The 45 best sushi restaurants and sushi bars in Lima Region

After being on the waiting list for a while, we decided to try our luck as a walk in customer. We were so fortunate that there was a slot and we were able to have an early dinner. As the 2025 number one restaurant in the world, we had high expectations. The staff were professional, friendly and explained clearly how we should eat each dish to get the best culinary experience. Each dish gave an amazing taste that is hard to describe and it is no wonder that this is the top restaurant in the world. All dishes were amazing, but my favourite was the scallop with urchin.

We visited the restaurant for the Maido Experience after it got given the #1 Restaurant in the World Award and were not disappointed at all. It was a truly unique experience from the moment we walked in until we left, from the staff greeting until the last goodbye. The restaurant is very tastefully decorated, with exquisite table setting and plates. The dining experience was phenomenal, with 14 different wonderful bites to try, each one with an amazing taste, texture, presentation, combination of flavours and of course a wonderful introduction by our waiter. It took us about 2 hours to go through each dish, with the perfect timing in between dishes for you to eat, savour, take in, enjoy and discuss with your friends. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and can’t wait to come back, next time maybe to focus on a dish or two. We consider ourselves very fortunate for having the opportunity to experience something like this. Thank you Misha for making it possible. ❤️

The food is good, but the storytelling is missing and the service mostly just lists the ingredients. The atmosphere is pleasant, the Nikkei–Peruvian fusion is impressive, but overall the experience felt more like casual dining.”

I’ve had really high expectations for Maido, as it was supposed to be one of the peaks of my trip to Peru. However, I left rather dissapointed. There was nothing wrong about the food, it was OK, but nothing special. Had better food many times. Don’t believe it was worth the price or the hype.

Such a fun and tasty dinner! The experience was great.. each course was delicious, a little adventurous, and my favorite part was the use of texture in every dish!! They are booked constantly so their reservations are strict and they should be! Timing of dishes was great and the sake selection is good.

How is this number one in the world? Did these people lose their taste buds in 2025? The meal started out okay but nothing spectacular. Could easily name 100 restaurants that were better than Maido that I’ve eaten at all over the world. They tried to copy Central in bringing in the raw ingredients to the table, but it’s a totally different vibe. The sushi rice was so poorly cooked, even just touching it with the chopstick I could tell it wasn’t right. It was hard and starchy… how can you mess up something so essential in Japanese cuisine? The glass noodles were all stuck together and gummy. And the dessert was just atrocious… chorizo flavored ice cream with a soup of lemongrass flavored soy milk. I’m sorry but it made me want to throw up. Such a disappointment all around.

Great decorations. Food presentation is amazing. However, for me, the taste is a bit overpowering, especially the citrus taste. For someone who loves Japanese food, the taste did not amaze me, but the presentation is great.

Delicious food, mild food poisoning. Probably a case of Anisakis. Party of 7, 6 of us were affected. We ate late in the afternoon, they said the kitchen was closing so place last orders, meaning the fish had been sitting there since the start of lunch maybe, so I suggest going early in the day as opposed to later after opening.

Literally 5 minutes walking distance from my office and my go to place for sushi at least once a week for lunch. The staff is courteous and the food is very good. The place itself is a bit small compared to other Edo's but it has it's charm.

Came on a Saturday night without reservations and was seated at the bar. Please make sure to have a reservation as they tend to get booked and busy. We had the most amazing dinner. All of the sushi was fresh and flavorful. There wasn’t a dish we didn’t enjoy. So much that we got seconds of each. It is well priced with the quality you are getting. The drinks were also very unique and they come with great presentation. Our server was busy but still attentive. Just wished we had more time to eat and take picture of the food but we were to engulfed in how good the food was!

I had three dishes and a very unique matcha sake cocktail. My favorite one is the scallop tiradito! The main course (grilled octopus in cheesy truffle sauce) was too heavy to my liking. But overall it’s a wonderful nikkei experience

First stop in Lima had to be Nikkei, that perfect Peruvian-Japanese fusion everyone kept recommending. We went to Osaka, and the menu was full of temptations. (I officially gave ceviche a break today after eating it basically every meal in Peru 😂). The fish? Super fresh. The grilled meat? Perfect. The ramen? A little off, but hey, it’s not a ramen shop so I’ll forgive them. Dessert was solid too. But the real MVP? A wild twist on paella that swaps rice for ramen noodles. Absolute genius. 🤯👏

This is one of the best restaurants in Lima and the best Japanese-Peruvian (Nikkei) i Lima I know. Everything from the service, presentation to food, drinks and dessert was excellent. The ballanced combination of tastes with accent on great quality and innovative methods keeps you without the breath. It is price-y and posh, but that's exactly for concrete audience that expects certain level and it is willing to pay for it. Reservation is highly recommended. 5 out of 5.

