Unrivalled dining experience! Every aspect of the evening was perfect, from the initial welcome to the final farewell, the staff know how to make your evening a delight, a sensible amount of humour with a respectful level of service, not invasive or oppressive, just brilliant. The food was just as I might have hoped for and it did not disappoint, it was so good we found ourselves sharing tastes, not something we would normally do. I can honestly say I am excited about the prospect of my next visit...which can't come soon enough. Thank you to every member of staff who make this customer experience so perfect.

This place is absolutely excellent. 5 stars in all areas! The mussels were some of the best I have ever had, incredible sauce and fantastic bread! For dessert I had a scoop of chocolate ice cream and a scoop of pistachio and saffron which was a very interesting flavour but actually really worked. Considering the outstanding quality of food served here the price is incredibly reasonable. No more expensive then pub grub yet a million times better!

The setting had a wow factor as soon as we arrived. We were greeted initially by truly outstanding friendly staff, and made to feel extremely welcome. The food was just exquisite throughout all our courses. What a jewel in the culinary crown.

We had dinner at the Barn in May, 4 adults, two pescatarian. It seems hard to find many good fish restaurant in Gloucestershire but this is definitely one. We had a couple of nibbles, crispy Salmon skins & padron peppers, parfait small plate, fish & chips, seafood platter, smoked platter & the artichoke plate. Everyone devoured everything, portion size was good & drinks prices reasonable. They saved the best until last with the desserts, Strawberry & vanilla tart, lemon meringue éclair & raspberry marquis. Not the cheapest with a total bill of around £180, only one drink each and one was drinking water anyway, but still felt like value for money. Location is a modern Barn conversion, as the name suggests, tastefully interior in stone. Agood evening all around.

We had a delicious meal for four of us. It was a real treat, and our choice of the hot fish platter was perfect. Although we could’ve done with more paper towels and finger washing bowls as it was so finger licking good! All the puddings were melt in the mouth perfect too. The staff were attentive and fun and created a great atmosphere. The restaurant was packed, and yet it seemed calm and well managed. Obviously the place to come for a posh lunch out that doesn’t break the bank. Lovely little trip to the shop and deli and fish counter downstairs too on our way out. Thankyou.

Really unique to have such a casual, inviting and friendly cafe in such a beautiful building. They made a great vegetarian breakfast.

We went to this cafe for race week for the first time and now been back 2 more times since to try out the other meals. The breakfast was lovely, the beef roast dinner is delicious and our reaction when the Beef Burger turned up was wow! The staff here are lovely too and made us feel very welcome. They are dog friendly too and even put sausages in a bowl and water down for our little fury friend to enjoy while we were there. We can't wait to try out the Steak night soon Trish!

This is such a great little cafe! We holiday in Gloucester every year in November and found this place a couple of years back now. Since then its become a ritual that we visit for breakfast at least once during our holiday. Its a wonderful little place, right next to the cathedral in a quirky old building. Theres always a lovely warm welcome and atmosphere here which we really enjoy. The staff are smiley and friendly and manage the busy service well. The breakfast is always top quality, hot and great value and there are good options for those not wanting a fry up, including a vegan breakfast option. Theres 5 of us and a dog most times we visit with various dietary requirements and requests and the staff manage our complicated orders well and when we ordered an extra sausage for the dog it even came out already chopped up and cooled down ready for the pooch to eat! (We were quite impressed with that haha) This really is a must visit cafe to any Gloucester local or visitor, but its popular and often busy so we always book and would reccommend others do too!

One of Gloucester's best independent cafe's. Went in 2022 for lunch and enjoyed the lovely cakes. Brilliant setting next to the cathedral and always friendly and good for tourists. Looking forward to paying a visit soon!

The Comfy Pew is great little cafe in what's probably the most beautiful part of Gloucester, but what really shines out is the lovely staff. I was there with a friend having a very extended tea and chat and we were still there at closing time. Not only did we not feel like we were being rushed out the door, but the staff were so kind and patient to an older chap who came in. The chap was clearly very confused but they spoke to him kindly and made him a cuppa, even though they were clearly closing up for the day. Big kudos to you all for your kindness.

Stopped in Gloucester for a night and after hunting for a nice spot to have breakfast, my boyfriend and I stumbled across this little gem. I had the Choristers breakfast, and my partner had the pancakes which he enjoyed thoroughly. The staff were so friendly and welcoming and we left with full stomachs and feeling rested. Highly recommend!

Lovely little place to stop off for a walk, grab a coffee and learn about the history of the forest. Great for kids with activities for little ones too. My daughter made a bag which she was delighted with.

Absolutely beautiful place to visit if you can. Even just to sit by the lake and enjoy the peace and quiet. If you use the cafe, I would recommend taking some cash as the card machine wouldn't work today, and we had to walk downstairs to make payment from the gift shop and then walk back upstairs. The cafe could have done with more staff, especially because so many people were queued up wanting to place orders, etc. Unfortunately, the lady was rushed off her feet, making coffee's etc.

Headed here as I thought a bit of local history would be good to explore, and what a gem. I arrived on foot but there looked like there were ample parking facilities, I believe free. You make your way through exhibitions of local working history, domestic history, the surroundings, archaeological and people renowned in the area. Informative, displays that aren't yardidge of boring writing, but small bits of info with actual objects to see and/or touch. Superb small mine and charcoal reenactment displays outside and a charming Gruffalo trail, with large wooden figures carved by the onsite sculptor! Not just one for the kids! They have a playground too. Lovely cafe, good selection at usual prices, I only had tea but saw a couple with baguettes and salad, it looked delicious. Well worth a visit, a real hidden wonder.

We had such a lovely day at the Dean Heritage Centre in Soudley. The kids adored the Gruffalo Trail and spent ages in the playground, and the staff couldn’t have been nicer or more welcoming. It was a hot day so we treated ourselves to ice creams and coffees, which were spot on, and then wandered across the road to explore Soudley Ponds. The children loved hunting for painted rocks to rehide – such a simple but magical little extra. A brilliant family day out we’ll definitely recommend and do again!

Quite an interesting museum-cum-heritage centre coupled with a Gruffalo trail. Costs £9pp unless a concession applies, which I think is a bit on the steep side. The museum depicts life in days gone by and has plenty of exhibits, although it's not very interactive for visitors. The Gruffalo trail tells the children's story and has the characters on the trail, realistically it takes 15 minutes to do. Cafe and gift shop on site selling the usual bits at the usual prices, latte and traditional pasty both very good.

Lovely place to visit to see the history of the forest. Good cafe over looking the mill pond.

Popped into this tearoom today and was really impressed. The staff were super friendly and welcoming, which made the whole visit feel relaxed and enjoyable. I ordered the Eggs Benedict and it was absolutely amazing – perfectly cooked and full of flavour. A nice touch was that they even have a special doggy sausage on the menu at no extra cost, which my four-legged friend loved just as much as I enjoyed my breakfast. Great atmosphere, great food, and a place I’ll definitely be visiting again!

Such a fabulous tearoom with a fantastic menu. Friendly, welcoming staff and great atmosphere. We regularly come here, usually for lunch but occasionally breakfast. They cater for various allergies and have a wide range of gluten free choices. We have also had take aways (ploughman’s, afternoon tea and Sunday lunches) which are best ordered in advance. We highly recommend a visit, booking is advisable to avoid disappointment! Looking forward to our next visit very soon!

Firstly, make sure you book! We were super lucky to get a space & grateful we were! We had afternoon tea & it was such good value for money! Giant doorstop bread, fresh produce & a scone nearly as big as my fist! Our waitress was amazing & really went above and beyond and I’m so grateful for her hospitality (sorry I didn’t catch her name - lady with the red hair). If we were local, we’d be in regularly!

The best scones I’ve had while in England , still warm , fluffy and clearly fresh out of the oven. The savoury scones are to die for. Generous portions and such lovely, friendly staff . A wonderful place .

Really lovely place, staff were brilliant, food was amazing. I took my partner for afternoon tea on her birthday and we both loved it, good portion sizes, tasty cakes and really nice scones.

Went today without a reservation, did get a table though it was quite busy. Would recommend booking in future. The food was superb, we both had the full English with a pot of tea. All fabulous. Only complaint, if you could call it that, is we would have liked a bit bigger pot of tea each. Otherwise nothing to complain about. Defo going back again.

My friend and I had Breakfast here last week. The food was beautifully cooked and presented (best fried bread ever). Small and cosy so best to book for lunch. I'll come again.

