Had Sunday lunch which in general was ok but had the share platter,meat was on the small size but veg was good and Yorkshire pudding was ok. Preparation area is right close to the dining area so the staff were quite noisy laughing and joking,a bit of a distraction. Decor was quite nice and serving staff were good.Will try again.

Ordered 2 old fashioned. Menu says they are with Woodford Reserve. But I watched the barman substitute JD for the real Woodford. Quite disappointing as we have been here before and they are normally quite good.

Great place for a drink and chill! Awesome live music, open mics etc. They always have nice entertainment, drinks are delicious and decently priced, atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable! Great place to start your night!

Amazing, I went to watch Kevin Bradley Music and he was fantastic, the venue was amazing, the staff were brilliant and the atmosphere was unbelievable. I'll 100% be back the next time I'm in Derby.

Undoubtedly one of the tastiest and well presented meals I have had in a while. From starter to dessert the chef's obvious talent and passion shone through every bite. Highly recommended although if you visit during this nice weather we are currently enjoying, be prepared for a dining experience that wouldn't be far from sitting on the equator as the restaurant could definelty binifit from installing air-con. That said, this is Britain so the usual 3 days of sun a year wouldn't make much of a drama.

Adam has literally made our experience amazing! His attention to detail, observing the customer....he knew before we did that we needed another cocktail!! Adam has been brilliant, going above and beyond.....get yourself here for the best cocktails, live music and customer experience 😀

A truly wonderful place, established within some sort of old palace-type building, extremely high ceilings, loads of paintings on the walls. Delicious food with moderately sized portions - after a starter and main still had room for dessert. Service left a bit of mixed feelings. At the beginning it was wonderful, but in the end had to chase them for bill and my missing dessert drink, which was removed from bill as an apology, so overall was 5 stars.

Love that they have maintained the old charm of the building. Service was good. Food was equally good. Spent a lovely evening for dinner with friends. The cocktails were a tad bit too sweet but otherwise overall, really like the place and the food options.

The restaurant has a classy atmosphere and serves a variety of delicious dishes. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Had an amazing evening celebrating my 50th birthday at The Cosy Club.we hired the beautiful Wallace Room. 🎉 Thank you to all the team particularly Alex who did an exceptional job of looking after us throughout the evening he was an an absolute star! The interior is amazing and the food particularly the sharing starters went down a treat! Everyone loved the whole experience it was the perfect evening! 5 stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I recently had a lovely group meal, and overall, it was a positive experience! The drinks were top-quality, and the food didn’t disappoint either, all served in a nice atmosphere. One thing I'd suggest is to make it clearer that the venue is nut-free. Luckily, my son’s birthday cake was safe, but we had a guest with a nut allergy, so advance notice would help. Anyway, I’d definitely recommend it for a good night out!

Had a delicious set lunch, veggie thai curry was great. Very grand setting in the main dining room, Kelsey who served us was lovely and took great care of us.

Turned up on Sunday afternoon as a group of 7. Staff were very friendly and set us up with drinks (the locally brewed ale was amazing and there were plenty of alcohol free options for those of us driving) and got us going on the shuffle board upstairs. We stayed a few hours and had a great time! Edit: returned two weeks later and tried the food. Unfortunately 3/4 of the meals we ordered were wrong and completely inedible. Partners fried “chicken thighs” were a grey mush that looked like wallpaper paste, for example. Had to go elsewhere.

Visited on opening day. Absolutely brilliant edition to the Derby bar scene. High quality beer selection. Order from the app. Loads of screens and tables. Good food selection and full vegan menu. Shuffle board, beer pong and darts to play. I'm 110% going to become a regular!!

Popped in for some food after hearing good things. The food is phenomenal, the staff and chefs were very accommodating as im lactose intolerant and swapped out normal cheese for vegan cheese and made sure every other sauce was vegan as it doesnt contain any milk. Ben the manager despite being busy as it was just after a game, made sure i was accomodated for. Highly recommended!! Edit: After further chatting with the two chefs Isaac and Josh they made sure my allergies were adhered too and were just fantastic!

Staff were lovely, helpful when needed and the drinks were a reasonable price. The atmosphere inside was great. We went as a party of 7 and booked darts for 8pm. We didn't get into the room until 8:20pm and the board they were going to give us was shocking, considering we paid a good amount to come here. Darts only registered half the shots we took and the room was very small for a big booking. Disappointing but hopefully they invest and improve as it definitely has potential.

Had an amazing night for my 40th birthday. The staff were really helpful in arranging everything from food to drinks tab etc. Everyone has a great time. A big shout out to Ed who looked after us and made sure everyone was happy. Would definitely come here again and recommend the place. Also a big thanks to Brandon and Tom who were also on hand to help keep the drinks flowing and managing everything. Cheers guys.

I took my son here for the 2 4 1 offer on main courses. We both had pizzas and they were absolutely superb. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, but the atmosphere was slightly lacking due to it being early on a Monday evening. Would definitely recommend this place.

The portion for the vegan main was very small for the price but food was good, nachos were not very good but the sauces for them and the rice& beans were great. The atmosphere here is incredible and we had a fantastic waitress. Will be going back.

Came for bottomless brunch, (today - end of March 2025), the food was banging, atmosphere was great, not too loud but a few people in which is nice to see in one of Derbys finest bars/eateries Special shoutout to Christie our server who did an absolutely sterling job, despite the place picking up towards the end of our session she sure kept those drinks flowing!! And was also super attentive and happy to help wherever she could, even by offering her recommendations 🫶 Would deffo reccomend revs de cuba Derby for bottomless brunch, by far one of the better brunches I’ve done in Derbados, and the cocktail quality is 11/10 🙌

We hired The Loft room for my daughter’s 21st birthday. The staff were excellent in helping with my inquires and on the day too. Everyone loved the room and a really good atmosphere. We brought our own food. A great place , one which I will use again for other events. I highly recommend this place.

NOT a venue suitable for FAMILY bookings. We were asked to leave the private party for my nephews engagement and escorted out, like criminals, by a bouncer at 10, for having teenagers with us. Well behaved teenagers too. They ruined our family celebration. I won't be going there again.

Went on a Saturday night , the music was brilliant but a little too loud if you wanted to talk. Cocktails are nice and staff lovley.

This place is beautiful to look at and that's why it's such a shame about the management and some of the staff. Everything seemed to be a bother to the manager, our caterers agreed that he wasn't the easiest of people to deal with and he wasn't very helpful at all. One of the staff members kept harassing me for the payment of the room even though I told her that it would be paid by the end of the night, ideally I just wanted to enjoy my anniversary celebrations not be constantly bothered. It seems as though they want the money but can't be bothered to put the effort in to make their service great for customers, as I said The Loft is a lovely room but unfortunately I won't be returning to The Orange Tree for a private hire.

Great little craft bar, friendly knowledgable staff. Good atmosphere plenty of seating and easy to walk to location. Cracking choice of beers on tap and in the fridge.

Small but incredibly well stocked craft beer bar, beer styles including IPA, NEIPA, PA, stout/Imperial stout & lager are all on tap all available in 1/3, 1/2, 2/3 and 1 pint. There's also a large selection of cans and bottles to drink in or take out including limited editions and rare versions with an emphasis on American breweries. Soft drinks, wine and spirits are also available as are hot drinks. A fairly extensive range of toasted and cold sandwiches are also available alongside waffle fries and the standard range of bar snacks. Staff are knowledgeable and friendly, overall a relaxed atmosphere with a noticeable lack of idiots.

Stopped in for a couple of beers on a pub tour of Derby. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Had a couple of sours which were great on a hot day!

