Coffee shop
At Sidecar Doughnuts & Coffee, you can savor artisanal, gourmet doughnuts made in small batches to ensure a warm, pillowy soft cake interior and crispy edges every time. The butter and salt doughnut and Huckleberry ring are exclusive favorites that will redefine your love for doughnuts. The intoxicating aroma of fried dough with flavors like Cara Cara orange zest and maple bacon icing will draw you in, guaranteeing that you'll leave with more than just one.
the absolute best donut/coffee spot in all of socal. Sidecar puts LOVE into their coffee & you can absolutely tell the difference. They also make all of their syrups in house! They have a seasonal banana latte that i’m hoping becomes permanent, because it’s literally the best coffee i’ve ever had. Their donuts on the other hand, are just as good as the coffee. The butter & salt will always be #1b- as they use quality ingredients for every item they sell. Additionally, they come out with seasonal flavors which are all to-die-for —like the strawberry glaze, dubai chocolate, and more!!! Definitely stop by to try them out if you’re visiting or if you live nearby :)

A MUST! Found this place via social media influencer, showed up ten minutes after opening, and there was a line out the door. Customer service was brilliant, and the atmosphere was electric. A serious consideration needs to be made for their catering based on their products and customer service. The donuts to buy: hazelnut (no matter what), then the bacon maple, the salt and butter, and the Oreo. Whoever, not a single donut was bad. You can taste the quality of ingredients they use.
Andrew H — Google review
I drove 45 minutes to try Sidecar Donuts, and it turned out to be the biggest disappointment ever. The donuts were bitter, doughy, and completely flavorless.honestly the worst donuts I’ve ever had. They tasted like they were made with old oil or overcooked, which probably explains the bitterness. On top of that, the staff looked unprofessional their aprons were filthy, and no one even smiled or seemed to know what was inside the donuts they were selling. For a place that’s supposed to be premium this was unacceptable. I did get a refund after calling, but that doesn’t make up for the wasted time and effort. I genuinely regret trying their donuts. If you want real flavor and freshness, try JD Flannel Donuts same price or less, and so much better
AnuReviews — Google review
Best donuts in SoCal 💗All the donuts taste great except the cookies & cream. All donuts are made fresh and have the perfect sweetness levels. The coffee portions are pretty small but taste good. Must try!
Nitesh M — Google review
Best donut place in the area! The passion fruit one was so good with the jam filling and the cream on top. Not dry at all! Would definitely come again.
Mika N — Google review
The donuts at Sidecar are on another level! Fluffy, fresh, and perfectly made. The chocolate donut is rich in flavor, and the Saigon cinnamon one is absolutely addictive. It is warm, fragrant, and just the right amount of sweetness. I recently tried the passion fruit - wow! It’s like eating a mini cake. It was sooo delicious! It’s definitely a “fancy donut” place, but you can really taste the quality in every bite. If you’re looking for a treat that feels special (and totally worth the splurge), this is the spot. The staff is always so nice here. There is plenty of parking.
Pham P — Google review
Sidecar never misses. I’m team yeast over cake doughnuts, and their Vanilla Bean Glazed is an absolute must if it’s your first time, so damn tasty. They’ve got rotating daily specials too. Tuesday Twists are my personal favorite, with Friday’s Apple Fritters coming in a close second.
Tony C — Google review
Doughnuts were yummy but coffee needs a bit of work but it’s not bad. Ordered online for pickup and since it was my first time picking up from this place, the instructions were a bit vague. There was a long line when I walked in and didn’t know where to pickup. I saw there was a cart that said “pick up” but you had to ask the cashier to get it for you. I waited a while until the cashier finally gave it to me. Kinda wish there were clearer pickup instructions.

Ice cream shop
Eiswelt Gelato is a charming family-owned ice cream parlor located in Westminster. What sets them apart is their unique approach to serving gelato – they meticulously shape their scoops into adorable animals, complete with marshmallow noses. From teddy bears to monkeys and pigs, these delightful creations are perfect for snapping photos. The gelato itself is made from organic milk and fresh seasonal ingredients, ensuring a premium experience with every flavor.
This ice cream shop is so cute! I love how creative the options are. To order, just pick a character from their menu and pick the # of flavors accordingly to the character. We tried a variety of their ice cream + gelato and were not disappointed at all. Highly recommend coming here for dessert after a meal!

Cute little ice cream place at Bolsa Mini Mall. It’s tucked into a little corner. The girl who served us was really nice. So was the sweet old lady working with her. I got Bear and my friend got panda. Will be coming back to try the Rose another time.
Rochelle U — Google review
Cute and delicious! I love the variety of animal designs and the flavors are such a great variety and they're all good. I tried Pumpkin Spice this time. Using cornflakes for the lion's mane is so clever.
K W — Google review
It's hidden in the corner of a Vietnamese strip mall. Family run, a variety of Gelato flavors, and each is made as an animal of your choice. They have lots to choose from. Prices are reasonable as well.
Dean M — Google review
Delicious but only 4 stars because they don't have the waffles stuff anymore. It's only gelato and ice cream. The taro is bomb!
Robert — Google review
Discovering a delightful gelato spot that feels like a charming mom-and-daughter shop! 😍🍦 Enjoying amazing flavors and incredibly creative ice cream designs. Best part? They don’t break the bank for their fantastic creations! 🙌 Plus, they offer cozy seating options both indoors and outdoors.
Gabriel B — Google review
Really good gelato with fun animal shapes and unique flavors that are true to the original flavors. The gentleman making my rose gelato did an awesome job with the rose! Love this place. Would totally recommend it for families! 💕🐻🐼🐯🐷🌹💕💕
Eunji K — Google review
I LOVE this place. I come in every time I’m in town. A great variety of flavors. Some flavors are more icy, like the jasmine tea, but the taste is still great. The animals are just beyond cute. I am tempted to order one of each, every time. If you want the cutest pictures, you’ll need to pick flavors that correctly fit the animal…like no green tea because the animal will look “sick”. If you don’t care, then choose whatever. The green tea ice cream is great. The Alfonso mango was absolutely creamy and delicious. The taro was good too. You can buy pins with the pics of the animals on them (10/10 recommend), phone case, or a shirt. COVID changes: NO samples, waffles, or drinks.

Cauldron Ice Cream offers a unique experience with its organic, liquid nitrogen-made ice cream served in a modern-industrial setting. The inventive flavors and made-to-order approach make for an exciting dessert destination. Customers can enjoy their handcrafted nitrogen ice cream in warm, waffle-like Puffle Cones, creating a delightful combination that elevates the traditional ice cream experience. Despite occasional crowds, visitors appreciate the delicious and not overly sweet flavors offered at Cauldron Ice Cream.
This is some of the best ice cream I have ever had! This place has a special "puffle", which is like a puffy waffle cone and it is delicious! I highly recommend the smores ice cream on a churro puffle!
PAPI D — Google review
Ice cream was great. We tried the original flavor and waffles. I can’t say anything about it except the wait was too long. There was only one person working. Hopefully that’s not a norm. But I would come back and try a different flavor.
Michael M — Google review
Best Ice Cream in the U.S.? Not With That Matcha. Cauldron Ice Cream proudly declares itself the best ice cream in the U.S.—a statement so audacious, it deserves its own documentary. Walking in, I was greeted by a lovely ambiance, an enticing menu, and genuinely friendly staff. The self-serve kiosk was a nice touch, efficiently removing any human witness to my impending disappointment. Let’s start with the Vietnamese coffee ice cream. It was labeled strong, which I assume was a typo, and they meant shy. If this ice cream were any weaker, it would need emotional support. It had the smoothest texture you could ask for, but flavor-wise, it was about as committed to coffee as I am to a gym membership—meaning, not at all. Then we have the matcha latte with almond milk. To call this a matcha latte is like calling a goldfish a shark—misleading at best, delusional at worst. What I actually received was a beautifully crafted cup of chilled almond milk, with a hint of matcha so subtle, it might have been a hallucination. To be fair, their ice cream texture is silky smooth, like an influencer’s skincare routine. But unfortunately, great texture without great flavor is just a tragedy in a cone. In short, if Cauldron is indeed the best ice cream in the U.S., then we, as a nation, need to sit down and have a long, serious discussion about our standards.
S — Google review
I love the options on cones and ice creams! I'll come back for the drinks! I'd highly recommend this place! It's really clean and great for conversations!
Joel G — Google review
First time tried this liquid nitrogen ice cream. Loved the rose flavor. It’s very smooth n creamy.
Sandeep K — Google review
Who loves blooming rose ice cream? Highlights of the menu: 1. Sun, moon & star with Oreo crumbs 2. S’mores with chocolate chips I love this liquid nitrogen-made ice cream with such a soft and creamy texture. They have many inventive flavors of organic ingredients and cute pastel colors on them. So lovely. The interior is cute with pink wall for the photos. A good place to hang with family and friends.
Vee D — Google review
For some reason I can't upload my pictures of the actual ice cream and puffle cone, but we sampled the pineapple sorbet (reminiscent of Dole Whip) and strawberry. The ice cream was tasty without being overly sweet. I haven't had made to order ice cream since Creamistry, and so it was a fun reminder. I wish they had a few more traditional flavors, but overall it was very tasty. The place gets bombarded in waves, so be prepared for crowds of people inside and out. The puffle cone is a fun idea, but the original flavor is very plain. It's served hot along with the ice cream that melts quite quickly on the bottom.
Lissa N — Google review
Their egg waffles and ice cream combination is definitely one of a kind with the chewy texture from the waffles complementing the creaminess of the ice cream. The combinations in the menu like the their red velvet waffles topped with vanilla ice cream with a drizzzle of caramel and pretzel pieces. Their ice cream is also made fresh with liquid nitrogen and their flavor combinations are definitely worth a try.

WOW WOW WOW!! i LOVED everything about this place! i’m writing this while still in the shop. i googled coffee places to get work done and this came up. i’m so glad i came! i was welcomed immediately when i came in and the owner is super friendly!! i decided to go with the Vietnamese coffee and smookie cookie. the owner i believe told me the coffee was her mom’s recipe and this was my first time trying vietnamese coffee and i loved it! the cookie was delicious as well. everything is very reasonably priced too! though i’m 30 min away, i will defintley be back and recommend to all my friends!! thank you for a wonderful saturday morning🤍🤍🤍
Caitlin S — Google review
Dough & Arrow have the absolute most delicious cookies! They are bigger than my hand, soft and chewy, and come in a huge variety of unique flavors. I’ve tried almost all of them, and there hasn’t been one that I didn’t like. Their lattes are pretty, but for some reason they give me a stomach ache every time. I don’t have any dairy issues, but they are extra thick and creamy. Yesterday I had the cookies and cream latte and it had a thick layer of some cookie foam on top, which when mixed in made the drink super thick. I’ll just stick to the cookies next time. Those make my stomach happy🤣
Lindsey N — Google review
The shop is very cute! There are many photo spots for kids and adults. My server was exceptionally welcoming. She welcomed every customer right when they enter (didn’t see this often with these days restaurant). Drinks and cookies are great! Definitely very sweet but I guess that’s what they’re known for.
Fang P — Google review
The cookies are extremely yummy and really soft. The cookies are big or even bigger than the Costco cookies. It has a lot of sugar and calories. There are lots of flavors and options to choose. The Have displayed all cookies to see and order it. Then they get the fresh cookies from the kitchen. The drinks are not that great. I am not a coffee person, so I can’t completely review it. There are many options available on the board, but most of them are out of stock. They did not have the milk carton style coffee cup too. A good place to try. Do we go again? I think so, but not in the near future.
Joseph S — Google review
My daughter and I went here because we like to try new things. We were a bit disappointed. I got the Vanilla Latte and she got the London Fog Tea. My latte was okay, the coffee was weak and so it made the mik overpowering. Her tea had too much milk in it, and even after waiting 10 minutes, the one tea bag couldn't deliver on the flavor that Earl Grey has to give. The cookies were good, but too sweet. I got the Adult Chocolate Chip and she got the Creme Brulee. While being bakers ourselves probably skewed our opinions, the cookies weren't worth the $5-6 we paid for each. There's plenty of parking, including handicapped accessible spaces, as it's in a small shopping center. The site is clean and neat with some seating options, and would be a fun place to take your kids. They are credit card only, no cash. The staff is very helpful and nice. All in all, it wasn't a bad experience, and I'll probably give them another try.
Hannah R — Google review
Yummy yummy cookie place!! Very rich cookies where your teeth will be hurting but your tongue will be pleased! When you walk in, the decoration is so nice and unique! They have a cookie statue to take pics with as well (and a nicely painted wall). I ordered the Reeses cookie (blanking on the name but it had peanut butter and chocolate meshed together) and it was soooo good!!!
Jessica Y — Google review
ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! I’m a Cookie Monster, my all time favorite bite of food in the world and these were incredible!! I was so impressed. And the prices are fair, staff was friendly, and the cookies were some of the best I’ve ever had!! And, going late at night I thought they’d have the out of most things or they wouldn’t be as good because they’d sit out all day, but no, they were baking them fresh and had everything!
Chloe A — Google review
The size of these cookies is bigger than my hand! I got the creme brûlée cookie and it was fire! Heated it up a bit and it was crispy on top and soft in the middle. I also got the adult chocolate chip and that was a little too sweet for my taste but still good with some black coffee. All in all, some very interesting flavors that I would come try more of if I were nearby

Seabirds Kitchen is a delightful restaurant that started as a food truck in 2010 and has now become one of the best vegan dining spots in Orange County. The restaurant offers an exceptional organic dining experience with its seasonal vegan dishes made from purely organic, plant-based ingredients sourced from local farms.
We thoroughly enjoyed our Sunday lunch here. All our dishes were beautifully presented, homemade culinary experiences. Our daughter and her friends ate here a week ago and also had a fantastic experience. What a treat and we can’t wait to go back again!
Steve N — Google review
We recently dined at this vegan restaurant and tried a variety of dishes, including burgers, pasta, nachos, and enchiladas. The food had great flavor, but we felt that the amount of sauce and texture could have been improved across the dishes. Despite that, the overall experience was enjoyable—the ambiance was great, and the area itself had a really nice vibe. Definitely a spot worth visiting, and we’d consider coming back!
Dev P — Google review
Delicious and 100% vegan. Unique flavors and every single dish was incredible. Definitely recommend and would come back next time we come to California.

The food was amazing! Good Vegan food is not easy to come by, But I was highly impressed w/ Seabirds! I ordered the pesto pasta and the grilled banana bread and they were both super delicious! Highly recommended!!

Food is very tasty. Didn’t expect Vegan will be so tasty. We loved the Adobo Tacos & Bibimbap bowl. Service staff are very friendly as well.
Raju — Google review
Situated in The Lab, an “anti-mall,” Seabirds was a great find on our trip from San Diego to LA. Would definitely recommend for anyone who loves vegan food and wants to try something different and new!
Diego H — Google review
My wife and her friend are both Vegan. I mean, they just eat healthy but sometimes slip up, and try to say they're vegan; but anyway, I'm not vegan, but this food was excellent. I ordered the nachos because I've learned that most of the vegan stuff is just beans anyway. The nachos tasted great, very flavor-town. My wife got the Beets Me Burger and loved it. The service was great as well. We actually came to this restaurant months ago, but the power went out after about 15 minutes there. We still came back to give it a shot. I would highly recommend coming here, even if you aren't vegan. Very great food, very flavor-town, very yum.