Osaka is a place that makes a strong first impression. It’s visually impressive—definitely the spot you pick when you want a meal to feel like a real occasion. The food here is a mixed bag, but the peaks are seriously high. We tried the Tumbo Shrimp, which was fine, no complaints there, but the real showstoppers were the cold appetizers. The Ceviches and Tiraditos were truly exceptional—easily the highlight of the menu. And if you’re a sushi person, you have to hit the Inca Sushi; it was ridiculously good. Beyond the food, they nail the drinks. I had the Negroni, and the presentation was super theatrical; they really put on a show. Crucially, the drink itself was perfectly crafted—not just for looks. I was also pleasantly surprised by how many good vegetarian options they offered; my wife was genuinely pleased, which isn't always the case. Overall, it’s a solid choice for a night out. The ambiance and the standout dishes—like those ceviches and the Inca roll—make it a great place to gather with friends or celebrate.

Loved the food but service was pretty sub par. The people sitting around me and I all had to wait ages for waiters to pay attention to us. That being said, the Kani tacos were to die for. The makimono was good but didn’t blow me away. Didn’t have a drink but the cocktail menu was very enticing as well. Wish I could’ve tried more of both the food and the drink menu! Paid $25 so it was overall so worth it.

Went there last night to celebrate my last night in peru and my partners birthday. It was easily the best meal we had in the country and I wish we discovered it sooner!! The service was spectacular, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was great. We tried several different dishes to share, some sake, and a cocktail each. I had the citrus cocktail (i can't remember the exact name) and recommend that.

Great atmosphere. Food did not convince me. Had take away sushi and duck-dumplings. The dumplings were ready long before the Sushi and therefore cold when i arrived home & sticking to their container. Even though the taste of the dumplings was good, i bit on something hard whilst eating the second dumpling. Upon close inspection, i am fairly certain i had found a bone (finding marrow upon braking the little "stick") as a result, losing appetite for the other ones. I am a bit shocked by such a slip up, as i can not imagine it being part of the official ingredients. While not being a big fan of the makoto rolls, it may come down to taste & disliking cooked fish in sushi. Rest was good, so i decided not to go lower than 3 stars. Won't be coming back, though.

We had a wonderful meal here at Makoto. Neither my mother or her husband eat sushi but were able to find delicious entrees. I had 2 different rolls, both of which were delightful. Bruce provided excellent service! And came out to sing happy birthday to me. Highly recommend!

High end sushi bar that serves fresh well made sushi, poke, makis and others. Menu included in review . The service was punctual and professional. The plates well made flavorful with their own decorations. Enjoyed every bite and have no complaints. You can see the chefs making the food when they do so it’s cool of course

Sushi was nice but not the best. To much rice in sushi. Cocktails was not good at all. Sea weed salad was nit authentic. Crab sushi didnt met my expectations. Very good Miso soup! I really loved it!

2nd and last time here. There was no salmon, and no beverage option (ordered water). It was a Saturday so it's odd that they don't have fish. Poor service, changed my order, and the server forgot 2 orders of makis. More than 1 hour later my food is still missing. And there's an ant with my order. Cool.

I don't think there's really that much choice here. It's called Sushi POP, but what happened to all the sushi? There are only like 3 options for traditional nigiri.

We ordered the combination of 8 maki flavours and really enjoyed our experience! Different flavours than you might get at a traditional sushi place but for us that’s what made it so much better. For anyone unsure about the one with beef, try it! It was delicious! Even though we speak a little bit of Spanish they went out of their way and had an English menu and served us in English. Inside is nicely decorated as well!

We got the mix of 8 makis. The food looks aesthetically good, the taste is on the sour side but still enjoyable. But the rice is too hard and the deep fried breading is too thick. Seafood is pretty fresh tho, and our waitress is very friendly and speaks good english

Mitsuharu Tsumura is better known because of Maido, but this is its sister creation. Japanese sushi with peruvian tones, in the middle of Miraflores, makes this place a really great escape for whenever fish -or japanese food- is all you have on your mind. Decorated with popping colors, but intimately lit table per table, this is a perfect place not only to have food, but also to share a couple of drinks from their refreshing and well assorted bar. It's also convenient coming in groups, since there's combos that are for the ones who want to try most of the menu.

