Everyday Noodles is a unique Chinese eatery in Squirrel Hill that offers a captivating dining experience. The restaurant specializes in hand-pulled noodles, which are crafted behind a kitchen-viewing window, allowing diners to witness the fascinating process. The menu features a variety of Chinese and Asian cuisines, including soups, vegetarian and vegan dishes, as well as an array of delectable options such as pork soup dumplings and Dan Dan noodles.
5 Stars - An Exceptional Culinary Gem, Worth the Parking Hassle! My first visit to Every Day Noodles was wonderful. From the moment I stepped in, the atmosphere set the perfect tone, a little upscale from your typical Asian restaurant without being stuffy. The food is the star: expertly prepared, fresh, and absolutely delicious. The expansive menu offers an impressive array of options, including many enticing soups, hearty entrées, delightful appetizers, and a large, creative variety of vegetarian dishes. Considering the generous portion sizes, the prices are remarkably reasonable. Service was impeccable. Our waitress was attentive, highly informative, and patiently answered our many questions about the various dishes, which was enhanced the experience. The restaurant itself is clean. The only caveat is parking; located in a bustling, busy part of town, securing a spot can be a chore. However, I wholeheartedly highly recommend Every Day Noodles, it is absolutely worth the walk!

For hand pulled noodles, head to Everyday Noodles. My family of three walked in around 1pm on a May Sunday and got a table right away in front of the staff making the noodles. Our server even brought out dough for our eight-year-old daughter to play with, which she loved. To eat, we ordered the bok chuy, dan dan noodles, pork soup dumplings, cucumbers, and hot and spicy noodles. Our daughter loved her soup dumplings. Everything else tasted good, but not as amazing as we expected. The flavors were muted in each dish. Despite that, it was still a fun lunch!
Austin G — Google review
Everyday noodles is a cool experience! They make the dumplings fresh all day, and you can watch them make everything through a glass window. The staff is incredibly friendly and the service is quick. I think this should be called "Everyday DUMPLINGS", as the dumplings are the star of this restaurant, not the noodles. Mind you, I think the noodles are very authentic, but myself and my wife's noodles were muted in flavor and texture. The noodle dishes left some to be desired. Will definitely come back to try the dumplings, but with so many noodle options in Squirrel Hill, I will likely not come back for the noodles.
Tim A — Google review
A bit disappointed trying it after seeing all the reviews. The oxtail noodle soup was a bit bland, I had clear soup noodles in Asia often so I'm not having mismatched expectation. I know it will be milder than most noodle soup, but when served with noodles the soup gotta have flavor to compliment the noodles you know. Noodles were ok, not the best hand pulled I've had, not that bouncy and slightly on soggy side. The pork and crab dumplings were better than noodles in comparison. But still, it's quite average for siu long bao. I would say you get what you pay for.
Vicki — Google review
Another Asian restaurant makes tips mandatory. We ordered 3 dishes, soup dumplings, scallion noddle and wonton noodle. The soup dumplings and scallion noodle are fine, wonton noodle is tasteless, they didn’t use correct type of noodle for this dish. The waiter is friendly, helpful. The service is overall pretty fast. We paid the bill by cash, we planned to leave a tip but we forgot. However, the owner chased us to the entrance, dragged us back to our table requiring tips. This move is rude and inappropriate. If the guest didn’t leave a tip, you should think there is no tip because your service is not good enough. Also, why we should tip an owner anyways? The whole thing is ridiculous. We finally went back leaving a 20% tip because the server lady is really good and friendly, but I truly hope our tip went into her pocket, not the owner. Will not come back, food is mid, the owner is very rude, not sure why paying cash give us 10% off, or 20% off, seems way to much for credit card fee.
Mingzhen C — Google review
The soup pork dumpling (xiaolongbao) is great, it’s a pity that it did not come with ginger pickles but fresh ginger with water taste. Noodles are good but the turnip is not well cooked but tastes like salad raw. The dry noodle with bean curd (zajiangmian) is too dry not able to mix the source with noodles we used soup from soup noodle to add into it to make it mixed properly. Staff are nice and responded quickly
Rong Z — Google review
So yummy! I got the braised beef noodle soup with wide noodles and it was delicious. Fresh noodles and tender beef. The staff was also very friendly and accommodating and we were served very quickly. Definitely recommend!

Chinatown Inn is a vibrant gem nestled in the heart of Pittsburgh, known for its upscale yet casual dining experience. With a strikingly colorful exterior that invites you in, this beloved eatery serves up traditional Chinese cuisine with remarkable speed during dinner hours. Diners can indulge in favorites like wonton soup, homemade plum sauce egg rolls, pork fried rice, and spicy Szechuan chicken without long waits.
Highly recommended! I was looking for a sit down Chinese restaurant similar to ones I had been to growing up, and tried Chinatown Inn for the first time. Atmosphere is comfortable and nicely decorated. We were sat quickly and greeted with waters and hot tea shortly after. Service was friendly, fast, and attentive. Even with the dining room filling up- the service was great. Food arrived at a nice pace allowing time between appetizers, entrees etc, waters were frequently refilled, old plates cleared promptly. I saw other reviews about the egg-rolls and decided to try them- very good and a must have, larger size and much fresher than what you’ve probably had at any other restaurant- available in various styles - including vegetarian. I would also recommend the pork fried rice / pork and mushrooms. Nice amount of great quality roast pork in both dishes. Our server helped us pack out leftovers and cashed out our payments promptly. I’d highly recommend giving this location a try!

Not busy on a Saturday afternoon. Good service. Ambience ok. Worst General Tso's Chicken that I've ever had. Not spicy at all. Large portion but pay double what you would pay elsewhere. Hard to find paid parking or street parking. I wouldn't return. Bill for three $80.

So it's American Chinese takeout style food. But it's quite good for what it is. Food is fresh with big portions and low prices, especially for downtown. Spring rolls are awesome obviously. Horseradish sauce is great too. Lastly this is a freaking piece of history, it's like stepping into a 50s time capsule in a good way. Highly recommend eating in.

Is the best Chinese food that I’ve ever had in the US😍 the food the service their prices everything goes accordingly within each other❤️ I’ve ordered the Beef Broccoli that comes with white rice and brown sauce, it was so juicy and delicious and also I got the checking fried rice which was sooo good! Definitely my #1🤤

A real cool place, so glad we decided to try. This place was awesome from the onset and the food was wonderful. Probably the best egg drop soup I’ve ever had, everything was on point and a great place to eat lunch or dinner. Lots of vegetarian options as well.

Been going here for years! They have the house crispy chicken which is pictured! They are friendly and food is always fresh. I come here too much they know exactly what I want as soon as they see me!

Rather quiet on a Monday night, but the service was prompt and the restaurant clean and comfortable. They immediately brought us a pot of tea and waters the moment we sat down, without our even asking for these. Nice! The food was delicious! Best if the three entrees was the beef hot pot. My pork mushy was also hearty and tasty. The "spicy" dish my companion ordered was not spicy at all. We asked for a dish of hit pepper oil on the side, and even this was just mildly spicy.
Patricia B — Google review
Beautiful restaurant with incredibly friendly staff. Service was very quick, and the food was sooo good. We got the crab rangoons, BBQ pork appetizer, War Shew Chicken, and the Shrimp with Lobster sauce. Everything was so delicious, and the portions were huge. We took home plenty of leftovers for lunch tomorrow. Highly recommend, soooo good!

