Cake shop
Pasticceria Maria Grammatico is a renowned pastry shop in Sicily, founded by the eponymous Maria who learned her craft as a baker during her time as a cloistered nun. The shop, which has been thriving for over half a century, offers an array of delectable treats such as cassatelle, lingue di suocera, genovesi, fruit tarts, and cannoli.
Our tour of Sicily and the salt flats stopped here for a dessert tasting. Staff was very pleasant and the treats were delicious
Pamela P — Google review
Stopped by Maria Grammatico’s pastry shop in the morning while walking around Erice. It’s a small, quiet place with outdoor seating and a nice view — perfect for a cappuccino ☕ and something sweet This is a well-known bakery that’s been around since the 1960s, when Maria started it after learning how to make traditional Sicilian pastries from nuns I had a cassatina, a slice of ricotta cake, and a few small sweets. All were good, though a bit too sweet for my taste — but that’s typical of Sicilian desserts 😅. I noticed the place gets quite busy later in the day, with people lining up and buying pastries to take home as gifts A lovely local spot that’s definitely worth trying if you’re in Erice 💛.
NGAN P — Google review
Simply the best sweets in Sicily. Whatever you will pick you will be shocked by it's taste! Prices are OK, usually there is a line to get them but it's totally worth unless it goes out the shop which means like 1h + of wait. But if you got time do it, it's worth. Genovese is the main sweet here, but go ahead and try each one.
& R — Google review
Delicious pastries and coffee. Beautiful seating in an atrium garden. Tree provides shade. Pricing doesn't hurt your wallet. Staff helped me pick pastries. I give this place an autistic stamp of approval.
Kétis K — Google review
The desserts here were amazing – the pastries were still warm and incredibly tasty. However, I was quite surprised that the cappuccino was served in a plastic cup. I’ve never seen hot coffee like that before, and unfortunately, it was more like warm milk without any foam. A great place for sweets, but the coffee experience needs improvement.
Lina — Google review
Erice's best known and most Traditional Sicilian pastry shop with the personality of its founder Maria Grammatico following the convent recipes she learned while young when being raised at a Franciscan convent in Erice and expanded with new findings. Well known all over the world. The book she published, ' Bitter almonds' telling her memories and explaining her main recipes has become a classic, I bought the original version in English at the pastry shop, they also offer a translated Italian version. Very busy in season, but always a great place to enjoy Sicilian pastries with authentic local ingredients and a distinct personal touch, this shops helps to better understand the Sicilian universe of pastries and sweets with Greek, Roman, Byzantine, Norman, Arab, Spanish, especially from the convents and Swiss influences in what has come today a unique pastry culture in the world
Guillermo I — Google review
Great option for pastry while in Erice. We were overwhelmed when we came in. It’s small and there are so many options, but we sat in the garden and our server came by and helped us pick out some things to try. Very cute and tasty!
Cameron L — Google review
Recommended by a local to come here for Maria’s famous genovesi - 2 minutes of pure heaven as I devoured this warm, buttery biscuit filled with vanilla cream custard! Wish I had the language to let them know how much I enjoyed this in Italian 🇮🇹

Il Tortellino, located in Via G.B. Fardella, is a popular spot to purchase traditional Sicilian pasta like busiate. The place is known for its reasonable prices and friendly staff, attracting both locals and tourists alike. Additionally, visitors can indulge in delightful pastries and enjoy excellent coffee while experiencing the authentic flavors of Sicily.
As someone who is gluten free, this was definitely worth the 20 mins all from where we were staying! The staff were brilliant- the guy made especially for me Aranchine just for me as they had gf veggie ones and veal ones which is not a meat I eat… so I had cheese & ham. Also the gf cannoli with pistachio was delicious! My partner had a ham & cheese pie with a genovese for dessert - he is not gf and these were not gf, and he enjoyed them with he said the coffee was good too so had another & I enjoyed 2 fresh orange juices. Cost €22 for both of us - fab value!
Helen V — Google review
The gluten-free place next door only had a few biscuits at lunchtime. We saw that it was an AIC certified place, so we tried it. We ordered a gluten-free mini pizza, cannoli and coffee. It was average, but gluten free.
Edit A — Google review
Very tasty arancine that they freshly fried for us. They had spinach, ragu and ham and cheese as filling. Also tried some deserts, which were all very good, as well as the cassata. Very nice service. And clean toilets!
Pere N — Google review
Tried cassata and the strawberry cheesecake. They were both amazing! so I bought more appetisers and I was not disappointed 😊 the prices are very reasonable, saw lots of locals came in as well :) staff were very friendly 💖

