Cafe
Patisserie
Rahatlook is a charming teahouse located in the heart of Sarajevo's Old Town. The name 'Rahat' embodies the pleasant and comfortable atmosphere that this place offers. Tucked away from the bustling main street, it provides a calm and relaxing space for visitors to unwind. The tearoom boasts an open and bright interior as well as a spacious outdoor area at the back.
Rahatlook is a charming cafe just off the main bustling streets of old town where you are guaranteed a smile, authentic Bosnian beverages, and a sweet homemade treat of natural ingredients. Many bakeries are using margarine, artificial whipped cream, etc in their versions of classic desserts but Rahatlook uses butter and real whipped cream. This alone would keep me returning. The added benefits of friendly owners (mother and son were lovely to speak with), comfortable vibe, and reasonable prices are icing on the cake (so to speak). ;-) Their tufahiya and orasnice are the best I've had and their boza and juniper water is addicting. Don't miss the gem in Sarajevo!
Gee D — Google review
We stopped here for coffee and dessert after lunch and were delighted with the calm atmosphere of this café. Traditional Bosnian coffee and homemade cakes make this shop a must for the sweet tooth. Elderflower juice super good too.
Gretaludo — Google review
Great pastries, great atmosphere - so good we came twice! A family-run business, Rahatlook offers an excellent range of home-made cakes and pastries - the perfect place for a quick breakfast in Sarajevo’s old town.

Top top top!! Definitely 5⭐️! Not sure why it’s 4.8 and not 5 it totally deserves full stars. If you’re in Sarajevo, you really have to stop by! You’ll find desserts here that you can’t find anywhere else. The place feels like a real Bosnian home from the vibes to the pastries and coffe The owner is Amire and his mother (she’s the one baking everything) ,he is super nice and welcoming. Everything is homemade and fresh. We also had a great chat with Amire really kind guy! I tried the poppy seed cake (fell in love with it 😍 didn’t even take a photo because once I started, I couldn’t stop until it was gone!), the walnut cake, and the apple pie ,all were amazing!

Patisserie
Oriental goods store
SARAJBOSNA ® 1997 is a renowned patisserie in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, offering traditional desserts including the famous baklava. The establishment is known for its high-quality baklava with a wide selection of flavors such as pistachio and hazelnut. Visitors can expect friendly service from English-speaking staff who are happy to assist in choosing from the vast variety of baklava available.
The best baklava in Sarajevo. Well recommended for tourists because one can get baklava packed in vacuum packaging for travel. Great service and reasonable prices for top notch products.
Imano P — Google review
One of the rare places left in Sarajevo with propper home made baklava. They are very welcomming and polite. If you plan to travel with your baklava, tell them and they will vacuum seal it.
Tarik M — Google review
Friendly service giving me recommendations. Definitely wanted to try out the pistachio baklava. Unfortunately I felt the layers were too soggy and lacking flavour. I probably came with too high expectations. It's ok, but had much better baklava many times beforem
Thomas V — Google review
Scam Alert – Overpriced and Dishonest Practices We had a terrible experience at this baklava shop. They displayed different prices per kilogram for various types of baklava, but when we asked for a mixed selection, they charged everything at the highest price per kilogram. The final amount made no sense—it felt like they were making up the price on the spot to overcharge us. To make matters worse, they didn’t issue a receipt, which only added to the suspicion that we were being scammed. For a small amount of baklava, we paid a ridiculous price. This place is dishonest and takes advantage of customers. Be extremely careful if you decide to buy here—ask for clear pricing upfront and demand a receipt. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.
M K — Google review
Legendary baklava sweets. I love their format and selection of fillings. You can combine any number of any kind, they even pack it so sugar doesn't spill out.
Ivan S — Google review
The baklava here is beyond perfect! The best I’ve ever had, even better than the ones in Turkey. They are very moist and soft.
Brigitta M — Google review
This was the best baklava I have had in Sarajevo. Been coming to Sarajevo since 1997. Nothing else to say but; tourist or not, you have to get your baklava here!

Lovely spot in the heart of Sarajevo! Mrvica Old Town is cosy, welcoming, and has a great atmosphere. The staff are incredibly friendly and make you feel right at home. I tried the traditional breakfast and it was absolutely delicious – fresh, flavorful, and beautifully served. A perfect place to start your day in the old town. Highly recommended!
Explore T — Google review
On our final day in Sarajevo, we came to try Mrvica for breakfast. I ordered my go to - eggs royale and my wife an omelette. The eggs royale came on a croissant from their bakery, instead of the usual muffin or bread. It was very nice. I liked how the tea came with shots of concentrated lemon and orange juice. Mrvica have a large bakery with lots of great options, in terms of breads, cakes and other desserts. Staff members were very friendly and provided great service. Highly recommend!!
Kamran K — Google review
Such a nice bakery. Loved loved the Sebastian cheesecake along with the pista sauce, it was too extra delicious. Couldn’t get the hands off. Cafe affogato was so nice too. Overall a nice vibe and good setting
Richa T — Google review
A lovely café with a great atmosphere. We enjoyed the omelette, which was nice, and there’s a fantastic selection of cakes. Unfortunately, some breakfast items like sunny-side-up eggs weren’t available, so the kids couldn’t have a simple option. The tuna sandwich was over-toasted and difficult to eat. Service was quite slow, likely due to how busy it was, but overall still a pleasant experience.