Chengdu Gourmet in Squirrel Hill is a popular Sichuan restaurant offering a mix of traditional and American-style Chinese cuisine. The dining experience is highlighted by feasting around a large table, making it perfect for sharing with friends or family. The menu features classic dishes like cumin lamb, Chongqing beef hot pot, and pickled vegetables.
Delicious Chinese Sichuan food! I love this place, it feels like I’m having meals at a family’s home. Ingredients are quality and their spices kick azz. Food can be hot 🥵 in a delightful way. Service and ambient are chill and friendly. Some of my faves are cumin lamb, mapo tofu, sichuan pepper prawn, cold jelly & cukes w green sauce.
Mahdiyati S — Google review
This place was unfortunately quite disappointing to me. It’s possible that I just don’t really have the palate for authentic Chinese food, but something about this spot just didn’t click with me. I got to try out their steamed dumplings, pumpkin pancakes, chicken egg roll, and mango milk tea. The steamed dumplings were decent. Not great, not bad. Okay portion for price. The dough was pretty thin, meat was fine, but the sauce was more acidic than I’d usually like. The egg roll was a bit strange. It had a pretty strong peanut butter-like taste to it. Seemed decently fresh and they did provide some sauces on the side for it. They had mustard and duck sauce, but strangely, no soy sauce for some reason. The pumpkin pancakes came in a pretty small portion (3 little ones). They were pretty solid but not the most flavorful. A little crispy on the outside and a nice chewiness to them. I liked them but didn’t love them. Finally, the milk tea was decent. The tea itself was quite tasty, milky, well made. But the boba they included on the bottom was definitely some of the worst pearls I’ve encountered in Pittsburgh. No chewiness left, just slimy and hard. All in all, I probably won’t come back. I tried both this location and the one in the North Hills, and neither really hit the spot for me. Small portions and higher than average prices, but they do serve some unique dishes.
Ulyana K — Google review
We gave the place a try despite having heard mix review about this place. Unfortunately the visit is underwhelming to say the least. The portion were way too small and the price doesn't justify the portion. If the food is good then this isn't an issue. However the food doesn't taste good at all. Beef taste chewy and the vegetables were way over cooked. If you are hungry for some Chengdu cuisine I would not recommend this place.
Xing — Google review
Supposedly a Squirrel Hill institution. Egg rolls were still cold in the center. The General Tso's chicken did NOT hit the spot. Way too saucy. Eggplant dish was decent. The scallop and beef dish was ok.
Atman D — Google review
Spicy, Savory, and So Worth It! Chengdu Gourmet delivers! The dumplings were perfection, but the spicy beef noodle soup? Pure fire—literally! My taste buds are still recovering, and I’d do it all over again.
Bill D — Google review
I had a fantastic time at Chengdu Gourmet about a year prior to this review and made it a goal to go back on my recent trip to Pittsburgh. Once again, I had an incredible experience from the fantastic and speedy service to the wonderful meal. The atmosphere of the restaurant is great too, and it is spaced in a way that when it is busy, it feels close enough to be cozy but not too close to feel crowded. In this most recent trip, I had the Double Cooked Pork Belly, and my girlfriend had the Mapo Tofu. Double cooked pork is my favorite Sichuanese dish, and Chengdu Gourmet cooks it to perfection where to pork, peppers, and leaks melt in your mouth like butter. The Mapo Tofu was also very tasty and had a great texture, but next time, we would ask for a bit more spice. To reiterate, I had a fantastic time at Chengdu Gourmet and hope to make it again the next time I happen to be in Pittsburgh.
Manuel N — Google review
This restaurant is extremely unethical. Yesterday I went there and ordered two dishes. After paying, I carelessly forgot to ask for a receipt. When I brought the packed food home, it felt very heavy. When I got home, I discovered there were actually three dishes. I checked my mobile banking and found that over 70 dollars had been deducted from my account. When I ordered, they said my balance was 41 dollars .This forced consumption is extremely unethical. I hope all customers will carefully check their bills before paying.
Lucky W — Google review
I’ve been wanting to try this restaurant since I’ve moved to this side of town. I went with my sister, brother in law and nephew. We all shared the peeking duck. It was good, a little on the dry side but it comes with a sauce which definitely helps. I ordered coconut boba milk tea, I was not a fan of the tapioca pearls. They tasted sour which is odd. The drink itself was good, I appreciated the fact that I can actually taste the coconut. My sister got the lemon grass tea, it wasn’t sweet at all but still was very good. We got scallion pancakes and cheese wontons as appetizers, they were good. I wasn’t a fan of the sauce that came with the pancakes. The decor is nice and simple. The staff is nice. There were two other tables filled whenever we arrived. The wait time wasn’t long at all. This was the test run now I know to come back and order plenty more.

Sichuan Gourmet is a casual Chinese restaurant that offers a variety of Sichuan dishes in a bright and inviting space. With locations in Squirrel Hill and Oakland, the eatery provides student lunch campus delivery on weekdays, featuring lunch boxes with meat or fish dishes, veggie options, and soda. While some customers have praised the food quality, others have expressed concerns about long wait times and inconsistent service. Additionally, there have been mixed reviews regarding accommodating dietary restrictions such as nut allergies.
My husband and I came here and enjoyed quite a variety! We had cheese Rangoon and spicy cold noodles for an appetizer. Both were excellent. For dinner we order four different dishes the pork spare rib hot pot, spicy chicken flaming pan, chicken and broccoli from the Pittsburgh favorite menu, and braised beef brisket with bamboo clay pot (forgot to get a picture). My favorite was the chicken and broccoli. It was the best I’ve had around Pittsburgh. My husband loved the pork spare ribs. They were so crispy and flavorful. We had sooo many delicious leftovers to take home. The best part was the prices were very affordable. We spent under $75 for everything.

Very good restaurant with some nice spicy options. I got the spicy fish filet soup, which I've had in other restaurants before. Delicious and spicy. Our waitress was great and friendly. Everything was ready quickly and looked great upon arrival. I would definitely go back again.
Marc C — Google review
The food was so delicious and came out piping hot. I recommend the eggplant, cucumbers, and any of the noodles. The atmosphere was super welcoming with karaoke and kind service. Super welcoming with very fair prices. If you’re in Pittsburgh or Squirrel Hill, I highly recommend!!!!
Elena X — Google review
Stop scrolling through the reviews and just try the restaurant. The food is absolutely amazing! The meat is well cooked and well seasoned, they don’t play around with the spices. The service can be slow understandably because the restaurant is always packed. If you’re gonna be super hungry, I would recommend heading to the restaurant 30-40 mins earlier given the wait time. The food is reasonably priced and worth every dime.
RJ — Google review
Review is primarily for service and food for anyone who isn't me. We ordered a pretty large to-go order for Lunar New Year and I was surprised to see it waiting among boxes of other to-go orders at the appointed time. There were a ton of people inside. Food was packaged decently. However, as noted on my warning for dietary restrictions, they simply did not care about our request for my nut allergy. Two dishes contained peanuts or walnuts. I sampled the pork rib just to try something "safe" and immediately triggered a light allergic reaction, likely due to cross contamination. I was not able to sample much else, but my friends noted that it was authentic Chinese cuisine and was pretty good. Food: 4/5 Service: 3/5 Overall: 3.5/5

We came from New Mexico to see the Pittsburgh Pirates and wanted some cashew chicken. Turned out to be one of the best places we've been. Great people who work there. Amazing food and service.