Historic and renowned gastronomy and pastry shop in Trapani, which also offers on-site dining. Excellent assortment of local specialty products in gluten-free versions, from arancine to fresh pasta, including cannoli. Expensive.
Ignazio A — Google review
We had two of our best meals here. A hopping local spot for an easy and delicious lunch or early dinner. And some of the best pastries in all of Sicily.
Catherine L — Google review
The desserts are good, but the cooked meals are not particularly fresh and are reheated in the microwave. The attitude of the staff is unacceptable, they ignore customers who don't speak Italian, even when they have a number.

Antica Pasticceria Colicchia is a renowned pastry shop located in the heart of Trapani, offering a variety of Sicilian specialties such as cassate, cannoli, and granita. Situated near the Clock Tower in the Old City, this charming cafe has preserved its authenticity for over four decades. Visitors rave about the delectable pastries, particularly the cannoli and marzipan fruit.
Antica Pasticceria COLICCHIA is a sheer gem in the centre of Trapani. They still do things the good old school way, with lots of love and care and pristine ingredients. Granite and cannoli are their highlights, but really each piece of pastry is beyond worthy. My favorite was the genovese with the orange cream. Don't miss this place when you're there! You'll miss it when you have left Trapani.
Nicola M — Google review
I really wanted to love this place, but unfortunately, the experience just wasn’t welcoming. The granita is undeniably excellent, easily the highlight, but the coffee I had was quite weak and underwhelming. What stood out even more, though, was the inconsistent pricing. I was charged three different amounts for granita on three separate visits, which left a bad impression. Consistency matters, especially when it comes to pricing. More disappointing was the atmosphere. While the women working there were relatively polite, the younger male staff made the environment feel uninviting. It doesn’t take much to offer a warm greeting or a bit of courtesy, and sadly, that was missing here. There are definitely friendlier spots nearby, and for me, that’s just as important as good food or drink. I’d rather take my business somewhere I feel welcomed.
S P — Google review
Avoid. Was charged different amounts on multiple separate occasions. The old lady at the front is very grumpy and unwelcoming. Heavily overpriced. Was charged €9 for 2 granitas but a few days later was charged €10 for the same 2 granitas when they assumed we were tourists. We are not. The quality also dropped incredibly and the time where they charged us more, I found a huge icy lump (In the picture attached). The granita was also fairly diluted. After also unfairly charging us more however, the lady also attempted to gaslight us when I noticed the difference, claiming we had bought different granitas, although they were the same type. We used to come here all the time but unfortunately the experience has been ruined. Dont come here, the customer service is unsatisfactory and the quality is rolling off the hill. Update: Now included in the photo are the two receipts. As you can see, the first receipt has €9 but the second receipt was purposely not itemized and cost €10, for the same order. Unacceptable.
Theo L — Google review
The best granita in Sicily! My 2nd time in Trapani and on the first night back I came straight here after dinner. The prickly pear one tastes like actual prickly pears! Open until rather late. Tip - the place is headed by the family matron who does not want to do anything with card payments. Better pay the 3.5 eur in cash. But that is a small inconvenience for me if the product is so good.
Madara V — Google review
Original and antica! Coffee is the best and it has amazing cannoli. If you’re looking for something traditional and not touristy, this is the place
Najeeb H — Google review
Excellent! The cannoli is freshly filled and the coffee is good. A reminder than this is a cafe in Italy and the service may not be the same as the way things work in the country you come from or in touristy restaurants. The people that work here are friendly and polite. They charge a “coperto” which is a cover charge if you sit down to enjoy your coffee/cannoli. This is standard across Sicily but is likely why some people think they have been charged more than advertised.
Sophie B — Google review
I can only say: BRAVO, really the best CANOLA !!! Excellent espresso, great ice cream and excellent service in the heart of Trapani! A place I would visit every day for breakfast and coffee !!! WELL DONE, keep it up!!! I'll see you soon, but then I'll bring some friends too! ;)
Роберт Р — Google review
I don't recommand this place, when they discovered I am tourist and I don't speak the language, they charged me extra. The pizza's price in Trapani is 7 € and they charged we 6.50 € for a cappucino and two little biscuits.

