Blackmarket Bakery @ The Camp offers a delectable array of in-house made pastries, baked goods, and food that varies with the seasons. From chocolate babkas to berry tarts, their menu is ever-changing. The Costa Mesa location at The Camp provides ample seating for visitors to enjoy their treats while sipping on coffee or working.
The Hidden Gem for Almond Croissants & Cherry Bars If you know, you know. Blackmarket Bakery is one of those spots that, once you discover it, becomes part of your routine. And if you haven’t been yet? Let me put you on. The Almond Croissant That Will Ruin You for All Others This isn’t just any almond croissant—it’s the almond croissant. Consistently flaky, buttery, and packed with that rich, chunky almond filling that feels homemade in the best way. The top is beautifully crisp, the inside is soft and layered, and every bite is perfection. It’s the kind of pastry you think about the next morning and wish you had stocked up on. The Cherry Bar – Underrated But Absolutely Essential This one doesn’t get enough hype, but it should. Their cherry bar is the perfect mix of tart, sweet, and buttery, and the best part? The team here is always so nice—they happily warm it up for you, which takes it to the next level. Warm, gooey, and just the right amount of indulgent. The Move: Pair It With a Flat White from Work in Progress Here’s my routine: grab my almond croissant (or cherry bar, depending on the mood) and then head over to Work in Progress for their flat white. It’s the perfect combo—flaky pastry, smooth espresso, and the kind of breakfast that makes your whole morning better. Don’t Sleep on the Cookies While the almond croissant is the star, their cookies are seriously good too. Soft, chewy, and packed with flavor—whether you go for chocolate chip, peanut butter, or one of their seasonal flavors, you can’t go wrong. Final Thoughts? This Place is a Must. Blackmarket Bakery has that rare mix of incredible pastries, warm service, and a local feel that keeps you coming back. Whether you’re grabbing a quick treat or making it part of your morning ritual, it never disappoints. Tag your coffee & pastry-loving friends—this is one spot worth sharing.

Great bakery with a fun ambiance and a variety of baked goods and more substantial options like sandwiches. I can't speak to the coffee but the matcha was high quality. The breakfast sandwich was great and the upgrade to a crossiont roll was worth it.

Wonderful atmosphere, very great coffeehouse vibes. Remember to try some of the pastries or hot food items! Check out the merch

My parents have been coming here since before I was born so automatically, I’ve grown up coming to this spot. It’s one of my favorites for the food/drinks, atmosphere, and fresh in-house made bread! They have many vegan friendly options such as JustEgg, and dairy free options too. They make a mean lavender oat milk latte and the BEST almond croissant you’ll ever have. The almond croissants taste like they were imported from Paris through an overnight plane. They’re seriously off the charts. They also make some of the best rosemary sourdough bread I’ve ever had. It’s fresh and the rosemary isn’t overpowering, it’s just the right amount. All of their tarts/desserts are certainly worth trying. I stock up on a big box to bring home for Thanksgiving every year. If you’re ever visiting Orange County, this spot is close to the airport and definitely worth visiting for coffee and breakfast/brunch.

Coffee is trash and the service is worse. Their espresso machine was so caked with old grounds I could see it from the counter and they kept telling me they didn’t know why my 7 dollar espresso tasted like old trash. They also charge 15 plus a plate for breakfast, which I was too afraid to eat after seeing the cleanliness of their front end operation.

What a cute bakery and cafe. My Fresh Prince was amazingly tasty! The red pepper Mayo was also very tasty. The bread, bakery and cookie options were phenomenal! Enormous cookies and the Cinnamon Churro Twists are enormous! My pumpkin chai latte was also delish! A MUST if you’re in the area!!
Maria R — Google review
I was not impressed with the food and drinks as much as I was with the display. The mini camper display was cute. Fresh Prince was not lacking flavor because it tasted like nothing. The hot chocolate was, well, just hot, not exactly most delicious. The real issue for me was the wait... It took over 30 minutes for my food and drinks! Maybe it was understaffed, but to wait so long for food and drinks in the morning was quite frustrating. Overall, just an average.

The butter croissant: 5/5 The Pop-tart: 4/5 I got them warmed and really enjoyed both items! The inside has a unique decor with indoor seating and some outdoor seating. Friendly service and fresh bakery items. I'll definitely be back!

Bakery
Cream Pan is a Japanese-French bakery in Tustin that offers a delightful fusion of French and Japanese baking techniques. The owner, Yoshinori Inada, brings his extensive experience to create an array of decadent treats such as the famous Strawberry Croissant and the signature Cream Pan bun filled with rich custard.
I have been coming here for many years. The Boston donut is incredible! Lots of things are. The Apple croissant is surprisingly amazing. They are known for their strawberry cream croissant. Prices are also super reasonable and so the line in the mornings even years later is often out the door, though it moves fast. Sometimes I can just breeze right in and out. Although I give the place an overall close to 5, I must disclose the butter croissant (pictured) is not a 5. The flavor is actually quite good and better than most, even ones I rate higher. But the sound and crunch are not there, so I can only give it a 3.5, sadly. It is consistent throughout the day somehow, whether 8am or 1:30pm (both pictured), so it has that going for it, but I grade tough so I think most people will be happy.

Celebrated an early Mother’s Day with the fam, so guess what I’m bringing?! Strawberry croissants! Parking: There’s a large parking lot, but it’s always busy here, so finding a spot can be somewhat difficult. Ambiance/Environment: They’re always poppin, and yes there’ll be a line. There’s signs everywhere asking for the door to remain closed if there’s a line. Make sure you’re not one of those people that can’t read and leave the door open. It’s pretty small inside. No indoor seating. They do have a small outdoor seating area. Service: Throughput was surprisingly quick for how long the line was. Shout out to the hard working women there. They’re quick & efficient. They do have a heavy accent, and it could be difficult to understand them. Pastries & coffee: We ordered the strawberry croissants, caramel mocha latte, and white chocolate mocha latte. The strawberry croissants are the reasons why we always come back. Love how airy and perfectly crisp their croissants are. The filling isn’t too sweet, and the strawberries are fresh. The lattes were okay .. I saw that they actually make their espressos by hand. The caramel mocha was sweet, of course. The white chocolate mocha was decent. Both could use a stronger coffee taste bc it was pretty light. Pricing: The croissants are expensive, but definitely worth it for any occasion. Will be back to try their other pastries and coffee!