The intestines are incredibly delicious 😋, and the service is also great. However, the floor is quite slippery, so elderly individuals need to be extra cautious while walking.
Sophie X — Google review
Ordered mapo tofu and Sichuan chicken. Both dishes were mostly just salty. The Sichuan chicken was sub-takeout quality of meat and breading. The tofu and the sauce was brownish as though it has been doused with soy sauce. On the bright side, the service and the ambience was pleasant.

BAO (CMU) is a Taiwanese-influenced restaurant located near Carnegie Museums in Pittsburgh. The menu has been around since 1994 and offers a variety of delicious dishes and unique beverages. Customers have praised the radish cake, pork soup dumplings, and water celery with tofu. However, some recommend avoiding the basil chicken due to its excessive bones and lack of meat.
Smile Generating Meals that will leave you full and completely satisfied. From presentation to taste, this is one of the Most enjoyable meals I’ve had in a long time. The pancake appetizer is a meal in itself and tastes phenomenal. Everything is fresh and very high quality. Kind staff and fast service.

This has nice modern Asian cuisine. The atmosphere is modern, clean and delightful. The service is great and so is the food. I had the crab and tofu soup. I really found this to be a great dish and everybody in our party was happy. I would go there again anytime and it's located on a strip in Oakland where there are lots of choices for food.
James R — Google review
I ordered BAO for takeout recently (so this review might not be applicable to the dine-in experience). - Pork buns: just pretty dry and bland throughout (both bun and filling). Price point of $14 for just 5 buns felt rather high. - Stir fried udon (I got pork): overall just really oily. The noodles had a decent texture and the pork was fine, but the overall greasiness made the flavour of everything (noodles, pork, veggies) all kind of taste the same. - Taiwan sausage fried rice: at least there was one good thing that we ordered haha. Pretty average fried rice; a little oily, but nothing like the udon. I'd be OK with ordering this again if I came back. Overall, not a stellar experience, and I don't think it's just my own high standards for Taiwanese food here. Maybe we just didn't order the best dishes here...
Matthew H — Google review
A classic in Pittsburgh, food is great but it falls short of amazing. I felt uncomfortable by the end of it, but it was just bad luck for the day because I've been here before and it didn't happen. The service was questionable, there was barely anyone in the restaurant and yet it took around 10 min after calling the server to come to our table. Food showed up either extremely early or extremely late, I finished my food before the next person got theirs. The matcha barley even tasted like matcha. I believe it was just a bad day, but consistency is what matters.
Naram Z — Google review
Delicious food? Check, Wonderful atmosphere? Check, Clean restaurant? Check, Amazing Staff? Check. You order and pay for your meal through your phone, but you can ask for a physical menu and to pay with cash if needed. The staff are wonderful, always smiling and are quite quick. Water pitcher is provided for the whole table instead of one single cup per person, and the boba tea is even better. Came here with a friend on a Sunday, so free parking on the sidewalks. Easy to find and easy to get seating too. Definitely plan on coming back next time we are in town!
Amber M — Google review
Wow. The reviews are great because the food, service, and entire experience and GREAT! Just left and let me tell you, never in my life have I had food come to the table and look EXACTLY like the picture. Everything was gorgeous and tasted even better. You will want to eat literally everything and more. I’m not even joking with you, this is the best restaurant I’ve been to in years. Thank you so so much. My Korean pork belly over rice was magnificent, the braised pork buns were HEAVENLY, and then I got the custard buns?!? They were SO CUTE! And then you eat them and it’s heaven. Oh! And my taro smoothie! YUM. Best birthday dinner I could’ve asked for. I can’t wait to visit again!

Silk Road Gourmet Chinese offers familiar noodle and rice dishes as well as sushi in a modern space. The food was fantastic, with friendly service. The restaurant had clean and tastefully decorated interiors.
Wow, how this place doesn't have a 5 star rating is beyond me. Got the Stir combo and it was absolutely delicious! Tender beef and chicken with sweet fresh shrimp then mix in a colorful assortment of veggies over a delectable mildly spicy brown sauce doesn't disappoint. Great egg rolls too! They got a decent bar as well. Not a grab and go place, stop in for a nice night out, Friendly staff and the cooks take pride in their presentation. Just a great place for Chinese food!

Heard great things about this place. Went to try it, but wasn’t really impressed. I got the Mystical Vegetarian, which had a lacking description: “[the dish] defies explanation.” I’m not kidding, it said that in the menu. Curiosity got the best of me, I ordered it. It was just something meaty (unknown vegetarian substance) with cut up vegetables in sauce. It was mediocre, I would not order it again. The boyfriend got some kind of noodle and chicken situation, and he also said it was just okay. Maybe we just need to try different dishes? But neither of us were incredibly pleased with our meal. One redeeming quality though was the full page of vegetarian options! I don’t think I’ve ever had so many choices at a Chinese restaurant! Bonus points for that alone. I do hope to come back and try something different though, because I’ve heard a lot of positive things.

I absolutely love this place. The people working there make it the best. They are so friendly and kind and nice to talk to. The food is phenomenal. Always served hot and fresh. The environment is nice, too. On one side, there are more intimate booths with ambient lighting, up front there's the bar area, on the other side, it's more open and well lit with bigger tables and various size seating areas, there is also a hibachi area!! The sushi was so good. The cocktails are also delicious! The cool itch is refreshing.

Really tasty food! Went there for lunch and decided to get the walnut chicken (it was not on the lunch menu). It was really tasty, and the walnuts were great. Everyone in my group was happy with their meals. The crab rangoons are a bit small for the price (4 for $8). Overall, it was a great meal

I took my son for the Hibachi style meal, the service was amazing. The chef put on an amazing show, he caught and kept both of our attention. I had the shrimp, steak and chicken, my son had the chicken and steak. The food was fresh and the atmosphere was perfect.
Joy D — Google review
My experience was fine up until I received the entree. I was served bad scallops which had a skunky amonia taste. We asked our server if he could try one and see what he thought, he refused to try them himself but brought them back to the chef who also did not taste them and said he didn't think they smelled rotten. Every other part of the dish was fine, but it's very concerning that nobody who prepared the food was willing to taste it when sent back, especially since I was concerned that they might make me sick. The entree itself was also a bit overpriced for what it was, but I would have rated four stars if it weren't for the bad seafood.
Kristieanna C — Google review
The inside of the restaurant was very nice, very clean, and very tastefully decorated. Food and service were fantastic! My wife had the Chicken and Vegetables and a Chicken Egg Roll. I had the Saté Combo, Shrimp Egg Roll, and Spinach Wonton Soup. All delicious! Sang, the waiter was very friendly and accommodating. He added water chestnuts to my wife's chicken and vegetables since they were not there automatically. Also at the end he took our leftovers and boxed everything for us. We had plenty of food, we were both full, and we still have enough at home for two more servings each. Lots of food for the price! We will return and try other items on the menu!

