Excellent seafood! Had a lovely dinner here with friends. Everyone was very satisfied with their meals and drinks. Good service. It's not cheap, but it's right in a touristy part of town, so that's too be expected. The food did live up to the higher-end price tag. Recommended!

The service is good and Dorsch Filet tastes really great. The best restaurant so far I can find in Warnemünde. For non-German visitors: waiters and waitresses can speak English, but the menu is all in German.

Delicious food and wine for a reasonable price. Excellent setting and good atmosphere for a nice dinner. We didn't dress nicely and weren't challenged. We made reservations and I'm glad we did, because the place filled up very quickly after it opened at 5pm. There were a few other places open at 4pm, just up the street, if you feel like getting a drink before dinner.

Really nice and cozy place. A real fireplace keeps the guests warm in the colder months. Absolutely excellent food made from first class ingredients. Everything cooked to the point. The white chocolate cake was the top of a superb three-course dinner. Also excellent wine selection and very friendly staff. Wonderful place all in all, with very reasonable prices for the quality of food, service and place.

The experience here was first class from the service to the atmosphere to the food. It was only a short walk from the cruise terminal and well worth the effort. But be forewarned, although they did have an English menu available, on the night we were there, English was not well understood. However we were able to get by with my high school level German. Our waitress was very understanding of my feeble attempt at speaking her language and she could not have been nicer. Overall a great experience.

My favorite in Warnemünde. I was there alone and in company several times. The food is outstanding given that places here might be tourist traps. I love the tartare, the steaks, and, omg- the Kaiserschmarrn. Way to go, team! We will be back :-)

We had to waited the food for 1,5 hour. I was expecting they will cook faster like in other Restaurant. The food was yummy, but they abandoned us for 1,5hours and didn't even apology bout it ir or at lest gave us free drink like in other good restaurant or a bit warning in the begining if we will wait really long. My friend, a restaurant chef told me when a restaurant cannot serve a food less than 45 minutes, you should leave.

The atmosphere was neat. The service was good, the staff were very nice. However, the prices are unnecessarily high. The burger doesn't even come with fries if you don't pay extra 4,50 (comes in a pretty tiny bowl) which was absurd. The burger was not terrible, I can say "Man kann Essen!". Overall, definitely not worth the money, consider an alternative.

What I usually say is, if you go to a restaurant and the food is good but the service is bad, then the food will not taste that good anyway. When the service is good and the food is bad, then you might think it taste good anyway because you are well taken care of. But when the food is good and service is good then you hit the jackpot. And this is what happened here!! The food tasted good, yes, but it would have never been so delicious if we wouldn't have been served so well!! Artur was our waiter and since the very first moment it made us feel comfortable and welcomed. He was so gracious and professional as you hardly see it anywhere anymore!! The place was packed and they had just a few waiters but he didn't forget a single thing!!! I am a waitress too and I always feel that I have to mention it when the service was exceptional. Amazingly fresh seafood and great quality meat. Super friendly staff. Very cosy atmosphere. My only suggestion would be to go easy on the sauces. The sauces are delicious in their own right but they tend to crowd out the delicate flavours of the base food, be that fish or meat.

We had a decent lunch at Carls Restaurant on a Sunday. It is one of the few restaurants providing VEGAN dishes on their menu, which we appreciated a lot. We had the vegan burger, which was quite tasty but a bit small, considering the price. The vegan Meatballs and rice where good, but could’ve been a bit more seasoned and perhaps added some additional veggies, like broccoli or carrots! All in all a good stop for a vegan friendly lunch!

The food was delicious, we ordered as appetizer Kokos Chili shrimps. And for main dishes pasta pesto with chicken and cheeseburger. All was so tasty. And the service was superrrr! .. recommended Restaurant for sure!

I get it, it is a touristic zone and the food was good, but it was really really OVERPRICED for the amount of food you are getting. Especially the mix of fish and “seafood” plate which was almost 35€ and we thought it would be for 2/3 people at least but it was only for one. Only had 3 half fillets of fish the size of 4 fingers, the smallest “scampi” which wasn’t even eatable and 1 shrimp spieße. Maybe we should have not ordered the “big” plate!! Also it seems like the staff doesn’t want to work, we called at 12pm when they opened the phone and wanted to reserve beforehand, they told us they had a big group of people and were full, but then we tried going in person and the place only had 3 tables and we could sit wherever.