A Must-Visit Bakery Gem — Consistent, Fresh & Always Delicious! After my morning run today, I decided to stop by Cream Pan, one of my all-time favorite bakeries. I’ve been here several times, and I can confidently say I’ve never had a bad experience. The moment you walk in, you’re greeted with the most amazing aroma of freshly baked bread and pastries. The staff is always warm and friendly, and the display cases are filled with everything from sushi rolls and sandwiches to pastries, cakes, and desserts it’s impossible not to find something tempting. I first discovered Cream Pan thanks to my brother when we were in California for my wedding. He stopped by to grab some snacks, and that’s where my love for this place began. We picked up the crispy chicken sandwich, the turkey avocado sandwich, the strawberry and cream sandwich, and of course, the famous olive bread with dipping olive oil and wow, that olive bread is what won me over! Everything was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly made. Since then, I’ve been back several times, and the consistency has been impressive. My favorite item is definitely the turkey avocado sandwich, followed closely by the crispy chicken sandwich. There was one time my olive bread came out slightly burnt, but every visit after that has been perfect they really do pay attention to quality. Today marked my fourth visit, though I arrived a bit late in the afternoon, so many items were already sold out (a good sign of how popular this place is!). They were out of the turkey avocado sandwich, but one of the sweetest employees recommended their egg sandwich, saying it’s a customer favorite. I also decided to finally try their famous strawberry croissant with custard. Both were incredible. The egg sandwich was light, creamy, and super fresh one side had tomato, the other cucumber, giving it the perfect balance of texture and flavor. The strawberry croissant was pure heaven flaky pastry, smooth custard that wasn’t overly sweet, and fresh strawberries dusted with powdered sugar on top. Everything about it was perfect. My mom also loves Cream Pan every time I fly back home to Miami, she makes sure I bring her the olive bread. It’s become our little family tradition now. Overall, Cream Pan is a solid 10/10. The food is consistently delicious, the staff is kind, and the atmosphere is cozy and inviting. It’s one of those rare bakeries that truly lives up to its reputation. Can’t wait to come back and try more from their menu!

Cream Pan Bakery in Tustin offers an impressive selection of fresh bakery items and light meals. Their menu includes a range of sandwiches such as katsu, along with sushi rolls and other Japanese-inspired dishes. Service is consistently quick, prices are reasonable, and the outdoor patio adds to the relaxed atmosphere. Ample parking makes it convenient, though weekend lines can be quite long — a testament to their popularity.
Harry — Google review
The pastry was good! Fresh, tasty, and well made. You can tell they use quality ingredients. I would definitely come back to try more.
Pantea A — Google review
Mediocrity in dessert form: Strawberry croissant: - fruit: no different from what you’d get at Walmart, not sweet, not very fragrant - cream: liquidity, not much happening besides “vanilla” - pastry: same quality as you’d get by buying frozen buff pastry and rolling them before baking Cake roll: - still frozen - yet still somehow still freaking dry (honestly impressive) Pudding: - best of the bunch, vanilla flavor was artificial, too much egg flavor (not the creaminess of yolk, the unpleasant flavor of egg white) Service: bunch of people who couldn’t be bothered, which, let’s be honest given the shitty interior and what they’re probably paid? Fair. All of you praising this place to high heaven, so envious you can be so happy with such low effort products 👌
Anton E — Google review
Delicious pastry with very reasonable price. Lots of other options such as sandos and sushi. This is a hidden gem. My favorite is the raisin toast.
Chao G — Google review
I’ve been coming to Cream Pan for years. The ambiance has always been the same, simple, easy, and welcoming, with lots of fresh food to choose from. It’s been one of the reasons I’ve continued to support them, a reliable go-to spot with consistently good offerings. But today’s experience left me really disappointed. I had purchased some food and a hot large latte, but with errands and a lot on my mind, I accidentally left the drink behind. I called the store shortly after to apologize and let them know I’d be back to pick it up later, or if it was okay for one of my staff members to do so. The first person who answered the phone was extremely rude and dismissive. She gave me clear attitude, made me feel like I was bothering her, and without a word, threw the call to someone else. Thankfully, the second person was kind, professional, and helped me resolve the situation, but the treatment I received initially was uncalled for. The staff was trying to protect one another because when I asked the second girl twice, who that first girl's name was, she wouldn't answer my question. I wasn’t demanding, I wasn’t rude. I even apologized for the inconvenience. I just don’t understand why I was met with that kind of energy, especially when I was just trying to communicate and find a simple solution. I really do love Cream Pan as a brand. But the customer service experience matters just as much as the food. It’s the experience that makes people want to return, and if it starts to feel disrespectful or dismissive, it’s hard to want to keep coming back. I’m disappointed, especially because I care about supporting small businesses. But if staff aren’t trained to treat customers with basic courtesy, it’s going to cost them in the long run.