How Lee Chinese Restaurant, located on Forbes Ave in Pittsburgh, is a popular spot known for its extensive menu featuring a wide range of Sichuan-style dishes. The restaurant offers familiar Chinese fare as well as specialty Sichuan entrees such as Chongqing spicy squid, dan dan noodles, shredded pork, tofu with chopped peppers, Chengdu fried dry hot chicken, and glazed duck.
A Long-Awaited Reunion Worth Every Bite. It had been years since my last visit to How Lee, and I’m glad I finally made it back. I ordered the vegetable hor fun, a comforting plate of wide rice noodles tossed with crisp vegetables. The flavors were light and balanced, with a gentle umami depth that kept each bite satisfying without feeling heavy. It’s the kind of dish that sneaks up on you—the more you eat, the more you appreciate its quiet brilliance. My partner went bold with the Hunan chicken, and it did not disappoint. Tender pieces of chicken were coated in a rich, savory sauce with just enough spice to tingle without overwhelming. The veggies in the dish still had their bite, which made the whole plate feel fresh and lively. The service was quick, the vibe relaxed, and the food reminded me why How Lee has been a staple in Squirrel Hill for so long. Final Thought: Some restaurants fade from memory over time—How Lee makes sure it’s always worth remembering.

I had high hopes for this place, but it just didn’t compare to my usual choices for Asian food in Squirrel Hill. We were steamed quickly and the service was prompt. We ordered a scallion pancake to start, which was inarguably the best part of the meal. Following our entrees came out almost too quick. I ordered chicken and broccoli which was just okay and lacked flavor in the sauce. My friend had the General Tso’s combo meal. The chicken was decent but the fried rice was mediocre at best. Wouldn’t be my first, second, or third choice in the area.

Ordered take out . Food came nice and hot and accurate. Egg rolls were good . The wontons in the soup 🍲 were kinda a weird texture to me. General tso chicken wasn't bad. Ordered the pepper 🫑 steak 🥩 and got more peppers then anything so that's a lil disappointing. Steak was a little hard to chew. The fried rice was flavorless. I think it might be the worse rice I have had in terms of flavor. It didn't taste like anything when you ate it.

Total Score: 7.89 Bathroom: N/A Didn’t use the bathroom Customer Service: 3.5/5. The waitresses were pretty nice but they didn’t frequently refill my water and at one point they were just standing there confused staring at us. Ambiance: 3.5/5 It was okay! Not many decorations but the lighting was nice and it wasn’t cramped. Food: 4.5/5 Actually very authentic Chinese food. Rarely do you see it in Pittsburgh but it was really delicious. Sesame chicken was yum and so was all the other food. Something very filling for a change and delicious for a change. Wow: 0.5/1. Wowed by the authenticity of the food! Maybe I’ve been going to orient express too much that this is so much better. Total Score = (CS + 2*AM + 5*FOOD + WOW)/9

as a Carnegie Mellon alumni, this was my go to spot with my friends. I’ve probably been to this restaurant more than 30 times… The owners are extremely nice, the service is great, and most importantly, the food tastes great. I always order the 水煮牛 and the 紅燒豆腐 🙏 strongly recommend this restaurant over cafe33 or sichuan gourmet

I visited based on the Yelp reviews. I was not very impressed. Parking is a feat especially around the 6:00 hour. I parked a few streets down in a residential area which was a short walk and not too bad. How Lee is small and located in a downtown “main” street area. The place has a few tables and some booths. My waitress was attentive and she promptly waited on me which was very nice. The food was plated beautifully but lacking in taste and seasoning. The portion was indeed generous and the dishes are family style. Overall not very impressed with the taste of the food despite the fact that it looked delicious. I ordered the braised tofu and the beef large noodle.

My nephew attended CMU and we would come to this restaurant whenever I visited Pittsburgh. In the last four years I visited this restaurant six times and enjoyed the meals here every time. We would ordered five dishes between the two of us not because of the portion size was small but because they have so many dishes we want to try. Now my nephew has graduated I am ready to let this secret out. This is the best Chinese restaurant in Pittsburgh!

Absolutely some of the best Chinese food I've ever had. Everything was soooo flavourful and wasn't too small portioned. I highly recommend the Chongqing dry hot chicken its one of my new favorite dishes ever. The staff are super friendly and helpful as well and made it a great experience. This is my go-to for Asian food in the burgh. Highly recommend to anyone!

Nestled in Pittsburgh, Sesame Garden is a charming casual eatery that beautifully blends traditional decor with a menu featuring beloved Chinese classics and some delightful Thai options. This hidden gem offers an array of dishes made from scratch, ensuring freshness in every bite. Diners rave about the chicken egg rolls, which are often hailed as the best around, alongside perfectly textured dumplings and flavorful fried rice that comes in generous portions. The Mongolian beef and seaweed salad also receive high praise for their vibrant flavors.
Do not let the 4.2 star rating fool you. Sesame Garden is fantastic yet affordable and deserves at least a 4.7. The chicken egg roll - fantastic. Probably the best egg roll I’ve ever had. And trust me… I’ve had Plenty The dumplings - surprisingly good. Dense, yet the perfect texture for a dumpling The fried rice - great smoky taste and huge portion for the price. Only $1 to add chicken. Utter bargain The amazing chicken - better than general tso’s. Truly lived up to its name (haha)

This place is a 5-star in my book! The chicken egg roll was delicious—one of the best I’ve had—and a great size, too. I also enjoyed the orange chicken dinner with fried rice, which was amazing. The portion was generous, with just the right amount of spice. I only ate half and saved the rest for lunch the next day. Highly recommend and will definitely be back!

My family took me out to dinner for my birthday. We decided to try this place. We have a 2 year old toddler, 1 year old baby, and teenager. They were VERY accommodating. Things can be a little hectic with the little ones. Our waiter was very nice and tentative. The food was very fresh, and very large portions. We definitely will be back again!

I'm treated well every time I go to Sesame Garden. Nice servers, great food (the general tso's is really crispy - love it!), calm vibes in Mount Washington, you can't beat it! I will say that the pad thai is kind of "mid" - just go to Thai Gourmet in Bloomfield if you want that kind of food.

Came in over the weekend for dinner, and we were happy to have walked by this place! A lot of their dishes/sauces are made from scratch in house. Order the seaweed salad pork dumplings and the Mongolian beef. My husband loved the seaweed salad and said it had a ton of flavor. We shared the pork dumplings and they were great, we usually get our dumplings steamed but with their house-made dumpling dough I would probably suggest getting them fried which we will try next time. Also shared the Mongolian beef and it was massive we ended up taking quite a bit home and eating it later. Would highly recommend, really nice staff and very fresh food!