Fisch plate was amazing, polite staff and great attention to corona requirements. ambient is old style with nice sea elements. Definitely visit again ;)

I dont usually eat Seafood but since I'm in Rostock I had to try it. The food is actually really good We tried, scrambled egg with shrimp which is really tasty And We tried Codfillet "Strindenbergs" which has a layer of mastured and pickles on top of it, this one for me was the best dish Also we've had the one with multi fish in it I forgot its name sorry =P The Quantity is really huge and more than enough for one person.

The best soup which I ever tried! I was very surprised with this restaurant. Portions are pretty big and not so pricey like similar restorants in this area. Pure recommendation

Was in town from a cruise (of course), and we had some time to kill. After wandering around a while, we found this lovely place. We couldn’t hear any English being spoken, so figure it would be more authentic than most places. The menu was in German, but had a English “translations” on the back page. I got some sort of fish three ways, while the bride and kid had chicken schnitzel. Everything was fantastic, but I’m still not entirely sure what I ate.

The service was good, as well as the atmosphere , with beautiful views of the sea. The food, however, was not good. The lamb tasted like it was cooked in a rancid oil and the spaghetti was overly buttered. I do not recommend for dinner, but, perhaps for a glass of wine and a nice atmosphere.

Very outdated 5star hotel in prime Location. Without this Location it wouldnt even be a 5star at all. Just been an afternoon in their Panorama Cafe. Enjoyed the coffee and the View. - Came by car with Baby and used their own i door parking. Unfortunately it wasnt mentioned anywhere what kind of car size will fit. We had big issues changing the Floors to find a parking. And almost crashed the car like the people behind US. They couldnt make it around the curve and totally crashed the side mirror and his door. - also the indoo parking isnt Barrier free. It had only Stairs. No change to get out or change the Floors when you come with Baby stroller or wheelchair or any physical Handicap. Its a absolut no go! - parking there is very costly. 1st hr 4€ After that each Additional hr 3,50€. The vending machine to pay for parking only allowed card payment. No Cash.

Location is great and thats about it. Huge building from socialistic times full with pensioners. Service is hit or miss - some personell friendly and some are just grumpy. Curious how this hotel got a 5 star rating - more a 3 star in my book, as i dont get any luxury vibes from it. At any rate, it is way overpriced.

I loved this place, from the history it has during the hard times and the breathtaking views of the Baltic Sea out the balconies to the delicious buffet breakfast they serve everyday and top notch wellness spa and their well trained staff. I really recommend this place if you are in search of a quiet weekend of relaxation. The piano playing in the lobby’s bar in the evening to the relaxed penthouse bar at night you will have a great time. Mind you I came in November 2021. Enjoy it.

Really nice visit today for brunch! Lovely atmosphere and impressive interior, lots of charm with the arches and shelves of drinks. Food was lovely, breakfast and lunch! Lots of choice and something for everyone. Coffee, juices as well as alcoholic drinks included (I had some Prosecco for breakfast and some red wine for lunch). I’m not impressed. Food was good, but the menu was dividend into two main uptions; Meat or vegetarian. Be prepared; if you choose a meat dish: don’t expect to see any greens om your plate. Quite delicious. Atmosphere is nice, perfect for chilling with friends or family. Suitable place for having dinner. Only a minus side is the self service, which is not quite a good decision if you want to eat outdoor and order 2 meals for yourself (Quite impossible to open the door while having both of your hand carrying the meals). Other than that, good place.

The atmosphere is nice inside but everything is self service. The food and drinks ordering is separate. The drinks were fine but the food was extremely slow and bad… after ordering, we waited 40 mins (I have the receipt) before the food was ready. To my shock, the fish & chips dish was like a kids meal (look at the photo!!!) how can you call this fish & Chips?? Please go elsewhere or try one of the side stalls for cheaper and better quality!

First time tasting a broiler and was amazed. The broiler is finger-liking good. The mayonnaise sauce goes the best, loved the service. It’s easier to get a seat with two people, otherwise you would have to wait for some time.