The yummiest! My official birthday dinner spot for years now. I love coming here- you can count on quality. Favorites: purple potato taquitos, Jackfruit nachos, korean bibimbap bowl, enchiladas and tomato soup with grilled cheese!!! Skip the burgers, otherwise you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Here's my takeout enchiladas from today (beans on the side)

Breakfast restaurant
Blackmarket Bakery @ The Camp offers a delectable array of in-house made pastries, baked goods, and food that varies with the seasons. From chocolate babkas to berry tarts, their menu is ever-changing. The Costa Mesa location at The Camp provides ample seating for visitors to enjoy their treats while sipping on coffee or working.
The Hidden Gem for Almond Croissants & Cherry Bars If you know, you know. Blackmarket Bakery is one of those spots that, once you discover it, becomes part of your routine. And if you haven’t been yet? Let me put you on. The Almond Croissant That Will Ruin You for All Others This isn’t just any almond croissant—it’s the almond croissant. Consistently flaky, buttery, and packed with that rich, chunky almond filling that feels homemade in the best way. The top is beautifully crisp, the inside is soft and layered, and every bite is perfection. It’s the kind of pastry you think about the next morning and wish you had stocked up on. The Cherry Bar – Underrated But Absolutely Essential This one doesn’t get enough hype, but it should. Their cherry bar is the perfect mix of tart, sweet, and buttery, and the best part? The team here is always so nice—they happily warm it up for you, which takes it to the next level. Warm, gooey, and just the right amount of indulgent. The Move: Pair It With a Flat White from Work in Progress Here’s my routine: grab my almond croissant (or cherry bar, depending on the mood) and then head over to Work in Progress for their flat white. It’s the perfect combo—flaky pastry, smooth espresso, and the kind of breakfast that makes your whole morning better. Don’t Sleep on the Cookies While the almond croissant is the star, their cookies are seriously good too. Soft, chewy, and packed with flavor—whether you go for chocolate chip, peanut butter, or one of their seasonal flavors, you can’t go wrong. Final Thoughts? This Place is a Must. Blackmarket Bakery has that rare mix of incredible pastries, warm service, and a local feel that keeps you coming back. Whether you’re grabbing a quick treat or making it part of your morning ritual, it never disappoints. Tag your coffee & pastry-loving friends—this is one spot worth sharing.

Great bakery with a fun ambiance and a variety of baked goods and more substantial options like sandwiches. I can't speak to the coffee but the matcha was high quality. The breakfast sandwich was great and the upgrade to a crossiont roll was worth it.

Wonderful atmosphere, very great coffeehouse vibes. Remember to try some of the pastries or hot food items! Check out the merch
Karen L — Google review
My parents have been coming here since before I was born so automatically, I’ve grown up coming to this spot. It’s one of my favorites for the food/drinks, atmosphere, and fresh in-house made bread! They have many vegan friendly options such as JustEgg, and dairy free options too. They make a mean lavender oat milk latte and the BEST almond croissant you’ll ever have. The almond croissants taste like they were imported from Paris through an overnight plane. They’re seriously off the charts. They also make some of the best rosemary sourdough bread I’ve ever had. It’s fresh and the rosemary isn’t overpowering, it’s just the right amount. All of their tarts/desserts are certainly worth trying. I stock up on a big box to bring home for Thanksgiving every year. If you’re ever visiting Orange County, this spot is close to the airport and definitely worth visiting for coffee and breakfast/brunch.
Kelly G — Google review
Coffee is trash and the service is worse. Their espresso machine was so caked with old grounds I could see it from the counter and they kept telling me they didn’t know why my 7 dollar espresso tasted like old trash. They also charge 15 plus a plate for breakfast, which I was too afraid to eat after seeing the cleanliness of their front end operation.
Josh H — Google review
What a cute bakery and cafe. My Fresh Prince was amazingly tasty! The red pepper Mayo was also very tasty. The bread, bakery and cookie options were phenomenal! Enormous cookies and the Cinnamon Churro Twists are enormous! My pumpkin chai latte was also delish! A MUST if you’re in the area!!
Maria R — Google review
I was not impressed with the food and drinks as much as I was with the display. The mini camper display was cute. Fresh Prince was not lacking flavor because it tasted like nothing. The hot chocolate was, well, just hot, not exactly most delicious. The real issue for me was the wait... It took over 30 minutes for my food and drinks! Maybe it was understaffed, but to wait so long for food and drinks in the morning was quite frustrating. Overall, just an average.

The butter croissant: 5/5 The Pop-tart: 4/5 I got them warmed and really enjoyed both items! The inside has a unique decor with indoor seating and some outdoor seating. Friendly service and fresh bakery items. I'll definitely be back!

After two years, I finally came back to Afters and it made my whole day 🥹 The worker was SO sweet—greeted me right away, let me try samples (bless her), and then noticed I looked a little torn about my Milk & Cereal pint because I reallyyy wanted the cereal crunch too. She just offered to add some for me 🥺 Like it was no big deal, but it meant a lot. 10/10 service. 12/10 ice cream. Even better than I remember—so tasty and creamy! And yes… I got my crunch hehe.

Their ice cream is delicious the reason why I only put four stars instead of 5 is because if you want a pint of a specific kind and they don't have it they will offer to scoop out a pint for you. But they don't pack it down so realistically you're only getting 1/3 of a pint but paying for a full. 😑

I’m usually a huge fan of Afters, I personally love it and have always had a great experience. Until today. I got a milky bun, not glazed, with Ube Brownie. Something I’ve had plenty of times, but this trip was SO disappointing! There was maybe half a scoop of ice cream in the bun, and the second I picked it up it’s immediately dropped majority of that ice cream into the bag. I had two solid bites that actually had the ice cream, the rest was just soggy bread. Not sure if this is because there was one person working and right after I got there two separate families walked in. Maybe the worker was stressed with the random line that appeared? Either way, I don’t think I’ll go back to that location. This trip made the $7 absolutely atrocious :(

As good as it’s advertised. We stumbled across this advertising years ago and while in the area we had to give it a try and it was amazing. Triple C, Cookie Monster and Salty O’s in a doughnut. All of them were delicious.

This place is great. Honestly when I heard that they make ice cream donut sandwiches, I knew that had to be good. They call them milky buns and they are delicious. They let you choose your ice cream and donuts that you want to make it and then they put it all together. You can just get ice cream if you want but I would highly recommend the milky bun. You won’t regret it.

What a great staff! And the ice cream is really good, with a creative selection of flavors!

Popbar is a lively ice cream spot located in the Anaheim Packing District. It offers a delightful selection of hand-crafted gelato on a stick, available in various flavors. One popular choice is the PopGelato, which features perfectly chilled gelato barsicle on a stick. The pistachio flavor is particularly beloved, especially when drizzled with dark chocolate and coated in chopped pistachios.
Popbar is a GREAT place, even for someone like me who doesn’t usually love popsicles—I absolutely loved it! I got a coconut gelato, half dipped in white chocolate and half in milk chocolate, topped with coconut and hazelnut. It was perfect! My husband had a chocolate gelato dipped in dark chocolate with sprinkles, and he really enjoyed it too. Everyone needs to try this place!

I got a regular dark chocolate vanilla. I was trying to go for something simple, but for the $7 I thought it was overpriced. For the simple flavor I got it did not meet my expectations. I think you should get the more unique flavors if you do decide to grab sweets here! I’ve had friends get the Vietnamese coffee and it was much better. I love the option to customize the toppings. Service was quick and kind. It is indeed a pop up for some nice popsicle bars! The ambiance of the Packing District is wonderful to grab food with friends.

I got this frozen hot chocolate drink, but I didn’t like it much. Was expecting something sweeter, my partner however did like it. She said it reminded her of her favorite Mexican chocolate drink. She couldn’t get enough of it.

Located inside the Anaheim packing house which is decorated very well with a cool and natural ambiance. Staff was very patient as my kids argued to figure out what they wanted. Coconut Gelato 7/10 Pistachio on Pistachio 8/10 Strawberry Gelato with milk chocolate drizzle and ice cream cone 8/10 mango with chocolate drizzle 7/10 They have suggested combination creations and you can also make your own. It’s $0.75 to add chocolate (either full dip, half dip, drizzle) and / or another $0.75 to add topping.

This popbar has wide variety of popsicle flavors. Unlimited toppings for a dollar or so. They do double dip into melted dark, white and milk chocolate if needed and the toppings. Liked it!! Totally recommend it. Friendly staff and clean area.

Never been to a Popbar but for a newbie they have signs that help new customers like myself understand the process. You start by choosing your bar, move to the next station for a dipping style of full, half, none or drizzle. Move on to the toppings and that’s it! You customize your treat to your liking. Add .50 for each add on & it’s limitless. Very welcoming staff. Takes electronic payment.

I can't say enough good things about Popbar - it's the best ice cream I've ever had! The popsicles are made fresh with high-quality ingredients, and the flavor options are endless. I love that you can customize your own pop with various dips and toppings. Highly recommend the Vietnamese coffee and chocolate sprinkles! 🍦🤤 #popbar #besticecreamever #sweettooth

Located inside of the Anaheim Packing district, you have to stop by here for dessert or drinks! I got a bunch of different ice creams to try out and the Ferraro Rocher was my absolute favorite! So good, so crunchy! & the hazelnut gelato was so smooth! Then I finished off by getting a double strawberry Italian sparkling water with Boba which was absolutely refreshing & tasty! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Milk & Honey is a charming café located in the beachside Orange County, offering an airy and rustic ambiance that blurs the boundaries between nature and everyday life. Situated within The CAMP, a green retail campus promoting an active and eco-friendly lifestyle, this intimate café serves up organic coffees, loose leaf teas, shaved ice, frozen yogurt, fruit smoothies, and acai bowls.
Sweet coffee shop with a beautiful outdoor seating space. The iced campfire latte was one of the best lattes I’ve ever had. 😍
M J — Google review
My friend and I visited on a Sunday, greeted the solitary worker behind the counter. We were off to the side, still discussing what we wanted to order, she cuts us off, asking if we were ready. There was no one else in line behind us. While I waited for my coffee order, my friend used the restroom. My friend kindly let the worker know there was no more hand soap in the restroom. The worker replied, “the fact that there is no soap is none of my concern.” I let her know, it is. Especially if you are an employee and you are not washing your hands when returning to work. We ordered the Spanish latte and the Campfire latte. The Spanish takes the cake— customer service and cleanliness was a definite flop.

Everything was great - been here many times. And because of my sweet personality, I have sweet blood and the bugs kept biting me. I was wearing shorts. There's no real indoor only space. Bathroom is ok, trash can fills up fast and maybe don't drink pineapple juice before coming here.

Decor is super cute, as is the seating. Main issue is the server that happened to take our order (granted, it was our first time there and I’m not sure how the other staff are) - she was rude when we were choosing pastries, cut me off with “is that everything” not even a second after I got a part of our order out, just really unfriendly in general. I work in retail and always have, so I really only expect a semi-interested expression and patience at least, but she was pretty sub par overall. Drinks were kinda tasteless honestly, and the muffin was like a cold brick in the middle and really crumbly. Flavour was good though. Overall, maybe it was just an off day, but you could do better for cafe choices probably.
Alms A — Google review
The drinks are very bare minimum. I tried ordering a sugar free drink, like most places that love to feed everyone sugar, they only offer sugar free vanilla but even this option was out of stock. I ordered an iced tea that took about 15 minutes to make somehow; no other orders ahead of mine. The barista was also not interested in doing more than bare minimum, typical young kid working for a paycheck and not taught proper communication. “Hi what can I get you?” Not that hard. The space itself is so sad because it’s cute but the smell of vomit and urine from the alley next to the shop wafts into the patio and shop the entire time. I tried to use the restroom and after opening the door, absolutely refused to step foot into that disease infested dungeon. There were empty boxes stacked on the counter and floor around the toilet and the toilet itself was filthy. Makes one wonder if the urine smell comes from there too. Truly unappetizing to know this is the restroom your barista is using while at work and supposedly washing their hands in before serving you. Any coffee shop with reviews that have to make mention of a filthy bathroom or use the word “urine” to describe anything about it, is not a place you want to visit. You’ll have much better luck battling it out at the coffee shops across the street at the lab or literally anywhere else. Another disappointing coffee shop with owners just “running a business” to try to make money rather than provide good products, space for enjoying it, and good service. Truly refuse to pay for unnecessary services I can provide myself at home for cheaper, higher quality, and less frustration when every business and employee no longer cares to do anything genuine any more; all about money. I hope this place closes and allows for a new tenant to take the space. Hopefully a coffee shop that is actually interested in running a coffee shop and not just making a quick buck.

So lucky to have milk and honey just a few steps away from work. Im addicted to their blended lavender cooler with oat milk. The shop is so cute & everyone that works there is super sweet. My bosses favorite is their avocado toast and their teas are delicious too! Highly suggest stopping in for some great coffee if you're ever visiting Main St Huntington Beach!

I thought I would try this place out again as my friends don’t really go there anymore. We use to love it. Lady customer service extremely rude. I explained I would like a warm milk cafe latte, so she said Iced. I said not iced like Hot but not burning hot as it should be in Italy and the rest of the world. Won’t be returning even though the coffee ended up being spot on. She didn’t even thank me as I left, giving me a bad look.

Hole in the wall coffee shop right by the Hilton hotel. They were out of almond milk and didn’t have any other alternatives other than whole milk and nonfat milk. The cashier was nice and refunded me the money after she realized they didn’t have almond milk. My husband got the Spanish latte and it was good. I had to go to another coffee shop but other than that, it’s super cute place with the green wall.

The staff was friendly 😀! Since I came down to visit Cali, my cousin was driving around and I noticed the "monster" sign! I wanted to stop there and see what kind of place it was! I decided I wanted a Jasmine Milk Tea. It's very tasty when there isn't a lot of boba places where I live in Texas!

Visiting from tampa, definitely a touristy experience. Cotton candy with my tea drink was fun. The cotton candy was gone before the tea was, of corse. Macarons come with a scoop of icecream, but asked for it separately, so I could eat the macarons later. Total Sugar high, but absolutly worth the experience.

It's decent, but a novelty. Ironically the snow machine was broken when I went. The milk tea options are limited, but they have a good strawberry lemonade with boba.

Fill Bakeshop, located in Costa Mesa and founded by James Mullis, offers a unique Hawaiian-inspired dessert experience. The bakeshop is known for its organic and GMO-free malasadas with sugary coatings that pair perfectly with their selection of Hawaiian-inspired ice creams.
My first experience eating Mochi doughnuts and soft-baked mochi cookies was at Fill Bakeshop in Costa Mesa. I would have to say, not only are they beautifully decorated but the taste was an amazing delight 🤤. From the Mango sticky rice doughnut to the Strawberries & cream Mochi cookie. They also have crunch cake, iced coffee, milks, and iced juices.
L V — Google review
Mochi + Donut = chewy texture with a warm sweet aroma. Fill bakeshop is worth a visit to pick up a dozen mochi donuts or mochi cookies they serve. The donuts are pretty to look at and can fulfill your sweet tooth as the donuts a fairly sweet. The peach lemonade they serve was a bit too sweet as well. The mochi cookies were worth a try as the Ube cookie I ordered wasn't too sweet and the texture had a nice crisp bite with a soft gooey chew in the center. You'll want milk when visiting this shop so balance out the sweetness of the desserts.
Ron D — Google review
I wanted to believe the hype so I went to the best mochi donut spot in town so that I'd know what else I could compare other places to. Fill Bakeshop is located in Newport and does have its own parking lot. It's a bit confusing when you use your GPS so don't give up! I went here on a rather slow Wednesday afternoon. Thankfully because there was only one other person there, I didn't have to wait too long to order. There are a few items to offer, with the mochi donuts and their specialty ice cream being the most popular. The donuts are also made fresh daily and flavors will run out as the day goes along. Each donut is $2.60 and don't let the menu fool you... you're not actually saving money if you order more. My favorite donuts were the matcha white chocolate and the guava cheesecake. Out of everything to offer, the guava has the most distinct and delicious taste! I felt that the jasmine tea donut was very bland so if you want a basic donut but you're too scared of the flavors, that would probably be best. Strawberry shortcake and black sesame were also delicious. The only reason why I docked a star is because the service here is fairly slow. Even with just the one person in front of me, it took about 15 min for me to order the donuts and leave the store. Imagine how much worse it would've been when it's busy! Other than that, definitely coming back here. I loved the experience and can't wait to see what else they have to offer.

