were refundable with no issues. However mine purchased through m&s were not refundable, without a loss on the buy back. Colin went above and beyond to try and resolve the issue. When ignite would not capitulate, Colin and lisa ensured that I, as a customer did not go without. It's so rare in the world to get impeccable customer service. But time and time again M&S sets themselves apart from the rest and delivers quality product and service. Thanks for making an awful day a bit better.

No issues with stock - always something nice however I feel like there is a serious lack of customer service, since self checkouts appeared. Some staff can be nice but most are busy chatting each to other around refund stations avoiding eye contact as long as possible etc. Shortly- service is not better than in Primark or poundland, but stock of course is.

Tried to pay at the self service. It said calling assistant. No one came. The person on returns next to the self service continued to take customer after customer leaving me standing there. Terrible

Me and my wife are accustomed to the standard of service maintained by Marks & Spencer especially by London Road Derby, but the experience we had last week actually took me aback and disappointed my wife. Me and my wife was served by a member of the staff named Lily at Thursday 2:00pm on 22th May during the time of shopping in the upper womens floor, and her demeanor was absolutely unacceptable. She was unfriendly, chilly, and dismissive as soon as me and my wife walked up to her. She did not greet either one of us, she did not make eye contact, and she did not even attempt to be pleasant and accommodating. When I asked a straightforward question regarding a product, she answered in a visibly irritated manner, as if we was a bother. We felt we were being tolerated rather than served. I don't expect overexcitement, but I do expect the basics of decency and professionalism. I thought Lily was sloppy and almost rude, however, which is not acceptable in customer service. I and my wife actually felt upset as I was leaving home. This is not up to the standards we expect from M&S, and we would hope that a manager would contact Lily personally to resolve this. This is the sort of incident that just loses long-standing customers. Me and my wife would personally advise that M&S retrain or reassign the employee if one of their staff members is so disrespectful to customers.

Costa is the same as most places these days - very limited choices when it comes to gluten free. Basically, its take it or leave it! Makes you feel like a second class citizen...

What a joke. I don't mind the prices and the coffee is nice. I visited again today, after paying, I asked to use the toilet. Apparently it is out of order, just like last week and last month. No wonder the place is empty. I asked the staff what toilet they use. Their answer was to laugh. I suspect the toilet door is locked so the staff do not have to check on it. Unimpressed

Frappe was good and delicious as usual. Great atmosphere and clean store. But only one person was serving making it longer to order.

Why is it Costa coffee can't serve a decent piece of toast only warm bread this is my third Costa visit this week and the other establishments were exactly the same.. come on Costa where is your quality control.. shame on you especially as what you charge and the waiste of food as when you complain the person behind the counter looks like there on medication or something stronger and remark that is how it comes Again visited today 7,/6/25 actually sat here as I type again no idea on how to make toast only one side done for god sake what a rip off

Nice, medium sized Costa which is attached to the Odeon Derby cinema. You can either enter from the outside or from inside the Odeon. This is a standard Costa - good selection of drinks and food. The staff were friendly and the service was quick. The lemonade drink was nice

Typical small Costa in a shopping park. Exactly what you'd expect from a small branch of Costa. Staff were getting through the orders more quickly than some Costas do.

Found an hair on my chips. Showed the manager on shift and he was so unbothered about it. No one had hair nets on. I will not be eating here again. The only good thing about here. Is the happy and cheerful lady who brings the food to the table.

This is a busy one, this is a good thing. The fries were freshly prepared and in stark contrast to most maccy D's they were hot. Burger burgered how it should, tasty and filling, turn out you only need two lumps of meat to make them fill. As usual mcjobbers were polite and helpful despite being ran ragged by eleventymillion delivery drivers and impatient people with the munchies.

An OK McDonald's on a retail park, clean enough & with the usual clientele, some of which were quite noisy/disruptive. Staff are busy but attentive & the tables are all clean, although I'd have been happier without a "team member" yelling out the order numbers (although she seemed to enjoy it) So if you're OK patronising McDonald's, you'll be fine, but there are better, cleaner & cheaper places nearby.

My recent visit to McDonald’s was extremely disappointing. Despite the restaurant being nearly empty, I experienced an unreasonably long wait for my takeaway order of two meals. Upon receiving the food, the fries appeared stale and had a rubbery texture, suggesting they had been sitting out for some time. Unfortunately, this has been the worst McDonald’s experience I have had in the city, and I will be choosing other locations in the future

Ordering on the app was fine. For some unknown reason queued behind two cars waiting for food who should have been directed to a bay. Our coffees were like warm as a result of the wait. Service slow.