Moulin is a Parisian-style cafe that offers a true taste of France in California. With its glass counter displaying fresh pastries and classic plats du jour on the menu, the cafe exudes an authentic French ambiance. The founder, Laurent Vrignaud, created Moulin out of his love for the bistro culture he missed from his hometown in Montmartre, Paris.
I’m French and to be honest since I moved to Cali it’s been hard to find a legit French place. I mean an authentic tasting, no extra froufrou. Just legit great French authentic cuisine. Moulin is the first place to deliver on that note! And “cerise sur le gâteau” (yup, cherry on the cake) … several French people or French people actually worked there! The only difference with back home? I actually had great service 👀😅
Patrick V — Google review
This place is incredible! The pastries were so beautiful you almost didn’t want to eat them, almost! They tasted as amazing as they looked. My favorite by far was the lemon tart! Location and parking were easy, but do expect long lines.
L — Google review
This restaurant has the feel of a casual French bistro. The interior walls are decorated with a charming French-inspired design, while the patio—with its tables placed in an unstructured way—adds a touch of European character. Having lived in Italy and visited France several times, I find that this place brings back a little of that atmosphere, which is why I enjoy coming here from time to time. Most of the dishes are quite good, and I would especially recommend the desserts.
Ara — Google review
I was close by and decided to stop because of heavy rain. I am so glad I came here. Everything about my experience was amazing. The server let me pick where I wanted to sit. Service was quick and the food was delicious. I got the pork chops with apples, potatoes and green beans. So delicious and perfect for this weather. A cafe au lait rounded off the experience.
Danisecl — Google review
This is the best French café in OC, maybe even SoCal. Been coming here since the days when it was Pascal, the new management had definitely brought it up a notch or two. Their panini is out of this world, and it's not a complete visit without getting the pastries, from Kouign Amann, Baba au rhum, pear tart, croissant, macaron to finishing with cafe au lait. They also have this wonderful shop with French cookies to wine. While you're there, take advantage of the outdoor patio seating. It's not the most ideal being next to a busy parking lot, especially during the lunch rush hours.
Carl W — Google review
Kid friendly. Good food all around. I was gonna grab yesterday’s day old pastries. But someone grabbed them before I could circle back and get it. Really enjoyed the Piedmontese potato salad, oxtail, and sausage. Yoghurt and eggs delicious too
JUSTIN C — Google review
Proper French bakery, which is tough to find in the U.S., but you’ll certainly pay a pretty penny for the experience. Has the vibes, the sounds, and the smells. Pastries and espresso drinks are top notch with a bit of the pretentious French attitude from the women working the cases to match!
Matthew G — Google review
Excellent! We had gone to two other French Bakeries on our OC excursion trip and then two other Moulin’s and they were closed. We found this Moulin in Newport Beach and they did not disappoint! This was by far the best French bakery than the others we have tried. We would definitely return.

C'est Si Bon Bakery is a long-standing favorite in Orange County, known for its delectable breads, cakes, cookies, and breakfast pastries served in a charming French-style cafe. The bakery's iconic chocolate croissants draw regulars who line up for their morning pastry fix. In addition to the tempting pastries, the bakery offers an array of sandwiches and freshly brewed hot or iced coffee at an affordable price.
This is my favorite sandwich spot near Irvine. The ingredients are wholesome, and the pastries taste absolutely amazing. The coffee is great too.

Go for the baguettes and sandwiches! AMAZING BREAD! The black iced tea was fresh and had an excellent taste. Very affordable and knocks the socks off any chain restaurant. Service was quick and friendly. Outdoor eating area was clean, had nice landscaping and partial sun. I’ll be back.

The fresh bread and pastries are my fave! I really enjoyed their roast beef on a croissant. The portion size of the croissant was perfect for me. I also tried their chocolate croissant and mini pecan pie which I enjoyed. Only complaint is that they were unable to provide an itemized receipt unless I ordered online (traveling for work and needed for reimbursement)

I've passed this bakery numerous times and observed the cue out the door. Mornings and weekends, this place is a local favorite. It's not in a shopping center or on the highway that passerbys would see. As a local OC, I decided to read reviews and then venture inside. Coffees, custom sandwiches, breads and pastries are a reviewed delight. Sitting inside and side patio available after counter purchases. For my first visit a few weeks ago, I bought four desserts, one per day. Today, I returned and bought four more. Lol.
MK — Google review
Originally a customer decades ago. Lunch was frequently turkey on a baguette with a slice of raspberry Kiss of Death cake. I moved away and have no idea when Bruno stopped selling the raspberry version by the slice. IMO, it's SO much better than the mocha version. Though that one's pretty decent. I planned a recent trip around buying a whole raspberry cake and taking home via car trip. Nearly 7 hours in an insulated bag with blue ice packs. Happy to report it made the trip fine though I won't attempt it in the summertime. The cake definitely did not disappoint! Try it, you'll like it. Please lobby Bruno to bring it back by the slice. I'd buy a slice every visit because buying a whole cake isn't practical and 7 hour drive, each way, isn't fun. In other regards: the employees are always great though getting someone to pick up the phone isn't easy. The sandwiches are tasty and a great value as are the baguettes and pastries.
David P — Google review
Very busy on a saturday late lunch time. The line and workers were efficient. Display was well done. Girl behind the counter was not having a great day (or just woeking the lunch rush?). I asked for suggestions. She recommended the pumpkin pie with no explanation. There were no plackards or signs or labels for what the individual goods were. I know what pumpkin pie and cheesecake are. Almost everything else was a mystery. I told her I had never been and didn't get any more support. I ordered cheesecake, pumpkin pie and some sort of cake with half vanilla amd half chocolate mousse. Both the cheesecake and the pumpkin pie were excellent. The vanillaousde was also excellent. The chocolate portion was a step below all the other items/flavors. Not a lot of seating l, but the weather outside was very pleasant. People around me were also pleasant. A little disappointed there was no bread pudding. The baked goods were very good.

I’m avid cyclist and I have group friends that when ride we go to this place to get coffee and pastry. The food is great but the service is bad. Today we stop there to get coffee and the servant was rude and doesn’t smile. You ask questions and they make you rush. This is not the only day that this happens but every time we go here the servants don’t smile or greet you. This place is popular with cyclists and a lot of them come here. I hope the workers would smile and make you feel at home.
Danny S — Google review
C’est Si Bon is a pretty good bakery, and the line is always out the door because it’s so darn cheap. Where else can you get a croissant for <$3? But don’t expect an elevated, authentic French bakery experience. You do get what you pay for. Unfortunately, the low cost is reflected in the quality of some of their items. Some are good for the price, others aren’t worth having even if they’re cheap. WORTH HAVING: -sandwiches (flavorful and great bread) -croissants (not amazing, but decent for the price) -chocolate truffles (so rich and yummy) -baguettes (tasty and served warm) -coffee (decent cup of joe and piping hot) SKIPS: -cinnamon rolls (dry and not great flavor) -brownies (taste cakey, not fudgy like a brownie should) -muffins (they don’t look appetizing, because they aren’t) I haven’t tried their cakes or tarts yet but will give those a shot next! Overall I think it’s worth standing in line for some pretty affordable delights, but just know it’s hit or miss.