These are my favorite mochi donuts! I live all the way in Oceanside and will drive up here just for a box, I’ve had other mochi donuts from closer establishments but they’re just not as good. They always have such fun flavors, my favorite is Taro. It’s an easy place to spot, though it is small, but with COVID doesn’t really matter right now. They do cost much more than your typical box of donuts, but they’re worth it for a treat.

Who loves mochi donut for a new day? Highlights of the menu: Mochi Donuts: 1. Rose all day 2. Cookies & cream 3. Matcha 4. Guava cheesecake Mochi Cookies: 5. Sea salt chocolate chips 6. Ube snickerdoodle 7. Red velvet red Mochi donuts are the best! This is my new addiction next to boba now. The chewiness and the crunchiness combined with all the good flavors make this desserts so good. The cookies are also mochi cookies because they are chewy like the donuts too. Yummyy!!
Vee D — Google review
I love mochi doughnuts and have been traveling to different cities to try them out from different establishments. Fill is definitely the furthest I've gone so far and let me tell you, I would make that 50+ minute drive again! There were a couple of hiccoughs with my order. For example, I ordered an hour ahead and already got there about 15 minutes after the text saying it was ready, only to be told that it was going to be another 15-20 minute wait time because the glaze for the Brown Butter Sea Salt wasn't ready. There were several other issues I already spoke to management about and they were extremely responsive. Everything was handled with solid customer service, genuine apologies and some free doughnuts. The cost is higher than regular doughnuts because, well, they're way better than traditional doughnuts, let's be honest. But Fill's pricing is on par with most other mocha doughnut shops, so I would consider the cost fair for what you are getting. My friends and I had bought three dozen doughnuts, so several of every flavor they had that day. Everyone who tried one was ecstatic about them. The flavors and texture were spot on. I love the creativity in the glazes and they were the most beautiful mochi doughnuts I've seen so far. I'm very impressed and highly recommend this shop. I would make the drive again out to the OC because they are worth it.

I’ve been craving mochi donuts ever since coming back from Hawaii. They don’t taste quite the same as MoDo, but they’re a close second. The guava cheesecake was definitely the most unique of the ones I got that day and my favorite. The other 5 flavors that day were good but not very unique.

Confetti Italian Ice & Custard in Costa Mesa is a popular spot with lines that move quickly. They offer a variety of options, including the small 2 scoop parfait with choices like Thai Tea w/ Cookie and Chocolate Custard. The outdoor seating provides shade, while inside is air-conditioned. The owners are attentive to crafting each order perfectly, ensuring top-tier customer service.
Confetti Ice Cream in Costa Mesa was absolutely amazing. They have a huge variety of options to choose from, and you can mix and match flavors in the best way possible. We were first greeted by one of the owners, Lin, who was super kind and patient while we tried a good amount of flavors. Honestly, there were too many to choose from because everything tasted phenomenal. The Snickerdoodle was incredible, and the Sour Belt flavor was spot on with the candy but in ice cream and custard form. The custard itself was so soft and thick at the same time, with a smoothness that perfectly balanced the Italian ice flavors. The whole experience was shocking in the best way possible. I ended up getting the Blue Cooler, which had coconut, blue raspberry, and custard, and I was blown away by the flavor. The coconut and blue raspberry were so bold, and they paired perfectly with the custard. I honestly cannot believe I had not tried this place sooner and really wish I did. After we finished, we got to talk with the owners, Fara and Lin, and they were so sweet, kind, and patient. You can tell they have put so much hard work and dedication into this place, running it for almost 11 years. This is hands down one of the absolute best ice cream spots, and I appreciate them so much. This place is now my number-one recommendation for anyone looking for amazing ice cream and a great experience. Thank you, Fara and Lin!

Confetti Ice is a fantastic spot for anyone who loves gelato and variety! They offer so many flavors to choose from, and every single one tastes fresh and delicious. The atmosphere is welcoming and enjoyable, making it a great place to relax. What really stands out is how well they take care of their customers—you can feel the attention to detail and care in every interaction. Another thoughtful touch is that with takeout orders, they provide a free pack of ice so your gelato doesn’t melt on the way home. With so many options and such great service, Confetti Ice has definitely become one of my favorite places. Highly recommended!

have only tried this place a few times and i'm already in love. tried this place on a whim and wasn't sure what to expect. note that the line might be long at specific times on warm days, but otherwise, the line's not too bad. blueberry muffin was the flavor that really caught my heart - but the cookie dough/chocolate chip and espresso are lovely as well. ice cream is super creamy and the flavors really taste like they're made in-house. i haven't even gotten a chance to try their custard or italian ice, but i'd love to go back and try those! i'm a little picky when it comes to going out for ice cream, but i super recommend this place - easily one of my new favorite ice cream spots !!

Absolutely amazing. This was by far the best custard I have ever tried in my entire life. I had a swirl of vanilla and cookie butter custard and the combination was beautiful and delicious. I would highly recommend anyone interested in trying this shop to DO IT! Try the cookie butter if it is still there bc I’ve never had better cookie butter custard ever. Lovely experience. Delicious custard. Friendly staff. Exceptional atmosphere. 10 out of 10 overall.

Such a great place for a sweet treat~ I came by at night without really knowing what it was (I was actually just getting boba next door), and I’m so glad I checked it out. The place was booming! Line wrapped around the store, packed with people, and still had more coming in. Even with all that, the staff didn’t rush anyone. They were incredibly friendly, taking time with each and every customer to explain the menu, recommend flavors, and give out samples. Good samples, too. No hesitation at all. You could tell they genuinely wanted you to enjoy what you were getting. With the workers’ help, I ended up getting the pineapple Dole Whip with the vanilla custard, and it totally hit the spot. The pineapple was sweet but had a nice tartness that balanced the vanilla custard's smoothness and richness. I liked switching between the two hehe. The energy was fun, the workers were sweet, and the dessert? Amazing. I can totally see why it gets so busy. 10/10 will be back!

Cream Pan is a Japanese-French bakery in Tustin that offers a delightful fusion of French and Japanese baking techniques. The owner, Yoshinori Inada, brings his extensive experience to create an array of decadent treats such as the famous Strawberry Croissant and the signature Cream Pan bun filled with rich custard.
I have been coming here for many years. The Boston donut is incredible! Lots of things are. The Apple croissant is surprisingly amazing. They are known for their strawberry cream croissant. Prices are also super reasonable and so the line in the mornings even years later is often out the door, though it moves fast. Sometimes I can just breeze right in and out. Although I give the place an overall close to 5, I must disclose the butter croissant (pictured) is not a 5. The flavor is actually quite good and better than most, even ones I rate higher. But the sound and crunch are not there, so I can only give it a 3.5, sadly. It is consistent throughout the day somehow, whether 8am or 1:30pm (both pictured), so it has that going for it, but I grade tough so I think most people will be happy.

Celebrated an early Mother’s Day with the fam, so guess what I’m bringing?! Strawberry croissants! Parking: There’s a large parking lot, but it’s always busy here, so finding a spot can be somewhat difficult. Ambiance/Environment: They’re always poppin, and yes there’ll be a line. There’s signs everywhere asking for the door to remain closed if there’s a line. Make sure you’re not one of those people that can’t read and leave the door open. It’s pretty small inside. No indoor seating. They do have a small outdoor seating area. Service: Throughput was surprisingly quick for how long the line was. Shout out to the hard working women there. They’re quick & efficient. They do have a heavy accent, and it could be difficult to understand them. Pastries & coffee: We ordered the strawberry croissants, caramel mocha latte, and white chocolate mocha latte. The strawberry croissants are the reasons why we always come back. Love how airy and perfectly crisp their croissants are. The filling isn’t too sweet, and the strawberries are fresh. The lattes were okay .. I saw that they actually make their espressos by hand. The caramel mocha was sweet, of course. The white chocolate mocha was decent. Both could use a stronger coffee taste bc it was pretty light. Pricing: The croissants are expensive, but definitely worth it for any occasion. Will be back to try their other pastries and coffee!

A Must-Visit Bakery Gem — Consistent, Fresh & Always Delicious! After my morning run today, I decided to stop by Cream Pan, one of my all-time favorite bakeries. I’ve been here several times, and I can confidently say I’ve never had a bad experience. The moment you walk in, you’re greeted with the most amazing aroma of freshly baked bread and pastries. The staff is always warm and friendly, and the display cases are filled with everything from sushi rolls and sandwiches to pastries, cakes, and desserts it’s impossible not to find something tempting. I first discovered Cream Pan thanks to my brother when we were in California for my wedding. He stopped by to grab some snacks, and that’s where my love for this place began. We picked up the crispy chicken sandwich, the turkey avocado sandwich, the strawberry and cream sandwich, and of course, the famous olive bread with dipping olive oil and wow, that olive bread is what won me over! Everything was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly made. Since then, I’ve been back several times, and the consistency has been impressive. My favorite item is definitely the turkey avocado sandwich, followed closely by the crispy chicken sandwich. There was one time my olive bread came out slightly burnt, but every visit after that has been perfect they really do pay attention to quality. Today marked my fourth visit, though I arrived a bit late in the afternoon, so many items were already sold out (a good sign of how popular this place is!). They were out of the turkey avocado sandwich, but one of the sweetest employees recommended their egg sandwich, saying it’s a customer favorite. I also decided to finally try their famous strawberry croissant with custard. Both were incredible. The egg sandwich was light, creamy, and super fresh one side had tomato, the other cucumber, giving it the perfect balance of texture and flavor. The strawberry croissant was pure heaven flaky pastry, smooth custard that wasn’t overly sweet, and fresh strawberries dusted with powdered sugar on top. Everything about it was perfect. My mom also loves Cream Pan every time I fly back home to Miami, she makes sure I bring her the olive bread. It’s become our little family tradition now. Overall, Cream Pan is a solid 10/10. The food is consistently delicious, the staff is kind, and the atmosphere is cozy and inviting. It’s one of those rare bakeries that truly lives up to its reputation. Can’t wait to come back and try more from their menu!

Cream Pan Bakery in Tustin offers an impressive selection of fresh bakery items and light meals. Their menu includes a range of sandwiches such as katsu, along with sushi rolls and other Japanese-inspired dishes. Service is consistently quick, prices are reasonable, and the outdoor patio adds to the relaxed atmosphere. Ample parking makes it convenient, though weekend lines can be quite long — a testament to their popularity.

Mediocrity in dessert form: Strawberry croissant: - fruit: no different from what you’d get at Walmart, not sweet, not very fragrant - cream: liquidity, not much happening besides “vanilla” - pastry: same quality as you’d get by buying frozen buff pastry and rolling them before baking Cake roll: - still frozen - yet still somehow still freaking dry (honestly impressive) Pudding: - best of the bunch, vanilla flavor was artificial, too much egg flavor (not the creaminess of yolk, the unpleasant flavor of egg white) Service: bunch of people who couldn’t be bothered, which, let’s be honest given the shitty interior and what they’re probably paid? Fair. All of you praising this place to high heaven, so envious you can be so happy with such low effort products 👌

Delicious pastry with very reasonable price. Lots of other options such as sandos and sushi. This is a hidden gem. My favorite is the raisin toast.

I’ve been coming to Cream Pan for years. The ambiance has always been the same, simple, easy, and welcoming, with lots of fresh food to choose from. It’s been one of the reasons I’ve continued to support them, a reliable go-to spot with consistently good offerings. But today’s experience left me really disappointed. I had purchased some food and a hot large latte, but with errands and a lot on my mind, I accidentally left the drink behind. I called the store shortly after to apologize and let them know I’d be back to pick it up later, or if it was okay for one of my staff members to do so. The first person who answered the phone was extremely rude and dismissive. She gave me clear attitude, made me feel like I was bothering her, and without a word, threw the call to someone else. Thankfully, the second person was kind, professional, and helped me resolve the situation, but the treatment I received initially was uncalled for. The staff was trying to protect one another because when I asked the second girl twice, who that first girl's name was, she wouldn't answer my question. I wasn’t demanding, I wasn’t rude. I even apologized for the inconvenience. I just don’t understand why I was met with that kind of energy, especially when I was just trying to communicate and find a simple solution. I really do love Cream Pan as a brand. But the customer service experience matters just as much as the food. It’s the experience that makes people want to return, and if it starts to feel disrespectful or dismissive, it’s hard to want to keep coming back. I’m disappointed, especially because I care about supporting small businesses. But if staff aren’t trained to treat customers with basic courtesy, it’s going to cost them in the long run.

Breakfast restaurant
Moulin is a Parisian-style cafe that offers a true taste of France in California. With its glass counter displaying fresh pastries and classic plats du jour on the menu, the cafe exudes an authentic French ambiance. The founder, Laurent Vrignaud, created Moulin out of his love for the bistro culture he missed from his hometown in Montmartre, Paris.
I’m French and to be honest since I moved to Cali it’s been hard to find a legit French place. I mean an authentic tasting, no extra froufrou. Just legit great French authentic cuisine. Moulin is the first place to deliver on that note! And “cerise sur le gâteau” (yup, cherry on the cake) … several French people or French people actually worked there! The only difference with back home? I actually had great service 👀😅

This place is incredible! The pastries were so beautiful you almost didn’t want to eat them, almost! They tasted as amazing as they looked. My favorite by far was the lemon tart! Location and parking were easy, but do expect long lines.

This restaurant has the feel of a casual French bistro. The interior walls are decorated with a charming French-inspired design, while the patio—with its tables placed in an unstructured way—adds a touch of European character. Having lived in Italy and visited France several times, I find that this place brings back a little of that atmosphere, which is why I enjoy coming here from time to time. Most of the dishes are quite good, and I would especially recommend the desserts.

I was close by and decided to stop because of heavy rain. I am so glad I came here. Everything about my experience was amazing. The server let me pick where I wanted to sit. Service was quick and the food was delicious. I got the pork chops with apples, potatoes and green beans. So delicious and perfect for this weather. A cafe au lait rounded off the experience.

This is the best French café in OC, maybe even SoCal. Been coming here since the days when it was Pascal, the new management had definitely brought it up a notch or two. Their panini is out of this world, and it's not a complete visit without getting the pastries, from Kouign Amann, Baba au rhum, pear tart, croissant, macaron to finishing with cafe au lait. They also have this wonderful shop with French cookies to wine. While you're there, take advantage of the outdoor patio seating. It's not the most ideal being next to a busy parking lot, especially during the lunch rush hours.

Kid friendly. Good food all around. I was gonna grab yesterday’s day old pastries. But someone grabbed them before I could circle back and get it. Really enjoyed the Piedmontese potato salad, oxtail, and sausage. Yoghurt and eggs delicious too

Proper French bakery, which is tough to find in the U.S., but you’ll certainly pay a pretty penny for the experience. Has the vibes, the sounds, and the smells. Pastries and espresso drinks are top notch with a bit of the pretentious French attitude from the women working the cases to match!

Excellent! We had gone to two other French Bakeries on our OC excursion trip and then two other Moulin’s and they were closed. We found this Moulin in Newport Beach and they did not disappoint! This was by far the best French bakery than the others we have tried. We would definitely return.