We were on a short break in Nailsworth and thought we will try a local bread. We found this Hobbs House Bakery and thought a large loaf ‘St Martin Sourdough’ looked very delicious. The bakery attendant asked us if we wanted it sliced and we said yes. We were surprised to get not a freshly sliced bread that we had hoped to get but a stale already sliced bread and paid £5.70 for it! I would not recommend this bakery and their stale bread to anyone.

Lovely bakery with a variety of food like cakes, sandwiches, sausage roll and bread. You can drink your coffee next to a lovely stream. Good coffee as well.

This is in my opinion the nicest Bakery in Nailsworth with the best selection. The sausage rolls and breakfast baps were delicious followed by a really nice okd-school jam doughnut. All the staff were lovely and clearly a favourite with the locals too as the upstairs cafe was bustling alongside cyclists outside refuelling with delicious treats.

Had some really not very good stuff from here of late. Their sourdough wasn't great and the french pastries are just wrong, they are really breaddy and not very good at all. Nailsworth has far better bakers these days.

Went to hobbs house bakery in nailsworth. Had a Cornish Pasty and a millionaire shortbread. It was great. The corish pastry could tell made fresh that day all good quality ingredients chunks of meat with the diced veg. Was perfectly seasoned and warm too. Millionaire shortbread had a good ration of thirds with large chunk of caramel. Would have liked little bit large bit of chocolate on top but nevertheless very tasty. What I had was delicious. Havent been in while, only small downside is the server said they stopped server the mini fresh pizzas a while ago. That was Main reason I came back. Even though was minor disappointment wasn't what I was after was very pleased with what they had instead. Would definitely recommend.

Been here a few times for the cafe, always friendly staff, and always good food. I have tried the breakfast and a number of other items, but my favourite has to be the chilli billy which is chilli jam and roasted goats cheese on St Martin’s sour dough, it’s fabulous. Good choice of tea and coffee, but make sure you try the chilli billy.

A brilliant bakery selling a range of goods, from fresh loaves to custard tarts. Many are made with speciality grains and they also do vegan food. The sausage rolls are amazing.

Only wanted the cafe to eat but firstly there are signs everywhere telling you to pay for parking but not where the machines are. Very poor. Then when you pay at cafe you have the long walk back to car to put ticket on show. Then back to cafe where we ordered 2 bacon baps and sausage roll, they got order wrong twice and had to repeatedly tell her again. It was under cooked bacon and tasted cheap but the price was not cheap. Left it on table and walked out. Would stay away from here, wished we had.

Excellent cafe next to the main car park, playground, and toilet block. Plenty of seating inside and out and interesting menu. A great place to stop if you are walking the trails in the forest.

My friend and I visited this cafe after our Go Ape adventure. Even though it was possible near their closing time all the staff seemed so happy, enthusiastic and very friendly with us. They went above and beyond by making me a special ice cream milkshake, picking out the biggest slices of cake and giving out free sausage rolls as end of day, very thoughtful and nice not to see unwanted food just chucked away. We will definitely be back but next time bring the dogs on an adventure too.

Well I would hate to know the overheads for this place, we paid £16.65 for 2 sausage rolls a latte and a tea, honestly if you are visiting this place, take a picnic it will make less of a dent in your wallet. To add insult to injury, as we waited for our order, one server approached us and asked us if we were waiting, the staff had completely forgotten about our order and gone out back for a chin wag, I don’t like leaving negative reviews, but some places make it very difficult to look for the positives, however the inside is clean and welcoming,.

A high-quality full English and a great-looking sandwich menu. The café is clean, spacious and modern. The only downside is having to pay for parking if you're not a Forestry England member.

Visited on a very busy bank holiday Monday, so there were a lot of people ordering food and drink. Despite this, the service was great and food came out quickly. Had run out of plant based sausage rolls unfortunately. Cakes were lovely. Nice large cups for the tea. Loved that it was super dog friendly, with frozen yoghurt available to cool our pup down after the sculpture trail walk. Howie was very welcoming and friendly. Only recommendation would be to have umbrellas available for all tables, for a space to cool down on a warmer day.

I chose the Juicy Beef Brisket and Gravy Stack burger. The chef told me I was the first one to order it and asked for my feedback, which I really appreciated 😇. First of all, it was very meaty and full of flavour. For me, a burger usually comes with fries, but this one didn’t—it came with gravy sauce instead, just so you know. It’s also not served in a typical burger bun, as mentioned in the description. If you don’t consider it a traditional burger, it was still very delicious—I definitely recommend it!

I almost walked on by, as if I'd just approached Dionne Warwick bawling her eyes out. I'm glad I didn't, the coffee was delicious. Met by a delightful young man, ably assisted by all the other peeps on the business side of the counter. This establishment is cost effective in the extreme. Well worth a visit next time you're in Gloucester. ☕️👍😊

We stopped in here to have a bite to eat after a long day of driving. The food and service were exceptional. The two young staff members were attentive, friendly and extremely welcoming. Service was fast and product knowledge was brilliant. Once the food arrived it was really great too. Freshly made and full of flavour. The menu was extensive and lots of options for us. The whole meal was excellent value for money and I would highly recommend this little tea room to anyone passing by.

I stumbled on this place and liked the look of it. Had a nice scone and tea. Lovely, attentive staff, relaxed atmosphere, much better quality and prices than at the chains you find nearby.

two friends and I went for cream tea here today and I must say it was very pleasant, the tea was beautiful, and the scones were lush. We had a very enjoyable time and can not wait to try all your other delicious looking menu items!! very good for the price

Wonderful independant tea/coffee/breakfast/lunch place in the very center of Gloucester Went there two times in less than 24hr ! My scone with clotted cream & jam was delicious. My porridge was super tasty. Tea was perfect. Friendly vibes, lovely staff, great music... It feels warm and confy to see all the regular customers come and go here... I highly recommend !

I come here occasionally always a small queue even first thing in the morning so proves how good it is. The staff are always efficient and friendly. Has a cosy relaxed atmosphere and the notice board advertises events for a diverse community and if different interests so welcoming for all. My only fault is the place could do with a really good clean especially where the coffee is made and display cabinet is often dusty but proves how busy they are.

Last week Thursday I received the best customer service. The staff were very kind and helpful even though they had been broken into. The team were so friendly and told me to come back later on. They cleaned up the store super fast and made sure it was safe for customers. Thomas Fields review was not understanding to the store and they explained really well what had happened. Well done!

Ordered on their click and collect via the nero app. However when I arrived they had blocked the entrance and were inside chatting and hoovering, despite being 30 minutes past opening. Didn't receive coffee, nor a refund as the agent despite the agents assurances. Just sheer incompetence. Bought coffee from them 4x a week for the last 3 years and off the back of this I would heavily discourage visiting. Go to the quays instead, much better service for your caffiene fix.

It's over priced and their latte is bitter and disgusting. If you buy from the one down the Quays, the latte is fine. I really don't understand how they make it so bad.

Been here a couple of times now and always had great service by the friendly staff. I have had a number of different items on the menu which has always been very tasty and ample portion sizes. If you are ever in the area I would highly recommend.

Dog friendly and vegan options! I loved this place so much! They were dog welcoming, loads of seating inside and out, fresh water and treats for the dogs too. Wide menu options and happy to make alterations for dietary requirements. Cute book section with donation to charity. Toilets were lovely and clean too. Lovely local cafe that were really kind to tourists. AND THE CARROT CAKE WAS AMAZING!

We arrived at 11.45 hoping to order late breakfast and as the menu stated breakfast between 9am and 12 midday we thought this was not going to be an issue - unfortunately we tried ordering breakfast but we're told they had gone onto the lunch menu - staff were attentive and good was fresh and arrived promptly - we did have to wait to pay the bill as one staff member was covering both upstairs and downstairs whilst the other two were vaping at the back of the building. Lovely food - would visit again but give plenty of time if you want breakfast

Called in here while out for a ride. The carpark is behind the cafe but you have to drive through a yard with small commercial units to get to it. The service and the food were good and the cafe had a good atmosphere. There is inside and outside seating.

We arrived to have a lovely lunch here, after a long walk. Arrived at 2.26pm for lunch to be told the kitchen was closed… website said open till 4pm. Ordered a latte and 2 cakes ( all there was to eat !! ) , asked for still water to drink, only tap water available and was bought out not even a full glass !