La Pentolaccia is a long-standing restaurant located in a 17th-century monastery, offering regional pasta, seafood, and desserts. The menu features an impressive variety of pasta dishes such as busiate with Trapanese pesto, hand-rolled tagliatelle with pistachio, and spaghetti allo sgombro (with mackerel). Additionally, the restaurant offers crispy baby squid and a uniquely Sicilian cheeseboard featuring thick ricotta dusted with pistachio.
Very nice place, simply amazing food. Service very friendly. I will come back.
Carrosserie B — Google review
We had dinner outside in the little street, which was a nice place to sit. Inside, the ground floor is also cosy to eat, but the first floor less so. I recommend experiencing the sunset first, and coming here at 8 PM afterwards. After 8, it gets very busy, so you will have to wait in line probably. In terms of food, I can really recommend the caponata, as well as the fish couscous and the involtini with swordfish. Flavours were outstanding! The service was a little bit less great. We had one friendly waiter, but the other ones were not so kind. Next to the unfriendliness, the service was particularly well organized or attentive either. We often had to wait quite a while for a waiter to come take our order. Furthermore, some dishes were even forgotten and we had to remind the staff that we actually ordered more food. Overall, a solid restaurant to visit when in Erice.
Vincent S — Google review
The busiate with red mullet ragu (red mullet/cherry tomatoes/garlic/ roasted almond) was excellent!
Darci W — Google review
Service is rough, always rushing which doesn't mean you get your food very fast. Food is underwhelming. Had some lamb for 18 eur and mixed grill for 18eur. Both seem kinda made in canteen quickly. Compared to other restaurants in sicily I wouldn't pay more than 8-10 eur for these plates. Bread is old and breaks your teeth. From the outside the restaurant looks nice.
Victor — Google review
highly recommend this spot. definitely the app plate and the pesto pasta are both highly recommended!

We went here as tourists, but not felt like it while eating. The service was really friendly and quick; people provided great advices ! We ate at floor level, and it was beautifully decorated! Most importantly, the food was really good and we were really satisfied.
Enora R — Google review
Terrible service we were told to come in 20 minutes and we will be seated but we came back and waited extra 30 minutes for a table! We ordered wine and an appetiser and 2 pasta. They brought us the appetiser with no wine. We asked 3 waiters to bring it with no luck while they were bringing drinks to other tables that ordered coffee and other drinks. At last a waiter brought us the wine after we asked for the fourth time. The pasta also took long to come and it was mediocre.