Dad's Donut & Bakery Shop is a classic establishment known for its frozen bananas, ice cream bars, donuts, cookies, and sandwiches. There is a friendly rivalry with a neighboring sweet shop over the origin of famous cold desserts. Visitors are encouraged to enjoy a chocolate-dipped banana at Dad's before heading to the nearby Sugar n Spice for their Bars.
10/10 don’t leave Balboa without having a frozen banana. Not only did this specific shop have frozen bananas they also had ice cream and delicious donuts!!! Everything we had was so good. I would definitely come back again.

Anytime I visit Southern California, I always take time out to go here. The staff were friendly and the chocolate banana is amazing, and so is the hippo cookie. The merch is a good price, I would recommend this dessert/bakery shop to my friends and anyone who hasn't been there yet. Mouse pads are $7 and a coaster is $5.

Donuts, cookies, ice cream oh my! We visit Balboa a few times a year and it is tradition that we get Balboa Bars and donuts every single time we’re here. They never disappoint! No matter the line, long or short… they move so quickly and efficiently. And yes… we favor Dad’s because of the service and they are THEE SUPERIOR BALBOA BAR!

First time here. Ordered plain cake and sugar raised. Neither particularly good or bad, just average. I got there first thing in the morning 6:30am, thinking will get first batch, however they had 4 of this, 5 of that thinking, these can’t be fresh since they just opened so possibly day old donuts. They looked and tasted like it. Asked if fresh, and of course was told, “yes, we made them last night.” LOL! Oh man, that’s the perfect answer from a couple who probably don’t eat junk food like donuts. Not worth the $2.50 each as I can get the same flavored donuts at Vons for $0.89.

This is such a fun place to grab a treat with friends. I got the cinnamon dipped banana, and it was okay. If I were to go back I would get chocolate, or add on some more toppings. My friend got icecream and she thought it was super good. Grab a treat and walk the shops

Located in Cannery Village, Newport Beach, The Dock is a waterfront eatery offering a relaxed and modern dining experience. With an alfresco patio boasting picturesque views, the restaurant takes pride in its continental menu and extensive wine selection featuring European and domestic wines. Emphasizing the use of fresh ingredients and seasonal produce, The Dock presents creatively plated dishes with well-balanced flavors. The restaurant's signature dishes include Ahi Sashimi with Yuzu and Red Wine Poached Pears.
The Spanish Crispy Octopus was the BEST octopus I've ever had! The sauce with the octopus was so delicious and flavorful! We stumbled upon The Dock while visiting Newport and the restaurant is such a gem. The service was amazing, everyone was so friendly & kind. Our server Frankie was great, along with the rest of the team. I will be visiting Newport again just to come back to the dock! I can not wait to try the Duck, Fish Of The Day, & Lamb! Thank You!

The Dock in Newport Beach is the kind of place that quietly stuns you—from the floating dock and golden-hour views to the food, drinks, and warm hospitality that makes you want to linger just a little longer. We had the dreamiest sunset dinner, and Tiffany And made the whole night even better with her kind, attentive service and incredible recommendations. She even coordinated with the chef to customize my order exactly the way I wanted it—so rare to feel that genuinely cared for. And let’s talk cocktails. Asa, the mixologist, is a total artist behind the bar. Not only did he mix me a perfect Last Word with green Chartreuse, but he used Monkey 47 gin without me even asking. That’s the level of detail and pride this team brings. Food was just as impressive. The little gem salad with jalapeño was fresh and punchy. I ordered the Ora King salmon well done (still perfectly moist), and the halibut with lemon sauce on the side was light and buttery. But the real surprise? The bread pudding. I don’t even like bread pudding… and I devoured it. Warm, golden edges, melty center, topped with ice cream—it’s a must. Between the views, the vibe, and a team that truly cares—The Dock is now one of my favorite spots in Newport. Already planning my return.

My wife and I have had the dock on our list of restaurants we wanted to visit for years and we finally made it in this weekend and it was better than we imagined. Venue - from the outside it’s super low key but once you’re in you see a beautiful entry into a large yet intimate sitting area with beautiful views of the bay. We sat in the left corner in a very comfortable spot and although I did want to sit closer to the water with a view within 10 min fell in love with our spot. Super cozy and private and not too chilly as the night progressed. Service - multiple staff made sure we had a great experience. Our waiter, Eric and his partner, Aldo were awesome. Both very attentive and passionate about what they did and how they wanted to help. Full of life, big smiles, and on top of it. Eric had the food memorized inside and out and described everything with such enthusiasm that we wanted to order everything. Aldo was the perfect add on to ensure our dining experience was flawless with new silverware, plates, and additional advice. Food - 10/10 so bomb. Everything we ate was incredible. We had the gem salad, Maryland crab beignet, I got the off menu halibut with risotto and my wife got the king salmon that was literally melt in your mouth fatty salmony goodness….lets just say we left very satisfied. Hats off to the chef! We washed it all down with a nice glass of Pinot and a classic dirty martini! (PS, Eric owes me a blue cheese olive 😂😉) All in all we will be back. No doubt! I loved how low key and easy it was, parking was simple and we had a great time. Fair prices compared to quality. Top notch. Thank you to all who took care of us!

There are only 14 tables, but the staff were wonderful. The prices demand it but you will get attentive service. And the ambience is spectacular. You get to sit by a dock with water right next to you. It is a very romantic place. They don’t have any loud music which is great. Their wine list is extensive. And with the corkage being $75 may as well try their wines. The cuisine is French, which I love. The scallops were perfect. I did not like the gravy as much as it tasted overly sweet. The pork loin was only OK because it could be more tender and it was a little dry. The brioche bread pudding is good though I make it better. I loved the mushroom soup.

Every detail of our dinner was 10/10. The staff was extremely attentive to filling our drinks, bussing our table and just making our experience memorable. We had an amazing peach burrata and pesto salad and then scallops over risotto for the main course. Exceptional food and really enjoyed the outdoor patio on the bay. Can’t wait to go back for another date night!

Brodard Restaurant offers modern Vietnamese cuisine with Asian-fusion twists and specialty cocktails in a stylish setting. The restaurant is renowned for its assembly line dedicated to crafting spring rolls, particularly the rice paper-wrapped perfection of a Brodard spring roll. These handheld delights feature succulent shrimp, charred beef, or tofu along with daikon, cucumber, mint, carrot, shallot, salty peanut and vermicelli.
When we arrived, the waiting line was pretty long, but when we went to check in, the hostess asked if we were interested in sitting at the bar. We said yes, and they seated us right away. It was our first time there, and the server took the time to recommend some options and gave us excellent service. The food was absolutely delicious—highly recommend, 10/10! I definitely have to go back soon. Edit: Sorry I did not take more pics before eating

The grilled rolls were good, but unfortunately, the rest of the dishes were a letdown. Not only were they overpriced, but the flavors were off—especially the egg noodle and fried egg noodle, which tasted strange. The meat didn’t seem fresh, and the beef in the garlic noodle dish was so tough and chewy, it felt more like chewy rubber than beef. Definitely not a place I’d return to.

Shaken Beef with Garlic Noodle: $26 Great overall dish, beef perfectly cook (soft, med rare), great garlic sauce but the noodle slightly overcook Grill Pork Spring Roll: $11 for 4 Great as usual Beef Stew with Baguette Super tender beef (not fell apart) great sauce and the baguette crispy on the outside and fluffy inside. Great combo, wish they provide more than 2 med size baguette Luna Rice with Shrimp (appetizer) It’s ok, not a fan of the overall texture (mung bean shell).

My favorite quintessential Vietnamese restaurant! It has everything you can want- such a huge variety. My favorites are the clay pot seafood, nem nuong (of course!) and garlic noodle with shrimp. I've also had their hu tieu Kho (dry noodle), porridge, jerky papaya salad, etc. They have desserts, drinks, appetizers, etc. I haven't ever ordered anything I didn't like. Service is always quick and friendly. It's also always crowded- it's a plus that you can put your name down on the waitlist. They're known for their pork rolls. The icing on the cake is the sauce- it's magical. Best sauce ever. You can order to go for a quick fix! I honestly can never get tired of this place. Price is a bit high for some items but overall good value- hearty portions!
Quynh D — Google review
We heard all a lot about this place and wanted to try it. It is a very busy place and it is a very large restaurant! The place was clean and full of both Vietnamese and non Vietnamese. They had a large menu with different type of dish. However this is definitely not authentic Vietnamese food but catered more toward fusion food. Two things I didn’t like about this place. They were so busy that the service wasn’t great. It took along time before the waiter took our drink and food orders. The food don’t come out all at once as they bought each dish separately. There not everyone was able to eat at once. They are very expensive with little portions. I would rank them very low in the value department. Overall, I don’t think I would be back as I like authentic Vietnamese food as it is not for me. I categorize them as overpriced Chinese food. However it may be better suited for others.
John P — Google review
Food is pretty legit and pretty consistent. They open early so it's great to come and grab some breakfast here before it gets super busy. We pretty much love everything, especially the nem nuong rolls, the Brodard Deluxe Broken Rice with pork chop, lotus stem salad, and more.

If you’re looking for a Vietnamese restaurant, this is the place. I ordered Nem Nướng (grilled pork spring rolls), Bún Bò Huế (noodle dish), and Bánh Khọt (savory crepes). The Nem Nướng is a must, likely the best version around, especially with its signature sweet-savory dipping sauce. All dishes were delicious and stayed true to authentic Vietnamese flavors. The restaurant itself is quite large and spacious but it does get busy. Overall, a solid experience, definitely worth the visit

We came for the afternoon tea on a Saturday. The tea selection was unique with a good variety of black and white teas, they also have a great drink menu with cocktails, wines and a good selection of champagne. Service here is impeccable, our server was absolutely amazing, with great suggestions and perfect timing. Absolutely loved the tiered presentation, not only was our tea service beautiful, it was absolutely delicious. Garnished with the most adorable edible flowers, truly a tea service fit for a queen 🙏

While the dishes in the set menu lacked overall harmony (reminiscent of the cacophony of going to a buffet and taking whatever strikes your fancy), the execution of each individual celebration of fresh Californian ingredients was outstanding. Tastes were layered, the freshness of the vegetables was palpable and the presentation was aesthetic. Surprisingly the chewy wagyu was the only weak point. Service was responsive but the mumbled explanations of the food was sometimes simplistic and didn't do the craftsmanship justice.

Brian guided through an extremely pleasant culinary journey. The menu’s theme was “Si Chef”, and the chef took us through a series of traditional Mexican dishes with flare and creative accents. The pozole was better than any pozole I’ve ever had in Texas. I can’t wait to go back and try the French inspired menu.

Beautiful restaurant. I cant wait to go back. My date and I did the lunch tasting menu. I highly recommend it. I agree with descriptions I have read, their concept is an approachable french cuisine. You dont have to be a big foodie to enjoy it but incase you are, you'll definitely be able to appreciate the art and culinary technique. I didnt take too many pictures but here is what I did grab a snap of :) hope youre able to enjoy yourself sometime.

Knife Pleat is housed on the Penthouse floor of South Coast Plaza. Elegant, intimate, and surprisingly more casual than expected, this restaurant is easily one of my favorites. I would expect nothing less coming from a Michelin starred restaurant, and it doesn't disappoint. The service is impeccable and the food is extraordinary. The menu changes regularly, but the plating and quality is a constant. If I could visit monthly I would be happy. This is a costly restaurant that increases in price on the weekends. Reservations are highly recommended due to the small size of the restaurant. Expect to pay a deposit when making a reservation.

A truly wonderful dinner and wine pairing. The American Wagyu really stood out, as did the dessert wine from the wine pairing. A notably pleasant surprise was the vegan risotto with its wine pairing, both which I don’t think I would have enjoyed individually, but really enhanced each other well. There was not a bad dish in the 4-course dinner, with the exception of the duck breast, which had to contend with the American Wagyu which I tasted prior to it.

The Loop is a bustling and modern sweet shop that offers a unique twist on traditional churros. These looped treats come in massive sizes with imaginative dips, glazes, and toppings, providing endless options and flavors. One of the most decadent options is the Glazed Sprinkle Berry Loop, featuring a strawberry-glazed churro covered in colorful sprinkles. Located in Today Plaza off Pagoda near Bolsa Ave, The Loop offers fast and friendly service.
If you like Churros you will love this place! Great Churros, a good variety of flavors to add, and soft serve with it? Yes, please! The drinks were also amazing, visually and taste wise. Friendly service as well makes this a place to come back to!
Kevin S — Google review
Churros are one of my favorite desserts to exist. I was quite excited to try this place when we visited California and unfortunately, I was very underwhelmed. I’m not really a fan of soft serve, so I ordered the churro alone. It was very dry and a little too crispy. I wish they had an option of a filled churro if you choose to get one without ice cream. I assume that the churro would taste a little better with ice cream to soften out the hard shell. It is also quite expensive for a churro. I ordered regular cinnamon and sugar with a Nutella dip and it was so hard it was difficult to even dip it into the Nutella. The space itself was clean and well kept and the presentation is nice. They also discontinued the Thai tea drink which I was excited to try :( Overall, very average churro on its own, I would definitely try it with soft serve.
Manar D — Google review
Interesting experience. I liked the churro without any sweet stuff on it. The ice cream and the stuff thats put on the ice cream were sweet enough. The churro was crunchy and fresh on the outside, yet nice, warm and chewy on the inside. The flour this place uses is lighter than other churro places. I had the Oreo cookies and cream combo. The soft serve ice cream was nothing extraordinary, just regular. It was a bit pricey, but it's worth the experience. A fun place to visit because it's unique.

Keyword in these reviews are right: all hype. Yes, the line was at least 30 minutes long. No, the food was not really worth that long of a wait. That's not to say the food was bad, but... I mean, come on, they're churros and McDonald's-grade soft serve. It's probably something you'll want to try once, and then maybe visit again when you have a sweet tooth and the hype has died down. I had the Cheesy Berry, and the churros themselves were hot and crispy. The syrup and soft serve were mediocre, and tasted more artificial than I expected. The cheesecake bites were what you'd expect at Yogurtland. Knowing that, I would probably have opted for a glazed or dipped churros just for the novelty of it.
Ehaab Z — Google review
Went in after 9pm and greeted w a full line passed the store itself!! But the lime moves so quickly and they have a great system set up. As many other reviewers say, "its overpriced churros ", which, yeah kinda steep for a family of 5 to pay $38 for 5 churros. Yes you CAN get them cheaper at a swap meet or snack shack, but its definitely NOT 'artisan' the way these ones are!! I personally had the mermaid one and didnt get a super trendy pic of it cause it was good sweet warm and yummy treat! The glaze and sugar crystals were a nice accent to the churro, the chocolate mermaid tail tasted off for some reason, but it was ok, just didnt "fit the taste" of the churro, maybe more of a deco than flavor scheme. Child had a caramel popcorn loop, made me feel like every tooth had a cavity, way too sweet for my liking.
Nikki S — Google review
Food: The churro is the main attraction here and it doesn't disappoint. You can customize it. They sell it in mini sizes and regular. I have ordered it by itself with no toppings, but no one really does that. They allow you to choose the glaze, which you have strawberry glaze, matcha glaze, chocolate glaze or white chocolate glaze. Occasionally, they will have seasonal flavors like guava and cake batter. I don't ever see anybody get glaze by itself. You can also get toppings on it. They have sprinkles, fruity pebbles, almonds, oreo crumbs, and biscoff cookie crumbs. You can also add in self serve, which they have. Cheesecake, mini reeses, cookie dough, and marshmellow are part of the flavors. Last, they have dips. You can choose to dip it in nutella, dolce de leche, tiramisu, strawberry or cinnamon. On another note, they have special Birthday Chilled Loop and Creme Bruloop Chilled. I tried the Birthday Chilled Loops. It is pretty good. You get a bunch of things going on with it. First, you get a churro glazed in cake batter covered in sprinkles. Next, its placed in ice cream birthday cake vanilla with cake crumbs. Topped off with chocolate Pearl's and a lollipop. It is pretty intense for one person.q Drinks: Tinder Mango Hisbiscus is delicious! Make sure to mix the two flavors together. It has a sweet taste. You can't control the sweetness level. They also have KKW Guava Lemonade, Cardi B Raspberry Mint Mojito, Thai tea, and vietnamese coffee. Service: The cashier is friendly. They occasionally have someone go out and clean the tables. The rest of the employees seem busy making your churros. Ambience: The room is very bright and white. They have some tables inside and outside. The way they have the line set up is weird. You order first from the register, but walk pass workers who decorate the churros. They make it to order. Amenities: 1 unisex restroom. It's pretty clean for the only restroom with a lot of traffic. Indoor has air conditioning, which makes the dessert enjoyable to eat. There is a free selfie machine, but no one really uses it.

