Multnomah Whiskey Library is not just a drinking parlor, it's an opulent space in downtown Portland that houses over 1,500 bottles of spirits from around the world. The cozy upstairs lounge exudes a vintage feel with its brick walls, high ceilings, dark wood paneling, and antique fireplace. The ambiance is reminiscent of an exclusive country club or European mansion with velvet-covered sofas and armchairs, brass-library ladders, and towering shelves filled with bottles.
I purchased hall passes for my husband’s birthday, and we had a great time. Our bartender (Julia) was attentive and knowledgeable and poured some fantastic whiskeys. We also enjoyed going through the many notes past patrons left in the drawers at our table. So fun ❤️. We will be back!

Well it’s a beautiful place for sure. I think if we sat at the bar I would have had a better experience. We sat in the library for about 10 min before anyone came to take an order. They do have a great selection for sure. Just not the best experience I wanted to learn something or exchange conversations but this was not the case.

A local treasure. A remarkable collection of spirits served by knowledgeable and friendly servers woth somm-like expertise. The environment is loungy and welcoming, with a great vibe. The food quality was high, and the prices seemed quite fair goven the level of service, quality and overall atmosphere. If you arel lloking to learn more about bourbon, scotch or rye, this is your place, with over 1600 bottles. The specialty cocktail and wine lists were impressive. Highly recommended. If you’re not a member with a reservation, come early around 4pm, or late, after 9pm.

Friday night in Portland and the best way to end the evening was a visit to the Multnomah Whiskey Library. RSVP was made and we arrived just a few minutes early so as to take in the atmosphere. Just wow! Not sure the pictures will do justice, you know, after just a couple of libations. Know this: the selections of whiskeys appears endless and you can't go wrong. Why? Because the staff is knowledgeable about their offerings--not sure which spirit you would.like? Just ask and their suggestion may be spot on for you. "May be..." Yep. We learned our taste buds differ from the book to the palate. As for food, we opted for the cheesburger, the popcorn and the oysters--no regrets! The Multnomah Whiskey Library is a must!!!
Dan T — Google review
Stepping into Multnomah Whiskey Library feels like entering a treasure trove of spirits—walls lined floor to ceiling with bottles, and watching staff expertly “pull” your selection is part of the fun. Our bartender was top-notch, crafting cocktails that were nothing short of fantastic. The only real misstep was the fries: they arrived cold and soggy, which was disappointing (even if the kitchen was winding down). Aside from that, it was a memorable night, and I’d recommend this spot to anyone in Portland looking for an exceptional drink experience.
Vy N — Google review
This is the best whiskey lounge experience ever. The offering is not just quantity but primarily quality selections. Right along with the quality of beverages is the quality of the servers and hosts. This library is the gold standard to which all other lounges ought to aspire.
Dale B — Google review
The server saved our experience here. We came up from the Green Room. We were able to transfer our tab upstairs. Our server was very knowledgeable and checked in on us frequently. I had the steak, it cooked and seasoned very well. The decor is very sophisticated and moody. Would come back!
Cora M — Google review
Honestly, I feel like I want to love this place, however...most of the time when we go it is pretty disappointing, especially when compared to most other places in Portland. I believe the MWL has gone downhill from where it was years ago, when they had a ling waitlist and it eas desireable to be a member. They try to maintain that they are an elite private club, however it is not members only and with that comes you having to reserve in advance to get a seat over a non-member. With that being said, I believe many of the excellent bartenders from years ago, have left and moved on to other places in the Portland area. (we know because we have talked with many of them at other locations). When you compare the cocktails at MWL with other cocktail bars in town, they are not as good and quite a bit more in price. It is hard to figure out why they would charge so much sometimes. The break-even pours are awesome and really the main benefit of being a member, if not the only reason we are members. I was charged $24 for a Negroni recently (I do custom order these), however I can get this exact same cocktail, made the way I ordered it at most other bars in town for $14/$16. Not sure why they are $8-10 higher for the same ingredients. We also have been very disappointed in the food when compared to most places in town (there are so many amazing spots in Portland-being that we are a foodie city). Some items have been ok, but not at their price point. At this price point we know much, much better high end restaurants in town. Honestly Scotch Lodge beats the socks off MWL when it comes to both food and cocktails (and price point for that matter). Ok, now on to the events...eek! Very, very disappointing. We just went to an event that was $130 per person (the masquerade ball) They charge a very high ticket price saying that you get heavy appetizers included, however it was one of the worst buffet setups I have ever seen. Heavy appetizers? What a joke! The charcuterie cups seemed like the meat and cheese off of a Costco platter. (basic cheese cubes and chunky salami pieces-nothing of high quality). Then the shrimp cocktail (which honestly was one of the more edible things on the buffet-still awful) also seemed as though it was purchased from a grocery store. They had these mini sliders that were in a metal buffet container with just meat, cheese and bread. When we went to take a bite, we realized how horribly dry they were. No sauce....no sauce on the side, no sauce on the sliders. Just dry. The person next to us, even tried to dip it in cocktail sauce because it was so dry...however they said it was just awful (understandbly!). Now, on to the oysters...one bite and I honestly was worried I was going to be sick the next day. Definitely not fresh and very awful. I wasn't the only one. Someone else standing at our table took a bite and almost spit it out. The deviled eggs were the only thing that was decent and edible. So we filled up on eggs. Now, on to the cocktails. Since it was a special event, cocktails were all $20 a piece...and unfortunately not balanced at all. It felt like they might as well have been made in a red solo cup. I have never been more disappointed in an event I have attended. We paid almost $300 for both our tickets and another few hundred in cocktails. So...all said and done, I will never attend another event here unless they make some major changes. With all that being said, we only periodically go in to get our members pours and buy the break-even. We then leave and head to dinner elsewhere in town, where we also partake in cocktails.

Cocktail bar

Bible Club PDX is a speakeasy-style bar located in Portland's Sellwood neighborhood, paying homage to the Prohibition era. The bar is housed within an unassuming historic home and features a 24-carat-gold bar area called The Holy Land. With no outdoor branding or signage, it offers a secretive and exclusive ambiance. The interior is filled with antiques, including glassware, chandeliers, and a turn-of-the-century cash register.
Found this place after googling “best cocktail bars in Portland” and it certainly lived up to the hype. The Bible Club is located in Southeast PDX, just a short trip from downtown and is one of the more elevated cocktail bars I’ve been to in a while. The cocktail menu was extensive and from what I could tell, seasoned in taste and whimsy. The cocktails my partner and I chose were both extremely refined and complex, and offered a unique imbibing experience (wow I sound pretentious here!) that you may not get at lesser cocktail bars. The whole vibe was also very cool, prohibition era, in a random house that didn’t have any signage, the whole “schtick” of the place really worked and you felt like you were stepping through a portal into another time period. The service was also excellent, as I felt our waiter was incredibly knowledgeable, enough so that I requested a cocktail - bartenders choice. It was sweet and bitter and smokey and exactly what I was looking for but didn’t have the words to ask for. All in all, Bible Club is a slam dunk and I HIGHLY recommend going if you’re visiting Portland. If you’re from Portland and you haven’t been here…what are you even doing? Thanks, Bible Club!

This place is awesome. The atmosphere inside is very cool. They did an incredible job of creating the speakeasy vibe. I love all the details. The cocktails were great. We watched the bartender smoke someone's drink and that sold us .,.we each had the old fashioned. Very good! We are vegan so we chose to snack on the shishitos. They were very good. The sauce on top was so tasty.
Valerie H — Google review
Great experience all around. Cozy environment, comfortable bar stools, and a prohibition vibe with many small details in the decorations. It looks like it has been there since the 1920s. They have a really nice menu. The two apps we had, the bruschetta the pretzel plate, were delicious! Plus a wide variety of unique cocktails for every taste. Our bartender, Sarah, was amazing. Very attentive and helpful. She even made us a drink she came up with that wasn’t on the menu (see photo). It was fantastic! She definitely needs to name it and get it on the menu!

You will find the Bible Club inside a yellow house with no signage—save for a welcome mat and a glowing red porch light at night—Bible Club in Portland, Oregon, transports guests to the Prohibition Era with unmatched attention to detail and atmosphere. This speakeasy, located at 6716 SE 16th St, is a portal to another time, offering a sinfully delightful menu of inventive cocktails and elevated bar bites. Inside, guests are met with vintage decor, low lighting, and a bar program that rivals the best in the country. We began with two standout cocktails: the *Dreamcatcher*—a beautifully clarified milk punch made with Union Gin, Cognac, Clear Creek Pear Brandy, black pepper & bergamot tea syrup, lavender, and lemon—and the *Dead Parrot*, a bold mix of Toki Japanese Whisky, Diplomatico Rum, Smith & Cross Jamaican Rum, Amontillado Sherry, Yellow Chartreuse, and Tiki Bitters served in a gleaming silver chalice. Every element—from the glassware to the flavor profiles—was meticulously curated and expertly executed. Bible Club has secured its spot on our top 10 list, and we’re already planning our return.

Came here with some of my best friends after eating next door at PDX Sliders. We got cocktails, mocktails and dessert. Can't speak to the food but we all agreed it looked like it would be quite delicious. My cocktial was perfect. Has all of the things I love and was so well balanced. My friends' mocktails were also so heckin' good. We got a passionfruit cake and it was so tasty. Recommend this place for small groups for a nice cocktail and snacks/apps
Breanna B — Google review
It’s a speakeasy with a garden at the backyard, I prefer this over inside of the house, it’s too tight. The lighting is amazing and perfect for a lounge/bar and the bartender could give you surprise drinks as long as you let them know what you are looking for
Tien N — Google review
Drinks were pricey and not very delicious. Service was excellent and the atmosphere and decor were amazing.
Emanuel — Google review
Visited this place for the first time recently with my sweetheart and we both agreed they made the best cocktails we've had in awhile. The Penicillin is particularly good. The atmosphere was cool, and it was fun to see a spot like this tucked in to the neighborhood. The servers were kind and attentive.

Cocktail bar
Teardrop Lounge, located in Portland's Pearl District, has gained a reputation as one of the city's most renowned cocktail bars. The chic and lively space is known for its classic and inventive cocktails crafted by talented mixologists using top-shelf spirits. The bar boasts an extensive menu featuring both timeless favorites from the past two centuries and innovative new creations. With a focus on presentation and quality ingredients, Teardrop Lounge offers a unique experience for cocktail enthusiasts.
Teardrop Lounge – A Hidden Gem with Fantastic Service and Atmosphere Teardrop Lounge is a great little spot with a super friendly, upbeat waitress who made our experience even better. She had excellent recommendations—I told her what I liked, and she came back with something fabulous for both of us. We started with a dozen oysters, which were absolutely delicious. And the bread? It smelled like your grandma just pulled it fresh from the oven, paired with amazing butter that made it even better. We were doing a bit of a progressive appetizer night, hopping around, but this stop was a highlight. The atmosphere was fantastic, the waitstaff was attentive and fun, and overall, it was a great place to go and enjoy a night out. I loved it and would definitely go back! We were too busy eating and enjoying cocktails, we forgot to snap many photos.

We haven't tried their food yet. A perfect spot for a date or with friends. Amazing cocktails. 👏 Highly recommended to visit this bar.

Drinks were so delish & not overpriced. Bartenders were very friendly & chatty. Nice place to go before our dinner reservations. Didn’t eat but enjoyed our time :)

Super fun drink menu with great prices. The most attentive bar staff in town, by far! The place is fun, dimly lit and attracts all kinds of people. They always play some sort of old black and white film on the wall, which is fun to see! I appreciate their categories of cocktails and thorough description of your options with each tincture, flavor and vibe. This place always delivers, never disappoints.

Rum Club, located in Portland, Oregon, is a cozy lounge with a relaxed atmosphere and a horseshoe-shaped bar that opened in 2011. The bar shares its space with Beaker and Flask and draws inspiration from tiki bars and historic South Pacific venues. It specializes in crafting tropical cocktails using classic techniques and tropical fruit ingredients.
We had a fantastic night on Friday at Run club! Amazing cocktails like Doors and corners, Daiquiri, peach blendie and new religion. Their alcohol is very good and their cocktails are just perfect! It’s a small and cozy bar with variety of cocktails and food menu.
Sushmita K — Google review
We have been coming here now for a few years! Amazing cocktails and surprisingly good bites considering the size of their kitchen. The fried rice is always an excellent choice. They change the fried rice on a seasonal basis and out of the last few years, there was only one season that we weren't fond of it. Every other time it has been wonderful and something you truly crave when you are away. Super crafty rum cocktails that are very well balanced. Best Daiquiri in town! The Pedro Martinez and Old Quartermaster are also excellent choices and some of our favorites we get everytime. They change their craft cocktail menu seasonally, however those three cocktails tend to stay on the menu. If you get the chance, do a Rum flight! They have a great selection of Rums to choose from! Also, Juice and Jen are the absolute best!!!! :)

A great rum bar in Portland, with amazing cocktails and delicious food. Tiki adjacent, it is sort of it's own vibe, fun date spot.