Located in the 5 star hotel Neptune right next to the beach, this is a great spot for a yummy grilled chicken and crisps and authentic retro DDR vibes. The „Grillstube“ was renovated in 2016 and the interior design restored as close as possible to the original from 1971. Next to the entrance there are 4 of the original tiles that were recovered while the make-over. The term „Broiler“ versus „gegrilltes Hähnchen“ for a grilled chicken is one of the most reknown terms that divided the former East and West Germany linguistically. One can also still read the word „Puszta sauce“ that shows the affinity to the former socialist „brother state“ Hungary. Our broiler was juicy and the simple authentic seasoning with salt, pepper and red paprika reminded me of my Sunday meals at my grandparents’. The chicken are still marinated every day by the restaurant for a couple of hours before they are put on the turning grill. The crisps we only salted, had the right texture and were served next to a serving of cole slaw. The Neptune Riesling from Rheingau I head instead of a local beer worked well with the food. The staff was very friendly and efficient in the crowded place. There is a waiting list since immediate seating is unlikely during peak hours and one gets a buzzer one can take outside and which lights up when it is one’s turn. We waited for about 40 minutes at a Friday night and spent the waiting time at the beach.

While visiting Warnemünde Germany from my hometown of San Francisco, California, Grillstube Broiler was recommended. The restaurant was very small and very busy. The restaurant was very cozy, well lit, and clean. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. I decided to order the 1/2 size Broiler Chicken with Fries, and Cabbage salad. The menu offered beverages and I ordered a large size Rostocker dark beer. The beer was refreshingly cold. I dined at the counter because there were no table seats. The Broiler (rotisserie) Chicken was served hot, moist, and perfectly cut. I absolutely enjoyed the Chicken Broiler meal and my interaction with the workers even though my German language is elementary. I definitely recommend a visit.

The seasoning must be especially made for them. Never had such a delicious chicken before. The fries are also pretty good. Can’t complain about how fast you habe the food. Sometimes you need to wait a bit, but you‘ll receive a beeper from the waiter. with this you can wait outside and enjoy the seaview of the Baltic.

This place was really cute, but no one really spoke English, so we had to translate a few things with our phone. The fish was pretty good, but I think we would have liked it fried harder. They do not have tarter sauce, and they give you some mayonnaise to eat with it. I assume the mayonnaise is to eat with the fish, we did not eat it. Throw some salt and pepper on it with ketchup, and it can help. The people take awhile to check on your table, so much so we got up and went inside to pay. I do not know these folks customs or if they had a problem with us being black, but it was a little weird. I wouldn't eat here again, but appreciate the experience.

one italian, one spanish, one brazilian and turkish wanted to eat at this much recommended by locals. disaster service. not only they don't speak a single english word, waiter/waitresses has annoying manners and look. first, the nife and fork set were thrown on the table. later it was changed as if there were nobody on the table. beers came after 30 min or later. food was not bad but we didn't enjoyy it.

Though this restaurant doesn't look like much from the outside they serve a variety of great foods. The duck is highly recommended and looking through the assortment of uncommon authentic dishes is absolutely worth it. The waiter was extremely nice and very accommodating even for a very large group who made the reservation only an hour prior. This is also one of the view places which label their vegetarian and vegan options.

We went there for a quick and early lunch. The person serving us was very kind, and polite. The food portion was quite big and the food generally was great!

We booked a table 3 days in advance with Google, which was pretty pleasant. I recommend (booking a table), because it gets really busy. We waited in forever for the menu, to place the order and for our food, but the staff was really nice and offered us a ton of free dessert which was really attentive. Food tasted amazing, but was kinda cold. Would recommend though because of the food and the location. The price - performance - ratio is amazing for Warnemünde.

Had dinner and it was amazing! The wait staff had everything under control in a way you rarely get to see in a restaurant. We had the Brathering and the Fish platter which was wonderful. The mashed potatoe was freshly made, which is not usual and a great detail! Can only highly recommend this place!

We travelled to Warnemunde by train from Berlin. The hotel is a short walk and ferry ride from the station. Beautiful hotel with views of the river/park/yacht harbour depending on your room. We have stayed here several times in winter and spent time in Warnemunde, in the peaceful Spa (5 Sauna) and pool and evenings in the bar. Every member of staff was friendly and attentive.