Best bar in Derby! Frenchie and Lee are always very welcoming and friendly. Great selection of beers and they make a wonderful Reuben sandwich!

We came to celebrate the sale of our house and decided to come to Derby turtle Bay, we were served by a lovely lady named Britt. She looked after us and made us feel so welcome by chatting to us and having a laugh, I will definitely be coming back and no doubt have the same experience!

I brought my husband who is very picky about quality food for his birthday and it was an absolutely wonderful experience from the food to the service. The BBQ ribs were perfectly crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. Marcus and brandon were so nice and attentive to our needs. The background music was soulful afrobeats which i loved. They also presented a little birthday cake with a candle that was so so adorable on the house for him❤️. Thanks for a wonderful time. We will definitely be back!

We tried bottomless brunch for first time here, the drinks choice is amazing as you get a lot to pick from. The food was really nice we had the jerk chicken 10/10. Cocktails and service was outstanding. Beth took care of us, was really attentive and waiting time wasn't even long as soon as we finished drinks they were ready to take our order. Nice music aswell. We loved it 12/10 ❤️

The service is good as always!💖 They have changed the jerk recipe, I’m pretty sure it used to be thicker! My friend had the 24hr jerk marinated chicken and it definitely was not marinated for 24hrs! :( Also bring back the frozen strawberry daiquiris👹👹 and play some good music! The vibes were not what it used to be!!

Had a really good time at Turtle Bay. Beth and Chan were amazing, super friendly and looked after us the whole night. Drinks came fast, food was great, and she made sure we had everything we needed. The rest of the staff were also really nice and kept the energy up. Great atmosphere overall. Definitely coming back.

We had a great bottomless brunch for a table of 22. We had great food and drinks, definitely recommend the bacon cheeseburger and woo woo drinks. There was great variety for food and drinks and great help from staff as our table had a few allergies. Our server Sam S was a joy and an amazing server. Visited on the 25th May for my friend's birthday. We had the bottomless brunch, which consisted of 2 hours of unlimited cocktails and a choice of brunch dish. Our server was Gina, and she was an absolute diamond. Gina was welcoming, funny, and understood the vibe of our group. The Slug was also celebrating its own birthday, and so patrons were treated to a shot of Tequila Rose topped with cream ( very tasty 😋). 2 members of our group had the plant based breakfast, and they raved about how good it was, always a bonus coming from self-confessed carnivores. My goddaughter had the big breakfast, and I had the cheeseburger. We were all pleased with the food, and the cocktails were on point also. The loss in point for atmosphere was not due to the Slug but more to the fact that we were a lively bunch and the other customers seemed much much tamer...lol. Bottomless brunches should always be a vibe, and Gina our server definitely passed ✔️ we will definitely be going back and look forward to even more great customer service.

Our drinks were always full, and any time we asked for sauces or napkins, they were right there at the table — we never had to wait. Popped in for brunch. Really nice atmosphere and friendly staff. I had the Avocado and Pea & Mint smash on toast with poached eggs and it was absolutely delicious. It arrived really quickly too. Highly recommend.

Don’t recommend at all. Poached egg was served hard, bacon was black and dry. None of the food tasted fresh and was extremely poor quality. The service was poor and unprofessional and I was told “it’s one of those days”. For £60 breakfast it was disappointing.

We recently went to Bear at Iron Gate to check out their new Chicken Parmo Burgers. They were absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection! I was also thrilled to see that they’ve improved their kids’ menu. They now have more choices, including healthier options.

Ate here twice in the last week. Full breakfast with a free coffee before 10am at just under £14 for the quality on offer I found to be good value. The breakfast itself was nice but unfortunately the first egg and bacon was overcooked. To improve I’d suggest offering the choice of egg (boiled, fried or scrambled) take more care not to overcook items and remove the salsa and green leaves, both add nothing but include beans & possibly a black pudding. The staff seemed friendly and welcoming but I was disappointed on my second visit that the server couldn’t look me in the eye when she spoke to me. Overall the breakfast experience was good but with a few relatively minor teaks this could be taken from 4/5 to 5/5. Thanks for a good experience

Our first time in Derby and what a gem to stumble across! Me and my boyfriend were so impressed with the choice of vegan options, and really enjoyed the food we tried, especially the tater tots and banana chocolate cake - can we have the recipe please? ;) Such a lovely atmosphere and friendly staff - we will be back to try more of the yummy options! Food: 10/10. Love the pastry. Croissant is flaky outside but still moist inside. Anyway, the chilli cheese brioche is a must-try! Brioche is soft. You can feel a little kick there but it’s not overpowering. It’s sweet and savoury. Just a sensational dish. Staff members are very friendly. The atmosphere is cosy. This would be a brilliant place for family&friends brunch and for brunch dates!

Lovely cocktails, although some are quite expensive for their size, but worth it if you go during happy hour. Me and my friends love the old arcade machines there and the vibe is very tropical and exotic that I'm surprised they don't serve drinks in coconuts. They also have lots of areas, including an outdoor space, and if u go round the back, it's a lot quieter and more chill.

My friend ordered from here and offered me a bite of his burger. It was ridiculously greasy to the point the paper underneath was giving in. I take a bite to see a section of pink. Do not eat here.

I ordered from here via Deliveroo. The order came early which was great from Deliveroo. However! The wings were so tiny I would of been ashamed giving them to my 6 year old. The worst part though was the fries. They were horrendous in taste. I don't know how they dare even send them. The worst fries I've ever had. All in all a complete disaster of a meal. I hope they contact me to refund me as that was the worst take away I've had.

Came back here after 25 years looking for the old Saddlers pub and instead found this absolute gem! I was so happy to find it’s been turned into this modern, fun bar with amazing drinks and even more amazing staff, Rad made us feel so welcome and was so helpful when we asked questions about the past of the bar.

Walked in at 6pm for wings and a beer. The music was so loud, we walked straight back out again. It was 6pm! Turn the music down! Stop competing with volume and try providing a decent atmosphere.

The worst bottomless brunch we have ever experienced unfortunately. Went as a group of 8 for anniversary celebration / work do. A colleague booked this and explained that it was mine and my wife's anniversary, she was told that they would do something special for us as a surprise, but nothing came of this. When arrived we were not greeted, when noticed we were given a table and not explained how the brunch worked until we asked. The food was poor, 2 meals had to be sent back and 2 of us did not finish our meals. The drinks were even poorer, 2 types of cocktail were undrinkable and had to be left. I would say that the server was a nice woman and did nothing wrong, and the manager did not argue with our complaints and gave us £80 discount between the 8 of us. Ultimately the service did not align with what was expected based on previous reviews, and some improvements must be made.

Went for a brunch with two friends and really enjoyed . The staff seated us straight away and was continuously bringing us out drinks , once the bought out a drink they would ask on the spot what you would next like. Good selection of drinks , food was pretty good , music was a variety and all classics , the bar itself was quiet but was nice as that meant better service than other places rushing around and not giving the time of day. Asthetics were cute too, I would go back for the price and vibe. 😊 Side note- our server Jess was lovely and couldn’t help enough , she even took a picture of us all because she could see us struggling 😂

Really interesting environment. Great place to hangout! The cocktail waitress was very talented and kind. The roof top is nice and has heating lamps. Great mix of both girly drinks and strong rum and whiskey drinks. I was recommended by a local to check the place out and I'm glad I was. I had a great time!

Came here on Saturday for a friend's birthday. Amazing food from Hogbroast, my partner and I had the mexican sharer and it was so tasty and great value for money! All cocktails were great too!