We tried the poke bowl with tuna (PEN25) which was very good and the pisco sour both with lemon and passion fruit which was maybe one of the best we had so far in Peru. The best really was meeting José, who is a very captivating host for the house.

The food is delicious, there is no complain, it got honest price, and excellent location. What bothered me was the smell of the place, and they should consider doing some renovation, since it’s looking a bit beat up. If you don’t mind that, good place to go.

Shared a bunch of rolls with a group of 6 friends and it was pretty good. I always like when they food comes out displayed on a big boat. The frozen lemonade was just ok because it was mostly ice.

Super tasty Japanese and fusion food here!!! The service was great and there was a huge selection of food and drinks. I ate a poké bowl that was beautiful, delicious, and filling! Really top quality ingredients. Also, the place is clean and decorated well. Highly recommend! One of my favorite meals during our time in Lima.

God I love Sushi, and Magma did it right! I got 2 standard rolls and 1 special roll. All fairly priced for the great taste and sexy atmosphere they provide. It's in such a great location of Mira Flores which we could walk to in less than 4 minutes. My girlfriend got the Poke Bowl and has been back 3 times since to handle that craving. Thank you Magma!

Smallest nigiri I have ever had, yet much more expensive than Edo. The ramen was kinda different to normal ramen. It was more like bacon instead of ramen-style pork.

Ordered takeout from here and my boyfriend and I are both pretty disappointed. This is not real sushi and many of the rolls taste pretty much the same with a different sauce. Would not recommend this place and would not order again considering Peru is supposed to have amazing sushi.

Nice place to eat all you can eat sushi. If you have a large stomach you can give them a run for their money. The individual sushi rolls are cut thinner so that's kind of a clever way to balance the all you can eat aspect.

All you can eat (makis/rolls) everyday Monday to Sunday. The price for all you can eat is around 45 soles on weekdays and 55 on weekends. High quality and includes some beverage. They also have a regular menu. Service is excellent. There is valet parking and an exclusive garage. If you go on large groups, plan ahead and make a reservation.

Tried Barra libre (all you can eat) the rolls are really not rolls by taste I mean, completely lost touch of japanese kitchen, only looks like))), fish wasn't fresh, California roll were served with smoked salmon (for those who understand) friendly personal, good kindly service, I am not recommending this place if you want to taste good quality japanese kitchen!

Located in San Isidro, the restaurant were able to get me a table for lunch without prior reservation. The service was attentive and friendly, explaining each dish served. The nigiri and sashimi, along with the scallop ceviche was excellent. The choice of dishes and drinks were very good. The atmosphere felt relaxed. t's a lovely place to go for a relaxing meal, solo or with friends.

Some of the best sushi I’ve ever had in my life vs many cities in the US. Great place to share sushi while on vacation with family. The nigiri changed my life and I had to order more. Wait staff was incredible and so attentive.

The Karedon and Kaimeshi were extremely salty. Other dishes were ok. The service we received was also quite bad unfortunately - despite having many servers around and not being a busy time, we can’t seem to get water refilled and plates removed/replaced. Also the welcome chanting from the kitchen when guests enter the restaurant is kind of disturbing and startling. Overall our worst dining experience in Lima :(

We enjoyed a wonderful meal at Shizen. I am vegan and was offered delicious and creative choices in keeping with the Japanese Peruvian fusion that makes Shizen so special. My favorite was the avocado ceviche with a zarandaja purée.

Shizen was a spectacular meal with top tier Nikkei. We ordered the Sashimi with salmon and Chita, along with Tartar Maki and nigiri. Our server, Dey, was so helpful with accommodating gluten free options! Shizen is celiac friendly so it’s a must visit when you’re in Lima!

Unfortunately, very average sushi here. The fish in sashimi form is mostly watery and tasteless, and makis tend to swim in huge amounts of sauses that do not add much to the experience.

All excellent, but when paying with a gift card the charging of the card should be smooth. The cashier needed to validate the card before ordering and wanted to take the order at the cashier instead at the table. My whole family was at the table.