French’s Bakery is a classic and renowned bakery with locations in Mission Viejo, Orange, and Costa Mesa. They specialize in crafting beautiful cakes, cupcakes, cookies, danishes, and pastries that have delighted locals for over 50 years. Their traditional recipes have given them staying power as a neighborhood favorite. While some find the staff not too friendly and the lack of Apple Pay inconvenient, many still flock to French’s for their delicious treats like cream cheese danishes and bear claws.
Just happened into this fabulous Bakery!! Oh my goodness!! I wanted one of everything!! Not only did it look so good, but it tasted awesome also!! The tables outside were nice to sit at. I would definitely come back!

We ordered a birthday cake and they did a beautiful job! The service was wonderful and they had our cake ready when we picked it up. It was also delicious! We had the vanilla cake with buttercream and it reminded me sooo much of my favorite Florida cakes from Publix—iykyk! Thank you for the wonderful cake and smash cake! My little one loved it!
Sarah — Google review
They used to offer a uniquely special omelet cheese bread with a jalapeño option as a daily option and it would sell out every day. Now it is just special order but it is worth the trip and the special order. Enough so that when I travel from out of state, I schedule time nearly every trip to get to French's after calling a day in advance for the cheese bread, extra cheesy. It is about $7 a loaf and well worth it. Imagine a firm, pillowy textured bread with strong veins if golden cheddar mixed throughout a moist egg based dough. The mouth feel is excellent and the cheesy, slightly salty taste results in a total loaf being consumed as a meal substitute. Very hard to put down. Almost as if a deliciously cheesy quiche morphed into a loaf of bread. French's was hit hard by covid and had to consolidate some stores. I worry some day it will no longer be around, similar to the classic Claim Jumper of old (bought out and commercialized elsewhere into a shell of its former self). This is a bread that a cheese monger or bread lover should try before you die. Other than that, French's has a large variety of baked treats, bread and they make excellent custom cakes. It might remind you of an actual French bakery you might encounter in Saint Germain. Trust me and treat yourself to this delicacy, a treat I haven't encountered anywhere else.

Celebrating a co-worker's birthday, we stopped at French's Bakery in Costa Mesa to pick up a cake for a surprise birthday party. The staff took care of me, making sure the cake was ready to go and I was in and out in less than 5 minutes. They have a wide selection to choose from and if you have enough time, you can have custom cakes made. Great prices. Definitely will use again.

I ordered on DoorDash because of the reviews I paid extra because I live a long way away. Very disappointed no better than average what you get at a supermarket for the cookies for the cupcakes . these taste like they’re made with mixes just like you could buy in the store chocolate chip cookies by the dozen are mediocre. I’m really disappointed. I wanted to have something really good.

Excellent bakery. My wife had been a French's supporter when she was young and living in the Costa Mesa area. We are in Colorado now, but when visiting Disneyland, we make sure we go to French's and pack a cooler on our way back home. Update: 2025, things seemed to have changed, smaller portions, not tasting the same. Most likely will not go out of my way to stop when visiting Disneyland now living in Washington State.

Simply Sweet Cakery is a delightful choice for last-minute cake and dessert table requests. The company offers delicious flavors, making it difficult to choose just one. Customers rave about the amazing desserts even years after their events. Working with Brooke and Caroline is a breeze, as they are informative and accommodating. They provide professional service, affordable prices, on-time delivery, and delectable treats that guests love. Highly recommended for weddings or any special occasion!
We reached out to Simple Sweet Cakery to make our wedding cake and they were very courteous and communicative the entire time. We got to pick up a cake tasting kit to choose our flavor and the cake was ready on time and convenient to pick up. Most importantly it was insanely delicious and everyone including people who claimed they weren't big cake fans loved the cake!

Simply Sweet Cakery made the wedding cake of my dreams. They were very responsive, helpful, and professional throughout the process. I knew exactly the cake I wanted and provided them with photos and they did not disappoint. Not only was the cake visually stunning, but the cake itself was moist and delicious. We tried six different flavors to land on the three that would go on each tier of the cake. The tasting cakes were mini cakes to go which helped to make it easy and let family members try in the fun too. Overall, we were very happy with their service and final product.
Alexa S — Google review
We were given Simply Sweet Cakery as one of the bakery options through Wedgewood Weddings. After trying their sample cakes and desserts, I was very excited to select them for our wedding to make a small 2-tier cake and dessert bar for our guests. Our guests raved about all the desserts (cookies, mini cupcakes, bars) and I was very happy with our cake flavor selection (Vanilla with Raspberry Chantilly cream & Strawberry with Vanilla Chantilly cream)! The only reason I removed one star is because I had a vision for the cake, that was shared with the team via email (and rough photo attached here), but it did not end up as I had expected. I purchased a LEGO cake topper off of Etsy, and wanted to tie in LEGO florals and succulents instead of using our fresh florals. I provided a bag of pre-assembled orchids and succulents to place around the cake, but was surprised to see only one of each displayed, making the cake look very plain. I did say it could be adjusted from my suggestion, but I didn't expect that to mean more than half of the parts would be removed. So I think just having a means to communicate day-of, if something is that different, to confirm the couple is happy with the finished product would be helpful in the future. I would still highly recommend Simply Sweet, since everything was delicious! Photo credit: @ashleystrongsmith_

We had an amazing experience with Simply Sweet Cakery for our wedding! Brooke and Christina were very responsive via email and answered all our questions and were able to provide recommendations for quantities for our wedding size. We picked up our cake tasting a few months prior and they also included a box of an assortment of their different desserts like cookies and bars to help us select what we wanted for our dessert table. We got SO many compliments on the wedding cake (went with red velvet) and some have said it’s the best wedding cake they’ve ever had! It wasn’t too sweet, the frosting was perfect and light, the cake was moist and fluffy, and looked beautiful among the mini desserts at our wedding table. All the mini sweets went by so quickly and we could’nt be happier with the outcome! We also rented all the cake stands from them and they set up the layout beautifully! Highly recommend!