Wow!! Really good! I haven't been here for awhile but it appears they stepped it up quite a bit. I got the lemon chicken lunch special, delicious. Chicken was cooked perfectly and it was a good balance of quality to quantity. Wonton soup actually had flavor and wasn't an afterthought. The also have a selection of healthy options, some without MSG seasoning if you are sensitive to it. The inside of the restaurant was REALLY clean too. It's a nice relaxing atmosphere, great if you want something quieter than most of the Shiloh St bar restaurants. Owner is very hospitable.

This restaurant is great for Hunan, Sichuan and American-style Chinese dishes. The atmosphere is authentic and the food was very tasty. There was a small language barrier but the simple point at the menu worked well enough. The prices are good, and you can reorder if you're hungry again. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who's looking for authentic Chinese cuisine.
An absolute gem for authentic Chinese cuisine lovers! 😍 Don't let the modest decor or occasional language barriers deter you - this place serves THE most phenomenal dishes that keep me coming back daily. The chefs masterfully blend fiery Hunan flavors, numbing Sichuan spices, and hearty Northeastern comfort food in ways that teleport me straight to China's culinary capitals. Must-tries: No 116 Steamed Fish Filet with Chopped Chilies ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Huge fish - takes two people to finish! No 130 Braised Pork with Preserved Vegetables ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Trust me, it has a beautiful name in Chinese. No 168 Sichuan Mapo Fish ⭐⭐⭐⭐ If you are hungry and don't know what to order, go for this. No 177 Double Cooked Pork Slices ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ One of the most classic Chinese dishes. No 215 Double Cooked Pork Slices(Crispy Sweet and Sour Pork Slices ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Same name but totally different tastes. My favorite. No 232 So Say We All Cabbage ⭐⭐⭐ Vegetable dishes are a must too. No 244 Fish Flavor Shredded Pork ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect with rice. No 254 Kung Pao Chicken ⭐⭐⭐⭐ This tastes best with extra spice! While service might require some patience (and Google Translate), every mouthwatering bite justifies the adventure. Pro tip: Come hungry and ask for the authentic Chinese food recommendation - it's where the real magic happens! 🤩

About $40/person for hotpot buffet all you can eat. The portion and taste are pretty good. Food came out quick as well. I would recommend the deep fried pork with honey glazed (guo buo ro). The table was slightly dirty with grease stain that got on my sleeves when I sat down. Fyi, dress causally and avoid wearing clothes you dont want stained.

First time to Pittsburgh and found this gem of a restuarant. We got the egg drop soup and homemade dumplings to start. Super delicious and large portions. For our main course we got the sesame chicken and beef stew fun. Large portions and also delightful. We will definitely be going back. I highly recommend 👌

The food is gorgeous. Authentic Chinese Szechuan/Hunan style. Come here if you want authentic spicy Chinese food. However, the dining environment needs improvement. There is gnats flying around the restaurant, which is very annoying and disgusting. The restroom is also dirty and disgusting. I know I came here for the food not for the 5-star hotel kind of environment. But it’s the details makes the perfect!

Disappointed ☹️ I would not recommend this place. The staff is kind and accommodating but the food itself is below average. I would give this restaurant another chance if they improve on their service and especially cleanliness. Hot Pot- The spicy soup base was delicious but the white soup base was not good at all. The vegetables were fresh and the meat was good too. The stove on the table was dirty and smelled bad, probably from previous food spills. Brown Sugar Milk Boba Tea- The tea was good, a little on the sweet side but the tapioca itself tasted rubbery so it was probably old. The service was poor and the restaurant is not clean. Don’t expect a good ambiance here. I would at least expect the utensils on the table to be clean. We had to ask for the tongs and plates to he replaced because there was dried up food bits on it. The receipt included gratuity up front. Not sure why that would be the case since we were just two people.

This place has very authentic food, comparable in taste to some of the places I ate at in mainland China. Service was very good and portions were very good. Would definitely come back again to try their many items offered on the menu.

EXCELLENT AUTHENTIC HUNAN CUISINE & Pittsburgh’s TOP CHINESE HOT POT. It’s true gustatory dining, 🙃🙃🙃 very popular to the local ethnic Chinese, Japanese and Korean emigres especially among students of the local universities. It’s very busy during the weekends. The 9-page booklet menu with large scripts is very navigable 👍, a contrast to the dizzying lists so common among the uniformly dismal Chinese-style eateries of America. It’s a home for the Traditional Chinese HotPot👏👏👏, from single (large 50-oz) bowl for the single dinner to the buffet style souping dinner for a group. The classic bone broth (Mala Tang) is a rich, yet light soup is absolutely delightful 🤩🤩🤩 Any of the single bowls are outstanding!!! Then there’s the Hunan entrees, distinguished by their thick yet silken sauces. Pairing a meat entree with a Hunan vegetable is truly extraordinary😎😎😎 Service is very good, the staff are helpful in deciding which ones to try. This is a restaurant worth several visits. Prices are very reasonable.

China Wok is a great restaurant with friendly and polite staff. The food here is of high quality, and especially the sesame chicken/fried pork lunch special is fantastic. The Milk Tea here is also very good.
I can't say enough good things about this location, the food is always hot, fresh and delicious. The atmosphere is welcoming, the women taking the orders and answering the phone are always nice and courteous. I've been ordering their food for 6 years now and I have never had 1 issue. I weekly get the general sto's and never get tired of it. Prices are very reasonable to. All in all this is hands down the best chinese in the pittsburgh area.

Just near Cambria hotel and closest Chinese restaurant. Restaurant doesn’t have delivery except through outsourcing. So I gave it a shot, ordered online with Uber eats and it was quick and good service. The item I ordered was combo of BBQ ribs w pork fried rice and egg roll . I ordered extra soy sauce and hot mustard. I got everything I ordered and presentation was great. Food taste was really good and I was happy with the Uber guy who delivered. Not all Uber drivers are good but this one was fast on point. Was happy with from start to finish. My total was 10.25 but w priority and tip practically double the cost but it was very convenient so I’m okay with that. I haven’t try the other food items that’s why I gave a 4 star, but with my first order is 1st impression counts. My next review/ slash order can change that. I would definitely order again and would recommend the restaurant.

I have been dining here since at least about 2013 and I honestly enjoy my experience each and every time. Ten years later, and now a vegan, I order the “hot pepper tofu”, a variation of a go-to chicken dish that reminds why I continue to make the trek or pilgrimage to this day. Savory onions, heat from jalapeños, and sweet while comfortably searing chili sauce all come together for what I would probably have down for breakfast through dinner. Perfecting this at home might be okay for my wallet but I would still be searching for their friendly faces and comfortable, laidback atmosphere. Well done China Wok ✌️

We ordered delivery from Ubereats. The food was hot and delicious. We ordered the beef and broccoli and it was all tender and well seasoned. The fried dumplings were still crispy and the dipping sauce was tasty. The wonton soup was amazing. The lo mein noodles were springy and not overcooked. They were perfect. We will be ordering from here again.

Hot sour soup was way too salty. Cabbage in the shrimp egg roll had a weird flavor. Some of my vegetables tasted sour. My boyfriend got a stomachache after eating it. Not good quality.

I dont love the place but it does help my chinese craves satisfied. I had the family for 2. I should take the egg rolls instead of the cheese wonton (as the young lady recommend). The chicken has too much batter covered and rarely real chicken. Broccoli and beef was ok seasoning but the beef taste like soft rubber (dont know if the beef ingredient they have is fake or not 🥲). In overall, it was an ok place if you crave for some chinese.

