The 9 best desserts and snacks in Vilamoura

This was my second visit to Capriccio since arriving in Portugal. The first time I stopped by just for a coffee and water, and this time I decided to have the smoked salmon & quinoa salad with a small bottle of still water. Unfortunately, both visits were disappointing in terms of service. Despite the restaurant not being busy, I had to raise my hand to get the waiter’s attention. On my first visit, I waited around 20 minutes even though there were only two other tables occupied. On my second visit, I sat for a while before I finally had to call someone over to bring me a menu. Once served, no one checked back to see if everything was okay. As for the food, the salad was very basic. The quinoa portion was tiny (barely a tablespoon), and although the smoked salmon was fine, it was minimal — not what I would expect for €18.50. I can only assume part of the price is for the marina view, because it certainly isn’t for generous portions or attentive service. On both occasions there was also an awkward expectation around payment. The first time, when I paid cash, I was immediately asked if I wanted my change before the waiter had even placed it on the table. Overall, while the setting on the marina is pleasant, the service is consistently poor and the food does not live up to the price. Sadly, I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant based on my experiences.

I had a pepperoni pizza and it was amazing. Lots of cheese making it cheesy. It was very quick and delicious. Very friendly and calm/relax. I recommend that you share the cookie mash with two people as it is very filling. Not to expensive and just a great place to eat:

Didn’t have the food so I can’t speak on that. My table had sangria which was very very good. Then we had ice cream. I had the matcha float. It tasted very good however by the time I got In the car I felt so nauseated; like I wanted to throw up. Two other people I was with had the same experience and we all felt sick by the time we were home.

We ordered a pepperoni pizza to share and a small beer each. The food arrived quite quickly but the service was shocking. The waitress was talking to a colleague over her shoulder while delivering our food, slid it on the table and walked off. Practically no engagement at all. The Pizza was very thin and quite tough. Clearly rush cooked. We didn’t eat the whole thing (2 people, just one pizza) it just didn’t taste very nice. When clearing the table she asked if it was ok as we left just under half the pizza. She did however say she was sorry we didn’t find it nice but didn’t seem too bothered. At €17 you would expect a bit better than that I think. Competition is high in the marina, step it up guys, dress smarter, be friendly with your customers, after all…. your customers are your wages!

Some other reviews question the quality of the pizza. I’d say it’s your standard “European but not Italian pizza”. Thin base, modest amount of sauce, too much cheese. It’s not a classic Neapolitan if that’s what you’re looking for but it certainly feels like it’s made fresh on site. So no complaints.

The people serving here were very nice and helpful. However, the food was not good. The pizzas appeared to have come straight from the freezer at a local supermarket and cooked for about 5 minutes. Very poor value.

The iced strawberry matcha latte is really good! I also really liked the truffel fries.

It's good. A popular spot, it was busy busy when we arrived. Service was friendly and efficient. Baked goods were very tasty and so was the coffee. Fairly large selection to choose from.

They have the best Natas I've ever had 😍 Very friendly staff, the food came very fast and was tasty. The prices are good compared to the other restaurants nearby!

It is not only a Pizzeria, You will get there also tasty bakery products. Even it was very busy we have been served fluently and friendly. Prices are acceptable. They offer dark bread rolls, not only the usual white wheat buns.

Good coffee and delicious, fresh pastries. A huge plus for having oat milk and vegan pastries too. The bakes in the picture are not vegan but I had oat milk and tried their vegan bakes another time too.

We stopped here for lunch & were not disappointed. Chicken wrap was tasty but the focaccia was delicious. Natas were probably the best I’ve ever had.

Overall, Amorino is highly recommended for anyone seeking delicious, authentic gelato with a unique and elegant presentation. It’s a delightful spot for both gelato enthusiasts and those simply looking for a sweet treat

Aw so many options and generous scoops. Pricing is with in range as per all other stores will have to visit again before heading back to south africa Fruit options actually taste like the fruit they represent🤣 pistachio was a winner for me. Its a real treat after a good dinner.

We have enjoyed an excellent ice cream, hazelnut and caramel in a cone (7.20€). The price takes getting used to. The ice cream was filled in the cone shaped like a flower. That seemed very appealing. The seats with view of the harbour made the experience perfect.

Authentic gelato is more than just a dessert; it’s a tasting journey that celebrates craftsmanship and genuine ingredients. Once you’ve tried the real thing, it’s hard to settle for anything less ‘’such as pistachios and Piedmont hazelnuts’’

The best ice cream shop in Vilamoura! Fantastic staff and amazing vegan ice cream options. Great system of paying for come/tub and choosing as many flavours as you like. Special mention to Paula and Savannah who always looked after us and welcomed use with big smiles!

Located by the Marina in Vilamoura. Amorino has the some of the best ice cream I've ever tasted and it's presented like a piece of art, absolutely beautiful. The guy who served us was really helpful and let us sample a few flavours before we decided on our combinations. It's a bit more expensive than other places, but totally worth it. We'll be back for more the next time we're in Vilamoura.