Brilliant place. Decided to take the Mrs here for food as it was a place that served sharing plates. Surprised the ribs were a full rack rather then a few. The loaded fries were huge, we probably ordered too much. Staff were brilliant. And the cocktails were amazing, great variety and something for everyone. One grumble, ribs were over cooked, but the staff asked when taking the food away if there was a problem. The fact that want to learn and put things right for the future is impressive. Brilliant. We will be back

2 4 £12 cocktails. They cocktails were good for the price and lots of places to take pictures in and around the venue. We had to order at the bar, no table service. Not very busy for a Friday evening.

I’m gonna be harsh and give this place 3/5 star for a few reasons. I booked a table via telephone, and when I asked if we could have a table on the terrace, they said there was no need to ask as they would put us there automatically. When we got there, the waiter informed us all tables upstairs were full and we had to sit downstairs for the time being. We were there for at least 1.5 hours before we ourselves went up to check and found a place. The food is a little overpriced for the portion sizes/quality, but the drinks are lovely. Good live music, however it is extremely loud and I found it difficult to converse with anyone (in the end I was getting a headache; another reason we wanted to be on the terrace!). The interior and the terrace are lovely, and we did enjoy the last part of the night. I would give this place another chance; hopefully next time will be better!

Congratulations on one of the best night's out and service I've had. I travel a lot on business (not this year) and have some bad and good places. If you want an amazing night out with amazing friendly staff and great music then please go to this place. If I had a nightclub the staff woman and guy I met tonight would be running it.

I hired Baby M for a birthday party and couldn’t recommend it enough! Not only was the owner Kev so helpful in replying to all of my many questions via Instagram but he was so helpful when going to view the venue and set up the event. The space is the perfect size for an event as it’s big enough for a lot of people but you can really fill the room and create that busy party atmosphere without the awkwardness that big rooms often bring. There is a great cocktail selection that is reasonably priced and the staff are so friendly and understanding. You don’t have to add anything to the room if you don’t want to as they already have a really cool vibe with neon lights and plants around. Not to mention, the DJ they provided was lovely, he was happy to take suggestions but mixed a playlist I pre-made perfectly! Would love to host a party there again or at least go there for a night out, it’s such a great addition to Derby and Sadler gate!

The Flowerpot is one of Derby’s gems. Fantastic live music in an intimate setting, with great sound and atmosphere every single night. The staff are genuinely friendly and welcoming, and the service is always quick despite how busy it gets. A brilliant range of beers on tap, plus good value for money. The crowd is lively but respectful, creating a great vibe whether you’re here for a gig or just a pint. Consistently an excellent night out – easily one of the best venues in Derby. I really hope they’ll consider creating more opportunities for private functions here as I can think of no better place to host a special occasion.

A great value place to stay in Derby. Clean, en-suite rooms. Above a nice pub with a great range of real ales and lovely Nepalese curry during the week.

Location can seem a bit awkward, but it is a nice and quirky little pub. Proper TARDIS, small on the outside, large on the inside. They do have live performances here and there. You can book rooms for meetings and the likes. We went on curry night, which I must say was very good, they had different styles from different countries. Extra spice can be added on if you are looking for more adventure with your taste buds.

This is a review of the pub, not the accommodation. A legend of the real ale scene in Derby, The Flowerpot always delivers a great selection of real ales and craft keg beers so there is something for everyone. It also has a nice outside drinking space at the back of the pub. A must visit venue if you like beer.

Great events - Nice place with lots of atmosphere. Wonderful events and good outdoor area for the summer. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good food and drinks selection, especially for those who like real ale. Nice location just on the edge of town close to everything.

A lovely pub with a deserved strong reputation for great real ale. If you like real beer it has to be on your shortlist to visit.

The wash wasn't that bad even my duvets were still s bit soaking,but the dryer doesn't work efficiently even I had put it on 30 min and high temperature they were still wet..

Most the time they are out of service. Prices are very high too. £11 for the big washer

Done a big wash 18kg duvet double 2 duvet covers it was well under weight they came out dripping wet put then in the drier and still soaking wet after 45 mins or what ever the max time was very disappointed as seen lots of you tubers using them and saying how good they are. Sorry to say they are rubbish

Not good enough & pricey! Used the drier with less than half load of cotton clothes and the they were still not fully dried after 30 min run on full heat.

A great location in Derby with their own customer car park too. Very high standard of decor, spacious, clean and perfectly laid tables. All the staff I spoke to were very helpful and courteous. I had some recommendations when selecting the main meal, even has the heat level was increased to me there, and my favourite herb had a little extra added to the dish too. Staters and mains arrived at the right time apart and were well presented. Incredible taste with everything I ate, even tried lemon rice which was fantastic, highly recommend - my first time trying this. My booking was for 8pm, but believe you could just walk in as there were some empty seats throughout the evening. No complaints whatsoever, I will definitely be returning here for a second visit. 10/10.

First time coming here tonight to celebrate a family members birthday. Place is decorated lovely, such a lovely atmosphere. Staff we're amazing. Soon as you step in there's a lovely warm welcome, offered to take coats and hang them up. Pulling out chairs for us to sit on. They are just lovely and polite. Great drinks menu selection. We celebrated our anniversary at Shalimar Gold and it was such a lovely experience. The staff (Ash + teams) went above and beyond to make the evening special, even surprising us with a complimentary dessert and drinks. A warm welcome and fantastic service by Yas. Lovely surroundings, plenty of tables and a nice menu. Food arrived quickly, was a good size portion and tasted amazing. The flavours were exceptional and there was plenty of food size chicken that was very tender. The Indian dessert was great too, with warm and cold combinations working very well. There's street parking nearby too, so made all for a great experience. Highly recommend, 10/10. I'll certainly visit again.

Probably the best Indian we have had the kindest most down to earth people especially Faz and his friend I forgot his name they did give it to me 🤣there team is great the food was 10/10 they even make me something that wasn't on there menu, there big portions. My partner revered to Islam two year ago and we told them his story and they went completely out there way to give us a generous gift . We will definitely be visiting again soon 🙂

It was stunning from the start. As soon as we stepped foot in this beautiful restaurant, we were greeted with a beautiful welcoming feel. The food was stunning and we licked the plates clean. Also at the end surprisingly we were given free dessert! The whole experience was special and we would definitely come back.

I highly recommend this Indian restaurant !!!!!!! The food is delicious and the atmosphere is authentic. The decor and music truly transport you to this lovely country ❣️ The service is excellent and very helpful. Sunday Birthday meal with friends. Popular place with a buzz, food was very nice. Had a couple of bottles of wine the barman was happy to recommend and gave us tasters. I had the rump steak which was cooked exactly to my liking and was delicious.

I had the pork neck thing, garlic fries and a creme brulee. The pork neck didn't blow me away, it had a bit of a porky taste to it at times which I usually associate with old meat, but it was ok. The fennel sausage stew below it was not bad. The fries were great and I like the creme brulee too, it was good and creamy.

It was my first time here, and will definitely not be my last. Great food, amazing service - 10/10. A special thanks to Millie, Brogan and the rest of the team that took part in making my night super special. Thanks guys🥂

Popped in here for a quick drink on the way to the cricket ground. The smell of home cooked food when we walked in was heavenly. The staff were lovely and very helpful when trying to decide on a drink to have, and the food was absolutely outstanding!! We were recommended this place by some locals who we spoke to and highly recommend this to anyone looking for a good meal with brilliant service.