This place is such a gorgeous little Portland establishment. We came from Bend for a show and our friend recommended the Rum Club for our pre-show cocktails and bites. Delicious and well-crafted drinks, a cozy atmosphere with good lighting (a must for us!) and attentive, kind folks working there….thank you Sunshine! We will make this our Portland watering hole for future visits.
April B — Google review
One of the best to ever do it. Great drinks. Friendly, attentive staff. Perfect.
Steva C — Google review
If you like rum, this is definitely the spot! They have over 300 bottles available for your tasting pleasure. The drinks are prepared and served with a true mixologists approach to cocktails, which is pure chemistry! All juices and syrups are prepared in-house, which definitely makes a difference with each cocktail. If you just want to taste the various rums, you should definitely do so! Beer, wine, and mocktails are also available. The food items are really delicious and pair well with the beverages! This spot has a knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful staff! If you like good people, good drinks and food, and are a lover of rum, definitely stop in and enjoy the experience. You'll love it!!! The location is small and may get busy, so check local listings for surge hours, or perhaps make a reservation. Either way, may I suggest a visit to the bar!
Armand — Google review
I've had Rum Club on my list to try because a bartender I hold in high regard really likes it. It's a small bar. The music was old-school prohibition style that's popular with speakeasy's. The food was decent and the cocktails are pretty good. Unfortunately only one person was mixing for the whole joint. She was so busy it felt like fast food. We came away concluding it was just ok. Wham-bam-thank-you-ma'am is not my style. Having said that, Michael Shea, the proprietor is the creator of the Old Quartermaster cocktail. That alone merits another visit. I'll be back. Check out my profile for more great eateries and cocktail bars. ✌🏼

Palomar is a trendy Cuban-inspired cocktail bar in Miami that offers a wide range of rum-based Caribbean classics and signature drinks, including daiquiris, pina coladas, and punches. The menu features small plates like croquetas and empanaditas, as well as sandwiches and larger plates such as flat iron steak with chimichurri. The rooftop oasis provides a peaceful tropical escape in the city where guests can enjoy their drinks while watching the hustle and bustle below.
Absolutely love the new space! This place was recommended to us for awhile and it did not disappoint. The crab fritters were an amazing starter. Perfectly crispy chicken thighs in the Pollo Frito, with a hot sauce that's out of this world. And you can't go wrong with dessert. We didn't order alcohol this time around, but the agua fresca and mocktails were super flavorful. Will definitely be back soon

We had an awesome dinner here! Very friendly staff, small menu but all really interesting options. The ceviche was tangy but also earthy with great spices. Both of our cocktails were different twists on classics, so good. The steak was absolutely amazing. Delicious slow cooked pork. And then we had to try one of the blended margaritas. All great flavors, loved everything!
Suzannah S — Google review
We reached here at 5pm for dinner one day, because childcare! Glad that it turned out like that, because the place somehow looked beautiful inside with sunlight outside, and there was a calm inside which I really enjoyed. A very warm and welcoming space, as was the service! Then came the cocktail menu. Oh man- so many options. I could only try their Moscow mule, but probably the best I have ever tasted- so gingery. [Note to self: Visit often to try all their cocktails] The fried brussel sprouts and pineapple salad appetizers were both finger-lickin' delicious. I am still dreaming about those brussel sprouts!! The jackfruit tostada was an unusual choice for me -- but again, a knockout! Also tried their fried chicken entree and the tres leches cake-- all great too! Probably will be in our list of Portland favorites!
Nidhi T — Google review
I want to try everything in their menu!! I could eat 12 of their oysters myself. The Arroz Fritos was the best fried rice ever… I can go on & on about this place. Every plate was explained to us when they brought it out… absolutely loves the experience.

Best $80 dinner ever spent! Everyone greeted us with a smile. Pleasant atmosphere and comfortable booths. Loved the cocktails and mocktails! Can’t go wrong with the appetizers. First time ever trying Cuban friend rice. Delish!!! This is one of my new favorites!!!! 🥰

5 Stars — Every Time! From service to food, cocktails, prices, and atmosphere — everything here is top-notch. Some dishes taste like something a Cuban mom would make for your birthday — warm, soulful, and unforgettable. Highly recommend La Paleta with mezcal (ask for Jordan behind the bar — he’ll take great care of you). As for the food, every plate is spectacular. Ricky, the owner, is a legend when it comes to flavor, hospitality, and genuine service. Palomar Portland is always a must on my list. ¡Salud!

Bar Palomar is such a cute cocktail spots in Portland — from the drinks to the vibe, it hits all the right notes. Their Ritz Spritz is a summer dream in a glass — crisp, refreshing, and perfectly balanced without being overly sweet (which I love). If you're looking for something light but still full of character, this is the one. Now let’s talk about the Piña Gin Shot — it tastes just like ice cream in the best way possible. Creamy, tropical, and dangerously easy to drink. Don’t skip it! Another standout: the Moscow Mule. The twist? It’s made with roasted coconut water, giving it a subtle, smoky richness that adds depth to the classic. So refreshing and unexpectedly unique. If you want something to snack on, CEVICHE DE MARISCOS is a great option. Beyond the drinks, the interior is adorable — think playful, colorful, and welcoming with a dash of Havana chic. The whole place gives off fun, upbeat energy that makes you want to linger just a little longer. Cheers! 🍹✨

Bar
Hale Pele is a tiki bar located in the North East area of Portland, known for its tropical ambiance and exotic cocktails. The bar offers a wide range of tiki drinks, from creamy and fruity to tangy and fiery, with a volcano rating system indicating their intensity. The themed decor creates a Hawaiian island atmosphere, complete with periodic thunderstorms. The space is dimly lit and adorned with pufferfish decorations, adding to the tropical vibe.
The wait was long which is to be expected especially on a Friday evening but man was the food and drinks worth every single moment! I dont think I can remember a time I've had better BBQ chicken! Every single thing we ordered was absolutely astonishing. Service was a little slow but I completely understand with it being absolutely packed and possibly a tad under staffed. We were trying to be understanding of that aspect alone! Drinks were honestly top notch and would come here just for them! Atmosphere is exactly what you would expect from a tiki bar. Good vibes with incredible food and drinks, what more can you ask for?!?

Absolutely yes! Loved the space and ambiance. We sat at the bar and enjoyed watching them make all the cocktails! Best way to see which one looks like the next drink to try! Great service! Friendly staff!

The Signal Fire was delicious. The place is packed but the wait was worth it for me . The service was average . Not bad . A little bit of improvement will make the difference. Overall I had a great time . Coming to Portland for vacation. Definitely recommend it to my people.

Hale Pele was such a fun experience. We went to celebrate my best friend’s 40th Birthday and had a blast. The drinks were delicious and also super fun and entertaining. The staff was incredibly friendly and the ambiance was so fun and relaxed. If you are looking for a fun place to hang with friends or celebrate definitely check this place out.

We didn’t get any food, but the drinks were so good! I got two drink. The nocturnal engagement (created by our waitress) and a pain killer. They were both delicious. Our waitress was very helpful and engaging with us. The service was great and quick. We are visiting family and we will definitely be back during our next visit.

Honestly don't write many reviews but wanted to highlight our experience here for better or worse; The place was decently busy for a Tuesday night, greate vibes and atmosphere Loved the decoration and use of the small space. The service is where it lacked. Severely. My partner and I came for their birthday to celebrate a little early as I had a busy work day on their day of womb evacuation. The host who seated us after moving a larger group to a booth and clearing a table for us seemed nice and friendly but then our server was snappy and quick to get things done. Forgetting our Furikake rice we ordered extra on the side and when we brought it to their attention halfway through the meal they try to blame us for the plain rice we asked for with the Kalua Pork, which was a little dry but good flavour. Wish teriyaki was a sauce option in a Hawaiian themed establishment too. We had ordered the shareable Volcano drink and while the fire show was cool the experience or contents was not worth $29 for a bowl full of ice with a couple shots of liquor and pineapple juice at the bottom. Which to top it off, we had seen the bartender who prepared our drink sneeze into a receipt and their hands without even trying to cover it. Doubt I'll come again, place has potential but the staff is lackluster.
C S — Google review
Super cool Hawaiian vibe atmosphere, only 4 stars because it was too loud the music was so loud that we had to yell across the table also too small of tables, this place had the potential of moving to a bigger location to accommodate more ppl and bigger tables it was five of us in a very small round table there was barely any room for drinks and food, and your super close to other ppl. Food was good I had the chicken banh mi sandwich with Mac salad food was flavorful and filling, Hawaiian bread with the jam was mouthwatering it was so soft it melted in your mouth. So many drink varieties we got the volcano for our party it was a fun experience with the fire, sound effects and lights. Friendly service, highly recommend making reservations we waited 1.5hr for our table🫤

Always a favorite! The bartenders are surgeons, precisely pouring the perfect cocktail every time. I’ve never had a drink I didn’t like. The scenery is one of the best tiki bars. They finally got some merchandise in, including the two mugs in my pictures. All the food I’ve tried has been delicious.

Restaurant
Scotch Lodge is a whiskey-focused cocktail bar in Portland that offers a vintage vibe and elevated Pacific Northwest-inspired small plates. Since its opening in 2019, it has gained national recognition, making it to Esquire's list of best bars in the country by 2021. The bar boasts a remarkable selection of rare whiskey bottles and meticulously crafted bar snacks designed to complement their assertive cocktails.
Really fun whiskey bar - highly recommend sitting at the chefs counter. We already had eaten, but wished we had saved some room. It was such a treat to be so close to the action at the counter. We were highly intrigued by a slushy topped oyster plater we saw ordered a few times. Everything they were preparing looked so delicious. We had the cocktail special for two and then I got their love and fury cocktail while my boyfriend tried a bourbon. The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. It almost felt like drinks and a show with how efficient the action in the kitchen was. Really fun spot of a date night or grabbing drinks with a friend. Dark but cozy space, that’s perfect for a rainy day escape.

One of the best meals I’ve had in Portland! Every bite and sip was incredible. Would highly recommend the Sinners and Saints cocktail, fried Brie, whipped ricotta, and Jimmy Nardello peppers! We sat at the kitchen counter, which I probably wouldn’t do again, just because your back is to the restaurant, so you don’t really see the awesome vibe/decor. 100% will be back!

10/10 EXPERIENCE!!! I came here mainly to check out some of their interesting food items and grab a quick drink or two. Gotta say I was blown away by how amazing everything tasted here. Service was really great, helpful, and lightning quick. Food has gotta be hands down some of the best I've ever had. The twists on traditional dishes were all executed to PERFECTION. Oysters were a must and I can say I've never had oysters served that way but it was incredible. Wagyu tartare was so flavorful and rich that I was scraping the plate at the end for more. And finally the panna cotta was the perfect ending adding a delicious light strawberry finish that wasn't too sweet but so good. Would HIGHLY recommend all 3 as they're all 10/10 in my experience. Definitely make your way over here because the drinks are also amazing and they have other options that aren't whiskey/scotch as well. Next time I'm in town I'm definitely coming here again!!
Philip R — Google review
Despite the subdued lighting, everything about Scotch Lodge was brilliant. A small menu of impeccably prepared food, a cocktail menu split into ftuity and spirit-y varieties, and a literal manila folder full of whisky options. Service was impeccable - we were seated right on time, and our meal was spread out perfectly to be able to savor each course. A lucky find was the appearance of a Belgian single malt whisky from a favorite brewery/distillery on their featured flights. Had it not been there, we may never have made it deep enough into the detailed whisky listing to have found it. We visited with another couple who, honestly, wanted us along so that they could try more things on the food menu. Everything was wonderful (mussels, papardelle, heirloom tomatoes (garnished with more tomatoes), beef tartare, pickle spiced fries). Recent publicity has caused them to make changes to their reservation policies. Whether you're a returning customer, or new to Scotch Lodge, be sure to plan ahead with reservations.

Wow. For Scotch lovers this is the place to go. Relaxed atmosphere, delicious food, and crazy whiskey selections. Mixed drinks were really tasty...single barrel old fashioned was so good. Had the whipped ricotta wirh black truffle, raw oysters, and scallops crudo. All were spot on.

We drove into Portland kind of late and searched for a place to have a quick bite to eat and a few drinks. We showed up but realized we needed reservations. Upon arriving we were thankfully accommodated at the chefs table. BEST seat in the house! We had the Fried Brie, Oysters, Brussel Sprouts, Waygu Tartare, and the Pappardelle. First off the Oysters, BEST I’ve ever had!! The Fried Brie was heavenly, while the Waygu Tartare was a tasty and beautiful presentation. One of my favorite appetizers is always Brussels sprouts and they happened to be magnificent. By the time we got to the Pappardelle we were stuffed, as their portions are large in size, we took it to go and ate it the next day. It was super tasty as well! I would eat here all the time if I loved closer!! ❤️-all the way from Illinois!!

My first time at Scotch Lodge on a not so busy night was a 10/10. The decor and the design allows you to have a conversation that’s intimate. We were well taken care of by Erin. She explained the menu to us, which is playful by the way. She was always around to make sure to provide solid recommendations on drinks and food options. If you live in Portland and you been thinking of going, I think you should.
Adrian C — Google review
Delicious food and drinks and attentive waitstaff! Vibe is lovely - romantic and cozy, not too loud but can hear music and chatter as nice background ambiance. Sitting at the bar and watching the skill of the kitchen churn out dishes is super fun. The “Under Pressure” was unbelievably good and tasted like a blueberry whipped cream. We also got the whipped ricotta which was served with warm bread and was creamy and zesty. Togarashi on arancini is something we’ve never had before! And the chocolate cake had a yogurty sauce that complemented the fruit and chocolate flavor well. Definitely recommend!!

The name of the bar is Pink Rabbit and it is themed around music and art. The neon sign outside the door caught your eye, but the real draw is the cocktail menu which includes elevated drinks like The National song inspired drink called "I Need My Girl". There are also Asian fusion dishes on offer, so there's something for everyone. The atmosphere at Pink Rabbit is fun and welcoming, making it a great spot to meet up with friends for a night out.
I had only one drink, and it was complex and delicious! Definitely worth a second visit.
Jenna C — Google review
Place looks fun to spend for 15-20 minutes max as that’s the usual pattern that you see from patrons coming in/out & I can see why. To start, some drinks are very small & loaded with ice. Alcohol content is very disappointing for their downtown prices ranging from $15-$20, it’s practically a juice bar, zero buzz. Live DJ was a highlight but very small place to dance around or socialize with others. Atmosphere feels very fast paced as it seems promising when you walk in but then you realize why people leave early. Could almost see this as a drive-through bar experience.
Christian M — Google review
Loved our drinks here - depending on what you ordered, though, you could get pretty loaded down with ice so you had to drink fast to avoid your drink getting too watery. We sat outside, and it was lovely. The service was great, and it was just a nice night to sit outside. We only stayed for the one cocktail; they were pretty pricey for what you got. The atmosphere inside was neat, too!

