We had a great experience at taproot yesterday. I took my daughter's and they loved the food. I had the sticky wings and they were done to perfection! My oldest daughter had a breakfast sandwich and the upbeat had pancakes and bacon. Overall it was delicious. The atmosphere is a little dark and we liked it! Our waitress was also the bartender and she did a fantastic job of being attentive to us! We will definitely be back.

I celebrated my birthday here last year, and all my guests were very happy with both the food and the service. The atmosphere was great, the staff were friendly, and everything went smoothly. A couple of weeks ago, I came back just to enjoy my favorite — and very delicious — couscous salad. However, I had to wait around 10 minutes just to place the order, and then another 20 minutes for the salad to arrive. Today I stopped by again and ordered a juice. First, I had to wait 5 minutes just to be seated (even though the place wasn’t crowded — only 3 other tables). Then I waited 20 (!) minutes for the juice. In total, 25 minutes for just one drink. Luckily, I wasn’t hungry and only wanted to enjoy the juice while reading. I stayed at the table for another 30 minutes, but no one ever came to check on me or bring the bill, so I had to leave the money on the table and walk out. To sum up: the food and drinks are truly delicious, and the place has a beautiful, cozy atmosphere. The staff are kind — but unfortunately, very busy and not attentive.

Great healthy food menu. My Vegan kid was very happy with their meal and smoothie. I was happy with my non-vegan meal (an elk burger) as well, the tots were super yummy, and the draft list was good too :)

I’ve been a fan of Taproot Lounge & Café since a close friend introduced me in 2019. Located in a charming 1860 historic building in downtown Salem, it’s always had great vibes and a solid focus on smoothies, fresh juices, and plant-forward plates. They have full breakfast menu as well. Their Brussels sprouts dish has long been my favorite, I never skip it when I’m in town. So when I met up with a visiting friend yesterday, we headed there right away. Sadly, this visit fell short. The Brussels were bitter, under-seasoned, and oddly undercooked, totally unlike the dish I loved. We also tried the Spicy Bowl, which felt underwhelming. The carrots and snap peas didn’t have the usual vibrant crunch, and the sauce was more of a whisper of spice than a real kick. It just didn’t hit the spot. On the bright side, my smoothie was delicious as always, this place consistently nails those. PARKING NOTICE: Important if you’re visiting after July 10, 2025. Downtown Salem is ending nearly 50 years of free on-street parking. Starting July 10, 2025, you’ll have to pay for street parking in the Downtown Parking District. Parking garages will still be free, but permits will be needed for employees, students, and residents. More details look up the article on Statesman Journal about Parking Change. Taproot is still a place I love and want to keep supporting, but I’m hoping this was just an off day for the kitchen. I’ll definitely return for the smoothies, but maybe I’ll ask if the Brussels are having a good day first.

A new place for us so we asked our server, Sky, what she recommended to drink and to eat and she was spot on! Great food, great local brews and excellent service!! If you find yourself in Salem, this is the place to be!!!

I ate here two days in a row during a conference for work. The service was excellent and the plating is spectacular. The forbidden rice salad with garlic oil was super beautiful and satisfying.highly recommend!

Unfortunately, my wife and I stopped there for breakfast during street construction as we like to support places that are impacted from things like construction. However, it was a huge mistake. Our waitress got preoccupied with a computer issue, and our food sat there by the kitchen for approximately 10 minutes. Another waitress looked at the food sitting there, but never did anything. So the food just sat. When our waitress finally brought the food, I asked for some water, and was told by the waitress that she was too busy, and I should get the water myself. The eggs and bread were cold from sitting there. The potatos were Luke warm at best. My wife and I did not want complain as the waitress was no were to be found after she hurriedly dropped of the food. I understand how sometimes stuff happens, but there was another waitress who could have helped, but chose not too. It was not busy, as there were only 1 other table of 2 people in the restaurant. Just poor service and cold food.

Great chill place to grab a drink with friends or first date, decent mix of free games to play, great drinks and the homemade cookies are fantastic. Mostly a 30s-50s crowds but folk in their 20s that come are pretty laid back so the vibe is never super loud and no drama. Most drinks are like $6 and the mugs/glasses are FULL ❤️‍🔥

This bar is as cozy as a home, mostly because it used to be a house, but also because they kept the furniture. If you and your friends want to have a beer chat and play a board game, this is the place for you. The music is at a good volume, so that conversation can happen. The food was from a food cat outside, but you can bring it in.

It's a cool local spot to enjoy a pint. It's an old converted house with different rooms to sit in. Each room has a unique look with its furniture and art. It was opened by a few photographers, hence the name. Great fire pit out front. Food cart for meals. They do not serve food inside but you can bring the food cart food inside. Counter service.

This is a nice bar, with various seating options. To me, it seems like an old house with a bunch of rooms, each with a different theme and inspiration. You can come here alone, with a friend, or a group of people and you'll be able to enjoy the company and be in a very comfortable environment. While each room has its own vibe, there is an overall feeling of warmth and comfort here, making it a great spot to check out if you visit Salem.

I love this place more with every visit. Bartenders and owners are super cool, the relationship with the food truck outside is very chill. Drinks are reasonably priced and it's very justified to leave good tips.

Such a cute and unique place to relax, have tasty beers, and enjoy some amazing food from the food truck. Slangers burgers are absolutely delicious! So happy we happened upon this gem! Fries and apple bread pudding were wonderful additions to a tasty evening. Can't wait to go back!

Love it here, board games, trivia, a movie theater and great grub along with a lovely selection of brews, cider and more! They also had giant cookies which were great.

The wait was shorter than normal today which was a nice surprise. We've been known to wait over an hour before. But it is definitely worth the wait. Today we tried the Creme Brulee French Toast. Delicious, but could only finish one as they were large. The sausage patty had so much flavor. It had onion and apple mixed in. Took away from the sausage flavor but was still so good! If you haven't tried Word Of Mouth yet, put it on your list.

I had the best experience ever, The service is excellent, really kind and friendly. They make you feel like home. The food is outstanding 👌🏻. The flavors are really unique and perfectly seasoned. They have really good coffee and also more drinks in the menu. The restaurant inside is charming. I Loved the decorations and the style. I can't wait to come back again.

FOOD WAS AMAZING! Bathroom even more amazing LOL We decided to go for the first time to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday and it did not disappoint! The place is really popular which is why we decided to go so there was a bit of a wait time, which we were okay with. I would just keep that in mind when deciding to come in since there’s no way to reserve. Once we did get in our food came in a timely manner served by the friendliest staff! My bf loved it so much we decided to make it our go-to breakfast spot. I did include a video of the bathroom LOL but the bathroom is gorgeous. It really suits the place since the decor has so much personality. A perfect picture opportunity if you like that sort of thing :)

They are soo good, definitely worth the wait. My husband and I come here for our dates. And they always do such a great job. Love them. The waiters are very nice too😊

The portions here are generous—definitely worth the price. I couldn’t even finish my sandwich! Everything was fresh and delicious—the salad was fresh, the bread was soft, and the sandwich was full of flavor. The service was friendly, though the wait for food on the weekend was longer than expected; it took about 30 minutes for our meals to arrive. Still, the atmosphere was pleasant and relaxed—an ideal spot to enjoy brunch with friends.

Our waitress, food and atmosphere was fabulous 👌 Be prepared to take home leftovers as the plates are big. Definitely be back. Expect a wait time as the restaurant is busy and worth the wait ✋️

Came here two days in a row it was so good!! The wild pear pizza and truffled sweet potato fries are both especially delicious. The service and atmosphere were also great! They have great gluten free and vegan options, as well as the choice to sub out most buns/crust for gluten free. Truly a spot for everyone!

Your experience might vary but ours was horrendous. Please read this through before going to this place. For food, we got the steak salad, Spicy Chicken Club sandwich and a bowl of roasted pepper tomato orzo soup. The steak salad was poor. For one, they did not give us enough dressing so we had to ask for more. The steak was incredibly tough and bland, very unpleasant. Adding insult to injury, the chic peas just tasted like cold mush and it was disgusting. And the bread served was cold and dry. That tomato orzo dish was by far the worst part of the meal. The entire dish just tasted like tomato paste plus a SPRINKLE of orzo. There was not a hint of pepper. Worse, it can't even be called a soup because the texture was slightly chunk. When we gave feedback to the waiter, she said and I quote "it's pretty much a paste". A PASTE?! That's not soup...it was like marinara sauce from a can. Bread served was cold and dry like the ones from the salad. If the food wasn't bad enough, we literally waited for 30 minutes after ordering. I really hoped food was going to be worth the wait but was severely disappointed. Waiters were friendly but inattentive. After serving they just stood in a corner and chatted with each other instead of checking if tables needed attention. More to complain, the prices are really high at this place. COMPLETELY NOT WORTH THE PRICE. The only thing acceptable at this restaurant was the spicy chicken club sandwich which was actually tasty, though the chips that came with it tasted pretty much just like oil. I was going to give a 2 star because of the sandwich but everything else sucked. This restaurant fails in the three fundamentals of a restaurant: food quality, service and value. Based on the reviews, other dishes may have been good. And service may have been decent on other days. But our experience was really bad. Just don't get that steak salad and orzo soup to save yourself some money and grief.

Fantastic AAA+++ after doing laps downtown during the 10th anniversary of Make Music day I worked up a craving for something fresh and delicious. I searched for something different and decided to stumble into The Wild Pearl. I was warmly greeted and attended to by the lovely Riley at the bar who informed me of the specials and got a hot chocolate started for me. The restaurant was super busy but the staff was handling it super well and all seemed happy and frazzled by it all. I ordered the small caesar salad and I added salmon. It was delicious and came with some baguette and butter and totally hit the spot! Everything was wonderful, the hot chocolate was super yummy and creamy and I got a triple chocolate cake to go as I was full. I'm sitting here wondering why it took me so long to come back in here, it's been about 20 years! It's always fairly busy when I walk by but I will definitely make an effort to come back again soon, there is a reason they have been around for so long. Y'all have a fantastic hard working team, I'll be back again soon, thank you Riley you are a rockstar and they are so lucky to have you! 💚 ☘️ 🌈

Arrived with a party of 6 for a family birthday and table area, which lacked ventilation or fans. Our server was AWOL, while we suffered from dehydration and were not offered water for 15-20 minutes. We had to flag down the server outside to hunt down our server inside for drinks. Ultimately, the food was good. However, it is not exceptional. 😩🥵🎂 Server, Birthday, Dehydration, Food, Drinks.

It's a nice place with good atmosphere. The food was good, but not over-the-top good. I didn't love the French dip or the lobster/shrimp sandwich due to lack of beef/lobster flavors, but their special curry soup is pretty nice. They have a fun happy hour menu, and I'm a big fan of that.