The dovecote restaurant has a beautiful setting , very nearby to the golf course & it's driving range , plus the open countryside of the Shipley park area , which gives the venue a relaxing & tranquil atmosphere . The dovecote is very tastefully decorated & furnished & has an upmarket feel & it has all the charm of a country house , that you may well see displayed in some county & country inspired magazine publications . The dovecote restaurant has many dinning options ranging from breakfast & dinner options , to afternoon teas & snacks , all with full waiter/ waitress service included in the cost . The staff upon our visit were most polite & helpful with the menu choices , as there is a good selection of dishes , & most of the produce has been locally & ethically sourced to support other local businesses , who really do bring their best to the table & I'm sure should you dine here you will appreciate the local fayre as it is quality fresh produce cooked & presented to a very high standard . The dovecote although quite an upmarket restaurant , is not overly expensive & considering it's beautiful location & the quality of food it is excellent value for money & it really is something special . The dovecote champagne breakfast is particularly good value & the champagne choice that accompanies the meal is of a very good style & should suit most palates , as it has a nice bead of bubbles & a rich cream finish , very nice ! . The dovecote has plenty of parking & special parking for those with mobility issues & are clearly marked nearer to the restaurant which makes things easier , especially for chair or scooter user's . So if you enjoy good food & service in pleasant surroundings then the dovecote restaurant could be your next place visit whilst here in the beautiful countryside of Derbyshire , highly recommended by locals & tourists alike .

Good, polite service and delicious food. Tablecloths on the tables were clean as was everything else. The salmon starter was quite a small portion, but the mains were big portions to balance it out. The veg that came with the Sunday lunches was all delicious. Would highly recommend the restaurant.

We celebrated my birthday with a champagne breakfast at The Dovecote and oh Wow what a breakfast!! The food was excellent, the attention to detail superb. The staff were so friendly and attentive, providing us with top ups of champagne, orange juice and toast. The whole experience was faultless and was such a memorable way to celebrate. ❤️

An amazing champagne breakfast experience at the Dovecote Restaurant and the service was fantastic. We decided to go for something different over a Full English and it did not disappoint. It was the best breakfast we've had for a long time. I did order a mackerel fishcake, with slow roasted tomatoes, but ended up with a fishcake with capers and a poached egg - still amazing. The only negative thing was that the coffee tasted awful and not drinkable, so we left without a hot drink, but with the great food and service, it didn't matter much. If you wanted a latte, cappuccino, etc. there was an extra charge, which I think is extreme given the price per person.

My first time at The Dovecote, Morley Hayes (my friend had been before) and we had a lovely evening. The décor is bright and charming, the staff are all friendly, efficient and welcoming. But the best thing – the FOOD! I had the steak and it was perfectly cooked and succulent with a sublime flavour, the same goes for the trimmings and sides. For afters, I had an rich, smooth panna cotta that was sooo, sooo tasty, served with freshly-baked Madeleines. Every element of the meal was considered and composed, the chef definitely knows and their art and practises it expertly. I would definitely recommend The Dovecote if you want a special evening.

As always with Wetherspoons, you know what you're going to get food-wise and you know it'll be quick! Food was lovely, although maybe a bit more katsu curry sauce due to the sauce and rice ratio being a little off. Beautiful building and friendly staff. We were there for dinner one day and breakfast the next.

After reading the reviews for this pub and the incredible service offered by the managers I just had to take my family and give it a try. Everything I read was true and on this particular visit we were lucky to have Connor on duty. Friendly, welcoming and charming to the point he almost felt like he was part of our family. This particular wetherspoons was like many other we have visited offering food and excellent value for money but Connor really makes sure his staff look after their customers.

We have visited the standing order numerous times and On more than one occasion, I have found the staff to be friendly, polite, and helpful! Holly Harrison especially has always been super efficient, Friendly and courteous. We attended with a Large party Not so long ago and Holly and her staff were more than happy to accommodate us. I had a really enjoyable trip to the standing order on the 1st September 2025. The steak was perfectly seasoned and I could tell it was cooked by a very well trained chef. The duty manager Connor made sure I was looked after and very comfortable. He even offered to feed me my peas. I would recommend this place as I believe this is the only place where they would go above and beyond like that. To top it off, my bud light had the perfect amount of head and was bubbly and delicious. Only slight drawback was seeing the staff frantically shout ‘there’s a CQ someone sign the toilet checks’ whatever that means.

I was served by a manager named Conner. The gentleman gave me excellent service to the point in which I asked for his name to leave a review. He ensured I got top service even for a spoons. Came back and checked on our food and ensured that it was of top quality and all. Would definitely recommend if you’re in the area!

First visit to The Binary in Mickleover I’ve always been keen to try this place as I’m a regular at The Dragon in Willington, which is their sister pub. We came here for an evening meal - a group of 14 for a work leaving do and had to pre-book our food. I went for the Korean chicken burger. When we arrived, we ordered our drinks, but they took quite a while to arrive. In fact, myself and another person ended up waiting nearly an hour for my beer and her cocktail, which my manager eventually had to complain about. It was a bit frustrating, especially as we kept asking about them, and others in our group were already receiving their second drinks. To make matters worse, our food was served before the drinks arrived, however there was an apology when they finally turned up. I had the Korean chicken burger with chips and coleslaw, as did a few others. We all agreed it was quite dry — more like something you’d expect from KFC and the coleslaw portion was very small. A few others in our group had small issues with their meals too, including food not being served hot enough. After the meal, we decided to skip dessert and more drinks to avoid further delays and headed to the pub next door instead. A shame really, but I might give it another try in the future.

Disappointing evening at the Binary. I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience here was really disappointing. The food was unfortunately bland and boring. Also, did not taste fresh. The presentation was so poor, a 3 year old could have done better. The simplest dishes were hard to enjoy. The portions were also on the small size. The staff were polite, but the quality of the food really let the place down. I hope they can improve because the location and atmosphere.

My husband and I recently went for a meal at the Binary and were disappointed with the portion sizes and price of the meal. The menu has changed, instead of ordering a ‘full’ meal e.g. fish and chips, you now have to order the fish, and then add the chips on top. This is the case for all of the meals on there from memory. You can choose to have a small or large portion. I find it quite confusing to be honest, there’s far too much on there and it’s not clear how big or small the portions are! I ordered a small Thai curry and it was literally tiny. I feel the quality of the food is good but for the price you’d expect the portions to be better and to come with sides! Another example is we both ordered deserts which were the eton mess ice cream pots. It was literally one scoop of ice cream in a pot with a small sprinkle of meringue, 2 raspberries and small drizzle of sauce… we paid £9.99 for that! I love the building and the atmosphere in there but I won’t return again because I don’t feel its value for money at all.

Excellent gluten free food available, great choice. I had pork belly with roast vegetables and it was superb. Creme Brulee with raspberry sorbet (home made) was heaven too. Virtually everything is gluten free so coeliacs can relax and enjoy their dining experience. Highly recommended (I say that reluctantly as I'd like to keep it secret 😊 it's that good).

We visited The Diningroom for my partner’s birthday, and it was an absolutely fabulous experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was wonderfully intimate, creating a cosy, relaxed setting that made the evening feel extra special. The food was cooked to perfection. My partner enjoyed scallops to start, followed by beef for the main course. I opted for the baked camembert and plantain for my main — and even as a meat eater, I found these choices a real delight. I wasn’t disappointed in the slightest; the flavours were beautifully balanced and truly memorable. The drinks menu was equally enticing. I tried a few cocktails, with the espresso martini being particularly delicious. I also sampled the mint Baileys — not quite to my taste, but I’m always up for trying something new! All in all, it was a perfect evening: great food, excellent service, and an atmosphere that made it feel like a special occasion. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a place that feels both personal and indulgent

We had an amazing meal tonight for my birthday. I was surprised they took an effort to write a card and it was a very nice gesture making me feel special! The food was WOW! From starter to dessert it was all spot on and very good. The service was also amazing, staff are very accommodating and friendly. The ambiance was also very nice and the food were served very quick, it’s also reasonably priced. We would definitely come back again. I highly recommend this place! 👍🏻👌

Cosy i.e. it's not a big place and it is expensive as the food is not as good as it should be given the prices. Service is good although I'm not sure decanting the wine makes a lot of difference to the end taste given the time span. Coffee M/C was broken so can't comment on quality. Shame they didn't source an alternative!