This is an excellent cafe and local community asset, not expensive and very good service.Its busy and yet we had great service. It's useful if walking the local routes, it's got a covered smoking area and grass area for outside eating, with dog bowl and bike stand, convenient for the Gloucestershire Way walk and definitely worth a visit.

couldn't write a review quick enough - when you find a great place you just need to share - fantastic customer service from the start - early am message to them - replied very quickly - great atmosphere - quaint and cosy - real coffee house feel - and they have their own roastery - as a coffee lover this is such a bonus and really makes this a true coffee house -- the coffee omg so smooth and full of flavour, - dare i say bought just a few kilos of it - staff very helpful, friendly and happy, knowledgeable - who find time to make you feel welcome and have a natter - they also accommodated for my special dietry needs with out making me feel uncomfortable - to finish - if you like a qualify coffeee, good food and friendly service - this coffee house is really worth the visit - defiantly will be visiting again when in the area - also a home independent business to support - thank you to all the team and to the roaster nice to meet you as well xt and andy

My initial impression of Hips Social when I viewed it from the high street was one of disappointment. The exterior has seen better days and there was condensation on the windows. When you enter, you feel that you are experiencing something special. Inside, it is a proper cool cafe with an awesome espresso setup. The staff are attentive and the coffee is OFF THE CHARTS!

In my opinion this place makes Lydney! Has become my go to whenever i can. Wether I'm on my own, with the dog, or even the whole family. We always enjoy the food and atmosphere. Great coffee and extremely kind staff.

An amazing coffee shop! I adore the food here. Simple, tasty and well priced. I'm not a fan of the coffee, it's a fruitier bean than I like. But they offer loads of other drinks. We ordered straight away and food arrived piping hot within about 15 mins all freshly cooked and so tasty. Their chips are the best... Real fried chips with Tom's seasoning. Yum!

Fantastic coffee and cakes! Stopped off here after a walk in The Forest Of Dean and enjoyed an amazing coffee and some delicious cakes. I enjoyed the coffee so much that I bought a bag to take with me and have been enjoying it at home. Friendly staff and great service too. They use a lot of locally sourced produce and are also dog friendly so thumbs up all round!

Lovely food, although the milkshake is freshly made it was a bit disappointing for the price (would want something a little thicker and visually more enticing). Burrito and toasted sandwiches were good quality and tasty. It feels like a cafe (which it is) but that detracts a little from the atmosphere. Recommended for a lunch snack or light bite.

We were lucky to find Hips Social whilst we were camping locally. Fantastic coffee and lovely food. The staff were so friendly. We could tell that this has a real community vibe and were made to feel welcome by other customers too. We will definitely come back when we are back in this area.

Dog friendly and vegan options! Absolutely loved this place. We took our Border Collie with us and the staff were lovely. Lots of seating. Food was beautiful and the chef offered if we wanted an alternative he could do that. Toasties were awesome. Vegan options were lovely. Coffee was great. Cake was delicious also. Oh and the chips were lush, had smoked paprika on them, definitely a 10/10 for this place from me.

Nice little coffee shop at the Heritage Centre. Very dog friendly and our dogs were offered a sausage and were very happy. Nice choice of meals including dairy free and vegan options.

Love coming here for a coffee or lunch. One of the best places in the Forest to just have a refreshing pit-stop, meet up with friends/family or to just take in the surrounding beauty whilst relaxing. Saw the Kingfisher here a few times now - which is just wonderful.

A good place to rest the ol’ legs after a leisurely stroll through the Forest of Dean. Good food, sensible pricing, and a lovely “Pay it Forward” board, allowing anyone to grab some free grub - or pay for a strangers’. Five fingers means five stars! Or should I say four fingers and a thumb.

Tried to come once. Really wasn't impressed as had cash on me and they was like we don't take cash only card. Like bit unhelpful. 99% of places take both. Second try cane back with card got 3x drinks. 3x snacks. And as you can see was £22 nearly £23. Only positive was my strawberry collie thingy, and pastry nice. Negative only taking card silly should equate to all customers. Starbucks set up like regular coffee shop but it's strange as no prices on cakes, and not many options for drinks, not a wide choice Aside from negatives staff was nice and friendly

I go to a LOT of coffee shops and this is my FAV! Coffee is delish, wifi is strong, barristas are friendly and skillful. Whole place feels fresh and has a real energy.

Many moons ago I had a cappuccino in Starbucks and it was just a cup of froth. This was only my second visit since their opening in Stroud. Last time I tried the egg Nog latte ,which was very nice..tho I was unaware when I said yes to cream on top it would be an extra charge, taking it to well over £5! it was also served in a white ceramic mug so didn't look like the beautifully crafted layered picture on the board . Nevertheless I gave them another go and not being a big coffee drinker I went for a chai latte..a matcha latte to be precise. Not for me . Health benefits it may have . Nice taste..it does not. Paying is by card only , also noticed the toilets were out of order. I couldn't get any internet in their ,either my own or theres. ( Unaware if there was WiFi anyway) Seating inside is not very cosy. They do have a really nice outdoor space. Appeared very clean inside and if you are a Starbucks regular no doubt it will appeal to you.

My experience at this particular Starbucks is the best it's ever been I would totally recommend checking them out service is quick food is amazing and the overall atmosphere is very good will deffinetly will be comming again I would love to recognise 4 of the members who I've been served by Mia svetlana corina and Ellis I belive that thoose 4 should be given a special day off for the hard work they've been doing and that Ellis and corina should be given a raise

Decent coffee, very polite service and a nice atmosphere. I had a few hours to kill while waiting for a car serive to be done, and it was a great place to sit and relax. There is free WiFi and power points all around, so I could work on my laptop while waiting and enjoying some very good coffee. Great coffee shop, I would highly reccomend.

My favourite Costa by far! Wanted a very specific mocha order this morning and Tiv and Dave were so accommodating and lovely! Such a lush way to start a Thursday morning before work

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Costa, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience, primarily due to the outstanding customer service provided by Ben. From the moment I walked in, Ben greeted me with a warm and genuine smile, instantly making me feel welcomed. Ben's attentiveness and professionalism were evident throughout my visit. He took the time to listen to my preferences and made thoughtful recommendations that suited my taste perfectly. His knowledge about the menu was impressive, and he described each option with enthusiasm, making it clear that he is passionate about his job. What truly stood out was Ben & ellie Rebecca ability to make each customer feel special. Despite the café being busy, he managed to attend to everyone with the same level of care and attention. They maintained a cheerful demeanor and was quick to address any requests, ensuring that the service was both efficient and personalized. The strawberry bubble farappe itself was delightful, but it was Ben’s exceptional service that made the experience memorable. He went above and beyond to ensure that I had everything I needed, and his friendly nature created a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere. In a world where customer service can often feel impersonal, Ben's & ellie Rebecca outstanding service at Costa was a refreshing change. His dedication and genuine care for customers are commendable, and I will undoubtedly be returning for both the excellent strawberry bubble farappe and the superb service. Thank you, Ben, for making my visit so wonderful!

Fairly busy Costa Coffee tucked out of the way in Gloucester's triangle, close to the Morrison store and just off the main road. With the usual Costa service including drive-through. Service was as you'd expect. There were a few empty tables when we arrived, all of which were cleared, no dead cups or mugs which seems to be standard at most coffee shops these days. There were quite a few comfy seats. Disappointed that some of the comfy seats appeared heavily stained and marked - they could certainly do with either a good clean or replacing. Drinks standard, although surprised that when we ordered my skinny latte there was no size choice offered 🤔.

The best Costa Coffee shop EVER!!! The chap who runs the shop is an absolute LEGEND and all of his staff are second to none!! I have never been to a coffee shop where you have been so looked after and always greeted with a smile! 10/10

A very nice garden centre. Well presented and lots to look at. A great range of indoor and outdoor plants as well as ornaments, gardening tools and a cafe. They also sell dog toys and treats. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful with lots of advice on plant care. I now have a lovely monstera and peace Lily.

Went to the Fernary restaurant a few weeks ago for coffee and cake which was lovely. I vowed to return for lunch sometime as the quiches looked yummy. Went today with my siblings for something nice to do on the anniversary of our mum's passing, she loved a good garden centre. My sister and I had the quiche with and salad (and the add of Waldorf and potato salad) and the boys had the coronation chicken sandwich (served with salad and crisps) It did not disappoint. Lovely food, great service and one of the loveliest garden centres for setting. Both times I've been we were served by the same delightful lady, nothing too much trouble. We were also visited by a robin, "when robins appear, loved ones are near" so we felt mum was with us too. Thank you so much for giving us a lovely experience on a sad day.