This place is a gem!! Such delicious fresh food and unique combinations. Very friendly and kind service! And such a cute atmosphere. My friend and I just loved it! And they did such a great job of representing the Ironman race there. My friend had the pear, blue cheese and chicken pizza and it was yummy! Great combo of flavors. I had the healthy bowl with all the goodness and the creamy sauce they put in there is everything, wow, so so good!! I would do a picked red pepper verse raw red peppers would be my only swap. We also got the key lime pie to go and it was so worth it, creamy, limey and fresh. They also made healthy yummy to go containers for every athlete post Ironman race. It was so delicious and so nicely done. Best post race meal ever!

We came to Salem to support a friend and her husband during body building state championships at the Salem Convention Center. She suggested we try the restaurant that’s connected to the hotel they’re staying at and to the center. Bentleys. It was around 6:30 on a Saturday night. Not too busy in the dining room yet. There was a 40 top in the other room though. Hostess accommodated us with seating. Our waitress seemed friendly enough. We were her fourth table and I’m not sure if she had the 40 top but saw her and others running stuff to them. I ordered the Alfredo and the Caesar salad. At first, I loved the salad. Once I wrapped my head around it being served in 4 wedges. I got to the last wedge and noticed movement. A worm, larvae, maggot, something dropped out from the end of the salad. Like it had been in the dressing and it crawled its way out. The waitress hadn’t been back to the table since taking the order so I had this worm thing just crawling around my plate and my fork. Less and less appealing. I’m finally able to wave her over. At first, she didn’t see it. But it was literally moving so yeah, you see it. I was offered another salad 😅😂 yeah big fat nope. This was the last wedge. I’d already eaten three of them. Who knows how many of these worms/larvae were in those. I’m pregnant and can’t even eat deli meat. An unknown worm/larvae/parasite I could’ve possibly ingested. She said she told the chef (not the manager) and he said they get fresh lettuce every 2 days and they do rinse it but things happen. She took the salad off the bill and offered free dessert. No manager ever came to the table. This is THEE barest minimum offer for this level. The entrees came. Alfredo was dry and it had a broccoli thing on top I was actually looking forward to trying when I ordered it, but I definitely was not eating anything green from this place. Boxed most of it as I was paying for it and I probably won’t be eating it. Got a chocolate cake free dessert. My four year old loved that. Thank you. So I do not recommend the salad here. Nor have any faith in the management, if they were even told. Ironically the bill was $86… please 86 the worms. Have a video too, can’t upload it here though.

During a recent business trip to Salem, Oregon, I dined at Bentley’s Grill inside the Grand Hotel Salem and had an exceptional experience. We enjoyed a variety of dishes, including skirt steak with fries, French onion soup, margarita pizza, and the pork chop special, all of which were delicious and beautifully presented. The cocktails were all very good and complemented our meals perfectly. The service was great, with attentive and friendly staff. Bentley’s Grill is a fantastic dining option in Salem, and I highly recommend it.

My husband and I went for date night tonight and the food was okay, we were a little disappointed. I got the NY strip and the bordelaise tasted like the wine hadn't been reduced much, if at all, before the other ingredients were added. Beautiful texture, harsh flavor. The steak also mostly tasted like char. I don't usually mind char but it was a bit much. On the plus side, the cook on it was dead on med rare and it was super tender. My husband got the fettuccine and the sauce was really, really oily. Like i couldn't even identify it was a cream sauce it was so oily. The chicken also tasted mostly like char. The best item we got? The truffle puff. Fantastic. 10/10. The bread was perfectly crisp but still pillowy, the sauce was rich and delicious, every element was fantastic.

Good food - tasty, just very overpriced for what you get, particularly portion size. Service was ok, seemed difficult for her to keep rechecking with our larger party, even just for water refills. Was pretty loud so was hard to hold conversations at our table. Again very nice, but just not worth the $100+ check for just 2 people who had 1 cocktail plus our meal.

Food is fresh, yummy and worth trying. Service is standard for Salem. Atmosphere is hit or miss depending on when you go. We went for an early dinner around 4:30/5:00pm and it was pretty empty. Music was terrible and wasn’t fitting. Maybe this is me just being an old lady before my time, but Nickleback was not the right vibe for a steak dinner. Overall the food is good if you’re looking for a freshly made steak dinner.

I swore I wouldn’t review anymore. But they pulled me back in. Our server took very good care of us. The food came promptly and everything was amazing. Decent wine list to pair with the food as well. I had the steak. It was prepared just how I ordered and very flavorful. Would happily recommend at stop here. They are beating Rudy’s as of late.

I’ve been here many years ago and loved it. My husband and I was there for dinner tonight and I had a different experience. The appetizers were awesome. We got the truffle fries and crab cakes. The slaw with the crab cakes was delicious. The service was great. The entrees just weren’t great. It was as if it hadn’t been seasoned or maybe they forgot? We both had chicken dishes. They looked pretty, but we were really disappointed. We maybe had five bites and I just didn’t want it. The chicken was cooked perfectly though. Also, there was a TON of food on the floor under the table and silverware. There was a napkin shoved under the table to keep it from wobbling.

They have a cute little mini golf area outback My daughter and grandkids had fun... I've never eaten here so I can't really say for sure if I like the food but a lot of people looked like they were enjoying it so I'm going to give it three stars

The food was OK had the Chicken & Baby back rib combo chicken was little dry even tho they smothered it in BBQ sauce the ribs were fall off the bone ribs but yet again Taste like it was just dunked in BBQ sauce. Took a bit for our server to refill my ice tea. For the price you pay for this type of food and service it should had been a lot better in my opinion.

Not a fan of this visit and I'll say why, my daughter and I decided to go for a bike ride today and I had ankle surgery pretty much 8 weeks ago so I said let's go for it and rode all the way up to Owens and Commercial. She asked if I wanted coffee and I wasn't in the mood but she got tea at Mama's on the corner and we didn't like any of the food choices so we went across to Best Little Roadhouse because we checked the menu and agreed to share nachos. The first thing the server said to us was oh I'm not sure we're allowed to have other drinks here and then proceeded to have the manager or whoever was in charger come over and berate us both like we're both teenagers. She told us not to come back in with a drink again like it was a crime. She could have gone outside and drank it and come back in. I'm sorry next time I'll go to another place to eat ma'am. I took great offense to this, my daughter was like just be cool. The server dropped a box and the check when we were barely halfway done with our food like they were rushing us out, I could understand if the restaurant was full but it wasn't. Not sure what we did to deserve this kind of treatment but I've been here before with my fiancé and son and not sure if we'll be back after this.

Not impressed. After a very long day of hiking I wanted a really good steak. Google sent me here. The bread was pretty good. The salad was on point. The steak, ordered medium, was past well done. I was tired and tried not to care but it just wasn’t seasoned well enough to eat it well done. I had to send it back. A few minutes later a rare steak was served to replace it. Edible. The waitress agreed that the steak was way too well done but that was the closest thing to an apology. There was no visit from the manager, who should have served the replacement, or discount offered. The savings would have been passed on to the waitress because it was not her fault. I won’t be back.

Wow! Even though I forgot my ID and had to switch tables, I really enjoyed the staff and these amazing flavored wings. I went with the pulled sandwich and forgot to take a picture. It was that delicious!

Beyond Best Happy Hour!! Exceptional food and incredible prices. The best experience so far was Clayton being our server. My entire family said he was the most outstanding top notch server we've ever had. He made us feel important and comfy and is just a superb individual:)!

Really had an enjoyable evening visiting with family in this spacious, open eatery. So many wonderful beers to choose from and they allow you to taste before you pick. Food is of high quality ingredients with an appetizing presentation. Not the fastest turnaround from ordering to eating, but it allowed us time to visit and we appreciated it. The pretzel breadsticks and beer cheese appetizer was most amazing. Our waitress was very attentive. A great place to eat, drink and be merry. Our second visit included a wedge salad, hummus plate appetizer, and the Korean bites plate. All were tasty. We ate outside on their patio feeling the warm summer breeze.

Great place, beautiful inside and out. Great food, liquor choices, and great beer. Gilgamesh is a fantastic brewery. I got the wings this trip. They were perfectly cooked and not breaded. It's a brew pup connected to the brewery. The service is great always. Inside and outdoor covered seating. The 4 stars come from one issue: the bathroom is very handicapped friendly and clean but if you are scent sensitive you will not be able to use the restroom. I'm only moderately sensitive to the scented sprays in restrooms but this one completely overwhelmed me. I had to hold my breath as much as I could and still breath. It made my eyes water. If they change to a much less aggressive/astringent scent I'm sure it would be fine.

We came at 3 PM on a Friday and the place was virtually empty. Which for us was not a bad thing at all since we are not a big fan of crowds, and had no problem with that the environment was very clean and looked really and interesting to say the least, our server was very kind and nice, although had something about her that seemed as though she was annoyed. My wife saw fish and chips on the menu. That’s the reason we decide to come and it turns out it was only salmon fish and chips not a big deal. We had discussed going other places and so I mentioned going somewhere else my wife said no not a big deal. I’ll just get the grilled cheese and the waitress told us they don’t have a grilled cheese and so I insisted let’s just go somewhere else not a big deal it wasn’t being rude. It was just a we, this is what we wanted and they didn’t have it available and not a problem. Nothing against the restaurant, the waitress offered us a kids grilled cheese. Now this is where it gets a bit annoying for me, you don’t have a grilled cheese on the main menu, but you do offer it for children when somebody has a diet restriction or a personal preference And you don’t have that on the menu as an option for them to choose from. It just seemed a bit weird and strange to me. She was very kind about it, and had no problem making it happen. I ordered the steak and fries, which in my opinion for the $22 was a bit smaller of a portion than I would’ve expected. They were out of one of their more popular beers which nothing against them but as a brewery, I would expect them to have a lot more of certain types on tap, especially than popular brands. Overall, the experience was good the waitress was nice and the food was tasty.

Had a lovely evening! The cocktail was fabulous and the steak salad with their Gorgonzola dressing was the best I’ve ever had. Great atmosphere, great service.. Will definitely be back… With friends ;)

We visited on a brewery tour back in 2014 and we have been returning anytime we are in the Salem area ever since! (pics are from several different visits!) Great service and great food! We especially like the outside seating area - nearby grounds have a park-like feeling. The beers are really good. For food, we stick with the burgers and sandwiches - never been disappointed. I would say the only negative is the parking - it is an odd-shaped lot and it can get busy and be hard to find a spot - especially if you drive a bigger vehicle. But it is worth the trouble - can't wait to visit again!

Had a good night. Not overcrowded, and the staff were very friendly. Lots of food to choose from. The burger was great. We also got the Mac and cheese. We tried the fried pickles and pretzels and beer cheese. They were also good, but the pretzels and beer cheese were not worth the price. 14 bucks at the time of this review. You only get two small donat size pretzels and a very small amount of cheese. I hope you have a fun time and enjoy your experience like we did. Happy travels, my fellow Google travelers.