Booked for the Bottomless Brunch and was not disappointed. Byron was legendary and provided drinks very quickly. His attention to detail was great, even down to background music for us. Amazing! The food was as always phenomenal. Jason and his Hip Hop Food Shop never fail to provide delicious flavours and I will most definitely look forward to eating here again. And last but definitely not least Kamal was great as a host and always accommodating. Thanks to the whole team for a great afternoon!

30/08/2025 we had a girly bottomless brunch. Byron our host was fabulous, regularly (but unobtrusively) checking in, giving recommendations and making sure the drinks were flowing. The atmosphere was a little quiet but that was only down to the fact that there weren’t many in at 3pm but it really started to pick up as we left at 6pm. The only thing I can say in terms of improvement would be making the food choices greater. For a very similar price you can get a bottomless brunch at several places in Derby that have much more choice when it comes to food. That being said, the food we ordered was tasty.

Byron and Hip hop shop food was great. Bottomless Brunch was well worth the money. Byron served us for drink every 15 minutes. Got our money's worth!

Service was slower than expected, but they had a trainee on the cocktails, but food was lovely, staff lovely,cocktails lovely, highly recommend.

We had our wedding breakfast in the Old Bell’s Grand Regency Ballroom and it was just perfect. The staff were helpful and friendly in the run-up and on the day, the food was delicious and with good sized portions, and everything was very relaxed and flexible. The chef was very open to adapting the standard menu options to cater for different dietary requirements, with delicious results! The whole occasion was elegant, well run and great fun. Thank you!

We held a work leaving party at the Old Bell and Friday and Sean and the team made it absolutely perfect. They have a wonderful function room at the back, a great selection of drinks and really helpful staff. They also helped us to raise almost £1k for the local hospital charity. Fantastic place and would highly recommend!

A beautifully restored historic gem in the Cathedral Quarter. The Old Bell blends 17th‑century character with a lively, welcoming atmosphere—perfect for food, drinks, and events. Staff are friendly and efficient, service keeps pace even when it’s busy, and the menus deliver solid value (the Belfry steaks are a highlight). Regular live music, comedy, and themed nights make it a great spot for an evening out, while the Tudor Bar’s ambience is ideal for a relaxed pint. A Derby classic that’s kept its soul while feeling fresh and well cared for.

We went to Derby expecting and looking for historical locations and traditional pubs. From the outside the Bell looked just the thing we were after. Once inside it’s not what you expect. It’s one of those places that pub chains buy then rip the history and soul out of. It’s basically one big room that’s had cheap nasty laminate floor put down. As a result it’s just an echo chamber. Even with just a couple of dozen people in it was unbearably loud. That being said it’s not the fault of the staff who were friendly and efficient. The beer was good also. The owners of this place need to realise historic buildings don’t need to be modernised. If you want an authentic pub with patina and character go to the Dolphin. That’s what we did and spent a few hours and ££££ in there instead.

Nice food, lots of choice for food and drinks. It is a small plates format, which came out as they were ready, so that may not be to everyone’s taste. Prices seemed unusual, some plates being very good value and others not. Liked the gin and tonic menu. Had to go up to the counter to pay which was odd as it was table service.

What a wonderful asset to a small village! Absolutely amazing service from the staff from start of our visit and throughout our time there. Even when the wasps came to take an interest of what we had (and I had a bit of a paddy trying not to get stung), they went above and beyond to guide them out of the restaurant. The food was amazing 3 dips and bread for £16 which was absolutely worth every penny but very filling! The king prawn tacos and whitebait was also immaculate. Will be coming back again very soon! If I could give the experience 10 stars, I would!

A group of us came here on Saturday 8th Feb for my friends birthday. We booked a bottomless brunch for 6pm. We arrived and was promptly seated at the table. The service was amazing from start to finish. We had the pleasure of Lou serving us, who can I say deserves some recognition and a huge shout out! She made sure we always had a drink before we finished each one. Lou was friendly, polite, funny and professional. She was fantastic at remembering who’s drink was who’s and really made our evening, so thank you!! The food was delicious. Our table had a mixture of pizza and burgers and all were top notch. The cocktail menu had plenty of choice and very well made. Overall we had a fantastic night, well worth the price and will definitely be coming again. Thank you again Lou and the hideout team!

This is my second brunch here and I must say the staff are lovely and quick at sorting our drinks. Unfortunately the meals I have picked were no so great. I had the eggs benedict the bacon was black on one side and I couldn't cut it with a knife. On my second visit I picked the avocado on toast (1 slice of toast ) to say there wasn't a lot on the plate. I must said I tried a friend's slice of pizza which was so much better

Alex really looked after us during our bottomless brunch and the only reason we would consider going back is for the great drinks we got served during the bottomless We didn't get great seats and felt like we were in a corridor, and it was too busy to get another table. We arrived on time but first had to wait 10 minutes for a drunken lady to be removed from our table. She then moved to the next table where it appeared like she soiled the seat as the poor girl who sat there afterwards got a wet bum. Before the drunken lady left she came looking for her bag which was ok her back and I got hit over the head with it. Overall food was ok, drinks were very good for bottomless a different table would have been better.

Subject: Disappointing Bottomless Brunch Experience I booked a Bottomless Brunch for 25 people and unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing from the start. We arrived promptly at 14:55 for a 15:00 start, only to find that the table was not ready. There was no clear communication from staff, and we were not seated until 15:30. The first round of drinks did not arrive until 15:40, cutting significantly into our brunch time. When drinks were finally brought over, they were simply dumped at the end of the table, leaving us to distribute them ourselves. Many guests didn’t receive the drinks they had ordered, and we had to clear the tables ourselves as well. We raised our concerns, and while the server did her best, it was clear she had been left to manage the entire group of 25 on her own – a completely unrealistic expectation, especially for a bottomless brunch. Meanwhile, smaller tables were receiving individual attention, which made the contrast even more noticeable. To make matters worse, the food arrived cold. All in all, the service and overall experience fell far below expectations. This was a special gathering that we had looked forward to, and it’s very disappointing that the service let it down so badly. Based on this experience, I will not be returning, nor would I recommend this venue to others.

Do not recommend at all! Spent 187.50 for awful brunch. Lacey was great, she is the only reason they get 2 stars. When we arrived we waited 10 minutes to be seated, one of us then had to wipe seats before sitting as they were dirty. The manager came over to seat us and seemed confused, like they weren't expecting us, when I showed him our confirmation of booking a week prior. He then went and cleaned a table for us, and came by 5 minutes after cleaning it to seat us, then walked away, mind you its a bottomless brunch and it is now 25 minutes past our booking time. After we waiting for about 10 minutes I went to the bar to try and order drinks, the other person at the bar, seemed like another manager, was not the nicest when saying its bottomless brunch your server will sort you, I said we haven't had anyone ask, he asked me who my server was, I said I don't know as we were seated and left. The service the entire time wasn't the nicest, I understand they were busy but by this point I was already a bit annoyed. Sparing more detail throughout the brunch, when I went to pay I was told it was already paid for, at which point I could have left as I thought someone at our table might have paid, but I asked them to check and they realised this wasn't the case. They then almost over charged me and realised the deposit I had paid upon booking wasn't taken off the total bill after me showing them i paid it. This took a while and some checking by multiple people to sort out. It took me about 10 minutes to pay for the brunch, we were already leaving 25 minutes early because we had had enough. I know this might seem rude, I was just annoyed because I had booked a week prior for a birthday, for 5 people, so it cost me £187.50 and the service and and how we were treated was awful. Lacey was a lovely server and clearly tried to make up for it but everyone else was not at all. They did not speak to us very nicely and didnt seem to know what was going on half the time. I will not come back ever.