Very lovely garden centre and as they say, it's not just a garden centre, it's a journey. Really love the diversity of the plants and decor, and the cafe as well. A knowledgeable gentleman helped me to pick a Japanese maple tree and shared with me the caring tips. Very happy with my find and my time there.

Excellent garden centre for getting ideas, asking for help and generally avoiding chains that are tantamount to supermarkets for garden stuff. Overhead someone say that the plants are good specimens. Completely agree. They supply Gold medal winning gardens at Chelsea so it's in their interest. Great cafe too.

Unusual garden center tucked away down a lane near Huntley. Great selection of indoor plants and more unusual outdoor perennials, shrubs and trees. Lovely coffee shop serving hot and cold drinks, breakfast and lunch selections, and cakes at a reasonable price. Easy parking. Ideal for a wet Saturday. Dog friendly.

Utterly fantastic garden centre with a twist. Imagine a garden centre crossed with an arboretum crossed with a botanic garden of sorts. And you'll be about there. The company, as the name suggests, is foliage based, no horrible blousy begonias here just glorious stately and small plants with beautiful and amazing leaves etc. Beautifully laid out. The first Parton the shop feeling like walking through a beautiful green house at a botanic garden. Lots of little area with other goods for sale such as clothing or foods. There is also a great cafe here. With lovely coffee and lunches at a very reasonable price. Well worth a visit.

Visiting Leaf Creative is a wonderful experience. Delicious lunches served sitting amongst beautiful plants and trees….this is a nursery like no other and a very special place! Staff very helpful….the music was immediately turned down when I requested it as my 94 yr old mother and myself wanted to talk. Dog was given fresh water and everyone very smiley and helpful. Great clothes outlet too; Raft…..where we always find something fashionable! Such a special place just off the A40 in a wild part of Gloucestershire. Thank you….. you made our weekend 😎

What can I say about this place wow they saved the day. After we was let down by our own holiday provider we frantically searched for bike hire. We came across these and was not disappointed we hired x5 bikes all catered for all in tip top condition. All Wyte bikes we arrived to a well run hire team who couldn’t do enough x5 lads all taken care of seamlessly. The routes around the cycle centre were unbelievable too it caters for all levels we did the family route of 9 miles of colliers trail then back to centre and up to pump tracks and all trails. Thoroughly enjoyed myself here and shout out to all of the team. Thanks from us all

Great place for bike hire. And lovely cafe. Excellent to start a family trail or downhill cycling. We love FoD ❤️

I have rented bikes twice from them, between different years. They are very friendly and helpful. The bikes are great and if you encounter an issue you can cycle back to get it fixed quickly.

Amazing trails, the official ones are suburb and the off piste ones are brilliant. We've been coming for years and still find new trails all the time. You have a great cafe, bike shop, bike hire, coaching, work shop and bike wash. My only criticism is the parking is really expensive at seven pounds a day non of the cash goes to the upkeep of the trails. It really is a place to bring everyone and has trails suited to little ones on their balance bikes all the way to full on DH runs. For me it's the best uk trail center.

Great experience here. Booked 2 bikes with a child seat for a toddler and a trailer for a 7 month old. Greeted by friendly staff with helpful instructions and map. Lovely 10 mile circular route (Colliers trail) that was very well signposted. It took us 1 ½ hours to get to Mallards Pike where we ate at the cafe. Then 45 mins to cycle back to the bike shop. Pretty woodland with decent ground for cycling, not smooth tarmac but still fine for our little one in the trailer. We all had a lovely day. Highly recommended

Went in with a rear puncture with visible buckle to the rim. Thought wheel was toast but all that was needed was a new inner tube. They said buckle is only minor. 5 minutes later and £10 spent they got the bike sorted and my boy was back on the trails. Awesome service!

Called up in advance to see how much this would cost, was told 25£ each only to drive an hour to the location and be charged £38 each, since we’d already driven and payed £7.50 for parking we decided to go ahead despite feeling scammed. Couldn’t pay cash or contactless so you needed the physical card, which luckily enough I had, but the payment wouldn’t work as it needed approval from me (which wouldn’t come through) so took us an extra half hour to pay- therefore losing more time on the bikes. Overall £45 for one person to hire a bike and park for 3 hours seemed ridiculous and we were disappointed that we were mislead.

I love this place. Been going here on and off since I was 15....I'm now 41. Second visit for my kids camping. It's so beautiful and green. Right next to the river. Self catering kitchen is a must for campers and it has fridge and freezer in it. Lovely walks. Couldn't make it to the The Forge Hammer pub this time round but will go next time. Many bonuses with this hostel. My kids love the steep bumpy track to the hostel and the fire pit is great. I won't go into minor negatives as this place doesn't deserve it. Well done Welsh Biknor.

Perfectly placed to explore & walk the surrounding valley. The staff is friendly and helpful. We used the catering, the evening menu was limited due to issues with delivery. The breakfast was excellent. The hostel is licenced with a selection of wines and beer. The road access to the hostel is narrow with a sharp bend care is needed when negotiating to and from the hostel.

Wonderful out of the way property with reception hall where you check in, two receptions (one being a TV room), a self-catering kitchen, laid-back restaurant open for breakfasy and evening meals, laundry, and drying room. Breakfast in the morning was freshly prepared alongside a self-service continental selection and unlimited tea, coffee, and juices. The only negative is the poor condition of parts of the access, which, unless you're driving an SUV or 4x4, you'll probably end up grounding out your car even during carefully. This is a major shame as it wouldn't take much to level out the worst parts of the track.

I absolutely adore this hostel. Just coming to the end of our second stay here - last time my son and I had a private room, this time we've camped, both have been sterling experiences. We are YHA members and have stayed in upwards of a dozen of their hostels. It's important when you book here that you know what you're getting into - the location means it's always teeming with hikers, cyclists and kayakers and all of their associated gear. It's never going to match the shine of the newer city centre hostels but it's a comfortable and charming old school hostel in a stunning location, with friendly staff who go out of their way to make you feel at home. We have particularly enjoyed our days hiking around Symonds Yat and the Forest of Dean, and a half day of pony trekking in the Brecon Beacons which is just over an hour's drive away. The driveway down feels like a rite of passage but it's so worth it. This is a magical spot. Thank you Bryan and all of your team, we can't wait to come back for round three!

We enjoyed our breakfast with views across the Wye Valley. Saw deer in the grounds, spent our days walking in forests and by waterfalls, saw a wild boar mother and twelve boarlets. Bathed in the icy waters of St Anthony's well. The hostel was a warm, comfortable home to return to at the end of the day. On the evening we ordered our meal from the hostel it was prepared quickly and cheerfully. It was just what we needed.

Not the newest/smartest of hostels but we had a really good time. Friendly staff as always, friendly fellow guests, a TV room which pleased the children, good food, nice self-catering kitchen. Our bunkbed family room was small and basic as you'd expect, but quiet at night and we slept well. Location is lovely, but beware the rough, narrow, winding track down to it! Parking right by the hostel, and a beautiful church right by the river. Lovely big camping ground with bell tents. Room for kids to play on grass. Beautiful drive through a deer park to reach said winding track. Would go back.

Incredible setting, riverside with large grounds and lovely large house. Very friendly staff, only issue is if on a top bunk the emergency fire light is a green LED so worth bringing an eye mask, but extremely friendly and welcoming staff make this a great stay. Excellent self catering kitchen and decent catered breakfast options available. If driving be prepared for an extremely narrow one width car final decent. Take caution as this only really has one passing space and consider parking at top or across the valley if reversing is not your strong suit.

Roots and Seeds is directly below Wholly Gelato, the place where it is alleged that Jimi Hendrix penned Voodoo Child. It's quite amazing that Roots and Seeds also has a claim to fame. When Doctor Foster went to Gloucester his first stop was to enter this café for refreshment. The latte he drank tasted a little bitter but his pallet quickly adjusted and he thoroughly enjoyed the beverage he was given. The sort of brew that stands out in a crowd, for all the right reasons. The smiley ☺️ person behind the counter proved not only to be friendly and welcoming but also showed her prowess in the art of swirly making. Doctor Foster was a happy chappy, he didn't eat but he did notice that there were a good selection of munchables on offer. He also noted that Roots and Seeds welcomed four-legged 🐕🌭🐩 friends as well. As the Doctor left he stepped in a puddle, unfortunately all road repair units were busy building the Golden Valley bypass and the puddle proved to be a lot deeper than first thought. The water went all the way up to Doctor Foster's middle. He was embarrassed and vowed never to go there again. His loss, 'cos Roots and Seeds is definitely worth visiting more than once.