Paderia Bakehouse, located in Irvine and Fountain Valley, is a must-visit for its delectable treats. The bakehouse is renowned for its huge and thick cookies with a gooey center and crispy edges. In addition to the cookies, visitors rave about the delicious cheesecake, egg tarts, specialty drinks like Mazapan iced coffee, banana pudding, and Portuguese Egg Tart.
A good ensaymada is so hard to find - this one is a dream! Light and fluffy, yet also topped with rich and decadent cheese and sugar. This has to be enjoyed warm as the cheese and butter melt into a gooey topping! This is the second best ensaymada I’ve ever had - my dad still makes the best from a traditional family Filipino cookbook!

I’ve been hearing about Paderia Bakehouse for a while and finally stopped in! This place is more grab and go than a sit-down cafe, but everything in the case looks so tempting. The vibe is modern and clean with that fresh-baked smell pulling you right in. I went straight for their banana pudding, creamy, rich, with layers of soft wafers that tie it all together. Totally hit the spot. George grabbed one of their giant cookies (these things are no joke!) and loved how chewy and decadent it was. The staff was super friendly too, which made the quick stop even better. They’re also known for their Portuguese egg tarts, malasadas, and ensaymadas, so now I’m already planning my next visit to try those. Pro tip: some items sell out, so the earlier you go, the better! Definitely worth checking out if you’re in Huntington Beach or Fountain Valley.

Great service 👏 they actually answered the questions I had ! especially on the ice coffee horchata They make their horchata by scratch they don't add no powder horchata, which I was very satisfied The cookies are huge and delicious. My wife loves cookies, so she was very happy that I brought her here at this cookie spot 😋 and the banana pudding. It's great too ! The ice coffee horchata was 💯 really, really good they add cinnamon powder on top for free because there's other places that charge extra fee for some cinnamon powder 👍 if you're craving something delicious like cookies and ice coffee horchata. This is the spot!

COOKIE HEAVEN 😇🍪😍🥰🤤 I Absolutely LOVE this Place! ❤️❤️❤️ Best cookies I've had since I was a kid! I used to bake a lot with my family as a child and have never came close to a thick warm tasty cookie 🍪 like Paderia !! Honestly I think I tried all the cookies! I got the Chocolate Chip Walnut 🍪🥰🤤❤️! Chocolate Chip Sea salt 🍪🧂🖤! S'mores 🍪🤎 Chocolate Peanut 🥜 Butter 🖤🍪 , && the Double Chocolate Chip 🖤🍪🖤🍪 All We're Amazing ! Personally I microwaved mine for about 6 seconds and it was perfect! The girl also gave us a banana pudding 🍌🍮💛 on the house! She was so nice especially for our first time! 😁😊 We also got the horchata coffee ☕🤍 ! It was pretty good! Can't remember the total price probably around $24 for the whole thing if I'm correct, but either way this place has me Hooked 🪝🪝🪝! If you love cookies especially those huge big ones! Then this is the place for u! Definitely got a go back for the croissants and some other yummy delectables but gotta go early cause they sell out quick! And once they're out they're out! Best cookies 🍪 I've had by far! Each cookie was full of flavor! And wasn't anything too crazy over powering to were you can't eat it! The chocolate Chip walnut was the perfect substitute for the chocolate chips sea salt if you want some nuts in it! Tasted exactly the same except the salt wasn't on the walnut one but it was amazing! Peanut butter was bomb! Tasted like a peanut butter chocolate candy! The s'mores was delicious! The marshmallow inside was soft and gooey! And the double chocolate chip was amazing too! Warm them up & drank it with some milk! 🥛🍪 And just enjoyed the moment ! I loved it so much I even signed up for the reward points! Definitely recommend! They even have more drink options like matcha 🍵 strawberry 🍓 & almond croissants 🥐 on Saturday and Sunday! And so much more! And the banana 🍌 pudding was really good too! I'm not a crazy banana 🍌 person but this wasn't so bad. Had smooth banana whip and banana pieces in it too and some little crunch bits on top i think it was Graham crackers not sure but it was tasty! 💛🍌💛 Great place for a cookie craving! 🤤🥰🍪😍 Don't skip out on here ! It's worth it! 😁

Had this bakery on my hit list for a while. Wanted to try their Portuguese egg tarts...and they were AMAZING! The bakery is very clean and nicely decorated. The staff is friendly and helpful. The menu has lots of yummy up options. But I came for the Portuguese egg tarts lol

A small bakery with a tight attention to quality and detail. Everything from their sweets to decor is extremely well done. The baked goods are sweet but not too sweet, the displays are clean and clear, and the menu is simple and easy to read. I especially like how they styled the interior,l. The baked goods are very good with a perfect balance of sweetness, but I would pass on the nutella filling for the malasada. It was pretty bad, and tasted like Hershey’s chocolate syrup. Next time I’m getting a plain one. For their Vietnamese coffee, it's nothing special. It's thinner than you'd expect from an authentic Viet coffee, and tastes identical to the cafes that cut corners by using expresso shots with condensed milk.

Ensaymada - buttery sweet - soft and warm - tasty Plain Malasada - warm and fluffy - lightly sweet Sea Salt Chocolate Chip Cookie - sea salt is very concentrated and salty - just okay Cinnamon Sugar Malasada - warm and fluffy - good amount of cinnamon sugar

This is a place that I enjoy going to. I have a sweet tooth. I was going to TJ Maxx and saw Paderia. I then had to stop by. I got an ube coconut and egg tart. Sometimes some items sell out. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place.

French’s Bakery is a classic and renowned bakery with locations in Mission Viejo, Orange, and Costa Mesa. They specialize in crafting beautiful cakes, cupcakes, cookies, danishes, and pastries that have delighted locals for over 50 years. Their traditional recipes have given them staying power as a neighborhood favorite. While some find the staff not too friendly and the lack of Apple Pay inconvenient, many still flock to French’s for their delicious treats like cream cheese danishes and bear claws.
Just happened into this fabulous Bakery!! Oh my goodness!! I wanted one of everything!! Not only did it look so good, but it tasted awesome also!! The tables outside were nice to sit at. I would definitely come back!

We ordered a birthday cake and they did a beautiful job! The service was wonderful and they had our cake ready when we picked it up. It was also delicious! We had the vanilla cake with buttercream and it reminded me sooo much of my favorite Florida cakes from Publix—iykyk! Thank you for the wonderful cake and smash cake! My little one loved it!
Sarah — Google review
They used to offer a uniquely special omelet cheese bread with a jalapeño option as a daily option and it would sell out every day. Now it is just special order but it is worth the trip and the special order. Enough so that when I travel from out of state, I schedule time nearly every trip to get to French's after calling a day in advance for the cheese bread, extra cheesy. It is about $7 a loaf and well worth it. Imagine a firm, pillowy textured bread with strong veins if golden cheddar mixed throughout a moist egg based dough. The mouth feel is excellent and the cheesy, slightly salty taste results in a total loaf being consumed as a meal substitute. Very hard to put down. Almost as if a deliciously cheesy quiche morphed into a loaf of bread. French's was hit hard by covid and had to consolidate some stores. I worry some day it will no longer be around, similar to the classic Claim Jumper of old (bought out and commercialized elsewhere into a shell of its former self). This is a bread that a cheese monger or bread lover should try before you die. Other than that, French's has a large variety of baked treats, bread and they make excellent custom cakes. It might remind you of an actual French bakery you might encounter in Saint Germain. Trust me and treat yourself to this delicacy, a treat I haven't encountered anywhere else.

Celebrating a co-worker's birthday, we stopped at French's Bakery in Costa Mesa to pick up a cake for a surprise birthday party. The staff took care of me, making sure the cake was ready to go and I was in and out in less than 5 minutes. They have a wide selection to choose from and if you have enough time, you can have custom cakes made. Great prices. Definitely will use again.

I ordered on DoorDash because of the reviews I paid extra because I live a long way away. Very disappointed no better than average what you get at a supermarket for the cookies for the cupcakes . these taste like they’re made with mixes just like you could buy in the store chocolate chip cookies by the dozen are mediocre. I’m really disappointed. I wanted to have something really good.
Janet S — Google review
Excellent bakery. My wife had been a French's supporter when she was young and living in the Costa Mesa area. We are in Colorado now, but when visiting Disneyland, we make sure we go to French's and pack a cooler on our way back home. Update: 2025, things seemed to have changed, smaller portions, not tasting the same. Most likely will not go out of my way to stop when visiting Disneyland now living in Washington State.

The Straw is a renowned milkshake destination that has gained national recognition for its exceptional offerings. With a diverse menu featuring unique flavors like the Mr. Grey with Earl Grey tea and the Happy Un-Birthday Cake with white cake and caramel, this establishment offers an unparalleled milkshake experience. Customers praise the delicious shakes and commend the friendly service provided by owner Patrick and his staff.
Fantastic Milkshake Spot! Vegan base (dairy free and nut free) option available. They can make some of their signature shakes 100% vegan, and some of them mostly dairy free. I didn't ask details, but assuming some of the chocolate/caramel has a little milk in it. I had the cookie monster (100% vegan) and it was large, thick and delicious! Could have easily split between 2 people and could have used a spoon vs a straw. A few tables inside and a couple outside. There was live music and a pretty friendly server when I swung by. Free shared parking lot in a small strip mall.

The milkshakes here are REALLY good. The guy behind the counter knows what he’s doing and clearly takes pride in it. Really appreciated the card games and cute atmosphere. Made for a really good date spot, we just chatted and cozied up for a couple hours. If you wanna just get to know someone over some of life’s simple pleasures, definitely check this place out.

The cutest, coolest almost hidden gem but well known to the locals in Costa Mesa! Terrific milkshakes, best I've had in many years! And bonus... Karaoke Fridays, Singer Songwriter Night, and Live Band Nights too! 🎶 Patrick, the founder and owner, was so personable and fun! He also mentioned they offer food and adult beverages! 🥂 Thanks Patrick for creating this fun space for people to enjoy your delicious shakes and have some fun! And yes...I had a little impromptu fun Friday night! 😄

Good milkshakes. This place has a really fun vibe with area in front to hang out outside too. Friendly and helpful staff ready to help make it a good time. Flavors are fun and there was variety to the choices, however the flavors weren't as vibrant as we expected. Apple pie, monkey banana, and cup of cookie dough.

SOMISOMI is a popular Korean dessert spot with locations in Irvine. The highlight of their menu is the Ah-Boong, an ice cream served in a fish-shaped waffle cone that's made fresh on the spot. Customers can choose from various fillings like Nutella, custard, and taro, as well as different soft serve flavors. The process of making these treats right in front of you adds to the excitement and nostalgia, reminiscent of carefree childhood days.
We ordered the dulce de leche soft serve with Nutella filling, the dulce de leche flavor is subtle but soft and delicious, specially combined with the Nutella. The cookies and cream was also really good.

Delicious and fun treat! I love the fish-shaped waffle cone filled with Nutella — such a tasty surprise. The milk flavor is my favorite: creamy and not overly sweet. While the flavor selection is limited, what they offer is solid. There’s no indoor seating, but you can usually find a spot around the corner to enjoy your treat outdoors.

What is not to love about somisomi (except the lines!). The warm taiyaki stuffed with custard and Nutella are so good. The ice cream with taiyaki is delicious and so aesthetic. Kids love it too and it's fun to watch the taiyaki get made.

One of the best dessert you can have in OC! The classic milk flavor is a W! Will try other flavors next time! Reminder: avoid some peak time to go to wait in line for too long

The ice cream tasted like the ones from Japan. I didn't believe it until I tried it. But the pastry of the fish shell was actually better than many of the ones I had tried in Japan. It's no wonder there are so many people lined up for this

I visited SomiSomi tonight and it was such a great experience! We tried the peach ube flavor with Nutella filling, and it was absolutely fresh, creamy, and delicious. The combination of flavors was unique and really satisfying. At first, the line looked very long, but it moved quickly, so the wait wasn’t bad at all. Definitely worth it for such a fun and tasty treat—I’ll be coming back for more flavors for sure!

A fun and delicious ice cream shop, Polar Playground is filled with some of the most iconic and favorites characters from all over the world. From lions to pandas, these playful creatures are sure to put a smile on your face. Whether you're looking for a sweet snack or something special to take home, Polar Playground has got you covered!
I can't say enough good things about this place. I heard about it over a year ago but have never been able to make it here during one of my trips but this time, I made a point to stay an extra day so I could carve out some time and take this off my list. I got there on a Sunday before they opened and was first in line, I had time to look at their menu board and decide on which character I was going to get. I was like a little kid, waiting with anticipation and excitement! When they finally opened their doors, everything flowed smoothly and efficiently...you ordered, you paid and then they call you so you can watch your cotton candy masterpiece being created. It truely is an art! After mine was done, i waited for the 3 girls in back of me to get theirs done too, had to see what characters they got and I am glad I did. This pace is fun for all ages and I will be sure to add it to my list of things to do for my clients since I am a travel agent and I sent lots of families to Disneyland, so this is almost a must. I think the price is right at like 19.99. I got the unicorn and it was HUGE!!! I thought this would be a one and done type place for me but nope. ...I want to come back everytime I come to town and experience something new...oh and they sell ice cream too. Fun fun fun run, dont walk, so much of a fun and neat experience
Cyn-D M — Google review
The cotton candy was adorable and the shakes were actually very tasty. It's a bit pricey which is fair because it takes a while to make the cotton candy. The only reason I would not come back is that the line is sooooooo long. Waiting for 45 minutes to order and get the food when you have small kids is too much. And there's nowhere really to stand or sit.
Jen Y — Google review
We showed up 30 minutes before closing, expecting long lines but there were only a couple of people ahead of us. Our 3 cotton candies were made fast, and were super cute. The employees were very nice, friendly, and patient. This place is great for people of all ages.
Viri S — Google review
Normally there’s a line out the door. We came on a Thursday at 6:30pm, no line until we left after 7pm, more families came. This place is the ultimate kids and adult dessert dream with ice cream, sundaes, milkshakes, malts, soft served and character shaped cotton candy! Of course we had to get a character cotton candy! It’s massive! We got the mushroom in Mario bros and a scoop of espresso ice cream. Each worker is so talented! Takes about 5 minutes to carefully craft the character of your choice and all the detailing that goes into it takes a village! It was impressive seeing each of the workers on different parts of the design. The flavors depend on what character you choose. You can pay for additional toppings to add more flavors.

