Didn't think I will get snootiness in this part of the world, or nonsensical inflexibility that one sees in certain establishments in big cities. Ever since I arrived in Italy everyone (justifiably) complains about lack of tourists. So when I ask for half an hour for a quick post concert drink with a close view to the beautiful Duomo, since I am a tourist, I get told that empty tables are for four and I could sit in crowded back area with not much view to anything, leave alone to Duomo. I went to friendly Ai Portici next door instead, where I had salad earlier in the day, and after all this time those tables at the Metropolitan, at the front stayed empty. I could have had a drink, they could have taken the cash, and still had their tables for later, but no. Stupidity and lack of customer care on display.

Excellent, friendly service at a moderate price. Try a gin and tonic, possibly the best you'll have.

Possibly the slowest restaurant I have been to. 4 of us, nobody else in the restaurant save one guy: we waited 1 hour for the starters and the 30 minutes more for the mains, which arrived one after another. The vegetables with the meat were cold (from waiting?). No potatoes though the dish said so. Otherwise tasty enough, risotto was good and the meat tender. But at this speed we would have been better off cooking ourselves.

We were waiting for about 45 minutes to get something to eat. The prices were exceptionally high for medium quality food and small portions. We ended up paying 80 euros for two persons for two mains, an appetizer and a bottle of wine. Last but not least, the card machine took about 10 minutes to work and whoever uses contactless phone payments dont go there because apparently their machine doesnt work contactless and they need either cash or the actual card. The staff was nice and that's why the 2 stars otherwise a restaurant I wouldnt recommend if they dont adjust their prices to the environment and the quality of the food.

Unfortunately it was a disappointing food experience. We get four main dishes and starters and nothing was tasty. We started with brioche with salmon that was awful, as the brioche was super super hard, you couldn't even cut it. Tha main dishes was one worst that the other, no taste, it wasnt fresh, it was too less portion and in general ... a very bad experience. Not recomend at all.

Waited for one hour for starters, another hour for mains, really small portions, potatoes burnt. Cannot recommend.