Had an amazing time at Roots + Seeds kitchen yesterday. We were a big group (12 people) but they were so accommodating and had amazing service from everyone there! The coffee and food was absolutely delicious and we’re already excited to come back! Lots of great options too.

Fabulous small plates and jolly staff . Perfect position overlooking the basin at Glos Docks . Plenty of seating outside and in . Can’t wait to return .

What a find in gloucester dock…. Great food attention to detail was outstanding, the Rose wine which was an English one was one of the best even better than whispering angel. Recommend the arachini balls, haddock and curry sauce and the beef check. Go and try and finish with the sticky toffee pudding …. Delicious 😋

Came here today with my wife and dog on our long drive back home, staff were so lovely with us and Lottie. Thanks team!! The veg is fresh and grown locally which means you can really taste the difference, and the poached eggs were the best I've ever had anywhere. Cappuccino were fab too. Nice to be by the docks on a sunny morning! Hope to see you again.

This is a great addition to this food dock. Delicious freshly cooked food. Excellent service. I ordered a fish goujon sandwich 🥪 it was huge. Nice non alcohol mixer. It was the high end of our budget, but highly recommend.

Popped in for a spot of lunch during an impromptu visit to Gloucester. The cafe location was ideal, thankfully the weather was good enough to be seated outside, allowing a lovely view of the docks while we dined. The service was friendly & welcoming and the food was fresh and tasty. What more can you ask for. Would recommend.

This is a lovely b&b close enough to the Forest of Dean and surrounding nature spots along with Bristol. The owner is a lovely host and you can see that all the work and effort he has put into renovating the building. The ladies working the tea room are also extremely lovely, would definitely recommend staying and look forward to hopefully booking another stay

Absolutely lovely afternoon tea and able to accommodate a complicated combination of vegetarians, vegans, allergies and a baby. The staff were really welcoming and even asked us what music we'd like and took a group photo for us. The scones were fantastic with incredible flavours (I think 15 to choose from!). We all had a great time and felt really relaxed and comfortable. It's also a beautiful little place and really easy to find. It's just off the A48 and has a carpark but you wouldn't notice the road from the inside. Thanks so much for making it such a special birthday!

We booked to stay here as we were attending a wedding at Naas Court Farm. The rooms had everything we needed for a short stay and were exceptionally clean on arrival. The breakfast in the morning was excellent with fresh coffee and orange juice on the table for us and the service was perfect. Our experience was so good, we are planning a second visit to try their afternoon cream tea.

We have been meaning to try for about 4 years now, so finally took my husband for a birthday afternoon tea and we both really loved it, well worth the wait. We had the mixture of sweet & savory Deluxe option with prosecco. Food was amazing, such delicious and pretty cakes. The selections of scone flavours was almost too many to choose from. We had the the rhubarb & ginger, and white chocolate ones, both were really nice. Staff were really warm and friendly too. Would fully recommend.

My partner and I stayed for 2 nights and would highly recommend! Lovely people and lovely rooms! The breakfast was fantastic and couldn’t fault the service! Great location if you are wanting to travel around but also just as nice to relax in the local area. Thank you for our amazing stay!

Catered for our baby shower, food, staff, service, and accommodating all our requests...all outstanding. Stayed overnight and the room was 💯 clean, cool and comfortable🛏. Can't thank them enough and will definitely be back! Worth going just for the scones 😋

We had a very nice one night stay. Nice clean room and comfy bed. The staff are very friendly and breakfast was great. The location is very handy for Chepstowe castle and Caldicot castle. Also very close to lots of other attractions. The afternoon tea looks great.

Driven past the place numerous times and finally got a chance to stop and cure my curiosity! Well, what a gem of a place. Everyone is super friendly, knowledgeable in all the gift shops. Cafe is great, plenty of deliciousness on the menu. We be back again for the various events throughout the year. Not that we will need an excuse to come back.. highly recommended.

Found this lovely craft centre whilst visiting lydney over the weekend in June 2025. There was a lovely tap room with a good selection of ales and ciders and spirits. There were wide and varied choices of shops selling anything from scented candles, shower steamers and bohemian clothing to a large garden centre selling plants and gardening must haves. Found some books about foraging and herbs, tarot cards and ethereal wonders, jewellery, arts and many other interesting and novel purchasing opportunities. Lovely place to visit, good prices. Would recommend

Came for a car boot sale that we saw advertised locally when visiting, only for it to not be on the day we went! Mooched around the shops but too far out of our price range. Toddler enjoyed the park. Free parking.

Our 2nd visit that did not disappoint! Had a lovely lunch - freshly made & so tasty! Loved wandering around the shops in the autumnal sunshine & feeling the values of this amazing community! A great way to to spend a Sunday afternoon! We will be back! x

A few small shops, a garden centre and a popular cafe. Definitely worth a visit although there is not as much there as you might at first think. Looks like events are hosted here sometimes. Free parking and entry.

Such a lovely little find. Lots of artisan shops - not astronomically priced. Little play area for children. Cafe area and shop selling food stuff (I've forgotten it's name).

Only 4 stars because a lot of the shops were closed as the owners were taking a well earned holiday. Shops that were open were really good and had unique goods for sale

Quirky cafe at the rear of the garden centre. Good menu options and all food seems to be made to order. Very attentive staff. Our sandwiches were very good. Much of the seating is on benches, admitted nicely cover with furry throws, in an extension tent.

Garden centre gorgeous and staff knowledgeable and helpful. Tea room equally gorgeous with polite and helpful staff, 3rd visit, always great! Shout out to Luke and Shanna who were lovely on Thursday 😊

Had the most amazing birthday afternoon tea! Beautiful hand made cakes, scones and sandwiches which were thoroughly delicious! The staff were amazing also, nothing was too much trouble and lovely guys. Would absolutely recommend and will be returning for more delicious cakes :)

Nice place and friendly staff in the garden section and in the tea shop. Prices are as expected in any tea shop these days, but I'd like to mention the excellent value of a pot of tea. And I was asked if I'd like the pot topped up. They also operate a loyalty card in tea-room.

First time visit. Went for breakfast and a walk around this quirky garden centre. Excellent food, dog friendly, and the staff were superb. Will definitely go back

An easy going cafe, that serves simple "grub" and their breakfast is a damned good buy - but if you're vegetarian/vegan, I'd give it a wide berth. A good selection of standard fayre that's "simple" - but well prepared, and tasty too. Nothing that we had was swimming in grease, and there wasn't even the sensation of fat or grease in our mouths. There is a wider selection of food, including pizzas, sandwiches, and even the grill (the mixed grill was REALLY tempting, but I stuck with the full English instead).

The pub..Angel... Released the chefs for RnR. So we called in at Kaplans. Looks like a cafe right? We got a full Turkish meal. Absolutely fantastic meal. Milkshakes were Beautiful. Yes, I had 2. Inner child demands. Wife loved her Mocha. Amazing food. Please... Go there.

Food under cooked and no seasoning. Had Cottage Pie and had to pay extra for a bit of gravy made with granules. Would not recommend this place in a million years.

Brilliant cafe. Needed a breakfast spot as the Puzzlewood cafe was a bit underwhelming. This was the perfect spot. Parked round the corner (free on Sunday) and walked over. Great selection, good prices and very homely feeling.

Lovely little ‘greasy spoon’ style cafe with a surprisingly diverse menu. The breakfasts are generous and very well priced. They are also happy for you to customise it just order what you want. Chatty and friendly staff with fast service, would visit again if in the area and try some of the lunch options.

Lovely cafe serving breakfast and lunch. I was surprised by the variety of full English breakfast options available. Staff was kind and attentive. I would say the place looked popular among the locals.

Just passing through and found this little cafe. Certainly seems to be providing a extensive selection of food for the locals. Clean and tidy - confident staff. Food was ok - would definitely pop back if passing by again.. Definitely not fine dining, but ticks the box for hungry tums..