There was no texture in the maki's just all mush. No crispy seaweed, the fried makis were horrible, and no real difference in flavors. We were going for the all-you-can-eat but I couldn't eat more than one plate because the food wasn't good. I asked to just pay for one plate, they didn't even bother dismounting or giving me compensation. Had to pay for everything normal price. Bad service won't ever go there again

This Restaurant is a fraud! They offer all-you-can-eat and let you wait for 2 hours for 3 Maki plates. For the next Maki plates you have to wait again. After 3 hours we had to leave hungry and they made us pay a different price which was a lot more than what we acutaly had/ate. I won't come again and advise no one to visit this place

Nice and delicate Nikkei food but probably too light for Latin diners like us, so you better ask for some rice to accompany your sushis and do not forget to have hot green tea. If you really want to be satisfied, think about spending 40 to 50 soles (15 dollars)

Although it looks like a nice place, the food is just not good - unprofessional sushi (not tight enough, too thin, not tasty) the tampura wasnt crispy at all, and had no flavor. Also the protions are small. The waiter kept forgeting stuff, and the orders didnt came togther.

Such good rolls are amazing The Goyza has these mushrooms that are mixed with in the bowl....omg so delicious. We needed a translator for the menu luckily we were next two these awesome young men who are fluent in English so they helped out a lot. We will definitely go back.

The service was great. The sushi was good. The best part of our meal was the Yakitori and it wasn’t on the menu. We ordered the tempura maki and the danny rock n roll. Good - The food. I ordered the California roll, mozzarella rolland another roll I forget. It had avocado and tempura shrimp. As far as taste goes, all were great. I asked for no cream cheese (Philadelphia) because I don’t like it and they accommodated me. 25 soles for 15 pieces and a drink. Good deal. Bad - The pieces of sushi are really small compared to the United States, you might want to order more if you’re hungry, I thought 15 was going to be a lot but it really wasn’t, as you can see on the picture. I want to give this place the benefit of the doubt because they are clearly understaffed/unprepared for their happy hour deals (1 server and 1 chef when every table was full), but we were continually disappointed. Although there were great prices for the sushi, drinks are overpriced. For some reason, sushi places in Lima don't seem to give wasabi/ginger with the rolls. After the server said she'd bring us some, she never returned to our table and didn't mention it when we paid our bill (for which we had to wait at the counter since she didn't bring it to us within 20 minutes of finishing our food). We were going to order another roll, but didn't bother when we couldn't get her attention for a while. It felt like she was ignoring tables, as several tables were constantly trying to get her attention and getting frustrated. When we were paying, I noticed those tables that had finished and left hadn't been bussed, but the server didn't seem in any hurry to clean them and it was only halfway through their happy hour special. I don't blame her feeling tired and overwhelmed by the crowd, but their customer service suffers and they are not getting as many customers as they could if they had a second server to get customers in and out faster. Besides the service, though, I was completely underwhelmed by the sushi itself. We ordered 4 different veggie rolls, which each had several ingredients that should have made them unique and flavorful. But for some reason, they all tasted bland. The only flavor that stuck out to me was cream cheese, which isn't really the flavor I want to take away from a sushi dinner.

Very nice, small restaurant with excellent service. The food was good, the Asian coffee wings were nicely cooked with a caramel like sauce, the purple samurai rolls were a little tasteless apart from a sweet and creamy sauce but I loved the Dragon balls, beautifully creamy croquettes. Wow wow wow I came here with our family and we love it!! The food recommendation was excelent. We order the combo and then the appetizers were also great!! Highly recommend it. The staff was really helpful in helping me choose the best plates.

I came in with fairly low expectations, especially after a disappointing experience at a fancier sushi spot like Matsuei — but I was very pleasantly surprised. The traditional sushi offerings (nigiri and sashimi) were superb: the rice was perfectly cooked and seasoned, the fish was fresh, and the portions and prices were more than reasonable. They also provide an oshibori (a moist towel to clean your hands), which was a thoughtful nod to traditional sushi etiquette — though it would’ve been even nicer if it were warm. Service was friendly and down-to-earth, without any of the snobbery you sometimes encounter at upscale sushi places. I also tried the seafood hot plate, which was decent but not especially memorable. Stick to the sushi — you won’t be disappointed.

The heaviness of cream cheese diminishes and undermine the delicate flavors of the restaurant if the ingredients. The pizza sushi is amazing!!! Truly! First time trying raw sushi and it was so fresh. Highly recommend. No reservation required. Do not get the string fried rice-not pictured. It was sweet and tasted like Spanish rice-disappointing being that it was an Asian restaurant.