Stopped into Pink Rabbit for a quick drink and was pleasantly surprised. The bar has a really nice atmosphere—vibrant and welcoming. I originally came in hoping to try the pink deviled eggs (RIP 🥲), but even without them, it was a great experience. The staff was super friendly and service was fast. Cocktails were excellent—definitely a highlight. A solid place to grab a well-made drink and soak in some good energy. Will be back

Fun cocktail bar with some unique cocktail and food options. I love the surrounding rabbit art on the walls. Inside seating is a bit limited, but they have outdoor as well. It wasn't overly pricey either, based on the quality of what we ordered.

A really nice bar in the Pearl District of Portland. I arrived late last night and wanted a quick bite with a drink and this place stood out. Walked over and could instantly feel the coolness oozing out. Beautiful neon lighting, and lush decor with friendly staff. I was able to get a food order in just before the kitchen closed and didn't feel rushed at all. I got one burger and chicken sandwich slider and the gorgonzola fries. Even the bar food in PDX is delicious! I didn't get to try the egg nog old fashioned but my margarita was good as well. I would recommend this spot and will definitely return!
Dominick — Google review
The cocktails here are great, and the atmosphere is nice.As tourists, we had a good time at first, but everything changed when we checked our bank statements later. My friend noticed that the amount charged was far higher than the price listed on the menu. After calculating, we realized a tip of over 50% had been added without our consent. We all checked our statements, and everyone had been charged well beyond the menu prices — it was shocking. What made this worse was that after ordering, the bartender took our credit cards without showing us any details on the card machine. We never saw any numbers on the terminal, nor did she ask if we wanted a receipt. We all assumed that we would sign for the card and pay the tip when leaving. Instead, it seems like our signatures were forged, and a hefty tip was added without our permission. To be honest, if the tip had been 20%, we might not have questioned it. But over 50%? This feels like theft! Later, when we asked another staff member about the extra charge, he asked if we had chosen a tip and signed for it. We explained that the bartender never gave us an option for the tip amount, and we never received a receipt or signed anything. He then tried to explain that the charge was still “pending” because we hadn’t tipped yet, even though our bank records showed that the transaction was completed. He also asked if we wanted to tip, saying the “pending” status would disappear once we did. When he showed us the card machine with the correct menu price, he emphasized that the minimum tip was 18%, and people usually give 20%. This felt incredibly disrespectful — as if they assumed we, as foreigners, wouldn’t tip properly. Combined with the behavior of the first bartender, this made us feel very uncomfortable. No apology was offered, and we were even questioned about tipping. I couldn’t help but wonder if this was racial discrimination. After choosing a tip and signing the receipt, I noticed that my previous transaction was canceled, and the correct amount was charged. There was no “pending” status, which makes the explanation from the other staff member seem unconvincing. I later found similar complaints from other tourists in their Google reviews, where people had been charged unauthorized tips as well. To all foreign or out-of-town visitors: please be extra cautious and check your bills carefully. This kind of behavior is unacceptable!

Nestled in a charming corner, Angel Face is a European-inspired bar that feels like stepping into an Impressionist masterpiece. What sets Angel Face apart is its unique approach to cocktails—there's no menu here!
Found this place almost by accident and so happy we did! Wide selection of drinks. Ours were perfect! Not to large but didn't feel crowded. Decor felt authentic to a cocktail bar. Highly recommend.

This bar came highly recommended by another bartender; we were looking for someplace cozy to have an amazing cocktail. Well, I wanted so badly to like it here, but yikes. The atmosphere was delightful and the bartender really was kind, but I don't think he knew what he was doing. Our drinks were awful, and WOW were they expensive. We ordered two apiece to give them the benefit of the doubt, but no, nothing changed.

I have become a regular at Angel Face after enjoying it on occasion for years. They have an amazing and extensive menu of classic cocktails to choose from. The food is very good as well. At my latest visit, a friend and I wanted to try some of their vermouths and the very welcoming bar staff worked with us to put a flight together. We had a very enjoyable and interactive session with the bar team as we sip. It was really lovely and felt like old friends by the end of the evening there. I strongly recommend you give it a try.
David M — Google review
Had two selections of food from the menu, a dozen of oyster and beef tartare. The oysters were good but room temperature, which I was confused, aren’t they supposed to be served chill over ice? We noticed the ice weren’t ice, they weren’t even melting. The beef tartare was horrible, served very organic. We are a huge fan of beef tartare but never had it served like this, where it was brought to us a bowl of minced beef that looks like I can get it from Costco, and herbs( spices) on top of the bowl, on a plate, and we have to mix it ourselves. The person served us was very nice, but didn’t quite understand what I asked for in a cocktail. I told them not to make it too sweet and my drink was very sweet, but acceptable. If Google can give a selection of cleanliness of the room, I would rate it a 2.5. Not the greatest but nice atmosphere, the vibe is nice, dim light and great music. Another thing I should mention, very slow on a Monday night. Waited longer than expected for our food to arrive, and that was basically the only service we received other than getting our drinks. I would say, $81.00 not worth spent, rather spending them somewhere else instead at Angel Face.
Jingmin T — Google review
My dining experience was awkward and uncomfortable. The staff was unfriendly and short right from the start when we ordered drinks and appetizers. We even considered leaving, but decided to give it a chance. Unfortunately, after placing our dinner order, we quickly regretted staying. The service made us feel more like a burden than guests. Once our main courses arrived, we ate as quickly as possible and left. The food was actually pretty good, but definitely not worth checking out.

Angelface is a perfect match for any evening looking for bright vibes, a delicately polished pretty environment, amazing service and delicious food.. inside and outside. While all the local menu ingredients are delicious, the oysters are always perfect… love the creative salads too.

Really neat little spot in Portland. We went for a post-dinner drink on our 5yr anniversary and loved the music and ambiance. Service was quick and Fara was incredibly nice and accommodating. We will definitely be back and bring more friends with us. Thanks for helping us celebrate 5 years!

Great cocktail place! Highly recommend. Limited indoor seating means you may need to either wait or be ok with outdoor seating. We opted for sitting next to the nice fire place outside. The cocktail menu is not extensive by any means but the bartenders are quite knowledgeable so you are good as long as know your drink. They offer snacks and other small dishes to go with drinks but don’t expect a full on meal. The atmosphere is quite energetic and young. It’s a great place to catch up with your friends over some classic cocktails (E.g., whiskey sour) 😏

One of the must-try dishes recommended by food expert Gary Okazaki is the unique Expatriate nachos, made with super-crackly won ton chips, creamy Thai chile cheese sauce, lemongrass ground beef, and other flavorful toppings that challenge traditional nacho expectations.
One of my favorite places in Portland, and one of the few that I will ALWAYS be down to visit. Food is amazing. Drinks are wonderful. I love reading the little stories that each drink gets on their menu. Do yourself a favor and get the butter sandwich, the shrimp toast, the burger and the mushrooms. Yummmmmm

The two of us ordered a cocktail each. I had the Starling and my companion had the Night Dreamer. We both really enjoyed our well-crafted beverages. We ordered the spiced fries and the shrimp toast. Those fries and dipping sauces were outstanding. We can’t stop talking about the shrimp toast. We thought we were starting there and eating more elsewhere, but we agreed that we should have stuck around and ordered more.

I needed a spot to pregame before a show at Alberta Rose Theater and this was my choice based on both proximity and word of mouth. I’ve been to a few “cozy” bars in town, but this place was easily the coziest. Smaller than expected with a sophisticated, almost gothic aesthetic. The one bottled beer they serve is pretty damn good. The obvious highlight for me were the nachos. Similar to the dragon nachos at the Crystal Ballroom Mcmenamins, but more sophisticated flavors and superior presentation. I arrived hungry and couldn’t quite finish them! Added bonus: they’re only a 5 minute walk from Alberta Rose Theater and they let me use the bathroom about an hour later when I was waiting in line. I’ll definitely be back!

Had the fries and they were fantastic! Had a couple of cocktails, as did friends, and they were good as well. Service was fast and friendly. FANTASTIC. Why have I not heard of this place?!?! Some of the best drinks I’ve had in PDX. Try the Deep Cut, such a unique spin in a mezcal drink that you can’t get anywhere else. Food was flavorful and well seasoned. Creative menu that stands out. It was fairly busy but we were seated right away, and the service was above and beyond. We were very impressed.

Waited nearly 2 full hours for food that never came. I went here with two friends and we were seated and our drink orders were taken right away. When the drinks arrived, our server said the food would arrive shortly. Another 20 minutes later, the server came out again to check on us and take more drink orders. Even though we had not finished our drinks, the server was pushing us to get a second drink order in which I thought was a little weird. We asked again about our food, and we were assured it would arrive shortly. The whole time, other tables are receiving food that were seated after us. At around the hour-and-a-half mark, we started to express our frustration with the server and he apologized and assured us our food would be out soon. Another half-hour later, we asked about our food for the 4th time, and the server went in again to check in with the kitchen. It was then revealed to us that he had never put in our order. The entire experience was extremely frustrating, and we ended up leaving to get pizza across the street. The server did comp 2 beers, but I felt we really shouldn’t have paid for anything that evening. The drinks were pretty good though🤷‍♂️

We first came here several years ago on the Cognac Crawl, and it is just as fun now as it was back then. Their Christmas pop-up with Miracle is fantastic - also busy, we had a 15 minute wait on a Tuesday at 8:30pm - and the themed drinks are wide ranging with something for everyone. I had beef tartare with egg yolk jam in the shape of tiny egg yolks (so cute!!!) and it was amazing. Great texture and delicious flavour. Thanks to our server I also scored an amazing shot glass that wasn't on the printed list. It's a missile toe. Get it?

Hello Love is a must visit- the atmosphere and vibes are fantastic, the beautiful plants really add to the feel. We sat at the bar and enjoyed cocktails which both were fantastic and in cute, whimsical glasses. Not a single plastic in sight! Went here with a friend. The modern atmosphere was open with plenty of lighting. The hostess greeted us right away and got us seated. I ordered the nachos and the Fiesta Forever cocktail since it's a seasonal drink. My friend had the Oaxacan Sunrise which must be strong since there's a two-drink limit on it. When our drinks arrived, they were good. The nachos, however, tasted cold especially the meat and chips. I’d have to come back to try more items and give a more complete review since we didn’t order much this time.

Stopped for brunch whilst traveling. My wife and I thought both the food and beverages were exceptional. We had a couple of different coffee drinks, the ‘Oaxacan Sunrise’ and a Peach one. We ate the breakfast tacos and Apple pie French toast. All the plants and lighting creates a really nice atmosphere. Very reasonably priced for how good it all is as well. An absolute must if you’re in the area and looking to eat, drink, and feel what Portland is about.

stopped in for a quick dinner and had some really tasty tacos and their lemonade-sarsaparilla-ginger beer mocktail which was a great combo of the three flavors. the carnitas were super oily though, so much juice and oil pooled out of the side and soaked into the other tacos. still good just be careful when you bite in!

10/10 accross the board, this place is SO freaking cute. Sooo many plants, bar is beautiful, fun seating. Easy ordering options. INCREDIBLE drinks and food. We got espresso martinis, the breakfast tacos and croissant sandwich for brunch. Everything was beautifully presented and tasted great. Definitely a go to

Nestled in the vibrant southeast Portland, Sapphire Hotel boasts a rich history that dates back to the early 20th century. Once a bustling hotel lobby frequented by sailors and artists, it has now transformed into a chic cocktail bar while retaining its nostalgic charm. The bar serves an enticing array of American small plates and innovative drinks, making it a hotspot for locals and visitors alike.
It has been years since I had the pleasure of going to this incredible place! I will tell you that I’ve never forgotten that evening and never will. I think of it often. My son no longer lives in Portland so I don’t have much reason to travel there, but if I ever do, this place will be at the top of my must do list! I would love for David to serve me another glass of Scotch! It was the best I have ever had. To this day, I wish I could remember the brand. All I know was that it had been in a cherry barrel. I miss seeing you David! You and your lovely wife would always be welcomed at my home in GA. Trippe’s Mom

Google thinks this is a hotel, but it's actually a wonderful neighborhood restaurant. The ambiance is great. The staff went out of the way to accommodate our physical limitations. Food and drinks were on point and the prices were fair.

my partner and i invited our guest out to walk one evening and we came across this hotel serving dinner to non-guests and guests alike. we were clear with them that we would not be staying a night, as we had already fit our own home into a temporary hotel for our guest (see first sentence). they were able to oblige our needs and were even willing to seat us outside of the establishment in the heat. as luck would have it, we have all lived in warmer climates and are well-conditioned to handle such temperatures. having said that, we ordered the mac and cheese, polenta fries, salmon cakes and salad. i might be forgetting some of our order, but i'd prefer not to make any assumptions. i do recall that we had cocktails with names that might have confused or misled. the tastes of them did lead me to gaze north, to the sky, and think "wow, this taste good!" as luck would have it, we were the only diners on the patio, so no one noticed me when i looked up and thought, "wow, this taste good!"

Love this place. The food is always good. The service is kind and attentive. one of my favorite places to take myself on a date or with a friend. Its not a hotel anymore but it was along time ago and has a spicy background story. The resturant is where the old lobby of the hotel use to be. Happy hour is great here. My favorite drink is the witchy things cocktail.

Great place for date night! Excellent cocktail list. We had the Brussels sprouts and artichoke dip for appetizers which were excellent.

I’m sorry, everything here was mediocre. This place is like a movie with a 60% on Rotten Tomatoes. I had the Beet Burger, which tasted like Play-Doh. And served with kettle chips for those who like the sensation of chewing on concrete. One cocktail I ordered had no garnish and appeared to be missing a ingredient. I wanted to ask my server about it but she just kind of disappeared. Cocktails were reasonably priced ($14) but would pay more for better quality. Decor is nice, but so are a hundred other places in Portland.