Nan Xiang Soup Dumplings in Pittsburgh is a delightful culinary destination that promises an enjoyable dining experience. Upon entering, guests are greeted with warm smiles and attentive service, setting the tone for a memorable meal. The menu features an array of dim sum options, with standout dishes like the crispy turnip and ham puffs that have garnered rave reviews.
I've visited here a few times now. I remember the first time we had to wait about 20 minutes to be seated, but lately—even on weekends—there’s no wait. The space is clean and roomy. My go-to dish is always the Crispy Shredded Turnip and Ham Puffs—they're my No. 1 favorite. The Steamed Vegetable Dumplings are great too, packed with veggies and wrapped in a thin skin. If you're coming for brunch, don’t miss the soybean milk with crispy dough—a classic combo. I've tried all the soup dumpling flavors, but honestly, I found them a bit plain. It’s hard to taste the individual fillings, so I’d recommend sticking with the Nan Xiang Soup Dumplings. We usually come on Sundays. It’s easier, but not always easy to find free street parking. Definitely worth a visit! You could totally come here every week. Good prices, chill vibe, and solid food.

Wow this place is awesome. Serves up freshly made dumplings. We tried many plates and all of them were so good. For being a Michelin place, I expected to be expensive, however this place is very reasonable priced. We went in without reservations and got seated right away. After ordering, food came out so fast. And the tea was really good too. Highly recommended this place.

Really cool and best Dim Sum place in Pittsburgh. Food and service were excellent. My kid loved the pan fried pork bun. All the dumplings were pretty tasty. This is one of those places where more is merrier so you can order more things family style and have a little bit of everything. It’s also inexpensive so if you over order a bit you can enjoy the leftovers later.

My mom and I enjoyed our meal! The service was very attentive and the cocktails were delicious. We tried a variety of dim sum and really enjoyed the turnip ham puffs. The pork soup dumplings we tried were good, but tasted like they had chicken broth in them instead of pork. The pork bun we had was also good. We got the Shanghai stir fry udon noodles to go and they had a good flavor but the texture was odd. They’d definitely be better fresh than packed to go. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and loved the look of the restaurant. Looking forward to returning and trying new things on the huge menu!

I came here for the soup dumplings (of course), but was blown away. To begin we were greeted at the door promptly with a bright smile and positive attitude. We started with a scallion pancake—and I’m glad I did. The beef scallion pancake was golden and crisp on the outside, with just the right amount beef of chewiness inside. It had a great balance of flavor and not too oily. Service was quick and the space was clean, if a bit no-frills. The soup dumplings themselves were delicious and juicy. Perfect for a comfort food craving. I’d absolutely come back!

I was surprised at how quickly it came out. Service was awesome and friendly! All in all, really delicious!

If you're on the hunt for a dining experience that will leave your social media followers in awe, look no further than Amazing Dumplings in Squirrel Hill. This charming eatery is known for its stunningly presented dumplings that change with the seasons—think heart-shaped delights for Valentine's Day and whimsical bunny shapes during Chinese New Year.
Wow! I can’t put into words what I just experienced food wise, service wise, & atmosphere wise. By FAR the BEST dumplings I’ve ever had!!!!!!! All the food.. from egg rolls… to 2 different style dumplings… to General Tso’s Chicken… to Wide Spicy Beef Hot Oil Noodles…. Everything tasted FANTASTIC. My 1st time to Pittsburgh… I’ll definitely be back just to eat here.

Amazing Dumplings lives up to its name in every way. From the moment you step inside, you're welcomed by an incredibly friendly and inviting atmosphere, matched by a staff that truly enhances the experience. Their dumplings are nothing short of works of art—beautifully crafted, vibrantly colored, and thoughtfully presented. Every bite reflects the care and skill that goes into making them, with handmade dough and hand-stuffed fillings that set them apart. To start, we had the vegetable eggroll and fried scallion pancake, both crisp and flavorful. For the main event, we sampled a variety of dumplings, each with its own unique flavor profile: Pork Pickled Cabbage Dumplings – A tangy twist from the pickled cabbage, adding a delightful sourness. Van Gogh Starry Map Dumplings – A stunning tofu-based, meatless option, as artistic as it is delicious. Sunrise Rainbow Chicken Dumplings – Almost too pretty to eat, these rainbow dumplings were as flavorful as they were colorful. Secret Mala Pork Dumplings – Served untossed, allowing you to mix in the spices for an extra kick of heat. General Tso’s Chicken Dumplings – A sweeter, comforting take on a classic flavor. Beyond dumplings, we also tried the Hot Oil Beef Wide Noodles, another standout dish. The long, handmade noodles arrive untossed, requiring a mix to fully incorporate the rich, spicy flavors. The texture and taste were absolutely incredible. Overall, Amazing Dumplings delivers both visually and flavor-wise, making it a must-visit spot for dumpling lovers and anyone looking to experience North China home-style cuisine at its finest. Highly recommended!

I'm visiting family and we decided to check this place out. We all loved it! I tried to remember to take a photo before we ate but opps. We ordered Beef and Onion Dumplings, Pork and Leek Dumplings and Smoked Pork Pancakes and Biangbiang which was this flat noodle with ground beef and veggies. The beef dumplings was a personal favorite and were so good with the dipping sauce. They even make the dumplings different colors so you can easily tell them apart. A warning for those who don't like spicy! Very few things on the menu was not spicy. My whole table agreed it was a pleasant spice that was a good balance between the spiciness and the flavors of the food. Also check them out on Instagram they have tons of photos and pictures of their dumplings!

If you're on the hunt for an unforgettable Sichuan dining experience, look no further than Yue Bai Wei 悅百味. From their standout rabbit dish, which boasts a rich flavor profile enhanced by ginger and spicy peppers, to the delightful tofu seafood bao, every bite is a revelation.

Lata M — Google review
Yue Bai Wei serves up some of the best Chinese food around, and it’s absolutely worth the trip. The cumin beef is the standout — salty, spicy, garlicky, and bursting with flavor. Every bite packs a punch, and it’s the dish I’d recommend most. Service was fast and genuinely hospitable, which made the experience even better. The only downside was parking — a little tough to find a spot. But honestly, once you’re inside and the food hits the table, you’ll agree it’s more than worth the hassle. Highly recommend for anyone craving authentic, flavorful Chinese food.

Toufu is good, but not $28 good. Tea smoked duck is $28 very little meat, mostly bone and skin, sea food duo (shrimp and octopus) $38 not worth it, not very fresh, octopus is tough, they refried it, it’s not fresh made. Cumin lamb is good. Overall overpriced for what it is

The tastiest, most authentic Chinese restaurant I’ve been to and surprisingly no wait! I’m happy to say this restaurant has gained a very satisfied regular. Also, shoutout to the server dude - he’s super chill! I will be recommending this restaurant to all my Chinese friends from now on.
Salina M — Google review
If you're craving Sichuan-style cuisine, packed with chili peppers and bold spices, this spot is a must-visit. Top of my list is the fish with pepper—it's a tad salty, but it's perfect for pairing with heaps of rice. The peppers are pickled, offering a mild spice level (2.5 out of 5) but with a delightful aroma. Don't miss out on the tofu either; show them a picture and they'll identify it for you. It features a slightly crispy exterior with a soft inside, and a hint of cumin that will appeal to fans of the flavor. Be prepared for a lively atmosphere. It's not the place for a quiet dinner, but it's ideal for a lively party. Their large round tables can comfortably accommodate groups of 8 to 10 people. So, gather your friends for a flavorful feast!