A top end spa resort experience on the Baltic coast north of Rostock. Incredible service, staff everywhere. Well appointed, comfortable spa and a number of connected shops and restaurants. Incredible buffet breakfast spread. Big beds, big rooms. One snag. Really, really bright sodium floodlights all around the hotel prevent you from enjoying a balcony view after dark and will penetrate the bedroom unless you fix the curtains tight.

We had our family Christmas here. Besides the nice design of the hotel and the clean rooms, there is nothing good about this place. The service here was unfriendly, slow, and disorganized from the start of our booking through check out. The staff seems to be mainly comprised of grumpy trainees. They also don’t seem to speak German or English very well, which understandably makes it difficult to provide good service. The painful experience started with the booking process. Our group wanted a block of 6 suites. The reservations team took 7-9 days to respond between each email, sometimes only after me following up. In the week leading up to our stay, the team was a bit more responsive, but in general they made it needlessly difficult to organize our stay with them. When we arrived, we didn’t even get a “hello” from the reception. The keys were shoved in our face and no info or help was offered (no info about breakfast, where the facilities were, no offer of help with our luggage). Except for the breakfast, the food is overpriced, the selection is not great, and taste-wise, the food was pretty bland and unmemorable. One night in da Mario, we waited 20 mins to get our leftovers packed, and we ended up just leaving as it seemed the staff had totally forgotten about us. Another night in the Brasserie, the staff seemed very annoyed to serve us - to be fair it was busy that night, but our group felt unwelcome and uncomfortable there. They’ve overpriced a lot of their food and drink; make sure to bring your own water bottles or you’ll be stuck paying 7,90€ for 0,5L water. One night we asked for two liters of water delivered to the room; the bill including service charge and tip was nearly 40€ 😄

All in all nice resort with an interesting location on the Ostsee coast. Nice architecture and comfortable rooms, offers spa program, boat renting, has a nice restaurant and bar. It would get better rating if not prone to incidents with customers. An senior male receptionist (called Uwe, I think) insisted on paying accomodation fee although it was already paid (prepaid by a tourist agency which did the booking for the room). Upon he was politely asked to check with the manager, he simply said "No." I was shocked by such a reaction, as it was impossible to reach hotel manager in such a high-end (or supposed to be a high-end) resort! Only after his more approachable colleague, Ms. Carrillo Gomez interventioned, a senior staff member was somehow found and the matter luckily resolved in the last minute for me to catch the train for returning home... So a word of advice: 1) Do not pre-pay for the room, you may be scammed into trying to pay twice 2) If you do, print out the invoice and remind the staff tah you paid for the room every day 3) Avoid dealing with Mr Uwe 4) Wash out the bitternes of possible hostile interactions at the hotel bar

Across from the beach, friendly little birds fill the ambiance of this establishment. The apple strudel, fun apple sauce with egg not and ice are a must try! Friendly service and friendly prices with good food - you can't go wrong.

Not what I expected when I heard they had a BBQ place near the hotel I was staying. The food was not good for me and also my friends. The service was very slow, poor quality and unapologetic. Three waitresses for 4 tables and the food took so long to come out. The ribs were dry almost burnt and after complaining they brought out the same quality of dish and the BBQ sauce was no way near what a grilling sauce it’s supposed to taste but At this point we ate it because we were hungry after the long wait. Drinks were also served wrong and over all a bad experience.

Very friendly staffs and good menu. We ordered pefferling soup and seafood soup for starter. Both are very good and fresh. For main course, we ordered shrimps with tomato risotto and pefferling rumpsteak with pan fried potatoes. Tomato risotto is very delicious, shrimps are fresh. Rumpsteak is juicy, pefferling is well seasoned. Overall very good, we will definitely visit again.