Great One Time Experience! Never again. Between multiple screaming toddlers and the exorbitant wait time I can’t imagine ever putting myself through that torture again. I got here 30 minutes before they opened. I didn’t get to order until 90 minutes later. Didn’t get my sculpture for another 30 minutes. 2 hour wait time is real. They honestly should consider an order ahead system where you just pick up the sculpture at a certain time. The sculpture itself was pretty good. But I wish they had someone dedicated to just helping people bag them. I managed to ruin the two I got because I had no one to help me. (And the employees were too busy) All in all if you get there an hour before they open it might not be so bad for a one time thing.

If you're on the hunt for a unique dessert experience, look no further than Rollin' Creamery, a contemporary gem in Orange County specializing in Thai-style rolled ice cream. This delightful spot offers an array of classic and inventive toppings to complement their rich, creamy ice cream that is made fresh right before your eyes. As you choose your flavor—from Mango Chamoy to Fudge Brownie—you can watch as skilled artisans expertly flatten and roll the ice cream into perfect spirals.
We ordered Thai tea and Fudge brownie roll ice cream. I tried both and they were delicious and not too sweet. I usually enjoy drinking Thai Tea, so the Thai Tea tasted better than the chocolate flavor. Chocolate flavor is the chocolate flavor that everyone knows. I will try other flavors later as they have so many flavors of ice cream here! The staff were quick and friendly:) There are places to sit and table game inside the store. Also, the atmosphere of the store was fun.
Jenny C — Google review
To begin with, the prices are quite steep, and the service didn't quite meet expectations. I opted for the new Banana Nutella flavor, only to find that the bananas used weren't fresh, but fried. I also ordered the Caramel Coconut Delight ice cream, which had an excessive amount of chocolate crunches. The addition of dry, hard coconut was rather perplexing. Each item cost $9, which felt disappointing given the lackluster experience. Unfortunately, the ice cream failed to impress. On the upside, the establishment's ambiance and setup were well done.
Ramya G — Google review
Great authentic Thai rolled ice cream. If you are in the neighborhood, you must try! Watch out, there might be a bit of a wait, especially if they don't have all the stations opened. Worth the wait!

We have been here twice and totally love it! The ice cream is creamier and denser than regular ice cream and comes in great flavors like Thai Ice Tea and Ube!! It's a must try if you are looking for something different.

I loved this icecream place! Top 3 favorites are: 1. Spicy Mango Chamoy 2. Sea Salt Caramel 3. Café Sua Da (vietnamese coffee) It's very small inside. It's fun for everyone to watch the girls roll your ice cream. The flavors are really great. There were 10 of us so I think we tried almost all of them. Ok so we literally searched up rolling ice cream on google and because of all the positive reviews and pictures, we decided to come on down here. Glad we did! The customer service was immaculate. Especially the owner. Now to the good part, we had the the Cafe Sua Da and Cookies n’ Creme ice cream and that alone was the best we’ve had and we’ve been to several spots. The Thai Tea and the Fruit Crepe were out of this world, the flavors and textures of all the foods/drinks were so rich, so delicious! I’m a random dude who doesn’t normally post reviews and I also wasn’t paid for this lol.. just TRUST ME. Go!

stopped by and had rolled ice cream again for the first time in a while. they had soo many flavors to choose from. we got the thai tea and matcha cream and both flavors were super reach and yummy. the owner was also super nice and shared some of their flavored lemonades with us, and it was really refreshing. definitely coming back !!
Jessie M — Google review
Personally its wayy too expensive for plain ice cream without adding anything inside. I ordered the strawberry cheesecake ice cream and it was $8 for one. I was disappointed that the ice cream wasn't anything special. I felt like a better choice would be coldstones because at least you can customize what is going into your ice cream for the same price or even buying myself an ice cream from the store would have been better. Im sorry to say I'm not coming back.

Asian fusion restaurant
Gem Dining is a pan-Asian restaurant that serves up some of the best Asian cuisine in Orange County. Chef Alan Nguyen has created unique dishes inspired by different Asian cultures, and all of them are delicious. From Singaporean-inspired soft shell crabs to Malaysian laksa risotto, there's something for everyone at Gem Dining.
What an amazing experience. Not pretentious at all. Nice chill atmosphere. Super nice attentive (but not overly pushy) staff. Extremely fair prices. And really flavourful food !! Super good. Portions are decent sized. Really improves on many traditional dishes! The Brussel sprouts were my favourite.

I’ve heard lots of good things about this place and finally got to try! It’s definitely worth the hype. All dishes we ordered were delicious. Although I personally found it too salty ( I usually cook with 0 salt), I’d definitely come back again. I highly recommend the soft shell crab. It’s juice and savory. The sauce is amazing. We visited on a Sunday with reservation. It was right at the opening time and there’s already a line at the door. The restaurant filled up very quickly. Therefore, a reservation is strongly recommended.

What can I say besides amazing. The waitstaff is nothing but amazing and nice and knowledgeable. The food walks the line of familiar and unfamiliar perfectly and delivers both on taste and presentation. Even one of the most simple dishes which was the elote had subtle layers of flavor that were beyond enjoyable. I’m from out of state but I will come back when I have the chance. Thanks to our waitress Jessica (I think, I’m awful with names) for a fun time.

I love their takes on Asian fusion, bringing inspiration from all cultures. Been here multiple times and have not been disappointed. Service is great, the team is run well, and food is always a hit. If it sounds good on paper, it's more than likely good in your belly.

First time dining here and definitely not the last. I wasn’t expecting this type of restaurant in Fountain Valley. First off the customer service by far is excellent! Hard to find that type of service now a days. All the staff were friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was very good. The food is exceptionally flavorful as well. The portion size is just right because of the impact of the all the flavors in the food. The only reason why I didn’t give a 5 star is because the food temperature wasn’t as hot as I liked it to be but that’s be very picky on my part. I don’t give 5 stars easily unless a near perfect dining experience. I highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion from just having a family dinner or date night. I look forward to coming here again in the near future and trying other dishes.

Very good food, portions in just right size, yummy cocktails and very good service. Kevin was our server and he was amazing! Brussels sprouts, soft shell crab, salted yolk pasta, Tom yum, risotto. I loved my yolk pasta - very creamy with soft noodles. Risotto was spicy on my taste, but my husband loved it. Tim yum was very good. Too bad they didn’t have coconut cocktail that I saw on the pictures here. Another reason to come back. Ube tiramisu and sticky toffee pudding were delicious. We left full but not stuffed. P.S. there are like 4 restaurants under same roof so it took us some time to find the right door )
Ivet L — Google review
Good service. Food is certainly unique Asian fusion. Had the Tom yum pasta and laksa risotto. Enjoyed both dishes (particularly the sauce of pasta is 👌) manager was also very helpful in helping us select our wine of choice. The wine selection is not the most expansive, but works quite well with their dishes If you have a patio reservation and are afraid of chilly weather, ask your server to bring some additional heat lamps over. They would be more than happy to oblige 😀

This dinner at Gem Dining was filled with unique and flavorful dishes that highlighted ingredients across Asia✨🙌🏻 🍽️Ordered: 1. Beef tongue sisig 2. Tom yum pasta 3. Soft shell crab 4. Lomo saltado octopus 5. Bone marrow elote 6. Roti canai w/ butter chicken curry Each of these dishes had a distinct flavor profile and I loved how the menu was so diverse. The beef tongue sisig was so juicy and tender and paired perfectly with sautéed eggplants and bell peppers. The soft shell crab was perfectly fried and mixed with a delicious Singaporean chili sauce👏🏻. The octopus was another favorite because of how tender and fatty it was! Unfortunately the elote and roti weren’t fan favorites because they lacked the same kind of excitement as the other dishes. All in all, I loved trying all these plates and flavors distinct to different Asian regions from Thailand to India to Malaysia. I’ll definitely be back to try more next time! 💰Price: $140/meal

Location: Cute place. They have board games available for you to borrow. Indoor and outdoor seating available. There are also a small set of swings outdoor. Service: Very nice customer service since I was with little kids and they did not mind that the kids wanted to sample everything. Food came out very fast. Food: There are a variety of ice cream flavor. The crepe was okay, it wasn’t the best one I’ve ever taste but it will quench your craving. Crepe comes with 2 ic cream flavors, choice of banana &/ strawberry, whip cream, Nutella, chocolate &/ caramel drizzle. Price: decent pricing I guess. I order 3 crepes and 1 scoop of ice cream for a total of $27. Tip: they have water and water cups available on the side for free.

I’m so glad the parking lot was full at the first dessert spot we were going to try. Creamery Pop was delicious and the service was super friendly and super quick. We had a banana split and a cake (red velvet cake with cookies and cream ice cream). 10/10 would recommend

This has got to be one of the best ice cream and gelato shop on bolsa. The gelato is soft and creamy, exactly what a gelato is suppose to taste like. The service is awesome. Yes, it's more expensive than Baskin Robin, but this is gelato, so it should be. They have many unique flavors like green tea and durian. Best part of the durian is that they added durian chunks. I also tried their tiramisu and it tasted exactly like a tiramisu cake. They also sell macarons and cake, but we came to early, so it wasn't ready. The decorations is very instagram worthy. Lots of parking with very clean interior. I highly recommend this place.

Dolce Gelato offers a delightful selection of themed gelatos that change monthly. Located conveniently across from the District, it's a popular spot for dessert after dinner. The gelato flavors are delicious, with options like Oreo being a favorite choice. It's definitely worth trying out for a tasty treat.
We love this Gelato place! Been going here for years after movies and dinners. The flavors are always rotating with the reliable ones sticking around and new themed flavors on each month or so. It makes for a fun and delightful visit every time. The ingredients are clearly well thought out and the flavors are more than good, they’re culinary art! This time was Elphaba + Galinda for the Wicked movie release and I love it!

I was excited to try the gelato here, but unfortunately it was quite average. The texture wasn’t as creamy as I expected, and the flavors felt a bit flat. It wasn’t bad, but it also didn’t stand out compared to other places I’ve tried. For the price, I was hoping for something a bit more special. Overall, it was an okay experience, but I probably wouldn’t make a special trip to come back
Pantea A — Google review
Chef Lindsey is an absolute mad woman in the best way possible! You can taste the love she puts into her flavor creation. Dolce does all the "traditional" flavors really well, but these character based flavors are spectacular! Highly suggest these limited time flavors based on Wicked (Elphaba and The Cowardly Lion were my favorites). Besides delicious gelato, Dolce serves up great customer service. Glad to have them as our neighborhood gelato shop.

I love this Gem. My favorite place to get Gelato after a great day at the beach! They have all usual flavor plus a few unique ones that I could Sample. The staff was very helpful and recommended a few that I would never tried, and quickly loved the variety. Love it!

Some of their flavors were a little too sweet. However, they will provide taste samples for you to get the flavor you like. The staff is really nice and patient. Love their gelato names, very creative.

Pretty cool spot next to amc at the district. They have some interesting flavors. My personal favorite is the sea salt chocolate truffle.

Really good gelato. They always have a mix of standard/ creative flavors. Can’t give 5 stars though because of the workers. I went in last night with a group of friends at about 9. The two workers didn’t say a word to us the entire time. They just stared at us blankly as we got samples, ordered, and paid. Idk if they were like really high or had no social skills. But it was weird

Sweet girls were working, and they were welcoming and trying the flavors! They have a large variety of different gelatos, and quite honestly, I was genuinely surprised by the flavor and quality of the gelato. I was more so expecting the ice cream consistency, but pleasantly surprised with the gelato. Went with the standard hazelnut and coconut/vanilla and had amazing flavor! Great Gelato option and would definitely recommend for a quick and sweet treat!

Tableau Kitchen and Bar is a delightful dining destination that offers a spacious atmosphere perfect for gatherings, whether it's a special occasion or just a casual brunch. Guests rave about the exceptional food quality and beautiful presentation of each dish. The menu features creative options like chicken and waffles, breakfast burritos without rice inside (a thoughtful touch for health-conscious diners), and unique desserts such as Ube cookies with mochi. The attentive service adds to the experience, with staff who seem to anticipate needs before they arise.
The food was outstanding, which comes as no surprise since they also created the restaurant Toast. The Asian-American fusion here is just as skillfully executed as Toast's memorable Korean Fried Chicken Sandwich. Things to try here: the Pho-tato Chips and the Chicken and Waffles are particularly both unique and delectable.

I’ve walked past Tableau at South Coast Plaza at least 100 times, always thinking it was just a regular café. Nope. This place is outstanding. I had one of the best gem Caesars with fresh anchovies—not the cheap canned kind—and added warm, wild grilled salmon on top. Everything was super high quality, and they were happy to customize my order, making the salmon with butter instead of oil. We also got their French Levain sourdough bread (so good), and my husband ordered another salad with salmon, which came with egg and avocado—he gave it a 10/10. Now, let’s talk about dessert because I need to blame this place for fattening me up. The cookie croissant? By far one of the best desserts I’ve ever had. The custard and cream it comes with are absolutely to die for—flaky, warm, and just melts together with the ice cream in the most perfect way. And I finally found a New York-style cheesecake that’s actually high-quality and delicious. It comes with graham cracker ice cream, which just takes it to another level. Big thank you to Chelsea for the amazing service! She answered all of my questions about the food and catered to my picky requests without hesitation. What really surprised me is how much effort they put into everything. The owners clearly care, the bartenders and staff are fantastic, and they actually listen to customer feedback. It’s not a high-end place, but it serves top-tier food in a totally relaxed, non-pretentious setting. They’re seafood-forward, the prices are way more reasonable than you’d expect for the quality, and parking is super easy. I didn’t try the drinks, but I’m already planning my next visit for the almond croissant (which was sold out), cookies, pineapple upside-down cake, and a flat white. This is officially on my regular rotation!

Pancakes were delicious with the compote. Berries were a bit too tart and syrup was sweeter than expected. The smash burger was yummy. Cappuccino was VERY strong (super dark roasted), but made with the correct portion of milk to foam. Only 2 servers during Sunday brunch so service was friendly but slow.

This is the perfect spot for brunch! From thoughtful presentation, to the quality of ingredients, to the superb service by the waitstaff… my girlfriends and I were so happy we found our new fave place to visit after a day of shopping! There are so many creative items on the menu; can’t wait to return to try more things! Must order the chicken wings and taiyaki waffles + the jasmine tea French toast! ❤️ also have to give a shout-out to Lily who was so sweet to give us complimentary juices for our mimosa flight, just to make sure it was to our liking. We were really impressed, even though the restaurant just opened a couple months ago. You might see the owners also pitching to help, so have some patience and definitely come hungry. 😋

This place was wonderful spacious. Food was amazing. Service was impeccable! They checked up on us a few times! We came for my daughter’s birthday! She had a swell time. We enjoyed everything we ordered! My favorite is the chicken and waffle and my husband loved his breakfast burrito! Being health conscious, we are very pleased that they didn’t add rice inside the burrito, but outside, what a smart decision! We also tried their Ube cookie with mochi! It was delicious, wish there was more of it for the price. Overall, I would recommend this place.

Each plate served is so beautiful to look and is amazing to taste. I have visited there several times with family and friends, and everybody was happy. Always full of belly with satisfaction to leave the place. Price is also wonderful to the prime quality of each meal. Staffs are also so friendly, and quit smart to serve our table. They seems like they know what we may need even before asking. So good and wonderful time I had in the place. I would strongly recommend to taste their deserts. I heard the chef is Michelin starred, and specialized to deserts, each has beautiful vision, and very much delicious of high end quality.