A Chinese friend of ours took us here and ordered for us. I don’t speak Mandarin so I don’t know all of what he ordered but it was delicious. We had a chicken dish and the sliced pork belly. We had dumplings, sautéed cabbage, vinegar flavored shredded potatoes, a noodle dish, and a dish of fried fish skewers, which was our favorite! They gave us an order of complimentary fried custard balls. The service was great. Only negative is that the rest room is marked on the door as having a changing station, but there wasn’t one.

Popped into Yue Bai Wei Sichuan Restaurant in Squirrel Hill on Forbes Ave for lunch and went with the braised beef soup. The broth was rich, flavorful, and packing just the right Sichuan spice kick (runny nose quality). The only downside? The beef leaned a bit gristly. Still, the menu’s got too many intriguing dishes to ignore, so I’ll definitely be back for another round.

Went here with my daughter to get dumplings and ended up getting frozen bagged pot stickers. They were disgusting and pathetic compared to the other Chinese dumplings I’ve had. They boiled them and some were watered down waste of 16+ dollars(2 orders 8 per order) it’s like they put in no effort if I wanted pot stickers I would have went to Walmart and bought a bag like they did I know one of my orders paid for that whole bag of cheap pot stickers and the sauce was bland watered down and disgusting also I will never go back here

I ordered kung pao shrimp with steamed white rice. The white rice that they gave was mushy, slimy and smelly. There's no way they didn't know it was bad. Unfortunately I didn't check my food until I got to work. I wasn't able to come back the same day because I was working. I called and their customer service is horrible. When I told her about the rice, the first words out of her mouth were no one else complained 🙄. I wasn't able to come back because I don't live or work in the area. I had to dispute the charge with my credit card company.

Decent food at cheap prices. Grabbed a small veggie chow mein to go, which was done quickly and very hot and fresh. The atmosphere inside was nice and clean, and the cashier was very polite and professional, even ensuring I was aware I was buying a meal without noodles. I'll definitely come back.

They are hit and miss. Some of their food is great and some very bland. I love their bourbon chicken it has great flavor but was disappointed in their general tso. They have very poor phone manners. I needed an extra pack of duck sauce for my egg rolls and had to pay for it. I have never had to pay for duck sauce anywhere else.
Vicki G — Google review
Never again. I had Lomeinnand fry rice from this place I’ve been having diarrhea ever since for 2 days. I don’t know want to blame them but I didn’t had anything besides their food that day.

Didn't my egg roll, the broccoli chicken tasted old , charged 1 dollar for sweet and sour sauce lady has no pleasent personality,
Michael R — Google review
This is by far the best Chinese place I have been to in Pittsburgh. Lots of options and the food is made fresh in front of you. I have some food sensitivities and usually get very bloated and sick feeling after eating most Chinese food, but I do not get sick from here. This is also a very convienent location with ample free parking. During normal times, you can eat inside or order to go. They have some decent lunch and dinner deals. I was particularly impressed with their current COVID19 precautions as they have the entire order area plexi-glassed off and even made a contraption with a plexi-glass doggy door type thing to give the food to people while keeping both sides protected. Also, all employees were wearing masks and customers are required to wear masks. The one downside here is that most of the employees don't have the best English skills which has led to some difficulty ordering or minor mix-ups, but they have good customer service and will correct anything mixed up. Overall, I highly recommend this resaurant!

Wang's Kitchen is a hidden gem for Chinese cuisine enthusiasts, located in Pittsburgh. Diners rave about the delicious offerings, including favorites like orange chicken and crab Rangoon, which are served piping hot and in generous portions—perfect for sharing or enjoying leftovers. The general tso's chicken strikes an ideal balance of sweet and spicy, while the lo mein is a hit among regulars. Customers appreciate the friendly service and consistent quality that keeps them coming back at least once a month.
This restaurant d efinitely puts time and effort into making their delicious meals! Gotta try their veggies and shrimp dish, sooo good.
Danielle D — Google review
THE BEST CHINESE FOOD EVER! My food came super hot, was very delicious. They give you so much.. I ordered the orange chicken, Crab Rangoon's, veggie fried rice and a shrimp egg roll. It was definitely enough for 2 people with leftovers for the next day. The delivery came early and the food came piping hot and SO delicious. It also didn't hurt my tummy after, like some Chinese places do. I felt amazing after I ate here and also heard from an inside source that they have one of the cleanest well - kept kitchens in town! Which is also a plus to know... keep up the great work, great food and great service!! We will be back!
Bryana A — Google review
The fried rice was just white rice in dish water. No sear on the meat. Everything had the consistency of being boiled and mushy. Gross. Dont waste your money like I did

Always delicious authentic cuisine. The top Chinese food in Brentwood, Carrick, Baldwin, and Whitehall. Mainly take-out/delivery.
Domenique T — Google review
Best small Chinese joint in the area! Surprised me, but the quality has been consistent and has been just as good every time I order. Favorite place around next to Sesame Inn..
Daniel D — Google review
Great food! Probably the best spot around. My only complaints: 1. their website is DEFINITELY NOT UPDATED with prices so I was stunned when my total was almost double from what the website menu said. Also, they only take certain types of credit cards (no discover) and they don't tell you this, prior. THANKFULLY, I happened to have an extra card on me that they would accept (visa) because I usually don't carry both.
A P — Google review
When me and my mother order from here, I love the food and I love the that lo pork mein they make. I also like how the delivery is it’s fast and it’s easy.
Ivarlee B — Google review
Their general tso with rice combo is awesome balance of sweet and spicy. My wife loves their chicken lo mein. It's always hot and fresh. The workers are always friendly. They always get our order correct and we order there atleast once a month. Thank you to everyone that works there and makes this our regular Chinese food spot!

If you're on the hunt for a satisfying all-you-can-eat experience, look no further than Golden Palace Buffet. This cozy, family-run establishment serves up a delightful array of traditional Chinese dishes that are sure to please any palate. With an impressive selection of pan-fried noodles and other favorites, you can indulge in generous portions without breaking the bank—especially with prices around $8! The service is notably quick, allowing you to enjoy your meal without long waits.
Food is great the buffet is closes at 2:30 can't beat the price either 7.48. 8 dollars plus tax.