We had dinner there on the 31st of July, it was one of the worst customer experience we ever faced. The food was okay. The potatoes and rice were very overcooked, but the meat was good. I did not like having a single use plastic straw in my drink, but maybe ecology is a personal preference. However, the corona hygiene concept is not respected at all, and the team had no respect for the customers, which is unacceptable. No employee was wearing a mask, the restaurant was crowded (very few distance between customers, definitely not 1,5m), no product seemed to be used to disinfect the tables between clients, the menu was made of paper so it probably was not disinfected either, there was no Luca app or other registration available on our table (though I believe I saw it on another one). When the waiter asked us if everything was okay, we let him know that we were not super satisfied about the food but that we also were feeling a bit uncomfortable because of the lack of masks. He left without doing anything about it. When the time came to pay, the same waiter was laughing hard with one of his colleague, ridiculously getting help to wear two masks, and he made fun of us. "Anything to make you feel comfortable. 😂" Terrible experience in general. We should have left immediately.

Disappointing Dining Experience

Honestly, for a restaurant that is specialized on Schnitzel I found it to be fairly disappointing. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't bad or anything. It's just that I could have prepared a better Schnitzel at home. The meat was decent, tender but not much seasoned (that's subjective though, so no real criticism here). The breading of the cutlet on the other hand was not so good (you could see the Schnitzel wasn't souffléd, i.e. in tossed in a pan with butter such that the breading rises, creating these marvelous bubbles between breading and meat cutlet). Additionally, I got the mushroom & cream side, which tasted like convenience food. Just horrible, sorry, I felt bad after eating that. I hope the other types of Schnitzel are better prepared and the other sides are good. My experience so far was rather disappointing like I mentioned. The bright side was that the service was great. Very welcoming, very friendly, kudos to the staff, I felt very comfortable.

However, I wouldn’t recommend it for vegans, as the menu is heavily focused on dishes like schnitzel, which are typically not vegan-friendly. There are only a few (around three) vegan options, and they don’t quite match the quality of the main dishes(for experience before). The atmosphere is pleasent , not too loud, but not too quiet either — creating a comfortable dining experience. The space is ideal for small groups of up to four people; larger groups might find it a bit cramped.

We made a reservation for 9:30 online. We were not informed at all on the website that we could not eat, only drink. We arrived at the restaurant and we were told we could not order food. Good luck to anybody else leaving a one star review, even if your words are true they will try and take away your freedom of speech… luckily google sided with me after I provided the evidence.

As of 2025 there is no vegan option on the menu. If you Google looking for vegan options in Warnemünde this place will come up - it was hard to find anything vegan to eat in town so we tried it. Not having a vegan option is OK! I understand. But having a waiter laugh at you for asking if there's anything you can eat is unnecessary. It felt very unpleasant so we left immediately.

But what we really didnt like was the service, we clearly ordered 2 single shots and they charged us for doubles, the waitress was denying that we ordered singles and when we challenged her she said she was very upset because she gave us bread which she didnt charge us for. We think its not acceptable that the staff challenged something we clearly remember ordering and that she was even counting how many pieces of bread she gave us for free. We think this is really not a good customer service and the waitress was telling us we lied. Very disappointing

Lea Marie was superbly hospitable. My German is only still progressing and from the Dorian at the front to Lea Marie, who attended to me, they were polite and patient. For one she also spoke slowly so I would understand easier and repeated once or twice. I appreciated that! The food. I ordered a tapas and a soup and wine. The gebratenes saiblingsfilet tapas was super. The Fischsuppe was also lavishly full of mussels and fish and a prawn on top. But sadly the middle shell had broken into so many small pieces that when I scooped form the bottom I kept getting the brittle shell in my mounts. After a few spoons it was unpleasant enough that I was done with the soup. The 4 stars are for the superb hospitality and almost great food!

We had dinner on the sun porch with my parents on a sunny 17°C evening. Unfortunately, the heat lamps were on full blast, which made it uncomfortably hot despite the mild weather — something to be aware of if you're visiting on a warm day. My mom had the same fish dish but with fries, remoulade, and a cucumber salad — again, very tasty and very generous portions. My dad had the smoked salmon pasta, which he enjoyed, though his portion seemed a bit smaller than ours — he ended up helping my mom finish hers (she’s a light eater). Prices were quite reasonable: €15.90 for the fish and around €17 for the pasta — definitely more affordable than many other places I looked at online. Overall, we enjoyed the meal and would come back, hopefully with more comfortable temperatures on the porch next time!