We arrived at 7 with no reservation and we’re put in a corner of an empty restaurant- it soon filled up - but it was soooooooo noisy. There is loud music and it doesn’t help that there is nothing to muffle ambient noise. The food is good but not great for the price - the sushi rice is not quite right texture. The waitress had to be reminded 3 times about water I ordered and I had to ask twice for a glass - I don’t think a staff member smiled at any point - it was very officious and brisk but not at all warm and welcoming. I left with a sore throat having to speak so loud to be heard over the background noise. Expensive for what feels like a canteen vibe.

Delicious!!! All the plates were really good, the sea shells are a must if you come, try the katayaki sautéed tenderloin and the Mount Fuji for dessert, they were absolutely amazing. This sushi restaurant is well known for their ‘all you can eat’ promotions. They've more than 20 kinds of maki rolls (though not all of them were available when I went) and the ones that I tried were delicious. On the other hand, the attention wasn't as good as I expected. It took some time to get me noticed by the waiter and he was not as friendly as I've seen in other sushi restaurants.

Big spacious place, a reasonably priced all-you-can-eat that includes juice, soda, water or beer as refreshments and a large selection of makis with a sizeable vegetarian spread. The only downside is how out of the way it is from the main city avenues, as I prefer public transportation to get around. But, besides that I think it's a great place to go with a group of friends.

We were very excited to try the sushi here. We went for a late lunch and we're surprised at the doors were locked upon arrival. Luckily somebody opened them up because we were starving. We decided to order the premium sushi pack (boat) for four which was an assortment of assortment of nigiri and maki (rolls). The tuna here was maybe the best I've ever had but all the other cuts of fish and the rolls were a bit average.

This is the best Japanese restaurant in Mira Flores in my opinion. One of the best salmon sashimi I have ever tasted in my life, and the ramen was also top notch. I've traveled to Japan 3 times, so I know what I'm talking about. A must try if you're in the area!

Extremely mediocre sushi with lackluster service. I ordered the moriawase — the chef’s choice of 16 pieces of nigiri — and while the fish was fresh, the rice completely ruined the experience. Each piece was overstuffed with rice that felt straight out of an “all you can eat” sushi buffet in the U.S.: overly vinegared, overcooked, and packed into a dense, sticky clump. The texture was more like Southeast Asian sticky rice — heavy and gummy — rather than the light, airy, subtly sweet-and-sour sushi rice that forms the foundation of great nigiri. Because yes, great sushi is fundamentally about the rice — not just the fish. Any sushi chef will tell you that. I get that this isn’t Japan, and I don’t expect the chefs here to have undergone years of “rice apprenticeship”. But I did expect something better than gas station/shopping mall sushi, especially since the sushi selections had no real “fusion” angle to fall back on as an excuse for lack of authenticity. I did try one fusion dish — the udon carbonara — which was decent, but forgettable. It was also laughably small for a main dish, more like a tapas portion. The ambiance is upscale and refined, but the energy is dead. The staff didn’t seem like they wanted to be there. They wore Japanese samue robes and tossed around phrases like “irasshai” and “hai,” which just felt forced and cringey. So what is this place trying to be — a traditional sushi-ya or a modern fusion spot? It doesn’t commit to either, and in the end, it misses the mark on both.

The sushi here is excellent, but the service left a lot to be desired and significantly detracted from the experience. We had reserved for the bar area on Friday, Sept 19, since the rest of the restaurant was said to be fully booked. Upon arrival, we were seated in the bar area, which was clearly inferior to both the main dining space and the sushi bar itself. What was frustrating is that walk-ins without reservations were seated at better tables and even at the bar. When we asked our waitress about moving, she dismissed us quickly, insisting nothing was available, even though the bar was half empty. Only after my girlfriend approached a different staff member were we immediately offered a much better table in the main dining area. Our waitress never apologized until the very end, when the bill (and her tip) was on the table. This kind of attitude is unacceptable for a restaurant that positions itself as high-end. If you’re charging premium prices, the service should reflect that, not leave paying guests feeling ignored or misled. To be fair, other staff members were excellent: the hostess, for instance, noticed a fishbone in our sushi and replaced the plate without hesitation, even though we had already eaten half. The sushi itself is of very high quality. But ultimately, a fine restaurant is not just about food: it’s also about hospitality.

I was looking forward to this place since I heard this is where the known Acevichado roll was created. We had a reservation and we were 4 people. We got some of the sashimi recommended by the server and they were good, I think just one blew our mind. Then we tried the acevichado roll but it was ok, the sauce was good but the roll itself was too thick. Also, we got the Matsuei roll and we enjoyed that one. We ordered another roll recommended by the server, which was the Tartar, and that one was good too. The rolls are good size. The food was all right, the only thing that bothered me a little was that the server recommendations were pretty expensive. We don’t live here so for dollars is fine but for someone coming from some other places in South America, it can get pretty pricey, plus he was kind of pushy. Also, they have an open kitchen so you will end up smelling like food.