After ordering a meal to go, I was harassed by a waiter for sitting at an outside table within the establishment. This said waiter felt as if she was entitled to a tip and stated “I will refuse service to you next time”. The customer service was selected and based on tipping.

Hot date? Biz lunch? Casual happy hour get together? This place is a true gem and staple in the heart of SE Portland. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, resembling a swanky vintage 5-star hotel room lobby. The food is fantastic— fresh ingredients with a little something for everyone on the menu. Cocktail selection is top tier in this town— pages and pages of liquid delights all whipped up to perfection by their friendly staff. ;tldr Swipe right on Sapphire Hotel, you won’t regret it!

The Sports Bra in Sullivan's Gulch is a sports bar that caters to a diverse crowd, showcasing women and nonbinary athletes in various sports events. The bar offers a delectable menu featuring items like fried cauliflower with cilantro tahini and cocktails such as the bourbon-peach Title IX. Additionally, the tap list highlights beers from women brewers. Visitors can enjoy watching games without having to request them to be shown, creating an inclusive and enjoyable atmosphere for all sports enthusiasts.
A pilgrimage of sorts, and it didn't disappoint. Friendly, fast service. Women's sports stars and memorabilia on every wall. Good bar snacks (get the cauliflower). Nice beer selection. Friendly environment. And free tampons in the bathroom. What more could you want?

Didn't eat, but the place was awesome. Just the right mix of here and now, (womxn's sports) and a good ol lesbian bar of old. Made my heart sing. Too bad they don't have music and dancing after the games are done. A little slice of heaven.

Small and relaxed women’s sports bar with sunny outdoor seating. Atmosphere is off the charts celebratory of women’s athletic achievement; if that’s not your vibe, go be less elsewhere. We came to watch a Portland Thorns match which they had streaming on nearly every tv but they did also have hockey and softball on for a few fans. The food is ridiculously good, seriously. The Vietnamese ribs melted off the bone. I even saved some bites to top my nachos. The pulled pork slider was sweet and came with seasoned fries. My friend loved whatever the peach ale was available in May 24! “Memorable drink”. The plates are $12-26 and totally worth it but they do have a nightly happy hour if you’re looking to spend a little less. They have table and booth seating, and friendly, chill staff. We parked in the neighborhood across the street as parking on Broadway was limited but it was painless. Really enjoyed the couple of hours we spent there during the game and look forward to coming back.

The Sports Bra in Portland is an exceptional dining experience that celebrates great food and an inclusive atmosphere! We enjoyed a variety of dishes, and each one was more delicious than the last. The SPORTS BRA NACHOS were a standout, loaded with black beans, housemade cheese sauce, pickled onion, and cilantro — a perfect start to our meal. The BEET SALAD was another favorite, with roasted beets, fresh apple, cider-vinaigrette, goat cheese, and toasted hazelnuts, all served over mixed greens. It was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. We also loved the Roasted Brussels Sprouts; they were perfectly cooked with just the right amount of char and seasoning. The PULLED PORK SLIDERS were tender and packed with flavor, served on Hawaiian sweet rolls with shaved fennel, pickled onion, and a delightful sweet mayo that complemented the spices perfectly. For drinks, the zero-proof® GRANNIE'S G&T was refreshing with a great balance of flavors, and the POWER SNATCH cocktail was a unique mix of coconut fat-washed Mezcal, agave, and bitters — a must-try! The staff at The Sports Bra were friendly and attentive, creating a welcoming and comfortable environment. This is more than just a restaurant; it's a celebration of women in sports and a fantastic place for anyone looking to enjoy a great meal with friends. Highly recommend checking it out!

Bar West is a vibrant and modern spot located in Portland's lively Slabtown/Nob Hill district. It offers a friendly atmosphere, locally sourced organic dishes, and artfully designed cocktails. The menu features Italian-inspired Northwest cuisine with homemade pasta, wood-fired pizzettas, slow-cooked sauces, and a variety of gluten-free and vegan options. The restaurant also boasts an extensive selection of local wines, craft beers, and ciders.
I've been wanting to go to Bar West for months and I am so happy I finally got the chance to experience this amazing bar within the Nob Hill neighborhood. The elements that make Bar West unique and a place I will continue to go to are: 1) The drinks (sheesh they are good) 2) The interior design and vibe. The drinks here were absolutely fantastic (especially the cocktails). As a wine drinker, I'm always delighted when cocktail forward places offer wine and their selections here were pretty good. The cocktails were amazing, I loved the use of garnishes to add a scent to the drink (more places need to do this). The interior of Bar West is my favorite out of any bar I've been to. After walking past this place for years, I never knew what I was missing out on. The inside feels like you're sitting in someone's home, in large part to the cozy lighting and the easy on the eye colors within the bar. The decorations fit with the vibe and make it an incredibly relaxing place to enjoy food and drinks. Whoever designed the interior of the restaurant I applaud you, amazing work!! The only thing I would improve was the pizza cook time, I felt it could've been in the oven for a little longer to make it less soggy, otherwise our food was good. To bring everything together, the staff here were very friendly and attentive, they provided great service. I highly recommend Bar West and I will undoubtedly be back in the future!

Nice brunch spot with good food and a friendly vibe Stopped by Bar West for brunch. Menu was pretty limited but dishes were solid. Fried chicken was flavorful and the spicy sauce was great. Eggs Benedict would be better if the yolk was runny, but still came with a fresh salad. Chill atmosphere. Good spot for a casual meal or to meet friends. Tip: Try the fried chicken and ask how you want your eggs cooked. Worth checking out if you are in the area.

This review is specifically related to the use of this business to host a large group event, specifically a company retreat. My company has held several similar all-day events here in the past for a group size of about 25, most recently last week on Oct. 23. Unfortunately, several factors about the environment and food service were very unfavorable, as a result of which we will need to re-evaluate using this business for future large group extended events. Most negative was the food service, as there were both very limited options and not enough food, as a result of which at least several participants were hungry throughout the day. The only food options available for the main meal (lunch) were broccoli, chicken and salmon (no carbs of any sort, such as pasta or rice). Thus for vegetarians, there was nothing to eat except for broccoli. If someone (such as myself) eats fish but not meat including chicken, there was little to eat because the salmon ran out very quickly and no more was available (so I ate only broccoli). This negatively impacted my ability to participate in the afternoon part of the company retreat. In addition to the lack of food, the ambient noise was unacceptably loud (it took a long time to get the music turned down, after which there were random disturbing sounds coming from somewhere in the business throughout the day), and it was quite cold causing multiple people to wear their outside jackets during the afternoon. These issues were not a problem previously, most especially the food, but if we were to hold another large group event here in the future we would need some assurance that these negative and controllable issues would be improved upon. (The space itself is fine and appropriate for our needs.) Addendum: My company’s practice manager (who organized the retreat the past 2 years) saw this review and added that: “I found the person assigned as coordinator very unpleasant both times. She left for the day and never told me. She seemed put out by any request and was not friendly. Also, the noise was an issue both times that I recall. Kitchen banging around and loud overhead music.” Clearly this business has no interest in hosting group events!

Ground Kontrol Classic Arcade and Bar is a two-story adult arcade that offers a nostalgic experience with its collection of over 60 old-school video games and 27 pinball machines. The recent remodel has integrated the defunct all-ages venue Backspace, resulting in a wonderland for nerds of all ages. This unique spot serves beer, wine, cider, and mixed drinks alongside light meals to keep you fueled for an entire night of gaming.
Love this place! One of the only places in Portland I've found that has simple cocktails (rum n coke) for under $10. They also have a great menu of house cocktails that are reasonably priced too! Great place for a date night or to go with your friends. Went with 3 of my buddies and we had a great time. Great selection of classic games and newer games.

Just spent 3 hours at Ground Kontrol and had an absolute blast! If you're into retro gaming, this place is a nostalgic dream come true. The upstairs is packed wall-to-wall with pinball machines, while the lower level is filled with classic arcade games from every era. We did run into a good number of machines that were out of order, which was a bit disappointing, but there were still plenty of working games to keep us entertained. They offer simple concession-style food and a solid variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Whether you're looking for family fun or a chill spot to hang with friends, Ground Kontrol is definitely worth checking out!

We literally plan vacations to Portland to hang out here. There's a massive selection of Pinball machines from every era (in perfect condition). The arcades also span the decades. Truly nostalgic with arcades like Mario Bros and Donkey Kong with modern classics like Mario Kart and Star Wars. With beverage holders on the machines, 2 bars and vegan food, we stay for hours.

Really great prices for how many games you get to play. We got the $50 card and played 80% of the games and still had a ton of points left and we were using it between two people. The drinks are made well. They have two towns on tap! Overall fun night and great experience!

The Alibi Tiki Lounge is a historic tiki bar that dates back to the late 1800s, making it the oldest of its kind on the American West Coast. Originally established as a horse stop and later transformed into a tavern, it was eventually converted into a Polynesian-themed lounge in 1947. The venue offers traditional Hawaiian cuisine and tropical cocktails, including flaming pu-pu platters.
Wonderful tiki bar that takes you into another 🏝️ place when you're in there. Low lighting, fish tank and terrific food 😋.They do karaoke 8 pm to 2 I believe but be warned on 🎤 karaoke night it can get a little crazy no space to move. This is an awesome divey tiki bar. The drinks are good, the food is tasty, and the vibes cannot be beat. The karaoke is fun and usually very busy, but everyone is into it and it doesn't feel forced the way some karaoke does. Absolutely recommend going here for a late night stop.

Such a fun place/stop for a bar hop. I wouldnt come here right off the bat. Id come a few rounds deep then enjoy the night. The drinks can be on the sweet side so if youre someone who gets sick from sugary drinks even tho you feel like you can, id limit to 1 or 2 then switch to basic G&T or V&Ts. Trust me, morning you will thank night version you. Their jello shots are good too! The food is great here as well. Perfect for snacks (lumpia is my go to) or late 2nd meal. Its also just really fun to watch people do karaoke. Its clear everyone's just there to have a fun time

Looking forward to always making The Alibi lounge regular stop for us . Got some swag this time for memories.

We informed multiple staff that a man in the facility tried to put our phone in his pocket and none of them seem to care. The man was able to walk out of the door with no staff or police involved. If cameras had been tracked, the staff could have clearly seen the man pocketing our phones and attempting to search for it all while it being in his pocket. The door guy left him leave and said it’s no problem. The door guy said why would we be mad if we got our phones back and let him leave whenever he wanted to. Attached is a screenshot of our predatory, Uber driver, whom security let leave.

With so many places on Mississippi St. I always end up at Interurban. The atmosphere is always perfect and such a relaxing yet lively place to spend my night. The patio outside it beautifully lit with very comfy and cute benches. They also have a bar inside for a little more of a bar feel for those who would rather that. Interurban has a great selection of drinks from tap, to craft brews, to house-made cocktails. We had Hugo spritz’s which were delicious, the Caesar salad and the smoked trout BLT which was the BEST BLT I’ve ever had and I cannot recommend enough. Nice and cozy interior space with a quaint back patio. Would be a great setting to grab a drink and a bite. Unfortunately the food was VERY mediocre and concerningly salty (not to mention overpriced). Maybe regulars are treated better, but you’ll feel as if you’ve pissed off the bartender just by walking in the front door.

Solid burger, chicken wrap & drinks. First, their burger. While they list it as a “smash burger”, it isn’t a true smash burger.. however, it delivers on the flavor. The sauce is nice, and burger comes in a good flavor bun. The fries are a solid portion & good. Then, the chicken wrap. It has good flavor. Tastes a bit like ramen, believe it or not. Major caveat, our food was a bit on the over salted side. So if you suffer from high BP, maybe pass on these or ask them to salt it a bit less. But of course, even with being too salty, it was good. Just stay hydrated 🤣 Will def be going back Came back, tried the steak frites. They mostly sucked.

Bar
Reel M Inn is a cozy, fishing-themed spot that's famous for its crispy fried chicken and potato wedges. The beloved dive bar faced several challenges during the pandemic but has made a comeback, now offering bone-in chicken from Wednesday to Monday. Despite its small size and crowded atmosphere, this joint is known for its fantastic fried chicken and jojos. With a great beer selection featuring local favorites, it's the perfect place for a laid-back afternoon of day drinking.
Reel M Inn is one of those bars that you will read praise for on a Buzzfeed or Eater listicle, but then immediately forget exists. Which makes a lot of sense and is also invaluable to us regulars. Upon arrival however, this dive that gives "midlife crisis step-dad bar" during the day, opens into "eclectic Portland misfit haven" in the afternoon and evenings. The weathered exterior doesn't do the lively interior any justice. The fried chicken(and horseradish ranch) are house-made. With limited fryer space, food can take a while, but the taller pours and spontaneous fellowship with the local rabble helps to extend everyone's patience farther than one would assume. Pool is free. Condiments are free. Being kind to the bar staff and your fellow patrons is free. Reel M Inn can be pretty much what you make it. What you give, is what you get. There are few community oriented spaces left, let alone bars, in Portland so enter with a heart ready for a new chapter in your storybook and you'll have a great time.
Jake H — Google review
Small dive bar with great chicken and jojos. The chicken and jojos was very affordable. Lots of chicken and tasty potato wedges. Offered plenty of sauces to go with. I choose buffalo, ranch, and honey mustard. Be warned it takes time. The bartender was the one making the chicken so be chill, grab a beer while you wait. Totally worth it.
Rolando O — Google review
This was my 2nd time at this bar and it was great. I went in on Halloween and it wasn't busy at first but it quickly got busy. I mainly went in for their fried chicken and mojos. The chicken did take a little while as expected, so as a tip, order it asap! It'll take at least 20 minutes before you get it. Grab a drink while you wait. The bartender was a workhorse and stayed on top of everything. The only downside was the mostly crappy music being played on the jukebox, which was the patrons' fault lol. This was my 2nd time and I'll definitely be back for a 3rd.
Joey B — Google review
probably the best bar in Portland but definitely the best fried chicken in portland. also drinks are cheap and you feel the place is part of the community rather than some private equity asset. 5 stars any day but show up expecting to wait an hour for your chicken. It’s part of the charm
Henry J — Google review
Believe the hype. Yeah the food takes a while. It's quality and is hands down the best chicken in town. Order a drink, makes some new friends, enjoy the vibe, and the hour wait wont seem so long. This bar will always have my heart 🖤
Donna P — Google review
Probably one of the best fried chicken meals you'll ever have in a dive bar in the U.S. It will take a really, really long time to get your fried bar food (they had one bartender working the bar and fryer when we went on a Saturday afternoon). The batter for the Jo-Jos and fried chicken are incredibly good. They are thick, crispy, with flaky layers--remeniscent of really good Korean fried chicken batter that is made for sauces. The dark meat chicken we got was super tender and juicy too. Fried pickles and onion rings seemed to have a lighter, tempura-veggie-like batter. If you live nearby, I think this would be a great spot for fried chicken. We're thinking about trying to make it our meet-up spot before Violet Hex / drag and queer movie nights at the Clinton Street theater. Ambiance is small dive bar-y. Bartender is overworked and super friendly. A few beers on tap, and some cans in the fridge. For those who care, the space might not be the most fat-friendly or accessible when it's crowded: the bathroom I used was tiny and not accessible, and there's some tables with stools or pull-out chairs.
Esther P — Google review
We love literally all the bartenders, and patrons, here. The chicken is best I’ve ever had and their service is classic Portland friendly style. Thanks, Reel M Inn for all you do!