We visited here back in February and I was very excited to try this location. The food and location looked great so figured it was worth a try. It's not near downtown Salem, but that was kind of nice to get away from the tourist area. First, let me say that the food is good. Presentation and taste were both good. The chicken fingers crispy. The fries were golden and had a good seasoning. The salad was fresh. The issue was that the waitress forgot about us. We were seated quickly. From there our drinks arrived promptly. After that, it was 45 minutes until our food arrived. We ended up asking the waitress about our order and they apologized and brought it out in 10 minutes or so. I think that our table was forgotten about. We came early afternoon on a weekday so it wasn't busy, only two or three other tables were seated. Place was fairly empty. Still willing to give them another try to see if a better review is warranted in the future.

This place was really good. We got there about 20 minutes early (had reservations for 5pm) and they seated us immediately with no complaints. The staff was very friendly and very attentive. They got very busy about 530. Our waiter never forgot about us and kept our beverages filled. We ordered chicken skewers with Thai peanut sauce off the happy hour menu and the bruschetta as appetizers. We only had a small wait time for those to come out and while we waited for that we ordered our main course. My fiancé ordered the chicken schnitzel and I had the smoked brisket with polenta. We were not disappointed!

Been there twice this month. Sat at the bar both times. The service from Gregg the bartender, Tommy and the rest of the staff is second to none. The whole team is friendly and caring about the customer. Everything I've eaten there has been top shelf. The lamb, the chicken milanesa, the beet salad, the classic which is their take on beef bourgignon were all amazing. The craft cocktails are perfect. We had a creme brulett cake which was out of this world. Best restaurant in Salem.

Really enjoyed our time here! Hannah was our server and we enjoyed how candid she was. The food was great and we were stoked to show up on a Tuesday (all day happy hour!) so we could try a few more things than we usually would. We'll be back to explore more of the menu, for sure! 😋

My fiance and I went here last night for a special date night and had a fantastic time. Everything was great (she had the scallops and I had a pepperoni pizza). The Pinot Grigio she got with her scallops was fantastic and she absolutely loved her meal. We also got bruschetta and garlic bread, with the bruschetta being a stand out. The biggest highlights were our wonderful waiter Thomas, my mocktail, and dessert. I got a Lyres old fashioned which used non-alcoholic bourbon which was fantastic as I’m very lightweight and not a big fan of the effects of alcohol but love the taste of bourbons and whiskey. The old fashioned was fantastic. Then the biggest highlight was dessert. We ordered the brownie Sunday (already my favorite dessert, and a consistent order everywhere I go) and it was PERFECT. It’s a brownie with toffee, caramel, salt, and vanilla ice cream and it was truly perfect. The flavors of everything was great, the brownie was soft and moist, there was the perfect amount of salt and toffee to where they added flavor but never felt intrusive, it was truly perfect. We will definitely be back if for literally nothing else, another brownie sundae.

I don’t normally leave reviews like this, but I felt like I had to say something because I was genuinely surprised by how underwhelming the food was, especially given the concept and atmosphere. I ordered the Painted Hills brisket, which was described as brisket with ancho chili crème over polenta, topped with crispy onions. What I got looked and tasted more like cheesy mashed potatoes with bland brisket, French’s onions on top, and barbecue sauce drizzled over it. It felt like something a college roommate might throw together—no real depth of flavor, and nothing about it felt intentional. We also ordered the Korean BBQ chicken skewers, which I had high hopes for. I was expecting charred, flavorful, marinated chicken with a rich Thai-style peanut sauce. Instead, it looked like poached chicken breast lightly coated in a very watery, bland sauce, served on a bed of soggy arugula. There was no sear, no real seasoning, and definitely no punch. The garlic bread was actually one of the better parts of the meal, though it had an unexpected spicy kick I wasn’t ready for. Maybe that’s on me, but it still felt odd. We also tried the dolmas with honey and feta. There was an overwhelming amount of feta piled on top and not much flavor overall. I usually enjoy dolmas, and these just didn’t land. The best part of the meal was the wine, and our server was kind and attentive. I appreciated that he offered to take anything back when we said we weren’t loving the food, but we were hungry and tired, so we just ate what we could. My friend finished his brisket plate out of sheer principle, definitely not because he enjoyed it. I left most of mine behind. The server gave us two $10-off coupons (can’t be used in the same visit), which was a nice gesture. I might come back for a glass of wine, but I’m honestly hesitant to try the food again. Overall, the concept of the restaurant is cool, and the vibe had potential, but the execution just didn’t live up to the expectation. I really wanted to like it, but the meal felt disconnected from the menu descriptions and lacking flavor across the board.

Finally got a date night, if you have the ability to splurge then this place is a must! Very nice but laid back at the same time. Romantic feel but also good for groups. No matter the reason it's worth going (but it was a really nice place to go for date night)

First visit, and a very uneven experience. Went for dinner around 5:30 pm on a Wednesday. Parking was pretty easy because downtown was emptying for the day, and we got a good table quickly. Had the best hummus I ever had as part of a free appetizer while ordering. I ordered a marionberry mule and wife got an old fashioned. Both were outstanding. Then things got iffy. My wife ordered a lamb dish, and enjoyed it, though the side asparagus was limp and overcooked. However, I had the chicken schnitzel with lemon caper sauce and it was disappointing all around. The chicken was very tough and difficult to cut through and chew. The schnitzel breading itself was a visibly greasy, and I couldn’t tell if the sauce had separated a bit or if it had soaked up grease from the schnitzel. I also had asparagus as a side in the same condition as my wife’s. Finally it also came with mashed potatoes, but clearly they had been accidentally salted more than once, because while the texture was great, they were almost inedible due to saltiness. I thought it was maybe my tastebuds, and had my wife try, and she definitely agreed they were incredibly over salted. Food quality seemed good, just poor execution. Staff was nice, but unhelpful because they never came back to ask about the food or check on drinks after the meal was served. When we finally got the check our waiter again disappeared, and we finally walked over to the bar to settle up because we had to get on the road. It looked like they had great happy hour specials, so I might go back for that, but I don’t really see going back for a full price meal.

What a wonderful place to socialize and eat some delicious food. The place was slammed, but you would not have known it. The service was fantastic. One of those places where there are many people working and your coffee and water were constantly topped off without feeling like someone is in your space. Our order was taken quickly, and the food was served hot. My husband said it was the best Mac salad he'd ever had. They gave him some to take home. Loved talking to our waitress. I recommend stopping here. There might be a line, but you get coffee while waiting, and it's a short turnaround.

I came here with my friend for breakfast and when we came in we immediately were sat at the bar and watching them make everything made my mouth water. Our waitress Kat was awesome. Very sweet lady, took very good care of us!! Once we ordered we got our food very quickly even tho the place was packed and the cooks were doing what seemed like a million things at once. Not to mention my food was amazing I got the classic French toast with a side of bacon. 10/10!!! The mimosas are good as well and cheaper than any other place I’ve been!! I’m very impressed with this place! The service(from everyone) and the food and the atmosphere!!! Marcus the cook also gave samples of all the gravies to my friend I was with which was awesome of him!

4.5 goes to Acme. Had the Chicken Fried steak and eggs. Everything was perfectly cooked and my requested customized items were handled perfectly. And the biscuit was huge and well made. In fact, everything from the tea to the jelly was fresh and spot on. Well done Acme we will absolutely be back!!

Wonderful staff and warm atmosphere. The dining area is open to the kitchen and there’s outdoor seating area on nice days. There’s quaint waiting area for busy days. We came here for an Easter brunch and it was surprisingly not too busy. We were seated in less than five minutes and we got our food in less than fifteen minutes. I would recommend the lemon ricotta pancakes, they were delicious.

Acme Cafe is a clean establishment with nice enough people, but I came away disappointed. I was a single diner and went to try them for breakfast. Other places in town serve tastier biscuits and gravy, but I realize that's subjective. I've lived in the South, so I'm kinda picky on the dish. Also, I was hoping for a "Friends" kind of vibe but was again disappointed. The service was prompt, no issues. My bill was $29.00 plus 25% tip for breakfast and a 1/2 portion Bloody Mary, and I didn't feel like I received good value for my money.

Breakfast was amazing and service was quick and efficient. They were also very kind. My sasage omlett was really good and loved the hash browns. Hubby had the chicken fried steak and said it was delicious. Definitely would go here again.

I’ve been coming here for over a decade and it never gets old! Tons of vegan options. My favorite is the Cajun Bowl. Healthy, fast, and delicious. My go-to spot for downtown dining. I also love that they have outdoor seating to enjoy the sunshine while I eat. Service is always friendly and it’s great to know I’m supporting a local business!

Visited here in a large group and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals! There were lots of vegetarians, vegans and gluten free eaters, so it was great to have so many options for us all! I had a Cajun bowl which was pretty good - lots of toppings, tasty tempeh and a generous portion (which I couldn't finish). Would recommend, especially if you have dietary requirements.

Yum, yum, yum! Went here today for lunch and had the Screaming Rooster burger (vegan) and it was the best thing I’ve eaten in awhile! So filling and flavorful! Enjoyed the tots with chipotle aioli and a berry lemonade too. Thanks for having such great vegan options. Looking forward to trying more of them!

Go where you are celebrated not tolerated! Venti's is my favorite restaurant in Salem! From quality food and service to great atmospheres on both levels. I dine occasionally there with friends who have nut or gluten allergies and Venti's has always taken special care towards preparing their food. (Psst little side tip is if you want the same amount of tots for takeout as you would get from dine-in, ask for the tots to be in separate container.)

Loved the vegan options and the well-rounded menu. Husbo and I had to look for a long min trying to decide what to get! Salem is a one-night stop on our trip and I'm so glad we stumbled upon this place for our lunch meal here!

I sat at the bar and had a drink and ordered the salmon. The drink i got was really good, it was a lemony tom collins. I was also watching the bartenders work and they were doing some really cool and creative drinks, so certainly would recommend the cocktails here. I also got an order of salmon which was incredible. It was really well cooked and the vegetables that went along side it were also delicious. It has the right amount of sweetness that I like with salmon without overpowering it. Also, it seemed a the servers were having fun, which is nice to see.

The front person is the first impression. To see the person who is taking my order sipping on an iced coffee drink in front of me seemed unprofessional. Then the tone received felt like I was interrupting her day. If eye rolls could speak, hers are very loud. The food was fabulous. The drinks and delivery of meals was efficient. The rest of the staff was personable. Getting boxes to go was arduous. Could improve accessibility. Coaching on approachability would benefit the front employee. I won’t post her photo.