The folks over at Simply Sweet are incredible. Everything from ordering our tasting box to our wedding day was easy and Violet and Christina were super kind. We served their semi-naked strawberry cake at our wedding, and we have continued to receive compliments on how incredible our cake tasted. We have actually ordered it two times after the wedding for birthdays because it was so good! Thank you for everything, Simply Sweet Cakery Team! You’ll be hearing from us again soon for another cake order!

We had this company apart of our Wedgewood Wedding package and let me say we were super impressed! The cakes and treats were very delicious and the customer service was absolutely outstanding! The cookies and cream cake was the absolute best! Can't wait to celebrate our anniversary with the tier that we saved! Wonderful experience and would definitely recommend to anyone who's getting married or needs sweet treats for an event!

We had Simply Sweet create our wedding cake in March 2022 and couldn't be happier. They're reasonably priced, responsive, easy to work with, and most importantly, the cake was delicious! Moist, light, and not overly sweet. They also include an anniversary cake if you're local, which is a nice touch. Thank you, Brooke and Christina!

SusieCakes, located at 3321 Hyland Avenue Ste J, is a delightful bakery that specializes in homemade desserts such as cookies, pies, and custom layer cakes. The founder's inspiration comes from her fond memories of bonding with her grandmothers over baked goods. The bakery offers unconventional treats like lemon bars and nutty peanut butter sandwich cookies alongside classic favorites like chocolate chip cookies.
We loved our cake from SusieCakes…so delicious and beautiful! We got the classic vanilla on vanilla and every single slice was gone in a flash. The girls at the counter were lovely as well.

SusieCakes is a solid place to grab dessert. The shop itself is very cute and appealing to the eye. On my last visit, my wife and I got a few different items. The first was their chocolate cookie. This was a large cookie, had awesome crispy edges, and a good chew. Next, we got the 7-layer bar. This was my favorite thing that we got at SusieCakes. It was absolutely delicious, the crunchy coconut paired nicely with the soft and chewy cookie crust. Lastly, we got a slice of the confetti celebration cake. This cake is very good, but it was a bit dry and had a bit too much salt in my opinion. This cake slice also was heavy on the icing, which some people prefer but it was a bit much for my liking. Don't get me wrong, it's an amazing piece of cake but was expecting more!

DELICIOUS!!!!!! These cakes are scrumptious and SUPER soft! We ordered these for our staff appreciation and they were such a hit! They offer a wide variety, so there is definitely a flavor for everybody. They even have flourless cupcakes, which didn’t appeal to me but the sweet employee Cynthia convinced me to get one and she was right, it was amazing and you couldn’t tell it was flourless! The frosting had the right amount of sweetness for me (sometimes it can be overbearing but not Susie Cakes). I also bought a slice of lemon cake for myself and that is definitely worth the calories. The lemon curd in the middle is yummy! All the staff was so friendly, especially Katie and Cynthia, who patiently waited for me to pick out the flavors. My top 3 flavors are: Red Velvet, Lemon Cake and Coconut. Our staff is spread out all over Southern CA, so I go to experience 3 of Susie Cakes' locations.

Great service from the staff. Ordered a lemon cake that was slightly too sweet for my taste. They have a wide choice of cakes and flavours.

Such a sweet place, beautiful cupcakes, bigger cakes. We bought a traditional chocolate cake, just one piece, for a little less than $10. It fed three of us. The cake was good, flavorful, and a bit too sweet to my taste but it was right for the occasion.

Susie's is featuring their most delicious season cupcake yet, See's Candy Chocolate Bordeaux! It was incredible! Service at the Soco location is always stellar. Many of the staff have been there long term and you can tell they care about what they do enough to do it well and with a personal touch. We especially love Noe ❤️

How you doin, cupcake? SusieCakes, now open in Costa Mesa at the South Coast Collection, had a Grand Opening Celebration for people to enjoy. DJ MoJoe spun the 1's & 2's for our audible pleasure. For the kiddo's, facepainting & balloon characters brought smiles to their faces. Passed trays of various complimentary baked goods were brought out by the friendly staff- Whoopie pie's Chocolate chip cookies Classic brownies Cupcakes SusieCakes makes home-style American dessert favorites from scratch. No mixes, artificial ingredients, HFCS or trans fat. I can definitely taste the difference. Even though there was a large crowd during the time I was there, the staff were quick & efficient with taking orders and ringing up customers. You can also see the employees hard at work, whipping up their delicious baked goods for the masses. All the samples were a pleasure to eat. I think I ate too fast because I started to feel a wee bit sick ;p Good thing I had spicy miso ramen at Santouka Ramen afterwards, with the fatty broth to soak up all that sugar. Service was excellent, along with all the desserts. My mom was appreciative of the items I brought her. Parking is complimentary valet & self-parking near the OC Mart Mix. SusieCakes, congrats on your newest location! I'm a fan of your bakery delights. I admire your philosophy of creating from scratch & using high quality ingredients. Here's to much success & I know I will be back in the near future! Thanks, Susie! Highly recommend! NOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOM

What a great find it was! I stopped on my way because I was curious about the bakery and had to taste my usual set: a cappuccino with almond croissant. Coffee was excellent, just the right strength and tasted great. I asked for oat milk and it was delicious. The croissant was baked to perfection and the size was too big to finish in one sitting, so I ended up taking the rest out. I also found out that the lady who served me was the owner. She was so nice and accommodating! I absolutely plan on making it my go to place for pastries and caffeine fix.
Elena J — Google review
I came in here because I kept seeing this place to and from work. The prices somewhat good, $6 for an almond croissant and$3.75 for a strawberry muffin Quality of the food is low. The croissant was super heavy, not flaky. My strawberry muffin seemed just like a box of strawberry cake mix. I was expecting quality baked goods but was disappointed. Wouldn't consider coming back. EDIT: Look at the comparison in the croissants... the light airy one is how they should be.
E T — Google review
So delicious! We tried the strawberry and chocolate cream rolls, the Kouign-amann, and the cinnamon rolls—all delicious! The pastries were excellent. There were many other pastries, both puff pastry and non-puff pastry, cheesecake, and various desserts... but we couldn't try everything, but we wanted to 😋... it was all very tempting! It's worth stopping in, even if you're not on the way! Highly recommended. Parking on site.

Pastries taste great but not sure if I will ever order a cake from them given the multiple and consistent complaints about the owner not treating some customers right, in particular, whenever there is a disagreement. Customers may not remember how your pastries taste, but they will remember how the owner made them feel.

If you're on the hunt for delightful baked goods, look no further than Tlaxcala Bakery Panaderia. This charming spot is a family favorite that has been serving up delicious treats for over 30 years. Known for their mouthwatering pan dulce, including mini conchas and bollios at unbeatable prices, this bakery truly captures the essence of authentic Mexican flavors. Recently, I ventured in to order a tres leches cake for my daughter's birthday.
My daughter wanted a tres leches cake for her birthday. This is the bakery we normally go for our pan-dulce( Mexican sweet bread) so I asked if they could make me a cake. I saw one in their display case and asked if they could make it tress laches in a different color. The cashier said she wouldn’t be able to make it. The Baker came out from the back and said we can definitely make it and she did not disappoint.

I used to come here back in the late 90' and early 00' there was always fresh bread no matter the time. I stopped coming here in the late 00' as this stopped being the norm. I have tried it on a few different occasions since then and I always run into stale bread. Today was no different stale bread and some burnt. I don't know if they only bake in the morning and by early evening it's all stale. I can say that the bread I got today seems like it was baked yesterday. I don't think I will be back. I miss the days that there was baking multiple times a day and the humidity from the warm fresh bread would make you feel like a hot stuffy summer day in Texas.

Over the years, it has become a local landmark known for its warm and welcoming atmosphere. The bakery is renowned for its personalized service and ability to accommodate special requests. Customers have praised the delicious Princess cake, which is a specialty of the bakery.
We got a Millefoglie Italian wedding cake from Poul’s and it was such a hit at our wedding! The Poul’s team brought it all the way to San Diego for us and we danced, sang, and enjoyed the delicious cake with all of our loved ones! So many people were asking for their contact info because of how loved it was! Wishing them continued success and hope to eat this cake again in the future!

Ayliz was so accommodating in taking my order less than 24 hours before I needed it. The Millefoglie cake that she created was 7 x 7 for mine and my husband‘s five year anniversary. Our wedding cake in Italy was very similar and I have to say that the one from Poul’s might have been better than our wedding cake! It was outstanding. Thank you so much for everything! I’ll be back again

I needed to order a birthday cake for my mom's 81st birthday. It was a Tuesday, and I needed.it by Friday. Ayliz graciously said okay and I told her I was on a budget. I wanted a simple cake with flowers on it. She worked with me and created such a beautiful cake! You would never know a limited budget was involved! It was detailed. It was very simple to order, it was all handled by phone and by text and photo ideas. The cake was chocolate with a mocha mousse. Oh my goodness!! This was an amazing cake! So good!! The buttercream wasn't too sweet, it was delicious and smooth. The cake was moist and chocolate goodness! The flowers were made from buttercream frosting, no fondant here! People at the restaurant were commenting on how pretty the cake was!! I would definitely keep Poul's as a go to bakery for cakes! You need to, too!!

Rye Goods is a delightful organic bakery and deli that has blossomed from humble beginnings in a garage to three charming locations, each brimming with mouthwatering baked treats. This gem specializes in sourdough bread made from freshly milled heritage grains and wild yeast, featuring an impressive 18-year-old rye sourdough culture that adds a unique twist to their pastries. Among their standout offerings are the iconic morning buns—think of them as cinnamon rolls elevated to new heights with a sugary finish.
I would highly recommend Rye Goods bakery they have exceptional service, a professional staff, and the highest quality baked goods! My wife and I particularly enjoy their coffee cafe, chocolate chip cookies, and don't even get me started on how good their breakfast burrito is! To many great choices to list them all! Great organization, keep up the good work!

I really enjoyed my experience at Rye goods, the staff is super friendly and the food was superb! I got the danish rye bread to go and the sesame seed bagel with chives cream cheese. They are not frugal and even found myself taking out a bit of the extra cream cheese. their bagels are delicious and are served nice and warm 😋

The coffee and seasonal bagel sandwich i ordered was amazing. I usually buy their coffee cake (to die for), but decided to get the Sammy and it didn’t disappoint! I came to the Tustin location and actually sat in their little outdoor area which was so peaceful. I loved the open windows to watch their bakers make the bread, and their front of house employees Mags and Kim were so friendly and helpful. I loved how chill the atmosphere was and really enjoyed my morning. My coffee and food were ready quickly and I would 100% recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice place to relax and enjoy quality food, coffee, and customer service! I’d highly recommend grabbing one of their loaves to take home!!