Most expensive breakfast I’ve had at £10,50 sausages tasted awful egg I think they beat them up 1/2 tomato warm beans were piping hot toast was very lightly tanned more like bread bacon was good overall not impressed

First time here average cafe,plenty of options on the menu,no table service order at the counter. Food was pretty quick and good. Only tomato ketchup and brown sauce on table and sugar. Was given mayonnaise and salad cream when asked for it. Not very warm in here though on a very cold day so anytime anyone opened the door a massive gust of cold air. Would visit again as as a relaxed clean environment

Absolutely lovely cosy cafe, first time in and highly satisfied with service, food and drinks selection! Had a coffee milkshake which was a caffeine dream delight and a chicken and mushroom pie. Portion size was very generous and super tasty too would highly recommend!

Family of 4 popped in for a quick lunch. The menu will cater for everyone. We all had something different. Breakfast, baguettes, kids menu. Good size portions. Tasty food. Very well priced. With lovely service from Beth! Wish we had found this place earlier in our holiday.

Concept: Lydney is an ideal place for a relaxing Saturday. After visiting Lydney Harbour and walking 6 miles, my stomach started to protest. While I was walking in the town centre, the menu in the window got my attention. Timing of visit: Saturday 16/08/2025, 16:15-17:10. Order: Cottage pie and chips. Price: £17.45. Quality of food: Exceptional (7*). It should be noted that the cottage pie was served with boiled vegetables (carrots, broccoli, and cabbage). Method of payment: Debit card. Staff: Attentive (6*). Service: Fast (7*). Atmosphere: Relaxing (5*).

The food is good but the prices are a bit steep for what you get. Worth it if you're buying a breakfast, not so much if you want vegan or a salad. They make a good cuppa though and the team are usually friendly and attentive.

We needed somewhere well located and that offered a quick bite to eat for lunch. The young lady that looked after us, Beth, was delightful and engaged with my daughter who has some disabilities, brilliantly. If we needed to stop in Lydney again, we would definitely pop back in.

Visited twice while on holiday. Small but welcoming cafe and dog friendly inside and out. Excellent breakfast (including sausage for my dog). Also took home a slice of chocolate orange cake which was beautiful. Adjoining shop stocks essentials as you would expect but also some local wares such as ciders and mead and some craft items.

First visit in a long time and was very impressed. Sat in garden area with our dog and the staff were very good to him. Had a toasted tea cake and it was beautifully cooked, I have lost count of the number of times in other cafes where this was not the case. Staff were friendly and attentive and prices were very competitive. My husband's egg and bacon bap was the best he had tasted. Coffee was excellent aswell. Will visit again very soon. We are very very thankful to the kindest people in the cafe - We came to Parkend by Railway and were hoping to do hiking from there. But it was raining very badly and we decided to take a break here. We ordered tea and English breakfast and everything was absolutely reasonably priced and tasty. A simple cafe but cannot be more comfortable. We asked some questions and they gave us very helpful tips and support. Without them we would have been completely lost. I would imagine that they are amazing as a post office :) Thank you for your fullest kindness!

Visited yesterday, sat outside with my dog in the little courtyard bit. Nice lunch with an orange juice. Park end was nice with a little bit of water for my dog to cool off in 💦

Warm and welcoming cafe which offers a great selection of cakes and food. Plenty of room outside for bikes and great outdoor seating for the warmer months. We love it.

Visited the cafe twice this week with our dog, friendly welcome, lovely staff. Breakfast was made with good quality products and absolutely beautiful, worth every penny, we shall definitely be visiting again when we next in the area.

Great little café in Parkend and close by to the Dean Forest Railway. (Go out of the station and turn right and you can not miss it) Cosy and very busy café and a limited choice of food but excellently served and very reasonably priced - some seating is outside

Really lovely cafe. We just stopped for cake and tea. The cakes were delicious and moist and the teas was served in lovely vintage style cups and saucers. Very friendly staff and also dog friendly.

I had breakfast here this morning and I found it really super nice!! The service was friendly and the whole setup was overall a pleasant experience. The feel of the room was comfy as well as pretty and the food was really good! Hearty portion sizes and it was also nice and hot - would recommend if you want a quiet and relaxed meal :)

Our Sunday lunch today was fantastic. Very generous portions, beautifully cooked & presented. Service was brilliant as was the atmosphere in the tea room. Will definitely return.

I would sugest that the tablets could be clean in a way to look clean and not sticky. May be is just me. And i didnt saw the waitresses wearing mask. Even in the Kitchen.

Small eatery in the centre of the town. Fairly standard menu, fried English style breakfasts, sandwiches, baguettes, and there is a menu of the day, there are no baked potatoes on the menu. Food quality was fair, the fish cake coating was more cardboard in texture than a coating. Whilst service was polite and timeous, it lacked in being customer centric, let's say my experience was one of functionality.

We went as four adults for Sunday lunch today 23rd October. The place is very clean. Tablecloths and flowers on the table. Choice of drinks including tea and coffee. The roasts were outstanding. Vegetables plenty of them including colliflower cheese. Served piping hot. Choice of starters and sweets. Price very good. Most enjoyable lunch time. Good luck to Caroline and her happy team for the future. We will be back. Well done to everyone.

Wonderful local cafe. The team that run this place deserve high praise. I've been here many times and they look after my grandparents so respectfully/kindly. The food is amazing value, great portions and always comes out quick and hot. I can't recommend this place enough and will continue to support. Parking is opposite, just a 2 mins walk, if that.

First visit here but not the last. It's small but cosy, nice and clean and the food was lovely. Staff are really friendly...what else do you want. You have to use the car park which is a couple of mins walk. Toilet a bit tight for a wheelchair and could do with a refurb but will forgive this as it's nice and clean. The takeaway cake is nice as well. Overall it is the best cafe we have been to so far in lydney

What a great find in the centre of Lydney. Lovely little café. Made to feel really welcome by the friendly staff. Six of us had a mixture off the varied menu catering for everyone. Breakfast baps, bacon sandwiches and toasted tea cakes, all very reasonably priced, excellent value and good quality. Tea and coffee were very hot. 10/10 from us all.

I love this little shop! I’m staying in the village for 2 weeks and it’s such a perfect community store. The staff (volunteers!) are friendly and helpful, I bought a great selection of food for the week including locally made and farmed. They even have a little counter for sitting with coffee and cake where people were chatting while I shopped.

I'm not privy to the mega pork snail mystery pork WhistleSnails (primed and ready meal) but you should hone your bone for the curdled doctor, he's taking your soil shelter in the morning. All the while the pork megasnail is getting his torque up to maximum goblin wheel trouble rhythm.

I was camping in the area and was hunting for a coffee shop. Didn’t find one open but then decided to try my luck here. I’m glad I did! Lovely service, and nice to see a junior member of staff being treated with patience by the supervising staff. The scone looked good and tasted even better. Highly recommended.

I ordered 3 sandwiches to take away. Cheese, tomato and ham. Phoned up at 9.30 and said I would collect at 11.00 am. They were ready and were delicious. Excellent value for money with generous fillings and really fresh bread. A new service and would definitely recommend.

By far the best find ever! What an amazing place, food is out of this world and I can honestly say that the quality of cheese and produce has blown me away. The 'Pantry Picnic' is something really special and I wish I had insisted on paying MORE as I feel it was worth 10x what I actually paid. I had the pleasure of meeting Martin and I have never felt so looked after and welcome, what a nice gentleman. Highly recommend a visit, even if it is out of your way you will not regret it. I will definitely visit again.

We were out walking with our dog and needed somewhere to stop for lunch. They don’t allow dogs inside (not a problem) so we took panini’s and coffees to go. Coffees were fab and the panini’s delicious. I also picked us up some olives, biscuits and chocolate for later. All were delicious. A bit on the pricey side but I expected that for the sort of place it was and in a small village. I plan to go back tomorrow to get us some more bits and bobs.

PLEASE BE CAREFUL ORDERING WITH INTOLERANCES. Very unfortunate experience- location is lovely and staff were nice enough, however asked for a hot chocolate with oat milk which the lady both confirmed and notably charged me for. However, the young lad who made it seemed incredibly unsure when I asked "is this oat?" But decided to confirm it was instead. Drank not even half of it and have spent my evening very ill. I'm very upset that the boy definitely knew it wasn't oat milk and yet decided to say it was for his own convenience of not having to remake the drink which was at my expense.