My beautiful wife and I really enjoyed this restaurant so we ended up inviting my whole family! We all loved the food and we had a great waitress "Nikki" she was awesome 👌 I shared the Smokestack Burger and fries with my super hot wife! We enjoyed everything with a side of fig sauce and ended it with a 🌋 Lava cake! Dad had the same as us "Smokestack Burger. My brother had the Ribeye that he enjoyed. My mom had the pizza and she said it was good but it needed more meat. If your in salem this woukd be a great place to try. Thank you Ritters

The name hits you, “house made foods” makes you think you’d be getting top notch quality food. It may be house made however the house needs to improve on things. I literally couldn’t finish my meal, I ate a couple bites of my side Caesar and it had zero flavor so left it so I went to the chicken sandwich and wow….what a disappointment! Couldn’t eat it either, it tasted so off that it left me feeling off. My girlfriend’s sandwich also tasted funky to her so I tried it and I agreed!!! She also ate mine and agreed it was not tasty at all. You have to order at a desk and it clogs up with people then when ordering water they tell you where to get your own. All they do is bring the food to you and pick up plates when done otherwise there is mostly self service in other ways yet they ask for a promoted tip when paying the bill. I don’t mind tipping but when serving yourself in many ways that should be taken in consideration. Environment was really neat and this place has potential. The service was really odd too, sad, we expected much more as it appears to have such potential!

The menu has a good variety of options so there is something for everyone. Skylar was our server and he did great, very kind and attentive. I got a chipotle ranch steak salad and it was excellent. It was a large portion size so next time I would probably split it with someone. I would totally go here again. Parking was a little bit hard to find, but that’s just downtown Salem in general. Just give yourself a bit of extra time to find a spot.

Food was amazing and delicious. Their whiskey wall is easily one of the best in Salem, and if you go on Tuesday - Saturday, you'll be fortunate to meet one of the most knowledgeable whiskey bartender in the city, Matt. Absolute pleasure just hanging out and chit chatting about alcohols we enjoy.

Atmosphere was so cute! The house is adorable and very cozy. Indoor and Outdoor seating available. Service was good. Pretty standard for McMenamins, but much faster than I usually experience at other locations. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was good. Standard pub food, and as always Mcmenamins has something for everyone!

I love McMennamins. For chill pub food and atmosphere, this is a great spot. Love their burgers, bowls, Cajun tots, and hummus platter. I had a great MaiTai on this visit 👌

I brought my daughter here for a girl's lunch and it was quiet and delightful. The lady waiting on us was working her tail off! She was rite in line with timing for everything. She had a wedding party, several others, was on her own (as far as waitresses) and she was doing great! Atmosphere is relaxing. Very house meets pub and back yard. A great spot to just relax and have a drink with friends. Food was solid and healthyish. Drinks (mocktales) are good with playfully ideas. We would come back a gain for sure!

Very busy and they closed early due to understaffing for the evening. But I love the place and the bartender did a good job despite being a bit frazzled by it all. We had a burger and a couple drinks and all in all it was what I've always loved about the place... Warm, welcoming, and tasty with a side of good conversation at a bar well suited to it.

I have a dog and heard that their patio was pet friendly. When we got there we were told, understandably, that outdoor dining wasn't at full service due to heat and we'd have to go in to order. In the middle of deciding. A waiter comes with water and a water dish for my dog and is ready to take our order. He wasn't pushy or rushing and we all felt very comfortable and at home while we ordered and ate. The waiter was beyond what we expected and couldn't have been happier. The atmosphere was nice: backyard picnic with lights strung everywhere. Their burgers and fish were some of the best I've tasted in a while and their bartender's skills are on point; great cocktails. Overall we loved our experience at McMenamins and have decided to make it our official meet up spot. I hope this review gets them as much business as they deserve. The food at this establishment continues to impress, but my recent experience with the bartender fell short. They seemed unengaged and prioritized taking my friends' orders, which resulted in them receiving their meals before I even had the chance to place mine. This was especially disappointing given that I had just paid a $120 tab. While I have always appreciated this location, this service experience has prompted me to consider dining at the other franchise location in the future.

Welcomed right away, freedom to sit where we wanted, waitress was very friendly, patient as we chose our cocktails and food, appetizers came right away and were very tasty. Drinks were good. Atmosphere was great and chill!

This was my first visit to Christo's, and it was wonderful. I attended a jazz night with the Bobby Torres Ensemble. The music was outstanding! We were all dancing in our seats to the Latin beat. Christo's is great place for intimate dining; the atmosphere is cozy and the food was all very good. I ordered a cup of minestone soup and then followed it with the Penne Rustica. Both were excellent. The table next to mine ordered a pizza, another type of pasta entreé and a type of meat calzone which was as big as the dinner plate. I'll have to try that next time. I'll definitely be back!

Extremely Disappointing Experience – Poor Service & Food Quality I wish I could say our latest visit to Christos was enjoyable, but it was by far the worst experience we've ever had at this restaurant. We had a reservation for 6:15 PM, yet we weren’t seated until 6:20 PM. Waiting a few extra minutes wasn’t a huge issue—we assumed they needed time to prepare a table. However, once we were seated, it became clear that plenty of tables were open and were being assigned to other customers shortly after. We ordered promptly since we already knew what we wanted—just a pizza. Yet, it took almost 40 minutes for it to arrive. To make matters worse, people who were seated after us received their pizza before we did. The server overheard our frustration about the wait and took it upon herself to address the issue, informing us that our pizza would be out in about 5 minutes. In reality, it took longer than that. When it finally arrived, it was barely above room temperature, as if it had been sitting out for an extended period rather than served fresh. Hoping for at least some acknowledgment or effort to correct the situation, we voiced our concerns to the server. However, nothing was done to make things right—no offer to remake the pizza, no meaningful apology, just a simple acknowledgment and nothing more. At the end of the meal, I asked my wife if she at least enjoyed the pizza. Her response? “It tasted weird.” I started inspecting her side and found that green onions had been left on the pizza—despite her explicitly requesting they be removed. After this disappointing experience, I reached out to Christos via Facebook Messenger—something I have done in the past with success when addressing previous issues. However, this time, they did not bother to respond. I had hoped they would take one last opportunity to rectify the situation, but their silence speaks volumes. Christos used to be a great place, but unfortunately, that is no longer the case. My wife has been dining here for 15 years, and until now, it was one of her favorite pizza places. After this visit, she no longer wants to return. Since the restaurant refuses to acknowledge or address customer concerns, I am writing this review so others know what to expect. If you value quality food and respectful service, I cannot recommend this restaurant anymore. Edit: After leaving this review Christo's reached out to me to rectify the situation. Which I greatly appreciate. I just wished the server would had done more in the moment.

First time here to have dinner and added the show to see The 4 Kings play , nothing less than spectacular, best venue and food and service we have had for a long time. It was a perfect night of Jazz, R&B music and the pasta was right on point. Keep doing what you are doing Christo's

We have been to this restaurant twice. Both times were a disaster. 1st time the chef quit in the middle of his shift & we never got our dinner. We went there again the other night , ordered food & drinks. Our food finally arrived 2 hours later. The waitress's were sweet, until we questioned the food being late. They need to stick with to go pizza only. Stay out of the restaurant business

We love the pizza and Caesar salad at Cristo’s. It has become our Friday night pizza night spot since moving to Salem. The restaurant is quite loud and we have found that if we request the lounge is a little more bearable. Sometimes the service can be slow, depending on your server. Larger groups make it more difficult so we find it’s better to go with a smaller party.

Each McMenamins is a unique experience. Boon’s Treasury didn’t disappoint. Food was delicious. Quaint environment, staff was friendly & food came out quickly. We really enjoyed our drinks too. Definitely a must visit.

It's been a while since I've been to Boone's. This visit was excellent. Our waitress was friendly, engaging and personable. She recommended the sausage plate and it was a good call. Pro tip: get fries with it and dip them in the cheese sauce. Thank you for the recommendation and the enjoyable afternoon.

Love the patio area, especially with the fire. I really enjoyed the cider flight, all were great and for the price it is a fantastic deal. I wish they had more appetizer options, like a cheese & meat board, brussles, maybe just a veggie plate. We would have had a few more drinks and enjoyed the patio longer had they had more options for appetizers. The patio ambiance is so nice but it would be even better if they had music playing. It would help with the street noise. The sandwich was great, I love turkey and cranberry. 😋 My husband really enjoyed the burger, the patty was a little over cooked though.

You know this is just like most McMenamins I've ever been to. The food is always subpar but the atmosphere is always so interesting and unique. We had a very uninterested server wait on us which was disappointing but also to be expected at most with minerals. She forgot about us a couple of times so we had to ask for more water and forgotten condiments. There is plenty of parking both in a parking lot and on the street.

We decided to stop to get a Diablo sandwich, which was delicious. Best of all, Sarah and Shannel are amazing hosts, dedicated and kind and provide a magnificent service!!! Worth stopping by!

I love the company McMenamins and we even have a passport. My husband I came in for our anniversary. We were told there was seating in the backyard. We went back there to sit and waited for about 20 minutes before anyone came to give us menus. Then they proceeded never come out and serve us or ask for drink orders. We could see them in the window starring out and then came out and then decided to tell us it would be an HOUR for food orders to be completed and to the tables. Mind you we have already spent about a half hour already with nothing to show for it. To say disappointment is a compliment here from today’s visit.

This place is awesome. Madison was so helpful in getting us set up for the Passports, answered all our questions and gave us great service. The atmosphere is comfortable and very interesting. This will be our Home port.

Right up the street from the convention center. You will find this awesome little coffee shop that has some of the most delicious coffee. I have ever had in my life and some of the most tasty cheeseburgers ever. The Fish and Chips look delicious. The French toast looked delicious. Their French fries were perfect and their vegan ranch sauce yummy! Customer service was great. The servers we're awesome food came out fast. The restaurant had a good energy. If you've never been there, I would highly recommend it.I will definitely return when i'm in the area.

Accio, Perfect Morning! If Hermione Granger needed a study spot in Salem, she’d definitely be camped out here with a butterbeer latte (okay, they don’t actually have that, but their locally roasted Salem coffee is basically magic). Just a hop, skip, and a levitation charm from the Grand Hotel, Archive Coffee is what would happen if Diagon Alley opened a coffee shop and decided to do everything right. Rolled in at 7am for their warm scones (WARM! AT 7AM! ❤️) and nearly cried tears of joy. Yesterday’s breakfast burrito adventure was 10/10, but today I went full chaos mode with a chocolate chip rainbow sprinkle scone that looked like a unicorn sneezed on it in the best possible way. No regrets. The coffee? Chef’s kiss Locally roasted right here in Salem, which means it’s fresher than my jokes. We grabbed a bag of their La Bastilla Nicaragua beans to take home because I’m not a quitter and I refuse to drink sad coffee ever again. Fair warning: You will want to move in. I’m currently scouting the corners for available square footage. Muggles and wizards alike: GO HERE. 🪄☕🌈

Such a beautiful coffee shop!! I’ve been wanting to visit for quite some time and finally got the chance to stop by during a work trip. The breakfast burrito was great, and I loved the iced matcha. Highly recommend!