A trip to Lido isn't complete with Rye Goods - the cutest bakery offering pastries, breads, and food using high-quality and healthy ingredients. All the pastries are divine - my fav being the banana bread, thumbprint cookie, and morning bun. Their seasonal sandwiches and soups are perfect to pick up for lunch. Love the cozy and rustic interiors - not a lot of seating, but you can enjoy them outside in Lido Village.
Yuri J — Google review
I was so excited to try Rye Goods, they have such delicious looking and unique pastries. There's easy street parking nearby and the place wasn't busy when I went on a Saturday morning. I choose a pretzel pastry and a lemon meringue pastry, both of which were gorgeous. But unfortunately that's all they were. The filling in the pretzel pastry was burned, so there was an overwhelming acrid taste to each bite. The lemon meringue had random patches that were incredibly salty. In the end I couldn't eat either of them, which was so disappointing. The employees were so friendly and the products they carry seem so amazing, I'm hoping that maybe I came on an off day or choose the wrong pastries. I might go back to give them another chance, but for now I unfortunately can't recommend this bakery.
Kelsey — Google review
5 Stars for their unique offerings They will offer unique takes on the usual pastries, usually with seasonal ingredients, such as hand pies with plum fillings. They also have a fridge with picnic items - salads, sandwiches and pasta. Everything looked yummy and make it worth a return trip. They also sell various types of bread. I'd love to see more bakeries like this, as other places are pretty much interchangeable. Go here if you want quality baked goods with a unique twist.

Outstanding bakery/commissary that uses really unique flours for their baked good. They also have a great selection of natural wines, ciders, and other artisanal goods.
Sylvia L — Google review
I was so disappointed with the texture and flavor of the items I got, which were blackberry sticky bun and raspberry scone. If a healthier version of pastries or buns taste this dry and hard to bite, I’d rather buy the regular stuff and PAY LESS. Don’t know why this kind of shop exits in the world. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Rye Goods is a charming bakery with a delightful aroma of freshly baked goods that welcomes you upon arrival. Their wide array of bread and pastries, made with high-quality ingredients, ensures there's something to suit every taste. The Egg Bagel Sammy is particularly recommended for its delicious preparation, especially when paired with a pistachio rose latte. The bakery offers a cozy sitting area perfect for both individuals seeking a quiet spot to work and families in need of more space.
Rye Goods is truly a hidden gem! This modern and stylish coffee shop offers a spacious environment that's perfect for both getting work done or gathering with friends. The atmosphere is inviting and well-suited for anyone needing a productive workspace or just a cozy spot to relax. One unique feature is that Rye Goods shares a dining area with the pizza place next door, which I haven't tried yet, but it's definitely on my list. Another standout is how impeccably clean the restrooms are—a detail that adds to the overall pleasant experience. Rye Goods is a fantastic spot that I highly recommend!

This past weekend, we missed our usual visit to the farmers market to pick up our favorite sourdough bread. Looking for an alternative, we came across a hidden gem—Rye Goods, a charming little bakery not far from the old Marine Corps hangars. The shop may be small in size, but it offers an impressive variety of artisanal breads and baked goods, all at very reasonable prices. From hearty sourdough loaves to sweet pastries and savory treats, there’s something for everyone. Rye Goods also features a spacious and welcoming seating area, making it an ideal place to slow down and enjoy a coffee paired with a fresh pastry. Whether you’re in the mood for a relaxing brunch, a light lunch, or just need to grab something on the go, the shop provides a cozy and convenient atmosphere. The quality of the products and the thoughtful setup of the space make it clear that this bakery is more than just a place to buy bread—it’s a community spot worth returning to. Discovering Rye Goods turned what could have been a disappointing bread-less weekend into a delightful new experience, and it’s definitely a place we’ll be visiting again soon.

I have been here a couple of times. The people are friendly and I really like their service. There is a unique flavor that comes with rye sourdough, which can make many of their pastries and breakfast items a hit or a miss for me. My favorite so far was a donut I had earlier today. Definitely a different twist to a typical donut you would find anywhere else. I like supporting businesses like this one. I would recommend giving them a visit if you haven’t done so yet. Just be prepared, I would have to say that it is quite expensive for breakfast/brunch.

We stopped by for coffee and pastries a couple of days ago. I had previously picked up some bread on my way over to a breakfast invitation and liked it a lot. This time was no different. The coffee was top notch and pastries were wonderful. More importantly I was very impressed by the two ladies who took care of us. They were kind and very helpful, and when there was a mixup with our order they offered to remedy it very generously and made the whole experience a pleasure. Will definitely go back and recommend to anyone who's looking for great coffee, artisan bread and a wonderful atmosphere to work or hang out at.

Moonwood Coffee is our new favorite coffee shop and bakery/catering solution! From the minute you step I to the coffee shop, you know you're in for some heavenly goodness! We ordered a gourmet box of cookies online and picked up other baked items to try as well as coffee to go. I tried the Iced Cedar Cinnamon coffee, which was rich and smooth but not too sweet. The baked items were very fresh and delicious! We had Moonwood Coffee and Bakery bake two cakes and host a cake decorating "class" for our daughter's 13th birthday. Alecia was responsive and easy to work with, and with general direction on what my daughter was looking for, she and her team member Jessica made two beach-themed birthday cakes and put together a decorating experience for her friends with the same theme. Alecia and Jessica arrived to our house early, had all the supplies the kids needed for about one hour of instruction and decorating and each of them took home a delicious and beautiful cake. Alecia taught them how to pipe and had them practice, then walked them step by step through a beach decoration for their cakes. The kids had a lot of fun and enjoyed working with Alecia and Jessica. Separately, we've visited the Moonwood location on Adams and enjoyed the coffee and baked goods. We had a great experience, thanks for making it a special celebration! (Photos of the small single cakes are samples of those made by the kids in the class. The larger cake is Moonwood's professional work. )

Nestled in the heart of Santa Ana, BREAD Artisan Bakery has been a beloved staple since its inception in 2010 by Jonnie LoFranco. This bakery is renowned for its exceptional artisan breads, crafted with passion and expertise by head baker Yannick Guegan, who honed his skills in France. The selection includes an array of delightful options such as sourdough, multi-grain, spelt quinoa with orange, and pistachio raisin walnut bread.
BREAD is among the top bakeries around and their team are the nicest people you can find on Farmers Markets. They use french flour and butter to bake so you have the same quality as in the bakeries in France. I warmly recommend!