We came a hour before close to the buffet. The food was only mostly edible, price was more than we were told. No ice for the drinks, soda was warm, didn't feel clean (I avoided the restrooms) but service was friendly at least. They stopped refilling anything at 820, and continued to take money from groups that walked in after that. You paid before you ate and now I know why. Downstairs to order might be better, or not so close to closing, but I won't be going back.
Matt R — Google review
This is a good downtown lunch option. It's not my favorite Chinese spot but it is good. I don't go here too often because I tend to overeat...it's a buffet. I like that a fountain drink is included in the buffet price. They also have a standard menu to order from as well.
Carlo L — Google review
I felt that the food and the atmosphere were not all that great. The staff that I met didn't really seem that friendly to the customers while I was there. The food in my opinion was rather expensive. For only a few dollars more I could have gotten gourmet cuisine. The portion was a good size but a combination with soup or an egg roll would not have hurt the menu.
Ron B — Google review
This restaurant appears to be a comfortable, family-run place, but they sure don't skimp on food and service. The food was great. I had their pan fried noodles several times. Service was fast too. I barely had time to check email on my phone before the food was ready! The restaurant is also at a central location, not far from the convention center.
Morton F — Google review
A bit of a strange atmosphere, but that's really the only thing bad about it. The staff are nice, and the food is pretty good. You don't wait long to get your order, and the portions are rather generous. I've been going here since 2006. :)
Justin R — Google review
Tasty food that met standard cheap Chinese food expectations. Everything was good and well cooked, nothing weird going on at all. Service was fast and they made absolutely sure everything was correct.
Cliff C — Google review
Horrible and disgusting place! They wouldn't reimburse my money (I paid before I got the food) and called police on me when I asked for a refund. They are the criminals because food was stale and old. The lady at the front is the worst to deal with, she barely speaks English and when I couldn't understand what she was talking about she asked me if I speak English. Waste of money and time.

Seafood restaurant
China Buffet King is an informal eatery that offers a wide range of traditional dishes in an all-you-can-eat format. The variety of food available is quite impressive, surpassing expectations considering the subpar quality typically found in Pittsburgh buffets. Surprisingly, very few items were cold or dry, and the fried foods were perfectly crisp. Additionally, the staff members were extremely friendly.
I give the food 5☆ bc if you come at the right time of the day (4-4:30pm) the buffet will have a wide variety of food. Some of the food is bland, but I don't like food with a lot of salt, pepper or spices on it. The service was excellent, therefore 5 ☆! I was dining alone and the owner very politely came up to me several times asking if I needed anything else. The atmosphere I gave 3 stars at no fault of the owners. A family of 7 was seated next to me and they were very load, the kids were running around like it was a playground. Parents need to controll they're children more when out dining. Otherwise, I really like this place! Foods awesome for the price. Don't let the negative reviews keep you from coming here.
Karla S — Google review
Was greeted by a waitress and told her my party size, proceeded to be seated and individually got asked for our drinks which we were then free to dine at the food that is good looking but not always tasting great because it felt like it had been sitting there for a while. Vibe was very quiet and didn't feel buffet like.
成果ですLove — Google review
We have gone here for many years. Menu and staff have changed but it is always a pleasant and filling experience. Servers are attentive and friendly. Food is done well and plentiful.
Charles K — Google review
Took more than 15 minutes to get our drinks after coming back to the table from the buffet. There are only 3 or 4 other tables with customers, this should have been a clue. It is dinner time and most of the choices are visibly old. No white rice or lo mein except what is stuck to the bottom of pan. With very few appetizing dishes I should have left but I chose a couple things that looked fresh only to realize it was old food covered in extra sauce, too hard to chew. I waited and waited for something new to come out. Nothing did. Nearly $40 for 2 people. Last time for me.
Andrea P — Google review
This buffet isn’t run by Chinese owners, and while it offers a different take on the experience, the food didn’t seem very fresh during my visit. The restaurant could use a bit more attention to cleanliness, as some areas felt overlooked. The tables are covered with contact paper, which gives a temporary feel, and the food selection was more limited compared to other buffets.
Michael W — Google review
Second time here. The first time was okay, the second time was worse. They seem to just put heavy amounts of Chinese five spice in everything. There were gnats on the deserts. There's one type of sushi and it's just a California roll. The peanut butter chicken was good. There's not much of a selection and most of the food wasn't changed out and cold. Everything was labeled well. The tables are tore up and so are the seats. The soup dishes are like a handful of different bowls with different sizes. The lady who sat us was nice. It was $15pp and I felt like I got nothing. Better off taking a trip to Fortune Star Buffet!
Jared M — Google review
Everytime I go there it's a nice and lovely environment, the food itself pushes the barrier everything is fully cooked and tastes amazing 😍, this is definitely a place I will always love to come back to.
Teisted G — Google review
Service was very friendly, staff was actively refilling, stirring, and cleaning the buffet. The food was okay, minor gripe being the texture of some of the chicken offerings with sauce. The hot & sour soup was great, but the fried noodles were unfortunately stale. There was a sign that they needed staff, and perhaps more staff would resolve these issues. It was extremely hot today, and it was cool & dry inside the restaurant, which was great. Drinks were ice cold and refills were offered often. The price was $36 for two people and drinks, which is a tad high given the quality of the restaurant. Overall - not bad, but not the best, and I hope they can resolve these complaints.

Panda Express is a popular fast-food chain that brings the flavors of Chinese cuisine to your fingertips, offering a variety of delicious options, including health-conscious choices. Many patrons rave about their signature orange chicken paired with fried rice, often enhanced with teriyaki sauce for an extra kick. The chicken egg rolls are another favorite, featuring a delightful mix of cabbage, carrots, green onions, and marinated chicken wrapped in crispy wonton wrappers.
I got here late about 9pm. They didn't have the meat i wanted but were willing to make it. The staff were all courteous. While I waited, I got to see this great crew at this location doing some of their cleaning. They did by far the best, most thorough job cleaning of everything. I was totally impressed with how clean this location was and how great this crew and manager did tonight!

Delicious food. I always ask for teriyaki sauce to add on top of my chow mein-to keep the noodles from being so dry. The sauce is also good on the meats. Beijing beef is a little spicy 🌶 but tastes well. Sometimes the grilled chicken isn’t well done :( or cooked to my satisfaction… ✅ Fast service ✅ Order accuracy ✅ friendly staff

I liked the pepper sirloin steak and teriyaki chicken and the pom pineapple lemonade

Might be one of the worst establishments in all of Allegheny county. The staff is very rude the rice is never ever cooked. The chicken always has some raw meat. You'll be lucky to be waited on if you try to eat inside. Good luck

I haven't even recieved my food yet and I love this place. The people here were really nice, they gave us free vegetable fried rice and candy. They even thanked us so much for our business. Although cosmetically the place is lacking, the atmosphere is awesome. I will come here again if I am in the area. They only accept cash though, so be prepared to run to an ATM. Truly an awesome hole in the wall! I may update after I get my food. They brought the food to our table and laid everything out for us, it was great. Never been to a restaurant like this. Anyways the food was good. The rice had a lot of sprouts in it, although I don't like them it was no big deal to pick them out. As we ate a kid brought us a bag so that we could carry out the food we couldn't eat. Overall this has been a great experience, I highly recommend this restaurant!

We have been getting food from here for a couple yrs since my grandparents moved down the road. The shopping center itself is scary, the store seems dark& a bit colder since covid but the couple running the joint serve nothing but love. It’s usually really fresh and get free spring rolls or rice depending on how much you spend. We love them. Don’t judge a book by their cover. I’m so happy we gave them a chance.