We really enjoyed this place. I had the vegetarian burger and fries, and it was better than expected for a coffee shop restaurant combo. My food rating is mainly for the drinks since this is ultimately a coffee shop and bar first, and they offer very fun and unique drinks matching the vibe. The whole experience was hugely elevated by the fantastic atmosphere!

I went on vacation to Salem in late June and I can’t stop thinking about the Archive Coffee & Bar! Their Warm and Toasty coffee changed my life and I’m contemplating a trip back just to visit the restaurant again. The environment was chill and it had great food. I really enjoyed this place.

We stopped in for a coffee and a mimosa and a small bite to eat. The Brussels sprouts were yummy! Dominic was a great server. He was friendly and efficient too! We love the ambiance and the fall decorations.

Was told to choose 2 sides and didn’t even get 2 sides this is not a good church place spent 99.89 for 3 combos and only got ones side on all of them crazy to me then when tryed to call didn’t wanna answer crazy I drove always across town for this will not return or recommend for anyone to go they will jip you off and they are a church place kinda crazy for the price I spent and no response back and missing food

In an easy to miss location. The service was very good. I had the brisket with corn, seasoned vegetables, and garlic cheesy bread. I enjoyed the sides the most. The portions were generous. The interior is really cool and there is seating outside as well.

We went there for my boyfriend's birthday, we were there at opening. We ordered the boss with 2 meats and 2 sides. The only meats they had was brisket and pulled pork. No chicken or ribs until after 5 pm. They had no hush puppies. The entire meal was at room temperature. The meats were bland. Thank goodness for the barbecue sauce on the table. We had to ask for salt and pepper. We don't plan on going back.

1st time and what a great little place and the food was good and plentiful. Fries and onion rings came out cold 😕 but the other items were excellent!!! Will be return customers 😄

We order to combo of brisket and both were dry and burnt. I know it’s suppose to be a bark but this was horrible. This was the :rd time we’ve eaten here and the last. We paid 49.00 for approximately 2 lbs of brisket that was really inedible. I will just buy a brisket from Costco and cook myself.

Delicious food, fries were a little disappointing as they are just crinkle-cut basic fries. But the barbecue beans are absolutely spectacular. We had the chicken and the brisket, brisket is stunning and the chicken was very tasty but a little dry and we're not big fans of the more vinegary barbecue sauce they had. But that's a personal preference

Been to this place twice and both times I’ve felt unwelcome. I’m pretty new to the area and I don’t want to pull the race card but it has to be that. My husband and sister in law (they’re white I'm a POC) have been to this place and the treatment they receive is very different from how I’ve been treated. I walked in and wasn’t greeted nor acknowledge. Ribs were great, the Mac and cheese- not my favorite but overall their bbq is great.

We had the tasting menue a couple of months ago. Nothing was memorable, service was atrocious with 10 minute waits between courses which really adds up over many courses, sometimes we were told the kitchen messed up and had to recook the course, other times we were just expected to wait. The flavor and quality of the courses were not professional, they were just home cooking. The price led me to expect a tasting menu that would delight my senses, impeccably sourced and prepared, with excellent service. None of my expectations came close to being met.

Really enjoyed my experience at Epilogue! The food was really good, service was excellent and the atmosphere was great. We went for their Wednesday date night special (2 entrees and a bottle of wine for a fixed price). We had short ribs and chicken and waffles and it was absolutely delicious. It was nice having something that I normally wouldn't order. Definitely will be returning!

We were able to be seated right away. The food was beautiful and delicious. The server seemed to hover longer than needed, but I think maybe just an awkwardness? Very kind and helpful though.

I had been wanting to try this place but somehow it never worked out, I finally found out why. We (s.o.) got seated and had waited for a while to get our drink order in. They made high claims with the whiskey sour and failed to make it right with the food. I understand some of the items are gluten free but the flavor just wasnt there with the chicken and waffles. There was also a little hair I found on my rabbit dish ( I didn't get to even bite the leg) I was offered to remake the dish or get a new one so I opted for crab cakes. It was a better choice. The rabbit leg looked dry (we'll never know for sure because I'm not going back to try again) the skin looked very dry and almost a burnt brown. The cakes were at least ok WITH the sauce

We had a fantastic brunch. Quaint and friendly environment with vegan and vegetarian options that are packed full of innovative flavors. I would recommend the chicken and waffles with its southern charm. The chicken had a savory crispiness and a touch of southern sweetness for a great balance.

If I could give them 10 stars, I would. Super friendly staff, hip but still relaxed atmosphere, AND THE FOOD! I had the gluten free chicken and waffles (I'm not GF but they are on the menu that way) and I was absolutely blown away. Hands down the best chicken and waffles I've ever had. I also had the orange is the new black velvet cocktail and it was as tasty as it was pretty to look at. I wish they were closer to my house, I would make Epilogue a regular dining experience!

It was yummy! Have been back many times since my first review. One of the best restaurants in Salem, hands down. We go to Portland often for their food but feel super lucky to have Epilogue here in our little city to enjoy!

Fun place with good beer and a great food selection! Fun to sit outside and play bags with a tasty beverage. The worst part is trying to decide what food to eat because the selections are all really good. I was in town for 5 days, came here 3 times.

My whole family was pleased with the food, it was excellent. Service was great and the atmosphere was very laid back and nice setting. Would definitely come back next time we are in town.

We love this place! So many great food trucks to choose from. The beers are cold, and it’s easy to walk the whole building with all the different choices. After circling the culinary carousel a few times, I landed at Baja Fish-and wow, what a win! As a self-proclaimed, fried shrimp and fries enthusiast, I'm always on the hunt for crispy perfection. Baja Fish delivered just that: piping hot, golden-crunchy shrimp with generous portions and fresh flavor that didn't disappoint. They didn't skip on the condiments either, which I deeply appreciate when diving into a seafood feast. The seating area was inviting-clean, comfy, and thoughtfully arranged. Super nice. Trucks are outside with lots of options and you can come inside and sit where there is AC. There is also a bar inside as well as bathrooms and lots of seating.

This is not my first time at the Yard but my first time at Cadillac Grille this place is amazing the food was prepared fresh and the pictures do not do the food justice... I ordered the Chicken club and thought I had gotten 2 sandwiches... The two ladies working on Thursday the 17th did a great job... I will say if you have not tried this place at the yard you are missing out I am going to try the 1.5lb burger next time I go... My friend had the burger and it was as he said great flavor on the burger..check out the Cadillac Grille next time you are at the yard... Pictures attached...

Super yummy food, on a fairly limited and tight menu. The shrimp poboy was delicious and the special fries with parm and shallots were incredible, the chicken gumbo definitely has a bite to it, and the cheese curds are the best curds we've ever had. The cider came in a nicely frosted glass. The food came quick, the service was good, the price was decent, the vibes when you walk inside are cool and funky, with some fun art, cool colors, and some interesting seating choices too! Would definitely come back when we are in the area as this was a hit for both of us. Oh- and pretty easy parking too!

I don’t if I could describe how good the food was here. The king bread pudding cake was amazing it doesn’t look appealing but tastes amazing almost like a Cinnamon Toast Crunch cake. I had the avocado toast with added bacon that’s was very filling and probably a must add bacon the protein helped. Get the garlic mayo sauce.

Shrimp and grits were stupid good! I told the server it was so good I could have bathed in it! Perfectly cooked shrimp, silky smooth grits and the gravy, slap my knees! Whenever you are ready to open your next location, PLEASE consider expanding to Minneapolis so I don't have to buy a plane ticket to enjoy your food again! Also, I did not need them, but the beignets, dear Lord Almighty! I have not had them so hot and fresh since I was last in New Orleans! We are talking legit Louisiana cuisine people! Well done chef! I will be back the next time I visit for sure!

The atmosphere was amazing! The interior design was so peaceful! The waitress was so nice and handled all her table’s amazing! The food was amazing and was kinda quick! The one thing that could be better was a little so much sauce on our burger but that didn’t stop the food from tasting amazing! I would recommend going! The price was goof for me and what I was looking to pay! I would also say they have very interesting food options for sure got me by surprise! Over all was amazing

Came here with my family to try a new restaurant and to celebrate mine and my boyfriend's birthdays, and I super regret it. It took an hour to be served our food (it was not busy), and we had to get up to find someone to ask for napkins, and then silverware, two separate times because no one was coming to the table. When they finally served us food (without silverware), you would think it would at least be hot after all that time, but it was lukewarm at best. They also kept bringing the wrong soda refills the entire time. We are understanding people, and we wish the staff would have communicated at least ANYTHING to us about why our food was taking so long, or at least apologize to us for that and/or for us having to chase them down for things we needed. Sadly, you could not pay me to come back to this place.

(In the guy from Aladdin’s voice) FRESH FISH!!! We catch em you buy em!! My Dad and I ordered the Haddock fish and chips and my mouth is drooling from the memory. The crunch on the batter is superior and the fish itself was like butter. I used lemon, vinegar and their house tartar sauce. It was all good on the fish, I don’t even like tatter sauce- ew just mayo and pickles- but THEIR tartar sauce doesn’t even compare to traditional sauces. I almost ordered something else but dang, sure glad I spent the extra few dollars on the real deal. Order this dish if you love fish and chips! You will not be disappointed. The vibes were cool once we sat down, felt a little understaffed in the beginning, but we were sat within 10 minutes of arriving. You order from the bar once you’ve decided and they serve it to you. Our waitress was friendly and helpful with ordering. There’s an amazing chill room here for people who want to lounge with their drinks. I imagine they use the space for events also, but I loved all the cozy armchairs. There’s also a pool table and different types of seating available (bar tops/booths/tables/patio). It’s very British themed and fun to visit. My dad and I were calling each other blokes and what not.

You drive out to 19th Street SE, and you're thinking, "What am I doing out here?" Then you find it: Santiam Brewing. It’s a proper, no-bullshit pub tucked away in an unassuming spot—a true gem. Step inside and you’ve crossed the pond. It’s U.K. through and through, right down to the little details, like the Doctor Who Police Box standing guard. It's a place where they honor tradition, but they know how to have a good time—it’s the best spot to catch the Portland Timbers when they’re playing, bringing that proper football fever to Salem. Now, let's talk about the food, specifically the Fish and Chips. This isn't some frozen, sad little fillet. What they put in front of you is a glorious monument to fried seafood. The portion is frankly enormous, but quantity doesn't sacrifice quality. The batter is a perfectly executed dance of thick yet light crunch. The flake of the fish is clean, and it's cooked exactly right. But the secret weapon, the thing that makes you want to climb the walls, is that house-made tartar sauce. It's creamy, zesty, and it is to die for. The people running the joint—the staff—are personable and clearly proud of the work they do. This isn't just another brewpub; it's an anchor, a perfect little slice of Britain dropped into Salem. Get the fish and chips, grab a pint, and settle in. You've found a new home away from home. I ordered the Stout and found it very enjoyable. I also ordered fish and chips which were jusy okay. I would definitely order another stout, but not likely to order the fish and chips again. I really liked Santiam Brewing and will go back, but will try some other dinner item.