Osteria Vineria a Casa Mia is a popular spot for both tourists and locals, known for its quality Sicilian cuisine and seafood dishes. The restaurant is family-owned and boasts a beautiful location by the sea, providing a charming setting for an enjoyable evening. While some visitors have experienced delays in service, others have praised the friendly and professional staff. This cozy establishment offers an authentic taste of Sicily, attracting a mix of locals and visitors alike.
Fantastic experience. Not only will you eat well but this place is also a theatre of local life. Mostly frequented by locals, workers, usual clients and Sicilian visitors, this tiny restaurant will offer you a true slice of Sicily. The food is excellent and has that lovely tasty homemade feel. The staff is friendly welcoming and helpful. Go without hesitation and taste it by yourself. Amazing. We had such a memorable dinner…
Bunsky — Google review
We arrived in Trapani late in the evening and were so lucky to find this incredible Osteria still open – and not just open, but serving truly outstanding food. We ordered a traditional Trapani-style pasta with sardines and fennel, and it was absolutely delicious – full of flavor, perfectly balanced, and clearly made with care. We also had a plate of fried seafood, which was crispy, fresh, and just spot on. Everything tasted authentic and satisfying, especially after a long travel day. One small detail that stood out: it was the only place where we were served freshly squeezed lemon juice instead of lemon slices – exactly as we had asked. That level of attentiveness really made a difference. All in all, a top-notch experience – especially at such a late hour. If you’re in Trapani and looking for real Sicilian flavors, this place is a gem.
Philipp O — Google review
A beautiful find in Trapani! The staff were extremely friendly and made us feel at home, making food and wine suggestions and coming to chat in between service. The food was flavourful and home cooked, and an overall non pretentious vibe. A very wholesome, affordable and tasty dinner experience! Would come again!
Gabriella B — Google review
10/2023 We were satisfied with the dishes taste: we liked the most Busiate with pesto trapaneze; for us it has been the best on the island. Very good also the dish Bucatini with sardines , if you are fine with fennel taste.

We were here in 2023 and now we returned in 2025. Both times we had lunch and the restaurant host has an amazing and cool energy. This Trapani bakery is a must-visit for anyone visiting the city. The owners are incredibly friendly and passionate about their baking, and the range of delicious pastries available is simply superb. If you're looking for a good sandwich or some fresh bread, this place isn't the best, but if you're after some delicious Italian baked goods then Bakery Oddo Michiele is definitely worth a visit!
Food is incredible, I would even dare to say better than some restaurants around the town. My girlfriend and I had mushroom and prosciutto pizza slices, lasagna, and a sweet with cream, they were fantastic. I just put 4 out of five stars for the service and atmosphere because it’s only to go and if you don’t ask they won’t give you cutlery, just say forquetta! (Or however is spelled) or just simply just make up some words or gestures in Italian and they will get you

The best, absolutely the best and what wonderful service and kindness. Amazing! The pasta dishes are so so so good, the almond cakes as well and please, try the warm ricotta fried cakes. My favorite in a long long time. If you can visit the bakery after 5pm. The pane di grano duro is warm by then and the ricotta cakes as well. So so so yummy
Sylvia K — Google review
It doesn’t matter how good the pastries are, when we encounter unnecessary rudeness from the workers, the whole experience can be ruined. This is what I experienced in this place. I asked for the name of the pastries I chose and what I received was a senseless and careless response with a chuckle and side eyes. The worker was a lady with dark hair and glasses on. Beware of such possible hostility if you ever visit here.

We had this bakery a short distance from the apartment and it is a treasure. Amazing pistachio and chocolate croissants for breakfast, but also baked pasta for lunch, excellent arancini and all at reasonable prices.
Marek M — Google review
Can’t comment on the food as I have a cold and can’t taste however I concur with previous comments about the lady with brown hair and glasses. Very abrupt and when I asked about Vegetarian options in the Arancini section, I got an eye roll and she looked ’pissed off’ that I dared ask. Not a great look for a business. A smile doesn’t cost anything. I didn’t take this photo, it’s screenshot from another photo on here.