I made a very simple request which every other mcdonalds I've been had no problem with, and that was to change the sauce on a burger I was buying. The manager refused to, citing that because they couldn't enter it into their computer system they wouldn't do it. It was such a simple change, but he made an issue out of it. I think the manager here has forgotten he is running a service business and how important customer service is. I'll take all my daily lunchtime business to Tim Hortons instead.

So much sugary goodness on offer here .... not to mention pies and breakfast offerings and a full array of sausages and bacon and other meats at the butchers section!

Always a good place for lunch when I passed by. Daily specials on weekdays my favourite but can always have roast in baps very nice as well! Had curry the other day and loved it. Not the dead cheap type of place but not too pricy either and you get what you pay for. Friendly staff always a plus!

Visited mid afternoon, not too busy inside. Straight forward ordering and didn’t wait too long for the drinks. I didn’t think my peach iced tea was too peachy so asked the server to add extra peach syrup and this was marginally better, had to wait a good few minutes to get either of their attention and it wasn’t busy. Nice large seating area but tables and chairs are all massively low down.

Service was great. Food was not. The brownie was very sweet, tasted more like sugar not decadent at all. The Tiramisu latte was surprisingly good. Mini Caramel waffles were not the best. My expectations on that may have been bit too high.

I placed an order through Deliveroo. I bought a large matcha latte with oat milk and a large coffee latte with oat milk. I received hot drinks in large cups, but when I opened the cups, they were only half full. I was scammed.

Not only were the staff helpful but super fun. Was conversing with them as a group from point of said to picking up my cup. Fantastic customer service and obviously great coffee.

I ordered a muffin and caramel frappie I waited in that que "caramel latte for zoe" (it was also in a latte cup.) was shouted on several occasions not frappie. Apparently they said a customer must of taken my order when I pointed this fact out "well they said they made you a frappie" guy who made my order said "I shouted it atop my lungs" yet I was in that que and the only thing shouted was a latte in a latte cup. Imagine not taking responsibility and blaming customers for your error. They actually said "do you still want a refund" when they tried to state this. Even if this was true which is hard to believe as I stood in that que and listened for my order. Why you not checking names before letting them take the drinks that's the point in me giving you a name in the first place!

It was my first time having a Starbucks coffee, I loved it as much as I did the ambience. The cashier was not genuinely polite and seemed a little impatient with me even though I asked about just one product. I hope the service will be better next time.

Excellent roast chicken, sage stuffing and cranberry sandwich for under a fiver. Choice of breads and the sandwich was absolutely stuffed with proper roast chicken. Lots of other sandwich/salad options, very limited seating but this wasn’t an issue for me. Would recommend!

Fantastic eatery, the best place to grab a quick lunch with a huge freshly made sandwich, excellent espresso coffee and cake for under a tenner! Thank you to the lovely ladies who work here. The window seating is a final bonus where you can watch the world go by outside.

I walked past this morning and out of the corner of my eye I noticed what turn out to be your smoked mackerel salad topped with quartered hard boiled egg. After 100 yds I turned round and walked back and I am so glad I did! Absolute first class smiley service and the mackerel salad was utterly delicious. But I was blown away by the taste of the pork sausage roll, with a hint of mustard, truly a marriage made in heaven, astonishingly delicious! The only downside was if I had known how lovely the sausage roll turned out to be I would have bought several for later. Well done to you all and I’ll be back on my next visit to Queens street.

The food was delicious but the service was very subpar. We came 20 min before closing and got a few items from them: sandwiches, salads, cakes which, you’d think, would be particularly appreciated by a business at the end of their working day at 2:30PM - but that seemingly didn’t deserve a smile or warm service. Don’t think we’ll be back!

Delicious food and great service. Catered for 50 people for a birthday party. All of my guests commented on how great the food was. We were provided with a selection of platters so all I had to do was arrange it on a table. Would recommend and use again

Food was very good, I ordered a salad granary cob which was cheese, red onion chutney and leaves cob and a latte which was really nice. My dad and brother had chicken and stuffing soft white roll and you get plenty of filling which they really enjoyed. Clean area and the salad bowls looked really nice. Would be great if there were tables and chairs outside as there were only two stools inside because it's a small place. Would have liked to have sat nearby to eat it. Each roll was under £4 which was great Would visit again

A lovely place. I just have 1 criticism. The high chair you have for babies is unsuitable. My baby wasn't strapped in properly and the strap was broke. You definitely need new highchairs

Very disappointed, we stopped here after shopping. Ordered 2 breakfasts and tea. After waiting 30 mins, no sign of food. Asked a waitress who said should be out in 5 mins, they had been busy with food today. 45 mins, still no food and people who had ordered after us were getting theirs. This time went in and asked, to be told our order was next. 1 hour of waiting and another trip inside, to now be told the kitchen hadn't even had our order and tried to say we didn't order food!!!!