Stopped in for a beer and a bite after seeing the sign on the interstate and was quite pleased. Our food came fairly fast and was all very good. Maybe my favorite Shepherds Pie that I’ve ever had actually. Beers were decent but didn’t find anything that I’d seek out specifically.

We were traveling through town several weeks ago and saw this place served fish and chips. After visiting, I can say it has excellent fish and chips, along with a great selection of beers. We brought the whole family, and the staff was very warm and friendly, with one lady in particular who kept engaging with our kids anytime she had a spare moment, which made them feel welcomed and included. The atmosphere was relaxed and calm which made us want to make this a regular establishment we visit anytime we are in town. Kudos for providing great food at a place you want to stay and enjoy the whole experience.

Great location and frequent it often and regularly, and so does my mother and so does my wife, I live regularly close, so I walked up and the bartender was in the smoke air and saw me walk up. Instead, hello, Jimmy and greeted me and then stay if they were closed, I walked in, waited, use the bathroom came out, still no bartender. I left they were still in the smoke. Area, instead, oh, he's right there. The bartender responds with, oh, we just came into p. We're not freaking in here often. Thank you very much.Won't be back

We are travelers, in the area for a couple months. First time in the bartender and patrons were very friendly and welcomed us. All the bartenders are very interactive and treated us like regulars. Cash only is posted at the doors, which I agree is a hassle but I totally understand.

Bartender gave good service and was nice. I took away two stars because they only accept cash and it is NOT posted in a way or in a place that is conspicuous nor is the sign easily readable. I don't usually carry cash and this was my first time there, so I didn't know. Luckily I had some cash on me. If not, I would have had to pay an atm fee which would have made me extremely unhappy. The fact they only take cash needs to be clearly posted in a place that is easily viewable and a clearly readable.

Felt out of place and like we were bothering the bartender by being there and thought about leaving but we were supposed to meet a friend there.So we ordered some food and played VP Ordered and waited and waited and she finally said there had been a mix up and it would be another 30 minutes. We needed to pick up a friend on San Francisco Street that was maybe 8 blocks away and asked her to keep it warm, we would be right back. We returned 20 minutes later with my friend and was told our food had been tossed. We could see the bartenders two friends that she had been laughing with, eating burgers with a smirk.Even though we had told her we would be right back and she had said ok, she refused to remake it and refused to give us our $31 back that we had prepaid for the food. I would really like my money back

Love these people. Just so you know, if you're a strong liberal, you might not appreciate this crowd. I would rate it a 5 instead of a 4 if it were a little bigger. But, it's quite clean, service is great and they have a wonderful outdoor seating area. This area is a nice extension to the bar whether you smoke or not. They are a full-service bar.

Went with my friends to try this new place. I arrived early. Since it was my first time, I did not know what to expect. The person at front was super kind and knowledgeable about the menu helping me order a tasty vegetarian dish. I took all his suggestions and enjoyed the food and drink very much. Good place with a great view and yummy food. Not super crowded which is nice for conversations. Parking lot is kinda small with a Dutch Bros taking up lots of space. Either way, worth checking out.

We were trading plates and tastings everyone's orders. All the food was GREAT!. Zero complaints. You do have to wait a little as the food is fresh and handled by two fantastic chefs!. It was worth the wait. If you have never tried Diniguan, this is the best place to try it. Probably the best Dinuguan I've had since I left the Philippines in 1984. It is not chalky tasting. A perfect blend of flavors and the meat is so tender, you cut it with a spoon. The lechon, Sinigang, Sisig, and desserts were all fantastic!. Salamat Po!

My first time trying Filipino food and I loved it! Marissa and Dennys were kind and explained me about the dish I was getting! Food was fresh, delicious and well prepared. Environment is pleasant and I enjoyed my time. I'll be coming back to try new dishes.

My favorite spot, the best food in town. Everything here is cooked with love and served with the same. Delicious authentic Filipino cuisine and the most lovely family making it. They remember us everytime and make an effort to make it feel like home.

We travelled all the way from North Dakota to visit oregon.. everytime we go to different state we ate at Filipino restaurant, by far this place is the best.. clean and friendly family business run by mom and son.. food was fantastic and delicious, they prep and cook as you order. we had dinuguan, kare2x and lechon kawali, all are to die for.. highly recommend..

Manila Fiesta in Salem, OR, offers truly superb Filipino cuisine! I thoroughly enjoyed the sisig. The pork sinigang hit all the right notes with its comforting, tangy broth. And the pinakbet with tomato sauce was a delightful surprise, bursting with fresh vegetable flavors. Each dish was a testament to authentic Filipino taste. Highly recommend! Family owned business.

The food is good, freshly cooked, and the servings are big. The owners are very warm and welcoming — they make you feel at home and treat you like family. If you’re in the area, it’s a must-try for Filipino food. We’ll definitely visit the place when we visit again!

The fruit in the danish was not fresh considering the price charged. The chocolate had an unusual taste. The cost for two danish and two chocolate items was approximately $17. Customer service was lacking, and the staff member did not exhibit friendliness. Alternatives in the Salem area offer doughnuts at lower prices that are reported to have better taste and fresher fruit.

Super disappointed Spent nearly $30 to pick up 6 donuts that were mostly incorrect and when I went back the response was “sometimes DoorDash has the wrong pictures”!!! Pretty much an “oh well” I am a paying customer… I visit my daughter only a couple times a month as I am busy, she lives in Salem and I work and live in Portland… I live to see her smile… To see the disappointment on her face before I had to rush to Portland was disheartening If there is a problem with DoorDash posting the two can hash it out… I mean for that damn price do the customer right, not leave them fuming over some crappy overpriced regular donuts!!!! My daughter heard about this place on Reddit so we had to go. We were going to be in Salem today so it was perfect timing. I had a Crème brûlée and she had a toasted coconut. This was my first time having a brûlée of any kind. For me it will be a one time thing, not a fan. But the filling was superb. The pastry was moist and almost fluffy. I can't wait to try others. My daughter said hers was the best she has ever had and agreed about the pastry. If you haven't tried it yet it is well worth it.

I wish I could give more than 5 stars. These are the best doughnuts and pastries I have ever eaten. We travel the world and have found the best doughnuts right near home. There is no seating inside, so takeout only

We ordered dozens of donuts and pastries for the morning of our wedding, and our guests could not be more excited. Dough Hook is great because they have a variety of options that consider dietary restrictions. Not only was it super easy to order and pick up, but everything tasted AMAZING! The donuts are super light and fluffy, and the crocronuts are flaky-buttery-crispy perfection! Thank you so much, Dough Hook!!

This place is fantastic! The cruffins are to die for! Last time I went there they were all out, so they offered to put filling in a regular croissant... They were so good! one with a cream filling and one with a cream cheese. I would literally order those again. There is a surprisingly wide variety of pastries and all manner of donuts. I believe they have vegan selections. They also have cold drinks. I did see a sign that said to request about gluten-free options so I'm curious to see what they have in that department next time....

We ordered our donuts ahead and they didn't hold them. Not coming back since I had to drive 20 minutes both ways to pick up. Was going to also treat my coworkers at the office with your donuts, but can't rely on the fact you guys sold them to someone else. It was also the indifference to this happening that reflected poor customer service. No offer or sincere apology. Just giving the feedback your business needs to improve.

A nice indoor/outdoor casual tap house, also serving cocktails. We ordered a house margarita, Loaded nachos, and pulled pork grilled cheese w/fries. We had our wheelchair bound mother with us & it was well suited to her needs. The food was great portions, well presented & tasty. Though we didn’t have beer this trip, they do seem to have a great selection!

This place could be great. They have great menu options and good prices. And the food was pretty descent. But I can't say much for the customer service. There were two girls working behind the bar. When we got there, they didn't acknowledge us at all. Didn't say, "Seat yourself" or anything. We just awkwardly stood there until we sort of just wandered to a table. Still no acknowledgement. After like 5 minutes we figured this was a serve yourself kind of place. So we went to the counter get menus. When we did go back up to order, one girl was really nice and helpful, the other rolled her eyes a lot and seemed annoyed we were even there. I truly don't mind serve yourself places, it would just be nice to know that's what's happening or have someone at least say hi when you walk in. Not just leave people wondering what's going on and also made to feel like it's an annoyance that you're there. It's not difficult to be nice. We definitely won't be back. Too bad, could be a great spot!

Cool place. Nice staff. Solid food. Only time I’ve had an “off” experience is when they are heinously understaffed. But who doesn’t struggle at those times? Also, weird to see children there at night doing karaoke. Feels like more of an adult establishment but I don’t know any of the rules. Absolutely worth a visit.

My wife and I had an amazing time there last night. Their prices are very moderate for the amount of food you get and the beer is top notch. Our server/bartender Adam was amazing and made our date night that much more enjoyable! We will definitely be back!

Pros: The employees are very friendly and the drinks were enjoyable. Cons: Unfortunately was the food wasn't my favorite. The bbq grilled cheese was extremely salty making it a little grainy. The machine and cheese was pretty good. It is very creamy. Though i recommend getting an add-on for it such as the chicken. Verdict: I liked the staff and it's close to home so I will definitely try it again.

Best fried chicken sandwich I’ve had in a very long time. We arrived very late as a pit stop between Eugene and Portland. They had kombucha on tap which was a pleasant surprise. Thanks for treating us so well, even though it was so close to closing time.

Have to mark down their food for being inconsistent. My wife had the fish tacos a while back and gave them a five star. I just got home with take-out for her of the same, and a sore disappointment. Not so much for taste, but REALLY skimpy with any fish...on all three tacos. PS. I had the pulled pork sandwhich, that was very good.

The Best Chicken in downtown Salem. If you're looking for southern comfort food come to The Easy Otter. They have the best fried pickles I've ever had and their chicken sandwiches can't be beat. If you want something that isn't fried, their Mac or slaw is impeccable. The beignets are delicious and they change the options out often, but still keep their classics. The outdoor seating area is so nice and the location is fantastic. Their service is always on point and so fast.

Easy Otter was very welcoming. Great indoor seating. It's an order at the counter kind of place. We sat on the patio because we had our dog. Everyone was super friendly. Lots of seating options and no wait. Food came out fast. Plan extra time for the incredible fluffy beignet. I ordered a variety pack for an extra dollar. Total worth it so you can explore multiple flavors. The seasonal honeybee was my favorite. My canyonero sandwich was the freaking best chicken sandwich of my life! Juicy inside, crispy outside, bacon cooked to perfection and smothered in BBQ. Yum yum yum.