We had a group of 7 for our bottomless brunch, Keira our server was incredible! She kept our drinks full the whole time and was so friendly!! We had a great time and will definitely be coming back. The cocktails and food were incredible ❤️❤️

What a great venue, the food is excellent. The staff are friendly attentive and come across as very happy being there. The place has a great layout and lots of great features the booths in particular where you can watch a choice of sport on your own TV. Overall very impressed.

This is the second time we have visited in the past week. Midweek lunch was fine and the ploughman’s lunch is a hearty meal. The range of pastries and cakes are tempting too. The Sunday lunch is less spectacular. They don’t scrimp on the portions, there is plenty of meat and veg, but the meat was not as tender as I would have liked and though the cauliflower cheese is nice, the carrots and beans were dull. Overall a 7 out of 10.

A fair size setup in an old stable block on a new build estate worth dedicated parking. The building looks old and tired from the outside but the interior is tidy and well done. Nice looking cakes as you enter. We had veggie breakfast which was well cooked but sausage and egg were uninspiring one of two mushrooms were nice, coffee ok, just. Wouldn't rush back, shame because it's a nice venue.

Lovely local cafe! Staff were really friendly and hospitable. Easy to talk to and accommodating. Not a wide range menu but food that is chosen is well made. Loved the iced coffee from here, tasted refreshing. Atmosphere is lovely; option to sit outside and staff cater very well.

Hackwood Farm is in the middle of a new housing estate so it seems like you're in the wrong place until you see the old farm buildings. There is an outside courtyard (that could do with sprucing up a bit) and a really nicely done interior eating space. Staff were very friendly, service was very good. The full breakfast, and slightly smaller farmer's wife variant were both greeted enthusiastically. The Veggie version was good apart from the two small, very hard veggie sausages (change needed). Cherry scone for afters was excellent and all the cakes on display encouraged a return visit. Coffee was good but at nearly £4 a cup on the pricey side. But overall well worth visiting.

We booked a brunch celebration for a 60th birthday 🥳. The staff were so accommodating from booking through to service. We were a party of 14 walkers having brunch/lunch. The service was excellent for such a big party , the food delicious and well presented - nothing was too much trouble. A big thank you for making our friends celebration special 👌

2 out of the 3 times I have been they have forgot about our food order, and not told us they have forgot it until we have been waiting for an hour. The last time I went we ended up waiting nearly 1.5 hours for our lunch, (and the drinks took 30 mins and they had to take our drinks order again as they forgot it). They told us for the wait they would take us the drinks off the bill. When we went to pay the drinks were still there so i queried, they then had to check this which took another 10 mins to rectify. Their lunch is better than their breakfast, but their service is slow and not attentive. They do make a fuss of my dog though which is nice, and they are kind people so it is a shame.

Nice local pub for a drink with friends. Pretty standard, nothing special. I was shocked when two beers cost me over a tenner! No wonder people don't go to the local anymore. The blond girl behind the bar was expressionless until I forced a smile out of her with some fun conversation.

Called today for carvery with the family after my husband played a darts match here earlier this week. The best carvery we’ve had in years! Everything piping hot and lovely and fresh, it won’t be long before we’re back again! X

Update February 2023: I've been traveling to Derby annually for the past 10 years and I know all its cask ale pubs, and I can now say without fear of contradiction that "The Smithfield" is now THE best cask ale pub in town. Unlike others, it maintains a healthy (around 10 taps) selection of rotating cask ales (within my week in Derby the selection rotated completely). The inside may not be the most stylish, but there's comfortable-enough seating inside, and an eclectic-looking covered beer garden with a view of the river on the back, which makes for nice extra seating when the inside gets too busy (And it does get busy!). Friendly staff, good community atmosphere. An A+ boozer, and more! A little off the beaten track in Derby, but makes for a great stop on a pub tour that includes e.g. the also excellent "Exeter Arms" nearby. Original review: The Smithfield pub in Derby has undergone a much.needed makeover in recent years and was recently voted Derby Camra's Pub of the Year for 2018. While it is a nice, friendly pub, I still wouldn't rate it as highly as my Derby favourite, The Flowerpot or the cozy, nearby Exeter Arms. The Smithfield is located a bit off the beaten track, a little outside the city centre, by the river Derwent (there's limited outside seating): If you don't know it's there, it's unlikely you'd discover by it accidentally. Even after the renovation, the decor isn't much to write home about, but the real ale range is good, and the beers we tried were all kept fresh. Staff are nice, too. Still, something less than meets the eye.

Quite a large place, sports bar with quite a few TVs on the wall. Usual tap beers and a couple of real ales available. Walls decorated with sporting and music items. Staff were friendly and polite, very busy place. Beer was good. Enjoyed my visit.

Fantastic bar. Great if you are a mod or a skin head. Great theme inside and they have brilliant bands too. Definitely recommend if you are in the area and you like a nice pint and music. Great for couples or groups lots to do and to enjoy. They also have dart boards. I highly recommend this fantastic place.

I had a fantastic experience at this pub, which had a disco on at around 5pm that was exciting! The staff were friendly and welcoming, charging points are provided and I had a refreshing cheap VK Black Cherry drink served at the well-presented counter.

Pretty much the perfect chilled pub with loads of indoor and outdoor space. The staff are really lovely and service is quick and friendly. The pizza menu is probably one of the most musically creative things I have seen. The pizzas themselves are ace. There is a pool table, good tunes, loads of seating. All told two very positive thumbs up.

Cracking old pub. Several large rooms and an outside area served by a large bar. A couple of decent guest beers plus the normal stuff. It also has a small stage and DJ booth. The only downside is the music which blares out permanently at a fair volume, rather than background music. So, no hope of a quiet chat with your mates. It just descends into a lot of shouting.

Went their for my husband's retirement party, had a fantastic night in the events venue upstairs, was served by Vivienne and the entire night she was perfect, helped with orders, was a great chat, put me onto some new drinks which I'm excited to come back and enjoy! First visit since my early 20s.... about 18 years ago, it's the same....but different. Visited mid afternoon on a Saturday and it was fairly quiet and relaxed, had a couple of beers and one of the best pizza's I've eaten. Back in the early 2000s it was the place to be for alternative/Indie music and a great night out....I suspect it's the same now. The range of alcoholic drinks is massive with spirits, wine, cask ales, draft beers, cans, bottles and cider alongside drinks offers. Food is available fairly late and is really good, although I did miss the stotties of my younger days. I suspect that it gets extremely busy and a little messy later on (they're open til 2), I also suspect it's absolutely awesome.

Went for my colleagues retirement party and vivienne was so nice and fun to talk to, she picked out drinks for us, chatted and was just fantastic the entire night, i wouldn't have drunk nearly as much as i did if she didnt give me really great recommendations, she provided excellent customer service and I will be returning as a regular because of it, top tier staff member

This is a fantastic little pub. If you want a place relax and chill by yourself it is perfect. It has an alternative/indie crowd that drift in and out so if that is you it is a must. I had pizza and pint deal for £10 and it was one of the best pizzas I have outside of Italy. I will definitely be going back next time I am in Derby. Oh and on Friday nights there is a DJ who plays 90s indie tunes with some 80s new wave/ romantics in the mix as well. I went there by myself and had a great time as atmosphere is friendly, and some good deals at the bar as well. Can't recommend this pub enough. It Made my trip to Derby.