I had a great full English breakfast here (03.05.25) but it took 35 minutes to come. I think that was a long time to wait for a cooked breakfast.

The Lemon tree is a great cafe had regular breakfast was all served hot and quick. The staff are the most friendly I have met just a great pleace you have got yo try it even if only for a coffee and cake

With a lady that had chips that were obviously cooked in old oil ,can I recommend you change your oil more frequently

Two awful attempts at a flat white. The first was a large cup of almost solid foam, so thick that a stirrer stood up in it, almost no liquid. When I asked for a replacement coffee, a got another large paper cup of super-heated froth with bitter coffee in the bottom. Sadly both went in the bin. Definitely not barista coffee. Definitely not worth the price. Just awful. Just don’t !

Just ordered two decaf cappuccinos and watched the bossy lady on the machine add a decent amount of hot water into the recipe, she was trying to do it discreetly, not sure why, but at almost £5 a coffee nobody wants a weak and watery one!! Stop It!!

Unbelievable rude staff pretending to be connaisseur. They clearly never been in a country where they know what ☕️is. Staff member gave rude and not customer friendly comments. Shocked by the attitude.

Lady with short hair doing the night shift is lovely, fast and makes good coffee. But the prices are ridiculous.

Despite a long queue of very rude and entitled customers, the ladies on this shift (Sunday) did an excellent job despite being belittled constantly and made a great coffee, hats off to them

Lovely little cafe I popped in for bite to eat for brekkie . First thing I saw was the front counter with a wide range of freshly made salads etc which is always a great sign . I went for a breakfast cob in which I had bacon sausage and hash brown . Now this is what I call a breakfast cob with proper q quality sausages and bacon coupled with a monster hash brown . I think this was only a few quid as the bacon and hash brown were extra can’t remember exactly but it wasn’t breaking the bank and you couldn’t complain with the generous portions you was getting . If your staying in derby id suggest skip of the hotel breakfast and come here . The staff were also very pleasant and the food came out fairly quick and the great thing there’s plenty of seating inside and out For more food content follow me on socials @bigchefeats

A lovely little cafe I had to wait for my car to be sorted and worked a a way for 4 hours in here. The ladies were very polite and helpful, the bacon butty was lush and and they kept me hydrated. Deffo recommend

I work at Huws Gray & so we don't visit the shop but Sara comes in everyday in her van with a welcoming smile & is really lovely although she's a bugger for making me buy more hahaha. She is accommodating & always tries to get us stuff we want which can be reserved daily! Overall I would recommend to try if she pops into a neighbourhood near you! I have to firstly say that the cobs are really lovely and always fresh. However… each and every time I’ve gone in I’ve been made to feel unwelcome, there’s no music - this may sound odd, but when no one even says hello and it’s you with two or three staff members you feel very much out of place, the last time I visited I waited for a good 5 minutes with others that had already been served, I was not even greeted. They were clearly very busy, but had they taken the time to ask me all wanted was something that was on display not a cob that needed to be made. Made to order sandwich. Very tasty, didn't skimp on any of the fillings. A choice of size cob, which was a nice surprise. Wish I had a Mustards Cob Shop near me, I'd never be away from the place. The staff are lovely and happy to serve you, nothings too much trouble

Great breakfast, bacon, beans, tomatoes, mushrooms. Friendly welcome, good selection on menu. Keep an eye out for it as it's a small door and you'd miss it. Near the Mazda garage so convenient when waiting for a repair on the car. Scrambled eggs were delicious, light and fluffy. I think they have a reputation for home made scotch eggs judging by the news paper article on the wall.

Simply the best, we called in yesterday and got a couple of take out cobs, delicious, so tasty, a real little gem of a shop, with lovely service. Give it a visit!

Great value for money Big Eats Breakfast , After one of these you wont need to eat again until well into the afternoon. You can take away or there is a small counter with stools where you can eat inside.

Overall we do visit this Costa Coffee location frequently and the Chai latte never disappoints. Service is good but the level of cleanliness needs to be improved. Food bits over the floor in the sitting area and some of the tables had used cups etc on them, which would benefit from clearing away quickly.

Ordered a Costa on the app as I always do and clicked the no cream and marshmallows (as I always do) but as I went to pick up the coffee the barista (a woman with brown hair) said “there was no note about cream so I added it - baring in mind it was a coffee with oat milk - so I replied saying I did click no cream and she just stands looking at me, so I say I can just take it off myself I guess, but as I say this she just turns around and ignores me to go serve the other customer. Rude and unhelpful. I couldn’t drink it as there wasn’t anything to take the cream off and I’m dairy free. Made me feel so unwelcome and uncared for that I just walked out - not sure what her name was but it was a Thursday morning at 8am and she had brown hair. Horrible service and rude woman. Also over priced for a cold coffee.