As authentic as it gets. Not a huge fan of the super thick potato slices, Lovingly called JoJo's, a whole potato sliced by eight rather than four feels like it'd be a little easier to handle. Chicken and sauces were top notch though as well as service and atmosphere. Classic spot you got to go!

It's a popular spot for young adults to enjoy drinks and socialize in a lively atmosphere.
Fantastic. First time here, but I LOVE this place already. The fish and chips are phenomenal, I will absolutely be back for more. Delicious. The bartenders are very cool people. This place embodies everything that I love about my hometown of Portland!!

I love this karaoke bar. Great food and crowd. The portions are huge and the everything we ordered was good. I genuinely had so much fun there. My friend and I are making a monthly tradition of coming here :)

Look, I know the reputation this place has, but I decided to give them a try anyways. The food is bad. The prices are bad. The service is bad. Even the owner sucks. Hell, as dirty as the place is, I'm genuinely shocked that they've managed to pass their health inspections. If you DO decide to go here for some reason? Please, PLEASE make sure you keep an eye on your drinks, keep them covered if possible, and make sure you bring people that you trust that can keep an eye on you while you're there.

I asked for a water with ice and they told me to drink the open pitchers off the counter. First, one pitcher was empty and the other had less than a glass in it. Second, I don't think it is up to code to be serving water out of open pitchers that have been sitting there for who knows how long and anyone could have coughed into. I work in a bar and it doesn't take that long to pour a customer water. It's just straight up bad customer service to say no. This bar needs to get itself together cuz this isn't the first bad experience I've had here.

loved the karaoke DJ, she was the best, but the food was Mid and the drinks were just fine. Also turns out this place is anti vax and pulled their sponsorship for a pickleball team because one of the members was trans so, unless something has changed about the views of this establishment do not go here if you have a brain and good taste.

Amazing place for cheap eats in the heart of the PSU campus. I love going here in the happy hour, known as the cheerful hour here, for reasonably priced options for food and drinks. The daily specials are awesome, love the Tuesday deal of 3 dollar tacos and 3.50 dollar margaritas, although cheap they taste really good. The overall vibes are super chill, you can relax with friends and the best part for me is the option of all-day breakfast. No need to write more, super chill cheap dive bar ambiance, recommend to check it out if you are in the area. the draft beer selection is pretty varied and balanced as well.
Maulsri J — Google review
Mid-time cheerful goer, look me up. I ordered the sliders and mini-corn dogs and they were really good, but I rushed to get out of there and left food on the table. Music was loud as hell. Literally could feel my hearing getting damaged. I asked the KJ to turn it down and they did, but by the time my food arrived, the music was louder than before and I had already decided I would be leaving asap. I know the bar gets less busy after school gets out, but it was not fun tonight. The vibe was off and I don’t like permanent hearing damage. Not every bar night is as fun as every other, but tonight was a real bummer and I will be avoiding Cheerful for a while.

Bar
Yamhill Pub is a no-frills bar with a punk rock atmosphere, featuring graffiti-covered walls, discounted pitchers, and a classic jukebox. Situated amidst the modern bustle of Portland, this dive bar exudes an unyielding resilience that has weathered various challenges over the years. It's not your typical Portland dive; it's a genuine, slightly gritty establishment where patrons embrace its rough-around-the-edges charm.
The ambiance is fantastic, the bartender affable, the drinks good, and the prices low. Food's nothing to write home about, but you don't really go there for the food and there's plenty of places nearby to grab a bite if you get peckish. Best of all, there's a blue/red line stop right out front. One of my favorite places to stop in for a quick pint.
Diana S — Google review
This is an eclectic place to go for drinks but the vibe made me feel so uncomfortable and uneasy at this bar. It wasn’t busy but the type of other customers there didn’t make me want to stay. They don’t serve food. The bartender was super friendly and the drink (Old Fashion) I had was strong but my friend and I had to leave soon after our visit. I just felt too uncomfortable to stay. It’s hard to explain but I have no desire to visit again.
Shawna W — Google review
This is the most disgusting bar I’ve ever been to. I’m surprised the health department or the city hasn’t made them improve their standards. I walked in, took video because I actually couldn’t believe my eyes, and walked out. How anyone would pay money to be at this place puzzles me. Needless to say, I will never go back. Never.

This place is exactly what I was hoping, my husband and I, were staying in portland for the weekend, for work. When we got off late we were just looking for a low key place to get some drinks, this place was exactly what I was hoping and the bar tender was great on saturday night! Portland treated us so well this weekend and this place was a highlight for sure!

Dive barber at its best. Friendly service and friendly people. Was here from Pittsburgh and this reminded me of home. Dim bar with friendly service/people and best of all drinks for the right price. Every place around the area was charging double/triple.

I give this place a solid 5 stars because it is the most DIVE’eeeee-DIVE BAR I have ever encountered in my pursuit of dive bars! Haha…and if you’re anything like me, I’m a lady but not that much of a lady. Meaning I LOVE me a rouge around the edges, real character, real stories, real drinks type of place. Seriously a great place. And wait until you see the wall art! Uffff…

Half my group was Canadian and regardless of the Oregon Liquor Control Commission explicitly stating that “An unexpired and unaltered driver license from a U.S. state, the District of Columbia, or a province or territory of Canada” are valid as a sole piece of ID the Canadians were not allowed to enter the bar with their Canadian drivers licenses. Then without warning, as the Canadians were coming back with their passports, security said “you’re drinking outside my bar, I’m not letting any of you in” and slammed the door. The whole experience was extremely rude, security was highly abrasive, and there was no respect provided to potential patrons. I would highly recommend frequenting another establishment given the choice. “Looks like a bar you would get shanked in”

Speakeasy Tavern is a classic basement bar in Portland, known for its chalkboard walls and laid-back atmosphere. The dimly lit cellar offers a range of beers, pool tables, and pinball machines, making it the perfect spot to unwind after a long day. The friendly and sassy bartenders are always ready to listen to your woes while serving up dirt-cheap drinks. Happy hour brings $2 beers and there's also an all-day every day deal on $1 gringo tacos.
Delicious food, great tacos: all of them!! OMG DELICIOUS!!! Great staff, great times!.. It has live music sometimes. Great patio.

Dingy and gross. In other words PERFECT. If you say you want to go to a dive bar, you want to go here. It checks all the boxes and has whatever you can ask for. I'd be nice if the bathrooms weren't as rancid but again, what can you expect from a dive bar. Get fresh air with the outside seating. Hide from your partner in the alley in between buildings. It's really is a cool place.
Neil J — Google review
I’ve been to this tavern a few times over the years and always appreciated the laid-back vibe — but my most recent visit was deeply disappointing and honestly unacceptable. After ordering a single beer and playing a few games of pool with my cousin, I returned to the bar about an hour later to order another drink for each of us. The bartender — who wore a Detroit ball cap and had a mustache — suddenly turned rude and unprofessional. Without cause, he said, “Looks like you’ve had enough already, Jack-o,” then followed it up with a crude, demeaning comment and refused to acknowledge me again despite my repeated attempts to order. To make matters worse, the bartender himself appeared intoxicated — slurring, stumbling, and clearly not in a state to be serving customers. The irony of being denied service by someone who shouldn’t have been behind the bar in the first place wasn’t lost on me. For context: I walk with a noticeable gait due to a spinal rod and a four-inch leg length difference from childhood scoliosis — something that may look unusual, but does not justify being mocked, judged, or refused service. Whether or not he knew about my condition, his behavior was inexcusable. This experience left a bitter taste. Staff drinking on the job, insulting customers, and treating people with visible disabilities like a joke? That’s a serious problem. Management needs to take accountability for who they’re putting behind the bar. I won't be returning — and I’d warn others to think twice.

Bad day? Starday Tavern is a cozy and unpretentious bar that offers a retro atmosphere, live entertainment, and good drinks. It's considered a hidden gem in the Foster area of Portland. The bar hosts nightly performances by various bands, allowing patrons to enjoy music up close. Additionally, they have themed nights like Shaq night that add to the unique experience. Recently, they've expanded their offerings to include food on select days of the week.
I've never eaten here, but the service and atmosphere are top-notch if you're looking for a real Portland dive bar. Great themes that everyone is into. All around, good folks, patrons, and staff alike. You'll leave in better spirits than you walked in with.

Lucas was so friendly and accommodating. You don’t see this in the service industry anymore. He made the experience what it was from the moment we began ordering. The live music was cool. Caribbean restaurant
Sousòl is a trendy and intimate bar located beneath the popular restaurant Kann, both overseen by chef Gregory Gourdet. While Kann boasts an open and bright ambiance, Sousòl offers a darker, more romantic setting. The subterranean bar serves up mod cocktails and spicy Caribbean snacks in a theatrically dark space with velour banquettes and ottomans.
This is my favorite zero proof drinks bar. Their zero proof drinks are so tasty, and the combination of flavors will have you feeling good. Their finger food is delicious. My favorites were the chicken, potatoes, and steak. If they served the same okra that they do at Kann, I would be so happy. Intimate atmosphere, but it's laid back.

The small plate corn dogs were pretty good and the drinks were good, but not amazing. Also, be prepared to add an extra 42% to your bill because the Service Fee is 22% and it doesn't go directly towards livable wages, so tipping is an additional 20%. For the quality of the drinks and the food, it was not worth it and I don't recommend coming here. There are places within a mile that will have more intricate and balanced cocktails and the food is equally as good, if not better. 🤷🏽‍♀️

Amazing experience at Sous Sol! From start to finish, Franklin and Shauna made us feel right at home with their warm and friendly service. Maybe I’m just not a bar person, but this felt a little stuffy and uninviting to me. We swung by after dinner and got two drinks and an appetizer. Drinks were, in my opinion, just ok. They were fun but felt a little underwhelming. The corn dogs however, were the best corn dogs of my life. I’d say this spot is worth a try, but be prepared for a high price point for what you’re getting.

Excellent mocktails and small plates. We loved the pork belly and the tostones rellenos. Perfect date-night atmosphere. The service was fantastic, from entry to exit. I'm fine with the service charge as this restaurant companion lounge sets expectations for themselves and of their guests. A mutual respect. You get high-quality ingredients and service.

Swanky, laid back atmosphere. Drinks were all definitely top shelf and the focal of this establishment. This was a pre-quel to my birthday evening, started with drinks and an appetizer. Food was fantastic, not a whole lot to choose from but what they do offer 'small bites' were done well. Haitian food so expected it to be a little more on the spicy side. Be sure you make yourself reservations in advance because more than likely you will not get in without em.

Driftwood Room is a retro cocktail lounge located in the Hotel deLuxe in downtown Portland. It has been around since the 1950s and offers a fine selection of cocktails and wines, along with a variety of happy hour bites. The mid-century decor creates a nostalgic ambiance, while the well-crafted drinks pay homage to both past and present. With its devoted following and distinctive history, Driftwood Room is a must-visit destination that captures the essence of Portland's unique charm.
Yup! Bartender from Seattle is a good dude and makes good drinks. I tried two drinks I’d never heard of before, ended with a gin and tonic to smooth it out. A+ service all around. Good atmosphere too.

An intimate setting and a classic hotel downtown. A few small tables and about 10 seats at the bar. The cocktail bar is one of the best stocked I have seen in the city. While others might specialize in whiskey or rum, the Driftwood bartenders can craft almost any drink that you can imagine. Jeff was immensely helpful and deeply knowledgeable about absinthe, which they do have an impressive selection of. If you've ever thought about trying to chase the green fairy, the Driftwood is a great choice to do so. They have a limited food menu available also but we did not try on this trip.
Allen N — Google review
Came here for dessert and drinks after dinner. Ended up getting both the shoestring fries as a snack and the skillet cookie as dessert. Both were wonderful! The cookie was hot, and very soft. It was a good salt level also, so it wasn't overly sweet. The fries were seasoned well and perfectly crispy. We got the Driftwood Sazerac (which they lit on fire briefly!) And the Germaine absinthe fountain. We enjoyed both our drinks, and Curtis gave us some awesome backstory/history of absinthe and the fountain style of serving. All 3 bartenders working were friendly and efficient. The atmosphere was moody and dark, darker than im used to in bars even, but in a great way. It felt suave and fun, a great spot for a date night or just a classy drink. It was pricey, but the experience was well worth it.
Stephanie H — Google review
Jeff & Myla are attentive & engaging behind the bar. The well curated lounge music selection is divinely relaxing in a 1930’s-1950’s discography, with a focus on jazz, bebop & swing. Limited draught beer selection but an ample cocktail selection with an emphasis on classic & nouveau-classical cocktails & absinthe fountains for fans of the green fairy. 🧚🏼‍♀️ I’ll try happy hour bites on my next visit. Cocktails are $17+. Pints are $7-8.