As someone who loves to smoke I can easily say that this is arguably the best one I've ever tried. We also ordered some of the desserts. You could tell they were fresh made and guess what, they were absolutely beautiful. I will be coming regularly to this place for sure! Don't miss out people! 10/10

Stopped by for a coffee and damn – best decision ever. Super smooth, strong but not bitter, just perfect. Vibe was chill, staff super nice. Could’ve stayed all day tbh. If you haven’t been here yet, you’re seriously missing out. I’m 100% coming back.

From just looking at the menu the food seems really basic and overpriced and I do find it difficult to justify spending £9.95 on lunch (with the small portion option) but while the ingredients are simple the portion you get for small is filling and as they say the ingredients truly are fresh and delicious. My favourites were the daal and hot potatoes. The main protein I had, chicken breast, seemed bland at first glance but actually tasted very good. Unfortunately I forgot to take additional pictures below the top layer. I think I'd only get this for lunch on special occasions but I think I would get the better value medium for dinner more often, I can't imagine finishing a medium bowl in one sitting.

Love the buffet lunch, so many healthy options, RIP bread and pasta! ❤️ My favourite is the Salmon and love the hot options including dahls and hot veggies. Meatballs are also fantastic. Home made coleslaw is awesome, as are the beans and couscous, so many options when looking for high protein.

Fantastic value, great tasting lunch Greek themed buffet that is cooked fresh daily with a range of protein options including roast chicken thigh, chicken breast, grilled halloumi, falafel with a wide variety of prepared salads, teriyaki noodles, fresh potato wedges etc. Ample parking outside with clean and well lit interior, outdoor seating options, too. I look forward to returning again soon.

St Patrick’s day shenanigans disaster! This was a disaster! Irish food stalls- was a burger & chips trailer selling ‘Irish’ chips. Staff said we were just told to make it Irish so added Irish in the name. Irish drink stalls- normal bar selling Guinness! Stilt walkers - must’ve walked somewhere else as there was none! Roaming entertainers- also didn’t appear. 3D Photo Booth - wasn’t there either!! Fire eaters- are you ready for it . . . Weren’t there either!! Place was freezing. Most of the crowd left by 7.30 after the gates not actually opening to 2.30! All in all this was a disaster, disappointing & not worth the ticket!

RIPPED OFF & TWO UNHAPPY CUSTOMERS We attended the ‘Fat Tony’ gig at the chocolate factory in April ‘25 with a large number of friends. The event and venue were brilliant, however we paid for a round of drinks and immediately realised we’d overpaid considerably. This raised this with the bar staff who apologised and realised they’d added another customers drinks to my total!!! Apologies were made and we were told that we would be refunded but this make take until the following mid week……not much we could do at the time but accept this response. Unsurprisingly the following week came and went with NO refund! We’ve now messaged Bustler (there is no phone number so contact isn’t readily accessible) and again received no response. We can only make the assumption the staff have conned us. We will report this to the police as such. Disappointed and very annoyed. Be careful and check your bill before paying!!!!

Our daughter Eleanor and her new husband recently held their wedding at this venue. I am slightly traditional so I was a little sceptical how the day would work! But our experience can we summed up in 2 words “Wonderful” & “Amazing”. The staff are unbelievably generous, helpful and hardworking. From the owners to the bar staff all brilliant. The environment is certainly different but so clean! The karaoke, Photo Booth and arcade games were brilliant. The little and big kids loved it. Outside seating and fire pits!! The food truck Patty Freaks we ordered was simply superb! Fresh quality food! Served on time and delicious. I’m reluctant to write reviews good or bad but this establishment deserves to be celebrated. Thank you Chocolate Factory and we will certainly be back to visit the “Bustler nights”!!

If you're familiar with Escape From Freight Island in Manchester, imagine a stripped-down, more affordable version of that – that's what you'll find here. It might lack the bells and whistles of trendier spots, but it gets the job done without breaking the bank. If you're looking for a no-frills venue to host an event or grab a drink with friends, this could be a decent option. All the usual facilities you would expect from this sort of place. Excellent location. Sort of ,out in the countryside but not far from town. Right next door to the natural burial centre. Absolutely amazing service and food. I was served food by Connor at the deck who was so friendly and helpful. The overall experience was great, as a first time customer they made me feel like a regular. Portion sizes were great too. When Faye brought us our drinks she was friendly and so funny. Genuinely couldn’t have had a better experience. Will be coming back!

Had such a great experience here – the carvery was absolutely spot on. Proper comfort food done really well. The real highlight, though, was the staff. Our servers Charlotte and Debbie were just so kind and patient. Extremely helpful without being overbearing. Can't remember when I left a meal really contented. Came across place this place whilst looking for a decent menu for gluten free. And honestly I was not disappointed. From the get go the staff couldn't have been more helpful. First the gluten free menu is one of the best I have seen in a long time, everything from burgers, steaks to chicken, there was starters and even desserts. Once I explained I was both gluten free and dairy free and ordered my food, my starter had some dairy on it the server came to speak to me and altered it to suit my dietary needs. Honestly this is the best place and I will definitely be back.

Now then pal......rolled back the years today with a trip to the oasthouse to see how it's changed over the years and for a spot of lunch! I'll be honest with ya pal the tables and chairs have definitely seen better days and especially where we were seated. The chair I sat in was stained to high heaven and looked like whoever had last frequented it had followed through but luckily it was dry to touch and just badly stained! My knife had what looked like the remnants of someone's Brussel sprout on the end of it but luckily when my food arrived it came with a clean steak knife 🔪 The food and service was lovely and spot on though but it was extremely cold in the place like they are trying to save on heating? 🔥 It was also extremely quiet. Before we left I nipped to spend a penny and wow.......the toilets were in better nick than the restaurant! Surely you refurb the restaurant first before the toilets........not this place pal!

Pretty poor show to be honest - waited an age to get served with no apology. Service was slow took over half an hour for food. The chips had been reheated - and the food was very average - no value for money and will not be eating here again.

A hidden gem for an affordable treat for all the family or quiet moment together. We have come for many years and the staff are always welcoming and efficient. What more could you ask for at breakfast time. Great for Autism as our child can get up and get what they want when they need it. A bit easier eating out for them.

Former Derby brewing pub now under new ownership with a much wider selection of beers but no food. Back to historical name, never too busy it's well worth a boozy afternoon & when it's sunny there's a lovely roof top seating area & terrace. Plenty of seating & a well drilled bar team quickly clearing the bar, too. Recommended

A popular real ale pub with friendly and welcoming staff. A great range of beers including those from the Derby Brewing Company. We also had some of their burgers, which were very tasty and pretty good value. It's also very conveniently located near the city centre

Really good city center bar that manages to retain a local pub feeling. Excellent selection of alcoholic drinks both cask and keg including tap takeovers/brewery showcases, nice range of continental and craft bottles and cans. Food is provided by El Contador and is Mexican street food, it's also absolutely superb. The brisket tacos are probably the best I've ever had and you get 3 per portion which is really good value; however, between 5 and 9 on a Tuesday you get 2 portions for £10... which is outstanding value. The outside area is small but perfectly decent, the roof terrace is good but you can't smoke or vape on it. Staff are all really nice and friendly. The DBC app is a genius idea, all food and drinks are ordered and payed via it, it's fast, efficient and should probably be copied by other places.

The pub is big. They have an outside area too and a terrace upstairs. They have good selection of beers! We had dinner here and the size was reasonable for the price. The bar tender was so nice answering my questions about beers and even offered me to have a taste before I ordered my choice that night. I recommend this place!