Maria at Costa Coffee provides exceptional service with a smile that brightens your day. Despite being the sole staff member managing the entire shop, her friendliness and efficiency never waver. Busy small Costa in a large shopping complex with free parking. It is the only shop in the complex, that I found, with a toilet to use. Coffee and eats are nice and priced reasonably. The Baristas produced a really nice cup of Skinny Latte. Nice place to catch up with friends, they do not chase you out of the premises

Incredible Mediterranean breakfast and coffee, they altered it perfectly to make it vegan. Quality ingredients, roomy aesthetic cafe. Lovely staff and they welcomed my cat (on lead) in too.

Found this cafe last summer and wow the food is amazing , extremely reasonable and the owners are fantastic I have visited here so many times now and took lots of different friends and they all say the same, Highly Recommend and it's dog friendly and open 7 days a week.

My new favourite breakfast spot. Service is brilliant. Service with a smile and swapped the one item I don't like for one I do. For anyone who thinks vegetarian food is boring and leaves you hungry, try the Mediterranean Brunch. A plate brimful of flavours. As filling as a full English but tastier and healthier.

What a great cafè/take away! Lovely, friendly staff, spotlessly clean and delicious, reasonably priced food. No long waiting times even though they were busy. The tables were spacious enough to actually eat your food without feeling cramped as is usual in a lot of little cafès. There is quite a lot of choice on the menu too. With meals to suit everyone, including vegetarian and vegan, which is a refreshing factor in these little cafès. The vegan breakfast was DELICIOUS! and not overpriced, as is usually the case. I will definitely return and would 100% recommend anyone to try this lovely place out.

This is my favourite cafe. Me and my partner have been visiting here every Thursday for over two years. We always look forward to sitting down together, talking about our upcoming day and seeing if any new cakes have been added to the wall of fame. It has become part of our little weekly routine. The people who work here are brilliant. They are always so welcoming and friendly. The food is so good that I typically refer to Thursdays as 'oatcake day'. Great place to start your day if you are in the area!

I'll start with the good things. It was very clean, the coffee was good and the staff were friendly. I ordered the Big Buttery Breakfast at £8.25. I only got 2 sausages, each cut into thirds. In hindsight, that was fine because the quality of the sausage was poor, they were among the worst I've ever had. They were pasty and didn't taste great either. There weren't any redeeming qualities. The bacon wasn't great either, too salty and quite tough. My eggs were reasonable but not amazing, again I've had much better eggs. On reflection though, I'd probably say my eggs were poor, in comparison to what I've had at other places. I didn't eat the beans as they were salty and didn't taste good. Beans (and tinned tomatoes) should be in separate dishes for the customer to pour on the breakfast. I ordered hash browns as I omitted mushrooms. The hash browns were pale and very flaky. The tinned tomatoes were tasty though and I much prefer tinned tomatoes on a breakfast. The toast looked good, crisp and well cooked, but oddly it was floppy. A disappointing breakfast. I've had much better for not much more money. Increase the price of the breakfasts so better ingredients can be used. Would I come here again? For breakfast, no. But the cobs and cakes look good. Would I recommend here? Not for breakfast.

Food was absolutely delicious and just what I needed to set me up for the day. Very affordable prices and portion size is excellent. Exactly the kind of greasy spoon I remember from when I was younger. Not much seating so be prepared to takeaway if it's busy.

I visited Derby and found The Buttery, just another cafe? No, the cafe fare for sit down is predominately breakfast orientated, great quality, very good value, although full english is typically priced at £11, everything else like baps was nearer the £5/6 mark, fot a giant bap anyway. We had oat cakes which they flexed with veg options but the do veggie too. We took a salad box for take away, oh my goodness, what value and the varity, it was tuna, iceberg, onion, pepper, jalapeno, a boiled egg and more. £6:50 what tremendous value. People are lovely, they clearly own tge business and will look after you. Takeaway breakfast items flowed too, its got a strong reputation. If i lived here, it would be a traditional bfast favourite. All the best.

Had a great experience at Chaiiwala. The food was absolutely delicious full of rich, magical traditional flavours and cooked to perfection..... My first visit ☕😍had a pistachio latte. Very nice. Large cafe with modern decor. Only one toilet which was in use but was ok. Not eaten here but did call back later for a cup of 🍵.may visit next time I'm in Derby.

Lovely atmosphere and the decor is wonderful and relaxing. I had a big breakfast and The food was amazing and cooked to perfection the price is reasonable and affordable. They catered to my needs no sausage extra bacon and a well done egg. They had a variety of fresh cakes and the coffee and hot chocolate were delicious. I will be back again. Again wonderful service and friendly staff with a smile.