I went to this place over 3 years ago several times during the pandemic and years before and it was under different ownership and actually I preferred it more then. It's a personal preference I suppose I just like the layout more before. The sashimi for example, if you order two different kinds like I did (tuna and salmon) they came on the same board here separately like two different entrees and the pieces are much bigger they could be cut either for the individual or to share. Send many use chopsticks you need to order a knife to cut it. The raw fish came with one that was not real cold and the other one came out like it just been frozen. The inconsistencies were a turn-off for me. Now the positives I ordered one of the few higher protein. Low carbohydrate dishes without added sugar with mixed vegetables and pieces of white fish cut into it. I recalled something very similar under the prior owners and I really liked it! It was an ample portion and I ended up taking half of it home which I enjoyed that evening. Service was friendly but the soy sauce was forgotten and there never seems to be enough napkins 😂. Place is nice. We asked for Ebi Tempura, Soba y Tokotsu Ramen. Ebi Tempura and Soba were really nice (7/10) But Tonkutsu Ramen was not hot and when we asked why it is like this, they take the plate and give it back same plate after 2 minutes. So just they put to the microwave!!!!! :( This not the way to offer this type of Ramen.

The combo of one noodle soup (ramen, soba or udon) + 6 rolls of Florida rolls (avocado + salmon) costs S. 29 is a very good deal, available all day. I tried three types of noodles and like Udon with the prawn tempura the most. Recommended for who has a crave for an Asian noodle soup.

The food is actually good but the service was not great. Dishes took about 45 minutes to get and my meal came 30 minutes before my girlfriend's sushi roll. This was not acceptable. They said the delay was due to having to fill a big take out order; there really couldnt be any other excuse since the restaurant was half empty. It has been hard for me to find Japanese sushi and sashimi. Most of the sushi restaurants in Peru are a fusion (nikei), with overly sweet eel sauces and alike. Makoto remains true to the Japanese sushi, and offers if you want to try, a few fusion pieces. The prices are moderate for peruvian standard, but if you are in the mood for sushi (makis), I recommend to try Makoto over Edo or Mr. Sushi.

The ordering was kind of complicated, because some of it was Japanese words, some Spanish like they would use the Japanese word for fried shrimp which makes ordering a bit complicated. They could mark the sweet maki on the menu as well. Everyone seemed to be a little confused on the prices and what they were making, there was no drink menu for example. But I got huge chunks of sashimi which I was happy about. The Chef's made whatever in the end for my maki though. 🫠

I love Yume on Benavides, so I decided to come by this new place they opened on Miraflores. It’s a lot smaller than the original but nicely done. The food was good but I still feel like the OG Yume on Benavides takes this one. If you are in Miraflores by all means drop by this place, and you’ll enjoy it. Our favorites were the crispy rice with salmon tartare on top (that’s how I would describe it). And the crunchy tuna taco. I usually order nigiris and sashimi but on this trip I wanted to try the typical or more commercial items (the did not disappoint at all).

The menu was very extensive but we ordered the basics as that just shows the freshness and detail of the chef. They had only 3 types of fish so we stuck with the salmon and avocado makis. The rolls were standard in both size, taste and flavor. I would’ve liked a bit more of the Japanese vinegar flavor in the rice. We also ordered the gyoza, one pan friend and the other deep fried. I’d recommend these as a side order if you’re going with hungry kids as these were the first cooked food to come out. (Of course the sushi maki came out fastest). We also ordered the gyudon which took the longest time to be served, not sure why. Presentation was good and it was quite tasty, I’d also recommend ordering this as a filler although you have to ask them for this first or you’ll end up waiting more than 30 mins for it like us). The kids were most disappointed that there was no miso soup (an important accompaniment to sushi and any Japanese food usually) and the deduction on one star for the service is because the ladies seemed slow to understand our needs. We had to ask for cups for water, ask for spoons when the rice came etc. They seemed reluctant to bring it out for guest use, maybe an instruction from the boss… I saw that a few diners ordered the seared sushi which might be the thing to try if there is a next time. Restaurant environment is basic and we got a table by the window which is nice, with a clean toilet which is very good. So 5 stars for that.