Had an amazing experience here yesterday with my partner and two boys. Holly and Charlie were so helpful and friendly. They got games out for my little one to play with and were so attentive the entire time. The food was great (they were amazing at helping with my youngest ones allergies) and the drinks were fab too. I've never known a bottomless brunch to have such amazing food options. My little one had already asked when we can go back! Thank you so much for making my birthday celebrations so enjoyable!! We'll definitely be returning 🥰

Only staying in Derby for the weekend and really wanted somewhere to watch the Football ⚽️ we managed to reserve a table and received fantastic sevice throughout especially from Amanda ( possibly the manager?) If this is what you're looking for, couldn't recommend highly enough. 👌

Came in here last week with some friends, the food was great, the drinks were even better and reasonably priced. The music was good and there was something for everyone which really brought the atmosphere up. the service was fast and speedy and the staff was so welcoming and helpful. would definitely recommend and be returning. Good burgers and good booze. Took a long time to be served although the place was empty, seemed to only have one person on the bar. Bonus for having wireless charging points on thee table though!

I came in yesterday for a bottomless brunch that I won for 2 people for free through there instagram. me and my partner had an amazing time, rose was especially helpful, she made sure we constantly had drinks flowing we never had an empty glass, that our food was out in time which was also amazing, she was extremely respectful and was so polite. we managed to fit in 13 drinks each in the 2 hour space time. There are so many options of drinks and food, and the atmosphere is perfect. We will 100% be returning.

We came for a bottomless brunch on 03/05/25 and Amanda was our server. By far the best service I have ever experienced in a bottomless before, was so attentive and always kept us refilled. Amazing experience, thank you to Amanda!

Pretty poor show yesterday !! Went to watch the tennis and it seemed a chore for them to put it on for us. The place was empty and the atmosphere not great. The staff looked as though they didn’t want to be there. Service slow and with no smile. Ordered burgers and they were served with burnt chips. These were returned - burger was pretty poor too and it wasn’t cheap !! Pretty disappointing.

Always loved this pub but this evening the service was disgraceful. Stood and waited to be served. I don't mind waiting because I saw there was only one lady serving at the bar. We waited patiently whilst she served another customer and delivered their drinks to the table. However, when it was our turn to be served she went straight to a person she clearly knew and served them. Completely disregarding myself and my Dad. I am so disappointed because this has always been my go to pub in Derby.

What a belting little boozer this is. It was rammed packed but with loads of staff on duty. We got there just after football had finished. There were loads of train memorabilia which my pals loved and the choice of ales was great. We stayed in for 2 pints. I was drinking 'Highway to Hell" lovely ale. Dead friendly local people we chatted to and the atmosphere was great. Well done to this place.

Was there for the railway themed pub and it doesn't disappoint. Can get quite busy, drinks were good and sitting outside with a repainted class 37 cab definitely a highlight.

One of my favourite pubs in Derby. Great selection of beers, reasonably priced. An amazing collection of railway memorabilia including A TRAIN! It’s definitely a real ale pub, but I would strongly recommend popping in whatever your tipple.

Brilliant real ale pub. 7 available. Drank Castlerock preservation ale mixed with North Riding barley wine. Absolutely fantastic. Happy Days.

Although i didnt stay in their rooms, I had visited as I was intruiged by the half cut locomotive in their yard and decided to check out the place, the whole place was railway themed, loved it as I am a railfan!, also very friendly staff, would deffo recommend to others!, especially if you like trains!

Lovely friendly pub got family who live near by so we stopped for drinks passing through great atmosphere lovely drinks on offer.

What a fantastic fireworks display. My children and I had an amazing time! It was free to attend and was so much fun!

Last nights free firework display Was absolutely amazing. The landlord Staff and the two Fellas outside taking care of the bonfire and fireworks deserve a massive pat on the back. We were later told that people had been Trying for sometime to put a stop to these events. WHY ? The atmosphere was good and it put a smile on the faces of the sinfin community and people who had travelled from further a field to watch this event. Job very well done. Thank you very much and we hope yoh continue to do this for many years to come. We will definitely be back

Came here for lunch after walking near Staunton Harold reservoir. Lovely calm pub atmosphere, nice for young families, good selection of drinks on draught and a good burger menu. We had the British lamb burger and Texas burger, food was great. As was the service, good recommend a drink and the chef personally asked how was the slaw as he was trying a new recipe, was pleased to tell him it was ace! Highly recommended if in the area

Popped in for a bite to eat and was not disappointed, had the lamb burger which was delicious. The owners were lovely and very chatty and we will most definitely return.

I had the most amazing Sunday lunch with my parents today. Our usual pub was fully booked so we thought we would try here and what an absolute gem of a place it was. The service was fantastic and the food simply gorgeous and very reasonably priced. I cannot fault this place and we will most definitely be back again.

Nice pub! We got there just before 6pm and was able to order our burgers just in time before the kitchen closed at 6pm. They have a good range of burgers all with its little twist. We all ordered different burgers - I had the Italian pizza burger, one had the katsu curry burger, another the Mexican burger and the texas bbq burger they all came with chips and onion rings on the side all for £12.95 🙌🏼 Definitely recommend you going if you are in the area! We were well looked after. Toliets were clean too!

Fantastic food and drink. I’ve never really had wine as an option before at bottomless brunch, but really enjoyed it. Lola was a great server, we had so much fun. Sometimes I find that there is not enough food in bottomless brunch, but for Beyond, they did a side and a pizza included! Lovely.

Food was beautiful but we didn’t get our food until our brunch was nearly finished so by that point hardly anyone was hungry as we was full up on cocktails Not sure what quite went wrong at the start as we left 40 mins with just one drink and hadn’t been asked about food But the manager quickly realised we wasn’t overly happy and he stepped in and took over our table and gave us some shots and an extra half an hour longer Once he took over our table we had a fab time! The drinks was coming at a good rate and the service he provided was fantastic I would definitely come back

We would whole heartedly recommend Belong. We hired the upstairs venue for a birthday party, we added in flatbreads and fries. The chefs were fantastic, so accommodating and friendly and very talented. The food was superb. They were also happy to pop our cake in the fridge and bring it out with plates when we were ready for it. Just a wonderful experience to create a memorable night. A big thank you from all of us.

We booked for the bottomless brunch and decided to go for the upgraded drinks. The service, food and drinks were all fantastic. The restaurant had a nice vibe, relaxed but prompt service, the cocktails kept coming. Will definitely be visiting again, thoroughly enjoyable experience.

I had the most amazing hen do at Belong Bar! Greg and the team were incredible, so attentive and friendly throughout. The tapas and cocktails were absolutely delicious, and the communication when booking the private party was seamless. Couldn’t recommend them enough! Thanks so much for making it a special night.

We hired the whole venue on a Sunday for a surprise 70th birthday, and it couldn’t have gone better! The owner Gregg was super helpful, the staff were friendly, attentive, and really added to the relaxed, fun vibe of the day. I can’t thank them all enough! The food was delicious, and the drinks were great too with plenty of choice. Service was smooth from start to finish, and having the entire space to ourselves made it feel extra special. Would definitely recommend for any celebration!

The food was absolutely delicious. The flatbreads are definitely worth going for. We attended for a bottomless brunch. The cocktails had not much alcohol in them if any they were very disappointing… we then switched to red wine, the first glass was tasty but they then gave us one that tasted like vinegar so we didn’t bother staying for the full 90minutes . Would not recommend going for the bottomless brunch, there are better places that do a bottomless brunch and have actual alcohol in the cocktails 😅
