The chef reacted negatively to the request for no raw food, scowling and stating he could only "try." When we requested a longer sear on the first piece of sushi, the chef's frustration was evident. He reluctantly prepared another piece, searing it longer but presenting it in a dismissive manner, which felt unprofessional. **Food Quality:** The food itself was disappointing. Some fish pieces had tendons, which is typically unacceptable at this level of dining. Additionally, the appearance of the fish varied significantly; some pieces were pale, while others were shiny, indicating inconsistent quality. The rice was neither soft nor sticky, which is crucial for a proper sushi experience. **Conclusion:** Overall, I cannot recommend this restaurant for an enjoyable omakase meal. There are better options available that would offer a more satisfying experience. Save your reservation for a restaurant that truly honors the Michelin standard.

We had an excellent time at Sushidokoro Kurosugi. It was our first omakase experience and the food was delicious, fresh and unique. The chef and staff did a great job communicating despite the language barrier and they had a book with information about what we were eating. The sea urchin with eggplant was as well as the torched fatty tuna were amazing.

We chose this sushi restaurant because we read good reviews, so we took the risk to pay full upfront to reserve their highest grade (¥11k) lunch set. The set comes w lesser pieces of sushi, which we expect they would serve better and more special sushi. However, the type of sushi served were really very average, I wonder what kind of ingredients they would serve for the cheaper set. The chef even missed out the maki (it was just cucumber maki), which the waitress kindly reminded him. The restaurant was empty throughout our whole meal on a Fri afternoon. We wonder if we were given such kind of service and quality because we are tourists?

We booked via hotel concierge and we didn’t get a choice in the dinner menu. While the other 6 local guests were served by the main chef, we were seated with two other foreign tourists and were served by the apprentice chef. He was kind enough to take out a booklet each time after he prepares the sushi to show us the name of the fish that we were getting. There were many appetisers and nigiris, but unfortunately none of them were very memorable. It’s only been 2 months since the visit and all I remember was that there were many eel dishes. If you are a tourist and don’t have many meals in Osaka, there are many better alternatives at 25000 yen.

This place shows why tabelog is considered the gold standard (3.6 here). Michelin starred but I am certain there are others that deserve the star more. Not too bad price though!

Food were alright and standard but price is so cheap. It is only ¥120 for a plate and they applied the same price for almost of all dishes.