Seriously the best coffee I've ever had! And the best hot chocolate daughter has ever had! Not found anything better since our visit in February half way through our family trail bike ride ❤️ Great sausage rolls too 😀

I am utterly disgusted. Went in and saw a guy washing a mop in the kitchen sink. In the meantime my friend bought the coffee. I made picture and the guy saw and went somewhere else with the mop. I asked the young blonde girl from the till if she thinks is ok and she said she doesn’t know. I challenged them and said at least they could acknowledge the mistake and apologise . The brown hair girl that’s suppose to make the coffee left. The blonde hair makes the coffee takes one of the cups goes inside left corner and comes out smiling . Of course my brain went places and told her to do another coffee as I don’t trust them . Then an older lady came and started to tell me to wait side . I ask her if is ok that are washing the mop in the sink next to coffee that’s in tupper open and the milk frothed cups . She was rude so I took the phone to ask her on video if she thinks is ok to wash the mop there. She started to shout to put my phone away and get out . This time of course she decided to give a refund. Firstly he was washing the mop in the sink not filling a bucket there is the picture proof . My phone recorded all our conversations even with the “costumer” that got involved which I know was related to someone in the shop . The blonde hair took the coffee in that corner room why? The manager has no costumer skills anyway. Definitely I won’t put feet in there and everyone that I know wont too . There was no verbal aggression I called them rude exactly like you just did so you are verbally aggressive to me in this response. Anyway all other honest reviews are saying exactly how your staff are .

Do not drink the coffee. I don't know if the milk was off or the machine had been cleaned recently. But without a shadow of a doubt, it was the worst cup of coffee my wife and I have ever had. We had to throw it away. Thank you to the owner for the response to my review. To answer their question. We did not report it as we got our coffee's just as the shop closed, so we did not have the opportunity to speak to anyone. Thank you for the offer of a free coffee - if we remember the next time we are at Mallards Coffee we will take you up on the offer.

We had a minor car accident just outside the cafe. The owner and staff were incredibly kind and supportive. They brought us water and made sure we were all OK. The food tastes great. Serving sizes are big and prices are very reasonable. 10/10 would recommend and will be returning.

Stopped here after a long morning on the motorbike for a second breakfast. A latte and small breakfast (it was my second of the day!) was ordered and relatively quickly delivered to my table, where it was dispatched almost as quickly. Great food and service at a reasonable price.

Great cafe, love the decor and style. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and they were even able to offer a dairy alternative as my partner has a lactose intolerance.

Ordered the beef madras half and half. Few bits of beef were hard, chips were lovely, rice good poppadom microwaved and the mini naan bread was rock hard, that was left. Service was very pleasant with good prices, unfortunately the food took ages to get to the table. Apparently a bit of a row in the kitchen......

Stopped for coffee whilst out for a bike ride, really nice place, outside seating, plenty of parking and the most delicious selection of cakes, the cheesecake was gorgeous! After reading some other reviews I think a trip for Sunday lunch is on the cards!

Saturday morning, I needed a good breakfast! And this place did not fail me ! Just the way a fry up is supposed to taste, this was bang on, bang on the money too! I will be back !

We came as a family and was turned away quite abruptly wasn't made welcome at all. There was time for us to sit down and order food before the reservations but they declined us. Be cautious before coming to this cafe in a group.

Great friendly staff and great good value food

Visited Tasty Bites this morning and have absolutely no complaints. Ordered the Big Brunch and made some changes which the manager was more than happy to accommodate. The food was fantastic, hot, tasty and excellently cooked. The Big Brunch is £8 which is fantastic value considering a regular breakfast elsewhere in town can range from £9.50 to £11 and most do not include a hot drink which Tasty Bites does. I added extra Mushrooms, Extra Hash Brown and changed 2 Fried Eggs for Scrambled Eggs as well as ordering a fresh filter Coffee. The bill was £8.75 and I was absolutely stuffed. I really liked that they took off the beans and tomatoes as I requested and substituted the extras. I cannot rate the quality of the food any higher than 5 star. The food came out really quickly and was cooked perfectly and there were plenty of sauce choices offered. If you are looking for good food at a great price and excellent service I totally recommend Tasty Bites. As an added bonus they have free parking just around the corner, no more than 50 feet away.

Tasty bites is a great little place to eat. The food is nicely presented and cooked just right. The staff are always cheery, providing a fast service. Food is always hot when it's served. You'll be hard pressed to find this level of quality at the prices they are. I always eat here if I have breakfast out. 👌

Tried for the first time a few weeks ago. Lovely lil cafe, very friendly owner and staff. Menu restricted but the variety in what you order is good and a decent quantity on the plate. Also tried black pudding for the first time, only found out what was in it after eating to.

Lovely, friendly place with good basic food and great cakes. The tea cake and tea bundle is great value. The Sunday lunches looked excellent, but remember to book. Only cafe in Newent open every Sunday!

We came for the cafe and soft play. Our 3 year old had great fun in both sections. There’s a small but fun packed two storey frame and a separate small toddler area. The jacket potatoes we add were delicious, well cooked and they didn’t scrimp on the fillings. Bought two things that had nothing to do with gardening, as you do.

Don’t bother! Arrived on a Sunday at 11.10. Breakfast finished at 11.00, Sunday dinner starts at 12.00. Tried to order a couple of sandwiches but was told it was too busy and no food orders were being taken (sandwiches were served from 11). Only three tables were occupied? Lost both food sales and garden centre sales, as I refuse to give money to a garden centre with such stupid food service times/lazy staff. Stupid policy and therefore not worth visiting. Went 30 seconds up the road to Blue Diamond, a bigger and better garden centre with more sensible food service times.

A nice garden center that is generally good value with some thoughtful product choices. We had a very poor experience at the cafe. The staff gave us the wrong order and insisted it was our mistake in a very rude way, we are 100% sure it was not. Wouldn't return! Also has a soft play area that didn't appear to have anyone checking admissions but was clean.

This place is a little gem! We were passing through on a very long drive with my toddler and stopped here for a break. To our surprise they had a brilliant soft play area! Had tea and cake and let my toddler run around for a bit. Very impressed with how clean the soft play area was! A lovely garden center bit too with lots of opportunities to buy presents 🎁 if we are passing again will definitely pop in 🙂

A nice place for a picnic with a bit of history thrown in . A small coffee bar and ice cream van there when I visited . Interesting to look through peep holes in large rocks that point out things in the distance

The pictures below show that there are plenty of benches for punters to sit and "enjoy" their snackages and beverii so I think the proprietors should ask if customers would prefer their food on a plate, with a proper fork, and not the polystyrene monstrosity the carrot cake was served in. Similarly, my latte was served in a paper cup. The coffee had a bitter taste which stayed throughout its consumption. Nice swirly, but a paper cup? The carrot cake was a generous portion. It soon became apparent why this was. If it was 0.01% drier it would've crumbled to dust in its 'tray'. Don't think I've been served a drier cake in recent memory. It wasn't as if it was old, I was given the first slice from a new cake. If you ever go to Lydney harbour do yourself a favour. Take a packed lunch and a flask of coffee with you.

Really great tasting coffee in a lovely environment! However, I have to say that although many of the cakes are excellent, they have not changed in a really long time so they have become a bit boring- would really love a bit more variation.

Great halfway meeting place between Hereford and Bristol for family. Always have our Hips favourites. Excellent coffee - bacon butty with chilli jam - farmhouse ice cream for the little lads..... and more. Interesting water and boat landscapes and good, varied walks.

Small but perfectly formed …. Immaculately clean. Great for breakfast after a walk along the Severn estuary. The soups…. Simply outstanding! A Michelin starred restaurant would be proud to serve that homemade tomato and red pepper soup! And we love the hot cheese toasties as a treat. Cakes - we will be back to try them out as they looked great. This is a business that deserves to do well, set in an area that is not at fist sight as beautiful as it grows to be with familiarity. Their array of cakes look amazing. The service is always wonderful & the staff are super friendly. It's a little bit tucked away but I recommend you find it. 😃

As strangers in town just looking for a coffee we came across the cafe and struck gold, wasn’t expecting the classy atmosphere nor the friendly welcome. Great coffee and toasties, sorry we don’t live nearby. From what we saw later a cut above the norm in this town, sorry Lydney.

Coffee Local is an excellent place to meet friends. Nothing is too much trouble. The food is delicious, very tasty and beautifully presented. Not only are the cakes fantastic so also are the savoury dishes and sandwiches. Afternoon tea is also a must......