I hate loud ambient music and this place has actual music that still lets you carry a conversation and here yourself think. 😍 Husband and I came here for drinks and dessert after Fogo de Chão. He had the Manhattan flight and I had the Raspberry lemon drop with house-made Raspberry syrup. Our dessert was the iron skillet cookie. So good!

First off. I have been coming here since the early 2000’s And I have never…. NEVER been mistreated. Never had a bad drink. Never had a bad food experience. Which leads me to wonder if some of these tall tale reviews are really just that. Tall tall tales or someone who is generally hard to please from home plate and all the way around third. The atmosphere is very nice The drinks are really good The food is really good The service has always been on point. The rooms at the hotel are great.

Great drinks. Really good vibe. Absinthe was delicious as was the skillet cookie.

All of the staff here were very kind! I had been wanting to come in here for a while, so I was excited when we finally went. The drinks were delicious. We talked to Jackie for a little bit on our way out, and she was so nice. The space is dark, cozy, romantic, intimate, with playful and curvy booth seating with really nice wide chairs, small cute little oval tables. The design is made to promote this entire intimate vibe, which was then completely ruined by 3 women sitting close by who were talking so obnoxiously loud the entire time we were there. It was definitely a disappointment and major vibe killer.

Kelly's Olympian is a historic and funky music venue in Portland, claiming to be the city's third oldest continuously running bar. Established in 1902, it has a rumored history as a speakeasy during the '30s and may have connections to the Portland Underground. The interior is adorned with antique neon signs and vintage motorcycles, giving it a biker bar feel but attracting patrons from all walks of life. It offers burgers, bar food, happy hour deals, and late closing hours.
I really enjoy this place. The atmosphere is special, the bartender are nice and funny, only the security guard needs to learn how to smile a bit. Great place for an after work brew! But hold your horses when it comes to buying food here, the menu prices are way, way overpriced. As part of the Bye & Bye family of restaurants, it provides an extensive selection of cocktails, beer, and vegan-friendly dishes. The bar hosts various events including Taco Thursday featuring jackfruit El Pastor tacos and dog-friendly gatherings such as fundraisers for animal rescue organizations and themed parties like an 80s dog prom.
Victoria is my favorite brunch spot! I usually get the vegan burrito but went for the french toast today. I always get a scrambled egg for the dogs and they put it in a dog bowl for them. The vegan sausage is so good!!! Best patio in PDX!

Good old neighborhood hangout. Common ground for vegans and slight carnivores. Their parm fries are always solid. Their cocktails lovingly made. Their burger: ouf- major underwhelm. Seems like a dry Sysco patty and their gluten free bun might be Portland's worst. Look at this photo of how it disintegrated with two bites. Basically their non-vegan food is the inverse of the brown rice and broccoli vegans were offered in the 80s at restaurants.

Went here for Brunch & Stitch on Saturday from 11-2. Their brunch menu is mostly Vegan and very tasty. Me and my friends ordered the buffalo cauliflower, which was really delicious, the french toast, and I ordered the V Love Sandwich. This is an order-at-the-bar and bus-your-own-table situation which I’ve noticed is quite common in Portland. They have indoor and extensive outdoor seating, which has a heat lamp for cold weather. I would not recommend this place for non-alcoholic beverages. They have some non-alcoholic drinks but most of their drink menu has alcohol and cannot be omitted.

I’ve come here a few times (it’s within walking distance) so I’ve learned what’s good and what’s bad I have enjoyed was the turkey sandwich they do have. Came today and they changed the menu and now it’s a stale sourdough instead of the focaccia they had been using for the bread. The fries also changed again and they were cold, some uncooked, but generally not crunchy potato. Victoria has been more of a place to spend too much money, but for convenience it was worth it. But I think I’ll take a break for a few months till they change the menu again. To the owner, I do not envy your position to keep a bar alive during this economy, but the cost cutting on the food really makes this not worth a place to spend money.

Amazing cocktails 🤩🤩🤩everything we ordered from their cocktail menu was awesome! I loved Painkillah and their jungle based cocktail. Old fashioned is also lovely! Very cozy place for drinks

Amazing selection of cocktails, bartender makes excellent drinks, can't go wrong. Pretzels are great. Happy hour is highly recommended. Drinks on general are reasonably priced. Outdoor seating is available. Ambience is nice for a date.

Super fun vibe! Amazing cocktail menu! These mixologists are so creative and helpful. I ordered bartender’s choice mocktail and the only parameters I gave were, no diary and I like spicy. I ended up with spicy goodness in a cup🙌🙌! If you are hard of hearing it may be a little tough because it is quite loud. Other than that I’ll definitely be back!

I wound up in here killing time while waiting for friends at the brewery around the corner. It’s a decent place to chill if you’re in the area. I’m not sure if the server was being agro or just had a bad sense of humor, but her jokes were cruel and not funny at all. Had a dog with kraut and some George T Stagg—it’s a pretty basic pub menu. Any bar that carries George Stagg is worth at least 3 stars regardless if the service, right?

This bar is the perfect merger of 'fine cocktails' with 'I just finished logging.' You can get a brilliant corpse reviver and with a classy hot dog. Must go.

Cozy Craft Cocktail Joint. I've been meaning to check this place out for a while. The mixologist does a great job prescribing the right drink for you. Everyone enjoyed their drinks. We only eat popcorn so I can't comment on the chow. Like the cyborg says, I'll be back. ✌️

The Mapo Tofu ragu was a standout! Isaac was a wonderful server and we had a lovely time. Little gastro wine bar with excellent martinis. Will be back!

A cute and cozy space with friendly staff. Reservations are the way to go, because it is small. They have a nice wine list and the cocktails looked good, we had wine and a red vermouth from Oregon. The Summer Risotto was THE BEST. It was flavorful, creamy and the corn and chanterelle mushrooms packed the perfect punch of flavor. I could eat that weekly! The pork chop was also good, but I felt like it lacked a bit of flavor, the beans, chard & salsa verde added more flavor. The broccolini was cooked perfectly - tender but not mushy. The sauce on top was a nice and bright flavor burst. We didn’t get dessert because we were stuffed! Definitely want to go back and try the pasta dishes and desserts.

Enjoyed the Chelo dinner menu for a Valentines Date. The standouts were guacamole plate and gorditas - those alone were well worth the visit! We also really enjoyed the homemade hot sauces served on the side with our meal. Generally, I felt like it was a fairly GF/DF-friendly menu. A lot of modifications were offered.
Alexandra A — Google review
I think a couple weeks to the menu would be needed. We noticed the same garnish with caviar on both hot and cold dishes. The caviar on the hot pork chop wasn't very pleasing. The pork chop definitely needed a pineapple salsa or sauce with it to cut through the fattiness of the chop and grits.
Chanel R — Google review
Food was outstanding! We had the carpaccio and crudo to start, carpaccio was the show stopper. Trout and pork for mains, both cooked excellently, and then had the sorbetto and pana Cotta for dessert. The quality of ingredients and flavor/texture combinations were amazing! The service was so-so, told them it was a special occasion in advance but no acknowledgement of that. The server also gave us some awkward guidance when selecting wine, and wasn't super warm or friendly. Tables were pretty close to each other, it felt like we were spilling off a little with two entrees and drinks.
Elizabeth Z — Google review
Made reservations weeks in advance to come eat at this fabulous establishment! The lady behind the bar, Tanzy(sp?), was fabulous. She made great recommendations for food and fabulous drinks. There were 3 of us, and we shared everything. We grabbed some apps and 1 of each of the main dishes. It was more than enough food to share for the 3 of us. I can't find my picture of the carbonara or the tuna, so we had everything pictured plus 2 more items. We also had to get double on the focaccia bread. That was warm and amazing. This place was as advertised! Definitely male reservations before you go. Even grabbed a couple items to go, as a friend we had was unable to join us! Chef Patrick was nailing it from the 3 point line with this menu, from a fellow Blazer fan to another. Well done!

[update upon 5/7/2022 visit] Still perfect. We tried different menus this time and yet were surprised again. Even donuts were just came out of the oil and awesome. 5/5 period. None of servers was in tux, yet the service was top-notch--Used plates were replaced, bread crumbs were cleared. We had a truffle-stuffed triangoli and a squid pasta. We've seen restaurants used truffle salt or truffle oil for the flavor, but this place uses actual minced-truffle. What a nice surprise. The squid pasta was just amazing. I almost used an f word in my first bite. Pasta itself was awesome too, but the base soup of the squid pasta was better than famous cioppino from Sotto Mare in SF. Overall, the pastas was comparable or better than Rosmarino. As for the dessert, chocolate mousse was great, but the cannoli sundae outshined. Another wow ice cream since Bos Taurus in Bend. Will definitely revisit and try all items in the menu.

Dame is one of my all time favorite restaurants in Portland, and they have a great setup for outdoor dining, which I appreciate because I love to be able to bring my sweet dog along to dinner. Truly the prettiest and tastiest Italian food in town. While his meatballs are pretty much the best in town, it’s the salads and vegetable starters/sides that I crave the most.

Been going to this joint for years. In the last 2 years or so, it seems as though the “bridge and tunnel” crowd discovered it. If you love a good dive-bar with chill vibes, go to the The Slammer on week nights, but if you dislike bros, puking sorority girls and loud crappy, trap music, I’d avoid this joint on Friday and Saturday nights. Very affordable drinks.

The staff was very friendly, and all around seemed to be a decent area to spend an evening. The crowd was a bit of a mix, but overall not bad. The drinks were reasonable for Portland, and they had a reasonable selection. Honestly I'm going to give it a 4 star for the simple fact that they played the cursed song TGIF, and it wasn't even a Friday, it was a Thursday night. Not that being Friday would justify playing such a horrid song. But with my own personal hatred of that song to the side, it is a good bar for a night out.

Great place! But bartender Justine tried to rip me off 6$ more on a single beer. This place was pretty chill. I didn't try the food, but was the drinks were nice. The outside seating was spacious. Only major downside is the long lines to get a drink. Not because the staff weren't working hard (they were!) but I think the additional bartenders were scheduled to come on later than they should have been and were in immediate damage control. It was a nice place on a shady looking street, but that's Portland for you lol.

NOT wheelchair friendly what so ever, if you are in a wheelchair, so can't even get to the stalls, which none of the stalls are for those with disabilities, all very thin. Had to tell staff so I can enter and exit the place through the emergency exit 😑 they were very sweet though. I had called to ask about restrooms and entrance of it was really wheelchair friendly and they said yes...also no real wheelchair sitting, it's booths and picnic tables. Sucked to feel less included and in the way. I will say, other than entrance and bathroom, and if I wasn't in a wheelchair, it was a very nice place, staff were really sweet, lots of room here, outdoor space is lovely, and has a good vibe.

This restaurant is like Halloween year-round! A themed restaurant that was definitely worth a visit. Completely decorated to give a spooky feeling. Complimentary themed food menu. What a cool spooky place. We went here for a couple drinks hoping to get food. They have many gluten free options as well as vegan options unfortunately for us my husband is both vegan and gluten free and the only option for that was fries. Our drinks were fantastic though and the staff was very attentive and friendly. I ordered fries and asked for a side of ranch, the person that brought us our food made sure to let us know the ranch was not vegan as they so their best to watch for dietary restrictions. I appreciate their accomodations.

A great spot for datenight! An excellent drink selection, great food options (I had the wings which were meaty and perfectly cooked), and the mini golf course was fun with some nice challenges (in the form of random spinning wheels to mix things up a bit) scattered throughout the nine holes. We held our organization’s yearly appreciation day at Birdie Time Pub and Mini Golf, and it was such a fantastic experience! The staff went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly. They were kind, attentive, and even helped us with technical needs like setting up a microphone for speeches. The venue itself was perfect for our group. The space is fun, welcoming, and most importantly, accessible for all, which was a big priority for us. Everyone loved the mini golf and atmosphere, but one of the biggest highlights was the photo booth, it brought so much laughter and joy to the event. Amazing Dive bar. Great location. Cheap drinks, good snacks. Good music playing. Locals are there getting loose. Amazing decor. I am obsessed with the painting but Al Hirchfeld on the wall. Its an original!

Seems like it gets lots of business so of course the bartender's are too cool. Busy talking about side work or bar gossip or just general complaining before they look up and smile, "what can I getcha?". Who cares though. It's spacious. The crowd was mixed ages. Despite the 'grandmas house' vibe, it has a lot to offer. This would be good for a group but also good for an individual who likes sitting at long bars and talking to strangers.

Came here yesterday. Great service, came back today and was met with an incredibly rude bartender. With a 25 minute ticket time on wings. When at the 20 minute mark I inquired about the food because I had gotten on the phone a few mins after placing my order I was told I was lying about the wait. The phone call was at the 20min marker. Then asked if I wanted the food still which took another 5 minutes to come out while I was waiting for my voided receipt. Of course I declined it. Had a great smash burger across the street lovely folks. All I wanted was an apology of sorts but was met with hostility. There is something to be said when visiting homogeneous areas that when you’re met with micro aggressions you aren’t surprised but can still be disheartening.