Our family enjoyed the many flavors of Gelato offered here. It made for a great treat as we enjoyed the evening at the marina.

The only small drawback is that they don’t always accept card payments, which can be a bit inconvenient for tourists who don’t carry much cash. Still, that’s a minor detail compared to the overall experience. A lovely, friendly place for high-quality ice cream in one of the best locations in Vilamoura — well worth stopping by.

The best ice cream in the world amaizing staff many diferent flavours dificult to choose mine was cheesecake sneakers and pistachio ❤️❤️impossible not love this ice cream and the amazing staff.

I return every year to Vilamoura just to taste the flavours. It's probably the best ice creams I've tried in Portugal. My favorite is the arroz doce

Rude guy at the checkout, I have been coming here for years but today this guy with curly hair was too rude, I was waiting and he asked me if he can help, I told him what I wanted, he just said "tell me how many scoops and pay" After paying another member of staff asked me what flavour I wanted as I stood there, the guy just rudely told me to move, I found that disrespectful so said to him that just let me answer what I've been asked by your colleague and he started misbehaving with me. Arrogant staff should not work in customer service.

The blonde lady w short hair was extremely rude and had a truly appalling attitude. We just walked off and found another gelato place where the staff were super friendly

My go to spot the whole week I was in Vilamoura. I went twice a day everyday. You can’t get bored of all the flavours!

I ordered two scoops (Stracciatella and Churros). The prices are shown clearly, so I don’t think it’s fair to complain about them just for being high. You see them and decide if you want to pay. I was fine with paying more, expecting generous scoops and great ice cream, but the portions felt quite small for the cost. Stracciatella didn’t work for me. The texture was rather chewy and the flavor just didn’t convince me. Churros tasted good, but the texture felt off, leaving a slightly sandy, heavy creamy aftertaste. Staff were friendly and the shop is in a good location, but overall it wasn’t enough to make me want to return.

Delicious ice creams and crepes. The waffles are pre done and very sugary. The ice creams are amazing however the portions are quite small, especially when you order them on top of crepes/waffles. So I would recommend ordering them separately in cones/ cups as they are more generous. We got espresso macchiato as well with oat milk which was good. Great that they have some dairy alternatives as it’s rare in Portugal. The staff were very nice. It’s a shame that all food is served in plastic/ cardboard trays even when eating in. Plates would feel way much nicer.

True-Italian ice cream. Had the banana split with tasty classic vanilla, chocolate and strawberry. Real whipped cream topping. Best I’ve had. Sorry I forgot to take a pic! You’ll just have to go see for yourself. Had a good chat with the owner John. Comfortable outdoor seating area, right next to water. Very reasonable prices. Good piped music playing. I’m glad I live in the Algarve so I can return. Definitely recommend getting your ice cream fix here! You won’t be disappointed!

Staff is very friendly. It's a sweet-tooth's dream stop. We all enjoyed what we chose. My daughter was particularly happy and surprised with the size of her dessert .

Gorgeous bubble waffle with fresh strawberries and pistachio ice cream. And John is so welcoming . And a great supporter of the young sailors who train in Vilamoura over the winter. Always brings a bit of cheer.

Lovely setting, every ice cream flavour you could ask for. Stopped and had an iced vanilla oat latte... 🤤🤤...so good. Saw the crepes and waffles being made and served. Amazing! Worth a visit.

charming little outdoor cafe/gelateria on the vilamoura marina. smoothies are made with fresh fruit and apple juice, though the friendly staff was very accommodating of my request for milk instead for my tots. bubble waffle was a big hit with the kids. iced latte felt a little watered down. gelato is best i’ve tried on the marina!

Love this place! Great food, especially the ice creams! Friendly staff and wheelchair friendly with places to sit inside and outside. Outside seating area is under cover so no problem if it rains. No accessible toilet though and access to the toilet is hindered by tables and chairs.

I asked for 9 glaced donuts to be delivered and I got zero. They just send a bunch of other ones, that didn't taste nice, without contacting me first because they didn't have any at 10 a.m.

Our favorite in Vilamoura , desert, crepes and of course donuts .. I wish we have it in Lisbon Very colorful donuts, many topping, many fillings.. very delicious .. winter time they close very early around 6pm but I guess most places on Vilamoura close at the same time ..

It is what it is. Good coffee albeit from a machine. But it's hot and quick with a donut if you want. My holiday coffee stop when waiting for supermarket to open.

Ice cream was very tasty but staff were very unfriendly. I ordered my ice cream with the employee who informed me in the most unfriendly manner that I needed to prepay. When I asked where I should do this he simply pointed to the till. All of the staff were very sullen and did not assist myself nor the 9 people in my party

Le sorbet citron n'est pas oncteux et degouline de sucre.... La glace kinder bueno ne vaut pas plus le coup. Mieux vaut faire 100 mètres de plus et s'asseoir chez Milan 2, glacier discret mais qui existe depuis plus de 30 ans. Les glaces sont faites maison. Et toujours délicieuses !!!