We had a wonderful time here. The atmosphere was pleasant and inviting, the food was good, and the service was really nice. They have a charming backyard too. We sincerely hope to return again.

Marshall's Gelato is a charming spot in Sarajevo that offers a delightful experience for everyone, especially those with gluten sensitivities. With its stunning floral decor and inviting atmosphere, it's an ideal place for a romantic date or a fun outing with friends and family. The gelateria boasts an impressive selection of gluten-free desserts, including cakes and pancakes that are both delicious and satisfying without the typical gluten-free texture. Guests rave about the friendly staff who are eager to assist, making every visit enjoyable.
EVERYTHING is GLUTEN-FREE, really true! Amazing cakes, Streusel or variations of cheesecake, incredible homemade and ice cream on side if you wish for, nice little terrace to sit on, free WiFi to work with a celiac friendly sweet tooth, highly recommended. Even non-celiacs go there due to the high quality of a well-rounded taste of the cakes.

Aleš P — Google review
Disappointed in the taste/quality of the ice cream today. We've visited Marshall's each time we've been in Sarajevo for the last three years. The price has always been at the higher end but the quality of the product warranted it. Previously I would have given 5 stars for the food.
Sara B — Google review
Excellent gelato worth the walk from the old city. They take credit cards or cash.
Noor A — Google review
What a fun place to grab coffee and a desert. They have a wide variety of cakes and gelato (ice cream) to choose from. Even on a cold winter day it was a pleasure to step inside to the heat and get a sweet treat. The server was caring and thoughtful, he brought glasses of tap water with our deserts and coffee without even being asked. What foresight and great customer service!

Slastičarna Ramis is a popular dessert shop in Bascarsija known for its authentic and delicious Bosnian desserts. The cakes are made with high-quality, fresh ingredients and are not overly sweet or processed. Customers rave about the Tufahija, a must-try dessert, and the incredible honey cake. While the staff may not always be friendly, the warm atmosphere and amazing coffee make up for it.
Great little bakery in the main strip of the old town. Hana was very helpful is giving us a breakdown of all the sweet treats that were on offer. We tasted the famous poached apple dessert and a Boem cake (2nd bestseller in the shop) and both were delicious. Definitely recommend! ❤️
Aneesa R — Google review
Excellent for an after meal dessert and coffee (or tea). The selection of sweets is diverse and seating inside is plenty. Although it does get full on weekend nights. There is seating outside when the weather is right. And if you pick the right seat in the outside area, it can be the perfect place for people watching as it is in the main cross roads of Old Town. As of MAR2025, a pistachio baklava costs 2.5 BAM.
Nabil R — Google review
I stopped by Ramis Café Slastičarna and tried their tufahija—and wow, what a treat! The poached apple was perfectly tender and soaked in just the right amount of sweetness, topped with fluffy whipped cream and a cherry that gave it a nice touch of colour and flavour. It’s a simple yet comforting dessert that really hits the spot. Also, I have to mention one of the ladies working there—although I didn’t catch her name, she was incredibly friendly, had a great sense of humour, and was super polite. Her warm and cheerful energy made the experience even better. Service like that really makes a difference. Definitely looking forward to coming back!

Little bakery with good cakes and good coffee and Thee, Located in the touristics area of Sarajevo we like it a lot, we went 3 times, prices, also good 5 to 7 bosnian marks. Friendly ladies.
Caminante313 — Google review

Berk Ç — Google review
Sometimes politeness and hospitality come before taste. This establishment has people who enjoy chatting with each other rather than serving their customers. Even though I have 2 small children, the water I wanted did not come for minutes. Even when I reminded them, their response was "no problem" and they went on to deal with another customer. No excuse and no kindness. I am not interested in the food and desserts of this establishment that is far from politeness and craftsmanship and cannot even tell the bill properly when I asked for it.
A D — Google review
Patisserie Ramis deserves strong criticism when it comes to customer service and attitude. We arrived at 9:50 PM, intending to buy cakes to go — not to sit inside or keep the staff longer. Even though the posted working hours clearly say they are open until 10:00 PM, the owner literally kicked us out, saying “I can close whenever I want.” When I pointed out that it was still 9:50 PM, not 10:00, I was met with rudeness and refusal of service. For a place that wants to be seen as professional and attract customers, this kind of behavior is shameful. If you claim to work until 10:00 PM, then respect it — or change your opening hours. Otherwise, people will remember you for arrogance, not for your cakes.
Rade K — Google review

Situated in the heart of Bascarsija square, it provides a cozy ambiance with attentive service and Bosnian hospitality. Visitors can enjoy the delicious treats while surrounded by the historical market atmosphere.
A patisserie in the centre of Sarajevo that is definitely worth a visit! The desserts are excellent, but what makes this place special is the service. The young waitress, with her bright smile and her way of sharing local specialities, makes every visit feel like more than just a quick bite to eat. I found myself coming back several times during my stay, as if it had become a little habit... The prices are also very reasonable, which makes the experience even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a combination of flavour and authenticity.