Update: I rated 4 stars for this restaurant months ago. But the quality of food has decreased considerably and the price increased about %30 just for cheeseburger in 11 months!!!!! You should pay about $24 for a typical cheeseburger with fries (I ordered a plain one). We also ordered a steak and a awful piece of fried chicken ( a piece of fried chicken for $9!!!) which was not good. Generally it doesn’t worth the price at all. We won’t go there anymore for sure! The vibe of the restaurant and the quality of the food is good. But I was surprised when I saw the cheeseburger (with fries) for $19.

We had a wonderful experience dining here. The space between each tables, and the cleaness of the restroom in the restaurant are great. The staffs were friendly and the foods were amazing. Especially the Kobe cheese burger and rice pudding. Oh, The texture of the mashed potato was awesome too. Will definitely make this place to my pocket list!

Every bite was a burst of flavor, and you could tell the chefs put so much thought and care into each plate. The service was top-notch as well. Our server was not only attentive but also friendly and genuinely seemed to enjoy being there. It really added to the overall warm and welcoming atmosphere. Whether you're here for a casual meal or celebrating something special, this restaurant nails it on all fronts. Highly recommend—definitely coming back!

Walking into Populaire Modern Bistro in Costa Mesa, the first thing that caught my eye wasn’t the ambiance, the art, or even the menu—it was the chef’s duck press. That was my signal that this place meant business. Naturally, I went straight to the chef, who also happens to be the owner, and asked if he had any pasta dishes similar to a duck pasta I once had in New York. Without hesitation, he looked at me and said, “I’ll make you whatever you want.” Let me be clear: what he made wasn’t just good. It was top three pastas I’ve had in the entire world—and I’ve eaten pasta everywhere. It wasn’t even on the menu, yet somehow, it tasted like it had been perfected over generations. That’s the kind of kitchen this is. To say the food here is “the best” feels like an understatement. Outside of the Hillstone Group, I’d argue this is the best restaurant in California. Period. Every single thing on the menu is a hit. No filler, no weak spots—just bangers, start to finish. And it’s not just the food. The entire experience—the **punk music blasting in the background, the edgy artwork, the effortless but precise service—**feels like it belongs anywhere but an Orange County mall. This place screams Michelin-level talent, but with a soul that would fit better in New York City or Paris. Honestly, most people wouldn’t even grasp how good this place is. Their palates aren’t trained for it. Populaire isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a flex. And if you don’t get it, that’s on you.

The duck breast was very pleasant. It was very flavorful and the rest of the components such as the pomegranate made the dish very light! Every dish I had here was great including the ratatouille and French onion soup

I love this new French bistro located inside South Coast plaza. The atmosphere is casual and approachable. Chef Nick prepared deceptively simple but delicious dishes. We all loved Ladies Who Lunch salad. The ratatouille paired well with the charred house potato bread. The gnudi with brown butter and the grilled octopus were sublime. The duck breast and steak were soft and flavorful. The chocolat and Paris Brest desserts were delightful and not too sweet. The service is very attentive. The chef chatted with us at the end of our meal while his wife made sure we had a wonderful dinner. I can’t wait to come back!

opulaire at South Coast Plaza is a delightful escape! The charming ambiance, with its lush flowers and rich blue accents, instantly sets a relaxed and inviting tone. Both the indoor and outdoor seating areas are cozy and give off a quaint vibe, perfect for a leisurely meal. The service was spot-on, and every dish we tried was a winner, but the Croque Madame really stole the show. They’ve also nailed the small details, from the playful straws to the gorgeous cups and saucers, which make the experience feel extra special. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area!

My first time @ Populaire. The grilled octopus cooked to perfection. The Moroccan sauce added an extra flavor to the already well-seasoned squid. The pasta is an off-the-menu dish for those with a limited palette. The French toast with fresh strawberries was a hit—the chocolate dessert - créme fraiche topped with chocolate cake and chocolate moose layer. The rice pudding was terrific; it was so creamy with a hint of cinnamon. We will undoubtedly be back. 😊

Moonwood Coffee is our new favorite coffee shop and bakery/catering solution! From the minute you step I to the coffee shop, you know you're in for some heavenly goodness! We ordered a gourmet box of cookies online and picked up other baked items to try as well as coffee to go. I tried the Iced Cedar Cinnamon coffee, which was rich and smooth but not too sweet. The baked items were very fresh and delicious! Moonwood started as a catering business, and have since opened the current brick and mortar location a year ago, I am so happy and wishing them continued success! They just gained a new FAN!

We had Moonwood Coffee and Bakery bake two cakes and host a cake decorating "class" for our daughter's 13th birthday. Alecia was responsive and easy to work with, and with general direction on what my daughter was looking for, she and her team member Jessica made two beach-themed birthday cakes and put together a decorating experience for her friends with the same theme. Alecia and Jessica arrived to our house early, had all the supplies the kids needed for about one hour of instruction and decorating and each of them took home a delicious and beautiful cake. Alecia taught them how to pipe and had them practice, then walked them step by step through a beach decoration for their cakes. The kids had a lot of fun and enjoyed working with Alecia and Jessica. Separately, we've visited the Moonwood location on Adams and enjoyed the coffee and baked goods. We had a great experience, thanks for making it a special celebration! (Photos of the small single cakes are samples of those made by the kids in the class. The larger cake is Moonwood's professional work. )

Creamistry is a unique ice cream parlor that specializes in made-to-order treats using liquid nitrogen, offering an impressive selection of over 40 flavors. The experience is as entertaining as it is delicious; guests can watch the ice cream being crafted behind large glass screens, adding an element of excitement to the process. While it may take a bit longer than traditional scoop shops, this wait only enhances the anticipation for their creamy creations.
I love it here. It's such a big open space with seating around the edges. The working space for when they make your ice cream is behind big glass screens, so you can safely watch the show as they do their magic. They use liquid nitrogen to make it, so it's fun to watch, and might take a little longer than a store where the ice cream just needs to be scooped up and put in a cup or cone, but that's what makes it fun here. The staff were friendly, and the process wasn't really all that long. Lots of flavours to choose from, as well. The ice cream itself was beautiful and creamy and I couldn't even finish it all. It was beyond heaven and would thoroughly recommend it here for a treat sometimes. Parking can be a teeny bit problematic, but trust me, it's worth it.

Fun to watch how they make your ice cream in front of you from scratch. There are a lot of options to chose from. My all time favorite is taro ice cream with mixed in almonds. As of price - those guys are pretty expensive, that’s maybe good, cause will keep you from indulging in this calorie-packed paradise on everyday basis.

One of my the most favorite ice creams that I've tried. Matcha Green Tea is a real killer. Never tried that much deep flavor. Also the way they serve it also looks amazing and at first keep all your attention on how does this ice generator works. Though it brings us an extra waiting time as the process is really complicated a bit. Anyway, I strongly recommend this place for the unique flavors that no one else has, and for a well known flavors that they do just much better and more fertile.

Eventually food arrived which was really good although presentation wasn't great. French onion soup was good lots of taste topped off with croutons and cheese. This place used to rock and loved coming here. They stopped allowing you to pay with credit/debit cards and is cash only. watched so many people leave cause they don't carry cash. Frustrating the first time a while back but this time I came prepared with cash. Expecting great service and food my family ordered. We kept getting "we just ran out" on a lot of items. How can you run out when you just opened? So we all finally got our order in and they bring us our drinks. I was shocked , I got two regular orange juices and two shot glasses with orange juice. Huh? I told the lady I paid for 4 orange juices and her reply was "we ran out of cups." So not only did I not get refills but no money back. Now our food is supposed to come with 2 strips of bacon. We got 0. I asked the lady again aren't we supposed to get 2 strips each. Her response "sorry, we must have run out." As she is telling us that three plates come out and oh look... 2 strips of bacon on their plates. Our gluten free waffle was literally corn meal and not the usual with banana and other fruit. We were ignored when asked for syrup. Our potatoes were undercooked and waffles were nearly burnt. I have had it with this place. It's very sad to see. The front lady did seem irritated that I didn't put a tip in the jar when I paid. Maybe that's why we had a bad experience. Just fyi, you get tipped on quality of service not for taking an order. Needless to say we will not be returning here.

I wasn't a fan of the waffles here. I had the Napa waffles and there was bacon in it. I'm a vegetarian and the description did not say bacon was going to be in it. Also, it was just too much going on. Big pieces of greens with big chunks of cheese on top of a waffle. I will not be returning or recommending this place but their one saving grace is the service is really good. We were constantly checked on.

SusieCakes is a solid place to grab dessert. The shop itself is very cute and appealing to the eye. On my last visit, my wife and I got a few different items. The first was their chocolate cookie. This was a large cookie, had awesome crispy edges, and a good chew. Next, we got the 7-layer bar. This was my favorite thing that we got at SusieCakes. It was absolutely delicious, the crunchy coconut paired nicely with the soft and chewy cookie crust. Lastly, we got a slice of the confetti celebration cake. This cake is very good, but it was a bit dry and had a bit too much salt in my opinion. This cake slice also was heavy on the icing, which some people prefer but it was a bit much for my liking. Don't get me wrong, it's an amazing piece of cake but was expecting more!

DELICIOUS!!!!!! These cakes are scrumptious and SUPER soft! We ordered these for our staff appreciation and they were such a hit! They offer a wide variety, so there is definitely a flavor for everybody. They even have flourless cupcakes, which didn’t appeal to me but the sweet employee Cynthia convinced me to get one and she was right, it was amazing and you couldn’t tell it was flourless! The frosting had the right amount of sweetness for me (sometimes it can be overbearing but not Susie Cakes). I also bought a slice of lemon cake for myself and that is definitely worth the calories. The lemon curd in the middle is yummy! All the staff was so friendly, especially Katie and Cynthia, who patiently waited for me to pick out the flavors. My top 3 flavors are: Red Velvet, Lemon Cake and Coconut. Our staff is spread out all over Southern CA, so I go to experience 3 of Susie Cakes' locations.

Great service from the staff. Ordered a lemon cake that was slightly too sweet for my taste. They have a wide choice of cakes and flavours.

Such a sweet place, beautiful cupcakes, bigger cakes. We bought a traditional chocolate cake, just one piece, for a little less than $10. It fed three of us. The cake was good, flavorful, and a bit too sweet to my taste but it was right for the occasion.

Susie's is featuring their most delicious season cupcake yet, See's Candy Chocolate Bordeaux! It was incredible! Service at the Soco location is always stellar. Many of the staff have been there long term and you can tell they care about what they do enough to do it well and with a personal touch. We especially love Noe ❤️

How you doin, cupcake? SusieCakes, now open in Costa Mesa at the South Coast Collection, had a Grand Opening Celebration for people to enjoy. DJ MoJoe spun the 1's & 2's for our audible pleasure. For the kiddo's, facepainting & balloon characters brought smiles to their faces. Passed trays of various complimentary baked goods were brought out by the friendly staff- Whoopie pie's Chocolate chip cookies Classic brownies Cupcakes SusieCakes makes home-style American dessert favorites from scratch. No mixes, artificial ingredients, HFCS or trans fat. I can definitely taste the difference. Even though there was a large crowd during the time I was there, the staff were quick & efficient with taking orders and ringing up customers. You can also see the employees hard at work, whipping up their delicious baked goods for the masses. All the samples were a pleasure to eat. I think I ate too fast because I started to feel a wee bit sick ;p Good thing I had spicy miso ramen at Santouka Ramen afterwards, with the fatty broth to soak up all that sugar. Service was excellent, along with all the desserts. My mom was appreciative of the items I brought her. Parking is complimentary valet & self-parking near the OC Mart Mix. SusieCakes, congrats on your newest location! I'm a fan of your bakery delights. I admire your philosophy of creating from scratch & using high quality ingredients. Nothing Bundt Cakes is a bakery chain that offers a variety of bundt cakes in different sizes, from bite-sized to tiered. They also sell gifts and party supplies. Since its establishment in 2011, this bakery has gained popularity for its delectable cakes that leave a lasting impression on customers. Many people have expressed their love for the cakes, describing them as beautiful and delicious. The staff at Nothing Bundt Cakes is known for being friendly and accommodating.
My favorite thing about Costa Mesa is that you are in such close proximity to amazing dessert options and Nothing Bundt Cake is one of them. I’m a huge fan of their smaller bundts because there’s nothing quite like gifting a small trio pack to a friend on their special day or bringing a dozen of them to the office to celebrate a small win. The customer service here is always great and I love love love the selection! (33/100—2023)

I've been going to this location for years especially with their BOGO bundlet promotion corporate sends out monthly. Never had a problem, they've always honored it for limited edition flavors. Not tonight. The employee exclaimed its a new policy this specific store has adopted to not allow limited edition flavors for the BOGO promotion. I'm sure corporate has no idea they're doing this either. I could care less about the $7.50 extra I had to pay tonight. It's the deception and principle of the matter. No where on the email does it exclude limited edition flavors. The current chocolate peanut butter flavor is front and center in the promotional email with barcode scan under it. Very disappointed and I hope this store decides to eliminate such 'customized' rules regarding promotions from corporate.

We ordered 4 red velvet mini cakes we only received one and the employee threw in a cookies and cream cake that nobody from our group ordered, once we realized her mistake we went back into the store but refused to serve us anymore, half the people in our group did not get to eat cake.

their cakes are amazing. The 1 star is because the staff. I drove with my son for over 50 minutes to get a cake for his birthday. They’re close at 6 , we arrived 6.02 . The girls on the counter made joke out of me and we stay without cake for his birthday. The difference between 1 to 5 star is just some empathy.

They had a limited time only flavor which caught my attention. Churro Dulce De Leche. OMG, it sounds and tastes just as you would imagine. It was definitely worth trying and I wish they would just keep this on their menu. Maybe it's too hard with the filling on the inside but wow, this was amazing and I hope they bring it back.

LOVE OUR SEE'S CANDIES ! My wife and I were at the huge South Coast Plaza shopping mall on Saturday. First up we enjoyed a fabulous lunch at Din Tai Fung and then did a spot of shopping in bedding at Bloomingdale's on the first level. Of course just outside the entrance to this level is the See's candies store..we had to buy some ! Upon entering we could see stacks of See's Candies in boxes but no display cases where you can build your own box. AND THEN ! A friendly cashier named Martha offered us help...where are the display cases filled with chocolates we asked ? Martha explained this location is a pop-up...they are waiting for a permanent location to come up inside the mall. OH WELL ! We grabbed a one pound box of Dark Nuts & Chews..our fav. My wife also picked up some fun choc items for our 2 young grand daughters. Plus Martha gave us the obligatory free chocolate sample. SUPER FRIENDLY SERVICE !

I thought this place was a pastry/bakery cafe but it's actually a pastry school. The chief is.Stéphane Tréand. He's supposed to be a renowned chef from France. The pastries are light and not overly sweet. Their macaroons though are very delicious, comparable to the Laduree. Price is not cheap though. Good dessert. **Checkout Insta @mrakusuma for more recommended places to eat**

Hands down best pastry shop. Stéphane Tréand and his wife are amazing. Stéphane was awarded an M.O.F. best craftsman in France in 2004. They don't just hand this title out to anyone in pastry. You can pre order for the weekend (to make sure you get what you want) and they do cakes.. The pastries are delicate, crispy, flaky, decadent and worth ever penny. He teaches classes and they aren't cheap but you won't get these lessons anywhere else. Stop in and give it a try. I'm sure it'll be a home run for you and the family.