Really great bartenders and service, Mickey, there is great along with all of the other bartenders too. Fast, awesome service, stiff drinks, great vibe, NA options, too, espresso, martini on draft, and believe it or not their burgers are freaking bomb. I will come here every day for the rest of my life! Over 100 years old!
Julia R — Google review
Based on my experiences, you go here to get permissibly hammered with your buds in a third space, or to one of the events they put on, you do not go here to get good or cheap food or drink. I spent the same amount for two people having a drink and a burger at SH as I did for brunch at SD down the street, and that seems bananas. This is a dive bar, through and through; the pours are heavy, and I'd go here again to sit and chat to a friend over a pint outside and people watch, because the vibe can actually be better than other bars in walking distance. There is a massive projector screen and a pool table, as well as some electronic gambling and game machines.

Awesome staff! Try everything on the menu! Prime rib night is Wednesday $26- worth it! ALSO good happy hour (and brunch is apparently Sat & Sun 11:30 - 3:00 PM, but I haven't tried that yet.)

McMenamins Tavern & Pool is a historic space in Portland that has been transformed with vibrant murals and neon lights. It's a popular spot within the McMenamins franchise due to its central location and abundance of billiards tables. The tavern offers a laid-back environment where visitors can enjoy playing pool or trying their hand at the 22-foot shuffleboard tables.
I don't rate a place unless I really love it and really intend to be back. McMenamins has good food. Really good. If you are looking for fancy, this is not it, but it is wonderfully good. Nice laid back atmosphere, nice variety of local beers plus wines, and Danni behind the bar kept those wanting mixed drinks happy as well. Oh, and there is a genius in their kitchen when it comes to soup. Trust me on this.
David R — Google review
Time for lunch and spotted McMenamins across the street. Why not? Great Iced Tea! Atmosphere is great, the vibe is in tune with the area and the age of the building…complete with a wood burning stove in the center of the room. The Hummus plate was nice but overpowering. It is served with both raw and pickled veggies. Combined with the garlic laced Tzatziki sauce it is a bit much. Definitely Portland…where everything has its own spin.

Good pool tables, good food, good friends and good times. And their tater tots are crispy. Each of the vintage buildings and decor are on point and always make me feel welcome.

Good food and atmosphere and staff were great. Cozy little spot to hang out with friends and family. They have pool tables, shuffle board and a few televisions to keep you entertained.
JEFF K — Google review
McMenamins has one of my favorite bar food menus. The Cajun tots are a MUST! Everything else I’ve eaten here is also very good. I’m usually pretty pleased with the beer selection. Service has been hit or miss but I keep coming back because the food and atmosphere makes up for it. Really fun to have so many pool tables available and a few TVs to watch games.

The Tavern and Pool McMenamins location is a great spot for delicious food (pizza), drinks, and bar games. I highly recommend the Hammerhead BBQ pizza, the Tropical Storm pizza, the Omnivore pizza, and the Margherita pizza. And definitely order some Cajun tots! There are 3 pool tables and 2 shuffle board games, and also a nice fireplace to warm up. And of course, they have a stocked bar with all the local beers, cidars, and spirits.

A McMenamins in the Portland area seems to be a staple, if not a way of life. Each with its own personality both by location and its service staff. Tried the bacon cheeseburger and a by request pepperoni pizza. It's solid pub fair, though prices tend a bit to the higher side. Good selection of beers and our server was friendly. Definitely a good place to meet friends and hang out.
Dave D — Google review
Excellent food and very good service from my bartender. Not a huge food menu, made up for by drink selections. Tried the BBQ slider and they were very good along with a dungeon burger. Serving size of the burger was good and not huge like so many places. Toppings we're fresh and well done. The fries were excellent. Doing good fries takes several steps and some time if done completely in house. The fries definitely deserve special mention for how good they were. The bartender was very friendly and quite attentive. He made great recommendations on a flight of cider. The beer and cider selections are extensive and worth several trips to explore.

Bar
Lutz Tavern, established in 1947 and recently renovated, offers a unique blend of old-school charm and modern style. The bar attracts an eclectic mix of patrons from different generations, creating a lively and engaging atmosphere. The friendly bartender serves up nostalgic music and expertly crafted drinks, including a noteworthy Manhattan. One distinctive feature is the gumball machine pin dispenser that adds a playful touch to the bar's ambiance.
Great late night dive bar, especially if you like Americana decor, old school paneling, vintage barstools and sometimes great metal. They also have chill bartenders and chefs (they're killing it when it comes to bar food - it's like sophisticated decadence. I love the BLT) and one of my favorite Mexican lagers (by 5440). Similar to Lutz's vibe if you've been there.

This is a fun well-known dive bar in the Woodstock area of Portland. They are popular for their burgers and have been rated highly for them in local papers for “best burgers” in town features. The staff is friendly and they have a large selection of beers on tap and in cans. A good amount of inexpensive tall boys too. There’s a number of slightly worn but cozy booths and several tall tables with bar stools. The bar itself is long and has bar stools along it. Pin ball and pool too. Good prices and tasty food. One of our favorite places to stop by for a bit.

I love this local dive! Chill, kind vibes only. Some of the old diner seats are in rough shape, but it's part of the charm. Very kind folks tending the bar. Love all the bar stool seat options. Tasty corn dogs! (Lil less deep fried plz next time hopefully). Fair prices.

Spot has some character, but have had multiple issues with service here, the most recent of which prompted this review. Walked my dog over and wanted to get a light draft having had a few at the house beforehand and not having anything light at home. Bartender ignored me upon entry, at which point I walked to the end of the bar where they were scrolling their phone and politely asked them to serve me (this is the normal level of attentiveness from the staff at this bar so nothing notable here). They asked for my order -- which is important for what follows -- and I cordially replied that I was already a bit intoxicated so would like a Bud Light. The bartender then refused to serve me on the basis that I had just stated I was intoxicated (in a bar! imagine that!) and thus she was using her good judgment to not serve someone who was already intoxicated. Two key points: 1) I have seen this same bartender serve someone who was barely able to walk away from the bar on their own two feet; 2) the bartender could not tell I was intoxicated until I told her. Essentially, I was denied service because the bartender didn't like how I looked, or some other bogus reason, and they attempted to use "good judgment" as an excuse to not serve me. I have tended bar before and know the rules around judgment, and this wasn't the bartender using discretion, it was simply unwarranted denial of service. After pressing the bartender a bit on her logic, she stuck to her story so I rolled my eyes and left. Won't be going back, and figured I'd share the tale so you all can hopefully call the staff out if you are ever treated in a similar manner were you to find yourself at the Lutz.

Well I was hungry and this place is next to the heist food trucks( lots of places)but I saw a man eating outside, looked good! I always thought “ famous dive bar” but the first thing I noticed was it smells clean ! They have reasonable lunches( too much to eat! ) delicious and it reminds me of my baby sitters house in the 50s, lots of vintage bar signs and two guys playing cribbage! Friendly and fast
Beth H — Google review
The bartender enjoys a good side eye when asking for a Long Island, an old school lovely bev that they believe is underneath their bartending skills. Customer service is the name of the game. Why be rude to polite customers who tip with every purchase? When the waitress brought the food, she slammed the baskets near our drinks and blamed Us for “having them in the way” despite us attempting to be polite and move things out of the way accordingly. The food was hardly decent despite paying $18 for 9 wings and even buzzed, a microwave pizza would have been better. I love this area , but I would not recommend going here.

Love(d) this bar. As a service industry lifer, I am beyond bummed to hear the new hours... Late night workers rely on places where we can show up and wind down after work. This place has always been a refuge for bartenders, servers, cooks, and other late night crews. And now they are closing at one. We’re not just going to leave and go to another bar at closing time. We are just going to a bar that we know we can hang out at for more than 20 minutes. Fix it.

Vegan restaurant
Baby Ketten Klub, once hailed as America's top karaoke night by the New York Times, offers an extensive song catalog that includes popular hits and rare tracks recorded by the owner himself. The diverse performances range from folk songs about hippos to death metal and new-wave tunes. The menu features creatively named items like "tempurah coliflowr bytez" and "baskit of chikn fingrs," all written in misspelled kitten-speak.
I had a fantastic time at Baby Ketten Klub! The lively atmosphere, friendly staff, and great song selection made for an unforgettable night. Whether you're a seasoned singer or just looking to have fun, this karaoke bar is the perfect spot to let loose and enjoy good vibes. Highly recommended!

The vibes here are immaculate! Came on the tail end of a backpacking trip and felt so welcomed in Portland! Got to sing my favorite songs and the DJ was incredible and the crowd was electric! I prefer open karaoke but it’s very nice they have the option for both private and public

I didn’t order any food but was pleasantly surprised at how many gluten free things were on the menu! I would like to come back just to try some of it! They have room rentals at $45/hour. This was what we paid for the smallest room, so nice, with a discount ball! I think it can comfortably hold 6-8 people. Probably could squeeze more if you wanted! It was 4 of us in the room and it was a lot of fun. A lot of extra space to dance and roam. Barstool seats. There’s a QR code that you can and each person that scans it can add songs from their phone. Good variety of songs. Even new ones! Like from the wicked musical part 1 that just came out… adding songs was super easy. You could easily search the artist or the song itself. You could see the queue of the songs on the right hand side. There’s also karaoke in the main room and that looked super fun, chill vibes… loud bass. So bring earplugs if you’re sensitive. It was the kind of place where you can feel comfortable singing and it has a fun underground dance club feel. I would go back to the main karaoke and not necessarily have to rent a room. You go to the bar to sign up for the karaoke room rental. That’s what we did, at least. And pay at the end. We wanted to do just an hour and it actually gave us a 5 min countdown when our time was up, I appreciated that! I would go back!
Gloria W — Google review
The food is all deep fried vegan food, not the most appetizing. You'll probably need more than what they offer for a total meal. So, maybe eat before you go, but definitely go, because this place rocks in every other way. Met up with about 15 friends, booked the adorable 70s room for two hours. It flew by, and we then moved to the main room for more yummy drinks and bar karaoke. Their technology is really cool, too, it's easy to search and add music in the rooms. For the main bar you can set your favorites on their site, but you have to write them on paper slips to hand in line a caveman, lol. Still they have most songs you might think of, super fun!

I go here as often as I can! The bartenders are sometimes so busy that they aren't able to be particularly present, but I want to give a lil shoutout to Mia for being so attentive to my group this evening - we had my friend's surprise party at BKK and Mia kindly let us in early so we could get set up to shout "SURPRISE"! and when I circled back later to get a drink she asked me how the surprise went - even though the bar was busy, she remembered! Thanks for taking good care of us Mia :) Thanks BKK, will be back again soon✨

I went here over the weekend with some friends for a Bachelor Party. Baby Ketten did not disappoint! The vibes, the crowd, the service--all impeccable! Not only that, but the communication beforehand navigating reservations was superb, friendly, kind, and clear. I love karaoke so much, but lets be real there are some places that really aren't great and others that are great, but the bartenders are overworked, rude, or worse. It seemed like the bartenders here were really chill and pleased to be hosting such a dope spot. I think Baby Ketten is my new favorite karaoke bar!

“The weight of Ann Taylor Loft Dscourse” 🧙🍺👨🏻‍🎤🧗 SE Portland hums around me—traffic lights and neon buzz. Skateboards clatter past on cracked concrete. I lean against the brick, cigarette glowing, headphones humming my chosen world. I take them down from my ears. She’s talking—rambling, really—about all the corporate chains she loves at the mall. You know, any mall that somehow stands “thriving” at the end of the world. She tells me. I say “as if” in my head. Cheesecake Factory, Sephora, Bath & Body Works like they’re constellations only she can see. Her boyfriend arrives, all eagerness and inertia. She pivots, starts the whole litany over, same cadence, different audience. He nods along. I pull the headphones snug, tune out. The smoke curls upward, carrying my silence with it. One cigarette later, I pull the headphones down. She hasn’t missed a beat. “Ann Taylor Loft,” she says, with reverence usually reserved for gods, or graves. He nods again, dutiful acolyte in the cult of chain retail. And me? I’ve already passed the test. The mall won’t swallow me. The spiral won’t take me. I stub the cigarette, pocket my headphones, and step back into the night. Portland’s waiting—messy, loud, uncurated. The real story’s not in the mall. She and I did connect over a recent gift to my goddaughter: a Clair’s gift card. The banter was unexpectedly sweet. This place has a great patio, better bartenders, sidewalk seating, and plays Me First and the Gimmie Gimmies.

Delicious Latin food in an open seated market type at atmosphere. One of four restaurants to choose from at the specific corner tropical brings more of a Latin American, tropical fusion food beverage bites to the area. Order at the bar, get a number and pick a seat. Your food will be brought out to you. We took advantage of the happy hour menu and split a ceviche and chips and guacamole amongst poor people, and everyone ordered their own entrée as well. I’m not a big fan of octopus, but this place cooked it really well so it was not rubbery at all. The shrimp, fish and Barbacoa tacos were all flavorful and served on beautiful blue corn tacos with a nice house roasted salsa. The ceviche was by far my favorite with refreshing yellow citrus sauce. We slurped back our piña colada’s and mango margaritas which were delicious and just boozy enough. Definitely recommend for a good taco or if you want to accommodate other flavor pallets as there’s a few other restaurants nearby.

Bricks, boards, and bourbon. This is a neat mix of a sports bar, speakeasy, and modern tavern that's quite cozy to chill and hang around in, particularly if you're staying in the attached hotel. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and quick with the drinks and food. The calamari are pretty good, though the burgers look delicious, too.

We were heading to the Schnitz for a show, but with an hour to kill thought we'd check out this 'whiskey bar' in The Paramount Hotel. It's a really comfortable space, and the bar staff are really great. While they don't have the same level of offerings as MWL or Scotch Lodge, they do have a good mix of bourbons and single malts and the bartenders are quite knowledgable. Some really good Happy Hour bar food too. Need to make this a regular stop when downtown.