Judging by the amount of telephone orders this cafe has it must be great. Popped in the Friday before Christmas which was possibly an error. The cafe was pretty empty and we easily found a table. Didn't even have a chance to look at the menu before a lady informed us that there would be a hours wait for hot food due to the number of phone orders. We left the table of workmen to it - they may have had an hour or 2 to spare but sadly we didn't.

The best cafe in Mitcheldean :-) Great selection of food, from fry-up to Christmas dinner and salads. Take away cheese and ham baguettes are excellent. The staff are very friendly.

Popped in for a coffee and a bacon sandwich with a couple of work colleagues mid week. Easy to park, friendly smiling staff, great coffee, bacon sandwich cooked as ordered and ready in minutes and some happy customers tucking into all sorts of lunches. Has all you can ask for in a budge cafe.

Great range of vegan options! Friendly staff & the cafe is decorated with lots of lovely furniture, very nature-y and cozy. There’s a courtyard great for the sun & a second room with more seating that is usually a little quieter than the “main” space (where the coffee bar is) if you need a place to work on a laptop or read a book, but also the whole cafe is great for a catch up with friends or a nice breakfast/lunch out in Coleford

What. A. Gem. This is a wonderful little cafe with great food and exceptional staff. We both had a veggie breakfast (a lot on the plate- there's 3 sausages hiding under that toast!) and a chai latte - for those who don't like coffee or want something different to tea. We got some cake to take away too and they were super tasty. Highly recommended.

Impressed.... on the search for decent quality vegan / dairy free cakes and found this cafe on the happy cow app. All the cakes were vegan, loads of great choice.... the quality was brilliant and the care and friendly reception from behind the counter was a credit to the cafe.... Came to Forest of Dean for a visit and stopped by here for brunch. The staff were lovely and friendly. The food took a while to arrive but it was great nonethless. I had the mexican eggs benedict and it was lovely. The prices are great too! I reccommende if you are ever passing through.

My partner and I came for a bit of lunch just before we left the Wye Valley and we couldn't have asked for better! The food was so flavourful and well presented. My partner highly recommends the paninis, especially the honey roasted ham! Thank you for a good send off :))

Excellent place for lunch. We have the ciabatta panini home cooked ham with chutney and cheese, and another with Italian sausage and mozzarella. Very clear the chef has thought about the flavour profile of their paninis. The bread was also fresh, crusty on the outside and soft inside. Coffee was excellent. Just what we needed after a long walk. Enjoy with art work on the walls, or just sit and enjoy the calm space.

Absolutely lush coffee house with friendly, welcoming and all around lovely staff! Lots of vegan, veggie and gluten free options available on the menu and to top it off, they serve delicious, locally sourced and fair trade coffee! My favourite usual is a coconut milk latte with a cake or muffin, most of which are vegan ✨

Bicky did the food for my mothers 80th party. The food was spot on for our requirements. Plenty for the guest. Staff were friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. They even went out to get more for one guest who would only eat one type of vegetable. The standards were high. Care was taken to ensure the food stayed fresh on a very warm day. I would highly recommend them for any event.

Catered superbly for 7 cyclists turning up at 11am on Saturday, unanounced. Excellent selection of breakfast foods and some delicious cakes to boot. Great coffee too. The lady in charge was brilliant and very engaging. No problem leaving our bikes where clearly visible the other side of the glass window right next to where we were seated which was reassuring. Will definitely plan further cycling routes from Portishead around a cafe stop at Bicky's.

Love it here, children can play and you can enjoy a lovely hot chocoLate (they do dairy free which is amazing) you can sit and relax and watch them without having to follow them around like other role play centres. It is small but has everything you need. Staff are lovely and so helpful. Reasonable price and something needed in the forest!

This play cafe is fab. We just took our 4 year old daughter and 11 month old son and both were happy. We got to eat lunch and drink hot coffee and the kids loved playing. Think how your kids love going to their friends houses and playing with their toys; it's like that for all the kids. I think there needs to be a baby gate put up in the corridor between the play area and the main part of the cafe though, to stop crawling babies sneaking through and getting under the feet of people carrying hot drinks. We loved it and will be back again soon.

My family and I visit the play café regularly and love it. Plenty to do for a range of ages, communal seating for parents makes it really easy to chat and make new friends, and the food is amazing! We also had a private party there for my son's 4th birthday, and it was so much nicer and more personal feeling than booking a soulless softplay at an equivalent price. 4 stars not 5 because the wifi doesn't reach to the play area, only the cafe, making it difficult to do life admin while kids play, but I gather this is being worked on.

We come regularly whether just me and my toddler or with friends. Nothing is too much trouble for Hayley. Also hosted a joint 2 year old birthday party and a fabulous baby shower here as well as coming to some evening events. Whilst the play areas are excellent (cant wait for summer to play outside) you can just go for a coffee or lunch without the kids as there is a large separate cafe area.

We visited this morning (our first time) for breakfast with Santa. The staff were so welcoming and friendly and the breakfast and coffee were lovely. The big F.C was amazing-he took his time chatting to the children and was very patient with my 2year old who was a bit scared. The cafe was full of interesting items and had a fab play area where the children played very happily. We will definately return and recommend to friends.

My daughter in law organised afternoon tea from here for my son's birthday. It was delivered to the house and all food was boxed for each person..The food was lovely and what you'd expect for afternoon tea. The children had their own build a bear and individual boxes with their own picnic food inside. I had fresh strawberries, sandwiches, cakes and salad all boxed and ribbon tied. We were very impressed. Great alternative when you can't go out, but can enjoy a distance birthday treat.

What a lovely little cafe with imaginative role play toys. My girls love it, and the parents get a chance to have a little chat while keeping an eye on them playing. Great selection of cakes and food definitely worth a visit. We will be back soon.

Amazing cafe deep in the forest and right next to a accessible view point with sweeping views of the area. Such a good find. The food all looks amazing with a good breakfast and lunch selection. Very good vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options too. Can't wait to visit again

Has been completely ruined by new owners all premade food unlike before when you could have a made to order breakfast roll. Higher prices for premade rubbish totally unacceptable this used to be our go to spot but not anymore.

I spent a whole £6.90 on a ham and cheese panini which should have been called “a ham and no cheese panini.” Although the view was nice, the view of a panini full of cheese would have been more satisfactory. It was also so dry that I needed to buy a Diet Coke to quench my thirst from the dry dry dry bread and this cost me almost £3. Not on. My flat white was also disgusting. I know it’s common sense but psa, bring a packed lunch unless you want to pay a lot for very little.

Love the new look - fantastic !!! Smashing for kids with the sand pit etc and that view is amazing Not so keen on the prices £18.00 for x2 coffees and cake Ok it’s cashing in on the tourists but why no discount for us locals ( the Forestry Commission get it !!). I wish you well on your new venture but will not be stopping by again at those prices

This has always been a fantastic breakfast stop in the past. I'm local and up here fairly often. The new owners have a good selection of food but sadly there is very little breakfast choice compared to previous owners. No gluten free breakfast rolls, no veggie breakfast rolls, not great if you are gluten free as there is hardly anything on the menu you can eat. It was always lovely to be able to get a freshly made bacon/sausage/egg roll before going for a walk. The move to premade food should make it easier to offer more choice but this is not the case. Also, I'm not sure what they did to the almond croissant but it was like nothing I've ever eaten before, and not in a good way! Lots of chatting staff not paying attention to waiting customers. Very disappointing.

For a little coffee shop in a national park this place is awesome. Drinks and Food is a step above coffee shop food, location is stunning. It's not cheap, but you get what you pay for.

Absolutely lovely cafe. Small but lovely atmosphere with brilliant food, lovely service and one of the best gingerbread lattes I’ve ever had. Would happily come here again when I’m back in the area!!

Lovely tea room, delicious food and drinks, great value, and a warm welcome. Very clean and well distanced tables too. Highly recommend.

Clearly can't be bothered with their listing as they don't update their hours (I just checked). That doesnt echo what they say about great customer service.

Had fish and chips on Friday. Fantastic belly buster and the girls handed out bread and butter also which I wasn't expecting well worth it reasonably priced drinks. Also, dog friendly which is always a bonus .

Amazing friendly staff. All volunteers. Good range of bottled alcohol and non alcoholic drinks. Food is great and all freshly prepared. The garden is fab.

Having been twice I had the same menu choice on both occasions. As the menu is very limited on choice. It will not deter me from visiting again as the atmosphere and service were great.