As a Frenchman living in the US I’ve been looking for a good baguette and the baguette tradition is simply delicious, authentic and fairly priced! Super happy to have this store nearby. The pain au chocolat is also delicious!

I haven't been to this location but I wanted to share that Trader Joe's note offers their excellent Olive and Thyme Batard. So, if you can't go by the bakery

This is actually a wholesale shop location/bakery/ Warehouse NOT a real coffee shop or a shop for people to come and just buy off the shelf or order but you could pre-order online they say ALL their products are available at Irvine Ranch market and some of their products at all mother's markets. I wish they had a better description of the store online

Amazing crust , amazing crumb ! My go to is the multigrain pan loaf or the always impressive olive and thyme batard. Real artisan bread , hooray !

I rarely write reviews because normally is hard to find top quality food. I met these guys last Saturday at the Laguna Beach Farmer's market. The sourdough bread I bought was perfect. The 2 croissants, 1 chocolate and 1 strawberries were superb. The most real French-like quality I have found so far in OC. TOP BAKERY!

Stale bread and knockoff recipes from the original cuisine. As for the staff they lack communication skills and are friendly. Would not recommend their pastries as they do not stand out at all. Porto’s has 10x better pastries and that’s not even their main focus.

The best bread probably in orange county maybe even so cal. Delicious. Man could definitely live on bread alone from here. They make many types, each with passion and care to make them the finest. Besides being available in the finest restaurants arround you can also get it at some farmers markets and a few specialty shops.

Cinderella Cakes is a renowned bakery that has been featured on various TV shows and specializes in creating custom cakes. Customers have praised the bakery for its delicious Triple-fudge chocolate cake, which can be ordered online or over the phone. The cakes not only look stunning but also taste amazing, making them worth every penny. In addition to custom cakes, the bakery offers a variety of cupcakes that have received high praise for their exceptional flavors.
We were out of town and wanted to make my daughter’s birthday special considering it was her 18th! I came across Cinderella Cakes and I placed a 48 hour cake order over the phone for my girl’s birthday! She’s a chocolate lover and they had the Triple-fudge chocolate cake you can order online or over the phone. Unfortunately I didn’t take a picture of the cake after we cut it, but it was absolutely delicious and my description wouldn’t make it a justice!! It was very chocolatie, but not crazy sweet, it was a very well balanced cake. I also added the #18 chocolate decor to symbolize the birthday! Definitely recommending this place!

My all time favorite bakery in Costa Mesa and Laguna Niguel! I've had 3 amazing custom birthday cakes made and dozens of beautiful cupcakes shaped like a wedding dress for my bridal shower over the last 15 years and they were absolutely delicious!

I picked up six varieties of cupcakes for my sister in laws birthday. All we exceptionally good. I personally loved the lemon flavor, but my husband said his s’mores one was fabulous too! I had bought my daughter’s wedding shower cake here back in 2020. I’ll just say there wasn’t one piece left.it was wonderful. Thank you!

Came in on a last minute decision but totally worth it. The service was great and we were even able to enjoy a small birthday celebration inside. Went as far as giving us water bottles. Overall I would come again.

Went in for a cupcake, was completely ignored by the girl behind the counter even though she saw me standing there looking at her. Finally, someone else came out and so I purchased a cupcake but was disappointed. It was dry and tasted several days old.

Nothing Bundt Cakes is a bakery chain that offers a variety of bundt cakes in different sizes, from bite-sized to tiered. They also sell gifts and party supplies. Since its establishment in 2011, this bakery has gained popularity for its delectable cakes that leave a lasting impression on customers. Many people have expressed their love for the cakes, describing them as beautiful and delicious. The staff at Nothing Bundt Cakes is known for being friendly and accommodating.
My favorite thing about Costa Mesa is that you are in such close proximity to amazing dessert options and Nothing Bundt Cake is one of them. I’m a huge fan of their smaller bundts because there’s nothing quite like gifting a small trio pack to a friend on their special day or bringing a dozen of them to the office to celebrate a small win. The customer service here is always great and I love love love the selection! (33/100—2023)

I've been going to this location for years especially with their BOGO bundlet promotion corporate sends out monthly. Never had a problem, they've always honored it for limited edition flavors. Not tonight. The employee exclaimed its a new policy this specific store has adopted to not allow limited edition flavors for the BOGO promotion. I'm sure corporate has no idea they're doing this either. I could care less about the $7.50 extra I had to pay tonight. It's the deception and principle of the matter. No where on the email does it exclude limited edition flavors. The current chocolate peanut butter flavor is front and center in the promotional email with barcode scan under it. Very disappointed and I hope this store decides to eliminate such 'customized' rules regarding promotions from corporate.

We ordered 4 red velvet mini cakes we only received one and the employee threw in a cookies and cream cake that nobody from our group ordered, once we realized her mistake we went back into the store but refused to serve us anymore, half the people in our group did not get to eat cake.

Thank you Olivia for saving the day! I love my cake - it's so beautiful. Thank you for going the extra mile to make sure it was delivered to my door for my birthday!! I love Nothing Bundt Cakes!!

their cakes are amazing. The 1 star is because the staff. I drove with my son for over 50 minutes to get a cake for his birthday. They’re close at 6 , we arrived 6.02 . The girls on the counter made joke out of me and we stay without cake for his birthday. The difference between 1 to 5 star is just some empathy.
Al D — Google review
They had a limited time only flavor which caught my attention. Churro Dulce De Leche. OMG, it sounds and tastes just as you would imagine. It was definitely worth trying and I wish they would just keep this on their menu. Maybe it's too hard with the filling on the inside but wow, this was amazing and I hope they bring it back.

Ashley is awesome! i needed to make an adjustment on my order for my wife's birthday to accommodate her needs for gluten free cupcakes and even though the order was ready for pickup, Ashley made sure the adjustments would be made at no additional cost. That's worthy of a raise if you ask me!