I am Tuscan but I have lived in Trapani for several years, over time I have tried many of the local pastry shops and I can certainly say that the "Re Grano" cake is among the best I have ever eaten, not only did the birthday boy remain fully satisfied but also all the guests appreciated the goodness of the cake. I would also add that the quality-price ratio is excellent and that the pastry chef was very kind in showing me all the variations of cakes he had available and very careful in decorating and personalizing the one I chose, a young boy who conveyed a lot of passion for his Work! (Translated by Google) I'm sorry to have to write this negative review, but unfortunately, given the circumstances, I'm forced to. I bought fish couscous last Saturday for dinner. I had guests. I'll start by saying that I've done this before, and it's always been very good. I'm a regular customer for baked goods, and I've always given good publicity. Unfortunately, on Saturday, at dinner, I had a nasty surprise: the couscous tasted terrible. The fish broth had apparently gone bad, and the moral of the story was that I had to throw it all away. This morning, I thought it was right to stop by to inform them, and what I didn't like at all was that they didn't even bother to apologize, and their attitude was superficial in the face of what I consider to be a very serious matter. It can happen, but what should never happen is interacting with customers in a terrible way. I paid with cash, not peanuts. I'm giving one star because the system won't let me get any less. Losing a loyal customer isn't nice, but apparently they didn't care.

We went to buy some “tavola calda” before heading to the airport. The lady was super nice and approachable, the food looked nice but there wasn’t a lot (probably because it was 4 in the afternoon). We bought arancine and other rolls with speck, scamorza and pistacchio, with ragù and mozzarella and with mortadella and pistachio. They were all good but everything tasted really old, I could say they were made the day before. It’s a shame because I’m sure that they had been delicious if fresh. We paid 16.90€ for 8 pieces and 1 big water bottle

Bakery
Panificio Renda is a charming bakery located near the embarkation point for Favignana. It offers a delightful selection of Trapani and Sicilian traditional treats at affordable prices. Visitors can savor delicious arancine, cassatelle, and hand-made busiate. The welcoming lady running the workshop takes pride in her creations and provides exceptional hospitality. This bakery is strategically positioned for those planning a packed lunch for the Egadi islands.
Great bakers, friendly staff and great prices. Opens on a Sunday so you can get your bread, pizza, arancini and sweet treats. (For some reason it was showing as permanently closed on Google maps in April 24. It's definitely open!)

Got focaccia pizza. Was cold, mushy and did not taste very good. Maybe better for other items

(Translated by Google) We stumbled upon this place by chance while walking down to the port and decided to buy lunch to take on the boat. We ordered a fairly simple and slightly dry roll with sausage, and a slice of pozza with tomato sauce, ham, and sesame seeds. I should add that, once I pointed out the pizza to the lady behind the counter, she said it was an "excellent choice." However, upon opening the package, we noticed that the pizza was mostly made of raw dough, with large burnt areas on the bottom—terrible (photo attached). If, when taking a pizza out of the oven, you notice it's undercooked, you should throw it away, or at least let a customer know who pointed it out to you. Don't say "excellent choice" and just pass it off, charging €4-5 for a single slice. I'm really disappointed; I wouldn't recommend this bakery.

Cake shop
Located in the narrow streets of Trapani, there lies a hidden gem known as Pasticceria Renda dei Fratelli Renda. This renowned pastry shop upholds the rich heritage of traditional confections, offering an array of delectable treats that should not be missed. The authentic ambiance exudes a sense of joy and passion for their craft, evident even in the elderly man who passionately sells these delightful pastries.
I loved the outhentic spirit of the place. The man who sold me pastries was so kind and happy. It felt even with his age that he is still enjoying what he is doing. I as ex pastry shef was inspired by his love to food. We tried some mixed pastries the one with soft local sheep chese was amazing. I enjoyed each bite.

(Translated by Google) The best pastry shop in all of Trapani! The REAL old-fashioned pastry shop, with authentic flavors and the kindness of the past. Small pearl hidden in a street in the historic center not contaminated by the tourist crowds. The Renda brothers have passed down the art of pastry making for generations, and they do it in a genuine way, far from the impositions of tourism but with the rules that the art and times of quality pastry making impose. In this place, fresh traditional Trapani desserts are baked all day long, and if you go early in the morning you will be lucky enough to taste the hot croissants with the tastiest cream ever. We returned several times during our stay because the quality of the ricotta and the freshness of the pastas prevailed over all the historical rivals recommended on TripAdvisor. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! CONSIGLIATISSIMISSIMO!