Baskin-Robbins, a vibrant ice cream parlor chain renowned for its wide array of flavors including sorbet and yogurt, is known for its consistent quality. However, this particular location requires attention as the air conditioning needs adjustment or repair to enhance the experience for customers and employees. Unfortunately, enjoying your ice cream indoors is only possible while standing since the chairs are stacked. Additionally, an odd placement of a large table near the cashier register poses challenges in terms of hearing and placing orders.
Sometimes you just want dessert. They truly do have 31 flavors to choose from. Delicious ice cream. They also have sherbet, vegan and traditional flavors.

Terrible stomach cramps, gas and diariah after their milk shake. I generally consume lots of milk, cream and cheese so not lactose intolerant. I had half of one of their milkshakes with my meal yesterday and assumed my symptoms where from the meal. I had the other half of the milkshake today and within 30 minutes was in agony. Definitely the milkshake.

This location is disgusting. Looks like baskin Robbin’s had such low standards. The place is dirty. The ice cream is either melted or has ice. Floors are dirty . Also their hours are incorrect on Google. They close at 9pm not at 10pm. Little care for this store. They still have the Covid set up register. Whoever is running this place shouldn’t.

Tonight while trying to purchase a cake the credit card machine gave an error code that said “COMM_ERROR.” After trying to check out the first time, I let the employee know exactly what the machine said, and she had me try it again. It said the same thing and I explain to her exactly letter by letter, including the “_” what the machine was saying, and that it was not saying “declined”and that I didn’t know what “COMM_ERROR” meant. We tried 3 different times with different cards and I gave the same error code. The employee then walked away to call someone, I presume the manager, to ask them about the situation. I was standing there for several minutes with no help. Eventually a different employee rang up a different customer and the machine worked. The employee who had been helping me came back and said that since the machine had just worked it must be that my card had “insufficient funds” and that if I wanted to I could pay with a different card or cash. I let them know I had tried multiple cards and reminded them the machine did not say “declined.” We tried one more time and it worked. I left pissed. After I left it took me all of 30 seconds to Google what “COMM_ERROR” meant. “I. “Comm Error” – Stands for communication error and is by far the most common issue that you will face. The credit card terminal communicates in two ways. It sends out a signal to the bank which includes the amount of the transaction, etc. The bank authorizes these funds and sends a signal back to the terminal to say “Approved” or “Declined.” If a communication error happens on the way to the bank or on the way back, it will say “Comm Error.” “A. It is normal and to be expected for a new merchant processing over a phone line to receive this error once or twice in the first couple weeks. Always instruct the merchant to unplug the terminal, wait a few seconds, and plug it back in. This will be a temporary fix 95% of the time.” The article goes on but you can get the point that the error stems from the machine not being able to communicate with the bank do to a connection or internet issue on the businesses end. The manager or employee could have easily resolved this by doing a quick Google search like I did. But instead the employee 1) never bothered to come out from behind the counter to look at what the machine said 2) didn’t listen to me when I told her it was a communication error and not a declined payment and lastly and most importantly 3) BLAMED AND INSULTED ME for something that was a problem with their machine and their technology. Would love to give 0/5 stars. Not a fan of get insulted for something that’s 100% on the business and not me.

Extremely terrible customer service. I ordered a photo cake online to this store because it was closest to where I was. I ordered for pick up at 1pm on May 3rd. This cake came out to about 75$. When I went to go pick it up, she showed me the cake. There was a black mark over part of the photocake. I asked what that was. She said “the printer smudged it. Okay….. I asked if they can fix it. She said no the printer left a mark. How is that my issue??? She did not offer any consolation. I was already not able to wait and the blue part I requested looked horrific. I will never be returning and will tell people not to order any cakes from Baskin Robbins. Honestly terrible service overall. No greeting when entering the establishment either.

Obviously the flavor never changes, so the ice cream is always good. This location needs attention. They need to turn up the AC or fix it for costumers and employees. Yogurt America's Cup is a highly regarded frozen yogurt shop that offers an impressive variety of toppings and flavors at affordable prices. Despite its slightly less upscale appearance, this establishment surpasses expectations with its extensive selection of toppings and numerous yogurt flavors (with a preference for tart). This is by far one of my favorite spots to get yogurt! It's a small shop that has A lot of options as far as flavors, dairy needs, and candy as well! came to this location after enjoying it in another location two days ago. However, this was the worst experience for me. First, the girl didn’t understand what I was saying but its not a big deal, I understand. But then, she wanted to charge me for Love It even though she put me Like it. The Like it was definitely under portioned as well. Finished it in five spoons. She also charged me for $1.49 because I asked for extra raspberry topping. I did ask for it but the topping was not near the extra. They wouldn’t even listen to what I was saying, they looked annoyed. Overall, very disappointed.

Something about the ice cream here is not right. I've come back more than once just in case it was a one-off, and no its a trend. Chocolate ice cream here tastes funky and not like real ice cream. I go to the Coldstone in Newport Beach now and the Chocolate ice cream there tastes like actual ice cream.

Honestly, this is the worst expeirience I've ever had. I went to go get a milk shake and the employee made a small mistake, no problem, she was going to fix it and that isn't even the issue. The issue is that the owner or manager, someone who was in charge came out and started screaming at the employee, was super rude and made the employee cry. The person then made the milkshake for me and it honestly tasted a little weird, so I didn't finish it all. Next day you know, super sick barely able to move. Also, it's just super dirty in there.

Update 04.15.21 - Spoke to the owner and I highly appreciate the acknowledgement. Learning opportunity for the team and love they value their costumers. Our family and I really enjoy Cold Stone Ice Cream. On May 14, 2021 around 9:45pm there were about 4 workers that were on shift that did not attend us at all until moments laters, even though there was no one in line. One was even on their cellphone. The light-skinned, brown hair male finally served us but did not do a good job. Please see the photos for further details. We ordered a Love It but he served us less than a Like it. This is prior to eating them (which we didn't end up doing). One was soup and both were under-portioned and messy. There was another male than came out from the back that attended the group next to us. He did a great job and even helped them in Spanish to assist them better. Their ice cream looked delicious! He was the only one with great customer service.

Yogurtland Costa Mesa is a branch of a local chain that offers contemporary self-serve frozen yogurt and various toppings. This particular outpost provides an extensive selection of flavors and toppings, including popular choices like Rocket Pop, cheesecake, cookie dough, and boba poppers. Currently featuring a plant-based blueberry pancake flavor, they also serve other delicious options such as mango tart, plain tart, pear tart, coconut, cookies and cream, among others.
This Yogurtland has the best flavors and toppings! My all time fave is Rocket Pop and fave toppings are cheesecake, cookie dough, and the boba poppers. Right now their featured flavor is plant based blueberry pancake. Other yummy flavors being served right now are mango tart, plain tart, cheesecake, pear tart, coconut, cookies and cream, and more. They thankfully have a wider selection here comapred to other locations. They keep the place pretty clean along with their bathrooms. Only downside is there is not much parking in the front of the place.

I was craving soft serve last Saturday night, but I didn’t feel like driving 7 miles to DQ. So I opted for Yogurtland that was a mile away. The last time I was at Yogurtland, the cost was reasonable. The first thing you do when you walk in is fill up a container and add your toppings. You don’t think of the cost because it’s reasonable. At this store, you should pay attention, otherwise you will feel like you’ve been molested after it’s been weighed. I understand that prices are up on everything, but to charge me $15.25 for 19.8 oz at $.77 an ounce is asinine. The equivalent to this, I should’ve just driven to DQ, because for $7.49 it would’ve been an enjoyable experience. At least the young man at the counter was very friendly.

Hoji soy latte w boba: Pretty good! Nice hojicha flavor. The soy milk is good but the drink is slightly more watery. The boba was meh. A good selection of flavors and toppings, you can choose exactly how much yogurt you need, there are no restrictions on the number of flavors. Before payment, the yogurt is weighed. Definitely worth it, I got a lot in my cup and it's delicious

I’ve been a loyal customer, but today 01/03/25 was disappointing. After finishing a bowl of froyo and going for a second, an employee (guy) I’ve never seen before rudely told me, “It’s not a refill,” looking at me dead in the eyes with no regard for basic courtesy. Regardless of how others behave, paying customers deserve respect. This experience makes me question returning.

Great yogurt. Great service. Great prices. Thet also have specials! They also have a punch card.

This is a great spot run by great people! There are plenty of places to get tasty yogurt, but I believe what sets this place apart is the always-friendly owner and staff. Also, the prices are lower than the "big name" spots like Pink Berry and Yogurt Land, but the quality is the same. I highly recommend stopping by when you're in the area!

Love the service (: and great variety of flavors

Our family loves House of Yogurt! They have the best flavors to choose from. It is also very clean with fun board games to play. The yogurt is delicious, better than any yogurt shop we’ve tried. It is worth driving a little further to get there!!

Great Yogurt and Amazing hospitality! The host was so friendly and made us feel welcome. They even have games to play...old school...so don't rush off. A great new "find". Yum.

This place is so great! The yogurt, the Staff, even the setting is good. Best frozen yogurt place ever! It has so many toppings, and it also has whipped cream and specifically HOT fudge. Expect a great experience leaving you hungry for more from h.o.y.; it is the BEST self-serve yogurt place around!

Ice cream shop
Dear Bella Creamery offers a variety of dairy-free ice cream flavors, with some customers expressing surprise at how authentic they taste. The Taiwanese pineapple cake and matcha mango flavors are particularly popular, although some wished for more cake and mango pieces in their servings. Despite initial concerns about hygiene practices when sampling the ice cream, the service is described as friendly. Customers also appreciate the gluten-free options available, such as chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream and ice cream sandwiches made with gluten-free cookies.
This place is amazing! I enjoyed the chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream with a gluten free cone. My husband had an ice cream sandwich with chocolate chip cookies and cookies and cream ice cream. Everything was gluten and dairy free! It's a little pricey for us but it was a birthday outing so it was worth it. There was only one employee working at the time and it got busy so we gave her a good tip. You can sample different flavors too. Highly recommend it!

Delicious! Tons of flavors and fun toppings too. Only vegan ice cream I've had in SoCal, but it definitely stacks up really well to Seattle and NYC vegan ice creams! They had a great mix of traditional and inventive flavors. Also vegan honeycomb which I'd never had before.
Tessa H — Google review
It must be a lie that it's dairy-free, because I have never had dairy-free ice cream that I couldn't tell was dairy-free before. Taiwanese pineapple cake and matcha mango flavors were great, though I wanted more cake and mango pieces. No photos, as it didn't last long enough to take pictures, haha. Service was friendly. Weirdly they give out free tastes in pairs, one on each end of a wooden spoon (you know, like those flat ice cream spoons), which made me a little nervous about hygiene. Disappointed that some flavors were only available as pre-packed pints.
Jelly2 T — Google review
Dear Bella is my new fav vegan ice cream place. Even better than the offerings from Van Heussen. Had Cookie Monsta, Chocolate Fudge, and one other flavor (can’t remember the name).

Some of the best plant-based ice cream I’ve ever had (and I eat A LOT of ice cream😅) super creative flavors and a rich creamy texture. You won’t miss dairy, I promise! We got the pineapple upside down cake and cookies & cream after they were very generous with letting us taste a few before deciding! Stoked to have a local dairy free spot that HITS. 10/10
Thanks H — Google review
Almost didn't try this ice cream after the initial experience of stepping into the store and smelling a weird, musty smell, but so glad we did! Great dairy free options that taste so creamy and pretty dang close to the real thing. Saw the person in front of me order a Sammie and I'm so glad I decided to do the same - so so delicious! The cookie actually stayed soft the entire time we ate it, I couldn't get enough!
Aimee S — Google review
Oh my goodness! They serve all the ice cream flavors of my dreams! Everything was delicious! I especially loved the Taiwanese pineapple cake ice cream.
Isobelle M — Google review
Wow just found this spot driving around - I’m so glad we came here . Literally every flavor was so good but the one that was above all was the honeybee flavor ! So delicious 🤤 and 100% vegan 🌱!! Thank you Vivian for serving us and being so awesome 👏 definitely will come back !

Ice cream shop
Stella Jean's Ice Cream in Costa Mesa is a must-visit for ice cream enthusiasts. They offer a diverse selection of handcrafted ice creams, including inventive flavors like Ube & Pandesal Toffee and vegan options like Strawberry Oat Crumble. The waffle cones are made fresh right before your eyes, adding to the experience. Located near the tranquil Pinkley Park, it's an ideal spot to enjoy a leisurely stroll after indulging in their delightful treats.
Stella Jean's Ice Cream Costa Mesa – A Unique & Pet-Friendly Ice Cream Spot Located in a bustling plaza in Costa Mesa, near Newport Beach, Stella Jean’s Ice Cream shares a space with The Pop Pie Company, offering a dual-brand experience in one spot. The area is surrounded by trendy dining options, making it a great place to grab dessert after a meal. Their ice cream flavors are creative and unique. I tried the Black Sesame with coconut slices, and the combination of nutty sesame and tropical coconut was surprisingly delightful. The Ube flavor was another standout, with its rich, earthy sweetness and smooth texture. The staff here is super friendly—they gave me many opportunities to try different flavors with great patience, even served my scoop in an upside-down style! The serving is large and makes me feel super satisfied. A staff member later checked in to ask about my experience, which made me feel especially welcomed. The outdoor seating area is a great bonus, making this a pet-friendly spot (just remember, too much human ice cream isn’t great for dogs!). It gets quite busy on Saturday afternoons, with lots of families and kids enjoying their treats. One downside—there’s no WiFi, so it’s not the best place to stay for a long time, especially when it's crowded. But if you’re looking for delicious, unique ice cream in a lively setting, this franchise here is definitely worth a visit!
Scott L — Google review
Omg that was fantastic. Was hot and looking for ice cream nearby, and stumbled in here. The pies next door look great but the ice cream is transcendent. I got ube + smores (respect they offer a split scoop) and will be back!

BEST ICE CREAM. Hands down. And great customer service! My wife and i have been the San Diego locations, and were blown away by the ice cream. So, we were visiting down south from the Bay Area and looked for one that was close - and thankfully, this location! We are used to Salt & Straw up north, but Stella Jeans blows it out of the water. I had the Guava Cream Cheese and my wife had the Mango Sticky Rice. We didn’t feel shamed by all our requests for tastes of flavors and the employee was so helpful and even told us his favorite. Huge thank you to John Michael and the employee who helped us. We will absolutely be waiting for the next store to open up, hopefully in the Bay!

The man behind the counter grabbed my sausage roll with his bear hand. No glove. Didn’t wash his hands either came straight from working on his laptop. That makes me think he is supervisor/manager, which makes it worse. I also saw a roach scurry across the floor while I was in the bathroom. Yuck. On the plus side, the ice cream is really good. And the kids working on that side DO wear gloves. What a world where teenagers have better etiquete than grown adults

I think I found a great Ice Cream Spot. This little place next to the donut shop is it. Free samples to try and unique flavors all delicious. Tried several but my favorite was the Guava Cheesecake in a cup. Or you can get it in a sweet waffle cone. There’s seating inside and outside. The young lady behind the counter was super sweet and offered some samples.

I love the home made ice cream flavors of Stella Jean. Six of us tried multiple flavors and the ube pandesal was the clear winner. The lemon box pie, chocolate, tiramisu crunch and strawberry Basque cheesecake were also creamy and delicious. We need to come back to try the other flavors.
Susanna S — Google review
Good decent ice cream but totally overrated and overpriced. Yes it is delicious and they do have unique flavors. However, I had super high expectations and unfortunately they weren’t met!

Finally! Stella Jean's Ice Cream from San Diego has opened up shop in Costa Mesa on 17th st. I'm loving my vegan mango sticky rice and strawberry oat crumble scoops. Yes, they serve regular ice cream too. Very friendly staff. I'm happy they've opened.