This is a place to go for good Southern food. That said, there'll be a lot of food that's deep fried and heavy on the fat. The smoked salmon chowder tasted fantastic! It was very generous, both in the size of the portion and in the amount of smoked salmon in the chowder. But forget about it if you're on a low-fat diet; it was cooked in heavy cream. Even the coleslaw was literally creamy. Many of the selections on the menu, especially the chicken dishes, were breaded and deep fat fried. So, five stars on the taste; but brace your cardiac arteries for the onslaught of fat!

The Easy Otter was such a cute restaurant and the people definitely had Southern hospitality down. We ordered the fried chicken and waffles, canyonero sandwich, and berry beignets. The fried chicken and waffles was comparable to our favorite from South Carolina and so delicious, and the beignets were incredible. We'll be back for those!

Wow! The beignets here were absolutely incredible. Our favorite was the seasonal pumpkin. The servers were friendly and gave great advice. If you want to try a variety of beignets you can order one of each. Would love to come back to try their savory food some time.

I haven’t had a chance to try the full menu yet, but I have had the beignets — and wow, they are absolutely delicious. Light, fluffy, and addictive. I seriously can’t get enough of them! The vibe at The Easy Otter is great — the staff is super friendly, and the atmosphere is fun and welcoming. I’ve also heard some hilarious and awesome things about the owner, including their love for The Simpsons, which totally shows through the themed decor and little touches around the place. Can’t wait to come back and try more!

Delicious food and great staff. You wait to get seated, you will receive a menu and then order at the counter - then wait for your tasty food! You can taste the passion in their food. This is now one of our favorite restaurants in Salem.

I usually don't like ordering at the counter, but they were wonderful. Our order was taken quickly, and she answered our questions. Once we gave her our order, she made our drinks and handed them to us. Everything was clean and easy to access. The food was delicious and the presentation was beautiful. Our food was brought to the table quickly. Plates were picked up once we were done. It was a nice lunch, and I will definitely go back to sample other dishes.

A great place that is a hybrid of South American and Mexican food! It's the only place I visit in my work uniform. Beers, Pork belly tacos, burritos. It's all delish and wonderfully plated with home made tortillas. Do not pass this place up! Top 3 places to eat in Salem/Keizer.

What a great idea for a brewery! Latino inspired beers and drinks with delicious food! Love a brewery with a beer flight (also have margarita flight). Paloma was refreshing. Taquitos and the tacos were bomb. MUY BUENO!!!

Came to try the chela because I saw it on PBS and ended up going with a stout because I'm a stout drinker. Got the chela in cans to go and a plate of food with my stout. Food and beer was great. Lucky for me Sunday is 4 cans for $10 :)

They need new lines for their taps or a new CO2 system. On tap beer here is gross and flat. Unfortunately Destany's review of this place is just Salem. Bar tenders don't give a shit about you - ever. They never want the cops called even if you're assaulted. I got sucker punched at Big Blue diamond and they pretty much just helped me leave. Not a fan of Salem.

This is your standard bar. It has its good nights and its bad. Service can be very hit and miss. Same goes for the crowd. Over the course of the evening the crowd demographics change pretty wildly, so you might have to find the window for you. They just went through a remodel and the food isn’t half bad. On a popular evening the parking lot is packed. Many people go park at the adult store next door. This place can get packed on a Friday or Saturday.

We had drinks and i had a bacon burger lettuce wrapped with side salad...and smashed onion rings! The bacon was the THICKEST ive ever had...i saved leftovers for two lunches! The smashed onion rings were amazing especially after refrigerating them. Atmosphere was very "fun" it happened to be trivia night ( wed) and we played one round....it eas awesome...there was a great crowd participating...were definitely going back!

Amazing food after the remodel, food quality you wouldn't expect. Staff is amazing. We drive from Albany for lunch sometimes and it is always worth it.

First time I've visited since the remodel! I used to be a regular. Never had such horrible service. Bartender didn't know how to pour drinks, ignored most customers, took 30 minutes to get me a menu when the bar was near empty. Gone all the way downhill when it used to be my favorite dive. Steer clear.

Currently sitting here. 7 people: we ordered at 5:20pm, got half the tables food (most of it cold) by 6:20pm, it is now 6:42pm and 3 people still haven’t gotten their food. Our server has checked in on us once so far (sweet girl). Edit: 6:50pm got some of the rest of the food (cold). We were given the excuse of “there’s so many games going on we’re just so busy”. 6:53pm just boxed it up and left. We should’ve read the other reviews before coming since apparently “we’re just so busy” is used quite a bit.

terrible service, waited 20 minutes just to be seated, no one was waiting ahead of us. took another 10 minutes to get helped with drinks. we ordered our food too at the same time and it took like about an hour, seriously such a huge wait. when our food arrived, my wings of course COLD & FLOODED in sauce, they did not try at all it was disgustingly bad and of course my boyfriends wings were cold. other tables around us seem pretty annoyed too we saw another couple just grab their things and leave after being seated, basically spent 2 hours for us to end up grabbing something else to eat. today’s visit was not it.

Waitress was too focused on other things. Barely checked on us. Was too invested on her family who came to have dinner there. Very happy that she is well supported by family, but for the price of the dining but it left us without necessities. Draft temp was perfect. Fun atmosphere overall. Wings were cold by the time they got to us, portions for appetizers were incredibly small for the price. Tab for the table of 4 was $160 so the service just really needs to pick up to be in line for that kind of price.

Severely understaffed. Took 30 minutes to get beer after our order. Took 1 hour to get our meal. The "one" bar tender and the kitchen was not able to support our server in a timely manner. There were 20 people waiting to be seated at the front when there were many open tables.

Our food came out cold, all of it! Cheese sticks and curds on my sampler were hard and cold. When told about it a staff brought back one of the plates we had just sent back and argued with my husband that “this had just came out of the fryer” my sons sandwich/meal which never came out at any point even before sending the food that did come out back took 1.5 hours we were literally waiting for it to leave. We were charged over $100 even with my son’s sandwich taken off and a small discount for our troubles. We had a bad experience once before and thought we would try once more so we could enjoy our teams game and eat and in case it was just a one off. Well we will never eat there again. The server was gracious but all other staff including the manager were pretty terrible. And the food! Absolutely not acceptable.

I had a fantastic time at Phil's Bar & Grill! The atmosphere is lively and welcoming, with a newly remodeled interior featuring a solid wood bar and freshly painted walls. The pool tables are in great condition, and the lighting around them is perfect for a fun game of pool. The food is delicious, especially the 24 oz ribeye steak and the Philly Cheese Steak. The service is friendly and attentive, making the whole experience enjoyable. The parking is convenient, with ample space available both in the front and back of the building. Whether you're looking to enjoy a few drinks, play a game of pool, or try your hand at some video poker, Phil's Bar & Grill is a great spot to have a good time. Highly recommend!

Pool tables are nice with newer felt and high table lighting. Decent space between tables too. Full bar and lotto. Bar staff seemed a little green and a bit overwhelmed but did the best they could. Had the 8 ball burger which was great. The patty was cooked just right and the bun was super soft, and battered fries were good. It was hot today and the AC was nice and cool.

The food is good, the tables are nice, the bar ladies are super nice. Only issue i find is the parking! Also there's multiple tables and the league on the week day was polite bit the ones there last Saturday made our family leave and us find a new place to go.

They have off the hook pool their it's awesome and the food is great as well and the service the misses that was serving me tonight was just hands down customer service was on point

No idea Jake's was this nice. From the outside it looks like a dive bar. It's a very clean, pool hall with great food. Great beer selection. Bartenders/ servers are very quick constantly moving. Drive by this place all the time and I think dive bar. Which is fun I don't mind but it is not a dive bar. Very well lit. Fun people everywhere playing pool. Lots of laughing going on and a very mixed crowd. Wife and I enjoyed ourselves and had no idea Jake's was this fun. Minors are welcomed. Bring your kids, play some pool have some fun.

Ok reviews are in...the rib eye steak was cooked perfectly. I'm pretty sure it was equivalent to James Tompkins steaks when he cooks em. The Chicken Marsala was great Chicken was tender noodles cooked perfectly. The Loaded Baked Potato was amazing bacon bits, Sour cream and shredded cheese yummy hard to go wrong. However the dish that failed was the Half Rack of Ribs I should not have to use a knife to cut up Ribs the meat should peel apart nicely. It fails! worse Ribs in town belong to Jake's Bar & Grill. Customer service award goes to Steve, he was amazing glad he showed up to work and actually worked and not stay home and collect unemployment. Had a lot of patience with everyone hounding him questions and filling their drink orders I could of tipped more if I didn't pay it forward earlier and pay for someone's gas oh well maybe next time!!

Applied for a job, very positive, pleasant, approach, with an excellent resume. Never heard back from them. Wondering if it was due to weight or age discrimination, or both. Hard to prove. Manager did point out a young, thin, blonde bartender she had working for her. I am more than qualified. Makes no sense. Can't get hired to sweep rocks in this city, even with decades of experience in hospitality bartending, non profit admin., business program director, and high tech. Gotta love Salem.

This was our first time at this location. We ordered two drinks. My wife took the lid off her white chocolate caramel latte and it was only 3/4 full. When we asked for them to fill the drink, the worker said they could only give us more steamed milk to add ourselves. Add on top of that, her drink tasted like there was no flavoring in it. Add on top of that, the workers were soooo sloooooow. This location has a good rating, but our experience was not one that would make us want to return.

Came at 9:15 this morning and waited a total of 25 minutes to order and get drinks. Wow! When I asked the employee, what the issue was, she said they had a car with big order. ( that is why you PARK that car) when I got my two drinks one was dripping down the cup all into my lap because they didn't secure the lid tight enough and overfilled cup with whip cream. They didn’t care to wipe the cup down. The first black rock location that had poor service, presentation and customer service. Definitely need these employees retrained.

Great coffee, not worth the wait times. Unless drive thru is empty it’s a pass for me. Order on the app to save time when you can, but even that line moves slow at times. Edit- got my blended drink.. had plastic chunks in it like something in the blender broke or a utensil was left in the blender. Not coming back here again. Already late for work so can’t even come back and get a new drink. 0/10.

This coffee shop I been going to for awhile now. I really don’t understand why there only one drive threw and one window just for mobile pick up. There no walk up window. I gone through the other window. I think the woman was pretty rude about. Out no where now you guys only have one line. Sometimes it takes awhile. If there only one line they should come out and take orders. I love the coffee one line now is can be a little crazy. Since Salem doesn’t have that many of these coffee shops here.

Drinks are always great, and I have personally never had a problem with the baristas on shift whenever I go through the drive thru. However, y’all need to desperately get some new clear cups for your fuels or at least do a thorough check before handing them out to customers. I had an iced fuel cup split completely in half not too long ago after accidentally hitting it with my hand. Then today, I was handed my drinks, left for my next destination, and when I got there I noticed a split in one of the cups which had caused some of the drink to leak into my cup holders. Not the biggest deal in the world, but kind of a bummer. Even maybe just putting cup sleeves on the clear cups might help with the problem.