I've eaten tuhafije. That's an interesting dessert. In Türkiye, a similar one with quince is made and I do love it indeed. Tuhafije is also ok, but I guess I'll not try again. The cream on the top was industrial btw. This might have negatively affected the taste. The staff was friendly.

The café is located in the heart of Sarajevo's Old Town. It serves delicious desserts, drinks, and ice cream. I particularly liked the traditional Bosnian coffee, trilece, and lemonade. I recommend this place.

Went here in the morning and got a nice table under the shed. We tried the local dessert Tufahija and traditional Bosnian coffee — both were delicious. Service was very friendly, and the big plus: they accept card payments, which is more often the exception than the rule in Sarajevo.
Petia T — Google review
The place has a lot of selection but I chose only one cake and was not that tasty. It is was a full of cream and far away from the cack taste. But the place is located in the middle of the center and has a lot of variety..

Palma is a charming cafe in Sarajevo that offers incredibly delicious food with a wide variety of options, including mouthwatering desserts. The service is friendly and attentive, creating a welcoming and well-cared-for atmosphere. The cozy and romantic ambiance adds to the overall experience, making it a must-visit for anyone in Sarajevo. With old-timey decor and live piano music, it's consistently one of the best places to enjoy sweets in the city.
The Palma is great. They have a large selection of different cakes which are all excellent (I've tried almost all of them). In summer there is an outdoor seating garden and a beautiful fountain. Inside the cafe, someone plays the piano from time to time, which suits the atmosphere of the place very well. An absolute recommendation for dessert or if you're just in the mood for cake 10/10

A beautifully decorated pastry shop located near the football stadium with an excellent selection of desserts and refreshing drinks offered and served by top-notch waiters. ❤️
Edin H — Google review
For generations, the people of Sarajevo have found their way to Palma – not just for the coffee, but for the feeling of belonging. Tucked away in the heart of the city, this patisserie has become a meeting place where old friends reconnect, families celebrate, and passersby pause for a moment of sweetness. The aroma of freshly brewed Bosnian coffee mingles with the scent of cakes that have been perfected through decades of craftsmanship. Each slice, whether a classic creamy layer cake or a seasonal specialty, carries with it a story of tradition, care, and timeless taste. What makes Palma unique is not only its desserts but also its atmosphere – a space where generations have created memories. Students who once came for a quick pastry after class now return with their children and grandchildren, keeping alive the ritual of sitting down at a familiar table, ordering their favorite cake, and savoring the comfort of continuity. In Sarajevo, cafés and patisseries are part of everyday life, but Palma has a soul of its own – a quiet witness to laughter, conversations, and countless cups of coffee shared across decades. It remains one of the city’s sweetest symbols, a place where tradition meets the joy of the present moment.

Visited Palma several times during my stay in Sarajevo. This dessert parlor offers a more local, off-the-beaten-path experience cause it's far from Baščaršija and rather serves as a neighborhood spot. Wonderful service and friendly attentive staff. Their desserts are exceptional! There are some classics across the former Yugoslavia that you won't find anywhere else (e.g., Reforma or Bajadera cakes). You can basically order anything on the menu because it will always be the right choice.

Great selection of cakes. Staff made efforts to help me in english. Nice place to chill from heat and hustle of square.

Nice cafe with delicious cakes and traditional Bosnian coffee. Staff were very nice and quick to take our order even when it was busy.

Tasteless food. I found a fly in my ice cream and the waitress kept telling us she couldn’t make half the items on the menu that we requested. Poor service, not welcoming. Like many places in Sarajevo insist on paying in cash. Stay clear!

Been there 4 times. Really good coffee and cake. Staff is nice and quick to serve. The atmosphere is good

Unfortunately, my experience at this pastry shop was disappointing. The dishes we received were dirty – the plates and spoons had visible food residue and stains, which raises serious concerns about hygiene. In a place that serves desserts and drinks, cleanliness should be a top priority. I hope the management takes this issue seriously and improves their standards, because the location and selection have potential, but hygiene is essential.

Staff are very rude. Seems very racist and didn't serve us even when we stood right in front of the counter. They totally ignored us and there was 4 of us. The first time the staff pushed past us the second time totally ignored us even when we were standing in front of the counter.