Mad Hanna is a laid-back and unassuming tavern that offers creative cocktails, pool, board games, and outdoor ping pong. Despite its rough appearance, the bar provides high-quality drinks and service in a welcoming atmosphere without any pretentiousness. It's a popular spot for grabbing affordable drinks with live DJ entertainment in the evenings. The bar features an outdoor patio with heaters for colder weather and offers a relaxed experience with board games and books available.
I came here for thr first time recently and we loved it. Had a great time and we were a pretty large group on a Saturday but we were able to find an area to sit/stand and play pool. The bartenders were all friendly and they also have fun jello shots. Cocktails and beer are fairly priced too! Fun watering hole in the neighborhood. Great dive bar with one pool table and a nice back patio. They play movies and spin vinyl while you chat with friends and enjoy your drink.
Nathan H — Google review
Don't let its rough-edged exterior (or interior, for that matter) scare you away: Mad Hanna is a low-brow dive with high-class cocktails and service, that has been abused (lovingly) by its patrons and proprietors. It knows what it is, and what it wants to be. Devoid of all pretentiousness, Mad Hanna is the sort of place where you also can come as you are, be who you want to be, without judgment, surrounded by like-minded, liquored up individuals seeking refuge from our collective weekday demons. In short, the kind of place I'd like to visit more often. Unlike most dives, you can get a fantastic, hand-crafted cocktail, that actually tastes like the drink you ordered, instead of the sort of watered-down, blasphemous amalgamation you'll find elsewhere. You can also just order a beer or a White Claw and get "White Girl Wasted" without feeling guilty. During our visit, there was a DJ spinning an eclectic mix of pseudo-country music that I am still struggling to put a label on; regardless, we enjoyed it. The usual offenders of pool tables and gambling machines occupy most of the inner space, although I feel like they could be cleared to create impromptu dance floor at the drop of a hat. There's also a semi-sequestered nook off to the right of the door, with comfy leather chairs and lit by twinkly lights, should you be in the mood(le) to canoodle. Dog friendly, open from 11am until 2:30am, 7 days a week. Food available from the Hannex café kitchen next door, seemingly at all hours of operation.

The place is super cool. The people are super nice. Could not have had a nicer staff. The patrons are also great.

Mad Hanna rules! Lots of comfortable and varied seating, both indoor and on the covered patio with heat lamps. I tried the sweet tea whiskey and it was really nice mixed with soda and lemon. There was a DJ spinning vinyl and slot machines, too!
Violet — Google review
The nicest bartenders work at what is really the only neighborhood bar in this part of cully. Fresh squeezed juice and infused liquors along with a fantastic back patio and regular vinyl DJs make me feel lucky this is my local
Andrew B — Google review
Good dive bar with a DJ, pool table, and pinball. Small local drinking hole but no food.
Kevyn M — Google review
One of the few bars in Portland checking vax cards even if you're just on the patio(s). Nice tap list, clean lines, great bartenders, and the dive vibe that I cherish.

Bar
Ship Ahoy Tavern, located in the heart of Portland, is a hidden gem worth exploring. The tavern offers a unique atmosphere with its uneven floor and alcove rooms. Despite its humble environment, it's known for its friendly bartenders and excellent pours. The hot food menu and drink specials are basic but serve their purpose.
This is a very humble environment. We come here for the drinks, not the ambiance. This place gives excellent pours. This is your bar if you want cheap drinks and good pours! They also have pinball, video poker, a pool table, and outdoor seating.
L. G — Google review
Always a nice time at the Ship Ahoy. Great bar staff, got a cool hoodie, but best of all, the ladies' restroom is surprisingly very clean. The vibes are good and always make my way back on a whim. 💗
Amber A — Google review
This place isn’t bad but a lot of the girl bartenders seems to have some attitude behind service especially if they feel like they deserve a bigger tip then 20% on top of the bill. Not gonna put any names but don’t be in the service industry & act rude to regulars like myself.
SWIFTxDaB X — Google review
Lindsay, Lindsay, Lindsay! Best BT! This is a great dive! Very few exist any more that are this cool. 4 pinball machines, one pool table. Awesome people hanging out drinking beer, etc. I highly recommend this dive.
D C — Google review
Really weird asking people if they've tipped. I covered someone else's tab because their system went down and they were still upset that I only tipped 2 bucks.I have dyscalcula and the bartender grabbed my elbow and tried to tell me I was 10 dollars under. I whipped out my calculator and she snacthed the receipt. I'm really sorry but I work in the industry too and asking for money is a big no no especially for a well drink that took no effort. Low quality bartenders.

Ships Ahoy Tavern is an incredible gem nestled in the heart of Portland, and it's undoubtedly a hidden treasure worth discovering. From the moment you step foot inside, you're transported to a world of deep dark diving fields, a captivating atmosphere that sets the stage for an unforgettable experience. The tavern's charm lies in its authenticity. The moment you walk through the creaky wooden door, you're greeted with warm smiles and hearty hellos from the friendly regulars who all hail from the neighborhood. It's a place where everyone knows your name, and if they don't yet, they soon will. The sense of community at Ships Ahoy is unparalleled, making it one of Portland's last remaining pillars of hope for genuine connections and camaraderie. The ambiance exudes an air of nostalgia, with vintage nautical décor adorning the walls, reminding patrons of the maritime history that shaped the city. The dim lighting casts enchanting shadows, adding to the allure of the tavern's deep, mysterious allure. Whether you're seeking a relaxed evening with friends or a solo adventure, Ships Ahoy caters to all, making it a versatile destination for any occasion. Now, let's talk about the drinks. Ah, the drinks! Ships Ahoy boasts an impressive selection of libations that will satisfy every palate. From classic cocktails to craft beers and delightful wine choices, there's something for everyone. But what sets this tavern apart is the affordable pricing. The cheap drinks don't compromise on quality, ensuring you can enjoy a night out without breaking the bank. As the night progresses, live music fills the air, elevating the atmosphere to new heights. Local talents grace the stage, serenading the crowd with soulful melodies that create a lively and spirited energy within the tavern's walls. It's the perfect harmony of good music and good company that makes for an unforgettable night. The service at Ships Ahoy is nothing short of exceptional. The staff members are not only attentive but also genuinely passionate about their craft. Their friendly demeanor and attentive nature add another layer of comfort to the whole experience, making you feel right at home from the moment you sit down. In conclusion, Ships Ahoy Tavern is a beacon of authenticity in a world that often seems too fast-paced and detached. With its deep dark diving field, fantastic drinks, and a community of welcoming folks, it remains a testament to the soul of Portland. So, the next time you find yourself in the city, venture off the beaten path and let Ships Ahoy Tavern be your guiding light towards an extraordinary night out.

Bar
Mousetrap Tavern, located off Lombard, is a hidden gem offering a pool table and a restaurant serving up delicious WT charcuterie platters. The menu includes mozzarella sticks, fries, and mini corn dogs. The drinks are reasonably priced, and during weekend brunch, you can enjoy Hungry Man TV dinners from the freezer for $3.50. Whether indoors or on the patio outside, you can dine and drink in a relaxed atmosphere.
I love this bar. Great deals on quality dive bar food staples. Good place to grab breakfast on the weekend too. All of the staff are awesome people. If you like it a little rough around the edges and can appreciate true local North Portland culture, you'll enjoy this bar. The mousetrap is like a ductape encrusted hug. Warm, comforting and a little sticky. I never want this place to change.

I really like this Dive bar. Clean for how warn it is. Great staff. Nice regulars. I got a burger. The patty was not my fav. Really need some heat outside..If it had that Id go more in the cooler months.

You come for the atmosphere and charm. Everything else is friendly dive bar. Bartenders are always super nice and on top of their game

The bartender, phaedra, was a tornado. One woman show. She was amazing! Quick service! Great food, inexpensive, quick service. I can't wait to come back.

Every time i go it is the same sweet girl and my burger is perfect every time, juicy and delicious as well as my mom and aunts too, perfect, keep her as long as you can, perfect cook and service to boot! 🥾 thank you so much for giving me a wonderful experience every time. That burger place up the street got nothing on you guys with a cook like that! 🙂

Solid dive bar, in the classic sense. Low staff, cheap prices, video gambling, small beer choice, cocktails, no wine list, pool, no gd jukeboxes, unruly older drunks sometimes -- exactly what my heart wants -- and their food game is at least diner quality. Their burgers have gotten really good lately.
Will C — Google review
Chill no frills bar with a great outdoor patio and a free cornhole setup. Bartender was super nice and drinks were cold. Classic bar menu with shoestring fries as an available option.

Someday in Portland is a versatile spot that caters to various preferences. It's a hidden gem with a speakeasy vibe, yet it's also casual and family-friendly. The atmosphere is described as clean, crisp, and approachable with friendly staff. Visitors praise the delicious cocktails and diverse menu options. The restaurant offers a wonderful patio space for enjoying drinks on sunny days and even has food carts available for ordering.
Had a fantastic margarita here with my bestie. The bartender was really nice and made me a spicy margarita. Her colleague shared some spice recommendations for tequila. Nice atmosphere. Sweet spot.

Someday is probably my favorite place to go in Portland, whether it’s a celebration or I’ve had a rough week and just want to unwind for a few hours, this place always has exactly what I need. I love that their drink and food menu is always changing so there are always new surprises to discover. They also are very gluten-free friendly which is always nice On Sundays they have oysters and the BBQ oysters are probably one of the very best things I have eaten during my life. Most of all, everyone who works there is so kind and welcomes me like family which makes it feel like a real refuge. Thank you Someday for creating such a special place.

Stumbled upon this place while exploring Richmond area. Cute and cozy space. Great service. We had flat bread and salami with sparkling wine Bisson, it was very good. There’s a pizza food cart outside as well. It was delicious as well.
Elena P — Google review
I’ve never had such outstanding butter beans as I did here at Someday. Had a delicious fun cocktail and great wine by the glass. Superb, thoughtful service and perfect, relaxed atmosphere.
Jeanne E — Google review
The perfect place for a Sunday afternoon cocktail and snack. The location is hidden in a cute alley on Division. Service was friendly and helpful. Snacks were delicious. Cocktails were exactly what we were hoping for.
Jodi J — Google review
Someday is our favorite place to meet friends for drinks and food, our kids love joining us and also setting up at their own table to have sibling dates or friend dates. The entire staff is so kind and welcoming, being here feels like being home. The N/A drink menu is phenomenal and who doesn’t love the celery salad and a side of chips with dip? Do yourself a favor, get over here! PS don’t skip dessert.
Nicole W — Google review
Off the regular grid of SE Division store front spaces... but don't let their small sign fool you. Within the larger space and back patio lies a genuine relaxed upscale restaurant and bar that caterers to all. Simple and elevated dishes with a fun and vibrant atmosphere. Expect a playful menu and staff who can steer you towards the best items to fit your desires. Smaller food carts are on the patio, but you can order from all ...food and drink. Always check Instagram hours and possible private events that take place.
Amy C — Google review
The space is beautiful, and the drinks are great, but if you have any food allergies... just be warned the staff might not be very accommodating (or, at the very least, will be annoyed with you). Hoping it was just my experience/one-off because I do love the space and the offerings! But felt important to share.

Comala is a fantastic discovery with an impressive selection of drinks. The bartenders are skilled at creating delicious custom cocktails based on your preferences, and they also infuse their own spirits with unique flavors like vodka sesame and cardamom. The tequila, mezcal, and bourbon options are equally impressive. The atmosphere is vibrant, with great music adding to the experience.
I had a wonderful time here. I showed up too late for dinner next door so stopped here for a drink to figure out next steps. Our drinks were exquisite. Service was awesome. Bar was chill and had a good vibe. I will definitely return when in the city
Dom — Google review
Wonderful little spot in NW. Neighboring and connected to De Noche all the food and bites are incredibly high quality and hand made tortillas !! The selection of Mezcal and Mexican Spirits is wonderful ! All the cocktails I’ve had there have been very complex and unique. Dan is a great Mixologist. Open late on Friday and Saturday - Great little spot to check out.
Leo C — Google review
Fabulous drink selection. I was struggling because I wanted one of everything, and our server suggested letting the bartender create something based on the flavors I was looking for. The result was an incredibly delicious passion fruit mezcal drink that rocked my world. They infuse some of their spirits too. One was vodka sesame, another with cardamom - super cool. Impressive tequila and mezcal selection, and still had room at the bar for a great bourbon selection too! The music was also great!
Richard — Google review
We ordered two disappointing cocktails. The first, which I believe, was the El Virrey. Flavors were not unified. The second, blanking on the name but started with “pan de —“, similarly fell short. When egg whites are used, it’s usually for adding either a rich, silky texture or reducing an intense flavor. This cocktail did neither. The crushed ice filling up the tall glasses didn’t help in terms of 1) stirring to further mix the drink 2) leaving room to enjoy the egg white foam. Excellent service and food looked tasty. Might give it another shot if I’m back in town.
Eugene C — Google review
We had an exceptional experience at Comala. The drinks menu came with a diagram of the flavor profile AND how each was served. Why doesn’t every bar do this? If you want wine it’s all Mexican. Then the food we ordered (skirt steak tacos, chilaquiles but very elevated, and padron peppers) arrived and every dish was wonderful. Highly recommended.
Jennifer K — Google review
We went there a a small group with the intention of tasting several different tequilas. We were treated so well! The red carpet was rolled out and we had a great time and learned so much from our server. I highly recommend Comala. Food was also unique and delicious.
Chris A — Google review
Honestly some of the best tacos I've ever had. No Ive never been to the Tex-Mex area BUT I've had my fair share of tacos on the east and west coast. Got the four sampler with papas fritas and my favorite was the Al Pastor, the flavor and texture were absolutely perfect. The additions on top were classic cilantro onions so the meats could shine, and personally for my taste I don't think I can do too many greasy foods so the pork belly and cheek from the other tacos added up a bit but nonetheless were very tasty. The potato's were well made with a nice feta and herb topping. Would come again.
Malcolm T — Google review
The drinks and bartenders are great. Often times they have older black and white movies playing in the background. Not to mention their bar food is made from the kitchen with some ingredients from Denoche next door. They occasionally have pop ups and mix it up with different events. Highly reccomend them for a date night or even with friends.