It is a drive through only store. No window for walk up even though the Misleading picture here shows a person orders at the walk up window. I ordered ahead and thought I can pick up at the walk up window. Noop, I still have to stuck at the drive through line and wait 20+ minutes for my drink when there are only 3 cars ahead of me.

Making 1 lane for mobile pickup only is going to ruin it for your customers. The speed previously wasn’t top tier. They only have 1 employee working most of the time. As a ex barista for 7 years, going through the lane and being denied because it’s now an only mobile pickup. This will be a big mistake on there end. Make sure you guys are having a runner outside to get orders, nobody will get in a long coffee line if there is now only 1 lane.

I ordered a 32oz Javachip granita. I asked for extra everything, because I noticed that the quality varies so much by location 😿. I wish it was the same quality at all locations. The location in Albany, across from Costo made me a believer ❤️‍🩹.

One of the best coffee places I have ever been to. I have a very sensitive stomach and I was able to finally have a drink here! I might even say that it is better than Dutch Bros and Starbucks.

My partner and I usually love coming to this location specifically for the large Iced Matcha but lately I’ve been paying for ice! 15 bucks, a tip and 3 sips later I have no drink!!! sucks because out of all locations this one get the flavor of match just right but I will not be returning because I don’t want to pay 7+ dollar for a large cup of ice :( even when I ask for light ice

The food that I bought was good, and I would purchase it again. I don't think they prepared my drink order correctly; I couldn't drink my coffee at all. I threw it away because I didn't think it could be improved. I doubt that I will buy coffee from them in the future.

This is my favorite shop to visit. The barista's are so kind, friendly, and they are quick! They get my order right every time. Highly recommend!

Always good and the workers are friendly and they never ask for a tip when you pay so I always tip and it feels like a choice

Every time we come here and be as polite as possible we’re still given attitude by snobby and extremely rude teenage girls and our order is always wrong or over charged. Save your money and time

I'm giving it a 4 out of 5 for a couple reasons. There is an two individuals that work during the day that have been great nothing like over the top up your ass type of waiting on you but definitely attentive to people's needs friendly and seem genuinely like they are there and just good people. However we had one experience in the evening time that my boyfriend could not stand the bartender which I don't disagree we never got service except for we went up there and she served us the most expensive tequila there was after we asked for Jose cuervo and we were told that they don't carry that so we said we'll give us something different she gave us something that was $18 is insane. And then never came and waited on us were checked on us after that. All she seemed to care about was one of the guys sitting on the other side of the bar. So I'm going to give it a 4 out of 5 and be generous because of the day shift people. It's a guy and a really nice girl.

*updated to add most recent visit despite saying we wouldnt be back...* for the first time EVER, i was confronted by the young man that was working on 1st review visit. The staff started out by rudely informing me he had been approached by the owner as a result of my review. He was glaring and confrontational, speaking loud enough for other customers to hear what he was saying. A couple of times I attempted to explain again my perspective regarding the review, he only continued to disrespect me and interrupt me. When informed that another review would be made he replied, "so" and repeated that when i told him i had never been treated this way before at any establishment. 1st review --"Absolutely disgusted with recent changes...very limited food choices even though they are still using their old menu with numerous options that are no longer available. Pool now costs PER GAME, when one perk of coming here was playing pool and paying for it by the hour. New bartenders on a regular basis who seem to be "newbies" in making drinks. The bartender cannot even answer questions as to the changes that are occurring. Any training being done here? We will NOT be back as their are too many cut corners. Sad really, used to enjoy the time here!

If you're an anti-masker, this is the place for you! Not worn at all, or worn down on the neck, by employee and customers alike. Not one was "actively eating or drinking," including two guys playing pool.

Because of the other reviews I will not be coming there to play pool... I refuse to support any establishment that is rude to their customers.

I really don't know why they only serve me 6 out of all the bars in Salem. It's the only bar where they only sell me 6. I would like to invite my friends to come here, but it can't be done like this. We'll go to another bar instead.

A full bar the bartender rated excellent whiskey sour. It is a small bar with six tables and six video poker machines bartenderwas very nice perfect for a neighborhood Hangout

Great little dive bar for locals or visitors. Somewhat sports-ey with games on several televisions including one visible outside on the patio. Parking is a pain, but otherwise great spot with good drinks priced appropriately and an awesome staff!

Kelli's is our favorite neighborhood bar. We always have a great time and the food is delicious!

Came in at like 10:30, ask for a beer and a shot, bar tender was in the phone with ear buds in and gave me the wrong things then left the bar (I didn’t wanna ask for the right shot cause wasting liquor is alcohol abuse imo). The lights are cool and definitely a vibe though. It’s a cute spot if you’re riding through late at night and the prices aren’t bad.

I was meeting up with a friend of mine, I was waiting for about 20 minutes in the smoking section. I was demanded to buy a drink or leave after I told the bartender I was waiting to get a drink until my friend arrived. To say the least it was embarrassing and put me on the spot in front of other customers. I will never be going back to that bar. Terrible.

I came in and they refused me service due I had a back pack computer on.my back coming from work. I have been there severle time before with a backpack. There was customer saying racist statements. The bar tender was aggressive towards me and saying I have to leave. So I left.

I have been going here for the past 8 years. I have seen this place go from super good service, to bad service. Lately I feel like the service is getting better again. As a customer it's nice to walk into a place like this and have the employees acknowledge you, ask if you would like something to drink right away. For a long time that didn't happen. Lately it's been happening and also is backed with a cheerful employee with a smile almost every time. 👍

I didn't have any food but the service was fast and friendly. It was my first time here and it wasn't busy but not completely dead on a Wednesday late night and no drama. Everybody present was chill and it was quiet. There's lottery as well.

This was one of the few places that i frequented for years and then when i was homeless and had lost everything they didn't talk down to me or treat me rudely and treated the same no matter if my hair was dirty and my clothes were terrible. My husband just got a killer business deal and this is definitely one place that will continue to get our business Everytime we go back to Oregon. Thank you for hiring kind souls who never discriminated against us in the hardest times of our lives.

I enjoy the little 'get away spot' Weekday evenings clerk alway up beat and kind. Got drinks, music jukebox, one pool table, and V.P. also some kinda food special going on for quick bite. The place is great for just meeting up convo. & drinks or getting away from the day 2 day grind.

The bartender was really awesome open to ideas I will change this to a five-star review if the owner of this company makes a fully garnished Bloody Mary the works jalapeno banana pepper celery bacon salted rim Tabasco A1 sauce can make $1,000 an extra week offering the best Bloody Mary in town.i live leas than 3 blocks away so i would be here every Thursday night min for that bloody mary so it already pays for its self

Played the lottery machines. Walked out the door with more than I walked in with. Always a good thing. It'd be nice if you could get a cup of ice with your can of soda though.

The people that work there are so nice and not just at one store,at all of them! Pleasant atmosphere and they are always quick to ask what i would like to drink. They also have competitive prices on cigarettes and cheap lighters. Did i mention air condioning!

Went for video poker. Didn't order anything to eat or drink, so I can't give an opinion on that. Video lottery was fun. Well, as fun as it can be, ya know?

My gal and I always look for great craft cider (she can't be convinced to drink beer) so I was stoked when we found this cider spot sharing space with one of the best taco spots in Salem. I can't wait to come and try more!

This is my favourite bar in downtown Salem. Not only does it have incredible people serving wonderful ciders, they have a few non-cider options and are connected to the best taco spot in town, Azul's Tacos. This is a great place to stop by on your way to/from Riverfront Park, and has a lovely outdoor area to sit and sip while you soak in the sun.

I don't usually drink much, but La Familia Cider has so many options, including ciders, beers, as well as cocktails. The many options make it easy for everyone to find something they enjoy. Pair their amazing drinks with some of Azuls tacos in the same building.

My husband and I split a flight of their ciders. La Familia makes their own ciders and then also has guest ciders on tap. As we tried them based on a recommendation from my brother who had tried their guava cider on tap in socal, we chose to get all 5 ciders that La Familia offered this go around. The Manazana was good. It was apple forward, lots of flavor, not too sweet but not too dry. Next up the Guava and the Jaimaica. These two were both our favorites. You could really taste the Guava and the Jaimaica in each one without it being overwhelming or sour. The Tamarindo was OK, neither of us could really taste the Tamarind. I actually thought this was going to be my favorite but while it wasn't bad, it was my least favorite of the flight. Last was their anniversary & Cinco de Mayo special, The Horchata. This is probably the most interesting cider I've ever had in my life and my brain didn't know what to make of it at first. My husband liked it but thought it was a too heavy on the cinnamon. I liked it but it took a few sips for me to decide. It basically tastes like a very cinnamon fwd horchata that got carbonated so it took a little bit to reconcile the two, but once I did, I enjoyed it. If it were a regular offering, which it isn't, I would get it on occasion. All said, the Jaimica and the Guava are probably 2 of the best ciders I've ever had and I would definitely recommend trying this place! They did have cocktails on the menu as well for those that are not cider fans and they share an open floor with Azuls Taco House so I assume you could order tacos there and enjoy your drink with tacos. Very casual atmosphere.

The house ciders were excellent! But the star of the show was the Strawberry puree infused sour. It sounds very odd but I legit couldn't get enough! It's so fresh and smooth and like drinking summer! The gentleman behind the counter was awesome! Dude really seems passionate and in love with his job! It was a joy to talk to him about the wide selection. It was quite a bit too noisy with the entire place being hard surfaces. But guys...the chairs? I saw 2, very thin ladies fit their tush in the tiny space between the side bars...but everyone else was sitting only on the front part of the seat. I tried cramming my tush in the chair and it was painfully comedic when I stood up and the chair came with. I shimmy my way out and the deafening crash of the metal chair on concrete made sure I had the attention of every soul within a mile. Just bow and order another glass of summer. 🍓🥤🪑🍑

Visited this brewery when I was visiting family and it was a very cute spot to hangout. Loved the different ciders they offered and the tacos from Azul were delicious.

They have a large selection of ciders and tacos! Ciders and other taps are great, tacos were more of a hit or miss for me, but with their wide selection you're bound to find one you will truly enjoy.

Place was wonderful. The blonde bartender that works Mondays and Tuesday is amazing. Fast and excellent service.

Brody is one of the best bartenders I have ever been served by. He is very polite and friendly to everyone that comes in. Definitely recommend going to see him on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Walked there from the dentist office while my wife went to Costco but they wouldn’t let me in because I had a pack pack. Worked in the service industry for 12 years so I always leave a good tip, their loss. Walked down to Heroes Tap House and had no problem with my pack. Won’t be going back to Sammie’s but I’ll go back to heroes

Pretty quiet most of the time low key place to gamble just not open too late unless you get the right bartender that will stay open to 230. All the bartenders are really easy going and professional. Food is eat in only no take out!
